The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
She's a lifestyle blogger extraordinaire.
Fantastic.
And he's a serial entrepreneur.
A very smart cookie.
And now Lauren Everts and Michael Bostic are bringing you along for the ride.
Get ready for some major realness.
Welcome to The Skinny Confidential, him and her.
Aha! Him and her.
There's not one rule for everybody.
And I really inspire people and encourage people to tune in and check in with themselves.
And I think that we have to remain adaptable and fluid.
And that is part of healing, is being open.
Boy, oh boy, do we have a hot wellness episode for you today. You are going to love it. We go all over the place. We talk about enemas, okay? We talk about butthole sunning.
We talk about all these different wellness trends that Michael's never heard of. His jaw
was on the floor. Some of these trends make me a little unwell. I'm still on the fence.
I sun my butthole with my juve every day, so I'm obsessed with it.
Nobody needs to see me sunning that area of my body. I would never do that to the world.
You walked in the other day and I was like bent over a doggy style in front of the juve.
You bent over a doggy style and me bent over a doggy style are two different worlds,
complete worlds apart. Okay. Well, you should sun your balls though, because they never get sun.
You know, maybe don't listen to any of our episodes with kids in the car.
Oh yeah. Good thing you gave the disclaimer after you did all that. Yeah, I know. Okay. So yeah, Jessie is just this amazing
woman. I found her when looking for guests on Instagram, and there was something about her that
was so magical. She's just like this plethora of energy, and every single thing that she posts
provides so much value. I highly recommend
following her on Instagram. She's someone that I seek out every day to get wellness tips from.
I have asked her where I should get a barrel sauna. I've asked her about ice baths. I've even
asked her where to get crystals. She has all the magical tips and tricks and she is it when it
comes to holistic health. So who is Jessie Golden?
Jessie Golden is a devoted mother. Her son is so cute. Like, feel free to hit up Zaza when she's
older. She's also a holistic health practitioner. She is certified in yoga. She's an author. She
used to be a ballerina. She used to be a model. She is beautiful. She glows in person, and she's
a skincare maven. She has a whole skincare line
called The Golden Secrets. She's very spiritual. And in this episode, you're going to hear
everything, like I said, from butthole sunning to enemas to even thriving with the debilitating
disease that she has. She has rheumatoid arthritis. I'll let her tell you a little
bit more about that. But the way she lives is goals. With that, let's welcome Jesse Golden
to the Skinny Confidential Him and Her Show. This is the Skinny Confidential Him and Her.
I am so excited to have Jesse in the studio because somehow I found you on Instagram.
And I felt when I followed you, I told you this earlier, that there was so much value
packed into your highlights. I couldn't believe it. It's like every single snap that I watched,
I learned something new. Thank you.
So in this episode, I kind of want to go everywhere. I want to talk about wellness
hacks and skin. You mentioned coffee enemas. Is that where we're going to start?
Can we give Michael a coffee enema live like what does that
look like i think that would decline this show immediately i think people would just tune out
i don't nobody wants to see that from me well it's funny you say that because i think people
instantly think like you're putting something up your rectum it's disgusting but nothing like
comes back at like you go to the bathroom you know you put it in and it doesn't because like
i'll bring it into the kitchen and my son and my husband this bucket that you put the coffee in and they're like
oh that's gross I'm like you guys the only part that goes up the bum is this little applicator
that you take off and you wash nothing like goes back into the bucket or it's literally just coffee
like you can drink out of it it's fine so it's not as like crazy as people think it is. Okay. So say we're going
to give Taylor an enema. So if I do it, you can drink out of my bucket. Yes. Can you explain
exactly what I'm doing to Taylor when I give him this enema? Yes. So I choose to have like an enema
bucket just because it's easier to clean. I think a lot of people traditionally see like a douchebag
or something kind of thing, which is hard to clean. But I make the coffee
just like I would that I would drink it. You can actually get specific enema coffee,
but you just need to make sure it's organic and mold free. A lot of people don't realize that a
lot of coffee actually has mold in it, which defeats the purpose of trying to detox the body
from things like mold. So you just you get the whole beans, you grind it so it doesn't oxidize beforehand you
boil it simmer it and then you just strain it put it in the bucket and then you just put it
into your body and the goal is how so okay so there's this little insert it's like a little
insert and i was talking about this too because how little are we doing it's little like you don't
even feel like it's so tiny it's
like smaller than your pinky yeah i've stuck a pinky up your ass before it'll be fine
and you put a little olive oil on the tip and you're fine so you put it up in there and the
goal is to keep it retain it for 15 minutes you're not going to be able to do that the first time you
do it because like you put it in and you're just like, I have to go to the bathroom. So you can work yourself up to like holding it for five minutes
and then going to the bathroom and then you do it again. So you just kind of like do three rounds
of 15 minutes. Are you just shitting coffee seeds? It's the most insane thing. Like, I mean,
we're starting off really graphic, which I love, but everybody knows when you go to the bathroom
and you just feel so good, like you take a really good bathroom, right? This is on another level.
Like you go to the bathroom and then you think you're done and stuff comes out of you that you
had no idea was there. So Taylor eats P.F. Chang's, actually it's not P.F. Chang's, excuse me,
Panda Express spicy chicken every single day with a side of curry.
This guy's going to shoot to the moon if he does that.
What is going to happen if he does an enema?
Yeah, it's pretty crazy.
It's the best way to like clean out the liver.
So, I mean, I haven't had anything like this, but people have parasites come out.
What do you mean parasites come out?
Literally, like you can have-
Like living things that are moving?
You can have worms come out.
I've never experienced anything like this, but I've heard of other people.
But there's toxic bowel that's stuck in our liver that we don't get out otherwise.
And I know that you and your fans will love this as well.
It's even been shown to help with liver spots, like clearing your skin.
Clearing the liver, detoxifying the liver is so beneficial.
And even if you're the healthiest person in the world
we're taking on so many toxins these days that we have to do other things to kind of like
balance it out like by doing all these health things that we love to help with the toxic
overload that we're taking on all right so i might have to try this one who knows what's
i hope i don't know if a parasite comes out of me i might just end myself i don't i don't know
speaking of buttholes you and i have something in common We both like to sun our butthole. I like to sun mine with the
Jew. I think you said you like to sun yours outside. What kind of research you've been
doing? Explain it to him. Well, I mean, the butthole is definitely there, but I call it
the yoni bath. Yoni is like the sacred space for women. And I'm all about ancient rituals.
And this is something that we used to do. We used to
expose ourselves to the sun. I feel like the sun has gotten such a bad rap over the last couple
centuries. And we were born to be in the sun, especially the places that don't see the sun
that often. And so receiving the sun energetically that way is just such a powerful thing,
especially for women. So I love that you do that. I think the sun gets a bad rap because people
lay and put oil on and bake in it. That's, I think, the bad rap. But I agree with you. You
need natural sunlight. You need to get out and get the vitamin D and get out and get exposure.
And it helps your circadian rhythm, a million things. So wait, so you go outside, you spread
your legs,
and you just let the sun go on your butthole and your vagina.
Yes.
I lay naked.
I mean, if I can.
I mean, I have a 16-year-old son.
And now that he's quarantined, he's home a lot.
So I have to find my windows.
But luckily, I have a front yard and a backyard that's pretty private.
So your fiance comes down and he's like, hey, what are you doing?
We're married now.
Husband.
Congratulations. Thank you. pretty private. So your fiance comes down and he's like, hey, what are you doing? Husband, we're married now. Husband, congratulations. So your husband comes down and you're like,
I'm just out here doing my vagina tanning. He's so, doesn't even question the stuff that I do because he just knows that. One of my favorite things about him is he encourages my craziness.
Like everybody else that I've dated in the past, I almost felt like
I had to monitor these things. Like, I better not tell him this because he's going to think I'm
crazy. And my husband just like loves that I do all this weird stuff. He's like, of course you're
tanning your hoo-ha, you know? You have to find someone like that if you're as, I mean, I get it.
Like he embraces the craziness. I don't think I could do anything that you would be like.
At night I go home, I cry in fetal position.
Cry in your pillow. Okay, so give us some background about how you got into the wellness space for anyone that's unfamiliar with your content. Give us the whole lowdown. Yeah. I've always been really attracted to holistic modalities. Like even when I was a kid,
I found myself not like having an aversion to perfumes and like any kind of like toxic stuff.
I never took over the counter drugs. I just, I realized looking back that I was a very,
I have a very sensitive disposition. So I was just very attracted to more natural things,
fell in love with aromatherapy at like 15.
And then that path just continued. I became a vegetarian at age 11, which was so weird. I'm not a vegetarian now, but I was a vegetarian for years. And then when I got pregnant with my son,
I chose to do everything naturally. I gave birth at home naturally. I ate the placenta. I breastfed
for four years and kind of went down that path. And I was really
like considered the epitome of health in everybody else's eyes because I was doing all this like
stuff that's pretty normal now through social media. A lot of people are more educated about
the kind of like negative ions and grounding and stuff like that. I was considered the epitome of
health. And then all of a sudden I got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 29. My son was four years old and it was just like up to that point, I
thought I was bulletproof and that's a whole nother story, but that encouraged me to become
a holistic health practitioner, basically in an effort to try and heal myself holistically.
Cause rheumatoid arthritis is autoimmune and it's chronic. And I
just didn't feel like Western medicine was great with stuff like that with chronic disease. They
just wanted to put me on methotrexate, which is basically chemotherapy and TNF blockers, which
is another form of immunosuppressant where one of the side effects is leukemia. Like it's like,
there's got to be some other options. So I went on this crazy expedition of just trying to heal myself naturally. I hired like a, a
macrobiotic coach named Mina Dobik. I had like this guy coming out from Mexico with healing clay. I
had like this blind shiatsu guy. I mean, you named it. And how do you find all these people?
Well, the crazy thing is, is I was actually in the process of getting my yoga certification
when I got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
So I told my peers, and here I have like 20 hippie yogi people who's got it.
Everyone's got a guy.
I got a guy.
I got a guy.
And I was like, let me try it.
So I tried everything and eventually became holistic health practitioner.
And I think that's the blessing and the curse is having rheumatoid arthritis has been my
greatest teacher because I constantly have to stay on top of it.
Like people, what motivates you to be healthy?
And it's like, well, I have to be healthy because I have this lingering disease where
if I'm not healthy, I really feel it in
my body and I don't feel good. So I'm constantly looking into anything that can help me feel my
best. What does it feel like? How did you know you had it? Well, it went undiagnosed for a long
time because I was a single mom, breastfeeding, working, and I constantly always felt tired
beyond exhaustion. But it was like, well, I'm breastfeeding and I'm a single mom.
And then I started getting like joint pain in my knuckles.
Again, ignored it.
I was a ballerina my whole life.
I was taught to ignore all my body signals.
I was kind of used to being in pain.
And then this went on for months.
I was getting sore throat.
I would get a fever.
I thought I was getting sick and then it would go away.
I was dropping weight, started losing hair, bruising easily, just all this
weird stuff. And I went from doctor to doctor to doctor, like my regular doctor did blood work.
I went to a homeopathic doctor, went to all these different doctors, not until I was chasing my son
and I thought I tore my Achilles tendon. It was just, I didn't tear my Achilles tendon. It was
just like part of the RA. Went to the emergency room and the lady at the emergency room's mom
had RA. And she took one look at my knuckles, which were really swollen at the time.
And she said, I think you need to see a rheumatologist. And I'm like, a what? A
rheumahoo? Like I thought it was like an old thing, you know, like, what are you talking about?
And sure enough, they ran blood work and I tested positive for the RA factor.
And it was up to that point, like I said, I really thought that I was bulletproof, that
I could get through anything.
And that was the craziest lesson was up until that point, I had always like pushed through
everything to get to the other side.
Like any challenge, it was like, just push through it.
You'll get through it. And this was the one thing that did not work that way. If I kept pushing,
I was bedridden for a year. I didn't walk. I was a hundred pounds. I'm 5'10". So you can imagine
what that looked like. There's some pictures in my book of me at my worst, but it was the
most humbling experience of my life, to say the least.
How fitting is this to talk about burnout in a wellness episode?
We're trying to focus on our wellness, okay?
So everyone's work schedule is obviously very hectic, and it's probably wearing a lot of
people down, especially with what's going on in the world.
So here's the thing.
I have researched this on The Skinny Confidential and it's like a hidden secret and that is magnesium. Okay, there's so many different amazing things about magnesium and
one of the main things is that it helps with burnout. So we're going to get into something
that can help if your levels are low or you're struggling with sleep, energy, metabolism,
pain, or stress. It's called magnesium breakthrough and it's a complete game changer. It has helped us manage
our stress levels for so long now. I feel so great. I mean, talk about getting better sleep,
talk about feeling better in the morning and functioning at a higher level. This stuff packs
a kick. Okay, so here's the deal. How I introduced Michael to magnesium, I sort of manipulated him.
I started him at night with like a powder and then once he fell in love with that and he saw all the benefits, he started on magnesium breakthrough. So this is a complete formula
that includes naturally derived forms of all seven forms of supplemental magnesium.
And here's why we like it. And here's why it's on this show. It doesn't contain any synthetic
additives or preservatives. There is so many magnesium supplements that are synthetic,
unnatural, and not recognized by your body. And with magnesium, I found there's so many magnesium supplements that are synthetic, unnatural, and not recognized by your
body. And with magnesium, I found there's so many on the market that are not full spectrum,
meaning they don't have all seven forms. So if you want to manipulate your significant other
who's feeling burnt out, all you have to do is give them a little magnesium at night,
and you're going to notice this sense of calm, relaxation. Their nervous system is going to be
better. Michael's less panicked. I'm telling
you, try it. Some people like to take magnesium breakthrough in the morning. I like it at night,
but you can do you. And it's going to help you, like I said, stay calm and resilient to stress
throughout the day. Give it a try for three to five weeks and you'll notice this sense of peace.

made a really big difference for you? Or is it just a bag of tools that you use all the time?
You're right. It's a bag of tools and it keeps evolving. And I think that's the greatest lesson
with anybody trying to heal is there's never an end point. You constantly have to evolve. And like
what might have worked for you yesterday might not work for you today because as the seasons change,
so does your body chemistry, so do your needs. And I do have like basic things that I go to.
Obviously diet is like such a great way to empower yourself. But more than anything,
like spiritually and how I feel in my life stress levels is a huge
trigger for autoimmune disease like flare-ups so for instance if you're around someone who's
really toxic or a family member that's chaotic or something with work comes up that you maybe
don't want to do that you have to do you know that you need to stay away from that yeah I've
really learned boundaries especially with family and like toxic.
Like I have no toxic people in my life
because I've just, I can't, I can't deal with that.
That's not for me.
I mean, that's one definitely blessing out of it, right?
Yeah, right.
Is you're like, I'm so sorry.
I can't, I actually can't do it.
Yeah.
Well, you learn self-love.
I think, I'm sure you guys can relate having Zaza,
but like I really started learning self-love when I become a mother. It guys can relate having Zaza, but I really started learning
self-love when I become a mother. It was the first time that I actually started caring about
what I put in my body and when I was pregnant. And then being a single mom, having to learn
self-love. And then when I got sick, it was like, oh my gosh, I really need to start taking care of
myself because I'm all he has. Self-love is a huge part of it.
When you say you're a single mom, do you mean
you raised him without any help? Correct. So no one else in the picture, it was all you?
All me financially and everything. Wow. And you breastfed until he was four? I did.
How was that? That is gnarly. You know what? It's interesting because first of all,
I want to preface, I think every pregnancy is different. Every child is different. Every mother is different.
And that was the story for me and Kaleo.
I think because it was just me and him, it was really easy.
I was still modeling at the time, so I was dragging him to castings, and sometimes he
would come to work with me.
And my mom was a huge, she breastfed me till I was four.
She was actually one of the founding members of the Leleche League in the seventies. And she would take me around and teach other people about
breastfeeding during the formula boom. And she would always say to me, honey, all you need is
your purse and a boob and you can go anywhere. And it was so empowering because those weren't
the stories that I heard. I heard you had to have a million things.
And I was never going to be able to do it as a single mom.
And me and Cleo went everywhere with my purse and my boob.
And it really made my life a lot easier, actually, breastfeeding.
Because it was just me and him.
When I reached out to you, I think it was like three months after I had given birth,
I was just stuck in this
rut of like having so much weight and so much water retention. And I text, I think I met or
DM'd you and I said, oh my God, like, is this ever going to end? And you said to me, you said,
and I think you said I gained 60 pounds with my son and it fell off, obviously. Do you have any
tips for postpartum mothers that are struggling with
weight? Yeah. I gained 65 pounds. And I mean, obviously, breastfeeding is the easiest way
because you can burn up to 500 calories. Michael, suck on my tit right now.
I don't know. Is this thing still going? We can reactivate it.
You actually can. There's been stories of people that adopt that are able to
lactate through their fennel seed actually increases your milk 100%. So there's definitely
or fenugreek. So there's definitely like certain herbs you can take that help. I was so in love
with being that big. To be honest with you, I felt so like bountiful and like I finally had a bum and I was like
so excited.
The breastfeeding definitely helped.
And I think this is something to like a lot of people don't know.
And I didn't know till afterwards.
I had the greatest midwife who was like a second mother to me.
The uterus stretches around the baby.
That's what contracts to push the baby out.
So it's like the size of the baby.
And in order for it to get back to the size of your fist, you need to breastfeed. That's why when you breastfeed, you get those cramps,
right? Because if you don't breastfeed for at least three months, the uterus never goes back
to its natural shape. So that's why sometimes people just have like, they can't get rid of
like this little pooch or something because maybe the uterus never went back to its natural shape.
And I think like walking and just allowing yourself,
I remember messaging you and like just being patient with yourself.
Like it took almost a year to create the baby.
So it's going to take at least that much time for your bones to go back to normal.
I mean, your hips widen, everything stretches, and you just have to be patient.
And then hormones get all messed up
too. And that takes a long time to get regulated after. That was a huge one for me. I would
recommend every mother goes and gets their hormones tested because that changed my life.
I felt like I was living in a fog and then I got my thyroid and hormones under control and I feel
so much more clear. I would love to know, because I'm such like an optimizer,
how your day looks.
Because I know you're very serious about your wellness.
Like walk us through your morning routine to your nighttime routine
with all your wellness, like your food, your witch doctor,
all your potions, your lotions, everything.
Oh my God, I do so many things.
I know, that's why I want to ask you.
That's like, honestly, this is like the question that I've been wanting to ask you. Especially
because quarantine, it's even like made it worse because I am so regimen now. Like before it was
like, okay, well, when I have time and now it's like, I do like, I think I'm home all day so I
can do this and that. I've been on a really strict detox protocol lately, so I haven't
been drinking or anything. I've been really cleansing. I just did a hair analysis test,
and I also went to this quantum neuropathist. Had no idea what that even meant prior to going to him,
but he tested me for all these different heavy metals. And then the hair analysis test showed
that I do have uranium and mercury, so I'm really trying to detox those, hence the coffee enemas. I'm also taking like these carbon binders and bamboo binders.
So the first thing in the morning, I'm a coffee drinker. I love coffee. So I make my coffee. It's
always organic and mold free, of course. What's your brand that you like? If people want to know
the brands, what time you wake up, you have to get really detailed okay kion is the my favorite coffee
is that ben greenfield yeah okay i'm so i've been really lazy so if i don't have to get up i don't
get up like i'm used to have my whole life i had to get up with my son at least at seven so like
during quarantine we've been sleeping in so i would say i get up around nine unless i have
somewhere to be yeah i'm just like letting myself, you know, have the time.
Yeah. Yeah. And then I do my whole coffee. I, I pretty much fast, but not technically because I
do put a little bit of coconut cream in my mouth, in my coffee, but I don't have my first meal till
around one o'clock. I've been doing the coffee enemas about three days a week. And then I usually
try and go outside in the
morning when I'm drinking my coffee. That's when I get my sun, the actual sunshine, and do my little
Instagram and stuff like that. And then I might do some gua sha in the morning, like for my face,
if I have any puffiness. And I'm really loving trying to do the gua sha more in the morning
than the night, because if you're working with the lymphatic system i've actually heard that it's better to do it in the
morning so that way you can flush the body the rest of the day and then if i do work out which
i've been really chill with myself not pushing myself too hard i'll work out before i eat so i
work in a workout in a fasted state i have a rebounder I have what's a rebounder like a
little trampoline okay so to get the lymphatic yeah lymphatic system it's great for the bone
density it's great for women to like practice their kegels like jumping on that thing and it
just gets the heart rate up I love it put some music on and do that anything to get the heart
rate up like during quarantine I've had so so much fun just trying to do weird stuff. Just anything to get the heart rate up.
And then I'll stretch. And then every single day, I get into my infrared sauna.
So I take a binder. A lot of people don't know this, but you should take a binder,
some type of binder. The most common binder is activated charcoal, but they have way better
binders now that don't pull out all the good stuff.
They just pull out all the good stuff or all the bad stuff.
So you're not like depleting yourself of all the essential minerals.
So it's like a pill that you take.
So when you're in the infrared sauna, it's not pulling out anything good.
Correct.
And then when you go in the sauna and you sweat, if you don't take a binder, it can go back into the system and actually make you sick. So that's why you want to take a binder to grab all that stuff. What infrared sauna do
you recommend? Therasage is the one I have. It's the best affordable pop-up infrared sauna. So if
you don't have a lot of space or if you're renting and you don't want to get like a clear light,
clear light is a great
one if you have the money and the space. Therasage is so great because it's just like in my office.
Again, we're back on the topic of probiotics with Just Thrive. So we had the founder Tina
on our podcast and she broke down why probiotics are so important. She even said to give Zaza a little bit of the probiotic powder in the pill
because it encourages a strong immune system and everything starts in the gut. So if you're
looking to improve your overall health, your immune system, or your gut, you have to check
out Just Thrive. And everyone this year has been talking about vitamin D and C and boosting your immune system, but very few people are talking about how the gut
affects our overall health. When we had Tina on the show, we talked all about the immunity boosting
benefits that a product like Just Thrive can help us with. And now, obviously more than ever,
it's so important to guard your health, not just with vitamin D, not just with C,
but with taking care of your gut as well. On episode 307, we talked about how you have tons of naturally occurring bacteria in your body. So
there's good bacteria that you like. Okay, we like this. And that's going to help with digestion,
immune system, and mood. And there's bad bacteria. And that's going to do all these annoying,
like real annoying things, like colonize your gut and trap gas. It's going to give you bloat
and puts that painful pressure on your abdomen. I remember the other morning that I woke up and

Let me know what you think.
When I think of a sauna, though,
I think of a sauna like a wood sauna.
Why am I thinking of that?
We're thinking of a barrel sauna.
Yeah, what's the difference?
Then there's the light sauna.
But what's the difference?
She's like the female Ben Greenfield.
There's infrared and then there's barrel, right?
You're so funny.
You are.
You remind me of the female Ben Greenfield.
Have you guys spoken before, you and Ben?
No, but I'm an affiliate for Kian.
So we are in the same circle.
I'm telling you, they're like the same.
Like she's like-
You guys would have a battle of the minds.
Oh no, he would totally destroy me.
I have so much respect for him.
He's like a genius.
Yeah, he's intense.
He's intense.
I'm not there at all.
My brother is like that though.
My brother's a doctor, a chiropractic doctor.
And he's-
Ben Greenfield bubble?
He's like an encyclopedia of knowledge i'm just like
he's like more the the medical layman's terms like i can that's why i think that's why i wrote
my book is i was like how can i make this accessible for people i don't you know and
just speak in my terms i didn't want it to be like yeah well the book is very accessible you
guys should check it out what is the difference between the one I'm thinking of, the barrel sauna and the infrared?
Is there a difference or is it the same thing? Well, I think the barrel sauna does have infrared
in it as well. And I mean, that's ideally if you have the money, clear light saunas is one of the
best brands and it's wood. It's probably bamboo and it has has infrared. This is literally non-toxic fabric. It pops up
and folds away. So if you don't have a lot of space and if you don't have a lot of money,
it's under a thousand dollars. It's like. Can you go on your phone?
You can go on your phone. Your head is out of it and there's like two little holes. So I just go
in there and I answer my emails and I'm in there for about 45 minutes
to an hour. Okay. Sweat my face off and the red light is in there. So it's getting on my skin,
which is so good for your skin. And then I rinse off right away. And I think that's the other thing
too, is like, make sure you rinse off right away because all that stuff just came out.
And then- You're right right I never thought about that
you gotta get that rinse off going Lauren you needed a big rinse off yesterday I needed a rinse
off and that's when you do your your cold your cold little shower and with the cold shower yeah
yeah so after you've done that then is it off to the races with work yeah I mean I pretty much work
all day long especially being home now. It's like,
it's, that's my, one of my biggest challenges is finding the balance and when to turn it off.
Cause I'm kind of a workaholic and I'm a perfectionist. So it's a little, that's my challenge. I get it. I get it. Trust me. I'm sure you have to, you have to create boundaries of when
you're working and when you're not, but with the phone and the computer and all this stuff up in our face, and I think you
have a highlight on this, you talk a lot about, is it EMF?
Can you say it?
Yeah.
Okay.
Can you speak about how you try to be careful around EMF?
Yeah.
I mean, especially during quarantine, all this stuff came out about 5G with COVID.
So I interviewed actually this guy who
owns Synergy Science and they created this thing called Key Technology, which creates basically
like this protective veil around your entire house. So you don't have to turn off the Wi-Fi
router because before that I was like turning off the Wi-Fi router, not putting my phone near my
head when I was sleeping, things like that. But now I just have this key technology in my house. I have an EMF blanket for my son. So when he's on the
phone, I'm constantly just throwing him this blanket because he'll sit with his phone on his
chest and look at videos. It drives me nuts. I actually have a little EMF case as well for my
phone, which I highly recommend, Defender Shield.
Is that what you got me, Lauren?
Yeah, but you don't put it on your phone.
No, I had it, but then I got a new phone. I got to get a new one. Okay. Well, you see, yeah.
Lauren does the thing when I get the computer, you throw the thing so it's on my lap.
Explain the benefits of this thing.
Well, we just, we don't know. That's the thing. 5G is new and they say it's equivalent to our
bodies being inside of a microwave. So why not just be a little extra
careful? We don't know what the repercussions are, especially for young children. I feel like that
they absorb things much more. So I just feel better knowing that I'm at least trying to be
a little proactive because I do need to be on my phone. So how can I balance it out? I'm always
trying to find a nice balance because I am so grateful for technology but at the same
time like we need to find a good balance it does scare me how much our like our daughter's almost
a year old it scares me like if she sees a phone she it's like she goes right for it it's not even
like it's it's not even a second thought she all she wants is the phone so we have to keep
i can't imagine yeah it's it's honestly it is scary. And I thought I'd be able to get away with working on the phone for months and months
and months.
But I remember her being born and looking at me on the phone, like just staring at me
like five days after she was born.
What are you doing?
And now the favorite toy is like the remote control that looks like the phone.
So she can pretend she's on her phone.
But it is nice to just have.
I have this one that I think it's
the same, maybe different brand, but my Chinese medicine doctor said, put this on your phone.
Oh yeah. A little sticker or something.
Can you get yours?
Yeah. I don't know where it went. Cause I got a new phone. You gotta give me a new one.
I'm going to get the blanket too.
The blanket is great. Yeah. And I also have a, I got my husband a pad for his computer
cause he sits with it on his pelotas and I'm like, what is that doing down there?
I always say to Michael, stop killing my children.
Yeah, he puts he put Michael literally falls asleep with his phone on his dick,
his laptop on his ball.
That's an exaggeration.
His iPad on his chest.
And I'm like, his blanket is literally electronics.
I got to be careful.
You do.
You got to be better at this.
It's not a joke.
Either that or the kids are going to come out like mutant kids, strong kids.
We don't know.
The Synergy Place comes to your house.
I want this, by the way, for my birthday.
And it just puts a protection around it.
The one that I got, there's different ones depending on how many square footage your
house is.
But it's like this little round thing.
It's actually really pretty.
And it just creates this little sanctuary.
How much is it? It's not cheap.
I know. I know. It's probably like five grand. But they have smaller ones. They have like
different versions. Okay. Yeah. I'm going to look at it. Hint, hint for my birthday.
I'm realizing that it almost doesn't matter what you're going to make me get it anyway.
So diet. What are some things that you eat every single day that you think just heal
you from the inside out?
It could be anything from an herb, a powder, a food, anything.
I go through phases.
Like I realized just recently, like I wasn't, I hadn't, I stopped doing a lot of vegetable
juices because I was like, oh, every other day I'm hearing like new things like, well,
maybe the vegetable juices are too much.
I constantly kind of guinea pig and try different things. But I'm back on my green juice because I really notice a
difference with my skin and even my system, like flushing and fiber and stuff like that. So I try
and get my vegetables in somehow. And I think just like throwing them in a blender or juicer is like
the best way to do that. And getting all the different colors in there too,
like beets and spinach and cilantro, like you just want to switch it up. I think a lot of people get stuck in a regimen and a routine instead of creating a ritual. And the difference is,
is listening to your body and changing it up. So I was on this celery thing. I was like a celery every morning. I think
everybody was doing that, but I think it's important to switch it up. Our body needs a
different variety of things. So I don't really, other than coffee, that's like my one constant.
Every morning I have coffee. I don't know how you would explain this,
and I'm probably not the best person to go, but I have always thought of myself as someone who
listens to my body. Like I'm not the epitome of a wellness person, right? Like, but I feel like
when I eat, like when you were just talking, I was like, oh, that's what I do is I only eat things
when my body tells me that I should eat those things. Does that make sense? That's good. Yeah.
Like Lauren's like, oh, you're eating like sushi right now. I'm like, yeah, for some reason,
my body's craving fish or like meat or vegetables. But I don't know if there's like, oh, you're eating like sushi right now. I'm like, yeah, for some reason, my body's craving fish or like meat or vegetables.
Omegas.
But I don't know if there's a way to, like if you were to talk to someone,
like how do you get people more in tune with listening to their body?
Because I think a lot of people just don't know how to do that.
Yeah.
And I don't know how to explain it, but I was just, as you were talking,
like I think it's important to discuss.
Yeah.
I mean, I think just finding that time to check in with yourself,
which we're not doing as much either these days,
because we're so distracted with our phones.
And I'm a huge advocate of meditation and just taking time to tune in with yourself to see what you really need.
In general, diet, what you should work out.
Some days you should work out hard.
Some days you just need to go for a walk or some days you need to stretch.
Like it's different every single day. And I think, like I was saying, a lot of people just get stuck in this routine and they completely ignore their body signals. I think that, and no offense to you or Lauren,
but I think that, or they go to people like you and Lauren and say like, what should I do? And
then they take what your formula is and they apply it to their own life without actually
listening to themselves. So they may think like what works for you may not work for them, but
because, does that make sense? Oh my gosh. Yeah, it's a fine line with social media. You don't...
Sometimes you can be influenced in good ways to add things, but sometimes when you get
influenced in a way where it's like, just because it works for me doesn't mean it's
going to work for you.
As you're talking, I'm like, okay, you obviously know what you're talking about, but I go into
every...
Even Ben, anybody I've talked to with a healthy skepticism saying, okay, I love everything
you're saying, but what would work for me?
Does that make sense?
We're talking a lot about taking care of yourself in this episode. And let's not only take care of our bodies, but let's take care of our minds by also taking care of our financial wellbeing.

I think that that's the hugest part. When I wrote my book, I was writing my book because I had all
this, it would keep me up at night. I was like, oh my gosh, I have to get this information out.
And at the time, there wasn't really that much social media. So I was getting a lot of emails
of people asking me specifically about rheumatoid arthritis because there wasn't that much
information. But it was so important for me when I wrote my book. It was like, okay, there's
nutrition. This is what I suggest. I love looking at your ancestry. I love looking at where you live.
I love looking at your blood type. I love looking at your current state of health. But then at the end, I have a reflection page where you can ask yourself
all those questions. Because if you're of Hawaiian descent, then you should be eating
pineapples and mangoes. And that sugary fruit is very good for you. But for me, I'm Eastern
European. That could be too expansive for my body. I should eat more berries and apples. And so there's not one rule for everybody. And I really inspire people and encourage people
to tune in and check in with themselves because every, especially with social media, it's like,
you should be carnivore. You should be a vegetarian. You should be, I don't even like,
that's why I'm actually really private about my diet. I just did
a post yesterday asking people what they want to know more of in 2021. I was a vegan for so long.
And then when I stopped being vegetarian, they came after me. And it just discouraged me from
wanting to share. And I think that we have to remain adaptable and fluid. And that is part of
healing is being open. Like I just started taking collagen and bovine tracheal cartilage, which is
like what's in bone broth. And it rebuilds collagen and cartilage in my joints. And I was so stubborn
years ago when I first got diagnosed because it
was an animal product that I wouldn't take it. And had I started taking that, maybe my joints
would be much better than they are now. So sometimes we get really stuck and I think we
have to remain fluid. I think it's extremely important, one of the things you said about
looking into your ancestry, because people have evolved over time in different ways with different
diets and depending on where their ancestors are from in different environments,
right? Like my background, you wouldn't know by looking at me, but I'm quarter Japanese,
my grandma's full. My dad's side of the family is like Irish, Scottish. So like they're,
those two families, those two genera- You can eat everything.
They evolve differently, but I think it's important because like a diet that may work for
me, like I wouldn't say would work for my wife and vice versa, but I think it's important because a diet that may work for me,
I wouldn't say would work for my wife and vice versa. But people apply these blanket rules
without looking about where they're from and how they evolved.
Yeah. What are some foods that you eat on a maybe weekly,
daily basis that you really think are vibrant?
I've been on this crazy ramen soup kick, which I also talk about a little bit in my book,
which I love is not only what you're eating, but the consistency of the food that you're eating.
So soup is obviously very nourishing. Like in all, every culture basically has like,
we either have chicken soup or we have borscht or miso soup. And just the quality of it is very fluid and soft. So I just throw a
ton of vegetables in there. I get these insane... My husband does not eat carbohydrates. So he is
the master of finding these crazy keto-friendly anything. And he just found these noodles. I don't
even know what they are. They're like made of nothing. And I just throw some noodles in there and as many vegetables as I can get a little miso or a little like ramen mix thing. And that's like
my favorite thing. And just the essence of a soup is soft. So like in Chinese medicine, it's like
instead of eating crunchy foods, for example, your body can become tight and your body has to work
harder to digest it. When you're eating softer foods like soups and porridges, your body doesn't have to work as hard and it's more fluid.
That's something that I learned in macrobiotics when I did, I did like this crazy healing
macrobiotic diet when I first got diagnosed. And that was a huge part of it. And it made so
much sense to me because when you have rheumatoid arthritis or any type of arthritis, your body gets very tight,
like the Tin Man. So they want to give you soft foods. They flash cook vegetables. You don't eat
anything raw. Everything is softly cooked so that it's easier on the body. That totally makes sense.
What are some workouts that you love? I know you're very good at yoga. I saw you doing some
fucking handstand. I was like, how do you do that? Thank you. I mean, I'm a yoga teacher and I love yoga, obviously. I love Pilates. I grew up as a
ballerina, so I still do ballet at home. I'll do like ballet bar and then anything to get my heart
rate up. I have like little weights at home and I always work my tush because I'm always trying to get a tush and it probably will never happen until I get pregnant again. So I always work my tush because that's like I'm always trying to get a tush and it probably
will never happen until I get pregnant again. So I always work the legs, do lunges and just
kind of like do whatever I can to just get things moving. What is the difference between an enema
and a colonic? And do you like a colonic? No, I actually had a really bad experience with a colonic
where I think she flushed me of all my electrolytes
and I felt like I was going to die.
That's why I didn't like it.
I tried it once and I felt like it's also flushing all the good bacteria.
Wait, I think that's what I was thinking about the whole time you were talking about enema.
The colonics where they stick the tube up your ass and suck it out, right?
Yeah.
And an enema is where
you just put it in and you release it out yeah so it's i mean you still should like i i take like
celtic sea salt three times a day just like a pinch of it you could throw it in your water or
something and then an enema some people actually do enemas in between coffee so between coffee
enemas sometimes you can get constipated. Okay.
And there's that other one. I'm drawing a blank. I don't know what you're talking about. You can
just like stick something up there and it'll help you go to the bathroom. Oh, you're talking about
suppository. Suppository. So I haven't done it yet, but they have like, they even have these like
ozonated suppositories. So when you're doing an enema, sometimes you don't go to the bathroom naturally
by yourself. So I've been doing it like every two days. So in between, I'm not going by myself. But
if you stop, your body will regulate again. It's not like that big of a deal. But sometimes people
do suppositories in between. How did you and your husband meet? You guys just got married?
Yeah, we got married during quarantine. Oh, that's so cute. You have to tell us the story. It's crazy. Well, I met him at Stagecoach.
I totally manifested him.
I had the worst situation with relationships in the past.
Like that was just was not my forte.
I was choosing really not good people.
And that's not true.
I have an ex-husband and we're still best friends.
Not my son's dad, but previous
after that horrible relationships. And so I really made an effort to like spiritually do the healing
and forgive myself for being in these horrible relationships. And I wrote my list for him,
which I had done a million times. But this time when I wrote my list for my perfect guy,
I didn't leave anything out. Like in the previous
years when I had wrote like a list of what type of person and qualities I wanted, I always felt
like I couldn't have it all. So I would kind of like leave certain things off. And like this time
I made this crazy list and I put it in a special place. And then I remember making a conscious
decision to live my life at the highest vibration
and say yes to like anything that comes and just be super happy because whoever was going to come
into my life was going to match my vibration. And like a week later, a friend of mine invited me to
Stagecoach. I had never been to Stagecoach. It's a three-day festival like after Coachella.
And I didn't know how I was going to get there, how it was, if I didn't have tickets, I didn't have anywhere to stay. I didn't know who was
going to watch Kaleo. Everything lined up. And I told like all my friends, I was like,
I'm going to Stagecoach to find my cowboy. I just knew I was going there to find my cowboy.
And I just got drawn. And on day three, I was there with one of my best friends and she's quite tall.
And it felt like the entire
time we were at the festival, all these older, really short guys kept hitting on us. And day
three, our feet were killing us. And I said, please, can you please just bring us two six
foot four cowboys to carry us home? And I literally turn around and him and his friend are walking
towards me. And he is a big guy too, Michael. I have to show me and we're he's a big guy too michael i have to show michael six foot four he's got he's a big guy yeah he's big he's huge and i was like
oh my god and we just started laughing he's like what i was like i literally just prayed for you
and that was it we he found me on facebook the next week we went on went on a date on like a
sunday and i knew right away that something was different. Well, I can't tell from there. This is them dancing in the kitchen.
Oh my God.
You guys have to go to her Instagram to see.
You can tell he takes care of himself.
He's so big.
He does.
He's a big man.
His brother actually dwarfs him.
So, and his mom is very tall and his brother's six, seven.
So, they're just like.
He's got a nice beard.
He's like a nice man.
He's got a good beard.
Yeah, he does look like a nice man.
I swear to God, you're going to think this is crazy.
Whenever you post him, I can feel his energy through the screen. He has good energy.
I'm sure.
Yeah, I swear to God. I know that sounds crazy.
No, you're totally tapped in because he is, I tell people this, he is such the divine masculine.
I'm so grateful for him. He teaches me every single day. He's so patient
and kind and he's so amazing with Kaleo. And I'm just like, wow, okay. Patience is important.
Is that a subtle message? We're working with patience.
If you could tell our audience three tiny little wellness things, and I'll give you one of mine,
and this is, I'm sure, one of yours too, like grounding, going outside, putting your feet on the sand. It's free.
Yes.
Anyone can do it. You can go put your feet on the grass. Are there any little tiny wellness things
that people could implement for free?
Yes. I think nature in general, 100%, like going out, getting some sun,
touching the ground, hugging a tree, breathing in different air quality. Dr. Zach Bush kind of
coined the term breathe your biome, like breathing in different environments. Talking about microbiome,
I think we overuse soap and shampoo and cleansers and things that break down the biome.
And I think that we should really only be washing like the bits and pits and using like a Dr. Bronner's castle soap, which is like oil based instead of like.
Don't worry.
That's what you use, Michael.
I already switched out all your shit.
Yeah, I don't know.
He thinks he has like Tom Ford.
I'm like, no, bitch.
I fucking switched it out.
It's working.
Yeah.
You guys are so cute.
I love you guys.
Yeah.
I think only washing the pits and bits and not maybe not
washing the face as much either. I'm a big advocate of oil cleansing versus using like
makeup remover and stuff like that. And as far as the hair to like washing the scalp and just
letting it come down to the ends of the hair and not washing it as much and drinking clean water
and air quality. I actually invested in, I mean, water is so
important. Everybody needs to have high quality water. I just found out my hometown has like the
most toxic water and like everybody's got cancer and RA and all these kinds of things. And I didn't
know. And I'm pretty sure that's why I have RA, but also air quality. We're spending more and more time in our homes.
And it's so important that you have like a good air filter for your house because for
mold and germs and viruses and bacteria and dander and all that stuff we're breathing
in.
Do you have a favorite one?
I just got one.
I think, what is it?
Air Doctor Pro.
Air Doctor Pro.
It's supposedly like 100 times better than
any other. We met the founder of that at Dennis's office. Remember? I was talking to him.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. And Dennis has one. Yeah. That one's great. I mean,
it's a heavy duty one, but it's great. It's a heavy duty one.
I like heavy duty though. So to end it off, I want to talk to you about skin. You have
a whole skincare line. And I know you got into this with the
intention to bring natural products to market because I feel like there probably weren't a lot
when you started this. Can you talk to us about that and skin and what you do for your skincare
routine? Yeah. It was actually an accidental business. So I've been making my own skincare
since I was 15 and playing around with different things. And then when I got diagnosed with
rheumatoid
arthritis, that was one of the things that became really relevant was like, okay, I changed my diet.
Now I have to be careful of like what I'm putting on my skin. So started making more and more
products. And then people were just asking for it. I had a blog called the golden secrets and
everybody wanted to know like what I was using on my skin. So a friend of mine who I really admire said, why don't you put that stuff on your website?
And I actually thought it was the dumbest idea.
At the time, it was this, I just had one essential oil perfume.
I put it on the website and it took off.
So it literally like I had no, I had no idea that I was going to be a skincare owner.
And it just took off.
One of the things that was really important for me, because I was on the other side for
so many years as a model, advertising for companies for products that I never even used.
And I was here lying, saying that this is why my skin looks this way.
And it was really important for me to let people know that these are my formulas.
I created them.
I've been using them
for 20 years. And then every product comes with an affirmation card to create rituals of self-love
because I think it's so important to go beyond the skin, especially now there's, we're so
infiltrated with so many different things on what to do when really the basis of everything is having that self-love.
And that's what shines from the inside out. I also think too, just, I think we're presented
so many different products to use and so many different things at once. I've actually noticed
when I scale back and just use a few really great natural products, my skin looks the best.
It's not about, to me, it's not about quantity anymore.
Oh my gosh, you're so right. I think for so many years, we've been sold the problem and the
solution. And I think with the help of Instagram, people are finally getting more educated. All my
formulas are ancient based. These are things that have been around for thousands of years.
Heliochrystum dates back to Cleopatra. It's the immortal flower,
like the stuff you just sprayed that smells really strong. That's thieves oil from the
bubonic plague. It smells so good. Can I spray this on my face? You spray it into the air. So
the story is actually is thieves oil was originated in the 1400s when some thieves
were taking advantage of all the people dying of the
bubonic plague and robbing them. And they weren't getting sick. And it was much like COVID,
where if you got into a proximity with anybody with it, you would get it. And they got charged
and the judge said, what did you guys do? How did you not get sick? And they said, we work at the
perfume and herb thing. And we created this stuff called,
now it's called thieves oil, but it's frankincense and all these amazing oils.
And they didn't get sick. And then doctors started putting it in their masks from then on.
And it's so fascinating. So I feel like we need to go back to ancient wisdom when things were
more simple. And you're exactly right. like using high quality ingredients consistently instead of like
a ton of things because again we mess up the microbiome the skin gets flared up and and it
gets confused and that's when you really run into problems so less is more with skincare for sure
so the thieves i can spray in the air in zaza's room and it's like it sort of like cleanses the
air yeah there's clove
and cinnamon. Smells so good. Yeah, this I'm going to like this smells so, so good. And there's
190 proof organic grape alcohol is what it's made with. So you can even put on your hands if you
don't have like a hand sanitizer. So it's just like a natural way to clean things. You have so
much knowledge when it comes to the wellness space.
I highly recommend your book.
I have it bookmarked.
I highly recommend your Instagram.
I don't follow a lot of content on the internet.
I try to really be cognitive and strategic about who I follow because I don't want too
many opinions.
And I love your Instagram stories.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for coming on.
Where can everyone find you?

And definitely get the thieves. Is it thieves? It's called a little peace of mind.
It is a little peace of mind. When Michael acts up and he's impatient, I'm going to spray it.
It can also be moonlight as a mace.
Yeah. I'm going to go back through this episode and take notes on all the things that I have to
buy. And you are getting an EMF protector on your phone for sure.
I had one, but I just, I got this new one. This 5G is probably rotting my brain.
