Starting point is 00:00:33 Today, I'm going to talk to you about how I made over $3 million in just 90 short minutes. So, the big question is this. How are entrepreneurs like us, who didn't cheat and take on venture capital, who are spending money from our own pockets, how do we market in a way that lets us get our products and our services and the things that we believe in out to the world and yet still remain profitable? That is the question and this podcast will give you the answers. My name is Russell Brunson and welcome to Marketing Secrets.
Starting point is 00:01:12 All right, everybody. So unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard everybody talking about what happened last weekend, which was kind of crazy. So I had a chance to speak at Grant Cardone's 10X event. And yes, the rumors are true. We did my presentation at the end. I sold a special offer and we sold over $3 million in sales, not just contracts, but collected cash in the bank in just 90 short minutes. And I've got a ton of questions coming in from all over the place about how we did it, why we did it, and all sorts of craziness.
Starting point is 00:01:37 And so I just wanted to use this episode to kind of tell you the whole backstory and to show you the actual process, how we did it. And then at the end, I've got 12 questions that a lot of you guys are asking as well that I was gonna kind of cover and so that's kind of game plan so with that said I'll kind of jump back in the back story so a couple years ago was the first time I ever heard about Grant Cardone one of the guys that works for me Randy Grizzle
Starting point is 00:01:57 he he came to me and said something about Grant Cardone I'm like who's that he's like he's this guy and he showed me some videos I was like oh so he came aware of him then I started following him and just started seeing his stuff. Last year, probably a year and a half ago, he decided he was going to launch an event. He called it the 10X Growth Con. He launched this event. I was not one of the speakers when they launched it. As they started launching, it started getting bigger and bigger. Finally, one of my friends, Brian Post, he reached out to me and said, hey, you should really speak at this event. It's going to be a big deal. I'm like, I don't have time to speak at events anymore
Starting point is 00:02:27 as much as I would love to. And he's like, no, this is one I think it'd be worth for you to do. So he introduced me to somebody over there and next thing we knew I was on the page as one of the speakers. And I didn't know Grant Cardone at the time. He didn't know me.
Starting point is 00:02:39 In fact, we had a call before the event to find out what I was going to talk about. And I kind of told him and he's like, well, I want you to, I still remember, was like, you know, I've had other people like internet guys try to sell stuff and you know, they're not very good at it. In fact, when you go out there, just go and tell them the price first, then just talk about it and the people will buy. And I was like, you know, you guys know my backstory. I've been doing this for a long time for over a decade and I've spoken on stages a lot and I know the process. And I was like, well,
Starting point is 00:03:01 this is the way I want to do it. And they're like, no, no, no. Like just do it our way and it'll work. And I was like, okay. And in my head, I was like, no, I'm doing it my way. Like I know it works, but I didn't want to like be weird on their first relationship or first call. So I was like, okay. So we went to that event. I think there was, I can't remember how many people, it was either 2,200 or 2,800. I don't remember the exact numbers, but we got there and you know, we showed up, Dave, Dave Woodard and I showed up at a big box of order, you know, a box full of order forms. And we asked him, okay, when I speak tomorrow, I need a couple sales tables, I need staff to help man the tables and to close sales, and they were like, why would you do that?
Starting point is 00:03:31 We don't have staff for you, and I was like, this is how it works, and they didn't have any respect for me at the time, they'd never seen me close or sell, and so I couldn't get them to even give me literally a table to sell from, and so I'm like, okay, well, this is how we sell so luckily Alex and Layla Hermosi who are inner circle members and two comic club winners and soon to be eight figure award winners they were in the audience as well and I said hey can you guys help us close sales make sure where's the table like there's no table here so there's like three door exit doors so Dave was at one
Starting point is 00:04:03 door with a box of applications and the like a handful of pens we bought at Staples the night before and so was Alex and Layla and so when I did my whole thing and I did my close and people started running to the sides to sign up and Dave and Alex and Layla were pulling order forms out of a box trying to sign up people and in a short 30 minute window there they were able to close just shy of a million dollars in sales
Starting point is 00:04:22 I don't remember exactly what it was but I know it was almost a million but but not quite, in sales in this thing. And I remember telling them afterwards, because I got off stage and Grant Cardone came up to me. The first time we actually met in person, he was like, I've never seen something like that before. I'm like, what? He's like, I've never seen a table rush like that. People are running to the side to buy your stuff. I was like, yeah, I kind of told you guys that, but nobody believed me.
Starting point is 00:04:43 And anyway, I was like, that's how the process works. And, um, and, uh, anyway, I remember afterwards, uh, he was like, I want you to show me how to do that. So if you watch some of the faces or some of the interviews he'd done with me afterwards, it was always about that. Like I never seen someone do that before. Like that was the coolest thing in the world. And, uh, anyway, so, uh, about a month or so later, they called me on the phone and they're like, Hey, we're thinking about doing another event. This time we're going to try to get about 9,000 people at it, do you wanna speak at it? And I was like, well, first off,
Starting point is 00:05:07 I don't think that's possible, get 9,000 people to the event, but the last event was so good, I think we could, if you do it again, I'm more than willing to come. So they're like, cool. He's like, you're gonna be our big money speaker, and they put me on the thing,
Starting point is 00:05:19 and they started promoting this thing for the next year. And lo and behold, despite my skepticism they had 9 000 people in the room like it was crazy um it was in vegas in the mandalay bay in the huge arena that you know i know they do boxing matches there they do concerts there like it was crazy and um and so they they filled it out so probably about a month and a half two months ago um we did a call from before the event that okay this is what's happening, you know, we're gonna, you know, I think they had sold like 8,500 tickets at the time, they're like, we're gonna have all 9,000 sold,
Starting point is 00:05:49 and I was like, oh crap, and so we started talking about how to do the sales process, and they're like, okay, what's gonna happen, we're gonna have an app on the phone, so you just get up and tell everyone to buy on the app, and that's how you'll do your table rush. I was like, no, that'll kill all the momentum, and they're like, no, that's how it works,
Starting point is 00:06:02 I'm like, no, like, please, please, do not list me on the app. And they didn't. All the other speakers were in the app with their price points and they just click a button to buy. I'm like, please don't put me in the app. Like, the whole social psychology of selling happens when people stand up and they're all running to go buy something.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Like, please don't take that away from me, please. So they agreed to not put me in the thing. And then I was like, okay, we need tables. And they're like, well, how is it going to work? Like, this arena, there's three levels. Bottom floor, first floor, second floor, third floor. And, um, and then it's like this huge, it's like a big basketball arena. Right. And so it's like, there's people that can go all around the whole thing. And they're like, how are you going to do this? I'm like, I don't
Starting point is 00:06:36 know. Let's, let's brainstorm this. We spent the next couple of weeks kind of brainstorm out this process. Um, and so, uh, obviously I wanted to go in prepared, but the biggest problem was like, I can't just be like, run to the back of the room and sign up, because I'm like, run to the back of the room, unless you're on the second or third floor, fourth floor, you know, second floor, then you gotta run up the stairs
Starting point is 00:06:53 and run halfway around the hallway to the other, you know, and it's just, oh, I'm so stressed out. Like, how are we gonna make this work? And so as I was planning this, I was talking to a lot of people, and one really good idea that I got from Brendan Bouchard, some of you guys know Brendan, he told me he spoke at a big event like that one time, and said what he did is he, he said afterwards people always want to get pictures with you,
Starting point is 00:07:11 which is true, I was like stuck in the casinos, and the elevators, and everywhere, people trying to get pictures with me, but he said what he did is he put up a picture booth right next to the sales table, and he said anyone who signs up today, you can get a picture with me, so you can have it, and he said what happened is that, you know, a bunch of people ran over to buy and they get in line. So what happened, it took an hour or so to do this picture. So everyone's seeing this big line of people and some more people coming over and coming over.
Starting point is 00:07:33 And he says, you just have a bill to keep closing from social proof for like an hour or so afterwards. And I was like, that's a really cool idea. So I decided to take that idea and a bunch of other ones. And this is kind of how we choreographed it. So the first thing you should know from stage selling, one of the biggest things you don't want people to do is like when you're about to make your offers to hand out order forms. People always do this and it drives me crazy. They get to their pitch and they're like, all right, everyone hand
Starting point is 00:07:54 out the order forms. Everyone starts handing out the order forms. Also, everyone's like looking at each other, getting the order forms, handing it, they're reading the thing. They stop focusing on the speaker. When I stopped handing out order forms, my sales rate dramatically shot up. So I have a rule that's like never hand out order forms ever make them go to the back of the room to get the order form that for therefore creates the the table rush to the back but the problem we had this way is first off if we wanted to have an order forms we couldn't because there's 9 000 seats that's impossible second thing is um because there's like tables on like different levels and things like that like it's just. It would have been a nightmare.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Even, as I'll get to in a minute, it took about three hours to process, just get people to fill out the order forms because it was so many people. So I was like, we need to figure out a way to get order forms in their hands without them knowing there's an order form because if they have an order form,
Starting point is 00:08:40 it's going to kill the sales. And so I was like, how are we going to do this? And also we had this idea for the sneak attack. So let me show you what the sneak attack is. Those who are watching this live, if you're hearing it and you want to see it, go to kill the sales. And so I was like, how are we going to do this? And also we had this idea for the sneak attack. So let me show you what the sneak attack is. Those who are watching this live, if you're hearing it and you want to see it, go to marketingsecrets.com and you can actually see the video of this. That'd be explaining this right now. If you're listening to the podcast, they'll just kind of walk through with me. So first thing I did, I was like, okay, what if we gave them all packets? So this is the packet right here. I was like, inside this packet,
Starting point is 00:09:01 we were going to have two things. Number one is the order form, because this is what they need to have to fill out. And I'm gonna have as little detail as possible on the order form, just enough to know what they're getting and then have the ability for them to fill it out. So this is the order form. I'm like, I want this on everyone's chair, but I don't want them to see an order form. And second thing is like,
Starting point is 00:09:16 most people aren't gonna have a pen, right? If I got 9,000 people potentially buying, there's no pen, so I need to sneak attack a pen into everyone's seat. So the goal was to sneak attack this order form and this pen into everybody's seat without them knowing that there's an order form there. That's why we put in this really cool package.
Starting point is 00:09:29 It looks awesome. And then inside of it we put a couple things. Number one, we put in these really cool iBuild Funnel stickers. One that goes on your laptop, one that goes on your phone. So they get these, like here's a gift from Russell. Reciprocity, right? Here's this really cool sticker.
Starting point is 00:09:40 And then number two, we've given these cool pop sockets that go on the back of your phone that say Funnel Hacker. So I was able to do a couple things. One is I actually demoed how to use these during my presentation. Number two, they put these on the phone now. Now they're part of our community, they're Funnel Hackers. So these two gifts that were there.
Starting point is 00:09:55 And then I had a note sheet for my presentation. So I get out the sheet in here, you can open it up, and you can take notes, what we're talking about. So all of these three things, the whole goal of these is to be so cool and exciting that people do not notice the fact that there's a sneaky little order form and a pen inside the envelope.
Starting point is 00:10:10 This is how we are Trojan horsing an order form into every single seat in the entire arena. And then we had this, the envelope, and the back was a big, huge sticker that said, warning, do not open until Russell Brunson's presentation begins. That was on the back of the sticker. So that was the plan.
Starting point is 00:10:23 We started getting these all printed, like 9,000 were printed and put together, but then the problem happened is that we found out that the seats for the event, they don't lay flat, they pop up when people aren't sitting on them. So our envelopes wouldn't sit on their seats because they would pop up and they'd fall to the ground. So we're like, crap, now we gotta figure out a way
Starting point is 00:10:39 to make sure that these packets actually stay on their desk. And then we went and ordered 9,000 of these bags and say ClickFunnels on it. And then we put the packet inside the bags and hung the bags on the chair. So then the next question is like, well, how do we get 9,000 of these out to everybody? And so we had to figure out how to do it.
Starting point is 00:10:55 So we ended up doing it the night before I spoke. After the event was over, I think we hired 10 or 15 different temp workers, plus we had about 10 people from our team. And they went out to every single chair and took the packet, put it inside the envelope, and hung it on a chair. It took them about two and a half or three hours
Starting point is 00:11:08 to get the entire thing, to blanket the entire audience with the Trojan horse order forms wrapped up with a whole bunch of cool gifts and things like that. So that was the thing. Then the way it was gonna happen is that after somebody decided to buy, they were going to run to, if they were in VIP,
Starting point is 00:11:24 there was a VIP room at the table. If they were on the bottom floor, there was two tables in the back of the bottom floor and if they were anywhere in the bowl around, they'd go section 118. So some people would run up the stairs and it was right there. Some people would run up the stairs
Starting point is 00:11:33 and run clear around the whole thing and then what they would do is they would order, they would take the order form right here. They'd fill out the order form and then take it to someone on our team and then someone on our team would then hand them this packet right here,
Starting point is 00:11:45 so it's Funnel Builder Secrets, what they bought. Then they could open up this thing up, and then a couple things inside of it, they pull it out, and number one is here's the thing that shows them how to claim what they just purchased, so it shows them how to go online, what's gonna happen, and how we're gonna text them their login, and if they have any issues, their support issues.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Number two is there's a letter to their business partner, their spouse, explaining what they just bought so that when they get home, they're not like, why did you spend this money? And then number three was a golden ticket that said you can come get a picture with Russell. So they were handed this packet back. They were supposed to rip this open,
Starting point is 00:12:16 grab the golden ticket out, and then run up to 118 to stand in line to get pictures with me. And on top of that, we gave some other cool bonuses. We gave them the Funnel Hacker cookbook if they brought this to us, and we also gave them the expertsecrets.com Secrets Audiobook that they could plug into the air and listen to on their ride home. So those are the two things we had created to get them to buy.
Starting point is 00:12:33 So that was kind of the game plan. So we went out there. The second thing is that I was going to do my presentation. But the problem is that everybody at the year before had seen my presentation. We'd signed up, I think, 450, almost 500 people the year before in 1997. And then over the last 12 months, Grant has been promoting that presentation like crazy.
Starting point is 00:12:53 So I think like half a million people have seen that presentation through him and his audience. We sold a lot of ClickFunnels because of it. Thank you, Grant, we love you. But I was like, I can't give the exact same presentation to the same audience who's pretty much already seen this thing. But I needed to give the same framework
Starting point is 00:13:05 of the presentation because the framework is what sells ClickFunnels, which has been proven to sell ClickFunnels, and I couldn't make the same offer because we were charging more. First off, we're charging $3,000, and then number two, not only were we charging $3,000, we were trying, obviously I needed to create a better offer
Starting point is 00:13:21 because I wanted everyone who bought last year to buy again and a bunch of other things, and so that was some of the groundwork. So why do we raise the price of $3,000? Why? A bunch of reasons. Number one is my goal was when we first started, my goal was to make $3 million in an hour and a half. And this is the reason why. When you do an event like this, 50% of what you sell goes to the person who's hosting the event. You keep the other 50%. And so my goal was to try to make, I wanted to net a million dollars an hour. That way if somebody ever asked me how much I charge an hour,
Starting point is 00:13:49 I could be like, well, it's a million dollars an hour. So that was kind of my selfish reason why I wanted, that was my goal, so I was like, hey, if 9,000 people, if we can close one out of nine at 3,000 bucks a piece, that'd be three million dollars, which means I netted a million dollars an hour for an hour and a half, which would be really, really cool. So that was the goal going into it.
Starting point is 00:14:07 And so because of that, I took my framework, my presentation, and I retweaked it, rechanged it. But the structure was still the same. I customized it very specific to their audience because I know who their audience is now. I know what they're looking for, the types of businesses they have, what their major concerns were. So we crafted the presentation to speak directly to them,
Starting point is 00:14:24 and then we made the offer speak directly to them and then we made the offer better we added a bunch more cool things we had funnel scripts for a year we had traffic secrets a bunch of other cool things and so the presentation was similar to ones i've done in the past but it was definitely upgraded um for this event and so i got on stage uh excuse me it's crazy we got there i was supposed to speak the grant was supposed to speak the second day and i was speak right after him we got there and grant's voice was gone like grant can't speak so you're up right now i'm like oh i'm not ready for this and I was supposed to speak right after him. We got there, and Grant's voice was gone. I'm like, Grant can't speak, so you're up right now. I'm like, oh, I'm not ready for this.
Starting point is 00:14:47 And so we had to kind of scramble, get everything together. And they introduced me. I came on stage and did my presentation. And at the end of the presentation, I sold. And from that, we had over $3 million collected from the presentation. And we're still, I think we have another probably half a million or so in declines we're going through right now. But all said and done, it's going to be somewhere between $3.5 to $4 million.
Starting point is 00:15:12 But for simplicity's sake, we made at least more than $3 million in 90 minutes, which means I netted more than $1 million an hour for an hour and a half of my time, which was amazing, and it was cool. So that's kind of behind the scenes. Um, some of the tricks and the things that we did to make sure that that actually worked. Um, I hope I, I'm sure I missed some things. Um, Oh yeah. And so after I did my whole presentation, we closed. Um, it was crazy. Like they took me, they, they, they had security guards, the security guard took me back and people were running to all the different, eight different
Starting point is 00:15:42 places, right? Like I see people running to the, to the VIP table. I saw people running to the back table. People were running up the stairs. It was weird because typically when I get a table rush, usually it's in a smaller room and you hear the hustle and the bustle and so it's really, really loud. A lot of times, the fact I do a table rush, it'll get so loud in the room during the table rush
Starting point is 00:15:56 I can't even finish my presentation. Whereas this one, because the stadium was so big, I heard a lot of rustling but it didn't get loud. It was kind of this weird thing. I'm like, I have no idea if people are actually buying. I heard a lot of rustling, but it didn't get loud. It was kind of this weird thing. I'm like, I have no idea if people are actually buying. I was kind of nervous. So I ended later when I went off stage and then security guards took me to the bathroom, got me a drink and then took me back up to where the pitcher booth was at. And I got to the pitcher booth. I walked through the door and I look out there and I see this section that had all these extensions. I think
Starting point is 00:16:19 this is called the people weave back and forth and about five or six levels deeper, all these people as far both directions as i could see and people told me later that the line literally wrapped around the entire arena um i stood there and people come in shake their hands take a picture next person next person next person and took like three and a half or four hours with the pictures over i don't know thousand twelve hundred people whatever it was a picture after picture after picture like i remember my face being really sore when i got married on my wedding night. This was like that, but way worse, way longer, just the perma smile. It was crazy. It was awesome. Then we went back home. I went back to the hotel that night, went to the
Starting point is 00:16:53 room. We had eight or nine people sitting there trying to process all the transactions as fast as they could, which was really cool as well. Just seeing these huge stacks of order forms and seeing our whole team go through processing orders. And then what happens is by the time it's done, we processed, I think we had in the bank like 2.4 million, but there was like 800 plus thousand dollars of failed credit card payments. So next morning we sent an email
Starting point is 00:17:19 and we also texted everybody whose credit card failed to come back to the table. So by the time I woke up in the morning, I came down. The booth, the 10X booth was there, and there was a line of people, four or five people deep, like wrapping through the stands. It was like a big line of probably, I don't know, 50 to 60 people in line to get their credit cards updated. And then we texted Grant and his team and said, hey, this was awesome. I'm like, I think I could push people over the edge.
Starting point is 00:17:46 This is a group full of salespeople. They probably want to learn how to sell. What if I did a special one-day event where I showed them how to sell the web I just sold? And if you can give me 10 minutes, I think I can close another, who knows, worth of people. And so they agreed. So they let me get back on stage the next day
Starting point is 00:17:59 for about 10 minutes, come up there, and basically tell everyone, hey, yep, we did $3 million in sales. If you guys want to see what we did, everyone who already signed up, congratulations. You get this for free. I'm doing a one-day workshop. I'm going to walk you through how we do our presentation.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And then for those who didn't, now's the time. Pushing you over the edge. Stand up right now. Go get signed up, and you'll get this bonus as well. And apparently, we got about another $250,000, $300,000 in sales that came from that, from the double close. We nicknamed it the double close. So it was the second clothes on the second day
Starting point is 00:18:26 and it was really really cool and yeah I think anything else I want to share with you guys so we do that with the double clothes and it was it was amazing such a fun experience so alright so with that said I've there's 12 questions that Julie's story and pulled off of Facebook people were asking like crazy I probably at already answered some of these but I I'm going to go through it anyway. And then she's probably going to turn this into a really cool blog post. If you want to see a detailed breakdown of this with images and screenshots of all the cool stuff we talked about, it'll also be posted on the Marketing Secrets blog over at marketingsecrets.com.
Starting point is 00:19:00 All right, so here we go. The title of these questions are the 10 questions everyone keeps asking about something. $3 million in 90 minutes, but it's actually 12 questions. So there we go. All right, question number one. How long did it take you to create your presentation? Great question. So the framework that I used was the framework for my Funnel Hacks presentation, those who have been following me for the last three years.
Starting point is 00:19:20 I did start a brand new slide deck over at slide number one. I went through and created all new slides, but I was taking a lot of sections from my other presentations and kind of bleeding them in. I started that Monday. I worked on all day Monday and all day Tuesday. Let's see, is that right? Monday and Tuesday. And then Wednesday I flew to go see Dean Graciosi. So Wednesday I was with him all day and then we flew from from Boise Arizona spent all day there then from there we flew there to um back to our hotel in in Vegas. So that night I spent some time and then Thursday I spent um probably half a day. So probably total said and done probably three three full days um on the presentation. Um if I was doing it from scratch would take a lot longer than that obviously probably taking me about a week and a half to
Starting point is 00:20:04 two weeks. Uh there's three days kind of reworking it and refiguring the whole thing out and getting it all to work. Number two, how did you come up with such a great offer? So a couple of things. First off, I've had my Funnel Hacks offer for a while, so I kind of know what that is and I was trying to make it better. So what are the things we can add to make this offer even better than it already is if that's possible um
Starting point is 00:20:25 and so that's kind of where we uh where we started at it looks like my battery or uh the camera here i'm using for this presentation is overheating so i'm going to pause this really quick let the battery cool down i'll be back to answer question 2 through 12 here in a few seconds all right i'm back hopefully the camera won't overheat again but uh during the break james uh thought it would be a good idea if I showed you guys a stack of the order forms. For those who are watching the video, if you're listening to the podcast,
Starting point is 00:20:50 go to marketingsecrets.com to check out this video. So here is a stack of all of the order forms that were successfully processed so far. Each one of these counts as a $3,000 bill. So, yeah, that's... That's... That's a lot of $3,000. that's a lot of three thousand dollar bill so yes this works and as I'm starting this somebody well it wasn't one of the questions here I saw it as I was scrolling to Facebook for a quick
Starting point is 00:21:17 record so they're asking like where I made it my presentation from it's like you guys this is the perfect webinar script if you haven't read the expert seekers book yet literally it's I just use the script that's in the expert seekers book. Oh, I have a problem with secrets. I just tell everybody all my secrets. And so the presentation is literally word for word from the expert seekers book, same one that I've been using and trying to get you all you guys to use as well. So there you go. All right. All right. Final hackers, listen up. It's 2025. And let me ask you, are your B2B ads actually driving results? Or are they getting lost in the noise?
Starting point is 00:21:47 You and I both know the pain of running campaigns that fall flat because they aren't seen by the right people. But here's the game changer. LinkedIn ads. LinkedIn isn't just another ad platform. It's the place where professionals live. I'm talking about the decision makers you dream about working with. CEOs, VPs, C-suite powerhouses, 130 million of them all in
Starting point is 00:22:05 one place. And LinkedIn gives you the laser sharp targeting to reach them by job title company, and even industry. Imagine how your business could scale. If your message hits the right inboxes every time. Now here's the kicker. LinkedIn delivers up to five times higher ROAS and other platforms. Yeah, you heard me right. Five times more return on every ad dollar. And that's because LinkedIn's professional environment is made for people who actually take action. This isn't where people scroll mindlessly. This is where they're making decisions. So stop playing small because it's time to level up. Start converting your B2B audience into high quality leads today. And to get started, LinkedIn is offering you a hundred dollar credit for your next campaign. Go to
Starting point is 00:22:41 linkedin.com slash clicks to claim your credit. That's linkedin.com slash clicks. Terms and conditions may apply. LinkedIn is the place to be, to be. Hey, funnel hackers, let me paint you a picture. You're running a business, your funnel's finally converting like crazy, and suddenly it hits you. You need to hire someone like yesterday. Maybe it's a copywriter to help you crank out more sales pages or a designer to refresh your landing pages or someone to do customer support to help you to handle your growing audience. The problem is you're swamped and you don't have weeks to shift through resumes. So what do you do? You turn to Indeed.
Starting point is 00:23:13 When it comes to hiring, Indeed is all that you need. They make it fast, simple, and super effective. Stop struggling to get your job seen on those other job sites that bury your listing. With Indeed's sponsored jobs, your post jumps straight to the top of the page so that the right candidates see it first. It's just like pulling your job out on a billboard for the exact person you need to hire. And it works. Sponsored jobs on Indeed get 45% more application than non-sponsored jobs. Now here's the best part. With Indeed, there's no monthly subscription, no long-term contracts. You only pay for results. And let me tell you how fast this platform is. Literally in the time that we've been talking right now, 23 people have been hired
Starting point is 00:23:49 on Indeed worldwide. Imagine finding your dream hire while your competitors are still waiting through job boards and job boards that don't deliver. So here's what you need to do right now. Go to indeed.com slash clicks right now and get a $75 sponsored job credit board to boost your post visibility. That's indeed.com slash clicks. Support the show, save time, and find your next hire faster. Remember, when it comes to hiring, Indeed is all that you need. Back to the question.
Starting point is 00:24:17 So question number two, how did you come up with such a great offer? So again, I just took our offer we've been using in the past and we tried to 10X it. The event name was 10X. I kept saying, Grant told me to 10X the event. How can we make this better? So instead of giving like copyright and training, I gave them funnel scripts. Instead of just giving like traffic workshop, I gave them traffic secrets.
Starting point is 00:24:32 I did a call, I did a webinar blueprint with Jason Flattelman last week before the event. And one of the things he talked about is like when he tries to include bonuses, he's like, first off, I tried to like get proof that the bonus is actually worth a lot. And so one of the bonuses was I gave people access to trafficrets, which is John Reese's course on how to get traffic. We bought the company from him, licensed all the content from him.
Starting point is 00:24:52 And so instead of me saying, hey, you get access to Traffic Secrets, I literally showed, here's all the wire transfers of all the money that I sent John Reese to buy Traffic Secrets. So to give you this bonus, it cost me almost a million dollars to be able to give you this bonus. And people were just going crazy. Like, dude, you spent a million dollars and I gotta give you $3,000 for that. So it makes it really big. So example, if you're trying to create a bonus, one thing Jason said is really smart.
Starting point is 00:25:15 He's like, I go and hire someone who's awesome at this thing and I don't just, he's like, usually I can get it for free, but instead I go and I pay them and I'll wire them $10,000 or something. So I can show people, I literally spent $10,000 for this interview and you guys get it for free as part of this course and I pay them and I'll wire them $10,000 or something so I can show people like I literally spent $10,000 for this interview and you guys get it for free as part of this course.
Starting point is 00:25:28 So it just gives you a proof element. But anyway, that was kind of a cool thing. But that's kind of how we made the offer so great. It's software, and if you look at also the way I structure my offers is like when you invest in the Funnel Hacks training today, I mean you do all this other stuff for free. So ClickFunnels became free, TrafficSecrets is free,
Starting point is 00:25:45 FunnelScripts is free, all the other things are all free, free, free, free, free, the only thing they're paying for is the actual training. So that's kind of a cool way to structure it. And then again, I had the bonuses, we had the FunnelHackers cookbook and the audio book they got to leave with, which people love leaving events with stuff that they can show they actually invest
Starting point is 00:26:01 in something, so they got the book, they got the MP3 player. And then what else, what else? Oh, and then the picture. Something they can only get right there is you get a picture with me, so you can take that home, and that way you've got a picture you can use. And I told people to put it on their wall as a reminder of the commitment they made. They're going to 10X their business in the next 12 months.
Starting point is 00:26:21 So those are some of the things for the offer. What are the things you do right before the presentation to stay focused? for me like I get I still get nervous even the smaller events usually I'm gonna nurse an hour to before I go on stage this one I was nervous like two and a half days before I got on stage I was had this in this nervous energy which wears you out so part of that keep my energy up so it's like eating really healthy it was like you know making sure I'm trying to get sleep and I trying to like just keep energy up in the morning I'm getting ready I was like listening to music trying, you know, making sure I'm trying to get sleep at night, trying to like just keep energy up. In the morning when I'm getting ready, I was like listening to music, trying to, you know, get myself in state. And a lot of it for me is like getting down there.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Like I had to go the night before and actually stand on the stage. Like for some reason that calms my nerves and I see like this is what it's going to look like and what the audience is going to look like. That was a big part for me. And then when I got down there, it was just like, you know, I pray a lot during these nervous times. I'm praying a lot during these nervous times. I'm praying a lot that I'm gonna be able to serve the highest level, that I'm gonna be able to say the things that are gonna inspire people
Starting point is 00:27:09 and motivate people to actually change their life. And yes, a lot of praying. And then when it gets really close, I jump around. I try to get my energy out and try to get prepared and ready and then they start calling your name and the next thing you know, you step out there. And for me, it was like on the stage, I see everybody, then all the nerves just kinda crash
Starting point is 00:27:24 and then it's like boom, into state and then you just go. Hope that helps. Number four, what is the hardest thing about logistics of processing that many sales so quickly? So I kind of talked about that, the fact nobody had pens, there's nowhere to send people to order forms and so kind of what we did with those packets and the sneak attack, the Trojan horse order forms and pens,
Starting point is 00:27:42 that was the biggest part to get to work and they didn't have enough people to take orders. We literally had people there over an hour-long line just to be able to take people's money, which I felt bad for the next three or four speakers because literally people were out in the hallway either buying or they were watching this whole circus that was happening out there, this huge line,
Starting point is 00:27:58 so it was pretty cool. Number five, how did you prepare your team and your company for this event? It was a big, a lot of preparation. Ahead of time, we had pre-meetings explaining the process. When we got there, we showed everyone, okay, here's what the tables are happening. Here's what you've got to be doing. When you get this, you've got to return this.
Starting point is 00:28:13 And for the most part, it worked really good. We had some temp workers there who didn't pay attention very well. They kind of messed some things up. But for the most part, it ran really flawlessly, which is good. Number six, how has it been since the event? It's been crazy. I was in Vegas for another day and a half afterwards just processing orders and getting stuff done.
Starting point is 00:28:31 And it was tough, like man, I remember in the morning I needed to get some water, so there's a little shop where you can buy stuff right next to the elevator. So I jumped in the elevator, just came down, went to go buy some waters. And I got stuck out there for 25 minutes taking pictures with people. And I'm in my jammies, my hair's all messed up, I'm tired, I'm like, I just tried to buy some waters, and I got stuck out there for 25 minutes taking pictures with people, and I'm in my jammies,
Starting point is 00:28:45 my hair's all messed up, I'm tired, I'm like, I just tried to get some water for my wife and I, and someone came to me like, you buy your own water? You're the only multi-millionaire I know who buys their own water. I thought that was kind of funny. That was kind of crazy. And then we needed to get B-roll, though.
Starting point is 00:29:00 So part of me, like, we made $3 million for this presentation. I'm gonna make a lot more than three of me telling the story of this presentation, and you'll see some stuff coming out over the next few months of how we're gonna keep this, the momentum going, but part of it's like, telling the story, so I had three of my video guys there capturing stuff, and one of them, Dan Usher, he's making a promo video for the bonus I gave people at FunWalking Live event.
Starting point is 00:29:26 So, anyway, you guys will see that here in the near future. But one of the things that he wanted, he's like, I want an aerial shot of the event, but it's like, you can't fly a quadcopter around Mandalay Bay, and so he went and rented a helicopter. One of the helicopters, there's no doors on it, and then we gotta go in the helicopter, and they harness us to the helicopter, and then we flew at night past Mandalay Bay, and I gotta hang out of the helicopters that there's no doors on it, and then we gotta go in the helicopter and they harness us to the helicopter and then we flew at night
Starting point is 00:29:47 past Mandolin Bay and I gotta hang out of the helicopter looking back at him as he's filming me for like a three second B-roll shot that we're gonna use in the promotional video, so we did a lot of fun stuff like that. And then we gotta take my wife shopping to go get some clothes, and myself shopping as well to go get clothes for Photovac'ing Live, stuff like that which was kinda cool. And then after that I went to Michael Jackson show
Starting point is 00:30:09 which was really cool as well. And it was a good time, we had a good time. It was hard to walk through the halls afterwards. Just getting bombarded by everyone wanting to take pictures and it was just, it's tough because I want to give everyone the chance and I was like, if you bought you got your picture so like that was your shot and anyway it was just,
Starting point is 00:30:23 I feel so bad telling people no, and I tell a lot of people no, and it was tough. But other than that, it's been crazy. It's fun watching on Facebook because everyone's talking about it. Apparently, traffic conversion events happen right now, and I'm not there, but a bunch of my team's there, and they said that it's the talk of the whole event.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Everybody's talking about it, which I've been getting texts and Voxers and Facebook messengers from people all over the place that are messaging about it, so it's kind of fun just that it was that big of a deal that people know about it. Number seven, what's one piece of advice you give someone about stuff from stage or from a webinar? Study this book. I spent a year of my life writing this book so you know exactly what to say, how to say it, where to say it. And then go watch all my webinars.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Like, even if you're not going to buy my stuff, watch to learn the process, learn the energy level. Like, all those kind of things you need to be able to produce a webinar and to do it. Yeah, model it. Model, model, model. Like, you know, one of my friends who now has got a career writing webinars for people, he told me, he's like, I've watched your Phonetics webinar at least 100 times.
Starting point is 00:31:17 And I'm like, people are doing webinars, and I'm like, have you watched mine? I'm like, no, I haven't seen it yet. Like, are you kidding me? Like, do your homework. Anyway, there you go see like how I pitch why pitch see my tonality my voice patterns by how I do the stack in the clothes and how I create urgency and scarcity how I'm answering questions
Starting point is 00:31:34 like all those things are keys to it so you can read in the book but then go watch it to understand it number eight why did you have people do manual orders instead of digital? Okay, again, everyone else who sold at the event had people pull out their phones and click on the app to buy the product. Couple things, number one, when we were in the venue, the app had no internet access.
Starting point is 00:31:54 People that were doing that, the sales actually didn't go through. So a lot of their speakers were like, okay, well, when you leave the event, go and find it. Number two is, half of selling is like the social pressure and the psychology behind like social proof this is actually real so it's like people point the phone at buying nobody knows who else is buying. People are all running up and they're running somewhere they see a line that wraps around the
Starting point is 00:32:14 arena they see it all this energy excitement and momentum they're like I don't know what the exact that is but like everyone else gets it so it must be something I need to be part of as well so causes a social situation to you as well so that's why we did the the old school way. Um, what instead of what was number nine, what was the incentive for them to wait in that along the line during the table rush? Um, it was to be able to come and get a picture with me, um, which may seem like a dumb little thing, but, um, it's important to people. Like, um, I just know that every time I walked through the hallway before and after I was getting mugged by people who wanted their picture with me, which
Starting point is 00:32:43 is funny for my wife. She's like, why do people want their picture with you? I'm like, I have no idea. It doesn't make sense to me either, but that was a big thing. People want that, and it gives them something tangible. So that was a big part. Plus, when they sat in line, they got the physical Fun Hacker cookbook and the MP3 player, so it just gives them something tangible as well. And it gives people to meet you. If someone buys from you, invests from you, they wanna meet you and they wanna shake your hand
Starting point is 00:33:05 and have a picture with you, means the world to them. Number 10, do you feel different now that you've broken another huge record? Honestly, no, I feel exactly the same. My goal now is just not to let my head get too big, but definitely to leverage it to grow ClickFunnels even further. So, like I said earlier, $3 million in 90 minutes is cool,
Starting point is 00:33:22 but the $30 million we generate in the next 12 months because of this, because the story is more important. And that's what's going to happen next. And that's what most people give up. Most people do the first thing and then they stop. We have the first thing and then you will watch. Watch over the next three or four months is how I leverage this. You will definitely see it. And number 11, does Grant Cardone get any kickbacks since it was his event? Yes. You split the proceeds of your sales 50-50 with the event promoter. They're the ones who did all the hard work to get the people in the room, so they get half of the profits, and it's totally, totally, totally worth it. Number 12, is there anything you'd do differently?
Starting point is 00:33:54 Maybe, but I don't know yet. You know, I think overall we executed it pretty well. We thought a lot through it, and it worked really, really well. I think my double close, my second presentation, I probably would have choreographed that one a little better. Maybe I had some slides and some things.
Starting point is 00:34:09 I just kind of went there and just kind of talked. So I probably would have choreographed that a little bit differently. But for the most part, really, really happy with how it all went. And yeah. So there you go, guys.
Starting point is 00:34:18 That was what happened at 10X Event. That's how we made a million dollars in 90 minutes. It was tons of fun. Look out in the near future as I tell this story more and I'm kind of walking you guys through the details. We will have an offer coming out that's going to share all the information from behind the scenes going through slide by slide, minute by minute of my presentation. That'll all be coming soon.
