Starting point is 00:00:01 Hey folks, welcome to the sloppy boys where we take a deep dive into the drinks that you love. I'm Jeff Dutton along with Mike Hanford. Yo! And Tim Calpaccus? What, he's up? Oh, and we're here fucking boys. At this point? Well, your boys with the noise.
Starting point is 00:00:29 We should start saying that more boys with the noise. And today, the noise on Jeff's end is a little tinier because he's out of town. He's away from his rig, which is okay. Oh, I hate to be away from my wrist. where I make all my content. You sit there. You've got the keyboard in front of you, pull down a screen,
Starting point is 00:00:46 you pull down the goggles that go over your head. And see, we've kind of been crushing the content lately. It's funny, we're such road dogs, but also the content doesn't suffer. We've also, we've launched the,
Starting point is 00:00:58 we've launched the TikTok for all of our young zoomer listeners. We're on TikTok now, at the birthday boys, that hot content going viral. that hot, hot talk, tick. I haven't checked that out yet, but it would be great if we watch. And it's just TikToks of Jeff being like, get ready with me while I upload a birthday boys video.
Starting point is 00:01:23 When you let him hit, but he ugly. Jeff, how's life on the road, though? You're coming to us from, you've kind of like got a little makeshift. You're holed up in a little bunker there. what's it what's it like being out on the road as a duts as a touring duts artist i got to say that the tour with kenny gray has been pretty phenomenal for uh just i didn't realize how different it was from what i normally do and uh it really did feel like getting off that stage that first time in new york that it was like kind of a transformative thing like yeah i really did do something
Starting point is 00:02:06 different than I normally do and it felt different. And it was just nice. Yeah. I mean, I was at the LA show and it was also like it's just, it's funny. Like I'm watching the show and it was great. And I'm just enjoying it. But then I also like more like after the fact was like, oh yeah, Jeff was just on the stage solo for half an hour. Like that's like, uh, I've never done that. I've never, never just stood there. Oh yeah. Hold on right by that little knit. And they're trying to get away. And you're like, no. Get back here. What's been your favorite song to do? Oh, damn.
Starting point is 00:02:42 I kind of like this song called That Dude Looks Wack because it's kind of like a funny turning point thing. The dude looks whack to me. Yeah, you get it, Mike. But also I have a little solo on it. Like some of the songs are a little bit more involved as far as like playing the pads. And that's one where I kind of have like a little raunchy guitar solo,
Starting point is 00:03:01 but I do it on the pads. It's pad time. Now, inquiring minds want to know, Dutz has a very specific look that he wears, and it includes leather pants. I want to know about the laundering situation with these leather pants. Non-existent, Disscous. Disgusting, Jeff. You saw the sweatiest show, Tim, by far.
Starting point is 00:03:28 A lot of times for like a sloppy boy show where I throw those things on for just like, I I guess I do wear them for like set too for us. But I don't sweat all that much. And also, I think leather wicks that sweat. Like, biker guys are wearing that shit in the desert all day and it's black. I don't think they're worried about washing that leather. So is leather breathable? It's self-washed.
Starting point is 00:03:49 I mean, I don't think so because the skin of a, I mean, there's pores in the skin of a cow. We can all agree? Sure. I don't think Jeff has this right about the guys in the desert wearing leather. On the blowout, we're all going to pass the pants around. I'm going to smell them and we're going to say, why don't we put them on? Yeah, you can put them out.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Do you remember when the beginning of the last tour, Jeff, you and I, we arrived at LAX to fly out and I had made a bold style choice where I was wearing big white pleather pants that were hand-me-downs from you. And I was like, I'm doing a comfortable plain look because they were like joggers. Yeah, the leather joggers. The white leather joggers.
Starting point is 00:04:33 But then we were sitting at the terminal and I looked down and I was like oh no there's like these pants are flaking off and there's white flakes flakes all over the place and I everywhere I walked they were like falling apart like little little flakes so I had to go to the bathroom he was like Frosty the snowman
Starting point is 00:04:49 walking through the terminal and it was so bad I didn't want to get on the plane like that I literally went into the bathroom took the pants off it's changing the shorts and threw them in the garbage and that's the funny thing with like cheap leather. Like somebody, I think on
Starting point is 00:05:05 Birthday Boys, I walked away with like a cool, a cool guy leather jacket. Like, at that time, it was like a bomber with no real collar, just like the low elastic leather. And it was, it was that perforated leather. It was like had the dots all over it.
Starting point is 00:05:21 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was sort of like what you see like, what you see like a hot guy wear at the club or whatever. And so, and I took it out of the closet and the back was all like flaking off. And I was like, damn, it was supposed to be my hot cool guy leather jackets falling apart on me. That's not up. Jeff, you dodged a bullet.
Starting point is 00:05:38 I think I think this is good thing. Easy come, easy go. Easy. I blame Brie. If I, if I saw you out in a cool guy leather jacket and somebody, I would be, I would deny you three times before the cock crowed. I feel like the, the bomber jacket, though, the sort of sort of tighter fitting, uh, slim bomber jacket these days in 2026, has really just, like, it was a flattering look, and it was cool for a while. Now I just think of, like, guys being dressed in that by costume designers, like a chubby stand-up comedian who has a lot of money so he can hire a designer.
Starting point is 00:06:18 And they're just, they're like, I don't know how to dress. What should I do? And custom designers know, like, a fat, ugly guy looks pretty good in those. So they're like, hey, wear this, where this bummer. Those do, yeah, they do have this feeling of like, oh, you're trying something, but it's pretty safe. Like it looks different, but it's pretty safe. It's the safe swing.
Starting point is 00:06:39 You know what I like? Sometimes people pull it off. Like the type of jacket that Axel Foley would wear in Beverly Hills Cop, like that style, the leather arms. Almost like a letterman jacket. Letterman jacket. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Varsie jacket.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Those are cool. So I don't think I could pull it off. But when you see somebody wearing that, just right. Ooh, I feel like Farrell does that. Oh, yeah. He's pretty locked in fashion-wise, that guy. A little too much. Yeah, kind of goes.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Part of my Dutz lookbook. I'm wearing a 3x shirt that says winner on it. Yeah, the Dave and Busters. By the way, Dave and Buster's having a tough time. We'll get to that in a minute. Sad. Oh, shit. But part of my Dutz lookbook was Eddie Murphy in the 80s.
Starting point is 00:07:22 And like, I put together all these things. I was like, what's that hot shot lover boy look, 80s douchebag that I'm trying to conjure? and I pulled all these images together and I put them up on a wall, a digital wall, but a wall nonetheless. And it was leather jacket, sleeves rolled up. I was like, that's the look. Whatever it is, it's going to be leather jacket
Starting point is 00:07:45 with the sleeves rolled up is like Michael Jackson, Prince, Eddie Murphy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Eddie Murphy had some cool looks in his stand-up specials. Yeah, like leather suits, the form-fitting leather. Bet your ass, delirious and raw looks. Yeah. Was raw also a leather one,
Starting point is 00:08:01 but it was just like bluish. One was black and one was red, I want to say. I'm picturing the red one. Red, yeah, red was the delirious one, I think. That's more the iconic one, I think. I had a little wardrobe mishap myself, a packing mishap that you guys are going to have to deal with. I wore these pants, the linen stripes.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Okay. That you've seen. Iconic. And I thought I packed one other pair of bottoms, a pair shorts. And I was digging around for him. Shorts didn't make it in the bag. So my only other pants, my only other pants are the leather duts pants. Nasty.
Starting point is 00:08:37 It's going to be nasty, man. We're going to have to go to a vintage store and get you a pair of mesh shorts. Hmm. Oh. Oh, behave. Mesh like basketball shorts? Yeah. I do need to get, I'm going to buy some shorts, definitely.
Starting point is 00:08:55 Because of the stink. Oh, plus there's that diarrhea virus going around? Do you guys get that yet? You guys get that yet? The RFK virus? I had a thing yesterday I was eating some I was eating some chicken salad And it was the type of thing I was just I was eating it with the fork
Starting point is 00:09:15 Purchased or prepared purchased or prepared? Prepared but I had been eating it one day And then I left it in my fridge for like a day And I was eating it last night And I was starting to see like you know sometimes When it dries out like the edges of chicken and say I'll get a little like dried. And I was like, oh, that is not too many.
Starting point is 00:09:35 That should be fine. ate him. And then I was just like, about an hour later, I was like, my stomach hurts. Hey, wait a minute. I think it was that thing. And I just like went to the bathroom, threw up. And I was like, there we go. There it's gone.
Starting point is 00:09:50 I was like, I felt great. It was just like exactly what I had like just eaten an hour ago. I was like, blah. Okay. Get that fungus out of my gut. Jesus. Ew. Hey, you know, speaking of the fluids of the body, I've heard myself articulate something recently.
Starting point is 00:10:10 And as it came out of my mouth, I said, Tim, that's rather insightful. Does this ring true for you? When trying to explain to a woman what it feels like to get kicked in the nuts, I said it's kind of like the pangs of diarrhea. the low stomach ache, the ache of the lower abdomen. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. Yes. I think you're hitting on something.
Starting point is 00:10:37 There's got to be a chakra down there that's getting all fucked up. Yeah, it's like we just got one little nerve down there that just reports back. Something's wrong down here. The whole area is fucked. That's probably like the closest I could, yeah, put it in the words. It's a little bit stage Friday, too. Or like, I don't know. I feel like sometimes I need to go to the bathroom before I get on stage.
Starting point is 00:10:57 And then when I get on stage, I'm like, I didn't actually have to go to the bathroom. My body was just scared. Well, I mean, I have the same thing when, if someone's about to kick me in the nuts, when they wind up, I start to get scared. And I see it like, oh, here it comes.
Starting point is 00:11:12 And I'm like, I know the end of this one. I think I have to go to the bathroom. I think I have to go to the bathroom. Wait, wait, wait. I think I have to go to the bathroom. And they're like, okay, run to the bathroom. When you get back, I'm kicking in the nards.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Okay. Dave and Busters. Have you heard about this? Oh, yeah. Maybe we save it for Boo's News. Maybe we kick off Boo's News. There we go. I'll start yapping.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Okay. All right. Beboose News hit it. I thought it was a turd at first. Step back. Step back. I thought it was a turd at first. Step back.
Starting point is 00:11:48 My mom's making brownies down in the basement. I got a taste. Oh, I got a taste out. I walked down the table. What do I see? Play the brown square. Dern's looking back at me. I thought it was a turd at first.
Starting point is 00:12:16 I thought it was a turd at first. Turn it first was sent to us by Alex T. Simmons. And if you have a booze news theme, email it's the Slobby Boys podcast at gmail.mail.com. And if you want to hear funny demos like that from the Sloppy Boys, subscribe to our Patreon show. The Blowout. Patreon.com slash The Sloppy Boys. hear our demos and memos series where we play funny recordings off our phone
Starting point is 00:13:00 that one featuring Mike Hanford and John Haskell. Don't forget, Jeffie was in there too with Hey, hey, hey, hey, what do you say about me? Hey, hey, hey, hey, say to your friends. What'd you say to your friends? That's Alex Simmons.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Surely one of Gene Simmons illegitimate children. Thanks, Alex. Alex says he's got a sound cloud where you could check out his stuff. Alex T. Simmons. A. T. Simmons. Have we I don't think we've gotten a booze news theme from
Starting point is 00:13:31 No one has. Simmons. None of the other podcasts have you. You've checked in with podcast The Ride and Action Boys and Yep. Yep. The boys. We popped our Simmons Cherry or rather he popped
Starting point is 00:13:47 his. Okay, booze news, Jeff, Dave Buster News, hit it. Well, Dave's in trouble and Buster's not going to be any help. Nope, Dave and Busters family arcade going down the tubes. They're desperate folks. What do they do?
Starting point is 00:14:05 What's their big business plan? Fuck the kid shit. Adults only raves are taking place at Dave and Busters's across the country. Really? Yes. Like midnight raves at Dave and Busters. So after hours, you get the all ages crowd out of there. And then at night.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Here comes the molly. So do I have to get an after-hours power card or is that, well, my cards still work? Will the games still be even on? This is a good question. It looks to me like the games are on, but people are more raving to loud music. Wow, that's cool. I want to hit my Dave and Buzz. Is it all like all of them doing this or just selects?
Starting point is 00:14:51 I'm going to say selects. Yeah, me too. That comes from a place of ignorance. I'm scanning this article now and I'm not seeing it. but slate, slate.com has a great breakdown. I know that one of them, Dave or Buster passed away last year. I want to say Buster. Oh, no. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Or Buster dead. So maybe Dave is going rogue right now. And he's been a kind of a rave kid the whole time and Buster was holding them back. Whoa, both dead. Oh. Damn. Maybe it's Dave Jr. and Buster Jr. being like, hey, we're going to rave. We're Jen Zay.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Oh, no. I hope we don't hear. I hope we don't hear from, uh, Raver's Dave Jr. and Buster Jr. as some sort of fucked up duo. Oh, no. Yeah. Raver Jr.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Yeah. Yeah, well, Rayba Jr. Well, we'll keep an eye on that, Jeff. And here's the booze news I have, which is huge news involving a certain party rock band. Ladies and gentlemen, we have confirmed the cities for this year's new year's holiday run. We are not going to tell you the venues just yet because tickets are not on sale just yet, but we want to give you a super ear.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Mike, we want to give you a super early heads up so you could plan your holidays around it because last year people were like, I'm already going to a Ruba. Okay. I'm going to a David Buster's rave. Here it is. Boston, December 29th. The band will be rocking the city of Boston. Righteous.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Righteous. Oh, and we ain't done just yet because the very next night. So we. Brooklyn, New York. We're going to be rocking on December 30th. And the rumors were true. And it is now confirmed our big New Year's Eve bash. will be Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Oh, me. And Margera. That's true. I wonder if he's going to come. Maybe Phil will come. Maybe Phil an eighth. That's exciting. That is exciting stuff.
Starting point is 00:17:20 I like having that figured out already and locked in. Yep. Big announcement on pod. Everyone, book your plane tickets. We played Chicago two years ago. That was off the chain. last year we played New York City and next year, this year we're playing Philly.
Starting point is 00:17:37 That's fun. I like this little tradition. That Philly show is going to be good too because I know where the show's going to be. Yeah, me too. Yeah, I guess I do too. And also, we know Philly fans go crazy. So this is going to be fun to see them level up on New Year's Eve. Well, it's a classy night.
Starting point is 00:17:59 You know, like I tend to, I wear a blazer. on these nights. I'm in holiday mode. Me too. Silver thong. Holiday mode. Jefferson. That just got to me.
Starting point is 00:18:15 Well, is that it for booze news? I mean, how you got to top that? You can't top that. You can't. That's it for boo's news. Wrap it up. Happy New Year. Well, now that that's out of the way.
Starting point is 00:18:33 we get to turn our attention to the drink of the day. Jeff, you always give that, you always give the sound effect a nasty little laugh like it's a, it's a evil thing. It's not evil. It's okay. It's all right to have a little sound effect. Another,
Starting point is 00:18:51 another Duttonism laugh is, if you hear Jeff laugh at you and he goes, it means that what you said was not funny and this is kind of ready to keep it moving. That's not true. He's moving on. Or it's like if you're trying to be interesting, you say something uninteresting, he goes, damn. Oh, no. You might have caught me on that one.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Yeah, these are, these are Jeff is kind of on his phone and you're talking to and he looks up and goes, oh, I've been listening. I should be listening. Damn. Oh, damn. Oh, damn. All right, drink of the day. Who's got it? The drink of the day.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Mentioned it last week. and now we're delivering, ladies and gentlemen, the vodka crane you've had? Oh, I've had. Ooh, yes, I have. And I can't even remember what I have, but I'm sure there's no way I haven't had a vodka crane. Right. I mean, I know for a fact, you were sort of revisiting it here because you've had it under a different name on this very pod back in season one, as if we separate them in the seasons. We did the Cape Codder on this show.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Yes, yes. Yes. Now, the Cape Codder, on that show, you should listen to it. It's a great episode. We explained that that is a drink that it was invented by Ocean Spray to plug their beloved juice cocktail in 1945, named for that old hook out there in Massachusetts, where the bogs are and where they get all the cranberries. But Ocean Spray, they were first calling it the Red Bulls. devil that didn't really catch on. And then
Starting point is 00:20:33 some people called it a harpoon. But they really doubled down. I like a harpoon name. That's cool. Yeah, I like harpoon too. They were going Cape Codder, and that is one image of the drink. But recently, on the podcast, we were talking about it
Starting point is 00:20:49 just as the vodka cran. Vodka cran is what you hear way more likely out at bars. And we were talking about last week because on the new Olivia Rodrigo album, X. Livrod. you what is it it's called it's your you look you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love yes uh something like that yeah toward the end of the album the song expectations she says rocking a mini dress
Starting point is 00:21:16 with a vodka crayon and an open heart and um that sparked a think piece from new york magazines the cut i almost sparked a stink piece over here because it's a parasite right Yeah. A turd is a stink piece. Do you have the parasite, Jeff? I don't know. Oh, he certainly does. I've seen him kind of talking to it.
Starting point is 00:21:46 He thinks we're not watching and he's like, I know he's doing that? I whispered down to my anus. That's another, we were talking about, we were talking about Jeff going, you know, another one of his tells is he's always in a good mood when he's got like laser sharp, diarrhea.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Leaser sharp. Okay, so then there's also pop star Conan Gray has a song called Vodka Cranberry, which I like. And it sparked this think piece. And basically what New York Magazine was saying is it was diving into the reputation of this drink and saying,
Starting point is 00:22:26 hey, we're taking it back. Let's have a Vodka Cran summer because it was saying that the vodka crin reputation is that it's basic. It's that it is because it masks the alcohol, it's an entry level drink that a lot of people learn early on and then never deviate from because they're, well, basic. Basic.
Starting point is 00:22:48 I was, myself was surprised by that reputation and the idea that would be like, we're going to actually be cool and drink it proudly. But I poked around this week and I found multiple. articles throughout the years about vodka cranberry ranging from like bartenders memes about how they ridicule men when they order them or like articles about how Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey drink them which they are the poster children for basic to a lot of people. A lot of articles about like you know glossing it up or changing it from it being a basic thing. But I do think it's a
Starting point is 00:23:30 thing that a lot of people like. I don't think it's hated. What do you guys think of the reputation of the vodka cram? I don't think I really thought of it as a wimpy drink or anything like that. It was just, I think of it is like basic and trashy in the sense of just like it's easy to do. Like trashy and basic in the almost like the high school kid got to make a cocktail type of it. Yeah, it's a blank and blank. And before the 2000s, hipster revival and Madman and all that, the first drinks we learned were vodka,
Starting point is 00:24:07 cranberry, gin and tonic, rumming Coke, Jacking Coke. It was all the blank and blanks. Yep. And then, but also as mixers go, if you got some juices or sodas in your fridge,
Starting point is 00:24:18 the way that we do for the pod sometimes, like sometimes I'll peek into my fridge and I'm like, wow, I have grapefruit juice, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, lemon and lime, or,
Starting point is 00:24:29 you know, just like it, Squirt is often in there or maybe even a nicer, like a badger bev sparking grapefruit. Yeah. But as far as mixers go, it's such a great mask. It's so tart, that cranberry juice. Yeah, yeah. And I tend to think of it as more of my grandmother drank it, Nana Marcia, rest of peace.
Starting point is 00:24:52 And so I think of it as an old lady drink or like an old timey drink. Oh, they didn't always have squirt and sprite. Sometimes they just had juice from the local cranberry bog. Scoop it up right out of the body. What a funny thing that Ocean Spray had to invent cranberry juice cocktail because it's like, we got all these cranberries. They are inedibly tart. Yeah, tart, tart, tart.
Starting point is 00:25:16 And you can buy that juice. And even Ocean Spray makes it, but it's super tart. So the idea that it's like, we own all these bogs, we have to put corn syrup and water into this product in order to make it palatable. You know what this, this drink, but you know, sometimes we talk about like, who drinks this drinks? What do you, what do you picture? Who's the, you know, the quintessential? This type of drink makes me think of you're at, like, you're in your neighborhood or something,
Starting point is 00:25:43 and you see a lady in a tangtop in shorts and like a cigarette and a plastic cup that she got from, like, you know, chunky cheese, it's all worn down or whatever, but it's filled to the top with, like, ice in this drink. and her kids are running around and she's talking to whoever and it's like this lady is drinking on the street and this is this is the drink she drinks every night in that cup when her kids are out playing man you guys these are such uh what's the word uh these are such mean archetypes you guys have i didn't have this impression of vodka crayons at all i don't think i said anything mean Jeff what did I say mean in inhospitable these are such these is such a
Starting point is 00:26:28 ungracious, such in hospitable tips. I'm taking that asshole, uh, online, uh, dickhead, whatever trap you in. What did I say that was mean? Whatever that's called. Why did I say that was mean?
Starting point is 00:26:39 Uh, no, I know what you mean. It's not, it's not the most, uh, glorious of person, but you know, Jeff,
Starting point is 00:26:44 that person, she's got a heart. She's got a heart of goals, as a better effect. Not the most generous. That's the word I was looking for. Yeah, she's got a good heart.
Starting point is 00:26:50 I myself, I like it and I don't have a negative connotation, but I do think we all have like a built-in joke that you then tell the, accuse someone of having a UTI. That's kind of sitting right there. It's what you do. That's,
Starting point is 00:27:03 that one's a nice one. If you're going out with like a bunch of stiffs or something, you're like, well, let me just get this drink so I can always make this joke. Like, God,
Starting point is 00:27:13 he made that UTI joke 50 times tonight. He does it every night we go out. So question for y'all, or Tim, I guess, whoever's presenting, how is this different from a Cape Codder? Or is it just?
Starting point is 00:27:26 It's just, I think that ocean spray had a specific we're essentially revisiting here as we have done with a couple of cocktails of the past but I think that when we did it we were using an original Ocean Spray
Starting point is 00:27:39 recipe and it was like you know ounce and a half of vodka and then this much crann and then garnish with a lime I think this time we're gonna I think we do like the dive bar version which is I think we go two ounces vodka because when you're
Starting point is 00:27:56 at a bar they're probably pouring you two ounces top up with cran What kind of glass? It's not bubbly, but I feel like I see it in a highball glass a lot Or is it just a rocks glass? You know, it's funny. I was thinking like
Starting point is 00:28:08 Cape Cotter and this drink being so similar, a Cape Cotter feels like it's served in a highball. This feels like it's served in a plastic. Or like this is served in whatever. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or like those clear solo. Okay, choose your most boring, boring cup.
Starting point is 00:28:26 But I felt like the, Cape Cotter was sort of cran forward. And I feel like when I do get these at a bar, which is, I don't know, maybe twice ever, I do feel like it's a little bit stronger. So that's how I was going to make it kind of to taste. But just two ounces of vodka top up, optional citrus garnish. Okay. I was going to say, yeah, because the addition of lime is what makes a Cuba Libre, a Cooble Libre.
Starting point is 00:28:54 A shitload of lime. A shitload of lime. And so I was going to get some lime in here because, folks, I'm at I. I know Chicago. I have a whole bar at my disposal. And they're treating me real nice. Oh, yeah. They're going to give me the two ounces, no problem.
Starting point is 00:29:09 I'm going to see how many limes I can squeeze in there. How do I cram all that lime? I haven't put it in their like coolest, biggest glass, too. Tim and I'll get our dumbest ones. They're kind of, are they a plastic cup type bar, like a solo cup, clear solo cup? No, glass, glassware. Glassware. Classy of fancy.
Starting point is 00:29:26 Yeah. Well, do you want to go make these? We'll come back. We'll keep Gabbin. Let's do it. Gavin Newsom. All right. Gavin, we love you.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Come on the pod. America's next president. Folks, we'll be right back with more sloppy boys after this. Now we're back. Vodka Cranes in hand. Let's see. Fagna Cranes in hands. I got my stupidest glass I could, which was kind of this little thing I got on a
Starting point is 00:30:06 a wine walk at the zoo. Plastic guys. I got my, my plastic. Tim, remember we got these, Dodgers. These were shakers.
Starting point is 00:30:16 They had like tops on them and they were like plastic shakers. And me, a generic sort of, it's not a pint. It's like a stub. Yeah, that's kind of what I was picturing. It's like,
Starting point is 00:30:26 it's almost like a water glass. It's like a little bigger than a juice glass or something. Yeah, or like a type of glass you get at the buffet at the morning of the continental breakfast. It's almost like a slightly taller rocks class or something? I don't know. But, um, stretched. So I'll admit here on pod. Well, let's do for sips and then I'll admit here on pod. Ooh. Sippy time. Squeezing my lime.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Ooh. That's good. Damn, that's good. Do you guys use a straw? Yep. Feels like a straw drink to me. Damn, that's good. Yeah, I mean, it's a, I get it. The masking. If you were a teenager having your first drink. And you said, I don't like to taste of booze. You would choose vodka, which is the least of the the least amount of tastes you can get from a booze. And Cran is the tartest of the mixers that is already a part of your life, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:25 Because no one's walking around drinking sweet and sour makes. Cranberry juice is one of these things, too, that I don't have it all the time, but every once a while I'll see it in the store. get it and I love it. For the time I have it, ooh, love the cranberry juice. Love the cram. You know what this pairs well with in the Anford diet is Triscuits and cheddar cheese and you put the whole thing in your mouth and then swill it down with this stuff. Disgusting. Actually, no, the disgusting one you do is orange juice and cheeses. That's disgusting. I can also do port wine cheese. and crackers and orange juice is pretty good too.
Starting point is 00:32:09 No, the cheese and the orange is fucking vile. How dare you? Yeah, but poor wine cheese has some purple in it. Yeah, the color. I mean, I guess you think like, oh, cheese that's are orange, orange juice is orange. And when you're drinking your OJ, maybe put a little raspberry swirl in there, Mike,
Starting point is 00:32:25 and then that's your... There's got to be something... There's got to be something to it, like, why one's tongue really loves that sour and salty maybe or it's sort of universal. Why one's tongue, one guy, one guy. Oh, so many of us feel this way. There's one cracker that they put out there in stores.
Starting point is 00:32:48 We grew up with it, and it dawned on me as an adult. This is a terrible combination, or at least a counterintuitive combination. The cheese crackers with peanut butter, it's like a cheese cracker sandwich with peanut butter. Yeah. Like, who the fuck thought of like cheese and peanut butter? That's that thin little disc of, yeah. But I do like it. They only exist in those like tall plastic wrap stacks of like four or six of those crackers.
Starting point is 00:33:18 Nasty. I like those two, but it's only when I'm like, uh, super hungry. And that's like the only thing I can find. It's like, oh, those are the best thing ever. That's like what a baseball team, like a youth baseball teams eat those. You know what that reminds me of? You know those, um, the, uh, granola bars that are like two sheets.
Starting point is 00:33:38 I think they're called the something valley granola. Nature Valley. Yeah. They're like just, yeah. These, those things you're talking about, Jeff,
Starting point is 00:33:46 remind me of the nature valleys because they like, by the time you open it, they're like all crunched up and at the bottom. There's like, but those things, so you take one bite of those, they fly,
Starting point is 00:33:57 all the crumbs fly all in place. Yeah, they're just crumbed by the time you open. Yeah. Have you seen the, There's ice cream Sunday maybe. There was like a meme of that that was like a guy, an old guy sitting in a chair from like America's got talent and he's like playing spoons on his lap. So he's like clapping out.
Starting point is 00:34:17 But I don't think it's spoons though. He's just like clapping out a beat on his lap. And then someone said me after eating a nature valley bar. Like wiping, wiping the shit. I know that you're talking about that guy doing that like. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Bambone solo? Yeah, yeah. He's like a virtuoso of slapping his thighs. And I had that thought, too, that it is an America's God town, but I have no reason why that I think that just because like the lighting or something. He was on stage at a competition for sure. Have we talked about maybe we shouldn't talk? That doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:34:51 How we were in brief talks with a rep from America's Got Talent. The sloppy boys. I forgot. The Sloppy boys band. And, you know, we did a Zoom. Yeah, we had like a 15 minute Zoom. with a lady. And they really liked us. And she said, you know, like, and we never thought like we would actually be in competition. Like a lot of these acts will go on and you get your five
Starting point is 00:35:13 minutes or three minutes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Send you on your way. Like, we didn't think we'd actually a lot of people to like counter the sort of pro vibe of yeah. Yeah, or like in the first round that you want like an oddity to sort of laugh at. Especially bands. Yeah, yeah. Remember Nathan, Nathan, uh, Nathan Barnett? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Did a, whole, like, kind of had a long run or a couple. He made it till like the end. Nathan Barnett from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where this very drink came from. We didn't make it on AGT.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Maybe in the future, though. We're still in the Rolodex. They assure us. Yeah, they did say, I mean, I'm sure they're just polite to everyone, but they were like, it's not going to work on this season, but we're definitely circle back. The producers love you. And we're like, ooh. I can't stop thinking about us.
Starting point is 00:36:02 My parents were so psyched. Oh, I didn't tell my parents that. That was too far down the pike to. Yeah. That was one where like it was such a light lift for us. We had like a little zoom in the lady. Then after, yeah, the email being like, so sorry guys. None of us really remember this.
Starting point is 00:36:20 It's nice to be one of those acts where like we thought that was such a long shot and we got our own thing going. So we're not hinging on that at all the way that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. A 13 year old yodeler would or something. It was like, fuck, I need to get this. man, it's really funny how the filtering system about of what you're choosing to tell your parents about
Starting point is 00:36:40 because all of us have very nice, loving, supportive parents. But it's like, if you say, like, so much of the stuff I, you know, am spending my time on is never going to see the light of day. But there was like, you know, one time, my parents were like, what did you do today? And I was like, oh, I just kind of like stayed home
Starting point is 00:36:57 because I was working. I was writing something. They're like, well, what are you writing? And I normally don't fill anyone. went in on anything until it's real. And I made the mistake of saying like kind of early, early the idea of a pitch I was pitching. And now it's been two years. And they will ask about it. Like, did you sell that TV show? And they're just being extremely kind and showing interest in my life. We remember the detail about you. Our son, we love that we love. If I say a thing,
Starting point is 00:37:23 it's getting locked in. Like, this is on the question list for two years now. But it is also, it's like so disappointed with something like that because you really have, you never really have any news to tell about something like that that you're writing or pitching because it's, unless it's like, yes, it's sold and it's going to be on TV. Mostly it's just like, yeah, I'm, I've gotten notes
Starting point is 00:37:44 on it and I'm rewriting. Now I'm waiting on notes again. Oh, and I'm also not getting paid for it too. And then sweet parents are like, wow, that's great. I got a good feeling. And you're like, like, let me alone. I got a bad feeling.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Leave me alone. Hey, speaking of work, I had a funny thing. This speaks to the dangers of alcohol. I had kind of a busy day where I had like a deadline. And then I also just got like a email about a meeting that I wasn't expecting to have. So I had a little pile up. And I'm not a, I'm not an anxiety prone. But right before recording this pod, I did have like a couple of minutes sort of like, oh shit.
Starting point is 00:38:31 I actually got to like, and realize how busy I am. I kind of fucking, okay. And I did have like the, like the feeling of. Tim, you just got to lock in, dude. Oh, well, now I'm fine. Mike, that goes for you too. I don't know what you got going on me. You got to lock in, dude.
Starting point is 00:38:46 I'll lock in later. That's my whole thing. I'll do it later. I'll lock in later. Yes. At some point, I'll get around to lock it. It's a good t-shirt. I'll lock in later.
Starting point is 00:38:56 The sloppy boys. But no, what's, what's dangerous is, did have a, you know, like the feeling that people with chronic anxiety to live with, but I did sort of have that kind of feeling. And I was like, oh, whatever, I guess I'll just work through it. But then you take a sip of a vodka cranberry. And it is quite literally, we don't talk about enough on this booze podcast. It's an actual literal, magical cure that is very dangerous because it's sitting right there in your kitchen.
Starting point is 00:39:28 It's a magic potion. that cures what else you. If I would have, instead of a podcast, I got to just drank this and done my meeting and met my deadline and had zero anxiety whatsoever.
Starting point is 00:39:39 It's, it's a, yeah, next time, go to the meeting drunk. It'll be great. I've always, yeah, I've always like marveled at just like this, the most simple idea of like,
Starting point is 00:39:52 here's a shot of whiskey. I'm going to drink that. I'm going to drink one more and one more. And now a couple of breaths. I'm drunk. Like my, what I was, five seconds ago is different. It's the altered states.
Starting point is 00:40:06 I know it's all magic and whatever else or science, but it's, uh, it's interesting. It's very interesting. I agree. Can I do my big admission? It brings us back to the drink in a way. Love that. So I showed up here at I.O. Chicago.
Starting point is 00:40:25 And they were like, what's your, what are you doing on the pod? Ah! And they're asking me all this, all this great. stuff and I have such great answers for them. And so we start making up vodka crayons. So I had one before the show even. And that one. That's why he was in such a good mood.
Starting point is 00:40:42 That one was a Tito's and I assume ocean spray. And it was so delicious. And now I ordered my second round, first round on the pod with my second of the day. And I noticed this one's well vodka. So I went, oh, oh, I just asked for, I got two ounces of the well vodka in a small glass. And I was sort of bracing myself, like, how's this going to go? But good for good pod fod. Delicious.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Fucking delicious. The masking quality is out of control with this cranberry. You could, you could do like dog shit vodka and have a great time. You could fill this thing half with eel sauce and you would be able to taste it. I mean, in general, I am a person that in a cocktail or mixed drink, I'm reaching bottom shelf or lower shelf. I don't need to burn off any name brand shit if it's going to be all piled up with a tart and tangy mix. Yes, true. How about this?
Starting point is 00:41:42 I bet there's a correlation between the number of, as the number of ingredients goes up, the shelf liquor of the shelf of the, the shelf of the liquor goes down because you can mask it. And then if you're doing just the one, you'd want the highest. Right, like a martini. Sort of an inverse relationship. Interesting. It's got to the fear of the sloppy boys theorem. We should put out a textbook for bartender school. As ingredient go up, quality go down.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Ingredients up, quality down. Quality go down. Oh, you know what I'm going to do for my round two is make use of that, I still have some of that vanilla absolute. goes. I've got some citrone left over from way back with the fucking uh, uh, Cosmo?
Starting point is 00:42:34 Cosmo. Now careful. Yeah, you're heading into Cosmo territory there. You're about halfway there. Dangerously close. Get dangerously close. Whenever we were talking about the, uh, you know, the reputation, as it were, sort of unflattering reputation that Mike has
Starting point is 00:42:49 of, uh, the impression that he has of the vodka crayon, I always feel like the Cosmo is the one that's more cursed with like, oh, that one's got a reputation because of sex in the city or whatever. Again, like sort of basic bitch territory. And I don't think I'm,
Starting point is 00:43:08 I want to say the person, the picture of the person I drew, you know, that was painting there. That's not your picture. I love that person. It's the, it's, I like it. So you would say, instead of basic bitch, you're going to say premium princess.
Starting point is 00:43:24 Hey, hey. Premium proper princess. Premium print. Or Prince. Yes. I want to. Prince is who? I think for my round two, I mean, I saw,
Starting point is 00:43:36 Difford said that a harpoon, which is just a different name for this. It said a harpoon is sometimes named with gin. So I think my round two would be gin crann. Gin crayon. I've never heard of that. I was wondering. Gin, cram laundry.
Starting point is 00:43:49 I've heard of Jim and Pan, but gin and crann? Wait, but both of those are. good t-shirts. Gin Laundry is very funny and if we make those on like those stringy
Starting point is 00:44:02 like tank tops that like big muscle guys wear it's like Gin-cran laundry and what was yours Jim and Cran I've heard of Jim and Pam
Starting point is 00:44:13 but gin and Cran yeah that be it was like that but like very bad renderings of Jim and Pam low-res internet photos damn well what am I
Starting point is 00:44:25 going to do for a second round. Well, you're going to go down to that bar and Jeff, can I pitch you something? I'm going to waddle down to that bar with my ETI. What if you do sometimes known as the Rose Kennedy
Starting point is 00:44:42 but also known as VSS the vodka soda splash, a vodka soda with just a splash of crayon to make it pink. Oh God. Vodka soda splash. Vodka? Soda? Splash.
Starting point is 00:44:54 That's when you drink a vodka soda and you watch the movie splash. Yes. A vodka soda splash? It was all right there. Damn, that came up on the last pod too. By the way, I'm so happy we did this drink. Fuck that last week's drink. That one barely squeaked by.
Starting point is 00:45:09 I regret my positive rating. Yeah, what even was the last stupid-ass prune? Tinto de Verano. Tinto de Verano. Oh, yeah. You know, it's hard for me to give a vicious fuck. that drink to anything that's two ingredients, you know what I mean? Like
Starting point is 00:45:28 blank and blanks, the bar is a little lower because you're making my life easy. But like you once you have like a simple great drink like this it's just like what was I fucking around with that last drink for? I agree this is way better. These really do like you know,
Starting point is 00:45:44 we were talking about basic bitch, we're talking about proud princess. These are really more just like the like it's more about a practical person. drink. The practical person. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Yeah. For a practical person. Yes. For a practical prunes. And it's not just the masking. It's not just that the tart of the cranberry hides the vodka taste. No. It does, mainly.
Starting point is 00:46:09 But like, I can tell I'm drinking a vodka cran and they go together nicely and it's got a zippy, zippy zippy zang. I'm tasting the vodka. I'm tasting the cram. And the squeeze a line. I basically went two to one. I did two ounces vodka, four ounces crann. And it's, it's. It's hot.
Starting point is 00:46:26 He went 2-1-2-1. 2-1-1. A 2-1-1. So this, this feels, I don't want to get ahead of my final thoughts, but it feels like when you watch like modern movies and you're like, that's pretty good, that's pretty good. And then you watch like Jaws or Raiders of the Lost Ark. You're like, fuck those other movies. Movies used to be so good.
Starting point is 00:46:43 Like when you come across a five-star experience, you're like, fuck that other shit. Yeah. But no spoilers. Do we get into round two? No spoilers that other movies are bad. No, no, no, no, no final thought spoilers on my part. I, yes, we should do round two, Jeff. Yes, I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:47:02 Let me, let me bring something up to you guys. I've been meaning to ask you for two weeks now. Have you ever heard? Nothing to personal. Continue. Your longest pew, but what is? No, no, no, no, no. Do you want to hear the length or which pew bit of my bush it is?
Starting point is 00:47:18 Which one? Like, which, you know, the way, I have you mapped out like the, 15 down, five to the left. That's going to have you mapped out like battleship. Both you. No, I was going to say, you know, we've talked about the pickle back shot before. Have you heard of this? Somebody mentioned to me, I never had it, but a pico back.
Starting point is 00:47:40 It's the pico de gallo juice. So you do a, I forget what the shot was, but you do that, and then the pico de gallo juice. That sounds good to me, because I always, I always do sneak the sip on those. A pico juice. Hey, what's to stop you? You could do a little Jardineera juice. Oh, shit. Chicago stylies.
Starting point is 00:48:01 That feels like a good, that feels like a Chicago. That's a good idea. Jardenera juice as a back or in a martini. I got a lot of good idea. No, just that one. It's only that one. That's coming out of the Sloppy Boys test. Let's do that as an episode, Jardineer backs.
Starting point is 00:48:19 And it's great because we love Chicago so much. there's a reason why we would do that. We're going to be back. We're going to be in Chicago soon, us three again. Sure. Tell me, remind me what Jardinare is. It's like pickly vegetables. It's like, it's like celery, carrot and carrot and peppers altogether.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Yes. And like celery too, maybe? Yeah, it can be like any vegetables, but it's pickled and it's what's on an Italian beef sandwich. That's stuff. You got that. THC version of that stuff, which was very, it's so funny to me that,
Starting point is 00:48:57 I think that was in Chicago. Given to me by bad liver piss's brother. Yes. Good butt juice. I ate that whole jar in Milwaukee and it sent me out into the night. Oh, you guys went to sleep. That's right. I had a call over the wild because of that stuff.
Starting point is 00:49:17 You went out to find a pink squirrel, right? Or find a ice cream. Yeah, not a good idea. Me high on weed, we're just wandering out of the world by myself, scary. But that did open me up to the idea of Jardinare, and that is a good, it's a nice add to a salad. Folks, don't forget about Jardinare. Round two, what you're going to do? Gin.
Starting point is 00:49:39 VSS. Vidila vodka. Victoria's Secret Service. It's hot babes protecting the president? Good movie, good movie idea. Victoria's Secret Service. Jesus Christ. That is good. You said it in the 90s when that's...
Starting point is 00:49:54 Jesus Christ. What do we do? Why is that not out? All right, folks, we're going to go make a round two. When we come back, more sloppy boys. We're back with round two. I got my VSS. Ooh, that looks nice.
Starting point is 00:50:31 Pink. Oh, and she booked me up, gray goose. Hey. Very nice. Greg Ouse. The goose is loose. The goose is loose. Honk, honk.
Starting point is 00:50:44 Honk but donk. What's the verdict? That's a nice refreshing, a refreshing variant, you know? I'm still getting a little cranberry. I will say, I think I like just kind of, I prefer straight up cran. I want that sugar tart.
Starting point is 00:51:01 You want full juice. Yeah. I did the vanilla vodka and I kind of say it's, It's mimicking. It's almost like the, the quick and easy berry pie. Wow.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Too many people are doing the fancy slow. Well, it's like sometimes you can do a whiskey sour with like the egg white and all the that and that. Or you just do the whiskey and the sour mix. Absolutely. No fuss. No fuss.
Starting point is 00:51:31 No fuss. No fuss. No fuss. No fuss. A little bit of moss. Why not? What is must? Like when you must someone's hair, like fucking with them a little bit. Yeah, must up someone's hair. Don't must me, asshole.
Starting point is 00:51:46 That's like Larry David and Kerb when they're like, we are in the mire here. He's like, is there muck? I'm just saying, is it the muck in the mire or just the mire? I'm having the gin version, a k.a. I guess a harpooner or something. And the gin comes through a lot more than vodka does, expectedly, but almost so much that, believe it or not, I like the vodka
Starting point is 00:52:11 cran better because now I'm getting competing juniper and cran when Cran was the star of the show before. Yeah. Ooh. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Even this, even this vanilla vodka, the Cran is taking sort of vaccine. I was surprised as the vanilla pops through so much, but not the vodka, really just the vanilla it tastes. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. This Cranberry really does have a negating effect on any vodka taste. Yes. Good on you, Krani.
Starting point is 00:52:40 It's the ultimate nullifier. Final thoughts, Tim. Oh, A, O, A, O, A, O, A, O, A, O, A, O. I love it. It's the best. It's kind of a stone cold, it is a stone cold classic. I think you're right, actually. Yeah, it is a stone cold classic.
Starting point is 00:53:05 Yeah. So we're on board for this idea that the, that it is not basic bitch it is premium princess and we are pro vodka crann so the New York magazine article is correct what was the other one it was premium princess and then and then productive prince or
Starting point is 00:53:22 could be no it was the prince had another p word um punctual paisley park paisley park prince um
Starting point is 00:53:34 okay now speaking of the paisley park prince that reminds me of the vodka cran vodka cranberry you guys you've heard of you everyone you know the vodka cranberry it's a vodka and cranberry and it's one of many drinks that's like I think somebody said jacked
Starting point is 00:53:50 it's like four different ways within one second somebody was saying gin and tonic jack and coke you know it's about these fucking vodka vodka crows they work that's the that's why you interrupt them for that too many drinks
Starting point is 00:54:06 just don't work Yeah, Jeff, this is an O-A for me. So, but you've heard of all these drinks that are like blank and blank. Yeah, but have you heard of the blank and blank quiz? That's right. Yes, yes, yes, y'all. Ooh, I hope my, I hope my shirt rings true on this day. Loser's a winner.
Starting point is 00:54:37 And Jeff, what does your shirt say? My says loser. You're wearing that Billy Corgan shirt. Oh, no, Beck, Beck. Wait, is Bill, what was Billy Corrigan? Zero, right. Zero, zero. You're right, I'm wrong. No, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:54:55 Hey, that reminds me, speaking of Beck, he was one of the performers I saw at, I went to the Hollywood Bowl recently, and I went and saw the L.A. Philharmonic and friends doing the music of Wes Anderson films. Really? Dude, was that last night? It was a whole weekend of it.
Starting point is 00:55:13 Oh, man. That sounds really, why was, uh, wait, who, who did you just? Beck, Beck was there? Beck. Yeah, what was he doing there? So, so they had some of the actual, like, musicians that made some of the songs, like, um, Jackson Brown came out and did these days, uh, you know, the Nico song for, yeah, yeah, yeah, uh, Royal Tenenbombs, a lot of the people, but then they also just had some celebrity guests, like, um,
Starting point is 00:55:39 Karen O sang that kink song that's like making time for Mershmore. Oh yeah. Creation. That's creation. Damn, those are good movies. Wes Anderson has become like a parody of himself kind of a punchline, I think, to a certain
Starting point is 00:55:57 group of people, but man, those songs are fucking those movies are so unique. Yeah, it's stupid to me when someone clowns on an artist for having like an aesthetic of their own. It's like you know he knows he's doing that.
Starting point is 00:56:14 And like you, even if you think he peaked or whatever, he's in the 99th percentile of best artists on earth, even his bad movies. So shut up. He has a concerted at, he has a concert at the Hollywood Bowl for his movies. I bet you, I think Beck was also there because he kind of looks like Wes Anderson.
Starting point is 00:56:32 He does. I was thinking that while it was happening. So I'll Penderdor. That probably put him over the top. Like, well, we could, we could have Beck play, he kind of looks like West Andrew. Yeah, we'll have him in. We'll have him on the pod.
Starting point is 00:56:46 No, but here was the highlight. It was the MC, host for the evening was Bill Murray. And I got to say, I realized that I've never in my life laid eyes on Bill Murray in person. And I think I went through the same arc with him that a lot of us
Starting point is 00:57:05 elder millennials did where it's like huge, huge giant fan as a kid and everything and then was like, oh man, this guy rules. And then during the era of like, the man, the myth of the legend, Bill Murray, the bacon of men. Yeah. You kind of got a little sick of him.
Starting point is 00:57:20 No fault of his own. Just sort of the fan base kind of became like a hipster icon. Yeah. Exactly. So I kind of cooled off on it. Only more reason. But that's on me, not on him. But this was the best,
Starting point is 00:57:32 this was the vintage guy because he was emceeing a show. This was night one of three. The show was a little loose. So there were times where he literally, who better on the planet to be like, there's a tech issue between Philharmonic songs and someone has to run out on stage and fill some air. And it's Bill Murray.
Starting point is 00:57:52 And he comes out and he's like, okay, like some like Spanish piano player sitting at a grand piano and there's a problem with his microphone and Bill comes out and is like, folks, let's hear it for him. Come on, let's hear for this maniac. You better clap for him. And then he made a whole thing.
Starting point is 00:58:05 He's like, most people need three hands to play this song. He's going to try it in two. Should he try it in two? Oh, my God. That's so fun. He's going to give it a shot. He was vamping, like, as if he was hosting, like, a telethon. And I was like, most people doing that type of work are basically doing a Bill Murray impression.
Starting point is 00:58:22 And this is the actual guy. That was great. That's cool. Anyway, I don't know how we got there from the blank and blank quiz. Yes. Now, I'm going to give you questions. And then you guys are going to tell me which blank and blank is the answer. You ready for this?
Starting point is 00:58:38 Yes. Yes. Yes. Ouch. After seeing Mary through the window during a big yellow piss, Ted got these stuck in his zipper. Franken Beans. Yes.
Starting point is 00:58:53 Jefferson is on the board. I was like his dick and balls. I would have given you that. Okay. Question number two. They warned of a. and eater. Hollow notes.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Jefferson continues to be on the board. Jeff, you are quick on this night. Question three. Flush. These toilet dwellers make up the drink of the summer. Michael. Fuck.
Starting point is 00:59:32 When I heard flush, I knew what I heard flush, I knew what was coming. That is really the drink of the summer, isn't? Next question. You sleep at a house, and the innkeeper makes you your morning morning. Ben breakfast. Jefferson. Yes.
Starting point is 00:59:50 I love a bed and breakfast, especially Ray's Bucktown B&B. We're not staying there this time. Hell of a spot. Do you guys know what a bed and breakfast is called on a plane? No. Airbnb. Oh, God. God.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Tim, Tim, does he lose a point for that joke? Yep. Mike, you have lost yourself one point for that. Delay of game. So I was back to zero. Back to zero. Michael is off the board.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Oh, man. Next up. Weh, wah. Far too many liqueurs taste like these small cylinders of white and pink. Good and plenty. Jefferson Damn Question
Starting point is 01:00:53 White and pink The box is purple Oh go ahead Splash These liquids may be clear And pulpy respectively But combine they make a screwdriver Or OJ and vodka
Starting point is 01:01:06 Michael is back on the board Oh Okay that's not like a phrase though Yeah Yeah, what was that, say that question again, Tim. Wait, you said vodka and OJ, right? He got it.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Even if I didn't, I got it. You said I got it. Yeah. The question was, splash, these liquids may be clear and pulpy, respectively, but combine they make a screwdriver. Okay, okay. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 01:01:36 Pulpy, I got it up pulpy. Yeah, Jeff, you got a lot of complaints when you didn't get the answer. Everything up to this point has been like a, I don't know. Like a phrase that you said. Like a phrase or a pair. So it's almost like this quiz is taking you on a bit of a journey. That's kind of interesting.
Starting point is 01:01:51 I guess. Ooh, interesting. Next up. You all ready for those? Huh. Tim once taught us the history of two military medicines. One for the plague, one for malaria. But British soldiers learned to combine them for a tasty cocktail indeed.
Starting point is 01:02:12 Sweden's our? No. Gin and tonic. Yes. Oh. Wow. Jeffie. Next question.
Starting point is 01:02:28 Their names start with F, I believe. And I also believe they were on either nickel. Damn it! I was going to guess them. Yes. Oh, shit. Wait, what was the rest of the question? The rest of the question. and they were on either Nickelodeon or the Fortune Network, I believe.
Starting point is 01:02:49 I didn't do much research for that question. One is pH, the other one is F, I believe. Phidious and Fur. Now, Tim, does he get a point for that? Yep. Why? You get another point for that. I do.
Starting point is 01:03:02 Jeff kind of blow me out of the water. It feels like, what, what is the score? Six to what? I'm sort of blowing him out of the water so much. I'm subtracting his points, adding his points. I'm sort of just like playing with his score. Your opponent's score. How can one of the players be a quiz master?
Starting point is 01:03:19 Well, here's what's interesting. This next question is worth double points. So two points? Here we go. Or do you double you? This ain't no chicken run. They were clay and they were British. Fuck, fuck, fuck, I knew it.
Starting point is 01:03:36 Fuck, fuck. I was watching a Wallace and Grumman movie the other day. I forget what it was called, but it was like a newer feature. It was so fun. I hadn't seen those two in a long time. Oh, we should do a blowout. wrong trousers? That's a fun one.
Starting point is 01:03:49 He's got all the inventions. Oh, you know what I was thinking would be a good blowout? Is do a white stripes album like Get Behind Me Satan or Icky Thump, like not one of the... Yeah. I was listening to, I think, Icky Thump the other day I said, or no, what has white orca. Anyway, I was like, this is fucking good. And I kind of forgot about all these albums, these laid out white stripes. I associate those with like, we just moved to L.A.
Starting point is 01:04:15 and it's 2006 or whatever. It was weird because that was their major label debut. And I remember not being hugely into it. But now you're like, oh, this fucking rocks. I was being in. All the music from that time, I was just like, well, I'm not into like latter day Snoop Dog. And it was like drop it like as hot and shit,
Starting point is 01:04:31 which is now a 20 year old classic song. And it wasn't that latter day even at the time. At the time, it was like, oh, this is new Snoop. I don't know if I'm as into new Snoop. Right, because he was what, like 11 years into his career. I don't know if I want to listen to a 32-year-old Snoop. Did I tell you when I saw Snoop the other day, and I tell you, I saw Snoop the other day on the street,
Starting point is 01:04:55 I was walking by. And he's like, oh, he was like, hey, do you have a Kleenex? I was like, yeah, here you go. And he blew his nose and he gave it back to me. I was like, oh, he's like, drop it because it's not. God drop it because it's not. To answer your question, no, you didn't tell us about. drop because it's not.
Starting point is 01:05:15 Yeah, I was like, you're not even saying that. Ferell is here. That's what I said. I was like, Zoo! Next question. Okay. On the blank and blank quiz.
Starting point is 01:05:37 Jiji Jong. Nope. Cal Penn. That means, for answering too early, you have to sit out this question. This one goes to Jeff. Oh,
Starting point is 01:05:49 you just know. These unlikely celebrity collaborators probably made some dang ass weed brownies dude. I know it. Snoop and Martha. Yes. That's funny. We were just talking about Snoop so much.
Starting point is 01:06:07 And by the way, I looked it up. Snoop was 32 when he recorded and drop it like it's on. Oh wow. Toad's age. That's why they call it his towed album. I never understood that. Next up. He said that when he
Starting point is 01:06:22 used my handkerchief. He's like You heard my Toad album? I was like, get the hell out of here. I don't want to get the deal with your snot right now. Next question. These young lovers were very young. She was 13 and he was probably 15 or 16. Romeo and Juliet.
Starting point is 01:06:43 Michael Hanford. Oh, I felt like I was right in sync with my man right at the same time. You were, you were like in sync like the way an echo is sort of in sync with the original voice. Like a hair behind. Yeah, but they're still in sync in a way. Not a hair, like the bounce place is very far away. Next up. What?
Starting point is 01:07:09 These two Hamlet characters eventually got their own Tom Stoppard play. Ah, Rosencrantz and goodness. Oh, my God. No. Tom Stoppard. What's the current tally? The current tally. And here's a funny thing I.
Starting point is 01:07:27 There's one question left, and I should have had an odd number of questions. But wait, one of those was a double one that I got. Oh, right. We got screwy there. Jeff has seven. Mike has six. Ooh, that's pretty good. Yeah, let's check in on Talley Hall and see what the tally is.
Starting point is 01:07:44 Tally Hall. Okay. Now, here's the final question. Mike can tie it up or Jeff can close it all down. The final question. She was a hippie and he was a lawyer. Okay. now that's a must-see TV.
Starting point is 01:07:59 Darman Gregg. Michael is tied in up. Fuck. Was that NBC or ABC or CBS? I think it was CBS. Well, do you want me to take you the point away from you? Because I think Will and Greg, Will and Grace was NBC. Oh, I could have done Will and Grace.
Starting point is 01:08:18 I'm going to do that one. Don't take that point away. Thank you so much for having me. I'm glad I could come by and come back from behind to win. I will use the scratch off money. You didn't win. You tied. Oh, I thought that was worth two points, that question.
Starting point is 01:08:34 No. No. We always usually do something that has like a, oh, if you do the last one you win. Wait, wait. So is that it, it, Tim, or is there a tiebreaker? I'm on the fly having to come up with a tiebreaker question. You ready for it? Nice.
Starting point is 01:08:50 Yep. Yeah. This is the sloppy boys podcast after all. So I'm going to ask you. Okay. This was the brand. of ginger beer used in the original Moscow mule. Ray and Nephew.
Starting point is 01:09:10 No. Oh, wait a minute. Goslings. No, the answer was cock and bull. Cock and bull. But I'm coming up with another one on the fly. Here it is. Jeez.
Starting point is 01:09:27 This multi-cam sitcom was about two rather portly lovers. Ah, Mike and Molly. Fuck, God damn it. Mike and Molly Hanford, you won the blank and blank quiz. Oh. Mike and Molly. And then, hey, then he would go on to Hart Abashola. Mike and Molly, Hart Abasholo.
Starting point is 01:09:55 Crossover. That was exciting. Thank you, Tim. The scratch-off money will go towards the Sloppy Boys Fund, of course. always. Folks, come on by and check us out

Starting point is 01:10:47 out of oh that's sick that's so cool that's that's a that's a wild and colorful uh movie everybody has prosthetics in it yeah prosthetic uh i was i forgot about the big uh set like the big wide wide shot set piece things. They're all like kind of drawn in. Very cool. And actually a few moments that reminded me of some Wes Anderson stuff that he did in, in the Fantastic Fox. Matt painting type shit.
Starting point is 01:11:17 Right. Yep. Cool. I watched that recently and then I was saying to film freak friend of the pod, Neil Campbell, I was like, it's so weird they gave like Warren Beatty this like huge check to make this movie that's like such a. odd stylized thing and then he said well they were in the wake of Batman
Starting point is 01:11:37 so they wanted to do cartoony shit like that and Danny Elfman did the music too and there's a lot of like like a lot of Batmany it was cool though it was it was one of those things that like doesn't get the attention obviously about Batman because Dick Tracy
Starting point is 01:11:53 is just like I get it they took a swing and nobody really cares about Dick Tracy but it was cool to see and be like wow this is a cool little gem plus Madonna's tits if I'm not wrong No
