And I hope that you guys come back in next year so we can serve you again.
Starting point is 00:00:46 It's crazy. I had so many people come to me and tell me, like, I've been to so many Funnel Hacking Lives and so many other events. And this was by far not just the best Funnel Hacking Live, but the best event period I've ever been to, which meant a lot. And I even had – it's interesting because one of the early – Brian Bowman, one of the early members in our community, he voxed me. He said, you know, it's interesting. He's like, I've been in your community a long time. And, you know, we were coming to the events and there was 600 people, then 1,000. And a lot of times as things get bigger, he's like the people that have been around a long time get kind of pushed out.
Starting point is 00:01:19 And he's like, it's just kind of, you know, they miss that special thing. He's like, I don't know how you did it. He's like, even with 4,500 people there, he's like, we all still felt special. Like it's still, it's still for, even for the people who've been around a long time, it was still amazing. It was, it was the best one yet. And so that meant a lot to me. And so we try to, anyway, we try to keep it cool. It's interesting because my vision for Nike Live, um, before going to the 10X event was like, we should have 35,000 people in the stadium. And now that we've, now that I've done that and it was not as intimate, it's harder to connect and communicate. like, we should have 35,000 people in the stadium. And now that I've done that, and it was not as intimate, it was harder to connect and communicate,
Starting point is 00:01:48 we decided to keep it smaller. And so, as I told you before, we're going back to Nashville next year in the same room, same ballroom, same stage. I told people after the Two Comma Club, my presentation, this is the same stage. The literal stage you'll be standing on next year if you get your Two Comma Club like look at that like and like like this is this is your spot and so um that was kind of that was kind of cool but i'm one of the same
Starting point is 00:02:13 spots so that means it's like um i think we get i think five thousand is like the fire marshal limit in the room so we could have an extra 500 people from this year but not much more and so we sold out every year in the past we'll sell it again this year um you know we you know, we are, um, less than a year away from it already. And so if you don't have your tickets, I highly recommend go just go to funnelhackinglive.com and go and get them. Prices will be raising soon. Other stuff will be happening, but, uh, I would get your tickets now and make that commitment right now while you're like remembering what it was like to be there, or while you're, you know, going through these recaps and like, and realizing you missed it, like make that commitment now to go and do it. Uh, get your ticket at funnelhackinglive.com. All right. With that said, we'll
Starting point is 00:02:47 keep the theme song and I'm going to talk you guys through what happened on day number four. So the big question is this, how are entrepreneurs like us who didn't cheat and take on venture capital? We're spending money from our own pockets. How do we market in a way that lets us get our products and our services and the things that we believe in out to the world and yet still remain profitable? That is the question and this podcast will give you the answer. My name is Russell Brunson and welcome to Marketing Secrets. All right, so day number four. This is the day where I like my stress starts going down. My stress is the biggest because, um, obviously I love getting the presentation so much fun,
Starting point is 00:03:29 but the stressful ones, like when I sell, right. And we, we only sell two things if I'm not liking live. Number one, well, we sold the traffic seeker software, but we sold it for free. So that was fun. Um, and then we have the donation for charities. So there's a charity that, and then, uh, we try to get people to upgrade to action XMD. So it's just, you know, and half the room already has this stuff for free anyway. And then the other one is the coaching, and then, uh, which I get people to upgrade to Action XMD. So it's just, you know, and half the room already has this stuff for free anyway. And then the other one is the coaching program. So, um, you know, it's, it's interesting. I used to go to events back in the day where every speaker would sell something and you
Starting point is 00:03:53 get like 50 pitches, send me a 10 X, like every speaker sold something. So just like that. We're here. It's like, you're really only one real sell. All the other ones are just like, they're little. Um, but the real sell is this coaching program. And it's like something I believe so much in. I've spent so much time and energy and money to make it amazing. And it's like, I think I get nervous cause I'm like, I know that people go through this, they're going to be
Starting point is 00:04:11 successful, but how do I convince them of that? Right. And, um, and so I tried to everything, my power to like give a presentation and make an offer that's so irresistible that, that people will take me up on it. And it's interesting, like I did this whole part of my presentation during the Secrets of the Two Common Club presentation I did yesterday. I talked about the difference between being resourceful and having resources. And I told the story of Kenneth Cole. And I may have told you guys a story before, but it's worth repeating. But Kenneth Cole, you guys know Kenneth Cole, the shoe company, right? When he was starting a shoe company, um, I think it was a new York and there was a big shoe show happening. Shoe show.
Starting point is 00:04:49 They say it's shoe trade show was happening. And so he went to go get a booth and they told him the cost of booth and he couldn't afford it. And most people would have stopped right there. Okay. And this is the lesson for you guys. I want you to understand most people would have stopped right there. But Kenneth Cole said, I don't have the resources.
Starting point is 00:05:02 I need to be resourceful. So he said, well, how about instead of, instead of buying a booth, what if I rented a truck and put it out in front of the venue and I have all my shoes in there and then everyone will see it as I'm coming through. He's like, that's a good idea. So he goes to rent a truck, like a big, huge truck. And the truck people are like, well, you know, they're not going to park it there. Like, he's like, well, why not? Like we have to have a permit to park a truck in front of a big building for, you know, for a, for during a convention. He's like, oh, and again, most people just stop there. Right. Like I don't have the resources to get a permit, but instead he's like, well, how do I do that? So he ran over to the, to the, you know, the state,
Starting point is 00:05:32 whatever the government and said, Hey, I need to get a permit to park my van in front of the shoe show. And shoe shows a tongue twister anyway. And, um, and they're like, dude, we're not giving you a permit. And like, why not? It's like only two people get a permit. First person is're like, dude, we're not giving you a permit. And they're like, why not? It's like only two people get a permit. First person is construction. If you're building something, you can get a permit. Or second is if you're making a movie.
Starting point is 00:05:58 And again, most people are like, okay, I guess I'm not building something. I'm not making a movie. I'm done. But Kenneth Cole, again, he didn't have the resources, so he had to be resourceful. So he went back and he, uh, he went to the city, filed a business license. He called his company name, Kenneth Cole productions, went across the store to Kinko's or wherever FedEx goes and got business cards printed. Said Kenneth Cole productions, walked back to the place where he gets the permit and said, Hey, my name is Kenneth Cole. I'm filing a permit. I'm making a movie called the making of a shoe. And I need Shoe, and I need a permit for my truck.
Starting point is 00:06:25 And they granted him the permit. He got the truck, parked the truck in front of the shoe show, didn't have money for actual video cameras. He had a bunch of people with cameras with no tape in it walking around, pretend filming him. And it had the big thing like, we're making a movie called The Birth of a Shoe Company. And every single person who went to the shoe show that weekend, the trade show, walked past his truck out front. And that's how he built his huge company, which is a huge company to this day. Um, and in fact, to this day, his company is still called Kenneth Cole productions. And he said, the reason why, because it's a tribute to his belief in, uh, or his ability to focus on being resourceful as opposed to having resources. And so I understand like higher, you
Starting point is 00:07:04 know, sign up for a coaching program. It's, I don't have the resources. I don't have the money. And yet I try to like, how do I break that belief? Because I didn't have money when I joined my coaching programs. Most people don't, but like, but it's also the reason why I had success because I didn't have the money. So I, I, I went into debt and I had this pressure. I had these things. I had to like figure things out. Like it forced me to do things. And so, um, I told the stories in a way to break false beliefs and a lot of people that breaks false beliefs. But for some people, again, for some reason they don't listen, they don't hear with the right ears and they don't sign up. Like my mind, I'm like, like the 4,500 people, we should have had 4,000 that joined the program. Like it just makes logical sense. Like why
Starting point is 00:07:35 wouldn't you at this point? But obviously that doesn't happen ever. Right. Um, and so that's kind of, that's, that's kind of why I stressed out over the day three. So day four, like I have less stress because like I've done my, my sales pitch is done. People that are in or in and I kind of relax. So we moved to Saturday and what's interesting is Saturday starts happening. And, um, the very first person to speak is Garrett White and the presentation was going to be called the gap, right? Like there's a gap to where you are and where you don't want to go. And like, how do you fill that up? And he started doing this presentation and in true Garrett White fashion, he is so intense. Like I love him and he swears a lot and you know i don't swear i'm not
Starting point is 00:08:09 i'm not a big fan of swearing but um i believe in him i believe in his mission i i think he does it with uh with a pure heart even if the words aren't pure if that makes sense um anyway so it's funny my mom was there and she's like i was like mom do not come to the session whatever you do and i warned everyone like if if you're offended by the f word please don't come because yeah in fact i even tried to bribe garrett i told him i'd wear a custom suit to his next event if he didn't drop the the f word and he lasted like a minute 30 and he's like ah fine or else you can wear shorts if you want i can't i can't not swear um he does the presentation and half through the presentation this kid comes up uh named andy and andy comes up and just like i need to talk to everyone or something i don't
Starting point is 00:08:43 know the whole situation and garrett you know could have he should have like had to sit back down but he's like he's like took this moment it's like okay he brings this kid up right you can tell the kid's in pain you can tell that he is not happy where he's at he wants to he wants to grow wants to do whatever but in his mind he's saying i don't have the resources to do this thing um so garrett brings him on stage and has him does do burpeespees and pushups and I don't even know what he's doing. He's trying to break this guy's state, I think, and try to, anyway, I'm sure there's a purpose behind it all.
Starting point is 00:09:10 And then he basically asks him flat out, like, it's like, okay, what's your goal? And the guy's like, goal is, two column will come, we'll be on stage next year. He's like, cool. Do you sign up for the coaching program? Like, no.
Starting point is 00:09:19 He's like, that's not your goal. It's a fantasy. Like, you're dreaming about it, but you're not willing to put in the effort. The guy's like, well, I don't have, I don't have the resources. I don't have the money to do it. And Garrett laughed. He said, you know, that's not your goal. It's a fantasy. Like you're dreaming about it, but you're not willing to put in the effort. The guy's like, well, I don't have the resources. I don't have the money to do it. And Garrett laughed.
Starting point is 00:09:29 He said, you know, 10 years ago, I was in a room just like this. And he's like, I couldn't do it either. In fact, my wife was going to leave me if I did it. He's like, but I knew I had to because these guys had given me a window. I believed in myself. And so I had to be resourceful, and I figured it out. And he's like, it changed everything for me. And Garrett kind of going through the story and kind of pushing him a little bit, you know, like, look, if you're, if you're honestly like, he's like, you need to make
Starting point is 00:09:51 commitment. If the commitment's no, like, you know, I'm not going to do it then, then, then that's fine. But if you say my commitments, I'm going to commit to myself. I'm going to be on stage and do a comic book award. It means the next 12 months you're gonna make a million bucks. So if you know you're gonna make it, if you are committing to yourself, make that your goal and you're gonna make a million bucks next 12 months, what's 2,500 bucks a month for the coaching program? It's nothing. So if you honestly, if you believe in yourself, if you committed to yourself this, this, this commitment, then you should go do it. And it's funny cause I, I didn't tell Garrett to sell for me. He wasn't planning on selling for me. He had nothing, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:19 he doesn't get a penny for it, but he's helping this guy through this decision, which, which is in proxy of everyone else sitting here is thinking like, if you honestly believe in yourself and you honestly believe, believe in it, this doesn't cost you any money ever. Right. Only cost you money. If you don't believe in yourself, like I'm not actually going to do, I'm going to, you know, I'm going to say I'm going to do it, but I'm going to, it's a fantasy, but I know I'm not going to put the work and I know I'm not going to do what it takes to make it successful. Then you ask a lot of money, but if you do, you know, $25,000 out of a million is not a lot of money, but it is if you don't believe in yourself, if you're not actually committing and covenanting to do that thing. And so Garrett kind of just pushed him a little bit.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Finally, the kid makes this commitment. You know, and I say kid, he's 25 years old. He said, all right, I'm going to do it. And he marches to the back and he signs up. And anyway, it's interesting. And then Garrett does the rest of the presentation and he ends up getting like 80 people come on stage and Garrett closes 80 more people on the coaching based on the same concept.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Just like, like, look, you guys, if you honestly believe you're going to do this, like you have, like, don't make this a fantasy. I can make it a real thing. And, um, anyway, it was, it was amazing. And then, um, after, and I'm going to come back to that. Well, yeah, it's interesting because, um, there were a lot of people who were like freaking out for this guy, right? And for Andy and like – and we got people on social media who are like blowing up like, oh, what's happening? Funneling Live, they're hard-selling people.
Starting point is 00:11:35 And it was weird because I didn't know what to believe. In fact, for the last week, I've been like contemplating this. Like it's been interesting. And I watched in the last week is Andy is because he made that commitment. Like he launched his first funnel yesterday. Like literally within seven days of like live, he launched his first funnel and I don't know how it's doing. It's probably not gonna be the biggest homerun in the world, but he launched it. Okay. When he didn't have the resources, he called his dad who does have resources. Dad helped fund the thing. And now he's building a webinar for his dad's business and he's going to make money there.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Right. He, he shifted from like, I don't have the resources thing that keep most people back to, I need to be resourceful. If I honestly believe in myself, if I, if I, if I'm not making a fantasy by making an actual goal, I believe I'm going to hit it. Then I need to, I need to put my money where my mouth is. Right. So I'm watching it and, and I'm seeing Andy Facebook live every day and like do these things that how grateful he is that Garrett pushed him and how grateful he was. And then on the flip side, I had people, you know, in the Facebook group, other places who were like so mad about it, like, Oh, you shouldn't be doing that to people. You shouldn't be doing things. And
Starting point is 00:12:33 yeah, the person that happened to was so grateful for the experience because it got them off their butt. It got them to shift, you know, it did the thing it needed to do. And it's just interesting. And, um, you know, kind and kind of in reflection for last week. It's interesting because you guys see how I sell. I don't sell hard like that. I tell stories to break false beliefs. But what Garrett did was amazing and got so many people to shift. And I know, I guarantee, I guarantee.
Starting point is 00:13:03 If I was a betting man, I'd bet on this. I bet there'll be at least a dozen, if not more, people who come on stage next year and get two comic book awards because Garrett made that shift. And I bet you money Andy's going to hit it too. Anyway, we'll see, but I'm pretty sure it's going to happen. And so anyway, I'm going to put that out there because it's interesting. It made some people uncomfortable and that's why they were voiced
Starting point is 00:13:27 their opinion, which is totally cool. I understand that. Um, um, and it was, again, that wasn't my plan to prepare it or knew it was happening. You know, Garrett wasn't doing it happening just in the heat of the moment. Um, when you're coaching somebody through something like it, it comes out and it was just, anyway, it was interesting, but I'm grateful to Garrett did it. Um, I'm, I know Andy's grateful that he did, and I think that so many people who took that leap of faith because of that presentation. It was fascinating. Then after that, then Myron Goldeneye got back up, and Myron shared some cool stories like he always does. Just kind of give people one last
Starting point is 00:14:05 push, like, Hey, this is your last chance. And we talked for 30 minutes and we said, okay, 30 minute countdown clock, um, is your last chance to have two comic Becks. And then it's done. And then as soon as Brandon Bouchard sits on stage, this offer is gone. It's off the table and it's over. And so, but when we did that, had 30 minute break, much more people signed up and, uh, and we launched year two of the two comic Becks coaching program program which i'm really excited for we've got um i think about i don't know the exact numbers 550 people um signed up at the event plus an additional um about 300 from last year who are who are in for round two which is going to be fun so it's an amazing program about 800 people or so in the program and um and this year it's fun because we've got a huge coaching infrastructure
Starting point is 00:14:46 built in and she gets to see behind the scenes what's happening. It's amazing. So if we decide to ever open this up during the year, you guys should jump in. But right now we only sell at events. Um, so we'll see what happens in the future. But that was awesome. Then after the break, uh, we came back and then Brendan Bouchard came up and did his high performance Academy presentation talking about six habits of high performers and it was amazing like i i love brendan i've known him for more than a decade but i've never actually seen him speak like that like you know it's the front row it's his his his keynote presentation when he loves you tell the energy in the room was amazing he was jumping around like crazy it was just it was it was awesome people laughed they cried it was it was oh it was so good i appreciate
Starting point is 00:15:23 brendan for coming in um you know again i didn pay him a penny. He flew in his own dime to come out here and, and to, to share with the group cause he cares and cause he believes, um, which was awesome. So that when he was done, then we broke to lunch. Um, cause we were way over time at this point. All these things we're supposed to do just went way over time. Uh, we broke to lunch and all the two comic club expires. We did a special waffle lunch for them and had a chance to go in there, say hi to him really quick. And then, then um the kind of the coaching program began right there which was exciting and then uh during lunch lindsey sterling ah this is so cool lindsey sterling came and like got everything set up for her her speakers and her everything their band
Starting point is 00:15:55 showed up and then uh we let inner circle in we let two comic club x come in everyone came in and then um had a chance to meet lindsey behind stage really quickly and then she came out and gave this performance and And I was excited. I thought it was going to be good. But it was so much better than I had hoped for. I remember I came off after the performance was done. I came backstage. And all of the people on the production company were like, that was insane.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Like we were not expecting that. That was, oh, it was so good. Like the performance was good. The lights, the music, like everything was so good. And then she would go to the mic every once in a while and say things and like man she related to our audience so well like because she's she's a marketer like us right she grew up on youtube and all these things and like she told these stories that were about like it was i wish i don't know how to like explain it was so so amazing and when she got done that she went up
Starting point is 00:16:41 really quick and took a quick break for her to kind of get reset and everything and then i had a chance to bring her out on stage and i got to interview her and ask her some questions. And it was crazy because like I was leading questions like because I wanted the answers. And like the answers she gave were not what I was leading towards, but they were better. Like, for example, as you guys know, she was on America Got Talent. She made it three or four episodes in and then on the big national TV with like 30 million people watch, she got kicked off. And they told her she was no good. And so I was asking her a question about that. Cause I wanted her to say
Starting point is 00:17:09 like, you know, but I realized like, you know, screw you. I'm, I am good. And I came back and I built my own thing. But then her response was so much different and so much better than what I, like what I had dreamt of. She was like, she was like, you know, I went home after that. And, um, and I remember watching myself on TV and, and I had the realization that they were right. I wasn't good enough. She said, you know what? So I kind of went back, and for the next 18 months, I went back and I learned how to dance better.
Starting point is 00:17:31 I learned how to play the violin better. I learned how to engage with the audience better. I learned these things. I spent 18 months to get where I could be good enough. Then I went out and I started doing these videos and these videos. I was doing on YouTube the first video, second, third, fourth. It wasn't until I had this one video that I'm crystallized, and it was my best one so far, and I started doing these videos and these videos. And like, you know, I was doing on YouTube, the first video, second, third, fourth. And it wasn't until I had this one video and I'm crystallized and it was my best one so far. And I put it out there.
Starting point is 00:17:49 And for some reason that one blew up, boom. And it built my following millions and millions of views in the first 24 hours. And like, and she's like, but that point I was good enough. Like I had worked, I'd worked it and I'd earned it. And I was finally good enough for the success. And I was like getting chill. I just got chills again telling that story. I'm like, oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Like, you know, somebody was thinking, it's like, no, screw you. Like I'm good enough. It's like, no, no, no, no, no. If someone's telling you I'm good enough, like, don't, I don't, don't fight like that. Do what Lindsay did and be like, you know what? I'm they're right. I'm not good enough. And then get back to work and then you can become good enough. And, um, Oh, it was so powerful. That was like one of like her messages. Like there were so many, so many good things. She's amazing. Um, anyway, I can't even thank her enough.
Starting point is 00:18:28 That was, it was so much better than I'd hoped for. Hey, funnel hackers. I want to talk about building your business. And what's funny is like, I think we raised like, I can't remember. It was from like 400 and something thousand dollars, which is amazing, right? And then we matched it.
Starting point is 00:21:01 So we're like at 850 something thousand dollars. And my mom sold the quilt for like 78,000. So we were like, I don't knowsomething thousand dollars. And my mom sold the quilt for like $78,000. So we were like, I don't know the exact numbers, but we were like $100,000 away from a million. I wanted a million so bad. And so we had this big, huge check in the back. I'm about to write numbers on it. And it was like, you know, 800 and whatever the number was.
Starting point is 00:21:17 And Todd's like, do you want to just round it up? I'm like, what do you mean? He's like, let's just round it up. Like, we should give him at least a million bucks. I was like, are you serious? He's like, yep. I'm like, oh, I love you, you todd so we rounded up to a million bucks and we um we're able to give them a check for a million dollars on stage which was so cool two years in a row a
Starting point is 00:21:31 million bucks each year um uh which that's and it's in the side you say like in a check it's like what's this for it's for the lives of 400 children because that million dollars will save 400 children from slavery um which is amazing And I'm so grateful for everyone in the ClickFunnels community for donating money and putting it out there. And like, and so many of you guys, you know, I know after the Funnel Hacking Live last year went and like showed the documentary, people, people raised money, people ran their own events, like millions of other dollars were produced because of what happened at Funnel Hacking Live.
Starting point is 00:22:01 And I'm sure the same thing happened this year as well. And I just want to thank all, everyone who was there who participated and played full out, but that was Funnel Hacking Live. And I'm sure the same thing happened this year as well. And I just want to thank everyone who was there who participated and played full out. But that was Fun Hockey Live. And it ended and it was such an amazing experience. Starting point is 00:22:19 who paid money to come and took time away from work and from family to be there. I don't take that lightly. And I try to serve at the highest level possible. I feel like this event did that. I think it changed people's lives. There's so much tactical, amazing stuff, so much strategy, so many just ahas, the networking, like the entertainment, like I don't know what else, what else I could do to make it better. I'm nervous for next year, but we will do, we will, we will do our best to make it better for next year. But if you didn't come, I promise you it'll be worth your time. Someone posted on Facebook the other day, I saw it in my newsfeed, it said, Russell Brunson
Starting point is 00:22:48 promised to follow Michael Lave and change life. Did it change yours? Question mark. My comment and the answers, or my answer in the comments or something. I was like, oh crap. Someone who's like had a bad experience or something, right? And I read it and they start saying, you know, Russell told me that was gonna change my life. I wasn't going to go. And I finally decided to go. And I have to tell you, it literally changed my life. And they went and told the whole experience of what happened and who they met and how it transformed stuff. And I was like, oh my gosh, like, how cool is that? Um, and then everyone else are posting. Yes, it's changed my life too. Yes, it did. Yes, it did. It was just like, that's the feeling you want after, after all the work and
Starting point is 00:23:19 the effort goes into it. So I appreciate all you guys who sacrificed your time and your money to come to the event.
