hello everyone welcome back to the shinto higashi show with peter you today i have to give you a big
big update and uh tell you why i have not been uploading that many videos reels youtube videos
all those things random people have been popping into my dm saying like hey man we miss you what's
going on yeah i'm gonna tell you why oh geez yeah yeah i've noticed that too why why haven't you know why already yeah i hope you guys are
all sitting down yeah it's a it's a heavy it's a heavy topic guys i mean we're kind of joking
around here but yeah there has been a big update yeah in shintaro's life so what happened to you
man my girlfriend broke up with me okay that's that's heavy a lot more than that actually
yeah well yeah so she did break up with me but right before my girlfriend broke up with me
i had an ischemic stroke if yeah ischemic stroke what does that even mean So it was a clot that traveled to my brain and it blocked the blood flow to my brain.
And then, yeah, it's a stroke, a full-blown stroke.
So there's a clot in your brain.
It's called an LVO, a large vessel occlusion.
Yeah.
So hold on.
Before we move on, can you move the microphone closely? Oh, yeah
Yeah, sorry, that's a side effect. Yeah
I can't even tell if this blurry on the video my eyes are the actual dog. It is actually blurry. So good good
It's not me. Yeah. Yeah
I don't know why I can you oh, yeah now it's good. Yeah, that's it's good Alright so back to the stroke
Yeah I got a stroke
Or do you want to talk about the girlfriend first
Let's give everyone a whole story
Whole story
Well maybe from my
I'll start with how I found out
And then you can kind of fill in
So basically
It was Tuesday And we usually record on wednesday
so i was trying to like i hit you up in the morning and say hey man like you down to
record tomorrow and then we're like just chit chatting and you told me you and your girlfriend
are going to italy the next day i knew about the trip i forgot it was like the day
after so i was like oh so nice man so excited for you yada yada yada and then you didn't respond to
me for a while yeah and then you just randomly sent me a photo of you all hooked up yeah with
the with the with the some image like medical image i don't even know
of your brain i was in hospital for five days dude i was actually trying to text you
in the middle of the stroke yeah so what happened there yeah we're just chatting about the trip and
then what happened well all right so i go drop my kid off at school. I give you me a kiss. I love you.
I'll see you.
I'll pick you up after school.
I go to the gym.
I'm in the parking lot.
I'm on the phone with one of my contractors
because I have a proper investment property
that this renovation is going on.
I'm talking to him and I'm like,
yeah, yeah, we should do this.
We should do that.
And all of a sudden,
I couldn't speak anymore.
Couldn't talk anymore.
And the guy was like,
what are you talking about?
I was like,
you need to finish.
And I'm like, couldn't talk. It was like i had like marbles in my mouth or like i couldn't produce the speech and i'm like oh shit something's up i couldn't talk you you could you could think
everything i was thinking yeah i was like i gotta tell this guy to finish up the job soon like yeah
like the deadline's way past and i was like kind of getting annoyed right you know so i'm like
trying to talk to him but i couldn't and i couldn't get any way past and I was like kind of getting annoyed. Right. You know, so I'm like trying to talk to him, but I couldn't and I couldn't get any speech
out.
And I was like, ha, that's really weird.
So I was like, go, go.
And I hung up the phone.
Uh-huh.
I tried to get out of the car.
I like tripped.
My right leg didn't really work good.
You know?
Oh my God.
So I'm in the parking lot of the gym and then I like limp on over into the gym.
I dropped my phone like twice. I was trying to check in with the gym. I dropped my phone like twice.
I was trying to check in with the app.
I dropped my phone, pick it up, drop my phone, pick it up.
And the guy behind the counter is like, oh, you're feeling clumsy today, buddy.
And I'm like, yeah, you know, whatever, right?
You still went inside the gym.
I still went in the gym.
And then I was like, all right, I got to like work out.
That's what I thought.
I was like, it's a blood flow issue or something.
I don't know what it is.
I don't feel good.
Maybe I didn't sleep right. I don't know what it is i don't feel good maybe i didn't sleep right i don't know what it was so i'm in the
gym i start jumper open and my right side not working all right that's so it gets caught on
my right leg yeah and i fall over i dry again i fall over and it was like one of those things
was like so empty in the gym for some weird reason usually that time period i drop my kid
off at like 8 40 whatever it is i get in the gym it's
usually packed but it was really quiet that morning for some odd reason i don't know why
and then i'm like all right yeah yeah it's interesting you remember those weird details
yeah yeah maybe it's like a fake detail you know like maybe we're proud and everyone's just like
look how authentic you just made the gym quiet yeah and then i go over to the kettlebells and i'm like you know i used to do
100 pound kettlebells i do like 100 reps not in a row but i do like that right so i'm like all right
i'm just gonna go grab my kettlebells and do it i pick up the 100 pound kettlebell i can pick it up
right you could pick it up swinging it yeah and this is like one of my sources of pride.
I got six reps on that thing.
Oh, gosh.
Mid-stroke,
while having an ischemic stroke.
I'm like falling over.
My right arm's not really working.
So it's like my left arm doing most of the work.
And then I go to put it down
and I fall down to my knees.
Oh.
And I had a hard time getting up to my feet.
Do you feel dizzy?
Do you feel dizzy?
I was off balance.
My right side wasn't working. So I was like trying to get up to my feet. Do you feel dizzy? I was dizzy. I was off balance. My right side wasn't working.
So I was trying to get up to my feet.
But I couldn't lift
my right leg up.
Oh my God. So I lifted my left
leg up, right? And then I
pulled myself up, right?
And I grabbed my phone to
and then my phone drops out of my
head. And I'm like, okay, something's
wrong. Right.
And then I was like, all right, let me just get some cardio man so i go to the cardio machine oh my god you
you worked out again after that i was in the gym for 10 minutes i think 10 15 minutes i was still
trying to work out i didn't know what it was uh-huh so i get on the cardio i'm like almost
falling over and i'm like holding myself up with my good arm and i'm like all right i gotta go home
and sleep this off that's what my initial thought arm and i'm like all right i gotta go home and
sleep this off that's what my initial thought was yeah i probably didn't get enough sleep last night
i get in the car i'm like fucking swerving terrible driver what you know what i'm having
a stroke usually i'm pretty good right so there's this Asian guy driving. Yeah.
And not really helping with the stereotype.
No, yeah.
And then I'm driving and I'm like, I can't go home right now.
I got to go to the doctor.
Oh, thank God.
What a choice.
So I drove to my primary care's office.
Yes.
I go there and I get to the front desk, right?
I park my car.
Yeah.
So I'm like limping over and the lady's like, what's wrong? Are you okay? And I'm like, no, no, right? I park my car. Yeah. So I'm like limping over. And the lady's like, what's wrong?
Are you okay?
And I'm like, no, no, no.
Oh, my God.
And I was trying to tell her, like, I think I'm having a stroke.
I don't know why.
You knew that.
I don't know.
But I just thought I was.
I was like, this must be a stroke or something.
Yeah.
I wasn't having a heart attack because my heart wasn't, like, doing anything.
Right, right, right.
Like, you didn't have a chest pain or anything.
No.
And then the lady was like, I think you're having a stroke too.
Oh, she got the ambulance.
Yeah.
And then I was in the ambulance.
I was trying to text you, but my right hand was like not doing it.
So I was like trying to freaking text you.
And, you know, we get there.
They give me this TPA, which is like a life-saving medication.
You get four hours from the onset of the stroke to get it.
After that, they won't give it to you because risk of bleeding.
It's like a risk reward thing. Right? Right. Right. And then so they get it. Like,, they won't give it to you because risk of bleeding. It's like a risk-reward thing, right?
Right, right.
And then so they're like, you want to do this?
You want to do this?
You should do this, blah, blah, blah.
Sign here.
And I'm like, I can't really sign, but I'll just scribble the thing in there.
And they give it to me.
You have to consent to that?
Yeah.
Oh, I thought they would just give it to you because it's such an emergency.
And I was like, I can't do, like do like can I leave I kept asking if I leave
Yeah, no, you can't leave when you take this thing. You have to with the monitor you for 24 hours
Yeah, and I was like I'm going to Italy tomorrow a girlfriend. Oh
She's gonna be mad at me
Right
He's like you are not going to Italy no matter what scenario happens here yeah you're
fighting for your life right now you know and I was like I didn't know realize it was that serious
yeah yeah yeah so while I'm like you know telling so much detail I hold it in this much detail I
didn't anybody I need anybody for a long time. I knew the details because after a few days you told me and, I mean, it's kind of surreal.
I mean, I have to be really thankful that you're sitting here with me talking to me.
Honestly, guys, I mean, we like to joke around here, but just imagine if Shintaro had gone home and slept it off
he would have been
if I would have gotten on that plane to go to Italy
with my girlfriend
if he had that stroke
on the plane
he may not have been
with us
so yeah
that would happen I was in the hospital for 5 days
it was scary because I was in the hospital for five days.
It was scary because I was in the ICU, you know, monitoring me every hour, you know, around people who were dying, right?
People who were intubated, people who were in a much severe situation.
People's families are coming in.
They're crying.
They're screaming.
All this stuff.
Sorry it's such a depressing episode, guys.
I was extremely lucky, you know.
I don't have any of those deficits, but there are some minor deficits that I'm figuring out little by little.
You know what I mean?
I can't really focus for that long.
Looking at a computer screen gives me a headache.
I have headaches that come and go.
I forget stuff, like a lot of stuff.
I'll tell you a funny story, man.
The very next day, I was out and I was like, all right, I can't be sitting around feeling sorry for myself Day after I got out of the hospital So I was like alright
We gotta take you to the apple picking
Because we haven't gone apple picking yet
So I'm like mom you gotta drive obviously I can't drive right
So we go apple picking and on the way home
I'm like I want a salad from Panera Bread
And I go up to the guy at the desk
And I'm like hey man
Let me get that salad
Barbecue chicken ranch
What's in that thing
Lettuce chicken ranch bacon And I'm like, hey, man, let me get that salad, barbecue, chicken, ranch. What's in that thing?
And he's like, lettuce, chicken, ranch, bacon, this, that, this, that, this.
And I'm like, what's in that salad again?
Can you repeat that for me?
He's like, chicken, bacon, ranch, lettuce.
I couldn't process it.
I'm like, what's in that salad?
And the guy goes, yo yo man, pay attention.
And I was like, fuck you man, I had a stroke.
Like shut the fuck up and repeat.
Like I was going to lash it out at this guy, right?
And then I was like, wait, wait, wait, wait.
I can't get tough with anyone.
Because if I get punched, I'll bleed to death.
So I was like, can you just freaking repeat it?
I had a stroke, you know?
And like, I don't usually react like that though.
So I was a little bit like, what's up with up with that you know like i'm getting so aggressive here all right it's probably i couldn't understand what was in that salad and it was very like
wow am i gonna be living with this forever you know it was like kind of scary but now i went
to sweet greens all day and i was like what's's in that hot honey chicken salad? And the guy's like, it's not a
salad, it's a bowl.
And I was like, guy, it's a salad.
What's in it? And I was like, quinoa,
chicken, kale. And I was like,
okay, okay, okay. I was like, I got it.
And I was like this, I have it.
So,
I'm getting a little bit better.
It's crazy how
we take a lot of things for granted. Even like little things like that. Yeah better it's crazy how we take a lot of things for granted even like
yeah little things like that oh yeah so obviously i'm on blood thinners now
yeah all these different things which prevent me from doing judo obviously because if i get
thrown on my head and if i bleed in my brain it won't stop and i'm dead right so for now i gotta
like not do judo which is really really sad obviously you know I'm
grieving that you know because I want to grapple I really really like rolling
around with men and women I like being held down yeah so yeah it's been so
crazy you know and then yeah you know the day after I got out of the hospital, my girlfriend broke up with me.
Not Lara.
This is my first relationship out of that five-year thing.
I was in a five-year relationship, right?
Yeah.
My baby mama.
Did she listen to this?
I met this one.
Yeah, she was a very lovely, beautiful woman, but she's like i'm out oh man not that it
was perfect you know but it was like i mean it's a short relationship you know it's crazy like i
was watching like stroke survivor videos today people tell them their accounts but it's like
young stroke survivor stories or something like that right and i'm like watching it i'm like
listening listening and every single one of these women, it was like a women's thing.
I don't know why.
It was like five.
Female stroke survivors.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was like
five accounts of women.
Not one dude that I saw,
right?
It was just like the first five
that came up
or something like this.
And this woman was like,
yeah, I was drinking
a glass of wine
and I fell
and I came out
and my husband
taught me how to walk.
He was there for me
the whole time.
He's my rock. He never wavered and he was there for me the whole time he's my rock he never wavered
and he was there for me every step of the moment i'm like man what the hell is that like it did
not happen to me you know like oh my god out you know so it's okay i don't blame her man seriously
i don't blame her yeah i mean there was probably before i'll have to say, when you told me, I was very upset with her.
Because I'm Team Shintaro, you know?
Of course, I'm always on your side, but I can't lie.
I mean, I was very upset with her.
But Shintaro is a good boyfriend he defended
her to the end he's like I understand
I'm like it's not easy to face you know
your partner's mortality and it's still
a new relationship to it's not like it's
very new years yeah right so I get it
it's like still early on I even said
like this is your out like this is your
chance you know it might not be what you
wanted it to be and it's going to be a
rough road the next few months I don't know if I'm disabled
or not yet and I kept joking I was like I don't even know if my penis works
it's not funny like come on you gotta have a sense of humor about that well
it's it's you're you're having you're being a good sport about the whole deal
I mean honestly for me doesn't mean I wasn't scared you know I wasn't scared
yeah it's scared all that stuff throughout the whole deal I mean honestly for me doesn't mean I wasn't scared you know I wasn't scared yeah it's scared all that stuff throughout the whole process
while you were telling me I kept texting yeah I kept calling yeah thanks man I
appreciate that you know but you were keeping it light you say oh it's all
good I'm gonna be fine I died about it you know my wife's a doctor so she was
telling me all about this procedures likecedures, like, oh, like, he may have this and that.
And then, you know, she talked to you about the whole thing, too.
When I hear something cool, I was in the hospital sitting around doing nothing.
And this guy walks by, right?
He's a doctor there.
You're the guy, right?
I know it.
I knew you were the guy.
And he was like, I listened to your podcast.
And I'm not going to out his name with a hospital or anything like that.
But he was like, you're the guy. And then he was, like, talking about it. He did judo. He came to visit me. Like, I listened to your podcast. And I'm not going to out his name with a hospital or anything like that. But he was like, you're that guy.
And then he was talking about it.
He did judo.
He came to visit me.
I listened to your podcast.
He's like, did you talk to Peter?
Does he know yet?
I was like, yeah.
I told him.
And the guy's like, is it because Peter's wife's a doctor?
I'm like, man, you know, Peter's wife's occupation.
I was like, that's so cool.
And then he came visiting me the next day.
Yeah.
It's a chit chat to keep your your spirit like I felt like a little bit of
Liberty yeah, it's funny that he knows that my wife's the doctor so I told that to my wife when you told me
She was surprised I got how does she know that how does he know that I'm a doctor
Well, you know, he's a doctor too. So yeah, that's probably why he probably pays attention to those
yeah um but anyways throughout the whole process i wanted to say you know you kept it very light
and all so it was kind of a weird thing for me because i know i knew the severity of it
but yeah you kept it light so i guess i wasn't like as devastating i i don't know it's just i'm so glad that you're healthy now
well you know almost relatively healthy on your way to recovery yeah count my blessings like
seriously man i could have been crippled i could have been disabled i could have been
yes there's stuff that's happening they were like go see an occupational therapist speech therapist
yeah because the first thing that went was speech and sometimes i have a hard time recalling certain words yeah so it's like oh man i'm stuck like wow and sometimes
processing is difficult i forget a lot of my dad was like go get some c batteries c batteries yeah
he's like some of the carbon monoxide alarm went off or something or the battery dies like go get
some c batteries it's like c batteries not oh and I like went to get the batteries
and I came home and I had like a sandwich like where's what what's up and
he's like looking at me like hey where'd you just go and I was like I got a
sandwich bro like oh wait what do you want and he's like give me the batteries
with batteries oh shit I was like that's right I was like I went to get the
batteries and he went to a sandwich shop I think I got like a sandwich or something came home without
the batteries yeah I called my mom too like I don't know what the grocery store
I was like mama what do you I'm not Trader Joe's what do you want and she's
like all right and she was that kind of being nice about it too she's like
yeah it's an orange juice and some ham yeah you know i'm like all right forgot
the ham bro didn't get orange juice either actually you're like i came home with like my
favorite things like all the chicken tenders and stuff she's like where's the ham and the juice for
you know yumi's school and i was like gosh shit you ever watch that show on uh in netflix about
this uh you know little kids in Japan going
on errands by themselves yes yeah I like that that's me don't forget the juice I
got it stop forgot it they usually remember on the on their way back though
and they go back yeah man him so how are your parents you know how are they good
man they like keep like
very good on the stress man i think like they're not like freaking out they're like there for me
obviously you watch you me while i was in the hospital all that stuff you know uh it's crazy
how they didn't crazy they weren't emotional i mean i'm sure they were i'm sure they're like
affected but yeah it's just not
that kind of a family that's gonna like sit around cry and then they're gonna hey come here you know
let me hold you it's not really like that you know it's very like japanese my father like son
i'm here for you i can teach judo six days a week if you want i still got it i'm 84 i'm freaking
strong i don't know where you got these genes from. It's probably on your mother's side.
I'm so sorry about that.
He put his hand on my shoulder.
He's like, let me know if you need anything.
Yeah.
What a man.
What a man.
Yeah, he's like so like, you know, he's like rocks out.
But, you know, sometimes I need that too, right?
Because I don't want to be, you know.
And then my mom was like, I lost 14 pounds already.
Because I'm not allowed to do any heavy lifting.
Oh, gosh. I lost 14 pounds. Do I not'm not allowed to do any heavy lifting. Oh, gosh.
I lost 14 pounds.
Did I not look a lot leaner and smaller?
I didn't notice that.
I thought it was just 14 pounds.
I was like 225 and now I'm about 210.
So my mom was like, your arms are getting so small.
And I was like, mom, you got to be freaking kidding me here.
You can't say that to me.
Like, you know, I, you know, that's like, don't say that, you know?
Yeah.
And then, like, I was moisturizing.
And she's like, oh, your midsection looks so soft.
And I was like, oh, no.
I was like, woman, can you stop?
Like, Jesus, like, you know? Don you stop? Like, Jesus.
Don't worry about that, man.
Small things.
I know, but that's just the kind of, you know, my mom and dad.
Yeah, my daughter doesn't really understand yet.
I told her I had a headache.
And she's like, oh, Papa has a headache, and that's it.
So we're still playing as usual.
We don't want to alarm or freak her out.
So we're just kind of business as usual yeah i went to the dojo last wednesday which is really nice to just go in there it was
actually a couple days after i got out of the hospital you just you just uh said hi no i went
in and taught the class bro oh you taught we had these two visitors that wanted to work out me and
i was like man i just had a stroke and then this
is this they both looked at me and they started laughing right i was like no no i swear to god
i can't work out with you you told them yeah and they're like i'm like no man i'm unbluffing it's
like i really had a stroke i got out of the hospital like three days ago man i can't work
out with you i swear to god i can't not i'm physically i mean it's it's uh it's crazy i
don't look like i have a yeah i have a stroke you know but like the headaches are real you know it's
like all those things are real confusion you know but today actually is a very good day i've been
very very like fortunate i'm keeping like a little recovery journal like a stroke recovery journal
day one this day two that day three that you know you see the progress yeah yeah see the progress yeah because then it's so easy to like
get lost in it and like not see it get lost in like the you know the negative emotions i look
back to it you know what i mean that's a very good thing to do yeah yeah i count my blessings i have
my little affirmations list you know why i'm better off not being in this relationship
kind of a thing also separate note of all these little things that i'm doing i have my appointments
follow-ups hematologist neurologist cardiologist i'm on a heart monitor to measure my heart and
stuff like this because they think that's what made me have caused it i'm doing everything i
thought possibly can to do everything you know to get to get, come back. You know, you guys need to watch some YouTube technique. I still have a lot of stuff to share.
I know.
I,
well,
but first thing first,
you gotta take care of your health.
You gotta take care of yourself.
And we weren't even sure if,
I wasn't even sure if you could record today and I just hit you up and,
uh,
you sound good.
You sound good,
man.
I sound all right.
Yeah.
It was a good day, you know, keeping it together. You sound good, man. I sound all right. Yeah, it was a good day.
You know, keeping it together, that's the main thing.
You know, in times like this.
We're kind of doing this, almost doing this live, guys.
I'm going to, as soon as we get off, I'm going to quickly edit it and then, you know, throw it up online.
I mean, it's going to cause some shit storm, I guess.
I guess so. I guess so i guess so maybe
i'll make a video on instagram be like hey guys whatever whatever blah blah blah go check out the
podcast if you want the details oh i should do that right yeah like maybe drive some you know
numbers to this podcast we gotta good i haven't told anybody i really haven't told anybody i know a few people close
people i didn't think you would ever adjust this in on the podcast so i was fully planning to
you know record episodes without you for a bit and then just say you're busy and then like
kind of move on but yeah i was surprised by that decision yeah you know what it is i people are hitting me up
randomly on instagram like hey i noticed you haven't put up any videos in a while you're okay
yeah that kind of stuff and i was like wow that's very uh because i've been so consistent with my
youtube for two years almost right that's very nice of everyone yeah something like oh man like
people are wondering where i am you know and words kind of getting out right because i told
you know certain people and some people you know i didn't kind of getting out right because i told you know certain
people and some people you know i didn't tell anyone not to tell anyone i did in the beginning
yeah when i called eugene i was like all right yeah obviously he's my cousin so i'm usually i
can't i have a stroke you know this my mom told her his mom anyway yeah right off the bat i mean
he's family yeah yeah yeah he's a family member but then he didn't tell anyone and i told a couple
more people they told more people.
I was at the dojo Wednesday,
and I told these two visitors,
and then everyone else in the dojo was like,
wait, you had a stroke last week?
And I'm like, yeah.
Oh, gosh.
So the word's getting out, you know,
and might as well everyone know.
You know, that way I get so many emails now
that the pandemic is done with that like,
hey, I'm coming to work out with you.
You know, I'm coming to work out.
Can you work out with me? Can I, i you know like some french black belt was like i would love to film me working
out with you and it's kind of felt like i want to work out and challenge me or something like
i really can't like i have a heart monitor now and again i'm blood thinners yeah i did contemplate
last wednesday oh gosh please i was like could I potentially take these two guys and then throw them
really, really fast
before I got my heart rate
above like 150, right?
And before there was
any risk of me
getting the ding
to the head,
like, could I
potentially do this?
But I was like,
I can't risk that.
You can't risk that.
You gotta,
you gotta think of Yumi.
You gotta think of Yumi.
Yeah.
Yeah, you guys
might all think
I'm actually faking
because I sound so good. But I'm thanks to modern medicine guy that that that drug did
wonders huh it's full so i guess one thing is like if you feel like you're like you can't speak
or your whole side of one side of the body is going numb or something yeah go to doctors in
four hours yeah it didn't dissolve my clopper that's the unsettling part it's still lodged in or the body is going numb or something. Yeah. 4 hours. 4 hours. Yeah.
It didn't dissolve my clot,
but that's the unsettling part.
It's still lodged in there.
You know what I mean?
Oh, it's still there?
It's still there.
That's the unsettling thing.
So it kind of like broke off, I guess,
and then made some room for a blood flow.
Maybe, yeah.
That's what they're saying,
but it's like still lodged in there. So it's like,
I'm going to do another follow-up MRI CT scan.
So what are they going to do? Wow, nothing wow nothing to do you know this is the thing like now i'm on
the anticoagulants they're not gonna go through the vein and go try to break it up
let it be you know they're not telling me like yeah and i was like hey is it gonna dissolve on
its own they're like we don't know yeah can't really say so i'm like yeah that kind of not fun to think
about yeah the thing is large in there i i mean c'est la vie i guess you gotta yeah yeah yeah
well i'm glad i'm glad you're okay you know i'm it's i'm just thank you the first when you told
me i was just thinking like oh my god what if
he had gone on that airplane and i was just happy that you caught it when you caught it
and you're healthy you're on your way back so guys if you want to challenge shintaro just uh
you get you get one more year to train a little bit yeah you have to wait a little bit yeah
yeah then come come at me after that it was kind of getting fun people
always coming by yeah obviously that adds a stress too right because they could potentially hurt my
students yeah yeah you know a lot of people don't have that kind of clean judo yeah you can you you
guys can you get you guys can challenge george the greek god george man i don't want george getting hurt
he's jacked enough to handle him handle it um so yeah i'm i'm working my way back i'm doing all
the therapy this and that physical therapy speech occupational stuff and doing all my follow-ups and
uh you know send you know messages i might not respond because I'm not like it's hard for me to you know do all of it and respond to everything but I
greatly appreciate it yeah I mean it helps you guys you guys are the reason
why he decided to really publicly speak about this you know yeah great excuse for
my discord channel where I'm never really on it. You're back, though.
You're talking.
Yeah, come on by, man.
You got to come by and say hi.
And these people will definitely ask about you on there.
Hey, Peter, thank you for, you know, being my friend.
Of course, always, man.
And hitting me up and making sure I'm all right.
That was really nice to have that.
You know what I mean?
So thank you.
Well, you are always there for me. So this is at least I could do for you, you know
And I'm just sad that I couldn't I couldn't go visit you in the hospital
Yeah
Well anyway
Sounds good, man. Well
He's looking everyone. thanks for your support.
Shintaro's doing well, considering.
And he'll be back to his regular programming soon.
Oh, yeah.
No, podcast, it's easy.
I can sit around here and talk about judo all day.
It's actually a very nice distraction probably to just sit here and talk judo
and talk whatever shop, right?
But actually doing judo
and showing technique,
I could probably show technique.
Oh, yeah.
Maybe just newaza.
Keep it light.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So thank you very much, guys,
for listening.
God bless everyone.
And seriously, if you guys get a stroke
or if you don't feel good
don't try to tough it out
yeah
go to the hospital
right away
you got four hours
to get this life-saving
medication called TPA
antiplas or something
like this
yeah
don't be a tough guy
seriously
you know
heart attacks
strokes
everybody gets these things
you know
a lot of people
these are one in six people
will experience a stroke
in their lifetime
did you know this
oh wow I didn't know they was that high that's crazy yeah gets these things. One in six people will experience a stroke in their lifetime. Did you know this?
Wow, I didn't know it was that high.
That's crazy.
It ain't worth it, guys.
Don't be a tough guy
on this one.
Don't be a tough guy.
Seriously.
All the judo in the world
is not going to help you.
All the jiu-jitsu in the world
is not going to help you.
I'm serious.
You know what I mean?
You can't
barren bolo
your
clot out of your
veins, I guess.
No.
Yeah.
So.
All right.
Yeah.
Well, thanks.
If you've been through it, if you have issues with it, too.
I'm not an expert, obviously, but if you need emotional support, I guess, if you're going
through a stroke or something like that, you know, like that's something that I could kind
of not provide because, you know.
Just support.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If you want to reach out to me because you had someone, you know, someone that had a stroke,
this and that,
you can reach out to me.
That's a good reason to reach out to me.
Yeah.
I mean,
but stop sending me judo videos.
You know,
you can do that too.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you.
All right.
That's cool.
All right.
Thanks guys.
Uh,
thanks for listening and stay tuned for the next episode.
