today we will be praying the glorious mysteries let's begin in the name of the father and of the son
and of the holy spirit amen i believe in god the father almighty creator of heaven and earth
and in jesus christ his only son our lord who was conceived by the holy spirit born of the virgin mary
suffered under pontius pilate was crucified died and was buried he descended to hell on the third day
he rose again from the dead, and he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God,
the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection
of the body, and a life everlasting. Amen. For our Holy Father's health and intentions,
our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, amen.
For an increase in the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God.
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, amen.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be.
World without end. Amen.
The first glory's mystery is the resurrection.
we come across in the sermon on the mount in Matthew chapter six
Jesus exhorting us that when we are praying we should go into like our private room
close the door and pray to our father and there's this kind of ongoing theme of he who sees
what is done in secret will repay us and Jesus lives this himself right
throughout the gospels we see him consistently going and praying kind of in private
just to his father and that there's this really beautiful witness
and also like teaching that our Heavenly Father wants to have like a special privilege, private,
what we call sacred, set apart relationship with us.
That's just him and us.
And Jesus has this.
And what is so striking about this mystery for me, the resurrection, is it's done in secret, right?
Like we know it happened, but we don't know how it happened, what it looked like, what it sounded like exactly.
We have access to the resurrection appearances, but the moment itself,
remains hidden, private, sacred.
It's this intimate moment in the life of the most holy Trinity gift from the Father to the Son
in the Spirit.
And I think it's just, it's a great invitation.
We're pulled in so many different directions with so much pressure to kind of perform
and put on appearances and appease and respond to everything that's so external.
But the Lord wants something that's so private and hidden and intimate.
So as we pray with the resurrection today, can we be renewed in knowing our Father wants
to have a special particular relationship with us, and essentially just to be renewed in
like a real deep interior life that's just for us and our Heavenly Father?
Our Father, who art in heaven, howlode be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil amen

save us from the fires of hell,
and lead all souls to heaven,
especially those in most need of thy mercy.
The second glorious mystery is the ascension.
St. Thomas Aquinas, right, echoing scripture,
exhorts us to seek the things that are above
where Christ is sitting at the right hand of the Father.
And this reminds us that the ascension,
it's more than just a theological reality.
It is that, but also the hope as we pray with this second glorious mystery of the ascension
is that inspires in us a longing for heaven.
And we can have a little foretaste of heaven that stoke this fire through prayer,
through the prayerful reading of scripture, the sacraments.
But right, as we love the Lord and love him more, as we meditate upon the ascension,
where we see Jesus returned to the right hand of the Father,
the hope is that this bears fruits in our lives by our own longing for heaven and heavenly things,
our own desire to be with Jesus, to be in heaven. So as we pray today, may we ask for the grace
for a deeper longing for heaven and a deeper detachment and concern about the things of this world.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallow be thy name.
kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be, world without end, amen.
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell,
and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.
The third glorious mystery is the descent of the Holy Spirit.
In addition to painting of Pentecost, he has Peter featured holding the keys,
the keys to the kingdom, right, that Jesus himself gave him.
And let's remember Peter, right, who was previously known,
as Simon, that Peter, he failed a number of times. He fell asleep in the Garden of
Dissominy. He denied our Lord three times. It was to him even that Jesus said that one time,
right? Like, Satan, get behind me. And yet it's the same man that Jesus chooses to be the first
pope, to lead his church. And it's after Peter's first homily at 3,000 souls would join
the church and become baptized, and he eventually is faithful unto death.
receiving a martyr's crown.
Simon, he became Peter, right, through the power of the Holy Spirit, through the work of God of grace.
And, you know, I anticipate none of us listening to this are ever going to be called Pope.
But we are called to bring, like, the entirety of our lives and our stories, even our failures to the Lord, to receive his mercy.
and to be forgiven, but also to be transformed,
to be transformed by the grace of God.
And so we bring before him our needs, our responsibilities,
our gifts, our various roles, etc.
And we ask for the Holy Spirit to come down upon,
to anoint to fill with grace,
the entirety of our lives, and all that we do.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil amen

from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy.
The fourth glorious mystery is the assumption of Mary. It's one of my favorite quotes from the
whole year. It's a quote by René Girard, that few people want to be saints these days, but everyone
is trying to lose weight. And, you know, if you recall, I kind of talked about, like, okay,
there's something perhaps, like, good in this. There's this, some sort of like a desire
to be young forever, to be beautiful forever.
But it gets in trouble when we're trying to live that and maintain that
and fight for that here on this earth.
But I do believe that we are called to live forever
and to experience in like the share in the resurrection,
the body, like a share of a beauty and a youthfulness, if you will,
that is eternal and far surpasses anything that we experience here.
And we see this in Our Lady, right?
She wasn't worried about here and now.
She placed all her hope in the Lord.
And in the assumption, we see Mary being assumed body and soul into heaven, sharing uniquely in Jesus' resurrection, but also foreshadowing, like, where we are called.
And so I think the invitation today is to place our trust, our confidence in the Lord, remember that this world is passing.
But that there's a life, there's beauty, there's glory, there's even a youthfulness that is eternal,
that is given to us by the Lord and how do we receive that like Mary we continue to prioritize and to seek
holiness here and now that we may become saints our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name
thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against
us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil amen hail mary full of grace the lord is with

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning
is now and ever shall be, world without end, amen. Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need
of thy mercy. The fifth glory's mysteries, the coronation of Mary's Queen of Heaven
in earth. How did Mary become the queen of heaven? By the road of humility, Mary remained in
humility. And she lived this with trust and obedience and surrender. She said yes, yes, yes, again and again
and again. She remained humble and docile, independent, and receptive, but all rooted in the fruit
of her confidence in the Lord, her knowing the Lord, and his goodness.
And now, like, here she is, like, resplendently crowned as queen,
queen of heaven and earth.
And so let us too, who want to share in the glory of heaven,
let us remain on this road of humility shown to be a royal road.
The road lived and walked through docility and trust and patience and obedience.
