Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a Dear Media production. Today is the day. That's right. The Skinny Confidential has teamed up with Spritz Society, the award-winning sparkling wine cocktail, which is created by mega entrepreneurs and brand builders Claudia and Jackie Ostry of The Toast. I have done so many collabs with them. We've been on each other's podcast. And this made so much sense to me. So we teamed up together and we thought up what we could do together. And of course, we did something pink. So presenting Spritz Society times the Skinny Confidential Pink Lemonade. Thousands of people across the Skinny Confidential and the Spritz Society communities voted on this flavor. Essentially, you pick the flavor.
Starting point is 00:00:51 So what we did is we had tons of different taste testing rounds, and this one won. We had independent taste testers. We tried different varietals of wine. We did the work to bring you the crispiest, the most refreshing, not too sweet, sparkling wine cocktail in a can. I'm really proud of this. This was like six months of planning, so much taste testing, and just like a lot of text messages and back and forth to bring this product to market. It is the perfect pink. It's absolutely beautiful. It's nothing artificial. It's low sugar, seven ingredients or less, and it's gluten-free. You can carry this in your handbag. It's absolutely adorable on your Instagram feed. All their products are low carb and low sugar. They only use natural cane sugar
Starting point is 00:01:33 to naturally sweeten the liquid, but it's not too sweet. You know what I mean? We have a code and the code is nowhere else. It's also very limited edition. So this is not something that's going to be online forever. In fact, I think it's going to sell out very quickly. You can use code SKINNYSPRITZ for an extra 10% off for TSC listeners, and you can purchase two packs at $50 or three packs at $70. Spritz Society Pink Lemonade by The Skinny Confidential, available at spritzsociety.com slash TSC. I went on and bought my own packs today. I'm so excited to get this in the mail. Comes in a cute box. I hope you love it. Use code Skinny Spritz. She's a lifestyle blogger
Starting point is 00:02:13 extraordinaire. Fantastic. And he's a serial entrepreneur. A very smart cookie. And now Lauren Everts and Michael Bostic are bringing you along for the ride. Get ready for some major realness. Welcome to the Skinny Confidential, him and her. Surround yourself with people that know what they're doing. Be a fucking sponge. Just because you own a business doesn't mean you need to be the smartest person in the room. It's actually the polar opposite. If you're going to own a business, be the CEO and be in charge of making decisions, and you're dead set that your opinion is right
Starting point is 00:02:49 when you've never worked in that industry, you're going to lose. Ultimately, nobody that's in these positions knew what they were doing before they did it. Welcome. This should be no surprise to you. Today, we have Ben Soffer on the Skinny Confidential Him and Her podcast. He is the founder and CEO of Spritz Society, an award-winning line of ready to drink premium sparkling cocktails that launched direct to consumer in 2021 and is now in retail across multiple markets across the USA. He also is the creator of At Boy With No Job. He's married to At Girl With No Job. And here's a fun fact. He helped me develop Spritz Society times the Skinny Confidential's Pink Lemonade. We've been going back and forth for months to pick the perfect
Starting point is 00:03:36 flavor for you. And in this episode, we're going to go over everything. And in this episode, we're going to talk about what it means to be an entrepreneur, how to bring a product to market, influencer life. We're going to talk about how he developed Spritz, packaging, design, flavors, messaging. This episode hits everything. I learned a lot. So to give you a little background, his wife, Claudia, has Girl With No Job, but she also has the show The Toast with her sister Jackie. And The Toast recently came over to Dear Media. So they're a part of the Dear Media family. So there's a lot of history here. And I'm just so excited to have him on. I'm so excited to launch a Skinny Confidential cocktail with him. On that note, we're going to talk about social strategy on this episode. So let's welcome Ben to the show.
Starting point is 00:04:25 This is The Skinny Confidential, him and her. I will say that you guys got the tone so right on this. I talk about tones all day long and people think I'm crazy, but it really is the perfect buttery pink. It's gorgeous. It's so gorgeous. I know. I'm so excited. And I also love, I don't think that we would have ever gone this buttery pink if you didn't have your finger on the pulse of your brand. So thank you for making sure that it was perfect because they really are perfect. My finger was on the tone. It was on it. I know. I'm really proud of it. It was. And I'm just so excited for your audience and for Jackie and Claude's audience and my audience to try it.
Starting point is 00:05:07 I think they're going to love it. They're going to love it. So how did we get here? Let's go way back. I was going to say, do we want to introduce what this is? Or are we just assuming that they see it and we'll just talk through it? Let's blue ball everyone and hold it to the end. Yeah, what is this? Yeah, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Yeah, we're going to blue ball you guys. This is just here. Okay, I love a blue ball. How did we meet? How did you guys meet? Well, I'm feeling a little misled because your handle is boy with no job, but I know you actually have a real job. I do. So maybe
Starting point is 00:05:36 you should change it at a boy with a job. It's almost as if you're the first person to say that. Oh, God. It's like, I can't. I got a dad joke but you know um now how do we get connected here we've been circling the drain on a connection for probably a few years now we have and to quickly address the boy with no job piece i've always had a job yeah always forever boy with no job started when i was in college and then i went and worked
Starting point is 00:06:02 like why wouldn't you work I don't understand it I never got it like influencers like sometimes they just like take the plunge and they're like oh yeah like I want to post online for a living and it's like you built a brand it's very different Claudia and Jackie built a gorgeous podcast comedian author you're just going to post online for your whole life like what happens when brands don't want to sponsor you anymore this is what you're gonna do you're gonna be 60 years old and like doing rants on instagram at bill de blasio it's never gonna happen train like have a career and then be comfortable making a nice extra like bit of money you know what i mean like every now and then and if like some amazing idea comes to you like launching sprit society where you can leverage
Starting point is 00:06:44 the millions of people that you've accrued. Fantastic. But I just never understood like, oh, I have a million and a half followers. I'm not going to work. What is it? What does that even mean? I will not be taking a mirror selfie in Depends. I just won't.
Starting point is 00:06:59 My plan is to wait until... How much? Yeah. How much? Come on. You would. No, I don't think so. I don't want to take a mirror How much? Yeah. How much? Come on. You would. No, I don't think so. I would.
Starting point is 00:07:06 I don't want to take a mirror selfie in Depends. I think there has to be some strategy to... I just can't. I'm letting Depends know that my number is $1 million. What age? For $1 million, I would do it right now.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Will you show a ball? Yeah. Sorry, for $2 million, I'd show a ball. For $ for two million dollars i'd show a ball for three million dollars i'd show like small amounts of poop dripping out of my hands wow you'd show poop yeah it doesn't fit on my feet i will i will show a ball it depends i will show a ball for 50 bucks i'm cheap lord i don't think you know this but early days do you remember this when i came in there was an agency you were working at and I actually came in and like
Starting point is 00:07:48 pitched the entire agency and you were at the table. I just said that to Lauren right before. I don't remember us meeting, but I remember Dear Media coming in. I was at a company called Marina Mar. Yeah, that's right. Which is a nominee comm agency. And now that I'm thinking back on it, it was very, it was a very female led agency and everything that they did aligns perfectly with your media. So I'm not sure if you guys did ended up doing anything with them.
Starting point is 00:08:09 I think we just pitching them for like, if, if their clients wanted to work with podcasts. So this was like early days. I mean, I think we had like six or seven shows and it was in all the agencies were still like, what the hell are you talking about? Like what, what is a podcast? Why are you doing this? Shmere media. Yeah. I was like listen
Starting point is 00:08:25 it's this really great idea it's like very female focused and then people would just kind of like zone out a little bit but no but to your agency's credit they heard me out we talked about i think we actually end up doing a few things but yeah i walked in i got off the elevator i'm like holy shit it's bad yep so talk to us about how you get from there, where Michael just told us, to here. What's the in-between? The in-between is taking something that you're great at, which for me was always influencer marketing, celebrity marketing, understanding product market fit. And this is like all, I mean, you heard this because it's part of my spritz pitch. It's you have for every thousand celebrity brands, you're going to have two that are
Starting point is 00:09:09 successful. And that's because most of the time you have somebody that built a brand, has a great idea, right? Like this, this beautiful, the mountain Valley water, which I'm letting mountain Valley know that if they don't start sending Michael and Lauren Bostic free water, I'm not drinking it anymore. We had an idea in the car, Lauren, where any show that's not performing gets downgraded to Dasani and only the shows that perform get- Only the premier Dear Media shows get Mountain Valley water.
Starting point is 00:09:36 Because listen, we're putting the bill for these Mountain Valleys. And I swear to God, it's putting the company under. That's what I'm saying. They need to send you water. There's a line item on the budget that says mountain valley but somebody made mountain valley water and they bring on a celebrity right a celebrity face that they think will work with water more often than not that just won't work and that's because the celebrity or influencer either doesn't have the credibility in the water space, they can't sell products, they are doing 100 deals at once, so they're not prioritizing the water company.
Starting point is 00:10:10 They think of it as a job. It's not theirs. Versus us, we were able to build a company out of the communities that we've built over the last decade. The goal was never to launch a company. The goal was to create diehard communities and we paired our personal lives. We were drinkers. We loved drinking and having fun and wanted to make something that tasted better because we felt that everything out there in a can didn't taste good. And so we went to our audience and we asked them, what do you want? And they
Starting point is 00:10:42 said, we want a wine basedbased sparkling cocktail that tastes good. And that was it. Yeah, we talk about this all the time. I mean, when you say it like that, it makes so much sense. And it's like, oh yeah, why doesn't everyone do that? It's so easy. You're going to read some piece of paper that tells you white space that was probably white space three years ago. If we look at paper today on the alcohol industry, it's going to tell us to launch a tequila
Starting point is 00:11:02 company because there's so much agave in those farms, right? So go up there, work with your agave leaves, make a tequila company, and then you're the 900th celebrity tequila brand. And then by the time that anybody's doing well, it's a different spirit. That's, you know what I mean? Sure. Just ask. I think a lot of people don't have the patience to content market and build
Starting point is 00:11:25 a community and then launch product. A lot of product-based companies want to launch the product first, but you guys did it the other way around. Was there a strategy behind that? Yeah. And even in the way that we launched Spritz Society, where 99.9 out of 100 alcohol brands launch wholesale first. They bring on a distributor and they go into wholesale and they build brand out there because they don't know where their customer lives. As a wine base, the reason why we're able to do this collab with you and ship direct to consumer is because wine's the only alcohol class you can legally ship direct to consumer. They don't allow beer to do that?
Starting point is 00:12:01 No. Oh, interesting. And you'd need to use a spirit. Like if you wanted to sell Casamigos online, you'd have to go through a reserve bar and then reserve bar owns that first party data. Casamigos doesn't. Casamigos can never go back to that consumer one-to-one and have a conversation with them about a party that they're doing, a new chain that they opened a, like they can't talk to them. We can talk to them one-to-one. So it allows us to do that.
Starting point is 00:12:25 But what we did was we launched direct to consumer, found the top seven states that we were having the most pull in online and then went into wholesale with them. What do you think the secret sauce is to creating such a diehard community? Because the morning toast has really hit the spot. I was going to say, you're going to have to ask my wife that question. She is like the queen of brand. I will look at what her and Jackie do on a daily basis and just think to myself, how did you do it? And then you realize it's that they didn't try to do it. I say this all the time.
Starting point is 00:13:03 Influencers that try to become influencers are so cringy because their goal is making money. And the audience knows that. Their goal isn't entertaining. Their goal isn't educating, right? Their goal, like, Claudia and Jackie's goal was getting on there as sisters and making each other laugh. And it's so authentic that everybody that watches them feels like they're sitting next to them. And that's what builds a community. It's actually making content for someone with the intent of making them happy or educating them or bringing them into your circle as opposed to just finding a way to monetize something. A hundred percent agree. I think that in my opinion, you have to go into this thinking,
Starting point is 00:13:45 I'm not going to make a dime for two to three years. If you can go into it like that and just do it as a side hustle and really not lead with money and make money the intention, I think it's a really great foundation. The problem is nobody believes the three of us saying it because if you look at it now, it's like, oh, these are enterprise value businesses, right? It's like Spritz, the Morning Toast, the Skinny Confidential, all of these things like, oh yeah, it's easy for you to say because they make money. But I wish we talked a lot more in the early days. Well, actually, nobody would have been listening right in the early days, but all of these ventures were started without the idea
Starting point is 00:14:21 of there's a business exists. I always say this to my partners like if you'd have asked me anything about podcasting seven years ago i looked at you like you were a fucking nut like what are you talking about i remember the first time we podcasted with jackie and claude we were at a huge round conference table like thrown in the gutter and some random it was in the aol or Yahoo offices. It was in random offices. The mics were bad. The service was all bad. Because we went on their show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:49 And we sang. We went on their show when it was, or Lauren went on their show when it was the morning breath. So that's how vintage. That is how vintage it is. And we had them on when they were the breath. And then they obviously changed the tones. But yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:02 I mean, nobody was, at that time, again, you wouldn't have, those are the days where you wouldn't have looked at any of those properties and be like oh wow what a massive business here between either right it was just like people on a mic doing talking about weird shit how do you fit into the puzzle like how because i know that jackie's husband works with spritz and the two girls how do you guys make this work it's a lot of family we work with very ancestral it is so how do you guys make this work? It's a lot of family. We work with family. It's very ancestral. It is. So how do you guys make that work?
Starting point is 00:15:27 Whose role is what? One, it works because we're very close. But two, it works because we have boundaries and roles. And it was a choice to bring family into the fold. You didn't have to, right? Like I had this idea for Spurt Society and the first person that I called was Zach. And Zach, of course, Jackie's
Starting point is 00:15:46 going to come in. Of course, Claudia's going to come in. But if I wanted to, there's never any pressure to do work together, which makes it possible. And we're also very different brains. It's three overall, or technically five founders with Claudia and Jackie, but it's me, Jake, who you guys have met, and then Zach. And we all do completely different things. My brain is different from Jake's that's different from Zach's and it allows nobody to step on anybody's toes. It's fortunate because I could see it absolutely being a nightmare if there were conflicting egos and opinions, but it's worked very nicely. You are very elevated at your approach to business. Michael and I, when we started conversations about Dear Media and Spritz, were very impressed with what a hustler you are.
Starting point is 00:16:36 You're a go-getter. You're to the point. You're effective. You're efficient. Did you learn that? Is it something that you're just born with? You're definitely part born with the ability to sell, but I think you learn it throughout jobs.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Like we were talking about before my stint at VaynerMedia or my stint at Marina Mar. I worked in agencies. All that you do in agencies is sell permanently. You're selling to clients. I've worked across every like from Tide, Gain, Downey, and Fabricare to Diageo and Alcohol to, I've learned how to sell any type of media. And in the end of the day, starting a business is, at first, you need to believe your idea. You need people to believe your idea.
Starting point is 00:17:16 It's all selling. So I think that's such a smart point to make. I talk all the time and I say, you have to pick a core competency if you're going to go into any business. And I think if you're not sure, like say you're not an say, you have to pick a core competency if you're going to go into any business. And I think if you're not sure, say you're not an engineer, you're not super smart with numbers. If you can learn to sell, it's not just like, hey, I'm going to sell you this can, or I'm not going to sell you this water. It's not like that. It's selling an idea. It's selling a concept. It's selling a process. It's selling a vision for the team to follow. If you can sell,
Starting point is 00:17:41 that can be extrapolated into so much greater value in so many areas. And I think people only equate selling to like, oh, I'm going to close a client or I'm going to get you to buy something from me. No, selling is a whole different thing. You can sell an idea, right? You can convince somebody that that's a good idea. That's a sale. Yeah. I'm also a really, really good manifester and I'm really, really delusional in the best way. I will always convince myself that the best thing is around the corner, and then it's around the corner. Because you've sold yourself on it. Because I found that when you're down on your luck,
Starting point is 00:18:17 because that's business. Business is, we were talking about this in the car, business is waves. Everybody from the outside will only see this graph. But in a business, it's waves. It's ups and downs. And if you think of a down as a trend, you're just going to go down. And I found that being a little bit optimistically delusional allows you to manifest the right things for your business and allows good things to start to happen you and michael remind me so much of each other on so many things is there things that you do that
Starting point is 00:18:52 people wouldn't know for instance like maybe you meditate breath work any like wellnessy things that you do or do you just get up rip the covers off and fucking go i get up rip and go oh my god you're like michael i get up no i was gonna say we're we're a little bit different because he has big muscles so clearly he has like something with breath and meditation and some workout routine i literally i literally rip and go what time are you waking up um that's a good question seven seven so not like five or something crazy no no I love sleep. I get a lot of sleep.
Starting point is 00:19:26 I'm a sleeper. I'm a sleeper too. I mean, I'm a sleeper. Claude, I feel like is a sleeper too. Yeah. Except I fall asleep earlier than her and faster than her. And it's, it's now something that bothers her. Within your marriage, how do you guys?
Starting point is 00:19:38 Why does that bother her? Because I'm just too efficient at going to sleep. Like it's just. She doesn't like that you're getting that much rest. No, she doesn't like my efficiency in like, I want to go to sleep. I'm going to go to sleep. That's how I am. Like, I've found a way to just, maybe it's because I wake up and I sprint.
Starting point is 00:19:56 At the end of the day, I am fucking dead. If you saw what it takes for me to wake up, you would be like, what the fuck is this bitch doing? She's like, what's your problem she's like i'm in a i'm in a bad mood and i'm like lauren i can't wait five hours for you to like get happy i meditate i like to putz around with the baby make the bed drink my lemon water i saw in a cold plunge this morning for me to get me to be the highest effective person no so i'm glad you're saying this because there's a lot of characters that come on the show and I'm not saying they're wrong, but there's like these huge wind up periods to wake up or to get going or things you have to do to get in the right mindset. He's a New Yorker. No, no, but that's, but I love this because my thing is, is like, I grew up with a dad who smashed the lights on and said, get up.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Like that was, there was no like, Hey, how you doing? Let me pet you like a cat. Your breakfast is ready. It was like, get the fuck up. Get out of bed. We're live. It's funny. was there was no like hey how you doing let me pet you like a cat your breakfast is right it was like get the fuck up get out of bed we're live it's funny and i was pet like a cat like my parents like i was so pampered i would wake up like they would drive me to school every day i i think it's just it's this business i was never like this like i'm now i i was always like at work sure like working hard selling this business. There's something that owning a business that you know is a fucking rocket ship. Like I just know how great this business is.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Everyone that tries Spritz Society loves it and they can't believe how good it tastes. And it's just such an industry that's ripe for disruption. Like White Claw did $5 billion two years ago. It tastes like sewage. Like, how does that even happen? Like, I just, it's, there was such a long period of time where Americans were convinced that they needed to like beer to be socially accepted. Like, I remember I would go to college and, or I'd go to like a, I went to Yeshiva University,
Starting point is 00:21:43 which is a nice Jewish college. So we didn't have frat parties, but I'd go to my a i went to yeshiva university which is a nice jewish college so we didn't have frat parties but i go to my friends at university of michigan and we'd play beer pong and i always hated beer but like you can't not drink beer right and it's like looking back on it it's like there there's nothing else to drink and then all of a sudden you see this introduction of hard seltzers that are beer water and people are jumping towards it because they always hated beer i'm really glad that this didn't exist when i was in college because i would be slamming them i would be slamming them yeah i was slamming is anything that came my way that yeah i did grow i
Starting point is 00:22:15 went to university of arizona the harvard of the desert so nice just had a i have friends that went to uva are they okay no yeah none of them yeah i don't doubt it none i don't know when you guys have this idea honestly i don't know if i'm okay i don't know if you're okay either when you guys have this idea to do spritz society what does it look like as someone who is new to the product industry like what's the first step say someone's listening and they're like i want to do something like ben's done one surround yourself with people that know what they're doing. And that doesn't mean that they need to know exactly what to do. Like I didn't initially bring in anybody that had made canned cocktails, but it's people that have either raised money before because I hadn't raised money before or worked in consumer
Starting point is 00:23:00 products before because I hadn't worked in consumer products and be a fucking sponge. Just because you own a business doesn't mean you need to be the smartest person in the room. It's actually the polar opposite. If you're going to own a business and be the CEO and be in charge of making decisions and you're dead set that your opinion is right when you've never worked in that industry, you're going to lose. So day one is just surround yourself with people that are way smarter than you and sit there and just learn. And I think this is just the born salesman to me. You pick up a piece of lingo here, a piece of lingo there, and slowly but surely you patchwork yourself into somebody that sounds knowledgeable about the space. And then you fake it till you make it because ultimately nobody that's in these positions knew what
Starting point is 00:23:45 they were doing before they did it, right? Like nobody's like born a CPG creator. Like they learned it. Everybody learned it. People just sound smarter because they know the lingo and they've done it now for a period of time. But you want to start a business, bring in people that are smarter than you have done it before, learn, listen, and then react. That is great advice. Everyone should take that down.
Starting point is 00:24:09 It's important to say too, because I think this is what holds so many people back is they believe that if you're going to be someone in a position like you are, that you have to have it all figured out before you can enter that position. And it's just, it's not how it works. I'm still figuring out what the hell I'm doing over here, running this business. You're figuring out what you're doing, running that business. Lauren is figuring out what she's doing. You have to have some kind of base level of competency and you have to have some understanding of the business, what's going on. You have to be good with people. But anybody that comes into this space as a new founder and says they have it all figured out, you got to run for the hills because
Starting point is 00:24:39 that person's lying to you. And you have to be so comfortable with risk. Like you have to just like, again, it's being a bit delusional, I think is helpful in these situations, but it's like just saying to yourself that you're going to win, even though there's a really solid chance that you lose. The nut that I like, because there's all different flavors on their site, like they have chocolate-covered nuts, regular nuts, all different kinds. I like the dry roasted macadamias. Starting point is 00:28:16 Let's talk about how you guys and you, this is a question for both of you, decided to, I don't even know what you call it, maybe work together? Because I would love to know the behind the scenes. I don't think I've ever asked you this. Talk to the audience. What if we can talk about all the behind the scenes? I was going to say, it was really, it was quite easy. Like it wasn't, it was just a really good idea.
Starting point is 00:28:38 Like it really made sense. We built a beverage company that targets millennial females. You guys own a podcast network that targets millennial females you guys own a podcast network that targets millennial females claudia owns a podcast that claudia and jackie own the podcast that targets millennial females and all of a sudden it's just like why wouldn't all of these things work in conjunction together why if i think i don't know if we've spoken about this but you guys did invest in sports let me let me do like a little actor studio of how my entertainment brain works everything he just said i was like yep yep checks the box i literally called him out of the blue and said hey i had a weird feeling that the girls were maybe
Starting point is 00:29:15 looking for a new home but you did i didn't know this yeah i did i think i think i pitched you sprit society first yeah we talked about sprit society talked about it and then i i thought about the girls and then i was like listen love the brand love the category obviously knew the girls for a while love them loved you and i was like there's a smarter deal to for everybody here i was like right like if if one i just believe if one plus one doesn't always have to equal two it could equal 10 and i was like if you know give a better for the property, give a lot more lift for the business, do things like this. It just was a no-brainer to me. And so I feel like it started as simply as literally just talking on the phone being like, hey, what would this potentially look like?
Starting point is 00:29:54 And then here we are. I mean, there's obviously some nitty-gritty that comes into it. If the audience is listening and doesn't know exactly what we're talking about, maybe Ben can share. Well, we made an investment, both you and I personally, and Dear Media into the business. And then obviously, we worked together and partnered on the show. Yes. So the Morning Toast is partnered with Dear Media. And you guys had a network. Yep. So many incredible podcasts that came with Dear Media. And now everyone's drinking freaking Spritz. I think it's important, though, one, to be a fan of the brand like i mean i love
Starting point is 00:30:27 the brand thank you forget about you guys i love the brand but i also love the podcast like it all makes sense yep it definitely we were talking about this before this wasn't forced like this is this has been like kind of you know in a weird way like you guys have had your community we've had our there's a lot of shared affinity there's also a love between in a respect for what each other are doing i'm like this just makes sense to kind of like blend this whole thing it was so easy yeah we were talking like when we just did a gorgeous photo shoot for what everybody can clearly see every time you say gorgeous beautiful yeah i mean i just talk like claudia like that's it i love it keep going don't change we did a gorgeous photo shoot for sprit society Skinny Confidential Pink Lemonade.
Starting point is 00:31:08 The most wonderful flavor. It really is. It's fucking amazing. Everyone that tries it. And people are going to love it. But we were sitting while you were being gorgeously photographed. Stunning. And we were just saying like how much we fucking hate lawyers.
Starting point is 00:31:23 I hate lawyers. If you're a lawyer, literally jump off a bridge. I'm sorry. much we fucking hate lawyers i hate lawyers if you're a lawyer literally jump off a bridge i'm sorry like i fucking hate you and i and like all of my best friends are lawyers too so like i it is what it is their job is to look for the risk it's to make things complicated the reason why this deal got done so easily is because it was a phone call. Hey, this makes sense. Hey, yes, it does. Hey, good. Done. Was there no lawyers involved?
Starting point is 00:31:50 No, there were when it was done. Like, if you use lawyers in the beginning, the chances of you ever even coming to the table on something is so slim because everybody is looking out for themselves as opposed to seeing what it could be. And just assuming, again, just hoping, okay, we'll figure out all the other stuff. You know, it's hard to give this advice too. And I hate, but I'm just going to tell, this is the actual truth of how this transpired. And I don't, again, this is not how I think it will or should work for everybody. But even Dear Media with my co-founder, we didn't have paperwork.
Starting point is 00:32:22 We had a handshake agreement, me and Raina. We didn't have any paperwork for a year into the business until we actually went and started thinking about going and doing a raise. It was just two people handshaking and agreeing. It's so rare these days, unfortunately, to do things like that. But I agree with you. It's like if we would have started from the beginning fighting over who has this and who has that. You are right that it's each side looking out for themselves.
Starting point is 00:32:45 You are right about that. When you have nothing yet. Right. There's nothing there. Right. Like, what are you doing? Like, get to fucking work and build something and then you can argue over what it's worth.
Starting point is 00:32:57 But you're like arguing over, like, that's why I think it's so funny. Like, people spend so much time incorporating a business and like figuring out all the ways in which it can operate and like preparing for long. It's like, just make the product and sell the product. Yeah. And then if you have a product that's like, you'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:33:15 No, it's like people come, well, they'll pitch us sometimes and it's like, it's an idea. There's nothing there. And they'll be like, listen, you cannot, like we need to own X percent. And you can't, I'm like, there's not, to your point, there's nothing here yet. I don't know what I'm negotiating. There's nothing here yet. Yeah. Like do it first and then we can To your point, there's nothing here yet. I don't know what I'm negotiating for. There's nothing here yet. Yeah, do it first and then we can talk about this. There's nothing here yet.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Well, you know what I think? I think sometimes people use things like trademarks or patents or contracts or lawyers to not execute because they're scared to execute. So what they'll do is to postpone the execution is they'll make up things that they need before they launch. Yep. Or they'll be like, I have to make sure this idea isn't anywhere else or no one can take this idea and they're too wrapped up in the idea to not launch it. Yep.
Starting point is 00:33:57 That's my favorite thing. That people are afraid not to launch businesses because somebody already launched the business. You know how many fucking businesses there are that are the same? I don't think there's one original idea. I was going to say, not to launch businesses because somebody already launched the business. How many fucking businesses there are that are the same? I don't think there's one original idea. I was going to say not to like offend.
Starting point is 00:34:08 There are a lot of dear medias. Of course. There are a lot of canned cocktails. Like it's just can you make it better? Yeah. There are a lot of ice rollers. Oh sorry also
Starting point is 00:34:17 I want to clarify you don't even need to make it better. There are a lot of podcasts. I think we made it better but You made it better. And I think you guys
Starting point is 00:34:24 made it better but there's more than and i think you guys made it better but there's more than enough room to make it the same 100 doesn't even have to be better like it's just bring a novel idea into a digital age take something that is so archaic and move it forward like you don't need to reinvent anything the way i looked at podcasts i'm like listen radio's been what is it 30 40 billion dollars for the last yeah few, I'm like, listen, radio has been, what is it? 30, $40 billion for the last few decades. I'm like, cool. Maybe I'll just have like a sliver of that when that dies, which it will. And it is. And from the outsider's perspective, I always think to myself, what like the podcast or radio, there's no difference. You just called
Starting point is 00:34:58 it something else and took market share. Here's how I explain it to my dad. I say, dad, remember when television went from like cable to on demand? I'm like, this is basically what's happening. And as soon as people realize, oh, I can just choose to listen to what I want to listen to when I want to listen to it, how and where, then like all the brands and all the talents and all the people are like, oh, we'll do that. And the idea of sitting in a car and waiting for your favorite show to come on the radio, it makes no fucking sense anymore. Absolutely none. Even though there's something, I can't explain it. I just can't move away. I can't move away from cable.
Starting point is 00:35:27 I can't do it. I love cable. But do you record your shows? No. I sometimes will just sit there and wait for, I don't know what's going to come. It's good to know that Law & Order is still on. There's still an SVU marathon. Is Law & Order good?
Starting point is 00:35:41 Law & Order SVU. I've never watched it. You're lying. No. Is it good? Yeah. Should I go back and watch it? Law & Order SVU is amazing. I watched it. You're lying. No, is it good? Yeah. Should I go back and watch it? Law and Order SVU is amazing.
Starting point is 00:35:48 I've never seen one episode. What does SVU mean? What? Never. Special Victims Unit. Is it really that good? Yeah. It's like bad good, but like-
Starting point is 00:35:55 No, I like bad good. Yeah. We don't have cable. We don't have- Oh my God. Wait, does Claudia like it? Oh, she loves SVU. Oh, she does.
Starting point is 00:36:02 And Blue Bloods. You watch Blue Bloods? No. Blue Bloods is with, what the hell is his name? Oh, Selick? Tom Selick. Oh, Tom Selick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Him and that mustache. What a hunk. No, I mean. And he's the police chief. It's a fantastic show. You haven't showed me either of these shows. Again, this is bad TV. If you're looking for good TV, watch yellowstone i do she doesn't
Starting point is 00:36:27 fantastic i watch housewives have you been watching the prequel shows housewives like were good i don't know if they're good anymore really i think it's fine which season are you watching like which oh i can't answer i have no idea have you watched potomac potomac's very dynamic i haven't watched no tell claudia to get you on potomac? Potomac's very dynamic. I haven't watched. No. Tell Claudia to get you on Potomac. I'll tell her. I feel like Claudia watches all of it. The insults that Potomac do, you're just like, how is this even existing?
Starting point is 00:36:53 Like, I've never seen anything like it. Okay, I'm excited for this. The shade is unreal. And it's like real relationships. Potomac is the move. I liked Real Housewives of New York. That was one that I really liked. That was the best one. Should we get Claudia on Real Housewives of New York That was one that I really liked That was the best one
Starting point is 00:37:05 Should we get Claudia on Real Housewives of New York? Yeah, we should She'd be good on it She would crush I know She would crush And we could do like a spritz placement Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:37:15 Why did you decide to call it spritz instead of toast? So the idea was not to do it with the toast This was an idea just in and of itself. Like, I loved spritzes. I became like a huge fan of Aperol spritzes. I would go to restaurants and I'd see on the menu that they had all these different versions. Like, it started with an Aperol spritz. And it's a NoHo spritz, a SoHo spritz, a blueberry spritz.
Starting point is 00:37:41 And I just realized spritz just meant effervescent and colorful. Oh, my God. They asked me to describe my collab with spritz a blueberry spritz and all i just realized spritz just meant effervescent and colorful oh my god they asked me to describe my collab with spritz and that's exactly what i said colorful and effervescent effervescent but i can't pronounce it go on there you go or bubbly and i didn't see anything like that in this booming rtd space rtd is ready to drink and it is just ripe for disruption so i wanted to make canned spritz and the original name of the brand was just spritz and i thought i could get away with that and every lawyer under the sun because again just beating me down beating me down before i had any fucking product they're like no ben you can't name it spritz there's no ip around spritz you can't do it because everybody was saying like everybody just around spritz you can't do it because everybody
Starting point is 00:38:25 was saying like everybody just says spritz you can't own spritz but i said i have the instagram handle spritz s-p-r-i-t-z is that hard enough to get yeah it is how'd you get that how'd you get i don't tell my secrets yeah who'd you have to fuck i don't i don't tell my secrets i don't tell my secrets that is not an easy one to get no it's buried in an alley somewhere the best part about it if you because it's verified, even if you're at Aperol Sports, the first thing that comes up. Smart.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Ooh, Aperol should have gone. Yeah, they should have. That was, that was fun. They should have, they missed it.
Starting point is 00:38:53 But, maybe they'll come back half a billion dollars later. I was going to say, they can come by it. But, we like went through like 10,000 horrible names.
Starting point is 00:39:04 And, at some point during all of this, I put out the survey We like went through like 10,000 horrible names. And at some point during all of this, I put out the survey to our audience asking them their opinions on logos, flavors, can designs, alcohol percentage. And we called that group the Spurts Society because it's the society that voted on spurts flavors. And when looking back at it, we're just like, we have the name. The name's right there it's been there the whole time we're not going to call it something random that's for society you went and dm'd hundreds if not thousands thousands and thousands and thousands of people okay by hand
Starting point is 00:39:37 i'm so impressed by this talk about how you built the business by involving the community and making it community driven we put together a google form a Google form of questions that we needed answered. Like what was the base alcohol that you wanted to see? What percentage? Because all these studies were coming out that people wanted something sessionable. So they wanted something less than 4%. Then you'd hear studies that people want something that's harder and 10%. So we asked them what type of alcohol, what alcohol by volume, size can, logos. We sent them like six different cans. And I just DM'd people that had public profiles that had friends in the images. So if it was you by yourself, I didn't DM you.
Starting point is 00:40:22 If it was you with a friend and like I'd look through and clearly you were a social person, I would send you the form. So if you were some loner, you just got booted up. If you were a fucking loser, you didn't get the form. No. And if you were private, you didn't get the form. You didn't get the form.
Starting point is 00:40:37 So as you're building this, will you continue to involve the community? I know for our collab, we decided to do that. So we actually reached out to my audience and your audience and asked them about our collab, we decided to do that. So we actually reached out to my audience and your audience and asked them about flavor. Will you continue to do that? Yeah, every single time because we can pretend that we know more than them. But if they're going to be the ones that are buying the product and consuming the product, why wouldn't you make what they want? I'll tell you where I think this stands out. Most canned wines are sweet. They're syrupy sweet,
Starting point is 00:41:09 and they also leave this weird aftertaste that's really off-putting. This one doesn't. It's almost like a dry, refreshing spritzy, but also doesn't leave a weird aftertaste at all, and it's way cuter. Thank you. And I can tell you why it doesn't leave like a weird aftertaste at all. And it's way cuter. Thank you. And I can tell you why it doesn't leave an aftertaste. Yes. Tell us why. It's sugar. It's not fake sugar. It's not aspartame. It's not monk fruit. It's not you name it. Like, no. Six grams of real sugar is not why I'm fat. I'm fat because I eat sandwiches in the middle of the night. What kind of sandwiches?
Starting point is 00:41:48 Turkey is great. Just plain turkey? Or like I'll toast a bagel with tuna. Do you use pepperoncinis? What is that? Ugh! Pepperoncinis? Pepperoncinis?
Starting point is 00:41:56 Oh, a little. Okay. Yeah. By the way, you said that you couldn't pronounce it. I can't pronounce it. You didn't say that word. I can't. I don't.
Starting point is 00:42:02 I make up for it. There's people that literally. I know the pepperoncinis. You said people that literally I know the pepperoncinis you said you said if you if you ever had the pepperoncinis I'm like
Starting point is 00:42:09 what the hell are you talking about I say a pepperoncini pepperoncini yeah I don't know what that is they go on our they go on our reviews and they write bad reviews
Starting point is 00:42:17 because she can't I'm like listen oh come on we don't we can't it's not gonna change it she's been this way forever I've been like this
Starting point is 00:42:23 since I was born yeah I don't know what that is I can't't say she doesn't take the show seriously she doesn't go do you put pepperoncinis on your sandwich i don't but i should a hundred percent yeah i definitely would that category by the way it needs a real shake up if anyone's down for it it needs a whole rebrand i i think about this all the time that category it's a pepperoncini is so good on a sandwich so good a big one with the top cut off and the shit squeezed out of it oh yeah keep the little like seeds in it i mean what's better nothing thank you agreed they're delicious what's on your sandwich in the middle of the night turkey okay that's it onions lettuce avocado mayo i love mayo oh only full fat full fat almonds oh yeah
Starting point is 00:43:09 full fat mayo like what's the brand best foods almonds almonds oh i think best foods is now i think they might be owned by the same people because it's the helmans bottle that primal kitchen tastes pretty similar to all these yeah i'm sure it does you're suspicious i'm not buying it no okay that was the most skeptical look i've ever seen yeah they all these you've been watching too many tiktok ads i have yeah where they just like show you they're like yeah this is exactly the same as that no it's not it can't be if you know anything about me you know i am serious about my morning routines. And I tried to get Zaza, my daughter, into morning routines too, just little ones. I want her to have structure in the morning and get excited. One of the things that we do is we have a children's vitamin,
Starting point is 00:43:58 but most of them are filled with so much shit, like five grams of sugar, and they contribute to a variety of health issues, which is crazy. Haya, the one I use, comes in a cute yellow box. It comes with stickers. It's made with zero sugar and zero gummy junk, and it tastes amazing. How do I know? I've tried it, and my daughter asks for it every single morning. And the best part, it fills in the most common gaps in a child's diet. So you're going to get vitamin D, vitamin B12, C, zinc, folate. It's also non-GMO, vegan, dairy-free, allergy-free, gelatin-free, nut-free, and everything else you can imagine. And it's truly designed for kids of all ages. The best part, it's sent straight to your door. So you don't have anything to worry about. You don't
Starting point is 00:44:42 have to go digging and see if there's like all these unhealthy chemicals and how much sugar. You just know what you're getting. It's a pediatrician approved chewable vitamin. Zaza is obsessed with the pink. It also comes in yellow and green. Starting point is 00:48:45 I actually read Claude's book. I loved it. 10 out of 10. If you guys haven't read her book, her book is so good. Where do you guys see the whole brand, including the Morning Toast and Spritz Society going? Like what's the overall picture? Oh, what a great question. And do you guys talk about this in kind of a line?
Starting point is 00:49:03 We really just we just run and then we look back and kind of align? We really just run. And then we look back and we're like, wow. Intuition. Yeah, but there isn't outward planning for what these collectively will look like. Because again, I don't know. I guess you can chase towards a collective vision. But to me, it's build Spritz Society into the brand that we know that it can be. And then build another business like it.
Starting point is 00:49:28 Understand how to build consumer products and beverages and leverage our audiences to help us create what they're looking for. That's on the product side. And then on Claudia's side, I mean, she'll tell you she's going to keep touring. She's an unbelievable stand-up comic i cannot believe didn't she sell out in new york or like madison square gardens hulu theater that is so gnarly does she realize how gnarly that is yeah it was crazy it was crazy like what are you doing when this is happening i'm i'm at every show that was probably the best
Starting point is 00:50:01 part about launching an alcohol company was that we could sell into all of her theaters and activate them live. So it would be a tasting extravaganza for 8,000 fans, giving them exposure to it at once. And I would get to go with her to every show. So I saw 98% of these shows. So watching her from the first show to the last show was like, it was unbelievable because she just got that much better. What has it been like to watch the evolution and to bear witness to it? Because I feel like in the book, she says that you guys started dating very, very early on into all this, right?
Starting point is 00:50:39 We dated, we started dating before Girl With No Job existed. And even before the handle was there. How old were you guys? 20 and 18 were you was it love did you guys was it college retards childhood college college college did you fall in love at first sight yeah like oh my god if you said that like that oh no like i need a little more enthusiasm i want to do it again no yeah no no no because i love her more than anything and by the way in the 10 years that we've been together we haven't broken up once there was no breaks there was no nothing like the second we dated
Starting point is 00:51:09 we dated for we were all in and like madly in love from the second we started dating but there's a difference between love at first sight and the second that you were dating there was like a probably a three month period of like should we do this should we not do this and then we did it and then we were all fucking in like not separated at all no no and i became so disgustingly attached like codependent yeah yeah like it sounds like michael talking like for like the first year i was definitely crazy like obsessed obsessed i don't feel bad lauren's been crazy for the whole time so i was gonna say the nine years after the first year claudia's been crazy for the whole time so I was gonna say the nine years after the first year Claudia's been crazy but the first year I was crazy speak for yourself I'm not crazy I don't believe that Claudia's crazy I would think that you're more self-awareness at this table is
Starting point is 00:51:54 lacking she's definitely crazy I'm crazy too though we're both crazy admit that you're crazy oh I know I'm fucking nuts but we're all crazy for a toaster that's listening that doesn't know something about you guys' relationship, what's something that maybe you guys haven't told? Tell us a secret. We exclusively talk at home in weird accents. Give us an example. I don't even know if I can do them. I might get canceled.
Starting point is 00:52:23 We just talk in weird weird accents we also like we're always singing like our house is like in song and we'll always like talk to our dog and like i'm like trying to think like so so we will so our dog's name is theo and theo eats dinner and Theo's dinner is crunchy. So we call him crunchy dinner tigs because Theo tigs is short for Theo. And we will just like use crunchy dinner tigs in like songs. Like we will like take a popular song and like infuse that into it. I can't think of a great-
Starting point is 00:53:04 I'm gonna need an example of the song. You're going to have to give one note. Claudia gave a note when she came on. She gave a couple notes. You have to give one note. We barely even, we actually didn't even ask her to give notes. She just broke out.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Yeah, she's great at that. She's great at just emerging into song. I know you have to think. When something comes, it'll- Just slide it in. I'll slide it in. I'll just, the second it comes, I'll just, I'll just go into, but she's far better at the impromptu songs. What's the balance of you guys' relationship? For instance, I am, I I'd like to think more creative than Michael and Michael's more logical. And Michael is, has a macro
Starting point is 00:53:43 perspective. What's, what's you and Claudia's? I actually think we're the total opposite. Total opposite. How so? She is very, very, very planning oriented. She is very, she's just very, very smart. Very smart. She always sees trouble lurking around the corner.
Starting point is 00:54:04 I'll pay them. Well, and you're a compliment. What always sees trouble lurking around the corner. I'll pay them. Well, and you're a compliment. What I was saying to Lauren, because she kind of told you a little bit, we were talking about you guys and I was saying, yes, there's talent that all of you have. That's a given, but I see talent all the time. That's the business now is you see talent all the time. You see very few talented people willing to put themselves in a position where they're constantly executing and humbling themselves at the same time. You see very few talented people willing to put themselves in a position where they're constantly executing and humbling themselves at the same time. I see you guys showing up at every store event and meeting with your community and not doing what a typical celebrity couple would do. You guys actually put yourself in the mix. And when it comes to,
Starting point is 00:54:39 we were talking about negotiating, you guys are very savvy business people, especially for your age and experience level. And I told Lauren this, I'm like, anybody that thinks that what's come to you guys has just been like luck and like sister bond and like, oh, like talent. That's not true. And I have witnessed it firsthand because I've been on the other side of the negotiating table. I've been on the other side of the investment table. I've seen you guys put in the work and that is a rare thing. And when I talk to people in this industry, and even if they're entertainers, I'm like, listen, you could be the most talented person in the world, but if you don't know how to humble yourself and you don't
Starting point is 00:55:14 know how to put in the fucking work, you're only going to get so far. So I guess what I'm saying to you is nothing that I've seen from you guys is surprising to me because I see what it takes on the back end. You don't just phone it in. And thank you for that. Even to take it a step further, no one understands how hard Claudia works. No one understands it. They'll just look at her and they'll think, oh, she does an hour podcast a day and then she goes home and she's on her phone.
Starting point is 00:55:40 That girl is 24-7 working. Nobody knows pop culture. I'm confident in saying this. Nobody knows pop culture in the entire world like her. I also think... I don't understand how she has that much information at the tip of her tongue. Well, she's quick with her thoughts.
Starting point is 00:55:57 Yes. She also, to be able to perform in front of 8,000 people... Yeah. And have an act. Not once. And by the way, keep people engaged, especially in a day and age when everyone wants to pick up their phone and there's 5 million fucking distractions is incredibly impressive. I guess what I'm saying though, and this is for maybe aspiring creators or aspiring
Starting point is 00:56:16 entrepreneurs out there, like you could be the most talented person. You could be quick. You could be witty. You could be funny. You can have the right connections. But if you don't put in the fucking work, it doesn't matter. And I mean that from all levels. I see all these different people coming through the doors of Dear Mead and I'm like, my first thing I look for is like,
Starting point is 00:56:31 is this person going to put in the work? I always tell people like, I don't work for you, this is a partnership. If I'm going to put in the work and I'm going to extend our resources and hustle this hard for you, what are you going to do? If you're expecting to sit back and just have it handed to you, there's no way. There's no way. It's not going to work. Maybe it works for a year. Maybe it works for two. You see all these people, they rise real quick on these platforms. I want to see somebody that rises quick and then stays there for at least five years, at least. Because you see all these people, they fly up and then they wash out because they don't put in the work. All right. Why did you decide? Why did Spritz Society decide to pair up with Skinny Confidential?
Starting point is 00:57:08 What was the thought process on you guys' end? You have such a great community and such a strong vision for your brand that it seemed like a really, really great natural extension for our first collab with somebody that can talk to their community the way that we talk to our community and aesthetically will allow us to create something that's beautiful the pink the tone it's perfect it really it's it's really and i can't stress enough how unbelievable this tastes. Guys, when I tried it, I usually have six billion edits. I just do. I'm very specific with what I like. I know what is going to translate to social media, flat lays.
Starting point is 00:58:00 When I tried this, I was freaking out. I looked at Michael and Weston and I was like, they got it. It wasn't even like, I don't know, when I tried this, I was freaking out. I looked at Michael and Weston and I was like, they got it. Like it was, it wasn't even like, I don't know, like, can we, it was, they got it. It's so good. And I'm honestly so annoyed that we didn't make more. Yeah. Like we. I know. It's going to sell out so quickly.
Starting point is 00:58:19 I know. It tastes so good. It really does. Everyone on the shoot today was freaking out. All the girls in the office, the team, everyone is such a fan. I have not heard one negative thing about it. I am just so excited it's here. We picked Pink Lemonade because obviously Pink pulled the brand through. But I put lemon on pizza, pasta, brownies, chocolate. I literally take a bar of chocolate and squeeze lemon on it.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Michael knows this. It's absolutely insane. How do you do that? I put it on pepperoncinis. But how do you put it on a brownie? So I take a brownie. You just spray it. Try this.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Everyone should try it. And I put it on a brownie. Actually, lemon and chocolate. It's a lemony chocolate brownie. Try it, Ben, in the middle of the night. Just try it. I'll set my alarm. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Literally, it's so good but also if you don't put lemon on pizza or pasta or sandwiches everything needs lemon. Name something that doesn't need lemon. I almost don't like I get a little worried
Starting point is 00:59:13 talking to Ben about food because sometimes I see these places and I'm like he's a real he knows what he's doing and if I go to the city I don't really want Ben to see what I'm eating.
Starting point is 00:59:20 I'm probably eating in the slums compared to you. I gotta be careful of like Can you just stop? I'll recommend somewhere. No, no. Ben got us into Carbone. I know he did. And people were messaging me being like who did you have to blow to get in Carbone? Well Lauren you didn't have to do it.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Yeah. The worst thing I ever did was tell people that I have that hook. Oh sorry we can edit it out. No it's fine me and Josh like it's now a running joke on our podcast where it's just like Carbone, carbone, carbone. And God forbid I get one item off the bill. I mean, it's kind of like us in Mountain Valley.
Starting point is 00:59:53 It is, but it's a testament to both of these brands. They're just still. They're just great. Yeah. This is great water. It is. It's good with lemon. I'm hoping that when I get to like episode 600, they might send me a case.
Starting point is 01:00:07 How do you pronounce this? Oh, a cheat. Oh. Let me pronounce it. Oh, cheetah? I'll say it right. I have a feeling it's Washita. Washita.
Starting point is 01:00:14 But I'm probably wrong. All I know is it's not from the Washita mountains. They're lying. Oh. They have to be lying. Maybe that's how I'll get their attention. Just start despairing. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:23 Just start telling them. It's from like down the road you know maybe a spokesperson can come on here and speak up for them you know where LaCroix is from
Starting point is 01:00:31 you know where they make LaCroix where yes LaCroix Wisconsin that's not surprising to me I'm just saying
Starting point is 01:00:38 when I first heard the brand I thought it was LaCroix and I thought it was like some foreign like amazing new seltzer brand and it's no it's LaCroix Wisconsin I thought it was like some foreign like amazing new seltzer brand and it's no it's Lacroix Wisconsin I feel like that's trickery isn't it a little it's marketing I mean it's pretty good though like fucking Evian they make you think it's great water it's disgusting but
Starting point is 01:00:56 Spritz Society really is great unbelievable guys our collab is out it's live you can shop it tell everyone where they can find it. Can we do a giveaway? Yes. Okay. What's the handle that you got through GoDaddy that you probably... Yeah. So you're going to go to SpritzSociety.com.

I like to take it and put it in a huge wine glass with tons of ice. And then I like to put a sprig of basil. Love that.

Oh God, don't do that when I was younger. I can't. When people are like, I did ballet when I was
Starting point is 01:02:29 one and a half and it's like, oh my God, this is not relevant conversation. I quit before I was able to ride a cart and I think that carrying the bags, 18 holes really just determined.

Starting point is 01:03:13 I was going to say, you'd probably better driving the ball. That's true. I'd like to go. You are a little bit too strong for the short game. I feel like you don't have much touch. And let me tell you. I have touch. You do?
Starting point is 01:03:23 Yeah, I think so. Yeah, he's pretty good at. And let me tell you. I have touch. You do? Yeah, I think so. Yeah, he's pretty good at touch. Let me tell you. The worst thing ever is going somewhere with a wine bottle and not having a wine opener. And that's why this solves everyone's problems. You always forget a wine opener. And now you don't need to worry about it. Yep.
Starting point is 01:03:39 Just pop it open. And four of these is equivalent to one bottle of wine. Yes. I feel like brute strength is not good on the course though right i feel like it's all for brute strength is good for driving the ball but what they say is drive for show putt for dough yeah that's you need the touch yeah i need the touch so just like stop working you know what i think i would have more fun would you be okay with that with him not working out i would it. If he just like stopped working out

Starting point is 01:04:17 And incorporate it into your regimen. I need to do these things to get my mind right. I understand. You know? Yeah. I do understand that.
Starting point is 01:04:27 Well, maybe if I played golf, I just need an activity. Get him an activity. I love that we've reached 2023 where we now can start skinny shaming people or like shaming people that are like in shape. Because that's like, I do that all the time. Like, oh, you're so strong like what are you spending so much time in the gym he gets out of the ice bath and the ice bath like will constrict everything and he'll walk out with his muscles like fucking mighty mouse waiting for me to say something flexing so hard the veins are popping out of his neck

Cheers. Today is the day. That's right. The Skinny Confidential has teamed up with Spritz Society,
Starting point is 01:07:49 the award-winning sparkling wine cocktail, which is created by mega entrepreneurs and brand builders Claudia and Jackie Ostry of The Toast. I have done so many collabs with them. We've been on each other's podcast, and this made so much sense to me. So what we did is we had tons of different taste testing rounds,
Starting point is 01:08:31 and this one won. They only use like natural cane sugar to naturally sweeten the liquid, but it's not too sweet. You know what I mean? We have a code and the code is
Starting point is 01:09:14 nowhere else. It's also very limited edition. So this is not something that's going to be online forever. In fact, I think it's going to sell out very quickly. You can use code skinny spritz for an extra 10% off for TSC listeners, and you can purchase two packs at $50 or three packs at 70. Spritz Society Pink Lemonade by The Skinny Confidential available at spritzsociety.com slash TSC. I went on and bought my own packs today. I'm so excited to get this in the mail. Comes in a cute box. I hope you love it. Use code skinny spritz.
