Starting point is 00:00:00 Sometimes life throws your curveballs and you don't have time to get to them and that's where TaskRabbit comes in and I think you should check this out because here's the deal. One of the things, one of the weird quirks about my condo building is that they use my floor to repel down and clean all the windows but they never clean my windows. And their way around on that is like, well, it's a patio window, you can do that yourself. And I'm like, well, hang on a second. What if I don't want to? I don't have the stuff because you got to have that scraper thing and the washer thing.
Starting point is 00:00:28 The chemicals, you got to have the right chemicals. see what i'm saying that's why i used task rabbit and i employed a tasker here's the thing task rabbit connects you with taskers in your area for furniture assembly home repairs lawn maintenance mounting window cleaning all that stuff here's the deal 3.4 million pieces of furniture have been assembled 700 000 home repairs 1.5 million moves and counting go ahead and get ahead of your to-do list 15 off your first task at taskrabbit.ca or on the task rabbit app using the promo code Dangle. Taskers across Canada book up fast, especially for same-day tasks. Get $15 off your first task right now with the promo code Dangle at TaskRabbit.ca or the TaskRabbit app. You should
Starting point is 00:01:10 download that. TaskRabbit.ca. Code Dangle. All right. It's all questions episode. And And so this is not trivia. These are just questions, just so everybody knows. But before we do that, I want to tell you about Sunday, January 11th. It's an important date because Drew and Stu are going to be alive at the mansion in Kingston, 506 Princess Street, for Wild Card Weekend. And you know that we're going to have a really good time. Obviously, three floors, multiple TVs. It is actually an old mansion in Kingston, and there are plenty of them.
Starting point is 00:01:53 But this one is the best one. 26 taps pouring local craft beer. it is brought to you by paps blue ribbon uh you'll get some product sampling when you go uh t-shirts fanny packs and visors too how about that oh at the prince of visor at the princess i call it the princess the mansion i we call drew the princess i want a visor you want a visor i want to party like it's 2001 i love a good visor you should get some frosted tips and some oakleys man let's go yes puka shell necklace but absolutely but the spirit's test uh anyway long story short go see it uh kingston uh uh drew and stew mansion restaurant and bar 506 princess
Starting point is 00:02:33 street they've been serving kingston for 17 years of great food rocking concerts and live sports viewing all right now uh jess you want to explain this episode a little bit more in depth because it is not trivial like i said so we've had a fun holiday break you know we've been doing all these pre-recorded episodes. You've been enjoying them. This is our final one. Oh, yeah. We're back, Wendy. We had questions from you, the listeners. We had Hot Take a Palooza. That was blazing.
Starting point is 00:03:03 We had our fun VIP episodes as well. We had our predictions episode. Now comes questions, not from you, but from the folks at the desk. These are all questions. Actually, there's a little bit of your leftover
Starting point is 00:03:18 questions sprinkled in there. But in the bowl are mainly questions that myself steve and adam have come up with so we're going to be answering each other's questions okay that's what we're doing today this is going to be a fun time let's get into it i'm really excited okay so who's going to pick the first steve dangle always has to do the all right i do okay yep uh let's go with that's two of them if you were arrested what would people assume it was for is this just me yeah sure oh dear um we can help you with your i'm gonna go noise complaint oh that's a good one yeah noise complaint i every dude when new neighbors moved
Starting point is 00:04:09 in next to me in oshawa and when i moved in in ajax i was like this is what i do for a living if you hear me number one i promise i'm not actually upset yeah not at anything that matters and number two please let me know because i don't want you to hear me right right so yeah noise noise complaint jesse would you agree with that yeah i don't think that's uh too far off i would also put in their road rage road rage i think you like people would assume you got arrested for running somebody else off the road or somebody hit you and you yelled at them a lot.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Someone in a Panthers jersey like Matty. Yeah. You did something to them in road rage and got arrested. I could see that. I would say I could also see you being arrested for running down the street streaking because you've lost
Starting point is 00:05:05 your mind with the Leafs finally and you've torn off all your clothes and just ran down the street and they put you in a panic attack. Yeah, an attack. Hey, I just lose my mind like that one episode of Dexter's Laboratory. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think that's yeah, that's good. By the way, Dexter's Laboratory.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Good show. I thought that was a good. All right, Jesse, why don't you go next? Take a question. Give me the bowl. All right. I hope I don't pull one of my own. All right.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Here's the one that's really folded. Oh, this is a listener question. Thank goodness. What? kyle martin writes what is your favorite christmas tree like like like a real or a fake or i'm gonna say my favorite christmas tree is a fake christmas tree 1996 i think 1996 we had a pretty good vintage good vintage yeah i'm this might be a hot take but i don't believe in doing the real christmas tree thing i think you buy the fucking
Starting point is 00:06:03 plastic one you get it for 10 years probably longer if it's your parents and you just put it up every year put it back in the box and you put it back up so real trees are such a hassle why do you want that i grew up in a artificial tree family uh i believe you should have an artificial tree my wife thinks we should have a real tree so we compromise and we always get a real tree uh and i'm in the same boat as steve every single fucking same fucking boat as steve uh and you know what you know what i love about a real tree now you know what i fucking love about paying for one every year yeah because the mess because it's the fact that you uh like you have to cut down a fucking you gotta go get it yeah oh jesse and a real tree costs more in one year
Starting point is 00:06:45 than a fake tree does that's ridiculous fake trees can sorry real trees can cost a hundred dollars or more sometimes no what i don't have to do canadian tire 60 bucks for like a 12 footer i know you know what i don't gotta do i know with uh with a fake tree is water it do you guys i so Or it'll set on fire. I've never had a real tree in my life. We had the same, I think it was like 10, 12 foot tree growing up in my childhood since I was a baby. We had the same tree for 20 whatever years. When I moved out and then I got a place that could have a tree.
Starting point is 00:07:18 I got a fake tree. I've had that tree ever since. And I've been perfectly fine. And Christmas is still Christmas. You know the fake tree downstairs in our lobby? Yes. That I set up with Everly? Yeah, it was a great tree.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Yeah, pre-lit too. Oh, those are the best ones. yeah and you know uh what's crazy about that is i'm not allowed to have that at home because that's my fucking tree but we have to go out and get one because we're quote unquote making memories and i can tell you this oh my goodness don't give a shit i don't care didn't care i didn't know they don't care they don't care there's presents under the tree on christmas morning you know what else you don't get within the artificial tree i didn't even consider this until i saw a video of it someone's like oh be sure to inspect your tree before you cut it down
Starting point is 00:07:58 it was a christmas tree and they zoomed in on it and the biggest juiciest ticks i've ever seen in my life like hundreds of them you're you're bringing something from the forest into your from the wild because you cut down the home of hundreds of ticks yeah it's also hilarious if you have a cat now my cat's lazy but like he's a lazy ass cat but if you've ever had a tree without a good base and obviously if you get a newer fake tree they have wide bases they're unlikely to tip over the older ones for whatever reason it's shitty bases uh but with a real tree you've cut off the bottom of it and then tried to strap it into a base that you're praying doesn't fall over cat jumps on that and it's over and there's fucking sap and water and by the way
Starting point is 00:08:49 can i just throw out there too i'm allergic to the cat already i'm also allergic to the tree oh yeah i'm allergic to the tree my wife's like yeah that's uh sounds like uh you probably are you guys also not worried about like the diseases or whatever you could be bringing into the house with a tree less less worried about that is that a thing like there's there's not like ants on the tree like i don't know how real well a lot of times a lot of times the ticks thing scares me the ticks thing is scary because we didn't used to have ticks here but because global warming we have a lot of ticks now uh and yeah like i mean we had a pretty cold november and i've had a pretty cold december but like yeah you can fucking you can for sure bring home ticks uh it's it's not
Starting point is 00:09:27 it's not a good idea let's put it that way life's about compromise are there little needles everywhere yes i have to vacuum every other day you know why jesse because we have a white tree skirt jesse white tree skirt you know what else we could have a red one you wouldn't see the needles you know what else we have jesse is uh eight feet in our house eight feet that get needles on their socks and track them all over the fuck all over the damn house we used to have 12 but then iggy died yeah i'll be thinking about him this holiday season no don't say that sorry all right next question that's ridiculous that you guys still do that it's okay you know what only have a bunch of ornaments things change when the when the kids come along people become like
Starting point is 00:10:13 well i must have loved this too they can't remember loving it but they'll tell you that they did um all right that's a good throw here we go yeah jesse nice job what are you doing yeah now we gotta pick that up we have to pick that up after just leave it on the desk all right i will have to yeah you will probably have to pick it up if you're gonna freaking cry about it i'll pick it up oh my goodness bolton arthur's you have a time machine with two uses you can go however far back into earth's history you want but you only have an hour during which you are invincible where do you go after that you decide to use your last travel to change the outcome of a single sports game which one do you change so we'll start with the first one that's a double question yeah you
Starting point is 00:11:00 could do both that's fair you okay so you you could go however far back at earth's history you want but you only have an hour during which you are invincible where do you go adam this is your question so you're gonna choose something fucking stupid history uh stupid history choose whatever you want i'm just making fun of you honestly like like i wouldn't go back somewhere dangerous because i'm not a dangerous man you're invincible though i'm invincible you can go watch the battle of stalingrad if you want i don't want to see that i don't want to see that i don't want to see a battle like i don't know if you guys are aware of this but like people die in battles uh so i don't know that way you know what you know what's hilarious i'll give you a history
Starting point is 00:11:38 fact people have been asking me for history corners people used to as a as a trip when there were when there were um battles in europe they would be pitched they would be set piece and in the 17th and 18th centuries uh sometimes in the 19th century too um people would just go to the edge of the battlefield and bring a picnic and watch what because if you have to think about it if there's one army that's going this way and one army that's going that way and you're not in the firing line and you're far enough away you could just watch the whole battle unfold and people used to do that so yeah maybe maybe i would do that maybe i'd go watch napoleon at austerlitz or something like that there you go this is why whenever people are like man scrolling your phone
Starting point is 00:12:24 is the worst thing ever it's not and then we used to regularly go to public executions like i sorry like that was like a regular everybody get together after church we're going to the i'm gonna break some news to you that's in your phone too that is true it's in your these days here here wait here here you go um all right what about you jesse and steve oh that was your question you got to answer the second part oh i gotta answer the second part oh i thought you guys were yeah right after that you decide to use your your last travel to change the outcome of a single sports game which one is it i got it uh well for me it's going to be game seven uh this year in 2025 i think the leafs path to the cup would have been pretty clear if it hadn't been
Starting point is 00:13:09 for the panthers and if they had won that game i do think they get through carolina and at very least play in the finals no you're wrong they would have lost uh the answer is game five leafs bruins oh 2019 oh okay because cj has referenced that as the game that saved mike babcock's job so you would have them lose i would have them lose so he got fired earlier and they didn't begin the troubling process of doubling down on a shitty team the other answer is game 5 2021 against montreal okay oh because that would have put them through that might be a better answer that would have put them through against they would have played what winnipeg winnipeg oh man then that's one where
Starting point is 00:14:03 i'm like oh okay well they probably beat winnipeg and then they probably whatever they're in the final four at that point they would have played vegas in the final four i think in the in the western conference finally yes isn't that crazy okay all right uh vegas would have killed steve it's your your question next oh the correct answer is you change ikf and he gets one more step off of third base and he's at home a smidge faster that's my answer you're right he is right how quickly we forget
Starting point is 00:14:36 if animals could talk which would be the what is this word Adam wrote that which if animals could talk what would be the which one would be the
Starting point is 00:14:52 rudest which one would be the cat you think a cat would be a cat rude without talking yeah they don't need words to be rude you don't think anything else because i think birds can be pretty rude you could be like hey buddy how you doing and it just with its eyes goes bitch cats hate you on default yeah yeah you have to earn your way in yeah you do have to earn your way in and then then you feed them and they're like you may live for today today you have to do that again tomorrow yeah yeah who knows about the next day hey jesse you sure are wearing a nice white t-shirt oh it's
Starting point is 00:15:27 nice and crisp and new and comfy it's from fabletics wow it actually is very nice they got the little fabletics logo i like how subtle the little logo is there and it's just how nice it feels on my body uh steve loves their joggers and the thing about fabletics is the fabric is gonna hold you're gonna be it's dialed is what they say it's gonna stay locked in 60 uh yeah exactly joggers that keep their shapes jackets that are warm without the bulk it solves the usual issues you've had with active wear. Starting point is 00:16:52 hang on a second what if i don't want to i don't have the stuff because you gotta have that scraper thing and the and the washer thing chemicals you gotta have the right chemicals see what i'm saying that's why i used task rabbit and i employed a tasker here's the thing task rabbit connects you with taskers in your area for furniture assembly home repairs lawn maintenance mounting window cleaning all that stuff here's the deal 3.4 million pieces of furniture have been assembled 700 000 home repairs 1.5 million moves and counting go ahead and get ahead of your to-do list 15 off your first task at taskrabbit.ca or on the task rabbit app using the promo code dangle taskers across canada book up fast especially for same day tasks get 15 off your
Starting point is 00:17:34 first task right now with the promo code dangle at taskrabbit.ca or the task rabbit app you should download that task rabbit.ca code dangle okay let's get into this one here oh this one's nice and tightly folded all right this is from dairy logan logan nation logan nation logan nation because they did logan nation except they use one end okay what's the last tv show you binged oh that's a good question uh binged i'm watching a lot of active shows so i guess it doesn't count as binge right okay if i watch one episode of a show every night for four straight nights is that binging no oh i guess it would have to be a show that i'm gonna go with something from five years ago it's jesse's answer though what are you picking steve oh i don't have an answer adam
Starting point is 00:18:30 what's the last show you binged uh the diddy documentary i'm binging parks and rec right now oh that's good natalie had never seen it weirdly so i got to show it to her yeah so that's one i guess i'll pick severance because i didn't watch the first season when it aired so this year when the second season came out i binged the first season to catch up with everybody and then i watched the second season so i'll go sever i like that that's an easy answer i like that okay uh you're down there all right here we go oh this is definitely a steve why why did you make me answer this what's the question this is i don't know if it is a steve-ass question unless unless it's jesse maybe it is jesse oh no that's jesse's writing
Starting point is 00:19:20 name three things you like about elon musk what the fuck is this is there a question in the bowl you gotta answer it i mean okay i uh i like the fact that he has mainstream electric vehicles i think that's a good thing um uh i think it's good to have a little mix of gas that's actually jesse's crying i thought it was a good question um uh i kind of like that this is so fucking hard i can answer this real fast i like that he gets every every time he steps out of his lane because he believes he can do anything yeah i love that every time he steps out of his lane he gets fucking smacked so hard like like this guy this guy got pantsed so bad yeah by his time in government that he had to fucking leave and get
Starting point is 00:20:21 out of the media for a while i like that um and i too and i like the fact that he is gonna go down as um what he is because what we were sold and i bought it for a long time is that he was a genius and he's i i don't doubt that elon musk is very intelligent i do but he like no no like in your lane right like like there's people that are intelligent at one thing like steve jobs was objectively not a good person yeah terrible guy but in his lane he was brilliant um thomas ediskin fucking awful guy but in his lane he was brilliant i think i see elon musk is that i'm glad elon musk will go down in history books as a guy who you just listed three people who made others do all the work created a but well that's what he does he he will not get elon musk
Starting point is 00:21:12 will never be loved the way that elon musk needs to be and wants to be loved god and for all the horrible things that he has done to other people and caused other people i think that's justice can i get some answers no oh he's no no no no you're such a dick jess oh my god who in this room would survive the zombie apocalypse longest so there's four of us well maddie's the best traveler in the room you know how to like go places you know and you're also the youngest which means your body is going to break down the slowest i think i probably died
Starting point is 00:22:07 first on account of what uh it takes a lot for me to wake up in the morning ah the motivation to outrun or at least do the things to survive a zombie apocalypse yeah might be low down on your your list i do a five minute routine to like get my back and hips feeling good every yeah i don't know if there's enough time to be doing that shit in the woods um i think jesse's pretty smart but there's also like there's a lot of you to like grab on to yeah right you're very biteable i don't know if i have the what do you call it it's not street smarts it's zombie apocalypse smarts the like outdoorsman part of me i don't have that right like i couldn't i don't know if i can do wood stuff wood stuff i like yeah can i do woodsy stuff no i don't i don't know you know
Starting point is 00:23:02 what i think you're just good to bet on the youngest one i yeah maddie my money would go on adam why i think adam's very resourceful okay all right i also have an f-150 i don't know if you guys know yeah like i feel like you'd be able to shimmy rig something together to get us away to something yeah i'm just like what walking dead character would he be and like could he become the governor or negan you know i could become negan you think if i put a bat in your hand put some barbed wire around carl i loved that show for a second yeah like there was a moment there where the walking dead was like the coolest thing on television yes yeah it was it was unbelievable i think the problem with
Starting point is 00:23:55 it was they decided that it was going to be a soap opera rather than a limited run show i thought that was a genius idea at the time like full full march to them like selling the show like that made me like it more because i was like it then it mirrors real life i'm invested for 80 years in this show because it's gonna go on like life and how the zombie apocalypse world is gonna play out is gonna be like there's gonna be next generations and the people are gonna smile so i can really get in this but then they tried to do it and they failed the execution because it's hard yeah it's hard to do yeah that's why uh soap operas are bad yes because they run out of fucking storylines right and that's why like people that watch coronation street you're like okay but you're
Starting point is 00:24:40 not watching it for like deep plot points right you're just watching it because you know that these are going to be mini scenes they're going to kind of suck but there's like no one's ever been like to it the young and the restless is the peak of narrative storytelling best fucking job if you're an actor though best job oh best job because you'd be there for people love you in a way that you can't like nothing else and you you have a guaranteed job and you're not expected to be good at it no great money i'm an actor and i am like intentionally bad yeah yeah real bad at it yeah and people like it who's next to ask the question is it steve uh jesse jesse uh did i do one zombie apocalypse one steve just answered so yeah i'm next okay got it and i'm shuffling the
Starting point is 00:25:30 bowl if i i don't what is this word if i had a womi what would it say warning label if you had a warning label what would it say what would your warning label say my warning label would say caution tall may hit head um what do you think steve do you agree with that warning label for jesse lake adam you're up next may warning may drink coffee and talk hockey no i meant for jesse not for you oh for him no that was perfect now do adam what would be written on your mug available at any kitschy shit store in Fort Perry. Do the kitschy store thing.
Starting point is 00:26:22 The kitschy store thing? Yeah. His Facebook t-shirt. I'm born in April and I don't like cheese. I love cheese. Like my Facebook t-shirt? Is that what you're trying to say?
Starting point is 00:26:36 Yeah, that's what we were saying. You need to pay attention. I live my life behind two things. The wheel or the mic. no i i've changed it what is your itchy shit mug that's really good all right all right oh my god i hate it jesse i bet this is one of jesse's troll ass questions like name something the great about what is it mine comp uh oh which time person of the year since 2000 is the least
Starting point is 00:27:17 and most deserving we're gonna have to pull that list up jesse no i'll send you i'll send you what i'm referring to okay uh the list of the time people of the year you have somehow not got a single one of mine uh hold on sorry i should have had this prepared let me just oh i thought it was jesse's question next it's yours warning might not be prepared i thought jesse would get a sassy label he'd be a little sassy yes i don't know what time was the meeting again that's that's steve that's that would be mine yeah no it's uh there i was gonna put in a question like uh what's the excuse you use to get out of plans most of the time and i was gonna amend it for like what's your excuse for being late all the
Starting point is 00:28:03 time and you have to be traffic every fucking time wait okay i'm worth waiting for i'm gonna text this to you oh okay and then your i thought it was good and then i'll pull it up on my uh my computer too so the people can follow along okay and so your job here in this question you have to pick one person who is the most deserving and one person who is the least deserving okay so do i go through the oh you're just going to show the list i'll show the list and then uh make your picks i'm just pulling it up right now are you scanning uh yes yeah okay most deserving because it doesn't have to be remember time person of the year is not nice best person nicest person they're just it better not be yeah um so time people of the year
Starting point is 00:28:50 through the years 25 ai the architects of ai 24 donald trump 23 taylor swift 22 zelensky and the spirit of ukraine 21 musk 2020 biden harris 19 thunberg 18 the guardians of the galaxy no the guardians and the war on truth 17 the silence breakers me too 16 donald trump 15 angela merkel 14 ebola fighters 13 or 14 13 now pope francis 12 barack obama 11 the protester 10 zuckerberg oh nine ben bernanke bernanke bernanke tried to get a set of the uh oh eight crash oh eight obama oh seven putin oh six you oh five the good samaritans oh four bush oh three the american soldier oh two the whistleblowers oh one rudy giuliani she she purrs at that point he was a hero 2000 george bush again adam pick your most and least deserving member of this list okay least
Starting point is 00:30:01 deserving is uh you 2006 yeah no that's the right answer we're talking about here what a weak ass answer most deserving is interesting what kind of family guy ass answer is that i think most deserving is 2016 trump because he has set the news cycle ever since and that's with biden and harris in office and without um if we're talking about news cycle if we're talking about biggest effect on pop culture donald trump every day yeah he ruined the world whatever whatever you want to say yeah he is it's clearly the right answer no no everything's getting better i don't think that was the question though very quickly the question was who's who is who is the person of the year most deserving uh you could have said trump in any one of those oh yeah he's the person of the
Starting point is 00:30:48 year every year because he's a disease it's funny how like everything's kind of all-encompassing of like the world and political politics and all this stuff and then randomly there's like taylor swift she was a superman that tour was huge but you compare her name to the other name she's just a musician yeah who just had a successful tour she had like a really good tour and a hot album yeah yeah yeah yeah but you know times are simpler in 2023 yeah we really took a break that year for being serious that was nice that would have been cool if we'd be able to continue that i'm glad adam got that one yeah that question that that is uh that's a slam dunk easy all right uh steven oh what is your totally useless talent um i don't know i feel like i've put all my talents
Starting point is 00:31:46 to use because i have so few uh adam help me totally useless talent totally useless talent do i have um you don't really have a useless talent when you can just use it for the podcast right okay like i'll ask okay get another one then get another one if that's a yeah pick another one yeah i wrote that one but you're right that's a that's a bum question we have to use we don't use all of our talents yeah like you're bird watching but like this is great that's great content for us yeah oh what is the cringiest thing you were sincerely into oh i'm sure there's a real good answer if i think here and no i don't think it's birding i don't think it's fucking burning at all no cringiest i think might be
Starting point is 00:32:32 fossils because you have a kit i have a kit and i would go down to the beach in ajax and bang open rocks to try to find fossils and i did it on christmas because i got the kid for christmas so i walked down to the beach you left your family in december oh that's been cold i was by yourself were you by yourself yeah i think so yeah you just like buy sl it's yeah for like an hour oh and i uh my dog was alive so i walked iggy and then while he uh you know sniff for stuff on the beach i banged open rocks man what a cool guy so yeah i think that would top the list yeah i don't have anything like that yeah most cringy yeah that's good steve keep being you
Starting point is 00:33:21 never change true to me certainly how old will Steve be when the Leafs win the cup that's a really good question what do you think Jess Steve what are you now
Starting point is 00:33:38 32 37 okay so Steve's 45 then so we are not going to win it in this era and you got to think so after you're thinking post rebuild here no you know what i was thinking about recently about the cup uh thing that's going on if we're comparing anybody if we're
Starting point is 00:34:05 comparing austin matthews to anybody from a previous era it's alexander ovechkin fair uh i okay scores a lot and is mostly criticized for never winning yeah fair people forget that that was 100 percent ov's reputation yeah or they won in 2018 had they ever even been to the third round um maybe once maybe i don't think so and he was what 34 35 when they won if i'm not mistaken they've been to the third round i think that might have been his only time in the third round that is correct wow alexander ovechkin has never been to the third round outside of that one year they won the stanley cup in 2018 the washington capitals went through a period where they're very good but not that great lost in the second round a whole bunch that's all ov ever did winning
Starting point is 00:35:01 the division president's trophies in 13 14 they even missed the playoffs that was a down year they come back they win another first round series against the islanders they lose to the rangers 15 16 they lose they win the first round against the flyers lose to the penguins in the second round 16 17 they beat the leafs lose to the penguins in the second round and that was supposed to be the death like that was supposed to be the end of their window they loaded up we were at a point in alexander ovechkin's career where it was getting sad and disappointing that this all-time great player would never lift the stanley cup and it took until he was 34 years old to do it that's from uh so he would have been in the league for 14 years i believe 13 years 13 years at that
Starting point is 00:35:48 point he debuted at 19 that's why you don't give up on generational players austin matthews might be on a similar trajectory where it's just like get one and you might get in your mid mid to early 30s but as just keep kicking at the can with it and if you have one of these players you need to keep doing that and i don't think the leafs are in a dissimilar situation than what the 14 capitals were in yeah sometimes you just gotta wait i can totally see in the next half decade because he's still 28 27 i think 20s yeah 27 28 i can google whatever it is it's young that's still another seven years yep before he'd reached the ov peak of where he doesn't get the cup yet there's a lot of opportunity here to get the stanley cup so this is his 13 14 is what you're
Starting point is 00:36:40 saying that's what i'm saying so if we're saying another four years five years like i think they can still do leafs need to be smart though like the one thing i'll say is the caps were very smart about finding guys when they became available whereas the leafs i think have forced trades when when which costs you more yeah you know what i mean so austin matthews is 28 years old but there's still time all right is it my turn oh so my answer is you're 45 right now uh when you're 46 there you go there you go you're ready thank you this is a listener question from sam which gas station that you've been to has had the best bathroom and i will tell you sam i have not been to many uh i don't know if i've ever been to one
Starting point is 00:37:31 i don't think i've ever been to a nice gas ah you know what uh the on route on on the highways that's a gas station no it's not because it's a i guess it's not gas station connected is it it's a giant building that is connected to a gas station but it is not the same on routes are designed so that you don't have to take a dump at a gas station that's exactly what an on-road is designed for yeah there was okay there was a mcdonald's when you crossed over to buffalo that is strange because you go out you're on the highway and it's a two-lane highway and then there's trees in the middle there's two lanes on the other side and you uh you go up this little thing and then you have to cross a bridge and there was a that's a mcdonald's though it's not
Starting point is 00:38:18 a fucking gas station no it's not because it's not the 70s anymore i have no answer no answer i i've always i've never i've been to perpetually shitty gas stations they're all the floors are always that weird it's not quite sticky but it's a little bit of a slimy floor never been to an answer the answer is none the answer is none travel hack if you're ever traveling you need a bathroom best bathroom you could ever go that you can probably access hotel bathroom walk into a hotel lobby on the main floor they have a washroom somewhere there use that one that's your best travel i love that it was smart i never really thought of that now i know where you poo i poo in hotels on vacation not my hotels somebody else's oh most irrational fear
Starting point is 00:39:01 most irrational fear do you fear that marner is going to come to your house one day yeah uh a spinorama giveaway in uh in overtime there there are no irrational fears with the okay that's all right perfectly rational okay all right a rational fear in life an irrational fear in life like if I don't say I love you like
Starting point is 00:39:33 this one time that you know they're gonna die before I get the chance to say it again do you have that yeah I have to say I love you every time that's a very beautiful irrational fear that Adam's laughing at right now he thinks you're a wimp baby be a man the great thing is you're wrong
Starting point is 00:39:53 every time until the one time you're right so you know uh i also like i i spend uh you know how when you were a little kid you you really thought the bermuda triangle was probably going to be a bigger burden on your life yeah yeah as an adult i live in constant fear of slamming my finger in something oh really yes because i've done it a few times and it fucking hurts okay i don't like that's an interesting one yeah you ever so slamming your finger in a door is one thing slamming your finger in the hinge oh pain part of the yep i'm thinking about it right now i actually i've broken out into a cold sweat okay yeah so
Starting point is 00:40:32 you don't like it okay all right that's my irrational fear this says weirdest compliment you've ever received uh we i don't know if it's weird back in my younger days girls they think you're kind of cute they always do the thing where they're like oh your hands are so big let me compare your hands oh was that flirting yeah no way yeah really yeah adam i did not know that i didn't know that i thought it was just people just doing that no it's always a weird way girls flirt oh look how tiny my hand wait let me just oh yeah yeah yeah i think that counts okay all right i like that they're being nice it's a common also you have fucking huge hands i know that's a good thing to call on if you want me to give you a little touch
Starting point is 00:41:26 i do not have huge hands if just he's like you know how like they flirt with it no you ever been flirt no you know how when you were in high school and girls flirt no adam's got a question what celeb dead or alive would be your dream guest on this podcast the guests of my podcast uh yeah you guys checked out my podcast dream guest on this podcast what's she doing right now who are you talking about who are you talking about with a man she's back with a man after calling herself a lesbian icon jojo siwa who was who was she invented lesbian pop yeah apparently and we talked about on the show yeah yeah we did a vip on that people that faked being a lesbian there for a while that were like
Starting point is 00:42:15 yeah i'm definitely gay and then they and dove cameron was another one yeah he wrote an entire song about being gay and is very definitely with a man and i know people are buying stuff but i'm like it feels like you're selling yeah when you're coming from the perspective of celebrity and you're using that culture to sell records like it's a little sketch yeah listen I know people get on Harry Styles for dressing the way that he does but I think what Dove Cameron did was worse and Jojo
Starting point is 00:42:39 too 100% I've been a Flyers fan this whole time this is about what celebrity though what celebrity on your podcast I'm trying to get I'm leaf baiting you're leaf baiting yeah I thought the show would be a bigger success if I was a Flyers
Starting point is 00:42:55 or if I was a leaf baiting yeah that happened to a podcaster recently one of the guys on like uh one of the barstool football podcasts what he he for like his entire podcasting life and like media professional they thought he like grew up in boston because he's like a boston sports guy but he actually grew up in like chicago i don't know the details but i remember it was a big thing on like twitter for an hour really yeah so he had to like come out and he did like a formal apology to be like i'm not actually like a massachusetts guy i grew up in was he asshole baiting yeah yeah yeah that's it was like a media story for like a week that's so fucking weird why would you do that because i i think that's
Starting point is 00:43:38 he explained how he got to the fandom you know he explained but he is a fan of that that yes and everybody who was like a fan of him genuinely was like oh my god we forgive you and everything kind but some assholes you don't have to run the city to be a fan of but but he faked it like he lied that he wasn't actually grew up a fan of this team and that it came to him later in life oh he did but everybody assumed that like oh this is a born and bred dude i think it was massachusetts guy this is this is the version of me that's like yeah i played in the ohl like we did this bit and he did it for real yeah yeah so that was that was a controversy i don't know how did we get there guests i would love to have on this show lesbians long may they reign because here's the
Starting point is 00:44:24 thing like if i go a hockey guest chances are they're boring uh if it's a player chances are chances um you know when i think of the best guests we have had cj is the best guest we've ever had and that's why we continue bringing cj back frank corrado's a really good one that's why he comes back every once in a while right because frank's good um i loved kipper that was a great guest um and you know we've had a bunch of like really like brilliant whatever but to me this show is not an interview show like we do some interviews but that's not our format and so i would have to bring on somebody the way i'm i'm processing this in my mind that adds to the conversation because that's how we vet our guests like there are some shows where they're like
Starting point is 00:45:13 i don't care we need a guest and that's our format for us it's like no we just talk and if the guest can add to the conversation that's the only reason to have them on yeah and i don't know who that would be in a hockey scenario do you have an answer um like that's gonna add to this that's gonna be people it's gonna be like fucking can't miss uh austin matthews but he's got to pull it can't be him talking to the hockey media it's got to be like no person hockey austin matthews then austin that's what you're picking i feel like he'd be a good interview if you could get him to drop the facade i've interviewed him no i think he's apparently he's a hilarious guy he's just he's really good at media days maybe when his career is over austin matthews willing
Starting point is 00:46:00 to talk that's valid yeah i think he'll be great you know what one i've tried and and he has not said yes to it yet and he said yes to chicklets the bastard darcy tucker darcy tucker that'd be a really good one yeah he'd be great in case this makes its way back to no adam didn't mean it when i think darcy would understand but darcy tucker is a phenomenal talker and funny um and i think probably skittish with the toronto media so and steve just yawned at my answer i'm sorry this is the fourth show we've recorded today so i guess that's not good enough no my bad i don't uh i think the crowd reacted to your answer i guess they don't like my answer what i want to get somebody who's like who fucking peels paint yeah that's outside of hockey
Starting point is 00:46:48 outside of hockey yeah what are you thinking i i don't aaron davis i don't know uh boy that's an old answer no one's gonna remember that one she hasn't been on the radio here for like six years um well because his mom is maryland dennis so i said someone who was also big on toronto radio but aaron would even be like why are you bringing me up she's accomplished what's that hey er uh maddie you also want to answer the question yeah jesse jesse steve you have a better answer than me i don't know your question fuck i that's that's my fucking answer i don't know i don't like i'm not like i'm not somebody that's like dying to hear i have guests on the maddie maddie's my dream maddie maddie's dream yeah there's my point all right yeah but you're
Starting point is 00:47:28 not like the guest next question like we need like a maddie episode where we sit you down and we're like talk about you can have that nah we couldn't no it's better to think about it um if your life had a theme song what would it be also doubles as walk-up music if you want it and the cats in the cradle in the silver spoon little boy blue and the man in the moon yeah you're always leaving leo to go to hockey stuff when you're coming home dad i don't know when we'll get together then oh man oh that's good um if my life had a theme song yeah that makes sense why not i like that
Starting point is 00:48:32 all right jack white good at music hot take it says this one says can you burp on command no if i if i try and burp on command i will barf yeah like i don't have that the burp reflex i know people can like suck in burp and then burp out i can't do that i used to build it oh there we go just did it who do you think wrote it you should uh you should have trigger warning that for years my bad the asmr and that all right we're getting down low on the questions here what year does gary betman retire so here's a good question gary betman we've been told when he eventually leaves the commissioner role will stay on as an advisor to the commissioner
Starting point is 00:49:30 commissioner emeritus kind of role yeah by the way you've got a little glitter on your uh on your eyeball there friend from the uh yeah did you get it yeah no here help him help that man there's a lot how big that piece is i think it's from the tree there that's all so when i'm talking about gary betman retiring i'm talking about not involved in hockey at all yeah and he's 72 i think he's older is he let me look hold on we're all we're all googling gary betman i already gave up getting down to business 73 73 years old gary gary will have to die he will have to die so you're asking me when he's not going to be involved in the nhl anymore you're basically asking me when's gary dead that no i mean it's the same question i mean right adams like listen
Starting point is 00:50:26 i don't wish ill on the man no i'm not saying i wish he would die i'm just saying he will have to be dead well like let's say so he needs to run out of his current contract as commissioner which is a at least another year and then and so retire from that role but then stay on for what i imagine will be at least another two years to the man's gonna be like 80 yeah i think i think i'm gonna say this we will be jesse we will be in our what are you doing we will be in our 50s steve and i jesse maybe not but we will be in our 50s before gary is out of hockey completely because i say at 73 years old he's got at least 12 or 13 more years steve and i are 37 so we'll be right around our 49th 50th birthday you think he has what i think i think he's got to live i think he's
Starting point is 00:51:15 gonna live to at least his mid-80s he's got the man no but you think he's going to work for the nhl for another decade and a half yes well i just told you i think the question is the same if he's going to be involved if he's breathing he's involved with the nhl so if you're asking me when he fully fully retires it's when he retires from life and i'm gonna say that he's gonna be about 80 it's got to be 85 plus which means you and i are gonna be like 49 50 years old wow that's what i think i'm not listen cliff fletcher is still at home as an agm for the leafs in his 90s cliff fletcher is responsible for like three or four percent of the things that gary batman is responsible for i know but i'm just saying you're asking me when
Starting point is 00:52:01 he's going to fully retire he might just be a consultant but he's still going to be paid by the nhl if you're asking when he fully retires i feel like the last day he retired the last day he's in hockey is the last day he draws breath i think you will have to pry it from his cold dead hands man that is just not a way to live life at all yeah wouldn't be the way i'd want to live it but that's what gary chose free will steve dangle next question maddie what did you want to say since steve keeps staring at yuri on the screen because i'm looking i better get used to the fucking face maddie i better get used to the oh my god no way is he retiring no i wrote that one so i'm gonna put it back uh i also wrote that one you guys didn't pick like any of mine
Starting point is 00:52:45 okay here we go this is a fan one can you very vividly pinpoint the year a very notable nhl executive will die adam sorry that's gary because sir that's the same question i thought it was real oh no no this is from spence because steve gets more views for how because steve gets more views for how bad the leafs lose but you guys get to make more videos the deeper the leafs go in the playoffs is it fair to say the most profitable outcome for sdpn would be the leafs make the stanley cup final only to get reverse swept ending with a blowout game seven home loss yes yeah the most profitable way for
Starting point is 00:53:44 the blue jays to go through the playoffs was how they did it exactly they went through they went through they had a couple game sevens then the finals went to game seven in dramatic fashion if we wanted just strictly money every round is game seven it is the reverse sweep and then game seven is horrific loss yes yeah that is that's fact that's a fact but that's not what we want no i want i don't care i would gladly yield all of those extra views yeah if it was 40 sweeps all the way if they went and just won 16 games in a row i would take that over everything i want the leaves to win 98 consecutive games 82 and 0 followed by 16 and 0 what drew wants is for them to be that completely mediocre squeak into the playoffs on the last day every series goes seven
Starting point is 00:54:33 games and then they lose in the final that is what drew because drew has no horse in the race unless it's the avalanche yeah is your butt natty what the fuck does natty mean natural is my butt natty my butt is natty yeah i wrote that with the hope that you would get it and you did god is good all right that's incredible last one uh or last couple what is your most used emoji oh i do like the crying with laughter emoji because i like laughing um but instead of uh like when i say to acknowledge that i'm going to do something i do the uh the salute emoji like a face salute uh emoji i do that i'd like to ask jesse what his is okay what is your most used emoji my most used emoji i'll because yours i
Starting point is 00:55:33 think would be very interesting i don't know why you're you're mysterious guy he always says he's not mysterious he's right maddie is he not mysterious he's a little mysterious uh what do you what do you think it is uh so this is a trick question for jess because he likes a bit moji he loves his little airpods i like so i have a moji i think you're right i think probably my most used i was about to say thumbs up he likes that one a lot but the happy face i have the me with my airpods in giving a thumbs up yep yeah uses the bitmoji more than anybody i know why do you use you're the only one i know who uses a bitmoji this is me 48 it's me it's my little guy sitting there smiling oh my god he's having a good time in my phone all right all right i have
Starting point is 00:56:19 a question to piggyback off of this all right screen a screen steve what's your stove what's your screen time on your phone from yesterday yo and what specifically is your twitter app screen time oh adam i want yours too how do we even look that up well yeah how do you so you can just type in the top screen time screen time it was oh well it's at the bottom now oh they moved that's what apple thinks innovation is yeah and then we're gonna oh yeah phone update okay what was on the bottom is now on the top what was on the top is now on the bottom and also all the buttons are bubbles now somebody's cranky sorry this is weird what is oh sorry go ahead oh yeah so it shows me that my most used is chrome does that count as like your your your
Starting point is 00:57:08 oh do you have it synced to your laptop yeah i don't have app and website activity turned on oh really no oh you don't keep track of your screen time and i don't want to so i have yeah i told it to stop telling me oh yeah so you guys didn't have it yeah because i didn't like what it told me uh but i told me was you're on your phone too much for chrome right now it's got two hours 42 minutes for chrome because we were we were and then i've got 26 minutes on twitter 19 instagram no it doesn't count it's not tracking all of it all right uh last question good question last question this is who steve just went my turn okay uh-oh steve asked did you wrote this one yeah would you ever dye your hair because it's gray
Starting point is 00:57:53 yes i wouldn't uh well as the grayest one here no why did you ask this question i couldn't think of anything you guys were in there writing up a storm and i was sitting have you been thinking about this no i was just like goddamn i'm real gray and i've had it suggested to me that i could diet like that's not a thing i've ever thought of what are you gonna do it no i don't or diet gray no i'm just leaving it yeah i don't know i think it looks handsome it's a little bit of salt pepper and paprika what's wrong with that yeah well that's a good thing i'm i love it yeah yeah but you know this sometimes when you uh are public facing people have comments about your likeness oh certainly they do yeah oh yeah some of them yeah are named cam stewart and work for you
Starting point is 00:58:40 and they call you a chubby dangle you're thicker than i thought adam you have that story you tell once in a while on the show the calling would win about yeah the guy coming up to you yeah i was i wonder if he still listens i was on bt no no he was watching bt or something he's like yeah i watch you but we got to get rid of this and it was my stomach yeah and he grabbed you by the stomach yeah and he did come up and apologize later that evening but he was very drunk he was extremely drunk so i give him the the thing but he clearly thought it and you know what at the time i was working breakfast television from like five to nine and then we'd probably either do the podcast before or after kiss which was three to seven in the afternoon so it was
Starting point is 00:59:20 either before kiss or usually after or after yeah we do the evening of course so it's like when do you work out and the thing is too when you work those morning shifts you get hungrier you're very hungry and so i and you're not able to work out as much and whatever yeah that's where i put on weight like i did the morning show to get rid of it i did the morning show for like two weeks and getting being done work and walking outside into the blinding light at like 9 a.m horrible horrible you're like what the fuck do i do with my life not the rest of the day my life yeah what do i do with it well and you have i don't know how you ever did it you'll have a nap and then you'll feel worse after the nap because your brain's so fucking scrambled you're like i
Starting point is 01:00:00 and you'll like wake up and it's like two o'clock and i haven't done anything and i'm yeah i'm so depressed and scared and sad i would love the inside out movie but for a morning show oh the anxiety what the fuck man i don't know he's going to sleep he's going to sleep i don't fuck he says wake up i don't it's 3 a.m i don't know i don't some people are built for it i'm not no i i'd much rather work at night that's my that's my opinion on that most fun i ever had in radio i mean we had a blast on that morning show uh virgin uh but like on solo it was always um so it was always evenings afternoons or evenings the thing about afternoons that always sucked is that i always hit like a low at around three o'clock so the first two hours of the
Starting point is 01:00:41 afternoon show i'd be like and then i'd bring it up right it's always a fight well yeah a hundred Adam, you were at the Leafs game yesterday, right? New Year's Day. That's right. How did it go? How did you enjoy yourself? I would say that there are still times that the Leafs kind of shock me with their inability to play full 60 minutes.
Starting point is 01:01:02 I just wonder when that's going to change. I just wonder. They played the Jets yesterday on New Year's Day. Yeah. And against Jesse's favorite goalie, Jesse, give us a review of Connor Hellebuck. You mean Connor Fraudebuck? Oh! I don't need to say that any more time.
