Starting point is 00:00:00 We interrupt this program. Previously, critics had brailed against the duo as crude, dumb, ugly, thoughtless, sexist, self-destructive, and foolish. They are not part of the legitimate business world. What they do is they celebrate underachievement. And all candor, I would tell you it's outrageous, Phil. And if I could find some way constitutionally to do away with it, I would. Four teams should invite me to see their team. play because I'm clearly the good luck charm.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Right? I went and saw the New York Knicks last year. They're going to the championship. Yep. Saw the Tampa Bay raise this year. Going to the World Series. So. I'm pumped.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I'm excited. This is going to be a hell of the World Series, man. Ray Brewers, you like that? Why is that? I mean, throughout the year, these were, I mean, yeah, they're in the Dodgers and a couple, you know, whatever, but these were the two teams. Yeah? So this is, this is going to be a battle.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Neither of them have won a World Series? We are guaranteed a first-time winner, leaving poor, I hate to throw a con under the bus because his poor mariners, leaving him and a handful of other teams, but still, including Pauly's Padres. So that's exciting. Yeah, this is going to be good. Two good teams. It'll be good pitching matchups. I like the Devil Ray's throwback outfits. Game one is Friday night in Milwaukee, baby.
Starting point is 00:02:01 That place is going to be frigging rocking. They'll get two out there, and then they'll head back to. Tampa. That'll be fun. It's World Series season, baby. And it's almost like Tampa got like a little like, oh, it's just sorry from the luck gods. Sorry about your stadium. Oh, why? What happened in the day? They were the Hurricane Stadium.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Oh, that's right. Oh, that's our bad. Here you all though. Textline says, go to a Jets game for Christ's sake. Give me tickets. I'll go. I'll go. That's good. That was good. Put me in the dome. But you clearly need me.
Starting point is 00:02:34 I'm the sports. Good luck, charm. That was pretty good. Where do you need me? Yeah, I'll bring you to the dome. Put me in the dome. Yeah, put me up at the dome. You want to win games.
Starting point is 00:02:43 You got to have me there. Yep. You want them to go all the way. Who did I see the Tampa Bay? Did I see them play the Mariners? Yeah, because we saw Toronto Yankees. You did. Yep.
Starting point is 00:02:53 So I saw Tampa Bay play the Mariners. All right. And you were close. All four of those teams had a chance to make the playoffs. That would have been neat. That's what I do. I get up and I crowned champions. Every day I wake up.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Champion maker. And put on a goal. diaper and crowned champions. It's what I do here. You're like you and Danhausen. You on curse? Yes. I got a lot of power. I got a lot of power. Ahoy, hoy, everybody. Happy Tuesday, October 20th. 1020, guys. You know, wait, wait, 20, dude. Wait, what? 2006, year of our lord. What do we got going on today? Pretty chill show. Got a high strangeness. I know. I'm getting contact ties. You got some danky. You got some danky nugs over there, bud.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Somebody's lucky today. They're getting a big old baggie of good stuff. Do you know what brand that is? Who that is? It's a couple different strains. He doesn't care. So I just threw a little mixture of a couple different nugs in there.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Speaking of skunks, I think my camera's picked up a skunk last night. Does that mean it's like around my house? Do I got to be extra careful? Yes, but no. Like Fred's not going to get sprayed. I mean, I'm not going to say knock on wood, not got wood. I mean.
Starting point is 00:04:02 But is a skunk like an animal that's like this is my territory now? and it's going to be here? I'm not 100% up to my skunk knowledge. You know, skunk scientists? But like, they seem to hang a little bit if there's a reason for him to hang. You know what I mean? Like if your neighbor's got garbage, there might just be doing laps. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I won't it moves on. You might be safe. You're not a, you or anybody around you isn't really, like your in-laws aren't garbage people or anything. I saw a big deer walk through my yard two nights ago, and then last night I saw a skunk go through my yard. Hunters are about, I think they already are doing. Both seasons, but y'all about to get some deer.
Starting point is 00:04:39 I've seen some horses this year. It's been nuts, man. So you bigans out there? I took Elsa for a drive yesterday, and there was this field that they are always in. And they were there yesterday in just the size of these three bucks. Yeah. Because it's a group of like, it's a group of like 15 of them. But man, it's like, what?
Starting point is 00:05:04 But they hang up by you because they know they're safe up by you. They can't run up they can't make a hunt up there. No, I mean, this is going towards like a Tisco and stuff. So they're not safe up there. You're on like farmers lands and stuff now. I bet a farmer is just watching going, go ahead. All right, they'll be good eating this year. Hang out out there.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And that's good because these beef prices have gotten crazy. So go out, harvest some deer. You'll be good. Yeah, if you put, can you have deer burgers and stuff? And like all that? So there you go. And then what did, uh, is it the same for venison as
Starting point is 00:05:38 what was it lamb or something I forget but was it somebody was it Bear Creek that he talked about using onions to suck the gaminess out of oh there's that trick yeah because I want to try that I forget the trick when he said there there is a trick to take the gaminess out of certain meats and you just huck the whatever
Starting point is 00:05:57 so there you go you got some you like get your meats in the in the freezer candlebox good morning happy Tuesday Yes, sir, Cody. At the end of the song, he says a Swale. Yes, he does. We're not going to point that out.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Some of the other kids didn't know that. Thank you, Cody. You're welcome. Why don't you go back to your book, pod? I can't. Oh, hi, ho, ho, happy Tuesday. Yeah, next year's diner tour, just all Route 31. We're just going straight down Route 31.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Apparently. I feel like there was a glitch in the Matrix yesterday when they announced two diners opening and Clay at the exact same day. Yeah, it messed people. I think. I don't think that... I don't think they must have known... Maybe they know each other or not.
Starting point is 00:06:42 I don't know. I don't know if diners work friendly together, but... Yeah, I don't know if they would want to do it at the same day, almost same time, really. I mean, they kind of got lost in each other's announcements because rise and shine's coming to the old outback. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:55 And then second chance is coming to the old smoky bones. Yep. We've never had... I mean, I grew up over there. We've never had a diner in clay. You had to go to the Beaville diner if you wanted a diner. Yeah, no. I was trying to think of, like, what was like,
Starting point is 00:07:07 the closest diner and is it like that like that Kim Cicero diner in the little plaza that's over there you know what I mean? Right in Cicero and then you get further down before you can get anything out a couple more right? Yeah like what's out in Bridgeport? The diner is there. Traveling home used to be out there now to the
Starting point is 00:07:25 Mexican spot. You got to go a little further towards like Lakeport. I'm sure I'm missing one. And then you had into Beaville and they got a Beaville diner right there. Yeah. So we'll do second chance, rise and shine, Beaville diner. Yeah. And then there's, oh, there's an I-Hop right there in 31, too.
Starting point is 00:07:41 So, I'm not leaving the clay area. Yo, I like eye. Some friendly competition. You know how much I love a good diner meal bun? Yeah. No, they're both fun, too. They both do fun dishes. They were saying that that second chance at the old smoky bones is going to be huge,
Starting point is 00:08:01 like the biggest diner ever. That's when I saw that. I was like, in my head, I was like trying to cut it up. up, is it all theirs? And that is a big building. They're going to be able to hold a lot of people. We got a lot of diners. Are other areas like this?
Starting point is 00:08:16 Like, think of the amount of diners. Hence the reason we invented the diner tour. There's so many places to get a breakfast in central New York. I just wonder if other places are like this. Because there really is a vast amount. And I don't mean tons. Denny's, you know, over here. and a Denny's over there.
Starting point is 00:08:37 No. No, there's the daily diner. But then across from that, there's Julie's diner. And then there's all these ones opening up on 31. Yeah. There's finally hours by me. Yeah. The R diner up Route 11.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Man. There's just so many. There's just so many. And she can't find a good greasy spoon diner down there. Really? I think it's very much a New York State thing. Diner. I love diners.
Starting point is 00:09:00 I would eat every meal in my life at diners. Well, because it's endless options, really. Endless options. I've always loved the vibe. of one. Sometimes you want a cheeseburger. Sometimes you want pancakes, sometimes whatever, man. And I love an omelet.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Dude, I love an omelet. I love whatever. I guess it would have been an omelet. Fratada has the hash things in it, right? Yeah, everything. Just eggs his omelet. Yeah. Let's get out of here and get some food.
Starting point is 00:09:25 What are you doing? Right? There's just, there's so many more that just keep popping up my head. Why are we sitting here doing a show? We should get a diner right now. Five more. Did you do the show from a diner? You know what?
Starting point is 00:09:36 We should do a show. fall down before. When are you guys doing that? Is that a thing that happens? Is that something? Is that something that we could sell? And when do we do this? Yeah, text line. Pancake House and Sylvan. Love it. Flo's Diner on 31 near Verona.
Starting point is 00:09:53 All right all these down. No, no. I was going to do it somewhere right now, Charlie Miller's going, you guys slow down. I can't get all these. Oh my God. Anyways, man. I had, I ate at Mimi's a couple weeks ago and Fulton. I haven't eaten memies in years. Yep.
Starting point is 00:10:07 Yep. Man. Next to an older man who had his phone on full volume the entire time. Yeah, those are always some of the best. I got it wasn't a waiting room at least. It'll be me eventually. It'll be me eventually. I'll be the old guy sitting there with my phone on full volume.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Josh. Hey, Josh, could you turn down a little bit? No, she would have kicked me out long ago. I'll be just the lonely guy sitting there at the diner. No, that wasn't your wife Sam. It was just a random person that knows you because you're there every day. It's just a guy watching. They're not watching.
Starting point is 00:10:37 TikToks. I don't think they know what that is, but it's... They're watching videos somewhere. Yeah, it's like... Maybe Facebook videos. That's what I think it is. I think they clicked on a Facebook video and it just kept playing whatever gun video they had started watching. And it just kept going. Gun video.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Oh, you were there too then, I guess. I know that like, degenerate underground gambling still happens. Yeah. But it doesn't feel as classy as a. is when we're discussing our grandparents in chat. Well, no, because now it's, it almost, because it's legal. It feels dirtier now, right? Well, because it's legal, it almost makes the illegal stuff not seem illegal.
Starting point is 00:11:20 It's almost like, oh. That's just, oh, they're doing what? Because back when our grandparents would do it, it was, you had to be hush, hush, because it was illegal. So how do we get on this topic? Well, during a shine down there, we were talking, we started talking about, diners. And a showbrough in our chat said, Mimi's diner reminds him of the old Woolworths.
Starting point is 00:11:42 If you don't remember, in Fulton on Broadway, we had a Woolworths. I don't, I mean, I don't. I mean, I don't. And I had like a lunch counter or breakfast lunch counter. And I was very little when it existed. Was that like 80s? Like a Sears? Is that like a war of wars? Like, imagine walking in, I can't even describe it, unless you had to see it. Like you'd walk in and there'd be like a pharmacy and like random stuff and then a lunch counter. It was almost like if Johnny Rockets was a part of Kinney's. Kind of yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:06 But smaller. Yeah, but then they even have, like, kids clothes and stuff. Like it was the Woolworth. You go to the Woolworth. I can picture, like, the ad from like the 50s in some type of newspaper. Like a soda jerk. Like whatever you're thinking of with like a soda counter, that was the Woolworth. And I remember we'd go there all the time.
Starting point is 00:12:23 And I just thought we were going to the Woolworths until my mother informed me that we were going because my nanny was playing the numbers. Got to play the numbers. What are you nuts? You're not familiar with the numbers. I'm not really familiar either. No. But it's the Italian lottery. It's like they called it the Mafia Lottery
Starting point is 00:12:38 Italian Lottery. Yeah. And she would place her bets with a guy at the Woolworths. And then I guess like the newspaper prints like I don't know, something from the stock exchange. Something that has random numbers that comes up. Yes, that's all it is. That degenerate Italians turned into
Starting point is 00:12:54 That's the gaminate Italians turned into this gambling. They play the numbers and I was like as an ignorant kid, I'm like, yeah, we would just go to Woolworths all the time and my mother was like because your grandmother was playing the numbers. Yep. And then
Starting point is 00:13:10 showgirl Katie said her grandfather used to play pill pool and I came and find what that is. Probably something similar with some type of numbers. Who knows? It's just funny that not anybody's grandparents but just in general, the same
Starting point is 00:13:28 people that now are like are you damn kids with your insert whatever here were the ones making everybody stop off at the Woolworths and such to do their illegal gambling. And I like it. I don't know. I like it. It feels like a better time to me. It sounded fun. Like if I could just pop into
Starting point is 00:13:46 a Woolworths right now and put out a cigarette, play the numbers. Right. Say hi to somebody and move on in my day. It's like how you had to sports gamble. It's true. Before it was all legal. You had to have a guy. Had to have a guy. Did you ever play with just a guy or no? No, the only thing ever did was go to the OTB. and there were definitely people on the phones
Starting point is 00:14:07 that were doing that. Placing bets. Yes. With their... I'm not on horses, just like other... They were there, but you can hear me and like, all right, so on then Sunday, put a Giants game,
Starting point is 00:14:21 and they were just right there on their... Because they had phones, you know, like a bank of phones. It's just... I don't know why about... What, the OTB? In Bridgeport when it was open. Oh, I guarantee you cousin Jay and I would go there with his dad. Man.
Starting point is 00:14:34 That bridge... We had the third. Phoenix OTB. When gambling was illegal other than that. You could just play horses. Yeah. So it was something. So you'd go with Frank to the OTP?
Starting point is 00:14:42 He was one that took me the first time. That way I knew of it. That's how I knew where to go to bet on the Kentucky Derby every year. Yeah, I don't know why the OTP didn't. It didn't feel like gambling. It just felt weird. A ton of TV screens. I kept waiting to be like, and then where do we go for bowling in this place?
Starting point is 00:15:02 Because it looked like, all right, here's the lobby of a bowling alley. Is it around the corner? Do we get our shoes after we do whatever this is? Yeah. There's a guy crying over there. Do we do anything with him? No. Leave that guy.
Starting point is 00:15:17 I don't know. There's a lot of papers. You could smoke inside back then. So it was very smoky. It was a haze. A haze of smoke. Like, I just, I get, I get that people gambled. I just don't, I don't, I guess I'm realizing the older I get.
Starting point is 00:15:35 that I was way more involved in gambling as a child than most children. Yeah, we... And clearly you were too. We were brought everywhere that our family members that had us went. You know what I mean? It was just, I don't even think it was like, oh, we're going to bring them to... It was just no, they got to come with us. We couldn't play the numbers.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Didn't even think about it. Yeah, dude, it's crazy. When I have these moments, when I remember my nanny play, playing the numbers at the Woolworth. Yeah. And then we'd go to a bingo night that night. And then we'd go somewhere else and play pull tabs. And then it was just like,
Starting point is 00:16:13 that wasn't normal for all kids. No. But it sounds fun. I still enjoyed it. Yeah. I was out and about in the world. I think I did some of my most, my best people watching at all these gambling events.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Right. Yep. And I think I finally saw those pull tabs at a, like, what do you call it? Firehouse. Like a dive bar gas station? Oh, dude, pull tabs. I think I finally saw them. Yep.
Starting point is 00:16:38 I never even heard of them, really. A double JMO, a Chris Pilsner, and just a stack of pull tabs would do things for my brain right now. Oh, my God. Can I get pull tabs at the Dispo? Is that going to be enough? That, I mean, you could in a way that wouldn't make it gambling, really, you know what I mean? If you wanted to have like. It's like discounts and stuff?
Starting point is 00:17:02 Yeah, like, oh, you won 10% off. Katie says, I remember when sister got congratulated on her first legal beer at the bar we grew up going to. Yeah, and like, I don't know if Cousin Jay's in here yet, but Cousin J's parents would take us to all the casinos. We would go to Vernon Downs and go to the hotel room and play Nintendo. We'd go to back in the day, Turning Stone, had the arcade. We'd go to the arcade. And they were gambling. My life was so much gambling.
Starting point is 00:17:30 Right. Right. Got, simpler times. And now. Just simpler times. Just a app on our phone. Like, we're talking all that. All of that they needed to do just to simply.
Starting point is 00:17:43 I know, and I hate it. To gamble, whereas... You can do all that on your phone. I would say it's going slow right now. But I am just logging in to Fanduel, and now I can legally gamble on... As easy as that. That's how crazy it is now.
Starting point is 00:17:59 That's why I say it all the time. I'm thankful my nanny did not live to this period. Right. Where there's just, here's this. She'd be destitute. She would not have a box to live in. Because I get it because there's something about it. Because like right now, anything going on live?
Starting point is 00:18:13 She loved gambling. It's her favorite thing. And when she couldn't go somewhere to gamble, you remember those little, like, handheld games? Yes. She had the poker one. Yep. Yeah, blackjack. Right next to her.
Starting point is 00:18:25 Yep. Yep. Yep. I feel like you know it. talking about. The ashtray was right here. She didn't smoke. My poppy did, but she had the recliner or her chair
Starting point is 00:18:38 with the remote controls and all of her gambling handhelds. You kids in your video games. Just to get the itch. My poker game. I just got to scratch that it. My poker game. My wife texted me. She's like maybe it's like how we all bring our kids to breweries now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Right. And then I felt a little dirtier. Brewery feel a little classier than me in the basement of a of a Catholic church playing bingo until 10 o'clock at night? I don't think you could smoke here. Jesus doesn't like cigarettes. Mm-hmm. Yeah, but do you think the Kia Tigers are going to keep this 7-0 lead over the LG Twins in South Korean baseball?
Starting point is 00:19:13 I feel pretty good about South Korean baseball, yeah. I mean, you think they're going to keep that lead? That's worth a little bit putting in there, yeah. All right. And right now you can't yell at other people's kids at breweries. In the 80s, if I was at a bingo hall, everybody was allowed to yell at us. Yeah. We were communal children.
Starting point is 00:19:29 We were free-range children. If you were doing something wrong, you were told. You were told by somebody you've never met before in your life. But you feared for your life. Yep, but he did, hey, knock it off. Okay, sorry. Yeah. Rest in peace, Connie Nanny.
Starting point is 00:19:45 You really had to let you. It takes a village. It takes a village. Twitch.tv slash the show or head to the show. com. If you ever miss a live stream or you ever miss a podcast or you want to see what we're up to, I had an idea. What do you think about this idea?
Starting point is 00:19:58 Love it. that I might post on the show.com, as we get into the Wheel of Tattoo season 8, a lot of people want to do it. And up until now, I wanted to give a lot of people their first spins. But I feel like we've done it so many times. There's just so many people out there
Starting point is 00:20:13 who will be willing to do it. So what if I did just like an enter, like an entry form, if you want to spin the Wheel of Tattoos, and I'll randomly pick people that way. Do you think that'd be the fairest way to do it? I like that because I don't, it sucks having to pick
Starting point is 00:20:27 because, again, everybody, wants to. Okay. And do we know how many exactly we can pick yet? Did you ask, does Kyle know how many of his guys? Same as every year. So Hambone's a quitter, so he's got six. So six, six, fifteen, six thirty, six forty five. So four an hour
Starting point is 00:20:46 times three, so that's twelve. I can do twelve. Okay. So I didn't know if he had another random guy that jumps on. I think I want to just do a random drawing this year because I've got so many people in my DMs who want to do it. It's hard. It's hard. Like I've spun up before, but this is my first time. And I just can't choose anymore because we've been doing it so long. Then if you have the little form thing, that way you can see all of the, I haven't ever had a tattoo.
Starting point is 00:21:11 I was going to get my first tattoo. Yeah, I can do all that. And then he got vaporized by an alien. So I don't, I couldn't. I want to be trapped on more of that story. I don't know. They gave me the men in black things. I don't remember it.
Starting point is 00:21:24 He's got more information for me. I'd love to know. I don't know it. So I think I'm going to do that. Just plan on that. You don't need to DM me about it as I, and then, of course, well, two spots are already taken because Katie and Chostasher are going to be doing sibling tattoos. So we're down to 10. It's been for each other.
Starting point is 00:21:39 They spin for each other. Yeah. Yep. So, all right, we'll get into that. Listen, don't tell Finland they can't do something. A Finnish team has claimed first place prize in the world olive picking championship, regardless of the fact that there are no. No olive trees in Finland. I was just going to ask.
Starting point is 00:22:03 No olive trees. How do olives grow on trees? Okay. Yeah. So how, did they venture somewhere? They must have gone to a training grounds. All right. Well, then we are the number one New York olive picking team.
Starting point is 00:22:16 You and I. Okay. Let me ask a dumb question. We did it. Can you grow olives in the U.S.? Is that a thing we can grow here? Is that Mediterranean? I don't, uh, depends on a climate.
Starting point is 00:22:28 I bet maybe like someone. where, like a California? Oh, California might have some. Can you grow olives in the U.S.? Yes. You can grow olive trees in the United States. Primarily in regions with Mediterranean-like climates. California produces about 95% of the country's olive oil.
Starting point is 00:22:48 That makes sense. All right. That makes sense. Okay. Probably Southern California and then New America. We're renamed it, baby. I was going to say a new emerging region is Texas. Oh.
Starting point is 00:22:59 So. We like olives in our martini New America The annual competition Held on an island I can't pronounce Uh-huh Featured teams of four from 10 different countries Racing to Harvest the Most Olives by Hand
Starting point is 00:23:15 In 45 minutes Okay Competitors wore traditional burlap aprons You know those things Like in front of them and then you put them in there Yeah To collect their harvest Finland topped the field
Starting point is 00:23:27 How many pounds Okay. A, I don't know how many olives are in a pound. How many pounds of olives do you think they picked in 45 minutes? The finished team. I want to be kind of funny. Three pounds of olives? Yeah. 122 pounds of olives.
Starting point is 00:23:51 Oh, wow. Ask Cody A.I how many olives are in a pound. I want to guess first. Okay. How many olives? Let me, let me, let me, let me, uh, my hand is an olive. My hands are full of olives. Is that a pound?
Starting point is 00:24:02 30. That a pound? 50 is my guess. Go to Cody A.I. How many olives are in a pound? I'm always low on those guests, the M&Ms. How many? There are roughly 83 to 172 olives in a pound.
Starting point is 00:24:17 That's a big swing. Jumbo. Jumbo is 83 to 90. Okay, got you. That's why I always lose those stupid holiday contest. Yeah, dude, same. How many peanut M&Ms are in this jar? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Same. man, let me just have some. We don't have a single olive tree in Finland, they said. So how? It's unreal. How did they send a team? Like, what a, and I don't want to belittle their, you know, competition, but what a stupid competition. If Raygun can enter breakdancing, then Finland can enter the olive picking championships.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Are they bushes or are they just like a big tree? Because that would suck. You imagine that? You're hungry. You're out in the woods. You're walking and you're like, oh, that tree got. food on it and it's got olives. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:25:05 Is there any more disappointing? Even in like a dire situation, you wouldn't eat some olives? I'll eat a couple black olives. But if I'm going to die, I guess I'll eat the green ones. Not throw up. You ever see those tree harvesters that like go around the trunk of the tree? And then there's shakes a tree and all the fruit comes off. And they catch it in that basket that they put underneath it.
Starting point is 00:25:22 That's awesome. It was like nuts and such. On Tuesdays. We get into one of my favorite things, and that's the unexplained cryptids, UFOs, ghosts. Now, if you weren't here for the end of yesterday's show, Cody has a quick ghost story to tell you. Yep.
Starting point is 00:25:49 As he was at Debbie's Doobie Dungeon again this weekend, I think that will lead us into this Thursday night's Coco Pop, which will also be at Debbie's haunted horror hellhouse. I should do a Halloween one there, see if I can get Scotty's ghost thing back and fire it up. Let's do it. Two-parter here, high house. I strangeness. Tell the people your ghost story from this weekend of Debs.
Starting point is 00:26:09 Okay. So, in the middle of the evening, it was, I don't know, like 2.30 in the morning, something like that. I had the box fan little thing in the window, and it was going, and I all of a sudden, for a little while, could hear tapping, where it was just a continuous. It was like a one, two, three, pop, pop, pop, pop. One, two, three, pop, pop, okay. And it was continuous, so much so that I was like, damn it, the fans, I don't want to turn it up higher. It's cold. It's going to be freezing in here.
Starting point is 00:26:37 Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I was like, all right, forget it. I'll turn it off. And you can imagine grumpy Cody going, fine, I'll turn it up. So I lay back down. Thinking the fan was making this noise and now you don't get that the fan. And I go, fine, then the fan's off. And the overhead fan was also off.
Starting point is 00:26:51 So now I was quiet as hell in there. And after, I don't know, like 20 seconds of laying back down again. This point, now it was louder because the fan was off. And I went, the hell? Is it on the? the glass? Yes, that tapping's on the glass. Not on the side of the house or anything.
Starting point is 00:27:10 It's glass. Because when we said this yesterday, people were like, do you have a mouse in the wall? No, this is on the walls. This is on the glass. Pain on the window, which is, again, on the second floor. Yeah. This is the second floor. The same room where you heard silence?
Starting point is 00:27:23 With the door knob thing. Ah, bud. So this time, Alsa was looking at it, but didn't do anything. Little dog Sinbad, who's on the floor in his bed under a different. window barks. He's a little more skittish. Yeah, doesn't like that. But it verifies that you're hearing something and so did the dog.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Yeah, he barks. It stops for a second. Ten seconds after that. At the window over Sinbad to where Elsa then barks, because she does it like that, which unfortunately shuts everything down. Nothing happened after that.
Starting point is 00:28:04 But just the fact that Sinbad had barked at the side window, 10 seconds later, the window over him where it hadn't happened yet. So, not a mouse or something in the wall. Now, this is on the window. Tree branch against the window. It's two different windows, and you said the tree is too far away. Yep, and there's no tree on the side. Now listen, next Friday show will be our annual ghost show.
Starting point is 00:28:29 We love to hear your ghost stories. If you can't call in live next Friday the day before Halloween, you can leave a voicemail. Same number as the K-Rock text line. 315-364-101. 3-15-36-4-109. Yeah, leave them. Leave your ghost stories right there. I want to hear them.
Starting point is 00:28:46 It'll get scared. But for today's high strangeness, Cody, I want to tell you the story of the Black Dog. Ooh. Hey, hey, mama said the way you move. Not that the Black Dog. Oh. But we got a lot of truck drivers in here.
Starting point is 00:29:14 I know Jimmy's a truck driver. Have you ever heard? the legend of the black dog or truck driver specifically? No, I don't think so. So, the legend has it. And I guess this would be with anybody who drives long distances.
Starting point is 00:29:30 If you are, and I think I've seen this now that I read this thing last night, if you've been driving too long and you're getting tired and it's a dangerous point in your driving, in your journey, a black dog
Starting point is 00:29:46 will appear itself in the middle of the road, causing you to kind of like, oh, God, like this. To bring you back. To bring you back. And you're supposed to immediately park. Because you're going to fall asleep or whatever. The black dog is warning you this. It's like the angel of death. Something, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:05 So now I think back, do you remember my Baltimore story of how I saw the things jumping in the road? Sort of, yes, kind of. Wife and I. Because it was on the backwards, or the back, not backwards. Yeah. There and back trip. Yeah. So wife and I, we weren't married yet because we were still at the apartment and Grenadier Village.
Starting point is 00:30:23 We wanted to go see Alonis Moriss set in Baltimore. And for some reason in my head, I was like, that's a turn of burn. I could do Baltimore and a turn and burn. I can do New York City to Turnipurn. That one is rough. That one I went way further than I showed up. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:39 So we drove down to Baltimore, checked out a bunch of Baltimore sites, went to the concert, and drove back that night. and as I'm driving back that like at the very end of the night like we're getting close to Syracuse I just start seeing things in the road like jumping out and I remember vividly being like I don't think that's good
Starting point is 00:31:02 like either I'm like either I'm so tired I'm hallucinating things I mean I guess that's the only answer there wasn't really demons jumping out in the road but maybe I was seeing the black dog I was going to say which is who knows what
Starting point is 00:31:15 that is, it could be, you know, the last warning before something bad happens. So, you know what I mean? Like, so the dog slips away and warns you and it's like, oh, damn, my dog. That's what it's supposed to do. So here's a guy on TikTok who is sharing one of these stories about the black dog, how it's supposed to warn you that you're driving dangerously, pull over, go to bed. What did I do? Why is there no audio?
Starting point is 00:31:41 Why does this always happen to me? Evoic it. What did I do? Was it when you were? Who would turn that off? Pressing buttons. I didn't do anything off back there, I promise. There was this trucker who was driving on Interstate 80 one night.
Starting point is 00:31:56 And he had been going for a 22-hour street. He starts, you know, getting really tired. So he turns on the air, he turns into radio. And as he's driving down the interstate, right in the middle of the road, along the yellow lines, is this black dog running right towards him. He slams on his brakes, and the dog goes right underneath him. And he thinks it's weird because he didn't feel anything when he hits this dog.
Starting point is 00:32:19 But he feels bad about this. So he thinks, you know, I should get out and check on this dog and at least put him to the side of the road. So he gets out of his truck and he's, you know, got a flashlight and he's looking around and it doesn't find a dog anywhere. So he gets back in his truck. And as he's driving, he radios to another driver. And he tells him, you know, what had just happened to him.
Starting point is 00:32:40 And that driver instantly says, get off the road right now and go to sleep. Do not drive anymore tonight. And so this driver's like, oh, okay, so he pulls off on the truck stop and, you know, he goes to sleep for a couple hours. When he gets up, he decides to go and use the bathroom inside the truck stop when he sees at least five or six police cars, you know, in front of this truck stop. And so he talks to one of the police officers and he goes, you know, is everything all right? And they go, no, it's just been a crazy night. We were responding to a terrible accident. Truck driver fell asleep, destroyed his rig.
Starting point is 00:33:12 And he goes, whereabouts? did this happen? And the police officer tells him, and that was in the exact same location that he had seen the black dog. So I'm getting different truck drivers texting us right now. Jimmy says he's heard this legend as well. The black dog is to warn you that you're in danger. Yeah. Is it a hallucination? Probably. But it's weird that a bunch are. But this is, sorry, this specific cryptid that appears to warn you, hey, pull over, you're in danger. Right.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Interesting. Keep an eye on for the black dog. I'm not a big fan of it. It could just kind of be up ahead and sitting there. So I slam on my brakes. Please don't make me think I hit a dog. And then I just drive off a bridge and... You'd prefer a dog to go, hey, Cody.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Yeah. You're a sleepy boy. I mean, if it's going to be a hallucination anyway. Anastasia, one of our truck drivers on the chat says, yes, essentially you get so fatigued, you start to hallucinate. As soon as you start seeing stuff like that, Do not drive any further. You need to pull over.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. Pull it over. Get your ass off the road. Eastbound and I load it up and drug it. Electricity is more than a source of energy. At its best, electricity is a rush, a thrill, a feeling. From hybrids to plug-in hybrids to the all-electric Lexus RZ.
Starting point is 00:34:38 This is our take on electric. One that puts what you need, what makes you feel confident, inspired, excited, above all else. After all, if it doesn't spark something in you, is it really electric? See Burtig Lexus and Cicerole. So a lot of you, this is K-Rock, are aware of this Patrick Swayze movie
Starting point is 00:34:59 that neither you or I have never seen. No, and I love Patrick Swayze. I know you do. May he rest in peace. I just did high strangeness. He's there for Druggard Alley. He is. He went there for Drugger Alley. They're together.
Starting point is 00:35:13 They're finally together. Mm-hmm. Um, I just did high strangeness about the, the cryptid. Yeah. Uh, the Black Dog that supposedly warns truck drivers.
Starting point is 00:35:24 Time to pull over. You're getting too tired. You're going to cause an accident. I shared that clip. You can go get that on demand later on today. And a bunch you were like, yeah, this is the Patrick Swayze movie. Black Dog.
Starting point is 00:35:34 You didn't see the, no, I did not see 1998's. Black Dog. Ninety-eight? Yeah. Oh, boy. You got to remember. Remember 98, I was...
Starting point is 00:35:44 Oh, boy. I was so busy. I was knee-deep in chicks. Kne-deep. I mean, I'm at every party. I'm at every gathering. You couldn't keep the lady's hands off. So here's the trailer for Black Dog.
Starting point is 00:35:56 It's the most 1998 trailer you're going to hear today. Jack's driving days were over. I lost my license permanently when I went to prison. Uh-oh. I bet you missed that life, don't you? Until the day he got an offer. I got a load I need brought up from Atlanta. It's off.
Starting point is 00:36:17 the books. He couldn't refuse. Even with what we both make, we are too far behind. I was offered a job today. Driving. Mevo! That's me. You got a name? Jack Cruz.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Jack Cruz. You'll have to forgive Earl's manners. He was hoping he'd get to. His name is Jack Cruz. Yeah. And he's a driver? What am I missing? Cruz?
Starting point is 00:36:48 Oh, like Cruz, it spelled different. That went right over my head. I mean. You got Meatloaf. You've got Randy Travis for some reason. Oh, he does Randy Travis. And that lady was in a bunch of stuff where she makes that face over and over the whole movie. Okay, yep.
Starting point is 00:37:05 Yeah, yes, can we get more musicians in movies? Meatloaf used to do movies. No, no. Remember Dwight Yolkham? He used to do movies. He was in everything. He was good. Here, jelly roll coming soon.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Yeah. Drive. But what was supposed... He's really vanished, hasn't he? He took a step back. Wow, you just saying that made me realize he... Every once in a while, Jelly Roll.
Starting point is 00:37:28 They erased him, didn't they? You guys get sick of hell of me. I take a step back. Don't worry, I'll come back sooner or later. The music business beat the hell out of us with Jelly Roll, and then I'm like, all right, let's pull him off the shelves. Back to Blackth, Arbonne. It's to be a straight run up north.
Starting point is 00:37:42 There's over $3 million of automatic weapons on that truck. What was that? Mazda is about to take a few unexpected turns. He's trying to hijack the load. Good old southern hospitality. They're trying, for those you're just listening. They're trying to hijack the load. He's got a truck full of $3 million in weapons.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Which is not that much now. Not a lot. I got that in my car now. And I'm already confused. Is Meatloaf, is Meatloaf the bad guy? No, Meatloaf hired him. He said, are you the guy? from New Jersey.
Starting point is 00:38:19 Yeah, but then in that scene, was he then trying to ram him off the road, too? I think he was trying to protect him by shooting the other guys? He's the follow-up car. So I got to watch Black Dog. I'm not happy. We're going to end the show here and put on Black Dog. So far, this has nothing to do with the Crippians. We are shutting this truck down.
Starting point is 00:38:38 You didn't tell me I'd be hauling illegal artillery. You get a real pretty daughter, Jack. I'll get your eyes. You touched him. I'll kill you. I do not have my guns by 7 p.m. I am going to kill her and the kid. Yo!
Starting point is 00:38:53 Oh, making that thing. I'm going to deliver that truck. He's going to get my way. What? What I miss? What did you see? He was like running alongside the truck. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:04 So those again, the listeners, Patrick Swayze was outside the truck. The truck was still driving. He was holding on to the side of it running full speed. We'll never be as cool as Patrick's. No, buckle up. Whoa. Hold on tight
Starting point is 00:39:20 and watch out for the other guy. That was the coolest thing ever. Patrick Swayze, Randy Travis, and Meatloaf, a film by the director of Passenger 57. Hold on. And meet-leaf. I need to replay that phrase again because I don't think anything encapsulates 1998 like that sentence right now.
Starting point is 00:39:48 Stand by. Stand by. Don't forget. Patrick Swayze, Randy Travis, and Meatlo. A film by the director of Passenger 57. All right. Black Dog. You can drive.
Starting point is 00:40:03 It's coming back to me. All right. So at no point does it reference any kind of crypted or dog of any kind. No. So what you guys saw, Don Lafontein, may he rest in peace, Buzz. I love that voice. So yes, there is a trucker. movie starring Patrick Swayze
Starting point is 00:40:26 called Black Dog, but it has no real reference. No. Patrick Swayze. Pretty sick, though. Randy Travis and Meatloaf. I look how they say it. And meatloafs are this. Son of a bitch. Guys, I can't explain what the 90s were like. Randy Travis is alive, right? Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:43 So two out of three. We passed, right? Didn't. Did Milof die? Meeloft did pass a while back. Only 98. I know. I know, man. Yeah, Patrick Swayze was a hard one. He was so good. The legend does get references in the movie.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Okay, Pat Lucas says. So they do reference. I'm not going to watch this. This seems like a good kind of a rainy day movie. No, you know what that is? The dog shows up when the danger comes. All right, they just didn't put it in the trailer. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:41:09 I was going to say, this is, well, Fox doesn't get both games for football on Sunday. So after the one o'clock game, they know that no one's going to watch. They're all switching over to CBS for this double. double header. Yeah. So they put on Black Dog on Fox Sunday at 4.
Starting point is 00:41:28 This is a CW movie if ever there was a CW movie. This is on the WB. The Saturday movie, Black Dog. Banana bread at work, man. It's that thing that I don't even know what it is, a meme, the bracelet or whatever that's got the banana bread at work thing. If you've seen that where it's all the letters of that, but you know exactly what it is.
Starting point is 00:41:50 But yep, we got banana bread at work. Joan brought us banana bread. Real quick. You guys are talking about Jalen Hertz. Yeah, he's out for the... For the rest of this year, because the medicine takes several months to, like, work. So this wasn't career ending?
Starting point is 00:42:04 Could be. I mean, I'm going to say no, hopefully, because, again, as a Cowboys fan, that is not how I want to see anybody leave the NFL. I just want him to be so bad that he gets shunned. I want him to be healthy and lose to the Cowboys. Yeah. No, he, uh...
Starting point is 00:42:22 Yeah, it's going to take it. I mean, I think he's probably would be all right being an athlete. Yeah. Blood clots. Those are terrifying, man. Add it to the long list of things I live in hypochondria about. I guess he had him in his legs and then he played with him, which is crazy. He pulled over to, was it London or the Paris game or whatever?
Starting point is 00:42:41 And then they found him in his lungs or something like that. I wish him well, man. That's terrifying. So he's on the meds now. What causes blood clots? I really don't know. Like he's a healthy athlete. Right?
Starting point is 00:42:51 When Frank had him, I was like, oh, because. Right. But I don't know how do people get blood clots. They're just genetic? They just happen? Yeah, I guess. It doesn't really. Because I would imagine that many people healthier than Jalen hurts.
Starting point is 00:43:12 That's what I'm saying. He's eating cheeseburgs and yeah. You blood clots form when platelets and proteins in your blood stick together to create Oh, I figured. Either response to a physical injury or abnormally inside a blood vessel. So he could have taken a hit and it triggered something? Maybe. Maybe. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:43:35 But I wish him well. That's why I naturally thin my blood with whiskey. It's medicine. I take care of myself. I keep it flowing. Keeps it going nice and smooth. You guys probably know how I feel about homeowners associations, HOAs. I feel like you buy property.
Starting point is 00:43:48 You can do what you want on your property. It's why I live out in the country. I don't want to be in a neighborhood. I like them only the littlest bit because I like that the idea. Like what? Of, well, just maintaining a neighborhood. You know what I mean? Like when you're in a nice neighborhood or something and you got the one guy that's like,
Starting point is 00:44:06 F my yard. Mm-hmm. But even then, it's like, it's your yard. Sure. Or the HOA who's like, you can't park your work truck in your driveway. Right. F you, I can't. Yeah, everything about them is terrible.
Starting point is 00:44:16 I just like the idea of, oh, that could have worked if you didn't turn it into what you really. If you want to be like, hey, man, you haven't mowed your lawn in a month, you just got to mow your lawn. That, if you agree to that, fine. Or that one house you drove me past up by you where they made them like, you gotta get rid of some of this. Oh, yeah, there's a lot of those up by me where it's like, hey, man, you can't have all of this garbage in your yard. You know, it happens. But also.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Everything else. Also, like. That's my yard. I'll poke garbage. Yeah. If it's not a safety concern for others, if it's your property, you could, should do what you want on your property. Nope. Otherwise, what's the point of owning property?
Starting point is 00:44:50 Regardless. There's no, want to live in a complex. This HOA has sent out letters requesting houses, not hand out full-sized candy bars on Halloween. Why? Because they don't want one house to be the best house ever? Do they think what? Okay, I'll read the letter to you.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Well, actually, here I read the whole letter. Dear residents, I have to log into a thing. I want to log into the thing. I hope this letter finds you well. Well, anytime a letter starts with that, I know it's not gonna. Oh, boy. No, it's not gonna. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:45:25 As we approach the Halloween season, the board has been discussing ways to create a consistent and positive experience for the children in our community who go trick-or-treating. This year, the association is encouraging all residents to hand out fun-sized candy bars only. We are asking that full-sized candy bars not be distributed. This request is intended to help keep the experience consistent throughout the neighborhood and to avoid situations where some homes may feel pressure to match larger offerings. We appreciate your cooperation and requests, blah, blah, blah. Signed the smartest, sneakiest kid in the history of ever.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Um, all right. So, no. Totally don't hand out full-size candy bars. So you're thinking some brilliant teen went reverse psychology. Uh-huh. But no, this's not. It's a Karen. So I don't understand if you comprehend what trick-or-treating is.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Yeah. Trick-or-treating isn't supposed to be consistent. No. There's supposed to be a variety of things. I'm never mad if you give me a box or something. raisins? No, it's just... I'm not mad if you gave me a toothbrush.
Starting point is 00:46:50 You're the toothbrush house. But just know that I'm going to remember. Yeah. I'm picturing the house right now growing up that gave you the box of raisins. And I'm picturing the house right now of the old lady that gave you a little bag of pennies. I think it's all she had. I mean, yeah, that's nice. We were always like super nice.
Starting point is 00:47:13 But like you remember those, I'm remembering right now the house I'm, on the corner in the Village of New Syracuse that gives out half or full bars. I don't know if they still do. I'll find out this home. There was
Starting point is 00:47:26 an NSF. It was a nice community. We always had a got obviously NSF is very nice, beautiful houses. But at the end of the road on the river, where all the big houses were.
Starting point is 00:47:37 Yep. And that's where you would hope they'd have the full-sized bars. They clearly have the means. Right. And I would say things like that out loud, you clearly have.
Starting point is 00:47:49 have the means for full-sized bars. Right? What do you do it? And then there was the year I've shared this story a million times. He went down to one of those big houses and porch light was on and their entry light was on. And we kept bringing the doorbell and sitting on the stairs was a giant bowl of full-sized bars. Right there. The closest have ever come to breaking into someone's house.
Starting point is 00:48:09 I would have just opened the door. I would open this door because no one's coming to the door. I would 100% open to the door. Absolutely. Because we would do that growing up. up. Like if you had your light on and it was like a porch situation but then there was like another
Starting point is 00:48:25 door, if you didn't all right like they're not answering. Open there going to the next one. We're going in. We're going in. I gotta go in. Stand it in your mudroom. Hi, trick-or-treat. As a, as it now I'm in the dad role. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Of trick-or-treating and I'm even beyond that now. Now I'm at the teenage, I have the oldest who is basically an adult at this point. And then I got the 15-year-old who I don't know what he's going to be up to, but I don't even need to go with him anymore. Yeah. But for that stretch of like 10 to 12 years of where I did,
Starting point is 00:49:00 Cody's right. If you don't answer your door, you're dead to them. Yeah. They're gone. I don't want to tell you. They're either moving on or they're saying something crass, whatever it is. There's no time to dilly-dally. I don't got time for this.
Starting point is 00:49:14 I don't got time to wait around. Hello? No. Let's go, go, let's go! All right. I, uh, obviously am seeing all of your comments on this. There's plenty of comments online. I just can't think of what.
Starting point is 00:49:30 Maybe you're right. Maybe this was a scheme worked up by the neighborhood kids. Just the sneakiest kid ever. Uh-huh. Sarah Smile, 10 pennies wrapped in foil. Right? You remember, but you remember those, those silly people. Like, you remember, I remember the house where the,
Starting point is 00:49:47 Canabines? The little old lady that you would definitely be able to get convinced her to give you a glass of water. Oh yeah, you wanted a drink, that's right. Or like the house you'd be like, could we have a drink? And they'd give you a can of Sprite or something. You remember those fun-known snatches. Sometimes houses would give out stickers. Yep.
Starting point is 00:50:04 That was always cool. A little bag with a little like a little spider ring, a little pencil, little stickers, and just a little candy. But if you are, and I'm trying to be sensitive here, because I've seen the prices of Halloween candy. Yeah. you are maybe struggling a little this year and don't want to participate, just porch light off. No shame. There's no shame in that. Yep. Don't feel like my neighbors are doing it. No, no, no, no, no. As a former baby, I'm telling
Starting point is 00:50:30 you, I ain't mad if your porch light is off. No. We have plenty of people in my neighborhood to go porch light off. I get, I don't know. As I'm saying it in my head, I'm like, yeah, but I'm trying to, I'm thinking back to even when I was the person handing out candy, when I would look around me and I'd see neighbors that had their lights off. And I'd be like, what are you doing? It upset you? What are you doing? Well, let's work through this.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Well, the people you know have, like, you don't need to have your light off. Maybe they went to another neighborhood. That's what we always do. Yeah. Maybe they didn't trick or treat in that neighborhood. No, the ones that I'm picturing, like, you, what are you doing in there? I get out of here. Some of you have some amazing memories.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Showgirl Fuzz would love. the BK coupons with the free fries. Right. Great, great trick-or-tree. That was a good one. One woman on our street, Kujo says, one woman on our street gave sticks of carefree gum with a dime tape to each one. Right? That's curious. That's all they had.
Starting point is 00:51:33 But you remembered it. Yep. Probably had a bunch of change. Uh-huh. Some packs of gum. Ken and Chat says, we had a house that always gave out five dimes and a single Tutsi roll. That's 50 cents, bud. Right?
Starting point is 00:51:47 In the 90s? Back then, you'd be able to go get your own candy bar back then. PJ says, our neighbor used to give us a single twizzler wrapped in tinfoil. Oh, boy. Hmm. Because they were trying to make it. They're trying to spread it out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:00 I get it. Yep. Times are tough. Ken says, we also had one house that would give everybody a can of diet ginger rail. Yeah, there was always that. Cans of soda were pretty clutch. And then I was towards the end of it. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:52:13 they had those little mini cans that some houses would give out. Oh, those are the new ones. They're like, you're just weighing down my bag with a mini can because it's a Pepsi with a ghost on it. Jojo says it was an older guy in Manoa that used to give out bags of peanuts. Yep. I remember so many people that would just give you whatever and you would just eat it. And your mom is right. Think about the amount of time it took to count the pennies that that lady was handing out.
Starting point is 00:52:42 Right? That's what I mean. you never, you're always so nice to the little old lady that would just give everybody a little bag of pennies because it was probably all she had. And it's sweet. Saved her pennies all year long. Re, uh, with the older lady up the street from us would always give us homemade popcorn balls. Homemade popcorn balls slapped. Textline says, we had an old lady that would give out apples.
Starting point is 00:53:01 That's fine. That's what she had. You know, it was clutch. What? And it was the move you did before you started trick-or-treating. Uh, Fremont Bakery. Right there in these, you tell you. No, they would give you a donut.
Starting point is 00:53:12 Oh. Tony would give you a donut. It was like, oh, okay, the best way to start trick-or-treating ever. Let me go grab my free donut real quick. All right, now it's trick-or-treat. That's a great neighborhood. Yeah, that was awesome. Tax sign, as a parent in town, I would take my daughter trick-or-treating,
Starting point is 00:53:27 the kids would get candy and some of the houses would give us alcoholic beverages. Yeah, Cody was one of those houses. I did that. Yeah? I was the guy for a couple years. You want something here? Or that second year I did it, I could hear people coming from down the street. You know, that was the house that had the booze.
Starting point is 00:53:43 That's funny. We had a house that gave out plastic gloves filled with popcorn and a spider or skull plastic ring. Right? Remember those? That's fun. Text line, lady, just save your pennies and go buy some bag of candy. Just give me a snickers. Yeah, give me some pull tabs.
Starting point is 00:54:01 Textline says, we had a house in Phoenix and handed out decent candy but also handed out beer for the parents. Love that. Yep. Anyways, keep the conversation going. Twitch.tv slash the show. I'll tell you the stop you want to make. on Halloween. You're out trick-or-treating. 1744 West Genesee Street.
Starting point is 00:54:17 I see over on Tim Pill. I see what you did there. Stop by that. Stop by that house. Do you follow this? You're probably not a TikTok. But this woman's hilarious. She's pineapple honeydew on TikTok and she makes just silly videos of what people sound like talking to chat GPT. Tabby BT is my refrigerator running.
Starting point is 00:54:35 Tabby BT is Shrek 2, the sequel or the first one? Tad BBT, how old is my mom? Tabby BT, do I know enough words to write an email? Chad B, B, B, B, T, what's your star sign? Chobibati, what's that name? What's that one movie? Chabby B, B, it's chicken vegan.
Starting point is 00:54:50 Chad DVD, can you write the email for me, please? I don't know enough words. Cracks me up. Chad DVD? Chat Bavis, can you do? Why do I have a glasses? That's great. So, uh, I play that because as I try to remind y'all that things you say into your phone
Starting point is 00:55:09 and information you share on the internet is just dad. that can be used. Yeah, they is as a fault ever. And because of that, they've analyzed the ChabBBT. The Chad GGB? The Chad Ghibit. C, P, B, B, B, T, C, Chbbb T. Why is the words? They've taken the data.
Starting point is 00:55:31 Okay. From Chad GPT to figure out who are the dumbest states. Oh, I mean. Yeah, you're right. Come on, you're right. So who's after. Bye, everybody. So who's after West Virginia?
Starting point is 00:55:44 everybody. West Virginia, somehow smarter than Kentucky and Tennessee. Oh, wow, okay. Your dumbest states are going to be... Go a little lower, though, if you want the dumbest. You're going to go right in the middle of that little group down there. Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, South Carolina. Oh, I'm sorry, I'll go to the school of hardnoughts.
Starting point is 00:56:09 I'm sorry I don't live in one of you liberal states. what I know I can't put in a book You can't teach The things we know here They have used the chat GPT data To analyze the smartest and dumbest states In the United States of America
Starting point is 00:56:29 Smartest state, can you guess? Think a lot of high, lot of smart colleges in the state I was a I was gonna say like a Vermont or Maine But California No, Massachusetts, you were right. Harvard and stuff out there.
Starting point is 00:56:43 I was trying to think of where all those were because I don't know, because I'm from New York, where we're always in the middle or everything. Yeah, we're not dumb by any means. We're not the smartest. The smartest states are California. I think Virginia, because you got a lot of people who work in D.C. and stuff. I was going to say, yeah, they get the numbers skewed, the top half. Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey.
Starting point is 00:57:05 Rhode Island. But we're just one notch below the state. Okay. So we're all right. We're not dumb. We're right there. We can enter the top. We're not Nevada.
Starting point is 00:57:13 Oh, my. Oh, my God. You're so dumb. Chad B.T was a casino. Chad GVG, where is the dumb people? Beyond the United States, researchers found that Chad GPT ranked places like the U.S. and Western Europe. Are we the dumbest, the whole country of all of them?
Starting point is 00:57:32 We're definitely, yeah. We're pretty dumb, but we have the best style, is what it said. Oh. We're stylish. Oh, cool. We got cool. ChezGBB a couple stupid, but we got nice pants. Yeah, we got.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Do you like my, do you like my Cago pants and the ChbBT? Do you, DVD, does my hat match my shirt? Yeah, we're not doing great as a country right now, but. Yeah, I can't do math, but. We got to hand some shirts and stuff. Yeah, I'm about my, I know, and I'm not wanting to talk, because they didn't even label the states. So there's a couple states, I can't even tell you if they're smarter dumb, because I don't know what they are. Which one, I guess I can't, I can't ask you that if you don't know.
Starting point is 00:58:07 What's the square one next to Idaho? Is that Colorado? Chab, BBT, what's the square one next to Idaho? Chip B, B, B, B, what's the square one next to Idaho? Chip B, B, B, B, those states they touch. Chip BBT, what's the one next under Montana? B B B B B B. That's not Colorado, though.
Starting point is 00:58:22 Colorado's actually pretty smart. Yeah. Is that Wyoming? Is one of the Dakotas? Nope, because the Dakotas are right next to that. Ask Cody A.I. What's the one? What's the state?
Starting point is 00:58:34 Ask Cody A.I. What's the state next to Idaho and under Montana? What's the state next to Idaho and under Montana? Wyoming. I think it's... Chad, B, B, B, B, B. I think it's Wyoming. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:47 I'm getting really good at geography. You've got this, but... Chip, B, B, D, who's the smartest morning radio show? In social studies tomorrow, when we fill out the maps, you're going to do excellent. And then I know that the Oklahoma looks like a pan. Okay. And then it's the man holding chicken, but I don't know what the states are holding chicken. You know the guy holding chicken?
Starting point is 00:59:09 Yes. Is that Kentucky then? Yeah. Yeah, but he's... Because it's the carnal. Yeah, but it's the guy and he's holding the chicken. I do know.
Starting point is 00:59:18 And those letters mean something? Hold on, I'm gonna ask. Chippee, B, too, who's the guy holding chicken? Did it hear me? Yeah. Colonel Sanders. That's true. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:59:33 Let me ask it again. They're not wrong. Hold out. All right. Tell me one. All right. All right. All right. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:59:38 Chip B.T. What are the states Or the man holds chicken? Please get it. It didn't. It doesn't get it. Oh, wait, sorry to say it again. All right, go, I'll do it again.
Starting point is 00:59:49 Chebbt, what are the states with the man holding chicken? Come on, come on, come on, please. Please. Give me something. I need to say. Wait, if you're, it's a bunch. Yeah, it's a group. It's Mimble.
Starting point is 01:00:04 You do that. Yeah, Mimble. Ready? Yeah. The hat is Minnesota. Yep. Iowa is the head in the face. Yep.
Starting point is 01:00:14 Missouri is his torso and his shirt. Yes it is. Arkansas is his little pants. Yes it are. And then Louisiana is his feet. Is his feet. And then he's holding out Kentucky fried chicken on Tennessee. Yes.
Starting point is 01:00:26 Tennessee is the pan. Sorry. Oh, yeah. Sorry. Sorry. Yes. And then the chicken is on the pan. Yes.
Starting point is 01:00:32 And Kentucky is the drumstick. Sorry, I missed that little part there. Yes. Chippee. How did I graduate college? Did you dig it? Well, yeah, I know you can't find it. It is not currently streaming anywhere.
Starting point is 01:00:43 PCU is you can't. That's why they're taking our media from us, man. You got to buy it and hold on to it. Yep. Can't count on these stupid streaming services who keep our movies and dump our movies. Told us that you don't need the physical copies anymore. We're going to have them, obviously.
Starting point is 01:00:58 So we negotiate different prices to get more money out of you. Actually, yeah, I don't think enough people are watching, so we're not getting our money back. Exactly. JoJo just posted this in chat. It is not a lot. available on major streaming platforms due to music licensing complexities, corporate studio consolidations, and lack of perceived commercial demand.
Starting point is 01:01:19 Yep, they can't. You're just going to force us to pirate everything. I hope you know that. What it sounds like is they can't figure out which rich white guy gets the residuals from it. That's what it sounds like. Corporate studio consolidations, which means, well, is it these, is it ours or is it someone just got to get the money? Speaking of music, did you see, is this a rumor or is this true that, that, you know,
Starting point is 01:01:40 Jay Z picked himself to be the halftime show this year? For the Super Bowl? Yeah. Really? You know that's been his gig the last decade, right? Oh, he's been the... He books the halftime show. And he booked himself? I think he booked himself. I don't know if that's true or not. That's hilarious.
Starting point is 01:01:57 And again, I thought that we didn't like him. Who Jay Z? Yeah, I thought... I don't know. I thought he was on the list, but I guess it doesn't matter if you're on the list anymore. Yes. It says right here. Jay Z reportedly picks himself for a Super Bowl halftime show. Right? Yep, he chooses himself. And I like Jay-Z.
Starting point is 01:02:12 That's the thing that's where I'm torn, man. I don't. You don't like. I know you don't like it. I'm not a Jay-Z guy. Like his reps weren't. I get, well, you know, everyone else liked him, but it really wasn't it for me. I feel like I liked almost everybody else but him.
Starting point is 01:02:25 No, I was a big Jay-Z fan. But I also can like, you know, just to be the voice of the other side. It's been a while since a rock band or even a country act has been the halftime show, right? I get it I love hip hop Do not get you know Do not you know Yell at me about this
Starting point is 01:02:44 But it just feels like We haven't had a rock show for a while No but Or even a big country act I'm okay with that Yeah I my answer to that That would be another question
Starting point is 01:02:57 For the rock stuff Who I don't know That's because I don't I don't know who I don't want to see a foo fighters Do a mish mash I mean, again,
Starting point is 01:03:10 Metallica would be the only one that could do it, and they don't want to do that. They don't want to do that. They don't want to do a mishmash. And they're going to use their voice to stand up for politics. Right. Regardless of the first three albums they were recorded. Because, yeah, I don't know how, I don't know who would want to.
Starting point is 01:03:28 Let's do an emo. Let's do an emo halftime show. I was going to say, I don't think it would get the, as much hate as you might think it would. But what about like a limp biscuit? I wouldn't hate that. I feel like people would lose their minds for a limp biscuit. I mean, like I'm always torn because I'm always like,
Starting point is 01:03:48 who is the halftime show for? Is it for the players on the field? No, I don't care about limb biscuit. No, they're in trouble when that one guy was at a kicker that went out and watched. He got in trouble. Everyone lost their mind. Right. That a kicker was watching Bad Bunny or whatever it was a couple years ago.
Starting point is 01:04:02 Because he wasn't focused on the game or whatever. Yeah. But I can also understand like, All right, well, then why was it the Rolling Stones or prints and stuff? Like, it's for the people at home. Yeah. So I don't, I don't, I don't know because when I say someone like Limp Biscuit, you can't follow up like a bad bunny with Limp Biscuit.
Starting point is 01:04:21 Well, and you look, look at the last few. Like, I should have a list in front of me. Bad Bunny, when he did the halftime show, at the time was an iconic artist who was selling out arenas. Yeah. Kendrick Lamar. At the time was selling out arenas. Oh, sure.
Starting point is 01:04:39 He was a little removed, I guess. He's close, but even then, I remember I remember I was talking about this and being like, really? He's not doing anything right now. Jay Z did a couple one-off shows that I watched footage of from, like, Yankee Stadium this past summer. I think it's because he's so big that it doesn't matter. He doesn't have to be doing anything. He doesn't have to. Same with Snoop and Dre when they were in Los Angeles.
Starting point is 01:04:57 That was sick. Rihanna was before, in the middle of them. She doesn't have to do that. Then the weekend was after Dre, Snoop, Eminem, I'm married to oblige Kendrick Lamar. All right. Then Shaq. Chakira and Jalo. Chakira and Jailo was just banging.
Starting point is 01:05:10 Who? Who, who you? 2019, it was Maroon 5. It was? With Travis Scott and Big Boy. In Atlanta? So then, I don't remember that.
Starting point is 01:05:18 All right, go back the last five. Has it all been hip hop? I mean, or Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny's not hip hop, I guess. Oh, sure. That's, yeah, I don't really know what. Kubano. I don't know what the genre of Bad Bunny is.
Starting point is 01:05:30 Yeah, Rihanna. Then all the rappers. Yeah, is Randy Newman available? Thank you, Beas. The other way to do. Be it. Do you play. You play, you play.
Starting point is 01:05:36 Football and you're out on the field. Other than Maroon 5, then it was Timberlake and Lady Gaga. So, I mean, there's already. Nobody that's... You can just kind of see when Jay-Z took it over because he picked a lot of artists that he probably is close with. Or he knows about. And as much as, again, I don't like him.
Starting point is 01:05:56 I get... He is huge. Cold play was 2016. I'm with Jimmy. Let's just put a marching band out there. Let's do away with all this Hollywood nonsense. That Katie, Harry.
Starting point is 01:06:07 She was a half-thag. I guess in 2015 she was a big deal. 2014, Bruno. 2013. Biazzi. 2012 was Nikki Minaj. LMA, LMFAO, Madonna. Like you guys are joking about Taylor Swift,
Starting point is 01:06:25 but I'm honestly shocked she hasn't done it. She's a big enough star, right? I would say she probably turned it down for some whatever reason. I could see her being like, no, that's, no. Like, it's beneath me. No, no, no. I can't just do a halftime show. That's not who I am.
Starting point is 01:06:40 I need to do a whole arena show. Well, talking of entertainment, we are a month out. We're a very big day, Cody. November 19th. You know what that day is? You know what November 19th is? I don't think it's close enough to our bagelicious thing.
Starting point is 01:06:56 I think that's another week. And then Wheel of Tattoos is before. And then Thanksgiving is after. So we're right in the middle. What's this sweet spot you're talking about? November 19th is the release of GTA 6. That's still not out. No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:07:09 I thought I was supposed to come out in... No. Oh, it's not... Oh, my God, it's not going to come out in then. No, it's not going to come out of November. No, it's not. Not November 19th. And experts are claiming...
Starting point is 01:07:18 Not on November 19th. It's not. And people are going to riot. No, it is. But experts are now claiming a projected loss of one billion dollars in productivity that day. Oh, I... Oh, yeah. Yeah, I can guarantee you that.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Look at the data they've done on March Madness days. People just like, don't go. to work and stuff. Yep. It's that same thing where I've seen numbers like that where businesses have lost, blah, blah, blah. If I want to use my PTO, I'll use my PTO. If I want to do my sick days, I'll use them.
Starting point is 01:07:48 We're allowed to. You're not a cog in your machine. I'm going to go home and play GTA 6. You're allowed to use your sick days and you're not allowed to be asked why. Well, what do you need them for? I'm not telling you. I'm sick. Hence the name sick day and not very specific ailment day.
Starting point is 01:08:03 None of your business day. Get out of here. My, my butthole is leaking butter. whole fluid. Happy now. All right. You want photos? It's like a faucet back there.
Starting point is 01:08:12 It says the game will hit shelves on Thursday the 19th. No, it's not. And while some people might wait until the weekend to dive into it, others are suspected to be taking days off. Yeah, this is old school hype when people would line up for Madden and Call of Duty and all that stuff outside of like, you know, GameStop and stuff at a midnight. Yeah. Is that going to be able to?
Starting point is 01:08:37 the same thing on Wednesday. See, I don't know because with video games now, like, Shobralladi who's in chat, he's already playing the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare, but I can't get it until the 23rd. So sometimes you can pre-order a game and they'll give you access to parts of it.
Starting point is 01:08:53 So I'm sure GTA is going to do something like that where they're like, here we'll give you a little bit of it. I'll get it just because I love open world games. Yeah. I love games where you can just mess around and drive around. You should definitely stream that. Me playing GTA 6? People love watching.
Starting point is 01:09:07 and that type stuff especially. Yeah, I'll do that. I'm always looking for more things to do. Lord knows I'm not busy, you know. No, I'll get it. I mean, you wait this long for it. Like, it almost feels like an obligation to get it at this point. I'm telling you guys.
Starting point is 01:09:20 I don't know what it is. I can feel it just being like, listen, you've waited this long. You can wait another two months. We've just, there's, do you want it perfect? Mm-hmm. Or do you want it as is? Mm-hmm. January 1st, we promise you.
Starting point is 01:09:35 Yeah. Because, listen, here's what you do. Yeah. If you tease something for the next and you don't give it to them, you just keep. Guys. What's this been? Like 10 years?
Starting point is 01:09:45 Yeah, dude. Yeah, you keep teasing it. And Jojo's, I mean, Jojo, we're never seeing Red Dead Red Dead Red Dead Red Dead Red 3. No. We're not in our lifetimes. No. Not in our lifetive.
Starting point is 01:09:53 No. We will never in our life. Our grandchildren will be able to enjoy Red Dead Red Dead Red Dead Redemption 3, but never. I'm sorry. It's your thing nightmare. Give me the CD. Uh-uh. Uh-uh.
Starting point is 01:10:08 Cody needs to go home. Give me the CD right now. Uh-uh. I don't think so. Who bought you this? Where'd it come from? Your dad's girlfriend bought you this? Listen, anything's just joking.
Starting point is 01:10:17 It's just... I'm joking. Good morning. This is a kid, Rock. Your dad's girlfriend bought Theresa buy this? Huh? Where did you get this? I told you to go to Walmart where Mrs. Clinton was nice enough to have all the songs go
Starting point is 01:10:32 when they're going to say a swear. It is proper to have a donkey noise in the... place of where there's going to be a swear. Bebo, bo, bo, bo, bo, bo, bo, bo. Yeah, hey, Dave. Yeah. Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 01:10:44 Your bitch girlfriend's buying our kid, uh, F-word CDs. Yeah. Uh-huh. I don't know what he's doing with you on the weekends. What do you mean to Gary in his boat? Anyways, happy banana splits to those of you who are also good friends. See you have banana splits later on today. Um, we never got those there, by the way.
Starting point is 01:11:07 You never got bananas splits. No, we never had ice cream. You had to do coloring? Would you do a banana split? I don't remember. It wasn't really, because I, as far as I remember, I think I dealt with it pretty well. I was like two when my parents got divorced. Same.
Starting point is 01:11:22 I mean, I was like, I don't think there was ever time where I was like, I'm acting out because I am a product of divorce. No, I think it was most time, I was just a little prick. I think you and I are both the same where we're like, yeah, that makes sense. Probably. Yeah, that divorce makes sense. All right. Good, guys. Move on with our lives then.
Starting point is 01:11:38 All right. Definitely get that. Me being a prick as a kid had nothing to do with a divorce. I just made my DNA. Yeah. I was just a little smart mouth. I mean, it's been 40 years. I can't still blame the divorce on my attitudes.
Starting point is 01:11:50 I'm sorry, I have to comment on what you're saying or else it's going to explode out of hilarity. So this would be a situation I would love to have been a part of just because I would have been in the middle of the road standing looking back and forth. Now what am I talking about? There's two gas stations in Georgia. Okay. Who were competing with each other over the lowest prices. Okay. And one would lower their price.
Starting point is 01:12:16 Then the other one would lower their price. Then the other one to lower their price until it got as low as 97 cents a gallon. Wow. Because again, they can set in the price whatever they want. They're going to lose a lot of money on that. Yeah, they're just going to lose over, you know, whatever, the national average and all that stuff. So that's crazy. How long did it last?
Starting point is 01:12:36 How long did it last? It resulted in a police response because people were like, oh, you get gas for 97 cents a gallon. Yeah. We were here this afternoon. It was 254. Then it went down again. Then it went down again.
Starting point is 01:12:48 When we pulled in, it was $1.44. Then it was $1.39. Wow. People just filling up bags. Who were here this afternoon was $254. Then it went down again. Then it went down again. When we pulled in, it was $1.44.
Starting point is 01:13:01 139. We want to be $0.5 cents higher than them. And they just don't want to. agree to that. They want to match. I call my mama, sister, my brother. Hell yeah. Everybody. Look at God, baby.
Starting point is 01:13:14 God is God, baby. That's hilarious. I like that. I mean, I'm sure it ain't going to stay like that. No, the low prices created a significant traffic congestion prompting police to block access to the pumps at both stations. You're welcome. I told you.
Starting point is 01:13:29 Get it. It's lower than ever. Did it. I did this. She saw one of the women, I think, in that. clip said she typically spends $90 to fill up her truck and it only cost her 15. Oh man. It only cost 15.
Starting point is 01:13:43 That's, I remember those days. We're putting in a quarter. We're just putting in a quarter, a literal quarter, 25 cents to go to school and back or something. And it was doable. No, thankfully I've been blessed that I haven't had to do that in a very long time. But I've had to do the $1. No, that.
Starting point is 01:14:01 Can I get a dollar? No, no, yeah, that. No. Can I get a dollar? I did have to do, I did that with, uh, It was a couple weeks ago, I forgot my, like I'd already changed my pants. And my wall, it was in my jeans. So when I left and I went to get, I was, I had to do something and I was at the gas station because of that reason.
Starting point is 01:14:20 And I was like, oh my God, I don't, I don't know if I'll make it back. So I had to do the scrounging for change. So I had to leave the store once I realized that I was like, oh, no, no, my wallet. I can't get these groceries. Yeah, pretty close to having to beg for money at that point. And then I was like, oh, my God. I just need a dollar to get some gas. I'm like, no, I'm not.
Starting point is 01:14:39 Because I was going to do the move. The gas station is right next to tops. Yeah? And my light had already stopped telling me how much gas I got left. The car was like, I can't go and he lowered dumb ass. I'm as dry as I'm going to get. I'm telling you for 25 miles, get gas. Every woman I've ever been with.
Starting point is 01:14:54 So I was like, I don't get some tops, gas station, back home. Got out of the car and went, oh, don't know if I'll make it back on gas. Oh, no. So I took the little quarters. I had like two bucks in change. And it worked. I'm not going to name the gas station on the text sign, but the pumps screwed up at blank station one time,
Starting point is 01:15:15 and I got 10 or 15 cars, including myself, paid 41 cents a gallon, and then some Karen ran in and told them. That's the universe given back. Right? Let's go. Let's go. The universe given back, baby.
Starting point is 01:15:30 Wait, hold on. What did this headline I just saw? Wait, hold on, wait. What? What? Billy Ray Cyrus is engaged to Elizabeth Hurley? Really? I didn't know that.
Starting point is 01:15:44 How did that happen? He's Billy Ray Cyrus. Some of it, you don't tell his achy, breaky heart. And she didn't. Elizabeth Hurley was like the hottest chick of the 90s in the Austin Powers movies, right? Yeah. I'm thinking of Elizabeth Hurley? Yep.
Starting point is 01:16:00 Oh my God, look at. Right? Look at Robert Zumber. I know he does look like Rob Zomber. What is he doing? But what? Is it a joke? Liz Hurley, what happened?
