The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
She's a lifestyle blogger extraordinaire.
Fantastic.
And he's a serial entrepreneur.
A very smart cookie.
And now Lauren Everts and Michael Bostic are bringing you along for the ride.
Get ready for some major realness.
Welcome to The Skinny Confidential, him and her.
Hello, hello, hello. Welcome back to The Skinny Confidential, him and her. Hello, hello, hello.
Welcome back to the Skinny Confidential Him and Her podcast.
Today, it's just me.
It was going to be Michael and I, but I took my team to a salt rock cave in Austin,
which is so fitting for this episode.
We'll get into it. But I took them to this cave where you go in and you lay on these beds and you're surrounded
by salt.
And it's really good for inflammation.
It's amazing for fighting any kind of mucus.
If you have dermatitis, psoriasis, any kind of rash, eczema. It's so powerful. And we went there for a team building
exercise because I felt like we just needed to break it up. And I thought that they could work
on their phones from the salt rock cave. And it was amazing. I'm so relaxed right now. It feels
like I took a Xanax or something and I didn't. It's all from the magical healing properties of
Himalayan salt, which by the way, since we're
talking about beauty and wellness in this episode, you should totally get a salt rock nightlight.
I'm telling you, there's one in my bathroom. We're going on a tangent like we always do. So here we
go. So there is this salt rock nightlight. Okay. It's on Amazon. You can also Google the skinny
confidential salt rock and you plug it in in your
bathroom and then you turn off all the lights and you take a shower, put on some Zen music.
Oh my God, it's heaven. I've talked about this a lot, but I also have a salt rock lamp in my
bedroom. So I'm a big believer in salt. And after doing that with my team today, the way I feel
right now is so de-stressed and relaxed, but that brings me to my next point.
After the salt rock cave, there was traffic. So I was a half an hour late to meet Michael and he
kind of freaked out and said, I'm leaving. You're on your own for this episode. And I said, fine.
I feel like this is better. You and I just talking about beauty and wellness as opposed to Michael
being here. So we're going to do this solo. And I just feel like it's so on brand that I was late to this
podcast with Michael because I was at a salt rock cave. Anyway, check it out if you're in Austin.
Okay. So this episode is going to be themed around weird beauty and wellness hacks that
I've been doing lately that I really think work. My job is to try 1 million things and really suss out what works and what doesn't.
And then when I find what works, I do it 100 million times. I let my friends do it, my team
do it, my husband do it, whatever. And then I come back to you with the juice. Think of it as a lemon.
I'm getting all the juice for you and I'm extracting the pulp and the seeds, and you're just getting
the good stuff, okay? So this episode is going to be the good stuff. It's going to be the stuff
that I have seen results on that works. It's going to be things that I think that you will go and do,
and you will go and tell 10 friends. That's always my goal. I want you guys to feel so good
about my recommendations. Also, if you're interested in beauty and wellness like I am,
and you're obsessed with hacks like these,
you have to check out my book.
It just dropped my second book.
It's called Get the Fuck Out of the Sun.
And I went to the best of the best
and interviewed 100 celebrities, influencers, podcasters,
doctors, experts on their skincare practices and routines.
I again extracted all the juice for you and I put it in a book. But on top of that,
I shared all my secrets. And this is not like an interview book where you're just reading about
other people. It's a medley of things. So there's a lot of my tips and tricks and secrets. I would
say three-fourths of it is my tips and tricks and secrets.
So you're going to get all of that.
And then you're also going to get people like Kristen Cavallari, Justin Anderson, Patrick
Starr, Dom Roberts, Dr. Dennis Gross, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Molly Sims, The Lady Gang.
We've got a lot of really cool people in the book and they really, really spill it. Stassi
Schroeder's interview is so awesome. She goes into so much detail. Scotty Chuna, the celebrity
hairstylist, just so many secrets all in one spot. It's hot pink. It's thick. It's matte. It's pretty.
You want it on your coffee table, but here's the good thing about it. You also can pick it up,
open it to any page, and you're going to find some kind of skincare hack. It's a book, and this is why I wrote it,
that you don't have to read cover to cover. You can just open it up and find something amazing,
bookmark it, and put it back on the coffee table for later. So definitely check it out. It's
available where all books are sold. Support the small bookstores. It's also on Barnes and Noble and Amazon. And I'm just so excited because I've been working
on it for the last three years and your support means the world to me. And also it's the perfect
pink for the feed. Okay. You should have seen how psycho I was about this pink. We went back
and forth with the publishers. Shout out to Abrams for dealing with me for 500 hours. So it's the
perfect tone of pink in my opinion. Okay, so get the fuck out of the sun. It is out for pre-order
now. So back to this episode, wellness and beauty hacks. The first one I want to talk about is
something that I think is so underrated, but so incredibly helpful. We've obviously discussed facial manipulation and facial
massage so much. We talk about it all the time. It's on a million blog posts. I've talked about
it on the podcast. It changed my life when I had horrific jaw surgery, but I feel like buckle,
and I hope I'm pronouncing this right because if I'm not, someone will probably DM me. Buckle
massage. Okay. So I first heard about this through Meghan Markle. I read and heard that she was
obsessed with this specific massage and it was giving her that Meghan Markle sparkle.
And then I went and I did it and I became a practitioner and I went to Mo in San Diego, who I absolutely love.
She's at Heal Thy Goddess on Instagram. And then I ended up going somewhere in LA. I think it was
at Pellicure with Haley. And then now I'm in Austin and I just went to the road acupuncture
and the woman that I like, Brooke, she does buccal massage. I hope I'm not flubbing the words.
So what is it? Okay. So it's a facial that includes a rub down inside your mouth.
So what the esthetician does, and I believe you have to be medically certified in it. So make
sure you find someone who is certified in it. I think you have to have a medical license, in fact. But they put on gloves. Obviously,
they're wearing a mask in 2021. And they massage the esthetician needs inside your inner cheek and
your jaw muscle. And if you can feel your face right now, there's this little pocket, right?
Okay. It's right where when you smile, it's under your nose and by your cheeks.
And it's this little pocket and it's called the buckle.
And that's what they're trying to drain.
And when they drain that, you're releasing toxins.
And why it's so powerful is that it tightens and sculpts your face from the inside out.
So it's like an internal contouring, which is so fucking amazing because nowadays we
are filling our face with filler. The filler's moving, which is another subject that we'll get
into. The filler's moving in other places and it's making people puffy, puffy, puffy. So with
this, you're going to get that sculpted, chiseled look while also releasing toxins from lymphatic drainage.
So after, or I should say during what I'm doing it, it's actually releasing at that moment. And
I can feel it. This is gross, but you know I have to get to the detail. It's like drips in the back
of your throat. So all the toxins release. It's almost like your lymphatic system's
just flushing out and detoxing. So you want to release those pockets. And sure, you can do it
on the outside of your face with facial massage, but it's much more effective. And I feel much more
contoured if I do the buckle massage inside the mouth. So they take the gloves, they go inside
your mouth, they're massaging. The facialist or esthetician that I see in Austin actually goes underneath my eyes and
she'll clear all the fluid underneath my eyes.
And I was talking with her and I said, it must drive you crazy to walk around and see
people who are puffy or puffed from filler that just need to have facial manipulation. And she said,
I can't tell you how many movies that I've seen where I really want to just give the
person facial massage. I am a huge believer in this before you put on makeup.
Could not be more excited than to tell you about Ritual's new launch. The multivitamin
company you know and trust has launched protein powders. Now, I got to be honest, I'm a picky
bitch when it comes to protein powder. This protein is legit, okay? The reason that I don't
love proteins is because they're filled with soy. This one, Essential Protein by Ritual, is soy-free, gluten-free, and formulated with
non-GMO ingredients.
Here's how I prepare it.
It's a very specific way.
I do two scoops of Ritual Essential Protein.
Then I do a little bit of ice, not too much.
If you do too much, it gets slushy.
Then I do half water, half unsweetened almond milk.
It's this delicious plant-based protein.
And it's offered in three premium formulations for distinct life stages.
And they really, really zoned in on your unique nutrient needs.
I just tried it.
And I'm obsessed, you guys.
It has 20 grams of pea protein plus a complete amino acid profile.
Amino acids, by the way, do not get enough love. They are legit. There's no added sugar,
like so much protein powder. There's no sugar alcohols. And it's soy-free, it's gluten-free,
and it's formulated with non-GMO ingredients. To see Ritual really zone in on the ingredients,
like they always do, and show you where all the ingredients are from. And they're one of a kind visible supply chain on their website. It's so organized and you can just
see what's happening. You should also know their protein powder is made with nutrients to support
bones, brains, and muscles. And it helps maintain muscle mass as you age. There's so many ways to
use this protein. You could bake with it. You could do a smoothie. You could put in your oatmeal.
So why not shake up your ritual? To trying something new, less scary ritual offers a
money back guarantee.
If you're not a hundred percent in love, plus all skinny confidential, him and her listeners
get 10% off your first three months.
You're going to visit ritual.com slash skinny, and you're going to add the essential protein
today.
That's the move.
If you haven't tried the vitamins, get the vitamins too.
I'm obsessed.
The essential protein and the vitamins, that is ritual.com slash skinny.
Let me know how you guys like it.
So what I would tell everyone to do if you're interested in this weird beauty hack that
really, really works is before you go run out and get a ton of Botox and filler, go try buckle massage and see how
much it sculpts your face. It fights fine lines, wrinkles. I just feel like so many people are
working on their body and toning their body, but people aren't toning the face. And that's what
this is going to do for you. So Meghan Markle, it's her best kept beauty secret. I've heard all about it from so many people
that she's obsessed with it. It contours your mouth, your jaw, your cheekbones, and most
importantly, increases production of collagen. If you do this at home, you want to order like
surgical gloves. I don't know the name, just like the white latex gloves. And then you want to
probably use a really beautiful unscented oil. And you want to obviously watch some kind of
YouTube tutorial and you could do it at home or you could type in your area. So say you're in
New York or Michigan, type in Michigan or wherever your city is, buckle massage. And I think you'll be very, very excited about who does it.
There are a lot of people who are doing this and they swear by it.
Anyway, it's incredibly preventative while draining the lymph nodes and flushing out
all those toxins.
Another thing I would say when you're looking for someone to do facial manipulation on your
face, you obviously want to Google and Yelp.
But then most importantly, and I talk about this a lot on my blog, you want to communicate
with your esthetician before. So I really share what I like and what I don't like. So I'll say,
and this sounds weird, you guys came to a weird spot. I love getting my eyebrows drained. So I'll
say my eyebrows are feeling swollen. It's a thing. I'm
not making this up. And the esthetician will really manipulate around my eyes. And I'll just
feel like I feel like everything's tighter and more lifted. So really talk to the person who's
doing your facial. So some of the things that I ask for are buckle massage, eyebrow contour,
lymphatic drainage, taking it
down the neck, flushing everything out. And then I also like to usually ask for very natural products
when I'm getting a facial. I don't want a ton of harsh shit on my face. Another thing that I
am really a fan of when it comes to beauty and wellness is facial acupuncture. And this is
something that I've
really been exploring and I'm very passionate about. I obviously have had Botox before. I've
talked about it on the blog. I got it when I was 21 years old. But I do think there's a lot
of preventative things that you can do to increase the time between your Botox appointments if you
get Botox. If you don't get Botox, great. Still try
facial acupuncture. It's honestly incredible what it does. It releases so much tension in the face,
which helps with fine lines and wrinkles. And I think it's so underrated. I want to share
some of the benefits with you because with cosmetic acupuncture, there are a lot of benefits.
And although it's called facial cosmetic acupuncture, it's also very good for your
spirit. So you feel very relaxed, very de-stressed while you're fighting fine lines and wrinkles,
which is my kind of fucking multitasking, if you will. So what it's going to do is it's going to
work with your circulatory system, and this is
going to give you nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells, which is why you feel so nourished
from the inside out after acupuncture. And then if you do it for cosmetic reasons, you're also
going to feel lifted. Your complexion is going to brighten. It's almost like your skin was Rip Van
Winkle. Is that how you say it? And it wakes up and it's ready. It's ready. It's ready
for your Zoom meeting. It's ready for your date night out. It is ready to go. So this is very,
very popular in Asia. People rave about it. They also love facial acupressure points for wrinkles.
So you could also do acupressure if you're scared of needles.
But basically, this is something that's incredibly effective for frown wrinkles, for crow's feet,
for that 11, for the eye bag, for the upper lip wrinkle, the chin wrinkle, all these things on our face where we age. Using the buckle massage with facial manipulation and facial acupuncture
is legit. And these are things that you can get all at once.
So what I do is I'll do my facial with someone who practices acupuncture and I will get the
acupuncture done at the same time. These are things that are so preventative. I cannot tell
you how much younger my skin looks when I go in and do something like this. And it's really
important for me to share this because I know so many people are obsessed with Botox and filler.
And while I am a fan of Botox and I'm a fan of filler in my lips, I don't like filler at all
for me underneath the eye or in the smile lines. I think that it makes me look puffy. I do think
filler can get out of hand. And what I had mentioned earlier is that smile lines. I think that it makes me look puffy. I do think filler can get
out of hand. And what I had mentioned earlier is that it moves. I've been learning from a lot of
doctors and through the research in my book that filler can move. And what ends up happening if you
get too much in your lips, it moves up towards the underneath part of your nose and you get that
Simpsons look. So it's really important that when you are getting
filler that you research what kind you're getting. I am a fan of Restylane Kiss, but I think it's
important to just do your own research. I've seen a lot of people that I know get a filler and it
moves from their lips to their cheeks. I mean, I've seen all different kinds of things and gives
you that pillowy look. So it depends what you're into. Obviously, everyone should do what works for them.
For me, I struggled so much. I had an identity crisis from my jaw surgery. It was like so crazy
that I would look in the mirror for two years after I had got the surgery and feel so swollen. So I am not a fan of feeling puffy
and swollen and I do everything in my power to fight that, which is why I'm a fan of ice and
cryotherapy and cold showers and acupuncture and buckle massage and facial manipulation.
All these tools that were in my toolbox helped with swelling. So now whenever a friend or someone who's a part of
the community comes to me and says, I feel puffy, I feel like I have too much filler in my face,
I say, go use these tools. The next weird beauty hack I learned from this Instagrammer, okay? grammar. Okay. Her Instagram is Dr. Mamata, M-A-M-I-N-A. And she talks about her mother who
does this Japanese practice. Okay. So she is, it's all about bananas. Okay. So she takes a banana
and she peels the banana and she rubs the banana peel on her skin, on her face, on her arms, on her
legs. And it's full of potassium, vitamin A, C, B, zinc, amino acids. And she films her mom
doing this incredibly hydrating, moisturizing, effective exfoliant for her skin. I think they're like the cutest. You guys have to follow this
girl. It's at D-R-M-A-M-I-N-A. And she shows her 72-year-old mom doing this. And so she just rubs
banana peel all over her arms and her legs and her face. Now, while I haven't rubbed it all over
my body, I have a couple of times, but not every night, I've been rubbing the peel on my face.
And I did a deep dive into this girl's Instagram account.
And then I found this other amazing beauty hack that some people aren't going to agree
with, but I've been trying it and it's amazing.
And it's onion tea.
It's onion skin tea.
Okay.
So it's for your skin.
So you wash the onion and then you boil it for 15 to 30 minutes.
This is what her mother says.
Okay. wash the onion and then you boil it for 15 to 30 minutes. This is what her mother says, okay?
And then you just boil it in water and then you drain it and you drink the tea and it's onion tea.
I don't think it tastes bad, but I know a lot of people are more sensitive. Try a little bit to start. Supposedly it's full of vitamins, minerals. It's very popular in Japan and it detoxes you.
And I just feel like this girl and her mother are so smart when it comes to beauty hacks. They talk
about breathing, exercise, stretching, yoga, the importance of the lymphatic system, getting
circulation, energy movement. And to watch her do this banana peel all over her face and then drink
this onion tea and look at how amazing her skin looks.
It makes so much sense.
So what I did is I went and researched bananas and onions, obviously told you guys the benefits.
Both of them are filled with so many different things.
I'm all about finding these small niche hacks that you can apply to your day-to-day life.
We all have an onion in our refrigerator.
Half of the time it goes bad.
Why not use it for a really amazing skin tea that's going to give you energy and all these
vitamins and minerals?
Like for me, I'm all about it.
I even tried to give it to Zaza.
I mean, onion tea.
Anyways, the onion tea and the banana peel that I learned about from this account is
really legit.
I love this girl on Instagram and I just feel like she's giving so many tips.
I have an addiction to lemon.
And so does my daughter.
So does my husband.
We're all a very lemon-oriented family.
We love a good lemon.
We do love a good lemon.
So when Go Macro launched the Lemon Plus Lemon Bar,
I went and got a lot of them because one,
Michael gets so hypoglycemic when we travel. And two, now that I have a daughter going on an airplane, she has to have snacks. And I had the newest flavor, which is my favorite flavor,
Ann Zaza's, which is the Lemon Plus Lemon. It is like a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade.
They have a bunch of different flavors.
They're all nut free. They have this oatmeal chocolate chip, a maple sea salt. They also have a sunflower butter and chocolate. But the lemon right now is my jam. Sometimes what I do
for Zaza is I'll take the go macro lemon and lemon and I'll like cut it up and I'll roll it
in little tiny balls and give it
to her. So it's kind of like a little treat. And she's obsessed. She says, cookie, cookie,
cookie all the time whenever I pull it out. Go Macro Bars are a mother and daughter-owned
company, which is really cool. They're based in a rural community. And what I love about them is
they're perfect for the podcast because all of their stuff is simple, high quality. It's certified organic, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, non-GMO, clean, raw, and soy-free.
I love how it's soy-free. I've talked about this a lot. I don't like to give Zaza a bunch of soy,
so that's a big one for me. You have to check out their Lemon Plus Lemon Bar. It is so good. It's
like a freshly squeezed lemonade on a hot sunny day.
And I think there's lemon in it, like crispy puffed brown rice and some rich,
buttery, organic cashew butter. Absolutely delicious. 10 grams of protein. It is such a
win. You're going to get your hands on GoMacro's new lemon plus lemon macro bar by going to
gomacro.com and using promo code skinny for 30% off plus free shipping on all
orders over $50. I would get two boxes because you need one for your significant other and your kid,
if you're a mom, and then one for yourself. Another hack that I've been doing, I have shared
on Instagram story, but I wanted to go in depth here is water preparation for the morning. So you, this might sound stupid, but we wake up and we're
reactive and we're doing 600 things. We're making the bed. We're checking our emails. Some of us
were checking our phone, the baby's crying, your husband needs this, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
So any chance that I get to streamline my mornings with a special touch, I take.
I don't think there's any reason why you can't make little areas of your life special if you're organized with it.
So what I did is I wanted to have a magical sexed up spa water every morning. Such a little easy addition to my
day. But I noticed I would wake up in the morning and the baby would need something or Michael would
need something or the dog was barking and needed to be fed. So I was like, how can I have my water,
which I do first thing in the morning and make it ready to go? So I decided to buy this huge, beautiful glass carafe. And what I
do is the night before I pour all my water into it, I do pure lemon juice or pure lime. And there's
this one by Santa something. It's like Santa Margarita, I think. It's on Amazon and it's pure
lemon and pure lime. Make sure you look at the ingredients because you don't want a bunch of added shit.
So I ordered lemon and lime.
So I'll either do one of those
and then I thinly slice jalapenos.
So good, you guys.
And I pile the jalapenos in this pitcher
and then I'll squeeze fresh lemon juice on top.
I'll add some sliced ginger
and then I'll even add maybe some cayenne or some mint and then I'll put
it in the fridge. So when I wake up in the morning, I have this cool, delicious, because it's been
sitting a little bit, infused water that makes such a big difference in the day. Zaza insists
on having it in her sippy cup. It's so good. And I think that when you can do those little things throughout your day,
whether it's squeezing in a 10-minute walk
or putting your feet in the ground when you wake up,
just little tiny routines,
it really helps to make you a more effective person.
I notice when I have these little practices, my day goes better.
So to take two minutes at night before you wind down to make yourself a really delicious
water.
And listen, you could do anything.
You could put raspberries in there.
You could do any herbs.
You could do basil, rosemary.
You could get creative with it, man.
I mean, there is like a lot of cool shit you can do.
Even when you wake up, this is another little tip.
You could take some frozen blueberries out of the freezer. You know how we have berries in the freezer most of us do for
smoothies. You can take those and put them in your water and use them as ice. Just those little
tiny things make such a big difference. I think having this infused water in the morning is such
a beauty hack. Cameron Diaz would say that she thinks the most important thing to do when you wake up is to hydrate because you want
to think of your body like a flower and a flower needs to be watered. And in the morning we're
dried out and we need that hydration. We all know how important water is in the morning.
So I think to make it special is going to give you more of an incentive to drink it
And taylor if you're listening, it would be great if you could just drink water
So if you can't get the ginger slices and the jalapeno and the cayenne just drink water instead of diet coke
So that is my little water secret that has really been working for me and like now I crave it
I can drink it in a wine glass or a big tumbler, but the point is it's absolutely
delicious. Another weird random beauty hack. I have noticed and obviously consult with your doctor
that using my daughter's diaper cream on a zit works. Okay. So I have a really simplified my skincare routine since having a baby. When I got pregnant,
I really sort of looked at all the products that I was using and dumbed it down. I didn't want to go
super crazy. I just used a lot of natural oils, a lot of natural serums, some moisturizers that
were really great ingredients and just really dialed it back.
I felt like I was using so many different things because I'm always trying things for you guys.
But when I got pregnant, I switched everything up. So after being pregnant and using all these
natural oils like grapeseed oil and avocado oil on my body, I wanted to sort of continue that.
I noticed that my skin had a lot less hyperpigmentation because I wasn't playing with as many products. And I was using
things like ice and facial manipulation and all the things, facial acupuncture that we already
talked about. So once I was not pregnant, I dumbed it down. And one of the weird hacks that I found
when I was dumbing it down was instead of putting all this product
on my pimples, I just would put a little bit of Zaza's diaper cream on my zit. I used Pink X.
You could use whatever you want. I found it to be pretty natural. Sometimes the diaper creams are
too crazy. And I just would put a little dollop of it on my zit and let it chill. And what this did is it fought inflammation and
redness, which was so incredible. And we get into this in my book as well if you're interested in
weird topics like this. So if you have a baby and they're using a diaper rash cream, check the
ingredients, make sure they're okay, and obviously consult with a doctor. but try it on your zit. It's so crazy because, and excuse me,
it's not called pink X. I pronounced it wrong. It's spelled P-I-N-X-A-V. And supposedly it's
said as pink slav, slave, slav. I think slav. You know, guys, sorry about pronouncing things.
Sometimes it doesn't come to me naturally, but their whole thing is to soothe and protect. And that's why I think it works so well on a couple of my zits.
It's also $8.99. It's super cheap. And it has eucalyptus, clove, peppermint, wintergreen,
aloe vera, vitamin E. And I think that's why it was helping so much with inflammation because
the vitamin E is known to really slow down
the effects of free radicals and it also moisturize. Another pimple cream that I'm such a
fan of, I have talked about this since I have been blue in the face, I think since I was like 21
years old. It's called Luracet and it's from Sweden and it's two ingredients, water and clay,
and it really pulls the toxins out of the pimple.
But here's my secret with Larasat if you're going to try this. So the directions say to leave it on
for 10 minutes, but I'm psycho and I leave it on all night. And that gets rid of my pimple.
So those two things for pimple creams are the moves. Okay. Those are my recommendations. Instead of putting all this moisturizer and product and all this shit on your pimple creams are the moves, okay? Those are my recommendations.
Instead of putting all this moisturizer and product
and all this shit on your pimple,
I find that makes it spread.
The diaper rash cream and the Larosat,
just dry that out and work.
I don't know.
It's like some magical situation.
It works.
It's like the best thing ever.
And if you don't believe me,
you can believe Hailey Baldwin Bieber, okay? She's a big fucking fan of using diaper cream on her face.
Wait, we need to talk about Juneshine Hard Kombucha. This is the most insanely delicious alcohol. That's right. Juneshine has a hard
kombucha. It's made with real organic ingredients, and they're so cute. They look adorable on your
Instagram stories and feed, but they also taste so good. I am a huge kombucha fan in general,
but this one is super low in sugar. It's easy on the gut. It's
gluten-free and it's full of probiotics. They call it the champagne of kombucha. Specifically,
the best flavor is the blood orange mint. You got to try the blood orange mint. I am telling you,
it is at all my little gatherings. I had it the other day after a long day. I took it on a walk
with Zaza while she was in
the stroller. You could also put it in a wine glass over ice with a little basil or mint. It's
so bougie. It's amazing. It tastes delicious. It's 6% alcohol, which is pretty boozy. And it's made
with real organic ingredients. And unlike other alcoholic beverages, they're transparent. They're
transparent about every single ingredient that they put in their
products. You should also know they donate 1% of all sales to environmental nonprofits,
and their brewery is powered by 100% renewable solar. They use this green tea and honey as
opposed to a lot of brands that use black tea and sugar, and it gives it this very smooth,
less acidic taste. Something to mention too, it doesn't leave you with that
bloated belly like a lot of sparkling drinks do. It's not that I'm too full after drinking feeling.
It gives you like a lighter, brighter, softer buzz. It's perfect for the girl on the go that
has to wake up at 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. like I do every morning. So we've worked out an exclusive deal for

Kroger, and Publix. Cheers. I found through my research that it's her go-to remedy for breakouts.
She literally said, I have found that diaper rash
cream is a great thing for bringing down redness and healing. If you think about what it's actually
used for, which is red bumpy skin, it's essentially the same thing. Diaper rash cream is great for
under eye bags too. I got to try that Haley for under eye bags. Anyway, that's the tip of the day.
If you're out and you're with your baby and you have some diaper cream in your purse, try it on your zit, okay? The last beauty hack that I keep
going back to is dry brushing, but I do it a little bit different lately. I am a busy mom
on the go. I got to make it work. If I don't do it this way, I won't do it. So if you can dry brush out of the shower and you have a really great strong bristled
brush, amazing.
Go for it.
Make sure you're going up, upwards, under the heart.
And then when you're over the heart, go downwards.
And that's going to stimulate the fuck out of your lymphatic system.
But if you're busy and you just want to get it done and squeeze it in efficiently, how
I would do that is I would keep
a strong bristled brush in the shower and I do it when I'm wet. And I find that I'm taking my
freezing cold shower. I do three minutes every morning. Totally sets the tone of the day because
it's one of the hardest things I'll do. It makes me feel mentally tougher. It gives me energy. It's
like crack cocaine. I'm
telling you, if you've not tried a freezing cold shower, suck it up and try it. I'm telling you,
it is a beauty hack in itself. Anyway, I do my freezing cold shower and the whole time I will
brush my teeth and I will wet brush. And I don't even know if wet brushing is a thing. It's just
something that I've been doing for the last year to keep things going in the morning. It's just something that I've been doing for the last year to keep things going
in the morning. It's just something I do in the last year because I want to make sure that I get
that in in my day. And like I said, if I don't do it in the shower, I won't do it at all.
So I keep it as a habit during my cold shower to wet brush. And I scrub my toes to my heels, to my legs, to my knees, all the way up my body with
that strong bristled brush. And then I do the same thing above my heart going downward. I do my arms
and what it does is it just gets your circulation going. So if you are having trouble waking up,
what I would tell you to do is do like a Wim Hof
breath work for 10 minutes or headspace for 10 minutes.
Immediately hop in the freezing cold shower for three minutes.
Wet brush yourself.
Get out.
You will be flying high.
Now, if you're going to tell me you don't have time, that's 13 minutes of your day to
change the entire tone of your day.
Okay. Just that 10 minutes of breath work and three minute shower is seriously going to change
your whole day. I'm telling you, there have been times where I did this in the middle of the day.
Maybe I got in a fight with Michael or I had a bad day and it just invigorates you. You are going
to feel so much better, so much clear headed. Most importantly, you're going to have clarity.
There's so many times where I feel like I'm foggy-headed or fatigued,
and doing this just gives me the clarity that I need.
So I would highly recommend, from a beauty perspective,
to do that freezing cold shower and wet brush in it if you don't have time to dry brush.
Obviously, if you have time to dry brush, go for it. If I have time, I love doing it outside of the shower. But if you don't have time,
just keep that body bristled brush in your shower. A lot of you are asking me what I do when I have
a spray tan. It's tough. It's like a mathematical equation. I probably dry brush three days after
my spray tan. I like to let the spray tan sit in and then after three days, I'm usually good to go.
If I don't have a spray tan, I get in there. I go hard. And by the way, whenever Michael and I are showering together, I wet brush him in the shower and he loves it. It's so good for the, you guessed
it, lymphatic system. Some of the benefits of brushing the body are it stimulates the lymphatic system, exfoliates,
increases circulation, reduces cellulite. That's right. It is known to help soften those hard fat
deposits of cellulite more evenly. So it's sort of like helps diminish the appearance of cellulite.
And I can say this because it happened to me. So it really like removes the toxins that help break
down that connective tissue. If you want to read
more about it, I've done many blog posts on it. It also relieves stress. It's actually described
as meditative and improves digestion, kidney function. Plus, like I said, it's invigorating
as fuck. People become addicted because your skin glows and you just feel like you're on crack, like so much energy. It's wild.
How to do it? You start on dry or in my case, wet skin, and you work in gentle circular upward
motions for those long strokes. Okay. I always begin at my toes and ankles. Your back is the
only exception to this rule. So on the back, they say, this is what they say, that you want to go
down. So from the neck down to the lower back. And just be careful of any sensitive skin,
but I'm telling you, you are going to love it. And one last tip, if you don't like cold showers,
do a hot and cold shower, 30 seconds hot, 30 seconds cold while doing this. And that also works to really keep you energized
and refreshed. So those are some of the hacks and wellness practices, beauty tips that I keep
going back to that I can't shut the fuck up about. Okay. Those are the things that I think that you
should try. A lot of these things you can do at home. Some of these things you can buy on Amazon.
They're so inexpensive. They're practices like the onion that you already have in your refrigerator. So
drink your onion tea after you took a freezing cold shower and wet brushed while you massage
your buckle. No one in the world has ever heard that sentence, I'm sure. But that's why you come
here for all the weirdness and the weird
secrets and the hacks. So those are my tips. I would love to know what you're into right now.
