Everybody, welcome back to the Mark Avengers. Like you said, this is going to be a follow-up to a previous couple episodes of ours. As you know, we have been drafting teams of Avengers. We had our first draft earlier in the year. A lot of heavy hitters on that list. We had guys like Iron Man and Ant Man and Captain America. People who you think of as like Avengers, first and foremost. And then tragedy struck.

They were on a mission to Krakawa, and they were captured and kidnapped. And then we had to assemble a new team of Avengers to go and rescue them. And they have featured such people like Gilgamesh and Silverclaw and Triathlon and Stingray. And it was possibly one of our worst auctions we've ever done because I'm pretty sure I think I finished with over 50 pounds still out of the hundred that I had to spend. 58 pounds to be exact. That sounds about right. So that auction was a little bit of a rough one because essentially what we discovered is that there was this dark era in Avengers history in the 1980s up until the beginning of the 2000s

where Avengers just had some not great lineups and yeah that they were mightiest heroes back then I think we were screwed pretty much it was not as there was, you know, the Earth's mightiest years. They didn't have to do a lot of heavy lifting. Things just weren't as bad back in the 1980s and 90s, it sounds like. Things were bad, so they had shitty teeth. The reason it was so bad is because they had shitty team members. That's why.

Yeah. So, like I said, these new teams of Avengers, they went to Kroa to save those original team of Avengers that we had drafted. And unfortunately, things fell apart. And they were all captured as well. So, God damn it, we have to assemble. another team of Avengers so oh like what do you expect when your old fucking team was Gilgamesh and 3D man like obviously they're going to get captured

Jesus Christ you know they're trying their best just wasn't very good was their best yeah it wasn't very good so we're at it again we got another hundred pounds each we got another wheel of Avengers uh this time featuring members who joined between the years 2005 up until 2012. So,

previously we had a pretty substantial gap between like the 1970s and the 19, like up to the 2000s. Not a lot of new members were joining and the ones that did were really weak. So this time around we have a lot of people who have joined in a very short amount of time and I'm not going to lie, a lot of heavy hitters on this list.

So, for those unaware, this is going to be traditional Smart Avengers auction rules. We have a wheel that has 30 names. We're going to spend it 20 times. And as soon as the wheel lands on someone, we're all going to take turns deciding if we're going to bid on that person. We all have 100 pounds to our name. Once you run out of money, you are simply out of money and you're out. And we will go until 20 people have been selected. Am I missing any of our official rules?

I think so. No, that sounds about right to me. You may be wondering why we put 30 names on the list and we're only spinning 20. That way, we still have a chance of surprises of people who are big names that don't get selected and small names that unfortunately do get selected, like how Spider-Man was on the last wheel and Triathlon came up. And unfortunately, that means Spider-Man was never drafted. And Spider-Man's not on this list either.

So at some point, we will do a cleanup list where all those people, that weren't selected, we'll be on a wheel, and we'll give him a chance at redemption. But if there's no questions, we can jump into that list. Okay. Let's do it. Well, of course, weird-faced kids in the middle as he always should be. Why is he turned in our house cut? I don't know.

I think it's because we don't have a picture of Baby Juggernaut yet. But just sort of as a precursory look at the wheel, you can see that Marvel did some heavy lifting in the 2000s when they realized that the Avengers were full of jobbers, because you start seeing names like Daredevil and Storm, Captain Burritt and Proper,

Dr. Strange. Like you said, this is a heavy hitter list. This should be a very different auction than the last one, where we're not just sitting in silence waiting for someone to foolishly put a pound on Gilgamesh. So... I love it a lot.

Of course, this is Thaddeus E. Thunderbolt Ross. Traditionally, kind of a villain, kind of an anti-hero, but did join the Avengers officially. All the powers of the Hulk added to the mindset and acumen

of a great military general. Any thoughts on Red Hulk, or should we start the bidding? I believe he was able to like absorb gamma radiation and stuff as well as making his mustache disappear when he turned into a

Hulk. Would have given away who Red Hulk was immediately if he hadn't, wouldn't have. Because remember that was the big thing there. He has thermokinesis as well. Sure does.

She also has pheromone manipulation, bio-electic. energy projection and limited gliding and flight along with being an expert spy and skilled hand-to-hand combatant. Any thoughts on Jessica Drew before we get started? I thought she was an Avengers way before that. Not an official capacity. This is the other spied woman. Yes. So Agent Venom, of course, is Flash Thompson with the alien symbiate, so he has all of the spider abilities. That also grants him the ability to walk again, unaided by prosthetic limbs, with his military training in tow as well.

So you also get Spider-Man, but also with knowledge of how heavy arms and artillery works. Yeah, but imagine you have Spider-Man, but it was a woman. Where would you like to start bidding on Agent Venom? Can we start with one, or was someone like to jump out the gates a little early with something a little more intense? I'll go one. I'll go five. With Iron Fist, you get master martial artists, expert acrobat and gymnast, mystical energy generation, manipulation, and projection, supernatural awareness, invisibility, and intangibility. Also possesses the Iron Fist, as the name would imply. This is one of those characters that existed in Marvel for years and years and years that got the Bendis bump and added to the Avengers and got a stock race for that reason. so any uh opening bid on danny rand can we start at one

I believe he's our first mutant on the draw as well this time. There are a couple of mutants on the wheel this time. So, a very unique power set. Should we start the bidding at one? I'll take one. There's always, there's always a character like this, isn't there? Oh, there's a couple.

The Hickman Avengers run had a lot of heavy hitters, but it also had a lot of just his sort of pet characters that he always wanted to work with. Monifold. I'll go two, just because I feel like his powers are kind of useful. Teleportation is very useful. I go three. I'll go four.

the Iron Man moniker he was also the most dubious of them as he was a coward a liar, a thief, and a bit of a pervert but great at being a spy and doing the job that no one else really wants to do like you said he's been a villain

this is the Hickman era. So, Smasher has a superhuman strength via cosmic radiation absorption, the ability to download additional powers via exospecs, which will be those goggles she has on her face, and flight via anti-gravity flight patches. Should we start the bidding at one?

Secret Avengers number 22 in February of 2012. Captain Britain is Superhuman strength, speed, agility, endurance, durability, reflexes, and senses. He can create force fields, has energy beams, flights, and a genius-level intellect. I believe that this version of Captain Britain is powered by Merlin.

Now, as a point of order, as of right now in the comics, he is not Captain Britain. That would be his sister, Betsy Braddock. He is currently Captain Avalon, which is basically the exact same thing. So, this is your fellow countryman, John. Do we start the bidding at one? I mean, I guess, but with the way things are right now, I sort of automatically not implied to pick anyone who's wearing the flag.
