would like to start today's show with an lfr comment this is my favorite lfr comment from steve's last night uh you actually did an lfr the night of you haven't done that in a while because you know usually you know you used to do that but you know life gets in the way and your videos are getting longer so you usually takes you the morning now the next day to do it if there's nothing in the way the next day uh or if the moment calls for it i'll do it night of right last night was both six minutes and 25 seconds which is the shortest one i think this season Must be. Yeah.

But probably the most watched. We're up at what? Around 150,000 views? Let me see. So I uploaded it at like 10.30 last night, and I get more accurate stats. Where are we at? Real time. We're at two.

It's 6.30, so it's 20 hours later. 230,000. Wow. That's a lot. That might be your most watched this season. My most watched video ever is the Phil Kessel era wasted one, and it hit 300,000 today. Wow. So this might be the record breaker.

generic underwear, I guess. What is it? I have all the same underwear and it's jockey. I don't have any Leafs branded underwear. I don't think I've had Leafs branded underwear for years. I have one pair of Leafs branded underwear and there is nothing so heinous

I could do to those underwear that the Leafs didn't do to this entire fan base last night. and also William Nylander, who was putting himself through numerous shooting drills this afternoon. There is one Toronto Maple Leaf after everything that happened last night, there is one member who is not injured of the Toronto

Maple Leafs who practiced today because Sheldon Keefe canceled practice. But one man decided to take the Zamboni driver of the Toronto Marlies out on the ice and practice shooting drills on him. William Nylander is that man. Thank you for at least showing a little bit of effort the day after the most embarrassing loss in regular season history of Toronto Maple Leafs.

Is that seriously a thing? There were two players? It was Mikheyev and Nylander? Yeah, that's it. Because they got rid of practice today, and William Nylander went out there on his own. Yeah, the practice was scheduled for 1230. Yes.

And they want that title. Yeah.

No, you don't get it. Yeah, they're like, well, you're forgetting about Nashville. No. No, and you know what? I would even pose to you, find me a more embarrassing loss in NHL history. At least in the regular season, you can't. You can't find a more embarrassing loss. You cannot.

Because you've got to think about the story structure here, right? You've got this team. It's built around offense. It's supposed to have this New Age philosophy. They've got big money. They've got a $30 million line. William Nylander, Austin Matthews, and Mitch Marner a couple games ago, a $30 million line.

I didn't mind what Kyle Clifford did with Peter Morazic because Peter Morazic was way out of his race, And I don't understand why Kyle Clifford even got a penalty for that. We'll get into all that. But the guy that the Leafs employed to not even do their home ice, to do their farm team's home ice, as in driving the Zamboni, who the Leafs employ, had to put on Casimir Kaskiswo's old equipment. Is that what he was?

Yes. And wearing Marley's gear and a Leafs t-shirt underneath his shoulder pads and Carolina Hurricanes jersey. And he had to jump out onto the ice And then here's the great thing The Leafs are down 4-1 at this point You're like, oh, 4-1 jokes, here we go They have three shots in the second period The first two go in

So what happens is if you want Larry King to do your thing, you can just buy airtime.

How do you know this? Media business, right? So you can just buy airtime. So that's what they did. They paid the network, and they paid Larry, and they paid a lot of money to get Larry King and Wendy Sokolov and the same thing together. Anyway, if you know—if you're from Buffalo, you know, Salino and Barnes, it's injury alerts, right? You know their commercials. You know what I respect about the Sokolov commercials, though, is the fact that they're so offbeat and weird and don't make any sense that you remember them.

By the way, if last night's loss didn't hurt you enough, remember that Carolina also has the Leafs' first-round pick this year because they had to get rid of Patrick Marleau. Dubas' best move of the offseason, and I think this is a tweet from J.D. organization has more tools than anybody else in the nhl they've got more research they got more coaches they got more doctors they've got better doctors on the forefront of sports science they're talking about load management they're talking about how do we maximize these players how do we give them every tool possible and you're sitting after the game and you're telling me that willpower is an issue for you in game 61 when you're fighting for a playoff spot you are so fucking lucky the panthers lost last night you are so lucky the panthers lost the atlantic division deserves two spots oh 100 neither the panthers or the leafs seem to want it yeah it's unbelievable Like, forget last year with the Bruins-Leafs debacle.

Has there ever been a better argument for 1-8? I don't think whoever gets the third slot in the Atlantic is going to have a better record than... The wildcard spot. I think even the 6th place team in the Metro. Yeah, it'll be the 9th and 10th place teams of the conference could outpace the 3rd place Atlantic team. That should not happen. Which doesn't make sense. That should not happen.

I don't care if it's the Leafs. It's a joke. The Leafs should not make the playoffs if they don't deserve to make the playoffs. If they're not in the top eight, they don't deserve to be there. If you're the 11th place team in a conference, why are you in a playoff spot? Yeah, that's so stupid. It's ridiculous. And I hope they get steamrolled if that's the case. Listen, I have done everything I can on this show to be as fair as possible.

They're losers. I've done everything I can. I think we've done a pretty good job of going, yeah, we feel this way emotionally. But, you know, if you look at the numbers, if you look at the trends, if you look at this, and I'm not just going after the advanced stats community here. No. But if you look at all these other things, well, maybe we're just being fans and we're being emotional.

It's also so broad. It is broad. Yeah, exactly. Listen, everybody's going to have a million different opinions. We've defended the moves the Leafs have made. We've defended these players and given them the benefit of the doubt when they haven't shown up. Well, you know, is it Mike Babcock?

Imagine I showed up to work tomorrow and put in the type of effort that the Leafs put in last night. I'd be fired. Be gone. That is, and this is what kills me. And I'm going to put Tavares to the side on that one, because John Tavares turned down $14 million to come play here. I don't know if people remember this.

San Jose, John Wilson. But yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. He turned down $14 million total. Oh, oh. He was offered $13 million a season to play for San Jose over the course of seven years, minus $2 million. That is $14 million.

John Tavares turned that down to come sign and play here. So if you're putting this one on Travarris, listen, I get it. He wasn't great. But at least he gave up something to come here.
