What a cool...
You know, so we have a lot of grapplers, obviously, listening in.
Yeah.
There's a connotation with Sumo.
Yeah.
Can you give us like a 10 second,
this is Sumo.
Okay.
This is why it's cool.
Go respect it and watch it.
Yeah, yeah.
Dry in the sun and then put...
You will never wash it?
You can't like put this thing...
This is heavy.
Hold the whole thing.
There will be no crotch on this, I promise.
All right.
It's not that heavy, dude.
It's kind of heavy.
You can't just put that in the washing machine.
You can put this in the washing machine. You think so?
I mean put it in the basket you could put I challenge you to put this in the...
You just want me to break my washing machine.
Alright guys welcome back to Shintaro Gassho PDU this is not PDU this is Sensei Seth.
Yeah you can also just call me Seth please. Seth I know, I like that, I prefer it.
It's good alliteration.
I've caught some heat for it.
No, Sensei Seth.
No, it's good.
Okay, all right.
No one ever calls you Seth by Seth?
No, I get sensitive, Seth, sometimes.
Are you sensitive?
Yeah, sure.
Are we all?
Yeah, we should be.
So Sensei Seth, big YouTuber, big YouTuber, 411 subs.
Yeah. 11,000. 411,000. Yeah. Right? And you're working on Instagram too. Trying. It's getting
up there, right? Yeah. How many? 80,000. Okay. All right. Yeah. Yeah. And then you started
up, we actually went on this journey together. Yeah. In the beginning. Yeah. And then I saw you
when I was like 80,000, I think. Uh-huh. And you had about 30,000 subscribers. Yeah. And then I saw you when I was like 80,000 I think,
and you had about 30,000 subscribers.
Yeah.
Right, and you've far exceeded me since then.
But what a story.
Tell us about your story.
It's, so it started off on Instagram.
Do you remember the bottle cap challenge?
Yeah.
So I first kind of like went viral
with the bottle cap challenge.
Awesome.
I was just doing spinning kicks.
I didn't want to have like an adult job,
so I hung out at my dad's gym all the time, bothered him.
He was a karate guy.
Yep, yep.
He still teaches to this day,
and pretty much I just hung around
and did fun stuff with the bags,
and then started filming it,
and those videos did well on the nose,
it was kind of cool.
Then eventually it kind of like peaked
at the bottle cap challenge, it was perfect timing.
It became like a, like it surpassed martial arts in general
to have a trend to do that, which is crazy
and it was just good timing
and then I put out a really cool video
and then I got some kinda social notoriety
within the martial arts community
and just started making YouTube videos from there.
Yeah, and in grad school I had like this premise community and just started making YouTube videos from there. Yeah.
And in grad school I had like this premise of like I wanted to travel the world and try
different martial arts.
Nice.
And then I just kind of forgot about it.
What did you study in grad school?
Marketing.
Wow.
Yeah.
You have a master's degree?
I do.
Do people know this on YouTube?
Probably not.
Probably not.
I kind of like, my jokes are kind of dumb.
So I love it.
What happens if I try to strangle a goat?
It would be a marketing.
Yeah, like it's amazing, dude.
I think if most people heard that, they'd be like, really?
Yeah, but yeah.
Yeah, so how is that marketing skill working out for you?
Obviously pretty good.
I think, I don't wanna keep anybody from going to school
so I'm gonna be careful how I say this,
my mom made me go.
Yeah, I was the same way.
She would've been incredibly disappointed in me
if I didn't go.
So that's primarily why I went to grad school.
I think I picked up stuff,
but I think I picked up more stuff
Just doing YouTube. Yeah, then I did from yeah, but I also don't have like a traditional job
Like worst-case scenario this doesn't work. Yeah in five years and I just I still have a marketing degree
Yeah, and I got a lot of experience from this which is cool. You can sit in an office now
Oh, I'd be no, no. How old are you now? 29.
That's a young little.
Yeah.
But you don't want to sit in an office now.
No, not even a little bit.
I think I would do absolutely anything possible before that.
So you're a full-time YouTuber now.
Yeah.
Which has its connotations.
But when you say I have 411,000 subs.
Yeah.
It puts you in a legitimized stratosphere yeah I don't
have to like I don't have to tell my parents reason why yeah like this is
gonna be fun to win my dad come on yeah when my dad I was running around the gym making videos, my dad's quote was like,
I'd be like, Dad, look, I got like 10,000 views on this Instagram video.
Maybe like that and a dollar will get you a pack of dough.
Yeah, so it took a while.
It took a while.
That's pretty good.
Yeah, no, that's what I mean.
It is witty.
Yeah, very witty.
But yeah, it took a while
um yeah but you that was a karate teacher yeah yeah so he must understand
the appeal of doing martial arts full-time yeah and then doing it on this
meeting where you showcase your skill yeah so he must have loved it right he
likes it now okay yeah I think at the beginning he was like skeptical I think
he just wanted his boy to have like yeah a nice stable job or even a. I think he just wanted his boy to have a nice stable job,
or even a gym, I think he wanted to take him to gym.
I mean, that's kinda how I started
as I hopped around homeschool co-ops, daycares,
part-time rec, and those teaching.
And then I was like, well, I could teach a lot of people
if I just taught online.
And it's something new that I think takes a bit of time to like.
There's videos of you grappling with Chris Weidman,
wonderful MMA.
Yeah.
All these guys.
Yeah, so like, that's really so fun.
How did that even, you're a karate guy.
Yeah, I have no idea.
I really don't know.
Like it's literally, it's at its root, like I think just social notoriety.
I think even me being here.
It's just like I, you know, sometimes the number associated with your name has like
some positive impact on how people see you.
Sometimes who you've hung out with or who people kind of put you next to, what they
think of people has a little bit of help to it.
With Wonderboy, I made a tutorial on how to do his spinning wheel kick that he does.
And he commented, was like, let's go, which is a very typical Wonderboy.
He's the nicest guy.
And I've sent him messages was like do you care?
Can I know can we make a video sometime? Oh, and he said yes
But before that I was a fan of his
To the point. He's the only
Martial arts guy that I like made an effort to visit. I was driving from where I went to college to
To my hometown and he was somewhere along
the way out of like the 20 hour drive.
So I was like, I sent him a message on Facebook.
This is a long time ago before I had any followers.
I said, Hey man, I'm a big fan.
Can I like drop by the gym and say hey?
Wow.
He's like, yeah, no, for sure.
Wow.
And I did it and I walked in the gym.
He didn't know who I was.
He goes, Seth, what's up?
And he walks over shakes my hand, hugs me. I was like, yeah
What just happened? Yeah, he makes you feel like the coolest guy. That's awesome. Yeah
Not a lot of guys like that. No, no, no, that's
it's kind of why I like to tell a story so much is because like
What do you see that really very rarely yeah it's so cool yeah
you never know who's nuts hit me up to cuz you probably get it too oh my god
this guy oh yeah I'm like oh yeah I travel a lot more careful about yeah I'll
tell you this but I've gotten some some crazy interactions oh I bet so if you
recognize it now yeah they do They do right? Yeah.
If I go into a martial arts gym I will probably get it at some point. Yeah. We had a guy here
actually mentioned me to me like hey man like uh he wants to see Seth's channel. Whoa. And I'm here
because of that. I can't remember who it was. He did a judo stint here.
Heck yeah.
Yeah, so maybe like twice it's happened.
That's the coolest thing.
That's so awesome.
It's just so fun.
And you started doing grappling.
That's when you reached out.
Yeah.
Like two years ago, right?
Yeah.
And then you're kind of like a grappler now.
Kind of.
It is.
Yeah.
Yeah, I guess so.
I guess so.
It is primarily what I do. If you would call sumo grappling. It is grappling
I
Do a little wrestling sumo wrestling. It is called sumo wrestling, but is it just called that in the US?
Yeah, like I think everywhere else is probably just called sumo. All right, well I don't but but
internationally people do tend to grapple more like you look at
you look at Ukraine or Azerbaijan or Poland, or they grapple a lot more.
They take their time.
They get to Washington.
They hang out for a second.
Then, like, you look at Japan, and they
will grapple when necessary.
But for the most part, they're trying to launch out. that's that's my goal too is I want to push people out immediately
Yeah
What a cool, you know, so we have a lot of grapples obviously listening in. Yeah, there's a connotation with sumo
Yeah, can you give us like a 10 second? This is sumo. Okay. This is why it's cool. Go
Respect it and watch it. Yeah. Yeah sumo to me is why it's cool. Go respect it and watch it. Yeah, yeah. Sumo to me is so cool
because of the stakes. In the US, I'll just give amateur sumo for a second. And if that doesn't
seem cool enough, I'll give you grand after that. But in the US, if I go to a tournament, I'm going
to go in my weight class, which is a little bit easier for us, because we don't have time to put on for her pounds.
So I'll go to a tournament and it is double elimination.
When you have a bracket, let's say your bracket's set up,
you and I are in the same division,
we have a match with each other.
If we both put our hands down, we clash,
one of us steps out, one of us falls,
probably happens within five seconds of a match.
So one match, five to ten seconds, most of them are even shorter than that.
Then you lose.
That's it.
It's not best two out of three.
It's not like in a lot of tournaments, if it's single elimination, you are done for
the whole day.
And best case, you get double elimination.
It makes it a little bit easier but Grand Sumo those guys get Mawashi'd up they have 15 days of
matches each day they have one match and there's just no way to want something
more than when you only have one opportunity to do it yeah and one day
and it's got a winning record to break up.
You 100% ace. You got to be eight or seven, eight and seven better. Yeah, it's entirely
based off of your five second performance and that's just the coolest thing and I
think it's such a fun combination of aggression, technique and just being
strong. Yeah, yeah. So you've been doing it for two years, you're already a national champion?
Yeah.
That's amazing.
It's pretty cool.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's a good time.
That's awesome.
And then so what's next for you?
World champion.
Wow.
And you know, so partially, I'm making content together today.
Yeah.
I want to know some of the best takeaways from Sumo for Juno.
Ooh.
So, you know, and I have like an idea about it, chest to chest and then to the listeners they might think
like oh yeah whatever. But really like that lateral stability, driving forward without getting
thrown, that's masterful with Sumo. Because you're coming up and underneath and you're
driving forward but you need to not get tipped to the side, and you need to not get launched over the person.
Right.
So like, if you think of it that way, like one of the most,
because you've done judo,
Yeah.
you're getting ready for a belt test for judo.
Yeah, that's right.
Right.
Yeah.
I would say the biggest,
one of the biggest takeaways is understanding aggression,
and using aggression to kind of get like,
a different defense than you had
before.
Like if I drive somebody hard, there's a good chance they will do something different.
Like they will either pivot hard or they'll maybe push back into me or they'll get something
else.
And then from there, because I am more aggressive, I'll get a more exaggerated defense, which
means you're more likely to do something with it.
I think the lifting is a pretty big difference. Being able to lift at any moment helps me get a little bit more takedowns. It gives me more time with people off their feet. I think, to me,
I think judo has taught me more about sumo, but there's definitely stuff that helps
me a lot.
I think just being really rooted, my Judo is probably different than most people's.
I'm pretty stagnant.
I don't have a lot of fancy footwork.
I try to make the most out of any small moment I can have. For right right now I'm very hard to take down. Oh yeah. I say
that. No. I haven't been in here. Even when you came here as a white belt with no
grappling experience, you were not easy to take down. Okay. Lifelong of training.
Yeah. Right. And just being a big strong athletic guy. I think it makes a big
difference to train in a way. I mean we're sitting in a way where I'm higher than you, but you're how tall six three six even
Yeah, we just say I'm six three. That's right. Yeah, I might be six four
But yeah, I think being big and strong
The nature of the dojo, it kind of eliminates being weak from being a winner.
Like you can't not be strong in the way.
You have to be at least a little strong.
You have to be able to execute things.
You have to be able to stop drives.
Dojo!
The ring.
Which is elevated.
Which is dangerous
yeah I like the elevated a lot more yeah um scary it is don't fall back I think
yeah you just got messed up in Japan no yeah they really do they really do they
really don't care that much the only time I've done elevated was at Worlds
everything else is like on like a two inch mat just goes like three feet past The only time I've done elevated was at Worlds.
Everything else is like on a two inch mat, just goes like three feet past the edge of
the ring.
But no, Worlds was the first time I did sand or clay and an elevated surface and it was
really cool.
It was very fun.
I wish I could do it like that all the time.
So what's your favorite thing in Sumo?
Like maneuvering, I'm sure you have tactics, right?
My most winning, my winningest thing is I try to just get great position right off the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the
top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of
the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of
the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of the top of I try to just... You played football in college? Yeah. Damn, do people know that? Um, they might.
I think they would know that before they knew I got a master's degree.
Oh, you played football in college and a master's degree and you're a sumo national champion.
There you go.
Yeah, there we go.
You're a top YouTuber, too.
Yeah, that's kind of why I wanted to do sumo, to be honest, because it felt like kind of
my last opportunity to become a champion in something.
Yeah.
Like kickboxing. We did it. We were national. It's a big something. Yeah, like kickboxing. We did it. It was nice. Yeah
That's what I figured is um is I'm good at it enough that I can I can do that and you actually train
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I trained sumo
Practice wise one to two times a week in a group setting. I lift specifically for Sumo, so I've got a trainer
that does college and pro stuff.
Do you do like, what do you do, front squats?
I do back squat deadlift and reverse barbell lunges.
Those are like my three pillars on each day of Monday,
back squat, Wednesday, deadlift,
and Friday.
I think goblet squats would be great. Like heavy goblet squats or like the zircher squats
because your hands are out in front.
Zircher squats specifically.
And then you're doing it with a wider stance, you know?
Yeah.
You ever do the ones where you kind of like slam it into the bag?
Yeah.
You do that?
Yep. Yep. So that's, if I'm training by myself, I'm either doing the tachiai or doing sipari's
on the bag.
Yeah. I do the shiko walk. or doing some paris on the bag.
I do the Shiko walk.
I do a little bit of Shiko.
Shiko is supposed to be like the thing.
It is the exercise.
I very rarely do it.
I think it's important, but I think I've trained enough stuff otherwise that I don't need to
sit in the same spot for four hours doing shinkos.
Yeah, I hope people get really angry.
I'm sure they will.
Did you see the documentary, the Netflix show?
It was so good.
Sanctuary.
Yeah, it was fantastic.
It kind of ruined me for a little bit because everyone would be like, you're the guy from
Sanctuary.
I'm like, yeah, stop.
You know.
I got, people say that.
I got that vibe.
Well, if you're sure sure that guy's probably like 22
If I had to guess yeah, you look like you gave a lot of weight for that
Yeah, you ever see him not heavy now when he looks like a normal person now
Totally different that's a person he gained weight for that role as a bigger guy. He looks like he has a
It it wasn't in a bad way, but he looked like he saw a it it wasn't in a bad way but he looked
like he saw a pretty athletic body yeah even despite being a much bigger I didn't
I was in it's really funny how people carry body fat to you see those guys
with like a very smooth round belly but humongous shoulders and traps yes and
that's a different type of a jack look yeah it's almost like the power lifter
yeah you know the juice of power, yeah. Those guys are freaking strong. They are.
Or like the strong man look. But some guys carry too much in the mid section.
Yeah. The distribution is different.
Yeah. So they may be able to lever you up with the belly too, right?
You see these big Georgian dudes. Yeah. It's hard to get underneath.
Anytime that it's like super pronounced, it's so hard to get leverage.
It's so hard to get underneath them. It's a lot easier when they're built wider because
actually, I don't know. It's just easier to get in on them.
So if you haven't already, go look up Sensei Seth's YouTube channel and you do all sorts
of martial art related content. Are you the leader in martial arts YouTube right now?
You must be. I don't think so. I mean who else is there Jesse and can't
get out there how many is he uh he's up in the millions yeah he's got a million
Henner Gracie's a big one in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu yeah yeah yeah he and her they
both do well um and you're up there you're top five I think on my monthly viewership I might be top 5.
What's your monthly view?
I don't get my leg in a million.
Not trying to compete.
I mean it's probably not too far off.
It's probably pretty similar.
Okay, how often do you upload?
Twice a month.
Oh wow, that's a lot less than...
Every other Saturday.
Wow.
But I edit each video like a full week
and a half it takes a long time that's incredible it takes a long time I have
the opposite approach it drains my I'm absolutely minimal amount of work I get
in front of the camera yeah 20 minutes that's it and I said it to my guy and
I'm like all right you edit it you post it I'm gonna do that you're you're
skilled well versed enough they're like that like you just say it and then you don't have to change anything.
For me, I don't think that's the case.
I had to like sit there for a week and be like...
No, but you have a story to tell.
You tell the story.
I'm just showing techniques.
You know what I mean?
So it's very different.
There are different types of moves.
That's amazing.
Yeah.
We're gonna do some sumo today?
100%.
All right.
What is the likelihood that I could beat you in a sumo bout?
I'll give you...
I don't wanna beat that guy. 25%? That's a good odds. 25%? Yeah, it depends on
how active you are. I gotta tell you this, right? I think you could,
being that you've thrown me many a time, but the question is can you throw me within a ring of swan?
I don't think I can throw you in the context of sumo.
I bet you can.
No, I don't think so. Because hand position, grip fighting, and hand fighting in wrestling, very different from hand placement in sumo.
So when you start coming up underneath onto my lats and then my elbows flare out there's no handle or I have
like a closed loop to give the throw. That is true. I also lose matches that way though because you'll
have your hands on and then a good that I don't have any grip so a good swipe or I lost matches
the world's from having a position losing it and then having so much forward momentum that I go down. Yeah.
It's interesting, man.
It's a very particular sport.
No, I 100% respect it.
And then the only thing I might foresee is like, okay, I have to get a grip on you for
me to use my judo.
And then using the Mawashi, I've never used it.
So it's like, I don't know what that feels like.
It may not have the same bite as grabbing the belt or a gi.
It has a lot more so there's a lot of interesting factors
that kind of you know we're gonna do a sumo match you vs Eugene too
please let's do it let me go eat eat so eat a few burgers in here yeah we'll do
250 pound sumo champion versus 150 pound YouTube, no Eugene.
150 pound Eugene.
Yeah, so that's a lot of interesting, but I'm like really excited and I will tell you right now,
every time on my wrestling team in college, we have those little rings, you know, cut for the warm up.
Alright, let's do a little bit of sumo for warm up.
Oh, nice.
I never lost it once.
Wow.
And we did sumo here.
See, I think you'd probably be really good at it.
You know, I feel like it just because the nature of Woody being Japanese.
What do you weigh?
200 pounds.
200?
Yeah.
Do you think I was born?
I did think you were born.
Yeah.
205 maybe.
Okay.
Not more than 210.
If I keep questioning.
I would say you would smash it. National Sumo? Probably. What's the world record? Up to 187 and 220, 220, 254, 254. Wow.
Yeah.
I'm so excited to do some tuna-wearing today.
You've got to teach me some stuff.
I'll teach you some stuff.
I'll tell you one time, I was in Japan at Izakaya, just having burgers and stuff with
my friend.
It wasn't burgers, it was yakitori, Japanese food.
I don't know why I said burgers.
But he was this guy, he's like this round dude, and then we get to chat and he's like,
I do sumo.
Okay. And then he got drunk and he's like, round dude, and then when we get to chat, he's like, I do sumo.
And then he got drunk, and he's like,
let me show you something, you know?
And then, you know, like chest to chest,
the way he like hooked the elbow,
and then put the hand on the lat,
I use it in Nogi Judo, in wrestling.
Wow.
And it's pretty amazing, so, you know,
things like that, I'm really excited to.
There's little nuances that I think the Mawashi create.
It stinks, because when I move over to Judo, I reach over this great grip and all I've
got is like a little belt.
It moves so much more.
It comes off the body like this much.
When you're with Mawashi and Judo tonight, we're already planning on doing Judo versus
Sumo and all my guys doing Judo with you.
Then you're going to go to the back. It's kind of like we're setting it up a little bit for the guys. We're already planning on doing Judo versus Sumo and all my guys doing Judo with you.
Then you're gonna go to the back.
It's kind of like we're setting it up a little bit
for the guys.
No one knows that we're gonna do this.
You could have just walked in in a Mowashi.
You're not gonna be bare ass, right?
I can be if you want me to.
I can be.
There might be some people
that might get uncomfortable with that.
I think that's why it's not more popular. I think that is the sole reason it's not more
popular. You know, when we're talking about basketball and wrestling, I wanted to play
basketball instead of wrestling. Yeah. Number one reason why I didn't want to wrestle,
the sad last bit was because of the singlet. That's why I didn't wrestle. Yeah. Cause you know,
some of my friends at the time were like, oh, you wore that thing. Yeah. I was like, nah,
no, no, no, it's cool. It's very strong and namely.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, everybody's wearing the very loose
basketball shirt.
At the time for you, the basketball shorts
would have been down to like here.
Yeah.
Right?
Yeah, a little different than a singlet.
That's probably why I didn't wrestle, to be honest.
I had an opportunity to tune in
between baseball and wrestling
when I was in like the sixth grade
and I chose this touch.
Man, you see the spandex stuff
with the high on the shoulders and then
The thing and you know at that age no one's really jacked. No exactly. So you see these like curved angle
Yeah, nobody and then so it's like you get your peers wearing this thing
You're like no way. So what yeah, maybe
It's pretty typical I think I've only only gone, they call it going traditional.
I've only gone traditional for two turns.
One of them, it was a day that you had to for an open way.
And then the other one was because I had a match with you.
And you have it on you?
Yeah.
Oh man, I can't put that.
You know, traditionally you're not supposed to wash it.
I haven't washed it.
You haven't never washed it?
I've like sprayed it off
but no most I just let it sun dry it's not cotton no you want to feel it?
not really no I mean you're gonna have to grab it at some point today yeah so what is
it made of um I don't know to be honest, and you've never washed. I've I don't I've I've lice. Oh this part is not
No, no. No. Yeah, you're gonna. Do you know which part goes onto the?
I'm not trying to mock you anything probably right about
Here there's definitely a smell to the thing it doesn't smell the best
Yeah, yeah, but I have keys that smell like that. So yeah, exactly. Well, right now it's, it smells like Lysol right now.
I sprayed it down heavy yesterday just for you. I let it dry. I let it dry in the sun.
You will never wash it. You can't like put this thing. This is heavy. Hold the whole thing.
There will be no crotch on this. I promise. It's not that heavy, dude. It's kind of heavy. You can't
just put that in the washing machine. You can put this in the washing machine. You think so? You can put it in a basket. I challenge you to put this in the...
You just want me to break my washing machine. No, it'll... You spray it off and then leave it outside. Okay. You know, in the judo they say in martial arts period, don't wash your belt.
Oh, I've heard that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I wash my belt though.
I wash my belt.
Yeah.
It's a white belt so I figured I'd...
Yeah.
But that's why, you know, that's where the black belt comes from, you know what I'm saying?
From just not washing it?
Yeah, so they only had white gis, white belt.
Yeah.
And then they would train.
Yeah.
And you know, everyone's heard this a million, so bear with me if you're listening.
Like, oh my, here's that story.
White belt gets dirty, you don't wash it.
Gi you wash, gi stays white, the belt gets dirtier and dirtier and dirtier.
You walk into the dojo and the guy with the dirtiest belt is probably the biggest savage.
That sounds more realistic than the one I know, which is it starts off as white and
then you bleed on it and then it becomes red.
Because it depends on what order you go in for the rank.
And then that red turns to brown from crossing over.
And then eventually turns black.
Interesting.
That's got to be a karate match. I think so. It's definitely It does. And then eventually turns black. Interesting. But like.
That's gotta be a comedy.
I think so.
Yeah.
It's definitely not true.
It's, it's.
No, but it kinda is.
You would have to bleed so much.
Yeah.
I mean, we're not fighting with knives in general.
So definitely not bleeding that much.
No, and if you did, if you bled that much, you're not making it to blackmail.
No.
You're dying. You're not. Yeah to blackmail. No, you're not Yeah, yeah
Yeah, 100% but no, it's a cool cool story. Yeah, it is cool story and then therefore you don't
Wash it. It's kind of like the thing. Yeah, and if you wash it goes all your knowledge that you've gained
Yeah, because you develop this patina with your wisdom
because you develop this patina with your wisdom, a patina. It's like a watch gets patina or patina like when the old creamy look.
Yeah. It's like a vintage. I do like when my geese look like that.
Yeah. I like a geese that looks like it's been worn a bunch.
So it's like the opposite. So then eventually they were like, right, white belt, black belt.
Yeah. And they made that.
Yeah. And then it became like, right, black belts get so so worn out it almost looks like a white belt yeah that became the
cool thing and then the French I believe were like let's put color belts in
between yeah I heard that too there's a French yellow, blue, purple you know yeah and now we have the
whole belt system right you know and here we are. Yeah Anyway, and I'm stressing about a yellow belt test or an orange belt test
Maybe it depends how well I do here
Can you imagine I give you a belt here and then you showed up at that place with the higher belt and then you're like
Alright, you gotta give me one belt now
Yeah, I'm like I could just keep going there from now on
What are you gonna give me? What do you have in return? Who gave me that belt? Like, you can send him a link. Yeah. He's like, alright, he's done a load, you know.
They'd have to honor it. Yeah, probably. So what is, where can these guys find you?
Just type in Sensei Seth, pretty much anywhere. I should be there. YouTube? YouTube, TikTok, Instagram. I don't really make much on TikTok.
But yeah, if you look me up, I'm probably there.
Awesome. All right, let's do it. Thank you for being on the podcast.

If you throw me...
Actually, I don't know.
It's kind of part of my channel that I would post that.
I'm not going to go for the throw.
I'm telling you right away. You're not going to go for the throw. I'm telling you right away.
You're just going to go for the push out?
Because I don't feel confident that I could throw using the Mowashi properly.
Like I feel like...
It's the same as a belt grip.
But you know, like, it's way stronger.
Like you get a way better grip.
Oh yeah?
A way better grip.
I'm afraid it'll slip.
Like you know you can't go to your knees and slip.
That's true.
I don't want to go for a throw and put my hand down and then that all you suck. Yeah, so I want to like
I have a little bit of a struggle. I'll let you keep your secrets. Yeah, I'll let you keep your secrets
Interesting. All right. Stay tuned for that guys. Yep Thank you.
