Starting point is 00:00:01 Hey folks, welcome to the sloppy boys where we take a deep dive into the drinks that you love. I'm Jeff Dutton along with Mike Hanford. Uh-huh. And Tim Calpaccus. What he is up? Oh, and we just had the worst mishap on pod. You seem pretty excited, Jeff. Why don't you tell him the whole story?
Starting point is 00:00:29 Well, we started our frenzy, a boxed wine episode. Ah, yes. We talked all the way through booze news, all the way through the presentation of the drink. Took a break, came back, kept chatting. Second break, we got a little food. And I realized, not just we got a little food, live on pod, we decided to get a pizza. We ordered a pizza live on pot.
Starting point is 00:00:48 And then the guy arrived. It was, this was thrilling. We were telling great stories. We were talking about back to the future a lot. People would love that. I was talking about Mike's sleep cycles. We had a booze news. Jeff told us about a rent fare.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Right. Now, so here's what's going to happen, folks. We're two big glasses deep. We're two rounds deep in a pod that didn't get recorded. Yeah. Somebody didn't press record on the Zoom Podtrack P8. Who of the three of us usually hits record? We usually do all of us grab one hand and each finger has a third of the button.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Look, folks, things happen. We're here at JD's Place. Now, you can't really call it like a cool place. No, it's like, it's not. It's not. It's not. Janis House. Where everything goes wrong.
Starting point is 00:01:38 No, no. It's still. J.D.'s place. But not everything goes right all the time. Well, the JD is where not everything goes right. Now, this is the first time. Normally when we're doing it over Zoom, there's some sort of safety, safety net safety measure. This was the first time, 40 minutes deep or more.
Starting point is 00:01:59 I say more, but yeah, yeah, yeah. Lost. Lost. But you know what, folks, probably better that way. We were saying a lot of controversial things. Yes. A lot of, we got very political. We got Hollywood gossip.
Starting point is 00:02:11 It's good that's gone. We got extremely political. On both sides, extreme left and extreme right. On both sides, we swung back. We also, each one of us took a big chunk of time to go into our personal fetishes and kinks. Oh, yes. Shameful as they are. We discussed our fursonas and our personalities.
Starting point is 00:02:29 I talked about my triumphs and fears of the bedroom. The triumph? Hey, I'm there. The fear? Finishing. Oh, God. I've never. finished. I've never finished a fuck.
Starting point is 00:02:44 Okay, to recap the shit chat. Let's just do new. Oh, yeah. Let's just do it. Think of, you know, that's the second time to tell that story even better. Or throw a few more extra details. Let's just say that was the lost episode. I just, but I spun a whole yarn about how I went to a rent fair and I did archery and I went to the Lucas Museum and I saw Rockwells.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Just listening to it back that way. That's about as much as you need. You went to a rent fare. You went to the Lucas Museum. He did stuff. But if you were to retell it, me and Mike will be bored to tears. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:21 That's fine. We'll just come up with brand new stuff. And it's about the audience of my guys. And you know what? We're having a good time anyway. Okay. We're getting these cabs sabs and I'm on board. I'm pretty deep.
Starting point is 00:03:32 I'm, this is my second glass, but they're double glasses. So I'm like three glasses of wine in. And I ordered a pepperoni pizza. from Lucifer's live on pod and what arrived was a pepperoni green pepper pineapple and lettuce? Lettuce is straight.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Lettuce is a little straight. I feel bad for whoever didn't get this piece of because this is their pie that they they hand selected all the ingredients poorly but this is what they do. And they're sitting there and there. I was like, where's my warm lettuce?
Starting point is 00:04:03 When you were ordering, you probably had like little buttons for like, oh, I add this and this and this. When you like went to maybe swipe up your app to get away. Did you go a bunch of weirdos in the ass? Oh shit. I'll tell you this driver was cool, though.
Starting point is 00:04:17 He arrived. He was like a motorcycle man in a motorcycle gear and he had his helmet on and his visor on the whole. I didn't even see his eyes. Whoa, cool. And he's like, I'm throwing pizzas wherever, man. Now look, I have trouble letting go of what of the past. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:32 But we do need to talk about let's just get people on board. Yes. With the drink that we've had a lot of already. Yeah. Let's do the backwards. version of it. Tim. So no booze news.
Starting point is 00:04:43 No booze news. We're skipping it. I went to a rent fare. I drank a bunch of meat. It was really great. Well, go ahead. Go ahead, Tim. Well, during boo's news, I played a banger of a booze news theme by Eric Kang.
Starting point is 00:04:54 It was called Letet du Forma. Oh, you would love it, folks. Then we drank, the drink of the week is Francia box wine. So I bought Francia's version of last week's drink of the week, Beatbox. It's called Fuel. It's a 14% alcohol by volume. single serving container ready to drink boxed wine drink
Starting point is 00:05:13 like beatbox it's them trying to keep up I brought in this fuel that was Tiger's blood we tasted we didn't like it It sucked and also I made the very Cany observation that it was franzi letting its hair down sort of saying like Franzy is fancy it's not actually fancy To begin with yes yes yes
Starting point is 00:05:28 Now then I want those points Shit chat was done Boo's news was done Now Tim I made a A big meal about how you off the dome. Oh, yes. Spat out the Francia history.
Starting point is 00:05:43 That was pre-wine, though. Let's see what he can remember again. Like the Francia family and the boxing of the wine. Can he do it this time a couple glasses deep? You're wondering if I'm still the memory man. The memory man. The memory man. Francia is an old California wine company started.
Starting point is 00:06:00 He's a little slower this time. In 1906 by Italian immigrant Teresa Francia. She started it up in Norcault. It was a nice little respected wine company throughout the 20th century blew up. Everybody loved it. Very big. We got very popular. It was not pretentious. It was crushable, drinkable wine for the people.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Then in the 1970s, Coca-Cola bought it. We all know that pissed off Fred Franzy. And he went solo. Oh, yeah. Oh, this I've heard of this. Now, Coca-Cola had it for a little while. Then in the 1980s, they sold it to a big conglomerate, the wine group. And then the wine group in 1985, they said to themselves, hey, let's do box wine.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Dutts and Tim and Hamford are all two years old. Let's box it up. To celebrate their second birthdays. We're boxing. They were influenced by some bag and box and nozzle technology coming from Australia. So they boxed up their wine. It's actually a bag. We made a big deal of how it's a bag, not a box.
Starting point is 00:07:03 Tim, take it away. It's a bag within a box. And then they said, we're going to just be for the people where the anti-pretentious wine. And that really worked. And then college kids started loving it. And then in the dawn of social media, there was a trending thing that was slap the bag. And there's a game at sorority houses and frat houses where somebody's walk around, they've taken the bag out of their franzia box. They walk around, they hold it up and someone will kneel down, grab the nozzle, take a big glug jug jug of the wine as long as they want.
Starting point is 00:07:33 and then when they're done, they slap the bag, just show that they're done and send it around the party. Well, almost like when you take a bridle off a horse, like a crazy horse, like, get out of here. Or almost like the time you're at the Fredonia house and you have a $100 right aid kitty pool, and the thing jiggles when you slap it. And I think that I talked a little bit about tariffs and other stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Oh, you went on at length. But I'll tell you, can I debut some new information in this recorded episode that I didn't even get into? Interesting. He's got, he's got fresh tariff stuff. I think I mentioned before, my beloved former neighbor, Matt, was a, when. I'm not loving this. I'm not loving this story already. Folks, Google, uh, Matt.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Box wine backpack or my favorite guy at the street fair or my favorite guy at the festival. This goes viral every couple years, but my friend Matt put a box of wine. on his back and went to a music festival. And he had put like a dispenser, like a pile of Dixie cups on his back too. So people were, yeah, people were coming up, grabbing a cup, he was pouring them wine,
Starting point is 00:08:45 and he's been viral. The picture like resurfaces on Reddit like every couple of us. Yeah, that's great. Folks, this is one of Tim's other friends who aren't his co-host, who went viral for alcohol reasons. Jeff, after your little non-recording stunt,
Starting point is 00:08:59 you're going to be looking for some other friends, I think. What the fuck? You can hang out with Matt. He's great. And my Aussie neighbor, Adam. Adam. Awesome. Ozzy Adam.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Now, I'll tell you this. Oh, he's the guy who gets lobsters out of the sea, right? He swims. He goes out. He swims out in L.A., swims out of the ocean, swims down with no, like, scuba gear or anything, swims down with no traps, catches lobsters with his bare hands,
Starting point is 00:09:24 brings them home and offers them to me. We got to start swimming more. This one's for me name a Tim. And I said, this is amazing. Where do you go to get these? And he's like, I can't tell you. It's a secret. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I'll get him on the seafloor. Wait, it's probably illegal, too. You're not, I'm learning that from, sorry, I learned that from Seinfeld. Can't you just not take lobster? Well, Kramer took him from the traps. Kramer. Kramer. My man, the neighbor.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Cosma. Kramer. That's funny. Your neighbor and Kramer's a neighbor. Sort of a neighbor. Neighbors like to catch lobsters by any means necessary. It's a whole neighbor thing. Kind of, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:59 One fortuitous thing was when the incident happened. Which incident? The podcast recording incident. Oh, yeah, sure. Now, I had started with spinning a yarn about Hanford's sleep habits and I never even finished it, if you recall. So now maybe that's a story I could tell anew. Yeah. Yeah, I wish you would. Yeah, I wish we would. And it's nice. We're already 11 minutes deep. So we're, we're getting there. We want to get to like 12 or 13. Yeah. That should be fun. It's funny. We've never started an episode tipsy, before, have we? No. No. A blowout. Every blowout. Every blowout. Folks, patreon.com slash the sloppy boys. That's where you get a whole
Starting point is 00:10:40 different show every week. It's only $5 a month. Jesus Christ. And this week is going to be especially great because we're doing the Whitney Houston Challenge and we're going to have our motor skills rather impaired indeed. Tim, take it away. Okay. So, Hanford's staying with me at my place right now. Wonderful house guest. Polite as how the cat. He ate all my cheese. Well, you know, he may have eaten all your cheese when he's saying, with you, but when he said with me, he brought in peanut butter and bananas and I help myself. He's bringing in food. And Eminem Trail Mix.
Starting point is 00:11:12 He stays with him. He brings in food. Damn near ate the whole bag. That Eminem trail mix too was good. It was regular Eminem's, peanut Eminem's, and what? Peanut Butter Eminems in peanuts and raisins. That was, it was sort of incestuous to eat peanuts and peanut Eminemones. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:26 It was nasty. You know? It was like these are your relatives that were kidnapped and encased. And now they're back together with you. That's weird. Now you're going to get crudged up with them all. So I was saying on Sunday, we woke up early, went to a bar to watch football, drank some booze.
Starting point is 00:11:46 That will throw off a sleep cycle. So this is a unique sort of a day drink. Yeah, solid day drink. We had a big, huge amount of burrito at the end of the day at about 4 o'clock. Yeah, we added some Labat blues and then some liquor when we were having our Elcompaid. Honestly, I think I only had over like from 10 a.m. to 4. 4 p.m. maybe five beers or five drinks. Right.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Four beers. But that's enough to make a guy snoozy on a very sunny hot day. For sure. But like that's just like I've done more drinks than that. Yeah, I never actually felt my buzz, but it's just enough to make you sleepy. Yeah. Now, we get back to Tim's place. It's dark and cavey and air condition.
Starting point is 00:12:23 We say we're both going to take naps. Yeah, yeah. Tim takes a normal one hour nap. Hanford continues this. I say, hey, Mike, I'm going out with some of my Hollywood friends. I'm friends with some high-powered writers. Jocelyn and Seth. I said I wouldn't fit in.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Oh, me. I'll watch the house, make sure nobody comes in there. I go, I say, that's totally fine. I get it. You're continuing with your nap. I go out to the Benjamin. I have a fancy dinner with my friends. I return home after 10 p.m.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Who paid? Seth Reese. I return home. I just asking questions and things that we've covered the last. Now, Seth Reese is the writer of the film The Menu. Yeah, he's. He's got it. And a big, bold, beautiful journey.
Starting point is 00:13:08 He's good. So he must have, when he picked up the piece of paper that had all the food listings, he must have been like, I've seen this before. The food listings. There's food listings and then numbers on the right. Meanwhile, me and Jocelyn were like, what the hell is this piece of paper? Who's littering on our table? We're trying to eat.
Starting point is 00:13:25 After my Hollywood dinner, I returned home. Hanford is kind of just waking up from his nap. And then I say to him, because you were all pepped up, if I remember. I had a Celsius before dinner. Yes, the official energy drink of the sloppy boys LLC. Tim, take it away. I said, Mike, you've been sleeping all day. How are you going to sleep at night?
Starting point is 00:13:43 And you're like, I think I'll be able to. Now, we watch some YouTube videos. Yes, one of them was about Back to the Future Part 2. And yes, another one of the videos was the detailed, detailed history of Walk Hard, the Dewey Cox story. And just how it didn't. This kid was like, it just didn't work. It didn't make money.
Starting point is 00:14:03 So now at midnight, I say, Mike, I'm going to take my slumber and I go to bed. So I don't even know the end of the story. I'm curious, you, Mike, you slept from four to ten. Four to ten. And when I woke up, I thought it was seven. Oh, no. It's like, oh, yeah, that was just a little nap. Whoa, that was a six hour.
Starting point is 00:14:21 And now the primary resident is fast asleep. And now, and now it's up to the night watching. I figure I was like, Mike's not going to be able to sleep. He's probably going to watch a movie or something. So I told you, hey, download the Apple, remote apps so you can control my app. Yeah, remotes aren't working. So I got that remote app. And I said, Tim, last time I did this, I had
Starting point is 00:14:39 to pay. It was a monthly charge. You said, you got the wrong one. I got the free one. Oh, you got the free one. And now that really opens things up for you as far as content. No, I can watch. I can watch. So I'm on Amazon Prime. And what do you got? I put on 2025's weapons.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Oh, nice. And I'll tell you something. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Starring my personal friend, Witt Thomas? Yes, yes. Your personal friend has to reacquate himself with some cutlery manners. I don't know if that's not great etiquette in us. The primary... What'd you call me?
Starting point is 00:15:16 Primary resident. The primary resident goes asleep. And you put on a film starring his close personal friend. Yes, yes, yes. I had to wait until he was asleep to get all of his friends on screen. Well, also, you know, true, if you would have tried to watch that with me in the room, might have been telling you anecdote. You know, me and Witt like to do this.
Starting point is 00:15:36 Yeah, he doesn't actually do that. He doesn't dress like this. He doesn't always sit comatose in front of the TV. I'll tell you that much. Now, Tim, you might have the opportunity to watch the end because I still got 40 minutes left. But I remember seeing theaters and liking it. And it's one of those movies where I was like,
Starting point is 00:15:53 oh, yeah, why did I like that? And it's just like watching again. You remember all the parts you forgot. It's a force. It's a force, and I enjoyed it. And I forgot that they tell it in those different ways from different guys' perspectives eventually. But yeah, then after probably about 1 o'clock,
Starting point is 00:16:12 I went to sleep, slept till late. Aw. Here we go. I was expecting you to go off and have a whole night at the museum adventure in Tim's place. Nah. Well, like I tried. You hear a little bump in the tiger room.
Starting point is 00:16:25 You go check it out and... The liquor bottles come to life. Yeah, yeah. The tiger rug is like, eh. The liquor bottles are... drinking each other. You must be Michael. We need your help.
Starting point is 00:16:37 What do you need? I'll do anything. Well, you need to drink all of our friends' blood. Really? So this is your blood? That's your blood? Yeah, I guess liquor is the blood of a liquor bottle. The bottle's blood.
Starting point is 00:16:50 That's why they're so drunk all the time. Well, as much as I'm disappointed, you didn't have a wild adventure. I'm just as shocked that you were able to, after a six-hour nap, get seven hours of primary sleep. I'll tell you what I. If you're an erratic sleeper, sometimes you'll stay up really late playing Fortnite with me.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Yeah, yeah. Other times, sleep for 18 hours a day. It's being, yeah, because that other time on the road, the mark of a healthy man. I went down for like 15 hours of my family who was texting me like, where are you?
Starting point is 00:17:22 But, yeah, it's when I'm traveling and moving beds and this and that, I've got like all types of different things happening. Yeah, you know, know, I'm not sleeping so great. So then when I get back to like a comfortable zone where I'm also, you know, sleeping off a day drink, I can sleep for a long time. So let me ask.
Starting point is 00:17:41 It's a lot of makeup. Let me ask you this. We're passing you around out here. You've stayed at Dave's place. Dave, Tim, Dave, yours, back to Tim. Now, see, you used to stay at my place and yet the couch doesn't agree with you. It's just the couch.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Yeah. But I was away at the rent fare drinking mead shooting bullseyes at the archery range. And you said, hey, Jeffrey while you're gone, why don't you let me sleep in that big beautiful bed? I won't have a ton of farts all weekend. No, no. How did the bed treat you? Bed was nice.
Starting point is 00:18:13 You've got a nice pillow, so you've got nice pillows. Four pillows back there, T. Four pillows back there. I had to cut it down, because I'm usually two pillow guy. Two thins, two chubsters. Yeah. I have two thins, two chubsters. But you know what's funny?
Starting point is 00:18:24 I kind of think about it too much while I'm sleeping. I arrange. I arrange them just so. Well, when I make my bed, I put the thins. They're side sleepers. I put them on the bottom and I put the big fluffy puffies on top. So wait, you stack the pillows for your head?
Starting point is 00:18:38 This is just when I'm making the bed. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah. But then when I get in there, I sleep on my side. I'm talking about active sleep. When I sleep on my side, I got to be honest, I neglect those flat hard ones.
Starting point is 00:18:50 And I got the big puffers. I got one cushioning, the other one, I'm hugging it or it's going between my knees. Oh, I do the knees. I'm not just hugging him also. You're my new girlfriend. If it's just me, I'm head on a chubster.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Thinny between the knees. Thinny between the knees. Thinny in back of me, in case I want to flip over in the night, I don't have to take the pillow with me. I got another thinny on the other side. And then what do I do with the other chubster? I sort of hug it between the arms the long way. It's jutting out of me like a Lincoln log.
Starting point is 00:19:26 A long way. No, no, no, Jeff. It should be in the vertical way so it runs the three. the length of your torso. Tim, Tim. That's what the, that's what the thin between the knees is.
Starting point is 00:19:36 I'm in there. So wait, does it happen, though, that you're laying on your side, let's say you're on your right side. Yeah. Mid, in the middle of the night,
Starting point is 00:19:42 you roll over to be on your left side and your head perfectly lands on that pillow that's been waiting for you? Oh, no, no, no. So I'm like this, ready? I'll, let's bring this into the room.
Starting point is 00:19:53 I'll wedge it under my back so I can't roll over. Here's me. Head on chubster. Thinney on the side between the legs. Okay. Finney on this side in case I want to flip over. Behind you.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Between the legs, behind. But it's not really doing anything for support. I'm sort of, I'm sort of, I've got a thinny on either side, spooning style. And then right out in front of me, I've got the other chubster. Okay. Like this. But I failed to understand this. Worth stopping down and standing up and miming.
Starting point is 00:20:28 I'm with you 100% until I understand. The thinny behind you seems like my thinny behind me, I kind of wedge it under my back so that it's kind of keeping me. Between your butt. It's like pushing you forward. It's a door jam. Yeah, yeah. Between your butt cheeks.
Starting point is 00:20:42 You open up your ass and then let it go, saw gong! And once those cheeks snap shut, it's there all night. Yeah, I keep my, after I've done brushing my teeth, I keep my tooth brushing my butt cheeks. Like, lies. But that's, that's like the four pillow method. That's, that's too obvious.
Starting point is 00:20:58 I've got the same thing in my house where I've got two fatties and a smallie, but I just use two basically to get pushed off to the side. But it is the worst when it's like the middle of the night and you kind of wake up and you're like, oh, the pillows are all wrong. And you put it on, you're like, this isn't the right one. You're trying to figure out pillow density have a sleep. Hotels do this. And sometimes my mom will select these pillows.
Starting point is 00:21:22 We've come across these on the road. Oh, yeah. The ones that are almost airtight. Yeah. pillow cases so that when you lay on them, they're like, you've got to like deflate them, like squeeze the air. Your ear can like get like suction to it all. I hate if it doesn't deflate, then you're on an air pocket all night.
Starting point is 00:21:41 You're like, thought, fuck. But like the one that sort of traps the air and then it's just like you're sort of on an air bag that then deflates. I hate when you go to a hotel and the pillows are like, they should be kind of rectangular shape, but they're like put in such that they're like square. And then you have to like, kind of like, you know, like chop, chop them out. Like, I don't know what you would do.
Starting point is 00:22:03 Also, for me, I'd just go Bruce Lee on their ass. Watch her. Hi. Airbnb I was just at in Idaho Wild. Pillows too long. All too long. Oh. This long.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Yeah. You don't need that. Two, two long pillows. I feel like you try to move that around in the night. You're moving around like a telephone pole. Yeah. Hey, you know, I heard there was a bigger, a bigger match. than California King, it's like a
Starting point is 00:22:29 or a Wyoming King or something like that. Like a bigger, even bigger. Texas King. I wish the California King was the biggest of all. I tell you, I love it. California King is only the longest. It's not the widest. Because we're tall out here. It's for the tall
Starting point is 00:22:45 boys. Shaq. Kobe. Right. Shacoboby. Chicago. Right. Jacoby Shattachshaddo. Yeah, yeah. Jacoby Ann Myers. Tall in his own right. Now, I,
Starting point is 00:22:57 gave the history of Franzio box wine, but we didn't explain it for our sips or the taste of it or anything. No, this is a, oh, we should say this is a, uh, in, in the franzia box, it's for the on the box. It says fresh up to six weeks, once it's been open. Five liters is in this bag in the inside, which equals six point seven bottles and that equals 34 glasses of wine. And this is a cabernet, Cabernet Sauvignon. It says full bodied with notes of black cherry and we're all tasting that.
Starting point is 00:23:27 black cherry. And on the, there's a spectrum of body and sweetness. It's more toward the full body, and it's more toward the dry on sweetness. And it makes the point that it pairs well with steak and grilling season and a camping trip. So we decided to order a pepperoni pizza.
Starting point is 00:23:46 I got a frenzy of my camping trip. Don't stop her will die. I got frenzy on my campaign trip. Now, I said before the incident. Yeah. I had said that this wine, when I drink it, I can tell that it's not fancy wine. I can tell it's not top shelf. I can tell it's not mid-shelf.
Starting point is 00:24:06 But to complement Francia, if this were served to me in a restaurant or something, I wouldn't know necessarily that I'm very bottom shelf cheapest possible wine. I think that when you get below waste level at the grocery store, it starts to blend together a little bit. And when I buy myself wine, I'm typically buying like if I want to impress people, I'm buying like a $27 bottle of wine. If it's just me, I'm having like a $12 or $13. Oh, he's rooting around. He's rooting around down there. Now, this is.
Starting point is 00:24:39 He walks in the world wine store in his stomach. This was $16 for the equivalent of 6.7 bottles of wine. So this is the cheapest fucking wine in the world. But I wouldn't know. This is why college kids are going ape from coast to coast. That's the problem But it's like Especially when you got that pepperoni pizza
Starting point is 00:25:01 Oh yes Sure Now this I should say also We're drinking the Cabernet Sauvignon I wanted to buy chilled red But I went to two different stores I didn't have it sorry folks But we did our best to chill it
Starting point is 00:25:12 Did we not? We did we put it in the freezer This yeah I'll tell you what As I'm thinking about I think I could tell like You know like two buck chuck That big
Starting point is 00:25:21 Yeah Charles Shaw Charles Shaw It can't be $2 still. It's probably like $8. Yeah, yeah. But that one, I feel like I could tell that's like a not a good one. Like if I did a blind taste, I'm like, ooh, that's not good.
Starting point is 00:25:35 But the rest of these, I think, are the same. The only time I've really been able to tell is a side by side. That's when I was at Palermo, the restaurant out here on Vermont. Right, because when you're waiting for dinner. They give you table wine. Free wine. And you could be like, I'm sitting down here in the lobby. And they just said, one of glass of wine.
Starting point is 00:25:54 here you go, it's free. In a big red jug, but here, somebody at the table, because it was a birthday, ordered a bottle of red. Sure. And so to go back and forth between the red that you pay for and the red that you don't, ooh, stark. That's nasty, man. Stark contrast. But it takes a side by side.
Starting point is 00:26:13 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I definitely could not do a... I bet you if you compared this to any... This would have been good podcasting. Actually, I'll see if I have a bottle of red. I think I only have my, get your fancy bottle of Frank family. That would be a special.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Okay. I'm waiting for a certain orange chito to slip this mortal coil. You, you, when he died, he ain't dying for a long time. Well, that wine's just going to get better and better,
Starting point is 00:26:40 isn't it? That's true. Now, Jeff is referring to the fact that one time we got a tour of the Frank family vineyards up in Napa and we got fancy ass bottles of wine. He's been sitting on his eye butt chugged mine like immediately. No, No, no, Tim, no, you can't do that.
Starting point is 00:26:55 No, no, no, no, no. We went up there for Mookie's birthday, so you don't go up there and just chug it. And then it was courtesy of Robbie. Robert, director of Blood Sweat and Beers, the... I love that movie. But they brought us up there. They gave us the whole wine tour.
Starting point is 00:27:10 They passed us around. We stayed at the guest house right in between all the vines. You step out the front door. I snagged my sleeve on a vine to the left. I banged my head on a vine to the right. I was situated between two vines as if they were two slim pillows. They said, they said, don't fall, don't sleep too late. The vines will get you.
Starting point is 00:27:37 If you sleep too late, you're woken up in those twisty vines. The vines mean, I want to get free. I want to get free. Is that why you couldn't sleep because the vines were on both sides? Shut up! Shut up! Shut up, shut up. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:27:50 Now look, the strokes got famous and Jet got rich. but what happened to the vines? I don't know. The hives are still going. The hives have been playing festivals. What did I say the vines? Well, yeah, that's another one. That's, I want to get fray.
Starting point is 00:28:03 What are the hives? Yeah, right, right, right. I do what you do, and I do what you do because I want to. And then Jett is. Oh, yeah, I like that. I want to get free. I mean, no. Wait, Getfrey was there was a single, but they had another one too.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Oh, Jet was, Oh, jet was, are you going to be my girl? And it also was, oh, look what you've done. you've made a fool of everyone. Jeff, if that's them, then that's up to you that I don't need to know about that. It simply is. It was on the Ministry of Sound,
Starting point is 00:28:33 chill out sessions, a perennial favorite for weed smokers in Ithaca college. What was it called? Chillout sessions. Ministry of sound. I remember that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:43 Chill out sessions. Okay, okay, okay. We're 30 minutes in. Yeah, all right. Let's take a little break. This is when we would take a... Hold on this is weird because you just said, you just mentioned Ithaca College
Starting point is 00:28:53 and then you said 30 minutes Oh The Ithaca College television show that I was the head writer of was 30 minutes with Dave Ferguson Yes and I'll take it one step further It was the debut of Pizza E Everyone's favorite
Starting point is 00:29:07 That's right anthropomorphic talking That was the debut? The debut? Yeah He was friends with He had a friend who taught It was funny What was he?
Starting point is 00:29:16 He was like oh what's called it odd pizza? Yeah what was that? Pizza E and It almost felt like You could have SpongeBob and Patrick You gotta put that up and rip it and put it up Yeah, I gotta rip it and pip it.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Folks, we're gonna pour some more wine. We'll be right. Yeah, let's turn the AC. Yeah, let's turn that on the AC. We'll be right back with more sloppy boys after this. We're half on the bear! And we're back with round two, round four of Francia from the box. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:56 I'm pleased with this drink. You are? I'm quite pleased. And I'll tell you this. Tell us about it. tell you why I'm pleased because I'm not a big wine drinker. When I have it, I like a red wine with food. It's going well with this pizza, I think. I can definitely, I can't remember I said it in this one or the last one. This red wine taste gives me like sort of a steaky taste.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Maybe it's just like an association thing. No, that's the pairing. Yeah. It wants to pair. It wants to be paired. But I'm happy that I don't like, can't tell. if this is something not bottled one. You know what I mean? Like this is no better or worse than anything I've had. I'm proud.
Starting point is 00:30:39 I'm proud. I'm proud of it. And they should be proud of the work they've done. And that's a funny thing. Folks, he's enjoying it, he needs to say. Now there's just trying to spread it out as long as we can't. There's listeners that will be appalled screaming at their phones over this. That we are enjoying your friends.
Starting point is 00:30:54 We welcome that. We welcome that. We welcome that. But what we ask you to do, dear Sir Somalia, Look at your finances. Look how much you're spending on your fancy wine. It's nice to live in a world where you haven't acquired a taste for good wine because this is a $16 box of wine.
Starting point is 00:31:14 The fool laughs last. Yes. Indeed. I do feel drunk, though. Not me. Really? Not enough yet. Wow.
Starting point is 00:31:25 I think I've had five glasses. I'm on four. What's the most wine you've ever drank? I'm going to give us some real thought. I've probably done a bottle over a night. Like a bottle to myself maybe in like a Yeah. I think after that I'm just like sick of wine. Yeah, like splitting two bottles with somebody
Starting point is 00:31:48 as you're like watching movies and Yeah, like a dinner. I would say it's a very normal thing to have a dinner with someone and split one bottle of wine. Sure. So then an evening together that includes dinner and a bar or dinner and back to my place, two bottles, two people. Sure, of course. You got the food, you got movie, you got probably the foreplay.
Starting point is 00:32:06 There's wine as well. And then also from penetration onward, that's... Oh, splashing around. I will say, watch those sensitive areas, folks. This still is an alcohol. It will burn your meatas. It will burn your labia. Your meat is.
Starting point is 00:32:23 It is funny, though. Let's say two people drink two bottles of wine. That's normal. It does feel funny if you're one. person and you're like, I'm going to drink a bottle of wine. And I did with my fancy bottle, when we went on that wine tour, I ordered to my house. You're like Miles. I'm like Miles.
Starting point is 00:32:41 I ordered to my house a bottle of wine that was like 150 bucks. Jack, Jack, I don't do that. Miles, you got to, you're just Miles. Come on, Miles. You sounded like not Brian Thomas Hayden Church. You sounded like somebody else. Oh, Jeff, the other day we were in the car. Paul did you money.
Starting point is 00:32:58 Miles I had a good Remember the other day I did a good Tony Stark impression You did I don't know if I got I don't know if I still have it
Starting point is 00:33:07 But you look Oh Tim Almost swerved in traffic What was that? What did you just say? You put blue sunglasses on this man Oh yeah yeah yeah And he will gift you
Starting point is 00:33:15 The best Robert Downey Jr. But I'm on the record on potter For hating Robert Donny Jr. Oh Okay That's not good I need those glasses Oh no don't get him
Starting point is 00:33:28 Oh shit All right, let me see The glasses will work Well, give it What's like a line he says We're not gonna do that Like that sort of bullshit Yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:33:40 This is Pepper Pots Oh Tony Tony we gotta do this Oh I don't think so It looks good with the glasses Tim you should have seen him In the car it was really great That was so terrible I don't think so sounded more like a DZ Discovery Zone commercial
Starting point is 00:33:58 I don't think so I don't think so. Now, do Robert Downey Jr. in Oppenheimer. Oh, yeah. Oh, I hope I win that little gold statue. And I did. I did. I did indeed.
Starting point is 00:34:16 Ah, very nice. That's a heavy glass, Jeff. Heavy glass on the old nose bridge. Sometimes you notice, geez, we're all doing that, trying to talk through, like, not a burp, just a weird little, Yeah, yeah. A little like, just getting it out of the way.
Starting point is 00:34:32 A little tension moment in the throat. Do you have sunglasses? Because we all wear sunglasses. It's part of what we do on stage where you notice you're like, why is, I'm using face muscles to keep the sunglasses where I want them. Do you have this? I got a pretty big face,
Starting point is 00:34:49 so all my sunglasses are hanging on for dear life. I know. They're on their pretty tight. You really fill them out. Yeah. I noticed nothing's falling off of me. The thing you're talking about, Jeff, I notice more with like the nose pad type glasses.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Okay. Whereas like the solid piece of plastic. Like an aviator has. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Those little tiny sort of clear thing. They're gripping on and you're sort of like using your sinus muscles to sort of like keep them propped up. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:14 And like you don't notice it first, but then you're out in the sun for now and you're like, why I have like a strange little faceache. Yeah. It's because I'm using subconsciously using little jiblet muscles to keep the sunglasses. And I got a thin bridge of the nose. If I had a, I got a bigger honker down. It's long, the honk. Oh.
Starting point is 00:35:32 But bulbous at the end, but tight up top. Tight bridge. High and tight. That's what I tell my rhinoplasty guy. High and tight. You get your barber and your rhinoplasty guy together, but both of you all want a high and tight. Ooh, I'm going for glass five. Oh, Jeff.
Starting point is 00:35:52 We have not talked about, folks, if you're not part of the Patreon, We're not signed up for the Birthday Boys Patreon, the blowout. The better episode every week. Sloppy Boys Patreon's birthday. Boy, you know it's the same guy. Sloppy Boys, baby. Sloppyboys.com. Go there for all your merch needs.
Starting point is 00:36:11 We got big, big shows coming up on the 29th of December, the 30th of December, and the 31st. Boston, Brooklyn, and Philly. Wow. Rockwell, Littlefield, Milk Boy. And Mike, I can't blame you for having birthday boys on the brain. those videos online are so good. It makes me wish that something new was coming out, but we don't know anything about that right now.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Not yet. We're still waiting for the money, the people with the purse strings to sort of loosen them up. Waiting for that Brinks truck to back up. Beep, beep, beep. All the birthday boys have been doing people like, oh, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:36:47 What's with the birthday boys? Well, it's like, yeah, all six of us are out looking for tipped over Brinks trucks. That's all we do all day to try to find that money. We have not found one in just yet. They keep those things so nice and tight. Hey, are you guys playing GTA 6. I'm sure you are.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Not yet. Is it out yet? No, but. I will. Here's the thing. Tim, you probably look at me like, Gamer boy over here is going to play the new GTA. Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:10 It's been in development for 10 years. Yeah. I think I'm not going to do it. I sense a lost moment. Say more. The TV show lost. I hate that, by the way. That is another community chess.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Say more. Say more. I don't like that. Say less. No, I feel like it's more say less is what people say. Oh, say more on that. Okay. Speak on that.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Speak on that. That's what they say. Speak on that. Speak on that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Speak more on GTA 5.
Starting point is 00:37:39 There is so much hype around this fucking thing. And I'm sure it's going to be great. A, I don't want to be buying a next gen system, a PS5. I'm on a PS4. You have a PS5. You should play. Yes. I will get it.
Starting point is 00:37:50 I sense the same excitement that I sensed around lost. The TV show, lost where everybody was just like, oh, I watch it so much and like, oh, it's so crazy. The mystery and where are they going to go? And then they watched five or six seasons of that thing. And when it ended, people were not impressed. And I said, I have hundreds of hours that you don't have. So I think I'm going to take my hundreds of hours from GTA6 and use it to learn a craft or invest in the community. Yeah, you know that's not going to happen. No, I'm going to use it. I'm going to use it to. But don't you think.
Starting point is 00:38:25 Master my skills. In what way would you help the community around here? Not the community. More personal skills. Not doing the community. What skills are you looking for? Making a chair out of wood. Damn.
Starting point is 00:38:36 That would be fun. A dream of mine. I don't think I would do it during the release of GTA 6, but that's something I want to do. In my life, I would cut and sand down. And they have a nice sit. Mid-century modern, beautiful chairs. What do you You know
Starting point is 00:38:57 You were going to say Mid-century modern I was just going to go Yeah yeah yeah But I really don't know what that means 600 bucks I know when I see it It's like pornography
Starting point is 00:39:05 But it's like a Like a one of those kind of Oh an Eames would be fucking awesome Eames is certainly part of it See that lamp in back of it Yeah that's mid-century Mid-century Mid-century meaning like madman era
Starting point is 00:39:16 A little flare Scandinavian A minimalist Clean Line But it's also like You know it's like You got a big wide ranch house this one floor and then you go in there and there's like
Starting point is 00:39:26 lots of like rounded stuff too you know you're like sitting on a round thing I had a friend growing up with a ranch type of house and it was so fun going over there and like running through the whole like running just down the whole house. Here's a Z chair Ah very nice. You know this like the Z chair Yes yes yes just like I would love to see
Starting point is 00:39:42 you make one of those I could I could If you make one you got to put your phone up and doing a fast motion so you hear like you just see Oh I got to turn my passion into content Jeff I'm doing it now This is my passion A television series has a harder time sticking the landing after a long time than a video game.
Starting point is 00:40:01 I don't think we're looking to GTA 6 to be like, oh, I hope the scene. What do you call those like cut scenes, not cut scenes, but they're like scenes. Yeah, cut scenes. Yeah. Those like you're not really, you don't need the story to be satisfying. The gameplay is going to be fun. It's going to be a fun game to play. Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:16 I'm sure it will. But there are these games that are like they take a hundred hours. Right. And I'm hoarding my hundred hours. So it takes 10,000 hours to get good at a craft. Yeah. And I can make a pretty good chair at 100 hours. Yeah, but you need 10,000 hours before that chair is sitable.
Starting point is 00:40:38 Before I could sit on it and rip a big fart and have it not wobble once. Blast apart. You know what's funny about GTA, if you go back, like, way back to like maybe the 90s, there's like GTA games that are, you know, from Nintendo. Top down. Yeah, yeah, even just like a lot of text and stuff. Oh, yeah. That's funny that it made it this far into just like...
Starting point is 00:40:59 Remember there was a game on a... Did you have a... Open Sandbox? Did you have a... Ti-83 calculators? Yeah, yeah, yeah. There was one... There was a game on there you could play called like drug war
Starting point is 00:41:07 or it's like... Yeah. You go to like different parts of town. You buy drugs, you sell drugs, you get shot at. On a graphing calculator? Yeah, and it was like mostly text base, weirdly. Yeah, I remember playing more like snake or something... Snake, hopefully Tetris.
Starting point is 00:41:20 Uh, yes, I did have Tetris on a Ti. Oh. Finished all my tests early. Kid at my school on like graduation day was like, hey, can I borrow your calculator? I swear I'll give it back to you after finals. I have to take my finals late and I gave it to him. And obviously I never got it back. Now, I never needed that graphing calculator again.
Starting point is 00:41:40 But it probably was like a hundred dollar calculation. You got to I have to come and you're like, well, I guess I won't major in any math stuff. But I was, I think I was suckered. He saw me as a sensitive carry. Oh, shit. I think I was. He didn't even have a test problem. I was singled out as a sensitive, caring man.
Starting point is 00:41:57 Let's take advantage of him that he said. That's sad. Sad as shit. This is why you shouldn't be a caring man. You should be like me. Yeah, give us one example. A guy who rocks. I suggest we put the franzia back in the fridge for now, just to get a little cooler.
Starting point is 00:42:24 Oh, sure. Freezer. Freezer. freezer. But now I wonder if we put in the freezer, it's going to tip and spill. I could use a break either way to eat my pizza. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:33 Folks, we'll take a little break to cool the Francia, eat the pizza, and when we come back, final thoughts. You got it. Frenzia is in hand. Fransy is in hand. Round two, uh, or final thoughts. We didn't put it back in the, uh, fridge, so we're drinking it hot. Drinkin it hot.
Starting point is 00:43:12 It's a hot red. It's a hot, rocks a wine. No, guys, we have a big. show this week, I was not trying to go for our usual lifestyle of opulence. What do you mean? I was trying to go in with a... Oh, hermitage outlook. Sobriety.
Starting point is 00:43:29 With discipline and gratitude. And grace. And grace. And how are you going into it now? I'm fucking drunk as a skunk of cheap wine. We still got a couple days till the show. I wouldn't worry. This is given me that there is something with red wine that I get, I, I,
Starting point is 00:43:47 Do I look red at all? Do I look blotchy? No. I'm feeling a little bit of start to it, but red wine is definitely one that gets me like. It's the tannins. It's the tannins. The tannins, let royal tannin bombs. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:44:05 It's a sleepy, cozy drink, Cabernet. I'll go into my final thoughts. I spilled on the couch. No, a cream-colored couch. Jeff spilled. Cabernet solving your franzas. I'll tell you what, there was a moment here where Jeff was away for the weekend. So I, since I'm here in L.A. and couch surfing, I said, you know what, Jeff, may I stay at your house?
Starting point is 00:44:27 He was nice enough to let me stay. I slept in his bed while he was away. And I'm looking at the couch and there's some stains in the couch. And I did get up at one point? I was like, oh, shit, did I make these stains? There's like a right under where you're sitting. There's like a big brown coffee stain. I was like, did I fart on this fucking thing? This couch sees a lot of use.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Well, it's tough, man, with a light couch, but it's a nice couch. I need to get a carpet cleaner, a bissel green bullet or whatever they call it. Yeah. You know what I like? I'll be online Instagram and I'll be, it'll be doomscrolling. You go online?
Starting point is 00:45:01 Yeah, I log on at doom scroll. You doomscrolling? Yeah. Every night. Every night I find myself doomscrolling. But it'll be like those like, I always see videos. I was kind of doing this just a second ago where someone's like building a cabin out in the woods
Starting point is 00:45:15 with just like whatever they find. But it's in fast motion. everything's like, it's like, I just hate that sound. Anyway, I've seen. This is such a niche genre of videos. The idea I'm like, oh, don't you guys hate that sound? Yeah, hate that sound? I've never heard that sound.
Starting point is 00:45:33 But I do come across ones where it's like people finding like an old stuffed animal in a dump or like a rug or something and really doing the cleaning. Oh, yeah. I find that stuff to be quite satisfying. They call it oddly satisfying. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like deep cleans or restorations or something where you go, yeah, you look at the before and after. You put a little love into something. You bring it back to life.
Starting point is 00:45:54 It's not always about throwing it away. No. It's about spending $100 of chemicals to get this disgusting stupid toy back out of the dump. I don't watch any of that and it doesn't sound satisfying. But I feel like also, Mike, you watch Pimple Popper, P.D. I like pimple pop stuff. Police department. I like the purple.
Starting point is 00:46:15 Peele Popper, PD, police department. The pimple pop or doctor puts a little micromic police car on your body and drives around looking for bad ingrown air. You know, like I had heard that it's like, if you watch pimple pop, it's like a thing like ASMR, some people find it satisfying. I watched it. It's just, it's not greater than the sum of its parts. It's just the parts. Well, what do you mean? I watch a pimple get popped.
Starting point is 00:46:38 The pus comes out. It does nothing for me. I guess it's like it takes so long. You don't get like a, ooh, that must be hurt. Now it's frustrating. And boom, it's fixed. No. It's like it's a laborious process of like scooping out fucking gross white muck.
Starting point is 00:46:54 Yeah. And then they stitch them up or whatever. And then you're like, oh yeah. You got to get that pus sack out. Yeah, you got to get the sack. Oh, this sucks. Yeah. But it takes so long that it's not just like tension, release.
Starting point is 00:47:09 Tension release. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's laborious. It can be unless you got to somebody put up some good shit. You're watching this one that slow shit. But I do get in theory the sort of animal sense of accomplishment or... Yeah, I don't know what it is. Closure.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Yeah. And then you'll see some of these fuckers who are, oh, we're going to get this ingrown hair. We're going to get it. Video ends. Hair not out. Yeah, that's clip. What fuck am I doing? I don't like on TikTok, you'll be on something.
Starting point is 00:47:39 You fell for it. I'll fight for a lot of things online. I got some Russian brides showing up tomorrow at Tim's house. I don't like when, I forget what I like, but it's online. You said Russian Bride. Reminds me of Russia.
Starting point is 00:47:55 Reminds me. I watched Golden Eye the other day. Golden Eye. Oh, yeah. I liked your... But tell us about the music. You've played Golden Eye the video game. Certainly.
Starting point is 00:48:07 Yes, I've achieved top status. One of the best... Top status. I've achieved top status. In that game. One of the best video game soundtracks and it had to be because folks, the score for that movie sucks.
Starting point is 00:48:21 It's so bad. It's the most holdover 80s dinky little score to see Pierce Brosnan rolling around to see Fomka Jansen squeezing them in her thighs and the score is like tic-dum-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-tall.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Such a bad score. Good movie though. They should have me do the music for that movie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, let me tell you about this dude named Bond. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:49 He's got it going on. We've got it going on. His girlfriend wants to squish him with the legs. 007. He's living in heaven. The name's Bond. James Bond. Hey.
Starting point is 00:49:00 The name's bon. James Vaughn. Yeah. Shake a nuts, dude. You're a little fucking dude. Wait, who are you talking to, the audience? He says stuff like people. Shaking not a turd, you little fucking turn.
Starting point is 00:49:12 Yeah. James Bond, James Bond. Yeah. It's Bond James Bond. You better watch out. Because Bondle's going to get you. Bon's going to get you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:24 I started to talk about my final thoughts. I'll continue. Okay. I'm so, I'm so stained by this false recording that we had. I'm going to try. Don't let that, yeah, that's going to be tough. I'm going to try and think of it as,
Starting point is 00:49:42 yeah, you could think of it as Jeff fucked this episode up. You could also think of it as that yet. That's my choice. Yeah, I'm going to think about it. I don't see any other way to think of it. You could also think of it as Jeff didn't fuck up 3010 episodes. Yes, right.
Starting point is 00:49:58 Wow. You're right. And then also the right. So next episode is 311. Episode. Original. Maybe on the blowout, we do a little... Yeah, let's do it.
Starting point is 00:50:07 So whenever we're on tour, if we stay at a hotel and they give us room 311, we call it the Come Original Suite. Which has happened a couple times. It sounds like a unique thing. It's so rewarding to get to a... tell you like, I check in and you guys are like, Tim, what's the room number? And I just say, it's the come original suite.
Starting point is 00:50:22 And then we get like, 312. It's like, oh, we got come original dad's suite. There was another one. It wasn't, it wasn't 182 because, but it was, there was, there was another funny number, but it makes sense. 311 is such a getable number. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because 182, that means there's one floor, but 82 rooms. That's not going to happen.
Starting point is 00:50:41 It never goes up. There's never even like 20. It never even hits 20. But 311, absolutely, there's three floors. and then, you know, an 11th room. And they know not to put us in the 420 room. No, no. They know.
Starting point is 00:50:53 Or the 69 room. This is an okay drink. It's great. Do it with your friends. Slap the bladder. Even if you're not Russian Greek this year. They said Russian Greek. Even if you're not on the quad.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Dude, if I saw a frosh right now, I would fucking haze his ass. Do you think we're in a weird position because we're in this sort of arrested development of like, We live in L.A. and everybody is in apartments and stuff. If you brought Franzya to a party, I think it would be welcomed here. Do you think if you're in your 30s or even over the crest of 40 in the rest of the nation? If you brought franzia to a party, would people kind of mock you or look down on it? I disagree about the L.A. thing. I think that if you bought a box of Fransia to an L.A. party, it would remain unopened.
Starting point is 00:51:41 You think so? It would have to be a group of people who like, this is Bouchy town. You don't want to do a goofy thing. But you don't think people would escort you out. No, but I don't think that people want to drink it. And I also don't think they have the fratboy energy to know that it's bad, but drink it anyway. I think they would be like, I would have preferred if you got natural wine from the cool wine shop. Well, I didn't.
Starting point is 00:52:01 So drink this. Yeah, Tim, you're probably right. And I need the bathroom. Where is it? So who's this for? Just frat kids? No, I don't think so. College people in their 20s.
Starting point is 00:52:13 But I think Franzy is trying to make a. or there is like people are buying this more who aren't just frat kids. Yeah. I don't think. But I do think it's people in their 20s or like. It's very possible now that I think about it, I do think maybe this very box of wine is what we served at my dad's pizzeria in the 90s. Hey.
Starting point is 00:52:35 Who. Mike, it's sort of a when in Rome for me. And that, what do we call that? When in Rome. Appointment. Appointment. It's your Roman Empire. But in this case, the appointment is having a podcast with two of your friends.
Starting point is 00:52:52 I like to on the box here. I'm seeing there's got a QR code and it's got a friends with benefits. So I think it's where you rack up your points, your friends. They're trying to be Gen Z about that. Yeah. They're not trying to sell that to like well-to-do 40-year-olds. That's true. My take on this one is this.
Starting point is 00:53:11 Because you always hear of box wine as a joke, a cheap little thing. thing. This is, to me, tastes just like wine. You know what I mean? So this is going to be, it is. It is wine. And it's not like those box, beatbox wines or the franzia fuel that we had. This is an Oregon for me. And Tim, your thoughts? I get what you guys are saying, but I would say for me personally, the honeymoon period wore off. And I think my first glass, I was like, this is not as bad as I was expecting. But I am a guy who lives life to its fullest. I don't have one glass of wine. I have six glasses of wine. He's a Dianian fellow. Yes. On the way here, he was riding a little donkey and he had splashing cups of grapey wine wearing a toga. I felt the
Starting point is 00:54:03 deeper we got into this wine, the more I could tell. I mean, like, well, it got warm. It did get warm. Well, it got one. But you should be able to drink, drink wine warm. Red wine is cavernace-soil. It's not even the chilled red. So I would say like, I do feel that sugary syruppiness I was afraid of started to show itself in deeper into the glasses of wine. So but so much so much of that I'm sorry to say is because of Duddy's blunder. Duddy's blunder, but well I was like I don't know about you guys. I came here tonight with the intention of the three of us finishing this box of wine. So Duddy's blunder, if anything, gave us a better opportunity to finish this box of wine. And so relying.
Starting point is 00:54:47 I don't even know if we got to the halfway point. Do you think we even got halfway? Not even close. No, man. This is, I'm shocked how much can fit in this little box. I'm ready to sleep for about 48 hours after having five glasses of this. And so I do think I'm probably not an order again, but I am an appointment only, which is like, hey, I'm, I'm on a camping trip.
Starting point is 00:55:11 Yes, or you're drilling or steak. Yeah. I would have one glass. I would always have one glass. Don't have five glasses of franzia. You don't need it. You don't need it. That's our show.

Starting point is 00:56:05 People are chatting with each other There are people who have met each other and formed romantic relationships. And, and quite frankly, best friendships. They call each other for best friends. They, like, people are doing. They call each other besties. Hey, besties.
Starting point is 00:56:18 People are doing, hey, bestie, maybe it'll become my bay. They're doing secret Santas. They're meeting up at towns that are not their own to see sloppy boy shows. It's a grooveman out there. If you don't want to do that, you don't have to. You can just hang on the sidelines and watch like a pervert.
Starting point is 00:56:34 But the reason to do it is, let's say you like our music. like the podcast, but you're like, I don't have a friend or a significant other to reflect that. I don't fit in. There's a whole online community. Then next thing you know, you're in Philly on the New Year's Eve, having the time of your life. Should all acquaintance? You're dancing. And Padley can go, go, go, God, God, ride, by the. It's all that Iowa corn eats. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he sure does eat a lot of that. Folks.

Starting point is 00:58:00 You're happy now, Jeff. You got us drunk and now we're angry. Wait, Jeff. I got a question. This is a real. kind of cool behind the scenes question. At the end of the episode
