Panago Pizza presents S.S.D.P.P. The Steve Dangle Podcast with your hosts Steve Dangle, Adam Wilde, and Jesse Blake.
Let's go!
Just drop my headphones.
Steve, you know why I dropped my headphones?
Why did you drop them?
Because I have not lived generously enough.
You see, when you live life generously
It treats you royally
Why not pour yourself and a friend a crown royal
Because we're going to talk about who wore the crown
Why not?
Where we
Why not?
With the help of you
Why not?
Recognize one Leaf player each week
While each show
Who gives it their all in the blue and white
Because it's our town, it's our crown
And it's not about what you have
But what you give
Wow
So let's crown that Leaf that lives generously
By giving it all for the Leafs
And it's brought to you by our friends at Crown Royal
Live generously
Life will treat you royally
Let's get into it
Who's the crown going to starting with one Steve Dangle
What did you guys have for Thanksgiving
Had a nice turkey dinner
Twice
I had two different Thanksgivings
See I was very fortunate
I did not have two turkey dinners
I had the one turkey dinner first
Then the next day going to my parents house
What do I get
Lasagna
And green soup
My crown goes to soup.
Ilya Mikheyev, holy smokes, am I impressed by this kid making Jimmy Howard retire mid-game.
Did you see headlines on Saturday night?
No.
So Ron McClain leads the segment saying, well, you know, Mikheyev, in Russian, Chris Johnson was saying, means soup.
Oh, no!
And Chris is like, no, no, he just really likes soup and he missed it.
What?
Oh, no!
Did that happen?
Yeah, dude.
It's very funny, but it's very Ron.
Ron will take things and he'll go, oh, I'll file that away in the cabinet for later.
And I think he misheard something.
Oh, no.
It was very funny.
No, because I remember I was talking to people.
It was at a family thing.
And I remember just turning and hearing CJ go, I don't know.
He just likes soup.
And I'm like, how did that even come up?
He misses borscht.
Yeah.
Oh, no.
Yeah.
Really good.
Really good stuff.
Ilya Mikheyev, really impressed by this guy.
Knew he had a good stick.
Knew he was a big man every time he stepped on the ice.
Good plur.
I did not know he was as fast as he is.
He sort of took off on that Kapanen flip.
They had no shot.
Detroit, whoever it was, doesn't matter.
They had no shot.
Part of me wonders, and we'll get into this,
but part of me wonders if Kapanen and Mikheyev on the same line
wouldn't be such a bad idea, move Trevor Moore up.
Kerfoot, Kapanen, Mikheyev might be the fastest line in the NHL.
Adam, I'm getting there.
With the way the Tavares line's looking.
I am getting there.
I will go, and I'm going to save producer Jesse for last.
I will go.
I'm going to go out on a limb.
Whoa, which limb?
Both.
Wow.
Full limb.
Go on, the quarter limbs.
Yeah, I went full limb.
And I'm going to say Freddie Anderson.
Okay.
And I'm going to say Freddie Anderson because we saw the game live with Tampa in the Crown Royal seats.
Shout out Crown Royal.
Thank you.
And for the first two periods, especially after the first period, we're like, oh, this could go either way.
Yeah, it was 4-3.
It was 4-3.
Seven goals in the first 20 minutes.
On the Jumbotron, they're showing all the goal scores from the first period.
It took three pages.
Yeah.
To show all the goal scores.
The graphic, for sure.
And the reason I want to give it to Freddie is not just because he had a bounce back game against Detroit,
which, in all honesty, he probably should.
The Leafs probably should.
Detroit's not supposed to be good.
We're supposed to beat teams like Detroit.
Tampa and St. Louis were tests.
They unfortunately lost both games.
But you get the idea.
I have to say I really appreciated Freddie even when they pulled him in the Tampa game.
And that is because Freddie was the only one who decided to play that night.
Right.
After the first period.
He, I mean, the seventh goal was stupid.
He gave it away.
But other than that, he wasn't particularly bad.
No.
No.
Like, on all the power play goals, I'm like, what was he supposed to do?
And the Leafs were particularly bad.
the penalty kill especially so what is he supposed to do the part yeah and what i what i admire about
freddie is he's ice cold like he he you know he yes he let in seven goals he comes in the next
game it's like it never happened yes and yes and you know he got pulled like when i said to you
guys when do we ever see freddie anderson pulled ever it's pretty rare it's pretty rare so when
that happens i mean that that can be damaging for a goaltender and literally being a goaltender
everything's between the years all of them have the talent to be that good not all of them have
it up here it's just it's just they're they're a freak freaky beast and so i'm giving it to
freddie anderson for the comeback win against detroit looking solid as a rock against it with
the team in front of them and again we'll get into this that does not look very solid in their own
end again no producer jesse yes who do you give your crown to well i wonder i don't know i'm
to run down a list of players okay John Tavares very good player struggling but he still has like
five points yeah six games yeah uh Ilya Mikheyev oh what a guy better player than we thought
Trevor Moore oh he could you couldn't ask for more Dimitri Timoshev oh also good his name's
harder Rasmus Sandin I'm Marley now yeah but he hit a guy and it was good Freddie the goat
Oh, my goodness.
Much better skater than we thought.
Way better skater.
One might even call him the GOAT.
Nick Shore.
Oh, he sure impressed me.
Andreas Janssen.
Next.
Mitch Marner.
Has he suited up this year?
Andreas Janssen?
We saw him score!
How dare you?
I know him.
How dare you?
Mitch Marner.
I'm kidding.
Mitch Marner.
He's a guy.
He certainly is.
He's being paid to be more than a guy
Alex Kerfoot
Wicked
He's putting the right foot forward
And Justin Hall
Hall of a player
That was a long list right
It was a long list of players
What do all those guys have in common
They're all Toronto Maple Leafs except for Rasmus Sandin
They played less time on ice
Than William Nylander
There it is
I gotta give it up to the workhorse
You don't usually see a guy
A winger
Out there for 17 minutes and 37 seconds
Shout out
Do often see that
Shout out the kid from Calgary
Who works hard
Good Canadian kid
He's from Calgary
Good Canadian kid
William Nylander
It's funny that of Matthews, Marner and Nylander
Nylander is the second most Canadian
Oh my god
Cause Marner's full Canadian
Nylander's half Canadian
and Matthews is full
Arizonaian
becoming Canadian
you think so
I don't know
I don't care
until he leaves
in six years
and goes to Arizona
no it's less than that
excuse me sir
that's five years
wow
oh they're gonna
extend him a year
and then lose him
I'm a dick on the internet
no one's ever
signed an extension
before guys
he's dropping all the
nuance
no one's ever
signed an extension
they don't exist
they don't exist
they've been outlawed
exactly
but not
William Nylander's grit
for getting out there
for 17 minutes
You know, as I was saying, it's Matthew's Game 7 level amounts of time on the ice.
We were having such a good time.
Hey, listen.
That's Who Wore the Crown for this week.
Brought to you by our good friends at Crown Royal.
Next time the puck drops, why not live generously?
Why not?
And treat your friends and Leafs crew to a Crown Royal old-fashioned.
You can look that up online.
Why not?
Why not?
Why not?
You were having Crown Royals at the game.
You needed to.
I was. You were.
To numb the pain.
I, well, I had one before that.
Yeah.
Well, that was the fun one.
Yeah.
It's, I don't know.
I just sort of wanted one.
Right.
So I was like, ah, I'm at the game, might as well.
And then the second one, I'm like, ah, I'm hurting.
I need another one.
You can always make an excuse.
Sure.
Why not?
Why not?
Why not?
Yes.
By the way, it's always great to see the Leafs lose to a team like Tampa and then have Tampa
roll up the street to Ottawa and get fucking creamed.
I love that.
Oh my God.
Can we just talk about how Ottawa beat Tampa 4-1?
Nemesikov beat them on his own.
Nemesikov's an NHL player.
Yeah.
It's a rare thing in Ottawa.
I still stick by they're going to get more than a fourth for him at the deadline.
You think so?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
That was a smart trade.
Yeah, it was smart.
It was smart.
Adam's still not buying it.
Also, shout out Columbus Day, even though he was the terrible human being, apparently.
Most people back then were pretty terrible.
Yeah.
I think we have to keep that in context.
Yes, he did terrible things.
But the people who funded him were terrible people.
His government was terrible.
Everybody was terrible.
They were terrible.
Human beings were awful.
As the only Italian in the room, I'm going to say you don't have to celebrate Columbus Day.
You don't.
I think it's okay if we skip over that.
No, I think not.
We don't need to celebrate Columbus Day.
I'm just saying that he was terrible.
Everybody was terrible.
Is it Columbus Day here?
No.
No, no, no.
No, we don't.
Columbus doesn't have anything to do with us.
It's Thanksgiving Monday.
Okay, that's always bugged me.
So there's Thanksgiving Sunday and Thanksgiving Monday?
Yeah, because it's a stat holiday.
I thought it was just called...
It's Thanksgiving.
It's just Thanksgiving Sunday and then Thanksgiving Monday.
Anyways, I was just saying...
I want a Thanksgiving remix.
Shout out to Columbus Day because they gave us afternoon hockey.
Buffalo's playing Dallas right now.
Oh, is that why?
That's why the Devils blew a 4-1-1 lead today.
Yes.
That also happened.
Oh, yes, that happened.
That's why Taylor Hall, kids, is the number one trending topic.
Yes.
In Canada right now.
In Canada.
Really?
Yes.
The Devils are unbelievable right now.
Jack Hughes is number two.
Stern first.
Jeremy Renner, for some reason, is trending again.
Jeremy Renner, who...
Oh, is he coming with another app?
No.
Who, Hawkeye?
Yeah, I don't know why he's trending, but it probably fired that app back up again or something.
Anyway, Jeremy Renner, Taylor Hall, and Jack Hughes are all trending right now.
Oh, boy.
Yeah.
What is the Devils' record?
That's a really good question.
Like, one and five?
One and four?
They have the OT loss to Edmonton, so they have a point in there.
Okay.
They are zero, four, and two.
Oh, my God.
They don't have a win?
They have two points.
No.
Because they blew that Oilers game, and they just shit the bed towards the end, and they
gave it up.
Well, and they blew a four-nothing lead to Winnipeg, and they blew a three, sorry, four-one
lead to, who was it today?
The Jets?
Yeah.
The one that happened right now
It was to Florida
Florida, sorry
They lost 6-4
Yep
Dude, get a goalie
Adam was right
We were talking about that before the show
I was like, oh, they're going to look so much better
You're like, who's their goalie?
I go, Corey Schneider
And who's behind him?
Mackenzie Blackwood
Off-air, after last episode
We were talking about how Vancouver won the Corey Schneider trade
They did
Yeah
Yeah, they did
They got their captain out of it
Now, I'm a little ticked
because I accidentally auto-drafted Beau Horvath.
I was trying to pick someone else, and he came up.
And it was like, everybody was like,
wow, that's great, what a great pick.
And then he hasn't scored at all.
Oh, has he?
He has two assists this year.
So I put him on IR and put in...
Travis, connect me instead,
because he's been on an absolute heater.
Is Horvath hurt?
No, he just is not playing well.
You can't put him on IR?
You mean you put him on...
Wait, you put him on the bench or on waivers?
There's IR and then there's bench.
So you put him on your bench?
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
I also have, like, Nate Schmidt, and he's on IR.
You also drafted Damon Severson strictly to spite Rachel Dory.
Yes, I did.
And he stinks.
Oh, really?
Because he's on the Devils.
Oh, because he's on the Devils.
Well, and the guy, do you remember the guy you wanted instead of Bo Horvath?
No, I don't.
Nico Heischer.
Ah!
But he's on the Devils!
I know, but there was either way that was going to be a bad pick, is my point.
That's why I'm eyeing.
Poor guy.
Ah!
But you know, Severson was, like, your second last pick.
So here's the thing
The New Jersey Devils
Are bad
But are they bad?
Yeah
Cause like
Six games ago we were all like
Well the Devils look much improved
Six games was before they played
True
However
Teams start slow
Teams have bad starts
You're in
It consumes your entire season territory
Six straight
man six straight so you're saying right now on columbus day which we shouldn't be celebrating
anyway i don't because the man was awful no with second thanksgiving on thanksgiving two
part two now with more turkey whoa um you're saying that turkey strikes not too early return
of the turn of the bird thanksgiving two lost in new york
Mike, you're saying right now we can definitively call the Devils bad six games in.
No, I didn't say that.
That's why I said they're bad, but are they bad?
Adam.
They're bad now, but are they bad for always?
Adam.
How many power play goals does New Jersey score?
Now, you know that I don't know the answer to that question.
The answer is zero.
They have a zero percent power play.
Oh, my God.
Things are tough
In New Jersey right now
So
It's super duper dumb
Early however I do feel
Like there are certain starts
That have the potential
To stick with you all season
They're not guaranteed
And I think it works both ways
You start 0-4-2
And blowing the leads that they've blown
That has a potential to stick with you
All season and all of a sudden
That becomes the devil's season
Similarly, a 5-0 start I think can stick with you all season from a confidence standpoint.
Anyway, seven goals in five games even could stick with you for the entire season.
I am talking, of course, about the team that I've always thought was good,
never not once did I ever criticize them, the Edmonton Oilers.
Oh my god. Outrageous.
Now, we gotta stay off the Oilers for now.
Oh, we do?
I'm not going to the Oilers yet.
That's a deep dive.
Yeah, we are going to deep dive.
We're hitting New Jersey, then we'll go to Edmonton.
We'll talk about the Leafs, but let's talk about the real stories here.
We probably should do the Leafs.
Yeah, we'll talk about it.
But if the Devils are going to turn this around,
because what I'm seeing right now, I'm just looking up Taylor Hall trending in Canada.
So here are some of the tweets.
I'm just going to read it randomly.
We're gearing up for the playoffs.
Oilers John, at Oilers John, feel bad for Taylor Hall.
I feel bad for Taylor Hall's career.
We've been robbed of Taylor Hall in the playoffs.
Dude, legit though.
We have.
Like, he's been there one time?
Yeah, five games with the Devils against the Lightning.
The year he won MVP.
Somebody tweeted, Taylor Hall retired and became my coach in franchise mode.
The worst part is that this is the last year New Jersey has to convince Taylor Hall to stay.
Not off to a great start.
On Twitter, will Taylor Hall be on the same team come, one, Thanksgiving, which is American
Thanksgiving, two, turn of the calendar year, three, trade deadline, four, end of the season.
And this guy's a Devils fan.
I am starting to have huge doubts about the first one at this point.
What do you think?
What do you get for Taylor Hall?
Mid-year, when everyone's out of their mind.
Might be able to get a goalie.
Oh!
No.
Do you even want one?
Because at that point, you're just committed to sucking.
Oh, boy.
You are eventually going to need a goalie, though.
Yeah, but if you're trading Taylor Hall, you're going for picks and futures, right?
You know...
You're not looking for anything now.
If you're one of the goalies that was sent to the minors, one of the goalies who was in the NHL last year and was sent to the minors through waivers this year, are you hoping to get traded to the Devils?
Probably.
There's a great opportunity there, potentially.
Mm-hmm.
Oh, it's so bad.
Would the Devils get more for Taylor Hall mid-season than the Sens got for Eric Carlson?
Yes.
You think?
100%.
Yes.
Oh, boy.
The Sens were at a disadvantage when they had to.
Now, the Devils are too.
Sens also might get the first overall pick somehow.
Yeah, that's some weird set.
Imagine after all that shit last year.
I think you could.
I think you could.
It's hockey.
It's stupid.
You know what's funny, though, is that I wonder if Taylor Hall gets traded, does he really get traded?
To the Leafs.
If he gets traded, is it to a powerhouse, or is it to a middling team that might make the playoffs?
Because to me, in basketball, it's like, oh, you're a superstar?
Well, you're probably going to join LeBron.
Yeah, you'll go to another superstar team.
Right, exactly.
Or a team where there's more than just you in the superstar category.
Whereas in the NHL, it's like, wow, this really great player got traded from this bad team to this other bad team.
We'll see if he can make this bad team better.
That's the way that seems to happen.
It's like the Kessel of Arizona deal.
Yeah.
So where is Taylor Hall going to end up?
In all honesty, who's the team, A, that's got the assets,
and B, can hopefully, if they're going to give up the assets, convince them to stay long term?
I'm trying to, it's funny, I'm going through my head.
I'm like, okay, who's good but can't score?
It's not a long list.
You know what I mean?
Dallas comes to mind.
Oh, man.
But they haven't been good.
That's what they need.
They need more goal scoring in Dallas.
Well, they haven't been good.
Because they've been horseshit.
Plucking horsefoot.
That's right.
Even.
Imagine they get both Taylor and Tyler after all that fuss.
True.
After all that fuss.
Yeah, one and two.
Should it be Taylor or Tyler?
I remember that debate.
It was a good debate.
I love the draft debates that seem so tight at the time, and then time reveals, no, yeah, that one.
Yeah, that was the one.
That was the one.
You were correct.
Can I throw something out there?
I think I have the correct answer.
I got one, too.
I'm sitting on their cap-friendly page right now, because they have futures.
They have cap space.
I'm going to fight you right now.
They have a city that never sleeps and speaks a different language.
The Montreal Canadiens.
Oh!
Wow!
Oh!
You know.
Oh!
What they don't have, though, are great prospects to offer.
Sure, but they have lots of picks.
They have four fourth-round picks, two seconds.
You're losing Kakeniemi in that.
Kakeniemi, Nick Suzuki, Ryan Poehling.
One of them.
You know what I mean?
Kakeniemi's not a prospect.
He's a player.
Oh, who's the American?
Cole Caulfield?
Dude, they have great prospects.
You think so?
They're some prospects.
Montreal's setting up to be a wagon.
What I mean is that, are they ready?
Because New Jersey, if they're trading them,
New Jersey needs players now, too.
Oh my god, Taylor Hall.
Taylor Hall and the Habs, I think,
is actually a really good fit.
Really? Yeah.
He plays with the intensity that they do.
Slide right into the lineup.
And he would catch fire, too.
Oh my god, it might happen.
I think there's a better fit.
Deleuze. Not Deleuze, no.
Deleuze would be a terrible fit, actually.
Although, if it's Taylor Hall,
I think you make room.
Who do you think?
Go for it.
I want to see Taylor Hall return to Alberta with the Calgary Flames.
Oh, man.
All right, now who goes in that deal?
It's like a fourth rounder.
Yeah, right.
No, I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm just throwing it out there for fun.
For fun.
Could be fun.
To watch all those Edmonton Hards break instantly.
Sales for Adam Larson jersey skyrocket.
We support our own.
You know what we should do?
We support our own.
We should bring in a PS4, and whenever we wanted to trade things, we'd fire up NHL and we'd try out the trades.
Oh, that's a really good idea.
That's a pretty good idea.
Yeah, that could be like the segment.
Would it work?
The whole thing.
Will it trade?
Will it trade?
That is the question.
Will it trade?
That's a YouTube deep dive.
I think we should do that.
Will it blend?
Yeah.
Yeah. I think if this person could put down the fucking phone on July 1st, this team would be perfect for him.
Oh, here it is.
The Vancouver Canucks.
Yes.
I think they have the assets. They do not have the space.
But they could offer a few players that could at least fill a role in New Jersey.
Don't say Oli Ulevi.
I'm not saying Oli Ulevi. I'm sure you could say that.
They do have two really good goalie prospects, though, in Demko and...
Di Pietro.
That is why I didn't think Montreal had the prospects,
because, not because Montreal doesn't have a great prospect,
but because Demko is the goalie of the future.
And Markstrom is the goalie of now.
Yes, he's very good.
He's way better than I thought he would be.
Very, very good.
Yeah, I think everybody had kind of given up on him.
And if you played with him, like, seven years ago in NHL,
I think his reach was, like, 95.
He could have gone up to 95.
It was huge. Him and Robin Lennar were two promising young Swedish goalies, like at the World Juniors and stuff, who just took a while.
Yeah.
They took a while. Ah, they're cooked. And they both had their best years last year.
If you are Jim Benning, and you really want to make a splash, you probably can roll some of, you might be able to pull off a Tanner Pearson and something else, and Demko.
You don't want Pearson in that deal
If you're the Devils you might
Just because you're trying to fill space
No, they're already there
They're already at fill space
Eventually
I'm not saying the trade happens now
But they need a goalie
And if Taylor Hall is not going to sign there
And they know that by Christmas
I know the shows are only one show apart
But I think there is a big difference
Between me being a dick
And writing off the Penguins
literally just because they lost to the Jets once
and the Devils losing their first six games.
Right?
There is a difference there.
Well, yeah.
I mean, there's a bit of a longer sample size.
Of course.
Not much, though.
Still six games.
What if someone...
Oh, God, where's the tweet?
It was a really good one.
Canucks fans, by the way,
are not going to like me for the Thatcher Demko suggestion.
That sentence was far too long.
It was.
Canucks fans are not going to like me.
Yeah.
Or us because of where we live
Fair enough
Samuel Turpach
I like all your albums
Turpach
They are this year's blues
He said
They will fire Haynes
Give Dennehy a head coach job
I guess that's their minor league goalie
I'm not sure
And win it
That's how it works
Man
I mean
The thing about blowing leads
Is you had leads
I don't know.
If they had a goalie, who knows?
Is it Domingue?
DeSmith?
Hey, you know who is Vegas' fourth goalie at the moment?
Garrett Sparks.
He just needs an opportunity, man.
Just needs an opportunity.
That's wild.
They called up Oscar Dansk instead of him.
Is he hurt?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't...
Listen, man.
The Garrett Sparks thing has become like a political issue on Twitter.
Are people still talking about it?
Yes.
Why?
What about Antoine Bebo?
He never got a fair shake.
He was just traded like a month ago.
No, I think Garrett Sparks is like hot button with Leaf fans for some reason.
There are people that are like, he was never really given a fair shot in Toronto.
Oh, you know who started this?
Jordan frigging Bennington.
Was that who it was?
Why?
Because they're like, because he grew up a Leaf fan and it was his first time playing
the Leafs, I think, or he grew up in the GTA anyway.
And who are your two favorite Leaf goalies?
And he goes, Garrett Sparks and Curtis Joseph.
Did he really say that?
Yeah.
They're the same age.
So he's trolling.
So I think they're friends.
Okay.
He's trolling.
I'm upset.
Because he...
I think they were in the same draft, I want to say.
Yeah, I think he was probably saying that because he knows how Leaf Twitter works.
Right.
They played in the OHL together.
He was with Owen Sound and Sparks was with Guelph.
I appreciate that comment.
That's pretty funny.
That's funny.
I like that.
That's pretty funny.
The thing is, they've got to make a choice soon.
The word is that John Hines may be out, but I don't think you can put this on John Hines
in New Jersey.
I think John Hines is a good coach.
It's really, they need a goalie and they need one now.
I don't think you trade Taylor Hall to get that goalie.
I think you've got to find another way, and I don't know how they do it.
Could be a little bit like Columbus when Bobrovsky decided to be the worst goalie in the league for two weeks.
Yeah, and Todd Richards lost his job.
Literally two weeks.
And then he's like, oh, okay, never mind, I remember.
Oh, I remember.
And they got John Tortorella out of it.
They've got a really good, solid, young defense core besides, obviously, P.K.
P.K. is not young anymore by NHL standards, but he's incredible.
They have an embarrassment of riches on the right side.
Crazy. Crazy.
Votnin!
Severson!
Kusev!
No. Not so much.
There are things you can do.
And if I'm New Jersey and I really want to commit to getting Taylor Hall,
If you're New Jersey, you're looking for something like what the Leafs gave up to get Freddie Anderson.
You need a team with a 1A, 1B, and they want a first-round pick for it.
And who's got that?
We were talking about trading Taylor Hall.
What do you get for him?
I would hope you get a Thatcher Demko-type player.
Firsts are worth more this year, man.
I know, but you've got to find that goalie.
You have to.
No, you can't start your season with six straight losses and give up your first-round pick.
That's insane.
Do you give up other shit?
I don't know.
First-round pick?
That's a little crazy.
First-round pick who might turn into something.
Taylor Hall who is something.
It could be Alexis Lafreniere.
Lafreniere.
Okay.
Whatever.
And again, Taylor Hall is tangibly a great hockey player.
And you're trying to keep him.
Who might be good, good, good.
No, but you're trying to keep him.
Oh, if you're the Devils.
You're the Devils.
Okay.
So you're suggesting the Devils trade away.
I'm suggesting the Devils might want to part with their first-round pick and find a damn goalie.
To save this season.
I don't know about that, Chief.
Oh, boy.
Okay, if they did have a good goalie, if they did have a good goalie, this is already a different season.
Maybe.
I mean, they need to score some fucking hard-play goals.
They've also been very bad offensively.
Sure.
But that will—I feel like that's a cold streak.
If I were a turkey, I'd be covered in gravy.
there's a lot of ifs flying around there adam so that's tough but here's the problem if you're
new jersey and you lose taylor hall and you keep your first round pick you have no guarantees that
first round pick's turning into taylor hall ever this one is i know what you're saying no guarantee
you're getting him i know i know here might be that but what i'm saying is what if new jersey
drafts 10th that can happen there were a couple bad years where in 2011 there wasn't even like a
consensus first overall pick it ended up being wait did i say 2010 2011 it ended up being nuge
in 2012 yakupov sort of the consensus first overall nuge is a great player i wouldn't say
he's like superstar no first overall pick caliber yakupov is obviously over in europe yeah
nine times out of ten you're getting a player that's worth it and this year is particularly
special. Right, but you're talking about
waiting and losing Taylor Hall
on a
20% shot
at first overall. Are you guys
serious? Have you also looked at the fact that
New Jersey already doesn't have their
second and third round picks? Why?
So you're not going to pick until... Oh, Subban!
Subban. Oh!
So you're not going to pick until the fourth round.
Goddamn Nashville!
You're not going to pick until the fourth round.
I hate David Poyle.
Oh my god.
Those guys, man.
oh stop it stop it so okay so then no no so then you're trying to sell me on this
you've traded your second and your third pick yeah and you're not going to trade your first
because you don't want to lose it to get the thing that you need to get to get your team
to be successful to keep this the guy who's a bona fide superstar i'm sorry
shit or get off the pot go in or don't oh it's such a risk and they went in well you think
You're Ray Shiro, man.
You'll get picked up somewhere else.
It's okay.
You know he is right.
Pittsburgh started losing.
Ray Shiro lost his job.
Now he's the GM in New Jersey.
And guess what?
He'll be a GM again.
Peter Shirelli's working right now.
Right now.
Dave Otis, right now.
Less than a year after putting Ken Holland in a...
Well, Ken Holland is currently an undefeated GM, actually.
The NHL is the most environmentally friendly league for general managers.
They recycle, they recycle, they recycle.
Ray Sherrill will work again
A lot of people would argue it's a little bit more like compost
I would agree
Are we sure that Cory Schneider is a bad goalie?
I think he's an injured goalie
Okay
His health hasn't been right for
Two and a half years
And now his hip's hurting again
And that was the thing that was bugging him this whole time
It's not that he doesn't have the skill
It's that his body's not holding up anymore
It doesn't seem that way anyway
Oh, shoot.
So you know what we've done?
What have we done?
Yes, New Jersey should trade their first-round pick.
Actually, no, they don't even need to.
Oh, because of the...
Cory Schneider's about to win the Vesna Trophy.
Oh, because of the...
And the Devils are about to win the President's Trophy.
Right, like the Penguins are.
But they'll be contending with Edmonton and Pittsburgh
and every other team that we've written off in this podcast
over the past few weeks because we're stupid.
Imagine having one good week and thinking that your team's good.
Well, imagine having one bad week and thinking your team is bad.
You should trade a first-round pick.
I think they need a goalie.
I said at the beginning of the season they need a goalie.
They have too many talented players for them to be this bad.
I'm excited to see.
You don't want to talk about Edmonton yet.
Well, let's talk about Edmonton.
Yeah?
Yeah.
James Neal.
The real deal.
Oilers fans have been actually very contained.
Because they're winning.
No, no, no.
It sure is a lot easier when they're winning.
But you've got to go on your friggin' Jeremy Piven with a Nerf gun,
whatever that show was.
I can't even remember.
Entourage?
Yeah, Entourage.
I never got into it.
I never watched it either.
But I've seen the clip.
They've limited it to Flames fans, I've noticed,
because of the James Neal trade.
They could have had that in the summer, though.
That was a bad trade the moment the GMs called each other.
Yeah, but we didn't know it would be this bad.
That's true.
Come on.
We didn't know.
We knew James Neal was going back to 20 goals this year.
Come on.
He's, yeah, 20 goals by what?
American Thanksgiving?
He's got seven!
The fact is, we knew it was a win right away.
A clean win.
Easy.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
So it's limited to Flames fans now?
Oh.
Oh, it's already.
It's already.
It's already spread, man.
It's starting to.
Is it?
It's starting to.
And honestly, I can't say I blame him.
I'm okay with it.
I can't say I blame him.
I don't take abuse from any other fan base as bad as theirs.
I can't say I blame him.
I would, too.
It is going to be funny seeing who comes out of the way.
Ah-ha!
Wait, you were in my mentions saying, what?
We know their shit.
And that's why you were complaining.
What do you mean, ah-ha?
You're stupid, too.
That's the thing about Oilers fans.
They're like, yeah, we're bad, but don't tell us we're bad.
And then it's like, hey, you said we were bad.
And then it's like, well, no, but you said you were bad, too.
Everybody thought you were bad.
No, have you ever looked at the complaints and gone, wait, what do you want?
Ryan Gosling, what do you want?
It's the truth.
And the answer is for everyone from the greater Toronto area to shut the fuck up.
Right.
And they're doing that.
Except for Conor McDavid.
He's from the greater Toronto area.
By the way, how great is it that the best player on Edmonton's team, staunch Maple Leaf
fan growing up.
Is from the best province.
And it's from, clearly, the superior products.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, we read them good here.
We sure do.
New Market, Ontario's own.
Connor with Jesus.
Yeah, I always knew Jesus...
Enjoy the export, folks.
I always knew Jesus would come from Toronto.
Yeah, oh, my God.
Of course.
That's what that gravitational pull is, by the way.
How you feel like it's the center of the universe.
It is.
Yeah.
It is.
Look at where it birthed.
It's like, you know, Jerusalem was sort of central for a really long time.
It's Toronto now.
Connor McDavid in a manger, I believe, is the carol that people sing at Christmas.
Yes.
Edmonton, by the way, is doing it with two goalies, which is interesting.
Yes, they are.
I don't think they have a choice.
Yeah.
I think this was the plan.
What, like $5.5 million on those two goalies, too?
Yeah, which, I mean, compared to most teams in the league, it's not a lot.
As long as they perform, it doesn't matter.
Yeah, well, and playing them evenly gives them a better shot at performing
Yep
And Mike Smith already did this last year, basically
How about Big Save Dave in Calgary?
I know
I thought he used to look great
I know
But, I don't know, right now the Oilers are doing what they gotta do to survive with what they have
And they are not just surviving, they are thriving
They've put James Neal in a position to succeed
James, how about you stand in front and just tap pucks in?
That's what he's doing.
That's what they needed last year.
And everyone's like, oh, they're playing Connor McDavid and Leon Dreisaitl too much.
Well, I don't know.
If I was the coach, that's what I'd do.
What are they supposed to do?
We should probably be playing Tavares and Matthews too much.
Yeah, I know.
Probably.
Like, oh, McDavid and Dreisaitl are going to wear out by game 40.
Yeah, but what if they don't?
Whee!
What if you have a huge lead at that point and you just play 500?
Yeah.
Which is what the Leafs have done since what you said, last January?
Right.
Yeah.
December.
I've been playing 500 hockey since January, since 2018.
No, it's great.
Somebody even said, like an Oiler fan tweeted me and was like, you know, Oilers have won
five straight Ducks.
And I'm like, why are you ducking?
Don't duck.
Oh, Ducks?
Yeah.
Say it with your chest.
Be proud.
We want this.
We've said that.
We want McDavid in the playoffs.
I just don't think...
I want McDavid in the playoffs.
That's where I will leave it.
That's fine.
That's more than...
Do you think Edmonton fans give a shit if they see Matthews in the playoffs?
Absolutely not.
No, of course not.
I don't think they care.
They've also been thriving on the special teams, which has been amazing.
Yeah, they're second in the league in penalty kills, second in the league in power play.
Their penalty kill's at 94.1%.
I have, well, that's amazing considering what it was a few years ago.
Right.
Remember, they had a historically bad penalty kill.
Was it 55%?
They set the record, the NHL record.
I forget what it was.
It was down near 40 or something.
Or 30 or something stupid.
I can't remember what I was going to say.
Totally forgot.
Couldn't have been important.
Couldn't have been as important as Edmonton winning.
Again, so, I'm going to ask you guys,
I'm going to ask you the same question I asked you about the Devils.
The Oilers are good, but are the Oilers good?
They've been good.
Are they good?
So, some people would argue not because they are relying on their special teams.
unpopular opinion because i mean even strength is what matters the most it's when most of the
game is played and marner's got five points in six games but none of them are at even strength
and that's unacceptable and all this stuff and i'm like you know what penalties went up last
year didn't they yeah it sure seemed like it goal scoring went up i don't think that's a
winky dink. I don't know what percentage that contributed. Power plays and penalty kills are
super damn important. And I'm not gonna hold it against a team too much if they're relying on their
power play and penalty kill to get things done. Now, if it's something like they have a top five
power play in the league and their bottom five in possession, five on five. That's a bit of a red
flag isn't it but it's a it's not a reason to sorry that's a red flag but it wouldn't be a
reason to discount the power play points they've accumulated yeah you take you take special it's
just it's just indicative of a scary trend it doesn't mean that the power play is not great
and that's not a great thing and it could be concerning come the playoffs because they just
wipe their bottom with the rule book um every mid-april something like that okay fine but at
least you're there you're at the dance yep we were at the tampa game the other day special
teams seem pretty important.
Tampa's first three goals
were power plays. Seems pretty
but yeah, without the power play
take away one of the Leafs goals and three
of Tampa's, it would be
3-1. No,
2-1. Leafs would have been leading.
In the first period. And if I had wheels, I'd
be a wagon. Yep. You know,
it's super damn important
and I'm not a big fan
of writing off
special teams. Last year, Leafs
versus Bruins.
If it weren't for that damn power play
versus that penalty kill
with the guy with no knee.
Might have gone differently.
Didn't.
If I was a tree, I'd be covered in decorations.
So that brings me to, there's actually a
I did have Edmonton fans going like, well
you know, they made that exact same
argument. Like, we're kind of riding a heater on
on our special teams. Because their goalies
haven't been particularly strong.
I think they've just been playing well.
They've just been average.
There's not in the middle 908, 914.
But to that point, Leaf fans are sort of in the same realm right now with how the team's performed here.
They are unanimously miserable.
I don't know what you're talking about.
Well, what I mean by that.
Unanimously across the board miserable.
What I mean by that is, Oiler fans, or at least the ones that I've been talking to, are like,
okay, yeah, but we're keeping this in perspective.
Yeah, we're sort of enjoying it, but we're waiting for the other shoe to drop because Oiler fans, they've been hurt.
Leaf fans, we've been hurt.
And I actually saw someone tweet that they could not enjoy the game against Detroit
because the top two lines didn't play well.
Which is insane.
And that's how I felt after the first, to be honest.
We finally have a bottom half of this team.
And I mean specifically the fourth line.
That is great.
They have five lines.
They have been a struggle.
No, no, but that fourth line especially, especially at center,
has been such a struggle the last three years.
How many second-round picks did they lose?
Boyle, Placanitz, like stupid, bad, bad trades.
Guys that are barely in the league or not in the league at all.
And who'd they get?
Nick Shore and Spezza for nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing.
And they pay them nothing.
Nothing!
And Nick Shore gets his first against Detroit.
And this is the part about hockey that I think people,
you gotta just pull back for a second.
Hockey is a team sport.
I know that you know that.
However, your top lines are going to go cold.
They're going to be shut down.
They're going to be stopped.
And sometimes it's really good that the depth on your team takes over and goes,
don't worry, we got it tonight.
Or don't worry, we got it over this five-game stretch.
What's wrong with that?
You're going to need that.
Why are we upset about that?
Well, and the shots at the end of the game were 41-27 Leafs,
which I would call pretty dominant.
Terrible.
If you're Detroit, what is your game plan?
Your game plan is throw all of your defensive efforts
At those first two lines
Yes
And you hope that the bottom two don't beat you
Right
But the great thing about the Leafs
Is the bottom two will beat you
Exactly
And they did in this game
With all their scoring
And the two goals that the Red Wings scored
Both arguably fall on the team's youngest player
In Rasmus Sandin
Detroit got Rasmus Sandin sent down
It seems like the expectations
especially on Twitter are just out of whack
because if the top two lines
don't have a good game but the Leafs win
it's disappointing because
they didn't have a good game but you can't expect
players to have good games
for 82 games. That's unreasonable.
And I don't even think they were
I think the problem is so much
is expected of that line and it ought to be.
Sure but don't
put it to the point where it's unreasonable.
They have to be expectations
but in the stratosphere of hey
this is a human being.
And not just an algorithm or a video game where it's, oh, you're this number,
and every time you go out there, this is what you're going to put out there.
And they're being targeted by the best players on the other team.
Yeah.
And the best players on the other team are also pretty good.
And finding things to get angry about.
The first line of your choice is good.
Why didn't anyone stick up for Sandin when Ablocator hit him?
And when I saw that, I thought it briefly, too.
Here's what I would say.
It was still jump ball at that point.
It was a tight game.
Who on the Toronto Maple Leafs would you send to fight Justin Abdelkader, who is worse than Justin Abdelkader?
Name a player on the Leafs.
Yeah, I wouldn't take a trade-off on that.
I'm not sending Timoshev to fight friggin' Abdelkader, okay?
No, he's been a—
Is Nick Shore worse? Are we sure?
And is Nick Shore going to throw the knockout punch on Justin Abdelkader?
And was he on the ice?
Also, how about it doesn't matter?
It's not—we want—
How about it's hockey and you get hit sometimes?
Right, sometimes they're hit.
Yeah, but not every hit necessitates—
Well, you know, if you go watch your favorite player from any era besides this one,
and you go watch their greatest plays, every shot is a head shot.
Every hit is a head shot.
Scott Stevens is brutal.
Doug Gilmore, man.
Wendell Clark.
Wendell Clark.
Wendell Clark is a tough watch.
That is a tough watch for repeat viewing.
I don't know why they expect that there's not going to be hits.
And so I'm looking just at the shot line here, okay?
And he laughed it off.
So, yeah, of course he did, because it's hockey.
Now, I'm looking at the shot lines here, and people are like,
oh, you know, Matthew's line admittedly wasn't great.
Terrible, terrible.
Well, Jansen had six shots.
Some of that might have come on the power play.
Matthew's had four shots.
Some of that might have come on the power play.
Who else is on that line?
Nylander.
Ah, no shots.
But he still got the crown.
That's what's key.
He deserved it.
Minus one.
It doesn't matter.
Five shots.
Kapanen.
He got a shot.
No shot from Tavares.
That's been the one thing you can actually point to and go,
something's wrong with this line.
Tavares, I think, is at less than two shots per game.
Right, and you need to put shots on.
It's a volume thing, and he's a right-around-the-goalie type of player.
You need shots on net.
And he looks more lethal on the power play.
One thing, they never really did a good job of making him dangerous on the power play.
They made him dangerous, but not quite there.
Yeah, they've got to figure out that line.
And I was defending Kapanen.
I'm leaning towards, I mean, I just think Trevor Moore can do that role.
I do.
And I think he's the guy, not Mickey.
You still leave the rookie on the third line.
Yeah, it's too much too soon.
And then I like the burner line.
Kapanen, Kerfoot, Mickey, who's catching him?
No one.
What third line is catching that one?
Is it too soon to shake it up, though?
Do you not want to give these guys more than six games?
Yeah, on your own video, you said.
I know.
They'll figure it out.
No, but the question is also, do you think they look good?
And I'm like, no.
No, they don't.
And also, the best line last game.
All right, let's break that up right away.
The third line.
It makes no sense to me, but we're getting there.
They're about to play back-to-back games, and if they look like shit after both of them,
it might be time.
You change one guy, you're not breaking it up.
Yeah, you are.
Yeah, you are.
It changes the whole dynamic.
Especially if you have a...
Is the Marner-Taveras line not still the Marner-Taveras line?
Right.
You're 100% right, yeah.
It really ought to be them.
It's really Marner-Taveras guy.
Yeah, and the guy has to be a strong forward checker.
Trevor Moore is the guy.
How do we get Steve to be the guy?
Hyman's pretty good, huh?
I would just take 20 minutes every time.
Every shift would be so long because it would take me forever to get to the front of the net.
And all I would do is stand in front of the net and just hope the puck hit my ass.
How is your speed?
It's terrible.
It's not appropriate?
Jesse, everything about my game is terrible.
No, but you've been practicing so much.
You've had professional workouts with Savvy.
My straightaway speed is better than it was, for sure.
Okay.
But there are still times, like, okay, there's my concentrating controlled environment speed.
And there's my, oh shit, panic speed.
It's not as good.
When I panic, I forget to use my left leg.
I literally skate like Mason.
I skate like Jeremy's kid from the Timbits video.
That's why I'm really excited for you, Cecile, because I get to see, because you've done
like a year of solid training.
Okay.
A year of hardcore 24-7 hockey training.
It's true.
Six months.
I'm like the football player who said, give me six months.
Then we'll see how good you are.
Anyway.
I don't know, man.
Well, okay.
Are you switching up the lines?
Not yet.
Not yet.
So then, okay.
Soon.
So how long do you give it with Kapanen on that line before you finally say,
put him back on his own side and let him play?
I don't know.
Like, when they look bad, I'm like, well, hopefully they figure it out.
When they look frustrated, I'm like, mm, let's.
Because, again, it's early in the season.
The Marner picture with Kapanen and the iPad?
Yeah, I really don't want that becoming his season and Tavares' season.
Is that picture out of context, or is that for real?
Do you think that frustration in that?
I think it looked worse than it was.
I think it was Marner explaining why he looked him off.
But I don't know.
That's a pure guess.
And what we're talking about, by the way, is Marner, he was looking at a, I think he
was looking at a two-on-one that he and Kapanen had, where Marner took the shot.
Like, Marner carried it in and took the shot.
I don't know, man.
What Twitter account did you get that from?
You gave him the shout-out in your video.
TicTacOmar.
T-I-C-T-A-C-O-M-A-R.
Good account to follow?
Good account.
All right.
Him and Flintor, killing the game.
Oh, man, Flintor's amazing.
Sandin.
Now, at the time I tweeted that Sandin was going down,
I was not at league's practice and did not know that Travis Dermott is no longer in an injury jersey.
That's interesting.
Kevin Gravel's been called up.
Mm-hmm.
and apparently he's being called up just to be scratched.
Yes.
Yes, it's going to be Hall-Marinchen,
which is, I assume they're going to get gravel in a game, though,
because they said he's going to be part of the rotation.
Okay, so he's probably just going to practice with the team
and then they'll put him in next game.
Well, they're about to play back-to-back.
Yeah, it's Minnesota and then who?
Washington, on the road.
Well, you wouldn't want to tire out Justin Hall with 10 minutes of ice time.
No, certainly not.
Rasmus Sandin
is there
is it better for him
to play 22 minutes a night
in the Marlies
with the Marlies
yes
well and I'm excited
because they said
right away
and I felt like
this was pointed
Sandin's going to play
with Lilligren
I want to say
they want to build that
the plan is at
some point
they go
call the whole thing up
imagine just calling up
a pairing
well that's the point
your third pairing
is in the minors
right now. I think there's a good chance
your third pairing is in the minors. Although, Justin
Halls looked like a guy who's
playing hockey. Which he didn't last
year. If they get away from making trade deadline
moves now, because they've got their forward
depth set. They have so much depth at forward, they're
fine. What do they need to go out and get? If
Lilligren and Sandin are
really good players at the AHL level, which they
were last year. They were very good together.
Great power play and whatever.
From what I understand, Timothy Lilligren's looked really
good this year because he's developing well.
you don't need to go get
as I mentioned last episode
somebody from the Oilers or somebody from
X-Team for a third round pick
you've got two guys ready to go
by the trade deadline. Now do you think it'll be
a Travis Dermott situation from a couple years ago
where he comes in
he played like 30 games before the playoffs and went
or
do they wait till next year?
Because to me, what I tweeted
at the time, I was like Sandin's going down, this is ridiculous
not that
Not that Sandin has been an all-star,
but I also think he's probably the best option that they have at 5-6-7.
So if the objective is to win now,
and you pretty much think that you're going to make the playoffs anyway,
you obviously have to earn that,
why wouldn't you keep him up?
That's the thing.
The objective is not to win now.
It's to win in April, May, and June.
Sorry.
No, I know.
I know what you meant.
But I think that's sort of the way they're looking at it.
And I guess the difference between Kevin Gravel and Rasmus Sandin is not huge at the moment.
It will be, but it's not huge at the moment.
So maybe that's what they figure.
He did get rocked.
He did not have a good game against Detroit,
which is funny because he's two games removed from his best game of the season.
Yeah.
But he's been so inconsistent that you can't just keep running him out there.
His partners have been inconsistent.
You know what I mean?
The most vulnerable player on the team, here's Martin Marincin, here's Justin Hull.
Yeah.
You know?
But I guess they figure they'll put Kevin Gravel through all that nonsense.
I'm going to put on my tinfoil hat for a second.
I am convinced this team is trading Cody Ceci.
I think they are, too.
Yeah.
They don't think this player is good.
Why did they think he was good when they had the option to not keep him on the roster and just let him walk?
Is that true, though?
There was something.
Somebody said something that that wasn't true.
No, we went through this like eight times.
I know, but I just feel like that doesn't make sense.
They thought he was a player two months ago, and now they've seen him play in six years, and he's not playing.
I think they thought he, yep.
I think they thought they'd be starting the season down a man, and they already didn't
have that great of a decor, and they thought, here's a placeholder who someone is going
to want.
That pairing does not work.
No, it's bad.
I know it's only six games in.
It's bad.
Dude, Riley looks terrible.
Yeah.
And he's another guy.
I am far more concerned with Riley than either of Marner or Tavares.
Way more.
That Shattenkirk goal was disgraceful.
Yeah, bad defense.
Oh, Freddie should have had it.
Freddie should have never seen the shot!
What are you talking about?
Riley had support!
What happened?
Yeah, no, they got a...
I am not 100% sure what the plan is.
I don't know how they're going to get rid of him.
or maybe they just have him on the third pair.
But there is no way this organization thinks
this guy is Morgan Riley's D partner in the playoffs.
Cody Ceci at 10 minutes a night
probably looks a lot better than Cody Ceci at 22,
which is what he played against Detroit.
22 minutes, 22 and a half minutes.
And that's what I like.
So part of me wonders that the Sandy thing was surprising too,
because I thought maybe that Travis Dermott comes in,
plays with Morgan Rielly,
and then you've got a really young dynamic player in Sandin learning,
but I guess playing a little bit more than 10 minutes a night,
learning on the back end.
Now, it's fine that he's gone to the AHL.
That's cool, whatever.
But I think Travis Dermott has to come in
and they have to try him with Morgan Rielly once he's up to speed.
it's not fair to just throw Travis Dermott in there
as a top four guy right now, I don't think
I don't think, do you?
No, no, god no
I just, I don't
I don't know what they're playing at
but they're up to something
they're up to, I think it has something to do
with the fact that Hyman and Dermott
are injured and it has something to do with the cap
and that is delaying their plans
they're not
keeping this player
if they traded Cody Ceci, it wouldn't give them any cap relief
they're in LTIR
yeah just like i thought well maybe they brought put sandin down because of cap relief but they
don't have any because it's ltir that probably answers jesse's question like why on earth they
would keep him and also pay him so much right like i i see him play and i'm like yeah okay
four four point five what i don't know about that chief um yeah so that's my i know your
question had nothing to do with cody cc interesting but the more and who is the guy don't do that
don't give me hope steve simmons i think it was what he said talked about uh i want to say it was
him who talked about the prospect of cody cc going to winnipeg don't give me hope hey man i said it
first last episode so you f off steve simmons was that you didn't put it you didn't put it it was
not you didn't quote me in the article steve simmons did not quote me in the article no you
and put it in a magazine.
Yeah, you're right.
No, was it a tweet
or was it in his article?
I think it was in his article.
That one where he...
That Sunday thing.
...bashed me for having a book
that one time.
Oh, yeah!
People don't forget!
Do you remember that bullshit?
Yes, I remember that bullshit!
He took shots at you
for writing a book
and being successful.
Here are all these great authors
that can't sell books.
Here's a guy on the bestsellers list.
He at least was punching up.
He sure was.
Yeah, that's true.
Let's defend the boring authors
and go after the guy
that actually has an audience.
Oh, hey, I'm not going to go after Dave Schultz.
Oh, I wasn't going after Dave Schultz.
I'm just making the point.
Yeah, you're freaking...
Oh, my God.
No, I'm kidding.
Yeah, we're turning this around in Adam now.
Yeah.
Timoshev, every time I see him play...
Holy shit.
Every time I see him play,
I am shocked that he's even here.
And it's not because he doesn't deserve it.
But of the guys from his draft year,
I thought, forever,
there's a guy that I just don't see
how he makes this team.
That was...
Because of the player he is.
I want to say Dubas' first draft?
2015.
Yeah.
And you look at Bracco.
Bracco's another guy from that draft that I'm like, man, he's a good player.
Probably an NHL-er.
How does he make this team?
And Timoshev, to his credit, because I don't think Bracco could ever be the player that Timoshev is,
but Bracco, because not his style of play.
Style of play.
Everybody relax.
Timoshev is, to me, the X factor on that fourth line.
Interesting.
I think he's the guy that's toughest to take off the puck.
I mean, Gauthier has the most experience, for sure.
And he had five shots yesterday, or on Saturday night, which is amazing.
But Timosha, when he's playing, he's controlling it.
Does that make sense?
Yes.
Like, he is controlling play, he is making things happen,
and I'm surprised that Mike's even got them on the rotation system,
because every time I see him play, I'm like, man, how do you not?
Like, it sucks for Spets and Patan that they had to play St. Louis and Tampa.
Yeah.
But they're the veterans.
They're the veterans.
Fair.
And also, you know what?
You haven't played in two straight games, and you're playing Detroit.
You better kick their ass.
And that line kicked their ass all night long.
Shore was the only guy on the team who didn't play at least 10 minutes.
And he played 9.45.
And got his first goal as a lead.
Got his first goal.
It was a good goal.
Timoshev, two assists.
he made
Jake Muzzin
gets that team
fired up man
god I hope
they extend him
I think they will
I think they will too
he's 30
so they gotta watch
but
no I'm a huge fan
of that player
do you go
also I still have
those Buzz Lightyear gloves
and I wanna
you gotta use them
for something
do you go higher
if you're
cause Jake Muzzin's
gonna go for a long term deal
do you offer him
more money in the short term
to keep the term shorter
can you
can you even afford
to do that
that's what I was
wondering that
You give him term if he wants it.
And also, if you want to get Morgan Riley going.
Has Muzzin, like, Barry's been good.
Very, very good.
But do you not give Muzzin a shot with Riley?
They didn't last year.
Riley on the right?
Yeah, you'd have to switch the hand in this.
Yeah, I guess.
There's something there.
I see where you're going with it.
No.
Because you wouldn't have CeCe Barry.
I would say, like, Dermot Barry.
I could see that.
The all legs line.
Because if you're gonna have if you're gonna have Dermot playing
Left side with Riley or sorry right side with Riley because it was Riley playing. He's playing left side Riley's left
Yeah, yeah, so he's playing but he's playing the left side because they're in the past. He's done both
He was right with enough. I want to say Jesus
It was a tough go part of the wonders like what's better. What's better to who's better to have on their offhand?
Muzzin Riley or Dermot of those three I want Muzzin or Riley or no one like and you know
No, they haven't.
And you trade CeCe for Pareko or some shit.
That's not happening.
I don't know how St. Louis is going to keep Pareko.
With the Falk deal and the Petrangelo deal pending.
I don't know.
You're not getting Pareko out of St. Louis.
No, I say this every year.
I'm not going to fall into saying it.
I don't know.
This year feels weird.
I don't know.
I don't know.
For the fifth consecutive year, it doesn't seem weird.
This feels weird.
You know what, though?
No, it's been a weird couple of years.
It's been kind of weird.
Oh, we were talking about this before the show.
Who bets on hockey?
You're nuts.
You can't.
Yeah, I don't.
It's too random.
There's no consistency to the scores or any of the teams that are going to win.
If you bet on Tampa to beat Ottawa on Saturday, that's a losing bet.
That's ridiculous.
Would you say, Jesse, betting on football is fun because you're making a bet on a team.
They play once a, you know, and you can overly go into deep dive every game, right?
Because you've got a week to do it.
And you can be confident in the results based on history.
You can be confident that the New England Patriots are going to beat the Miami Dolphins.
It's just a matter of what Vegas is putting against you in terms of the point spread or the prop bets or what number they're giving you.
But you can be confident in the result.
In hockey, you can't even be confident in the result, not even to mention the point spread or anything like that.
In hockey, the Ottawa Senators have still a nearly 50% chance of beating the Tampa Bay Lightning.
And they did!
Right.
And they did!
The only thing that makes any sense to me, a guy who I play NHL with, he put a $5 bet on a team to come back from a three-goal deficit.
I can't remember what it was.
And they did!
Nice.
And it paid out, I think if he had cashed out at the tie, he would have made $85.
Wow.
And if he cashed out at the win, which he went for but they lost, it would have been even more than that.
That's cool.
That's the only thing that hockey's good for, is you bet on the upset.
Mid-game.
Because, yeah, it's goofy.
I want to know, is anyone listening who made an in-game bet during the Patriots-Falcons Super Bowl?
Oh.
I want to know.
You know what?
It's a good idea.
Why the hell not?
It's a great idea.
Yeah, throw $10 on an extraordinarily unlikely scenario, and it's $10.
Isn't the story that it would have been Mark Wahlberg?
He's the Boston one, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, he left.
The Boston one.
He left in the third quarter because he was so pissed off that they were losing so badly.
Oh, my God.
Imagine having enough money to leave the Super Bowl.
Right?
Yeah.
No, I'm staying to the bitter end with the Leafs.
Leaf tickets are too valuable
Yeah, it's sports, that's what you do
Well, and every time I see someone leave the ACC
Like five minutes early
I'm like, oh yeah, you're going to go home faster for sure
You're not
Sit down
It's like, wow, we sure showed them
Not only did I rip myself off
I'm on the highway faster in Toronto
Where the highway is always clogged
Lakeshore East, still packed
Got on the GO train 30 minutes early
Oh man, that's amazing
Or you know what's great
is they go to the GoTrain station
and you get there
and you see the people
that have been waiting
for 20 minutes
because they missed the train
that they left early to catch.
Like, 100%.
Happens all the time.
Yeah.
Stupid.
Patrick Marleau
scores two goals.
And they're undefeated
with Patrick Marleau.
And his Ironman streak continues.
Now, I did see,
did you see the video
of not of him
getting, like, emotional?
And he tweeted through
his wife's Twitter account today,
which is very sweet.
but um the the the uh sharks were coming out of the dressing room and they're tapping gloves with
like fans and that sort of thing and then he's the last guy out and you hear you're watching
him walk down the thing out of the shark and you could hear the crowd as he lose it absolutely like
a rock concert lose their mind that he's back and could not happen to a better guy like honestly
how fucking cool was that?
Doesn't it make you
want to go like
sorry
I'm not sorry
we held on to him for you
here you go
I feel bad that
I feel bad that
he
the only reason
his entire time in Toronto
was overshadowed by the fact
that he was getting paid too much
but he was a valuable member
if he was making
league men like he is
in San Jose
he'd still be here
he's a valuable member of
he was a valuable member
of the team
and
he was used incorrectly
and paid too much
but that doesn't mean
that he wasn't valuable
right
This first year especially was good.
Did you see the tweet by Kevin Kurz?
No.
It says, if Patrick Marleau stays in the lineup,
he will play his 1500th game as a Shark on October 25th in Toronto.
Last career Hattie.
It's coming.
Isn't that disgusting?
Last career Hattie for Patty.
At least you start Michael Hutchinson that night just to guarantee it, right?
Yeah.
He should retire.
Don't let Freddie go through that.
Yeah, no.
He should retire at center ice.
Michael Hutchison, for sure.
Yeah.
Steve, you got a hate on for Michael Hutchison a little bit.
No, I'm just being a dick.
Oh, okay.
I'm just being a dick.
No, we're talking about teams with no goalies.
The Leafs have one, at least.
See?
You deny that you had the hate on for him and then say something like that?
Oh, he's an improvement on what they had last year.
You know what?
How dare you besmirch Garrett Sparks?
All he wanted was a shot.
Oh, no!
He's not Garrett Sparks, you know?
That's the thing.
That's the problem with him.
Is it?
Yeah.
That's the only issue.
My biggest problem with Michael Hodgeson is he was drafted by the Bruins, and that's why he sucks.
You know what Steve should do again?
Text Garrett Sparks and go, hey, man, did you get traded?
You know what I should do to prevent that?
I'm going to delete his number right now.
Don't do that.
Believe me, he's deleted yours.
Oh, no.
I should delete his number.
I should delete my account as well.
Don't delete his number.
Why are you deleting his number?
It's probably changed anyway.
He lives in Vegas, man.
No, he lives in Chicago.
Oh, wait.
He's with the Wolves.
Still, he's not keeping his Toronto number.
Don't delete it.
You never know.
You never know.
You never know.
You never know when he's in net for the Leafs the night they win the Stanley Cup.
The Pens have won, I think it's three in a row?
Yep.
Oh, and they haven't just won three in a row.
They have won three in a row.
They have just, it's like, okay.
Sidney Crosby's nuts, right?
Yes.
Like, certified.
Yeah.
Do you think...
Would it be a good idea to show him that podcast clip?
Oh, if you're a Leaf fan, no.
He scores 50.
Yeah, and 40 of them are against the Leafs.
Yes.
For sure.
Yeah.
Because it's Sidney Crosby.
Well, and I just want to say the title just made me laugh, because I didn't have anything to do with the title.
The title is, Pittsburgh Just Give Up.
I didn't write that one.
Oh, my God.
Hot.
Piping hot.
Now, what I want to say is this.
I had a lot of Penns fans in my mentions, including Evan Huber, who we love.
And they were nice about it.
They were really nice about it, actually.
They're never mean.
Pittsburgh's won far too much to be mean about anything.
Except for one child who got on my Instagram.
Calling you a virgin?
I would rock you on the ice, you virgin.
And I just look at them.
That's a pretty good diss, man.
I love when these friggin' kids, like, post that shit.
And then I just look at their picture and I'm like, buddy, I would bench press your dad.
Oh my god.
Get out of my face.
That's really funny.
You virgin.
You virgin.
I take that as a compliment.
You married twice as old as me, virgin.
Oh my god.
But here's who the Penguins beat since our last episode.
But I wasn't affected by it.
He didn't get to you at all.
No, no.
Of course not.
Who did they beat, Adam?
Well, they beat the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
They did?
Yep.
Two to one.
And then, a real powerhouse, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
Real powerhouse.
Such a good team.
They've had a very good start.
Then they beat the equally impressive, shockingly good, incredibly talented, bulletproof team,
the Minnesota Wild 7-4.
7-4, though.
So good.
Oh, boy.
They're so good.
Scored a touchdown.
They're so good, they didn't even bother to make the playoffs last year.
They didn't need that shit.
Whoa!
They didn't need that shit.
They knew.
They had a good summer.
No, forget it.
They had a great summer. They actually you know what they had a better summer than they could have had and they got a guy
Who's like a lizard on the ice you see and he's cuz he kind of jumps out with his tongue and he licks players or something
Paul Fenton describing Matt Zuccarello still the greatest could be that we know what
Team does he work for right now? You know, he probably works for a team in secret. Oh, yeah, hopefully Edmonton like it's a scout
Oh my god
No, I would like either Wyshynski or down goes brown cuz these guys those guys are like photographic memory for stuff like this
You have it for like weird player stats
They have it for like weird quotes
And Merrick has it for fights
Merrick has it for fights?
How does he remember those fights?
I don't know, but he has a DVD somewhere in a basement
For every single fight that's ever happened
Does he actually?
I assume
He does
He showed a fight
On ice surfing last year
That the only place I had ever
Seen it, ever
was in his living room, like, seven years prior.
Off of a VHS tape.
Off of a, yeah, he just, instead of putting on, like, Superbad
or, like, one of those Party Pleaser movies you just sort of ignore
when people are, he just, he put on, like, a playoff game
between the Flyers and Bruins from the 70s or something like that.
There was a car commercial in the middle of the game,
and it was for, it was, like, Enterprise Rent-A-Car,
and the celebrity in the commercial was OJ Simpson.
That's awesome.
Wow.
Yeah.
Wow.
That's awesome.
Merrick, man.
Anyway.
Back to the Penguins.
Yes.
The Penguins beat the Anaheim Ducks, who had 80 points in 82 games last year.
Just a real, real hot team.
Then they beat the Minnesota Wild, who had three extra points over the Ducks.
So they're three points better.
They had 83 points in 82 games.
Point-of-game pace.
Pretty good for the NHL.
It is.
Could be worse.
Then they beat the Winnipeg decimated defense Jets.
Who they should have beat the first time.
Who they should have beat the first time.
The Winnipeg Jets who have literally lost three very good right-handed D-men.
Okay, two and a half.
We're not really Tyler Myers.
But still better than what they have.
Pittsburgh.
You know I love you.
I loved watching the Steelers take on the Chargers.
My mom was actually at that game.
But get out of here
With your
Crummy three game
Winning streak
Beat a real team
Beat a real team
Then we can talk
And I don't doubt
That you can do it
You have Sidney Crosby
But beat a real team
And then we'll talk
Whoa
Okay
You beat
You beat
Are you willing to take this heat out of my mouth
Two non-playoff teams
And a team that's not supposed to make them
Laurent Baswat
And I didn't even say his name right
No
From the Jets
That was very grape severe
Baswat
Whatever you beat the...
Lauren Brassois!
What just happened?
What?
Who cares?
Lauren Brassois!
You beat the backup goalie for the team that has no defense.
Good for you!
His fan posse is going to come after you.
You don't want to mess with the Brassois team.
They're going to come for you.
They're going to drive up in a black van and jump off the sides.
Here's a real team.
And use hockey to solve this.
Here's a real team.
The Colorado Avalanche.
Who the Penguins take on Wednesday.
Beat those guys.
the Penguins next Saturday
play the Golden Knights
the Stars are okay
Golden Knights
in the second half
of a back-to-back
beat those guys
then I'll be like
alright
alright
but until then
Pittsburgh
just give up
ain't your year man
wow
hey Jesse
can you bring up
that screen
you just had there
what do you have
well I just want to
ask your opinion
on some things
Vancouver Canucks
what do you think
of that team
I think it's unfortunate
that they've
weighed down their cap situation with so many bad
contracts with so many good young players. But on the
ice any given night.
They're decent. Decent. Decent.
Right? On their way to being good. Can beat
you, you can beat them. Sure. They are
now. What do you think of the LA
Kings? Garbage.
Yeah, that's fair.
What do you think of the New York Islanders?
Had
a good year last year.
Yeah, okay, fair enough. Well, because they lost
Robin Leonard and they got, who did they
Semyon Varlamov?
Oh, he wasn't very good.
He got pulled one night.
Did he?
Yeah, he did.
I missed that.
I'm not paying attention.
I should be paying closer attention.
We've been talking about it a lot on the show today.
I'm being set up for something, aren't I?
Yeah, we've been talking about it a lot on today's show.
The Devils are really good.
No, they're not.
Oh, they're not?
No.
Well, are they good?
Well, no.
They haven't been good.
Well, like, if you were losing to them, you could probably come back.
Oh, I would think so, yeah.
You'd think so?
Yeah.
Of course.
Rangers
They look like they're good
They look like they're good
Rebuilding
Yeah
But they look like they're good
Yeah
They can beat you
Sure
You can beat them
They have Henrik Lundqvist
And he still plays hockey
I just named every team
The Oilers have played so far
Oh
Their October
Rules
By the way
That's all they need
Dude
I think it might keep going
That's all they need
The rest of their month
They got Chicago on the road
I don't know which one of their starting goalies they will play
That one's weird
Philly, again, Carter Hart
Is
They're putting a lot of pressure on that kid, man
Then you got Detroit
Then you got the decimated Jets
You got the Wild
You got the Caps
You got the Panthers
And then you get your first back-to-back of the year
Imagine only having one
Back-to-back in October
Couldn't be me
Detroit-Columbus
That's as sweet in October as there is in the entire league
Oh yeah
That is wicked
They get so many days of rest
Only one back-to-back
And not a lot of wagon teams
Alright, let me do the same thing back to you
I think it might continue, man
Let me do the same thing back to you
How do you feel about the Blue Jackets?
They're not as good as they were last year, certainly
How do you feel about the Red Wings?
Not very good
Feisty, not very good
Okay.
And you're not sure about the Ducks?
No, I think the Ducks are...
They have a very good chance of making the playoffs this year.
But probably fight for it.
Like a wild card.
We know how you feel about the Minnesota Wild.
I mean...
They're not dog shit.
No, they're not.
But they're not great.
And the Jets this year, how do you feel about that?
They can score.
They can score a lot of goals.
but defensively vulnerable.
I've just given you the names of the teams that the Penguins have beaten this year.
Beaten?
Mm-hmm.
Oh, boy.
Are we doing this?
Beat a real team.
Wow!
See, Adam used that list to be like, beat a real team,
and I used the Oilers list to be like, you know what?
This might keep going.
No, I know, but I'm creating a friendly rivalry with my Pittsburgh friends,
and they're not going to like it, but I think it's going to be fun.
The annoying thing about it is they're going to play along and be friendly about it.
Yeah.
Oh, it's going to be fun.
It's like Chicago.
Like if I keep going, I'll get death threats.
You can needle Chicago Blackhawks fans all day.
And they're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, but we won like all those cups.
Yeah.
Yeah, whatever.
You know, we're not as good anymore.
Yeah.
Exactly.
That's great, man.
I can't hear you plug my cup rings or plug in my ears and mouth.
Look at the middle ring, Adam.
Yeah, exactly.
Right?
Yeah.
That's fun.
It's fun to punch up.
That's all I'm saying.
Teams are good teams.
Steve, if you're a betting man, which you aren't, are you betting on the Pittsburgh Penguins to make the playoffs?
In a weak Metro.
Caps are going to make it.
Hurricanes are going to make it.
Philly?
Hot take.
Hurricanes are going to win the division.
I don't think that's a hot take.
They might win the Cup.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Like, I think they're going deep, baby.
Who's your final four?
Imagine it's Leafs-Canes again in the final four.
kill me
kill me
you want to talk about
heartbreak
you think you've heard
you haven't seen
look it up
Leafs were so close
to the Stanley Cup finals
and they're like
yeah we got it
we're only playing
Carolina
this is slowly becoming
this is how I know
I'm getting into
oh my god the Leafs
might win the cup mode
is rather than
bring up the Bruins
all the time
those losses
I'm starting to think
about 2002 against
Carolina more and more
because there was
a moment in my
naive
Sweet Summer Childhood
Where I remember thinking
Oh my god, the Leafs are going to the final
Yeah, they're going to do this
They're really going to do this
Because after they get out of two seven game wars
Basically Sundeen-less
Yep
Scary Roberts
And they're getting them back
In the third round
And they're playing Carolina
Carolina
The great thing is that
Friggin' Jeff O'Neill
The world's biggest Leaf fan
Screwed the Leaf
I hate it
My favorite part about that too
Is if the Leafs play Carolina again
In the Eastern Conference Final
Rod Brendamore will still be a part of the team
Just leave me alone
Stop
And if Ron Francis hadn't been let go
He would have been too
Patrice Bergeron before Patrice Bergeron
Right?
Leave me alone
You're right, new age Patrice Bergeron
Selkie winners
Our kryptonite
So I forgot to bring this up
When we were talking about Edmonton
But I guess it really has less to do with Edmonton
more to do with the player, Jesse Pogliarvi
is comfortable staying in Finland until next
season. He's feeling like he's getting his confidence back.
He's enjoying being close to home. If
you're Edmonton, he's
never going to play for you again.
Here's an opportunity
to deal a skilled winger
and I bet
that any other team that he was dealt
to, he'd probably play for.
So you're probably getting a player.
You can let
the agent in the team talk
and see if he'd come over. He probably would.
Do you not take the opportunity at some point this season,
before December 1st, and move the player?
Or are you going, now I'm going to let him sit until draft next year,
just because we're going to prove a point?
Because I feel like if you're Edmonton and you're off to a hot start,
you might want to take advantage.
I think regardless of the hot start, getting futures might be the way to go.
Yeah, if he's not going to play for you ever again,
You don't have the cap space to take anyone on who will help you now.
You might as well take Futures, shouldn't you?
Well, maybe you could package him in a deal where you could get some cap space.
This situation feels an awful lot like Nikita Filatov.
A top ten pick.
Pugliavi was fourth.
Filatov was sixth.
You could argue that...
Oh, right-handed forward.
You could argue that the team's development strategy is what held them back.
Sure.
You could argue that with Filatov.
You could argue that with Pugliarvi.
And then the Blue Jackets ended up getting a third rounder for Filatov.
I mean, that's terrible for a guy who was the sixth overall pick.
but given the circumstances
he's not going to play for you again
no he's not
the biggest win for the Oilers
I think would probably be he chooses to play
for them again
in the absence of that you might as well get something
are you able to package
and maybe not get much back for this
but you would get cap space
are you able to package a Chris Russell with him
you say ok you gotta take
you're gonna take Puyarvi
but you also have to take Chris Russell's deal
that's tough
There's so many, I just don't think there's many teams who can afford him.
Yeah, for sure.
I just don't think there's many teams that can afford him,
and I also think they think he's a good player.
Can I give you one scenario that I read on the Hockey Writers?
Yes.
It says, if the Oilers do decide to trade Pooley-Arvey this season,
one possible trade destination that continues to appear is the Hurricanes,
specifically a one-for-one trade for the team's 21st overall pick in 2016, Julian Gauthier.
Edmonton's got some good young players coming up too, don't they?
They have
Yeah, Oilers fans are very quick to point that out
They have some guys in the minors who look like
Players
They don't look like stars
They look like players
They have the stars
It's similar to the Leafs where they don't have the blue chip
They don't need the blue chip
They need Timoshev
They need guy
Competent bums
It's a compliment, I promise
What's Julian Gauthier's story?
He made his NHL debut this season, no points in two games,
did have 27 goals in 75 AHL games last season.
That's good.
But he's wafer-exempt, so the Edmonton Oilers have a special interest in him
because they want somebody that they can send up and down
without having to clear, like, Pugliarfi.
Interesting.
Yeah, yeah.
So that's what people are throwing out there in Edmonton.
I like the idea.
Yeah, yeah.
Don't hate it.
Don't hate it at all.
Although, ring ring, this is Eric Tulsi, click.
Yeah.
I don't know, man.
Don Modell on behalf of Eric Tulsi.
Oh, I meant to bring this up earlier.
Over-under.
How long, with the Edmonton Oilers being on top
and the New Jersey Devils being on the bottom,
how long until we see an Edmonton media shot?
That they won the Taylor Hall trade?
No.
Well, there's that.
That's a good one.
A shot at Tyler Dello.
Who works for the Devils
Oh I wonder
It's coming
It's
Dude
For sure
I think we give it till December
No way they wait that long
No way
I think it's December
I think you have to have
Some sort of
Like sample size
So that you can come at them
With the
It's December
It's gotta be a hot
End of the month
Right
It's like hey Dello
It's been enough time
Where are your fancy stats?
Oh.
Where are Tyler Dello's critics now?
The new computer boys.
Interesting.
I'm just, and listen, it's not my criticism.
I just think someone is going to make it, and it's going to set Twitter ablaze.
Yeah.
And it's going to be pretty funny, because it always is.
Just saying.
Hmm.
What day is it?
October 14th.
Mind reader.
Give it two months.
It's happening.
By the way, Jesse, do you want to see if NHL by Maddie's got any?
Yeah, he was tweeting up a storm, actually.
I can pull up a...
He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would do that.
Is he going to make...
It's not going to be him.
No.
He's too sweet and innocent, I think.
I don't...
I think Speck's passed it.
I think Mark Spector's passed it.
Maybe Dave Staples?
Terry Jones?
Maybe Terry Jones.
He can be bombastic.
So this is public, by the way.
Behind the scenes, they've already said this.
Oh, yeah.
100%.
No, I want it to be...
For sure.
Good point.
Oh, yeah.
I make good points.
Dustin Nelson, Nielsen, whatever.
Oh, but he's intentionally doing it.
That's true.
He's doing what any sports morning radio host should do and getting people's attention.
Yes.
I don't see the problem.
Adam, do you have the box score for the Edmonton, New Jersey game?
I can pull it up.
Give me one second.
Edmonton, New Jersey?
Yeah.
Today?
Their most recent message
When did they play?
No, it was this past week
Yeah, it was on the 10th
Just go to the Oilers website and click on the most recent game
We know how
What do you need to know?
Everybody
Well, NHL by Maddie tweeted
Not much happening with R-N-H
Ryan Newton Hopkins
In this game in New Jersey
Still looking for first point of season
Predictably, Neil, not very dangerous after four goals last game
Tough to keep that role going
And then that tweet received
100 replies
From angry Oilers, he pissed off Oilers fans?
Yeah, because I assume
That game ended with them both
Getting points
Well, they played New Jersey so they won
I don't even need to look up the score
NHL by Matty Jinks
Neil did score
And a goal, and Nugent Hopkins had two assists
Amazing
But he was a minus one
Ah, so Matty wins
The only one that matters
Connor McDavid
Three points
The only stat that matters
Oh what a cheat code
Yeah I know
Oh two points
Two points
You know it's
Looking shitty
Although I don't
Who leads the league
In points right now
Because a lot of people
My wife included actually
A lot of people
Had the first overall pick
In their fantasy draft
And didn't take
The league's best player
League's best offensive player
Certainly
And that's not Conor McDavid?
It's not.
A lot of people didn't take Conor McDavid.
Well, he leads the league in points.
A lot of people took Nikita Kucherov, man.
They're nuts.
A lot of people took Nikita Kucherov.
You're nuts.
Dude, he led the league with like 130 points.
He smoked McDavid last year.
He did?
I don't know why Matty also had this hot take that got people upset.
He called John Gibson the most underrated goalie in the league.
He stops pretty much everything and keeps ducks in so many games.
He's actually right about that.
Yeah, but people have been saying that for like...
Yeah, everybody said he's not underrated because everybody's been saying this for like a decade now.
To be fair, I don't think NHL by Matty reads Twitter.
I think he just tweets and then goes away, which is really the right way to use Twitter.
It is 100% the right way to use Twitter.
Because he doesn't reply to anyone.
No.
He would be very upset, I would think, if he read some of the replies he did get.
Or just the tags that are just at Steve Dinkle, at Adam Weill.
Why am I constantly being tagged in this?
Or when someone just goes at your name just to show you the thread,
and I'm like, why are you making me do work?
Now I've got to click this.
I've got to spend several joules of energy to click this,
and what if it's shitty?
What if you sent me a shitty thing?
Thanks for wasting my time with your shitty thing, stranger on Twitter.
Sorry.
God forbid people want you to be a part of what they're enjoying.
These are the things I thought while drunk on Thanksgiving.
Yeah.
I would hate to share in joy with other human beings.
It sounds like such a waste of energy
Steve have you seen
Yes 80 people sent it to me
Steve
Oh no you have fans who want to share things
No the new one
Oh man I can't wait to hear what the new one is
The new one
Is someone will make something
On Instagram
And it'll just be like
I don't know someone who like doesn't
Even follow me or whatever
Oh here's Steve with like
a strange caption above his head
and they'll turn me into a meme
and the caption will just be
tag him.
And now I can't use Instagram
the way I want to use Instagram.
I can't use social media
like I want to
because it's been ruined.
Why don't you have a...
What the hell?
Why don't you have a finsta?
What?
A finsta?
Stop.
What's a finsta?
Because he's not 15.
You want to tell him what a finsta and a resta is?
So there are finstas and there are rinstas.
The kids today have finstas where they post their actual selves.
No, no, the rinstas where they post their actual selves.
It's the real insta.
And then their finsta is for like, hey, this is my perfect curated life.
And then your rinstas for like your friends, your like really close friends.
You're like, hey, here's me eating a sandwich in bed.
No.
What?
I thought one of them was more for just for like creeping around.
I know there's a lot of people like Mike Babcock has Twitter.
We know that.
Yes, he said that.
But we don't know what his account would be, and we never will.
Is that just a nickname for it, or is there an actual app called Finsta?
No, no, no.
That's what they call their Finsta.
I was like, am I that behind that I didn't...
Your Finsta should be your account as it stands.
This is the oldest we've ever found, eh?
Your Finsta should be your fake account where you are able to use social media normally,
like a normal person.
So you log in, you don't even look at it as a normal account.
It's it's it's you, but it's it's like your YouTube account. Mm-hmm. You just like it's just it's a channel
It's not personal anymore. Steve Dangle the brand. Yeah, I'm kidding. Here's one if you don't want to post it
Don't
But they do want to post it. They just don't want everyone to see I think it's hilarious that they're trolling you like that
And please continue. Also
If you can call Steve a virgin more
That is a sick
If you can tag and call them Virgins.
It's so popular at the moment.
Virgins made a huge comeback.
Well, we're a great radio station.
What can I say?
Well, second best in the city.
Yeah.
After TSN 1050.
You're not 99 for nothing.
Gretzky, you see, 99.9.
What?
You're even better than Gretzky.
You're Gretzky and Richard.
And how?
And how.
No, there's only room for three nines.
Oh, okay.
Al's got to sit down.
Because there's only right he's not one of the top five players of all time Wow
Mark Messier is though
Red Wing fan reach out and I'm so sorry forget your name
But she was like she was like actually the best players all time and she just listed Detroit Red Wings and like number four was just
an applicator
Yes, Jimmy Howard you get it. Yeah, I think lastly
pretty tough news for
The Coyotes.
Chalmerson's out.
He broke his tibula, I believe.
Craig Morgan has tibula.
I would love to have been there for the moment some time-traveling demon spoke to Nicholas Chalmerson for the first time.
Sucks.
Hey, I'm from the future.
Oh, my God.
You will be traded to the Coyotes.
Oh, no.
That's the good news.
What?
This poor guy.
He can't catch a break.
well he catches lots of breaks he caught it he caught it um oh poor guy the poor coyotes but
more importantly poor guy like i don't know how you salvage an nhl career out of what he's been
through over the past two three years all right man well how do you remain good at the thing you
do if you're never allowed to do it that's tough yeah it's pretty tough yeah that's brutal man
Can't practice.
He might be out for three months, they said.
That's.
And that's supposed to be your top right-handed shot guy, right?
No, he's not right.
He plays on the right?
I think he's, yeah, one of those lefties who plays on the right.
Okay.
I don't think.
I mean, he can come back, obviously.
The season's longer than three months.
But, like, do we ever expect him to be what he should be?
What should he be after everything he's been through?
I don't know what you can expect.
Friggin' it's terrible, man.
It's terrible.
I want to see the Coyotes in the playoffs.
I think it'd be interesting.
Also, I told everyone to get Darcy Kemper as their sweeper.
Sweeper?
Sweeper.
And he's performing okay.
He has a shutout already.
I know, but he's only given me...
That's worth like 9,000 points or something.
He's only...
Not enough Corsi.
Well, you're right.
Oh my god.
Please tell me you're crushing that disgrace of a league.
I lost by 10 fantasy points my first game.
Oh, 10 Corsis.
I'm so mad.
Wow.
No, and I...
Imagine if you had scored an extra goal.
Sorry, 16 shot attempts.
Friggin so stupid so we've entered the worst segment on the podcast
No
Adam's stupid ass backwards fantasy picked up. I picked up a couple people today
I picked up Travis Kniekny and I picked up and I picked up don't ask me to say words right now
that's for an Oscar cleft mom and
Because I figured yeah, they're doing well. That's doing great
I thought the only person I dropped Travis Dermott and I did that because I wanted to tell you until like and I was
He's also not playing.
I only drafted him to bother you.
Well, you know what all the stats guys say.
Bye.
Hi.
Steve.
Oscar Clefbom's a good pickup.
Get out of here.
Well, how many people live on the moon?
I mean, none that are reported.
I think it's the exact same amount of people who care about Adam's family.
Wow.
Well, actually, there is a man on the moon because there is a man on the moon.
Also, it's made of cheese.
So at least one person cares.
That person's you.
That guy?
This guy right here.
That guy sitting right there.
I just want you to know.
With a beautiful smile.
Give the camera a smile.
You're beautiful.
Look at that.
Oh, my God.
Ding, ding, blint.
Let's do the press conference.
By the way, as we speak, the abs are just beating up on the Capitals.
What's the score?
I don't know, but Braden Holtby was pulled.
See, here's the thing.
No one posts the score anymore because it's already in the game.
When Twitter first started, it was like, wow, we're going to post the score every time there's a goal.
Now no one posts the score, so it's sort of hard to find.
Yeah, but then we cyber-bullied every beat reporter.
Stop live-tweeting the game!
And then they stopped.
And they just, like, post their strange thoughts with no context.
And we all go, ah, yes, 4-0?
Strange thoughts with no context.
Strange thoughts with no context.
It's true.
If you watch a game, if you haven't watched the game and you just see, like, reporter tweets, you don't know.
Because it's now treated as, rather than a source of information, it's treated as third screen.
It's commentary.
Yeah, so you're watching the game, and I do it too.
I'll just be like, wow, that's crap.
And people know what I'm talking about, but no one who's not watching the game has any idea.
What's your second screen?
Sorry, did I say third screen?
You called it third screen.
Second screen.
Okay, I got confused.
No, and your third screen just has, like, South Park.
For no good reason.
Just because...
You've never played video games and watched a hockey game at the same time?
Yeah.
I have.
Just because you've been damaged by society and things of that nature.
Jesse, ask a question.
I'm going to ask a trivia question.
Oh!
Because it's Holiday Trivia Fun Monday.
Nice.
It's got a real ring to it.
Yeah, it really rolls off the tongue.
We're doing...
This will be a...
Does Steve and Adam have paper?
No.
Steve and Adam, get some paper.
Here, here's a pen.
We're doing first overall picks the last 10 years.
2009 to 2019.
This isn't fair.
The last 10 years.
We're just going back 10 years.
That's it.
I know, but Steve's so going to get this.
It'll be real easy.
I am a little worried that I might not, actually.
Oh.
Okay.
Starting with 2009.
Nope.
We're starting with 2019.
Oh.
Write it down.
Write it down?
Write it down.
I'm working out
This past year
I can't remember
Do you actually not remember?
I'm so fucking fried today
I have no idea
You got time
Oh yeah
So tell everyone
About your ballerific life
Why are you tired?
I can't
Oh you're not allowed?
I'm not allowed
I had to do something
Before the show today
But I can't talk about it
We are not allowed
To talk about it
Adam you sound like
Your throat's sore
Did you have any
Lozenges for that?
What do you mean?
Well, like, what are those, like, the red lozenges?
Oh, stop it.
The square ones.
I know where you're going with these.
I'm not going there.
I'm not even going to mention it.
All right, what's your answer, Steve?
The French player, Jacques Hughes.
What's your answer?
I don't know.
Jacques?
I don't fucking know.
I'm so tired, I don't know.
Who do you think?
Guess.
I was up at 5 a.m. this morning.
I haven't slept.
I have no idea.
Oh, my God.
I know that feel, though.
I'm so tired.
The correct answer is Jacques Hughes.
Jack Hughes
that's what I played
Pittsburgh
can you show that
alright
2018
who's the first
overall pick
2018
2018
he's gonna nail this
I don't fucking know
it should just be
a Steve game
it should be
I relent
no it's
can you beat a
Steve Grater
no
Steve Grater
okay I got it
Steve what's your answer
oh my god
I freaking forget
Adam
come back
Do you have an answer?
I got an answer.
Adam.
No, no, no.
Steve, you need to lock in your answer.
You have eight seconds.
Oh, my God.
Seven.
Six.
Who even had the pick?
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
I forget.
One.
No answer.
He's sure.
No.
No!
Damn it!
Is that 2017?
It was 2017.
Rasmus Dali!
Oh, my God!
I was there!
You know what's amazing?
No, I wasn't.
Oh, you weren't?
I wasn't even there!
Holy shit.
We both need to sleep more.
Fuck me.
Yo, that's terrible.
Oh, it's awful.
I fully admit that.
2017?
He's sure.
Nico, you sure?
He's sure clause.
Oh my god, I'm embarrassed.
2016.
Okay, give me a sec.
Give me a sec.
This one I was there for.
My pen's dying!
Does my answer count if my pen's dying?
Your answer is disqualified if your pen dies.
No!
This pen's dead too
There will be no pen
No pen, no answer
Oh, here, here, here
Take another 99.9 virgin radio pen
Alright, what's your answer, Steven?
No wonder it doesn't work
If that was a 10.50 pen, it would have worked
Yeah
Austin Matthews
Fuse
Alright
3-2 for Steven
I think
I think so
Yeah, he missed one, I missed one
I missed two
I'm so embarrassed
Nah, that was my chance to catch up to you
Dude, it was two years ago, like one year ago really
Dude, June! I can't remember
I couldn't remember today
I know what you mean with the
It's not, my brain is not working
It's just an etch-a-sketch
No, I know, I had a few of those days last week
Yeah, I'm literally, it's like
I feel like I got sand, just sand
Just sand? Just sand in my head
And it's just pouring out like an hourglass
2015
2015.
There's my answer with my brilliant writing.
You both got McDavid?
I said McToronto.
Both got McDavid.
2014.
Now this one's tough.
Yeah, this is a toughie.
Now this one I was there for because I went to the draft in Philly,
which I find a way to mention every show.
The What Are You Nuts draft?
Yeah, it was the What Are You Nuts draft.
Show me your answer.
I don't know man
Steve's got it
Adam you gotta
get a guess in there
2015
Florida Panthers
2014
no idea
Barkov
defenseman
I'm starting to feel really bad
I don't know man
I'm really tired
defenseman
this isn't fair
defenseman
defenseman
A.A. Ron
really?
that was A.A. Ron's year?
that was Eckblad's?
Aaron Eckblad yeah
Barkov was
I wanna say second
5-3 for Steve
really?
he was a high pick
2013
2013.
Steve, let me see your answer.
That was the Freddy Gauthier draft.
Sure was.
See, he knows that.
He knows who the Leafs picked.
Colorado Avalanche.
Write down the answer.
I'm going to say...
Oh, my pen's dead.
Rantanen.
You're fucking with me.
Nathan McKinnon.
Oh, my God.
Dude, I'm toast.
Oh, my God.
I told you, this is not...
All right, all right.
2012.
I'm starting to feel real bad.
Yakubov.
Hey!
There we go.
Why do you remember that one?
Because, I don't know.
I think it's that dumb documentary the Oilers did that made them look worse.
Oh, oil change?
Who wants Yakubov?
The owner and this guy.
All right, that's what we're going with, despite everybody not wanting that.
I think your brain is so sleep fried that the further back you go, the better you're going to do.
You think so?
Maybe.
It's like, yeah, it's like when you lose your short-term memory, but you can still keep your long-term.
Right, right.
We have two more Edmonton drafts, 2011-2010.
Yeah.
What are they?
Do you have them both?
Didn't really work, but yeah.
Okay, so Nuge, 2011, Hall, 2010.
There you go.
Oh my god, see?
I was right.
And then, we end on 2009.
Ooh.
Local boy.
Played for the Windsor Spitfires.
Nope, he didn't.
Played for the London Knights.
Sorry, that was Taylor Hall who played for the Windsor Spitfires.
And Osweare General.
Tavares.
JT.
Well done.
I put Cappy.
Is he Cappy?
Yeah, he's the Cappy.
Oh, the Cappy Tom.
Yeah, he plays with Cappy, but he's also Cappy.
I love that you even put the year down.
Yeah, I'm organized in my messy writing.
Adam.
I'm sorry.
I'm not even embarrassed.
I don't care.
You know what?
It's like I'm just toast, man.
I don't know.
You got seven, right?
That's not too bad.
Some days you don't have it.
Seven out of 11?
Yeah, it's not bad.
That's most math.
Actually, most tests for me
was 7 out of 11
I was okay with, so.
I had no excuse
not to get perfect.
I tried to hit the camera.
It didn't work.
I think my favorite part
of that whole discussion
was you were like,
ah, I was there!
No, I wasn't!
That was great.
No, because I was at
the 2016 one.
Right.
In Buffalo.
When the Leafs had the first pick,
not Buffalo.
Fucking, I'm an idiot.
Nick Robertson's a forward.
He is.
Anything else?
I brought you guys some delicious donuts from Thanksgiving dinner.
I don't believe I can eat these.
So, we have something interesting here.
Also, shout out my girlfriend and sister for making them.
They look delicious.
I will show the camera.
If you are watching on YouTube, you can see these lovely...
Those are cool looking.
They look great.
These lovely donuts, which have pumpkin in them.
Interesting thing about pumpkin.
Steve, you can take one.
It's delicious.
It's flavorless.
Is that Adam hates it.
Actual pumpkin is flavorless and this gelatinous mud that they create is just sugar by the way
Yes, okay, so I understand what Adam's saying if you like
Pumpkin things you like cinnamon
Yeah
Yeah, that's what you have you don't like pumpkin flavored things you like cinnamon. Yeah, I like this just sugar
This is quite good, but that's because it tastes like a gingerbread man. Yeah, yeah cinnamon. Oh, it's pumpkins, but cinnamon. Yes, mm-hmm cinnamon
It is amazing how Starbucks took
flavor that is quite literally the most one of the most naturally like occurring
flavors on earth cinnamon mm-hmm and rebranded it and every fall people lose
their fucking minds when they already have cinnamon dolce lattes yeah which
are essentially same where they serve all year round they're just the exact
same day can I have the pumpkin spice latte but it's a different name yeah one
cinnamon dolce coming up one Italian word I'm only eating happens I want to
be a good boy you may have the other half that is delicious don't give a
shit your girlfriend's friend sister sister man no good delicious Baker go

said it there was no french grace to it you knew who i was talking about we did you know i guess
That's what saying a word is.
It's a French-ass name.
That's what I'm saying.
What's a French-ass name, Laurent?
You're wrong about the pie thing.
Pies are very good.
I don't like pie.
I feel like, here's the thing.
Pies aren't even that bad.
I guess we're fine.
Pumpkin pie sucks.
But it does.
Why do you hate cinnamon pie?
Yeah.
I don't understand why you hate creamy cinnamon pie.
Maybe I'm not a cinnamon guy.
Maybe put whipped cream on a pumpkin pie and eat it?
The whipped cream's the best part.
The thing here...
Whipped cream has no flavor!
The thing here, I'm trying to make clear here, is if you're going to spend calories, you spend it like a salary cap, right?
Are you going to spend it on the David Clarkson of desserts?
No offense, David.
But the David Clarkson contract of desserts, which is a very mediocre pie.
Or are you going to have something actually delicious, like a chocolate mousse?
Or a salted caramel cake?
Or a really good cupcake?
That's where you need to go.
Did my grandma fake her death
And become you
So your grandmother was right
No
A good apple pie is just as good as a good cake
Incorrect
I feel that
If you put some ice cream on it
Have some nice apple pie
That's not a pie
Yes it is, it's pie with ice cream on it
Alright fine
I will say
There's a restaurant in downtown
It's barely a restaurant
There's a place in downtown Toronto that calls itself a restaurant.
It's open 24-7 called the Lakeview.
Okay.
I don't know where this is.
It's the spot for every drunk kid who's ever been to Ryerson and has been drunk downtown.
It's open.
That place.
Right.
It's Franz or the Lakeview if you're going at 4 a.m.
And they have a milkshake that's an apple pie milkshake,
and it comes with a full slice of apple pie in the milkshake.
I keep forgetting Jesse is invincible.
Yo, your stomach must be made of iron.
It's a little...
Sometimes it lacks toast, but it's usually good.
The best types of pies are not apple pies, though.
I'd say a lot of the berry pies are really good.
Like a blackberry pie?
Nope.
I don't like blackberries.
What?
Oh, you're wrong.
No, no.
You're wrong.
No, but no.
You're wrong.
But you're wrong.
Oh, no.
Pittsburgh's actually good.
That's right.
You know, by the way, Penns fans are going to come back at me.
I know what they're going to say.
I'm going to, Clarence, parents had a great marriage this, okay?
I'm going to, Pittsburgh is going to do this.
Pittsburgh fans are going to be like, who have the Leafs beaten this year?
What are they going to say?
And they're right.
One more time?
Who have the Leafs beaten this year?
Is that going to be over in Pittsburgh?
No.
No.
Who have the Leafs taken down this year?
And they're right.
The Leafs have beaten Detroit twice.
blew a game against
Montreal. Beat Ottawa.
Beat Ottawa. Which is barely a team.
Absolutely right. But
I'm not the one in people's mentions going,
ah, the Leafs, they're 3-3-2.
Right? Right?
They're 3-2-1.
Is that what they are? Yeah. Or whatever they are.
Raspis Darlene.
Nico Heischer. Cares, man.
That's all I'm saying.
Leafs haven't beaten a real team yet either.
That's not the point. If pie is the only
thing available will you eat it or will you go you know it's funny we had we had thanksgiving
last night uh it was uh uh my mom my mom strangely my mom's in america so this is not a
this is not really thanksgiving for her so i've always had two thanksgivings and uh potentially
why i have the belly that i have and uh one day and so um my that's what i always say so my mom
uses it to go on vacation and she always goes to a steelers game on canadian thanksgiving
So this one happened to be in San Diego, or not San Diego, in L.A. for the Chargers.
Yeah, she watched the Steelers not be able to get a ball to Juju.
Yeah, the whole game.
They still won it somehow.
Thank God for Devin Bush.
But so it was me, my wife, and her husband, Jim, for dinner at their place.
Your wife's husband.
No, no, not my wife's husband.
My mom's husband.
He's just moved north from Seattle
And so we didn't want him to have his Thanksgiving alone
So we went over
And had a pumpkin pie there
And I cut the pie
I served the pie
I did not have a piece
I was like forget it not interested
If I'm going to have the calories
I would rather waste it on chocolate
What if you did it thoughtlessly and with reckless abandon
Like other people I know
I don't need to be let down again
Because it's not like I haven't tried
It's not like I haven't tried
A lot of people will be like, you need to try it.
Tried it.
Just not for me.
Just not my thing.
Who hurt you?
Pies.
It's not that I've been hurt.
It's like eating.
He was a clown in his last life.
Like, would you?
Think of the best food you could have.
What's the best food?
What's your favorite thing to eat?
Like, I don't know, lasagna or something.
Right.
A Panago pizza.
Now I offer you.
Panago pizza.
With a Crown Royal on top.
A lasagna Panago pizza.
I offer you.
With a Crown Royal on top.
I offer you a piece of Wonder Bread.
And a Ridge Wallet in my mouth.
Wow.
With like a delicious Ritz wallet.
And speaking of which, Dollar Shave Club.
I didn't get any shit for that.
Why should you?
Why?
Well, I sold out.
You have to make...
You sold out?
Oh, yeah, because making money is selling out.
That sucks.
Well, you know, if everybody could be like Garrett Sparks and just not be good enough
to make money.
First of all, I would kill to make money.
Garrett Sparks is hotter than my pie cake.
I'm sorry.
I'm eating the rest of this
because you're cyberbullying Garrett's party.
He's making money.
Yeah, that's why it's not fair.
He's making millions of dollars.
The point I'm trying to make here
is that
if you had a lasagna panago pizza
with a Crown Royal and Ridge wallet on top
or a piece of white bread
Brought to you by Leo Vegas.
What are you taking?
Both are carbs, but what are you taking?
You're taking the first option.
So the piece of white bread is what pies are to me based on other desserts
They just does not compare you are a sad strange. I'm not I am NOT and you have my pity. I am proud
Proud and strong and by the way when we posted that video on the Virgin radio Instagram talking about it there
There was a ton of people that came out and said thank you. Someone said it. Yep
Hi last thing
Either real high does not suck eat a real dessert Pittsburgh. Thank you
Jesse, do you have $22.80?
Do I have that amount of money?
Yeah.
Possibly.
What's it for?
Well, if you were to donate $22.80 to Rachel's Raiders on CelebrityHockeyClassics.com,
the Eric Lindros Celebrity Hockey Classic,
you would push Rachel's Raiders to $21,000.
Wow.
Wow.
We are rocking it
We are killing it as a team
We are absolutely killing it
There's Jesse
With $2,176 raised
There's TJ
From the Virgin Morning Show
Great show with TJ Jackson
Jesse is the producer
TJ is third behind Jesse
And Adam is
Let's see, let me scroll
You have to scroll
He is
$90.
It was $69. Somebody came in and ruined it.
Oh, God forbid they
donate. I know. Hey, thank you to the three guys
that have. We really appreciate it. What if you raised
$690 and then
did that several times so you could catch up to
Jesse? So here's what I was thinking, because the $69
gave me an idea. Someone
donated $19
so I could have $69.
Amazing. Which is hilarious.
So I have a $5,000
thing that I'm going for.
You really should have
started earlier, Adam.
Should have.
What if?
No, his one day idea
was always going to work.
What if?
It could have.
No, I still like that one.
What if I push...
We're not freaking PBS.
We don't have
like a phone line.
Hey, call in now.
Sorry.
What if I pushed it up
to $69.69
and 69 cents?
You want to raise
$69.69.
$6,969.
$6,969.
You think I can do it?
Help Adam Wilde reach the triple sex number.
Triple sex number.
And make a difference.
Is it your pin tweet?
I'm going to pin it.
Make it your pin tweet.
I haven't done it yet.
And help Adam reach the triple sex number.
That's right.
Help me raise money for a real cause.
Pittsburgh.
Yeah, you won't do it.
You won't do it.
You won't do it.
You won't do it.
You won't donate to a real team, Pittsburgh.
No, Pittsburgh's known for their lack of charity.
Yeah.
I always say.
That's me too.
Yeah, and also rich folks.
That one's kind of true.
Well, not really.
That wasn't before.
Now, maybe.
Yeah.
There's some money there now.
Yeah, for sure.
Medical, man.
But, I mean, they could just...
What if they just gave you some to prove a point?
They won't do it.
They won't.
Because they have yet to beat a real team.
Wow.
So they could sponsor a real team.
I'll pin it to my Twitter so you can find it.
We need to end.
Yeah, let's go.
I want to go home now.
It's about time.
I'm going to finish this donut.
I've got to go do a thing after this.
It's fun.
We're not even done yet.
So, party time.
Have a good one.
We'll see you Wednesday.
Two shows in three nights.
Don't bully me.
Oh, my God.
I won't show up.
You will.
It's your show.
That's regardless.
