All right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right, welcome to the skinny
confidential him and her podcast.
We are here.
This is our first one.
We're so excited.
I'm Lauren. I'm the creator of the Skinny Confidential. Some of you guys know me from my blog and we've also got my
fiance Michael here and Jordan. I will let Michael go ahead and introduce himself before we get
started. I'm Michael, Lauren's fiance, the creative behind the Skinny Confidential. I'm just kidding.
I'm not. But yeah. I'm Lauren's fiance.
I've been involved with this brand
and business since the get.
And
recent Snapchat phenomenon.
Oh my god.
Wow, that's an entrance.
We got my sister Jordan
here. She's...
I'm over here. She's off camera. We didn't have enough room
to get her in the shot. We needed to keep the focus where the focus needed to here. She's off camera. You know, we didn't have enough room to get her in the shot.
We needed to keep the focus where the focus needed to be.
He's so rude.
I've never seen Riddler.
I feel like Adele.
I'm over here.
I'm like, hello.
For those of you that are listening and not watching, we only have one camera set up,
and it's focused primarily on me.
No, he wanted himself in the main picture.
You know what?
I'm the one winning here because I get to wear my pajamas and be comfortable.
If you see me awkwardly
looking off to the side
or I guess if you're listening
you can't see me
but if you see me
I'm looking at Jordan.
Yeah, if we're looking
to the side
it's at Jordan.
So just like imagine Jordan
how you guys want to imagine her
and maybe one day
she'll make it on screen.
I'm really sweet
and pretty and nice.
Okay, but Michael
tell the viewers
who you are
like give like a little background like a little synopsis on you.
You just want to know.
Tell us what's your job, what's your Snapchat username.
Besides getting bossed around by you.
No, I'm a career entrepreneur.
I have a business called Jetbed that I run with my dad.
We started it as a side business after I got my ass kicked in a few real estate deals.
And it's now the leading provider of beds for corporate and private aircraft.
Oprah has one.
Well, I don't think we're supposed to say that.
Why? She does.
Okay.
And then, yeah, I help Lauren with her business.
I have a marketing company that runs traffic on Google and Facebook for businesses and brands and products.
And, yeah.
And then I'll have Jordan, I guess, introduce herself so she can kind of just tell us.
Describe what you look like so people know.
I am five feet, brown hair, brown eyes, long straight hair.
I'm drinking some whiskey right now.
I help Lauren and Michael out with their businesses.
I'm kind of behind the scenes.
I call myself Wrangler in chief.
Yeah, she does wrangle us.
I do wrangle.
When I'm trying to schedule Lauren for whatever thing she's supposed to do.
You are trying.
Trying.
And I'm having a meltdown.
Jordan comes in and helps me calm down.
Jordan's good.
Jordan keeps me organized.
She's a big part
of the Skinny Confidential.
Her and Michael
definitely help
the behind the scenes functions.
And she's kind of
going to mediate the podcast.
So that'll be fun.
She's going to make sure
we don't get into a cat fight.
And we're having some champagne.
Michael's drinking scotch,
but we decided to go for it.
Needed to calm the nerves.
This is the second time we've done this podcast. We did it the first time and Lauren came
in very, very professional. I was a little bit more laid back. She came in like Barbara Walters
on steroids. She was sitting at the desk like this. I like didn't understand what a podcast was.
Like I thought it was like a YouTube tutorial. She's like, hello and welcome to our radio show.
No, I thought it was like a YouTube tutorial.
So I was dressed up.
It threw the whole vibe off.
They asked me if I wanted a drink.
I was like, absolutely not.
This is serious.
At one point she said, stop, cut this.
We can edit this part out.
Yeah, I thought we could edit.
I thought she was joking.
And so I kind of looked at her strange.
I was like, hello and welcome to the Skinny Confidential.
We have, in the background here, you can't see him.
We have Taylor.
Taylor works for me for a long time.
He's kind of our.
Taylor's like literally chugging a beer as fast as he can.
He's chugging a beer.
Oh, he just spilled a little bit on his lips.
Do not spill on my white couch.
Are you using a coaster?
He says that.
Anyways, so he's's gonna be kind of our
engineer on the show kind of like uh i don't know what do you call him he's literally the
engineer he's like making sure this is happening he's certainly not the editor
there's no sound camera everything going on back there yeah technical he really won't let go that
we should have called this show the good, The Bad, and The Skinny.
He keeps, like, literally... He's watched one too many Clint Eastwood shows.
Yeah, I feel like that.
I don't know if I'm the good or the bad.
I'm not the skinny, I don't think.
He's like, let's make that the hashtag.
It's like, uses 140 characters, just the hashtag.
I know.
So, anyways.
So, we got Taylor, we got Jordan, we got Michael,
and I guess, for those of you who are wondering why podcast.
Like podcasting is like such a different kind of thing.
I feel like not a lot of people our age are doing it.
It's becoming more and more popular.
And I feel like the reason that we decided to podcast is because Snapchat was so like interesting for us.
And so engaging and so stimulating that
a podcast is the next natural sort of step. Yeah, I liked it because ever since I took over
Snapchat game, I'm getting a lot of questions and I'm always in a scramble trying to answer it in
15 seconds. You're so popular. Yeah, yeah. I'm getting up there. I'm like the next DJ Khaled.
I don't even know what that means well you gotta
step up your snap game
so
I just thought
that this would be
a good outlet
because we can actually
talk which we both
like to do
we love to talk honey
I feel like
people are like
how do you guys
like have a conversation
we don't
I just talk for a while
and you talk
and then we just leave
and nobody knows
what each other said
no I feel
I leave you bullets
the other day
I sent you a text
that like had bullets
in it of what to do
and you hit every single bullet.
And I was so proud and I was like,
oh my God, I'm going to do this every single day.
And I left you a green smoothie as a reward.
So I feel like it worked really well.
All you need to do is leave me a smoothie
and I will mail it to you.
There's a couple other things I need to do.
Jordan's giving a weird face.
I like green smoothie.
I mean, I know that's good for you and all that,
but maybe like a brownie or...
So anyways, why we podcast?
So we podcast because of Snapchat.
I mean, Jordan, what do you think?
Like, what do you think?
Like, was that like the next natural step for us?
Like, why do you think podcasting...
There was actually somebody that just messaged me today.
I got the Anchor app recently.
I don't know if any of you are on Anchor.
I tried messing around with it.
I tried to make a little radio show of my own.
But there, it's only two minutes, and this girl messaged me on Snapchat and said,
What the hell are you doing?
I joined Anchor to listen to you, and you got off Anchor.
And so she said, You better be working on a podcast.
And I said, Look, I kind of am working on a podcast.
Yeah, I mean, I think a podcast is the most natural step.
You guys are hilarious on Snapchat.
And I think we've kind of been living in this like parallel universe watching you guys separately.
So I think bringing it together and having like one story and one message where you guys can communicate with people is going to be a quite interesting experiment.
So we're going to see how it goes.
And we're not going to edit.
Like we're literally not going to edit.
Like what you see is what you get.
Oh, now we're not going to edit.
Take three.
Take three.
No, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. No, you aren't. Take time. Um, we're not going to edit.
I'm not going to act like I'm Diane Sawyer on the evening news, like reporting live. Like
it's not like professional. It's going to be super laid back. We're going to be drinking,
grab a drink if you're listening. And, um, so if you guys want to ask us questions, we created a hashtag.
And it took us like 45 minutes to decide because there's 500 opinions.
And Taylor wants to do the good, the bad, the skinny, the ugly, the pretty.
Like as a hashtag, you can't do that.
It doesn't even fit.
But anyways, we finally decided on a hashtag.
It's super fucking simple.
And it's ask him and her.
So hashtag ask him and her on Twitter.
Where do they send this? Can they do Twitter?
They can do Twitter. They've got it on Snapchat.
Snap, you can't do a hashtag. I feel like you guys could ask us questions.
You could just ask questions on Snapchat.
And you could maybe just comment on Instagram once in a while.
I don't think there's... Yeah, you can comment on Instagram
and like use the hashtag in the
comment section. Maybe if this
takes off, which I hope it will...
What do you mean? It's already taking off.
We probably have two listeners.
Pixie and Boo.
We'll get like an email going,
huh Jordan?
Yeah,
we'll figure something out,
but for now,
yeah,
hashtag ask him and her
spelled out using A-N-D,
not the and sign.
Oh,
good call,
because I always use the and sign.
It's actually spelled out,
so it's A,
how do you spell it?
I'm kind of buzzed,
I feel like.
Ask him and her. It's spelled out, because the ampersand you spell it i'm kind of buzzed i feel like ask him and her
spelled out because the ampersand doesn't yeah maybe yeah so spell it out yeah no ampersand and
a and d okay so this is our first podcast it's really important that you guys subscribe that
you go on itunes download this podcast subscribe subscribe, subscribe, subscribe, tell your friends, tell your family,
tweet it out, share it.
Give me a huge five-star rating.
I mean, it's not just you, but that's
cute that you just talk about yourself. There's four
people here.
So, subscribe to
our podcast and
hashtag any questions you have because
we will be answering them live.
You are not going to want to miss it answering them live um you are not gonna want to
miss it guys you are not gonna you're gonna want to stay tuned every single week yeah that's like
we want you is it gonna be every week is it gonna be every week it's gonna be every week it's gonna
be every week it's gonna be every week so yeah you can't shut us up we could go i feel like we
could go okay wait so i feel like now that you guys know hashtag ask him and her you can you
know what's kind of going on here.
I want to,
I think everyone needs to know like your backstory.
Like let's give like the backstory of this relationship.
Cause obviously you guys are working together and a lot of couples are
incapable of working together.
So like,
let's start talking about that.
Okay.
Well,
I'll like generalize the story and then Michael can like jump in with
specifics.
So tell how you met,
tell you met.
This'll be good.
Everyone. Okay, this will be good. Tell how you met. Tell how you met. This will be good. Everyone, okay.
We met in sixth grade.
I was like six foot one.
No, I wasn't.
Did you shrink?
No, I was five seven,
like the height I am
and I had like gone through puberty
so I had like these huge tits.
And I was four two.
And Michael was literally like three one.
Wait, and Michael also had the longest hair. His I was 4'2". And Michael was literally like 3'1". Wait, and Michael also
had the longest hair.
His hair was longer than yours. No, his hair was so
cute though. I was so into his hair.
I had the old middle part flip.
You know, the one from Dawson's
Creek. So Dawson's Creek.
I was like certainly Joey
and you were Dawson. Who's Joey?
The star of Dawson's Creek in
homes. Okay, so anyways.
So I was in sixth grade.
I was all bloomed puberty-wise.
I was like,
I feel like I looked like a 21-year-old
when I was in sixth grade for some reason.
Anyways,
Michael was on the playground,
3-1, playing.
Well, let's back it up.
You came in middle semester
from transfer or something.
Transfer. I looked over. I was playing kickballball about to drive one home and i looked over and just saw these big cans coming at me and i thought and it was love
i had a girlfriend at the time and i was like later i'm going to that no so so we got together
sixth grade he took me to star wars the movie um I was asleep the whole time. Was that when we were in? Yeah, he took me to Star Wars.
Remember I was wearing like
DC shoes? Like remember those shoes
that everyone loved? Anyway. Yep. So
we had like this
like cute love affair from like
sixth grade to eighth grade.
And we did everything
together and everyone thought I was his
babysitter. Like no joke.
Babe, everyone thought I was your babysitter. Like people were like, Oh my God, not with those braces. They didn't.
My braces were literally, did you have braces? I don't remember. Did I have braces?
She opted for clear choice when you're eating pizza every day, like dreadful choice, dreadful
choice. It wasn't the best choice. Okay. So okay so but you you were still obsessed i feel like like you were obsessed anyways cans or races
so okay i'm going i'm telling the story too long okay so we were in seventh grade we went to eighth
grade um i ended up going like for an older guy because we're in eighth grade you like you were like kind of doing
your thing with like in eighth grade like during PE yeah my thing was called getting ignored by
every girl and no you were still hot so anyway okay so we broke up and then we went to high
school same high school but we went like we dating other people, um, weren't together during college. And then we
reconnected during college. We were like 21. I feel like I haven't been able to get rid of her
since. Oh, please. Um, he invited me to Las Vegas. I was 21. I was dating someone at the time. I was
so over it. And he just basically said, come to Vegas. It'll be fun. And I was like, what the hell? Went to Vegas. Um, we made out, I woke up the next morning with a tiara on my head and a
bottle of champagne next to me. And there you were. It's kind of been history ever since. So
some people think that we've been dating since literally sixth grade, which is not the case.
We've definitely had other experiences and, and haven't been dating that long.
But we've been friends the whole time.
Long story short, fast forward.
I was working on some business stuff.
She was, what were you doing, bartending?
I was bartending and I was teaching peer bar.
Yeah, and she kept talking about this idea
for this blog and she wanted to do it and I finally
got so sick of listening about it that I said just go do it.
This was over oysters and champagne.
You were like really wooing me at this time.
And now we're here.
And that's the story.
Now we're here.
He said pull the trigger on the Skinny Confidential.
I remember when you started the Skinny Confidential and everyone was like, Lauren, you're a freaking
alien.
Why are you bringing your camera everywhere, taking pictures of everything?
And now it's just funny.
Fast forward a few years later.
Now I know when the dinner comes i wait
she takes the picture then i don't have to say no one got it at first though michael has never
ever been like what are you doing why are you taking pictures he's been the only one that like
got my idea and like got it from the beginning and that was so refreshing um it's one of the
reasons i've kept him around yeah i feel like a lot of people, they have this idea and they talk to their friend or their family and they get a little bit of discouragement.
And so they just completely give up.
And my whole thing throughout my life and every approach is why not try it and take a chance and see what happens.
I mean, look where we are now.
She's got a worldwide brand.
Yeah.
It's awesome.
All those
taking pictures during all those dinners was the right move. Good job. That was the right move,
but not at dinner because that lighting in the orange was really dreadful. And if you look back
from the beginning of my blog, those pictures, I like cringe when I look at, but I also think that
you should tell the story, honey. Um, this is where I was talking about specifics of when we were in sixth grade and we got in trouble when we were dating we got in big
trouble oh the the old closet story the old closet okay I'll take you down there
we are hashtag the old closet story hashtag yeah hashtag hashtag the old
closet story um so we were in about seventh grade i was going into seven going into
seven this was like a delmar fair lauren somehow i weaseled my way over to her house when her
dad was out of the house you were a weasel and um i was doing my very best to get what i could get
for to say and i really didn't even know what i was trying to get like yeah so we get there and
we're in the bed and we're fooling around and like not like fooling around like having sex we were
like no we're you were like feeling but i got the top off i got the top off how did you do that and
all of a sudden i hear the sound of pixie pixie just had a table this is. This is my girl, Pixie. Pixie's getting jealous that we're talking about.
Pixie's our chihuahua.
Okay.
Road dog.
She's our road dog.
Road dog.
Taylor, you're not allowed to talk.
I'm just kidding.
Anyways, so we...
Hold on.
I've got to put her down.
So we were fooling around, and all of a sudden I hear the dad come home.
Brad, if you're watching this, hello?
My dad loves you now, though.
No, I want him over.
So anyways,
he comes home.
I start freaking out.
I don't know what to do.
Lauren says, hide, hide in the closet.
You gotta picture this like a movie.
The closet's one of those closets that has
the little, what do you call those? The little blind?
The sliding doors?
Oh, like the little
shutters. My idea is though, like, you know, now like hiding in the closet, like you would never
do that. Like my ideas are always like the worst, the worst, but let me get through this story.
So she got the shutters and it's those things where you can kind of like creep the shutters
open and see out the blinds. You know what I mean? And so I'm in there and I'm like, okay,
I'll be fine here. There's no way the dad's going to come look in here.
But then, Lauren, being the genius that she was
at the time, decides to jump in the closet
with me. I thought it was like...
So I'm thinking there, the only thing I could think in my brain was...
I thought I was preserving both of us. All I could think was
I'm completely fucked.
Like, there's, like, he's here,
I'm, you know, I'm four foot two
at the time, her shirt's off,
we're in the closet. I feel like you were like three, two.
And so I look outside.
And at that age, like dads are scary.
Like you're like, oh my gosh.
You were like so nervous.
So I look out the little, the blinds and I'm like, oh God.
Like, and I see her five or six year old sister, Hi Faye.
Shout out to Faye.
She's looking under the bed thinking it's some kind of game, like a hide and go seek game.
And I'm, my heart's racing.
I'm sweating at this point. All of a sudden the door is ripped open brad thinks it's a game but brad
is lauren's dad hi brad he's laughing and then all of a sudden he sees me and it goes from complete
smile to complete rage and the next thing i know your shirt was off my shirt was off you didn't
get the bra oh no what did you do lauren i my dad caught me, my shirt was off. You didn't get the bra. What did you do, Lauren?
My dad caught me with my shirt off.
I would die.
I would literally die.
Don't worry about that, Lauren.
That's a different story for another day because your dad has caught me with my shirt off.
That's another story.
It's not what she did.
It's what I did.
And I basically just shit my pants.
But not really, but almost.
And the next thing I knew, i was in his car i was being
driven down the road let off on the side of the road and he let you off the side of the road i
called my dad at the time well he's still my dad but i called him in a big panic dad i'm completely
fucked i don't know what to do i'm screwed and i was waiting for some fatherly advice and all i
heard was a giant bellowing laugh on the other end of the line and if you knew his dad his dad's
bellowing laugh is like like if you look in the dictionary at bellowing laugh, that's his dad.
He says, we're going to have to introduce Garibar one day.
Oh, for sure.
He says, you idiot.
Why didn't you jump off the balcony?
And that was it.
And that was it.
It was like literally he hung up and went back to like.
I think we should probably like.
His Kindle.
End it at that note.
We got to probably say some things to end it though, right?
Yeah.
I mean, I guess basically now you guys know who you're dealing with here on this
podcast. I'm just a big perv, I guess. No, no, he's not. Not really, but okay. So, so before we
wrap it up, um, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm really excited because Michael
finally went to acupuncture and cupping. Can you show your back to the camera?
I'll explain what it looks like. His back literally looks like a circular hand punched him seven times.
Okay. 20 times. So the darker spots on here are like the parts where like, that was not a long
enough showing. They like, that was like, like get naked. Okay. Well, slow down. Let's recap the
closet. I just want to end this podcast that I'm really, really proud of you for going to acupuncture and doing cupping and working on your wellness.
Because I know that's very hard for you.
And we're going to do a whole episode all about cupping and acupuncture and basically how you manipulate your fiancé or husband or boyfriend into doing things that you want them to do.
Like cupping and acupuncture.
Yeah.
There's like a ton of stuff.
So what do we want to do?
Jordan, you're good with that too.
I know you.
I love the acupuncture.
All right.
We're getting off track here.
So what do we want to tell these people?
They want to send questions.
Okay.
Send your questions to hashtag ask him and her twitter like if you send it on
twitter i will 100 like that's the easiest but definitely if you want to send it on instagram
just go on like lauren's latest lauren or michael's latest so my my social handles every single one of
them is michael bostick bostick is b-o-s-s-t-i-c-k and mine is at the skinny confidential on instagram
and at lauren everett's la Lauren with a Y, on Snapchat.
And this is Jordan talking.
Oh, whoa.
Whoa, hey.
Hello.
Hey.
It's me.
Hey, sweetie.
Hello.
I'm going to be choosing the questions.
So I want, like, juicy, awesome, like, fun, interesting questions.
Like, none of this, like, boring, like, what's your favorite lipstick color.
No, get out of us.
This is our platform for Lauren and Michael
to like really ask the questions
that you've always wanted to ask.
So send those in and I will pick my favorites
because hopefully there's going to be so many
that we're going to have to choose.
But we want to get funny, get dirty, get funny.
My chief engineer, Taylor, back there is texting me.
That's time to go.
Tickety-tock, tickety-tock. Okay, tick time to go. That it's time to go. Tickety-tock.
Okay.
Okay,
tick-tock.
Jordan would talk
for six hours.
Wrapping it up.
Wrapping it up.
Wrapping it up.
send in your questions
and we will see you next time.
Bye, guys.
Thanks for listening.
Subscribe. Thank you.
