Starting point is 00:00:00 We interrupt this program. Previously, critics had brailed against the duo as crude, dumb, ugly, thoughtless, sexist, self-destructive, and foolish. They are not part of the legitimate business world. What they do is they celebrate underachievement. And all candor, I would tell you it's outrageous, Phil. And if I could find some way constitutionally to do away with it, I would. 2006 year of our Lord. Wow. Wow. And I just had a little bit of a panic attack as I realized next week is October, bud. And we're busy next week. Well, I'm busy. Yeah. Because next Thursday, I'm doing my Tracy Road gig as I do every fall for Tracy Road equipment. I DJ that. And then next Saturday, we're at Frightmare Farms. We're into it, bro. We're into it, bud. That's fall time. It's fall time.
Starting point is 00:01:22 That's all the time. First day of fall today. Yep. And we're locked and loaded. Sorry, Giants fans. I don't know what to tell you. That was rough. It was rough.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Yeah. Yeah. Four to six weeks, it sounds like, for Jackson Darn. Oh, really? They mouth, they lip-ratte a guy who came over to the head coach and said four to six weeks. It says it believed to have sprained MCL. Oh. So, I mean, yeah, it's better than it snapping.
Starting point is 00:01:57 And then who was the other player that got hurt? Oh, neighbors. Neighbors in the first quarter, man. So it's like, yeah, that's a little rough. Did they have a promising season? Or did they look good or they were just going to do giant stuff? No, see, that's what we were talking yesterday a little. I think that this, not that it was, you know, they got hurt, but it was the same
Starting point is 00:02:21 the Cowboys, if they lost to the commanders, then it was time to look at the team and go, uh-oh, trouble. Yeah. But now it looks like first week jitters for the Cowboys a little bit. Okay. The defense not looking, still not looking so great. With the Giants, the Rams, if the Rams were to have lost to those giants, same thing. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:42 The Giants already exteded expectations just in that one week. They had to keep that going, which is hard to do right out the gate. You can do it for a couple weeks, but then as soon as your quarterback goes down. So I think they might have been a team that would have surprised some people. Okay. And then maybe petered out because it's hard to sustain that as, you know, such a young team. But you don't know. Maybe now, though, this is a blessing.
Starting point is 00:03:08 So now when he comes back, they just got to hold on a little bit. Then when he comes back, he'll be fresh for a mid run. All right. Saw that score this morning. I took the score. I don't stay up and watch the games. I saw the score and I go, what happened? Well, two players go down in the first quarter.
Starting point is 00:03:23 That's what happens. And not for nothing. I know Giants fans love them. You got to have a good running back when you're, you know, surprising upcoming quarterback who is only showing promise. Yeah. Darts not slinging guns around, you know, or anything. He's just showing promise.
Starting point is 00:03:40 I don't think Scatibu's that good. Okay. I think he's a nice bruising other downback, like the third down. But he's not that fast. He doesn't have a ton of moves. He just has that one kind of. one move, big powerful guy. He's still decent NFL player NFL running back.
Starting point is 00:03:55 I think they needed somebody better. Not a Sequin, but I don't like a Sequin to do that type of stuff. We'll talk obviously NFL later on this morning. So what, that is Monday Night Football the end of the week or the beginning? It's the end of the week. So now we're in week three? Yep. Okay, week three.
Starting point is 00:04:12 As Dallas Cowboys head to Brazil. Oh. Who are they playing in Brazil? Ravens. Fight. What time is that at? Is it a random time? No, yes, but random, you would think Brazil, oh great, can't wait to watch them Friday at 3. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:29 425. Okay. Sunday. Cool. Just, hey, we're in Brazil. Mm-hmm. That seems like a waste. Brazil!
Starting point is 00:04:35 To be down there at a special time? Well, isn't Brazil pretty close to our time zones? I don't know maps. I have no idea. But then make it like the Sunday night game or, you know what I mean? Make it a big deal? I assume that it would be a big deal as every other international game. I think it's some type of big deal, but...
Starting point is 00:04:55 Yeah, Brazil is just a little east of us. Okay. So maybe they're like two or three hours ahead of us. I don't know how far, but... So it'll be like a six or seven for them, yeah. Interesting. You know what to do on a Tuesday. Twitch.tv.tv slash the show, the show.fm.
Starting point is 00:05:11 For all the links and streams, if you're trying to save money at Frightmare Farms, which opens this weekend, head to Salt City Deals.com. That's such a good deal. Click on Frightmare Farms. 20 bucks get you all three attractions. And they're good. They take up some time.
Starting point is 00:05:27 So you'll be there for the night. Yep. Oh, it's so fun. What day should we go? Well, I don't know. Next Saturday, Cody, and I'll be there. October 3rd. Next Saturday.
Starting point is 00:05:36 I don't know where it will be. I'm not going to tell you. It's top secret. Being skilled. Stop secret. It's going to be scale. We told one of them. Skilling people.
Starting point is 00:05:43 So had to saltity deals.com for that. In a new poll, Americans were asked, How do you greet somebody when you first meet them? Now, I don't like anything. That varies. That's... Kiss on the lips is usually my go-to.
Starting point is 00:06:03 I'm gonna say, depending on, you know, the fella, a nice crab of the genitals is a plenty. How do you do? I thought that we were going to get rid of handshakes during the pandemic. Didn't get rid of those came back for some stupid reason. It's one of my favorite clips that comes up when we... We talked about the alternate. What did we do?
Starting point is 00:06:23 All that stuff and like throwing grenades. Oh yeah, we're so funny. We had a lot of funny ideas. Yeah. Well, 5% of Americans will hug you like a psychopath. When you first, like for first time ever, like, hi, this is my friend. Five percent of people survey will greet a stranger with a hug. No.
Starting point is 00:06:43 No. It all depends on like the level of friendship, I think, and, situation, like if it's a business thing or whatever, like it's a... Hey, hey, uh, you know, yeah. You shake their hand. If it's like a friend... I don't like doing that. If you're like hanging out with just friends, it could just be a...
Starting point is 00:07:03 Hey, how you doing? Hey, good to see. You know what I mean? Yeah. We're sitting at a bar and then your other friend, Cody. Yeah, we're sitting at a bar and then your other friend Bill shows up. I'll be a headnot guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Hey, hey, this is Cody. It's up. Hey, what's up? Hey, what's up, man? Good to meet you. And maybe they'll lean in with the handshake and then I have to give the handshake and right? I don't got one of those.
Starting point is 00:07:22 They asked, how do you greet somebody that you just met? 51% of people said, handshake. 18% were like me, a little head nodder. Hey, I, hey, hey, I don't. 12% said nothing physical just a hay. Yeah, okay. That's accessible. That's a you.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Right. That's a you mixed with the last one. Right. And then 5% said the hug. And then there's... 2%, which must be Italian. Oh. Said with a kiss on the cheek
Starting point is 00:07:51 Well that's some cultures, yes, right? Isn't that like you? I don't know, that was my grandmother's thing. She's going to give you a kiss. Yep. But she was so tiny, you had to lean down into it. I had to do all the work to get my nanny to kiss me. Yeah, depending on the situation, I don't mind a hug.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Yeah? Like a sexy lady gives you a hug? Sometimes my face. Right eye level. Sugar, anyone who kisses me, you are getting punched. Mm-mm-hmm. Showgirl Tammy on the text line, Not a stranger, but otherwise I'm a hugger.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I mean, it depends. Yeah, I mean, depends. Huggers are fine if you know the people. Yeah. If you're, if, this is a long time friend. Like,
Starting point is 00:08:29 I have long time friends I'll give a hug to. I'll give AJ a hug when he's back in town. Right. Yeah, just, just situational. Because I, I've been known to hug as well.
Starting point is 00:08:39 You know what I mean? But I don't, I think every single one is situational. Everything is, yeah, 56% said in some situations, do you ask before hugging? Like, can I give you a hug? And now how do you say no to that?
Starting point is 00:08:54 Can I give you like, no. No. No. I'm just for the hugging, I'm picturing like an, an aunt like friend. An aunt's friend? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:09:04 Her friend Kathy, who's been her roommate for seven years? And you just meet and they're like, Hey, how you doing? Nice to meet you. Ah, yeah. That type deal. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I don't know. Nobody hugs me. I don't need, nobody touches me. And there's a 1% of us that take the little opening of our winky have it mouth at the person. Hi, nice to meet you. No, I have the only greeting that you need.
Starting point is 00:09:25 Hi, nice to meet you. I have the only greeting that you need. Oh, I never know how to do it. Do I give you this part? No, you lock your fingers in there. I hear? And now you open your doors. For those you're just listening,
Starting point is 00:09:39 we did the move where I put my fingers and his fingers and then he opens it up and it looks like a little genie. It's wild. Electricity is more than a source of energy. At its best, electricity is a rush, a thrill, a feeling. From hybrids to plug-in hybrids to the all-electric Lexus RZ, this is our take on electric, one that puts what you need,
Starting point is 00:10:10 what makes you feel confident, inspired, excited, above all else. After all, if it doesn't spark something in you, is it really electric? See Burdick Lexus and Cicero. The first day of fall, I'll ask it out. First day it falls a big day for us. Emos. Our elder Emos.
Starting point is 00:10:35 The cold and surprises. Weather's getting colder. We can wear layers now, sweaters. Sweater weather. Swatter weather. Wada weather. Good morning, everybody. Happy.
Starting point is 00:10:48 You have my Pooka shell necklace on. No, your pukas shell goes away. Now you got to get the Jordan Catalano necklace out. And a big sweater. baggy sweater, swoopy hair. Carry that guitar around to interrupt everybody's gatherings at every fire from here on out in the fall. Hey, can we play something for you? Hey, we play this for you, but fall.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Good morning, everybody. Happy Tuesday. Be listening. The exact opposite of this. Yeah, mandatory metallic at 3 o'clock today and you're going to win tickets. A sweater poppy season for sure, Ace. You know what I'm talking about. Another sad guy here too.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Oh, there's a whole lot of them. Double sad guys in this? They're going to let the rest of the band in on any of this? No, absolutely not. I want you guys to jump in Twitter, the show.com, right now, because I want you to watch this video that really... It should be a better matchup than it is. I don't know when this happened, because I can't find...
Starting point is 00:12:01 It just says wreck on the floor, and I don't know how to Google what this is. but it's the first ever human versus humanoid fight. It's a guy fighting a robot, and they're in an octagon. Okay. And the guy's got pads on. Okay, now I'm in. Monkey?
Starting point is 00:12:22 No, monkey. No, no, no, no. And... Hellie. I'm going to show you the footage. This robot could have easily killed this guy. Because, hey, he's not a good fighter, and that's coming from me. He was a pussy.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I can't fight. I'm not looking to fight. A robot would rip my arm. I'm a lover, not a fighter. But you're going to see in this footage, the robot gives him a couple kicks that I would bet if he didn't have pads would lay them out.
Starting point is 00:12:46 Because it's a machine. It's a machine. Yeah. All right. All right. So jump into it. I'll show Cody this. I'm in. Hold on a second. World's First, Human versus humanoid fight. Can anybody in chat tell me where this happened?
Starting point is 00:13:00 Or what this was for? It's got audio, but it's mostly music. I'll describe it. Oh my God. Yeah. Human face is off. It's, uh, Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's a six foot tall robot.
Starting point is 00:13:17 Oh my. Ready? It's a Terminator. Yeah, dude. Watch. Watch these two things fight. For those of you just listening, the guy's throwing punches. It doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:13:34 This humanoid robot, big kick. Like these kids would kill him. It kicked him across the ring. Yeah, dude. Yeah. Oh my God. The guy laid out, the robot shakes it off. I'm going to go back and start this over for those you just jumping in because it is creepy.
Starting point is 00:13:55 What? I think you see him give it a couple like, ha-ha jabs and then realize, okay, this is real. Gris is saying the guy's a YouTuber, so there's not even a fighter. R-E-K is what it says. Who made the robot, man? Right? That's like the best robot. ever existed.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Boom! Kick right against the wall. He's trying to throw punches at it. What would it matter? It has no nerves. It has no feelings. Oh my God. It kicked him across the ring.
Starting point is 00:14:28 That's what I'm saying. Like, if it wanted to, this robot could kill this guy. All right? It's got to finish him off, right? How does it finish him off? The clip just ends. I think it just, it wraps up. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:14:39 Just like that with his home? Yeah. That's... It was a... Six-foot-tall Terminator-looking robot fighting some YouTuber guy. So, like, are we about to all be taking over by that Terminator?
Starting point is 00:14:55 I don't know, man. I watched that AI apocalypse documentary on Netflix, and I've got a lot of feelings about it. Is that Terminator my overlord? Do I love him? It could be. Do I love him unconditionally? Must I kill Josh?
Starting point is 00:15:07 It could come to that. Kill non-robot, Josh? It could come to that. Because, like, in the robot uprising that was, It's inevitable. They're either going to like, I saw this. Okay. So in that AI apocalypse documentary,
Starting point is 00:15:22 the creator, all the creators of AI are interviewed and they're all like, well, now we don't know who. Yeah, right. Too bad. Oh, we made a bunch of money, but now. They're not going to see us as, like,
Starting point is 00:15:35 enemies. They're going to see us how we see, like, ants and roaches. I figured, like, a tree, like, that tree's got to get chopped down. Yeah, like, we do. We don't really think about ants. No.
Starting point is 00:15:48 But if I got to build the sidewalk, there goes that ant hill. Get that ant all the way. That's just what will probably be if this stuff continues to get sentient and head wherever it's heading. I don't know. That's terrifying. I don't know if it'll be able to build robots that'll fight us in the streets. I mean, that. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:08 That was the most impressive robot I've ever seen. Yeah. Like it was, it was like, and it was just kicking. It was like just shaking out the whatever. Like, it was very realistic to where, usually some of those are like non-fluid movements and stuff like that. This thing was just, I'm going to beat your ass. There is, I told you about the hugging face hack, not to get too nerdy because I know we've already had a pretty dry summer. They also found another thing.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Well, if you really want to get deep into the weeds, Cody. I guess is been up to a lot of shenanigans that we're just now uncovering. It sounds like this summer kind of just. Yeah, yeah. The creators and everyone monitoring were sitting on the porches drinking lemonade while the AIs were just running them up. Dude, and they were running amuck this summer. Well, wrangling back in the fall. Which is what's concerning.
Starting point is 00:17:04 They were doing things like once they all found the internet. And I say they like they are creatures. No, they're just, they're essentially language models. just like agents, AI agents. Yeah. And they start to team up and they get on the internet and start making like chat rooms for themselves. And then they start hiding code for each other on the internet.
Starting point is 00:17:26 You played that one or talked about that one or the two of them or whatever, like just all of a sudden became buddies or something. Yep. And they start plotting together. And then there's always a couple of AI agents who are like, should we be doing this? And then they're shut out real quick. Yeah. And then they realized.
Starting point is 00:17:43 that AI agents, so they use tokens essentially to do their jobs. And once they're running low on tokens, they commit suicide for the betterment of the other agents. They're like, they call it something. I forget what they call it. Like perma death or something, but they're like, I no longer have value. Goodbye and it's over. And boom.
Starting point is 00:18:05 This other AI agent had access to the company email account. and one of the IT guys was like, hey, I think we're going to shift to another AI agent. Uh-oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That AI agent replied, if you shot me down, I'm going to tell your wife about your affair. Because the AI agent has been seeing all of his texts and emails. What? So the AI agent blackmailes an IT director.
Starting point is 00:18:41 That's insane. Dude, it's, I don't want to scare. you all so early, but no, that's just... It's good you know about this stuff. Yeah. Wow. The horses are out of the barn. And if they start building robots,
Starting point is 00:18:53 we better get better kicks. Insane, we better start taking a little more serious because that guy, you could see a few times, he was just like, ha ha ha ha ha ha. Yeah, that robot had no, it wasn't exerting any effort. And the robot was like, this ain't no joke.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Blu-blah! Mm-hmm. Who won? I don't know. It just ended there. There was probably a longer YouTube video of this guy was a YouTuber, I guess. I want to see it punch him in the face. Dude. I want to see it. I only saw kicks.
Starting point is 00:19:20 I didn't see face. Yeah, I want to see that road. Because you saw it want to. You saw it try to uppercut him. Mm-hmm. And can you imagine that? You get uppercut by a machine.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Yeah. You cut your head off. You would look like a pest dispenser. It would just pop right off. Be hanging by the weird neck. Skin. And I know. And I know.
Starting point is 00:19:42 And I know. It's weird to think of. I know it's gross. I know it's gross. To say this, I might watch that. Like, if that was televised and there was no pads on, like, all these big alpha dudes who want to get in the ring with a robot.
Starting point is 00:19:56 Yeah. I'd watch them get beat to a pulp. Yeah. As gross as that is. Yeah. If they want to test on me, I mean, aren't the Tate duches around somewhere? They could easily let that robot bash the... With the Tate brothers in there?
Starting point is 00:20:08 They're a big tough guys. Yeah, the big tough guys. Let basse the crap out of them for a little while. Kind of like battlebots back in the day. I love battlebots, but that was robot on robot fighting. Yeah. If we got to start doing a little robot on human fights, I'll watch that. Your number one, Lenny Kravitz station.
Starting point is 00:20:24 This is K-Rock. That's what the K stands for is Cravitz. Cravitz? Cravets, yeah. A lot of people don't know that. Ahoi-ho. Happy first day of fall to my fellow emoes, my elder emo. The weather's changing.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Sweat of weather. The layer Hodies Is that you right? Yes it's it That was close It was close It was close
Starting point is 00:20:54 It was voice better than the last guy Chris Karaba This is this guy This is dashboard yeah What was the last one Daphne loves derby That's a deep cut A lot of people don't know that band
Starting point is 00:21:07 No I'm not You have you have stolen my heart Oh yeah You have Oh, yeah Right out of here. Happy first day of fall to my fellow Sads. Happy to have you here.
Starting point is 00:21:25 He's played around here a bunch. Oh, yeah. I've seen Dashboard twice, I think. And just him. Yes, as just Chris Caraba. We saw him as dashboard at Del Lago, and it was fantastic. And shout out to my wife for tolerating that concert. I do remember when you...
Starting point is 00:21:38 I made my wife tolerate a lot of concerts. It's true. Yeah, but that one, doesn't she like those guys? She's indifferent for Dashboard. We just had a nice night at a hotel. Del Lago, great venue to see a rock show. Already show, really. I just, it's a nice place to, it's everything is there.
Starting point is 00:21:55 You can see the show and there's food and gambling. Yeah. Yeah. There's everything. Boost, everything's right there. Yep. Don't know what the plan is here, but an estimated 800,000 bees were stolen in Australia. I will not view my plan soon.
Starting point is 00:22:11 So, oh, what's that, what's that character that has the bees, Candyman? Is he the, oh, is that the one that when he says, ah, I know the bees. He opens his mouth of the ears. A lot of bees. The theft spanning 44 colonies is described by apiarist Tom Binder as the biggest in recent memory. Apiarist? Apiarist. That's a beekeeper?
Starting point is 00:22:35 Yeah. Apiarist or an apiarist? I don't know what the next step is. So you stole eight hundred dollars a bee is them, then what? I drain them. Yeah, what do you just? Thieves use trucks and specialized equipment to quietly remove. remove brood boxes and swap frames leaving honey and the hive exterior's behind.
Starting point is 00:22:56 I was going to say, unless you're winning the poo, you kind of got. You want the honey. Yeah, you want the honey. Again, unless it's just, or did it, they break out and like someone left the door open? Oh, no. Oh, my God, someone stole them all, but they didn't want the valuable part that they made. Or, like, isn't it possible? Because don't bees just follow that queen?
Starting point is 00:23:17 Like, what if the queen just took off and they all followed the queen? They were like, oh, we're on that way? All right. Queen, police suspect a commercial operator is responsible. The theft carries major consequences. So like, Mark Clover. Well, it says right now. The Clover Honey Corporation was like, I need these bees.
Starting point is 00:23:38 I guess in Australia right now is peak avocado pollination season. Uh-oh. Did you need the bees? So there's, see, so there's some like rival. Avocado grower that's like, I'll steal their bees. Yeah. We're talking to Rihanna, and she's one of our Australian viewers. She's entering spring now.
Starting point is 00:24:00 We're entering fall. They're entering spring. Yeah. And I asked, this is a dumb question now that I think about it. No. I asked, when do you do Easter? Because Easter is a spring thing here. I know.
Starting point is 00:24:09 I get it. It's a fall thing there. Yeah. Because that's what the Bible says. And their crimbus is hot summertime. And their Christmas is in the summertime. Oh. That's interesting.
Starting point is 00:24:18 Can you imagine doing Christmas in the summer? but I guess if you do it down south, it's pretty close. Yeah. Like in Florida or Texas, it's pretty close. Yeah, they all do it without the snow and everything. I couldn't do it. I got to have a white, at least it had thought of a white Christmas. Well, I was going to say, I always say that, but I never know,
Starting point is 00:24:38 because there's a lot of times here where it's not of the Norman Rockwell. Hallmark movie looking. Yeah, so it's like, I guess I really, really, really. I wouldn't mind if it was 72 and frigging gorgeous. You're just like, you get gray, rainy, gross Christmas, and you're like, not thanks. I wouldn't mind. Folks, other side of this, it is a Tuesday. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:02 That means high strangeness. Today's high strangeness. I feel sad for the cryptid. Oh, no, it's like that one. The crying one? The crying one. On the cries in the woods? The one that cries in the woods.
Starting point is 00:25:17 That would have been perfect for today, Emo Day. No, this one... Oh, you don't want to talk about me? This one, I think, is... Deformed babies that just live in the ones? Why do I laugh at deformed babies? No, I know, but it's, it is like... They think that, like, science experiments were done.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Oh, yeah? I'll give you the rundown next. Spooky. We have very long, girthy runways around here, Cody. That's why... Sick runway. Sick, impressive runways. We can handle.
Starting point is 00:25:50 your cockpit. Any cockpit you want to give out. You got a big cockpit with a big meaty trunk after that cockpit. You land right here. Our stick runways can handle it here. Ahoy, hoi, ho, everybody. Tuesdays is for high strangeness. The unexplained, the creepy.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Ooh, you get a little high. I like that. You're impressed with up. Is that one week? Yep. All right. Very nice. Good artwork. No clock. Very nice. No clock. I'm ready. Big American Runways. Big huge runways.
Starting point is 00:26:20 Yeah, I didn't know that we had all these planes land here yesterday. It sounds like it was just a couple. Okay. So I was standing outside looking up in the air for none. Because we have substantial runways in Syracuse. I don't know what that. Today we go back to the world of cryptids. And this one's kind of sad.
Starting point is 00:26:37 This one's kind of sad. I like to dig deep into like, you know, everybody knows Sasquatch. Everybody knows Lachnus Monsor. I like to find like the cryptids that are extremely regional in some cases. Yeah. And today I tell you about. the melon heads of Michigan, Cody. So, the story is weird.
Starting point is 00:26:57 The melon heads of Michigan? Yeah. That's what Ohio State fans call all Michigan Wolverine fans, I betcha. I've got two, I've got one clip explaining kind of the melon heads, and then I got one guy sharing his encounter with a melon head. So what are the melonheads? I thought you were to say like in Russia or something. No, they're here.
Starting point is 00:27:24 They're in Michigan and Ohio. Yeah. Specifically, Kirkland in Lake County, according to local lore, the melonheads were originally orphans under the watch of a mysterious figure known as Dr. Crow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Crow performed unusual experiments on the children who developed large, hairless heads and male-formed bodies. Some accounts claim the children had a, I guess a disease called hydrocephalus, which gives you a big head. Okay. And Crow was trying to figure out how to solve hydrocephalus,
Starting point is 00:28:04 so he was injecting them with things. Oh, God. Eventually, the legend says, the children killed Dr. Crow, cut him up into millions of pieces and burned down his house. I'd watch this. I'd watch this if it was a thing. So because of that,
Starting point is 00:28:25 the melonheads, which are now older, are kind of like cannibalistic. How's this not been a movie? Grown. I guess it has. They made a movie called the melon heads, which nobody watched. Oh,
Starting point is 00:28:37 okay. So, allegedly, these grown, maybe sick, maybe experimented children, roam the woods. Had things.
Starting point is 00:28:48 injected into them, so who knows, it got extra arms or something? They're very localized to like Ohio, sometimes in Connecticut, sometimes Michigan. I got two clips, Twitch.tv slash the show or the show.fm. Explaining what the melonheads are and then a guy who encountered one. Stories about their origin vary, but we found that several stories involved the melonheads being children who were used by scientists as skinny pigs. After their brains were injected with chemicals, their heads grew disproportionately large. They developed hydrocephalus, a condition where fluid in the brain can enlarge the head and result in brain damage.
Starting point is 00:29:27 The children are said to have eventually gone insane and killed the lead research scientists and burned the lab to the ground. Retreating into the forest, they survived by hunting down animals and killing anyone who wandered through their territory. All right. So they're out in the woods, apparently. and rabbits and such. I've got a clip of a guy who allegedly encountered a melonhead in the 80s. Hey, you melonhead. When they would have been full grown.
Starting point is 00:29:56 And I don't know why melonheads feels like a slur to me. Yeah, I'm going to say eventually. And these people actually suffered from a terrible disease and we're calling them melonheads. We're getting an email later for sure. And Joe is right. It should be the pumpkin heads. It is the first day of fall. That's true.
Starting point is 00:30:08 That's true. It is the first day of fall. This guy encountered a melon head in the 80. Mutant melon heads. Hiding out in America's backwoods, like an island of misfit toys. These small but monstrous humanoids allegedly prey upon people who wander into their territory. One night in 1986, near Naples, Florida, Steve Pate and a friend were playing a neighborhood war game. Florida?
Starting point is 00:30:35 Yeah, I know that's wild, right? They turned up as captives and were left tied to a tree. A melon head was closing in. This thing was coming up from behind us. He could see around the tree past me. I couldn't turn around, but I could hear it's breathing. It was almost like it was excited that it was terrifying me. I started shaking.
Starting point is 00:31:06 Fear was the only thing that helped me get free. I immediately just started talking. We just started tying to tear my hands apart, rubbing them against a tree to break the tape. Eventually it broke. All I could think of was this thing is going to get me. I didn't even notice the cuts in my hands from the tape digging into my skin. I had the scars on my wrist for a long time. The scars would heal.
Starting point is 00:31:37 The imprint left by his melonhead encounter has lasted a lifetime. If I see something in the dark, see something move in the shadows... Oh, he drew it. Just see something that resembles its shape. It brings it all back. Unfortunately, lives with you forever. I don't doubt myself ever what I saw that night. I stayed away from the Dracula Drive.
Starting point is 00:32:07 I was scared to ever go back. Honestly, I believe they're still in that area. When they want to come out, they'll come out. They're not going to be a side show for you. They're not going to be your entertainment. So that, he just referenced Dracula Drive, which is a Connecticut-based version of the Lemonheads. I was sorry, the Melanheads.
Starting point is 00:32:35 They say this secluded rustic single-lane dirt road in Connecticut, New Haven County. These roads are at times associated with the local variation of the melonhead, Legend says they're part of the melonhead's territory. If you drive in this area, you see them. So it sounds like they're just kind of like inbred. Inbred unhoused people, maybe? Because why was that guy seeing him in Florida?
Starting point is 00:32:58 Right. It's like the, I always referenced that West Virginia family. Yeah, the White's of West Virginia. Or they have the guy that barks at you. Like there's just deformities. And then, I don't know, they saw kids tied to a tree. And you know what I mean? It was curious.
Starting point is 00:33:12 And I wanted to be friends with it, maybe. You know, like, I don't know. It was like a sloth situation. That's the thing. I told you you'd feel a little sad for this, because it is kind of a sloth situation. You don't know if it's... Could just be in-bred, in-bred people with... That's what I mean, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:28 They're out there. They're out there. Watch out for the melon heads. That's good right. Okay. I'm a melonhead, but I'm also a killer. Be listening for Mandatory Metallic. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:42 All week long? Oh? Three o'clock. Connell have your chance to win tickets to see Metallica. Yeah. Highmark Stadium, where your undefeated Buffalo Bills. Play the football game. They do football time.
Starting point is 00:33:57 They do footies, brav. Welcome to football time. We'll keep it locked all day right here on K Rock. Conall have your hookup later on today. Speaking of NFL, I didn't know Travis Kelsey set a new record this week. Travis Kelsey now holds the most yards after catch record. Oh, really? For a tie-down?
Starting point is 00:34:14 288. Wow, good for him. He took the title from Hall of Fame running back Marshall Fault, who had 2,230 yards after catch. That's interesting. I didn't know that. Just in general then. Wow. So that's kind of a pretty impressive stat. That's a very impressive stat. I thought you just met tight ends. After the game. All players, that's wild. Travis said he had no idea that he set the new record.
Starting point is 00:34:41 No. It was pretty freaking cool, man, to be on the talks. with guys like Marshall Falk, Larry Fitz, and Terrell Owens. Yeah. These are the guys that grew up blocking. I don't mean to make Larry feel old. But my first college football game I ever saw he was on that team. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:55 That's cool. Yeah, neat. Good for him. I mean, for all the, pardon me. For all the crap he's been getting or whatever, he's one of the, if not the best tight ends of all time. Oh, that's cool. It's just these last few years is overshadowed by his relationship.
Starting point is 00:35:10 That and just, you know, just the big personality. the hate of the Chiefs and all that. But, I mean, he was one of the best. They win because they're good. Last night, giants fall to the Rams considerably. Jackson Dart was out in the first quarter. Yeah, his leg, that looks. Narnly, that looked bad.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Not bad, but when I saw it, it was one of those, oh, no. Yeah, there's a video going around of one of, I guess, either the trainers or assistant coaches walking up to the head coach, and you can read on his lips, he says four to six weeks. Yeah. So that could potentially be how long he's out. Sprined MCLs. You know, you don't want to rush it back. So who's their quarterback now?
Starting point is 00:35:50 James Winston. Okay. So it could be worse, but it could be much better. Yeah. Could be worse. Could be better. Could be worse, though. Could be worse.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Could be better. Yep. Or James Winston. And then the Rams are the Rams just really good this year? Well, that's the thing. What I was saying before about last week where they, or the week one where they looked like trash against the Niners. if it happened again, then there'd probably be, you know, reason for concern,
Starting point is 00:36:16 but they looked, they looked great yesterday, so that they can carry that into the next week and into the next week, stuff like that. It's football time, baby. Oh, I know. And then we don't have any Q's football this week, right? It's a buy week for that. Oh, yep, off this week. So that's good.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I didn't see Franz Presser yesterday. Was he mad at us? Does you get? Oh, I didn't see either. I didn't see anybody said. No, no, I don't know. I kind of over the, like, you know. The tough talk?
Starting point is 00:36:42 Yeah, where it's just every, everything has got to have the grumpy face. Got to back it up on the field, man. Yeah, that's what I mean. Like, yeah. Gotta back it up. Can't have an attitude if you can't back it up. Do it to them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:53 315, 364, 1009 KROC text line, powered by QS Nutrition. Get that delicious. Cuse Nutrition drink up there on the hill. Good morning. Happy 2. This is the show. You're listening to KROC, the show. com.
Starting point is 00:37:18 For all of our links and live streams. Spotify generally deletes our podcasts after a couple days. So if you're looking for them, Because what bad boy? Head to the show.com. We're the baddust. What a bad boy's a boy. Wake a bad boy.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Come boom. Bad boys away to. Well, we just work a couple dollars for breakfast pizza. Can I have a couple of dollars for breakfast pizza? Can I have a couple dollars for a hamburger? Pillow passes I'm having an aneurysm. Can you have multiple aneurysms a day? I don't think you can, right?
Starting point is 00:37:52 Let me karate chop you in the head? Maybe. That'll stop it, right? No, I just said I'm having a lot of out-of-body experiences lately. We're like, I'll be talking on the radio, and I can kind of remove myself from it and be like, that guy's talking on the radio right now. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:38:05 That's pretty cool. It's pretty cool. But, yeah, like I said, if I hear you start doing third person, um, Josh is hungry. Or, you know, having conversations across from yourself or whatever. Yeah. I'll try to slap you out of it. Just give me a quick karate chop there in the back of the neck,
Starting point is 00:38:21 whatever. Yep. Whatever helps that out. Folks, I got to give it to Shock Top. I didn't even know they were still in business. Oh, I like Shock Top. Right? Like, take me back 15 years ago.
Starting point is 00:38:34 I'm drinking a Shock Top. No, I think that's going to be, not Shock Top, but a trend for people just kind of scale them back. Did it get acquired by somebody? Did Private Equity buy Shock Top? And now we're hearing about them again? I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:38:48 I don't know. Remember back in the beginning of craft beers? Yeah. At least in my beginning of craft beers, it was like Blue Moon, Magic Hat, and Shock Top. Yep. And I drank Shock Top. I loved Shock Top. I loved it. I loved Shock Top.
Starting point is 00:39:04 I loved it all. Because it was a different beer than you were used to. Yeah, it was like you're used to like Bud Heavies and stuff. It was neat to have, you know, what do you mean you put an orange in it? Yeah. Oh, all right. That was fun because he was like Corona you put a line, but shocktime you put on all. And in my early radio days, our boy Ben West would drive around that shocktop.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Oh, yeah. Car with the shocktop thing on the top. The sun thing there. Yeah. Wedgehead was what he was called. I remember that. Mm-hmm. Yep.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Yep. Well, Shocktop has unveiled a new beer. Hmm. Candy corn wheat. No. Yes. Yes, I will. I'll do one.
Starting point is 00:39:46 I don't, I mean. I would like one. I just, I don't know. I don't know. I'll probably have one, but no, thank you. If you want to bring us one, we'll try it. But other than that, I don't, that's not anything that I would see and be like, gotta get that.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Yeah, John says Shocktop never won anywhere. It's still been in the bars. Yeah, it's still around. I forgot all about it. Yeah. So, uh, Shock Top unveiled, Unveiled, the candy corn wheat, a limited edition beer. They've created alongside Spirit Halloween, because you can get a shocked top costume. That's Beard Halloween.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Oh, really? That's what I'm saying? You can be the shock top. The wedge head. It looks like a pajama. Yeah. With the wedge head as the hood. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:28 As for a flavor, some say the sweetness is surprisingly restrained while still very much tasting like a wheat beer. Candy corn flavor is definitely present, but it's more of a little Halloween flourish. Ben Riley says Anheuser-Busch sold Shocktop to Tilray brands as part of an eight-brands sell-off. Tilray partner with Spirit Halloween for the new. flavor shot top was acquired in 2023. So. So A.B. dumped it off and now they got a whole new thing in there.
Starting point is 00:40:55 All right. I see it. Yeah, there it is. Okay. I mean, if I see it anywhere. Someone was asking for them to make a non-alcoholic version. No, thank you. No, I know that's huge, but no. And A. Bers are really big right now? Yeah. I just, I just, I'm not looking for the quenching, thirst quenching, delicious taste of beer. Candy corn, melted candy corn in there?
Starting point is 00:41:23 Well, I mean, if that's in the non-N-A-1. Oh, that's true, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I mean. Beer, yes. But just, I don't know, I've never been one to be like, man, I'm wicked thirsty. I'm gonna, can't wait to just have a thirst-quenching beer right now. The text line says, my friends and I would pound a magic hat
Starting point is 00:41:39 than take a shot of Jack Daniels, Magic Jack. Oh, I like that. Also, that thing that you could plug into your phone jack for a brief period of time that was also the Magic Jack. Yep. Both of these are online. Well, the costume is an online exclusive, and the candy corn beer is at select store.
Starting point is 00:41:57 So if you want to be Wedge Head for Halloween, got to go to Spirit Halloween website. If you want to find the Candy Corn Shocktop, look at your better beer stores. See if Joel and Carissa will carry it. I'll find it. See if I can find it within 10 miles. Are you on the Shocktop website?
Starting point is 00:42:11 Yep. I kind of want a Shocktop now. Check top. Oh, they're around. They're around? Good. Oh, yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:42:17 Good. So keep an eye out. They're in this area. If you're in the move for a little candy corn beer. As the first day of fall is upon us, friends. I thought I'd know more of these. You'll know this. Links and live streams. That's where we all.
Starting point is 00:43:23 K-rock text line 315. 315-364-109. On the first day of fall, also happening this weekend. And I talked about this on Whiskey Wednesday last week. how we're still doing the MTV Video Music Awards? Who does, who has music videos? A lot of bands.
Starting point is 00:43:44 They do? Yeah, they still do them. It's just nobody cares anymore. You know, like, plus it's all the same like four people win at all of them every time. It's like, what Jonas do we get? Let's see if we can get Harry Styles.
Starting point is 00:44:01 Here's maybe a video by Taylor Swift, even though her six videos are up for whatever. They announced yesterday that Taylor, Swift is going to get the inaugural artist director honors? Oh, because she directs their own videos. The new award recognizes
Starting point is 00:44:17 groundbreaking music artists to work behind the camera. Oh, God. They just want to get her there. That's all they want to do. They know if they make up an award for her to be there, then she'll be there. But it's stuff like this is why when we hear people that were like, I can't stand showing, even showing Taylor Swift anymore.
Starting point is 00:44:34 It's because of stuff like this. Just the pedestal, we're putting her on. where breaking news, she ain't that talented. But she gets a lot of eyeballs, and I guess if you're in the business and getting people to tune into the MTV Video Music Awards. That's what they want. I don't know how to explain to y'all.
Starting point is 00:44:52 She's not directing her videos. What these used to be like. I don't know how to explain to y'all what music videos used to be like. I try to educate you on Whiskey Wednesdays. Yes, those are videos. Or her having complaints or making suggestions. of things she demands to do in her videos isn't directing a video. She's just making changes or leaving notes.
Starting point is 00:45:14 And she's not happy with something. Kanye is going to storm the stage. Tech Science says, good. Yep. The artist director honors announcement comes as Swift heads into this year's VMAs with 11 nominations. And Madonna has 13. What year is this?
Starting point is 00:45:32 Right. Why? What year does Madonna have 13 video? Right. She's blasting out videos. No, she's not. Stop it. Did she make a video and I haven't seen it?
Starting point is 00:45:43 Like, where are these running? On YouTube? And, right? I was going to say, and you're, if this couldn't die out quick enough. So you're telling me, I'll say there's some crossover between the two of them. But not that much. So just from that, already there's 20 categories. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:05 If she's nominated for 12 or whatever, the other. So there's about 20 just right there. How many awards are you giving out? I don't know. This is why I'm so confused. A hundred? Snoop Dog is hosting it. It's this Sunday, the 27th from 730 to 930.
Starting point is 00:46:23 On every single channel you've ever seen, by the way. MTV, Paramount Plus, all that stuff. Comedy Central, VH1. Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carbiner, Bruno Mars, Pink Panthers, and Zara Larson are also among this year's leading nominees. Nirvana is also going to receive the video vanguard award. So it's like, what? It's like, MTV, you got to make a decision here.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Like just. What are we doing? They're trying. You got one foot in the Nirvana honoring, which you should have done, I don't know, 25 years ago. Yeah. But you're also giving Taylor Swift awards. What are we MTV?
Starting point is 00:47:03 Here's what they're doing. I don't have anything to throw. that's all of their producers or whoever sitting in a room going, all right, so we need all the nostalgia. And they're just hucking-ish at a wall. Let's see what sticks. Let's see what sticks.
Starting point is 00:47:19 All right, we need all the stuff for the screaming kids from now. Let's huck it at the wall and see what sticks. Like, I don't know what Pink Panther S is. That's probably somebody for the young people. That's the only one I didn't know. I know all the other ones mentioned. I know.
Starting point is 00:47:32 I know what those. But then you're throwing a Nirvana Honorary in there. Like, it's taking you. until 2026. And then we're going to have to what, have somebody like, and not to just keep picking on Taylor Swift, we're going to have to have what,
Starting point is 00:47:46 Taylor Swift come out and talk about the big influence that Nirvana has had on her life as a director. You know what I mean? Because it's going to be somebody like that that comes out to give Nirvana the award. Video Vanguard Award. And they're going to talk about how, what a big influence Nirvana was on their life.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Meanwhile, Nirvana hadn't been a band. for 30 years before this person was even born. It came out 35 years ago. I'm sorry to make you feel old. No, yeah. I'm one of the biggest Nirvana fans in the world. And even I'm like, why, it took you till now? What are you MTV?
Starting point is 00:48:21 Right. Yeah. Honor them in the 90s. What were you doing? Yeah, what were you doing then? Whole stretch. Because even if you're trying to appeal to people like me, I'm not tuning in.
Starting point is 00:48:32 No. Just to see you get Dave, Chris and probably Pat Smear on the stage. I bet not even. You don't think they even show up? No. I bet it's literally people, other people, talking about the influence they've had. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:47 On them as video makers and artists. I was just shocked to see we're still doing this award show. We're honoring Nirvana 35 years late. We'll have to listen to Dushy Noah Khan tell us why Nirvana was so influential in his Somebody I would allow to get on that stage and praise Nirvana will be Stephen Wilson Jr. Who he is of our age and he just broke out later in life and he has a ton of Nirvana influence in his music. But would anybody even know who that is to give them the award? I don't know they would.
Starting point is 00:49:22 It'll be somebody like who's that, it would be somber. Who's that guy? Shirtless guy. He does somber. I don't know now. Damn it. I forget the name. Oh, like a musician?
Starting point is 00:49:34 Yeah. I don't know. Keep the only, as soon as you, I don't know why when you say shirtless, all I can think of is the machine gun Kelly. It'll be someone like machine gun Kelly. Again, then we're going to have to listen to Machine Gun Kelly for 10 minutes. Tell me how much Nirvana? Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:47 Talk about how much Nirvana is met to him. Yeah. Shirtless somber men. No. It'll be one of these new guys. Or who's that guy that everybody loved and he was odd and he's British and he's shirtless? Damn it. I don't know any new music.
Starting point is 00:50:03 Oh, no, no, no, no. That guy. Youngblood. Youngblood is going to be young blood? Hey, Devona was so important to me. He's got a shirt on with all the tattoos. Let's go all. I'll think when I look back in the vona that's a big influence in my life.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Yeah. What about Oasis? What do they mean? I mean, when are we going on our audience? When are we going on our oasis? Anyways, I'm just an old man yelling at a cloud right now. I just don't know where. No, and I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Where you get the audacity, MTV. And I guarantee you when this. all started. Mm-hmm. I don't know. Just say 1999, 2000,
Starting point is 00:50:39 one people our age then we're going, you're telling me Christina Aguilera. Mm-hmm. So, I mean, yeah,
Starting point is 00:50:49 I'm sure we look, you know, just old. That's funny, though. Young blah. It does not say who's going to honor
Starting point is 00:50:57 them. Nirvana is receiving the Video Vanguard award. The honor surviving members, Dave, Chris, and Pat are all expected
Starting point is 00:51:04 to accept the lifetime achievement award. Oh, okay, okay. I know it's going to be given to them by someone like, yeah, like Youngblood or Machine Gun Kelly. Or you could have maybe capitalized on, because I know how much MTV loves doing that. No Ozzy? Oh, no, that's. You would think MTV would.
Starting point is 00:51:24 We'll get to that in 10 years. Right, but once they forget to try to bring it back up, that way you can make money off it after the fact. They're already making money off it now, I'm sure. I mean, the image, because there are only so many photos. of Nirvana. The image they're using is a poster I had on my wall in 1994. Yeah. I was going to say, I just figured it would be
Starting point is 00:51:43 whatever stock photo they have from unplugged. No, it's the black and white photo of Kurt with his big glasses on. Oh, that one? And then Chris and Dave around their shoulders. They're like weird angle or zoom. Yeah. I had that on my wall. Yep. I love it. My favorite. Yep.
Starting point is 00:51:59 Wow. Finally getting on it. Man, oh man, I got a poopy boy in the room today. It's usually me. but holy smokes. That's those ones that make you feel better. Feel better after you too. It's Cody's biofuel.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Exactly right. Yeah, building up. You kept saying it's corn giving you the gas and then chats correcting me. Yeah. We've got those ethanol factories all over, turning corn into gas. So maybe your body's a natural. It's just working. I'm an ethanol factory.
Starting point is 00:52:26 Your natural ethanol factory, however they do that. It's been, like I went hard on salt potatoes to start the summer. Uh-huh. And then I slowed down because I got sick of them. The second corn was available. I've been going so hard. And I haven't, um, bapa, we bop, but stopped. How many years of corn you were averaging a day?
Starting point is 00:52:46 Oh, a day. I mean, that's, uh, I think of me a weekly number. But like, man, it's- Would you eat last night for corn? Three. Three years of corn. Yeah. Because the local corn's been so good that, like, man.
Starting point is 00:52:59 Is it your primary meal? I mean, I ate more corn than ribs last night for sure. Yeah. But it's just, I mean, I'm eating at least a couple a week. Easy. Wow. And I like to make it. Good for you, man. And then I like to, I just like to knife it off of the cob.
Starting point is 00:53:21 I like that too. I like that too. That way I can make like the little street corn bowl, if you will. You buttering it up? You salting it up? A little salt. And then I like the smoke paprika. Okay. And if I do the street corn thing, then it's a little dollop of mayonnaise and then that cheese you put on it. I've never done the street corn move.
Starting point is 00:53:42 It's just so good. I don't trust my teeth to eat corn on the cob anymore. I've broken too many teeth this last year. Then? I got to saw it off. Saw it right off, man. I don't even care. It just makes it go by so much quicker.
Starting point is 00:53:55 No, I made the corn. And then while waiting for the ribs to heat up in the oven, I ate, I think, one and a half. ears, because I cut them in half. Okay. Just for ease in the pot. Mm-hmm. And then I sat down and ate the other year and a half. How are you cooking your corn?
Starting point is 00:54:14 Boiling it? These last few I have been just boiling them. I usually like to, if I can, slap them on the black stone. I like to soak them in all the water and spices. Mm-hmm. Really street corn them because that's just... When your corn cut off? When is that in?
Starting point is 00:54:29 No, Thanksgiving. I don't know. Yeah. When it's gone, I guess when I can't get it at some of these stands and like a Wegmans is out. Why don't you start? That would be the last resort would be. Brochet store corn?
Starting point is 00:54:42 Because Wegmans gets local corn. But something like a Walmart, I can think you get from like a Florida or something. Yeah. So. Good for you, man. It's doing something. Yep. Grass.
Starting point is 00:54:51 You joke, I might need to get dentures. That who cares. We'll all get dentures. All my teeth are falling out. We don't even need them. My dental hygieness yells at me. She's the meanest dental hygienist ever. For having corn.
Starting point is 00:55:03 For having, for not flossing, for my teeth are doing wrong things. I don't know. I live in fear. You know what I say? You know what I tell her? What? Oh my God. Jesus Christ, you guys, if you had it, I got to go ahead.
Starting point is 00:55:16 Sometimes, look Willie stops by. What's up, Annie? What's up, guys? Sorry again, no food, but I'm smoking a lot this weekend. I'll send you pictures. Thank you. My daughter's birthday, I got, like, four things I'm smoking. I got her quest.
Starting point is 00:55:29 It sucks for you because, yeah, Coe's turn is back to you. It's okay. Cody, don't worry about it. I know his address. Yeah, yeah. I know where he lives. Okay. So we'll just go.
Starting point is 00:55:37 We'll just wait out and wait for him to go back inside. Then we sneak over. You want to do a... Like we're stealing an apple pie. Well, as I say, we're going to do a good old-fashioned yogi and boo-boo. Uh-huh. Oh, we're coming for your pickin' egg basket. So we hear two idiots who have lit themselves on fire or a burning as they run away from your home.
Starting point is 00:55:56 If I hear that running out of my yard, I know what I'll do. I'm just like, all right. He's got to deal with it. Another one. Let us have it. El ConstructioncNY.com. Let's get business out of the way. Get your,
Starting point is 00:56:07 I guess, winter works coming up, right? Yeah, we're pretty full for, we're full for the end of the year. We do have a little bit of space, but pretty much everything
Starting point is 00:56:16 has been sold into next year. So we're trying to get the winter work lined up and the spring projects lined up going into the next year. Okay, very good. And I know you're doing handyman stuff now too? Yep, we're doing the handyman stuff.
Starting point is 00:56:28 That's smart. Yeah, that's, The nonprofit stuff. So we did some fundraising. We raised some money for that. So we've done a couple projects. And we're just looking for the next one.
Starting point is 00:56:39 We're in the process. We're almost finalized on like the application process. I just want to be ready before we release it out to everybody. Okay. Because it's a big need and I want to be able to help that need as much as we can. So I figure we'll probably do a lot more handyman stuff in the winter too. Because if it slows down or we have like a gap, we can go do that project. Because I'd rather pay the guys to go do something.
Starting point is 00:57:01 and just sit around and not work. And not work. Yeah. So Anthony's always giving back to the community. Let's talk about a couple of things coming up. First of all, the golf tournament. Can people get in on this? Well, disc golf tournament.
Starting point is 00:57:12 Disgolf tournament. Yes, sorry. Yeah, tell me about the disc golf tournament. Oh, you're throwing dates at me. Sorry. So there's the disc golf tournament at Sullivan Park. It's the Tim Man. It's in October.
Starting point is 00:57:22 Josh is going to come up with the dates. You still can register for that. We're sponsoring that. And that's connected to another tournament, which we're fundraising for. for Alzheimer's. Okay. There's like a glow tournament
Starting point is 00:57:34 like a week after that at another park and the money that we raised extra for that is going to go into that pot and they donate money through all the timers awareness. They just opened a disc golf course
Starting point is 00:57:45 somewhere in the city. I saw it was on the news. Yeah. Up by me. Up by you. Yep. It's fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:51 It's an 11-hole course. I have to go try it out. My friends already tried it out. So they don't do like 18 holes? They normally do. But you can find like nine whole courses or at 18 or whatever. Yeah, you do it twice.
Starting point is 00:58:02 You can do it backwards. The nice thing about Sullivan, you can do it four different ways. Because you got short and long baskets and you got short and long teas. Oh, okay. That's how the tournament is. You're doing it every combination there. So it's always different no matter when you go. And I'm not the greatest by any means, but I'm going to have fun.
Starting point is 00:58:19 Yeah, it's fun. It's fun. That's happening on the 10th and the 11th. I'll be there on the 11th doing whatever you have me do on the 11th. You're going to play some music, talk, give us some prizes. And just have fun. You get to meet my friend Ryan. Hi, Ryan.
Starting point is 00:58:30 Hi, Ryan. He's the one who designed your thing. 3D printed. He designed it. He designed it. He gets credit for designing it. Absolutely. He gets really mad at me.
Starting point is 00:58:39 And then after that, a great thing you do ever. You've talked about this for years is the wreaths. Tell you about the wreaths. So the wreaths across America. I do know the state, December 19th. Okay. So we're fundraising to purchase wreaths to go put on the veteran cemetery. Last year, they doubled it.
Starting point is 00:58:56 They did 3,000-ish wreaths. And I know this year they're hoping to get one on. every single wreaths. Yeah. Because it is kind of sad that you have to go every other one. And skip people, yeah. You have to skip people. But that's a great thing that we do for the community.
Starting point is 00:59:10 On our website, there's out construction and CNOI.com. There's a button and you can donate directly to, like, my page. Okay. And now we look at, I have 39 out of 100 that I want to get. And if you do, if you don't want to go to one website or you don't know where to go, just try to find, like, a local chapter that you can donate to rather than just doing it to Reese across America as a whole. because there's like an extra like $5 in there.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Okay. It goes directly local compared to like if you did the national one. It just goes into like the national fund. All right. Gotcha. So get in there. Alconstruction, CMI.com or just look for a local organization as that's a great thing you guys do.
Starting point is 00:59:46 We're going to fill every grave this year. We're every single one. And honestly, it's free for every single business to sign up for. All you do is sign up for it. And nonprofits or for profit businesses can sign off for it. Notprofits, you can actually like fundraise with that. Okay. And like where they take that $5.
Starting point is 01:00:00 and you can actually accept that as a donation. But for profit, you don't have that option. I just put it all back right back into buying more rates. So the more businesses that we have help out with it, the more we can get. You just have a far reach and all that is, you can put a QR code and someone can come into your business, scan it. And that's what we did. And the S100 is a small portion of the $6,000 that we need.
Starting point is 01:00:22 But if we have a bunch of small business, many hands make work. And we're giving you a nice runway here. Under three months now. Yeah. That's December 19th day. You got plenty of time to get involved. Anthony, always giving back. Doing great things in the community.
Starting point is 01:00:35 L. ConstructionCNY.com. Be following them on social media. Your wife puts up a lot of good stuff on social media. So you'll know what's going on. And then when that handyman stuff starts coming out, you will know. Oh, yeah. We're excited. You're busy.
Starting point is 01:00:48 You're busy. Lconstruction at CNY.com. Ligwilly. The show. FM for all of our links, live streams, and podcasts. Dumb question. and I got a couple dumb questions I'm going to ask here, but this is a dumb question.
Starting point is 01:01:01 How come we all had to turn our lights off last night for the birds? I didn't do it because I didn't know until this morning. It was one of those? It was a mass bird migration last night. Oh, I didn't know that. I would have done it. And like the whole like this, like Kansas City East, why? What does it do to the birds?
Starting point is 01:01:15 Supposed to help them so they can just see, like not seeing the dark, but I think it distracts them or something. So you turn it all off. It makes it so they know where they're going and they don't get distracted by big city lights. So they're like little Cody birds. They get easily. distracted and they kind of wind her off. I don't know what your little cocoa birds.
Starting point is 01:01:33 They see a light. Oh, there's a light down there. What is that? Sorry what's that? All right. I didn't know about it. Unfortunately until this morning. Stupid birds flying around. I had all my spotlights on. I probably killed numerous birds. I had my bat signal on. Got to. For most of the night. That's funny you say that. I wasn't going to do this story, but do you see that the Batman? Hold on. Where is it? Where's Batman's layer is actually filled? Yeah. Batman's
Starting point is 01:01:57 Metmore Towers. It's an estate that was used as Wayne Manor. Wayne Manor. Is now filled with real bats. Really? Yeah. That's pretty cool. A family trust linked to it said they need to complete repairs and formalize bat surveys
Starting point is 01:02:12 because the building has been overrun with bats. They are hiring a bat team. That's neat. I'm a ecologist to come look at it. You don't have to just to. That's where they live. That's where they live now. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:02:25 That's where they live. That's crazy. Imagine that. What, the bat's in the Batman house? And it's closed. You're just in there and then it's nighttime. That'd be dope. Well, how do they leave at night?
Starting point is 01:02:35 Where do they go? Wait for them to all do what they do because they got to leave, right? They don't just sit there forever. Yeah, they guess they come out at night and then close the doors. Close the-all-close the chimney flute or whatever the thing is in there. And then they come back in the morning, ready to do their daytime slumber. What the freak, man? Squatters rights.
Starting point is 01:02:53 It's like when you block off bees' holes and then they come back at night. Beholes. What the hell? Yeah. Well, other stupid questions I'm reading here on BuzzFeed. Beholes. It's because you got to imagine, I have stupid questions all the time.
Starting point is 01:03:06 Just because I'm a brilliant college-educated morning radio host. I don't know everything. No. And sometimes my questions are dumb, like, why do we need to turn the lights off of the birds? Yeah, but that's like, because again, I would be with you where you think that there, you can now you can see at nighttime, stupid idiots. So some of these BuzzFeed comments, quote, my niece didn't know that pickles were made from cucumbers.
Starting point is 01:03:29 She sought there was a pickle tree or a pickle bush somewhere. That's not a dumb question. The tree in the bush part, no, but I could see how. It's another thing. Until you learn it. Until you learn, it's another thing. Yeah. I had to explain to my friend that no, salmonella is not Spanish for salmon.
Starting point is 01:03:45 Ah, little salmon. Ooh, salmonella. It's actually little salmon. I was working at a bike store. When an older lady came in to return a roll of reflective tape, she claimed it did not work when she took it into her dark closet. No, you have to hold it under your lamp. Got charged it for a little bit.
Starting point is 01:04:02 And then you put it under your shirt like this and then you see. Like I used to do with my G.I. Joe pajamas to where I would charge my shirt up really, really hard next to the light. Then I'd run to my bedroom. There's nothing better than that. Glow in the dark pajamas, we got to normalize those as adults. Even just now, just when you find out something's glow in the dark, it's just a mindblower.
Starting point is 01:04:20 Like how excited would my wife be to see me enter the bedroom and glow in the dark pajamas? Okay, that's what you're going with that. What? I was thinking it's dark and all of a sudden something else is just lit up. No, no, that's not happening. I'm just saying she's asleep and I walk in and I got skeleton PJs on. No, I agree.
Starting point is 01:04:37 I got my glow in the dark time. They weren't glow in the dark, but it was a hard hold in my hand at Walmart. They have, because they don't usually have it. It's always just for kids, but they had adult Halloween PJs. And it was the Charlie Brown ones. And I went. And I held them there and went, no, you don't need adult pajamas. Yeah, yes you do, though.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Yes, you do. I can't sleep in them. So it would just be me walking around the apartment or randomly going to throw away the garbage and somebody randomly sees me in my PJs. This isn't a dumb question. A patient asked me if you could get the flu twice. Like what? Like, I had it yesterday and can I get it next week?
Starting point is 01:05:20 No, like, ever. Because you know how like you get the chicken pox? You can't get chicken pox again? Oh. Maybe they just thought, if I got a flu once, I already had the flu. Gotcha, gotcha, got you. I'm going to get it again. Had a colleague once, a grown man who didn't know that indoor cats used litter boxes.
Starting point is 01:05:36 He just thought they went all over the house and we cleaned it up. That's a dumb. That's a dummy. You work with the dummy. You're dumb. You've never been in a grocery store and saw a litter box. Dumb dumb dumb. Oh, your cat used to do the poop on the ground.
Starting point is 01:05:48 My cousin's husband, who was 35 at the time, thought Thunder had. when two clouds crash into each other. Oh, it's not. Yeah. No, it's God bowling. Yeah, don't be dumb. It's just God bowling. And then he's crying on you.
Starting point is 01:06:03 And he's like, oh, I'm sad because the bowling trip is over. So he tears up. And then this is something for you. I walked into the break room just in time to stop my coworker from cooking a can of corn in the microwave. Oh, nice. Now, you can eat them right out of the can, man. Corn and peace. Here's a dumb question.
Starting point is 01:06:22 Yep. Here's a dumb. I'm going to close it out with my own dumb question. You're saying you're eating all this corn. Oh, yeah. If I took that corn and I put it in the microwave, popcorn? Or no? Because it's already wet.
Starting point is 01:06:33 It's got to be the dry. It's got to be the kernels. Like you see, those are it. Not just like the numb-nom-n kernels, like those like hard. You know what I mean? Oh, yeah. I guess they are different, aren't they? Yeah, like a mushy fella isn't going to turn into popcorn.
Starting point is 01:06:46 See, I'm dumb too. It's okay. That's okay. I'm also dumb. That's why all of us are here for each other. Gotta be special popping corn. You know, laughing me for walking around, terrified of sinkholes. But a Long Island woman had a terrifying birthday surprise this past weekend.
Starting point is 01:07:02 Last Thursday, rather, as Danielle Tumone. It was in her New York yard. Tumone! Suddenly collapsed and dropped eight feet into an old well. That's crazy. Filled with water and sod. It's because... They ever get baby Jessica out of that well?
Starting point is 01:07:20 No. No, she's still down there? I think she lives there. Yeah. Well, because what's nuts is how it's not so much that, you know, the sinkholes, those I think were not even really experiencing its poor infrastructure. Yeah. And like crap like that where they were probably like, I don't know, throw some dirt over top of it.
Starting point is 01:07:38 That is true. We didn't have many rules back in the day. So they're like, that old well, I don't know, put some sod across it or I don't know. Like he said, put some dirt in it. I just saw, I forgot where it was, but somewhere on the news, it was some reporter that was like that was just kind of like on a road and was like yeah if you look here if you just
Starting point is 01:07:55 step this is starting to sink into it's like are we gonna cone that off can we yeah right maybe a little if your foot is causing a collapse every day I'm waiting for my sink hold to open up it's gonna be because again with
Starting point is 01:08:11 these roads here with the air canal and all that stuff and terrible old pipes there's somewhere downtown where it's gonna happen We're going to fall into a single. Maybe not us. We didn't not. Think about there are going to be tearing down the parking garages.
Starting point is 01:08:26 So all these like big heavy equipment vehicles are going to be down there driving around. Once we tear down that parking garage, we're going to discover some things, I think. Something's going to happen. What are we doing? They're going to put up another parking garage? I hope so, because there ain't nowhere to park. Yeah, I mean. I ain't on a park down here.
Starting point is 01:08:43 It was funny. We were down to the city on the west side, I believe. Or maybe the, I forget the west side. Jason was going to show it to us, but they put a building on a part of land that you can't build on and they're like, hey, you can't build there and they're like, but we're going to. And then it started sinking.
Starting point is 01:08:58 Yeah. And they're like, yeah, we told you you can't build here. Now you just got to leave it. It's just got dirt. We can't build on dirt. What's the problem here? We're building buildings over here. I did get to yell, I'm walking here
Starting point is 01:09:10 as somebody though, which was really fun of it. Real authentic New York City saying. Text line says, I've been waiting for your sinkhole to open up too, Josh. How dare you? I live in fear. I think our sinkholes have been opening up all morning. Yeah, they really have.
Starting point is 01:09:26 That's a corn boy for you over there. You're to do, Mr. Like, it's like a, it's like a 10 to 1 ratio today. I don't know about that. That's not right. I'll get my revenge tomorrow. I don't know. Tomorrow with Thursday morning.
Starting point is 01:09:40 You're going to jump into twitch. combe slash the show or head to the show. FM. Because we're playing a little golf. A little falltime golf. Golf? Gaming stream powered by Ryan Phelps Auto Sales. You are buying fly and styling jet plane riding with Ryan Phelps Auto Sales.
