Hey, you've heard of the mansion in Kingston, Ontario, haven't you?
Yes, of course.
We've done a great show there.
And Drew and Stu are the next ones on the SDPN crew to join everybody there.
It's January 11th, which is a Sunday, and it is wild card weekend, baby.
It's going to be so much fun because this NFL season is really wide open.
A lot of the teams we thought would be in it have fallen off,
and a lot of the teams we didn't think would be there
are now amongst the leaders in the league.
So this that weekend, their jurors, they're in for like some really good games.
And the event is sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon.
It'll include products.
Yeah, PBRs, baby.
I've had too many PBRs in my life.
And they will be they will have prizing and giveaways for everybody in attendance.
And the tickets are only 15 bucks.
That's at the Mansion Bar in Kingston, 506 Princess Street.
Steve, do you think that would you say that you've had enough Pabst Blue Ribbon?
Would you say you've not enough?
Like Steve, Jesse says he's had a lot.
Are you an experienced Pabst guy?
You know what?
I don't know if I've had enough.
I need to have some more to figure it out.
Exactly.
Well, you can at the mansion Sunday, January 11th with Drew and Stu.
Tickets are in the description.
Oh, yeah, that too.
Okay.
Sometimes life throws you curveballs, and you don't have time to get to them,
and that's where TaskRabbit comes in, and I think you should check this out
because here's the deal.
One of the things, one of the weird quirks about my condo building
is that they use my floor to rappel down and clean all the windows,
but they never clean my windows.
Uh-oh.
And their way around on that is like, well, it's a patio window.
You can do that yourself.
And I'm like, well, hang on a second.
What if I don't want to?
I don't have the stuff because you've got to have that scraper thing
and the washer thing.
The chemicals.
You've got to have the right chemicals.
See, that's what I'm saying.
That's why I used TaskRabbit, and I employed a tasker.
Here's the thing.
TaskRabbit connects you with taskers in your area for furniture assembly,
home repairs lawn maintenance mounting window cleaning all that stuff here's the deal 3.4
million pieces of furniture have been assembled 700 000 home repairs 1.5 million moves and counting
go ahead and get ahead of your to-do list 15 off your first task at taskrabbit.ca or on the task

Ford F-150 Tremor.
Oh, boy.
Listen, it's Boxing Day.
Maybe you didn't get what you wanted.
Oh, heavens.
Maybe you should give yourself the gift of at the very least
building a Ford F-150 Tremor at Ford.ca slash F-150.
Get a truck.
And just see what it looks like.
Give yourself a present.
Looks like a truck.
Well, it also delivers for you every single day of the year.
At least that's what it does for me.
Delivers like a truck.
What else does it do?
Trucks.
Trucks.
That's right.
Thank you, Steve.
That's so true.
Listen, it's best in class in basically everything.
You're talking about one of the highest selling cars ever in Canadian history.
You're talking about.
Highest selling what?
Trucks.
Excuse me.
Sorry.
Sorry.
360 camera systems to see tight obstacles.
So, you know, if you're in the city like I am and it's a tight parking job, which it normally is, Ford helps you out with that.
Plus, it's got, we always love this one, it's got the seat heaters and the seat coolers.
Inside the truck.
Inside the truck.
Ford.ca slash F-150, build out your Tremor right now.
Happy Boxing Day.
Let's start the show.

The Steve Dangle Podcast.
With your hosts, Steve Dangle, Adam Wilde, and Jesse Blake.
Let's go!
Okay, it's hot take a balloons the time.
Woo!
Let's go.
and and this is where we all bring three hot takes to the show and then we kind of go through
and go you know what that's a good hot take or it isn't and we've had some pretty good ones in the
past i think um less predictive name or hot take ish i can't remember okay well i did say there's
nobody who is a uh i still yet to meet a single person who's like megan trader is my favorite
artist and that was like five years ago i said it was such a red and it was a good one it was a
good one uh i only have one traffic related one today okay oh i don't have any i don't have any
i don't have any joke that's too bad i thought i'd break the streak of every year you're right
you know right i got you i got you jesse uh how do you want to kick this off um i think
we should scarborough rules rock paper scissors for who gets to go first
oh you're okay all right rock paper scissors shoot oh no i didn't do it right oh okay all
right rock paper scissors shoot adam wins he's number one rock paper scissors shoot
uh i'm three steve is two all right you guys ready yeah i love this one
austin matthews will rebound and return to form this calendar year this calendar year in 2026 so
not 2025 like this coming i was about to say yeah this is being released in 2025 he's gonna have
40 in 2025 before new year's clarify no i clarify sorry in the calendar year 2026 there you go you
will see a return to form of austin matthews you will see now i like jesse's timeline better it
might take eight or nine months like it might not be till october next year because he's probably
got to get some surgeries done yeah but austin matthews ain't dead he will rise and he will be
better again and i hope it's for the leafs oh my goodness so gentlemen what do you think of this
the first of our hot takes and hot take a palooza well it's good for him to sacrifice for the team
he is captain for by you know clearly he's not at 100 percent and it was just announced right he's
not going to the olympics no he's going to the olympics it'll be after the olympics oh that's
very confusing yeah okay well then you're wrong you think so huh yeah yeah jesse what do you think
i would love more explanation one day around the narrative of his health yeah because we're all
assuming that he's not healthy but if you ask the fucking guy he'll tell you that he is and that was
what was coming into the season that he's 100 whatever was ailing him last season he was able
to heal that with the time that it took to flame out of the playoffs and then have a summer so i
would love an explanation because we know the the injury he suffered when he got hit into the boards
i i don't want to just say it was a growing strain but it was muscular and it just took a little bit
to heal that's not what is ailing him through the performance dip is it maybe the coach and him not
meshing that way like are we blaming something that's not on an injury that's not actually
existing maybe it's just his the way he's playing with the guys around him on the team or maybe it's
the system within the coach and it is a slow it is a slow system it is it's very different than i
think it would be the best system for austin matthews's game uh he plays a lot of dump and
chase with a team that's not good at dump and chase maybe we are barking up the wrong tree
with this injury narrative about austin and there are other things going on because they tell us
his agent and and him that he's healthy okay uh here's a hot take a palooza uh everything
out of the mouth of everyone associated with the toronto maple leafs is a lie do not believe it
they are not to be trusted why do you keep trusting people who are not honest with you at all
uh sorry this isn't legitimately my take by the way um i don't believe anything they say about
anything um it you know they have such a hard time with the toronto media uh i i'll do you one
better just stop taking questions i think it would be more dignified for all involved if you just
stopped lying on camera about everything can we just though can we get a response directly to mine
which is do you think he'll be back to form by the end of 2026 well why stop there no no give
answer no politician this there are just as many well thank you for your question and it's your
right as an american there's yeah i'm gonna be the guy at the uh at the government hearing who
can i answer can i answer can i answer before not answering yes um there is just as much evidence
that i'll be able to breathe fire out of my ass by the end of the year and we have about as much
uh information yes like so what's your what is your response what's your answer i agree or
disagree i hope with all my heart every molecule in my body that you are correct okay yeah like
the opinion is i hope tomorrow he scores 80 goals in one game that's i'm rooting for the leafs i
hope they win 400 to nothing against the predators or when we're recording this or whatever game
they're playing next when you're hearing this i hope they win 400 nothing but the reality is
where's the evidence that things are going to be the ship's going to be righted here by austin
and your take is truly a take because it's just blind belief in something well i'll tell you where
where some of my belief comes from i think the leafs are torched this year i think they're done
and so when you don't have anything at stake after the olympics what's the point in playing
your star players that you know might have something to heal from right you have no point
I agree.
So why not?
Hey, why don't we end your season early, right after the Olympics?
Because you need to go to the Olympics, and I understand that.
Go get your shit cleaned up.
And then next season, we start fresh.
That's what I think.
Like, that sounds nice.
But I think if they're within any close of a playoff spot, like 10 points or less, there's no way you sit down your captain, your best player.
Well, I think that they're idiots then because this team sucks.
And even if they got into the playoffs, they'd get their ass handed to them.
That's the correct thing.
yeah they're they're running it like idiots yeah yeah so that's why i'm like oh maybe they stop
oh i think that's the thing steve had good good all right fine that was my take uh agree or
disagree leaving no i think and i asked for the evidence that it can the ship can be put in the
right direction here the evidence is that he has been this player throughout his entire career he
has a 69 goal season he has another 60 goal season he's on currently still despite this low start
a better goal pace than alexander ovechkin that's still true that's still true so that is enough
evidence i'm challenging myself here like there's so much evidence that this man is one of the best
goal scorers of this generation in the history of the national hockey league in all honesty
there's he should be able to put this thing in the right order so i don't disagree that i think
eventually he gets things going i don't know if it's going to be if it can be under this head
coach though that's the thing all right all right we'll see so there you go there's my first one
steve dangle you are next okay i got one and a lot of my hot takes are are definitely things
that i would scream at my past self okay and as far as i know time is linear and this
this little rant will never make it back to my past self but um just in case it does sleep
sleep go to sleep past self or you go to sleep in the middle of the words i'm saying
go to freaking sleep i'm serious sleep go to sleep there are a lot of people who are
chronically online who listen to this show and i am one of them there are a lot of students
who listen to this show and i got to experience what it was like to be you uh there are people
who still have livers who can go out all night and have a great time and i'm not telling you
not to go out all night you should go you should go out all night it's something i'm not able to
do anymore and i miss it very much but you should friggin sleep there are too many people who never
sleep and they have the option to sleep and they don't sleep you are up doom scrolling on your
phone you go into bed and you're like i went to bed at 10 last night did you you went to bed
at 10 last night but did you go to sleep no okay so the only thing that matters is when you went
to sleep and there are the other people who are not doom scrollers the people who don't realize
that they're doing this by accident it's the grind set people oh tell me about those people
the grind set people i'm just gonna work harder than them i'm gonna go to bed later i'm gonna get
up earlier and that i was that's how i'm gonna lap those people and that might be how you get
ahead in the short term. And guess what you're going to do in the longterm? You are going to let
everyone down because you are going to be a worse version of yourself because you didn't frigging
sleep. Okay. You're the, you're the gym rat. You're the guy who goes to the gym all the time
and you lift and you do cardio and sleep is gym for your brain. It is, it is, it is the gym for
your thought process. It is the dream. It is, it is the, it is the gym for you not having Alzheimer's
when you're older go to friggin sleep if you have the option oh my god for the love of god go to
sleep jesse your response i am struggling to figure out where the hot take was same it is
a take you gave people good advice that i think the majority of people know yeah and would agree
with. I feel like a lot of the hustle culture has flipped to getting the maximum amount of sleep
and the optimal amount of sleep because a lot of the new wave hustle culture is optimizing your
body. And that is very known in the gym community that you need sleep to grow muscles and those
sorts of things so i would like you to explain what part of telling people to sleep is flaming
hot it is a flaming hot take in that everyone knows it everyone knows it nobody does it
you are you getting enough sleep you're getting you're getting enough sleep be honest they're
not getting enough sleep sometimes it doesn't need to be a hot take jesse sometimes it just
needs to be a reminder of something that you've known this entire time because you are not living
the right way and you can sleep on that i would argue that the exercise on hot take a palooza
is that it should be a hot take and that if this was good advice a palooza
we would be saying different things i think it's i think he almost tried to turn it into
datapalooza you know tell you the thing that you already know the eagle god dad i know
maybe that that sounds like a good episode maybe that's something we should do next year
datapalooza datapalooza where all the shit that you already know that's annoying to hear
yeah the things you should be doing you know life's too short you know i'll do datapalooza
life's too short life's too short yeah you know grass isn't always greener yeah hard work
you gotta light your workplace it's sometimes more about the friends than putting in the work
yeah it's about being making connections networking that's dad advice we should do that
steve give us a dad advice got it give us no give me one right now sleep oh there you go all right
all right jesse but do you what's your rebuttal my rebuttal i i mean i agreed with yours i was
like which which part of this is piping hot adam's a great example of a guy who knows that
what did i have to get a lot of sleep yeah but like when have you ever done that getting a lot
of sleep i'm getting i'm doing better at it now you're doing better at it now better at it now
but i didn't for a while you didn't for a while and it was really not good for my health and you
knew sleep was good for you the whole time yes but part of it was work part of it i just couldn't
I didn't I had that grind set.
Oh, see, you said couldn't and then didn't.
Yeah, you're right.
You're right.
I didn't.
And then eventually I said, OK, enough of this early morning stuff.
I must change my life.
And I have.
And it's it happens slowly.
It's not a thing that occurs overnight, but it is something that you kind of get back
into.
And I've always been a really good sleeper.
Always, always, always, always.
It's just that I couldn't find time in the day where there was enough, especially when
a kid comes along and they're like, hey, I'm going to wake up in the middle of the night.
oh yeah the parents sleeping thing yeah i hear that's a mess yeah oh it's it's great no great
fun but uh i will tell you that i'm still what i'm i'm you know i don't want to be too judgmental
but i am lacking that the spicy hotness like fresh out of the oven you know pizza that i was
expecting from steve dangle on this yeah so maybe we're maybe what you're doing is you're warming up
into i think i'm warming up all right all right you know who i really like that one dude who's
the viral tiktok of i live four days and you're one day oh yeah you know him yeah i hate that
that's a really funny video the guy who was like my first day is six to twelve yeah my next day is
twelve to six and then my next day is six to twelve stack that on top in a year i've lived
four years i'm gonna kick your butt i'm gonna kick your butt i love that guy that guy is such
an intense person i'm like man you know i that is a person that if you invited them to a birthday
party you'd be like this guy is exhausting i need to get away from him i just feel so bad for the
people who watch that guy and they're like hey you know what me normal person built like a normal
person yeah can achieve all the same things that that guy on trend coke to the gills yes can do
yeah absolutely no pupils left in his eyes yep uh quad veins coming out of his neck
i'll bring it up you're bringing it up this guy he's that's day two and then the next day is 6
p.m to midnight what i've done now is i have changed and manipulated time i now get 21 days
a week stack that up over a month i'm gonna kick your butt stack it up over a year you're toast
stack it up over five years my entire life is different than it would have been otherwise
my day is 6 a.m and i'm not crazy you're crazy for thinking it takes 24 hours just like some
dude in a cave did 300 years ago my second day starts at noon and goes till 6 p.m that's day
two and then the next day is 6 p.m to midnight what i've done now is i have changed and manipulated
time i now get 21 days a week stack that up over a month i'm gonna kick your butt stack it up over
a year you're toast stack it up over five years my entire life is different than i just want to
say that nobody was living in a cave 300 years ago 300 years ago 300 years ago there was a
recent time yeah by the way you could get the same advice from any crackhead anywhere you know what
brother i learned how to change and manipulate time and all i hear is crackhead logic literally
said the words manipulate time yeah because he thinks that moving the hours and multiplying
them is changing the time
in the universe? I just
change and manipulate time, bro.
This is what I'm going to do. I change and manipulate
time and I get up and I work harder. I'm going to
kick your ass. That part comes
out of nowhere. That guy for sure smokes cigarettes.
He for sure smokes. That guy probably for sure does a lot
of roids and cocaine. He looks like
if Pinocchio
after he turned into a real boy
became a douchebag.
If we had
rankings of my favorite
viral videos over the last 10 years,
this is going to be up in the top five really it's so that's so funny well what i love is the
lack of pushback and also we don't know what happens before and after this clip like the guy
sitting there nodding yeah how much pushback do you give the crackhead giving you this office and
i don't know giving you this advice in the alley i don't know you just sort of go yeah man i don't
know and then you walk away there's a whole business of guys faking podcasts and what they
will allow you to do is they'll allow you to come in and you're you're let's say you're a course
seller you know yeah i'm going to teach you how to be to live a better life and you want clips to
go viral not everybody has a nice podcast studio right and so what these guys will do is they'll
build a podcast studio they'll provide you a host good lighting good cameras and you can come in
spout off and the host is essentially non-existent but they will sort of set you up for it and then
they will take the clips that they think are most likely to be viral running through ai to see which
ones will and then they'll start posting them for you and that's a whole business and so that's what
this guy's doing everything you just said was more depressing than i know i know i like listen i know
a i know of a grifter who's doing it right now and that's his whole business model is hey do you
are you somebody that needs viral clips we can do that all right yeah here's here's the episode
from december 19th and three quarters yeah it's uh because he has four days that's in one that's
the thing like and if you were to believe what he says uh he's missing out on several days just by
being in that interview i like hey buddy how many you better not do many of them to spray paint on
a beard like his and go up to him and be like i have five days in one day and this guy's got way
too many sunspots to be working all the time you're sorry pal like those are you're spending
a lot of time in the sun is what you're this video comes from a grifting account called strong mind
video yeah and also you know something i noticed about you brother you got short hair i don't have
time to be sitting in a chair getting uh short hair you need to if you are really about the
grind set you got to grow it down to your asshole oh my god i hate people like this saying we lived
in caves 300 years ago
makes me laugh every time.
That's a guy you shouldn't buy a course from.
No, it's literally
I've been to places
in Scarborough where this guy is hanging
out behind the plaza
ready to give you crackhead advice.
Yep.
In exactly that same
staccato sort of
cave. No, but this guy has muscles.
So people are listening to him.
Yeah, you can't pay for those.
So anyway, can you buy me a burger?
being a fan is not always the easiest no sometimes in fact most times it comes with decades of
heartbreak for that one little piece sliver of sunshine to sneak through the clouds and shine
upon thee for some teams for some teams but if you're like a florida panthers fan born in like
2021 oh things are great you're good yeah you're great no you're great but for the rest of us
we wear our hearts on our sleeves and on our chests and if you need a jersey like the one
i'm wearing which is the san jose sharks will smith jersey right big willie style uh or you
could wear a little bit more of an elevated look like steve daigle the model to my left
wearing the very premium and super cool lululemon times fanatics uh collab he's covering the part
that says lululemon sorry i don't think he was doing it on purpose so i thought i'd mention it
i think they'd like that to be seen there steve steve show him the uh show him the logo
show them the logo where is it oh it's just gently put in there stylish and cool listen
sometimes you want your fandom to be out there and in your face other times you want it to be
a little bit more subtle you know yes maybe you look like you're working for the team even
right that is where fanatics comes in whether it's the lululemon connection or it's the big logos
with your t-shirts and your hats and your jerseys fanatics.com is the place to go thank you steve
dangle for modeling for us today we did a great job sometimes life throws your curveballs and you
don't have time to get to them and that's where task rabbit comes in and i think you should check
this out because here's the deal one of the things one of the weird quirks about my condo building
is that they use my floor to repel down and clean all the windows but they never clean my windows

All right.
Wait, who's next?
Who do I know?
jesse jesse is next right okay yeah jesse blake so i i don't know how controversial this will be
but oh boo you're doing a bad job i gotta tell you if traffic is good for society
we are better off as a society with a lot of traffic
why that's not my hot take oh my god i was like man i'm ready i'm ready i was like
the hot take is rage bait is good no no um my first hot take i'm gonna do my sports one
because i feel like it's start there um i i gotta say nhl fans the casual one not the hardcore but
the casual NHL fan should be a little bit more grateful because I think the casual NHL fan is
in a much better place than the casual NBA fan. And we do not sell the game enough to illustrate
that. NBA fans, I find the casual ones are absolutely miserable from the content that
they get out of the major broadcasters in the NBA. The TNT panel, as much as I love them,
as much as we praise them for being the perfect example of what a panel show should be on
television, NBA on TNT with Charles Barkley and Ernie and all those guys and Shaq, they
spend so much time telling you how much better it was in the 90s and shitting on their own
damn product.
Those guys hate basketball.
And the casual NBA fan has to sit there because that's the best show that everybody says and
sit there and take it.
And that's their content.
The game itself is in a much worse place from a entertainment standpoint than the NHL is.
The last three minutes of a basketball game is the worst product in pro sports right now
amongst the North American for pro sports.
It is ugly.
It is a slog.
So often we get the counters of how long the last three minutes of an NBA game takes in
real time.
And it's pushing 30 to 40 minutes with the amount of timeouts all the coaches are saving with the amount of commercial breaks they take in the final three minutes.
It's ridiculous.
And any NBA fan that's a sit there and sit through that.
I'm sorry for you.
Wow.
And from an NHL standpoint, you can never say that hockey is boring, especially when you got two teams going at it head to head, especially in the last parts of the game.
they don't even take commercial breaks it ramps up they're not scheduled for that because they
know that's when the product's the best you can't take these guys and give them free breaks in the
last parts of the game so as hockey fans we complain a lot about the nhl and all of our
complaints are completely justified from the commissioner downwards from the goalie interference
things we talk about all the time we're completely justified in our complaints about the nhl
from us caring about this league but in comparison to how the league we sometimes point to her like
oh look what they're doing over there we're not a real league that product shit that NBA products
real shit right now and we just need to be grateful for our little thing here and continue
to build it up and make the game better by complaining but let's all take a second and say
the nba has got a worse that's my hot take i like this take now jesse tell me why in the last
four or five years it seems the product has gotten so much worse in terms of the play on
the court what is it they've changed the game and it's like they've changed it in the right way
it's not that it's it's like you shouldn't have done this but the nba game has been so simplified
because they figured out how to hack basketball.
Basketball used to be a game
where a lot of guys drive the net,
you take some short two-pointers,
you take some three-pointers.
And now if you look at the shot charts,
if you're really in the NBA, you know this.
Shots have gone from either you're taking a three
or you're getting something in close to the basket.
The mid-range part of the NBA game is gone.
So the product itself from a technical standpoint
has devolved into a very simple game
that I don't feel like a casual person really enjoys
because they didn't grow up with that.
And it's a completely different game.
And people who are hardcores get it
because the coaching staffs around the league,
very smart basketball people,
have figured out how to hack basketball.
But the NBA itself hasn't done anything to fix that.
And the NFL is such a great product
because year in, year out,
they manipulate the rules of football
to make the product the most entertaining.
They continually protect the quarterbacks
to the point it's ridiculous,
but they know the people are going to complain about how protected the
quarterbacks are,
but we're keeping the offensive levels at a certain standpoint.
We're maximizing entertainment.
The NBA has never made rule changes to combat the smart people within
basketball,
hacking the NBA game.
So the product is being devaluing because people are figuring out how to
win games continuously and everybody's doing the same way.
So watching a basketball game isn't as entertaining as it was 15 years
ago.
and like the the golden state warriors that that peak of their dynasty they really discovered
basketball and their all-time great teams would be i think like in offensive ratings for this season
they're ranked like 17th if you take their offensive rating the amount of threes they've
taken they're like middle of the pack of an nba team today because everybody went in that direction
tenfold the boston celtics last year two years ago i forget took the most threes ever for an
nba team ever in a season and that's just the direction everybody is gone so the product's
ugly and the nba is not doing anything to fix it they need to like do things like get rid of the
corner three sorry i'm going long on this no give it to a lot of thoughts i'm just kind of spewing
but like they need to like get rid of corner threes you can round off the edges a lot of
people talk about that for a long time and they don't make fundamental changes to the game of
basketball because adam silver is scared and he commissions this league like a scared commissioner
afraid of doing anything to upset the superstars of the game because he is beholden to them
and not the fans and the game of basketball damn you might bars just think that i disagree with
this no notes no notes uh the nba you know we talked about them a lot on this show as the
standard that the nhl should live up to and a few years ago i do think that was legitimately true
um but in recent years and it's happened kind of gradually so it hasn't really come up but it's
like every decision they make takes them in the wrong direction and they're no longer that golden
goose that that golden standard that uh i would hold the nhl i don't look at i'm like that anymore
no it's nfl when we go to micro things like recently on last week's episode i brought up
the injury reports and the breakdowns of that yeah where they're like injury designation every day
that stuff's really good yeah we can find examples where you take things from other leagues and
you're like this could really add to the nhl but as a whole as a product we're on the same page
where like i don't hold you up here anymore us casual fans watching hockey are enjoying things
much more than the nba right imagine if uh chris cuthbert and craig simpson during every game like
people complain about them a lot but what if they were just like all these guys suck this game sucks
i hate watching this game like charles barkley will get on tv and be like i'm not watching this
damn team yeah like i can't think of a recent example we wouldn't take that in hockey no
you couldn't do that and he let's be honest the the first second and third best thing that that
panel does is they're funny the non-basketball things yeah they're just hilarious guys talking
the dirty water thing what was it galveston galveston yeah that's still one of the funniest
of all time oh people of galveston go down there get that dirty water and like the way that the
other guys are laughing about it like i had to look up what he meant i'm talking about big women
in san antonio there's nothing to do with the product of basketball nothing nothing nothing
nothing talking about getting a freaking bracelet from a stranger in a sauna like just so funny
they're fucking funny guys and like who he played for like who he played for which is awesome and
we do it but sometimes i'm like he ought to know who he played for yeah like you're the nba i'm
still okay with it i'm still okay with it because they're human it's a funny bit yeah you're not
gonna know who five six hundred people are gonna play well but then hockey night in canada will
take to the air and be like the la kings are in town for the only time this season there's a
fourth liner in the lineup tonight here's everything about him yeah including three or
four facts his own family didn't know we're gonna talk about him more than austin matthews yeah and
that that's part of the problem is perhaps a step in the too far in the other direction yeah but no
uh like the nba is it's not in a good spot not to mention the clippers were involved in a massive
sale that just kind of went away no it's it's just it's just in it's hanging it's in limbo
let's call it what it is the richest owner in the league is going to get away with it
the giant betting scandals haven't mentioned that yeah you know just the players were cheating
what the head coach of a team chauncey billups had to leave his team early this season he coached
a game and then the next day was arrested by fbi agents yeah and like that's a thing that
happened in that league and what you hear from former nhl players is they will talk about like
how the game is softer which is i think that's just true across all sports everyone goes guys
think it's harder back in my day old guys think the old guys become their parents and maybe we
don't want it to be as hard on our kids as it was for us maybe that was no i think you should just
be able to beat the shit out of everyone like hockey wasn't great when people didn't wear
helmets but you hear all straight up i'll tell you hockey and anybody in the 90s saying that
hockey was better didn't watch no it was fucking objectively wasn't horrible the devils they'll
talk about like this guy oh man this guy can really shoot man they couldn't shoot like that
when i put all goalies were like this when i played they weren't this fast when i played and
and they just don't talk about new hockey like it's a bad thing whereas everyone in the nba is
like if i played today i would break wilt chamberlain's record every game yeah and that's
just not true paul pierce yeah no kevin garnett and so many old nba players when i listen to them
on like podcasts and stuff some of the jealousy comes through in that they watch the guys today
who are like 12 guys on benches making tens of millions of dollars and they through their career
made hundreds of thousands yeah you can see that they're so jealous of the amount of money in the
game right now and that they're not able to make it so they say things like if i was in the game
today i'd be putting up 30 well you're not you're not you take that up with your parents that they
had you when they had you that's not the current guy's fault anyway hey sorry i went a little long
no it's all good because it was very good i like that uh this one will be a bit shorter but i want
to know what you guys think and as a fan of star wars this pains me to say this but reboots sequels
legacy characters all that sort of shit that is why movies suck today uh the the desire for
nostalgia is fucking killing us and i mean this in podcasting i mean this with the streamers i
mean this at the movie theater i mean this in music too right it used to be cool to hear a sample
from 30 years ago come into a new hip-hop song like dr dre was great at finding like
oh here's something from parliament funkadelic and here's something from uh i think california
california love is like a joe cocker song right you'd never know that but when you play when you
hear the joe cocker song you're like oh that's exactly what that song is um now i'm getting
fucking david getta and bb rexa ripping off a song from three years ago yeah and i'm like okay
so it's not working in hip-hop and pop music anymore i don't need and i listen i will watch
every sort of star wars sequel right i will not all of them are good not all of them are good
some of the tv shows are okay some of them have been great most of them have not been that good
i don't need that much right uh and and and then we go to i don't know so we got we got movies we
got music what else we're all music oh podcasting you mentioned kevin garnett and paul pierce i
don't give a fuck what any of the old athletes have to say anymore you know why i used to
wait for that i used to get a book on that i used to but now the entire medium has become
old war stories and at a certain point i am thirsting for something new i'm thirsting for
a new idea i want a new storyteller i want a new point of view across all media enough enough and
listen i know that that that that there are certain places for that i'm not saying that
we would never have an old player on
to talk about a specific moment.
That's not what we do though.
On this network, that's not what we do.
On this network, we're asking for conversations
happening now and in the future.
And that is on purpose
because I'm fucking sick of seeing these interviews
where it's like, well, it's just the way
that it used to be.
I don't give a shit.
I don't care.
And I bet, oh man, did you end up scoring
and was it hilarious?
Did you guys end up having sex with all those girls?
oh was that hilarious did you guys end up drinking too much and playing hungover the next day is that
was it hilarious like enough i know i i know the end of the story damn before it even fucking
starts i like this story as much as i did the other 18 times i heard it that's the point
and we're having like we are scraping the bottom of the barrel in certain instances and it's not
just hockey it's not it's not just basketball it's everything it's always sad when a person
becomes a museum of themselves a hundred percent yeah a hundred percent like what are we doing
to push forward to move forward to to to advance new ideas yeah the amount of tv shows that are
just like oh this is a remake of the other thing like the paper they came out with this year or
it's just the office except that the paper yeah terrible like just but make a new show yeah why
are we stop making the old shows and you can make it in that format because you know parks and rec
the office 30 rock they're all done in a similar format right avid elementary came out which is
essentially kind of the same world of shooting the shows yep not just a remake trying to recreate
the office yeah different thing yep different thing entirely yep and it has a different feel
and it's funny in a different way yep yes there there you mentioned in music there have been some
songs in hip-hop in the last couple years that are good but it's just an old beat and like not
even a new interpretation on an old no let me let me give you the worst example of that in the
history of music what anxiety oh man doji doji's anxiety did nothing to the goatee song and it's
it's just the fucking song and can i tell you something so we we got into san jose we got into
san francisco airport remember that and we got in at night yeah and we got in an uber the three of
us and what song was playing on the radio was it anxiety it was that yeah and i was sitting there
and we just got off a flight and i'd slept a little bit and i'd you know it'd been a long
day and whatever and i was sitting listening to this song and i'd heard the clip of it on tiktok
but the layering it's so fucking annoying yeah it's so fucking bad and i'm like there's and
they almost executed it too well i saw it i sat there and i'm like this song is giving me anxiety
listening to it and i don't i don't mean that i literally has a had a physical reaction in my
stomach yeah to that they loop to somebody that i used to know and then they just played the loop
over and over again and she sings anxiety over and over again and they're like hit single and
then they go like somewhere in the song too that's not that we let's make new music that's not even
the one the one the one i meant is this guy used the hollaback young and beat by fabulous yeah and
he rapped over it and i'm like yeah but you could just listen to the fabulous song because he also
raps over this beat yeah he's already done it you don't even need to do any work yeah you could just
be like hey have you ever heard this fabulous song yeah yeah like i didn't it's you're not that's not
even a remix that's you just rapping over a fabulous beat yeah it's it's worse than ai at
this no no you went too far slightly better take a step back all right well listen that's the hot
take so the hot take is enough with the fucking nostalgia new ideas please and i'm you know you
know what's some great i'm gonna give you some great examples okay great examples uh in rock
music turnstile fucking great hardcore band they're all over tiktok right now you can't miss
them they're great they're pushing boundaries i love it uh in movies popular movies okay i'm
need to be a popular movie uh dune and dune 2 fucking brilliant made off of a book in the 70s
which star wars is also based off of very unloosely but they took that and they finally
translated it to movies and it looks amazing and it's beautiful it's great okay those are a couple
examples of people pushing the fucking ball for not everything is shit not everything is shit
there's plenty of good stuff out there i just feel like like i saw did you guys see the avengers
doomsday clip leak and it's fucking they're bringing back robert downey jr again but this
time he's dr doom so he's the bad guy but he's masquerading as the iron man so he can so that's
how they fit him back in and then now chris fucking pine is not chris pine chris evans is
captain america's back now too and he's gonna return they can never just do things for the
perfect amount of time fuck off do you know the three three of the biggest movies that pixar has
has coming out next of their like lineup that's due in the future next two years inside out three
toy story five yep did i say inside out three no no um uh what else could they do what else
frozen three we got toy story five and 26 we got incredibles three no
okay and then we got coco two who the fuck is coco who was coke guys
oh maddie says coco was so good yeah you like coco coco's a fantastic movie okay they need a two
uh no uh i think the first one was was conclusive enough i don't know we need to same thing with
moana moana 2 was rushed and shitty it's horrible first one was amazing just because the movie's
good you don't need to make a second one yes thank you we don't need incredibles 3 people
how many land before times are there enough the first no no that one you like you went too far
again you went too far come on whether bad about the water wasting what the fuck is that we need
18 land before time no we didn't yeah we didn't and i didn't need them all the vhs we also needed
26 all right all right steve you're next let's see if you can get hot on this one um
dad takes with steve uh eat your vegetables do you eat your vegetables you should consider
wear a nice pair
of warm socks. Why are you doing a Bill Costner
I don't know what the fuck
Where are you man
You're not a devil
Go ahead Steve. Speaking of
here's the hot take
a lot of you are
weird about kids
and need to stop
and here's what I mean by that
Interesting. There
are two
factions of the internet that should be bombed off the face of it forever uh one is the people
who document every single thing their kid does forever and they post it everywhere i regret
ever posting my kids online and i'm not going to do it anymore i'm not one of those people who's
like hard and fast you may not do that sort of thing but i understand the reasons why some people
are but the road that i'm going down is there are too many people who are like this is how you
parent this is the only way you can parent you're a bad parent if you don't parent this way and also
your life means more if you are a parent all that stuff is sickening and i friggin hate it
there has been a counter attack to that that i also hate a lot and that is the people going
i don't have kids i'm never going to have kids and i am better than you because i haven't had
any kids look at all of my free time that i get i can do whatever the fuck i want talking to you
dickhead how about i don't make content like that no no i noticed the camera kept panning to you
and i'm like maddie no i'm not it's not jesse no jesse appeal skit jesse is
shaking his head i'm just so proud of everybody that's come out of the closet
it camera goes no no no no no jesse's you know all those folks out there jesse doesn't have kids
and he does it right he does it right by not having them and just living his life and then
on occasion going to me or adam who do have kids and going how are your kids that's how you don't
have kids you don't do it by going at anyone who has kids and calling them crotch goblins
and weird shit like that they do they do do that it sounds like you got your feelings there they
did uh maybe i did a little bit and i you know it's because i have them and didn't look down on
you for not having them i know what it's like to not have them i know what it's like to not have
them and want them and now i know what it's like to have them and i was happy living my life the
whole time and i was happy for you living your life the whole time do not judge me for the fact
that i have kids i don't judge you for the fact that you don't have kids don't judge people for
not having kids how about we all leave everyone the fuck alone for their decision on whether or
not they have kids how about that i i think that's an interesting point i think it's a hot take i
think it qualifies as a hot take and i think what happens is that people who don't have kids get
asked constantly are you going to have kids yes and that's shitty but the counter-attack to being
shitty is to not be shitty back that's not what happens in today's day and age sometimes what
have you been living under sometimes it's fun and satisfying and you know how many times have
we wanted to say the thing at someone who's just being a dickhead do you but is it right
is it the right thing to do because there are going to be casualties in your little war with
this other person on the internet and everyone's just going to think less of them and also you
jesse your response um i think you're definitely valid in your opinion it's just it's not content
i i consume so i can't say i think tiktok serves it to parents in order to piss them off yeah yes
i feel like these people are rage baiting parents yeah they are yes they are i don't feel the need
to justify the fact that i have a child to some fucking asshole on the internet yeah if it doesn't
work for you that's great no but these these are people who i think think of themselves as
relatively progressive people and i look at you the exact same way i i look at a rage-baiting
incel uh like you're you're anti-society anti-person anti-kindness and i don't have time
for it anti-kindness adam is somebody with kids how do you kid kid sorry uh i think i see that
stuff and i just kind of go i don't know if if i was basing parts of my personality on that uh i
feel like i would be living a pretty empty life uh and not not i think that people are well within
their rights not to have kids because i remember a time in my life where i very definitely didn't
want to have kids yeah and then i wanted to have one and then i had one and i was like that's
enough imagine my position when people kept asking me through most of my 30s they've stopped asking
since i got the the snip snip done um and posted about it uh my mother was thrilled um uh but at
you know at a certain point like especially when natalie and i got married people were like well
you obviously gonna have kids like you here's what i got you ready well don't you want to complete
the family yeah like that's awful that's oh yeah oh of course yeah yeah and there were people that
said to me and still say to me aren't you sad that you never had a boy oh my god oh yeah straight
face totally nice normal people so these are real grown adults so i understand where the other side
is coming from because they're going hey i don't need these fucking questions can you all fuck off
with your kids right now i get that but most people are not like that but i have had that
i have had that that question leveled my way complete the family blah blah while you guys
are a blended family don't you want to have one of your own like shit like that oh yeah it's wild
you wouldn't like they're a labubu and and don't you want to complete the set
it's a person you fucking weirdo it's also 300 400 grand to raise one now that too right like
that's what they say it costs from like birth to yeah what about like my old societal norms
i know it's weird so i i i get steve the other side of that where they're coming from because
you do get asked so jesse that is my answer to that i get asked fucking fucked up questions all
the time by people who it's like they know i don't like them and they're still asking me this
like you wouldn't believe the agency people believe that they have with kids it's crazy
oh yeah i'm gonna ask you that so steve you can understand why they might be posting that

I can go to mine.
I'll make it a little quicker.
because this one for me is it's a hot take but it's more for me to adam's gonna hate me
sit on my nostalgia oh soapbox for a little bit done with it as a big fan of music many different
genres of music a consumer of music i miss the era when cds mattered specifically cd era with
mp3s that to me is the peak of music consumerism we had the ability to choose the songs we wanted
to listen to itunes was around you could buy a single if you wanted to you could and then you
also had cds where you had a physical thing to hold in your hand to connect you to the artist
and to the music and vinyls as much as like everybody fucking loves vinyls and you have
your vinyl collection people still buying vinyls that's me the sake of hey it's cool to have
vinyls i got a vinyl collection too cds were better cds were this little thing that had the
booklet to uh cd booklets i missed them and it's it's portable it's not clunky like a vinyl you
could collect many of them too because they were so cheap in my day i would go to hmv at dundas
square the triple decker one i'd pick up a cd for 10 bucks if it was new and then if it was a uh an
older one, you could get them three for 25, depending on the color sticker they had, or two
for 15. Great deals. When I was going to Ryerson, pick up CDs all the time. And I miss that part of
music because there was something tangible and physical to connect me to this artist and these
songs. And in that era, it wasn't the vinyl era where you had to drop the needle and play your
damn vinyl through or drop your needle on whatever songs you want to hear you still had your phone
that could play all the songs too or your ipod your dedicated music device which i also loved
and play the music that way but then you also had this keepsake of the cd that you could drop in
and we'd also appreciate the albumness of albums right we don't do that anymore albums it doesn't
matter about the story from beginning to end but in the cd era we had the leftover art of the vinyl
era and the future of the current streaming era. It was the perfect mesh of the both
eras that we are living in, the one era we're living in now and the previous era of the other
generation. We lived in this perfect middle harmony for this little decade there. And sometimes it
makes me really sad when I think about how I got to grow up in my late teens and early 20s in that
perfect era of music consumption and i wish we had that back and my hot take is that that was
the perfect moment for being somebody who cared about music can i add to that very quickly sure
album art album art used to matter yeah when you had something physical to album art would also
matter and sometimes you get a cd in the plastic case sometimes it would be the special edition
one and it would be just all the whole cardboard case remember the yes kanye west my beautiful
dark twisted fantasy yeah many many artists in that little era there went to the the folded
cases which i love cardboard ones yeah i love and like i don't want to have to look you up
if i want to learn more i listened to the whole album isn't that enough and it did used to be
enough oh yeah because it meant you bought it and i get to learn everything about you and this
work of art you have the lyrics printed in there on the booklet too and then there's photos in
there of the all the photos taken on the album photography day or whatever it is and then yeah
usually the artist in that era of music cared so deeply about the album creation itself you'd learn
you'd learn so much more through the music itself as opposed to like needing that follow them on
instagram or anything because they're telling their life story in those songs because the
albums still mattered in that era but you'd also get the you got your phone and your ipod too
it was perfect it was perfect it was perfect i'm so sad we don't live in that world anymore there
was an anticipation when you bought a cd and you didn't have your cd player on you maybe you had
to like take it to the car or take it home and that's a little older than me and that used to
be the thing like you go to hmv buy the cd then you'd have to like wait and there was something
cool about taking the plastic off no yeah that's me that was exciting i used to uh when i was an
intern at chum when i was 17 18 i would uh i would take the cds from chum home and then upload them
onto itunes so i didn't have to pay for it but it was all the record because the record companies
oh so you're the reason we're in this hell 100 yeah uh and you know what's scary is that like
now uh and the same thing goes with video games jesse if you don't own the physical copy they
can take it away from you even if you bought it they could still take it away from you they could
just say it's not available or we're not supporting it or whatever that fucking sucks i don't i think
that's weird if you bought it if you paid for it you should be able to hang on to it forever cold
take everything's bad maddie as a young in these days who likes things what do you think i want to
be like you jesse in the sense that i want to be yeah just overall no um i love collecting vinyls
a new vinyl these days is going for like 65 yeah yeah it is a very expensive um artsy hobby to have
i would much rather be into cds if that was just like i don't know there's something about
having a vinyl though and like getting the crackle out of it and everything and displaying it's just
something like also for like home design too and just like a comfort thing but i have a friend
that is super into cds and he literally bought a kia soul like an old kia soul car so he could play
cd discs wow like he like that was one of the big things for him it was still a cheap car but he was
like yeah i just there's something about going a long drive and put it in cd on a cd yeah no percent
having the little thing in your your car that's definitely something uh nostalgia that i miss
and my dad too in the hit i forget what car it was i think it was he had a lincoln way back in
the day uh he had a disc changer in his trunk you know those were you yeah it was like nine or
something height of luxury yeah heights of luxury yeah you throw nine cds in the trunk i used to
have to bring like when i would drive up to my shifts in barry i used to have to bring a cd
jacket with me and i yeah and i had the mp3 cd player remember you get up like 150 songs on a cd
that was a big deal i loved a cd jacket who made your dad's car exhibit i know right yeah um linking
it the the streaming thing about taking away when you don't own it um there's a song recently uh
travis scott's 90210 i'm pretty sure they changed the intro on spotify it had been changed a long
time ago uh like back when it like came out on apple music and all the other platforms but
they had changed the intro to match the other ones on uh spotify in particular and people are
like i've been they're changing my music and this is like 10 years after the album's come out like
this just came out but um when you don't own it yourself they can do whatever they want to yes
so it's interesting there's a few artists songs people love you know you know when taylor swift
was doing the taylor's version of every album before she bought back her her things um uh other
artists have tried that but they didn't have the money that taylor did uh so there's a lot of
artists from like the 80s where you go back and you try to find a song and they're in some spat
with their fucking record company and they've re-recorded their biggest hit and it sounds like
fucking toilets like it's terrible and and you're trying to listen to it you're like okay so that
one song i can't get unless i go and i find it on a random movie compilation that also happens to
exist on spotify or i go to youtube and it's fucking crazy sometimes i'm like this is this is
there's a couple of songs i'm thinking of that you guys probably won't know that i'm like
why this is this artist's biggest pinnacle song how the fuck can i not get their actual original
version of doing it and sometimes the artist is arrogant enough to go well this version's better
and you should like it it's like fuck off kiss my ass yeah kiss my ass exactly uh movies too
and tv shows like they can edit whatever they want and yep when they take things off of a
streaming service and it doesn't exist anywhere just doesn't exist yeah and i i hate that idea
of them holding your content the idea that you want to watch it's yeah anyways nuts all right
last take it's a short one but it's celebrity so i tried to did sports i did lifestyle now i'm doing
celebrity justin trudeau and katie perry are in the history of all couples the most perfect
celebrity match
in the history of all couples.
Now, and I'm saying this
because, listen,
Katy Perry has dated
some famous people, right?
Orlando Bloom, Russell Brand,
she was married to back in the day.
She dated,
who else did she date?
She dated some popular people.
Some big people.
Wild.
Travi McCoy.
Are you just mad
because she's your ex?
Katy Perry?
Yeah.
I've never slept with Katy Perry.
I've never dated Katy Perry.
That's not what the blogs are saying.
I saw some blind items.
um local radio dj i met katie perry one oh now it's changing it was an interview for the mmv
but uh better with the navi but
he's making an avatar joke uh remember when you said you'd fuck a navi yeah
if you're not subscribed to sdp sdp vip now's your time you gotta you gotta subscribe to hear
steve break down how he would fuck a navi avatar vividly that's not an exaggeration um all right
so sorry uh so i the reason i think they're so perfect is now i'm just picturing justin trudeau
as a navi with jeans that's right blind one of those navi things navi copters whatever they
call them anyway uh anyway the the uh uh the thing about them that i think makes them so perfect is
essentially they're both harmless and they're also kind of people like in their current state
yeah in their current state like he was ahead of state when you're ahead of state people are
gonna die on your watch yeah right um but right now he can't do it like there's not a single
leader in world history that hasn't caused the death of someone yeah you know the murder that
is true right now he's just some guy now he's just some guy katie was a big pop star and then
And sort of fizzled out a little bit, released it now.
It was kind of bad.
The tour didn't sell that well, blah, blah, blah.
But they've done it.
They've made it.
There's nothing about them that's not going to be famous going forward.
And let's be honest.
All of us kind of look at them like, I'm definitely smarter than you.
Which isn't true.
Which is objectively not true.
She's been to space.
But everybody thinks, yeah, I'm probably a little smarter than.
I'm a little bit more of a serious person than Justin Trudeau.
I'm a little bit more of a serious person than Katy Perry, I think.
And yet together, they come and they form this harmless war.
I don't think there's been a better celebrity couple since like Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock.
You know what I mean?
Where you're like, you know what?
That fucking works and I don't know why.
And that's back in the day.
i think i hope justin trudeau and katie perry are still holding hands at 80 i'm rooting for those
two wow that's my hot take my hot take is they are the greatest celebrity couple we've seen of
all this generation maybe of all time of all time what do you say what say you steven jesse that's
good that's a good hot take because i think it's it's controversial enough where people will be
like no they suck blah blah but you have a lot of good points to stand by that great take what's
important an important takeaway that i'm positive many comments have already not taken into account
adam is not complimenting them no no oh well never mind i'm saying that we're very judgmental of them
and yet they found happiness no you're you're complimenting their relationship yes no no steve's
saying something different yeah you're complimenting their relationship you are not complimenting them
as people yeah i don't know what they're like as people yeah exactly well so you're not like
praise be to our liberal god justin trudeau i am not and also the now there's a lot of shit that
he did that i was like that was fucking stupid dude but how about now the the first lady of
liberal yeah lism katie perry well the first lady of phony feminism from the 20 2010s oh heaven
100 she was and her music has not evolved past that you know what both of them peaked in 2014
both of them as a man i exclude myself from this conversation i would never make that accusation
i would listen all right who would who would rank who would challenge them for that title
well right now i mean perfect couple but a perfect i thought a really good pairing but
they weren't great they never got elite tier was machine gun kelly and megan fox i thought that
was a really that's an interesting pair no that's an interesting i thought they were always a
mismatch here's a bad one uh sydney sweeney and uh justin bieber agent scooter braun what a
fucking stupid group that is i've always thought kim and kanye were perfect for each other
yeah but then he was crazy you know yeah but he wasn't crazy i thought they were good for each
other yeah with you though some of the stuff that's come out about his time at adidas and
some of the shit he was saying she knew that he was he leaned that way uh well before any they
were perfect for each other yeah she knew who she knew this is none of this is a surprise to her
what's happening right now none of this are rihanna and asap still going strong yeah they
are there i think they're a good couple they're better than they're better than katie and justin
yeah that's powerful they're sexy too together universally liked yeah yeah which does not match
the people we're talking about oh yeah that's true yeah no yeah that's a great couple i don't
know i thought the question the follow-up was who's like a more like a bull celebrity couple
i don't know i did but you know what all of them the thing with asap and rihanna is they're not in
the public eye that much because they're actually not anymore no because they're you know doing the
smart thing and raising their families whereas justin and katie they want to be seen yeah and
like that's what i'm talking about when i talk celebrity couple like you're calling the paparazzi
before you leave hey make sure we're in the restaurant together the one with the mirrors
on the ceiling so that people can take pictures yes 100 then they're gonna know what we order
uh steve next one uh this is my uh traffic sucks this is my sports one
uh change your tires at least rotate them at least once a year everybody's gonna take the
driver's test every two weeks if you're gonna drive around me these parts in oshawa and ajx
yeah all right yeah all right here's my non-dad hot take okay give it to us listen to your mother
no sorry okay here's my real hot take stop watching every game uh you can't handle it
it makes you a worse person and it makes your time on earth less enjoyable you don't need to
do this what did you say maddie i said is this for yourself no i am saying this as someone who
is not able to follow this advice i have to watch every game and it has an effect on my brain and
if you if this is not your living and this applies for hockey basketball anything
um you do not need to do this you do not need to watch every single game let me break this down
for you. Let's operate under the assumption that every hockey game, the runtime of that hockey
game is two and a half hours, which is pretty close to true. Sometimes it's around two 20.
Sometimes it's around two 40. It let's say it evens out to two and a half, two and a half hours
is 150 minutes. There are 82 games. That's so many games. That is 82 times 150. That is 12
thousand three hundred minutes per regular season that is 205 hours per regular season
that is 8.5 days per regular season that is 2.3 percent of your year every season and it is a
higher percentage if you get rid of the off season where obviously your favorite team cannot hurt you
the vast majority of you do not need to watch every game and i would encourage you
to take some games off because that is too much man so my response uh i'm gonna quote
rage against the machine fuck you i won't do what you tell me that's okay i think you're right
but i think that that's sort of like hey man you should spend less time on your phone
you know and i think it is a hot take no one views it that way it's like hey man you should
stop eating so much dessert it's like well but i like sweets yeah steve that's a hot take i think
it's you should quit smoking no no see that's what this is like i know it's bad for me but i'm
addicted yeah like this is this is you're upset at the leafs hot take yeah like you can say that
yeah i don't remember saying it like that because you can you can say this about anything like you
counted the hours you could be like oh don't play call of duty uh two hours a day people somebody's
like yeah i know i enjoy playing call of duty two hours a day okay it's a couple four times a week
or whatever it is you know it's i feel like if somebody's like i like watching the leafs
and my emotional well-being isn't tied to it and i enjoy my team but i'm upset when they lose
but i'm not like my mental health isn't destroyed because the team's bad like it's fine here sorry
counter to anyone who's like but i like it no you don't you don't like it enough to watch it that
much not the leafs not this year's least for the love of fuck what if it's what if it's like what
if somebody watched all the sharks last year because they're like that's my team you should
watch every colorado avalanche game you should even when they were bad no you shouldn't watch
them you should watch these ones they're way better you should watch these ones for sure
you should watch every single game of this year sharks last year sharks no you didn't need to
watch every game of last year what if you enjoy that you know what i like no you don't i'm telling
people what you like watching your team lose six one every night you know what i'm telling people
what they do and don't enjoy i like this i'll tell you what i like i like watching a bad game
and then talking to my friends about how shitty the game was that brings me real joy that makes
the shitty games worth it like there's nothing better than when the cj show group chat is humming
that's a great group chat we have a great group chat there that's a great when our when our five
guys group chat here which is the three of us and drew and justin okay when that's humming
it's great you know i want to talk to my sports friends about sports even when they're bad so
that's where i would disagree with you that's why i think it's a hot take it's a good hot take
i think a lot of people would benefit from bailing on games but not us steve no not on no we're good
for you if the least good for if the least were first the atlantic you wouldn't even this wouldn't
have never crossed your mind yeah oh yeah then you wouldn't need to quit smoking because it
wouldn't be smoking it would be breathing jesse go ahead what's yours last one on hot take a
palooza that's something 2025 edition all right that's that was definitely something there folks
next up i think that's a good hot take because we disagree with it yeah it was definitely hot
yeah all right jesse go ahead it was hot i wonder if you guys will find this one hot
because you guys are the food connoisseurs on this program i would i think gave it away i think
that's that's fair to classify the two of you as that right the the two gentlemen most equipped to
talk about sustenance and you do what you're talking about oh my goodness go over to adam
photoshop contest on that one no you can't get like adam
anybody listening you're missing out maybe you're not missing out on great chin action
i gotta say strong chins give you a good strong double chin for the final
hot take a palooza of 2025 let's do it my hottest take of them all
breakfast sucks go to hell go straight to hell he's getting maddie is taking off
Maddie's leaving.
Headphones.
Maddie's leaving.
Oh, she's done.
She's done.
Yep, bye.
Peace.
She walked out of the room.
She's right.
What?
She walked out of the room.
Go off, clean slate.
All right, I'm going to tell you.
What are you talking about?
I'm about to put you on, folks.
Hey, breakfast?
They've been lying to you.
You don't need to eat a bowl of sugar at breakfast when you wake up.
Just because they call it breakfast doesn't mean you have to eat the stupid breakfast
food that general mills made into breakfast food outside of eggs everything they've sold you is
stupid and a lie and you don't need it food is food is food is food if you want to eat in the
morning some of us don't really need to wake up and have a giant bowl of sugar but if you do you
can just eat food you don't have to wait until a certain hour of the day to eat food you can have
chicken. You can have steak. Some people eat steak at breakfast, and I applaud those people
because that's just normal food. Nobody said you got to eat at this portion of the day when you
wake up at nine in the morning, you eat your pancakes or your bowl of cereal or your little
granola fruit. None of that has to be eaten immediately in the middle of your morning when
you're just waking up you can have mashed potatoes you can have all of the foods in the universe
just because it's in the morning doesn't mean you have to have shit breakfast food okay some of us
also don't even enjoy breakfast i'm raising my hand he doesn't like breakfast don't like breakfast
don't eat it or in general don't really eat breakfast uh like coffee and ag1 for breakfast
shout out ag1 don't need it and if i were to eat breakfast when i do eat breakfast i eat regular
food for breakfast so you're you can eat a bowl of chickpea pasta for breakfast same shit
hey gentlemen i'm gonna hottest take of the year i'm gonna quote you i'm gonna quote someone that's
really near and dear to my heart his name is ron swanson there has never been a sadness that can't
be cured by breakfast fictional some writer wrote that in the nbc writing studio and he was right
and he was correct i don't know breakfast food is the best food in the whole world there's not
a breakfast i'll give you eggs eggs are good they're like a super food and people don't
appreciate how bacon i'll give you the most flavorless one oh my god give me any breakfast
food name them all there are regular ass foods that are better and i would rather have those
foods you don't like breakfast you don't like bacon shepherd's pie okay shepherd's jesse is
coming from having leftovers for breakfast which i will say is great shit name another breakfast
food name it sausages burgers i win you've never had breakfast for dinner i don't i have dinner
for dinner i food i have regular food at any moment you never have bacon and eggs for for
dinner i have in my life yes it's not something you look forward to i would rather have had

yeah our air-conditioned rooms in december because we do a show with adam what is minus
five and adam turns on the ac yeah well it gets hot in here there's a lot of lights and equipment
all right look at how red i've already turned maddie literally had to ask us for an extra
hoodie today because she was so cool like i didn't know that that's the second sweater
you're making your employees uncomfortable the thermostat is available to everybody
oh my goodness you know what she should have had a hot plate of bacon and eggs
That's right.
It would have been.
Oh, she did.
What did you?
Every single morning.
This is why.
Okay.
I agree with you on the cereal part.
Yeah, I agree with that.
I never have cereal for breakfast.
No, thank you.
I have eggs, turkey, bacon, avocado, cottage cheese, honey, and sriracha on it without
fail every morning with blueberries or raspberries.
Breakfast is the setup for how my day is going to go.
If I don't get that meal in, I'm not like my bubbly self.
Like I'm tired.
i need those good good calories good protein good fiber it's so important breakfast is one of the
most important things in my opinion important meals of the day and jesse's like what if i had
a glass of water and two cigarette butts and that's enough jesse there are all kinds of
delicious things that you can have for breakfast but breakfast food are among those things that
you can have in the morning
that are delicious.
Irrelevant.
Home fries.
Frigging delicious.

You were coming in hot
with burgers and steak.
Now you're throwing
chicken noodle soup
and halibut at me.
I love a good chicken noodle soup.
I would have listened
if you'd said tomato soup,
but chicken noodle,
you're out.
Come on.
Really?
Tomato bisque?
Do you like it cold?
I love a tomato soup.
Gazpacho?
no no no scotch if you listen if you want to lick grass gazpacho is for you gazpacho is burning hot
gazpacho sucks gazpacho is fucking bad yeah why why is any like can we just say this for a second
who the fuck actually wants a gazpacho like i remember my parents had a party once and they
had a my my one of my parents best friends brought a gazpacho and fucking nobody ate it
you know why that serves them right yes serves them right walking around trying to sell it to
everybody because he was like a very healthy eater and he's like but the gazpacho is delicious
you guys got to try the effort he's like yeah that's great i'll stick to my hot dog fakes
so yeah you said you said uh i'm glad we agree on that fries like i said hash browns what oh
hash browns oh nice piece of salmon oh wow maddie oh turn that mic up yeah what do you want what
was the question i said what are you doing yeah what are you trying to tell where's the semantics
of that yeah i'm trying to tell you guys let me do what you've done to me i'll show what the
fuck is this i'm trying to tell you food is food give me another one uh fucking
goddamn toast dynamite pancakes dynamite man you want a dynamite roll first thing in the morning
delicious no it's food what time is it doesn't matter it's food o'clock my stomach uh waffles
my dog your dog's name is literally i love i love waffles no but actual wall oh um
peanut butter sandwich french toast that's a little closer it's a little closer to yeah
vibes yeah vibes are pretty close there yeah toast and peanut butter right eggs benedict
oh eggs benedict fucking clears i've had a lot of eggs benedict in my life oh no i will tell
you that in oshawa it's hit or miss a lot of a lot of people don't know how to make a good hollandaise
that's true a lot of people don't know what are you talking about a lot of people don't know how
to make a good hollandaise i'll agree with that i'll agree with that yeah holiday sauces are like
lumpy and shit yeah then i'll just have a pint of it and glug it down i've i've actually haven't
had i got i'm thinking about this it's actually been a while since i've had eggs benny because i
got to a point where i was out on taking a chance on somebody making hollandaise sauce because i've
had i've had quite a bit i'm like oh this is shit blah blah this one's good so i don't want to go
to a place and guess and then i don't like my whole meal if it's bad hollandaise right that's
the whole thing on your ex benny garbage meal it's all dependent on the sauce i would rather just
have i don't know let me see chickpeas and sweet potato oh my god and broccoli
i'll just have a piece of chicken i don't know let me see nerd
