Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Royals of Malibu cast interview part one. I'm Emma D'Muth and I work behind the scenes on the story development of the show. Sit back, grab a treasure cafe, pistachio latte, or a calum certified green juice, and get ready, because today we're going to be discussing some royalty with the cast. These bonus episodes will be in two parts. Today, we have Malibu's voice of reason and surrogate mother Lucy voiced by the amazing Stephanie Sherry, who actually plays both Lucy and Margaret Sinclair. Hello! Queer icon and Malibu's best friend, Valerie, voiced by the incredible Francesca Garmante.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Hi! In last, but certainly not least, our badass queen herself, Alice Sinclair, voiced by the one and only Alyssa McKay. Hello. Today, we're going to be answering questions from you, the fans. Play some games and announce some very big news that you won't want to miss. If you guys could give Ella any advice after that finale, what would you tell her? Alissa, I'll start with you. My advice is probably to run because I didn't look like a very good situation.
Starting point is 00:01:27 I honestly have no idea how, I don't have any thoughts on what that could have been other than what it looks like. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I mean, I think she did exactly the right move. I really, of course, I love that she came to Lucy because I think that was the right choice. I think actually that was really smart of her. And she knew what she was doing, you know, while she was obviously wanting to do her due diligence
Starting point is 00:01:53 and be like, I'm not going to be showing up to work. Sorry. It was actually, I think, very smart. She could have easily just taken off and not stopped there. And I think she really wanted someone to know where she was. So she was running away in a very smart, safe, one step ahead, like strategic way, which I think is very much how Ella always operates. She's always kind of one step ahead of everyone else until this moment. And I think this is probably the first time
Starting point is 00:02:18 she's been this blindsided in this specific way. And I just, I'm really curious to hear what Francesca thinks because I think Val really deserved a phone call. That's literally what I was gonna say. I was, I just wanted to hear it. I was like, oh, she needed to call me. And we needed to just like pull up on him because he needs to be held accountable, you know?
Starting point is 00:02:41 And like, I don't know, she gave him all the chances in the world and he deserved to get smacked one or two times. I don't condone violence, but he earned it. What do we think about Ella Kissing Eastern on the way out? Do you think that was just like an impulse decision? Do you think it was more of like a friendly kiss, more of a romantic kiss? That's so funny to me, that was a kiss on the cheek.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Are we officially declaring that was like a kiss. That was a kiss on the cheek. Are we officially declaring that was like a kiss? It was a kiss on the lips. Oh wow. Okay, we don't have to include this, but to me it was like, it was like a bye. Oh, it was a kiss. Interesting. It wasn't like a full like French kiss.
Starting point is 00:03:19 I think it was a, it was a, it was a big pack. It was a big pack. I mean, my girl. I think so. Yeah, so much for like me and again. She keeps these two under toes, okay? She has them both in the palm of their hands. Every time they think they've got a fast one on her,
Starting point is 00:03:34 she's, she's been the block. Okay. I definitely think it was like a little bit of a good buy case, obviously, but like I don't know. I feel like maybe like part of Ella because she's so like worked up in that moment. I wonder if what's going through her head is like, shit, I picked the wrong brother.
Starting point is 00:03:50 And that was her way of communicating that a little bit to Eastern because she did. I mean, we had that scene where she was like, you were supposed to break up with me and break my heart, but you didn't. And I wonder if she kind of knew that Eastern did care about her a little bit more than some of the other girls he had been hooked enough with. And so that was kind
Starting point is 00:04:08 of the curvy of rectifying that a little bit. Yeah, I feel like Reed was never ever honest and Easton was always honest. And I feel like to me it felt like a thank you for like just being though a dick so like up front. Yeah, at least he's like unapologetically himself, you know, yes like and I think her number one thing is trust and I think it's yeah I think there was probably so much communicated in that case. It's like thank you like I appreciate you also goodbye Also, I'm not mad at you, but I am leaving also goodbye. Also, I'm not mad at you, but I am leaving. Yes.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Do you guys think there's any scenario in which Brooke could be redeemable? No. Absolutely not. I think so. No. When I tell you she's dead to me, I, no, no coming back. This woman, this woman is an adult, acting like a child. Right. Like when I've even been talking about the predator side of this, like, ugh. Honestly, I think she's an embarrassment. She's an embarrassment to women everywhere.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Yeah. Do you know, she waited till it was his 18th birthday, too? I don't know how many people caught on that detail, but... Like, she's repulsive, and I don't want to, like, you know. She's gross. Let's talk a little bit about some behind the scenes moments. You guys all had such great chemistry. What was it like working together behind the scenes?
Starting point is 00:05:31 You guys, do you guys have any memories that come to mind that stick out during the recording process? One that immediately comes to mind when Matt made Francesca beatbox freestyle, rap for a minute straight, and then it didn't even make it. I remember this. It was like two seconds. I have the whole video and I always refer back to it.
Starting point is 00:05:54 It's like one of my favorite moments. We were having a ball. It was like the second we met. Wait, that's so sad. Where did it go? Oh, it's okay. On my phone. It went on my Instagram.
Starting point is 00:06:03 It went on my Instagram. We could leave it out. I'll work on my wrapping too. I remember being very impressed. Yeah Matt just said just keep going. Yes. And it was like a full minute of bee boxing. Thank you. Thank you. Stephanie what about you? Any memories? Let's stick out. Oh my god. I mean the minute I felt like the I don't know if this is literally true, but it feels like the minute Alyssa and I met, we like hugged. We might have hugged. We also might have not, but it might have just felt like a warm hug. That was true.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I think we, I think it, I just, it was just like, oh, no, really, I mean, you know, the reality of recording this is that you bang out a bunch of things at once. And I personally did literally all of my work in one session. And so it was just like a whirlwind of two hours. I went from literally meeting Alyssa Hi, hello, Hi, to like literally going through Lucy's entire arc with her in the span of like two hours. And by the end, like that final scene, like I saw her tearing up,
Starting point is 00:07:02 I saw her crying, and I was absolutely like, it didn't even feel like acting to me by the end. Yeah. Yeah, well, picking up Grakengasta, as soon as I, it means Stephanie met each other, it was like, I was like, you are my mother. Like you were my soul mate. Like, I am.
Starting point is 00:07:19 You just connected? Yeah, she is. We just connected so strongly, she is. We just connected so strongly so quickly. And I remember so specifically, because yeah, we had to record. I was literally late. I was like getting ready to leave that night. I was flying back to New York that night in them. And just like every scene that I mean, Stephanie had together, it was just so, everything was just so moving. And it was one of the only times I did cry in the booth was my scenes with Stephanie, because we just had a great connection immediately.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Same thing with Francesca too, we all got along really well. Well, they had us redo the scene where we meet because they're like, you guys sound like you know each other already. Thank you, but they're just so happy to be around each other. I was like, oh yeah, we just like instantly clicked. And we were just in there like dancing.
Starting point is 00:08:08 Anytime you heard us like doing a movement, we were really doing it. Like it was just instantly reconnected. Yeah. To set some context for the audience because they probably don't realize, I mean, we recorded the whole season in four days, right? And all of the scenes were not in order.
Starting point is 00:08:25 It would be a scene from like episode 12 or 13 that you're recording the first day that's really personal or really steamy. And then a few days later, you have to record the scene where you're meeting that character. So you really have to snap in and out of scenes very quickly.
Starting point is 00:08:38 And you guys did a great job of doing that. And I know we were on a super tight schedule too. I think most scenes we only did like three takes, is that right? Yeah. You guys most scenes we only did like three takes. Is that right? Yeah. You guys did a killer job at adapting very quickly. What was your favorite scene to record? I remember we had so much fun doing the scenes.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I'm not kidding, but I think it has to be, I think it's episode six, like hot girls who took the voucher, the scene where we're like going into the kitchen. Oh yeah. Yes, yes, yes. It was just so fun. to the bouncer, the scene where we're like going in to the club. Yes, yes, yes. It was just so fun. Like, I feel like we really saw what was happening and we're just like, we're in the club,
Starting point is 00:09:13 we're dancing, when we're before, when we're like taking a shot to go out to pregame, those moments were so fun. We were dancing, we were just jumping around in there and like, do what you want. I think one of my favorite scenes, I think about it because I have a lot of favorite scenes, but I think what I have my absolute all-time favorite scenes was when Valerie and Ella and Savannah like team up to take David down. It was just so fun. One of the funniest moments for me is Valerie, like trying
Starting point is 00:09:47 to pretend to be intimate to seduce David. And you can tell that she is just, you're built with a strong investment banker. That's my favorite line. It's just so fun. And gratifying. And yeah, that was by far one of my favorite things. She has some of the funniest lines in the entire show. Bows just like kills me. Yeah, the writing was so just real. Like it was just very, something that everybody would naturally say. So it was like very easy to just spill it out.
Starting point is 00:10:21 What about you, Stephanie? Well, I mean, I think the Lucy storyline is very like cute and kind of like together. And I feel like the whole thing was amazing. But I will say my favorite scene is in episode eight when we, I feel like a lot of our scenes are kind of like exposition or, you know, like big moving the plot forward moments.
Starting point is 00:10:40 But I think my favorite scene actually is where it's a little more lived in. And that's when they're just like Discussing boys and like giving her advice and you know, we're talking. I'm like, oh, don't like the bad ones Oh, you know, I like the wise fairy godmother scene, which is that's what I call it in my head is episode Episode eight when when she's like coming to her for advice being like shouldn't feel Like this and I'm like probably. What about hardest scenes to record? I know, Alyssa, you probably have the most.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Was there one that stands out to you? Yeah, by far, the most difficult scene for me was with David, the scene where David attacks Ella. It's actually funny, because I didn't think that like going into it, I was like, okay, this is intense, and this is heavy, but I actually like doing those scenes because I feel like it evokes a lot of emotion out of me personally, and so I like exploring that. And I remember the first time we shot that scene, everyone's silent, and they're
Starting point is 00:11:35 like, are you good? And I'm like, yeah, I'm good. I'm totally fine. Second scene, we, or the second take, we do it, and everyone's silent, and I just burst into tears because they just felt so real and I just remember like everyone came and hugged me and it was just like it was definitely the most most difficult but very fun to record I don't know if I'm like allowed to say that but I like filming very high high-stakes scenes. Yeah it's a challenge as an actor. Are there any tv or movie characters you guys took inspiration from when you're preparing for your roles? A lot of Ella, I see in Fiona Gallagher from shameless if you guys have seen that.
Starting point is 00:12:15 So that was probably the character I drew the most inspiration from because she's tough and kind of doing a lot of this on her own. What about you, Francesca? Just when I read the audition sites, I automatically thought Euphoria and just pictured this world with all these people. And I was like, I'm the Maddie of Euphoria. Yeah. That's what I am.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Yeah. Through what I walked in, you know who I am. Yeah. How about you, Stephanie? She was definitely, Lucy, especially, was like absolutely Chessie from Parent Trap, for sure. Yeah. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:12:48 You kind of sound like her, you kind of look like her. Thank you. Yeah, just, you know, where she's like, you know what? I'm not looking at her funny, you know? Yeah, you know, I feel like that it's Chessie meets, like Natasha Lio, you know, Russian doll Natasha Lio and Orange is New Black Natasha Lio.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Like, you know, the kind of like, I'm from New York. Nats meets like the warm and fuzzy Chessi, which by the way, is really just me. I'm not that I'm not transforming so far, but, you know, I definitely don't have as thick of an accent as Lucy does. I do have a slight New York accent because that is where I'm from. But yeah, that's definitely. And then also, there's like a part in episode two where I like read a letter to Ella. And it's really like a really like soft, but turn-o-place that I don't have kids. You know, I don't even have younger siblings like I'm a twin. And so it's like, it really is amazing when I'm not answering the question.
Starting point is 00:13:46 You're gonna have to cut this one. But it's amazing when a different part of you comes out that you didn't know of. And I think, again, this isn't answering the inspiration question, but it actually I think ties to what Alyssa you were saying of sometimes the more difficult scenes, they're fun, meaning like exciting
Starting point is 00:14:08 because they're bringing up parts of you that you didn't even know were there. Like how amazing that through doing what we love to do and by doing our jobs, we grow as people. Like, I can talk about it for hours. Yeah, you learn more about yourself. All right, so let's move on to some fan questions. We literally have gotten thousands, so I'm sorry to all the fans that we could not answer your questions for.
Starting point is 00:14:47 We did have a lot of the very similar questions, so hopefully your question will be answered to some extent with the ones we chose. But to start off, this is from Bella from Spotify. Would you guys date any of the characters in real life and if so, who? I'm, I would date Valerie. Oh my God, that's what I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:15:10 I was just like, I'd date Ella. You guys. That's so rare. That's what I was going to say. Yeah, I'm a big, good villain. Yeah, I, I too ship Bella. I love that. Yeah, I would definitely date Ella because like,
Starting point is 00:15:23 it's just the perks of dating women women your BFS like why not? I feel like they're just also like the most confident most stable as well. Yeah, like all these guys They have so many issues and they need to work out they need to see a therapist first and then maybe we can Oh, yeah reevaluate. Yeah, my gut reaction was Val as well. I was like it's Val Like she's the for it feels weird to say because I'm like I'm in my 30s and they're like, you know children But like I don't want to I don't want to weird to say, because I'm like, I'm in my 30s and they're like, you know, children. But like, I don't want to hold a broke, but yeah, Val for sure.
Starting point is 00:15:49 And Dev, Dev Val, also like, I'm sorry, like, Calum problematic. Like, I just think like, there, I really know what, you know what? It's Lucy. Lucy, you guys, if you're coming from an adult perspective, like just the adult characters, Lucy, you guys, if you're coming from an adult perspective, like just the adult characters, Lucy, duh. Like, she was the most well-adjusted adult.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Right, right. Lucy, okay, like a little bit more fan love for Lucy because like literally the most well-adjusted adult on that show. However, in Teen Land, vow, for sure. Sorry, Ella, but vow. No, I get it, I get it. Going back, we get a lot of DMs, especially for people that are not in their teens or 25 and above.
Starting point is 00:16:31 There's been a lot of team columns. Wow. Oh, good. Whenever I ask team Reader, team Eastern, we've gotten a lot of team columns. I think it's the voice. Armin has such an alluring voice. More sure.
Starting point is 00:16:42 His voice is like so alluring. I'm like, oh. Yeah, read the dictionary to like, oh, yeah. Read the dictionary to me. No, literally, I had a viewing party. And I had a viewing party with a bunch of my friends, late 20s, early 30s, and they were like, they were so fun, and they were like, okay,
Starting point is 00:16:56 but like, Zaddy though, like, oh, they were like, I look at with Cal, and I was like, no. No. So fun. All right, moving on to a question from Catherine on Spotify? How long does it take you guys to memorize your lines? I didn't memorize any of my lines.
Starting point is 00:17:11 I just read them straight off the page. Plot to it. Fair front of us. That's a question. You're doing voice work. Yeah. Spoiler alert, we are reading. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Yeah. Yeah, perks of voice work. But it's kind of fun because in at least least in my experience when we would do a scene over and over again, I just started kind of, nah, I wouldn't like change the line. So I just kind of started throwing in like the way I think Ella would say it maybe in like different takes. So I guess after like you do it a few times, you kind of have a like a basic understanding of the scene and what's being said and you can kind of add live from there.
Starting point is 00:17:44 But yeah, we're reading. They gave us the freedom though to like punch and words that we felt were more accurate. And then, you know, we would all be like, we're all in the booth together. So we're like looking at each other. So parts of it, we would memorize, I feel like, but not all of it. Mm-hmm. That's a good segue into our next question from Akshira from Spotify. He asked, do you guys record your scenes together or separately? Maybe we can paint the picture a little bit about what that recording process is like for you guys.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Um, I think most of the time we did record the scenes together when we could. We could only fit three people in the booth. So if it was like a four person scene, I think what we would do is whoever had like the least of our lines in that scene, we'd put them in like the isolation booth. It was like the punishment.
Starting point is 00:18:26 That was the worst. It was like, wow, I'm all alone. I was so curious, I was so sad when they were like, okay, Valerie's in the isolation booth. I was like, what? No, I knew that would be the only one. That's horrible. It's literally in a separate room.
Starting point is 00:18:43 It's like completely, you don't even, you're not even in a separate room. Yes. You don't see any one. Very isolated. Yes. Anyone who is in that booth at any given time is sounded so sad. I'm just so depressed.
Starting point is 00:18:54 That's real acting, you guys. Those are the MVPs. Well, the first three days I was in the booth with Alyssa and you guys, we were having so much fun. Even when she was having some misceads with the boys. Like, I was in the middle like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:09 That's actually a selfie key back. That was probably my favorite scene. Because I was like, oh, they're really like, they're really about to go back. I like, I love your line, where you're like, I call Shaq gun, you boys are in trouble anyway. It's just so like that just embodies who value me is, I feel.
Starting point is 00:19:26 She's the best. She is. Gamer Tiger from Apple asks, what age did you guys begin voice acting and were you nervous on the first day? So actually, well, I started acting in general when I was like, I want to say 14 when I was like a freshman in high school. Um, and I actually never thought about like voice work.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Like I just have never auditioned for any voice work. This was like my first voice acting job that I ever did. I was so scared. I was having such anxiety. I could not eat that morning. I thought I was gonna vomit the entire time. And every single person like Nick, Chris, Armin, all of them, after I did my first scene,
Starting point is 00:20:03 they come out and they're like, I'm just gonna let you know now. When I heard this was your first job, I was not looking forward, like, they would like, thought that like, maybe I would not be very good. I mean, right, Felicia, that's fine. And they were like, but I'm like very impressed.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Like, I'm pleasantly surprised. So I was really scared back. They're like, people maybe feel better about it after I went in and did it. It was less scary. Yeah, I could not believe when she told me that was her first job. Me neither.
Starting point is 00:20:25 Like at the end of the first day, I was like, how do you still have a voice? Like, wow, you're doing so much dialogue. Like so much. It's so good. It's so good. She goes down to like, it's just so good. And so much range too.
Starting point is 00:20:37 You're doing a fight scene one minute in the next moment. You're doing a make out scene in the next moment. You're doing an emotional scene with flashback scene with your mom. It's hard to do all of that. And especially in the first time you're doing a make out scene, the next moment you're doing an emotional scene with flashback scene with your mom. It's hard to do all of that, and especially the first time you're doing it. So very impressive. Thanks.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Yeah. I started voice over work like a year or two ago. Two years ago I think. I've done like all kinds of stuff now, but this was my first podcast. And like it was so nice to like walk in there like oh, you're all together. And I was like, what are you doing together?
Starting point is 00:21:05 Like, I'd never experienced that in voiceover words. So it's such a great experience. And Stephanie? I've been doing VO stuff professionally, probably like five or six years now, and then acting in general for longer. But just like Francesca's saying, it was absolutely the first time I was with someone in the booth. Like, totally had never been in the booth with someone else before and it's funny because leading up to my session day
Starting point is 00:21:30 I was you know, I was like stalking everyone. I like followed a list of whatever whatever and you know I'm seeing like her and like you know the Kafferra boys like in the thing and I was like oh like I guess like I'm gonna probably just gonna like be alone and then I got there and she was there and I was like I'm gonna probably just gonna be alone. And then I got there and she was there. And I was like, hey, I'm so happy. And yeah, it's like, I do a lot of dubbing and you're just alone. Just, and also, for those of you who don't know, I mean, I think most people have seen kind of a recording studio.
Starting point is 00:22:02 It's like you're behind the glass. And it's very isolating, because you're obviously alone but you're also in this like sound vacuum sealed room with like everyone on another side of glass just like staring at you like it's a fucking aquarium. Oh, can I curse? Yeah. Yeah, you know, there's just so many things where you and also sometimes in certain studios you can't even see them like it's black and so you just hear someone you're ear being like all right again again, you're like, okay, like it's just, I guess, I mean, who knows? Maybe that's what the isolation booth,
Starting point is 00:22:31 the isolation booth felt like. And we can make a parent-drop reference here with the isolation cabin, I guess is how it felt to be in that random other booth you guys use. But that is definitely what I felt like. Yeah, but Alyssa and I were together in our own happy dreamland for an afternoon. Yeah. All right, Emma from Spotify asked, if you guys actually went to the cove, what friend group
Starting point is 00:22:51 do you think you'd belong to? I'd be part of the outcast with Valerie. I strongly suspect and I'm not my answer. Yeah, I think I'd be in the crew that I'm in, honestly. Like, those people are cookin' for co-couple puffs and my crew where I feel like we're the most sane, like, cool, level-headed people. Honestly, yeah. Yeah, I just agree. I just think, you know, the artsy, creative, inquisitive, you know, queer, fun, fabulous group.
Starting point is 00:23:21 All right, William from Spotify asked, if you could be any character from the show for just one day, who would it be? I'm going to have to say Ella, maybe after she inherits the $100 million, but yeah. I also would say Ella, she was a very adventurous life. She doesn't say no if they see, doesn't hold back. She's cool. She's very cool. Yeah, I think, I think peak Ella,
Starting point is 00:23:46 peak Ella having inherited money in the Lexus, driving down PCH, that's what. Peak Ella. Peak Ella, that's where I'd like to be like, air dropped in. You don't want to be Ella in the stolen Tesla? Oh, yeah. I feel like peak Ella is just that, that very small amount of time in between her
Starting point is 00:24:02 inheriting $100 million. Peak is a very cheating honor. just thought that that very small amount of time in between her and her $100 million and then we're cheating on her. It's that scene when Val and Ella are at the pier getting the lobster rolls, everything is perfect for the first time and the entire, and the entire season and everything goes to shit. Our only problem is mayo. Mayo versus butter. Which by the way, mayo or butter?
Starting point is 00:24:23 It's a big debate. It's an East Coaster. It's a real, oh, it's a real thing. But you know that they use mayo to toast it, like to toast the bread. I've never had either. It's like, wait, Emma. I don't know. Emma, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:24:37 I think I've had a lobster roll like one time of my life and I don't know what was on it. Yeah. I had it like once. Wow, you guys, to the Santa Monica pier, we go. Okay. They're a little overhyped, but they are good. The best part is the bread, really.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Any good bread with butter is just so good. I'll have to try them again. Alyssa, were you going to say something else? Yeah, but sorry. It was like really unrelated. I just got reminded when you were talking about us doing the roller skating scene at the pier. Like we're first like five questions back. But another one of my favorite scenes was when me and Valerie did the hiking scene. Yes. And Matt had to keep telling us like you guys have to be huffing and puffing like
Starting point is 00:25:18 your hiking. So we were like, like, just like, just like, stomping in place. Like, like, it's like breathing so heavy while just not going anywhere and that was like a really fun scene issue I just like thought of that. This next question might be the most asked question we've gotten very important Vera asks from Spotify are you team read or team eastern? Oh The me oh they both are I don't know I was gonna say team easton but because again at least Easton's honest. Yeah, so problematic Why are these my only options? That's what I want to know. Yeah, why do I have to pick? I know there's no team found I know we'd all choose that yeah, well, that's what's so funny
Starting point is 00:25:57 It's like pick between these two like definitely like traumatized problematic men or the woman who has great advice is Emotionally mature mature but no perfect but no So we got team eastern from Stephanie Alyssa. What's your vote? I vote team eastern. He's got potential Team eastern from Alyssa Francesca. Yeah, I want to have to go Eastern to Eastern winds all three wow All right. Yeah, just because of the finale. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:29 And honestly, before the finale, like read is just so like, he's so like, oh, I'm, I'm, it's like, handle your shit. Being adult, I understand you're a child, but it's like, like, not only was that Brooke's situation problematic, but not to be like, pro-read, but like Brooke was obviously a predator in that situation, for sure. And other than that, I think Reed is just like so unwilling to accept responsibility in a way that Eastern actually, though problematic, was.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Exactly. Like I feel for Reed. I totally feel for him. But like you can't be held accountable ever. It's always someone else's fault. What the heck? He also didn't run after her. Like he didn't run after her. Why? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:15 Last question. Victoria from Spotify asked, what do you wish for your characters after the season? Peace, love, happiness, no drama. Ella just I wish for Ella for her and Valerie and all the people that she loves to just run away into her own little mansion and just live her life. Away from the royals.
Starting point is 00:27:34 That's my opinion I was about right now, just because of the finale. That could change. Amen. Amen, sister. I want the same. I want peace, love. I want my girl to come back.
Starting point is 00:27:44 I want for us to just have fun. Play our video games. Just have a good time. Dance all night. Yeah. What about you, Stephanie? I want Lucy to continue to be a source of comfort and support and like reason for Ella. I hope that they maintain that relationship. And also, I am very invested and I have not let go that someone destroyed my shop. Oh, like, hello, like, oh, it might be David. Now David's, what, I just rebuilt it, like, excuse me. Where the hell do I put my redemption art?
Starting point is 00:28:22 Like, I'm going to royals up the mountain. I'm going to over this not over that. I know. Ella got her revenge. Lucy needs her revenge. Yes, I just, I very much want Lucy to obviously, you know, continue to have a relationship with Ella, but I want her to definitely, I would love for her to find love,
Starting point is 00:28:38 for her to find a partner. I would love, like I'm saying, for her to figure out who vandalized the shop and get revenge. I think a Lucy Val, like,'m saying, for her to figure out who vandalized the shop and get revenge. I think a Lucy Val, like, kind of how Val and Ella were like, all right, you know, I'm around the corner. Like when you were doing the detective thing, going to the fight club, I think it would be so funny for Val and Lucy to like, while Ella's away, team up and be like, all right,
Starting point is 00:29:01 let's figure out like what really happened here. And it'll probably tie back to Ella. I would imagine. So that could be inter-aisante. But yes, I also would love for her to find love because I think she's great. Yeah. Agreed.
Starting point is 00:29:15 Yeah, a Val Lucella trio unstoppable. Unstoppable. Like truly, that would be so funny. I love all the girl power on this show. Yes, yes, yes. Me too. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Me too. Yeah. All right, now it's time for some fun and games.
Starting point is 00:29:47 This first game we'll be playing is called Witch Character. I'm going to give you guys a scenario and you're going to tell me which character you would choose. Alright, ready? Okay. Witch Character, what you call if you were a Reston. Ballery. Ballery.
Starting point is 00:30:02 I'm going to say Lucy. I mean, true. All good options. Lucy has the bail money. Yes. As I say, doesn't Valerie also not have a car? So, she even going to get, so I think Valerie will grow into becoming a Lucy. You know, like she'll have the wisdom and all the things that you need when you're in
Starting point is 00:30:20 trouble. Oh, I'm telling you, like are the duo that this girl needs. Cause you need the capability and the personality. Well, she has it, we're her people. Exactly. Which character would you choose to go backpacking around Europe with? Oh, listen, I guess I'd have to say,
Starting point is 00:30:40 am I allowed to pick myself Ella? Yeah. Ella. It's a character. If she has $100 million, yeah. Well, she's got $100 million, so yeah, I'm going to pick her too. But if she's so adventurous, you know, she doesn't let things stop her from doing what you want.
Starting point is 00:30:59 Yeah, I feel like she would make sure you see all of the sights. Yeah. You get the most value out of your trip. Interesting. Hot take, hot take. Love a hot take. Wait, I'm sorry. Perhaps, I said val, because I just think she's so funny. And I do love Ella.
Starting point is 00:31:12 However, hot take, Savannah. Oh. Savannah would probably like figure out a way to get you in the back door of like some exclusive, I don't know, Savannah. I don't know. I feel like she wanted to do the whole hostile thing and all that because it'd probably be too dirty for her, but I feel like that's kind of the fun
Starting point is 00:31:30 of backpacking Europe, you know? Like if you want the real raw, young person experience, backpacking Europe, Savannah would be great if you're like in your 50s and 60s and you wanna stay in the nice resorts and she has the whole spa package ready to go Savannah all the way. But if you're 20 years old, I would say Ella, but that's a good point. All right, who would you want by your side if you were getting robbed?
Starting point is 00:31:53 Robbed? Sorry, that's just such an intense scenario. Like, if you're walking down the street at night, I mean, that's where Reed shines. That's where Reed shines. Oh, yeah, Reed, you'll pick us up. We'll get, we'll get Reed this one. We'll give them this one. Yeah, the dude can punch you dead, you know, you better use put that anger to use. Yeah, yeah, yeah, take those anger issues out on someone who's attacking me. Thank you. Yeah, and I
Starting point is 00:32:17 do think that he would stand up for everyone. Like, I don't think he would just let people get one over his people. Who would you want to teach you how to surf? Eastern. It'd be fun. He's just fun. And I feel like Reed would be just a little too, like obviously, what I'm feeling he'd be a little too serious about it. But Eastern, I feel like he's the type to have fun with it, but actually teach it at the same time.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Yeah, that's it. Oh, Eastern's a good backpacking buddy too. That's a good one. Eastern would have been very fun. Yes. But yes, Easton, Easton for sure. You might end up in a foreign country's jail with Easton though. Getting to travel. Locked up abroad. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Which character do you think you could be in a fight? Savannah.
Starting point is 00:32:59 I could definitely say Savannah. Especially after the pool scene, definitely Savannah. If it's cannot fight, she cannot fight. She can't fight. Oh yeah, Brooke. Brooke. Oh, Brooke.
Starting point is 00:33:13 I would have the most passion against a fight with her. It would bring out more strength than me. You know who I could beat in a fight. Who? Dina. Oh. That is who I could realistically be in a fight. Dina's kind of a wild card, but she's British royalty. She's about a wild card. We're still learning a little bit more about her. Which character is most likely to be president one day?
Starting point is 00:33:39 Valerie. I was gonna say Ella. Yeah, Val. Valerie, we're? Cause I know Reed also says he wants to like get in the politics or whatever, but I just feel like Valery has got like, the, I don't want to say curse, I don't want to go straight word, but you don't have to say anything. She's just got the, got X-Factor, so be president. The fire, the past and the drive. She's got the gusto. I think Valery like spans up for people, you know?
Starting point is 00:34:02 Yeah, she has like the heart for the people. Yes. I think Reed has like a backstory for it, you know? Yeah, she has like the heart for the people. Yes. I think Reed has like a backstory for it, you know, where he's seen so many things and I can see him like turning his life around and like doing real good in the world. Okay, which character would you want to be stuck on an island with if you had to be? Ella, I always, whenever these questions come up, I want to say Valerie, but I always envision it as like me, like Ella and Valerie together. Like, I feel like I'm answering as like Ella, but again, I'm going to have to say that. Oh, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:34:37 I feel like Ella has street smarts though. So she might be able to like have the knowledge to like, like how to start a fire and stuff like those. I was going to say Ella, I'm like, she will find a a fire and stuff like this. That's how it's gonna say. Ella, I'm like, she will find a spoon. Yeah, she'll find a spoon. She'll build this a house. Like she figured out for us.
Starting point is 00:34:50 And Francesca says, and I'm just gonna sit back and get a tan. She's in the happy crew laugh. Ella makes sure that you are entertained. Yeah, well, how about its personality? Someone you want to spend a lot of time with and the other half is survival skills. Who do you think, who's going to help keep you alive? I vote Ella. Yeah Ella for sure she's also not she's not going to like complain about it she's not going to be like oh my god like you know Easter will be such a baby yeah maybe like why did this happen to me you know like I just think
Starting point is 00:35:20 Ella's going to be like okay we need to do this we need to do, we need to do this, we need to do this, we need to do this, and yeah, I completely agree. Ella, all the way. Yeah, agreed. All right, last question. Which character would you donate a kidney for? Oh, well, I'm just like every answer for me. Ella! I know, this silence is just so loud.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Um, I want to say, yeah, I'm saying Ella just because she came from such a rough spot and she really worked hard and she's so kind and tarted. But I mean, you could say that about a lot, you could say that about Lucy and Valerie as well. So I, and a lot of them, a lot of the other characters. I say, I love it because she deserves to live the good life for a chunk of time, you know. She's just had so many trials. And yeah, I think that that would be another trial that she
Starting point is 00:36:11 would overcome. And she just, she deserves to be a millionaire. Yeah, I think Ellos, Ellos it, I agree. I agree. I agree. All right. Moving on to our last game, trivia. Oh. All right. Let's see how much you guys remember from the show. These questions are going to get harder as we go.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Alyssa, if you don't win, I will be so just as well the answer. We don't have buzzers, so just yell the answer if you know it. Okay. All right. Question number one. What game do Ella and Val play together the night they meet? Super Smash Bros. Ding ding ding. Am I right? Yes.
Starting point is 00:36:54 One for Alyssa. Question two, what was read in Eastern's mother's name? Oh. Is it ever said? I don't think it's said. It is said. I can give you a hint. Starts with an M.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Is it Margaret? It's not, right? No, that's my name. Because that's my mom. Yeah. Mmm. Oh, doesn't Callum say it Maria. He says it on the set, right?
Starting point is 00:37:15 He says it on the private plane and like the first episode. Yes. That was good. That was really so in mind. That was a good one. First episode, yeah, that was good. Question three, what accessory makes Ella trust Callum? This is an good one. That was a first episode, yeah, that was good. Question three, what accessory makes Ella trust, Calum? This is an episode one.
Starting point is 00:37:29 Our dad's watch. Yes. Yep. Another point for Alyssa? Question four. What type of drink does hungover Eastern bring for Ella from the treasure cafe? The stashio milk latte.
Starting point is 00:37:42 Yes, I know. The stashio latte. I know, I know. I'm like, I go for it I know I'm like I go for it But I'm like she got it. No literally. I'm just like Alyssa We're serving them to you. We're volleying the Mova. What are the cove Academy's school bells modeled after? The wind minister chimes close right? Westman? West minister. Oh, What's the answer, Chines? Close. Right? When are you going to win? When are you going to win? Wessmen? Wessmenister!
Starting point is 00:38:07 Oh! Stephanie got it. Wessmenister Chines. It's the big Ben. You know, it was a big assist from Melissa. Well, at least you said it right. I said, what's mint in the minnest, it's like a nettie. Melissa already has four points, so we'll give Stephanie one.
Starting point is 00:38:22 Thank you. I've actually answered many, but not quick enough. What type of card does Calum gift Ella? A royal blue Lexus. Alexis. Yes. So let's look at it first. What kind of card does Brooke drive?
Starting point is 00:38:36 Porsche. That is correct. What part of LA does Dina live in? This is hard. I don't know, Beverly Hills. Where else would she live? I'll be good as guess. That would make sense. It would make. I don't know, Beverly Hills. Where else would she live? Yeah. I would be just guessing.
Starting point is 00:38:46 That would make sense. It would make sense for her to live in Beverly Hills, but she doesn't. I thought she had like a condo in downtown LA, but it comes from a club. Yeah, she. LA in DTS. It is a condo.
Starting point is 00:38:58 It's a penthouse. Brent, wasn't it Brentwood? Closer. There's a Santa Monica. So it's Santa Monica. Santa Monica. Yay! That's it. I'm sure it's got a pointoser. There's a Santa Monica. So it's Santa Monica. Santa Monica. Yay! That's it.
Starting point is 00:39:07 Princess Scott got a point. I got a pretty point. Good job. I didn't know that one. Like, I don't remember you ever hearing the location. It's a very minor detail in the script. The final point score, Stephanie with one, Francesco with one, and Alyssa with six.
Starting point is 00:39:24 So I think Alyissa is our winner. Marvel double-ish. You get it. Bragging rights. We're gonna win. All right, guys, now it's time for a bonus question. Bonus bonus. What is happening early fall 2023?
