Good to see you.
It's nice to talk to you guys.
It's been so long.
It's been seven days.
Yeah, it's been a clean week, essentially.
A week.
A week.
And so welcome to Spark Avengers.
My name is Corey with me or Dylan and John.
How's it going, guys?
Hi.
Hello.
Pretty good.
Pretty good.
No complaints on our end whatsoever,
except for John, who doesn't have the crisps that I have,
because I'm very privileged man.
Yes, I'm very angry about this.
You should be.
You should be very angry about this.
You should talk to your local council and say, we got to get these crisps.
Corey, you're going to do this too.
You got to get these crisps.
So today we are going to be doing another one of our auctions.
Rules are going to be the same.
Everybody gets 100 pounds.
We go through listed names and we bid to determine who's going to assemble the better team.
We are not going to necessarily be limiting ourselves to the number this time,
but this go around, we are making our own Sinister Six.
So every name that you will hear is going to be a Spider-Man villain of some variety.
And we've decided to change up a little bit because the last two times we've done auctions,
I have to be the one to read the names.
So I know what's coming up next in the batting order.
And that kind of gave me an unfair advantage because I knew when to save my money.
However, I'm using a website called Wheel of Names, and we have entered in a list of all of these character names, and we are going to, as they would in WCW, spin the wheel and make the deal, where whatever it lands on is going to be our next person up for auction, and we'll go that way.
So another big difference, guys, is there are 32 names. However, we're only going to be drafting 22 people.
So there is 10 names on this list we will not hear.
And because this is a spin of a wheel and entirely random,
there might be some big names that we're missing out on,
like Venom or Dr. Octopus or the Green Goblin.
All right.
So if you guys would like to start or any thoughts before we spin the wheel.
I'm really excited, man.
I think this is going to be like a fun.
I like the idea of a spin the wheel.
I really like that.
I think it's like a fun thing.
Are you guys ready to spin?
Spin that fucking ass wheel.
All right.
Our very first name is the Sandman.
So Samman's going to come off the list.
I got the comic vine window open so you guys can see all this stuff as well.
We're going to pull up his entry in Marvel Comics.
We're talking about Saman from Spider-Man.
Yep.
This is not Morbius.
Not Morbius.
It's also not the,
1930s
JSA Sandman.
Which is also in the Morpheus Bill.
Yes.
All right. So Sandman, our little blurb is
the former enemy of Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four.
Sandman reformed after realizing
he was unhappy with his life. He joined the Avengers
and later Silver Sables Wild Pack.
He eventually returned to crime after being
brainwashed by the wizard, but sometimes
still displays the desire to better himself.
Very famously portrayed by
Thomas Hayden Church in Spider-Man 3.
I loved him.
He was the best thing about Spider-Man 3.
Yes.
I don't know if this is controversial.
Thomas in Church was the best part of Spider-Man 3.
That is not controversial at all.
Good man.
Thank you very much.
So for that reason, I'm going to put out, open a bit of 10 pines.
10?
Jeez.
That's a good start.
So real quick, for those who are uninitiated,
the Sandman has the ability to essentially turn his body into sand and control.
sand itself. He can make himself massive. He can make himself small.
He can make weapons out of his hands made of sand.
There's that one really weird comic where he fills up Spider-Man's body and then kills him.
Doesn't do that, though. He doesn't do that, though. He doesn't do. He has the potential to do that, but he doesn't do that.
Yeah, it's a little too much even for him. His first appearance was in The Amazing Spider.
Number four, Nothing Can Stop the Sandman, and he has appeared in 1,275 issues.
I love how they said nothing. It's up.
the Sunman and then 2,000 issues later
you're like some things can't stop the
Sandman. Saman can be stopped.
Yes. And in retrospect,
he's definitely being able to be stopped.
So I put out...
I'm going to say 10, 10, 10 points
right now.
I'll go 11.
John?
I don't know if I want to spend
this much on the Sandman.
For the Sandman. Dude, the Sunman's
a gas man. He's a good man.
I know, but...
You don't want to spend 10 points on the Sandman?
Well, I'd have to spend his own.
Yeah.
He's awesome.
Yeah.
He can fill your lungs full of sand.
No, it's all right.
You're saving your money for a swarm, right?
Oh, absolutely.
Lugs with bees.
There's some real bangers on this list, by the way.
I'm looking at this list.
I'm like, oh, boy.
We got some real, like, out of, uh, surprise us right here.
But, like, at the sound that I go with, like, a quality,
like classic villain.
People know the Sandman.
Like you said, he was on the film.
We know the Sandman.
Never in the animated series, though.
Not the 90s series.
I think he was in the 2000s animated series, though.
Yeah.
The one with the, yeah, yeah.
So anyway, right now the bidding is at 11.
John, if you're not going to go, I'll go 15.
Jesus Christ.
All right.
I'm going to back out of the Sandman.
You can't
I get the sound number 15
Yeah
So going once
Twice sold to Dylan
Dylan I have to say
This is the most aggressive
You've come out on an auction
Because very famously
For several rounds
You only had Bishop for three
In the X-Men
And then you didn't have anything
For a hot minute
I got a fucking score
I got Bishop for like nothing
Dude the sound man
I might throw you one
The thing to sound
The coolest shit villain.
You can put sound in your fucking lungs.
This is, wheels is going to get spun 21 more times.
Yeah.
I don't give a shit.
What are I going to get?
The camera.
That's my goal.
That's my goal.
I'm going to get,
I wanted like a symbol of team of jobbers.
I want to come out of this auction with 90 left.
So I'm already,
what did I say?
I'm at 15.
15, right?
Yeah.
What, 85?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
That's, I could get Dr.
Octopus for that.
There you go.
Are you guys ready to spin the wheel?
again.
Yes.
Spin the wheel, bitch.
Makata.
I really wish you could hear the sounds
is making.
It's pretty phenomenal.
I can't.
Oh.
All right.
Our second on the list up is the kingpin,
Wilson Fisk.
That's a good one.
Let me bring up his bio real quick.
Yes.
Please tell us about what the king pin is done
to the Spider-Man.
All right. The kingpin is a super villain originating for Marvel comics, the self-proclaimed kingpin of crime.
Wilson Fisk is one of the most prominent figures of organized crime in the United States.
He's the king of the mobsters controlling organized crime on the East Coast with an iron fist.
He's a major enemies of superhero Spider-Man and Daredevil.
Wilson Fisk very famously, does he have powers? Yes or no? Or is he just a big dude?
He's just a big, strong dude. He's strong. He's strong.
Yeah.
There's some kind of like superhuman strength.
But really it's
human.
I think it's just
it's just peak of resilience.
He's like strong like
Yeah I mean
the comic vine says super strength
but I don't buy that.
I think he's just
you know.
I feel like he has some sort of like resilience
and like strength
like being hit
and being able to hit people.
I think he has some kind of like
resilience to him.
You know?
No.
John does not believe it.
I think he's just a big.
Tough guy.
But he's a big man.
He can take hits from Spider-Man.
Spider-Man has the strength of like 10 guys.
So like if he can take a punch with Spider-Man.
But he admits that he pulls his strength when he's fighting people.
He only gives him enough to knock him out.
He might have to really pull from this.
He admits he pulls the points of for some people.
If he's hitting the king pin, he's hitting the kingpin.
You got to believe he's hit the king-pin, man.
Well, then they didn't they address that in like the Civil War, like after the fall of civil war, like where he got his revenge on King's
pin by humiliating him in front of other prisoners.
We have talked about this
entire Civil War business
a couple of times.
Did we talk about Civil War in total? I don't think
we did. I think we talked about the Spider-Man
revealing his identity, but I don't think we've ever done a deep dive
on Civil War. Well, no, we talked about
the Spider-Man bit. Yeah.
In Civil War. And none of us
were super
happy butter, so.
So I was less happy at Civil War, too, but that should be
a whole episode as well. Yeah, that's a whole thing.
That's a whole thing.
All right, so real quick, while we are still debating on whether or not Wilson Fisk has augmented strength or not, really his biggest powers are his connections in New York City crime and else, you know, like higher society.
He's very intimidating. He's incredibly wealthy.
And yeah, I mean, he's the kind of guy that if you want something done, you just has to point at it and tell someone to do it.
But he's strong.
Yeah. So his first appearance.
Like his physical strength is very good.
So his first appearance was in the Amazing Spider-Man number 50 Spider-Man No More, and he has appeared in 2024 issues.
So a little bit more than Sandman.
So we're going to start the bidding at I'll start the bidding at three, five, six, eight, eight, nine.
All right, those are nine.
John's at ten.
John?
All right, ten once.
10 twice
Come on now
Kingpin goes to John for 10
Hell yeah
Hang whoa
Whoa
John said 10
Yeah John said 10
And Corey you're not interested
No no I'm good
Remember I told you I have a plan
And it's all terrible characters
For the kingpin though
Yeah no that's the problem
Is I'm saving my money for other names on here
That you can probably guess
I'm gonna go 11
All right
I've already one
What? Hang on.
Yeah, he already won.
It ended.
No, he said once and twice.
You did say three times.
I think that I did say three times.
Well, then that's fine.
John, John and Hobart.
Okay.
Do you really want to spend
25 pounds on the,
between the first two?
Because like, Dylan, that's speed running.
I'm trying to do the best.
I'm sorry,
the hedgehog, man.
All right.
All right, John.
So, for record,
I've got Simon, John.
Kingpin pretty good.
Not bad. Not bad.
Corman went for a little bit more.
I'm coming up.
You can't get all goblins. Listen, man. You're not going to get all goblins.
Well, considering there's only two goblins on the list. No, I cannot get all goblins.
Let's go ahead though. Are you guys ready to spin it for the third time?
Yes.
Well, how much did John spend on that?
10 pound.
10? Okay. It's right at dime so I know.
All right.
Our third choice is Dr. Octopus.
Wow.
Uh-oh.
Oh, dear.
Out of the gate.
Oh, this is going to be nasty.
This wheel business is fucking great, by the way.
This is tough.
I thought it was going to be the big wheel.
Yeah, it looked like big wheel for a second, didn't it?
Oh, I could have got the big wheel for a steel, but not today.
But to be fair, though, I think of me and John would have had a fight.
over the big wheel.
But now we're going to have a fight over Dr. Octopus.
Dr. Octopus is a super villain originating for Marvel Comics,
a former nuclear physicist and atomic researcher.
Otto Octavius has life changed forever when one of his experiments went horribly wrong,
involving his four mechanical appendages used to assist him his experiments.
From then on,
Octavia soon after his initial encounter has become one of the most dangerous
supervillains in the Marvel universe.
So obviously...
I love high...
Obviously, you have to, like, tell people,
we run down, but
to tell people a run down of
Dr. Octopus
for Spider-Man villains
is a bit, like,
he's the best, man.
This is tough, man, because I know John's
going to be competing for him. I love
Dr. Octopus. This is going to be a tough one.
This is going to be a real tough one.
I'm going to say five right off the bat.
Okay. Real quick, though,
as everybody, if you're not initiated,
Dr. Octopus has four mechanical arms.
that sort of almost acted independently of him.
And he's a fucking octopus.
He's also incredibly intelligent and has successfully thwarted Spider-Man by changing consciousness with him and spending a period of time as the superior Spider-Man.
Actually talked about this and like, was it the last episode or like?
Very recently.
Yeah, very recently we had a whole superior.
Very recently.
Yeah, it was one of our best deaths episode, I believe.
The best deaths.
Indeed.
So if it's best, you got to be going to imagine he's.
going to be really good at being alive.
Dr. Octopus debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man number three and has appeared in 2,502 issues since his debut.
All right, John, what do you think?
You put down five already, right?
I put five.
I'll put down 10.
15.
16.
17?
18.
That's getting a bit too spicy.
18 going once?
It's a spicy man.
18 going twice.
He loves spicy.
He loves eating your restaurants.
Looks like Dylan, you have picked up Dr.
Alpuis for 18.
So, Dylan, you are now at
Sandman and Dr. Octopus.
You have a very classic
Sinister Six lineup starting.
Yes, I do.
I have the ultimate lineup.
And John, you have Wilson Fis
currently.
Mm-hmm.
Yes.
Oh, Corey, what do you have right now?
Real quick.
Listen, it's coming.
It's coming.
I've got a plan.
I've got a plan.
What is your plan?
Like the kangaroo, the spot.
Like, don't put my spot.
I love the spot, man.
I'm going to make a big play for the spot.
With what money?
If I hadn't spent all my money on Dr.
August, I would have made a big play for the spot.
So real quick, John, do you want to run down the remaining balances?
So I have 90 pounds left to spend.
Dylan has 67 pounds left to spend.
Whoa.
And Corey has 100 pounds left to spend.
Very different from the first time we did this.
Yes, yeah.
Very different.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All right.
I'm happy, dude.
Dr. Octopus is one of my favorite guys in comics history.
Like, I love Dr. Octopus.
I'm so glad I got him.
So I got a steel, man.
18 pounds?
Like, that's a fucking steal.
we'll see oh will we oh is that what's going to happen so our first three spins of the wheels we got three heavy hitters with the sandman and wilson fisk and dr octopus are you guys ready to spend the wheel for the fourth time let's do it what do we got spot oh all right our fourth pick is the big wheel
I'll put up one eye well hold on let's get let's get his bio red no he's a big wheel we know what he's a bite he's a big wheel up a one eye
all right jackson wheel is a villain who travels around through means of a giant wheel he himself created hence the name
big wheel his powers are he's very smart in big wheel was jackson wheel and he also was called the big wheel
Yep.
That was nice.
So he debuted in the Amazing Spider-Man number 182.
The Rocket Racer is back in town and has appeared in 47 issues since his debut.
What?
Just 47.
My God.
All right.
John, Dylan, you have one.
I said one.
I'll go three.
The big wheel?
Yep.
I don't know.
What do you think, John?
Uh, I don't want the big wheel on my team.
I mean, I did, but for three, I don't know.
I've always spent.
You spent a good bit.
Let me look at my team.
All right, real quick.
The sound man.
Dr. Octopus.
Big wheel.
You know what I mean?
One of those things isn't quite like.
Yeah, yeah.
Maybe I'll kind of like, well, Corey, do a little run down on the big wheel, if you will.
he was a big man for Spider-Man
and you see he was like a hundred issues or whatever
like 40-47
not 100
7 this bit's bananas
why we're seeing so many issues he's just a fucking big wheel
and he has an on-panel death
in Deadpool and the Merck's for money number four
he has a lot of on-pound deaths I think
yeah yeah
I'm Corey what did you say
what was you said three
three I'm gonna I think we're gonna give it to you
I'm not willing to go higher than you're not going to four
big wheel I like to be far I love the big wheel
but like I said I've already got a pretty good roster
I think if you look at like the Saman and Dr. Octopus
Big wheel that's a pretty top
Yeah so I'm happy to give that to you
All right so we go ahead and put down big wheel for me
Yeah
All right
So a very hard shift there from Sandman, Kingpin, Dr. Octopus to the Big Wheel.
You guys ready to spend for the fifth time?
Let's do it.
Yeah.
Oh, I hope it's good.
Give me something good, bitch.
Oh.
Oh.
All right.
Our number fifth pick is Tombstone.
That's good, man.
That's a good one.
I love Tombstone.
I actually do.
I think he's a great.
like villain.
I think that like it's really good with Spider-Man
where like they have that
cerebral
grind level
kind of villains and I think that
like Tombstone and Hammerhead are really
good villains in that
they're very like grind level.
They're not like God level
things.
All they want to do is like take over
their area.
I mean like that about that.
So I would say, dude, I want to say five for Doomstone real quick.
Come on.
You get so ahead of yourself.
Listen, I think we've established that what I would do is I will say a number and then
Corey tells everybody else what.
Yeah, I'll tell everybody what's going on.
Yeah.
My number is five.
Yeah, this auction is very much geared towards you as the spy as like one of the big
Spider-Man fans here.
So the cold, tall and monstrous looking Spider-Man villain who takes pride in his grim and
death-like appearance, Lonnie Thompson, Lincoln, is a criminal enforcer who uses methods of
intimidation and murder under the deserving nickname of Tombstone.
So, Tombstone, I mean, does he have powers?
It says invulnerability.
It's very strong.
His skin is, like, impervious to stuff.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so.
Well, he first appeared in Web of Spider-Man number three.
36 freak out in Times Square
and has appeared in 374 issues
Mm-hmm
So, Dylan, you started us out with five.
Yes, I'm gonna put a five out there.
I'll go six.
I'll go seven.
I'm gonna go eight.
Eve for Tombstone?
Yeah.
For Tombstone.
I think he's cool, man.
He's a good man.
A lot of good stuff going.
Like, we,
we could be spending way more money.
Like, eight's not that bad.
I spent fucking 15.
I spent 18 on Dr. Octopus.
I spent 15 on Sandman.
Eight's not that bad.
So eight going once.
Going twice.
Corey, you wanted to get in on this?
Dylan, you're getting tombstone for eight.
I'll take it.
I'll take it.
All right.
I think that's pretty good.
All right.
You guys ready to spin the wheel again.
Yeah.
What's my number at 9?
Uh, you were currently at 59.
59.
Yeah.
Oh.
Yeah, Dylan might be slowing down a little bit.
Yeah.
Right, here's our sixth spin of the wheel.
And it is the tarantula.
Ha, ha, ha.
Saving my money.
That's good.
I don't have to spend too much money.
I forgot there was a tarantula.
DC. There's like two different ones, right?
Yeah, we'll go with the old school one.
Why is it not the Marvel option immediately?
That can't be right.
No, that's ultimate tarantula.
Clone specimen by Dr. Octopus, which I own.
So I kind of technically own this tarantula.
So pretty good.
I don't think this is right either.
How come I not?
The tarantula.
Yeah, how come I can't find tarantula?
Got that fucking finds.
This is a good, really good, like, like starting point or how this is going to go.
Yeah, considering I can't even find a page from Connick Vine.
Can't even find the Comic Vine page.
Come on, Comic Vine.
Get better.
Your job to make us a little easier.
You know, we're trying to be it.
Nope, different ones still.
Let's try the Marvel wiki.
Guys.
How come I can find him immediately through Google?
Holy shit.
That's him, right?
Yep.
Yeah.
Google's your friend.
Yeah, right?
All right.
So this is Anton Miguel Rodriguez.
He is a...
Yep.
Member of the Savage Six.
Yep.
He's got a hot.
Yep. It's more of a bandana, ready.
He loves...
He's from South America.
Yep.
He is a professional criminal,
former smuggler, government operative,
and revolutionary terrorist.
His first appearance was
in Smeas experiment in the United States.
He's got blades in his shoes.
I believe so.
he's a skilled fighter and he has retractable razor blades and boots with retractable razor sharp points
the blades are covered with drugs that could render his victim's unconscious
the blades are covered with drugs
also apparently at one point he mutated and just turned into a giant tarantula
well the spider mind did that too so that's fine yep happens more often than you think
oh it happens a lot yeah yeah yeah all right let's start the business
on the tarantula I'll go one I'll go to three three oh oh then I'll go five I'm done
all right five going once five going twice and I'll pick up the tarantula for five yes
yep mm all right let's go ahead and spin the wheel for our seventh time
Corey what was the only your impact the big wheel
And tarantula.
Because I would have done.
I'm like, I don't know what that says.
Yes.
This is what I was looking for.
All right.
Our seventh pick is Fancy Dan.
Two?
Hang on.
You're getting ahead of yourself again.
No, my gimmick is I see the number and then Corey reads at the limit.
And then that's it.
Right?
Fancy Dan's only description is longtime member of the enforcers.
That's all you need to.
He's an armed combatant.
He can punch and kick and flip around a lot.
He's really short if I remember.
I'm really good at punching too, so I don't think that's a good.
His first appearance was in The Amazing Spider-Man number 10 of the enforcers,
and he was in 235 issues, which I'm not mistaken is about 190 issues more than Big Wheel.
Come on nine.
But yes, fancy dame.
You own the Big Wheel.
I do.
What did you start the bidding at?
Two.
I'll take three.
I go four.
Five.
I'm good.
All right.
Five going once.
Five going twice.
I'll take fancy Dan for five.
Remove them from the list.
We were winding down.
We're at pick number eight.
Are you guys ready to spend?
Yes.
John Sam is money for something.
There's still a lot of heavy.
getters on here.
John's like really
being cage you with something.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Our eighth pick is
on.
Why is the next pick,
John?
It's not the green goblin,
that's for sure.
That's correct.
Almost.
God damn it.
I don't think,
I'm going to be honest
to you guys.
I don't think a lot of people
are going to go for the ox.
I mean,
I like him.
I like the ox.
But he's no
being goblin.
Ox, a long time member of the enforcers
and one of the oldest foes of Spider-Man.
Ox, as his name suggests, was the powerhouse of the team.
There have been two people named Ox, and they were brothers.
Oh, I didn't realize that.
Yeah, this will be the first Ox. We'll go with that.
Boy, you've got to get that. If you're getting
fancy that. Yeah. So he's got
some invulnerability. He's super strong. I think he's just
really big, and that gives them that.
But he appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man Number 10,
the enforcers along with Fancy Dan
and he has appeared in 303 issues
I feel like if you got Fancy Dan
you should get the ox right? Yeah
I will say did you did you already start the bidding
with your gimmick? No not yet
I'll do one normally I do
I don't think it did this time did I
No
I think I'll do two
I'm gonna go three
I go four that's it
I don't want to accident me by ox
four going twice
four going to me so I now have ox
as well as fancy dand
yeah
for four
for four
okay
all right is this I think this is pick number nine
so you guys ready to spin
yes
spin that fucking wheel bitch
it's me do my
carah
oh interesting
our eighth pick
the master
well, one of the masters behind the Clone Wars, the jackal.
Ooh, this is pretty good.
Pretty good.
Get off that ox page.
Get into that jackal page.
You got to see the ship.
You're not going to put in a bit?
Should I?
I'm going to say five.
We're off the bat.
Okay.
The jackals, an enemy of Spider-Man who played a big role in both of the clone
sagas.
He has since seemingly returned to infestment.
Manhattan with spider powers for his own sister ends, organizing test subjects into a spider-powered army.
As everybody knows, the jackal is, he's got claws and fucks around with genetics, and he's a green little guy, which, you know, that's not what jackals look like, but hey, it's the name.
His first appearance was in The Amazing Spider-Man number 31, if this be my destiny, and has appeared in 398 issues.
so Dylan you have started the bidding at five
yes
I'll go seven
seven okay
I'm gonna go eight
I'll go ten
I mean I'm
I think I'm on
dude that's a lot
I always spent a lot of money on like
villains
Corey what do you think
I've never really read the clone saga
so I don't really know anything about the jackal
you bitch
I got my education from our episode
We discussed Bin Riley
So we did
I'd like to go listen to that episode guys
I do love the jackal
What are we talking about 10?
Yeah 10
Then going once
Oh man
They're going twice
He's something I have
Tombstone
Tombstone
Tombstone I can't be in my writing
All right
No I'm good
Okay
John you get the jackal for 10
sweet and that means I can clone
that's a good peg that's a good thing
it means I can clone any of the villains that you guys have as well
to uh...
Don't clone fancy down
He's just a short kickboxer
He doesn't even have blades in his foot like tarantula
Nobody wants his rot to though
All right you guys are ready to spin the wheel again
This is our 10th time
So we were halfway through with this
What number?
What number?
11.
No, that was nine.
This one's going to be 10.
No, I mean, what number did John spend?
Oh, John spent 10.
Yeah, once we do this one, we'll do an update on who the teams are and how much money is left after.
So we get to our halfway point.
Okay.
Mm-hmm.
All right, we're spinning the wheel again.
Well, this should be easy.
This should be nice, like, clean cut, easy enough thing to go through.
Corey, you want to tell the people what came up?
It's, well, it was our friend the Green Goblin.
What I enjoyed about that also was that he is right beside the Hobgoblin.
So if it wasn't Green Goblin, it was going to be Hobgoblin.
Yeah, the best Goblin.
I'm not sure about that.
I think that it is.
But we'll talk about it later.
So, Corey, what do you get to talk to us about the...
I'm so good. Comic Vines search is so garbage.
I'm going to say this, man.
John could probably tell us more about the Green Goblin.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You spelled his name wrong.
It's just no.
Norman Osborne.
You can't even spell the Green Goblin.
Yep, I forgot how to spell Green Goblin.
So the amoral industrialist Norman Osborne was transformed by an experimental serum into the
maniacal green goblin and has endured over the decades as Spider-Man's most dreaded
arch enemy. Osborne is known for being
the killer of Gwen Stacy, the architect of the
Clone Saga, and the one-time director
of Shield.
So, of course, he's
one of the heavy hitters. His first appearance was
in the Amazing Spider-Man number 14,
the grotesque adventure of the Green Goblin,
and he has appeared in 2,606
issues. I think he's
so far the character who's had the most
appearances.
Gobble, yeah.
So...
So this is going to be big. Yes.
So, of course, he's a genius. He has the
Goblin Guy, or he has pumpkins, you know, that blow up.
He got those pumpkins, man.
He's very wealthy.
So, real quick, Dylan, you've assembled a team of, like, kind of classic villains for Spider-Man.
So Green Goblin would fit very well on your team.
John, you have the jackal.
And Norman was the guy behind the clone saga.
Now, me, Green Goblin's first appearance, he hired the enforcers to go beat up Spider-Man.
And so, I mean, we all have a green goblin connection.
Yes.
So what are we starting our bidding at?
10.
15.
Oh, 16.
17.
Oh, Corey.
Oh, no, he doesn't fit the motif for me.
18?
You're a real bastard.
That's what they call me.
That's what they say.
20?
Oh, fuck off.
Okay.
Okay.
Green goblin?
Really?
You're giving up the ghost?
Can I just really?
Can I, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Can I just like really quickly remind everybody what you said to me in our older episodes where we did like an auction where you like totally fucked me over a billion times?
Oh, the thing.
I just like really quickly point that out.
here's the thing
I'm gonna take you
that John
I'm gonna be straight up of you
if you put one bid over this
you got it
I'm not
I'm not gonna go further than this
if you make one bid more
I'm done
you have it
what did you say
20
20 I think we're currently
20
I'll go 21 then
you got it
all right 21 going once
I'm on my word dude
I'm not going to...
I know you love the Greek Goblin.
I wanted the Creek Goblin, but...
Dude, come on.
21, you got to spend your money or something.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, but I wasn't fun to spend that much.
All right, so let's do a quick update on...
Let's start with teams.
Dylan, go ahead and run through everybody's teams.
So my team is the Sandman, Dr. Octopus, and Tombstone.
Not bad.
not bad
Corey's team is
Tarantula
The Big Wheel
Fancy Dan
and the Ox
So not that far away
From getting the whole
Team
Right there
Dark Order
Is I'm going to call this group
Well
May as well be
John's team
Is the kingpin
The Jackal
And then the Green Gobblem
Which is pretty fucking good
If you think about
He's got a lot of money
in a lot of intelligence on his side.
If you think about the arch enemies that Spider-Man has had
throughout the years.
One of them is...
Yeah, yeah, like you have to say,
one of them's the Green Goblin,
one of them's the Jackal,
one of them to the...
Kingpin.
Pretty good.
Honestly, honestly God,
like, you've done really well with that.
Like, you had to pay money for it, but, like,
you got the fucking goods.
Yeah, because someone screwed me over.
I fucking paid the right price for Green God.
Gobbley, God damn it.
All right, John, you want to run through everybody's remaining money?
So, I have 59 pounds left to spend.
Dylan has 59 pounds left to spend.
And Corey has 83 pounds left to spend.
My plan is coming together.
All right, we're at the halfway point.
If you still hide your on, I'm going to be fucking
pissed.
I would not dare.
I would not dare.
I would.
Dude, John, 100%.
John just said he would.
I already know
John's gonna fuck me over Hydron.
All right, you guys
ready to spin.
Yes.
All right.
Our next pick is.
What's we got?
Oh.
You know what would be really funny
is if we denied
Corey getting the enforcers.
Pretty good.
All right.
Our next pick is Montana of the Enforcers.
What do we think?
Well, we'll tell somebody's like power isn't one done in this stop, yeah?
Well, we'll do, we'll do.
Yeah, so we know what he can do?
Navigate Comic Vine's terrible fucking search engine.
Would he be applicable to Dr. Octopus?
I don't know.
I mean, he's got a whip that's kind of like a tentacle.
So I already have a Dr. Octopus that would do that.
A long time member of him.
the enforcers and one of Spider-Man's oldest foes.
Montana and his team usually were hired by criminals to do, quote, criminal jobs, as one would suggest.
He's really good with rope and whips.
His first appearance was in The Amazing Spider-Man Number 10, The Enforcers, and he has appeared in 231 issues, which is, again, more than the big wheel.
Anybody's going to win the big wheel, dude.
So I'll start the bidding at one.
two
three
four
five
no I'm not going to do that
because you know at one point
I will get tired
and I'll just let you have it
yep
I'm good man
all right five going once
five going twice
five going three times
I have completed the enforcers
I'm not
I'm not all interested in getting
a member of the enforcers
I was tempted to put him on as a group
but I felt like that would be cheating.
All right, you guys ready to spin once more?
Let's do it.
What do we got?
Come on, Hydro Man.
Not quite.
All right, our next pick is Smyth.
I'm assuming this is Alistair Smyth and not his dad.
I would say, I'll be correct.
Yeah, pretty good.
Pretty good.
talking about Asa Smyth and all
of the accomplishments he's had,
he's been able to make the Spiret Slayers
and
even his son
to be fair, like was able to come up with
like some good shit
himself and a robot, you know?
Did he make his dad
in a robot or was that the TV show?
No, his dad
didn't end up being a robot in the TV show.
I thought he was trying to like
find a way to make his dad
like into like a robot
was not like
trying to find a way to like bring his
dad back to life basically
okay all right
I thought that his
I thought his ultimate goal was to like
make him into a robot because then he would be
like alive forever
no
okay sweet
but he didn't do that in the
TV show
no no
so Alistair Smyth
is a
very intelligent man who created basically a robot,
like kind of a robot body for himself
that includes like these curved blades that came out of his shoulders and stuff.
Very intelligent man,
obviously really good with genetics.
He is currently known as the Spider-Slayer,
and he appeared first in the Amazing Spider-Man Annual Number 19.
So so far, I think he's our latest created character from the 1980s.
Everybody else has been prior to that.
Well, no, Jackal. No, Jackal was 70s because he counted his first appearance.
Jackal was 70s.
Yeah.
All right. Anyone wants to start the bidding on Alistair Smyth?
I'll do two.
I go three.
I mean, four?
Five?
Corey's been very quiet.
Yeah.
I think Alster Smyth might be too big a name for my team.
No one has ever said that before.
I'll go six.
I'm good.
I'm happy.
Yeah, six is too much for me.
All right.
Smyth going once,
twice and two.
I like the idea,
but just like,
I just don't have the money for it, you know?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah,
you guys are at that point.
We have to start conserving.
There's still some heavy names on this list.
Exactly.
All right,
we're spinning again.
So you got,
you get,
I'll just smite through six?
Yeah.
Our next on the list is Dylan.
Hydromand.
Sweet, sweet revenge.
God damn it.
John.
Remember how much I love you?
I'll tell you what.
I'll do a favor for Hydroman if you do me a favor later on.
What's the favor?
Well, I'll tell you when it comes up.
Spider-Man villain with Hydro-Kinesis, the ability of control.
water, often part of teams with vendettas against the wall crawler embodies the literal opposite
of Spidey's other foe, the Sandman.
He has appeared in 342 issues.
His first ever appearance was the Amazing Spider-Man number 212, the coming of Hydro Man.
Corey, what was the guy he just won?
Alistair Smyth.
Cool.
All right.
There's that Todd McFarland image there that Dylan and I were talking about on the very first
Smart Avengers minus one.
So we're going to start the bidding.
Five.
So do we have an agreement then if I
John, I'm going to say
I don't know what your
other guy is.
This is the thing. Nor do I,
but I will just, when I
do know, then I'll tell you and then
you can respectfully
bow out. Is it a goblin?
This sounds like a terrible deal.
Sorry, man.
This could be anyone.
We can't guarantee
that there's going to be any more goblins
picked by the spinning wheel.
John, here's the thing.
We're going to make it a deal
and all you have to do is make the secret
sign, secret signal
out loud.
And I know what the signal is.
You know what the signal is.
You'll make a noise
that I understand.
And I'll be like, all right, I'm going to back off.
Okay?
So are we going to establish what the
Secret noises.
You know what the noise is.
Yes?
Just like Caldillon knows what the favor is going to be.
Correct.
John knows.
John is going to make a noise.
And I'm going to know what that means.
Okay.
The noise is going to sound like this.
No.
Not that at all.
It has to be different.
It has to be a different noise than that.
Okay.
But John.
It sounds like this.
I didn't even hear that.
I didn't.
Was there a noise there?
That was me doing a wind noise, but I was doing it too well.
Do it again.
Do it, but do it into the mic.
Okay, I'll do this noise.
I don't know.
Bamalam.
Yep, great.
There we go.
If I hear that, then I'm going to know, I'm going to step by.
I really hope I don't accidentally say Bamalam now.
But it's hard to like accidentally say that.
But here's the thing.
I'm going to say for Hyderman, I want to put a five right out there right now.
All right.
Okay.
So five going once, twice, and a Dylan.
You're not going to even like, do this whole last fucking thing.
And you're not even like try to fucking know.
Because you guys, because you really like him.
He's your favorite character.
I wanted you to be respectful.
You couldn't even like bid it up.
Dylan, you don't have that much money left.
How much money has?
I make I left.
54 pounds.
That's all right.
Think apartably.
That's not bad, right?
Oh, that's terrible.
So, Dylan, you have Hydroman.
Yes.
Are you ready to spin once more, guys?
Mm-hmm.
What do we got?
What are we got?
Oh, that's a good one.
And our next pick is the shocker.
That's a good one.
Jim Cummings.
Did the voice of Shocker
in the original 1990 TV show.
All right.
Shocker is the Superville and originating
from Marvel Comics.
A self-taught engineer Herman Schultz
create a pair of gauntlets
that produce shockwaves incorporating
to a suit that protects him
from the impact of the blast.
He's the recurring foe of the superhero Spider-Man.
His first appearance
was in the Amazing Spider-Man
number 46, the Sinister Shocker,
and he has appeared in 585 issues.
500.
Yep.
Close to 600.
Wow. That guy gets a rhyme, dude.
I love the shocker, man.
Are you going to start the bidding at one?
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
Eight.
Nine.
Mm.
How much have I could laugh, John?
You have fifty four left.
So I could afford that.
Yeah.
But I also feel like John.
John, let's be honest, I'm saving more money for something very specific.
Which I remind you may or may not be there when the time comes because we have 10 names remaining that are not going to get option.
What number are we at?
I believe we might be at 12 or 13.
Well, no, because the spinning wheel keeps track of the names that are left.
No, I mean, like what's the bid at?
Bids at nine.
Nine.
I guess I'll go 10?
11.
I'm done.
Okay.
No.
No.
All right.
11 going once, twice, and to me.
Okay.
Boom.
All right.
That's a good one.
That is a good one.
I love the shocker, but like more than 10.
I'm like, I don't know if I can justify that.
If I was riding Marvel, I would 100% make the shocker.
to like a big bad, but
I'm not right to... We've got a lot of...
We got a lot of big names left, by the way, guys.
But we have eight spins remaining.
Me and John were saving their money.
John spent a lot of money on
the Green Goblin. Understandably so.
He's a big bad. And I got Dr. Octopus, so like,
me and John are doing all right.
Partably, let me just say with
courieres real quick.
Tarantula,
classically, a huge...
big villain in Spider-Man.
The big wheel,
classically,
big wheel,
classic champion of,
of the film.
Bancidant, Ox, and Montana.
Yeah.
Plastically,
we all know the biggest storylines in
Spider-Man history
for all those guys.
And then,
who is a lot of the shocker?
Alastor Smyth as well.
you get a shocker on smith i believe so i mean to be fair smyth has some good storylines shocker i don't know
right when we get down to 15 remaining um i think it would be fun to just read off the names that are
that are left because those are those are the ones are going to be up for the final five picks
so we're going to spend the wheel now we have eight remaining
you guys are ready to go yes all right so this is our 12 not 12 regardless oh oh oh oh oh oh
and our next pick is mr negative yeah good luck well do we have any all right real quick
mr. negative a man who would later take on the name of martin lee
was given an experimental drug which eventually allows him to control of the control of some type of black electrical energy resembling a photographic negative he has appeared in 236 episodes issues and his first appearance was free comic book day 2007 spider-man number one swing shift so this is our most recent character so far 2007
And yeah, no, he just has like a black lightning and he looks like a photo negative.
So, yeah, we're going to start the bidding at one.
Who is putting the bid in?
Okay.
John.
I don't want Mr. Negative.
I also don't want Mr. Negative.
One going once.
twice in
pretty
cut dry right here
right
all right
we're moving
him from the list
we have seven
spins of the wheel
left
some huge names
on here
by the way
mm-hmm
me and John
are waiting for them
the hobgoblin
Bama
Bamalam
Bamaam
Bamaam
Bamaam
Bamaam
I
I'm going to cut John
right
out of the kindness of my own heart
I just decided
for no reason at all
I'm like you know what
I'm going to put a bit eye
but I'm not going to pursue it
I would put a bit eye
with the hobgoblin
by the way John
Corey you can look up
like hobgoblin history
we've talked about the hobgoblin
before
all I'm going to do is say
number five
and then I'm going to be very quiet
okay
So real quick, though, the hop goblins' first appearance was in the spectacular Spider-Man, number 43, pretty poison.
This actually just might be the first appearance of Robert Kingsley.
He has appeared in 544 issues.
And yes, we've done at least one full issue on the hobbler, or full upset on the hobgoblin.
But he has come up other times.
So the current bid is at five.
Six.
Six going once.
Corey, don't let those.
Twice.
We're way of six.
Come on,
George.
John.
Corey.
The Hobb goblin?
What do I pay for Hydraman?
You paid five for Hydraman.
That's all right.
That's fair enough.
Fair enough then.
All right.
Are you guys ready to spin the wheel?
Yes.
So we're dumb.
We're hopping off.
Yeah.
I am.
All right.
pick is. John, you were lucky. You were lucky that
the Hyderman came up before
Hobgogeland because I would have went to fucking time.
All right. I have no idea. And I
remember that I showed you that mercy, that I gave you the Hobgoblin for five
pounds. Six pounds. Six points. Remember that. That's a
fucking steel. You know, you know this is true. You know, come on man. You know,
Come on, man.
You know that's true.
Hobgoblin for six points.
That's a steal.
I feel aggrieved that I paid one pound more than you did for Hydron.
Come on.
What do you think about Hobgoblin versus Hydram?
Obviously, I love Hydraman.
When was the last time Hydroand was in a fucking TV show?
Never.
He was in the animated series.
When?
We had talked about it in our episode.
He had like two episodes in the internet series.
How long ago was that?
1994.
And then he showed up.
He showed up again in the 2000s for the spectacular Spider-Man cartoon as well.
There you go.
All right.
He turns up all the time.
Hyderman never turns up.
Hydraman was in the storyline with Spider-Man with the superior octopus thing.
That was still like 10 years ago.
Dylan, the only thing I can say is if you really wanted Hydraman, you should have been higher.
I had a deal with John.
Sounds like a real bad deal in retrospect.
No, it's not.
I honored the deal, right?
John, correct?
You did?
Yes?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I honored the deal.
I said, John, whatever you want, I'm on board with that.
It's a shame that it had to be fucking the hot gal then.
But I ordered the deal.
No, right.
Whatever happens is not part of the deal.
All right.
Our next pick, though, is the black cat.
Former cat burglar Felicia Hardy became a crime fighter when she became romantically attracted to and involve a Spider-Man.
Felicia has the ability to instill bad luck around others.
This comes in handy when fighting crime.
So she first debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man Number 1944, never let the black cat cross your path and has appeared in 1,429 issues.
Two? Yeah. I'll go three.
Oh.
I go five. I remember liking her character in the cartoon.
Six.
I don't know if she's more than Hobgoblin worthy, though.
I obviously had to negate my hobgoblin that...
I mean, it's not fair.
The Hobgobgob thing is not fair.
Don't, don't, don't, don't, don't.
but black cat
on a pedestal opposite the hop-goblin it's not fair
make your own
idea please
all right six going once
twice
oh really are we gonna
I'm gonna get the black cat
yeah yep
Dylan you get black cat for six
all right
you sound excited about it
what are we got left I actually thought so many
would bid me
All right, so I mentioned that when we had five remaining names, I would read the 15 remaining characters.
So I've been saying that we've got some heavy hitters on this list.
So let's run through them real quick.
Scorpion, Morland, boomerang, the vulture,
swarm.
Yes, of course.
Yep, of course.
Craven the Hunter.
Okay.
Kangaroo.
Venom.
Yep.
White rabbit.
Okay.
Moulton Man.
Yes.
The spot?
Yes.
Carnage.
Yes.
Mysterio.
Okay.
Camelian.
Yep.
And the beetle.
So those are the remaining 15.
We're only going to draw five more names, though.
Like you said, there's some heavy hitters there, but there's also some busts.
Don.
Can I make a deal with you?
Is this the second time we're making a carnage deal?
Yes.
Two auctions in a row.
If Carney turns up, can we make a deal?
I don't know.
We'll have to wait and see.
What about, how much money have we got left?
Yeah, quick rundown.
You have 48 pounds left.
Corey has 60 pounds left.
And I have...
What?
53 pounds left.
So what was my 48?
Yes.
Can we make a deal where I...
You and me do not, you do not bid more than Cornish for me.
And what's in this for me?
Everything else.
This, I don't know about that.
We'll see.
Corey, everything else, just so many other traditional, like, things to pick.
Scorpion, for example.
No, Mysterio, Volter.
Astero?
Vulture.
Craven the Hunter.
We don't even know if Carnage will come up.
so it's true exactly so it's in your advantage to pick that because you know what's going to come up
no because he could be the last pick and then i wouldn't be able to get my returns on this deal by the
by the last pick you have no money anyway so it makes sense to pick this deal not necessarily
i think so well let's spin the wheel and see who comes up the wheel yeah let's spin the wheel if it's
corny we'll talk about this we'll talk about this this is our five remaining this so our
ass wheel, right?
All right.
And our next pick is
Craven the Hunter.
Oh, dear.
Craven recently showed up
for us as well in our episode of
Best Deaths for Craven's Last Hunt.
I mean, that's going to be,
we talked about Cabin the Hunter before.
We are all fans of Cap and the Hunter
the original Craven.
We're all pretty good fans.
This is tough.
I would say how much
I don't know
so how much have I got left
48 pounds
how much of you get left
53 pounds
how much is Corey your left
60 pounds
so I want to go like five off the bat
okay
Craven the Hunter
a famous big game hunter
who became a mercenary and later
developed an intense obsession
with restoring honor to his name
Craven has been known
as a major threat for Spider-Man
and leaving a legacy
during his demise.
Craven first debuted in the Amazing Spider-Man number 15,
Craven the Hunter, and was around for 953 issues.
He's the only character so far that I've seen as the date of birth.
Apparently, he was born on January 1st, 1918.
So already over 100 years old.
It's looking good for his age.
It looked great.
He also will be the star of a movie that I'm sure is not going to be a bomb.
We're going to watch the film.
We're all going to watch the film.
It's going to be completely out of, oh, no, we have to figure out a way, like, we'll do it with, like, the Deadpool and Wolverine where we know that we're going to see it, so we'll do it real time.
Yeah, we'll watch it and then do a review.
So I said five.
You said five.
I started with five with Dylan.
I'll go six.
Corey.
One of your favorite storylines in the world is Craversus Hunt.
six going twice
Corey
put the number in
Corey put the number in
six
Corey goes as the third pick
you love Craven
the number in one for six
that would be me
he just didn't fit the lineup
Dylan I don't know what to tell you
you
all right we've got four
remaining
spin. Yeah.
Oh, but it's carnage.
We can make a deal.
It's not carnage.
It's Boomerang.
By the way, every time, I know you guys
can't hear, but every time that it's like you have a winner
and there's conveysions up and you hear someone go,
woo! And there's clapping sounds. Yeah, yeah, we don't
get that. That's a shame that you don't
get it because it would make some of these a lot fucking funnier.
Like Montana, woo!
Don't. You got Montana.
Don't buy my fontana.
Now, this, of course, is not Captain Boomerang from D.C.
Or I'd have been really excited.
Would you?
I do.
I love Captain Boomerang.
Former pro baseball player who became a known criminal as the Boomerang.
After fighting towards some semblance of redemption as a member of the Thunderbolts,
he led the seventh incarnation of the Sinister Sith.
Boomerang first debuted in The Tales to Astonish when a monarch goes mad.
The stage is set.
And has appeared in 463 issues.
What?
He's just really good to throw in Boomerang.
rings.
What?
So I'm going to start the bidding off with two.
Three.
Four.
Oh, Johnny got to go out for four.
I'll go five.
Six.
I'm good.
Six going once.
Six going twice.
That's it?
Six.
I'll take boomerang.
So Corey gets boomerang?
Yeah, I get boomerang.
Okay.
All right.
So we're down to our last.
three. Let's do a quick update.
Here we go.
Monetarily, where's everybody?
So, Corey, you have
54 pounds left to spend. Dylan has
48 pounds left to spend
and I have 47 pounds
left to spend. Oh, but
we have the deal.
No, we don't. Do we have the deal? No one's agreed
to the deal yet. No one's agreed to any deal. Me and John have agreed to a deal.
Yes? No.
Correct. We both agree.
to a deal.
All right,
Dylan,
what's our team
lineups looking like?
So my team is
Simon,
Dr.
Octopus,
Tombstone,
Hyderman,
and the Black Cat,
which isn't bad.
It's not a bad team.
You have
Tarantula,
Big Wheel,
Shocker,
Alster Smith,
Mr.
Negative,
and the boomerang,
which is a mixed
bag at best.
And then,
John,
did you get me,
did you give me
credit for all three and four?
Do you get all three of them?
I got all three of them.
I have Fancy Don, Ox, and...
Montana.
Montana, yes, you have the all three of them.
Yeah, good, good.
So let's just write like the enforcers.
Yeah.
Yep.
And who does John have?
John has the kingpin, the jackal.
Hobgoblin.
Green goblin.
and the great goblin
and the great goblins
you have two goblins
yeah I've got a goblin tag team
two goblins
and then
Craven the Hunter
so that's pretty good
all right
we got three spins
and 13 names left
you guys are ready to go
yes
I hope I can get a goblin
oh
hey John
remember we are
It's hard about, like, having, like, a thing together.
Like, maybe we should like...
You know what's happening here, Devin.
I do.
John, have I ever talked to you about how much I love you?
All right.
Cletus Cassidy is a deranged and highly dangerous serial killer
and longtime host to the Carnage symbiate.
He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man
number 344, Hearts and Powers.
and he has shown up in 437 issues.
What have I got left?
You've still got 48 pounds left.
What have you got left?
47 pounds.
Okay.
I could do something really funny here.
Yes, you could.
But because you mean, we got on so well.
I know that you wouldn't do that to me, right?
I don't know.
It would be really funny.
I'm going to say this.
After we throw this auction, what's the highest number that somebody's gone for?
Like what?
That's not even like 20.
It's like 15 maybe.
21.
Someone made me pay over the odds for the green gold men.
Who made you pay that over the odds?
Well, I can't remember.
Was it me or was it Corey?
It was you, I believe.
Well, then in that case, I'm going to go 21.
all right
our bidding starts at 21
that's fair isn't it
it's not fair
25
25 for John
you want to do a little
run down by Carnage or are we happy enough
what's that
oh I've already
want to do like a little one nine
I mean we've already done the rundown
in that you know he's he's the host
of the Carnage symbiate serial killer
I think we could have run down in that
if you listen to the show, you know that I love Carnage.
Yes, that's very true.
The last auction we had also had a deal struck for Carnage, by the way.
But how did that go?
I mean, you won Carnage.
What was the deal?
The deal was that John would not bid over, I think that John would let you win,
but then John started the bidding at a high, at like a 16 pound price.
So you kind of redeemed that by doing 21.
Yeah, you've been even higher.
you bastard.
I was trying to be good for me.
What's the number?
We're at 25, currently.
25?
26.
27.
John, I like you.
You're a nice man.
I'm going to kill you.
I really want carnage.
30.
32.
John, why did you do this to me?
I thought we were friends.
I thought we were cool.
31.
You, what?
Well, no, John, he'd been 32.
33.
Yeah, you'd have to do 33.
I like the mind games just then, though.
35.
36.
I'm just going to have to do it, aren't I?
Yeah.
It seems to be the case.
47.
48.
John cannot go any higher
and I have no interest
so Dylan you get
cardage for 48 I believe that means
Dylan is now out for bidding
yes
we have two more spins
of the wheel
can I just say by the way
yes
fuck you
what the fuck
that was like
that's pure bullshit
just straight up going
like 40
come on man
I'm surprised he didn't start
the vinegar for carnage
like I don't want to be that guy
but I feel like half of your money
entire fucking show
I have a pretty cut and dry
I like you
John you and me have a pretty cut dry
about who we like as in terms of
goblins and who we like in terms of carnage
and I cut you
a pretty like
look back on history
I have cut John a pretty good slack
when it comes to the
the goblins.
Yes?
Yes?
Yes?
Correct.
And then I feel like, oh, I don't know.
John might have
fucked me when it comes to carnage
again and again.
This is not the first time this has happened.
I do think this is the highest bid
we've ever had in any of our auctions.
I'll pay it. I'll fucking pay it.
I love carnage.
Fuck you.
Right.
I love.
I'm not bothered.
All right.
We've got.
I got a carnage.
Everybody else suck.
You can have,
you get a venom.
I have my shit.
I'm all.
I'm done.
Yes,
you are out.
Whoa.
Mike,
my is Dr.
Octopus,
the Sandman,
Tombstone,
Hyderman,
Black Cat,
and Carnage.
I have the best
fucking Sinic Sex.
I fucking win.
I don't be sure.
shit.
What the fuck you want, dude?
I have the best fucking rule.
All right.
We've got two more spins and 12 names.
John, are you ready to go since it's just you and I know?
Yes, absolutely.
Fuck you.
All right, our penultimate character,
The Multim Man.
Oh, we spent all the,
money man
money man
oh but you would
fit so well with your team
Dylan he's gonna pick who you're gonna pick
I don't know man
it's close I can be on the buddy
Moulton man is the stepbrother
of Liz Allen he's had several run-ins
with Spider-Man he was recently cured of his
condition
he debuted in the amazing
Spider-Man number 133 the Moulton Man
breaks out oh no that's when he
died sorry he for his first appearance was
the amazing experiment number 28, the menace of the
Moulton Man, and he appeared in 209
issues.
I will start the bidding at one.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Five.
Six.
Seven.
I love by your exasperate about 40 for the Moldemann.
You were hopping up to go to 40 for fucking carnage.
But I'm a Multon.
I don't know.
I go eight nine okay you can have him all right so our penultimate pick was the Moulton man
just so we know there is 11 names left on the list but only one will be chosen so let's run down
those 11 names we have white rabbit the spot Mysterio chameleon beetle scorpion morland the vulture
Kangaroo. I misspelled kangaroo somehow.
We have to have swarm.
And the last Venom.
So we got some heavy names on there.
A lot of heavy hitters right there.
And there's only one spin left.
Big, big guys.
And I'm all right. I can't pick anyone.
No.
All right.
I'm done.
Nothing I can do about that.
So let's see what the list says.
Our final pick.
I'm going to pick.
Oh.
Oh, is it?
Is the Vito?
Oh, it's a beetle.
Fuck, sake.
I should have.
Scorpion, but Scorpean,
whatever you want.
But it would be like, can we, like,
spin the wheel again real quick?
Yeah.
That's not, that's not the way you want to end the show.
You don't want to end it on Beetle?
No.
John, what do you think?
I mean, I wouldn't be averse to spin the wheel again, but.
I would spin the wheel again, man.
I don't think it's, it's, it's,
within the
I like the
spirit of the game
Yes, correct
I would spin the wheel again
Let's just
We will
The bidding is going to be
On the beetle
But
We'll spin it
Just to see what it
Could have been
Yes
If a beetle
Let me put Beetle back on
Yes
Wait
Wait
Wait
What of what
Destiny
What do we spend
What have we spent
What have we spent
A third time though
it's too late
it's
you're happy the beetle
I guess
I'm going to pick
one of the other beetles here
should I go with the OG beetle
or the most recent beetle
OG
oh yeah
Abe was Abe
good old Mac 5
yes you got to go
growing
growing tired of his mechanic
job Abe Jenkins created a suit
of armor and became the beetle
originally criminally changes
ways as a member
of the Thunderbolts taking the name Mach 1.
A became a mainstay of the group and achieved legitimacy as a superhero.
As he's upgraded his armor, he's changed his name to reflect the version of his armor.
Currently, Mach 10.
So, his first appearance was Strange Tales Number 123, The Birth of the Beetle, The Challenge of Loki.
And he appeared in 613 issues.
So, we're going to start the bidding at 1.
I go five, six, ten.
Hello.
Ten going once, twice, sold to John.
Oh, yes.
So.
You're very happy to get the last guy.
So here we go.
Quick rundown.
These are the names that did not get chosen.
Swarm, the vulture,
Morland, the scorpion, the chameleon,
Mysterio, the spot, white rabbit, and venom.
A lot of really big heavy hitters that we didn't get to.
And the kangaroo as well.
Kangaroo, of course, the most important one.
Yep.
That's true.
All right.
To be fair.
So let me run on.
Actually, I want to do, let's run down the money first.
That way we can see who has the most money remaining.
Well, I know.
I know who has the least money.
I'm very familiar with who has the least money.
Go ahead, Corey.
Tell everybody who spent the most money on Carnage.
Go ahead.
No, I believe that John's job is he's tracking the funds.
John, what's the rule?
What's the deal?
So, Corey has the most money left with 45 pounds.
I'm surprised I have that low amount, to be frank.
You did a lot of small bids.
I did.
37 pounds left
and Dylan
37 pounds is pretty good
I hope I get something pretty close to 37 pounds
Dylan has a whopping
zero pounds left
Why is that John
Because you spent
48 pounds on carnage for some reason
No no but but not because of me
No
You could have let me have them for 47 pounds
Because somebody rears the bid up
To that point
and I had to bid over that.
Isn't that correct?
That's the way bidding goes.
John, I'm starting to think that you meet might not be the best podcast host
because we're very angry about it when it comes to carnage.
Dylan, go ahead and run down everybody's teams.
So my team, Saman, good.
Doc, octopus, good.
Tombstone, pretty good.
Hyduman, of course.
The black cat
Nice, a little bit of variety
You want a woman on the show
And then Carnage
Because I like Carnage
I don't know if I've talked about this
On the show
But I like Carnage
So
Corey's team was
Tarantula
The Big Wheel
Fancy Dan
Ox Montana, aka the whole group
We had
I think Mr. Stenster
Shocker.
Mr. Negative.
Mr. Negative.
What did I say?
Mr. Sinister.
He wishes.
Yes.
Yes.
We have to cut that product.
Mr.
Negative.
The shocker,
Smyth.
Mm-hmm.
One of the smives.
Bremarine
and then Multiman.
Yes.
Yep.
and then John
had the kingpin
but pretty good
Jackal
pretty good
I think you're a bit in shocker for you
but like somebody had the shocker
who's the shocker?
I did.
All right so scrap that
John you have somebody
that looks like the shocker?
Do I?
Apparently so
couldn't mind negatives.
The hobgoblin
that was you
Crabe and the Hunter
Who else do you have?
The Green Goblin and the Beetle
Yes, the Beetle, yes
Doesn't it write down
what the fuck did they write down?
I think that's my shocker instead.
I think it were chocker instead of
a pre-goblin, yeah
but you had like two out of like
three goblins so that's pretty good.
So, right?
Mm-hmm.
I will tell you.
Goblins.
Not the thing.
I feel like I showed you a lot of mercy when I came to say Goblins.
I could have, I do.
I could have been like real harsh when I come to Hobgoblin.
And you and me had an agreement?
Yeah.
You stuck with the agreement.
So fair place.
That was very good of you.
Thank you.
I'm glad that we're on the CMP is when it comes to this kind of stuff, you know?
Mm-hmm.
And Corey, did you have any agreement with us?
No.
No.
No, you didn't.
Me and John were out here making agreements,
and you were just, like, making up your own stuff.
Yeah, my gimmick was really simple.
I knew you guys were going to bid really high for all the heavy hitters,
so I was like, I'll just grab all the jobbers.
That's not true because I got Hydramon.
No, but that was your favorite character.
Yes, he is.
I didn't want to take him from you.
Thank you.
Especially after you made a deal.
Wow, that was part of it, correct.
But we, you know, obviously made a deal.
So, you know, there was a lot more to it than that.
It wasn't just Hydraman.
Yeah.
That's true.
Anyway, that's the way I go.
So I'm glad that me and John could come to an arrangement.
I'm glad that Corey could understand the arrangement that me and John would have and
see it through like a crow, like a raven eyes, you know,
and just like observe it from a far away.
and go, I'm not going to touch that, but I will peck at it.
I like that.
That's nice.
It's observant.
You will, like, happily peck at the corpse of our decisions.
Yeah, the carrion.
Yes.
I'm the carrion.
Exactly.
You're the carrying cross of the podcast.
Kind of boring and forgotten for the most part.
Correct.
I mean, that's, I mean, John, are you wrong?
So real quick, Dylan, the highest bid was Carnage at 48,
and the lowest bid was Mr. Negative at 1, right?
I'm going to say, I don't know where.
I'm going to say, I made the, in retrospect, I made the best call, right?
I mean, we didn't get into Bannum, we didn't get to like a little bother, like, fucking other guys.
Considering the last two names that came up.
Yeah, Multiman and Beetle.
I think Multiman and Beetle.
I think that Carnage was the best peck.
That last five in particular was rough.
Not great.
Because it was just Carnage in the middle and then surrounded by like Boomerang and stuff.
Yeah, but Boomerang did like the sinister foes of Spider-Man.
Yeah, Spear-yer foes.
Superior foes, yeah.
Which, you know, was what it was.
But Carnage.
kill loads of people so there you go got ripped up by the century you got a pick what do you like
do you like a fun storyline or do you like people kidding people i like people people people
well everybody that was our auction you're more than welcome to leave comments down saying who
who who who you think had the best team as well as if dillon if dylan was robbed or not
I was the bad
I had the best
I had the best team
Did you say yes he wasn't
I had the Hygman
and I said he definitely wasn't
No fuck you
You kidding me
I had the best team
Oh
Oh my godblins over there
Everybody gets goblins
Whatever the fuck
Everybody over Gooseby Goblins
I got that different variety
Well no one got goblins aside from me
You got goblins
Yeah no that's what I'm saying
You're saying everyone has goblins
but it's only me.
I say that my team is better than your team
with goblins and up
because you're like all goblins all the time.
My team is not goblins all the time.
Yeah.
I think my team is better than your team.
Oh, well then let me look at my team again.
Oh, fuck you.
Cardage.
I fucking killed it.
Simon?
Are you kidding me?
So real quick, John.
What is your movie count out at
for the year because we are winding down.
I am up to
758.
And I know you finished all of the leprechaun movies,
but what was the last movie that you watched?
The last movie I watched was called The Naked City,
which was
1940s noir murder mystery,
which was very, very good.
Well, there you go. What was it called?
The Naked City.
Okay.
And John, where can they go to find?
Oh, sorry.
There wasn't any naked people in it, so.
What?
Fuck you then.
Yeah.
John, where can people go to see the other 757 movies that you've been watching for the year?
They can find me on Letterboxed at a Big John Bowsky, all one word.
And Dylan, is there anything that you would like to promote?
Not really.
promote how much I love Carnage
and then send it to John
and then let John know that
he made a mistake
that he shouldn't have bid the height
because I love Carnage and he was
a bad man for doing that
just harassed John in his
social media posts
can I say that
am I allowed to say to harass?
I don't think you've given John's ad
out so I think it's fine to say that
yeah whatever
whatever John's Twitter pages, find it, and then harassing,
and then say, oh, you should have been nice to Dylan.
And I'm like, that's me.
And that's the whole show.
I will just reply and say, that's me.
And then that's it.
Other than that, I don't think I have nothing else to say.
I have a book.
You can look at my book.
It's on Amazon.
It's called.
What the fuck is it called?
The wonderful world of Captain Explody, I think, is the name.
You can buy it online.
It's on Amazon.
It's a print on demand thing.
It's full of, like, fun storylines and things that I've written.
There's going to be another one coming out soon.
I think maybe next year, I'm going to make another one.
But that's it.
All right.
And my other podcast is called the Larger.
Old Cup. It is a stream of consciousness podcast where I just record and go. And then where we end up is
where we end up. So until next time. And if memory serves, let me verify real quick. Yes. Verify that.
It's important. Our very, if I'm not mistaken, our very next episode is going to be our Christmas
episode, which we discussed. We should do Christmas. Yeah, we discussed what we were going to do is we
were going to read the very first Clause mini-series that Grant Morrison wrote and do a bit of a book review.
We're going to do that. Yeah. Yeah. So that's something to look forward to. Yeah. And if you would like,
you could go ahead and pick up that first mini-series of Clause, read it, and listen and see if you agree or disagree with our opinions.
Yes. You probably agree with us because we're cool. But until next time, we'll see you later. Goodbye.
Bye.
Bye-bye.
Fuck you,
Carnage.
