The Russell Brunson Show - STOP STOPPING!

Episode Date: September 11, 2017

If you want success, the first step is STOP STOPPING!!! On this episode Russell talks about getting his stalling kids ready for bed and yelling at them to stop stopping, which reminded him of what Se...tema said at Funnel Hacking Live. Here are some of the awesome things to look for in this episode: Why yelling at his kids to stop stalling, made him think of people who need to stop stopping when it comes to business and life. Why it's always important to keep moving forward even when you hit roadblocks. And why its physically impossible to have success when you stop from every roadblock that gets in your way. So listen here to listen to Russell say "Stop stopping" a million times to burn it into your brain so it motivates you to always move forward. It's Russell Brunson. I'm about to go to bed, but I want to talk to you about something. Welcome back to Marketing Secrets. So the big question is this. How are entrepreneurs like us, who didn't cheat and take on venture capital,
Starting point is 00:00:44 who are spending money from our own pockets, how do we market in a way that lets us get our products and our services and the things that we believe in out to the world, and yet still remain profitable? That is the question, and this podcast will give you the answers. My name is Russell Brunson, and welcome to Marketing Secrets. Alright, so it's been a crazy week. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little tired. We're coming up on the big viral video launch.
Starting point is 00:01:23 So it's been early mornings, late nights, doing a lot of things. A lot of stuff working, a lot of stuff not working. We've had ups and we've had downs. It's been nuts. It's been fun. I don't know about you, but I just love this game. I love the journey. I love everything about it, and it's been so much fun.
Starting point is 00:01:40 But I had kind of a funny story tonight. So actually, this came from initially is Satema. Some of you guys heard him speak of fun liking lies been in your circle he's in a circle last year and he gave this one presentation that was so cool he had four or five points he's going over and one of them that had like a big impact on me I forgot my notebook all I remember he said you need to stop stopping and they started talking about like people they go they hit a roadblock I forgot my notebook. All I remember is he said, you need to stop stopping. And they started talking about like people, they go,
Starting point is 00:02:10 they hit a roadblock and then they stop. He said, you need to stop stopping. He said that a thing happens, you know, and then people stop. And he's like, you got to stop stopping.
Starting point is 00:02:19 And he kept saying that over and over again. It was funny tonight. Um, we got back, um, after a long week, we had this big party when the neighbor's house is tonight. It's probably, probably about 250 kids after a long week. We had this big party at one of the neighbor's houses tonight. There's probably about 250 kids at this thing. It was nuts.
Starting point is 00:02:29 My kids are out there swimming and partying. Colette and I came and took the younger kids home, and then I just went back to go grab them. So I grabbed them, and they're all cold and tired, and they're all hopped up on sugar and stuff. You know how it is. Summer parties, I guess, end of summer parties. So anyway, so I go and get them, load them how it is, summer parties, I guess, end of summer parties, so,
Starting point is 00:02:49 uh, anyway, so I go and, um, get him, load him in the car, drive him home, get him into bed, and, uh, Dallin, my oldest, uh, he's, um, he's getting ready for bed, and he has this thing where he just kind of stalls, and stalls, and stalls, and he kept stopping, and, uh, tonight, like, um, after, like, the fifth or sixth time, I kept, like, come on, bud, let's go, let's go, and then, like, he was, like, pretty shrugging, he just kind of stopped there, and he's sitting there, I was like, Talon, you have to stop stopping, he's like, what, dad, I'm like, you have to stop stopping, he's like, wait, what, I'm like, stop stopping, I kept yelling at him, but he starts laughing, and then, anyway, and then, um, I was getting Bowen for bed, and he kept doing something, like, Bowen, you have to stop stopping, and he's like he kept doing something like, Bowen, you have to stop stopping. And he's like, what dad?
Starting point is 00:03:27 I'm like, you have to stop stopping. He's like, oh, that's really cool. I'm like, I know. And then it's Ellie. And anyway, everyone else has passed out. Clep passed out a little earlier too with Hayden and Nora's long gone. So anyway, as I had fun doing that and yelling at the kids and telling them to stop stopping, I just kind of realized how powerful that is. And I was like, I have to grab my camera just because I think that this is why most people don't succeed.
Starting point is 00:03:51 And not just in business. This is like any part of life, right? Like good relationships, people just stop. In business, they stop. In development, in sports. Like how many times people just stop? And, you know, I'm not perfect either. I'm guilty of this as well.
Starting point is 00:04:10 But I think one of the reasons why I do have success in this avenue of my life and business and stuff like that is I just stop stopping. Like you hit something and then you just keep going and you keep going and you keep going and you keep going. And so for any of you guys who have a habit of stopping, right? You start working on a project and then you stop, you start doing this thing and then you stop and then you start doing something else and then you stop and you stop by whatever it could be. Facebook, phone, friends, food, something. They all Fs. Yeah. A bunch of, I was going to say, I was going to say I'm kind of
Starting point is 00:04:42 inappropriate. Uh, anyway, they're all Fs. A bunch's a bunch of anyway um like you gotta stop stopping i think that's i think that's it for most people um you let turbulence you stop and you gotta stop stopping so this is it i'm gonna say 10 more times so it gets rung into your head so every time you're moving forward on something you're moving direction and getting momentum you start moving in thing. You hit something and you want to stop. I want you to hear me yelling in your ears. Stop stopping. Okay. Keep going.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Stop stopping. Go, go, go. Keep going. Yes. That's a trial. Stop stopping. Yes. That's a hurdle.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Stop stopping. Yes. That's frustrating. Stop stopping. Yes. I know there's pain associated with that task. You don't want to do it. You got to stop stopping.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Just keep moving forward. Stop stopping. So there it is. There's my rant for you guys tonight. Stop stopping. Keep moving forward. That's the goal. If you do that, you'll get what you want. If you stop, you won't. It's physically impossible. If I want that thing over there, I start walking towards it and I stop. I can't get it. I'm like, oh, but it's hard or I'm tired or I'm hungry or I'm the fill in the blank with your excuse. If you stop, you're never going to get there. Like it's impossible if you stop. So you just stop stopping and just walk and keep going despite all of the fear and the stress and the pain and the, um, all the other stuff that happens with it. Cause I know it's there. I felt it before. You felt it before. But I think about all the things in my life
Starting point is 00:06:09 that have been great. It's because I stopped stopping, right? Wrestling was hard. Like I didn't eat most days. I would weigh in Monday. This was in high school. I'd be at 160 and on Thursday I was wrestling at 130. I couldn't stop.
Starting point is 00:06:25 I had to keep going forward. I learned how to stop stopping and just literally stopped eating. I just stopped. Anyway, but yes, I stopped stopping. I kept moving forward, right? And I became great at that. Business was the same thing. I would stop because if you hit and you didn't move.
Starting point is 00:06:40 And after years of doing it, I figured out how to stop stopping and just keep moving through all the pressure and the pain and the noise and keep going. And, um, you know, the other math sucks in my life where I haven't been as good or I've stopped. Yeah. This is good for me too. There's two avenues in my life where I've stopped. I got to stop stopping too. So this may be for you, but it's probably for me. So Russell, stop stopping. You, whoever you are listening right now, it's time. It's time to stop stopping. Start moving forward. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:07:11 I'm going to go. I'm going to stop stopping if you commit to. All right? Cool. Stop stopping. We'll see you guys soon. Bye, everybody. Want more marketing secrets?
