Okay, so hey folks, thanks for joining us.
We just wanted to do a quick channel update today.
You know, things have been going really cool here at the team house.
We got guests lined up all the way into June right now, actually.
So, I mean, we got MacB. Saug guy coming on this Friday.
All sorts of interesting dudes.
Old school Navy SEAL, like Vietnam veteran.
I mean, yeah, just really fascinating people coming.
on. So, you know, we appreciate your support of the channel, and we just wanted to let everyone
know out there that, yeah, the YouTube algorithm kind of sucks lately, not just for us, but for
pretty much everybody it sounds like. I don't know what they changed or why, but it is what it is.
So we are trying to reinvest ourselves into promoting our Patreon a lot more, so that we're
a little bit more independent and, you know, not so dependent on.
the whims of coders at a website. So the Patreon is $5 a month to subscribe, and the big perk for that
is that you get all these episodes ad-free. So you won't see the ads that you see on YouTube,
or if you listen to the podcast, you hear ads that are mid-roll ads on those as well. So the
Patreon guys get the episodes ad-free, and we also do some bonus episodes for Patreon and some
other stuff. And the other thing we wanted to tell people about is the second podcast that we launched
this year. So that's called Eyes On, and it's on the same channel as the team house. But it's hosted by
Andrew Milburn and Jason Lyons. And it's more topical national security news, things that are
happening, you know, that week. So please check it out if you haven't already. And I should also remind
you, if you haven't already, please subscribe to the channel, which that's completely free to do
to subscribe on YouTube. And if you hit the bell icon, you want to hit all notifications
to just make sure that you actually do get notified when our episodes go up. What else do we
got for them, Dave? I mean, just good cheer. Yeah. Comradery, a little zezza. And I'm not
fired. I'm furious. Jazz hands on the rare occasion that
you know, we feel like, you know, that we're moved to it.
Let's let everybody know that I'm not fired either.
Yeah, I had people texting me asking me why you're fired.
Who texted you?
Friends of mine.
That's funny.
Yeah.
I really, I put an asterisk on everything I posted.
Yeah, like, why is D fired?
I don't know, S.D.
I had to get people in here.
I wanted to spark some drama.
No, but it's a real deal.
The YouTube has, I don't want to say,
taking a shit because it's still good and we appreciate everybody who watches and likes and
subscribes but something happened ever since november they changed their the way they do their
ads and their monetization and we've really been getting uh for lack of a better term our dicks
punched in a little bit so that's why we're going to push the patreon if you guys i mean we do
extra bonus shows every month we uh will probably pick that up i know the guys
i'm working these guys to the bone is what i'm doing and we are pumping out three four
cast a week now when it used to be one.
So we are putting out the content for sure, with eyes on too.
So that was the whole point of this video for transparency purposes.
Yeah, and just to give people a heads up of kind of like what's coming up on the team house in the next couple months.
So I mentioned MacB Sog veteran this Friday.
Next week, old school Navy SEAL.
A week after that, Jonah Mendez.
served as a CIA disguise officer.
Week after that, someone who was,
a friend who was actually the sergeant major
of the J-Sox surgical unit.
And then as we go in April,
we got an NSA red teamer coming in.
I think I got a Ukraine Foreign Legion guy lined up.
We got Navy, another seal telling some old school frog stories.
We got a B-1 pilot coming on,
an FBI assistant director.
State Department dude.
We got a pre-recorded interview coming up.
That'll be in May with Sergeant Major Mike Adams, old friend of mine.
Jack Devine will be back in studio.
Nice.
And the author of the unit, Adam Gamal, a fifth group guy coming on.
And then as we roll into June, we got another seal, and Pat O'Donnell's coming in to talk about.
his new history book that he wrote about the Civil War.
I want to see proof of life from me.
From Dimitri?
That you're not just an AI.
I'm here.
It was a ploy, guys.
I want to get you guys in.
Wait, you don't, you,
proof of life you have to have today's newspaper.
Yeah.
Well, it is a lot.
It's a live video.
It should be good.
You can do anything with AI now.
So, yeah, no, I'm not, I'm not leaving.
These guys are, like, literally going to have to get a restraining order
if they ever try to, like, fire me.
never happened.
Yeah, I mean, it's a lot, but hey, it's also good to be self-employed.
You have to work hard, but it's better than the alternative.
Especially all the layoffs the last six months.
Your pal Jack wouldn't be doing so well if I was working in another industry.
Did you see what happened to Deadspin today?
No.
So they got bought out by a European startup, and they just sent the company-wide email that they're laying off everybody.
They just drove it into the ground.
see you. They're just like, yeah, we're going to hire like new stuff, basically. There's a lot of that
going around right now. And speaking of which, Sean Naylor and I have a news outlet called
The High Side. I'd love it if you guys go and check out. It's real, I mean, it's national security
news, but it's all investigative reporting, and it's very much in the team house kind of realm
of special operations and espionage. So I think you guys will get a kick out of it. Go take a look at it.
Yeah, and listen, I mean, for the patrons that are patrons now, suggestions, thoughts on what we could do, what we could do better.
If you guys want to see some extra stuff, we're willing to do it because, like, we don't want to be beholden to YouTube's algorithm or their monetization policies or even the audio side of it, too.
We want to be able to build a base here.
And that's what it's, I mean, Patreon's been like that for, since the inception, right?
Like when you guys started Patreon once you guys started right away.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it's what kept us afloat.
Yeah.
Yeah.
For sure.
Because that would be the perfect scenario is we have a strong base on Patreon.
We can be extra picky to with our sponsors.
We can just pick sponsors we like rather than like me, the truffle pig, just going after, whatever, get us paid.
You know what I mean?
Like, because I'd rather sell people's stuff that we like.
I mean, for the most part, all our sponsors we do like and they send us stuff and it's cool stuff and all that.
and you guys should check them out.
But if you do want to, I would suggest if you want to support the show,
don't even use the sponsor.
Just go to the Patreon.
I'm going to be real.
Because I would love for a place in time where the team house was outside of the YouTube
and like automated ads that they put up, be completely sponsor free because we do do it live.
And sometimes it is a little tricky when the guys are going to about do an ad read and stuff like that.
Because it's an actual live ad.
read, right? So it's like, it's a bit of, it's not as easy as it would be if we did pre-recorded.
And the fact is, I like how we do our shows live. Like, I would never change that. Even though, like,
I'm doing the eyes on now with Andy and Jason pre-recorded, it's kind of not the same. It's just not the
same. You know, I can't have Andy. He's like, oh, man, this angle's not good. Let's restart.
He's done that multiple times. Let me change my shirt. Yeah, the live aspect of it is definitely a whole other
animal in of itself. I love it. Yeah, it's cool. And I mean, it's fun to interact with the viewers.
And, you know, if you have recommendations for people you'd like to see on the show, like a lot of
people have kept hitting me up about Robert Young Pelton, who I'm actually very familiar with
his work. I think I've read all of his books over the years. So because of that, I reached out to
him this week and we're working, we'll work something out probably like June, July, somewhere around
there. We'll see. Yeah, that'd be great. But it's, it's in the works.
We also have a very cool video in the works.
I think I'm very excited for it.
It's going to probably happen in the summer.
I don't want to say much because I'm keeping it.
Even like sponsors, I'm trying to get to sponsor it.
They're like, what's the video about it?
I'm like, I'll tell you a little bit about it
because I don't want you to tell somebody else who you guys sponsor
and they fuck us over and have a video done before us.
Because I have a great, I have a really good feeling that the video will do very well.
You know?
So, and it's higher in production.
it's going to cost more than like what we do normally, right?
Like we don't we just come here, sit down and get stuff going.
This will be on location.
On location, I'll probably, I'm thinking about hiring somebody to actually video it too.
So, yeah, it's definitely going to be more production heavy than our normal videos,
even though our normal videos are A plus production, number one.
Always.
Always.
always last week was funny with Dale I was worried about the sound because Dale's got a really big
really big range he's like very low and then he gets high sometimes so I was freaking out but
people were saying it sounded very good so I was like okay thank God someone said they sounds
fine I'm like I'll take fine yeah so yeah guys like really appreciate your support of the
channel I hope you'll stay with us anything else that I'm I'm overlooking here no don't
get to, like you said, check out Jack's Highside with Sean Naylor.
They're doing, like, really great stuff that the New York Times and the rest of them are too
scared to do.
Seriously, who's going to ever, who would ever write those stories?
No one else.
Right.
Yeah.
And the Patreon.
The Patreon, it's our lifeblood, so we need to, like, push it.
Any and all suggestions, feel free to ask us, to tell us.
We won't take them all, but we'll listen, you know.
eyes on with Andy and Jason.
That's part of this channel too now.
So we're, yeah, we're rocking and rolling.
I'm doing podcasts like four times a week, five times a week.
Yeah, so, you know, we got to pay those guys.
I mean, I told them we'd pay them.
We probably should at some point.
That's probably advisable.
So, yeah, we're the best.
And listen, if you can't join the Patreon, that's all good.
I mean, the best thing you can do is like, subscribe here.
If you're listening to this, rate and review it.
subscribe there, tell your friends, annoy them.
You know what I mean?
Tell them once and then just tell them again to make sure they understood you.
All right, guys.
So we will see all of you on Friday.
Another awesome episode coming up and we'll take it from there.
Yeah, and there will be a new eyes on Wednesday night.
Awesome.
Yeah, so it should be good.
Cool.
All right.
Thanks, everybody.
