Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, Millennials! Welcome back to the toast and happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday, but it also feels like a Friday because we are fucking celebrating, bitch. We are motherfucking celebrating! We're back, bitch! We are celebrating. There's so much to celebrate. I know you guys probably think that we're sad because Swirly Summer is over and we're
Starting point is 00:00:16 no longer together, which those things are true. But what's also true is that we can hold space for two things. And the other thing that's true is that it's Garchi Parchi Fall. Okay, I'm so glad you brought that up because, I'm devastated swirly summer is over like waking up on my own accord this morning like not hearing kids banging downstairs like it was devastating I something's amazing but it was devastating and I don't want to minimize that feeling like I miss you so much I miss your family so much you guys what's also crazy is Claudia and I parted ways on Sunday morning. Cause you know, Claudia wakes up and is out the door.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Like can't let the grass grow under her feet for one second. No. And I have not spoken to you since for a myriad of reasons. Obviously it's just been extremely busy. Then I flew home and then yesterday just unpacking, like we haven't even caught up. So we also just need to catch up like as sisters on the podcast today. I hope you guys don't mind. I hope you guys don't mind.
Starting point is 00:01:04 But what I was saying is like, I, you would think like I would be sad, right? Like I would seriously be crying. You know, all the seasons really do have merits except for like, maybe like the dead of winter, like beginning of the year is really dreadful. But the way I got back to the city and like me and Ben were having such a renaissance with New York city, with the weather, with our apartment, like it's really an exciting time. September, it's September 1st in my mind. I know it's like technically the 3rd. It's September 1st.
Starting point is 00:01:31 I'm so excited for what is to come. I feel this positivity sort of radiating. I'm just, I don't know. It's a fabulous time. And New York is like, is in its best version of itself. It is. Because it's about to be fashion week. So like everyone's coming to town.
Starting point is 00:01:45 It's about to be like popping off. No, it's like a good time to be in New York, you know? Yeah, yeah. Do you have fashion week, big fashion week plans? Well, you know, I'm kind of closing a couple of haute couture shows. I'm actually super, super busy this week. So don't come looking for me.
Starting point is 00:02:00 Oh, okay. Is this week fashion week? I think it starts in like one or two days. And it's not really a week. it's more of like a lifestyle. A lifestyle. You know I prefer Orlando Fashion Week, and that's just a little bit about me. For sure. I actually like the parade down Disney, Orlando Fashion Week. Huge. Fashion forward.
Starting point is 00:02:22 So Swirly Summer came to a quick and abrupt end. It did feel abrupt because we were never going to be ready to say goodbye. We would never have enough of each other. But I love that we're both like focusing on the positives of GPF, gargi pargi fall, because there are so many like fall is objectively our favorite season as a as a swirly society. Jackie, I while I was gone, my freezer broke. So like everything that was gone my freezer broke so like everything that was in my freezer had to be thrown out so I went to the kosher grocer to like stock up on all my meat because you know I love to have meat in my freezer and it's like ground chicken ground beef ground turkey season like we're making chili I brought all the trappings for chili just to have
Starting point is 00:02:57 you know just in case like inspiration strikes I we have football football starts I think like this week or something. We have autumnal energy. We have cultivated vibes. Like it's so, it is out, like we become the best version of ourselves. I feel like this is when people's like seasonal depression starts to begin. Like, no, I was depressed all summer. Like now I can begin.
Starting point is 00:03:21 I feel like we made the most of summer considering like we're not summer creatures. We're not. And you would have never known that because we were so excited for summer. And I feel like in the spring we were even saying like, it's crazy how excited we are for summer considering like we're not summer creatures. We're not. And you would have never known that because we were so excited for summer. And I feel like in the spring, we were even saying like, it's crazy how excited we are for summer considering like we're not about summer. And I just think that's us just being like positive, optimistic swirlies.
Starting point is 00:03:35 That is true. We're POS. We are pieces of shit. But I would be remiss if I didn't at least admit part of my hatred for summer in the past really is as an overweight person, like summer is not for you. First of all, like good luck finding something to wear. Good luck. Like seriously, not soiling yourself in those in said outfit because it's so fucking hot. So the lower in weight I have gotten, the more I've enjoyed
Starting point is 00:04:00 summer. There's definitely a correlation between the two. Speaking of like, did you clock in yet? I clocked in. I clocked in. What are you at? oh oh no no you mean weigh myself weighed yourself I thought you mean did you clock into like your diet I'm like yes I clocked in yesterday morning like we're dialed in I made fresh healthy food I went to a workout class like I am so back no I did not weigh myself that's really crazy no I'm dialed in on my fitness journey as well. How much did you gain in swirly summer? It was what I thought. It was five pounds. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:04:31 God willing, I only gained five pounds. Can you just weigh yourself just so that you know that? Because you should know. Even if you put in two good weeks, you should know, oh, I lost three pounds. That's good to know. I need to have three good days before I weigh myself. I did one good day, and my hair was a little wet was a little wet I blew dried I'm like get on the scale bitch no like seriously it's none of my business how much I weigh at this current moment I need to
Starting point is 00:04:54 work myself up I just needed to know like for my records you know yeah for the record like where I was at what damage I'm capable of doing in two months when I feel like in those two months I wasn't the worst I've ever been because when we go on vacation like for two weeks we are balls to the walls for two weeks because it's only two weeks whatever you can't do that for two months so I wasn't the worst but I was towards the end like no I was really and also those five months those five pounds happened in the second month okay let me ask you a question what do you think is the most amount of weight like a person my height and size like could gain in two months? I mean, if you were eating like if it was a competition, how much could you possibly gain?
Starting point is 00:05:31 No, not a competition. But like, what do you think? Like seven, eight? Because Ben gained 15. And I think if Ben gained 15 and I gained five, like I think you're closer to me. I think you're like a five to six. You seem to think that you ate like way more than. No.
Starting point is 00:05:44 You look back and think like you were worse than I feel like we were I don't feel like we were horrible I don't think we did the same like you were that's what you're saying yeah yeah that's what you're saying I don't know I think net net we did the same here's the thing I don't even want to think or talk about this anymore like it's so upsetting like I was on such a good journey I'm back okay I've had I have a good 24 hours under my belt. I feel good. I feel strong. I went to, oh, I went to a workout class yesterday. And I don't mean to brag because there's really nothing more uninteresting than hearing about somebody's like fitness journey. But I do need to brag a little bit because I went to Barry's bootcamp, which I think
Starting point is 00:06:14 is like universally regarded as the hardest workout class in the city, right? Is it? Yeah. Like even I texted Margo. I was like, by the way, I just last minute booked this class. Do you want to come? She's like, fuck no. I would never.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I was like, what? Not that I've ever done Barry's. So I can't say. But I think that like Live Method, which you were doing this summer's like fuck no I would never I was like what not that I've ever done Barry's so I can't say but I think that like live method which you were doing this summer like is the hardest workout period I said workout class workout that's personal training live method like okay like it's I feel like it's always like oh it's like the scary like it's like I guess I never did it I must have been scared no I'm afraid I texted Margo I was like do you want to come she was like fuck no I would never and then I was like, do you want to come? She was like, fuck no, I would never. And then I was like, shit, I definitely like overestimated my abilities. Yeah, you fitness too close to the sun.
Starting point is 00:06:49 And I did it yesterday. And it was super hard. But I finished it. But you did it. There was a point in my life where I probably would have had to leave midway and throw up. I made it through the whole class. I pretty much did everything that the instructor, I modified a little bit. But like I pretty much did everything he said. I was so proud of but like I pretty much did everything he said I was so proud of myself you know right and then when I left like I had
Starting point is 00:07:09 a full day afterwards you know usually like in the past if I would have done something really laborious I would have had to lay down for the rest of the day like I seriously wouldn't have been okay but I just felt so proud of myself yesterday like major accomplishment and I actually really enjoyed it I think I would return. They played New Romantics. Oh, fun. Things you did, Barry's. No, no. We should keep a list of things we did. Okay, another thing I did, and I can't believe you haven't even said anything yet. Hold on. I mean, you're wearing light wash jeans. I am wearing light wash jeans, but that's, um, that's not what I was referring to. Okay, you are twiddling your fingers. You got a manicure and you got red nails because it's GPF.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Okay. I got red nails because I was sitting next to a toaster at the nail place and she had this color. And I was like, oh, that's interesting. Cause in the summer I do a light pink. And then in the fall I've been known to do like a maroon burgundy. She's been known. I've been known. And I'm like, what time of year is it? It's like still summer. And the girl next to me was like, it's big apple red. And I said, so she had also just like pretty thin fingers. And it makes any color look good. And I was like, oh, it's Big Apple Red. And she was like, do it, do it.
Starting point is 00:08:12 They have the gel version too. And I was like, okay, I think I will do it. Because I think it's like a perfect transition. Let me tell you, you know, the red nail theory went around on TikTok. What was the theory? I asked you to explain the theory to me and you couldn't. Can you now? So Girl Boss Town created it. I actually don't know what the theory is. I just know explain the theory to me and you couldn't. Can you now? So Girl Boss Town created it.
Starting point is 00:08:25 I actually don't know what the theory is. I just know that there's a thing called red nail theory. I mean, I feel like I'm living proof that the red nail theory is real. Look at me. What are you saying about yourself? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:36 I think the red nail theory has something to do with dating. I still can't surmise. Like, do you like it? Love. Okay, cool. But like, this is so not me. I actually feel like Tyra Banks in
Starting point is 00:08:45 life size look at my firecracker red nails yeah I actually feel like your fall color you've probably forgot it's like that granny mauve and that's a beautiful color that's not my fall color last year I changed my fall color I don't do mauve anymore I do burgundy I love Jackie keep up I look forward to a manicure but it's not on the short list of things I need to do I know I know you know what I need to do what something I haven't done since I've moved here that like I have a pile of clothes waiting to be done the dry cleaners the tailor I just can't with the tailor I need like we did so much great shopping this summer and I got at least like one or two things that have to be tailored in order for me to wear them and like I have sought out a good tailor and now I can bring all the other or two things that have to be tailored in order for me to wear them. And like I have sought out a good tailor.
Starting point is 00:09:26 And now I can bring all the other things that were on hold to be tailored. And I'm going to get my things tailored. Well, maybe you shouldn't have moved because I get my things tailored at home. No, I know. They need to open up a Florida location because seriously. Yeah. Once you get a seamstress in your living room, like you can never go to a tailor. I'm like literally having to like find time in the day to drive to the tailors but it's raining today so maybe not today um if anybody
Starting point is 00:09:49 knows like of an at-home tailor in the south florida area like feel free to send it my way as long as like they're good because like i i like these items and i don't want to ruin them now that's definitely like a chore on the list of chores on that list of negatives of moving to the suburbs the tailor. 100%. Like it used even if I didn't even have someone come to my house it used to be down the street from me I would just go to the tailor on my way to work like it was nothing you take it for granted when you're in a big city don't. And like god forbid I just learn how to sew if I could hem my own pants like it would be so over for you bitches like for me my main uh reason for going to a tailor is everything is too long on me we're so short all the pants I buy like really need to be hemmed
Starting point is 00:10:29 if I could just why don't you like learn get it like go to a class like get a sewing machine Kristen you should check it out 1000% like my mother-in-law knows how to sew like actually like a hem I can sew like if I tear something you actually can I can't do that but she knows how to like make a hem and I think like one time we were on vacation she like had my dress for me it was so clutch yeah even when we were at the Borgata you needed your strap fixed and someone from housekeeping came and like crushed it for in a in a good way I'm gonna take a sewing class that is on my list of things to do before the end of the year like I love that we We're unstoppable, Turdy. We are anything you set your mind to.
Starting point is 00:11:08 I mean, red nails. She's got a degree in sewing. Like, watch out. It's gargi-pargi fall, okay? It's gargi-pargi fall, which is just the most gargi-pargi season. We have a great episode. Oh, great. I wasn't ready.
Starting point is 00:11:21 No. Have you listened to Sabrina Carpenter's album? Of course. Of course, because I'm an original fan. You know that. Yeah, yeah. I know you wouldn't expect I'm listening to the new Gen Z music. It's not about me doing that. It's about me listening to my girl. It is so amazing.
Starting point is 00:11:37 It is like one of the best albums I've heard in a really long time. Let me tell you why. The music is pargy, right? I love how every song kind of feels like a different genre. There's a little Kacey Musgraves, a little Ariana Grande, a little Imogen Heap, you know? I'm seeing different influences. The lyrics actually make me cackle. She's actually funny. What's that song that starts, don't smile because it happened, cry because it's over. That is fucking funny. She's being funny. I'm giggling to myself. The bops are bopping. I'm shaking my ass. I'm crying. It is so good. I'm such a swirly for Sabrina I don't know what the carpentators
Starting point is 00:12:09 call themselves like what what's the name I think it should be swirlies for Sabrina I just um this morning was looking she's going to play Madison Square Garden in like one or two weeks I actually think you might be here oh because we have like plans oh you think she'll play skin i don't know but she better play this you gotta keep on twiddling them thumbs yeah i would go to that i'm still in the phase of the album where i can't distinguish one song from another because i'm just like listening on loop while i like clean my room and stuff but i think now that i'm like back in the tesla and i can like drive and see songs that I'm listening to, I'll become more familiar with the body of work.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Early faves fraternity, Juno, sharpest tool. Can't say. I'm abstaining from the question. I don't want to speak too soon. It's too important. Abstinence is key. And you know, Brie Vandekamp's daughter is a president of the abstinence club. I didn't know that.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Have you been watching desperate housewives since we split? Of course, like we're supposed to be, I've watched like 10 episodes. I'm probably way ahead of you now. I've watched two. Oh, what did you finish? Season one? No, because I did. I mean, on Sunday night we got home pretty late from, and like I did something which
Starting point is 00:13:21 I never do, which was like, get right to it. We got home at like nine 30 and I like started opening all my packages on opening my suitcases like usually I would just put it off till the next day but whatever and then I've just been in a whirlwind of unpacking getting the house ready ever since the last night we treated ourselves to two episodes let me say this about I wouldn't spoil anything because there's so much even though I recently rewatched it like there's so much you don't remember there's such good drama but I remember my takeaway from the last season of Desperate Housewives was like I can't believe Tom Scavo like ended up the way that he did because he was such a good dad and good husband and good character and I liked him until a certain point
Starting point is 00:13:55 where he goes off the rails right now I'm watching it with fresh eyes like they could never make me fucking like Tom Scavo from day one yeah Yeah, we just weren't paying attention. He is the worst. No, you weren't paying attention. And like even the littlest things that he does are seriously grounds for divorce. Like, and Lynette puts up with so fucking much. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Oh my God, I hate this man. I'm cracking up. No, all the men are really trash. It's such a good rerun show. I can't remember if we said it. I think we said on the patrons. We also need to just like catch everyone up who's not a patron, but it's just a reminder that you should become one. Claudia and I did a bunch of episodes on Patreon last week where we
Starting point is 00:14:30 recap the news of last week. Did they like a fast five Taylor Blake's birthday, Haley Bieber's baby name. If you're looking for all that old news, we did an episode on patreon.com slash a toast. Yes. So check that out. And that's where we also shared that we've been rewatching Desperate Housewives and it's such an amazing, joyous thing to do with your life. And we recommend you all join us. I cannot recommend enough to re-watch Desperate Housewives.
Starting point is 00:14:52 So I saw my friend Abe yesterday who I haven't seen all summer. And all summer he started watching The Real Housewives because he's like having a renaissance and he's never seen any reality TV. Go off, King. He watched every single franchise
Starting point is 00:15:04 from the beginning and he was like, I don't know what to do with my life now i'm like you have to watch desperate housewives because not enough people know about or talk about like the real housewives to desperate housewives pipeline how really one wouldn't exist with that real housewives would not exist without desperate housewives like it's loosely very loosely like inspiration for the idea it was like oh you guys like this show let's give you the reality version. Same with the OC in Laguna Beach. Right. Not enough people know that. It is seriously the best show.
Starting point is 00:15:29 It has everything. It's gender neutral. Everyone I know of all different genders likes it. Our husbands are loving it. My husband has never seen it in full and he like can't believe it. When Ben watched it in full
Starting point is 00:15:41 for the first time like a couple of years ago, oh my God, he was obsessed. Yeah, so I think that's just like a fun fall activity. Yeah. Until football comes back. And even when football comes back, it's just a nice thing to have on like in the background. Well, right now it's very plot driven, but I feel like once you know the plot, like it's
Starting point is 00:15:56 just a nice comfort show, even though it's like extremely spooky. Yeah. I just got to the part with the Applewhite family when they move in. If you know, you guys, there was a time added to my list. Like it's literally up there with the SVU family when they move in if you know you guys there was a time add it to my list like it's literally up there with the svu episode when marisha carden goes undercover literally i was as a child like did not sleep for months after seeing those couple of episodes with the apple white family who have like that i won't spoil it yeah don't seriously like not okay not okay now i feel caught up like I guess that is all between you and I betwixt us oh I also
Starting point is 00:16:28 wanted to make mention because this weekend was actually incredibly sad and hard because terrible news came out of Israel of six hostages who were being held hostage in Gaza since October 7th who were executed near hours before the IDF was set to rescue them. One of them was the American-Israeli citizen, Hirsch Goldberg-Polin. Another one was Eden Yarushalmi, whose sisters we met this summer and we talked about on the show. And then four other innocent civilians who were taken, stolen from Israel on October 7th.
Starting point is 00:17:00 It's seriously like rocked the Jewish world. It's been devastating. The funerals happened this weekend. Hershey's mother spoke at his funeral yesterday. And if you haven't seen the videos of her speech, you should watch them. Um, it's seriously like she is everything. Like she really represents, like she's a real Jewish mother to her core. And I think that she has spent the last 3 three days since her son was taken hostage, like advocating on social media, speaking. She's like literally wakes up every day and she's met with like world leaders.
Starting point is 00:17:33 She met with the pope. She spoke at the DNC. She's met with Biden and anyone like pleading desperately for her son to come home, to bring home the hostages. And she's not only obviously like going through an unimaginable horror, but she's like really been one of the most vocal advocates and picking herself up every single day, making videos, talking to people, like trying to get the message out there.
Starting point is 00:17:57 So for the story to end in this way, like there was no worse way. No, for the story to end where like he was alive, we didn't even know, they hadn't been like photo or video proof in a really long time of hers so like you know the thing with the hostages is like you don't even know if you're like waiting for them to come back alive and so the fact that he had been alive that he survived 330 days of pure torment and abuse for two days before for him to have been executed it's just it's the worst way this whole saga could have ended.
Starting point is 00:18:26 And you're right. Like, it really shook the Jewish community. Like, these last couple of days, like, seriously, I thought of nothing but. And the fact that her son is American. His name is Hirsch. He's literally an American citizen. He was born in California. He's an American citizen.
Starting point is 00:18:38 And there has been, like, an American. Like, to me, like, I'll never forget the name Hirsch Goldberg, right? Like, that's embedded in me forever. to me, like, I'll never forget the name Hersh Goldberg, right? Like, that's embedded in me forever. And there was major news over the weekend that he actually, you know, had been killed. And I don't know, I feel like, like, we know about it, and everyone I know is, like, talking about it, but it's not, like, a major news story. And it's, like, American. Like, when I think about, remember how, like, and the situations are totally different, but I'm just talking about, like, public perception. Like, I had never heard of Brittany Griner before she had been taken
Starting point is 00:19:04 captive. But, like, when there was an American being held captive in Russia which was totally different scenario it was like the name on everybody's lips Brittany Griner Brittany Griner like we talked about it I don't know anyone who's talking who isn't like Jewish who isn't talking about her or who isn't like a staunch ally but there are so few there are still seven American citizens that are believed to be alive that are being held hostage. There's really like not much that is being done for them. And I'm sure you could say like there's things you don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:31 I don't think there's much more that we don't know. We've seen like this administration put so much pressure on the Israelis when they're doing everything that they can to make a deal to get the hostages. I don't know what more they could do. Like a ceasefire and hostage deal. It's not happening from the other side. And that's where the pressure needs to be. And it's just, it's so upsetting to know that like these are American citizens.
Starting point is 00:19:54 And yeah, they're not getting that attention. CNN said that Hirsch died. Hirsch did not die. Yeah, that's what happens when you're held hostage for 10 months and then somebody puts a gun to your head. That's how you die. They recovered the bodies. The bodies had bullet holes every they were executed they were shot point blank that's not just someone died right no it's fucking disgraceful
Starting point is 00:20:17 I'm so done with everyone like for real um just a really hard couple of days in the Jewish community I think that a lot of us like like, you see yourself in someone like her. Like, we went to school with people like her. She's just, like, so, to us, like, a typical, you know, has dual citizenship. Like, it's not, it's just, it hits very close to home. And he was at a music festival, just celebrating life with his friends. He loved to travel. You can't, like, look at his mother without your heart being like completely broken.
Starting point is 00:20:46 She's really so, so tough and so brave. And she's done such amazing work. And like, seriously, like she'll never get it. But like she deserves a fucking Pulitzer. Like yeah, she time person of the year, but it would never be. But that's literally she is the person of the year. Yeah. And I just like I mean, if you saw the videos, like literally thousands of people
Starting point is 00:21:03 showing up at the funeral and just like lifting their family up. And I just, I hope that in a, I don't even know. It's also worth knowing because people might have not put this together, but their bodies were found in tunnels in Rafah. So I remember a few months ago we were trying to explain like why Israel. All eyes on Rafah. All eyes on Rafah. Why the IDF needed to go into Rafah, how Hamas is operating out of Rafah.
Starting point is 00:21:24 So like hostages are being held there and that's why they went there you know if they just return the hostages like they wouldn't be in Rafa when 40 million people shared that AI generated um post on Instagram hashtag all eyes on Rafa like look what Israel's doing yeah look what is where are the 40 million people now look that's why that's why we were there yeah you want to follow up or no no are your eyes still on Rafa? Like then your heart is broken. Mine are. Right. So.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Really just a terrible end of that saga. And it's still ongoing. There's over 100 people still being held hostage in Israel. Yeah. Some of them are American. Some of them Israeli. Some of them are Russian. Like they're all.
Starting point is 00:21:59 They're people from all different walks of life. Some of them are Muslim. Some of them are Jewish. Some of them are Christian. Like it's so wide ranging and like the lack of care is really devastating yeah it's it's just like it keeps hurting because it's of course the tragedy but then the lack of care and the and the lies and even worse the people who support it like i can't even wrap my brain around that. Just terrible. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:26 So we would be remiss if we did not mention that because that's really what's been on our minds and in our hearts. Yeah. And all the other activity you know is just noise. Distraction. Well we do have a great show and what we always do. We do. We're going to pick back up. We're going to pick back up Gargi Pargi Fall

Starting point is 00:26:56 to receive 20% off site wide and free shipping. This offers for new and existing customers. Thank you, Jacqueline Follet. I cannot wait for the stories. I actually meant to ask before what they were, but I'm gonna be surprised so we have an abundance and maybe like your fave push to tomorrow but these seem to be like top five and actually the fifth story is to choose your own adventure I'm gonna give you two choices let me tell you my fave and I'm hoping it didn't is Ines de Ramon of course and that's the first one because Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon
Starting point is 00:27:22 appeared very affectionate away from cameras before a double date with George and Amal Koulouni in Venice. So Brad and his lady love Ines, who we've talked about them being together for a while now. I think they've been together like over a year, but they've never like done anything so public and razzle dazzle as this. They went to the Venice Film Festival.
Starting point is 00:27:40 They made their red carpet debut. They were caught on a boat. They were out with Amal and George just like living the Venice lifestyle I want to know if you can read my mind we're going to talk about all the people that she looks like well no because a lot of people did say she looks like me and we'll get there but no these photos like for me like are everything and they're giving Megan and and Harry and the umbrella. Yes. To me, like these photos, every now and then a Hollywood starlet, you know, whoever it is, will take a photo so gorgeous and so memorable that like I will always reference it.
Starting point is 00:28:16 For me, it was that blue dress in the rain, Harry and Meghan with the umbrella at some movie premiere. I don't even know where they are. These photos are at that level to me. There's so much to unpack. The ones on the boat. The ones on the boat of Inez and Brad, but then also the ones with George and Amal in it too, because we never get to see Amal. And seriously, like her hair is like, I could do a whole episode on her hair. It was really just, it was gorgeous. These photos,
Starting point is 00:28:40 and because it's so new, right? I haven't really seen high definition photos of these two. If anything, it's been like a blurry iPhone pic. Like these photos, if a picture says a thousand words, then what does it say? Yeah, no, this says true love, together forever. No, obsessed. Yeah, partnership and glamorousness. Now, of course, there's like a significant age difference,
Starting point is 00:29:02 but she is like a woman. She's a woman, right? She's not a girl. She's in her thirties, correct? is like a woman. She's a woman, right? She's not a girl. She's in her 30s, correct? I think maybe even her late 30s. Yeah, I think so, but I'll double check. So like, you know, whenever you're seeing an older Hollywood actor with a new girlfriend, like you have to just double check that,
Starting point is 00:29:16 you know, the age is not, the frontal lobe is frontal lobing. She's 31. Her frontal lobe is beyond fully formed. Claudia, she's my age. How would you feel if your father was marrying someone your age? Wow, this conversation just took a whole new direction because now I'm looking at it so differently. I just want to say as a 31-year-old,
Starting point is 00:29:34 I do feel like my frontal lobe is fully developed. However, I don't see myself in a relationship with a 60-year-old. Yeah, I was going to say, he's 60. It's 29 years. But it's a Brad Pitt 60 you know no and by the way those pictures of him like and we don't see him a lot right we get like updated photos of him like maybe once a year he looks really good he looks really good and you know he has that skincare line you can knock off some years because it's a Brad Pitt 60 it's not like 56 it's not an old man 60 yeah and it's also Brad Pitt so you know it's Brad Pitt yeah I wish I didn't like dive so deep into the age
Starting point is 00:30:11 because I thought she was like 37 I was ready to like not I didn't even think about it the crazy thing is like how old was Tom and Erica Girardi right she was in her 30s and he was in his 60s yeah that's this no it's just so crazy how like 60 looks different on everyone it's true 60 is really a state of mind I completely agree now let's just move past that part of the conversation because I was so because it's not convenient and no it's it doesn't work with my inconvenient truth It's an inconvenient truth. The inconvenient truth. I was so dazzled by these photos. Like, she looked so gorgeous. I'm really obsessed with her.
Starting point is 00:30:50 She's so beautiful, and she's so unique looking. Now, a lot of people, like, said, oh, my God, Claudia, I thought this was you. I saw that a lot. But a lot of people also said that she looked like Maria from Love is Blind. That's what I said. Now, do I look like Maria from Love is Blind? No, I think she's like an amalgamation of people. And also from one angle, I was getting Hannah Burner.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Wow. Yeah, so I think like, you know, all together, but you don't look like Hannah Burner, but it's the part of Inez that doesn't look like you that looks like Maria or looks like Hannah. I understand, I understand. I love that we have like a new celebrity to learn about. She doesn't even have an Instagram.
Starting point is 00:31:24 I tried to find, and then I just saw like a fan page of hers. Well, she's a jewelry designer, right? Yeah. Or maybe she was until she no longer needed to be. And I just feel like she's not a Hollywood agent, right? Like she doesn't have a stylist. I was like looking at her bag. Like she wore a clutch from Judith Lieber.
Starting point is 00:31:40 She probably went to like a really nice store like Bergdorf's, bought that clutch. And who made her dress? It was just like a white dress. It wasn't. She just looks like a regular girl who went to go shopping really nice store like Bergdorf's bought that clutch and who made her dress it was just like a white dress it wasn't she just looks like a regular girl who went to go shopping for her big date with Tad Hamilton you know yeah it's true but she's not because she carries herself in a way that's like I could do this in my sleep and I just love this like I really I thought the photos Venice is also not a Hollywood event that I particularly care about but this year like Venice is venacing a Hollywood event that I particularly care about but this year like Venice is venacing right I saw so many stories like if you're on one of those
Starting point is 00:32:10 boats like I'm paying attention yeah like Olivia Rodrigo was making waves because her and her man were um he's there he's an actor and he has like a big film premiering so she's there as like his plus one and Taylor Davis did this a few months ago. Yeah, but the Venice Film Festival is happening right now. So everyone's in town. The VFF. Lady Gaga's there. I believe probably Joker is premiering. And we got a first look at her engagement ring.
Starting point is 00:32:32 It's enormous. Venice is kind of doing a lot for me. The name on everybody's lips? Yeah. Okay. I like that. It's Venice Girl Summer? It's Venice Girl Summer.
Starting point is 00:32:45 That's cool. I read an interesting fact about Venice. Did I share it? I think I did. It's Venice Girl Summer. It's Venice Girl Summer. That's cool. I read an interesting fact about Venice. Did I share it? I think I did. Oh, well, everybody knows that. But like back in the 1950s, they did like this whole effort to clean the canals. Because, you know, it's all about they drain the canals. They like scrub them clean.
Starting point is 00:33:01 It was like a huge citywide effort. It was very exciting. I think I was reading it in relation to the send for the Paris Olympics. Yeah. Um, so like go Venice. Cause things they did that things they did clean the canals. Got it. I didn't know if there was like a wind up to that story, but it's good to know, like it can be done. New York city, perhaps the subways. It can be done. Yes. Cause I was thinking like when I was coming back to the city, I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:33:23 I haven't missed is like the New York City filth, the mice, the rats. And I know it's not feasible, but, like, could there just be one day where, like, everybody has to stay inside? Like, for 24 hours, you cannot leave your house. And New York City just, like, releases, like, they fumigate. I don't know what you could do. Like, just release the most toxic poison into the subways, into the streets, like get all the rats killed, clean up the carcasses. And we all come back 24 hours later to a rat free city.
Starting point is 00:33:51 Now I know like feasibly, like you can't, right? Like even, even in COVID. Yeah, I was going to say like, and they did it for a long time, not even one day. But even like the, what do they call those? What was the word? Essential workers. Thank you. Like they had to go, you know, what if it meant a medical emergency?
Starting point is 00:34:09 Like I get it but I don't feel like there's a concerted enough of an effort to eliminate the rat problem in New York like I know they talked about giving rats birth control like there have been ideas there's a rat czar it's a job where like literally you get hired like you're a government employee and your job is to like work on the rats figure it out yeah and i mean they they didn't do that no things they didn't do like they need to fix it control though that's a that's a good one the birth control like at least try what about do something what if they release cats to eat the rats what about cats would you be happier to? Yeah, that's actually what they did in Israel. Like when they. Cats are a bigger creature that you don't want to see, you know?
Starting point is 00:34:52 Yeah, but they're not like disease carrying. But when they start like in there, it won't be domesticated. They'll just be roaming the streets like they'll get they'll get the disease. And then they're just these bigger vessels of disease. I don't like that. If you ever went to Israel and you're like just walking around, you see cats everywhere. It's because at one point there was like a mouse problem and they hired someone to fix it. Yeah. And that person released a bunch of cats. The cats ate the mice and now they have a cat problem which I think people would prefer. But what do rats fear?
Starting point is 00:35:16 You know. Fear itself. You know. Fear itself. Like everyone has prey. Right. What's above the food chain for rats? Let them loose. Right. Right. What's above the food chain for rats? Let them loose. Let them loose. Like I would seriously rather live in a city filled with tigers. Like I would. I really would.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Well, the Venice Film Festival is off. It's popping off. Oh, meanwhile, Angelina, she was there too because she has a new movie. She's playing Maria Callas in a new movie. And she got one of those Venice Film Festival 10-minute standing ovations. No, the other thing they do there is stand and clap. Okay, well, let's talk about standing and clapping. Because I don't know how many Venice Film Festival movies I've seen.
Starting point is 00:35:59 But I do know that I recently saw The Whale. We saw The Whale, you guys. We didn't even tell you. We saw The Whale. We watched it as a family. Brendan Fraser got a 14 minute standing ovation from that one. Now that's not to say Brendan Fraser like didn't do a good job. I actually think like from an acting perspective like yeah he. I think he did what he could with the role. I just have a question for Darren Aronofsky or whoever it is. Like literally why that wasn't based on a true story. I don't know if it was a story that needed to be told.
Starting point is 00:36:31 We were not okay. No, I wasn't fucking okay. And I had put off watching it because so many people were like, it will wreck you. Like it's, you know, a movie is really sad.
Starting point is 00:36:39 Like I don't want to watch a sad movie. I'm a happy person. Like I, I, some people say I'm a light, you know, that's what people say. Myself included. I didn't have have that I didn't cry once I was seriously like I was horrified
Starting point is 00:36:52 I was also confused like this isn't based on a true story why did he need to make this movie over the course of 10 years like why is this a story Darren needed to tell I need to watch an interview with Darren because I didn't understand no it was a lot and we saw the things we saw the whale like I have literally I have no comment on that movie like actually no comment yeah I have nothing to say and that's that's like rare for me I always always leave like fired up. She's truly speechless. For better or for worse. I have no words. None. And that's that.
Starting point is 00:37:32 But Angelina Jolie, Maria Callas. So yeah, she got a standing ovation. Like all's to say that doesn't mean it's necessarily a good movie because they stand and clap for everything there. However, like it's got the makings and she sings in it. Yeah, I don't know. But they like narrowly avoided each other this is like an extremely contentious divorce and what's so interesting and it's
Starting point is 00:37:50 ongoing it's not over right it appears as though like Hollywood really loves Brad Pitt and they've all taken this side she's very much like a maverick right like she is does her own thing and I was like reading the comments because I wanted I saw that picture on Dumois of the first time I saw Inez and Brad like I was so I was really dazzled I was enchanted and I wanted to see what people were saying and like the the people do not like Brad Pitt like they were hating on him in the comments um that's so interesting I don't know where to land on it because on the one hand like everyone that they work with and that they know in Hollywood has taken his side makes you think like he's the good guy but like they're also Hollywood bunch of perverts like I don't know that I trust their
Starting point is 00:38:31 judgment either and so then the people are going against the you know the commenters are not with but I really I rarely feel like there'd be like a comment section that's like full of I was gonna say people bashing a woman but no there would be I don't know well mostly what they were um referencing the airplane choking of Maddox right like was that the airplane incident I don't know there was the airplane incident and then there's also a choking reference um I don't know enough about the divorce to like take aside all I saw was a beautiful photo and like for once in my life like I'm just not gonna look that deep like I just I just want to enjoy something without knowing you know I'm staying out of it that's my new I'm staying the fuck out
Starting point is 00:39:12 of it I have no comment on the whale and I'm staying out of this divorce that has legit nothing to do with me no and it's like why do we always have to be like so like ethical you know no can I just enjoy a beautiful photo like why do I always have to be partisan like why can't I just say like this does not include me I have nothing to do with this why can't I just say this like I hope they work it out yeah like let bygones be bygones for me yeah I don't know these people I don't need these people i don't know what happened i can't say no and it's like i have a lot going on in my life too right it's just exhausting so yeah idk is the official verdict so tbd are you ready for our next story
Starting point is 00:40:01 yeah some more contentious marriage drama Nikki Garcia formerly known as Nikki Bella uh-huh have you not seen this no is asking for privacy after Artem's arrest on suspicion of domestic violence you're fucking I can't believe you haven't seen this on Thursday Artem was arrested on chart to be honest I feel like if I saw it I wouldn't know who Nikki Garcia is like I know they needed to change their names legally because they don't own Bella that was like a WWE like they're the Bella twins yeah I guess if you saw it but you need a visual aid to know that it was Nikki Bella no if I saw Nikki Garcia I'd be like oh that's like from a reality show I don't watch like I didn't know who that was well he was arrested on charges of corporal injury to spouse presumably Nikki Garcia formerly
Starting point is 00:40:42 Bella although this has not been confirmed in a statement to people on Friday her rep asked that the former WWE stars privacy be respected she said this is a private matter and Nikki asked for privacy for her and her family at this time he was arrested and booked in Napa Valley on the morning of August 29th just two days after the pair celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary he was later released on $25,000 bail so she has asked for privacy she did like some hot dog eating contest event she's not speaking on the matter then also he had made a 911 call a week before this accusing her of throwing shoes at him so there has been like domestic issues in their relationship probably for a while but this week especially well I don't know like this is devastating for anyone but also like we've been on this journey with her right like after
Starting point is 00:41:31 John and we really thought that like John was the great love of her life but then she ended up in this like amazing situation where she got married must be like so amazing if you're shirking John who seemed to like finally come around at the end at the it was actually too little too late little too late. But, you know, she always wanted a baby when we were watching the show. Like, and that was a really big point of contention between her and John. Like, she gave up the love of her life for the potential of having children. And then she got pregnant. And it was like really a fairy tale ending. And I think a story a lot of people, a lot of women could have related to.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Like this deep desire to have kids. And like your clock running out. And she was always talking about it really openly. And I think we all thought like this was, you you know we didn't need to check in on them like it was all good yeah no this was seriously upsetting the shoe throwing incident is also confusing because he had called requesting medical attention and then you know said no medical attention needed so it's he sounds manipulative as fucking hell yeah yeah it sounds like a bad situation but she's asking just for privacy I don't even know if she'll
Starting point is 00:42:25 if they're still together like it's very okay like I want to say we're in the middle of it and so that's just like a crazy situation and I agree with you like not expected though it never is okay I stand with Nikki I like now that I'm thinking about it, like, you know what Artem gives? No, I'm actually not going to say it. But I could see him being, like, because everyone loves him, right? Like, oh, my God, Artem, Dancing with the Stars. I could tell me it's those fucking guys. Like, I could see him being, like, really mean.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Like, I actually now, like, now, I never thought about it. But now I can see it. And you know what? People come into your life for a reason or a season. Like, she had children, which is, like, her I never thought about it, but now I can see it. And you know what? People come into your life for a reason or a season. Like she had children, which is like her biggest. She has one child with him. But that was her biggest dream, right? To be a mom.
Starting point is 00:43:13 I feel like her and John should get back together now. And like seriously, she needs John. Yeah. I think so too. I loved them. Like seriously. I loved. I understood and I supported why she left.
Starting point is 00:43:23 And there were actually times like on the show, like he was kind mean like yeah no and I would never mean but cold I would never like stand in the way of her happy ending and I was never like against her and Artem but like I stayed there you know yeah they kind of left me there by the way John stayed there too like John never got in a relationship what are you talking about he's in a serious relationship with a normie who looks like Nikki because he stayed there yeah oh're kidding. Yeah. Oh so he's just waiting. We always talk about her you know. Oh I forgot that part. Yeah I think they're still together which isn't good for you know the John and Nikki stands. Doesn't bode well. Wait I think he got married. Yeah. Fuck. He got married and that was also like didn't he say he would never get married and then he did. You know the marriage thing like I actually think
Starting point is 00:44:03 him and Nikki at one point talked about marriage. I don't think marriage was a thing for him. I just knew he did not want to be a father. Yeah. He is married. Fuck. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:15 Listen, people get divorced. Yeah. Well, I feel like this is an ongoing situation. And there will be updates in one way or another. Whatever it is. It's really crazy that John Cena is like one of the most famous people on the planet and like nobody knows who his wife is. That's kind of like sick. I know.
Starting point is 00:44:33 I know Shay. Yeah, but you're like a loser. Like I mean normal people. You know what I mean. It's also very similar to Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Yeah. He is married. They're movie stars.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Their wives don't like need to be on their Instagram 24 7 no and their wives aren't fellow celebrities now I happen to know Dwayne the Rock Johnson's wife but I know her as his wife because you're a loser yeah yeah exactly like this is what I do for a living yeah yeah yeah do you know what I mean I mean like if you go up to Joe Schmo and you do like Billy on the street and you say is John Cena married the person would be like I don't fucking know. Yeah. Totally. But they say that thing, right? What does he do? It's like we know John Cena's wife,
Starting point is 00:45:09 but we don't know what he's famous for. I don't know. The Invisible Man or something. You can't see me. The Invisible Man. You can't see me. That's his thing. I think he's the Invisible Man.
Starting point is 00:45:20 No, I don't think that's like a title of his. Let's check. Well, all set to say back to Nikki Bella, like I feel really sad and I'm sending her so much love and joy and seriously, fuck him. I think. I don't know enough, but I think. Yeah, I think so too. Okay, yeah, he's definitely, they don't call him the invisible man.
Starting point is 00:45:38 That's just me. No, he does. You can't see me. So that's why you think he's invisible. I think that's like a fair jump okay a fair leap are you ready for our next story another yeah another man in a former relationship Jax Taylor has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD after seeking mental health treatment also last week Brittany filed for divorce by the way I feel like Stassi Schroeder
Starting point is 00:46:03 told us this when she sat down at that bar for her podcast and gave Jax that test. What's that? The 4140? Yeah. Like she literally diagnosed him on air. So like we knew this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:16 So this is so he who has spent most of August in a mental health facility took to Instagram on Monday to reveal the diagnosis. He said a little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself. After many years of knowing something was wrong, but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD. He admitted it's been an emotional time and a lot to process. However, he has come to his son with a newfound sense of peace.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Well, that's good, you know. That he's getting help, serious help, if that's what he needs. Yeah. I do feel like, you know, anyone is capable of changing, right? But for me, like if there's anyone who's not, it's Jax. Yeah. I just have a hard time and he's just he's actually also people don't realize like pretty old not like old but you
Starting point is 00:47:10 know set in his ways he's 45 40s right you know I feel like at that point like you are who you are yeah I tend to agree I don't know enough about this you know what he's been doing for the last month I'm sure we'll see it on the valley and maybe then I'll have um more of an opinion about it but TBD again you know no comment I can't say yeah I didn't live with them so I don't really know went on behind closed doors but love to see Brittany out here like obviously feeling joyful you know she's doing ads she's doing ads for vibrator companies oh I saw she's getting her bag like you know like once you file and like you're actually officially separated like whatever money you make after like is no longer marital right yeah so she's out so
Starting point is 00:47:55 it's ad season so it's yeah all the brands maybe you thought you wouldn't work with you're back yeah and they started filming valley season two so of course like they've got a season now um which is you know not not a reason to do anything but it's good for the show and and they're show people and they get that you know they're showmen yeah they are literally like jack taylor is pt is the pt barnum of his generation a showman yeah so tbd on that ruin he will ruin his own life for the show he's literally pt barnum yeah so who was britney because she's not no but she also like plays the game like you know yeah but maybe not for the sake of her own personal life so yeah maybe she's michelle williams yeah i think she'd rather like live in peace you know but she'll like she dabbles
Starting point is 00:48:43 but would rather have peace. And who is like the bearded lady in this? Like, could I say even? Tom Sandoval. Oh, OK. I like that. Yeah. Not that I even had a name. I just I didn't want to go there. I also don't watch the Valley. So which show are we referring to? I'm referring to like Vanderpump Universe.
Starting point is 00:49:04 Yeah. Vanderpump Universe. That that's fair and I guess like Lisa is Philip Carlyle right because she like went into business yeah it's not totally apples to apples it's not but it's pretty close yeah well life's a show the whole world's a stage yeah and this is the greatest show this is the greatest show that movie i know it got like all the credit most of the credit that it deserved and most of it came from us but we had a renaissance with it like last week we were listening to the soundtrack it's like so fucking fantastic i can't believe that like that they like i feel like so many so often like movies are bad like just like the whale's like, what's everyone clapping for?
Starting point is 00:49:45 Like, what did we just see? Like the greatest showman was that. Right. Oh, you like the whale. Have you ever seen the greatest showman? No, I agree. And I know like it broke records. It won awards.
Starting point is 00:49:54 It wasn't enough. It's underrated. It's seriously underrated. And I also feel like for some reason, and it happened to me too, where it's like, okay, we had like three years of like greatest showman listening all the time. And then and then it just went away. Like it should be in the in our everyday lives. What is your favorite song from the soundtrack?
Starting point is 00:50:14 Like the greatest show is obviously so good. But like seriously, from now on, don't sleep on. Don't sleep on a million dreams. I mean, that's my wedding song. And then when we were listening to the soundtrack, like so much of my wedding was Greatest Showman coded. Like our wedding song was a million dreams. Like our first dance. I walked down the aisle to a Hebrew version of Never Enough.
Starting point is 00:50:33 And when we came out to the party as a couple for the first time, we came out to the greatest show. And the way I stand by those choices. I completely agree. It's in the words of Edna from Hairspray, another perfect film. It's timeless to me. Yeah. So, like, watch Greatest Showman if you haven't.
Starting point is 00:50:51 Or if you haven't in a while. I actually have not seen the movie in a while. I've listened to the music all the time, but I do need to have, like, a Saturday night movie night. Yeah. I just, like, I feel like I'm part of the problem where, like, we dropped off on Greatest Showman and, like, let's pick it back up. Well, well you know we didn't actually ever make it a story but
Starting point is 00:51:09 big news in the Greatest Showman universe a couple of weeks ago was they announced it's coming to Broadway yes I think it's perfect for Broadway I will definitely be seeing it I will be saying that you should come to town front row opening night I'll be there you stumble through the days got your hand low your sky's a shade of gray you see it in your face and even you believe for me on the album tightrope was always a skip but I have come around on tightrope what is tightrope do you mean rewrite the stars that's still a skip tightrope is when Michelle Williams is like singing and crying. Oh, on doing laundry. Yeah. It's really beautiful.
Starting point is 00:51:47 Like still not my favorite, but like I enjoy it now. Maybe that's just like growing up is realizing Tightrope wasn't so bad. No, growing up is realizing they never made a better movie. They tried. They'll continue to try. And I would like to see like a lesser version of Greatest Showman because it would still be good, if not amazing, better than The Whale. But yeah, I just feel like we need a quarterly resurgence what was the story jacks taylor
Starting point is 00:52:12 is oh right okay i just i didn't i didn't know if we ever got into the third story i like forgot he's a showman yeah i just i hope that just just to put a button a bow on it like i i hope that he's getting real and true help. Me too. I hope he actually changes because like that is really hard to live with and to co-parent with. So like for Britney's sake,
Starting point is 00:52:32 like I seriously hope like he's actually taking this seriously, not just doing it for a plot line. Yeah, and it's just sad like now that she's filed, like it is too late and this could have been perhaps avoided if measures were taken sooner in earnest.
Starting point is 00:52:45 In earnest. Are you ready for our fourth story? If it's our fourth story that's brought to you by State Farm, perchance. Perchance it is. Everybody lives different needs everybody lives different places Jackie and I mean we're so similar right we have such different needs I'm a renter she's an owner she drives electric I don't even have a car actually that's not true I do have a car now um talk to a safe farm agent today to learn how you can bundle and save with the personal price plan like a good neighbor state farm is their prices are based on rating plans that vary by state coverage options are selected by the customer availability amount of discounts and savings and eligibility do vary by state. Coverage options are selected by the customer. Availability, amount of discounts, and savings and eligibility do vary by state. So make sure to sing it like Jackson Cloud, right? Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. Flat. So flat. Character. It had character. Today's episode is also brought to you by Hero Bread a truly a staple of gargi pargi fall i'm not gonna lie it wasn't a staple of swirly summer and that's why we are where we are i love hero bread hero bread is a brand i had never heard of until they started doing ads on the toast they
Starting point is 00:54:33 sent product and changed my life okay just because it's you know the end of swirly summer that doesn't mean you have to cut out all the carb heavy foods that you love hero bread has reinvented the bread and bun game and and they make summer great. So fluffy, delicious, flavorful, and texture with no net carbs, zero grams of sugar, and fewer calories. Plus, they've got protein and fiber. And now you can try their sweet, melt-in-your-mouth Hawaiian rolls for guilt-free summer sliding. So they make bread.
Starting point is 00:55:00 They make rolls. They make buns for burgers. But they also make, in my opinion, their best product, their tortillas their tortillas like because you know I love I love a wrap you do yes last night I had fajitas like a taco burrito that's a tostada in you it's a tostada in me I love also like a chicken caesar wrap and seriously the hero wraps I bring them to restaurants and I'm like can you make you know if you go to just salad they make their wraps with Hero Bread wraps. But if you like aren't going, I bring my own. I love Hero Bread. I have so many like of their products, mostly the flour, not flour, excuse me, the tortillas in my freezer. So keep your carbs out of the summer without compromising flavor with Hero Bread. Get 10%

Our next story, Adele cries as she announces an incredibly long break from music after her engagement to Rich Paul. So Adele announced on Saturday she will be taking a, quote, incredibly long break from music. She said during the 10th and final show of her Munich residency, quote, I'm not the most comfortable performer.
Starting point is 00:57:38 I know that, but I'm very fucking good at it. And I've really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I've ever done and probably the longest I ever will do she added that she still has 10 dates of her Las Vegas residency to complete in the coming weeks and then she said quote after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break she choked up as she admitted that she needs to rest and take some personal time she said I've spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now. I want to live my new life that I've been building.
Starting point is 00:58:08 No, I love that. I think Adele, like out of most people, has like the healthiest relationship with her work, her career, and also like her level of fame. And when you think about how much her life has changed, like she had a baby, then she got divorced. She went on this huge health journey.
Starting point is 00:58:23 She fell in love again. She went through the residency. Then she did this Munich one, which I had been, I had like an Adele Renaissance this summer because my TikTok was targeting me with footage from this concert. It was the most beautiful venue I'd ever seen. It was like an outdoor venue. It was huge. And the sun sets like right behind her every night. It was really gorgeous. And so I love that. I actually think she has a really good relationship and she feeds us. If you're an Adele fan, like you get fed, right? You get new music every couple of years. She always goes on tour. This one was a residency. I'm glad that she has more shows left.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Like if you haven't seen Adele and like you have the opportunity to, it is, it is a spiritual life-changing experience. Like it was the best thing I'd ever seen in my fucking life. I I flew six hours spent the night in Vegas and flew home the next day and it was worth it yeah maybe I'll take a look at her Vegas dates I think that this is like you said like a very healthy outlook I think she has work-life balance but I think this is also how we can ensure that we're getting like you know whole bodies of work from her because one you do need to live you can't just do album after album when your albums are so like emotionally ingrained and all about like major milestones and and and the age of your life that you're in you can't do like 30 and then 31 and 32 like it just there's not that much more to say so I think this is good for her work and I think even though things will
Starting point is 00:59:39 be quiet on the Adele front I think she can stand you know a couple a couple off years and I think that's a great way to maintain like good mental health but also ultimately like creatively it's very good as well I completely agree you can always tell when an artist is like putting out music because they have to not because they want to and with Adele and obviously it's a privilege because you know not everyone can do this like she can release music whenever she wants she's at that level now um and I think it really ultimately benefits her she right she releases the best music because she does it when she wants I think when people go to her concerts and she talks a lot at her concerts they're really always shocked to find like she's so much more than just a talented singer she's
Starting point is 01:00:18 very funny she's very normal she's very relatable and I think she maintains that like sound of mind energy because she takes this time off and she just like is a mother, is a, I don't know, she's not married. But she's a fiance. She's engaged. And I think that it really is healthy. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 01:00:35 So we shall miss her, but I feel like I didn't listen to her last album enough. And on the days when I'm missing her, I think there's there's music waiting for me me too by the way and she has a huge catalog of music so like there is music to be listened to yes I agree now for our fifth and final story I thought I'd do a choose your own adventure because oh I love there's one story that like I would have talked about but I could see you not being into it so we have Taylor Swift drawing up plans for the Kansas City Chiefs okay or Maren Morris dating a reality star Maren Morris reality star because I
Starting point is 01:01:15 saw this too and it's really this falls into one of my favorite tropes which is legit celebrities dating reality stars so Maren Morris is it's giving tyler cameron and gg hadid it's giving nick vile and january jones it's giving sarah highland and wells and it's also worth noting that it's always the woman who is of fame and it's always the man that's of reality tv fame and i don't know why i need to pause my microphone fell off my thing oh no well i'll give you the deets while you're doing that. Sounds good? Well, I don't know if it makes noise, but yeah, go. Okay, well, Maren Morris is dating Perfect Match star Justin Asada
Starting point is 01:01:50 after Ryan heard divorce. So the singer, Maren Morris, is 34, and she's newly dating Netflix reality star Justin Asada, a source told People on Monday. Confirmation of the coupling comes a few days after he, who competed on Surviving Paradise before starring on Perfect Match Season 2, posted a photo to his Instagram story from an apparent date with Morris, who finalized her divorce from Ryan Hurd in January.
Starting point is 01:02:13 In the picture, she could be seen sitting casually across from him at an upscale restaurant slouched in a booth. And the caption is scary movies plus sushi, scared emoji face at Maren Morris. I mean, I don't know this person. I don't watch this show, but like this is so crazy. Honestly, I love when women like famous women do this because like what's the point of being so famous if you can't just date whoever you want?
Starting point is 01:02:34 If you can't just see someone on TV, be like, I like him, he's cute, let's go out. And I think that's why it's more women than men because women watch reality TV. And I also just think, you know, for men movie stars, like they don't have a, there's girls lining up around the block for them to date. Like they don't have to work, like go look and DM. No, a thousand percent. I like, I can see, like if I was like single and like super famous and I'm watching a show, I'm like, that guy's hot.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Like what's stopping me? Like I can literally have whatever I want, like obsessed. I love when women do this. I don't know this man. So I don't know if like I would have called him up. Like, obsessed. I love when women do this. I don't know this man, so I don't know if, like, I would have called him up. Like, I don't know if he's attractive to me. But I, seriously, I think this is the best thing people do.
Starting point is 01:03:10 And every now and then, Sarah Hyland and Wells, like, it turns into true love. Now, I don't think this is true love for the most part. It's just an attraction thing, right? Initially, but that's always
Starting point is 01:03:18 a good place to start. Every now and then, you end up with a marriage. But I also think when you see someone on reality TV, it's not the full picture of them, but you get a sense of their personality so she might have been attracted to his looks but also everyone on reality tv is attractive plus she might have
Starting point is 01:03:31 like liked how he talked and how his personality was so maybe they've got potential a thousand percent I would seriously I know he'll never because I think like he looks back on that time fondly and I think he actually dates a lot of famous people and doesn't talk about it. But, like, if seriously, Tyler Cameron could do a three-hour podcast with me and I ask him every question I have about that time. Like, more specifically flying for the funeral of her grandmother. Like, when he dated Gigi Hadid, to me, that's one of the most interesting not spoken about things on the planet.
Starting point is 01:04:00 Like, I need more of that. Yeah, and I think he also dated Stassi Baby. Did he? I think they were, like, I think maybe a night out or something they had a little something I mean wouldn't you if you're Stassi baby like wouldn't you no I mean when Gigi did that like that was the most relatable thing everyone was in love with Tyler Cameron he's on TV like being so handsome so respectful p-jump feminist king like who and you you're gonna be a supermodel in the world what if you just called tyler right i get it i think that's what happened here with marin a lot of times i've been wanting to watch this perfect match season two because a couple of my faves are
Starting point is 01:04:34 on it like harry jowsey and jess from jess and i think micah also from love is blind seattle portland remember her oh yeah yeah and now i could also assess Justin Asada if you do let me know what you think about him but seriously like I love when women do this we need more of this we do because it's also good for you and I yes it is good for you and I you you and I oh by the way I'd rather die yeah this is kind of a good idea for a list. You know, celebrities, female celebrities who date reality stars. You think we'll start to forget? We couldn't.
Starting point is 01:05:13 No, I mean, I could see these two like not dating ever again. And I forgot that this is something Maren Morris did, you know. Celebrity reality stars dating. Yes, I agree. I agree with that. So Tyler C and Gigi, igi of course I'll never forget that I would say they're the blueprint but I think it's really Nick Viall and January Jones were first but also that was never confirmed no no it was he converted what he wasn't much it's not like
Starting point is 01:05:37 they were like I don't think they were ever in an exclusive relationship but they went out there was also speculation about Nick Viall and rachel bilson remember yes yes honestly i feel like if i asked nick vile he would tell me i just wanted to i won't i won't tell i really think we asked like maybe even on our show and he said like i that yeah they they engaged in something they engaged okay so and now marin saron wells it's mostly been Bachelor Nation people, so I don't know this Justin from Adam, but hopefully he's treating Maren right.
Starting point is 01:06:10 Yeah. Okay. We've got a list. Oh my God. Has anyone been following the saga of Kelsey Ballerini and her dog? I only know about it from you, but do you want to share? It's really heartbreaking.
Starting point is 01:06:22 If you've been following Kelsey, you know her dog is like her Theo, right? His name is Dibs. That's like the name of her first like really big hit. I'm calling Dibs. And he's so cute and he's like going through it. I think he's gonna be okay, but he has cancer and like she's promoting her album and she seriously was like I don't know what the fuck to do. Like I can't promote it. Like my life is falling apart. I think Chase has really been there for her during this time as like a dog dad. I'm just like really upset for her.
Starting point is 01:06:45 And it's giving, not to make everything about me, it's giving me like seriously PTSD because it's really similar. It's like her like first adult dog that she ever took care of. And it's like a fixture in her brand. Everybody knows Dibs. Everybody knew Theo. Like, and it's cancer. I just.
Starting point is 01:06:59 Damn, that's rough. Yeah. I'm wishing her well. Me too. Me too. Sorry to like, sorry to bring the gargi pargi fall episode like back like I mean that's negative it's a roller coaster the toast is an emotional roller coaster highs and lows but how do you end that sentence I don't know yeah no I was like where is she going and you know what I'm in this era where I'm just I'm not finishing my sentences I love you know what I mean not every sentence
Starting point is 01:07:34 just stopping not every sentence needs to be finished not every relationship do I need to take aside and not every movie do I need to make a comment and not every movie do you need to give a standing ovation that's seriously what the people in I need to make a comment. And not every movie do you need to give a standing ovation. That's seriously what the people in Hollywood need to know because if everyone gets one, it's not special. Yeah. And now I'm starting to like, it's having the adverse effect where it's like, oh, you guys liked it for 15 minutes of standing and clapping.
Starting point is 01:07:54 I probably won't like it. I'm going to hate it. Yeah. Because if you didn't do it for The Greatest Showman and you did do it for The Whale, that tells me what I need to know. But if you didn't do it after the episode of The Toast, like I want to challenge you all who are listening.
Starting point is 01:08:06 Once you finish this episode, stand up, get up. First of all, it's always good to, you know, get your blood going, stand up and clap.
Starting point is 01:08:11 Okay. And then tag us in a video of you clapping after today's episode. Like that's fucking like, that's what should like, this was amazing. Yeah. Or use this audio. Clapping.
Starting point is 01:08:25 I feel like you do so much clapping. Don't you find? Oh my God. Let me tell you. As an auntie. And my aura ring was really getting in my way this summer. With like clapping. Because I feel like the first thing kids like babies do.
Starting point is 01:08:36 Is like they clap. And it's like oh he's clapping. And when we first started to wear this summer. Charlie was clapping. Like that was like his thing. Right? So we clapped a lot. We did.
Starting point is 01:08:43 We clapped a lot this summer. We made a clap.
