And now Lauren Everts and Michael Bostic are bringing you along for the ride.
Get ready for some major realness.
Welcome to The Skinny Confidential, him and her.
Aha!
Hey guys, what's up?
It's Lauren.
I'm alone.
I'm doing a solo episode.
This is kind of a fly by the seat of my pants episode. This is kind of a fly by the seat of my pants episode. Michael's not here and I am seeing
in the Skinny Confidential secret Facebook group that you guys want to talk about diet, fitness,
diet, exercise, nutrition. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to try to do some themed podcasts
by myself on that. Maybe Michael can make a guest appearance if
he's lucky, or maybe he can do his own solo episode. So this podcast is going to be specifically
dedicated to a bunch of skinny tips and tricks that I've picked up along the way. I feel like
with the Skinny Confidential, I've had the opportunity to talk to a lot of amazing experts. And also I've had
the opportunity to talk to a lot of you and connect with the community. And I've picked up
so many tips, tricks, recommendations, and I've applied so many of them to my own life. I always
say I'm like a human guinea pig. So today I'm going to talk about the ones that I feel like have worked for me. Okay. So
I'm not a doctor. I'm just showing you what works for me and you can take what you like and leave
what you don't. It's really that simple. These are things that I have tried for at least a month to
two months to even years. I've experimented on myself and there are things that just seem to be working
for me. And again, they're not going to work for everyone, but feel free to experiment with the
ones that you like. And if you have any more skinny tips or tricks to add to this list that
I'm about to showcase, please let me know. The best place to get a hold of me is on Instagram via DM or on my latest picture. I usually
always respond when it's on my latest Instagram. So definitely drop me your tips, tricks, secrets
because I want to stalk you. All right. So we're basically going to talk about everything from intermittent fasting to what I add to my water, to teas,
to alcohol, to my favorite snacks, dinner, breakfast, kind of the works. We're just going
to really do a deep dive into it. I feel like the first thing that we should talk about is
intermittent fasting. This is like the hot word right now. I feel like it's very on the pulse to talk about
intermittent fasting, but so many people are doing it. And at first I was like, I don't know if this
is for me. I don't really want to fast. But then the other part of me, the researcher, the blogger,
wanted to do my own due diligence to see if it was something that would make sense for my life. And I also
wanted to just try it for the community so I could come kind of report back. There's been so many
things that I've tried, whether it's a beauty product or a skincare product or a health or
fitness tip that I have not talked about because I don't like it. I would say probably 85%
of the things I try, I don't report back on because I just don't
like them.
But intermittent fasting has surprised me, okay?
I am not going to sit here and give you all the research on it.
I would recommend looking up intermittent fasting.
I believe there's a doctor, and I'm probably pronouncing his name wrong because I just
pronounce everything wrong, Dr. Jason Fing. I think it's F-E-N-G.
We're trying to get him on the podcast right now. And he does a really big deep dive into
intermittent fasting, but it's not starving yourself. What it is, is essentially giving
your digestive system a break. So this really appealed to me because I feel like I was eating
from the second I got up to the second I went to bed and there was no break in my digestive system besides when I was sleeping and I was laying down.
So I still felt like the food was just sitting there.
So the way I do this, and this is like my own way, you can pick any 16 hours of the day.
So what you want to do is you want to pick 16 hours to fast.
OK, so you can pick the hours
that work for you. For me, what works best with my lifestyle is stopping eating at eight or nine.
I usually am out to dinner for meetings or my social life, and I don't get to eat usually until
eight or nine. So I stopped eating around eight, nine or 10 and then I will
not eat for 16 hours. Now you're supposed to just technically have water, tea or black coffee here
because you want your body fasting and your digestive system to have a break. I cannot give
up my almond milk cappuccino with cinnamon. I'm probably going to get hate mail for this,
but this is what I do. Just being honest here. Okay. So I do, I'll wake up, I'll do,
okay. So actually let's like walk you through this specifically. Cause you know, I love the detail.
So I stop eating, let's say at eight, nine or 10. If we're being honest, usually it's about nine 30. Okay. I get into bed, stop eating
and drink some water and go to sleep. Okay. Let's usually I get to sleep too, if we're being honest
around 11, I'll read, I'll wake up in the morning and I immediately like to do this thing. We've
talked about it a lot, light movement, hydration. I open the shades. I want to get sunlight in my room to train my brain that it's time to wake up.
I sit in my bed.
I meditate for 10 minutes with Headspace.
Great app.
Try it.
Not sponsored.
Just obsessed.
And I sit in my bed with my Hydro Flask.
I have the 40 ounce right now.
It's hot pink.
You have to get the one with the straw, though. Don't even think about getting the one without the straw. It's not
the same. You can sit there like a lazy slob and drink out of your straw with your head tilted
normal instead of having to tilt it back. Anyway, so I drink my hydro flask the night before that.
I put a pinch of pink salt and lemon in it and a ton of ice so it's freezing when I
wake up. So I sit in bed, I meditate with my hydro flask, I'm drinking my water, the shades are open
and then I immediately get up, I change and I walk to get coffee. So that's my movement and I cannot
take my almond milk cappuccino unsweetened with cinnamon out of my fasting equation. So I do have
one of those. So then I walk to get coffee. I'm listening to a podcast. Usually I pick up my
unsweetened almond milk cappuccino with cinnamon and I drink that until the 16 hours is up. So
it's either 12, one or two that I start eating. Now, before everyone goes crazy, I'm not limiting
my calories. Okay. I'm still eating the
same amount of food that I would eat when I was not intermittent fasting. I'm just starting to
eat later in the day to give my digestive system a break. I do this five to six times a week for
the last three months, and I like it. I like it a lot. Now, I'm not telling everyone to go do this.
I'm just saying do your own research, be your own guru, you know, go talk to your doctor, try it, see if it works for you. So far, I like it. I could change my mind juice that's like just plain celery. It's so good for your digestive
system too. Or a green juice with kale and spinach and lemon and ginger, some arugula,
and just stuff the greens in there and immediately wake up my digestive system with that.
Then I'll usually do a salad with protein. I like hard boiled eggs. I'm really off meat right
now. The only meat I like to be honest right now is prosciutto, but that's like a different story.
So I'll do a salad and I'll do a lot of greens in there, maybe some hard boiled egg or a side
of egg salad. I'll add some Gigi sprinkles. I'm also really, really loving a Gigi
waffle right now. The recipe is on the Skinny Confidential and it's really, really good. It's
kind of like a breakfast food. So if I start eating at 12 to have that waffle after I've had
my green juice, it's awesome. You could do you here. You could do egg salad on GG crackers. If you're not a big GG cracker fan,
I would recommend like a spirulina smoothie, just something that's nutrient dense. And I like to mix
fiber, protein, and greens at whatever lunch meal I'm having. Now, you should also note that I'm
drinking tea the entire day. I'm obsessed with tea. I like 500 drinks at once.
I have my hydro flask with lemon.
I have my almond milk cappuccino.
I have my tea.
And usually it's a blood orange iced tea from West Bean in San Diego.
You can also get this tea on Amazon.
It's a specific blood orange iced tea.
It's caffeine free.
I'll leave the link in the show notes.
Or I'm having a hot mint tea.
I'm very into mint tea.
I heard once that Victoria Beckham drinks mint tea with every single meal.
So then I tried to drink mint tea with every single meal.
I also, like right now, I'm having a jasmine mint chamomile tea from Sweet Greens. So anything that's iced, unsweetened, or hot
unsweetened, I'm about. I don't like sweet tea at all. So just note that I'm drinking tea throughout
the entire day. While we're on the subject of skinny tips, let's talk about one of my favorite
vitamins, omega-3 in particular. Okay, really helps the memory, if you know what I mean I like to take it in the
morning and our favorite right now is Omax you guys know this we've talked about it on the blog
and on the podcast Michael and I are very very selective about which products we talk about on
this show okay we vet everyone we've turned down so many sponsors and before we commit to anyone
we do our own research Omax went through that process.
We even got on the phone with their founder to get the lowdown after testing the product. Okay so I
have a ton of neck pain because I'm always looking down at my phone and the computer and omega-3s
really really help with joint and muscle pain. Michael I know gets joint and muscle pain from
overtraining. When he was younger he went crazy. So these supplements are great for both of us. You should know that over 75% of Americans don't get enough omega-3s.
And if you aren't taking an omega-3 supplement today, you're probably one of them, which is
dramatic, but it's scary. They're so important. It's not just for joint and muscle recovery,
but it's also for memory and focus. You've probably heard about
omega-3s everywhere. They're a thing. They're important. I know everyone who's come on this
podcast from Kristen Cavallari to Aubrey Marcus are fans. So I feel like we're all doing so many
things at once that require us to be on point throughout the week. There's so much going on.
We're all running around like chickens with our head cut off. Okay, so I feel like we're doing so many different things throughout the week. There's so many different
things to pay attention to with social media. Maybe you've got kids, job, whatever it is.
It's important to get that focus and you can get that through your omega threes.
I've noticed a difference from it. I feel like I'm sharper and more on point, even more so if I
don't have a glass of wine the night before. It's like it's very, very obvious.
It's like a fog comes off your brain, which is very, very nice.
Anyway, Omax's product is 94% pure.
Most omega-3 supplements don't even come close to that, which is insane.
It also doesn't have that fish burp taste, which we all hate.
You know what I'm talking about, right?
And they're all clinically tested.
Like I said, there's a ton of omega-3 supplements on the market, and we've added this one a ton
before recommending it. Omax 3 is clinically tested, and they do what's called a freezer
test challenge to verify that each supplement is pure. Go to tryomax.com slash skinny today
to get a free bottle of Omax 3 Ultra Pure with your first purchase. It's a buy one, get one free deal worth over $100, which we love.

T-R-Y-O-M-A-X.com slash skinny.
Terms and conditions apply.
I also want to note, just to go back to the coffee, that I do add something called inulin
to my coffee.
And this
is a fiber powder. I use the method Ingrid, you guys know her from the podcast, her brand. It's
just a fiber powder that keeps you feeling very full and fulfilled while you're intermittent
fasting. And if you're, if you want to know specifics about my coffee, I probably drink
two a day. So I drink one in the morning when I walk to grab it and then one probably around 12
and both of them have inulin.
Okay, so we're going back to lunch.
So after lunch, I'm drinking my tea and I sip my coffee real fucking slow.
Like it's embarrassing how slow I sip it.
So I'm probably still on my second cup of coffee that I'm drinking out of a softies silicone straw. I don't mean to brag. I'm really proud of my softie silicone
straw. They're so cute. I have the pink one or my coffee straw and that's K-O-F-F-E-E straw.
Still sipping my hydro flask and then I'll probably have some kind of snack. So whether that's watermelon and a really
high quality feta cheese, or maybe that's a probiotic yogurt. I'm obsessed with coconut
colt with some berries. Even Gigi pizzas I love with like a Rao's Arbiata sauce and mozzarella and basil and lemon. That's really good. I just
like some kind of snack to hold me over until dinner because I usually eat later. I'm a big
fan of unsalted cashews. I love raw almond butter on GG crackers or I love raw almond butter on
celery or apples. Just something that's healthy to hold me over.
And I just want to like take a little side note tangent here.
This is for when I'm at home and I'm not traveling and I'm being specific with my diet.
When I'm traveling, that's a whole different podcast, okay?
Because when you're traveling, it's real fucking impossible.
So this is when I'm being good.
Okay, so then dinner rolls around.
Hopefully I've had two hydro flasks, 40 ounces full of water.
I've drank my two cups of coffee.
I've probably had three cups of iced tea or a hot tea, but usually iced tea.
And, you know, another snack that I eat a lot, just another tangent, is a spirulina smoothie.
Okay.
And we talked about that a little bit at lunch, but if I haven't had it, I'll have that a lot.
I like to put a ton of greens in there.
I'll do like four sigmatic mushroom powder.
You can do adaptogens.
I'll do water and ice.
I never like to add anything but water and ice to my smoothie.
I don't like like an almond milk or anything in my smoothie usually. Maybe a couple berries. That's
another great thing to hold you over. I just I just want to call out the spirulina because we
had Melissa Wood Health on and spirulina has so many benefits. I'll leave the one that I like in
the link in the show notes. It's really, really important that you get a high quality spirulina.
You don't want to like get something shady a high quality spirulina. You don't
want to like get something shady. You know what I mean? You don't want some like Facebook ad popping
up and you buy spirulina off that. You want to do your research on it. So now we're at dinner. Now,
if I'm eating at home, it's different than when I go out. And I do go out a lot for dinner just
because of work and my social life. But there are a lot of nights that I'm at home. So I'm the type of person that's very much a creature of habit and routine. I don't like 20
different options. I like my go-tos. I like to have it on hand and I don't want to think about
it. I feel like my job is chaotic from the second I wake up to the second that I go to bed. So if I can take any thought
out of things like working out or eating, I appreciate that. Okay. That's why I like to do
the same kind of workouts. I like to eat the same kinds of foods. I like, I like a routine when it
comes to that. So there's probably three dinner go-tos that I'm always eating. I like pasta. Okay. Like I like sourdough. If I'm
on death row, I'm having like a huge loaf of French sourdough with salted butter and like a bottle of
rosé and more sourdough and pasta. I'm a carb fanatic. Okay. So I do everything I can to make it feel like I'm having carbs at night.
And what I do is I do what I've done for the last 10 years, which is modify. I'm always modifying
stuff. So instead of telling myself, you're not allowed to have pasta, you're not allowed to have
this. I don't, I rework the verbiage, the narrative, if you will. So I'll say, okay, I want pasta.
All right, these are my options.
So I'll do either a spaghetti squash.
Okay, you can find them in a local market.
I like to go organic when it comes to the spaghetti squash.
You cut it in half, you cook it.
It's real fucking simple.
You don't need to be like a chef to do it.
And you scrape the squash out with a fork. Shout out to my stepmom for teaching like a chef to do it. And you scrape the squash out with a fork.
Shout out to my stepmom for teaching me exactly how to do it.
Or I'll do zoodles.
Okay.
Zoodles you can buy already made at Whole Foods.
Get the organic ones.
They're basically zucchini made into noodles.
If you don't have zoodles pre-made and pre-packaged, then do it yourself.
It's so easy.
There's a girl called Inspiralizer, Inspiralized, I hope I'm saying that right. And she has the machines for sale and they're these little machines that you just turn and it makes your own
zucchini pasta. And it looks like pasta and it tastes, I mean, it tastes pretty damn close. Like
I'm not, I'm not feeling deprived when I'm having my zucchini noodles. Okay. You can also do this thing that Healthy
with Nettie actually recommended. There is a recipe in it in Healthy with Nettie times F
Factor ebook. And she did this recipe with hearts of palm noodles. The company is called Palmini. I'll leave the link in the show notes.
I get it off Amazon. It's one ingredient. And the trick here, and shout out to Healthy with Nettie
for showing me this, is to let your hearts of palm noodles sit in almond milk for a little bit,
okay? I try to let it sit for an hour. Sometimes I'm running late and that
doesn't happen, but you want to let them sit there. So the taste is right. This is a random tip,
but it works. So I let the noodles sit in like an almond milk for as long as I possibly can.
And then I'll put them in, um, in a pan with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil.
I'll add a little bit of what's Gabi's cooking Italian
seasoning. I love that seasoning. And, you know, maybe some garlic, chop a little garlic.
And I'll cook that up and then add Rao's Arbiata sauce on top. And for my protein, I'll usually do
either like, I know this sounds weird, but I'm just being honest,
like a side of scrambled eggs because I don't, sometimes I don't like to mix the protein with
my fake pasta. So those are my three fake pasta items. I said spaghetti squash, zoodles, or hearts
of palm pasta. Right now I'm on the hearts of palms kick. Okay. I love it. I have tried miracle
noodles. They make my stomach hurt. I've tried
everything with them. It doesn't work. It feels like I'm eating fake food. So those are the three,
the three standout fake pastas that work for me. Okay. So little side note here. I'm very,
very excited because Four Sigmatic is actually a partner of the Skinny Confidential, him and her
show. Like I said, I'm absolutely obsessed with the mushroom cacao powder.
All I do is at night, I take a big, huge mug, put a ton of hot water in it,
and pour my mushroom goodness in this hot water, mix it up, and drink it.
It's like a thick, spicy hot chocolate.
You should also know that Four Sigmatic has tons of different mushroom blends, okay?
And the benefits are
unreal. Mushrooms assist in weight loss, lower stress levels, promote healthy skin, have anti-aging
effects, which we love, and are even huge players in the role of preventing a disease. Basically,
guys, they're a star, okay? A secret star though, because I feel like a lot of people don't know
how many hidden magical powers mushrooms have. Four Sigmatic has blends for focus, blends for sleep, blends to replace your morning coffee, for gut
health, to relax, and even to combat anxiety. And trust me when I say this, they work. Okay. I put
them in my smoothie. Like I said, I end my night with them. You could even start your day with them
with the coffee one. Michael loves that one. And each blend of mushrooms contains a ton of
beneficial amino acids and adaptogens. We love this. And none of them give you the caffeine
jitters. My favorite right now, we already know, Michael's favorite is probably the lion's mane
or the coffee. Don't mean to brag guys, but I also have my own page on Four Sigmatic where you can
shop my favorite shrooms. Okay. So there's like my hot cacao mix. I have a superfood
blend up there. Also their golden latte mushroom mix is next level with a little almond milk and
cinnamon. Insane. Anyway, the reason that I really like this brand is I have an obnoxious sweet tooth
that always comes at about 10 PM at night, which is not efficient. So I do one of two things. It's
weird to talk about to get so specific, but the first thing is I eat a date, you know, like the
fruit. I just do one date and it offsets the sugar cravings. I know this is weird, but it works.
The second thing I do is I drink my mushroom hot cacao mix. Like I said, I heat it up. I add the
powder. It's this little tiny pouch. You can put it in your handbag. I travel with it. They're great to bring, especially if you have a sweet tooth.
So definitely check Four Sigmatic out. Check out my page. All you have to do is go to
foursigmatic.com slash skinny and enter promo code skinny for 15% off. Again, go to foursigmatic.com
slash skinny and enter promo code skinny for 15% off. Another go-to that I've been
absolutely obsessed with is cauliflower pizza. I'm sure you've seen it all over Instagram.
Every girl in the world is making it. Well, guess what? So am I. So I like a specific brand. It's by
cauliflower foods. Okay. I feel like the ingredients are straight to the point. I'm
always looking at ingredients. I don't look at calories really. I sometimes look at carbs and
fiber just to know sort of what I'm, what I'm eating and ingesting, but mostly I look at the
ingredients and the ingredients on cauliflower foods is really good. I like, like I said,
the spicy jalapeno packet. And so there's a couple
different versions that I do. So the first version is I'll do like a goat cheese or mozzarella.
I try to get raw and then I'll slice organic pears on top and do like a little balsamic and lemon.
And it's so good. Okay. You're going to be obsessed. This other version that I
make is I'll do like mozzarella cheese. I add Rao's Arbiata on top and then I'll do tons and
tons of jalapenos because I'm obsessed with jalapenos and chili flake. I like it so spicy.
Like I want it to burn my mouth off and some bell pepper on top. So those two options are insane. And here's the
crazy thing. Okay. It's 12 carbs for an entire pizza. I'm not talking like a little like personal
pizza. I'm talking the whole pizza. Okay. And the fiber in it is six grams, so it's essentially six carbs, which I'm very much about.
I love to do cauliflower pizza.
I'll also do a salad, usually like a kale or arugula or bell pepper salad on the side.
Then the last thing that I like to eat when it's dinnertime and Michael's wolfing down
his Chipotle is lettuce cup tacos.
I like to really cut back on the carbs
at night. I noticed that it makes me feel like shit if I eat too much carbs. So I'll do like
turkey tacos. I'm pretty off meat, like I said right now. But if I am feeling meat, I'll do
like a lean turkey taco with a little bit of sliced cheese. I do not like to buy shredded
cheese in the plastic containers. And the reason is, is it contains potato starch. So I always go
for the block of cheese. I like to spend money on cheese. I'm committed to spending money on cheese.
Cheese is, it's important that you don't try to, you know, sacrifice on the cheese. I look where it's from.
I want to know that there's probiotics in it. Do your research on your cheeses, okay?
Don't just buy the cheapest cheese. And then I'll do lots of jalapenos, lots of veggies,
and just eat lettuce cup tacos. Those are great. With those three meals, I feel like I'm in on the fun, but I'm not
eating too much food. Now, if I'm out to dinner, that's a whole different story.
If I'm out to dinner, you know, like let's say we're out for sushi. I'll always start with a
super salad, sometimes both, and then I'll fill up on some protein, like maybe some sashimi. I'll ask for
the roll without rice. And if I do want rice, I'll just say a light rice. I'm not a person that has
all these limitations on my diet. Okay. I learned from my friend Ingrid, who was on the podcast,
that when you have all these limitations and you've set all these boundaries on your diet, it stresses you out and makes your cortisol go nuts. Cortisol
can make you gain weight. So I'm constantly trying to get my cortisol down. When I eat my lunch,
I like to sit down and concentrate on eating my lunch. When I eat my dinner, I like to listen to
a podcast and just concentrate on eating my dinner. I don eat my dinner, I like to listen to a podcast and just concentrate on
eating my dinner. I don't want to stress myself out every day by, you know, counting all this,
counting calories, counting whatever. I just, I want to be able to eat and eat intuitively and
put good things in my body while nourishing my body. So I guess you would describe my diet as um as lax because I don't put boundaries on it but at
the same time I'm always trying to make the healthiest decisions instead of subtracting
from my plate I add to it and let me explain what that means so instead of taking away everything
I'll add more vegetables I'll add more fruit um So I'm eating things that, you know, fill me up
that are nutrient based. And just to like shout this out, I am going to do a whole podcast episode
of tips and tricks of when I travel, because like I said, when I travel, it's a different story. I
think you have to get more creative. So if I want to do dessert, I do like raspberries stuffed with dark chocolate. I'll do an unsalted
popcorn with a couple of enjoy life chocolate chips. I love dark chocolate. As you can see
right now, I'm absolutely obsessed with Four Sigmatic's mushroom spicy cacao. It's like a
hot chocolate, like a thick hot chocolate with no calories in it.
And it's filled with benefits.
So that's something that I've been drinking every night before I go to bed.
And like I said, I have 800 drinks.
So you better bet your ass that next to that is a cup of magnesium calm.
So those are two things that I've been ending the night with that make all the difference.
When it comes to alcohol, I really try not to drink at home. I mean, once in
a while, Michael and I will be eating something really good or I'll cook something on, you know,
that happens like once a year and we'll open like a really good bottle of Italian red wine.
But normally we just drink when we're out, you know, once in a while I'll have a beer
at home, but usually it's more when I'm out. And when I'm out, I don't do mixers. You know this,
I micromanage the bartender in the nicest way possible. I say, can I please have a Blanco
tequila margarita with a little bit of Cointreau, tons and tons of lemon and lime, a half room of
salt over ice, and maybe like sometimes one drop of sweet and sour, but I want it like no mix at all. I don't want any sugar.
And then for wine, if I do a rosé or a white wine, I always ask for a cup of ice and make it a
lapicine, which I just recently learned about in France. And it means pool. And basically it just
waters down the wine. So you drink it slower and you also don't get as hungover. So those are my skinny tips
when I'm out and I want to have a drink. Once in a while, if I'm with all boys, which I found myself
in that situation a lot lately, I'll have a tequila on the rocks with like lemon or lime.
Super simple. If they have grapefruit, that would be great. So those are my drinking tips.
So now I want to give you a couple skinny tips and tricks that have made small differences, but big differences over time. So I'm all about herbs and spices. Okay. I use herbs and spices wherever I can. I make my own low calorie dressing. If you Google the lowest calorie dressing in the world, the skinnyny Confidential, you'll find the dressing that I make.
And there's so many herbs and spices in there. So wherever I can, I'm using cinnamon or mint or dill or rosemary, just basil.
I mean, there's so many.
There's so many great Moroccan spices.
When I was in Morocco, I picked up all these different spices from the market.
So I'm constantly using things like that
to make my meals feel very, very full. Another thing that I just recently started doing,
and I don't want to shout out the company until I've tried it for two months. So bear with me
is a farm fresh delivery service. So what they do is once a week, they deliver all your vegetables, all your fruit, your cage-free eggs, your organic cheeses, just really great foods from like a farmer's market to your door.
And I've been doing that for like two weeks so far.
I love it.
But again, I don't want to shout anything out until I've tried it long enough to give you guys a really honest opinion.
I eat eggs,
I should mention, a lot. Kind of forgot to mention that. Scrambled eggs, like egg salad,
the Nanza's egg salad. My grandma made such a mean egg salad. Like if you haven't watched that YouTube video, you need to run and watch it. As far as fish, I will go to the best market around
me and try to find like a good, good fish. I don't just buy any fish. I'm
always asking questions. If I'm doing any almond butter, it's always a raw organic nut butter.
And just like a side note, I try not to keep things in my house that are processed. So there's
no, there's no temptation. I mean, sure, we have some stuff that's in there that's processed,
but not a lot of stuff
in our house is incredibly processed.
If you're going to do chips, I highly recommend Siete's avocado lime chips.
They are so good with guacamole or like a spicy salsa.
There's this green salsa too from Trader Joe's that's so good with them.
Highly recommend them.
Another skinny tip that I've done forever, and I need to
shout out my friend Jennifer Bell of Wrinkled Not Dead, is I do endive lettuce chips instead of
tortilla chips. So if I have guacamole or salsa and I'm having friends over, I'll lay out endive
pieces of lettuce with the chips. So, you know, maybe you do half endive, half chips.
Again, that's modifying. You're still feeling like you're getting the chips, but maybe half the time
you're eating the endive lettuce chips. If I'm craving orange juice in the morning, a lot of
people have asked me about orange juice. I will do a little bit of orange juice and then Perrier
grapefruit sparkling water to fill it up. So again, I feel like I'm getting of orange juice, and then Perrier grapefruit sparkling water to fill it up.
So again, I feel like I'm getting that orange juice, but I'm also cutting a lot of the situation
out with the sparkling water and ice. Another fun thing that I like to do is I love taking an ice
cube tray, okay, a vintage ice cube tray, we all have them. And putting pomegranate seeds or berries in them and then putting water on top of that
and letting it freeze.
So if it's, you know, a Friday night and I'm at home and I don't want to drink alcohol,
I'll take a wine glass, I'll pour sparkling water in it, and then I'll put my fancy schmancy
cute pretty ice cubes in it.
And you just feel like you're, you feel satisfied. You know
what I mean? As for specific recipes that I make, I'm all about the five second recipes. I don't
have a lot of time. And I found that the people that consume the Skinny Confidential content are
a lot of hustlers. They're hard workers. They're, you know, they've got kids, whatever it is,
they don't have time. So what I did is I created the
Skinny Confidential Body Guide. And in that are all my five second recipes. Okay. You can find
so many recipes in there that will take you no longer than five minutes. It's all for the girl
on the go. This isn't for, you know, Emerald Lagasse. Okay. This is for someone that is
running out the door, but wants to eat something healthy.
So I put all those, I put recipes in quotes because they're almost like not even recipes because they're so easy to make in this guide.
And Kim Kelly and I are having our new fresh evolved guide coming out in January.
And that includes all her five second recipes.
Kim and I are very similar like
that. We love to throw things together and, you know, bring it along in our purse. Like we got
to go. So those are a bunch of my skinny tips and tricks. If you want more tips like this,
check out the body guide. Okay. Like I said, there's so many skinny hacks in there and tons
of recipes. I would love to know you guys' skinny tips and tricks. So leave your
hack on my latest Instagram and I'm going to pick five of you to win a skinny confidential meal plan
and body guide. Okay. All you have to do is tell me your hack. I want to know everyone's hack.
There's nothing better than scrolling through the secret Facebook group and seeing all you guys'
recommendations. I cannot tell you how many tips and tricks I've picked up from you guys. So thanks for that. With that, I'm going to go
finish my almond milk cappuccino and drink my blood orange iced tea. And Michael will be back
next week. Thank you guys so much for listening. Make sure you're subscribed to the podcast. We
really appreciate it if you could rate and review it too. It takes five seconds. It's on iTunes.
Do it while you're like in bed drinking out of your hydro flask.
Make sure there's lemon in it and make sure you get the one with the straw.
I'll see you guys next week.
