okay week one of the nfl almost in the books get the monday nighter but to a dominant on the road in los angeles so a good chunk on that a little niners steelers also cincy in cleveland some rapid fire we've got awards our m our MVP tracker that is new this year, and a big college football recap. Texas goes into Alabama. They get the win. Where will they be in the debut of my college football rankings top 12? Some stuff on Miami and A&M and the SEC in some early trouble.

How about a weekend for Texas and Miami, college and the NFL? We start with our NFL Week 1 recap. We'll do it this way.

Moving forward this season, we've got some headlines. We've got some other thoughts and award that we'll give out. We have a new feature this year, the MVP tracker, which we will get to. Okay, so the headline, I think the biggest headline out of all this, Dolphins beating the LA Chargers in LA 36-34. Tua goes for 466 yards. I think all of us, despite, and I know last year with my kind of up and down, like, man, in the beginning of the year, I didn't see it. Then he goes on this tear, but then he gets hurt.

I thought some of the games were worse than they actually looked statistically, but the health stuff that he had to go through, the doubt part of it all, people say, no, they actually figured him out a little bit. And for them to go across the country against a Chargers defense, which I know, look, at least week one, they're all healthy, right? I mean, the Chargers seem to always lose the highest end of their talent by the end of the year, or you're like, wait, who's scratched again? And there's so many guys on the Chargers defense. I'm like, I like that guy. I like that guy. I like that dude. Oh yeah. I like that guy too. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. He's pretty good. And then they get absolutely torched by Tua and Tyreek Hill. So 466 for Tua. I think any of us has to feel good about him getting through, getting through all the health stuff and coming

back and playing that well in week one. The Tyreek Hill part of this is scary. 15 targets, 11 catches, 215 yards. And after the game, both he and his head coach talked about like, Hey, look last last year he was just running Tyreek Hill even said on the first catch it was a route he ran last year and didn't get open because he just kind of ran the way they moved him around on that motion where he ran through everybody then looked like he was darting directly out of bounds but there was a slight chance like wait is he actually getting into the end zone he was unstoppable in this stuff and this is one of the rare times

where I think a lot of the recap and the quotes will be like, oh man, you know, we're just scratching the surface or this guy has no idea how good he can be. Like when an NBA player is getting like 31 a game, like he's not even there yet. And you're like, what? In this case, I think it's real because of some of the stuff they did with him. Now, one of the other parts about the Tua conversation was if you get their timing messed up, if you jam the receivers, if everything's like snap, look, throw, it's very regimented, which made me believe and others with Tua, you're like, okay, but can he get this going when things break down? Can you be a difference maker when everything's a mess? And yesterday there was a couple of different throws, the Berrios conversion to the left sideline. Um, but the third and 10 that he hit Tyreek Hill on for 47 yards

was incredible, completely flushed out, going to a side, comes back the other way. Um, you know, granted Tyreek is that good, but then on the touchdown, to get it past the corner and have that pass be perfect, it was just incredibly impressive stuff against, again, a Chargers defense that I know statistically hasn't been great, but at least all their guys were out there. They didn't have, I believe, one significant scratch going into that game. The rest of the statistics defensively for the Chargers are scary.

Miami had 14 pass plays, 14 pass plays of 15 or more yards. There have been two times in the last 6,612 games where a team has allowed more than 14 pass plays of over 15 yards. So that was off the charts terrible. That note is from Sando. Our new feature is the Greeny MVP tracker. Greeny gave two of the MVP yesterday. My guess is he doesn't think it's close. We may even update it on Wednesdays. Not afraid, but we will update it and we will update it often. Miami ended up with 8.2 yards per play so considering the travel part the two apart the two of health the tyreek part and on top of everything else a miami defense where it didn't feel like they were getting a ton of pressure on herbert and then when they needed to and granted the intentional grounding thing completely screwed up the charges after the miss extra point we were thinking maybe they're going to go down in the field.

It's a Herbert moment here. But Dolphins dialed it up perfectly. That looks like a very talented team. And it also kind of changes the AFC part of this because all of us, and I think for good reason, you look at the three teams, the Chiefs, the Bills, Bengals, and you go Mahomes, Allenborough. Like, does it stop there? But then you've got Lamar, you've got

Trevor Lawrence, you've got whatever Rogers ends up being here with the jets, which I imagine is better than what he was last year with the Packers. And then Herbert, there's still some hope for Watson, but I know it's only week one, but for Tua and the dolphins, like football, the NFL works in a way where it shouldn't just be those same three teams again this year. There should be another team and Miami certainly announcing its presence with authority to get the season started. Okay. Cincinnati goes into Cleveland and it looks terrible, right? Burrow had the second worst game by a quarterback in week one, Daniel Jones, how about your primetime Giants? I had a rant on the primetime Giants. I realized after a couple of years, I hate watching them in primetime all the time. I don't think it's fair after they made the playoffs last year to go that,

but it wasn't a great start for the Giants. They got smashed by Dallas. Got a lot of work done though. All right. So Burrow and Cincy go two for 15 on third down. We know weather was a factor. And on the other side, it's not like Watson was lighting it up, but it's really about the Cleveland defense here. Bill Barnwell, ESPN, pointed out something great here about Cleveland's coverage and how they forced Burrow to throw outside of the numbers. Burrow threw 71% of his attempts outside the numbers,

which is actually a career high. And when you watch Denzel Ward hold up, other than the one penalty, I love him. To have that kind of elite talent on the outside, I just think allows you to live a certain way. And I think that's what Cleveland was trying to do with their defense here. Like, you know what, maybe it's the weather, maybe it's changing up the game plan, but we like Ward in this matchup, even though it's up against somebody like Jamar Chase, who I'm always going to

favor in every single matchup. You wouldn't think one-on-one with Burrow and Chase that anyone would ever win. And Cleveland found a way to win to go ahead and do that. So not a great game from Burrow. I'm not going to freak out about the whole thing. Miles Garrett continued to just all over the place, wreck everybody. He had a rush from the right side, so against the left tackle, where Orlando Brown looked like he got his hands on him, changed his course, and then Garrett just kind of pops back up, continues on his path, got a hit on the quarterback.

Cleveland's now won 6-7 against Cincinnati. So for Bengals fans, this isn't exactly anything new. The other major headline, I think, if I had to pick three, would be San Francisco dominating Pittsburgh. So, look, we knew it would be a wake-up call for Kenny Pickett versus last year's number one defense, but I didn't think it would be this bad. He ended up with two picks and a lot of miscommunication

where he's throwing behind the guy. I don't even know if they're route options or if they were just missed throws. He said that, you know, there was one play, I think to Friar Muth, the tight end who we all like, where he was like, he saw something and I saw something else. So maybe some of it's, maybe it's just all of those things. He should have had a third pick. That was a pick six. My guy, Fred Warner just flat out dropped it. But the other pick that he ended up throwing was a Warner tip, but yeah, that was a pick six. This thing could have been worse. He was sacked five times. They were down 17-0 at home. The Steelers first time down 17-0 at home with that

number since 1997. The pick at preseason was incredible. And I don't think it's going to be this bad, but there was real hope that Pittsburgh, who always finds a way to at least be a game over 500, even though they haven't won a playoff game in six years, you look up and be like, wait, are they actually kind of good, even though I'm kind of writing them off? And that's just Pittsburgh football. They find a way to still be competitive, even when a lot of us are just looking at the talent,

being like, I'm not sure. But in this case, it felt like, wait, they may have the guy. They may have the guy that was overlooked in the draft because he went a lot later than normally quarterbacks would go because of the preseason. And again, I think the number was that he had the highest QBR of any of the guys, tested out better, had the best grades of any of the quarterbacks that played in the preseason. But I always have that haunting Danny Connell story in my head whenever anyone unproven lights it up because he had one game

with the Giants where he was like, the other stayed in like the most basic coverage they didn't care we ran this four go play where it was like four routes were all they were all verticals and then they stopped and he goes they didn't change the coverage and i hit it on the first one and we ran it four times in a row we scored a touchdown and he's like the media ate it up they all talked about how I was figuring things out, how I took control of the offense, how I was seeing things. And they're like, of course, they're all complimenting me. So I just agreed with them. And he goes, knowing deep down, they didn't even try to defend the one thing. They just wanted the game to be over with. I didn't do anything impressive, nothing impressive. It just looked really good. I'm

not saying that Pickett is Danny Cannell, but the preseason stuff always scares the hell out of me i'm not going to be all in on somebody granted somebody looks terrible and you doubt them you're going to use that but look it was just a really really bad afternoon for a steelers team that has some hopes and thinking that they have a guy okay the best win and worst loss we'll do it every week best win is dallas uh daniel jones had a qbr of 871 yards total for the Giants offense, three touchdowns. Dak didn't even have to light it up, but the Dallas defense we know is really talented. And it'd be nice if Dak had something where he feels like, I don't have to do this every single week. Because I think there've been some Dak seasons where the offense is just on fire.

And when you play quarterback that way, you're raising your risk level. And I still think that Dak last season, the interception numbers are an anomaly compared to who he's been throughout most of his career. The worst loss, Pittsburgh, certainly an option, Giants getting housed like that. So if I'm not going to go with those because I've already talked about them, how about Seattle? There's a real one hit wonder thing with Geno Smith. I'm not saying it's fair he was terrific last year way better than i thought completed 70 of his passes but it's just what's going to happen lose a division game by the way stafford how about him looking healthy how about when he

stepped up in the pocket against a rusher and just move you're like wait i don't think i've seen him move like that like two years um but being a division game and there'll be a lingering kind of is this whole thing a fluke with Geno, which may feel really unfair, but I'll admit based on who he had been prior to last season, it's not something that I'm going to shake overnight. Numbers you should know. I have one for you. You know how much I love win probability, right? So the win probability number gets flashed up like it means anything.

Or when a team comes back after all these simulations of who would likely win when up late pretending as if these comebacks are never going to happen it's pointless math it's trying to make something easy more complicated but i guess if you get a little ad banner out of it who am i to judge you for taking the extra cash so think about this. Vegas, Denver. Vegas gets a first down, 142 left in the game. Denver has used all three of their timeouts. Vegas is about to take a knee and run the clock out here and win the game. And the win probability number pops up at 83%. I think it should be higher.

That's just me. I'm not an engineer. I just think it should be higher. That's just me. I'm not an engineer. I just think it should be higher. Okay, award time. The Calvin Ridley Award. We're not doing it every week, but we're going to give out an award every week. This award is for the college player who looked like a beast in college and then looks really small once he's next to NFL bodies.

Now, give me some leniency here because the guy that I'm giving the Calvin Ridley award to did not look huge when he was in college, but my God, does Bryce Young look small on an NFL field? It's alarming. He is alarmingly small. And I know you're saying, well, wait a minute, this new first time watching him. Yeah. It's the first time watching him in an NFL game. It happens. And I stress this all the time. Whenever I'm doing all the draft stuff and I love going to the combine, there is no replacing the value of just seeing bodies next to other bodies.

Like you can know what a guy's listed at. You can know what he weighs in at. But sometimes it's like I don't like his shoulders. Why does his ass look like that? Or does he have thin ankles? Does he have thick ankles? Does he have long arms? Why is, is he skinny fat guy where he thinks he's tough, but his wrists are really small. That might be a personal thing. So I'm just, when I, when I saw Bryce Young out there against Atlanta, I'm like, dude, this guy looks so small. Now, he listed at the combine 5'10 and an eighth, 204 pounds. I don't think he's 204 today. I think they tried to just get him as heavy as they possibly could before the

combine. Maybe he is. Kyler, when he was drafted, was 5'10 and an eighth, but 210 pounds. But body type-wise, as much as Kyler's having a hard time holding up physically, Kyler's thicker. He's got the baseball ass. There's a little bit more to him. That's one of the things Russell Wilson always had. I don't know that I've seen a player at quarterback look as small, just as small. I don't care about the listed height and weight. Look as small physically as Bryce did.

Maybe Doug Flutie. And the number one overall pick making his debut in losing streak continues again, David Carr, the last one to get making his debut and losing streak continues. Again, David Carr, the last one to get a win 21 years ago. A few random observations as we finish up here. Jordan Love looked good. He looked good. The second touchdown, third at the Alps.

What if they're right again about a quarterback? Everyone will want everyone to sit for like three years. Fields did not look good. The one touchdown that he had when the game was still kind of a game, the Mooney touchdown, although it never really felt like much of a game. I think it was his first option, so he never had to take his eyes off of him. Nice throw, great route, good catch in the back right side of the end zone. The interception, he has interceptions where I just don't know if he sees stuff,

like college interceptions, where you're like, okay, at the top of the route where you're expecting it to go, can you peek over at all to see if somebody's hanging down in zone or if this is bracketed off? And the last pick was one of those picks that was really, really bad. So it's still TBD in fields, but a little worried. Mike Vrabel with the kimono look. Now, not a strict kimono, but it was a weird deal. I know there's some workout shirts where guys have the slats cut out or little slits in the side. And I'm not talking about like workout stuff, but it was like kind of this long short sleeve hybrid deal. And then it was cut up the sides like really far.

These guys love adjusting the stuff. Maybe it's the Belichick family tree. Although Dion does this thing with his sleeves that actually looks really cool. But of course it's Dion Sanders. So most of the stuff he does does look cool, but it's just a worse look when you lose, when you have to go across the field and shake hands. You're like, what is he going with?

And I know there's some of this athletic stuff that has this up-the-slit side pre-cut for you, but just one observation. Saban's first double-digit home loss at Bama. The first double-digit home loss for Bama since 2004. Quinn Ewers still had questions. Liked his moxie. A little weird. We were talking about Bryce Young's weight early on. They showed the kind of like, if you do a little weird we were talking about bryce young's weight early on they showed them the kind of like you do a chris long year by year you're like what happened to you dude you're like no he's fine actually but he just changed up his look a little bit if you do the

quinn ewers one at texas hadn't been that long you're like what but i guess down to 195 which i don't know that i'd want to be 195 of the quarterback at least not against what we thought would be bama's front line we'll get to that in a second. 218 to 195, cut up the hair a little bit. He kind of went free agent haircut, but he was incredible. And it's funny because he's one of those guys that's so poised that if they weren't playing well, you'd be like, oh, this guy's out of it, right? Just looking at his face.

But he was terrific. Let's run through what Texas has. They have two studs at wide receiver in Xavier Worthy and Jordan Withington. And they're really good as opposed to the times where I've gone to Texas games. I'm like, oh, man, nine must be awesome. They're like, no, he's terrible. He's going to transfer. I'm like, oh, my bad.

They had the preseason defensive player of the year in linebacker Jalen Ford. The other linebacker, Anthony Hill, had two sacks. Their D tackles are massive. Sweat and Murphy are 362 and then 300 and something pounds. And then you've got Burke, the white kid on the edge. So you're watching this team, and I understand doubts about Texas, but at some point it has to work, right?

At some point, all this talent has to come together, and it's going to work, which will be an example of another team that I need to talk about. But they might be really good, okay? I picked them not to win the game, which I felt stupid about when I watched Mill roll play. But when I came down to it, I went back and forth. I was like, I'd rather be dumb about Bama than be dumb about Texas. But I still picked Texas to be in the playoff. I'd rather be dumb about Bama than be dumb about Texas, but I still picked Texas to be in the playoff. So I think the weirdest thing about this game before we get to the Bama side of it

offensively is that Bama's supposed to be this run first offense that's going to beat you with defense this year. And physically, I don't really think it was close. Bama's front wasn't getting much on yours, which is up to the quarterback too, where Texas looked like they had the dudes all over the place. And for a night, that's what it looked like. In long term, if you want to start talking about transitioning into the SEC and look, the guys are on the field, they're having a good time. Their kids are like, they're not ready for us. SC isn't ready for us. We're going to have to do a little bit more, but for a night, it was just revealing. The front for Texas here is the one that looks like the SEC front where Bama was like,

when are some of these guys going to make some plays? I had questions about Milrow coming in. This is something I have like an Ohio State, Alabama quarterback segment that I'll do on a slow news day or whatever. But I had asked Saban during the Coker and Sims years, like, how do you pick the quarterback? All right. And he said something really interesting, and I've not forgotten it. And I'm going to use it again now because I think it's true. But he was basically like, look, you can talk about talent. You can talk about the resume and all that kind of stuff. but what really matters is how that quarterback resonates in the room. Like, does it, does it

seem to be a little different when that guy takes over? And that was what he had told me when he made the decisions that he had made again, years ago with quarterbacks that weren't of the highest regard, uh, in comparison to some of the other recruits they had brought in. And so my educated guess that that's what's happened here with Milrow. But unfortunately, the questions that I have, I think I have answers. There's just not great awareness right now. Now, he hasn't played many games. There's always a chance for improvement here.

Early on, some of these teams just look lost at quarterback. But it feels as of right now, you're going to be limited, especially when your defense has you in a shootout with Texas, who has one of the highest recruits ever. Our URSS is technically, I think, the highest graded recruit of all time. So this leads to what I knew would happen if Texas won this game. We even hinted at it, is the depth of Alabama content. You want to say that Bama is no longer going to compete for national championships.

I can't do that. I can't do it. I can't do it. I can't even really do it with Clemson. Maybe it's over, right? Maybe they need to update some of the stuff they're doing. But I have way more trust in programs. I'd rather be like late to it than be writing everybody off all the time. And when it comes to Bama, granted, Texas, I think is really good.

We'll get to it on my top 12 debut of my college football rankings. But if you're going to start writing off Bama, I'd ask you this. Can they lose to somebody bad first? Can they actually lose to a bad team? Now, Saban in his first year, when he's getting the wrong guys out of there, they lost to Louisiana Monroe. They had not lost to an unranked team from 07 until 2021 when A&M beat them with a talented team and Zach Calzada turned into Caleb Williams. So even though they had lost to unranked A&M, I think we know the A&M game enough that you're like,

yeah, certain nights though with all the guys they have, they can hang with some teams. So I know that the the allure of hey i just want to i just want to write bam off i want to say it's done i want to say their losses last year were a shootout at tennessee in a two-point conversion in overtime with death valley all right that is that that's not the most egregious way to lose football games and so yeah it was weird the pass rush felt non-existent the receivers are now year two and they're kind of like where's the group but again that used to all be first round guys uh and ohio state kept it going alabama has

not kept it going so i just i cannot do it i cannot do it with bama until they lose to somebody who's actually bad. We were like, hey, how the hell did that happen despite the history of what Texas did? The penalty stuff seems to be an issue. It was a huge issue last year against Texas. It was an issue again. I know there's some red zone numbers from last year you're not going to like. There was a defensive call that didn't get in from the sideline, which just looked weird that they were unorganized. But I need, I need to see an 8-4 season before I'm even willing to entertain the idea that Bama just

all of a sudden is done. If anything, if they have a bad year with Milrow, can you imagine what they're going to do to bring in a quarterback next year? Okay, next game. Texas is back, folks! But not Texas A&M. I love Miami's win against them. 48-33. It looked like they were trying to give A&M the I love Miami's win against them.

48-33. It looked like they were trying to give A&M the game when it started. The block punt, the turnover, 10-0 right away. But Van Dyke, after what looked like a regression year, they brought in another new coordinator, and he has throws. When you spend 12 hours on Saturday

watching all these games, and then you see guys like Van Dyke make throws, you're like, yep, there's just not many. Look, Caleb Williams is in a completely different universe in comparison to everybody else playing with us just right now. He just is. I mean, I know there's numbers, and other guys can put up numbers. Caleb Williams is unfair in college football right now for SC.

But the reason Van Dyke was thought to be a first, yeah, I would say a first-round pick round pick of quarterback maybe two years ago eventually. Shout out to Glastonbury, Connecticut, by the way. It was a nice reminder of why we cared about this guy so much. And this is a Miami team that going into this game, they lose two defensive linemen. Number nine, Kelly, who I love, was dinged up. I don't even know if he came back into this thing. The transfer from West Virginia, it was a porter. The blitzes that they were dialing up, the corner blitzes, which A&M, I guess they felt like, hey, we're going to burn you on these eventually, but it never really happened. And so I could sit here and talk about Connor Wigman, who I think has just like a lot of

quarterbacks for me. There's some good moments, there's some down moments it's all over the place but this is about the defense for A&M so a great win for Miami against a really talented A&M team which I'm going to go into the weeds here to remind everybody what we're talking about when you look at this sophomore class that they have so you go back a couple years that recruiting class was all time and I'm going to do this it may be boring to some of you guys but I'm doing it because I think it's actually important to remind everybody. All right, so Connor Wegman was the number three quarterback. Wegman was

number three behind Aller and Cade Klubnick, so Penn State and Clemson. Number five running back. The number one and number three receivers. Number three's gone, by the way. The number three and number five tight ends.

One of the tight ends is out with ACL, but the white kid, Johnson, he was the number three overall tight end. They had the number nine, number 12, and number 16 O-linemen coming in. That's based on positional stuff. One of those guys is gone. What about the defense? I watched this group. This is one of the most heralded defensive line groups ever recruited. Okay. The number two overall, this isn't D line position rankings. This is overall rankings. So any position here, right? The number one guy was Travis Hunter. The number two guy was Nolan. Who's the defensive lineman, uh, who actually I think is listed as a backup still

because there's supposed to be all this depth there. So if you look through this, A&M had the number two overall, the number nine overall, the number 11 overall, the number 17 overall players, and they were all defensive linemen. And I watched those guys all night, and I'm like, where are the plays? Where's the dominance? Now, Stewart, number four for his size and speed, the kid from Miami that's got a real incredible profile pick.

but like this to me is so simple. There's going to be a time when physically you have no chance of playing with these guys. And if you're still playing this many years past college you clearly like it so unless you're a dork and you feel like the guys are making fun of you and you're questioning it which i don't think you are because you didn't say that and you were the captain unless you were like super intense and you know kiss the coach's ass like i can't believe they made him. I can't believe they made Millsy captain.

So I really think look, my vote is a hard, hard keep playing because I would love to be in some kind of league still. One, I can never be in them because they're like, oh, the games are at seven. Okay, out. This is not happening. i haven't been in a league in a really really long time i used to love it take it way too seriously my 20s when i had no responsibilities i fucking loved it loved it and then go out with the guys after go out with the boys shooter peekers um after but after, but I don't think you're committing any kind of social faux pas. Keep playing until you suck.

And if you suck, maybe you can still keep playing. But I think the social thing is the only part of it that's a little weird. If you feel disconnected from these guys, which you probably would be a decade older and all that kind of stuff. But I'm telling you, if you are this into it to still be playing in this league, if you shut it down now in a couple of years, you're going to be like, I shouldn't have done that. I still miss this. And then you're going to try to pick it right back up with a huge gap in between. And there's going to be stuff that's missing. Again, my greatest regret in life is not

sticking with poops for this beginning of the van pelt window because of work and not having access to playing anywhere where i felt safe in downtown hartford even though i still did plus you've got your sport is lax so it's not like you know you're show up to a basketball court and wait around for an hour and your chances are pretty good a game materializes right so it's like if you if you still want to do this there's really only a few ways to get this done uh unless you go like buddy game style once a year and you you know track down however many people you need to play lacrosse and do it so i think this is kind of your only option and there it also isn't really like a 50 year old and up lax league out there there's probably not many

so this is this is kind of your option and so yeah you might be the only guy who's thinking about a 401k but you're still like closer to that than you are to you know whatever 50 50 plus uh blue plate special lax league there is out there so i think this is this is totally your move until it's either bad for you or you find another option that's better for you so i think this is this is your move yeah i don't think like young guys in those pickup style games hate old guys just because they're old they hate the old guy yeah but they hate the yeah that's not even that old exactly but they hate the old guy because of the things that he does like you know we were talking a couple pods ago about the old guy throwing elbows and at the ymca playing hoops like that's why they don't like

So I asked this podcast host to join me on one of my playoff postgame shows, which would have been 9 p.m. on the West Coast.

The host told me that he was playing golf and couldn't join me. Top golf, baby. Just went right across the staples there so here's my question was he actually playing golf at nine o'clock with the lights on the golf course like the special tnt events with tiger phil curry rogers etc was he at top golf or was he pulling my leg because he wants me to stop asking? I think if I'm going to lie, if I'm going to lie to you, I'm going to come up with a better lie than that. I'm golden. I did.

Yeah. Top golf. It's the lakes. There's a little par three in El Segundo. It's five minutes from my house. And there are certain nights when the hoops gets over and it's all hoops, hoops, hoops, especially during the playoffs. I'm like, man, shut the brain off for a bit.

I go play 10 holes. I can get it done in an hour. And then I'm home in five minutes. Shout out to my guy, Nick, at the Lakes in El Segundo. He's always got a three-teamer going, FanDuel, always. And so I didn't lie there you go okay oh you didn't lie no i no i'm just saying i didn't yeah no obviously he's talking about me because i remember i was like yeah i'm golfing and then there was this awkward silence like yeah i mean my dad you know

he plays on the public course there mccann i think they do like once or twice a year they just bust in some lights and do it like i mean it maybe it was a big deal but uh it's if my dad does it i think i think uh rostillo could do it too so even if you did lie as like a long time you know radio and pod producer and our guys cliff and stefan who are on this uh will black back me up on this the at least you responded the worst option that you can get as a producer is having the guests not respond because then you're just in limbo for like hours not knowing if you ever guessed or not so if you lie to me i don't even care just say yes or no so you said it was it was

a no so that move on who's the next guest we could take off the list i've been not responding some definitely respond just say no it's okay yeah because in this world the reason doesn't even matter half the time you're like you know when when the producers tell you that like i don't know some actor can't do it anymore something came up or something it's always a lie it's always a lie i remember having to do it for like bill or any or anyone it was just like just make up a lie like you know somebody's be like get me out of this thing. We're like, okay. And what the other producer is going to tell the other person's producer that I don't believe this?

I think the last radio hit that I did, I went and played basketball before. And it was like landing right in the middle of my day. And I kept thinking like, Hey, don't like make sure you're available, make sure you're available for this thing. Like, don't go to the beach. Don't like, cause I don't bring my phone when I go in the water or anything like that. And

I was like, Oh, and the guy's like, are you done? I was like, yeah, I'm done. Sorry. And I sat in my car and sweat for 25 minutes while I was on the phone, sweating all over everything. And it was so hot in the car and I was fucking dying. And the interview kept going and going and going. And I think my phone was like ruined later that night. And then I was able to say,

I go, Hey, maybe just say no to that one. Like maybe just say no to that one. That was like sort of an epiphany for me to go just to have these in the middle of the day. And it's a picture of the guy emailing. By the way, good looking guy.

This is like an action shot in a wedding. This guy walks with serious confidence. This guy has Dion Waiter's wedding confidence. And then there's all these posts saying we matched on Hinge. Super weird, super suspicious. Okay, so that's not what you want to do if you're not actually...

It's your picture, your details, but you're actually not the guy. So our guy continues, at first I found it comedic, but then realized the group has roughly 45,000 members, which has the potential to include family members and coworkers for all I

know. And I'd hate for them to think lesser of me or see me in a negative light. Not to mention, how does this affect me meeting new women? Well, dude, based on your picture, I'm not worried about you at all.

good idea because they use like you know marriage certificates birth records baptisms and shit like that so once you get like a line of like two or three people going it it's like algorithm be like we think we found your dad we may have found this person's mother and you know once you get back like i don't know 100 years 150 years you're like kind of guessing and so i don't know i look up at like two in the morning i'm in the 1500s and i realized like i don't even know if these people are like i don't know it just it said that there was a another creighton born 25 years before his possible son and now you know now i'm related to robert the bruce bro i don't know but i'm just saying like but it's like you don't do a ton of research and you just like you're like yeah this seems like the guy i don't know so he kind of got like he looks sort of like somebody on this

website and somebody just confirmed it so now there's two people that have like some line to him where one doesn't even really exist right uh what what just happened there so you you just went back to the 1500s one night about a month ancestry you didn't do the dna thing though like you just you just did it like via names well i mean that's like 60 bucks dude and then i gotta send something to me i had a gifted to me and i did it uh and i kind of regret it but because now i get emails why i'm like oh because there's like oh this, this person, you know, whatever. And then it connects. I'm not.

I also don't want to reconnect with any of these people. I don't want to find any long lost relatives. I just don't want any cousins. I want to see what's going on back. Like I got a family. I'm good. Yeah. For now, I don't need long lost cousins.

there was always like kind of like greek jokes I don't want to say it was like a it was like a it was like a tall tale in our family like that. Apparently, like one of our great, great whatever relatives like murdered somebody in France and then moved to Italy because my family's kind of right on the Italy. We're from like the Genoa area. So it's kind of right in your France there. And apparently, yeah, apparently this guy like fled France, changed his name to Cerruti and just changed the spelling

from D-E to T-I at the end. And we became from French, we became Italians. I tried to see if that was true. Wasn't on there at all. So that was the only thing. That was the only reason I actually did it. That's a good reason. But once you know, you hang out the Mediterranean a lot, depends on which part you hang out, you start to realize

that a lot of it just kind of gets pushed together. I'm vaguely Mediterranean. That's what I call it. That's nice. That's a good way to put it. Reincarnation is interesting. I agree. I don't really get it. I don't know.

I feel like I believe in nothing, but I'm open. Anything's possible. Yeah, right. I totally agree. That's probably not true, but maybe. It's like. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Totally agree. Right. Like that's probably not true, but maybe it's like me early in the football season. Yeah.

Maybe he's good. I don't know, but I just don't like every time I'll hear somebody talk about like, if they're super into reincarnation, which is not often, I'll admit, I don't, I don't come a lot across along a lot of these conversations,

but you know, it was like, Oh, I was a Victorian, whatever. You're like, all right, cool. Now what? You know, like, oh, I was a Viking. Like, all right, you still got to pick up your kids three. You know, like, I don't, I don't know where the value, and it's never, it's never something that isn't interesting.

Right. My, my mom, I was was i was a farmer's assistant my mom this my mom's husband this summer was out at the little fireplace out in the front yard there and he told me like he had like a specific like he said there's like seven levels of it and he's got all these fucking crazy books and he was like explaining not that i was like looking away like trying to do that thing that i do or i'm like let's yeah wow that's crazy let's move on like where's the cool rain yeah yeah but uh he just kept going he's telling me there's like i don't know eight levels of this or seven levels and what happens with light and stuff like that i i mean i've never been more out

on anything that lasted longer than that happened so uh yeah big big reincarnation guy i think he said he's on level he must be on level four or something because uh answer like level one or something you know but every time i've ever heard anyone tell me their reincarnation story and i'll listen i'll go okay it's always something fascinating and i'm like that not that many of us are this interesting. Well, the ones that are really cool, if you've ever seen those, I think I saw one on Instagram the other day of like this little kid who was like seven who was vividly recalling the memories of some guy who was born in the 1850s. And you're like, hey, how do you explain that? I don't know. Script parents ahead of time, fake videos.

I think every video is fake. But you're open. I'm just saying. Right, like the guy in the wakeboard catching the fish that doesn't do anything when he grabs it out of the water. That fish has been dead for a week. All right. Oh, so good luck, man.
