well happy pride month everybody absolutely happy pride month and uh to mark pride month
um you know we're gonna be doing some special stuff with adam's history corner
um throughout the month and stuff like that and obviously we're gonna do we're doing some stuff
on our socials we also have uh what jesse can we talk about the can we talk about the the tournament
thing that we're involved in or no oh so they haven't put out their announcement yet so let
them do the okay we'll let them do the first one and then we'll follow them up we're very excited
about a thing that that the stpn is involved with which we hope you can get involved with too which
is super cool it ties into something we were talking about like a week and a half ago exactly
what and and for the adams history corner we talked about it and it was really important to
us to only do the sad and bad things that's right yes that's right and we said you know what let's
let's talk about the failures no no actually so here's i'm going to start the show today
and and normally i'll save it for adam's history corner and stuff but because it's the first day
of pride month i think it's important that we talk about um talk about this and and how much
things have changed in the last 50 years i think when when uh in toronto uh like i think it was
2016 black lives matter actually sat down in the middle of the parade and stopped the parade
because they wanted to make sure that the Pride Parade organizers in Toronto were recognizing
not just the party and fun aspect of Pride in Toronto, but also the fact that, you know,
especially transgender women have been, especially black transgender women have been marginalized.
There's a bunch of demands that they kind of put forward and it started a sequence of
events and a huge caused a huge controversy and i think it reminded people that pride is a protest
yes and and that's the thing right you know we grew up in toronto you see pride as it's a party
man yeah let's go to the parade right pride and caravana bud lights got rainbows on their cans
let's go you know what i'm saying but really pride is a protest first and foremost and you know i was
looking up sort of where some of these things began and and the one of the first rallies that
really took place and this is a really important one is the we demand rally which happened august
28 1971 in ottawa this is outside parliament and it was uh by the toronto gay action um the tga the
community homophile association of toronto which was called chat and a there was a parallel rally
in vancouver uh the gay alliance towards equality so obviously these groups have evolved over time
um but it's it this really started at least in this particular case as a gay rights activist
situation and obviously um i thought it was really interesting because i had a look at their demands
they had a 13 page document containing a list of the demands for canadian parliament and um when i
read off some of the demands you're not going to be surprised by them when i read off other ones
you're going to go wow that was when our parents were our age or a little bit younger it wasn't
that long ago my dad i think he turned into a teenager that year that's right so there we go
um the first was removing the word buggery and quote gross indecency as grounds for indictment
as a dangerous sex offender meaning that if you engaged in homosexual acts they could indict you
as a dangerous sex offender number two amendments to the divorce act to allow child custody to be
decided based on parental merit rather than sexuality if you were gay and you got divorced
you lost custody of your child wow geez number three removing homosexuality from the same
category as physical or mental abuse bestiality and rape for grounds of divorce this is the 70s
this is 60 71 yes anyone um amending the immigration act to allow homosexuals to
immigrate and enter canada not previously allowed uh number five instituting an equal age of consent
for both homosexual and heterosexual acts which did not previously exist they only had one for
heterosexual acts which meant that um it it gave a ton of gray area to all the terrible possibilities
that can happen if you don't put that into place you know what i'm saying um it's uh sorry for the
rcmp to disclose whether or not they've been spying on queer people working in the government
and to discontinue the practice immediately number seven equal employment and advancement
in all levels of government number eight allow gays lesbians and bisexuals to serve in the
military because they would have kicked you out before and i mean in the american militaries don't
ask don't tell until like 10 years ago uh number nine equal rights to be extended to lesbians
bisexuals and gays and remember these are all those those terms are probably the terms you're
most familiar with uh and there's a lot more terminology out there now but you have to remember
that 50 years ago it was a pretty rudimentary understanding of sexuality and gender and all
the other things that that we've seen especially come to light lately and so when i when i use
those terms i want you to understand that i'm using them in the context of the time yes that's
how we that's how people identify themselves at the time um and then number 10 removing the quote
uh removal of quote gross indecency and quote lewd acts from the criminal code and replacing
the terms uh equally applied to heterosexuals and homosexuals so if you were a heterosexual
gross indecency and quote lewd acts were not something you were capable of doing you had to
be a homosexual for those things to happen so when you got arrested for quote lewd acts everybody
knew what it meant rather than you know like if if let's say okay let's say you're having and who
hasn't done this right you're you're uh you're young you're living with your parents and you
and your partner are feeling a little horny that night and you go out to the park and you get a
little freaky in your car right sure okay if you're gay they're gonna call that a lewd act or
they're gonna call that gross indecency or they're gonna call it both if you're straight they're just
gonna call it sex in a public place yeah get out of here yeah they're gonna knock on your window
and send you home right so one of the uh i thought one of the most interesting things about this and
obviously um there's there was a commemorative march done about 11 years ago but as a direct
result of this rally the immigration act was amended uh it removed the ban on gay men from
traveling and immigrating to canada so if you were gay you could not travel here you could not come
all of the original 10 demands of the rally have since been met by laws they addressed and all the
laws have been amended uh but obviously it wasn't right away and i just think you know it's important
to understand when people go like you know you see the idiots are like oh this is a straight pride
month why do we need a gay pride month this happened so it's like a blink of an eye it's
they ask that every year it's like they have no interest in the answer funny isn't it if you ask
something once a year every year for many years you have no interest in the answer exactly you're
just kind of dumb exactly so um anyway the the reality of it is and you know obviously there's
been so many other protests that have done so many other things i think as canadians we don't
understand and we don't know our own history at all our history is taught terribly in this country
we don't know anything about it stuff like that is really important until i'd researched it i'd
never heard of it and um i'm gonna go through and profile um different names in hockey outside
of hockey we're gonna have some a few guests on as well i've got some people lined up which i'm
excited about um and we're gonna talk about some people that changed the world that you might not
have ever heard of you know what i mean like obviously there's prominent people who are 2s
lgbtq plus who you know about who've changed the world i'm gonna try to find some of the historical
figures that you don't and uh we went over some names over we had a meeting yesterday had some
names and i was able to stump everybody on the call and people did some pretty big things that
you've definitely heard of so i'm very excited about this you know obviously as i'm going through
this too there's going to be things that i probably get wrong throughout this month and that's what
the month's for it's for learning so if i do get it wrong feel free to reach out and be like hey
that was wrong and i'm sure i will hear from stpn staff who know this stuff intimately um if i do
get things wrong but i'm doing my absolute best to put forward something i think that you're gonna
you're going to love it's going to these are going to be great stories they're going to be fun
they're going to be enrapturing but also um ones that i think they're important to know and that's
why we do pride that's why we we want to be uh uh great allies on this show and on this company
frankly um and so everybody on the company in the companies behind it uh happy pride to you uh if
you're celebrating uh whether that's you know you directly or you as an ally uh we're very very
excited it's a fun month and damn it we're getting a we're getting a party here for the first times
it's 2019 oh yeah in toronto pride pride toronto is amazing it's an amazing experience can we talk
a little about uh the monetary aspects that's gonna come with our pride month oh okay why don't
you take that we're gonna have uh two main things right now that we're gonna announce that are gonna
be lead directly to donations for the 519 uh the 519 is is how most people refer to in toronto
uh correct me if i'm wrong um we're gonna be sending our donations there first place where
you can uh donate every single sale all proceeds from the sdpn shop this month will go towards the
519 so anything you buy anything you buy doesn't have to be our new pride collection which i'm
gonna get but so so yeah anything you buy off the shop all the proceeds there all of our profits
are going to go right to the uh 519 and so in our shop sdpn shop.ca we've added a whole bunch
of stuff there's some uh that's radic merch for the cj show because it's highly requested it needs
to be there and also uh for pride we've updated the entire pride collection there will now be um
different uh variations of the crab people flag so we have the no way crab logos and we're gonna
have the uh the lesbian flag we're gonna have the non-binary flag we're gonna have the the
asexual flag just oh we're gonna your whole host of them different colors uh find that there and
then we're also gonna have a sticker collection we're adding uh like tanks and hoodies and shorts
just for the summer so yeah go find look at there's a whole bunch of new merch too there's
some shorts we got some shorts now there's some new dangle navy merch go look at that i've updated
the entire collection uh stpn.ca and if you buy anything it's going right to our donation and
second place we're generating a little income for the community
our twitch so any uh any sub you make on the twitch channel this month that is twitch.tv
slash sdpn live uh any proceeds we uh make there will go directly to the 519 again so yeah sub to
our channel and uh adam because uh you have not ever done a twitch stream you said that this will
be the month jumping on because it's for charity it'll finally get your butt off your chair and
into the streaming chair in the driving streaming chair what are we doing are we doing are we
driving or are we doing i don't know you can do a solo one if you want to play assassin's creed
if you want to do f1 so i've been talking about doing assassin's creed because of the historical
stuff so i think that might be fun but um i just want to let you know what the 519 is by the way
you know it's important to have community centers in and around and and your city obviously will
have one as well if you're not toronto but the 519 is committed to that what they say the health
happiness and full participation of the lgbtq2s communities uh a city uh sorry it's basically a
city of toronto agency and essentially whether you need resources on this or you're somebody
that needs help or you're somebody that's learning whatever it is they have it for you and it's an
incredible organization um and obviously you know throughout the pandemic uh donations that sort of
thing have dropped off for everything so we really want to help them out and our um our streams by
the way um the money going from them will not just be in june um we're talking about and and i guess
we could talk a little bit about montreal should we talk about montreal a little bit sure so here's
the here's the ideal plan and and and we're talking about this as it's being planned because it's not
fully planned yet right but essentially um the we want to have a party on the first round evening
but steve's got to work with sportsnet i'd have never heard of them but apparently they're a big
deal and uh and so virgin and company yeah yeah they must be on their way up so what we're gonna
do is jesse and i are already gonna be in montreal so we're gonna do a um sidecast a sidecast of the
first round from our hotel room yeah and we're gonna all obviously all the funds are gonna go
to that so we're gonna go through the first round so i'm gonna do some research jesse gonna do some
research we're gonna we're gonna do our own draft breakdown damn it yeah and we'll see who else is
there i mean like julian's gonna be in town cj's gonna be in town alan's gonna be in town
um we're gonna bring all the sdpn out so we haven't got the travel plans fully finalized
but we're excited because everybody we want everybody to be there um and then on the friday
night we haven't picked a venue yet uh we're on our way to doing so we're trying we're trying it's
just one one venue wants to charge like so much money like ten thousand ten thousand dollars for
an evening i was like okay all right pump the brakes so we're trying to find a venue um and
We'd like to have a full-on get-together.
We want to bring everybody in,
get all the shows up on stage for a little bit.
That's night two of the draft, right?
Night two.
And even Alan's like,
well, I'm coming to that.
So I think...
He might be bringing the fourth overall pick.
Yeah, maybe we'll see.
We'll see where he goes.
Or first.
Or first.
Could be first.
Never know.
Could go off the board.
A wild card.
You never know.
So I think with Montreal having the first overall pick
and that sort of thing,
it's going to be an exciting time.
We are going to throw a party
just to say thank you for a great season.
And honestly, we haven't done a live thing
in a long, long time.
I won't be this sick.
No, you won't, nor will I.
And then, of course, part of the draft.
Here, have this, Halls.
The draft, obviously, stream.
That will also go to the 519 as well.
And we've got some other initiatives
we're going to announce,
but that's how we're kicking off Friday.
The Thursday during the draft,
Adam Maldonado will be live streaming.
Friday, we're going to be with all the people.
We're all going to be out there.
it's gonna be a good little three days in montreal funny enough i might be too actually i don't think
i told you that you might be what streaming from montreal so you'll be streaming i might be yeah
get out of here you're supposed to be at oh yeah where are you i know we don't have finalized
plans oh my god i'll tell you let us know what it is yeah we'll figure out something i thought i
told you and then when you said that i'm like i have not told you have not told us okay well
we'll figure it out i figured out what it is it's all good so uh let's get into it was it a goal
guys edmonton and colorado was it offside was it offside i guess that's not the right yeah
is that an offside or is that not an offside kale mccarr carrying the puck in valerie natush kid
trying to get back to tag up and what they what happens is jay woodcroft obviously edmonton
oilers coach challenges this and you don't blame him for challenging this because it looks offside
very offside that's the problem to me that's the big problem here uh and to me that's an easier
problem to solve than the offside rule because apparently that was fully within the rules right
right because what they said and i say apparently not tongue-in-cheek like i learned something what
they said was that um that because mccarr never handled the puck after the blue line ridiculous
it's that he did not quote have possession of the puck ridiculous therefore it's not offside
technicality right yes and as if you're an oilers fan that probably drives you crazy because you
know kale mccarr's possession numbers and you know he always possesses the puck i'd be curious
so they do keep track of uh offensive zone time right and colorado had a distinct advantage in
that category uh does that count does that count towards the total what i'm gonna get like towards
the Avs offensive zone possession?
The .5 seconds?
I mean, whatever. It all counts, man.
Like, okay.
It's .5 seconds and it seems
little, but he had it or he didn't.
That's...
He has it.
He has it. He's the only person
who has
any shot of
getting that puck. It's right
there. It's his.
And like, he passed it
to himself
guys it's he has possession of the puck the only thing i will listen to and give credit the nhl for
is that they have set this precedent and that this exact play has happened several times didn't it
happen a few years ago colorado avalanche didn't happen to the apps i think it was matt duchesne
yeah well no it wasn't duchesne was it duchesne no it was uh i guess we're talking about something
different i know i think that they're having the arizona coyotes i know for sure and it also
happened i have it up here with uh charlie mcavoy and the uh bruins versus canucks it was it's the
exact same play where he comes in off sides uh they deem that the little check forward of the
puck it technically counts as a dumping loose puck dumping it into the zone as a loose puck
because your deke you lose you lose the puck and you punch it forward and that he was uh on side
so they they had they have set this precedent where they have called this exact same play before
right i don't agree with the interpretation of the rule at all that's that's the thing that i
think is the is the sticking point is that's ridiculous that a little push forward of the
puck in the deke is counted under the rule book as a drop of possession i think if you do that
you still have possession in the reality of the world that we live in i don't see how you look
at that play and say kill mccart didn't have possession of the puck i think that's the reality
that we should live in and not this stupid thing the nhl does where they slow it down to a fraction
of a second and they take it back it's stupid every game both teams should have maximum one
minute of puck possession then yeah because how often is the puck actually on anybody's stick
when you're moving the puck with your stick it's not directly on your stick at the exact moment
but when you slow it down frame by frame it's not on the stick possession is it it's it's literally
like it's like a dog off leash right it's sometimes it's walking with you sometimes it's
not and and i that's how i look at puck possession is it's not it's not direct control at all times
but if you're controlling the direction of the puck then which kale mccarr obviously was now
jesse do you mind turning down my headphones just a little just furthest to the left there
so so here's here's the issue i have i've got the delayed offside rule in front of it here
so here's the here's the problem if during the course of a delayed offside any member of the
attacking team touches the puck attempts to gain possession of a loose buck forces the defending
puck carrier to further back down in his own zone uh or is about to make physical contact defending
the puck carry lines which will stop play now i'm assuming that that's if that's in you know
after the blue line right yeah if during a delayed offside an attacking player in the attacking zone
elects to proceed to his player's bench i can be replaced by a teammate blah blah blah i just
if you if you're going to write it down in the rule like okay if if they're trying to attempt
to gain possession which is what clearly kale mccarr is trying to do even though so even though
it's not in that zone yet kale mccarr kicked it up to himself right to gain possession yes he didn't
kick it up to dump it in he didn't kick it up to give it away he kicked it up to gain possession
attempt to gain possession is for me where this falls apart there was a great conversation
it was like if 90 of the people watching have no idea what's going on you don't have a good rule
that's interesting you don't have a good rule i was watching and i'm like well this is yeah
it's cut and dry natushkin still in the zone mccarr enters there you go and then they announce
goal and i'm just like i i have no idea what happened and whenever like frege has to get out
the phone book size rule book and be like so here's the actual rule like guys are you interested
at all even in passing of growing the sport like holy shit holy actual shit
why is this so hard it's always so hard and oilers i think they they do get jobbed here
and it might not even necessarily be on the interpretation of the rule because the way you
put it jesse at least they do have a relatively recent precedent that this is how the rule is
called okay fine yeah the penalty for a failed challenge was put in place for coaches who were
abusing the challenge system they were challenging every bloody goal for offside they were challenging
every bloody goal for goalie interference they were challenging goals that had no shot of being
overturned they were i'm using that word very intentionally because that's what they were doing
they were abusing the system jay woodcroft has a great point like that is absolutely can we all
agree as hockey fans that was absolutely worth looking at yes yes so why is he being punished
for it in that's stupid in the nfl when you fail a challenge you lose your challenge and you lose
a timeout in uh the nba when you fail a challenge and you lose the challenge you lose your challenge
and you lose a timeout in the nhl you should lose a challenge and lose your timeout why must they go
to be that extreme yeah why did they i think because then if you lost you if you if you
had a challengeable play early in the game you lost your timeout then you got another one you
couldn't challenge it didn't edmonton get a timeout anyway what's that didn't edmonton have
a timeout anyway in this game i don't know i can't no but that's that's how sure you should
lose your timeout lose your challenge every other league has figured this out why did the nhl move
away from that it's like let's say let's say they got the rule right this is how it should go fine
great i'll meet you there the oilers should not have had to kill a penalty so it's a two-goal
swing there's no this ridiculous uh penalty on top of using a challenge the challenge is to correct
the wrong thing the refs did like why can't i check it out that's not jay woodcroft abusing
the system that is a totally legit challenge he shouldn't have been punished for it i loved
i gotta say i loved his press conference afterwards he's saying you know sometimes like
he was like he's like i didn't see him lift his stick like intentionally to do this like
he was talking about the spirit of the rule and what i think is interesting i want to i want to
bring up a couple of tweets that i'm just actually just were tweeted in the last 20 minutes carlo
koliakovo former player now morning show host in toronto ray ferrara obviously with tsn and i
believe espn and states or tnc one of the two espn um both former players carlo koliakovo said
i think rewriting or rewarding the nhl rulebook should be a priority this offseason so the game
of hockey can stop being so complicated for some right there's been enough controversy in these
playoffs to warrant it time to get that right now ray ferraro retweeted and quote tweeted and said
100 agree carlo i've said for a few years that rewarding penalties and plays so everyone can
understand them should be a priority i suggested it and was told of its difficulty and then ray
goes who cares how hard it is it should be done and will help the game uh that's already better
than it's ever been what a bunch of failures pay somebody to do it yeah like what's wrong with you
what a bunch of abject failures like i'm not talking about carlo coliacavo and ray ferraro
you're not doing something that'll make your sport better because it's hard you're a failure
sarah civian failure sarah civian responded to that and she said i've asked a few people about
this and they say it's about a five-year process to start rewriting the rule book okay let's start
today yeah you'll be if it's a five-year process why don't you just hire a bunch more people
just hire 30 people to do it yeah do it there's just rewrite individual rules like you don't
the whole rule book at once too many too many people have had their gig for way too long
yeah that's ridiculous five years get out of my face we need to get to a point where
if something is obvious to the naked eye everybody sees something you say oh look at this look at
this play look at this video this is offside that's what needs to be the call not when we
slow it down and you reinterpret the rules to this weird nonsense that you've come up with
then you make a call based on that it needs to be so obvious and clear to all of the hockey fans
i'm trying to figure out this why is it why is it that intent of a rule is so rarely looked at
like they boil this shit down to like to the actual word so let me let me put this into
context for you a little bit you've been to uh you've seen a segment let's say you're watching
tnt or espn or sportsnet or tsn whatever you're watching right and you've seen a really good
segment let's let's call it the tnt panel for basketball charles barkley has a really good
point but you can bet that charles barkley is going to fuck up the grammar at some point
throughout that segment right he's known for that he's hilarious and he mispronounces words all the
time but he still has a really good point and you get the intent of what charles barkley's trying to
say right do we then afterwards as producers do we then go in and say charles listen i think you
would have had a good point there but you mispronounced terrible and uh you said this
wrong and this wrong so therefore everybody lost the point and what i'm saying is with the play in
the nhl when you watch the play at the speed it's supposed to be watched at yeah not breaking it
down word by word in that case or frame by frame in this case you could clearly see what's going on
i don't understand why we need to break it like listen break it down frame by frame if you want
to know if the entire puck crossed the line i'm talking about entire puck crossing the goal line
by the way not the blue line okay but offside the offside thing the other thing about offsides too
and and we haven't talked about this in a bit but you know you could play play could go on for 45
more seconds and then a coach could challenge after a goal and have it called back like there
has to be some sort of thing where you get it or you didn't you there adam i'll take it a step
further there has to be incentive to cheer when your team scores yeah cheer when your team scores
okay that's that's what was brutal is like so i wasn't streaming those games i a couple years ago
when the offside reviews were rampant and the goal interference i stopped cheering after goals
like in my house i just i stopped cheering after goals because i i don't know i might be getting
called back yeah we saw in game seven by the way was that the first west macaulay game seven this
playoffs where he didn't call back a goal that should have been a goal oh because he had the
toronto one he's had like three and then he had another one uh but yeah the the rangers carolina
one was i think the only one where he didn't call back a goal that was clearly a goal that's kind of
funny he didn't do coleman did he do coleman i don't think he did another one i think it was
macaulay and furlough yeah he was the one who made the call yeah yeah that that tandem is just if
that's the best they got oh my god it is that's what they whenever you get game seven over and
over again that's the whole angel hernandez thing i want to be able to do the world series
they in a court document they're like you can't because you're bad
but he's protected by his union so he still has a job but there is a court document saying angel
hernandez is bad as a job wow he's just not good enough to do the world series he's also terrible
he's always on scouting the umps um i so so beyond all that beyond the fact so we're all
in agreement that probably should have been called back it's a dumb interpretation of a rule book
like that said be a shame uh euler score first um also just on the play darno nurse is biggest
bailout ever in the history of time what a bad play there was 14 seconds 14 seconds left in the
period, and he sends the puck
kind of blindly off the boards
right onto Cael McCarr's stick. You just tied
it. You just, like, yeah,
momentum murderer. Dude, you
right now should be getting ripped to shreds
if this play is clearly onside.
That was awful game, awful play.
Oilers fans are, yeah,
he's had... Are Oilers fans even talking about that
this morning, though? Uh, well,
I mean... I think they're talking about
McCarr, maybe, but, like, no.
Nurse had a bad game. Uh, no, people aren't
too happy about his performance in these playoffs.
and he's been getting some tough assignments
and doing a little bit of sinking and swimming.
But yeah, that's a very good point, Jesse,
because in the moment I was like, oh, what a dumb play.
But then the review sort of wrecked it all.
I do remember, however, in real time being like,
I'm fairly certain that's offside.
I didn't say it out loud because things were happening so fast,
but I'm like, there's no way Nachushkin cleared the zone.
and turns out he didn't but it also turns out he didn't have to so i don't know it's a very
silly sport and i don't get it and uh the problem is no one gets it right so darn on there should
be ashamed of and yeah that was that was a bad play i mean holy shit i mean the oilers are
so fun well this is what i wanted to talk about both starting goalies pulled
mike smith after six goals on 25 shots darcy kemper after an upper body injury he'd already
allowed three goals and my question to you guys is which goalie are you most worried about and
let me give you this before you answer that question here's mike smith's career game ones
with the oilers dude this is unbelievable he is five career games he's oh and three
six seven seven ga 823 save percentage and he's been pulled three times and you know the funny
part about it is that uh he's come he he carried them through the gallery series too well it's
crazy the only reason the only reason his record is only oh and three oh because there were so
many goals in game one of the battle of alberta that he was no longer the goalie of record
that's insane and that's how i have three goals obviously that happened at another point as well
right because he's played five game ones dude and he's been pulled three times and he's got
an 0-3 record i thought both goalies in relief like in a really tough position in relief played
really well yes and i think honestly i think both teams should be totally comfortable if they decide
to uh playing those goalies um the avs shouldn't be worried if kemper's not ready to go for game
two franzosa's a perfectly capable backup he had a great season um and he he made some really key
saves down the stretch miko koskinen kind of held the oilers in that game both uh frankie and
koskinen allowed one bad goal each i well i don't even know about bad goal like the the koskinen one
was an odd man rush and you got to pick one he chose the wrong guy whatever um can't remember
exactly oh jesus the one franco's allowed was that ridiculous uh dry sidle to mcdavid yes he
might have allowed to i might be getting it wrong because you might have allowed the the nuge one
uh both goalies were great crazy yeah yeah well and i so this is what i wanted to ask you guys
um what goalie which goalie would you be more worried about if you're not worried if you're
less worried which team is more worried about their goaltending today is it mike smith getting
pulled is it tarcy kemper getting injured i mean probably kemper getting injured because uh with
mike smith you're a couple bad goals away from having a decision to make with kemper uh if he
is injured you're a tweak here or a tweak there away from i don't know who's their third goalie
your third goalie jonas johansson like kemper to franzos there's not much of a drop off to the next
guy yes there is it's the michael hutchinson situation yeah michael hutchinson who won two
of three elimination games for them.
We forget that Frantzos was the starting
goalie, and then Sakic
was like, alright, I need somebody
else in here. So, like, you shouldn't
be too worried about Frantzos. It's just, yeah,
if there's anything else, if anybody
else needs to come in, then it's
you're in trouble. For as long as he's on
the ice, they're fine. The second he
leaves it, you might have a problem. And like you said, they played
well. See, you should have some confidence
in both goalies there, if you need to go to
them. Yep, big saves. Big saves.
Big saves, big moments.
I think the most impressive thing about the Oilers is that team can be five goals down
and always know that they come back.
And I think the thing is, is that they never believe that they're out of it.
And the scary part is they're not.
Because they're not.
They know they can do this.
And I just felt last night, I know they lost, but I just felt last night, doesn't this look
like a team that's going to make the Stanley Cup finals?
The Oilers?
When they're coming back like that.
And listen, I know they had not the best game defensively.
i know mike smith had a mike smith game one but he also had a mike smith game one against la
and he had a mike smith game one against calgary yeah and i'm not a mike smith believer like i'm
not i'm like i still think it was a huge mistake to sign him to a two-year contract rather than
going out and getting a guy but listen look what he's done look what he's done in these playoffs
man that guy i mean he even shot a puck to another team and they let and let in a goal and it's still
you know what i mean yep he's just one of those people you're like fuck i don't i can't believe
it i refuse to believe it but the results i think are going to be there and with the oilers scoring
the way they do man like i just i think they're let me let me throw this out there uh most multi
point games within a third within 13 postseason contests i fucked that up so let me read it again
most multi-point games within a 13 postseason contests i think there might be a spelling error
that's why i fucked it up uh number tied for second wayne gretzky 1985 with 10 multi-point
games within 13 he's tied with wayne gretzky 1983 10 multi-point games within 13 and in first place
connor mcdavid 2022 with 11 wow now here's the terrifying thing dry sidle is performing or
producing just as well if andrew kane leads the playoffs in goals hyman i believe has seven goals
in his last six games or seven in his last seven ryan nugent hopkins is starting to catch fire
they got a fourth line goal last night what did i say when jay woodcroft was hired depth depth
it's it's really helped the oilers out and part of the reason they're never out of it is you can't
just worry about mcdavid dry sidle cane and woodcroft hasn't been afraid to get the blender
out too sometimes it's mcdavid dry sidle cane mcdavid dry sidle hyman i wouldn't be surprised
to see nuge get a look dude it's a really it's a deep team it's a deep team they're getting
production from their depth not a crazy amount but enough that they're never out of a game amazing
that one coach can make a team that looked like it had no depth turn it turned it into depth in
20 games in the regular season we've seen coaches do it for a stretch you know i'm interested to see
how next full season goes and you know does the shine wear off a little bit but so others teams
yeah whenever he runs out the kane mcdavid drives out of line they seem to get any type of score
chance they want and usually score a goal and if edmonton gets any type of defense in this series
from what we've seen in game one they have a real shot at winning four games and like i don't hate
the idea of them being the stanley cup final and just to add to your stats that you uh were reading
there steve leon dry sidle set a new record last night oh my god he has now the most consecutive
multi-assist games in stanley cup history it is dry side oh with six in a row six multi-assist
games next up doug gilmore wayne gretzky rick middleton and tony curry he passed those who
were all tied at five and dry settle sits alone at in first at six he looked a little better team
he like he looked a little bit more mobile yeah i was gonna say he didn't he didn't look um as
sluggish like he's injured something's her his right ankle sprain i believe is that all it is
yeah geez but it does affect people right yeah of course those high ankle sprains are crazy it's
like i know what affects people i know it's dumb to say but like you're you don't realize how much
until like a really good player gets one
and they slow right down.
Oh, that shot block from Andrzej Borikoski last night.
I reacted out loud on the stream.
Like I stopped calling the game to go,
oh, because it hits him right on the inside of the knee.
I can't believe he returned to that game.
Yeah, and with the Blues press conference,
I assume we'll get to that,
but like we got some of the injuries
that they were dealing with too.
And like we say, oh, it's a dry side of his foot,
but like what else is he have going on?
You know, what does McDavid have injured?
what all the abs have injured after that tough series you know yeah he has no ribs
like oh yeah our star player has no ribs their organs are just floating around like a bag of
milk he actually took out his thighs and he's playing with no thighs it happened with uh 20
games left in the regular season and he's opted to wait to play through it like hockey players
are ridiculous man they are they are i think was no skull in looking at the st louis one i think
It was just Shen alone
Multiple rib injuries
Yeah
That was the one
They got me
I'm like
What is multiple
Rib injuries
Like is it both sides
Is it up and down
Like what does that look like
You only have X amount of them
I know
That's weird right
One rib broken twice
Right
This is
Oh my god
And we got the Freddy news
That he was dealing
With a torn MCL
Which he suffered
In early April
And he was trying
To come back like now
I'm like that's a quick
Turn around for a tear
You know
Like these guys
They're fighting
Through everything
At all times

What did you guys think of Game 7, Carolina, New York?
It actually turned out to be a fun game.
A fun-ish game.
But listen, I'm thrilled the series is over.
You guys know.
That series has been happening since the dawn of time.
Once Ranta went out, the game was over.
I told you I would be surprised if there was a blowout.
And this is not what I meant.
This is not what I meant.
Do we know what Ranta has now?
An injury.
No, I don't know.
Right.
Which is something he's been struggling with.
I think, obviously, people are criticizing the Rangers because, you know, both series, they had the starting goaltender go down.
Jari and whatever.
Have we learned nothing?
We didn't give the Montreal Canadiens any credit last year.
Oh, Tavares is injured.
They didn't play a number one center.
And then Scheifele's suspended.
They didn't play a number one center.
Chandler Stevenson is out.
And then he comes back and the Vegas Golden Knights get worse.
They don't know how to play Fleury and Leonard.
Yeah.
Oh, and then, yeah, they essentially chased Fleury out of Vegas.
you know um so here we are once again doing the same shit it's a team in the final four
in a 32 team league you can't give them credit come on guys well and the thing is too it's like
okay um yeah they they they played louis deming but that was after i think game three or game four
and yeah they played the backup to andy ranzan and you know obviously freddie anderson was injured
because freddie anderson was injured two months ago and andy ranza they didn't get him out of
the net like he wasn't injured until like midway through game seven right i don't know they were
winning and everyone seemed to agree he was having a great series so what the hell i know it's weird
carolina's a good team like they didn't they did not beat a good team so so then this is what i
wanted to ask how good do you think it felt for uh uh for the rangers and i i hate to make this
player i try not to make them a topic at all oh come but yeah but you can't but you gotta talk
about the tony d'angelo thing 100 the fact that they first off that they broke carolina's win
streak at home you know they did it in their building and they did it against tony d'angelo
that has to feel good for a lot of the players on the rangers and management it should say something
to the carolina hurricanes and their i'm gonna say over recent history they've been likable
right very likable yeah so much fun it should say something to how likable the team is that
people weren't necessarily making fun of the hurricanes for losing to the rangers they were
like haha tony d'angelo's out like he's i don't think he's a match for the national hockey league
but he's definitely not a match for the carolina hurricanes like right listen i understood he put
up a lot of points i don't think people were ever doubting he was going to put up a lot of points i
don't think skill was ever the issue no it super wasn't you don't get suspended for putting up too
many points you know what i mean and you don't get punched by your goalie for putting up too
many points right you get it for being an asshole right and every game where he and the team went
into new york they lost wow good but they lost every game in every game on the road well yeah
they lost every game in new york but i think it's important that again you know he probably lost him
he wanted to go to msg and make a and make a statement you know that and it just didn't happen
whoops yeah it's i don't know i'll be happy for the day we don't have to i think about him as a
player anymore well i i think it's one of those things where listen i'm i'm all about people uh
i'm all about contrition i'm all about improvement growing i'm all about that i think absolutely
people like you know i always get that again the occasional message would be oh you don't like
they could grow like yeah but they haven't as soon as i see that they have i'm all for it i'm
all for a comeback i'm all for change i'm all for that but this guy i mean really he he has he has
the history he has um i mean he threw out his twitter because he couldn't handle it which i
suppose is realizing your faults now he's better than me um i think i don't know i think the
reality is in carolina i mean what what do you even say about for the carolina hurricanes that's
a damn good hockey team i want to know what you guys think about what brindamore said after the
game because i'm trying to find the exact quote but it's essentially he says we have a really
good team but we don't have a really good elite goal scorer and him calling out his his players
there uh and saying we don't have an elite goal scorer what did you guys think about that quote
i think that's calling out a young team and they might not like hearing it it's calling out a guy
like sveshnikov it's calling out a guy like sebastian ajo who's making 8.5 million dollars
thank you very much mark bergevin um and it's i mean he is kind of right is it like a matthews
but very few teams do.
Is it a message to the GM to go get me a guy?
Could be.
Could be a lot of things.
It could be a message to the owner
to get off your wallet
and help us out with some elite goal scoring,
go make a big move.
I don't know who they were supposed to.
I think if you objectively look at their forwards,
Aho, Svechnikov, Stahl,
Terrovainen, Kokuniemi,
Fost, Martinuk,
Seth Jarvis is developing,
and then you got Nikes and Lawrence,
or i'm sorry niches niches is i think the best chance they have at that uh maybe well and suppose
like he had trouble getting in the lineup and then and then give me some martin niches then
you got if you don't want him all my god he's amazing yeah domi nita rider steppen and uh
trocheck are all ufas but like nobody on that line lineup i would say objectively is an elite
goal scorer it's a really it's a really solid deep team but they do lack the elite level he's
can i read the quote just so i don't uh i don't get accused of putting any words in his mouth
so rod brindamore post game says i always think the team is good it's just do we have elite goal
scorers maybe not but we have great players we're built a little differently than some teams you've
got to play to your strengths i think we did that but it just didn't work out going in tonight there
were five teams left playing that says something we've got to come back next year and be better
now it's a challenge it's a challenge to everyone in the locker room saying that
sebastian ajo had 37 goals this year yeah is he calling out ajo uh andre svechnikov
had 30 goals this year calling out svesh that's not elite yeah oh is it so let me just so we're
clear on that is 38 goals no longer elite goal scoring in the nhl not this year no not with the
amount of 30 goals you qualified as pretty damn good like absolutely let's look at it as what he
called it i think he's challenging them for this summer take another step yeah you got 37 where's
40 get into the elite company you got 30 where's 35 yeah yeah okay let me uh let me have a look
here uh stat leaders i'm just i'm just gonna pull up uh goal i don't want postseason i want regular
season and i want uh goals complete leaders okay so tell me where the cutoff is where it goes from
elite goal scoring to very almost super good i like that okay okay all right so we got matthews
at 60 we're going we'll go down to number five in the league kareel kaprizov had 47 yes that is
an elite that's an elite i'll go five spots down um tied at 9 10 11 12 uh is stamkos kachuk
forsberg and lindholm with 42 is that elite
it depends what the definition of elite is because that's what i'm trying to figure out
here the gap the gap between first place and that is almost 20 goals i think we this conversation
lends a lot to your,
Steve Engel,
your Hall of Fame argument.
When you hear the name,
you should just know.
And I think when you hear
the name Stephen Stamkos,
you say that's an elite goal scorer.
He is.
When you hear the name...
Kachuk is now.
Have to be.
When you hear the name Lindholm,
do you immediately say
is that an elite goal scorer?
Do it one more time.
He had an elite season.
Elias Lindholm.
Jake Gensel.
I'm not sitting here saying...
Johnny Gaudreau.
David Pasternak.
40-40-40. Barkoff
39. I hear the name David
Pasternak, I say elite goal scorer.
Tate Thompson.
Best player in the NHL, Tate Thompson.
We also don't know how many of those guys missed
any time. Tate Thompson, Jesus.
Well, Matthews had 70. Matthews, of
all the people in the top 10, except for
Phillip Forsberg, missed the most time.
But there's like an 18 goal spread between the two of them.
Forsberg's an elite goal scorer. Yeah, you should just know.
You should just know. But here's
the thing. What they're asking
for at that point, by the way, Matt Duchesne in number
eight at 43 goals what a season wow um i i uh i ask you if i'm the general manager if i'm waddell
in carolina who of these guys of these quote-unquote elite guys could i possibly fucking
get there's one guy who in the top 10 there's one guy that i'm going to be able to get this year
who's that actually two who's william kneeland cadro i'm joking yeah horace burke you also got
your own guys yeah you do but which is so that's what brindamore is doing okay but oh oh at 38 so
he's right on the cusp right we can agree on that of elite goal scoring we put it into 42 43 goals
that's elite the majority of the carolina hurricanes aho included are either in their prime or entering
it so he's challenging a very good team borderline elite team to be elite to cross the borderline
to be elite to to make the next step yeah they lost six two they only had two you know what i
mean they're capable of more than that and and i gotta tell you man everybody's talking about
carolina being like oh it's gonna be a rough summer for them it's gonna be really tough
what i see this i see this is an exciting summer these guys could do whatever they want
this is a fucking like they have so much cap space and they've drafted so well they've drafted so
well their their defense is set you've got slave and you got shea you got pesci you've got chapfield
ethan bears an rfa you know that you can keep some of the guys you need to keep you probably
can augment your defense but you have got one of the best forward free agent crops out there right
now and don't tell me that a guy like philip forsberg or johnny goudreau or any of the other
guys that are available who can score a lot of goals aren't a great fit here do not confuse
having decisions to make with being in a bad position right the carolina hurricanes have
decisions to make they're in a great position they're in like they have all sorts of good
players. That's what the best teams
have. That's a great position.
Leading goal scorer is 24. The next one
is 22. Yeah, come on, guys.
Come on, guys. Yeah, and he's challenging these
young men to get out
there and hit the gym as hard as Rod Brindamore
did when he was a player.
Still does. Still does.
He got locked out of a gym
by his, was it his school?
I don't know the story. Yeah, go look it up.
They're like, Rod, you can't go in the fucking gym. And they had to
close it. Why? Because he just
kept going like a maniac.
He just went like all the time.
You know, no one talks about it,
but the reason the Legion of Doom,
I think we're able to be the Legion of Doom
and Eric Lindros towards it.
Like when they were at their best
is because Brynden Moore was playing defense.
Those guys could go fucking hog wild
because the coach could throw out the Brynden Moore line.
And as long as he was out there,
when he was playing at Philly,
you could do anything you wanted.
Did the Habs have elite goal scoring last year?
No, not really.
But Philip Deneau was like, don't worry, boys.
I got it.
All that boring defense stuff.
I got it handled.
You go and have fun.
And Philip Deneau gets 20 goals this year.
just because hilarious yeah i i to be honest with you one of the teams that i'm most excited to see
what they do this summer is carolina because they've been let's be honest they've been a
little cheap they've been a little cheap yeah right they've been a little cheap right the
owners notoriously likes to sit on his wallet yeah and listen i guess that's how you become
a billionaire yeah is you sit on your wallet but i just think it's pretty pretty cool the position
that they've got like they're not playing they're not not a single player on this roster is getting
paid more than 8.6 million and that's aho svetch is the next closest like does he have a does he
have a extension kicking in uh svetchnikov does it's already kicked in aho's uh got next year in
the year after and then he's a ufa they walked him right to ufa with this contract who's they
carolina oh i guess montreal did yeah crazy pain in the ass pain in the boots key wouldn't it be
funny if he signed in la wouldn't it be funny if carolina offer she did someone else from montreal
all right so we got lightning rangers tonight okay yes and we're gonna play a game called yes or no
do they score we or no and this is a yes or no do they score a goal in the series okay okay this
proves see what what i think is going to happen is i think in edmonton um colorado i think it's
gonna be high scoring of course yeah you think you're really going out on a limb tampa rangers
i think it's gonna be low scoring yeah you got two of the best goalies in the league right so
that's why i think this is important so who is gonna score a goal and jesse and steve i'm asking
you both and then i will give you the sports interaction odds you're ready these are the
odds for scoring a goal tonight is it tonight yes okay so tonight who scores the goal tonight
okay yes or no chris kreider
i needed 47 goals this year
no no okay so that you would have okay value on that it's a 142 but if you do yes and he
and it hits it's 270 it's not an elimination jesse what do you are you take your yes or no
chris crider no chris guy does not score tonight steven stamkos yes or no tonight no i got no on
steven no one's the road team uh yes they are it's at new york yes on the road why on the road
i have the vision okay with the vision i think the best value one has got to be nikita kucherov
no is a 138 yes is a 285 are you taking nikita kucherov oh really yeah oh i'm still gonna say
no. Is Tampa not
going to score any goals this year?
Okay. Alright.
I'll take yes. You'll say yes.
Zabina Jad. Yes or no? Yes.
No.
On the yes, it's a 320. On the no, it's a 130.
All the no's are going to be super low, so I'll
just tell you the odds on the yeses.
Okay. Kalorn. Yes or
no?
Yes, he's due. 380 on that.
Oui. Same as, or just
a little higher than Zabina Jad. Jesse, Kalorn.
Kalorn, no.
Palat.
Yes.
That feels like a yes.
Okay.
Ross Colton.
No.
No.
Believe it or not, Palat and Colton have the same odds for a yes.
Really?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Colton's been good.
Lafreniere.
Okay.
No.
Yes.
Use a yes.
He scores a goal.
All right.
At 430.
Alexis gets it done.
Okay.
I'm going to sneak down a little bit here.
I'm going to sneak down a little bit here.
Okay.
Ready?
Mm-hmm.
To score a point.
okay i love this one what you got all right to support score a point do you give victor headman
a point tonight headman uh gets a point tonight power play past the standoff believe it or not
the riskier bet is no what the hell yeah it's a 215 his i guess he's pretty his odds to score
are lower are higher than than lower okay it's more it's more likely he gets a point than not
They're not, yeah.
Okay, let me give you, here's one for Leaf fans.
Nick Paul, to score a point, no is a 160, yes is a 220.
What do you take?
No, despite you and Berkshire.
I didn't like that tweet.
Really?
I thought that tweet was hilarious.
By the way, can you tell us what happened with Berkshire?
Can you explain that one?
so basically um nick paul was i believe him and jason spezza were traded for each other okay
or no he was traded no yeah it was for each other he was traded either from the dallas stars to the
sins or his pick was traded from the dallas stars to the sins in the jason spezza train and then he
was and then he ended his career by scoring two goals in game seven and i paid him um
that's so funny that's that's the right reaction um i thought the odds for tampa
and new york were a lot closer than one would expect okay so we've got tampa 169
new york at 220 tonight just for the game does that seem right to you because you i
everybody in their right mind's going tampa's winning this year everyone everyone is saying
it tampa doesn't know i saw espn was uh pro rangers what yeah i was surprised i was surprised
um i'm gonna say like tampa doesn't need to win game one okay to win a series we know this um so
i'm gonna give tonight to the rangers that makes sense that doesn't mean i'm giving them the series
it's crazy to me that a home team is getting a goal and a half on the puck line yeah like
They're the underdogs in starting of a series
A game one
I think everybody's grossly overrating
Tampa in a game one
I think they win the series
But I think New York wins tonight
They haven't played in over a week
I feel like that counts
For something
Rust or health
You can go either way with it
People always during the playoffs
They're like oh this team's been off
And they're like they're going to be really healthy
They're going to be really rusty
Which side are you picking
No, they'll be quicker and more durable in the wrong direction.
All right.
Do you take the over or the under on five and a half goals?
So do they get, do they hit six or do they hit five?
I'm taking the over.
You're taking the over.
And I just said it was too low.
It's too low.
Five and a half.
They can, you can hit six goals.
I punched the under in the throat.
I'm taking Rangers and over.
Wow.
Okay.
I don't know about that one, Jesse.
I think there's going to be low scoring all the way through.
now is this series there's no bet on this on sports interaction but is is this series going
to be more interesting than the canes ranger series or is it going to be a continuation of
the canes ranger series i am very excited for the cat and mouse game that cory perry and ryan
reeves play i i mean if you're ryan reeves what is your job neutralize cory perry 20 goals
Corey Perry but then my name is Patrick Maroon and it is my job to enable Corey Perry that is
going to be very interesting oh that's a good point okay so that'll be fun to watch all right
so uh Lightning and Rangers tonight um I don't know Jesse you picking picking over that's wild
man I think that's the craziest one let's go Rangers see all playoff long though we're like
This is where the puck stops here.
No more goal scoring.
Everyone's going to shut it down.
We've been wrong every time.
So I get where Jesse's coming from.
Okay.
But I refuse to learn from my mistakes.
I'm going under.
Now let's talk about Jordan Binnington.
Why?
We almost fight this time.
Jordan Binnington, man.
So I got a message from a Blues fan yesterday,
and I think it's important to start this segment like this, okay?
They're like, hey, hey, you with the big fat head
and the raspy voice.
And I was like, he must be talking about me.
Well, but today it could be both of us.
He said, listen, you're always,
you're always saying that you want more personality
in the game.
And Biddington's got personality
and you're, and then you're shitting all over.
That's essentially the sentiment.
And the person was super nice about it.
Like they weren't mean, but they're like,
hey, watch out for this.
you know you don't don't go back on what you had to say now let's there's something i want to
address with binnington when we talk about the press conference that he gave um i've got the
quotes here jesse i'm assuming you've got the the one minute clip the god-given opportunity clip
which i love so much let me just say this jordan binnington is a personality in the game jordan
binnington is a notorious personality in the game and i enjoy that but that doesn't mean that i
Because he's a personality, I'm not going to say,
I'm not sure about that logic there, Jordan.
That's fair, right?
Now let's go ahead and have a listen to this clip.
So I went to get my knee checked out mid-game,
and I was coming back to the rink.
The game just ended.
Walking down the hallway,
couldn't find a recycling bin.
On my way down the hallway,
and right before I walked into the locker room,
And I see him kind of doing the interview there, smiling, laughing,
and I'm there in a knee brace limping down the hallway
and just felt like it was a God-given opportunity.
I don't know, I could just stay silent and go in the room
or I could say something and, you know, just have him look me in the eye
and understand what's going on, something to think about.
And I just, yeah, threw the water bottle, an empty water bottle.
It landed like two feet from him.
So it is what it is there.
I mean, but it is what it is.
It's hockey, and it's a competitive game.
Now, if this was just a water bottle thrown, right,
if this was just a water bottle thrown, maybe the incident's a little bit lighter.
but obviously weighing on this is the fact that Nazem Qadri was attacked all weekend police were
involved you know you know about the racist incidents you also know that Jordan Bennington
sent out tweets that were racist in nature flat out they were they were a decade ago they were
when he was a teenager but the dislike of Jordan Bennington does not stem from he like fakes he
fake punches guys right it stems from that and everything after that has built right and so
so obviously there's there's those those con those things color it right those things you
know add heaviness to it that that occurred and the fact that the blues again didn't say anything
like the the thing is the crazy working on it they're working i like i i sent that tweet out
because i had a source that's we just talked about how it's going to take five years to change the
rules it's going to take a little bit longer to word a carefully worded press that racism's bad
yeah but i but but beyond all that beyond all that's pretty good can i use that
you can you can how about this end racism oh man that's even more concise do we like that
but but distracting from this particular point the problem with binnington is is a problem i see
nhly on certain goalies and i want to um i want to quote one of my favorite twitter accounts
uh acting the fullman uh he tweeted this out yesterday he said i might sound conservative
here but i think we as a society and he's being tongue-in-cheek have coddled goalies too much
and too long and the result is jordan bennington because here's what's going to happen next year
okay well you want you mark me okay next year cadre's going to play for somebody we don't know
who and you know that whenever that team rolls through town whether it's colorado or somewhere
else um it's gonna be somebody on st louis is gonna have to go after cadre and bennington's
going to be chirping them all game but bennington isn't going to have to throw a punch my issue with
jordan bennington is not jordan bennington being a notorious personality i like notorious personalities
i don't love his history i won't lie to you on that one but i like personalities with the nhl
i love it i don't give a shit that he threw an empty water bottle i don't give a shit about that
i really don't care i don't it's the other shit around it yes his personality wasn't even good
no it's not but he's it's sort of like it's but here's here's what it is a good point here's what
were you entertained by that it's not even that exciting right but here's the thing this is where
you enter wiener territory this is where you're a gigantic wien if you have a friend you ever been
to a bar with a friend of yours and they get a little belligerent when they're drinking
and you're all you have to be the one that goes okay let's go home or or you have to stand up and
go hey don't hit my friend and i've been in both situations yeah jordan binton is the guy that
starts to fight and then fucking walks away he never has to stand up and actually answer for his
own shit so he can fake punch people he could throw water bottles he can do whatever he wants
and then he just fucking walks away i've seen him do it time after time now i know blues fans love
him i know they're gonna hate me for this but i am telling you to the 31 other fan bases and really
for blues fans who really get it and i know you do that is wiener material it's a wiener move
to go out there and start a bunch of shit and go hey bertuzzo can you deal with this
thanks so much i appreciate that how many what he's gonna get robert bertuzzo to beat him up
cadre doesn't play for the blues but that's listen listen you know i think they're just
mad that hey when bertuzzo made a comment after that i wanted to hey no one hurts my guys but us
or but me that's my job um like how many consenting fights have there been between a goalie and a
skater they're not allowed lifetime they're not allowed i was thinking like matthew barnaby beat
up a guy but no that was matthew barnaby beating up like the only guy i think maybe ron hextall
fought a player once and the and the flyers were probably like i'll let ron do it he's better at
it than we are not that i recall like i what one i got one andrew peters versus ray emery
oh yeah that's it because emery went at martin b ron it was not a good match so i've never seen
a team's enforcer have an honest to goodness fight with a goaltender this is one of the wildest
things i've ever seen and anyone who's ever worn goalie equipment is wondering how the fuck did
emery do that um without like completely getting his ass kicked um yeah binnington is he's not
gonna do anything man that's the thing right if he does i'll be the first person to get on here
and be like holy shit if he if he air punched a guy and then made him fake and then fought him
i'd be like okay that's that's sort of badass right there you know faked you out whatever
but this like what was the there was a cory perry mike richards fight from like junior
where i think mike richards like tripped and they were all laughing at him it was when he was
playing for the rangers and uh cory perry was playing for the london knights it's one of the
craziest fights i've ever seen oh i vaguely remember this and then like and everybody's
slapping Adam Channing,
calling Adam Corey Perry,
he's giving him,
and then Mike Richards comes back
and wails.
Just goes nuts.
And the thing is,
it's like, yeah,
you could kind of make fun of a guy,
but they all answer the bell,
except for Binnington.
And even if Binnington wanted to fight a guy,
his teammates would not let him.
And this is the problem.
So you want to go
and you want to start shit
and then walk away
and then pretend you're a tough guy.
You're not a tough guy.
He's not a tough guy.
Stop acting and playing
like you're a tough guy.
You're throwing water bottles.
you're throwing fake punches you're talking shit but you're not going to do anything you're going
to run i i think what you're saying is eventually you're going to run into someone who's just going
to drop you i don't think anybody will no i don't think anyone's going to touch them i don't because
i think the blues are fucking huge and they'll kill you that's a good point like like you do
you want like okay i said pertuzzo do you want ryan o'reilly to meet you at center ice the next
time brayden shen's a big boy oh yeah even with multiple rib injuries yeah there's there they
were slower than colorado but they're a fucking tough team man i don't know like this is the thing
and that's why people are like oh what's the problem why don't you guys like binnington
that shit no one likes a guy who comes in starts a fight and lets his buddies clean it up well and
like he did it to like wasn't it eric carlson did he or it was like eric carlson or like he
like fake punch villiuso and the the stick swing by the face i i think that might have been cadre
and like someone one day is just gonna do it and they might get their ass kicked after
but someone someday is just going to do it and you guys don't have a problem with the water bottle
thing but i think the water bottle lends to exactly what you're saying he's he threw a water
bottle at a dude who's in the middle of a press conference who's not going to do anything it's
post-game the captain's not going to go fight him in the hallway or anything and he chucks a piece
of plastic at it that's a wiener move sweeter yeah i think that's the exact point you're making
and it's just it's all encompassing of who he is is it evil and sinister and should he be locked
up for it no but i i like there's no legal term that that your honor this man is a wiener yeah
and he also in the press conference he goes hawk it's part of hockey you know hockey's competitive
what part of hockey is throwing a water ball at somebody who throws a shoe honestly if if if uh
if there was like an ongoing rivalry between a couple players and one of them threw a water
bottle at another one water in it or no water in it during a press conference i'd be like that's
kind of funny i can't wait to see them go at it next time on the ice but the reality was bennington
wasn't going to play again and even if he was playing he wasn't going to be the one cleaning
up that mess and that's where it's like and i'm not saying goalie shouldn't be competitive i get
that i'm not saying but at a certain point shouldn't be upset after getting injured either
no i'm not saying that at no point have i said that listen i get why he was frustrated but i'm
just i just it's wiener material guys ween and it just it's cringe i understand you liking your
guy totally i cheered for nasim kadri for many a year listen we all did if brad marshand was a
leaf i'd have a jersey love him but he's not so do you see why do you see how i could hate him then
yeah yeah that's the thing right whatever people were like i hate nasim kadri i'm like listen i
get it uh-huh but no people used to hate leo comrade used to hate him and listen i get it
but no that's right our rat islanders fans know he's great well jesse was uh he he he had the uh
Emory versus Peters fight playing
and do you
know the visceral feeling I felt
when Patrick Coletta came on the screen?
But you know how many Sabres fans
probably own his jersey?
Well, he was the only one worth cheering about.
But he was such a legendary
shithead for them. Yes, he was.
For them.
Art, the team that we cheer for,
was on the other end of his shitheadery.
So, of course, we hated him.
Ramry's got a smile on his face
this whole time. Yeah, because
Oh, he wanted it.
Well, because he, if I'm not mistaken, the lead up to this, I have a vague memory of
this, is he had like a few near misses with getting into fights and you could tell he
was itching to get into one, which I don't get the impression Bennington is itching to
get into a fight.
And then he finally had this opportunity.
There's a line brawl.
Martin Biron obliges him, gets his ass kicked.
and then andrew peters after easily winning his fight i don't remember who he was he just
jerseied the guy right like the sense player was no match for andrew peters yeah no yeah no like
emory and like i don't know why emory like he's he loves it but like dude he's just getting punched
by peters he can barely fight back because he's wearing goalie equipment that's the other thing
right you can't goalies can't fight anymore because they're gigantic equipment he's just
like i just want to fight anything i don't care if i get my ass kicked i just want to be involved
imagine vasilevsky with his fucking huge ass pads trying to throw a fight you just be like
it's like you know it's like that kid from a christmas story he was wearing the snowsuits
that's too big yes he just falls maggie simpson yeah yeah just a star he'd be better off like
just like getting into sumo stance and trying to bowl the guy 100 100 by the way if you get
the chance we can't run the footage obviously because it's nhl copyright but if you get the
chance look up the emery peter's buron fight because at the end of it emery knocks buron over
and then buron emery's like like as soon as buron falls right here buron falls emery's sort of like
laughing then he pins him or whatever and then emery's gonna get back up and you're gonna see
buron just grab his pad and pull it out like no i just trips him and then he walks away and
Emory's laughing.
Anyway, crazy stuff.
It's a very good fight.
So there's that.
Now, Rasmus Sandin made news yesterday because of the 32 Thoughts podcast.
Because of us?
Because of us.
At the end of our last episode, I asked the question, would it be bad if he got offer sheeted?
You guys don't remember that?
Yes.
And then all of a sudden, Rasmus Sandin's in the news every day.
I'm sure Elliot's listening to this podcast like,
happy to ghostwrite your show there, fellas.
SCP breaking news.
Making everybody else's topics.
I don't know.
Breaking news, breaking hearts, baby.
No, I think, I just thought it was funny that.
You think it's funny how?
That Elliot Friedman has been told,
according to what he said on the 32 Thoughts podcast,
that people around the league, not Leafs people,
have said you should watch that situation.
The Leafs have five left-handed shot defensemen.
Kay Brody plays the weak side.
but are they going to make room for him you got to be careful with that what are you gonna be
well because um uh to to compare it to another toronto sports story in a different sport
there was a report like oh oh and an obi og and an obi could be on the move because the raptors
have you know guys this position they want a defensive center might be unhappy but where
did this come from other teams came from other teams so someone told elliot off the leafs have
five left-handed defensemen what any asshole could have told you that yeah that's that's just
someone who oh watch this situation of course watch this situation and the two most likely
candidates fairly obviously are rasmus sandin and jake muzzin so you have to decide what you are
and what you want.
Jake Muzzin's the guy.
Why?
I'm keeping Rasmus.
Because, listen,
I thought Jake Muzzin
was great in the playoffs.
Me too.
I think Jake Muzzin
embodies everything you want
to Toronto Maple Leafs
decor to be beyond
the skating and the speed.
I agree.
He's a great person.
You know what?
Love that he grew up
a Leaf fan.
Love that he likes being here.
Everybody loves the guy.
But what is he,
33 now?
34?
30.
Hard side of 30.
And I say that
as a 34-year-old
myself but i don't have the injuries that jake muzzin does you nor do i have the skill um you've
never had to shadow david pasternak exactly and i just 33 33 with two years left on that deal
two or three i just can't remember when he signed it now because of coven but yes he has two years
left on the deal expires off season 2024 so in a non-cap world you're keeping jake muzzin but it's
the cap world and the leafs have got to sign a goaltender and you know with with jake with jack
camp yeah probably two that you gotta you gotta drop marazic steel which they will and then you
know they you know jack jack campbell wants a minimum three or contracted five million plus
and the leafs don't want to pay that so at a certain point you're gonna have to open yourself
up are you going after darcy kemper are you making a trade what are you doing and i don't think that
jake muzzin yes he's got a modified no trade but please god don't tell me that people with no
trades don't get dealt all the time don't tell me he's not a valuable piece to another team
at five million bucks he is well and like spending all this time drafting and developing
rasmus sandin just to trade him because you have too many guys well and it's like
you don't trade rasmus sandin because you have too many guys it doesn't make sense you keep the
22 year old yeah no because imagine you trade sandin and then muzzin who is older and has had
some injuries gets hurt now you're down two who are you calling up i don't know some dude because
justin hall's not gonna be there either like literally some dude hey some dude hey literally
he's got players i can't wait for yeah every year like there's one day where dubas is like i'm
signing eight randoms let's go yeah and like every year and we and we convince ourselves
here is why randoms number one through eight are the best players in the world and then we almost
never see them and when we do we're like oh they're a random jesse's gonna draft at uh the
person's name is gonna be spelled s-o-m-d-o-u-d-e with the uh apostrophe on it some dude uh some
dude uh in his nhl uh gming the next time he signs up you just got fired by the way in his
own stream we'll talk about that for him you are disrespecting axel rindell and and and joseph
duzak who's gone and uh toppy niemela there's a there's a niemela that is a guy it's a hundred
and sixty pound child who has not played professional hockey in north america carl
everyone please stop carl dollstrom could fill in for jake muzzin and sandin aren't here anymore
does everyone see what i'm bloody saying you know what i mean like very funny point yeah muzzin is
more difficult to move i don't think he's so difficult to move that there's not a point in
at least looking at it i just oh man i do have a very hard time imagining a better toronto
maple leafs team without jake muzzin i don't think you get better that way i think you hope that
you have to play differently and you have to hope that um hope you could get not a good strategy
Well, maybe you can get, and I'm not saying Zach Bogosian,
but maybe you can get a Zach Bogosian type on the second pair or third pair.
Is there a way you keep both?
Oh, yeah.
I think there is.
What's the Sandin contract look like if they can get both done?
I mean, $2 million a year, maybe.
Maybe.
If you're Sandin, you probably aren't looking for a long-term deal
because you haven't necessarily been an everyday player.
You probably want a shorter deal.
But he believes, from what I've heard, he believes,
and his agent believes he's an everyday player
and doesn't understand why they're not playing him every day.
He's right.
He is right, and I don't understand that either.
Yeah.
There can be criticism leveled at that.
There's a logjam.
Certainly.
It's unfortunate that he's in this situation,
but the way the team's built, there's a logjam in his position.
Now, Giordano can play the right, if I'm not mistaken.
And he did.
So that, to me, is how you keep both.
Yeah.
You have, I don't know.
Oh, yeah, but then there's Lilligren.
No.
So you have
Hall's gone
Yeah
Assume Hall is gone
They do have
Yeah
There's a solution here
Again
By the way
How did Justin Hall
Get a modified no trade
Can we throw that out there
What
He has a modified no trade
In his final season
We'll click the thing
It might be like six teams
Players submit to
Ten team no trade list
That's not bad
How
Yes it is
He's marginal
He makes like
He makes like two million dollars
Give him that
Ten teams
No
Absolutely not
You never give him that
Because he makes two million bucks
You don't get modified no trades
until you're making six plus million on my team.
You don't understand how difficult it is to be a GM.
Like as somebody who understands
As somebody who got fired as a GM.
To push it over the line, to get it over the finish line
sometimes it requires ten teams.
You give it to them.
You know how you can just dismiss everyone who hasn't won a cup?
Yeah, that's right.
No cups.
That guy right there.
No simulated cups.
Boo.
Boo.
Boo.
You know, you got to remember too
So Lilligren, Sandin, RFAs, LaBushkin, UFA, but LaBushkin's a right shot D.
Yep.
And I think you bring Bush back.
Well, if you're going to get rid of Muzzin, it makes some sense.
Muzzin and Hull, I would think.
I don't think it makes sense to have Sandin and Lilligren not as everyday players next year.
I don't think you can either.
I really don't.
No.
Like I could see a defense core that looks like this.
i want them to play riley brody together for god's sakes stop the nonsense they play great together
stop well and now here's the thing though like geo on the second pair i don't think makes sense
so could you do because i was thinking like sandy and lilligran third pair no that doesn't make
sense because then you're bumping up geo well okay so put geo down and put timothy lilligran
in the top four which he's good at sandy and lilligran up like this is the thing with being
And LaBushkin Giordano.
I don't hate that.
That's okay.
That's okay.
Like the, the problem with, uh, being a cap team is you have to make decisions like this.
Yes.
Right.
Like you're going to have to give young guys a shot and you're going to have to watch them
play like shit through October and November, and you're going to have to get comfortable
with them playing like shit as long as they improve.
And by the time like Valentine's day hits, they're no longer playing like shit.
and then you feel confident heading into the trade deadline
and hopefully you don't have to do anything massive
at the trade deadline because if you
if you can pull off something massive
at the trade deadline, bless you
fill your boots. If you have to
you probably shouldn't be making the move in the first
place. Interesting
So anyway, I wouldn't put, as Steve said
I wouldn't put too much into the rumor that Sandin's not
going to be here next year
I could, like, listen. Tie that up in a bow
If I'm
Sandin and I'm his agent
and i'm talking to the leafs and i'm not an everyday player next season in their eyes i
asked for a trade i so i wouldn't be surprised at all to find out sanding has asked for a trade
or he's asked for like a conditional trade listen if you're not going to use me blah that could be
like a thanksgiving sort of thing like an american thanksgiving thing like let's say we get to that
point in the season next year and he's a healthy scratch ever he just goes all right that's enough
move me clearly though he's like i didn't understand it the playoffs either i thought
well okay fair enough but they said he could have come back and lilligren getting scratched
yeah i know hall came in and he did have some good games no question and he had some justin
hall moments no question they never went back to him but they never went back they never tried it
yeah i think he found what he liked yeah it was and listen on the security blanket it was and it
was also coach has one one goal separated the two teams right one goal it's one flipping goal so
it'd been easier to tie it if hall hadn't given it away anyway yeah that's funny um all right so
let me let me i want to tell you this before we get into the press conference and this jersey
jesse's got a random leafs jersey um and i just want you to we'll hold that for just a second
yeah whenever you need it but remember i told you on monday about santa chin in the uh the football
team in the french leagues yes that's now been relegated to league two now to catch you up on
the story flares yeah so so this is how fucking crazy european football is so the next time
anybody says oh it's really hard to play in toronto show them this clip and you can look
this up it's basically a bunch of european football uh fans they rushed the field after
sainich and they had a two game aggregate play in sainich and absolutely dominates game one
but randomly the other team gets a goal late in that first game so they end up tied and it's like
fuck but they have the advantage because when you play and you tie an aggregate you get the
advantage going home right aggregate is poo aggregate is it's my least favorite thing about
soccer so then uh and basically i don't know how we're but anyway long story short they lose the
second game on aggregate. They tied it up, but it's aggregate. So long story short, they lose
this fucking game. Had they just stopped that one goal in the first game on aggregate, they're not
getting demoted. And this is one of the most storied franchises in French soccer. Saint-Etienne
and Bordeaux, both of them were relegated this year, which is insane. And it might be a three
year path before either are back. And obviously Saint-Etienne fans are pissed. So what do they do?
they rush the field now there's one team that's celebrating the fact that they win
and there's the other team santa chan literally running for the exit as their fans throw flares
at them and it's one of the craziest things it must be like what watching a battle scene looks
like because you just see a bunch of people running at each other and they just start
hucking flares and they don't just talk it at the players they hucked it at the players exit so the
players couldn't leave that's what's so crazy about that yes they're trying to hit players
but if you look a lot of people are just strategically throwing the flares in the
same spot so it's tough for the players to leave so they can hear it from the fans wow yeah now i
i got sort of obsessed with this story and i promise you there's a reason i brought this
story up because i have not seen this reported anywhere okay okay but there's a connection to
what we talk about here on the steve dangle podcast so i think you'll find this interesting
so you know i got into the history of it and i get apparently there's a president and there's
a general manager essentially and this club has not been in receivership but they've been trying
to be sold for like the last three years and these two power figures within the organization
disagree with each other and they don't have a coherent plan on what the team should play like
on the field or who the club should be sold to okay and so there are two potential buyers
for this club and the fans are pissed about one of them they're super pissed but the two guys
finally agree on this one person this one person and the reason the fans are super pissed about
this one person is that he owns a company that is what's called a multi-club company meaning like
uh uh when george gillette owned i think he owned manchester united and the montreal canadiens
um there's a you know a few other people they own multiple sports franchises multiple cities
in multiple cities the uh fenway sports group that just bought the penguins and they own
obviously you know the uh boston red sox like mlse owns multiple teams but they're all in toronto so
that at least makes sense that's right um so the name that is being sold to and this isn't even the
name that i want to talk about but this is the one that santa chen fans are super pissed about
okay david s blitzer okay he is a minority owner of and co-managing partner of the new jersey
devils oh the philadelphia 76ers crystal palace fc fc augsburg uh ad all corn ado den hag and
Real Salt Lake. Jesus, that's
a lot of teams. And so now he wants to be a part of it.
Now, so, so, Saint-Etienne fans,
they want a one
owner, one team guy,
because what they want, they don't want to become
part of, like, a brand ecosystem.
They want their identity, and that's their
identity. It's Saint-Etienne, or it's nothing.
They want to be focused on it. 100%. Yeah, yeah.
And, you know, like, if you're, and, like, listen,
in Europe, if you're a Crystal Palace fan,
you're not also a Paris fan.
If you're a Crystal Palace fan, you don't also
cheer for fc barcelona right you cheer for crystal palace and crystal palace alone that's how it
works whereas this organization would own several teams and really there's a reality like where
there's a there's a um a reality where at uefa they could play each other oh okay right so that's
where it gets a little bit like this is greasy it's murky but on the business side it makes a
whole bunch of sense you own shares in multiple different companies and you get to you know it
means uh you get to cut expenses you means you have one marketing team etc etc etc so the other
person that put a bid in to buy sanit gen and this is where i get super interesting who is it
john chayka oh what interesting john chayka and the only reason i know this is i read a british
newspaper every morning as a part of my prep like the same one the general manager former general
manager of the arizona coyotes founder stat leads and i believe his family has a seat on the wendy's
board in canada isn't he the president of the doubles uh he's not he never that never actually
happened no john shaka put in a bid to buy saina chan and the fans wanted john shaka to have it
because he was going to be a sole owner of that rather than it being dan s blitzer and his company
and by the way dan s blitzer uh is a senior executive with the blackstone group which is
known for buying up a whole bunch of residential housing jacking up the prices and renting it's
a lot of people don't love blackstone i didn't know the chicas had money like that i didn't
know the chicas had money like that too i assume this isn't cheap and and here's the thing i have
not seen any north american news outlet report on it wow if you google it in google news you
barely see anything but john shake have put forward uh apparently a bid to do this and i
just thought that was kind of nuts and i thought you might want to know that imagine going from
owning sorry being the gm of the devils or not gm of the devils gm of the coyotes the youngest gm
in nhl history is what he was and then he was gonna buy a team in in paris like it sorry not
in paris in france the only place where i can find anything to do with this story is reddit
well the guardian had it this morning yeah like the uh the papers over there are reporting on
yeah the guardian manchester guardian was the only one and i don't even think they call it the
manchester garden it's just the guardian um they're the ones who reported on it there's a
the reddit article leads to foot mercato uh and the article i believe is in french
so yeah there are zero and the reason articles except for the one you read the proposal from
canadian businessman john shaker to buy the club which ruled out pursuing a multi-club strategy
to protect the identity of Sainich
and appears to have been disregarded
purely owing to Cazazos,
and I apologize if you're a soccer fan
and you know how to pronounce that better,
personal relationship with Blitzer.
So the guys who are selling the team
have a personal relationship with Blitzer,
part owner of the Devils and 76ers and Crystal Palace.
So only because of that
are they going to go with him to sell.
And so fans are absolutely furious
because they had a perfectly good offer
from John Chayka and his group,
whoever that is and that would have maintained their singular identity and it's just because
the other guys know each other and like each other that that's where it's going and that
often happens in business of course but it's just i just thought for no other reason i have no
opinion on it i just thought that was very interesting to see john shaker's name pop up
there that's wild what the hell and jesse's got some visuals from yeah from the guardian article
that mentions uh chica the uh fires it's uh it's it's such like i guess the dude's not coming back
to hockey like i don't know yeah you're like president of the devils i don't think so no
especially because he's going head to head with the co-managing partner of the devils to buy this
team oh because blitzer would have tried to hire chica that's why the coyotes were were docked
picks i don't we're not dog picks and that's why chica was suspended i i have a hard time believing
this dude's getting back in like dude the nhl then i should say to the nhl the nhl is such a
tiny club and they probably didn't like john john chica for the crime of being young but now he's
got all this other stuff you know the all the coyotes baggage and what's going on with the
devils and yeah he ain't getting back in but who cares he might have a something else i don't know
do you bid on like is he just like an enormous fan of that team or is he looking to buy another
one maybe he's just a businessman yeah you might like i assume maybe he does again maybe the thing
is maybe he's like i don't want to back in the nhl yeah he was also suspended for a year if you
guys remember he wasn't allowed to work in 2021 in the nhl and nobody hired him and like the reason
uh his relationship with the uh new jersey devil soured because he was he lied about having an
interview uh well you know he lied to the coyotes about not having an interview with the devils
and then the devils became uninterested in him and then he got suspended and they
made him resign and chica he had a messy history there with uh with the league and i don't ever
see him coming back and it sounds like he's not interested in it and he's happy with his
wendy's franchises that he owns with his wife and why not the breakfast baconator
adam yeah you would know i'm working with wendy's influencer adam wilde right here it's very good
when you go adam i'm like oh oh yeah he's got a deal yeah yeah and it's because i know john
shaker no i do not know john shaker i do not know john shaker wow wow wow wow wow adam what a spot
isn't that why i just dumb luck guys i was just reading the paper this morning
unbelievable guardian i was reading i read the guardian most days there's usually something i
read you're such a nerd i know i like the guardian i listen i know it's not uh i know
there's like news news in the uk is a little bit hardcore this or hardcore that but it's important
to get there's tablet crazy tabloid shit that i follow and then there's some crazy like in
journalistic stuff that they do the cover of the tabloids in the uk on a daily basis is more
outrageous than the most outrageous tabloid you've ever seen over here yes yes i'm including
like vampire aliens yes it's insane it's anarchy it is oh my god it is so i'm i don't care about
your feelings over there yeah so anyway i don't know what to make of this but if it tells you
anything about uh john shaka and the uh resources at his disposal uh that's a lot wow yeah nuts
right dude's like 30 that's unreal i mean he's he's good at convincing people to do stuff
obviously yeah dude like i don't know if he's like rich like rich like that on his own so the
fact that he was able to get a group together and convince them to part with their money to buy a
football club should tell you something about how convincing this man is yes no kidding crazy wow so
we'll see where that goes but uh say to chin keep your eyes on him and i only knew this because
some people threw some flares at some other people it's nuts wow yeah like what was your
reaction when you first saw that name i was like it can't be the same guy and you looked at him
well it said canadian business businessman john shake i'm like there's no fucking way and then
i'm like there must be another john shaker and john i thought john shake it like coyote's john
shaker i thought he's an american and then i realized i'm like no i like i didn't i just
thought he was i'm like man i think he's an american not that i really even knew or cared
to be honest like no offense but i don't care where anyone's from really it doesn't matter that
much um and uh and yeah no it's actually him jake is a pretty i mean it's a it's not like smith
right or mill or something like that where you're like oh i see that all the time right right right
it's yeah it sticks out yeah it's so cool stuff there you go please update me on that we'll i'll
Yeah, let's see if we get any more news on who buys the team.
I guarantee you, somebody is going to pick up on this in this country.
I mean, I know we're a media outlet, too, but we don't do journalism.
But somebody's going to pick up the phone and call him and be like,
hey, John, what's the deal?
Just like how we started the Rasmus Sandian rumors,
we're now going to start the John Chayka news.
Don't forget, don't forget, when the Toronto Star picks this up,
it was the SDPN that had it first.
You better quote us.
Because we just quoted the Guardian, actually.
I get so protective of CJ.
Oh, CJ suggested.
Yeah, we already suggested.
where well podcast won't network yeah they never name names we don't ever get credited for that
the sdpn never gets the credit but that's okay yeah cj said this i know he did where
where damn it all right let's do the press conference
