Starting point is 00:00:00 We interrupt this program. Previously, critics had brailed against the duo as crude, dumb, ugly, thoughtless, sexist, self-destructive, and foolish. They are not part of the legitimate business world. What they do is they celebrate underachievement. And all candor, I would tell you it's outrageous, Phil. And if I could find some way constitutionally to do away with it, I would. Pressure, fires over the middle. It's deflected and picked off.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Anzolone. Can't hit him in the hand. Jake Ferguson could not hold on. Jerry looking to Jacket. My eyes aren't too far apart. It went right through his hands. I'm sorry, bud. Watch him climb the pocket, put it right there.
Starting point is 00:01:09 It was what I was saying. Sunday yesterday. How many times did I say it? Tyke Smith defending. With 50 seconds plus to go. How many times does I say they play down to the level of the competition? A thousand. Well, forget about that now.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Wow. As long as you leave the middle of the field open. We were joking yesterday. We're like, we know tomorrow morning. We're going to wake up and... Yeah. The Bucks get their first win of the season, and here they are.
Starting point is 00:01:34 What happened, man? People act like, ah, Cody, don't know about no sports. I never say that. I know, I know my sports. No, no, you do not. You do not. Well, I didn't watch, obviously, much of it. I watched the first quarter.
Starting point is 00:01:47 This is the worst defense I've ever seen. They got to fire, they're going to fire some, I'm going to swore, some BS coach for no reason, when it should be most of the defensive staff. The offense, like, there's only so much Dak can do. I mean, you don't kind of also throw that ball 500 miles an hour, Jake Ferguson, like that at the end. Bro, just throw two of him. You don't get a lazy. Did I see, like, Dak was walking into the locker room and, like, people were yelling at them or boat him or something?
Starting point is 00:02:15 Yeah, it was like a stadium worker, I guess, said something. because there's a little blurb about it. But they should. That was the most revolted I've seen, the Cowboys Stadium. They started to boo somewhere in the second or first quarter, and then it just got louder until the end of the game. That's what they get. Wow.
Starting point is 00:02:32 But it's everything I've said that every game for teams, 99% of them, it's their Super Bowl to play the Cowboys. That's not arrogance. That's true. That's how it's been for almost my entire life. You're in the big stadium. You're in Dallas. Alice, it's the most hated team.
Starting point is 00:02:49 That's just how it goes. Bucks lose next week, guarantee. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, they're one and four now. So good morning, everybody. The way the cookie crumbles. That's the time, the jam on the cracker. That's the hot hot sauce.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Chicken wings, where you get it. Exactly what I was saying. Good morning, everybody. Happy Friday. What a day. Oh, boy. Plan ahead. It looks like most of downtown's going to be,
Starting point is 00:03:18 shut down at like 10 a.m. So plan accordingly. Shut it down. Shut it down. Get it down. Charlie Brown. Like I've been saying, my fear is that someone's going to park their car, going to work at eight, come out, not be able to leave until like 9 p.m.
Starting point is 00:03:33 So. Still right take the day off. Go to the pumpkin patches. Oh, nice of the pumpkin pad. It would be a gorgeous day for it today. That's what I'm saying. Why do you even going to go to work today? I'll come get you.
Starting point is 00:03:42 We're still picking apples, right? Can we go pick apples? Bro. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah. The Lafayette Apple festivals this weekend. Yep.
Starting point is 00:03:47 Got that going on. That'll give a nice filter-down effect for a lot of places around, which is good. I like that. Katie says, we got an email saying we have to leave school immediately today. Do not stay after to get any work done. Nope. Goodbye. And then there are two weeks from now.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Oh, excuse me. Teachers. Apparently. We're leaving whenever we want to leave. We need to be staying to the lot of time completing a walk. Oh, showgirl lifts is going to Hershey today. What are you doing getting chocolate? Hershey Park.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Man. But that's the phone will be fun. I do. Is there that place open still? You can go to a. Hershey Park, the theme park? I don't know. The one time we went to Hershey Park, it was too hot.
Starting point is 00:04:34 I do remember that. The kids were little. We did a lot of Pennsylvania trips because it was just quick, you know, four-hour trips. And we were down there. I think we were doing other things. And we're like, we had a Hershey Park Day planned. and we got to the park and it was definitely over
Starting point is 00:04:50 100 degrees and I'm like, do we want to be pushing a stroller or carrying kid stuff in this? Or let's go find a beach. We just went to the indoor part. Like the, here's how they make a chocolate bar. Let's have some candy. You got out of the car and the sun was like,
Starting point is 00:05:06 sure about that? You sure about that? That's why? You sure about that? And I was not sure about that. He's having a great time. He's cutting up over here. Twitch.com.
Starting point is 00:05:15 TV slash the show if you want to get involved. Oh, they do a Halloween thing at Hershey Park. That's going to be dope. That'll be a dope fun time. Yeah, that's right. The Enchanted Forest stuff looks awesome. Oh, that's right. I'm going to Old Forge tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:05:27 All those, oh, man, the leaves. It's peak leaves right now. I keep forgetting that I'm doing the rail ride tomorrow. I'm so excited. Bro, we're excited. That's what I got yesterday. No, it's just a day trip. Oh, yeah, I forgot, right?
Starting point is 00:05:41 Right. I knew they were going to forget. And then what way was it? Bro, we got to stay somewhere. No, you will be home. He should say yes. Just a day trip. You just said, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Do we got to stay somewhere? No, you're blessed to get all these fun things. You got to go on a mini vacation and stay in a hotel and old forest. They're just so spoiled. Oh, no. Oh, I got to go get a good meal and go on a rail bike ride. If I didn't have a robot leg, I would switch spots right now. We have to have those talks pretty often with the kids.
Starting point is 00:06:12 We're like, you know how good you have it? I think that's a... There's kids that never get to go anywhere and you go somewhere all the time. I think that's a forever all of the time. Teenage things. I can all of a sudden get flashback to times of me being told that. Do you know how good you have it? I have to say that line a lot.
Starting point is 00:06:28 And they do. They're actually very well-respected kids and they're good kids. But we have to remind them, you're complaining. Oh, man, I got to go on a fun trip and get a great meal at one of these old forge restaurants. Yeah. Poor baby. Kids don't know. I do need a tip, though.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Where am I eating tomorrow, guys? Where am I eating? I'm a... What was the mountainside, you said? Over my skis, is that the phrase? When it comes to fall time food. But what was the barbecue place? That mountainside grill.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Okay, I'm thinking about... I'm thinking that. There's very few places I've gone by myself to eat, like, sit down restaurant. That's one of them. But honestly, that whole stretch from... And if you want to go to Screaming Eagle, you're feeling like wings. Sure, yeah. They've got good other stuff.
Starting point is 00:07:08 Their pizza is actually really, really good. We'll see how the day plays out. Back. Yeah. There's like... four or five really good spots. And then Old Forge actually now has... Yeah, I need to know.
Starting point is 00:07:17 Several new places that are in there, so... I really wanted to go to that roosters. But you're all pointing to me to Mountainside, so I'll check that out probably, but if you got any recommendations. That Tony Harper's is really, really fun. Mm-hmm. It was a lot, man. It was a lot.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Well, if you didn't watch Cocoa Pops last night, first of all, how dare you? It is available on demand. Clutch my purpose. If you head to the show.com and you'll... had seen at the very end of last night's broadcast, Cody, as he often does, tries to smoke weed out of something a little,
Starting point is 00:07:50 a little different. Not usually used for. What produce have we smoked out of so far? Oh, man, I have to go back. Squash for Thanksgiving, right? Did I do? Was there a pumpkin one? A pumpkin, yes.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Pumpkin, yes. Did I try an apple? Maybe. Maybe. I don't remember anymore now. Now we're going to have a hard time. We should pay closer attention to our own broadcasts. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Well, now it's been a lot. It's been a lot of things. Well, regardless, last night. A turkey. Turkey, yes. Well, no, we're at these three chicken. Yep, chicken. And then there's like the little Christmas treat thing. Cranberry sauce.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Cranberry sauce you smoked out of. Little Debbie Kate. Yeah. Yep. I mean, this is just good content, guys. I don't have to tell you. We're here for fun. I don't know what to tell you.
Starting point is 00:08:32 So last night, he smoked out of a pickle. It was one of those big gas station ones too. And you boarded out? Well, because I went to, I wanted a Brooklyn pickle pickle. Oh, okay. But I happened to go over there. It was like one something in the afternoon. And the line was deep.
Starting point is 00:08:53 And I was like, just order a sandwich. That way you're not going to stand in this huge line just to get a pickle. And then I didn't. I turned right around and laughed. They just had those like in a gas station. The old snap, whatever. Right? Yeah, that's all you need.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Yeah, that's it. Now, the reason he did that is because you had sampled a vape from Manticoke. Yep. That's pickle. Yep. Apparently Fernway has a pickle, too, I learned last night. Yeah, because we were told that that was going to be regular or something. They're going to keep that on, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:23 There was somebody else that also had one. Justin at Fernway, he's their rep. Yep. Well, McDonald's is giving out pickle juice. They're getting in the pickle juice game. I weirdly like pickle juice more than pickles. They have bottled their pickle juice. into little shots to give out to runners during the Chicago Marathon.
Starting point is 00:09:45 That's so cool. Now people are like, well, just keep doing this. Yeah, we're, that's got to come in something. We used to pour it down the drain. I was going to say, comes to a big bucket of pickles and you just pour it down the drain. And that's just smart to do something with it. That's what Brooklyn Pickle does.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Because, again, that's where I get my pickle juice. Bottle it up. Just right there. I don't know who this influencer is, but this is somebody trying it. McDonald's pickle juice. shot. McDonald's is bottling their Big Mac pickle brine for the Chicago Marathon. So various locations across Chicago are going to have these available on race day. It is hilarious that they
Starting point is 00:10:18 send these to me because I do not run marathons nor do I really run any distances. But obviously I have to try it. I did have a few cocktails last night. Cheers. Yeah, that hits. That is crisp and salty and sour. I imagine it's packed with electrolytes so it's healthy. Chicago Marathon runners, you will enjoy this. Good thing we still have influencers. I don't know. Thank God. I would I've never have known what pickle juice tastes like. Yeah, thank God we got them influencers. Yeah, enjoy your pickle juice, man. But it's not Big Mac pickles.
Starting point is 00:10:49 It's on all of their sandwiches. Yeah, at anywhere that it's not just like separate pickles for the Big Mac, isn't it? And then, hot take, obviously I love pickles and everybody calls me a baby mouth, but I like a pickle on a burger or I like a pickle on a chicken sandwich. No, it's got to be, it's got to be a good one. Got to be a good like. Not slimy and gross. Give me a hearty pick. But y'all on a chicken sandwich?
Starting point is 00:11:10 Dude, right? I ain't taking that off. Absolutely slacks. He just does something. Yep. Nope, real good. Well, gotta be a crispy pickle. Trying to smoke out of a Big Mac, I guess.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Aha! I feel like once a year I ask the question, what is exactly that beavers do? I don't know what they're doing out there. What? Joey Gladstone reference. Providing. Like, I don't know why they block the rivers they do. I don't know why they got chew down.
Starting point is 00:11:39 trees, I don't understand it. But also providing a service to duck hunters. Don't some of them like that? Because then they make a little, I don't know. Ponds for ducks to land in? I just watched so many of those weird little shows. You know what I mean? Like weird hunting.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Like, bo, blah, blah, wild. People are out hunting right now. Remember, we forgot it's a bow season. Can you hunt? Can you bow on a duck? I saw up by me. Of course, just standing right at the edge of the road this morning. The maybe biggest buck I've seen up there ever.
Starting point is 00:12:15 About on the hill? Yeah. So just be careful everywhere. But I mean, the places that are known to have deer, I feel like, are going to be real bad this fall because that was enormous. I wonder, like, what's the border of people, like, somebody will know in chat. Like, you obviously can't hunt at your apartment. But right outside of there, somebody could be sitting, right?
Starting point is 00:12:38 Like, is there any huntable area over there? It's probably similar to, like, guns. where you got to have, you can't like have a house so many yards in whatever direction or, you know what I mean? Like, you know, you see the stands when you're going down like the highway and the throughway and you see them out in like the cornfields. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:12:57 But an arrow can't go as far as a bullet. No, that, I have no idea what they do. I just know that's the only thing I assume that even with an arrow, you can't be, can't shoot it. 500 yards or many houses or dwellings, 300 feet from the road. Do arrows go five football fields? No, but I think for safety reasons. Or even, do they go weaving one? I don't know how arrows work.
Starting point is 00:13:19 Listen, I've always stood on grounds that if you can beat a deer hand to hand, you can hunt them whenever you want, wherever you want. Yeah. If I can get out of my car and physically choke a deer. Yeah. And if it's on the side of the road, I can do that, you know? I've seen him just pull over and just start, just pound it on dead ones. Yeah, I do.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Just to assert his dominance. Just to make a point, just to show the others around. then I eat its heart. Well, he looks, because there'll be one or two that are, you know, there still, and he just straight eye contact. Yeah. Yeah. Because he's just tenderizing that.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Because I know plenty of people up in Oswego County that aren't following these rules. No. They'll just go out in their backyard and take something out. No, that's what, and you can't, but my, I mean, it was way back to when, but my dad said that his dad, they would do that all the time, just drive around and be like, oh, look, deer in a field, hand me my rifle, son. Yeah. Well, back to Beavers.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Hey, nice beaver. Hey, sweet wood. Beavers in Poland chewed down a sign warning about beavers. Why did they make it out of wood? Good point. Good point. That's on them. Beaver's got a beaver.
Starting point is 00:14:31 They had a wooden post displaying a large message that said, warning, beavers, damage caused by beavers. And then they came back and saw the beavers. They had been damaged caused by beavers. Yeah, Forrester's noticed that the oak post displaying the hazard of sign had been chewed and knocked over. I guess Poland's beaver population. Nine, meaver. One of them Polish beavers. Once estimated, no, beaver by the nearly extinct with only 235 remaining in the country has rebounded to hundreds of thousands.
Starting point is 00:15:09 Oh my God. They got lots of beavers. Nah, yo nah. They got lots of memes. Unless it's another animal that does this, I like it. And I found I have a beaver chewed, like, stick. Oh, you do like to find a good stick out there. That's true.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And it's a big, I don't know how to explain it, but it's got all over it, like a beaver chewed. It's wicked cool. Unless, again, there's another animal that. I don't know about it. Taxline says, can we start putting the get well soon balloons on the dead deer on the side of the road? I think you should. I have seen that. That'd be hilarious.
Starting point is 00:15:38 I've seen that. And it's, I mean, where it's all, poor deer. No, they're stupid. Chief Chuck says. Chief Chuck. What up, Chief Chuck. Some compound bows are as powerful as a 22. You can go almost a mile or a bow and arrow,
Starting point is 00:15:54 and that's why they're structured and stuff around residents is. Gotcha. That's cool. I didn't know that. That's pretty cool. That's neat. I've never shot one of those. I've shot plenty of compound bows.
Starting point is 00:16:04 I'm not good at it. Like I said on yesterday's show, I'm really bad at bows. But if I went outside with a compound bow on this roof and just shot it in the air, and they're just, who, right? It could travel for a mile. That's pretty impressive. That's pretty cool, man. And there's a lot to that.
Starting point is 00:16:17 What? All that stuff, because I see all the things where they're like, and then I pulled it back like this, and I've got my fingers this way and, like, is it hard? I mean, it's been decades since I've shot a compound bow, but it was hard. Yeah. It's easier than a regular bow, but my problem is that the line would always beat up the
Starting point is 00:16:35 inside of my arm, so a lot of people wear those, like, leather protectors there. Oh, that's what that's for? Yeah. I've seen that. Because I don't know if I was doing it wrong, but every time I'd released it, like, hit this side of my arm. Yeah. Let's go shoot some bows.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Because I've only ever done, again, the little archery thing from, you know, Parks and Rec, which is fun. We got to go get bow lessons. Okay. I have to. And I've said before, I've pitched us to the sales department time and time again. I would love for some range or somebody to give us, like, proper handgun training. I've definitely shot guns without proper training.
Starting point is 00:17:10 I'd like someone who's like a professional to be like this is how you do that. I want to be, I want to be John Wick. I want to be a really good shot. Yeah, right. That'd be fun to just, even just to learn, take a couple classes would be informative. I don't know. Because I'm, listen, everything I learned about shooting guns came from either Boy Scouts or just somebody in Oswega County. Well.
Starting point is 00:17:31 Which is not exactly the most professional. I mean. Lottie's a really good shot. He can teach us. I actually, weirdly, I mean, you were a good shot? I made really good shot. Again, did I even need to tell you where all of my everything from, yeah, all of it.
Starting point is 00:17:45 I was decent with a rifle, handguns not so much. That's why I want to be better at it. That's a skill I feel like I want. I don't know why I want that skill, but why not have that skill? Because it's just, it's cool. I want to do that thing in Vegas. Where you just shoot all those crazy guns. It was just, I don't remember if you didn't have time or it was expensive, whatever.
Starting point is 00:18:04 But yeah, that looks awesome. We're just, yeah, you just pick. Yeah, those are wild. That looks crazy. Where you can just go pick up a deser guns. or to eagle or whatever and shoot that thing. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Yeah, I don't. I want just proper training in case it all goes down. I'm my grenade lessons. I'm ready. You know? In grenade lessons? Yep. I'd like them be pretty fun to throw a grenade.
Starting point is 00:18:23 That'd be so cool. I bet they let you do that in Vegas. Oh my God. We're going tomorrow. If you could throw a grenade. Hold on. Cody A.I. A.I. is back.
Starting point is 00:18:32 Let me ask it. Why would they let you? All right. All right. Go ahead. Is there a place in Las Vegas that lets you throw a? All right. Just ask anywhere.
Starting point is 00:18:41 Don't let me your search. Is there anywhere I can throw a grenade? Hello? What's it saying? Safely throw a live military grenade by joining the armed forces. No, don't start. No, I don't want to do that. I'm too fat and old.
Starting point is 00:18:56 But they do that. Recreational grenades. So are any army people, have you ever hooked her grenade then? Oh, I'm sure plenty of our listeners have. They probably are suffering from terrible PTSD because of that. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, never mind. I'm sure it was not a fun experience, but I would like to recreationally
Starting point is 00:19:12 pull a pin. Go ahead. Is there anywhere in Las Vegas that you can throw a grenade? Because it's Vegas. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. What's it say? It froze. Because you can drive those tanks in Vegas, right? Can I drive a tank in Vegas?
Starting point is 00:19:27 Oh, there are those places, right? Is there anywhere in Vegas that I can drive a tank? It's searching a lot. Oh, my God. It's searching a lot of places. Mm-hmm. You can drive a tank in the Las Vegas area at Battlefield Vegas. Vegas outdoor adventures near Lake Mead. and bullets and burgers near Lake Meat. These experiences...
Starting point is 00:19:49 There's multiple... Crush cars. And often include safety instruction. You can drive a tank and crush... Multiple tank options? I thought that was one. We got to get to Vegas. I can drive a tank.
Starting point is 00:20:05 Yeah, dude. Yeah, it's kind of awesome. It's driving over a car. Look at Ligwilly says he's thrown a grenade before. And then he got tackled because he forgot the duck. Oh. Oh, I ain't me. Andy, get down by me, Doc,
Starting point is 00:20:18 and he ain't me, Doc. Look, a text sign's been there twice, dude. Oh, oh. I shot a machine gun in Vegas. Oh, I got it. All right, we got to go. All right. We got to get out of Vegas.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Happy Halloween. Tonight's Spooktacular stroll opens up. Five o'clock over a Long Branch Park. It's Halloween time. There's so much stuff happening out. There's so much going on. And it's my favorite month of the year. And I love Halloween so much.
Starting point is 00:20:40 And then it goes by so fast because it's already the ninth. And we're already moving into it. Good. It's fine. It's fine. All the ghosty things. Beaville's got a ghost walk those just on TV. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:49 There's a lot you could be out doing. Just even randomly around the town, like that 13 curves. Mm-hmm. This time now of the year where people, I always see people kind of pulled over in spots. Just be careful when you're doing those things. Because my algorithm gets local. I saw some influencer who made a video about Grey Road up in Oswego.
Starting point is 00:21:09 Okay. Yep. Yep. You should go out, go do that. Up to Grey Road? Yep. Does your kid know about that? About that not being too far from you guys?
Starting point is 00:21:18 Here's the weird thing. The oldest, as much as they love scary movies and all things horror, don't really care about real ghosts. And while have they experienced something like... Horror films. They're more of a film buff than they are scary stuff. See, we got to let them borrow Scotty's like thing so they can get firsthand experience.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Because again, I'll do ghost hunting with my kids. Oh, yeah. Because I'm more into it now that I've seen... Did that thing work? Well, just how I get it. It's random. It's very specifically random. It's very specifically random.
Starting point is 00:21:53 I would say it can be random, but also the fact that Cody's deceased father named his ex-wives by name in the machine. Yeah. That's not going to happen by random. And there's just one instance of craziness from that thing. And there was tons more. Yes, yes, he did. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:15 And then he knocked off my Halloween decoration just to start Cocoa Puffs. You don't know, last night? Yeah. Well, one. That I had... I came in five minutes late. What were you having? I had that tacked.
Starting point is 00:22:26 Mm-hmm. There was a tack. Mm-hmm. That's been there forever. Yeah. And it just decided to... Cool. Thanks, Frank.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Just come right off. Thank you, Frank. Sure. So we're in full ghosty mode around here. We're locked and loaded. Lots of stuff. Grimsley's Gorge, opening up on the 23rd up in Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:22:45 Great haunt. Yep. It's probably going to be packed this week, but there's that little spot that's right by that finally ours that we did. The hollow. Oh, cool.
Starting point is 00:22:56 What a nice little pumpkin patch and it's got a... They do a haunty thing there? No, but a bunch of stuff for kids. Cool, that's nice. There's a little maze. There's an area for them to run around. There's a couple like little sheds
Starting point is 00:23:06 with little things in it, a little store. It's a good spot for kids. You got another great weekend for Frightmare Fon. Right. Tonight, tomorrow night. And is it Sunday?
Starting point is 00:23:16 They do a Sunday haunt because Monday is Columbus Day. I bet that's cool. So get up to fright, Mary. Anyways, a lot of haunty stuff going on. Oh. And looking at Google results. This was funny because I was talking to our boy Khan the other day. He's got to go to a Halloween party.
Starting point is 00:23:33 He doesn't know what to wear. I go, just do sheet with holes in it. Do ghosts. Oh, my God. That'd be so funny. Old school. Because we were talking homemade Halloween costumes the other day. Just do, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Ghost, sheet, eyes. That would be really funny. So Google Trends has each state's most popular, boring costume. Oh. So like, okay. What do you want to be? I don't know. I'm a ghost.
Starting point is 00:23:59 I was saying it for a lot of them? No. Really? Well. Yeah, do the Charlie Brown one with multiple holes. Yeah, right. Most popular? And this doesn't seem boring to me.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Here or? This is in New York. Okay. Well, hold on, let me think. Think ladies. Nice. Ladies, New York, boring, but not boring. No, I'll never get it.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Mermaid. That seems like you gotta put an effort into that costume. Yeah, that's not. Maybe you're not doing the whole tail thing. Yeah. But Mermaid's colorful, fun makeup. Because even the little, little Mermaid. Does she just have like a little, no, no, you can't.
Starting point is 00:24:38 I can show you the word. Because there's no way even just to do that lazy style. That was a lad. by the way. Oh, yes, my best. Yes, it was. Because she doesn't have anything to set her apart. Like an easy ladies mermaid could be like you get like a broadly colored pair of like leggings.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Yeah. I mean, we're not going to do the tail. You do fun makeup. You do like a fun wig maybe. I think like a complex costume. Yeah, because again, what's mermaid about it? I don't know. That's a hard one.
Starting point is 00:25:05 Same with this one. Where's Nebraska? Is she in here? Well. Most popular boring costume in Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, and Idaho. A cornhubes. Oscar. Oh, good one.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Dinosaur. Maybe because you can just buy an inflatable dinosaur costume and walk around on it. Remember those are hot? A couple of Halloween's ago. Or you just do this move. You can just put your arms. I'm a D-E-Rex. I'm a T-Rex.
Starting point is 00:25:28 I'm a T-Rex. I'm a T-Rex. I can't touch my winky. So I guess if you're looking at this data, like the headline's kind of confusing because it says boring Halloween costumes. These are just the most popular costumes in those states. And they are kind of boring. But I think they're more complex and they're giving them credit.
Starting point is 00:25:47 Like number one, in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, bat. I was going to say bear. Bear, be fun. Bat, I would do like a black turtleneck, black pants, maybe a set of wings you find on Amazon. Staple, you get a long black sleeve shirt. You staple a towel alongside here and then long side to like your pants. Bro, I forgot about doing the towel cape back. the day.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Right. When you'd get out of the bath and you would just put your cape up like Batman. Do it. Do it now. Now, this is a great one. Let's go see our friends in West Virginia. Oh, boy. Their number one costume?
Starting point is 00:26:26 Kiss and cousin. Kentucky hard milk. Including Michigan, Kentucky, and Indiana. Monster. What are you? That's not boring. I'm a monster. Monster is kind of fun because it's kind of, you could be anything.
Starting point is 00:26:41 I'm a monster. Rar, rar, my monster. I used to be, there was a couple years' stretch where I would just take a bunch of Halloween makeup. Okay. I'd wear like, but it could be comfortable, but warm, just black clothes or whatever. And then I would just take a bunch of Halloween makeup, put it on myself. And then the move was, then you just take fake blood. There you go, done.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Well, we were talking homemade Halloween costumes earlier this week, and Fuzz. was talking in chat about how we both just had the bin of costumes. Oh, yeah. My mom still does. She says tons of bins. Still, yes. She chimed in on Whiskey Wednesday saying she was like eight bins of costumes. I was going to say, if you need something, literally ask her first.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Deb's got costume rentals if you need it. Yep. And or any of like your thrifty shoppers and stuff, hit those up before you take your kids out to somewhere really expensive. Don't forget those all those places have a ton of things. Either they donated their old costumes or you can find the complete. components to put together a costume. Yep. Because you know it's an easy costume that maybe it's insensitive now.
Starting point is 00:27:48 Hobo was always an easy costume. Yeah. I'm a hobo. Hobo. I got, and you put the little beard, like you use your mom's makeup brush and you put beard on, I'm a hobo, I got a little bindle stick. Well, and I was like, and you had a carry for either a second candy bag or just your candy bag.
Starting point is 00:28:05 It's just smart thinking. And you're just good. No, that's how I was, that's why I was a lady a couple times. It was easy. Yeah. What are you right now? Dark Ernie you said you came up with? I keep forgetting to do it.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Dark Ernie and it's hysterical because I have the Ernie costume. And then you know how he's got the black tough to hair? Yep. I have a wig that looks like if he were to grow that out because I cut it for whatever reason for something. And then it's got, I have the black plague doctor mask that I put into some things. But then I just say like funny lines. I like your Emo Ernie gimmick. It's not a phase, Bert.
Starting point is 00:28:40 Maryland, Nevada. Wyoming Angel. I'm an angel. That one's boring. That one is boring? I don't know for some reason. None of those other ones set screamed any type of boring to me, but for some reason the second you said that, I was like, that's boring.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Because with bat, I would just put on all black clothes and some wings. Angel, I would just put on all white clothes and like a little halo thing. I'm an angel. How do you make a halo? Huh. Some stick with a cut plate on top of it. Or pipe cleaner. You're going more fancy.
Starting point is 00:29:13 I would have just put like a thing on my head. Like a round thing just on my head. I don't need it to be elevating. But then you're gibus. Oh, I am with my crown of thorns. And then Missouri, North Carolina and New Mexico, number one costume is alien. That doesn't seem boring or easy to me.
Starting point is 00:29:32 Alien. That's not boring. Alien's fun. Because it's kind of really anything you want. Mm-hmm. That's not bloody. Some runner-ups. Some runner-ups.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Pumpkin. Pumpkin's an easy baby one. That's boring. Yeah. Best costume our kid ever had and there's the cutest photo ever. Well, two. Hold on. Our kids have been a lot of cute costumes when I think about it.
Starting point is 00:29:57 I like when you people put your babies in pumpkins for real. That is funny. Because they can't get out. Oh, God, that's so funny. When our youngest was like maybe not even one yet, we got him a turkey costume. So we have a photo. just like him as a baby, but with the big turkey thing behind him. Just sit.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Wait, do one year old stand? She was seated. Okay, but just seated, yeah. And then our oldest has always been so, like, creative and quirky. One year, for their Halloween costume, they were, uh, Peter Pan's shadow. Oh, I think I remember. So we got them an all black unitar thing.
Starting point is 00:30:36 And then my wife made, like, a black Peter Pan hat and, like, a black Peter Pan hat and, like, a black Peter Pan's sword. It was a dope costume. That's a smart costume too. Dope costume. Smart. I like that. Anyways, what are some of your favorites? Vampire made the runner-up list.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Bore. Generic superhero. Neck. Doctor? Boring. Boring. There's only, some reason, there's only a few of these that come up across to me. It's boring. And that's one of them. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:31:00 Doctor, you could pull off because I remember when my mom was a nurse. She would just have a stethoscope in the house. Yeah. And you could just say, I'm a doctor now. I don't think I ever was a nurse or a doctor. And my dad was a nurse. Yeah, you could have done that. I don't know if I ever did.
Starting point is 00:31:14 I'm a nurse. April in chat says, My sister dressed her baby in a wonder bread costume, and it was the most adorable thing. You just put the baby in the bread bag? You make a loaf of bread and put the baby in it, yeah. No, just a wonder bread bag. You take the bread out and just slide the baby in.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Oh, my God. Kelly says my cousin's baby's been wearing a helmet to help shape his head, because sometimes that happens. They've got to get their head shape. I don't, babies are weird. She said you want to dress them. up as a flathead screwdriver. That's hilarious. That's really funny. Sometimes mom squeeze them out with their journey.
Starting point is 00:31:45 They go, which made the list. And then Oklahoma. Uh-oh. Oklahoma's number one Halloween costume is, I'll give you three guesses. Okay. To Oklahoma's number one Halloween costume. Construction worker.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Nope. Uh, Oklahoma down there. Cowboy. Nope. Now, where you give me your third guest? Okay. I'm going to give you a clue. It's edible It's edible
Starting point is 00:32:13 Oklahoma's number one Halloween costume is edible It is? What is everybody usually That's a piece of food? Is it just hot dog? Candy corn Wrong
Starting point is 00:32:24 Wrong How are you? Candy corn How do you do How do you be candy corn? Well, think clothes again What's the color combo? I could do like a white hat
Starting point is 00:32:33 Orange shirt Brown pants or something maybe Yeah and some type of that order And then just go on candy corn Candy corn. That's boring. Gere some candy. Boring.
Starting point is 00:32:43 Wrong. Get all of our live streams links and shows on demand at the show.com. The show. Dot FM. You can go back and watch Coco Puffs from last night. You can watch us live streaming right now to your eye holes. Get our podcast. Get all of our social links.
Starting point is 00:33:00 Come say, How do you do? Oh, hi. Now this is a discussion I can get behind. Because I like bringing back old. Old trends, things that maybe went out of fashion a long time ago. Some things we could bring back. And this is a discussion I'm reading here on the Internet.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Like the old fashioned. Classic. Classic. Classic. No. Some people say there's some trends that went away that maybe we could bring back. For example. I don't know if you feel about this.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Wearing top hats. No. No? No. I don't like really top hats. Because now you look like that kid. Who? Who's cool?
Starting point is 00:33:47 Who'd wear a top hat? That way. Oh, the one that would have... Me? No, no, maybe. Or my fedoras? No, that one's okay. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:33:54 There's always that kid. Mm-hmm. Like, oh, yep, there. He's got his top hat and his fingerless gloves. Oh, my lady. Yeah. My lady. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:05 Yeah, he definitely likes the Renaissance Festival. But so no, no top hat. Sorry. This one is coming back, because my kid does it. Taking pictures with actual cameras. I have seen that. That's a trend right now. It kept trying to like take off.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Like they had those fun little inventions of that camera that would, you know, the little mini polaroids and stuff like that. I have one of those at home, yeah. So I, it was trying, but I don't, I think it's going to stay where it is now of just like, because they're not going to bring back. No, but it's weird. Like photo places inside of, you know, Walgreens type view. So my youngest is taking.
Starting point is 00:34:40 photography in school. I think he actually likes photography. Yeah, stuff's fun. But it's not just him. Like when I was at the Apple Orchard a couple weeks ago, a lot of Gen Z kids would take out their old, they must have got it from their parents, or maybe they still sell them, I don't know, but it's like those old
Starting point is 00:34:56 like point in shoes with like the LCD on the back instead of using their phone. They're like doing that. It's fun to do to figure out ways to make that and then make it look good as opposed to or they started with like the Instagram stuff because even I like that to, you know, make a picture look real nice or, you know, the filters and all the things
Starting point is 00:35:14 you could do. So I could see how that would peak interest in like a kid that starts doing that. Mm-hmm. It launches them into photography and stuff. Both of my kids did a photo shoot with the youngest doing basketball shots and the oldest using the old-timey camera to get photo. Oh, that's neat. Trends, people want to see come back.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Drinking alcohol at work. I mean, yeah, have a little... I guess the check's head. It'll straight. When you watch the... those old shows. When you watch those old shows like Mad Men, they just had a bar in their office. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:44 You'd walk in, Cody, can I get you a drink? Can I get anybody a drink? Yeah, with businessy deals, I think, is that, I bet it's still a thing. What? You think so? Businessy deals of, like, rich business people. That'll be like, when they come, like, if you got a meeting, you're a real rich businessy guy today and you've got a meeting with another really rich businessy guy.
Starting point is 00:36:05 And it's like noon and you go to his big office and his big fancy building, I bet you walk, we could show you that's something and he's got a you know what I mean keep it why can't we do it why can't us
Starting point is 00:36:15 working class people have I got we got booze right in here why can't you walk into the mechanic and the mechanic offers you a drink no thank you no thank you you said it can I have you a buzz ball
Starting point is 00:36:29 a pop tart buzz ball can I have you a pop tart buzz ball yes because we do have to do that today I don't want oh yeah we are it's a buzzball Friday he found one of these stupid pot-tart ones that I thought were AI.
Starting point is 00:36:43 So before we get into gaming, right as our new owner, Chuck is here. I want to go a big old sloth. We invite Chuck in here, do a little double-banger? No. No, no, no. He did say that he missed being around a real rock station. He did say that?
Starting point is 00:36:55 After we were talking about the wheel of tattoos, because he said he was, you know, being around the contemporary ones, a country. He said he was a rock guy and all their stations. I don't know they have a rock stations, do they? Maybe they have a classic rock. They have a couple, but I don't understand. Because it's not like, it's like one of the, they had a Rondack one or maybe the,
Starting point is 00:37:14 maybe the Vermont one. Somebody's got one that's close. Yeah, we're pretty edgy in here. We're drinking. We're boozing. Nobody is ever as good as you, man. No, come out. I love you.
Starting point is 00:37:24 I love you. Oh, Joe says he doesn't share. Joe, when I go, I go, have Joe look at my car. He would offer me a drink, but he's not going to share. Old school trends that people want to see come back. I don't know. Don't sniff Jack Daniels. You're going to throw up.
Starting point is 00:37:39 I don't know if this went away, but I've been a huge proponent of this my whole life. Flying kites. I guess I don't see people flying kites anymore, but I wish they would. This would have to be a mama-mat question. I don't think I've ever flown a kite. What? No, I don't. Let's go fly a kite.
Starting point is 00:38:01 I'd imagine my undiagnosed ADD would allow me to have the patients to. You don't need patients. Fly kite. You don't need patience. If I took you out, we're going to go fly some kites. Oh, I see him doing it at different parts around the Tisco Lake all the time. It looks fun. I have this weird problem.
Starting point is 00:38:19 And I don't know if it's disassociation. Do a kite fight. Or what it is. But I used to love flying kites a lot when I was a kid because you get them in your Easter basket or you just get them for a birthday or whatever. Kites were very easy, phase drugs, buy it on the way out. My nanny'd give me a kite or my mom would give me a kite. And I'd go out and we'd fly it in the field.
Starting point is 00:38:38 field and then as I got older, my fear of heights overrode my joy of kites. You didn't like it being up there so high? Because no, because then my brain was starting to be like, look how high that is, dude. I'm going to like it. Well, imagine I'll be in that high, and it really, it gave me like a really uncomfortable feeling. We could fly kite out here. We could, but once something gets high enough, I start to get really uncomfortable about it.
Starting point is 00:39:04 You want to fly kite on the roof up here? No. Well, we'll do a field. Ironically, out by your apartment would be pretty nice down in the big field. People fly every once in a while. You see people out there flying a kite. Do you remember the era? This is a very deep 1900s reference.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Do you remember the era of professional kites? And you'd go to the mall and there'd be that one store with like the $1,000 kites? Yep, I do. Yep. And you'd see the guys like doing tricks and stuff with them. Because it had the little video playing. Yep. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:33 You'd be like, oh, wow, that's really cool. It was like one or two years in the late. 1900s when we were getting really into kites. And I remember specifically a store in Great Northern Mall that I do remember that. That's really weird. You'd spend money on a really good kite.
Starting point is 00:39:50 And also like the Mickey Mouse if you want. Yeah. We'll get you Mickey Mouse. Get you cheap one. I also love model rockets, but that's a different conversation for another day. Old school trends we want to bring back. Handwritten letters. People want to write more handwritten letters. I don't. I hate my handwriting. I don't like handwriting things.
Starting point is 00:40:14 I don't have a problem with my handwriting, but the problem is everybody else does, including myself, even though I just that I don't. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I have terrible handwriting. It's not the best. I have terrible. It's just, I don't know, I can write in cursive and all that stuff. I just, I don't even know. Sometimes I don't even know what I write. Yeah, I get it, dude. I don't even know what some of my chicken scratches. I don't have anything now. But, yeah, just sometimes I'll look down and be like, did you go to school?
Starting point is 00:40:49 Did you go to school? What happened? They did their best, bud. I mean, the teachers did their best with us. Well, it was too busy to be right in the worst. Lottie, with his reaction gifts. I like, like, the thing about handwritten notes is I like the sentiment of handwritten notes, and I do what the handwritten notes do.
Starting point is 00:41:09 So, for example, a handwritten note is cool when you're like, hey, just checking in on you. How have you been? How's things haven't heard from you in a while? And you send off the hand-hit written note. Yeah. I do that in text form or in DMs. Yeah. That's true.
Starting point is 00:41:25 Yeah. I generally like checking it on people and seeing how you been. I haven't heard from you. Or if something happens, like, somebody loses somebody. I like checking in on them or they get a big award or something. Congratulations. So you got that. That's my version of a handwritten note.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Yeah, and if you didn't have that, then I'm sure you would have no problem doing a handwritten note. It's just there's so many steps involved. I got to write a note. Then I got to put it in an envelope. Then I got to mail it. You know who still does handwritten notes in some, yeah. Deb does a card.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Deb sends me cards twice a year. I was going to say, I guarantee you. Susan sends me cards twice a year. You're about to get a Halloween card, I'm sure. Oh, a Halloween card? She is the queen of cards. Your mom's a great card giver. She has kept hallmark.
Starting point is 00:42:09 in... But that's so sweet of her. That's her handwritten notes. Yes, yeah. That's her checking in. She's a... For being a little crazy old lady, she's got the memory of a...
Starting point is 00:42:21 Of a fox. Is that it? Oh, and Dad, you texted me a bunch of books. No, we don't need those. But thank you. Thank you for the offer. She does. She's old school.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Yep. She's very good to remember that stuff. And it honestly feels nice to get something in the mail. As weird as that sounds. No, I like it. I don't know if the new generation likes getting mail. I like getting mail. I like getting mail.
Starting point is 00:42:38 I love it. in mail. That's not a bill or in this time of year every politician telling me something? Yeah. No, luckily I don't, I sneak away from all that. Up where I am, I feel like maybe it goes somewhere else. Oh, the flyers? No, every day my mailbox is just full of political flyers
Starting point is 00:42:53 this time of year. Mm-hmm. So what are some old school trends you want to bring back? Twitch. tv slash the show. Cigarettes inside. Thank you. How do you make a name as the city's most compelling compact crossover? Well, the LexusUX
Starting point is 00:43:11 started with a refined suspension, tuned for the streets, then added a palette of distinctive, vibrant exterior colors and kept it going with an available 12.3-inch touchscreen using our intuitive Lexus interface. The Lexus UX, engineered to fit in, designed to stand out. See Burdick Lexus and Cicero. What I'm about to talk about, you're all going to want to do it, but wait till you're at work or somewhere safe.
Starting point is 00:43:41 I don't want you all trying to monkey with your phones while you're driving. Well, that, pull over for that, please. But I'm pretty nerdy with apps, and even I didn't know this was a thing, and I just discovered it, and I'm going to talk about it, but I don't want you all getting a car accidents because you're going to try to find this thing on your phone, okay? Okay. So the Verge discovered that in your Amazon app, Amazon has a bunch of things about you
Starting point is 00:44:11 to target your shopping preferences. Oh, nice. I like those things. I know you do. I'm a fan of... And I didn't even know this was really an option. Because we're not going to get away from this. They're all going to know everything.
Starting point is 00:44:23 So we might as well have all these things tailored to what we actually do like. So at the very end, I will tell you how to find these. Actually, I'll tell you now, like I said, go wait until your award to do this. Listen back to the show on demand. I'm a wolf. But I want Cody to do a code of his. I'm a woke one now. So I want you to open your Amazon app.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Oh, I wonder what Cody's is going to say. So anyways, here's what happens. Every Amazon shopper is aware that Amazon's collecting data about us. I think I got it down. What? I don't have. You don't have the Amazon app? Why?
Starting point is 00:44:58 You don't have an Amazon app? Do you not shop on Amazon? My mom's gotten a comment. Oh, your mommy does it? Yeah. Yeah, I don't have... Listen, I choose my battles. I don't love Jeff Bezos in Amazon,
Starting point is 00:45:08 but there's a convenience to it. I stick it to the man where I can stick it to the man. But in this case, I'll give you my example and I'll tell you how to find it. Okay. Yeah, I guess I... Whoops. They have a new feature called About You.
Starting point is 00:45:22 Oh, I'm mad. Which shows the information, which uses your information to personalize your exact experience. Oh. To find this, here's what you do. You open your Amazon app. You click on the little person on the bottom. There's a little person guy.
Starting point is 00:45:42 Second from the left. Then you're going to click on hello. Like at the very top it says hello. Hello. Click on that and then select About You. When you get to About You, I have 47 points of data that Amazon knows about me to target my shopping. You want to know some of them? Yes, I do.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Some of them are right, some of them not so much. Yeah, I want to see what did they get right or wrong. Home and family. Likely lives in Fulton, New York. Got me there. I mean, obviously, it delivers to my house, so it knows where I live. Okay. Product preferences.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Preferts gentle skin care formulations. That's going to be my wife. Although. For his, Buffalo's a bag. Mom, blah, bum, bum, ma. A bunch of things about skin care. This is, he chooses this brand. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Departments enjoys energy supplements. So my five-hour energies that I like to drink. Okay. User is a teacher and purchases classroom supplies. As they should. I don't want my tax is going to that. That, you know, good.
Starting point is 00:46:49 As it should be. Loyal to Yamamoto fishing lures. Got to get those Sankos, bud. Thank those. Green pumpkins or you got to get the cotton candies. Product preferences. Selects premium. All.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Audio equipment. Regularly records audio. Mr. Fancy Man over here. Now this one's wrong. It says collects funco figures. I've got a couple funcos Amazon, but... Is your kid? Maybe.
Starting point is 00:47:20 No, like in the house... Well, oldest might have some horror funcos. I don't know if we got those on Amazon. And if it was in like a short stretch, I'm sure that would kind of mess with the algorithm a little bit. Uh... This one. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:47:36 They got you? Values cable management solutions. Which is true. I do like good cable management. I don't want all my cords going all over the place. I like those hits. You talked away. No, I agree.
Starting point is 00:47:48 I agree. Requests often golf practice equipment. Expanded golf. It's my kid. He plays a lot of golf. Okay. Expanded golf. Cat care in a department.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Because they have a dog. Don't they have a dog? Shops from Memphis. Departments goes fishing regularly, practices golf at home. It should have... Plays video games. Should have said fishes for men. I do from time to time.
Starting point is 00:48:16 Household as two adults. Well... That's one they got wrong then? Is inside the PlayStation ecosystem. So it knows what games I prefer. That's weird. Right? That it knows that.
Starting point is 00:48:30 Has an outdoor space. I do have my fire pit. Okay. This is my... I'm not to embarrass my... my wife likes Tick-Tac winter green mints. My wife loves Tick-Tac winter green mint. She's always going to.
Starting point is 00:48:41 All right. Okay. Has an axolado. Well, he did. The axolado pass, sadly. Hence the dead. Has a dog, has a desktop computer, blah, blah, blah. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:48:52 It knows so much about you. And some of the funny ones that are coming up that are people sharing are now that they see this. Yeah. Again, if you want to see this and you're safely parked and at home or school. Or you're just smart enough to use your phone while you drive. Some of us can drive. I mean, no, don't know.
Starting point is 00:49:07 On the app, click the little person at the bottom. Yeah. Click at the top where it says hello. And then click about you. About you. Some people are sharing theirs. And if you see yours, I want to know what yours are. I want to know what ones you're seeing.
Starting point is 00:49:22 Yeah, I wish I had one now. Now I'm mad, I don't have a... Does not trust people easily. I mean, you should be wary of most people. Amazon's right about that. Yeah. This one's sad. Has no friends.
Starting point is 00:49:35 Oh my God. Amazon. How did Amazon even know that? Because the things you've bought off Amazon. Even based on anything. Yeah. Other than multiple books that say, I have no friends,
Starting point is 00:49:50 how do I make friends? How do I make friends books? Yeah. But yeah, that's just kind of a dick move. Is obsessed with ultra-minimal one travel bags. Okay. Cannot keep plants alive. I know.
Starting point is 00:50:05 Yeah. Yeah, no, I could see how it could figure that one out. Treats cats as biological children. See, that would, yep. Yeah, mine would have that about the dog. Talks to animals. Has flat buttocks. Why would I shop for anything?
Starting point is 00:50:27 You got that flat butt. You're getting butt pads on the regular. All right, what's Kelly say? Kelly says indoor plant care chooses premium organic mediums. Maintaining consistent plant care routine. Maintains indoor plant garden. So I think she likes plants. She might like plants, I think, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:45 Yeah, I think she likes plants. Michael shows that he has an infant and he likes to fish a lot. There you go. That's about it. We've got facial care, tic-tacks, audio equipment, fishing, and golfing on mine. That's what we know. Boom. All right.
Starting point is 00:50:57 What does your Amazon know about you? I want to see. Tool. Ahoi, hoi, what's up? Now that I saw that one video of, you better not be mudvane when I get. get there. Me. I saw another. You better not be Maynard. Then it's just a guy. It's him doing weird Maynard moves. I like the videos where they make sleep paralysis, demons, different musicians. I love it.
Starting point is 00:51:19 Like Adam Durrith is your sleep paralysis. That might be. The master George Amby. Just standing in the doorway. Oh man. This is this. Those are good. Is Kay Rock. Good morning. Happy Friday. And there's a ton of the guys being wrestlers now. Oh, there is. There's so many of those. The Brett Hart ones, yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Once someone saw that, they were like, oh, I can be Brett Hart, too. Yeah. There's that. The one with people being Rick. They're really good. This is a heartwarming story, I guess, as someone who meets siblings in the wild often. High school softball players on opposing teams realize they were actually sisters. Sister, sister.
Starting point is 00:52:08 And if you see Howard walk up, just let me know. I thought it did. It was not him. It's being called the real-life parent trap. Happened at a softball game. Two girls were on opposing teams and found out they shared much more than a passing resemblance. Samantha Rendsbold and Kian Dean were playing a Montana high school softball tournament. When someone noticed they looked like mere images of each other,
Starting point is 00:52:33 they were sisters who had been adopted by two different families. I was going to say that I could see that happening in different ways now, more likely than in the past. That's pretty cool. Like, oh, what are you doing there? Like, that's pretty cool. I mean, that's sweet that they were adopted and like stayed close to, I guess, where they were adopted from. But, yeah, that is literally the plot of sister, sister. Yes, it is.
Starting point is 00:52:56 They were adopted by two different families. Didn't know how much I missed you. Hanging on the family tree with an impersonality. Yes. Sister, sister. Jackay. Can't find Montana on a map, but if you need the sister's sister theme. And know that it's Jackay.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Jackay and other guy. And that guy with the mustache. Who is in everything? And that guy from the thing. And T. and Tamara. And then that other little guy that was in all the other little things as well, their friend. Just try to guess the first name of the other guy. You're right.
Starting point is 00:53:32 T. N. Tomorrow. Marcos. Jack A. Harry. Marcus was the little boy. Yes.
Starting point is 00:53:37 Damn it. No. the other dad. Jeffrey. No, I'll give you two more guesses. I don't want the first name. Loman. Willie Lohman, no.
Starting point is 00:53:49 All right. Last guest. Sanzibal. Sanzabal is correct, yes. No. Actor, Tim Reed. Oh, I think I knew that. You did? I think I knew that. Not like, you know, I know
Starting point is 00:54:05 that's Tim Reed, but I think I've no, I've, I've seen that that's who that is before. He was in W. K.R. B, Cincinnati, Frank's Place, all those shows. I would have never guessed it, though. All right. Simon and Simon, he was in. Marcus Houston.
Starting point is 00:54:20 Marcus Houston was the little boy, yeah. Emmett Smith. No, Tim Reed is, I would never see this guy walking like, hey, that's Tim Reed. No. No. That's Dan from Sister Sister. Anyways, here's the clip of them talking about it. We're just in tears, and it's like, oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:54:35 I look back on the video. that we have in. Like, we were so awkward to meet each other, but you could just see the excitement. It was crazy because I could see how much we acted alike. I've never had a sister, so was like, wow, now I get a sister to talk to. Oh, that's so weird. That's cute. Other than the ones being a little more kind of quiet like this, they were the same,
Starting point is 00:54:53 the same voice and stuff. Yeah, that was neat. Oh, that's weird. Are you, Josh? Why? Because I've seen what it looks like when you pull. I'm wondering. You're a.
Starting point is 00:55:08 Syracuse Crunch. Open up their 33rd season, Howard? 33 years, bud. 33, man. Especially for a man who's only in his early 50s like you. I don't know how you pulled that off. 48, buddy, yeah, you're, uh. 33 years, Howard.
Starting point is 00:55:24 I mean, let's, first of all, let's look back at all these years here in Syracuse, same building. Let me ask you about that, though, because I saw a little back and forth between you and McMahon over the summer, right? about facility, do we want a new facility? What do we want to do? So it's not back and forth. It's, you know, we speak privately.
Starting point is 00:55:46 Yeah. And then publicly, you know, different things are said. Sure. So I'm really comfortable with said private. But, you know, clearly this. The new facility is definitely needed. Yep. And it's not just needed for the crunch.
Starting point is 00:56:00 It's needed for the community. For sure. Agreed. And we've had conversations. We continue to have conversations. with the powers that be at SU, at Le Moyne, about adding their teams to play in a new facility. Oh, interesting, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:17 And we feel very good about that happening, you know. I mean, the dome is good for certain events. Yeah. Big, big, but, you know, it leaves a lot to be desired for more intimate events. And in our business, in our business of the concert business, we don't have a facility. that's that medium size. We've got the amphitheater in the summer, but it's either the dome or the landmark,
Starting point is 00:56:42 and the landmark is kind of sit down, boozy. That's what the one memorial has always bad. It's 100% bad, and we've talked to a company, and we've been working with them for several years, that is the number one company in building and managing arenas and stadiums in the world. Wow, okay. And they want to come here, and they say it's the,
Starting point is 00:57:05 it is, you know, the most underutilized market for concerts. Mm-hmm. They said, you're losing 25 to 30 concerts. We definitely are. And I'll give you an example. About three years ago, this company built a new facility in Savannah, Georgia. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:57:19 Which is not exactly a hotbed for hockey. Sure. They have East Coast League team there that does tremendously well, a state-of-the-art building. Mm-hmm. To open that building up, the first act in that building was the Eagles. Wow. Think about it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:34 Eight to 10,000 seed building. Mm-hmm. The Eagles is not coming anywhere here. No. They're not coming to the dome. They're not coming to the landmark. They're not coming to the upstate mid arena. And I credit the county and the powers of Bita have done everything possible to update the facility as best as they can.
Starting point is 00:57:52 You know, kudos originally. You've made the most out of what you've got. They made the most, but, you know, the hallways are what they are. Right. You know, there are limited abilities for concessions. And they've done a great job. They've done a great job. An old facility, that's all.
Starting point is 00:58:07 It's an old, and when you look at what's happening in this market, and I've said this time and again, been coming up here 34 years now. I've never seen this many cranes, this much excitement and optimism. Right. And that's the key word. When I came here, everyone said,
Starting point is 00:58:22 you know, everyone here sees everything half empty, right? And the optimism and the fact that you've got a home run in Micron, and there were doubters, oh, they're never going to come. Still are doubters. The whole thing's torn up. People are coming down. You're going to add, what, about 45,000 jobs? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:40 You're going to be a huge influx of people. Somebody told me that with the people coming in, the families, that we may grow larger than Rochester inside. It's possible. And you look at that, and you've got to get people something, you know. And, okay, what are you to do with the old building? Well, you know, what we would contribute to it is we probably want to put a junior hockey team in there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Because right now there's so much talent. young talent in Syracuse, but where are they going? They're going to the Nexas Center in Yudega. They're going to Rochester to play. They're leaving the market. We want them to stay here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:15 And we need more ice, right? And that's an extra ice sheet. We're hoping with a new building, maybe you add a hotel to it. Okay. In the market, right? Yeah. Maybe an additional ice sheet.
Starting point is 00:59:24 So I think it's time that we continue the momentum in this market of thinking big. Now, then the question is, well, who's going to pay for it, right? Always, that's the first question or statement politicians make. Well, who pays for arenas now? I mean, who paid for Buffalo?
Starting point is 00:59:42 I mean, the state gave them an excess of $600 million. We feel this market has never had a big ask on facilities. Sure. Right? I mean, recently they gave $450 million for a much-needed new emergency center at our state medical. Much needed, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:00 They had offered to build a stadium years ago by the old mayor-minor turned down $350 million for a new outdoor stadium for the university. Oh, wow. That was turned down. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. It was public now. It's back then.
Starting point is 01:00:13 And so, you know, we think that between the state money, maybe some private influx of money, and then county, there's plenty to go around. And the arena will not only pay for itself, you know, add quality of life and probably make money. And it's a great public's works project could put people to work. I mean, I'm looking at all the people working on the Micron facility right now. Yeah. You get a lot of people some employment. And people look at us, well, it's the crunch.
Starting point is 01:00:42 Well, we're the main tenant. So who else would speak up for a new facility? For sure. You know, but, you know, again, we'll put in our, you know, 40 to hopefully 55 dates. But you need an anchor tenant in any facility, right? But you're looking at, you know, hopefully, S.U. Women's D-Won hockey. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:01:03 Look, what they play now. They're playing, you know, where do they play now? They're playing 10ies. It's Asian people. Okay. Why not get some women's D1 SU basketball games? Sure. That, you know, may look, you know, much better in the small facility than playing in front of 3,000 people in the dome.
Starting point is 01:01:23 You know, maybe, you know, we know we spoke to LaMoyne about the D1 programs, basketball. Right. And men and women's. Those are 40 dates alone. those two. You know, then you look at the 30, 25 to 30 concerts.
Starting point is 01:01:38 Now you go from a building that's maybe 70 to 75 events to 150, 170, 100 events. And one thing we've talked about a bunch in this studio, we're talking to Howard Dolgood
Starting point is 01:01:48 owner of Syracuse Crunch is we miss out on a lot of wrestling shows in this market because we just don't have a facility to satisfy. And right now, wrestling's hotter than it's ever been. AEW, WWW.
Starting point is 01:01:58 All came to town this year, but we need a better venue for that. 100%. That and even the rest of, high school tournaments. Sure. You know, I mean, this is the century part of the state. You know, I mean, it's just the easiest access for people,
Starting point is 01:02:14 Albany, Buffalo, and downstate to get to. So, you know, why not have a college hockey tournament here? Yes. Or even a college basketball, you know. Yep. Like they go to Hawaii, do it here. Do it here. A 14th tournament.
Starting point is 01:02:26 It's convenient and new facilities just do wonders from Arkansas. I've seen what it does. I mean, look, they're building a new facility. Cillian Mobile Alabama. They're going to New One in Augusta, Georgia. You know, he's got the new Bill's Stadium, right? They're going to over budget, but it's going to be so profitable in the long run. Well, let's talk about what's happening in the barn this season.
Starting point is 01:02:47 As a home opener tomorrow night, what do we like on the ice? What are we working on with the team? What are we going to see this season? Well, here's what I really like, and it's interesting. So, you know, Jeff Tambellini and Joe Bouchard are our co-GM. Julian Briswa is a jam of the lightning. And Jeff and I, you know, we talk fairly often. And what he said last year, said, you know, when we put the team together this year,
Starting point is 01:03:09 I want to make sure we have an Uber veteran presence. Last year we were chasing veterans at the end of the year. He said he believes having an extra veteran or two is a good problem to have. Guys get called up, guys get hurt. So right now, we actually have two extra veterans. You can only play six in every game. And it's a great problem to have because it gives Tampa more qualified call-up guys.
Starting point is 01:03:40 It gives the young guys an ability to come here play and develop. And the veterans, you know, we were very fortunate. One of the veterans, Janssen Harkins, who made the Lightning opening night roster actually played opening night for them. Oh, cool. And, you know, they had a couple injuries with Dominic James and with Yanni Gord.
Starting point is 01:04:00 And he just went away, it's clear waivers, he's playing tonight. Dominic James, who was injured and couldn't start the season of Tampa, was just sent down to play this weekend here to just get games in. And he's a non-vets. So, you know, we really like, Joel is extremely happy with what we did to do off-season. I went down to a bunch of the guys in the locker room, a lot of returning guys, a great core.
Starting point is 01:04:28 Yeah. And to a man, they said, we just have a great group of guys. Good. He said a lot of guys are back. We have great new guys, high character. And one even said, you know, it's interesting, we have a lot of guys who are either married or have significant others who are now living here. Raising their families here, yeah. And that it's probably the biggest group of what we call wives and girlfriends that we've ever had.
Starting point is 01:04:55 And that brings a whole kind of different atmosphere. It's really great. It's really great. And you can just sense it, even walking down to the training room yesterday, and seeing Dylan Duke and seeing Lucas Mercury and meeting some of the new guys, and you meet the new guys, and I've got Jim Sorosie next to me. And I always say to them kiddingly, because I know how well Jim treats him. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:16 I said to Callahan, one of our new defensemen, I said, how's this guy treating you? He's, oh, no. He said, I've never been treated anywhere where I played like I have here in the last. last two weeks. That's great. That's great to hear. And we know that, but it's great kidding around and asking the players who are new. Yeah. And because Jimmy is, you know, sometimes I say Jimmy, you know, go home. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's Sunday night. There's no game. Right. It's eight at night and you're doing something for somebody. Yeah. But it, you know what? It pays off. It does. It really does. I'm looking forward to just a wonderful season. Howard. Home opener tomorrow night.
Starting point is 01:05:57 Bell's senators come to town tomorrow night. Yeah. All right. If they're coming in early today, staying at the hotel. Hopefully they get their buses down there. It's going to be a little busier. Hopefully their toilet papers, single-pluses. Around the facility down there.
Starting point is 01:06:10 Oh, yes. What happened last night? Something happened last night. We had eaten dinner at New York. And when we left at around 8 o'clock, there were fire trucks. They were shutting down blocks. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:06:25 Fire trucks. I don't know. about a three or four block radius and I wonder if it was maybe a gas leak or... Oh, I don't know. I know they're getting very... The security's getting very tight over by you right now as they're looking for everything. Howard Dolgan, Syracuse Crunch,
Starting point is 01:06:39 open up at home tomorrow night. I have one more four packet tickets to give away. Text the word crunch to 315-364-109. And if I pick you, I will text you back or head to Syracusecunch.com for tickets and information. Howard, every great season. Thanks for coming in, man. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:06:56 for tuning into the show on K Rock. My name is Josh. That is Cody, and we are live in your ear holes. Free of charge. We don't cost any money, as we there's no subscription fee at all. And quite honest, you're lucky I'm even here at all
Starting point is 01:07:09 because right now the Oasis documentary is on Hulu, and I should be home watching that on full blast. Because he's mad for it. I'm mad for it, bro. He's mad for it. But instead of coming here, I do this stupid job. When I should be at home,
Starting point is 01:07:21 watching my oasis program. Oh, they closed down on my road for the president. Sorry, I can't. I take... I don't know how I'm going to make that pitch. I only take... Oh, sorry.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Sorry, I take all intersections between Hancock Airport and downtown Syracuse. I take all of those. It's closed. It's going to be... It's... Because either I'll do a fire pit tonight. I don't know if I'll do a fire pit because I really want to watch the Oasis Dock. But sometimes my wife and I will sit in our recliners and we'll watch a program together.
Starting point is 01:07:49 We'll do that. Do the... What? Do that after. Do the Oasis Firepit after. Roll your TV up by the window and do a fire pit, do... Pirate after you guys because she's, she's a normal person and goes to bed at a normal hour. So you're saying, that'll be like, well, probably 2 a.m.
Starting point is 01:08:05 But you know what I mean? But then when I keep, well, like, teenagers don't care. They don't care if you're doing a fire? I'm going to watch it at loud volume. Don't you have headphones? I want it to be over speakers. Is that weird? No.
Starting point is 01:08:16 I want to simulate what we saw at the IMAX theater the best I can. They're just going to care. Kids I don't care about, but. Dude, you know what? Do this. Pull this move. if you get a why that's so loud be like
Starting point is 01:08:27 because it's my goddamn house it's her house it's not my house no no no no the kids I know but it's I can say it's your mother's house well yeah she lets me live here your mother's not I can listen to it at any volume I want I already did my chores
Starting point is 01:08:41 or when she goes to bed and I like to tuck my wife in and give her a little hug and a smooch I can say I don't go why don't you go put your ear put your ear plug thingies in because I'm gonna be listening I'm gonna be
Starting point is 01:08:54 He's mad for it, man. So yeah, I'll be obnoxious about that tonight. Um, all right. I can't knock the hustle. It is illegal and people, uh, were screwed over. What's a good rule of thumb? Let me ask you this question. Speaking of marriages.
Starting point is 01:09:15 What's a good rule of thumb for any relationship, the timeline that you will give you. give them money for family members. No, meaning never. I would. If someone's like my sister's really sick, can we send her $5,000? Bro.
Starting point is 01:09:36 I need the $5,000. I'm just trying to think of situations. Even if, I mean, unless you're like well off. Yeah, if you've got the money, I guess. And maybe that's this case. I can see whatever, but like, bro. That's causing an issue.
Starting point is 01:09:57 Big Bang, it's tough out here, I can't be giving out money. It's causing an issue, I think regardless, if you're with someone a year or 20 years, if one of them goes,
Starting point is 01:10:08 I'm sending my brother $500. He needs for his cars. And I think everybody's like, well, hold on. $500? How many times in the past have you sent your brother $500? Right, yeah, that's probably
Starting point is 01:10:22 different situations. So this is a woman in Nevada. I did immediately say no. This is a woman in Nevada who married 12 different men to gamble money. So
Starting point is 01:10:36 follow along. This is going to be a documentary at some point. How do you marry 12 men? Fake IDs. She kept making different fake IDs and then she I don't know how you keep those relationships straight. Yeah, no, I'm sure it was just
Starting point is 01:10:50 like you married 12 separate guys. And the reason I asked about the family is because she'd marry these guys and then say she has a sick relative. Can we send them money? And then you go to the casino with the money. Oh, okay. Hustle. She lost it.
Starting point is 01:11:06 Oh. That's like, this is wild behavior. That's why I don't joke about gambling addictions because they're real too. Look at what, look at how far this person went. Like, just to gamble. It wasn't like this person was crazy and they're crazy turned into
Starting point is 01:11:22 a gambling thing. This was a gambling addiction. I don't know why it's just my cause, but everybody, maybe because I come from relatives who had gambling addictions, but it's like everybody talks about drug addiction or alcoholism or all these things. And then like there'll be a million ads
Starting point is 01:11:37 for casino apps on your phone and stuff, and I just don't like it. I know I'm a fuddy-duddy. Well, no, I hate that Chumba Casino gets ads all the regular things, including, and we've said this for forever, wrestlers are on commercials for it where like I forget who I heard someone saying that when I've got downtime yeah like that's you're being reckless and I'm a hypocrite because if they offered me money
Starting point is 01:12:02 to plug them I absolutely would take it yeah but we we always at least look at things first where it's like we're not gonna tell people that people develop serious gambling addictions and it's getting way too easy to gamble well someone I would give us a pass because we haven't been given the treatment that someone like Jimmy Fallon, Jason Mamoa, and the other guy that are in that Monopoly commercial where you know it's a scam. Yeah. You know it's a scam, but you willingly do these commercials to scam the people that have been your fans. Like you're only popular Jason Mauna because of people.
Starting point is 01:12:43 Yeah. You're not a widely personable great actor. You kind of suck. I'm just thankful. So to do that. My grandmother, I'm not thankful my grandmother's dead, but I'm thankful my Connie Nanny passed away before this was an option. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:59 Because if she could have just had her phone and download a casino app or a gambling app at home, it would have been destitute. I wonder about that lady that my dad lived with at the end. Yeah, spend all her money in the casino? She worked at the casino. And then when her shift was done, if it was payday, and every other day, but if it was payday, he wouldn't see her in. until the next day.
Starting point is 01:13:22 She would leave work and immediately stay there and gamble and sometimes lose her whole rent. Yeah, I hate that. All of it. I hate that. And now all these kids are coming out of high school addicted to gambling. Like I had to talk to my kid every day about gambling essentially. It's very...
Starting point is 01:13:36 Because he like him and his friends like to play poker. Very easy. And he likes to play on my draft kings. And I have to have a lecture every day about it because I go, A, first of all, in your DNA is addictive personalities. So always be aware of every substance and everything because you come from a family of addicts. But also, it's, it's, they, I know I sound like a broken record. They don't build these buildings by giving out money.
Starting point is 01:13:55 But no, that's, we say it, yes. Pay Kevin Hart by giving out money. Yes. No, there's the reason that that stupid monopoly app can afford. Yeah. Jimmy Fallon, Chase Momoa, and, well, it doesn't matter. Insert celebrity here that is okay with scamming its fans that have made them what they are. But no, because Jimmy Fallon would have gotten exactly where he is today if ever.
Starting point is 01:14:19 Everybody hated him. Right. So back to this story. As a woman who scammed 12 separate men, she's been sentenced to, I don't see the sentence, I'll get to it. Xiang Chen,
Starting point is 01:14:30 34, pled guilty in July to bigamy and obtaining money under false pretenses. She should have to, her punishment is staying married to all 12 women having to bounce around their life
Starting point is 01:14:42 with 12 different people. These poor guys were like, get her out of here. Also true, yeah. She used fake IDs and aliases to wed men, she met online, pushing for quick marriages before requesting cash for a supposedly ill relative. Police say the money instead fueled over $300,000 in gambling losses.
Starting point is 01:15:04 She was sentenced to two years probation. That's it. What? Plus, she's got to pay back the money. Which I do you ever. No. And mandatory gamblers anonymous meetings and counseling. She was the quintessential runaway bride, they said.
Starting point is 01:15:19 and the court one victim told the court her schemes left him unable to pay his employees. Yeah. Also, guys, fellas, don't be so stupid. A lot of honeypots out there
Starting point is 01:15:30 that are just coming for you for your money too. Yeah. Be a little suspicious. Yeah. Why do you want to get married so fast and then you need money all of a sudden? Yeah, worry about that.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Be a little suspicious. A little bit more than, you know, hot ladies. Yeah. But Twitch. Twitch. TV slash the show.
Starting point is 01:15:47 What? And then she marries the probation officer and I need $2,000 to pay these guys back. Yeah, no, you're never going to believe it. These guys, I owe all this money. If I could just get real hot at the casino tonight, you'll see. I got a sure thing on the racetrack. It's definitely
Starting point is 01:16:00 going to hit. The amount of times I got to tell my kid, nothing is definite. Nothing's for sure. Look at his stupid Cowboys last night. We did it, Friends. Touchdown. We made it to the end of the week. I don't know. If I'm going to make it through the next couple minutes, so we'll see. Those pumpkins are turned, but
Starting point is 01:16:16 we got to get them out of here. It's crazy, though, is I can't figure out where it's coming from. I'm a pumpkin. They look good, but they're just not. The insides must be rotted out. You are in danger. I don't have the video. We'll just listen to it really quick,
Starting point is 01:16:33 but you know how much we love Ghostbusters. Bill Murray's an Enrivian commercial right now. You know Rivian, those electric trucks that are really fancy, and I wish I had one. Yeah, I do like those. Those are nice. He's suited back up in his original Ghostbusters. Gimick for a new Rivian commercial.
Starting point is 01:16:51 Okay. He pulls up outside of a house in a Rivian with the Ghostbusters logo on the side and lures the green slimer out of the house to be captured. But Dill Fwit. I got an order for a Hawaiian pizza. I think you said something about no onions. It's little chunky. Got a little bit of an appetite, did we?
