What is up, everybody? What is up? Welcome back to another episode of the Science of Flipping podcast. I am your host, Justin Colby. And if you've not gone over to thescienceofflipping.com, check out all the free resources over there. Please an opportunity to speak with me or one of my team members on a
strategy session to see if we can help you navigate 2021 and crush it big time going into the new
year. As I'm recording this episode, Christmas just passed us. We are getting ready for New Year's
and jumping into 2021. So let me ask you, when is the right time for coaching?
Is coaching or mentorship right for you?
And before you start thinking, oh, well, I don't have the money or that's just another
investment or whatever negative thought could be jumping into your head, let me first tell
you this.
This year alone, I am getting close to spending. I'm over 75,000. I believe I'm somewhere in the
$80,000 worth of coaching and masterminds for me in my own business. So yes, I am a coach. Yes,
there's an investment to make, but I always see the value in leveling up. It is something that is
really a core value of mine. It's something that I know is as good as I am. And as far as I've come,
there is so much further to go. And so the question then is posed, why should I get a coach or who is the right coach for me?
Well, it just depends on what you're trying to achieve.
As a coach, I always start with the end in mind.
In fact, my real estate coaching is called the swim method masterclass.
And what it stands for start with the end in mind.
Because wholesaling and rehabbing is what we focus on. Every aspect of those
businesses I approach with starting with the end in mind first. So if it's about marketing,
how many leads are you trying to bring in? How much money do you have? If it's about KPIs,
are you tracking your KPIs? What are you trying to achieve? If it's about sales and negotiating,
what are you saying? Are you
trying to get a contract today? Start with the end in mind. Or if it's about your exit strategy,
right? Depending upon your exit strategy, you might walk into that appointment with the seller
and negotiate differently if you have a different exit strategy, whether you're wholesaling or
flipping or wholetailing or buying and hold, maybe you're doing some seller finance or creative investing. And so
you really want to approach the business with the end of mind. So when posed the question,
is coaching right for you, regardless of it's me or someone else, the first thing you need to be
asking yourself is, are you at the place where you feel good?
Do you feel like where you're at is okay?
Right?
Like, I've achieved a lot.
This is really a good year going into 2021.
And if no, then that's your first little hint.
Like, should I be around those that have done more than me?
Should I be listening to a process?
If you're at a place where you feel overwhelmed, right?
With all the YouTube videos that are out there,
all the podcasts that you might be listening to,
you might not just be listening to my podcast.
You might be listening to a billion podcasts, right?
There's so many great podcasts.
And you might be feeling like you're drinking from a fire hydrant.
Well, that simply is just saying you don't really have a true process, a blueprint that you should be feeling like you're drinking from a fire hydrant. Well, that simply is just
saying you don't really have a true process, a blueprint that you should be following.
And as you go into the year 2021, you should be asking yourself, how do I level up? How do I get
to the next level? How do I go from where I'm at today to where I want to be. And if you think the way I think, it's always me surrounding my people
who have been there before, done it before. They've overcome those hurdles and strategies.
And that's why I know coaching is the route. Now, I will say this one time here, but I say it all
the time. It's never a lack of resources. It's a lack of resourcefulness. It's never whether you have the
cash in your bank right now, whether you should do coaching. It's are you resourceful to get it?
Can you use a credit card? Can you get PayPal credit? I literally am getting emails daily
from all these lending companies offering me business credit daily. Are you resourceful enough to take
advantage of those opportunities? And so going into a new year, you really want to hit the ground
running. Now, as I've mentioned, whether it's me or someone else, I always champion coaching. I
always champion mentorship because it really is how you get to the next level.
And if you're sitting there and this is resonating with you, then I would encourage you go to the science of flipping dot com and apply for a strategy session with either myself or one of my team members to see if we can help you want to be yet, then that should be enough for you to say,
hey, I want to talk to Justin and his team about how do I get to where I want to achieve.
And more often than not, the reason people aren't where they want to be is they lack
structure.
They lack systems. They are just running as fast as they can
with what they know so far or what they think they know. And that's because people don't see
the value of the investment. And that is just, that's where you go wrong. That is broken thinking.
The investment, first of all, is 100% write-off
for tax reasons. But secondly, it's an investment in what can earn you six figures, strong six
figures, even seven figures a year into building your business. And if you're not feeling good
about where you're at in your business, you're not feeling good financially about where you're at for your family, you're not feeling good about what
you can provide your family, then that is something you really need to take a look at
because it's not that you don't know how or have the ability to win.
It's you don't have a system, a structure, a blueprint, a game plan to just follow and
not think about whether you're doing the right thing.
You see, I do this, like I said, I'm somewhere north of $80,000 in investments this year into
coaching and masterminds. I joined two different masterminds and I hired two different coaches.
And it's because I believe I have so much growth to achieve. I know I can get to where I want to
be and even when I get there, I will probably move that bar up and that's how you should be thinking.
I have students in my class, in my coaching program that are already earning seven figures
and they know they want to level up and then have students in my coaching program that literally trying to get their first deal right now. And by the way,
they are learning from each other because the challenges at each level can be different,
but there's a lot of similarities. It's interesting to see that many times some of the
most experienced students I have actually will forget some of the practices,
the actions they should be taking that actually got them where they're at.
And that's when I'm talking to maybe more of a newbie who may have done their first or second
or third deal, and I'm helping them scale a little bit and get some consistency. And someone who's
already done 10 deals this month totally forgot about that. And it's not
even on their radar anymore because they've grown in their own head. They've grown past it,
but then they realize, oh my God, that's what got me here. Why am I not still doing that?
And so it's really incredible to see that with individuals who are doing really well already. And then obviously those that are actually starting to put a process in place.
I always use sports analogies.
I'm a sports guy.
And so for me, it's always, you know, I related to the NFL, right?
So if you think about some of the best teams, right, there's Bill Belichick is the head
coach for the New England Patriots,
but not only is there a head coach,
there's an offensive coordinator coach.
And not only that, there is a quarterback coach.
The quarterback being the most important player
on the offense for sure.
He has his own dedicated coach
because you can't just have one layer of coaching.
You need to have consistent layers because a quarterback needs to know a three-step drop to a five-step drop to a
seven-step drop he needs to know where he should be holding his ball in those drops where he's
releasing the ball at the time of throw when he's scrambling where he needs to check down like all
of those things are so important and it's because that's how important coaching is.
Right. And so, again, I hope this finds you in a place that you're at today and is encouraging you to think.
Think about what you want for 2021. Think about what you want to achieve.
Think about are you OK with being OK? Are you OK financially with where you're at? And if you are and you don't want more, all
good. But if you want more, if you're not able to live the life that you want, then I would
encourage you to really be thinking about getting on a call with me and my team and seeing if we
could help, seeing if we're a good fit for you and you're a good fit for us. Because there are times where it's not a good fit on one side or another.
And that's okay.
But it's time for you to get what you deserve.
For your family to get what they deserve.
For you to make the income that can create a lifestyle that you all deserve.
That's what 2021 is.
And that's what I challenge you guys.
These calls are free.
There's no cost to this.
But come on board and see if we can help you.
See if we can put together that blueprint that is a process,
that is a fundamental plan for you to execute on so you don't have to think.
I hope you guys are finishing 2020 with your loved ones, with your
family. I wish nothing but the best for you guys. I'm here for you. If you have not yet, I'm dropping
a video a day on YouTube. Get over to the YouTube channel. Just find me, youtube.com forward slash
