Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Science of Flipping Podcast. I'm your host, Justin Colby. Yo, yo, what up, everybody? Welcome to this training. I actually got, first and foremost, I want to say thank you to everyone who is so engaging on my social media. If you are not following me on social media, my Instagram is the Justin Colby. The public figure page is the Justin Colby on Facebook. I have a personal page on Facebook, but it already has 5,000 friends. So if you're watching this, make sure to like, and follow my Facebook page, the Justin Colby, as well as make sure to go on Instagram and follow me there. I try to do my very best to answer everyone's questions possible. Um, and I get a ton of questions. So, um, from time to time,
Starting point is 00:01:01 I will create these recordings where I'll actually go live on Facebook and use this video both on my podcast on iTunes and I'll put it on my YouTube account, but also to be able to answer some of these questions. So thank you very much for the engagement on social media. This question actually struck me as something I wanted to go live on. You guys all know that I work directly with a lot of people one-on-one in the real estate investing space, as well as the business space. It's a purpose of mine. It's a pleasure of mine. It fulfills me. And one of the things people ask me is why do I do it? But this question that I actually got right now, I'm going to read it on Instagram was great. And so I want to be able to offer up this answer to
Starting point is 00:01:45 you is what really inspires you? What makes you keep going? Is the family, the money, the luxury or what? And I think that's a great question because for those of you who do know me and are close to me, you do know I drive a very nice car. You do know I like nicer things. I tend to have expensive shoes, clothes, even down to my luggage tends to be expensive, watches. I love those things. But at the end of the day, those are just things. And I work my tail off and I work my ass off to be able to afford those things. I never buy things that I can't afford or I can't pay cash. So that'd be the first thing is anything that I't afford or I can't pay cash. So that'd be the first thing is anything that I'm buying, I can always pay cash, but that's not why I do this.
Starting point is 00:02:31 That's not what inspires me. Um, that is not what keeps me going. Um, I will tell you above all else, it is collecting the moments and collecting the memories. That is what keeps me going. That is why I do this. That is why I work so hard. That is why I create these training videos. That is what keeps me going. That is why I do this. That is why I work so hard. That is why I create these training videos. That is why I go out on social media and at times I look like an ass and I embarrass myself because I want to give back. But also, I want to be able to offer up my input. And for that, what makes me drive, what keeps me going above all else is not the money it is not the things it is collecting the moments it is collecting the memories
Starting point is 00:03:09 with people that I love for those again that know me you know I love to travel you know I'm always going somewhere and that is based around the fact that a I'm working my ass off and I deserve it but B is because I'm usually with people that I love and cherish and I want to collect those memories in those moments that will last a lifetime you know I just went and got a super high-end luxury condo and I'm moving to that now and those things are all great and does that make my life a little bit more comfortable and, uh, that helps me relax? Absolutely. But the reality is, it's also an experience that I'm going to be having for the next, however long. Um, and it
Starting point is 00:03:57 will give me, um, some energy to keep going because those things, and, and when I say things, so the lifestyle plays why I do it, right? So to live in the house that I really want to live in is super important. Does it cost a lot more than the condo I was in? Yes. Uh, is this a lot more expensive? Yes. And it's not about the money. It's about being able to feel fulfilled, to be comfortable, allowing me to keep my creative juices, allowing me to have the same desire and push and drive that I have every day for business, allowing me to give back to you. Traveling, I've gone so many places this year already, but going out of country, I just got back from Bimini. If you guys have never been to Bimini, it's an incredible Island, the Bahamas. Uh, if you're from Florida or the East coast,
Starting point is 00:04:48 you may have heard of it from the West coast. You probably haven't. It is incredible. Um, I'm going to be going to deer Valley, Utah with some of my closest friends and business partners, Kent Clothier and Sean Terry and, um, Brett Tanner. And, and, you know, I'm going to Vegas for my buddy's birthday with Brett Tanner and his wife. And these are all moments. These are all times, memories that I can share with people that I cherish and love and traveling with my girlfriend and being able to have those moments. And we're going to be heading down to Mexico. I mean, we're just doing so much. That's why I do what I do. That's what inspires me. That's
Starting point is 00:05:26 what keeps me moving is to collect the moments. Yes. Again, do I like nice stuff? Absolutely. But the reality is I want the moments. I want to collect those memories. I want to share those memories for the rest of my life because that's all we ultimately have. And I want to do it with people that I love, my friends, my family, my girlfriend, my business partners. We just took the team and we all went out to a concert together. And I mean, those are the memories that we had to share. So for those of you who are figuring out, how do I get inspired? How am I going to keep working this hard? How am I going to keep doing what I'm doing? Figure out how to look at it as a lifestyle play. Because if it can afford you the lifestyle that you want, meaning the traveling, the things, the memories, that will always keep you motivated. That's what keeps me motivated. I hope this helped you. It was something that I really wanted to focus on for you guys. It is a lifestyle play. It's all about the lifestyle play for me and doing it with my friends and family and loved ones. So hopefully you guys enjoyed. Peace out. Appreciate you guys.
