It's got confetti mixed in it.
It's like,
it's like,
Nickelodeon Gack.
Remember?
Oh, that's not what I was going for at all.
Oh, I was,
yeah, I was going for like, it's very,
kind of like that's sticky.
That's what regular semen is.
No, but you can't stretch it, you know.
Is this the opening?
I hope to God it's not.
I mean, we might as well.
Hi, everybody.
Welcome to the Smart Avengers.
Name is Corey.
With me is Dylan and the returning John.
John was living in America
for a hot minute there.
How'd it go?
I mean, I had a few drinks.
I saw a few sites.
Can't complain.
There you go.
No, Klein.
Not a single clown.
You watched a lot of soccer, though, I imagine.
Yes, we did.
We only went to two games in person, but we still managed to squeeze in.
Most of the rest of them on TV.
in various bars.
There you go.
John is back from America.
John is also a bit jet lagged.
So we thought we'd make things pretty easy
and maybe not require a whole bunch of critical thinking skills.
And a couple, about a week or so ago,
I had the free time to make the Wheel of Redemption
because we wrapped up all of our regular Avenger auctions.
Now we just have the big one.
Yeah.
So I will tell you guys right now,
there are 41 names on this.
on this wheel. It's the biggest wheel we've had to date.
Okay.
So I want to get a ground rule, I guess,
or I got to get the order of operations figured out before we start.
So traditionally, we've had about 25 names on the list,
and we spin it 20 times, leaving five behind.
So are we going to spin this wheel 41 times,
or do you want to cap this off and make it a little more random
and not guarantee that all the big names are going to get paid?
I think I'd be pretty disappointed if, say, you know, Spider-Man doesn't get picked at all
or journal of this.
Well, okay, what of the caveat is, if Spider-Man does get picked, we're like, well,
once we hit 20 and Spider-Man's off the board, fuck it.
Is that the rule?
Right, because I have a feeling Spider-Man's the one we all want.
I mean, Ireland's on there, Hulk's on there, there's a lot of big names.
I don't want
I don't know
I'm happy to go and do the whole lot
but it depends how long we all want to stay up
and do this for
yeah it's 41 spins
or 40 spins
because why would we spin it
if there's only one name on there
we spin it anyway
just again
you never know
yeah like I said
I don't mind either way
it depends how everybody else feels
I'm happy to
I you know
if you want to cap it at like whatever
so like
Like, say we capitol at like 25 or 30.
Yeah.
The cap.
Spider-Man hasn't been picked.
Keep going.
Until, like, and we keep going until Spider-Man gets picked.
And then...
Spider-Man's a sudden death.
Okay.
Yeah, Spider-Man has like that.
We got to keep going until we get Spider-Man.
Okay.
Watch him come out as number one now.
Yeah, then we don't have to worry about it.
A capitol number two, then.
You can say we can say we cap it at like, what, 30 or 35 or something like that?
I would say 30, 35.
Yeah.
You got 30?
is there's because
10 more than normal
if established there are some real happy hitters in this
but also even though last episode
we did a really good job of
dragging the Nats along the bottom of the ocean
there's still going to be some losers
in this as well oh boy night mask
is on here star brand is on
here doctor you know
oh there's two star brands yeah so
so
John before we get started
can you give us an idea how much money we're
rolling with because I imagine this will be, this is our last Avengers auction, so this is
like spend your money or it's gone forever kind of deal. Yes. So if my maths is correct,
I believe Dylan has the most money left to spend with 231 pounds. Corey, you're not far behind
with 226 pounds left to spend. And I have,
134 pounds.
That's rough. That's a whole $100
difference between you and Dylan.
Yeah. I don't think
I'm going to be getting anyone I want
in this auction.
You might, if you don't want Spider-Man.
Dylan might just drop 100 on Spider-Man
just to start it.
Yeah.
Who knows? Who knows? I hope he does.
I wouldn't be that kind of guy, would I?
Mm-hmm.
Who would do that?
All right, that being said, let's go ahead and jump over to this wheel.
Same rules as always.
We spin the wheel.
Whatever it lands on, we start the bidding, and we just kind of go from there.
We're going to 30, maybe more if Spider-Man's not picked.
All right.
So, as you can see, we have 41 names on this damn thing.
And the slices are very thin, meaning that, you know, it could really go any direction, honestly.
So Dylan, how many times would you like to, you know, randomize the order?
41 times.
I would prefer not to do that because every how laggy it's been on my end.
Five times.
I could probably do five.
Well, let's see how that works.
All right, we go one, two.
Boy, it doesn't like one.
Oh, boy.
Four.
it's getting warmed up
five
probably enough is it
I'd say that's enough
yeah
our friend weird face kit up front and center
as always
oh boy
30 spins
or until Spider-Man
gets selected
whatever happens first
well no
if Spider-Man gets selected first
we still go to 30
oh okay either were
it's just that if we get the 30
and Spider-Man has been picked
we keep going until we get Spider-Man
all right well our very first spin we have
the Incredible Hulk
that's a big name right up the game
uh oh
so the Hulk joined the Avengers and Avengers
number one in September of 1963
uh we all know the Hulk's deal
no real reason to jump into that whole business
but yeah gamma radiation
angry he gets stronger he gets
and then a whole bunch of weird stuff and
whatever the hell's going on in infernal Hulk
uh that being said
we're starting the bidding at one
pound for the Hulk?
I'm going to go five.
Oh, come on.
For the Hulk?
Yeah, but this, I can see where this is going already.
You think five is unreasonable for the Hulk?
I think I'm getting outbid on everything.
Well, I also, you know, Dylan gets real conservative once it gets into the double digits,
just so you know.
Yeah, but he's got 231 pounds to spend.
I mean...
You don't see my money for something particular.
And we know, having me negotiated it, that he's definitely coming up.
Okay.
You'll get the Hulk.
I'll go six for Hulk.
Okay.
I'll go seven.
Well, I should do eight.
Nine.
Well, I'm going to be ten if Corey's are going to do ten.
No, I'm good.
It's the Hulk.
Yeah.
I mean, I already do have the Red Hulk.
And Corey has a Sheehawk.
There you go.
Okay, I'll let you have it for 10.
All right.
Okay.
10 pounds to Dillon, the Incredible Hulk.
I guess that's a steal.
Honestly, a bit, yeah.
All have a Hulk.
Cute.
Is it going to make a noise?
No, I guess not.
This is Ghost.
There it is.
But we have Ghost Rider
Robbie Reyes.
This version of the
Ghost Rider joined the Avengers
in
when did he join?
Who cares?
No,
it has to fit the gimmick.
This was the problem
that I knew I was going to get into
when we had so many names on the list.
I was like,
I'm going to lose.
track of some of these people real quick.
I'm going to guess 2014.
2014 is your bad, okay.
Fair, guys.
When did this character debut?
He was in the Agents of Shield, so...
It was 70, 2010s.
Yeah.
He struck the rocket to him real quick.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, okay.
He joined...
So your guess was 2014?
Yeah.
Robbie Reyes joined the Avengers
in Avengers Volume 8 issue number six in July.
live 2018.
So off by four years.
But not bad.
This is the only ghost writer that's ever been an Avenger, by the way.
Oh, okay.
So he is the only ghost writer that has ever been an Avenger.
He has a Mustang.
And yep.
And they've kind of,
they've kind of stopped using him as much as they were for a while.
And I've gone back to using Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch and the guy who's
vengeance.
The other one.
the other one.
Miguel or something?
Anyway, not sure how you guys are in your 90s ghostwriter knowledge, but there you go.
So let's start the bidding at one pound for Ghost Rider.
Of course, you know, he is possessed by a demon.
So he's got the pennant stare.
He's proficient hand-to-hand combatant, highly experienced driver,
severe conditioning, enhanced senses, fury empowerment.
He's an immunity to fire.
He, of course, has a demonic transformation.
regeneration,
immortality,
pyrochinesis,
he's a medium,
he can teleport,
and create portals.
He has the
enchanted Dodge Charger
and the Hellfire chain
as items.
He's immune to magic.
He can manipulate his size,
his soul.
He could duplicate himself.
He can manipulate sin.
He can manipulate hellfire.
He can manipulate demonic magic.
He has knowledge of the occult,
supernatural awareness,
and vulnerability,
and can resurrect himself.
The various powers of
Robbie Reyes.
Sounds like a lot.
It is a lot.
So let's start off at one pound for Robbie Reyes.
I feel like one pound's a good
good star out.
I'll do one pine.
I'll go two.
I'll go two.
Do you want to three, John?
I'll do three then, I guess.
Okay.
I'll go four?
Yeah, five.
He's our only ghost rider.
I don't know how much I want ghostwriter.
I'll go six.
Six once.
Six twice.
I really thought you were going to
again.
Six to point.
Uh-oh.
Two spins of the wheel, and Dylan has
come out the victor twice.
Oh, no.
You guys are playing me.
He still got loads of money
left.
I see this.
All right.
Our next spin of the wheel.
Here we go.
This is the name we all know in love.
By the way, the sound effects
have stopped working.
No, it's.
Just are delayed, right?
Yep.
There's a very abrupt applause there.
But yes, this is, of course, Justice, aka Vance Astrovic.
You debuted for the Avengers and Avengers Volume 3,
issue number 7 in August of 1998.
Justice, of course, was more well known as a member of the new Warriors for a time being.
He is telekinetic, and he could fly.
That is his deal.
We'll start the bidding at one pound for Justice.
And I'll take one pound on him.
you might have them
yeah I would say so
all right we'll go ahead and take justice off the board then
since we're spinning 30 times
we might as well move through stuff
rather quickly I'll take him
I like the new warriors
oh you got him
he's all yours
all right up next
our third spin
hey the drum's back
he's a different
I already have Captain Britain
we have Captain Britain
but not the one that you guys
are familiar with. This is Kelsey
Shore Lee, who debuted
for the Avengers in Avengers Volume 3,
issue number 81 in April of
2004.
She has superhuman physical attributes,
flight, the sword of might, which grants
her force field generation and energy bolts.
She is also referred to
as Lionheart at times.
So as two members
of the United Kingdom, I'm sure you feel
a level of patriotism,
looking at this version of Captain Britain.
She's only called a lot of
She's in Japan.
All right.
Fair enough.
All right.
Well,
all right, whatever.
Start the bidding of one pound for Captain Britain.
I'll take it.
You might have it.
Sold.
Visei, no love, no love for your hometown heroes.
I already have Captain Britain.
Good one.
You have the Brian Braddock?
Yeah.
Ah, there you go.
I don't know who she is.
that's what I love about
Cat in Britain and the British heroes
you guys
they didn't really do a super hot job of getting them
over there to you guys
yeah like even the right
or making them care about you
we couldn't give a fuck
you know
all right well there's spin number five
oh boy
that scream feels appropriate
it's living lightning
uh living lightning
a.k.a.
Oh, I know he's not in the 2020s.
Couldn't be in the 2020s.
Let's make up a name for him. No one's going to know.
Carl Dinkins.
No, I think he was involved in that Kang.
Yes.
That we read.
Living Lightning, aka Miguel Santos,
debuted for the Avengers in West Coast Avengers number 74
in September of 1991.
Of course, he has the ability to,
manipulate electricity.
He could fly at sublight speeds
and is a skilled street fighter.
So let's start the bidding at one pound
for living lightning.
One pound for Corey,
it sounds like.
Yep.
All right, then.
We'll go ahead and remove
a living lightning from the board.
I think I have the most people on my team
and I've spent the least amount of money.
You're really going to pick up the stragglers.
You're like, you're,
You, it's like you go into like a charity shock.
Yeah, I just get the potter.
Yeah, whatever you got.
Put in my basket, man.
All right.
Here's spin number six.
You once again lost sound.
But hey, we talked about it earlier.
This is our opportunity.
It's Mr. Fantastic.
Okay.
So Mr. Fantastic
joined the Avengers officially in Avengers issue number 300 in February of 1989.
the same issue that Invisible Woman joined the team and Gilgamesh.
So, of course, we know Mr. Fantastic's ability,
he's probably the smartest man in the MCU.
He has the ability to manipulate his body in very gross ways.
And yeah, there you go.
Let's start the bidding at one pound for Mr. Fantastic.
I'll go one.
I'll take two.
I'll go three.
I am going to go five.
I will go seven.
I will go
eight.
I'll go nine.
Oh, we're getting closer to double digits here.
He's so he's smart, though, when he can stretch and stuff,
so that could be useful.
Do I have a stretchy guy on my team already?
I don't think any of us do.
You have two, you have two,
storm, right?
Yes.
So it makes sense to keep
them together, wouldn't it?
Oh, that was my thinking.
Yeah, you know what?
I like that plan. I think that's fair.
Well, were you at nine?
Yes.
Yes.
I'm happy with that.
Cool. I'll take him for nine then.
All right, John, you're on the board.
So Mr. Fantastic is officially off the board.
The Fantastic War has been drafted its entirety.
John is one person,
and I would argue that his one person is
Of higher stature than all three of course people combined.
That seems likely.
Yeah.
All right.
So our seventh spin is up next.
The wheel really does not like having 41 options, is what I've learned.
Especially when these are some of the options.
Photon.
Ori, just let you know you're obliged to get another member of your team.
Hey, you never know that for sure.
So Photon joined the Avengers.
in Avengers number 231 in May of 1983.
Of course, she is a former Captain Marvel.
She was also called Spectrum for a bit.
This is Monica Rambo.
Monica has the ability to convert
into any form of energy within the electromagnetic spectrum
and travel and energy form through the vacuum of space.
She can absorb energy, generate energy, and manipulate energy.
She has ability to fly at the speed of light.
She can alter her size.
She can make herself intangible.
And, of course, she can fly.
That being said, let's start the bidding at one pound for photon.
I'll go one pound.
I'll go two.
She's a former Captain Marvel.
Got to show her some respect.
Yeah, you can have her.
That sounds like all the respect she's going to get.
Oh, he meets double your usual price.
Yeah.
All right.
So spin number eight.
Oh, boy, the hits just keep on coming for old.
Hey, it's Starbrand.
Kevin.
Kevin.
It's the Kevin Starbrand.
Kevin.
Kevin.
So this version of Starbrand joined the Avengers in Hickman's run,
officially joining in Avengers Volume 5, number 17, in August of 2013.
As Starbrand, he has the ability to do stuff with light and energy.
And what I learned is all of this is that.
the, all of the star brands end up killing themselves.
So the star brand power does not seem to be very, uh, stable.
Cool.
So we'll go ahead and just start the bidding of one pound for Starbrand and I'll take that.
Yeah, far away.
All right.
There you go.
There you go.
Star brand is off the board.
Spin number nine though coming up.
You really sold it with your selling everybody that they usually kill themselves.
They usually kill themselves.
Oh, all right, well, hey, you can't have one without the other.
That sounds about right.
So this is Night Mask, aka Adam Blackvale.
He joined in the same issue of Star Brand in Avengers Line 5, issue number 17, August 2013.
His powers involve like darkness and night.
and I don't want to go too much further into it
because I know I'm only getting him for one pound.
So let's go ahead and do one pound for Corey.
And it sounds like no one's contesting that.
I will point out something very interesting.
In that issue number 17 of Hickman's Avengers,
I have drafted all of four people who join the Avengers.
So it was Star Brand, Nightmask, Ex-Naheloh, and Abyss.
Well, congratulations.
I have completed...
I'll be for four pounds as well.
Yeah, for four pounds.
Completed the sweep.
Mm-hmm.
All right, this is our 10th spin.
We'll go ahead and do a quick recap after this.
Wait, Daredevil's on this list?
Yes.
Didn't I already dropped it?
You know, this is the-
You have Electra.
It's Electra.
Hey.
Oh.
Well, that felt appropriate.
Hey, okay.
All right, well, our 10th spin of the wheel
gets us an Iron Man,
aka Tony Stark, who had joined the Avengers
and Avengers number one in September of 1963.
super genius, super great inventor,
all around cool guy, extraordinary.
It's Iron Man.
I will start the bidding at one pound.
I'll take that.
I go three pound.
Oh, big spencer.
I mean, for Iron Man, I'd go five pines.
I'll go seven.
Oh.
Go nine.
Would you guys put a city before your bed,
per chance?
I'm going to go with 11 before we start getting in the cities, though.
Well, it was the Cincinnati 13, wasn't it?
Yeah.
Well, I'm going to go without Cincinnati 13.
Yeah.
I will go for a Sacramento 15.
I think it was Sacramento 15, wasn't it?
Well, that's still a moment.
We definitely did Sacramento before, and I don't know why the one keeps coming up.
What is the capital of California?
Is it?
It is.
It's not Los Angeles.
Not Los Angeles, not San Francisco, not even Oakland.
It's Sacramento.
What the fuck?
Yep.
A little state knowledge for those outside of the United States, or maybe, you know, within the United States if you got a poor public education.
I had no idea.
No idea.
All right, but we're sitting in 15 for Iron Man here.
Oh, man.
I mean, it's Iron Man, you know.
Oh, man.
15.
War machines on there, too, though.
So I can get a war machine for the cheap.
All right.
It's 15 once, twice.
John, I get an Iron Man for 15.
I'm happy with that.
Not bad.
Good deal.
All right.
So that's been 10 spins of the wheel.
Let's do a quick little check-in.
Dylan, would you like to run down who is on everyone's teams?
Yes.
I mean, looking at this on paper, John's probably got the best team
because he is Mr. Fantastic and Iron Man.
It's pretty good.
That's pretty good.
I have the Hulk and Ghost Rider,
which doesn't sound great on paper
until you hear what the third team is going to be,
in which case you might say that I have the second best team.
I think Corey has
Justice, the girl Captain Britain,
whose name I couldn't remember,
Living Lightning,
Photon, Star Brand, and Nighthawk,
Night Mask, sorry, Night Mask, thank you.
Not Nighthawk.
That's somebody else's.
I was on the last auction.
We've already done Nighthawk.
We've already done Night and Matt.
That's a wonderful team of cool characters.
That's fodder.
We just put that in front of the big bad and just let him have his way.
All right.
And John, I'd like to recap how much money we have left.
So, Corey, you still have
$219 left to spend.
Dylan has £215.15 pounds left to spend.
and I have
110 pounds
Okay
Well we got
We'll do another 10 spins
And then come back and check in
And see where we are
And see how the well
The wheel has treated us since then
But this is spin number 11 coming up
Oh so close
Howdy
Oh so close
Spin number 11 brings us to Quasar
Quasar
A.k.k.a Wendle Vaughan
join the Avengers
and Avengers
number 305 in
1989.
Wendell
is the longest running
quasar
though I believe
the current is
Phila Vale
and yeah
let me see
what does his abilities
are
something to do with space
yeah
I know he has
like magic bracelets
ah
well
congratulations to him
yeah let me take your quick little view there
quantum bands fused to his wrist that allow him to manipulate energy
create solid light constructs and fly through space
so there you go
we'll start to bidding at this point
because originally when we started doing this you're like
well we got to cover your bases so you need a guy in your team that can do this
so then we were like well we need a guy that can fly we need a guy that's really smart
We need a big bruiser.
You need whatever.
I think by this point, we have like a billion people that can fly through space.
I think most of them are on my team as well.
Justice flight through space.
I know you can fly.
I don't know if you can fly through space.
I know I think later on he becomes a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, like the original lineup.
Okay.
Anyway, though, we have our bidding starting at one pound for Wendell Vaughn, aka Quasar, which I will take.
Yeah, you got him.
All right, fair enough.
Yep.
Congratulations, Corey.
Thank you.
All right, here is spin number 12.
It's Quasar again.
She's so nice.
She's on here twice.
It's the Wasp, but it's not Janet Van Dine.
This is Nadia Pym, if I believe, is her name.
Nadia Van Dine, birth surname originally Pym.
So, yes, she can fly via Bios.
synthetic wings, shoot bioelectric energy blast,
meteor's size, she's an expert gymnast and acrobat,
expert martial artist, and genius level intellect.
She is the daughter of Hank and Maria Pemm,
who was Hank Pem's first wife who was assassinated.
So there you go.
She's, you know, she also inherited her father's mental illness and is bipolar.
Cool.
Yeah.
So she joined the Avengers in Avengers Volume 7,
issue number one in November of 2016.
So definitely one of the newer characters
within the last 10 years.
That being said, let's start the bidding at
one pound for Nadia Van Dine.
I'm going to take a one.
Oh, well, I'll take over two.
Oh, okay.
Two once.
Oh, perfect.
Twice. All right, sold to Dillon for two.
My plan was to get at least one wasp
on the cheap. And that was exactly
what I got.
It worked out pretty well for you.
All right, here's spin number 13
Lucky 13
That's right on the line
But it is Prince Namor
Namor the Submariner
When did he officially join the Avengers
I feel like he was definitely someone
A little more recent than not
But I could be wrong
I appear to have been wrong
Let's see
We're still going backwards
Namor the same mariner
A.k.k.a. Namor McKenzie
join the Avengers in Avengers number 262 in December of 1985.
He is the king of Atlantis.
He can breathe underwater.
He can swim really, really fast.
He has human strength, speed, durability, agility, senses, and reflexes.
He has a level of marine life, empathy, telepathy, and control.
He is resistant to extreme temperatures.
He can fly thanks to the wings on his ankles.
He has extended longevity, meaning that he can live longer than most people.
And it looks like he has the ability to command water
and locate things to echo location.
So let's start the bidding for Prince Namor
or the Submariner at one pound.
I'll take one.
I'll go two.
I'll go three.
Well, I'm going to go five.
Oh, geez.
I'll go six.
I'll go seven.
I'm going to go eight.
I'll go nine.
Corey's coffee.
It's like in an auction whenever you like, you rub your nose.
Oh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So is it a dog?
If my hand's bloody afterwards,
does that like mean I doubled the price?
Yes.
All right, fair.
Yeah.
So bad news for you of both occasions.
Yeah, right.
So John is at nine currently, I believe.
Yes.
So nine once.
Here's a thing.
Yes.
I really like the idea of John.
having
Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic, and Namor.
Like, the stories are right there.
Stories are now?
Yeah, I think that's fair.
Nine twice.
All right, nine to John for Prince Neymour.
Again, his team's like a pretty strong.
I've got to say.
That's a good team.
You know?
I can't afford to spend money on the dregs.
That's my life.
All right. Number 14, we have
Firestar. Firestar joined the Avengers
officially when
she probably was a 90s character, I want to say, yep.
Angelica Jones joined the Avengers
and Avengers Volume 3, issue number 7 in August of 1998.
She has been an ex-man,
she's been an Avenger. She's technically a mutant.
with the ability to
nuclear fission manipulation.
That sounds intense.
But yes, basically microwave energy,
generation,
electromagnetic signature detection,
psionic disruption, heat emission, and flight.
So we'll start the bidding at one pound for Firestar.
How much room do you have in your Avengers Tower?
I mean, I don't have a event,
I don't have an infinity city or whatever it was called.
Yeah, I have plenty room,
but I'm worried about you
and all of the horrible people
you have to find room for.
No, they're all getting killed off
in the first love, like first mission.
This is like suicide squad level going on right now.
I feel like fire star is better
than some of those guys.
She was one of Spider-Man's amazing friends.
Exactly.
You should bid on her then, Dylan.
Well, I already have Sunspot and Sunfire.
I have firebird and two human torches.
Well, then somebody else had bit on her.
Okay, I'll bid one pound then.
looks like you good yourself
a lady firework
there you go yeah john
you got fire star for one pound
I feel like that's a steal
I feel like we disrespect
the fire star a little bit too much
this then
why
all right
the spin number 15
flying through this man
and it is
Miss Marvel
aka Kamala Khan
boy the powers are going to be
complicated to read on this one
I feel
so she was an inhuman
then she's a
a mutant. She might still be an inhuman, but
predominantly associating herself
with the X characters these days.
Kamala Khan joined the
Avengers.
I feel like she was a recent add-on
to.
1978.
What is that? 2018.
Oh, well.
Mm-hmm.
2015.
So Kamala Khan joined an all-new, all-different
Avengers number one in November of 2015.
she was on the same team
that added Spider-Man, Miles Morales,
and Jane Foster's Thor.
So yes, she has had a couple of different powers.
So she has morphogenetics,
basically meaning that she can be stretchy,
surrehuman elasticity, plasticity, and malability,
appearance and size alteration.
She has a regenerative healing factor.
She's bioluminescence,
shape-shifting, heart light generation,
and portal creation,
time and dimensional travel.
She's very busy.
They give her a lot of stuff
to keep her on the front lines.
He is.
Are you betting?
Well, yeah, I'd be ready to start the bidding of one pound.
I'll take a pine.
I'll go two.
Is Corey not interested?
Not really.
Cool.
It's just me and John again.
I'm going to go three.
You know what?
I've already got a stretchy person in Mr. Fantastic.
Yeah.
So, yeah, you can have a for three.
Thank you very much.
much.
All right.
Three pounds for Miss Marvel.
Not bad, man.
All right, here's spin number 16.
Oh, so close again.
And it's Dr. Druid.
Dr. Druid joined the Avengers way back when in, I want to say it was the 1980s.
Yes.
You want to say that.
Anthony Ludgate Druid, last name Druid.
Kind of weird how that worked out like Strange.
And he looks kind of like a bald, Dr. Strange.
Anyway, he joined in Avengers number 278 in April of 1987.
Dr. Druid has limited telepathy, limited telekinesis, hypnosis, magic detection, mystic manipulation, and is a scholar of magic.
He also very famously was manipulated into turning against the Avengers while serving as their leader for a very brief period of time.
Famously, yeah.
He was the Avengers leader?
the hell.
Yeah,
there's a
well,
he sort of
assumed
leadership.
The rest of
the team was like
Black Knight
and Crystal
and Shehulk and stuff.
Huh.
Okay.
So we'll start
the bidding
at one pound
for Dr. Druid
which I will take.
Well,
you were super confident
with that one.
Yeah.
End the bidding
at one pound as well.
Yep.
We'll end the bidding.
The bell rang
and then the bell rang.
It's like you were
super confident,
but also I had no
intention of
even trying
I had a feeling no one was.
Just moving it forward to spin number 16
or spin number 17.
Well, Dylan, you might be out of the race on this one.
Why?
Because.
Oh, I already got one.
It's our first wasp,
aka Janet Van Dine in Avengers number one,
September of 1963.
Of course, this version of the wasp
had served as the cheerperson for many years,
but you could fly via biosynthetic wings,
bio-electronic energy blast,
telepathic insect control,
and size manipulation.
So, I will start the bidding at one pound for the original wasp, Janet Van Dine.
Go two.
Three.
I'll go four.
Five.
Six.
Six once, twice.
Oh.
Sold to John for six.
Nice.
Again, not a bad pickup.
Don't get some good deals today, I got to say.
I'm happy with it
Hey the sound came back
All right
This spin number 18
Oh
And it is the younger brother of Cyclops
Havoc, A.k.a. Alex Summers
Havocke joined the Avengers
In Uncanny Avengers number one
In October of 2012.
So Havoc is a mutant
Who has the mutant ability of
absorbing cosmic energy
and blasting out plasma beams
So
That being said, would you like to start the bidding
at one pound for Havoc.
Yeah, I'll take Havoc for a pint.
I'll do two.
I'll go three.
Oh, wow, go to four.
Six.
Seven.
Eight.
Is that nine?
Or just a cough?
That was a cough.
I think that was you bidding.
Is that it?
Is it really?
Yeah, it sounds like we're going to finish an eight.
Okay.
All right.
so havoc goes for eight
my team i know we're not an x-men podcast
but my team has a lot of x-men on it so
it made sense to add havoc to the list
no
what number are we up
well we're at this is the 19th spin
and dillon you kind of called it earlier
and it looks like
war machine
a k a james roads
uh war machine
joined the avengers
way back, as well, technically, I believe he joined as Iron Man, if memory serves.
But as War Machine, I believe it was West Coast Avengers number one, September of 1984.
So, of course, you know, we know War Machine, that he is a military mind,
a veteran of the armed services, aviator, and utilizes a powered armor suit that is a little
more heavy duty than Iron Man is used to.
And we'll start bidding at one pound for War Machine.
go with three pines.
I'll go five.
Oh.
Oh, what?
Yep, I got a little over faster than you.
I go six and.
It was amazing how it sink you guys were.
I am going to go with
Corey, tell me the name of an American city real quick.
Indianapolis.
I'm going to go to Indianapolis seven.
That it?
Seven once?
I think so.
seven twice wow i did it
up down seven
we
I'm happy with that
I like the machine man he was cool
this will be our last bit before we do another quick recap
dude
was there what was a guy
sorry
no what were you saying
I was trying to guess
War Machine was in one of the Marvel versus
copcoms and I think it was
it was one or two
maybe it was one because I think Ironman was in two right
nobody knows
not a video game guy
we'll do an episode of a Marvel versus Capcom at some point
okay sounds good
but this will be our 20th spin
and we'll do a recap shortly after we settled
this one
we've lost our drum again but that's fine
oh Corey
hey it's Jack of Hearts
the Jack of Hearts
joined the Avengers
I want to
say he was a 70s or 80s character.
It's got to be the late 80s, right?
You would think.
Oh, wait.
I don't think it was a 70s.
I mean, that costume design, you tell me that's not 70s?
He's the 90s vibe to him.
Trump came in for a second there.
Jack of Hearts joined the Avengers.
Sorry, I must be scrolling by his name somehow.
It's like a tar lap.
When did Jack of Hearts join the Avengers?
Wow, no.
we were just looking at the wrong era jack of hearts
a k a jonathan hart joined
the avengers and avengers volume 3 number
43 in august of 2001
wow
holy hell
that is surprising
uh but jack of hearts
he is a human
he's alive again he's a human
contraction hybrid
he has the ability to generate concussive blasts
fly he can survive unaided
in space he has a sensitive brain
that senses motion
he has increased intelligence, strength,
durability, and memory,
and was most recently dating She-Hulk
when he was resurrected.
So we'll start the bidding at one pound for Jack of Hearts.
Who wants somebody with a sensitive brain?
I mean, I have a sensitive brain,
so I should probably take him.
I was like, Corey's going to get him.
All right, we'll take Jack of Hearts for one pound
and get him off the board.
All right, well, that was spin number 20.
So, Dylan, would you like to run down
who's on whose team?
I just got to say,
I love how we all collectively know who Corey is going to get.
Steph,
even Corey is like,
yeah,
on the team.
Like,
you're just like,
all right.
Yeah,
come on in.
It's so,
Corey is so,
like,
all inclusive.
He doesn't mind,
like the freaks and the weirdos.
Come on in.
You're alive.
Whereas me and John are like,
no,
only the cool guys.
Yeah.
Whatever is ghost rider or hi I had,
but,
you know.
So,
John has a pretty good team
He is Mr. Fantastic
He is Iron Man
He is Neymour
He is Firestar
And he is the Wasp
But the Janet Van Dyme one
I have the Hulk
Whatever ghost rider
The Nadia Wasp
Miss Marvel
Havoc and War Machine
I think that's still pretty cool
For his Justice
Captain Britain Girl
This is what I wrote down
Living Lightning
Photon Starbrand
Night Mask, Quasdard, Dr. Druid, and the Jack of Hearts.
I mean, that's a Hall of Fame right there.
That's, yeah.
So, technically, we have, what, 10 more spins?
At least.
Ten more spins, at least.
Technically, if all goes to plan, we have 10 more spins.
Yes.
We need to find out how much money we're playing with.
All right, yep, John.
What is everybody left out?
Well, let's see.
Corey, you still have
216 pounds left to spend,
which means you've only spent 10 pounds so far.
Dylan, you have 195 pounds left to spend.
I have 94 pounds left to spend.
But, hold on, you've 94 now.
How much do I got?
195.
I thought you said a different number.
I'm like, oh, whatever.
Okay.
So we'll do another check in here in five more spins
and kind of see who's left on the board at that point.
But this is spin number 21.
I love how we're still getting all the drags of society.
Oh, cool cat sound.
It's Cannonball.
Cannonball, aka Sam Guthrie, joined the Avengers.
And Avengers Volume 5, issue number one in December 2012
as part of Hickman's Avengers.
So, Cannonball is a mutant
who has the ability to
propel himself
with a blast field and jet propulsion.
And he's basically indestructible
when he's hurtling at you
like a cannonball.
So, we'll start the bidding at
one pound for cannonball. I'll take that.
I'll take two.
I'll go three.
Five.
Five?
I'll do five.
Oh.
I'll go six
I don't know man
seven
all right seven once
that's Corey
just coughed so he
he bid 18
seven
seven twice
Dylan you're getting
cannibal for seven
I don't mind that
no it's a good get
all right your spin number 22
hey
it's Nova
but not the rich writer
version Nova
it is the Sam Alexander Nova
of memory serves
is his name.
This Nova joined the Avengers.
I want to say around the same time
as Kamala Khan and Miles Morales.
There was a period of time and they're all attached
to the hip. Let's see. Yes.
Well, no, he actually joined in Secret Avengers
number one in May of 2010.
He was in the same lineup as
Valkyry, Agent 13, and Black Ants,
Eric O'Grady.
So Sam
is, of course, his father,
is was one of the Nova Force and he inherited the helmet.
So he has expert hand-to-hand combatant.
He has access to the Nova Force.
Superhuman strength, speed,
agility, durability, and reflexes.
He can exert influence over gravitational forces and open warm holes.
He has a rehealing factor and he can fly.
So we'll start the bidding at one pound for Nova.
And I'll take that.
You ever think of building like a big like apartment complex for your dudes?
I'll go three.
I don't think anyone's doing anything with the West Coast Avengers Mansion.
The book just got canceled again.
So, John is at three.
What?
Yep, John bid three.
Right?
What?
I'm taking over.
All yours.
All right, well.
I feel like I should have bid two, though.
Yep, John, you're getting over for three.
I love why you're so, like, thinking about your money so much,
that you think that three is it overbid?
it is
all right
this is spin number 23
it's one of the lowest numbers
here we go
it's cable
cable
a kable
a kable a k a k a kaneh
volume 3 issue number 3
in December of 2016
of course we know that cable has a very
limited telekinesis and telepathy
mainly because he's using his powers
to keep his body from falling apart
but he's an expert
Marksman and hand-to-hand combatant, any of cybernetic enhancements that grant him
superhuman strength and durability, enhanced, multispectral vision, and the ability to interface
with technology.
He can also time slide.
So we have a time traveler on the board.
We'll start admitting at one pound for cable.
Well, I'm going to go in and do it at Cincinnati 13 before John.
God, damn it.
I go 14.
Oh!
I go 15.
Oh.
What was that?
Sacramento 15, was it?
I guess Sacramento.
Oh, yeah, Sacramento 15.
Hmm.
Can I do a Santa Monica 17?
As long as you're trying to swim through the breakers and watch the world die.
Uh, I'm sure, whatever that means.
Bands called Everclear.
Well, I like Everclear.
What song is that?
Santa Monica.
I haven't heard that.
What album is it?
It was like their first big, uh, hit, if I'm not mistaken.
it's on so much for the afterglow, if I'm not mistaken.
Was it their first big hit?
I thought it was.
What the fuck did I think their big hit was?
We'll come back to this.
I mean, they're a father of mine.
I'll buy you a new life.
Those are also big songs.
You know, join us here another podcast where we talk about 90s alternative rock.
Corey, oh my God, we do a spin-off and we just talk about 90s
to start a rock because we would all be very good.
Nothing would make me happier.
I would love to talk about 90s alternative rock with someone.
What if we did a wheel where we all like a,
bid on
this alternative rock bands
oh shit that'd be fun
wouldn't this how much are you willing
to bid for Soundgarden you know
what is the bid
now I'm gonna
I think he was 16
we're on a 15
Santa Monica 17
17 because we're swimming past
the room to watch the world die
stop it
I'll go for a Boston 18
I'm in a feeling
18 once
well that I hear
Chicago 19
Make a music reference out of that, Corey.
I mean, there's a band called Chicago.
I feel like that'd be pretty easy to do.
That was the bit.
Oh, there we go.
Glad we got the bit out of the way.
I really want cable.
There's two guys I want on this show.
A Muslim's cable.
I mean...
I don't think you might be willing to go the distance.
I'll go for
Washington
22.
Oh, Washington.
Isn't that a state?
Easy, baby.
Portland 25.
Oh, man.
What?
Okay.
You weren't in the states or cities?
No, I'll go for...
Oh, don't go around any.
What do you think I'm going to do?
Something reckless and stupid?
Yes.
I do think that.
No, no, it'll be fine.
I'll go for a
Tallahassee
28.
28?
Yeah.
Oh, blah, blah, blah, blah,
28.
Tallahassee.
Where's Tallahassee?
Florida.
Okay.
Um,
28?
Yep.
Well, I'm going to go for it.
Truth of Consequences, 31.
Worved it.
I'm going to go
for an El Paso
35.
I really hoped it was an El Paso
I'm leaving the bidding.
Can I say Santa Cruz?
37?
Yeah.
Okay.
I wish you didn't say that, but still.
The different Santa.
There's lots of Santas in the West Coast.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
I don't want to spend 40, but I'm going to have to.
Oh, no, you don't have.
You don't have.
I'm going to go for a Cleveland 40.
Oh, no.
40.
Cable?
I really want cable, man.
So do I.
I'm really trying to think of different cities right now.
What's that, 40?
Yeah, it's like 40.
At Pittsburgh, 43.
Damn it.
Really get in there.
I go for a for a...
45.
What is the name of the city?
you live in just for no reason at all.
Columbus?
Columbus. Okay, cool.
And what was the bid again?
45 currently.
Philadelphia, 45, yes.
45?
You know what?
I'm gonna let you'll have it.
Yes.
45.
You get cable.
Sweet.
I really want a cable.
I just used up half of my money to get him, but it was worth it.
Well, I was going to say, like, is that the highest anybody's ever bid for somebody?
And then I was like, oh, wait.
I'm gonna...
No, it wasn't.
It was not.
All right.
This is our 24th spin of the wheel.
Make it really easy to get Spider-Mine, though.
Well, sometimes it works, and sometimes it's short and sometimes it's long.
Geez.
All right, well, it is the Falcon, a.k.a. Captain America, aka Sam, Sam,
Sam, whichever identity we're going to refer to him as, officially joined the Avengers.
He was a really early out of, I'm not mistaken.
Yes, he was.
in Avengers number 184 in June of 1979.
Of course, we all know Guy,
really good with a set of wings.
Even if he's throwing a shield,
he could still fly with the best of them.
Four?
So, I'll start the bidding at one pound for the Falcon,
aka Sam Wilson.
I will take that for a pine.
Two?
I will go three.
Four.
Does it have to be the mark?
No.
going we did one where it was in england wasn't it yeah yeah i'm pretty sure you where you guys ran out of cities
that sounds right the america is so big they have so many cities we should be able to
like they have at least 50 states what's a city in hawaii does anybody know oh anchorage that's a
city alaska yeah there you go isn't it what's a bit i'm gonna say five anchorage five
Dylan, you got yourself a falcon
I was about to say, Corey,
that if you bid one more, you would have got him.
Ah, that's fine.
Okay.
Nice to have a guy that can fly anth or a shield, you know.
And he could talk to a bird.
Who doesn't want that?
All right, here's our 25th spin.
We'll do a quick recap after this.
No sound again.
It's Daredevil,
aka Matt Murdoch
Daredevil joined the Avengers
in
I feel like he was a recent ad I guess he was
in New Avengers number
16 volume 2 in September
of 2011
so we all know
Daredevil's story
blinded and youth
gained incredible radar skills
excellent hand-to-hand combatant
and one heck of a lawyer
so we'll start the bidding at one pound for Daredevil
one pound please
well I'm gonna go in for that Anchorage
five like I did
I go for a San Diego 7
a lovely
San Diego 7
well I'm just gonna have to do the Cincinnati
13 and get it over and dumb with
oh you're a bastard
you got table
yeah
now you know I want
dare devil and you're gonna crank up
the price
John I
will do you a deal.
Mm-hmm.
If I get Daredevil, I will
trade you Dirt Devil for Cable.
No.
You have to change the monetary value
as well, like, whatever it is.
I will, I will
treat you Dirt Devil for Cable
and then pay the difference as well.
Mm.
So if you
want to pay 45, fine.
I will pay whatever
the difference is in the middle of it.
I will pay, I will give that money out of my
hunt to you.
Nope.
Okay.
I thought about it, but no.
So the bidding is still...
I thought that was a fair deal.
What was it?
Yeah, I have 13.
Okay.
I'll go...
I'll go for the Sacramento 15.
Whatever we said was 17.
Santa Monica
I said that one
I said that one
Oh
Chicago 19
Corey
you had just been better than this at all
No really
Why it's Daredouble
Yeah I'm good
All right
21
What wait
Wait wait wait wait wait
Wait
Do we do 21 already?
Is that have a state or a city to it?
I don't think so.
Hmm.
Uh,
well,
then Columbus, right?
Columbus 21.
Uh,
I'd go Washington 22.
I get,
I offered you a deal here, John.
20,
what did we say,
what did we say 25 was?
Uh,
I don't remember
we,
I don't remember we,
I said 25.
Hmm
Well we must just say
25
I'm gonna say 25
And then we'll assign a
City to it later
Okay
Mm-hmm
I can't go
Any higher
How much money do you have left
I've got 46 pounds
Okay
My deal still stands
If I get up at 25
I will give you an extra
20 fines
Hmm
No
I want K-A
as well.
I'll still bow out.
Yeah.
Okay.
What was it?
25.
Turn it.
Yeah.
Yep.
All right.
Well, we have five more spins tentatively still out there, and we have 16 names left on the field.
That was the most excited bit, because I'll tell you this, John, if you had to went over that, I would not have offered you that deal again.
I would have said I would have went to by 30.
it wouldn't have went all the way
but like that was the last opportunity
to give you the deal where I got Daredevil
and then traded you cable and exchanged
because you would have been up money
you would have got 20 points
yeah but I would have been down cable
is that right but I would have been up cable
there you go
all right so
we have 16 names left on the board
and they include Aries
the god of war beta ray bill agent 13
The Century, Blue Bolt, Echo, Dr. Strange, Penance,
stature, Blade, Black Knight, U.S. agent, Spider-Man, Ant-Man,
Wonder Man, and Jessica Jones.
So...
Man.
Do we want to...
Jessica Jones, man?
Yes.
There you go.
So, do we want a quick recap on the teams and money left
as we had into the potential five final spins?
Okay.
So, John...
still has a very good team
Mr. Fantastic. I remember
Namor, Firestar
the Janet version of the
Wasp, Nova, Cable, and Daredevil.
If you started an
Avengers comic with that list
I don't have Daredevil.
Sorry.
But like if you start
cut that bit out.
But if you
had an like an Avengers list
with that cast, you would
read that book, right?
it's a pretty solid lineup
I have the Hulk
Ghost Rider
the Nadia Wasp
Miss Marvel Havoc
War Machine, Cannonball
Alkin and Daredevil
And again I think if you saw that lineup
In a book you'd be like
That's pretty solid
There's some heavy hitters there
For play
You know
I just really wanted to point that out
As we get to Corrie's
Which is
Justice
Whoever the girl
Captain Britain is, Living Lightning,
photon, star
brand, night mask,
Hazar, a lot of two
syllable names, Dr. Druid
and the Jack of Hearts.
So, if you saw
that line up in the Avengers, you might
go... It was the 19th century.
I don't know.
I don't think I want to spend five pounds
on that. You'd been asking for
your money back.
Yeah, you're like, what the fuck?
his photo
So in terms of money we have left over
Corey still has
216 pounds left to spend
Dylan is down to
158 pounds left to spend
and I have
46 pounds left over
I feel like I fuck this because Corey's
could
potentially do something really annoying?
I really, really hope
Corey does something spectacular
when a certain someone comes up.
How much money do I have left?
Something amazing?
216 pounds.
Yeah, I thought I was still the 200s.
Okay.
Yeah.
Please, please, please.
All right, we got five more spins.
Are you guys ready to go?
Yes.
All right, here we go.
Boy, when that's...
when the silence decides to be in effect.
That's rough.
All right.
With spin number 26, it's Penance,
aka Monet St. Croix.
Penance joined the Avengers very recently
in a very brief period of time.
It was in...
Let's see.
Not that recent.
Oh, jump started there for a second.
Uncanny Avengers, Volume 4, issue number one.
As Monet,
she has superhuman strength,
agility, dexterity, reflexes, coordination, balance, vision, hearing and endurance, genius level, intellect, intuitive aptitude, accelerated healing factor, supersonic flight, telekinesis, telepathy, and the ability to perceive mutant oras.
As penance, her body basically becomes super durable. She has razor sharp or diamond sharp claws, enhanced agility and dexterity.
And the ability to switch between both of these personas.
So we'll start the beating at one pound for penance, which I'll start at one.
I'll pick two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Do we get her in penance and in Munay form?
Yeah, you would get both.
Pretty good, man.
Six.
Seven.
Is that it?
Is it?
Yeah, is it?
I mean, you're the one you tell me.
Well, I said six.
is it seven?
Oh,
did you?
Yeah.
Oh, man.
No, that's okay.
Okay.
Penance goes to me for seven.
That is the most you spent.
Yeah.
By far.
All right.
Spin number 27.
Hey, it sounds back.
Oh, that's harsh.
It's Wonder Man,
Wonder Man,
aka Simon Williams,
joined the Avengers,
way back.
in, let's see, what exactly was that?
Avengers number 194 in April of 1980.
He was a former villain of the Avengers at first.
But he has superhuman strength, speed, agility, stamina, and reflexes, ionic energy, physiology,
enhanced vision and hearing, electromagnetic manipulation, ionic energy manipulation,
energy enhanced strikes, virtual invulnerability, self-sustinance, power recycling,
size alteration, healing factor, shape, shift,
teleportation, immortality, and flight.
Started bidding at one pound for Wonder Man.
I'll go one pound.
I'll go two.
I'll go three.
Four.
Do I really want to spend five pounds on Wonderman?
It can blow us up.
Oh, fuck it.
I'll go five.
There you go.
John, I will let you have Wonder Man for five.
Wow.
Cool.
Here is our 28th spin.
of the wheel.
Close.
It's the OG
Ant-Man, Hank Pim.
Of course, you also
would know him as Goliath,
Giant Man, the
wasp.
Did you have another name?
A scientific
adventurer, Hank Pim,
yellow jacket.
But of course, he joined in Avengers
No. 1 in September
1963. He's the inventor of Pim particles
that allowed you to manipulate your shape
and his special little helmet there allows him to talk to ants.
I started bidding at one pound for Ant Man.
No, thank you.
I'll go one.
I've already got two Ant-Man's, but why not complete the set?
With that argument, I will let you have Ant-Man for one pound.
Let you have all three.
Yay.
All right, issue here is spin number 29.
That Spider-Man wedge is getting bigger.
But first, first,
First, it's the U.S. agent, John Walker.
U.S. agent joined the Avengers way back in.
I want to say, yep, West Coast Avengers volume two, issue number 44.
Of course, he is someone who received a interesting dose of the super soldier serum
that had been modified by the power broker.
Basically, he is a stronger version of Captain America, but doesn't have his grace, so to speak.
So we'll start the bidding at one pound for U.S. agent, which I will.
take. I have them.
I mean, yeah, I'll take you as agent for a pound and nobody else wants him.
You got them.
Perfect.
All right.
Potentially, our final spin.
As a reminder on the board, we have Aries, Beta Ray Bill, Agent 13, Century, Blue Bolt, Echo, Dr.
Strange, Stature, Blade, Black Knight, Spider-Man, and Jessica Jones.
If Spider-Man is not this last spin, then we will keep going until we get Spider-Man.
Your deal.
Cross your fingers.
Doesn't look like it's going to happen, though.
Missed them.
Agent 13.
Fuck it, how old.
It's Agent 13, Agent 13,
a.k.a. Sharon Carter.
She joined the Avengers in Secret Avengers number one in May of 2010.
She has no superhuman abilities whatsoever to speak of,
but is an expert marksman and mistress of other weapons,
highly trained in espionage weaponry computers,
skilled martial artists and athlete,
and expert in hand-to-hand combat.
So we'll start the bidding at one pound.
for Agent 13.
I'll go one.
Go two?
I was going to pair her up with
Captain America, the real one.
But I'm not going for
three.
That sounds like Dylan's not either, so we'll go ahead
and take Agent 13 off.
All right, guys, well, we're officially
in sudden death. We're going to spend the wheel
until we get Spider-Man. Sound good?
I mean, this is unfortunate.
Isn't it?
Well, why is it unfortunate?
We know why.
But our first round of sudden death, we're getting Dr. Strange.
Very regal.
Dr. Stephen Strange joined the Avengers.
When exactly?
Feels like a new Avengers ad.
Yep, sir it was.
New Avengers number 27 in February of 2007.
Well, he is the on-again, off-again, sorcerer supreme, master of the mystic arts.
and, you know, overall magical do-gooder.
So, started bidding at one pound for Dr. Stephen Strange.
One pound for me, please.
I'll go two.
I'll go three.
I already have Dr. Druid, I feel like, and Kalu.
I feel like I'd be hoarding at this point.
Yeah, but you can have all of them.
Well, I also have Clea Strange's wife,
but I also separated Sharon Carter from Steve,
so I suppose it's only fair.
So, John, you're, you can have Dr. Strange.
Okay.
All right.
We're down to 10.
Great.
Keep going.
Mm-hmm.
Close again.
It's the Black Knight.
The Black Knight, Dane Whitman, joined the Avengers way back in the day.
That would be, I swear he's an 80s character.
It happened in like a 90-ard year before.
Do you join in the 90?
I know he was in the team in the 90.
but I feel like he joined before that.
Yes, he joined the Avengers in,
wow, Avengers number 71 in December of 1969.
Long-ridden member.
Yeah, long-time member.
So he's an expert hand-to-hand combatant, genius, physicist, and geneticist,
adept strategist and tactician, excellent swordsman,
expert equestrian, has knowledge of magic,
and he has an enchanted necklace that summons his sword and shielded armor
and the cursed ebony blade.
We'll start the bidding at one pound for the Black Knight,
which I will start off with.
Here's the thing, Corey.
I know that both you and I like the Black Knight.
Yes.
I'm going to go for two.
I'll go three.
I will go for...
Five?
Six.
Seven.
I don't feel like them that much.
I just leave it there.
Okay.
So that's what seven for Black Knight?
All right, Dylan.
That Spider-Man Web just getting...
bigger.
But it won't be on this spin.
Oh my God. He's going to be the last one.
It's Echo.
We're going to be here forever.
Echo joined the Avengers back in...
She's a more recent member, if I'm not mistaken.
What I thought, like 2005-ish?
1967.
Let's see.
I think she originally joined as Roman.
Yes, she did.
And Maya Lopez joined in 2005, New Avengers number 11.
So Echo is an expert, a martial artist, a hand-to-hand combatant, highly skilled acrobat and athlete, and has photographic reflexes.
Well, at one point, she was also someone who possessed the phoenix for a very experimental time in Marvel where they say,
let's give the phoenix to a non-X-Men character.
And, you know, she had the phoenix for a bit.
But that's not so much anymore.
or we'll start the bidding at one pound for Echo.
I go one.
And it sounds like you're going to get her for one.
Nice.
All right, here we go.
Once again, into the fray.
Will we be here for every name on the wheel?
Fuck me, dude.
At we just like,
at what point do we call it
before, like, we go through every single fucking name?
We'll find out when we get there.
But first up, we have Jessica Jones.
aka Jewel.
She joined the Avengers.
I want to say in the 2000s.
Yes, she joined in 2010.
New Avengers Volume 2 issue number one in 2010.
So Jessica Jones has, she's a human mutate,
whatever that may mean.
She has superhuman strength and durability,
sorry to healing factor,
skilled hand-to-hand combatant, psionic resistance,
flight, and is an expert detective.
Started the bidding at one pound.
I go, one pound.
reunite her with Luke Cage.
I'll take two.
I go three.
Four?
I go five.
I'm probably good without.
Okay, five for John.
All right, we're down to seven.
Someone's safe, Fraubukar.
It's a century.
Century joining the Avengers
in New Avengers number 10, October of 2005.
So the
Century, of course,
has the powers of pretty much
a million exploding suns.
And also, whenever he does something good,
his alternate persona of the void
does something equally as terrible.
Start the bidding at one pound for the century.
One pound for me, please.
I'll go two.
I'll go two. I'll go three then.
I go four.
Century's a big hitter.
What did you say four?
Yeah.
I'll go five.
I'll go six.
I want the sentry.
I'll go seven.
I'll go eight.
Eight once.
Twice.
Sold to John.
My team's amazing.
Your team's really pretty good.
Not going to lie.
All right, six names left on the board.
Will this next spin be Spider-Man?
Nope.
Instead, it's Beta Ray Bill.
Beta Ray Bill joined the Avengers in Immortal Thor, number 25 in July of 2025.
Didn't even join the Avengers in an Avengers book.
But I spear your hand-to-hand combatant, vastly human strength speed, stamina, and durability, highly extended lifespan.
And via Stormbreaker, he has flight, electricity, manipulation, and weather manipulation.
Start the bidding at one pound for Beta Ray Bill.
One for me, please.
I'll go two.
I go three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Cincinnati, seven.
Right, John.
You have them for seven.
Very nice.
Sweet.
Pretty good.
All right. Five names left, Dylan.
Will it be Spider-Man finally?
No.
Can we just end this?
Can we just like kill me, please?
It's Blue Bolt.
Blue Bolt joined the Avengers very, very recently
in West Coast Avengers
Chad Braxton-born Thomas Tommy Watt
joined West Coast Avengers Volume 4
Issue number 1 in November of 2024
Basically electricity manipulation
That's the guy's deal
So they're bidding at one pound for Blue Bolt, which I will take
Where he's about to get any character
Yeah, you've got him
All right
Dylan, we're down to four names
will this one finally be Spider-Man?
Nope.
Well, Dylan.
Not with that attitude.
It's Spider-Man, aka Peter Parker.
Spider-Man officially joined the Avengers, I believe, as a reserve member, way back in...
Oh, boy, we're going to scroll back a little bit, if I'm not mistaken.
Yes, Avengers number 316 in April of 1990.
We don't need to discuss Spider-Man's power.
What we need to discuss is how much money people have left.
John, what are we looking at?
Well, I have 16 pounds left, so I'm going to put that down straight away.
16 is a starting day.
Yeah.
Dylan, you have 158 pounds left.
And Corey, you have 1998 pounds left to spend.
I feel like I should put
159 on this.
Now, as an American,
I'm not good at the maths,
as you guys call it.
But I think
what I just did
was I have served up Dylan
a lovely piece of humble pie
because we've been doing these Avengers
auctions for over a year
and a half now, I want to say.
I think we start.
started in March of 2025 doing these auctions.
And every time Dylan brings up the fact that I have the worst team.
Oh, my teams are so terrible.
They're so bad.
Well, Dylan, I have Spider-Man now.
Can I just say to that point that your teams are still really, really bad?
Yes, but I have denied you the one thing that we got this thing going past.
The 38 spins.
Three away from doing everybody.
What did you spend 152?
159.
59.
59.
59. Okay.
So as a quick reminder, the three names that did not go drafted are Ares, the God of War,
Blade, the Daywalker, and stature.
All right, guys, welcome back.
I will say this about our projects.
We do, we are ambitious, but we do see it through.
Like I said, this was like a year and almost a quarter in the making.
but we finally got there
we've auctioned off
almost every Avenger
or three
aside from three
but that being said
Dylan would you like to run down the teams one last time
the teams that we bid on today or like all of the teams
the teams we bid on today
because I could do all the teams right now
if you'd like to
then we could see who has the overall
best team
didn't we
sure
If you want to go for it.
Make sense?
Yeah.
All right.
So let's go with
Wendy John first.
Yes.
The best.
Scarter Witch, Thor,
Captain America,
the Steve Rogers one,
two gun kid,
Black Panther,
Star Fox,
Moon Dragon, Moon Knight,
Blue Kids,
Invisible Woman, Demolition Man,
Sandman,
Scott Lang Ant Man,
the Julia Carpenter Spider Woman,
Red Hulk,
Iron Fist,
the Erica Grady

Soldier, Wolverine, Hyperion, Brother
Boodoo, Shang-Chi, Deadpool,
night thrasher, lady hawk
carnage, night hawk,
Mr. Immortal, Captain Beyond,
the Daven Coulton, Captain America,
Mr. Fantastic, Iron Man, Namor,
Firestar, Janet Version of the Wasp,
Nova, Cable, Wonder Man,
The Hank Pim,
Dr. Strange, Echo, Jessica Jones,
Sentry, Better Right Bill.
Honestly, that's a pretty good fucking team.
like all around
that's hard to beat
I got to say
fair play
my team
overall is Captain Marvel
Mantis Hellcat
Black Widow Beast
Mockingbird Tiger
Crystal Thing
Dark Hawk
Machine Man
Thunderstrike Triathlon
The Jessica Drewie Spider Woman
Storm Captain Britain
Captain Universe
Weak
Sinapps DoomBot
Sunfire Sunspot
Lady Thor, Rogue, the Miles Morales, Spider-Man.
So, Daredevil, the Electroversion.
Ultron, Bone Ranger, Impossible City,
the Hulk, Ghost Rider, the Nadia version of the Wasp,
Miss Marvel, Havoc, War Machine, Cannonball, Falcon,
and then the real Daredevil.
Corey has, Storzeman, Hawkeye, Hercules, She-Hulk, Vision,

Firebird, Rage, Silver Clause,
Circee, the Jim Hammond version of the Human Torch,
Valky, Amadeus Cho, Nova, the Teenage Vision,

Night Mask,
Hazard, Dr. Druid,
Jack of Arts,
penance,
U.S. Agent 13,
Black Knight,
blue vault,
and somebody called Spider-Man.
So,
in terms of quantity,
Corey's right off there.
In terms of quality,
when you look back at it,
this,
I think this auction
did a lot for John,
really.
Like,
you get a lot of quality.
heavy hitters.
It definitely makes up for the auction with the failed sabotage.
Yeah.
I mean, if you look at it now, but going into this, I honestly think I had the best team
coming out of it, I think John probably is the best team.
You know, but if people are listening to this and have access to like a comment section,
tell us who you think has the best team.
There you go.
Yeah.
John, can you tell us how much money everybody had left over at the end of the day?
Oh, so.
I had 16 pounds left to spend
Corey you had 39 pounds left to spend
and Dylan had 158 pounds left to spend
so I guess he can take that home with him
And we get that in like cash, yeah
You get that in Chuck Echise Prize tokens
If I go to America
With this understanding that I will get those
As Chuck E's prize tokens
Yeah those little tickets
Is it valid or will I have to phone you up
to talk to the manager with this.
You'll have to talk to Charles Entertainment. She's directly
about it. He died.
Oh, that's unfortunate.
What am I supposed to do?
Sometimes life just hits you hard
like that, bud. I don't have to tell you.
Well, that's a shit. That's America for you.
Kind of trust it. Hey, speaking of America, that's
where John was recently. John,
what's your movie count out for the year so far?
Well, my movie
count is now up to
670.
670, not bad.
Did you watch films
of the plan?
Yeah.
I struggled on the flight back because
it was a Virgin Atlantic flight,
which basically
none of the movies were
working on it, or like 90%
of them weren't working for some reason.
So my
choices were limited. But I did
managed to squeeze in quite a few good movies along the way, so it wasn't too bad.
Every time I went to fly to Georgia, which was quite frequently over the last few years,
there was always somebody watching You've Got Mail or The Notebook. It was always those two movies.
Oh, damn. So, John, what was the last movie that you watched?
The last movie I watched was Westworld.
Oh, okay, Ewell Brenner?
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
The old classic.
And what did you give that on your letterboxed?
I gave it three and a half stars because it was a lot better than I remember it being.
So, yeah, I had fun with that.
Oh, there you go.
Well, John, where can they go to see a more in-depth review of Westworld as well as the other movies you were watching on the plane?
They can head to Letterbox and find me at Big John Bowsk.
Ormond
And Dylan,
what did you
be getting up to
you in this week?
I'm probably
going to hang myself
and I don't get
Spider-Man
but if I'm not doing that
what I do on Monday nights
I do a radio show
on Bouncedigilradio
dot go to UK
I play music
and talk stuff
from 9 o'clock
11 o'clock
UK time
it's available on your web browsers
I stream sometimes
on Twitch
at Spook of the Roo
I animate
those drawings
that I do and put them on YouTube at Tim Crows and I
on TikTok at Tim Crow Studios.
There you go.
As for me, I have the other show I do,
Large Old Cup, which is a spoken word podcast,
read some poetry on the most recent episode that I wrote,
which was an experience that I'm not sure if I'll repeat again,
but it was something that I did.
Addition to that, there's also new number ones,
which is on our YouTube channel.
I've had gotten some comments recently on a few episodes.
Most recent one, the creators of a comic that I reviewed
and didn't have a ton of nice things to say about it,
they commented on it, which I thought was wild.
Oh, what did they say?
I mean, they were just very polite, you know,
under, you know, basically like, just kind of acknowledging
creative processes and opinions and what have you.
But I was like, oh, okay, well, I wasn't expecting, you know,
those guys to reach out to me.
that was not in the cards when I started doing the best show.
But yeah, so that's new number one's last one I just did was about two liberated sex robots.
Hmm.
Yeah.
Cool.
Yep.
Also, I do have a third podcast that I am getting in the works of getting started soonish.
So when we get closer to that date, I'll start promoting it a little more heavily.
But it is in the pipeline officially.
that all being said, any final words on this Avengers auction?
Like so, this was like a year and a quarter in the making.
I would say congratulations to John for his pretty good roster of characters.
And congratulations to Corey for just dicking me over at the very end of it there.
Can I tell you before you and John brought it up, that was the plan?
I assumed it was.
Okay, cool.
I'm glad it was.
Yep, yep, yeah.
I mean, it was choreographed for...
A long time.
It was foreshadowed.
Yeah, yeah.
Grinned in the stars.
All right.
But you get.
It was absolutely worth the weight as well.
Perhaps we will do one of these again, but with the X-Men.
I don't know.
Or, uh,
no idea.
Yeah, we've already done.
We've done X-Men auctions before, but we were doing them a little differently.
And I feel like we have a more, we have a proper format these days now.
Okay.
So, sure.
It's definitely something that we can have.
in the works but uh we'll see you guys next time goodbye bye bye oh that was a quiet one
