Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, Millennials. Welcome back to the Toast and happy Tuesday, a day where I am choosing to wear my arms out on the podcast. Seriously, where is my purple heart? I'm the bravest woman in the country. Bravery. Impersified. Impersified.
Starting point is 00:00:18 I'm honestly, my actions. Personified. My actions today are emblematic of my bravery. And maybe, maybe I found the courage to do that because I've been listening to a song called Brave by Jessie J that Jackie told me about. That I've literally been telling you to listen to for five years. No, it powered me throughout my run the other day
Starting point is 00:00:34 to the point like I was going to start crying. It was so motivating. It's such a good song. I'm sorry. I'm sorry it took me so long to add it to the list. I'm sick of this. I'm sick of it. You're sick of being right?
Starting point is 00:00:42 I don't know if that you would. No, no. I'm sick of you not You're sick of being right? I don't know if that you would. No. No. I'm sick of you not listening to me at first. Just at last. It's so funny actually. Yesterday literally before I went to bed I was thinking like if anybody wanted me to like join a cult. Like if there was anyone who wanted me to do anything. Whether it was like something small or something big like joining a cult. And they would like you know try and convince me to do something. They don't realize like the only way to get me to do something is to tell Jackie about it so if you guys want me to like work with your company or like anything like seriously talk to Jackie but
Starting point is 00:01:12 still it's gonna take me a couple years to convince her email though eventually oh yeah open the email couple years convince 30 couple more years but eventually your goals will be met congratulations congrats grad congratulations congrats grads congrats grads I seriously can't stop looking at myself in the monitor like I actually feel uncomfortable but I honestly I need to just kind of like let go of it you know and also you need to do it to know how it is like should we be doing more should we be doing less yesterday I wore shorts on the show for the first time in forever because these chairs are not shorts friendly but in all of my
Starting point is 00:01:45 shopping last week and I'm gonna be honest like I've been shop I've been a shopaholic shopping till I'm dropping like they're canceling my orders that's how much I'm shopping I own ceremoniously like I just have orders up the wazoo men like you are the reason I left Finland yeah so in all my shopping I bought so many pairs of new shorts like that are just like more fitted and just more my current style, you know, like less like sexy, more trousery. Yeah. And I wanted to wear like I wanted to wear all my new wares. So I wore them yesterday and it was OK. Like everything went OK.
Starting point is 00:02:16 And I feel like that could happen to you today. So you're saying it's going to be OK. Where it could very well be OK. And then going forward, it won't be such a brave thing to do. Well, here's the thing. In our home studio setup, and if you're listening to this as a podcast, let me just paint a picture for you. The camera is like directly in front of me.
Starting point is 00:02:33 I'm very, very like conscious of my arms from the side. Yeah. From a dead on straight angle, like I don't terribly dislike my arms. So I felt like this might be the right setting yeah like this chair that where it hits right under my knee it like juts out my calf and my feet don't even hit the floor I have like it's not leg friendly we need to do better we need new chairs well we need a lot of new things, you know what I need a new of? And the thing is, if I go and sit to put my legs on the floor,
Starting point is 00:03:09 then I'm going to be out of frame a little bit because it's meant for me to be sit back, relaxed, have a chat with my swirly. No, no. Someone's trying to take us down from the inside. And it's us. We're our own worst enemies. Saboteurs. We are a self-saboteur.
Starting point is 00:03:21 We are. But the good news is, is that my back is feeling better. Thank God. I couldn't deal yesterday. Every time I spoke to Jackie on the phone, she's like huddled up in bed with this heating pad that like grips her neck and her back. It was so painful. I'm feeling better, which means that today I will be cooking my sourdough. Today is the day. S day. And by the way, what if like you do it and it like it comes out like it like it rises like it comes out looking like a loaf of bread but it doesn't taste good
Starting point is 00:03:50 i would expect like the odds that this is going to go well to the amount of kneading and what like fermenting and all of this hand work and also i wanted to take a muscle relaxer today if my back wasn't better but i don't know how i would have needed bread wanted to take a muscle relaxer today if my back wasn't better, but I don't know how I would have needed bread with a muscle relaxer, but I also couldn't do it without it. Also say I'm feeling better. So that's not an issue.
Starting point is 00:04:12 The odds that this bread will be cooked well, rise, edible, yeasty, everything are extremely slim. So I will, the only way I could feel is excitement right I can't be disappointed I can't be disappointed because I'm not expecting amazing results on my first try I've never baked bread I've never really baked a cake I've never baked anything other than like slice and bake cookies in my life or like you know like a cake in a box like funfetti I actually me personally have never made that. That doesn't do it for me.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Oh my God, nothing does it more for me. I know, because you're yucky with rainbow sprinkles and vanilla ice cream. Oh my God, how you can say funfetti is yucky? Like, you're sick. I'm gonna make you my funfetti recipe. Funfetti isn't yucky, but like, Claudia just goes for like the classic rainbow sprinkles.
Starting point is 00:05:03 And when you have varieties such as cookies and cream. By the way. Dolce de leche. Speaking of rainbow sprinkles, I just want to let you know, day one of my encampment against 40 carats, and they have not communicated with me. What do you expect from them? Basic humanitarian aid?
Starting point is 00:05:21 An apology. A divestment from their current caterer thing. And the promise of French fries. So basic humanitarian aid. Basic humanitarian aid. BHA. Now, I actually wrote something down, something I really wanted to talk about today. Well, she wrote it down.
Starting point is 00:05:41 So you and I were on FaceTime yesterday, and I was like, all right, I'm going to hang up, and I'm going to watch Baby Reindeer. Right? I told you. Do you remember that? Yeah. You said, what's Baby Reindeer? I'm like, oh my God, Classic Jack's not knowing like the thing.
Starting point is 00:05:51 No, the thing is, I know just Baby Reindeer because I saw like Piers Morgan had on the real Baby Reindeer. That's all I know. Is it about Santa Claus's youngest reindeer? I don't know. No. Okay. So let me tell you that like a week or two ago, like people in my personal life were
Starting point is 00:06:07 like, you have to watch Baby Reindeer. And then I've just been seeing it everywhere in the culture, in zeitgeist. And then this Pierce Morgan interview that really took the internet by storm this week. So I was like, okay, Ben, let's watch this thing. It's like the one thing everyone's talking about right now. And we started it two nights ago. And last night we got to episode, I think, four. And I am so shocked that this is what's gone viral.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Because let me tell you, at no point did anybody say, they said it's like a crazy funny story. It's basically about this like older woman who ends up stalking this young guy and like really she becomes crazy and like whatever she's British and she keeps calling him baby reindeer. That's why it's called baby reindeer. So I knew that that was the premise and I knew like everyone kept making jokes about it and like you know it's like haha okay. I watched an episode last night with probably the most violent rape scene I've ever seen in my lifetime. And it upset me so much. Ben and I could not go to sleep. We were like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:07:15 I had the worst dreams. I had like the worst night's sleep. It was so graphic. And it wasn't just one thing. It was like a series of rapes and I'm like this is the show everyone's loving we're loving this is what you're saying and I was so disturbed and I was so and I know that this like parts of the story are based on true events um but I just can't believe like it's like making like it's like being made into TikTok sounds like all all these things. It's like this cute, kitschy. And I saw probably like a scene that will haunt me. There are a couple of scenes, you know, everybody makes jokes. I say the same five things. There are a couple of scenes in cinematic history
Starting point is 00:07:53 that seriously will haunt me till the day I die. Like I could recreate them in my brain. They're so imprinted. You know, of course, the pig in the prime minister comes to mind. The pig in the prime minister comes to mind. I. Is this show like a documentary or a reenactment of a true story? It's a dramatization.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Dramatization. So it's not like people talking and it's not like CCTV footage. No, no, no, no, no. I can't believe. Like there's actors in it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like a scripted show. Oh, okay, okay. I thought it was a documentary.
Starting point is 00:08:26 I can't believe that this is the show that everyone's talking about. I'm not going to finish it. I was like wanting to like, I wanted to like, you know, be a part of it. Everyone's talking about it. Watch the Pierce Morgan thing with like more context. I'm so uninterested.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Like it was so upsetting. It was so graphic. And like the whole episode, it wasn't just like this one scene. It was like the whole episode. Like it just was dreadful and horrible and disturbing. And I'm just like, I can't believe this is the thing everyone's talking about, like making jokes about. And I think in the scheme of the show, it's like a small part of it. For me, like there will
Starting point is 00:09:06 only ever be before I saw that scene and after I was shocked yeah you should stay over here yeah and I said I'm like Jackie you should watch it too like everyone's talking about it ha ha ha do not watch it I wasn't going to that's the thing about like watching less stuff in general one I'm only watching the things that like I know that I like. And then two, something has to really be like reach a level that I can't ignore it. And it's the type of content that I like. But this like Baby Reindeer, it's giving like Tiger King and that most recent one, American Nightmare Horror Crime Story, that documentary that like freaked people out.
Starting point is 00:09:41 No, by the way, I watched that documentary. Did I talk about that in the toast? I don't think so. Oh my God, it was such a good documentary. I don't even know what it's about. It's a true story and it's a documentary, not a series. So I know when I'm sitting down to watch a true crime documentary,
Starting point is 00:09:53 and it was this woman's firsthand account of seriously being kidnapped for 48 hours and going through the most horrible things you could ever experience in 48 hour time period and then getting released and people thinking she staged it. Like it was the craziest fucking story. Oh. Yeah yeah so like when you watch a true crime documentary like you go into it with that sort of like headspace yeah yeah like this is gonna be heavy no I was going into like
Starting point is 00:10:15 tiktok sounds like baby reindeer yeah yeah yeah so don't fucking watch it like if you want to protect your peace like seriously was Ben was Ben's really sensitive to stuff like that. Like I feel like I have a high bar for like, like I watched that scene you made me watch for that show when you were pregnant, you know? Outlander. Like I have a pretty high bar. It's because I literally grew up watching SVU.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Oh my God, it was so upsetting. Damn, well I'm sorry. I had an opposite experience last night I watched Summer House oh good for you I'm just like a Bravo stan I watched Vanderpump Rules I'm a toxic Bravo fan right now you are you have some toxic takes too no I really don't but right now I'm like eight episodes behind on Summer House so I'm trying to catch up um it's mostly about like Lindsay and Carl's first two fights the first two weekends that they're there. And I don't know why, cause I don't know what's to come this season.
Starting point is 00:11:08 I don't know what happens, but I am just inclined to believe Lindsay right now. And I think I'm the only, at this point in time, because I'm just watching the way that like Carl kind of keeps exaggerating what she's saying. Like he keeps saying, she's accused me of being on drugs. And like she said, no, you do smoke pot. And I asked like if you were on anything because you smoke pot.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Like they're such different. And like she was saying like he gets so angry. He can be so vicious. I'm the only one who ever sees that side of him. And like I don't know why because I don't know either of these people from Adam. But you believe her. Like, I don't know why, because I don't know either of these people from Adam. But you believe her.
Starting point is 00:11:49 But I'm just like feeling like she's the one, the one whose side I'm taking. Now, let's see how the season plays out. I might be eating my words, but like, I don't know. I'm just going with her. No, you're not going to eat your words because the narrative I see on social media is like, and usually it's very anti-Lindsey. Like up until this point, it was like, Carl's a P-job and Lindsay's like this evil monster who got her claws in him. And the rhetoric has really, really changed changed especially I guess in like the last two
Starting point is 00:12:07 three episodes these last two three weeks where people are really starting to see like oh my god maybe Lindsay's like literally not crazy yeah that's what I've seen that's like the vibe that I'm getting so far and I look forward to watching the rest of the season because the first few episodes are really really slow like me and also all they do is fight in an uber where there's no cameras we watch them cameras everywhere cameras in their bathrooms cameras up their butts the one time they have a fight there's no cameras which also makes you feel like maybe someone's picking a fight when there's not cameras because they're hiding this side of their personality like lindsey doesn't hide anything so true by the way so also they should have figured that out logistically like
Starting point is 00:12:42 it wouldn't cost them a lot of money to have two cars. Yeah, two car and drivers or one big Sprinter van for the whole summer that's loaded up with cameras and GoPros so that moments like that aren't missed. No, they went camping in their backyard. They, like, set up tents for, like, a fun evening. Some of them slept out there. Some of them didn't. They had cameras in the tents.
Starting point is 00:13:01 And the tent, Claudia, they were two-person sleeper tents. Like, they literally refused to miss a moment, but you won't get the drive back from the dinner when everyone's drunk and yeah popping off that's stupid so yeah maybe next maybe this summer I can't believe it's like already summer I know summer I watched Vanderpump Rules so I'm all caught up for the reunion tonight which I'm really excited about really excited I thought the ending was so bizarre like the sort of finality of it you would if you would have told me this is a serious finale like I would have believed you with the montage I mean I loved seeing how different everyone looked like seriously obsessed Sheena like literally different person um but I felt like the energy of it was kind of conclusive
Starting point is 00:13:37 I think a chapter is closing I think that big decisions will be have to be made because it can't go on as it's been I thought the ending was really well done it summed up everything that we've been saying as we've been recapping this season like I felt so seen it felt like a direct response to me Lala in her final monologue like she ate and left not a singular crumb I know but what she had said was so brave she came off looking really jealous when she was like I don't know somebody who gets broken up with and becomes God it's giving jealousy that like Ariana was catapulted cheated on because Lala was cheated on two people like and she didn't go on Dancing with the Stars right right so she came off looking jealous and that wasn't a good look
Starting point is 00:14:17 but when she sat down for that final interview and she said like really what I think you and I've been saying this entire time it's like we feel bad for Ariana but at the same time like these two meaning Ariana and Tom like we're never really honest about the relationship when it came to being on the show they sort of like coasted off of other people's drama and never really opened themselves up then this major thing happened they were honest with each other for five minutes one conversation and then they just like Ariana went back to like keeping her shit private. And like they never really were honest. And they were in this toxic relationship.
Starting point is 00:14:49 And they never shared that with us. So it's like I actually so appreciated someone just kind of like saying that. Even though I don't think the Bravo universe like stands with Lala in this. No. But I also think like most things the Bravo universe and like the people who tweet about it are a very vocal angry minority and aren't representative of all of Bravo fans but I do find that Bravo the network usually kind of listens to whatever those crazies have to say like oh we'll bring this person back fire this person whatever it is and it's gonna reach a sticking point because those people are calling for like that Katie and Ariana should stay on the show that they're the best they're the righteous ones and I agree
Starting point is 00:15:28 like they're not in the wrong but for the sake of the show they're not good for the show they're not they're not bringing much I'm also just curious like people's feelings can you sign off in the comments are you like signing or understanding Lala's point of view more or Katie and Ariana yeah I'm curious for like to know like our audience. Audience, because I know how like the vocal Bravo fans feel. They're much more like Katie and Ariana, but that would mean that then Tom Sandoval has to go
Starting point is 00:15:52 because Ariana's not going to film with Tom Sandoval. That was what she was saying. And I don't, as a human being, I relate to that. I don't want to talk to this person. Like I'm not going to redeem this person. I'm done with this person, but this is a show. Yeah, and they've all, you think back like to the very beginning Like I'm not going to redeem this person. I'm done with this person. But this is a show. Yeah. And they've all, you think back like to the very beginning of all the scenes people have
Starting point is 00:16:10 had to film with people they despise. Stassi going on to film many seasons with Jackson Kristen. Like Kristen Doty going on to film many seasons with Ariana and Tom. Like everyone sort of does the uncomfortable thing. It's a part of the job. And Ariana drawing this boundary for her personal mental health that's amazing like we have to talk about this from two different perspectives like the human being perspective and then the entertainment value perspective and seriously like when I say Ariana gave us nothing this season like she
Starting point is 00:16:35 actually gave us nothing yeah so but I think she's probably the happiest she's ever been and as a human being and a woman myself I feel very happy now another thing that happened in this episode like a lot of the Sheena Tom Sandoval stuff like I actually really don't care about what I found to be like the most interesting conversation was the conversation between Joe and Katie Katie was just awful like really really really awful and we learned a little bit more about why Katie was so mad Katie for the first time like didn't just ignore Joe she like actually told her why she hates her and I felt her reasons were so not valid um she was like just kind of expecting this loyalty from Joe who is Tom Schwartz's friend because she's a woman and she's like even and by the way she didn't move in with Tom Schwartz Joe did not move in with Tom Schwartz she like couch surfed for two
Starting point is 00:17:22 weeks but even if she did as Tom Schwartz's friend, like you're fully allowed to do that. Yeah. Like Joe really doesn't owe Katie anything. Agreed. But now it's like do what you want. You're Tom Schwartz's friend. But stay Tom Schwartz's friend and don't try and talk to me right now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Yeah. It was really like Joe makes me sad. Like she makes me uncomfortable. And I don't think she, I think Katie sees her as this like really like evil person with bad intentions and I don't think she's like an ill-intended person like I think she probably like hurts people's feelings through her own actions but never is that her goal she just sort of seems like this deer in headlights to me like I actually feel sad for her and Katie who's like so you know sharp tongue and sharp strong and strong just sort of like annihilating her with her words like it really it's sad like it Katie's never gonna come off good in that situation even
Starting point is 00:18:12 if she and she is she has her her feelings and she feels entitled to them like she's never gonna come off good because it's really just like a David versus Goliath situation yeah but like I understand where Katie again is like you slept with my ex-husband right after we got divorced. Like, I don't want to speak to you. I'm not going to speak to you. I'm not going to like, because we shouldn't be friends. You're his friend, as you said. But like now she's part of the show.
Starting point is 00:18:33 So you got to kind of come around. And if you can't, that's a problem. And that's where we're at, at this finale, like with everyone. But it was like the first time, because Katie was on the verge of tears. It was like the first time where she just finally like acknowledged her feelings instead of just like being angry and dismissive of Tom and her whole marriage like it's sad you got divorced from someone you were with for 10 years like even that collage really put into perspective like
Starting point is 00:18:57 how long ago that was and it was like the first time she felt like a human to me not just like this sort of angry robot where she was like on the verge of tears and you could see her lip was quivering and like it hurt her that Tom like, you know, shacked up with a girl for two weeks and ended up screwing her right after their marriage. Like that's a human response. And I think a lot of people can like relate to that and understand, of course, why she would be upset. But up until this point, she's just kind of been this like, you know, angry, not even to the point, like to the point where she felt like she didn't even care about Tom Schwartz. I'm like, why would you care if you fuck someone? You obviously hate him.
Starting point is 00:19:26 Yeah. Yeah. That hate comes from a place of hurt. Yeah. That's the same for Ariana and Tom. Actually. A lot of people felt like the finality of the final, like two minutes of the episode could point to a lot of people think that like Sheena and maybe Lala will be moving to the Valley,
Starting point is 00:19:43 the show. Okay. Um, and that's why it had this sort of conclusive and that might fix the problem of, and maybe Lala will be moving to the Valley, the show. Okay. And that's why it had this sort of conclusive. And that might fix the problem of, you know, Lala versus. It doesn't fix the problem. Sheena and Lala are the only bridge. Then who does the show follow? That's a good point.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Yeah. Maybe Ariana and Katie could move to the Valley. But they're,'re like not friends. Yeah. Or Tom and Tom. Yeah. I'm happy that the Valley is like popping off and doing so well. And people seem to really be enjoying it because it does like,
Starting point is 00:20:16 it creates a potential future for this universe. I like it. It does. I like it too. And I, I am going to watch it. It's on my plate and I'm getting through my things, Summer House. And we're going to watch Vanderpump Rules reunion tonight.
Starting point is 00:20:27 I'm actually really excited. Me as well. I'll be sitting down with a fresh slice of sourdough for it. Hopefully. Hopefully. I'll be sitting there folding my dough. Folding the cheese. Folding and rolling.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Oh my God. I watched a dreadful video last night on this woman like doing her sourdough because she was like easy way to knead and fold and roll your sour and shape it the least easy thing I've ever seen Claudia you have to go back every 30 minutes and give it a couple folds set it let it proof I feel like I'm on great British Bake Off and come back 30 minutes later like five or six times and just in one quick sentence like explain to me why this is better than going to the Publix bakery and like getting like an actual fresh loaf of bread that they bake fresh daily oh like the ingredients okay the love and it's regenerative so if I get into this and I have
Starting point is 00:21:18 my starter I could always have like make fresh bread and have fresh bread and really the ingredients you know like this is like if I make bread and it's good I could eat bread all the time really better ingredients better sourdough Jackie O Jackie O's sourdough Jackie sourdough yeah that's exciting to think about like I could eat bread and not have a care in the world. Why? Like how many points is you know? A slice of homemade sourdough. I don't know but it's like really good for you. Love that. Yeah so we'll see. We're trying something new. I blame Laura Elizabeth and Ballerina Farm. Well I blame Ballerina Farm for a lot of things that go wrong in my life so I understand. Miss USA, Miss Teen USA have quit after being after being quote bullied by the organization's ceo at the same time also miss usa social media manager resigned so wait what yeah the three of them like stepped down at the same time okay well look can i tell you what happened yeah so miss usa has three months left in her reign you know you only get one year so like you did the nine months I think her resigning alerted everyone because there was
Starting point is 00:27:11 only three months left it's really not a thing that people do is resign it's like you won this competition you worked your whole life to get to here and now you're gonna resign yeah then her statement went viral because hold on I need to find it. Here, I have it. You want it? People thought there was a hidden message because if you took the first letter of every sentence, seriously, it says, I am silenced. You're lying.
Starting point is 00:27:43 And then the last three sentences had the initials like h.i.p or w.i.p which are the initials of the ceo of the company henry something h.i.p henry something yeah wow that's like some serious you know series of unfortunate events type stuff you know that girl no who the daughter I was just referencing this no one ever knows what I'm talking about the bottle like Violet Baudelaire the oldest daughter she was always like deciphering messages and letters yeah and by the way usually I roll my eyes at that kind of stuff but like I am silenced and then his initials like no I'm sorry she was on to something no no she wasn't on something she's saying something for sure and then right after that Miss Teen USA resigned and I didn't even know the social media manager resigned so people are like theorizing
Starting point is 00:28:34 yes and now also today the Miss Teen USA runner-up has declined the crown the same thing happened with Miss USA they couldn't even get the the runner up to take anyone's place. Like something's really weird going on. Interesting. Have I ever told the story about when I auditioned for Miss Teen USA? I don't think. Miss Teen New York. You auditioned or you thought about it?
Starting point is 00:28:59 So I signed up and like you have to do like a phone interview and then like a real interview. And I did the phone interview and I was so dazzling. Like seriously though, like I knew I was killing it while I was doing it. The woman was cackling. And I was telling her, you know, obviously I sing and that would be my, like she was so lit. And then she like emailed me for the next steps and like I was never doing it. So I never answered her emails.
Starting point is 00:29:19 And like seriously, I could tell like by the tone of her email, she was like desperate for me to join. Yeah. So you went out on a high. You know I like kind of nailed the interview and then just walked away. And you would have been Miss Teen New York if you wanted it. The thing is and I think we all know like why I didn't continue is because I was not doing the swimsuit competition.
Starting point is 00:29:37 Yeah. Even though like that one's not televised. No. Okay. So basically what happened actually now that I remember was a friend of mine did it. We all went to go see her. The competition was in Connecticut. Oh no, actually it was in New York.
Starting point is 00:29:53 And when we were in high school and she kind of killed, she came in like top 10 or something. She didn't win. And I don't remember if she wanted me to do it with her or like I was inspired and afterwards I was like, maybe I'll do it next year. She was definitely my inspo. Got got it and do you have any regrets not a single one that's good that's good I think we also thought it would be like a good thing for college that's like we were in that time of our lives where everything we did was like for our college resumes yeah is it a good thing for college yeah like, like, because if you join, like, Miss USA or whatever, like, you are, like, it behooves you.
Starting point is 00:30:28 You have to, like, have a degree, do charity. Like, you have, like, a bunch of things. And those are, like, classic college things. Yeah, or is, like, going to college good for when you do Miss USA? Yeah, yeah, no, but it's, like, you have to, like, do Miss Teen USA to get to college. College to get to Miss USA. Got it. Well, you know who I want to hear from on this matter?
Starting point is 00:30:45 Olivia Culpo. Where is Olivia Culpo? Was she Miss America or Miss USA? Miss USA. And Kenya Moore? Because I know she gets upset if you call her the wrong one.
Starting point is 00:30:54 Oh, I could see her being Miss America because I think that's like the one where it's like... Where is the one like you have to have a degree? Because that was Kenya Moore's. Yeah, but I do think like at the time
Starting point is 00:31:06 of Kenya Moore she was um she's Miss USA okay Miss USA yeah by the way I feel like everybody major like Vanessa Williams I agree is Miss USA but I do feel like the Miss America pageant is like I think it's not a thing anymore by the way yeah because I think it was like the boring one because it was like serious and and no Jackie Vanessa Williams was Miss America okay and I have this conversation once a year I don't wait we don't even know what the wind-up is Gretchen Carlson wasn't she from that movie what movie isn't she about Fox News oh she's from Fox News. Yeah, not the movie. No, but that movie was about her. She was, yeah, a subject. Yeah, she was played by Charlize.
Starting point is 00:31:51 Yeah. She was Miss America. She was Miss America. That's so crazy. Not Miss USA. Because that's the only name I recognize besides Vanessa Williams. What's the difference between Miss?
Starting point is 00:32:07 Yeah, we definitely have this conversation like 35 times a year. 35 times since we've started the show. Oh, here. Yeah. Miss USA has a swimsuit portion. And by the way, Miss America is still going on. There's currently Madison Marsh. She's Miss America 2024.
Starting point is 00:32:22 And don't forget that Mrs. America is Ballerina Farm. I mean, how could I forget? I know you would never let me. And she is our Mrs. America. And Mrs. America is like boring? Like I think what I'm trying to say is Miss America doesn't have a swimsuit competition. So it's Mrs. Modest, essentially. Yeah, it's like more serious.
Starting point is 00:32:47 What year did... Whereas Miss USA is more like razzle dazzle, pageantry. What year did Vanessa Williams win? I'm not seeing her. I don't know. But this seriously breaks my brain every time we have this conversation. I know. And I don't know why we always fall right into it.
Starting point is 00:33:08 Like why we can't just talk about Miss USA. Vanessa Williams was in 1984. And she represented New York. Could have been you. Could have been me. She's such a queen. Gretchen Carlson was 1989. And then none of these names I recognize.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Yeah. Huh. Yeah. Huh. Fascinating stuff. So I don't know when and how we'll find out what's going on at Miss USA. Because I do think like they can't speak for a while. By the time they do speak like. We'll be over it.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Yeah. But it's definitely. But it's giving like toxic workplace. I don't know. I don't think like you work your whole life for something. And then like you quit and everybody else like for toxic workplace. I don't know. I don't think like you work your whole life for something and then like you quit and everybody else like for toxic workplace. It feels like honestly a little bit more because toxic workplace is what somebody sends you a mean email. Like what does that even mean these days? I feel like it's a little bit more severe.
Starting point is 00:33:55 No, but like insiders are saying and that's all we have to go off of because, you know, people can't speak that they've been forced by ironclad contracts to silently smile despite, quote, harmful workplace conditions. That can mean a number of things. You know, that could mean the AC is broken. Or it could mean harassment. So this toxic atmosphere is a serious concern. There is an urgent need for intervention at the leadership level. Could be any, it could run the gamut of things it could it could you're 100%
Starting point is 00:34:26 right so I feel the way the title holders the current management speaks about the title holders is unprofessional and appropriate I disavow workplace toxicity and bullying of any kind what yeah we're gonna need further clarification there's a lot of ways you could speak about someone that's unprofessional and inappropriate. Varying degrees. I bet she was so happy. Like when she put this Morse code in and like people recognize it. Cause there's a chance like people would just read the statement and move on.
Starting point is 00:34:55 It makes me sad to think about like how many things like people have put forward with like hidden meanings, you know, like, like Jackie, it's literally like this thriller book I was reading. She was kept in this cabin for like years oh no that's actually makes me sad to think about I'm talking about like celebrities who put out like things like hoping people will find like the hidden meaning and like then they don't yeah no let me say so
Starting point is 00:35:17 the only thing the guy would bring her is like books from the library so like in one of the books she was like oh my god someone else could read this so she like wrote something in the middle of the book and like hoped you know somebody she was like my name is blank I've been kidnapped for 12 years and he obviously found it before returning the books to the library like message not received oh damn yeah no that's actually sad yeah but it's like how many celebrities wipe their instagrams for a new era and we don't even notice. Normani, what is happening? What is happening?
Starting point is 00:35:48 Like maybe that happened because no one was seeing it. Yeah. Like she needed to get noticed. And how many of Taylor Swift's Easter eggs do you think haven't been found? Like a million because they are like years in the making. Okay. like a million because they are like years in the making okay yeah i don't know yeah are you ready for our next story yeah a little comedy news ellen degeneres sets her final comedy special with netflix she says yes i'm going to talk about it so she's returning to netflix for her final stand-up special six years after her last comedy special called Relatable the special which marks her second for Netflix will arrive
Starting point is 00:36:30 later in 2024 um so she said in a statement to answer the questions everyone is asking me yes I'm going to talk about it yes this is my last special yes Portia really is that pretty in real life okay like okay you know like I feel like she's just always making jokes about her wife that pretty in real life. Okay. Like, okay. You know, like, I feel like she's just always making jokes about her wife being like really beautiful
Starting point is 00:36:50 and it's like, now's not the time. Well, I want to say like, I'm actually like excited for this. Me too. I feel like if there is
Starting point is 00:36:58 a path to clearing your name, this is it. This is the path. Like, like let time pass because seriously, like who cares? And now like, get after it. it yeah the details get blurry yeah no one's gonna like hold your feet to the fire and now let's hear what you have to say and to do it in a funny manner
Starting point is 00:37:17 and Ellen is good at stand-up like that's her bread and butter I actually thought her last special which she got like a lot of flack for because it was like her life is so not real and it was all about like how rich she is like seriously like all the crazy things and people are like this is down to I thought it was funny and I actually think like this if she really goes there like it could be very funny yeah and could do maybe it won't be it will be her last special depending on how it's received well yeah but also if she's actually committing to like she also doesn't need to work so money is like not an option she really can do whatever she wants and if she is committed like even before like she sees how people receive it if she commits to this being her last special and like seriously
Starting point is 00:37:53 like burns everything to the ground and just says fuck it like I kind of love that yeah but then say she does that people love it we want more demand I feel like it wouldn't be her last special then it just depends how things go it depends how things. But I love that like give no fucks mentality. And actually she's got nothing to lose. Literally. It's always fun to hear from someone who's got nothing to lose. I completely agree. And I love it.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Like she's not someone who needs work. She doesn't even have work to lose. She's so rich. Her social life remained completely intact like she's still like a Hollywood elite like queen friends with Meghan Markle and Christiana like she'll be fine yeah so looking forward to that me too actually I hope it comes sooner rather than later because I'm interested now me too my attention span is short. Yeah. And I think I see. You can get tickets and see it live. I'm good. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:46 I'll watch it at home. Okay. Yeah. Are you ready for our next story? Yes. Our queen, Kelly Breanne Clarkson, is admitting to using weight loss drugs after shedding 60 pounds.
Starting point is 00:38:59 So Kelly admitted that she turned to a weight loss drug to transform her body. While chatting with Whoopi Goldberg about Whoopi's use of the type 2 diabetes drug Manjaro to slim down, Kelly admitted that she dabbled with one of her own. Kelly said, I lost a lot of weight as well. Mine is a different one than people assume, but I ended up having to do that too because my blood work got so bad. So after like years and months of like speculation about like what's Kelly doing,
Starting point is 00:39:20 she's kind of like dropped it in the middle of the interview like it's no big deal. Yeah, very casual. It wasn't about her. It was like an interview with someone else. I watched it with Whoopi Goldberg. First of all, Whoopi looked amazing. I didn't even know she was on those drugs. She looked so good.
Starting point is 00:39:31 And of course, Kelly has had like a noticeable, you know, difference. And people are loving to speculate on it. I love that she took obviously whatever time she needed to feel comfortable enough to share it. And I loved what she said. Basically, she like couldn't get over. She's like, when I was big, like I didn't see it. You couldn't tell me shit. Like I did not see it. And then we like filmed this special or whatever. And like a month ago, we all sat down to rewatch it. And she said, I did not recognize myself. I had no memory of
Starting point is 00:40:03 looking like that. And at the time, if you would, like, you couldn't show me that. And it was such a relatable thing. I was like, yes, like I, you, like you, I had no idea. Like, and whoopie was like, yes, yes, yes. It was such a great conversation. And I love that Kelly took her own route to get there. Everyone has their own journey to sharing. It's not incumbent on anyone to share with you. We're not entitled to that information. So I hope she didn't feel pressure to because of the speculation because people are so fucking annoying. Nevertheless, as somebody who obviously
Starting point is 00:40:34 loves these drugs and had the most amazing experience, like our Queen Kelly, I seriously was smiling ear to ear watching it. It was just a great interview and a great conversation. Very honest. Yeah. Especially from two women who I'm sure could tell stories for days about like how their weight has impacted their career.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Things people have said about them, things they've been told about the way they look. So I just loved it. I loved it. Yeah. Also speaking of Kelly yesterday, we were talking about how we need like a Mara vision, American hero vision.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Yeah. And literally people were quick to let us know there was once a show called American Song Contest by Kelly no and that's what Eurovision is Eurovision Song Contest you know they literally tried it no they literally did a Merovision and nobody watched it including us we didn't remember it we don't deserve it by her and Snoop Dogg they and by the way it sounds like everything I love it like 10 out of 10 exactly what we said we couldn't have dreamed a better host and it didn't work out the right time you think it wasn't the right time and honestly like a network doing it it seemed like nbc like funded it like it needs to be the
Starting point is 00:41:32 government like it needs to be an official all the states need to get involved your games no like whoever does the super bowl like for real like it needs to be like that there needs to be like a commission okay maybe not the government not the commission a commission an organization like that there needs to be like a commission okay maybe not the government not the commission a commission an organization like that asc the america i understand what you're saying so that like it needs to be like a third party committee it can't be because then like nbc has vested interests you know yeah i understand they need like nfl yeah exactly we need the equivalent of the nfl to like and every state like seriously needs to like give a million dollars you know what i mean why to like start to start the commission and then of course then the fund will like make money through commercials and stuff and then they'd be
Starting point is 00:42:14 self-sufficient but like everyone who wants to participate has to pay like an entry fee every year of like a million dollars or whatever do the countries in europe have to pay an entry fee for eurovision i don't know because like the the the committee of Eurovision is already off the ground like. Yeah and it's like makes a lot of money. I don't know why though like I trust the integrity of the Eurovision like like company like I don't know why if it was in America like I just feel like it would be corrupt. Do you know what I mean? Like it wouldn't be a fair competition. I toggle back and forth between thinking Eurovision is extremely fair or extremely rigged and And I do think there's like everyday rigging that goes on. I'm sure you saw that video. There was a guy who was on the
Starting point is 00:42:49 jury for some European country and they had given some votes to Israel and he made a video apologizing saying, you know, Eurovision says that we shouldn't vote politically just based on the song, whatever. But like, I could not vote for Israel. I could not vote for Israel I would not vote for Israel and I'm sorry that they got any votes from us free Palestine so like there are too many people and by the way and Palestine's free now yeah yeah it worked good job Hamas is gone whatever so there are too many like on the one hand having a lot of people and like jury members like keeps you know the organizations accountable and like there can't just be like three people pulling the strings. But on the other hand, then you get like people with their biases being biased.
Starting point is 00:43:31 I know. I know. And I hear you. I hear you. I don't know why. I just have like a gut feeling the way like you have a gut feeling about Lindsay Hubbard. Like I have a gut feeling like net net, like in like the integrity of Eurovision remains intact.
Starting point is 00:43:41 I don't know why. I just have a feeling. I know. But then like you think about like how Ukraine won two years, like the year that they're at war. And it's just like, it's giving like, let's give it to Ukraine. Because they're going through a hard time.
Starting point is 00:43:53 Yes, by the way, but is that not rigged? That just feels like, you know, everyone's like kind of like emo, you know? Well, yeah, maybe everyone voted with Ukraine in their hearts. That could have happened. Yeah, right, no, no, not like Eurovision. It wasn like Eurovision coordinated effort but you don't also think like this year Switzerland won and like why he wasn't better than anyone and it just felt like Eurovision has plans to have it in
Starting point is 00:44:16 Switzerland next year and Switzerland has to win that's how it feels about the winner sometimes the two times the two times I've watched okay so the two times that I've watched Netherlands won and his song loving you is a loop like we knew Ben was like this sounds like a one republic song we everyone knew the whole time that they were running like it was just kind of like predetermined almost because the song was so good um and I will say because I don't want to like disrespect but the year that Israel won like I actually thought that song was bad And I will say, because I don't want to, like, disrespect, but the year that Israel won, like, I actually thought that song was bad. Right. Do you know it?
Starting point is 00:44:51 Like, it was different. Like, nobody else. You don't know it? I'm not your toy. Oh, yeah, I do. Not your toy. And, like, she, like, is barking like a chicken in the beginning. Do you know?
Starting point is 00:44:59 I do know that song. And, like, I didn't understand, like, why that won. But I was happy, course that they I think they had you know permits for Tel Aviv Eurovision no I actually could see it being predetermined right like you don't think they have to book that Swiss arena in advance and so maybe like they should do it kind of how the Olympics do it where it is predetermined who's going to host the next Olympics but it has nothing to do with the outcomes. Yeah, but I do think it's a really big incentive and like it's very exciting for countries to be able to host.
Starting point is 00:45:31 The country, the tourism, the money. Yeah. No, I think it adds a fun layer. Yeah. To the competition. I like that, but it just makes you think if it can be trusted 100%. All's that to say, we would have to figure out a system which the American Song Contest Committee could remain,
Starting point is 00:45:49 keep its integrity intact. It's so hard for anyone to keep their integrity intact. Well, maybe if they had us on the committee, like we are all about fairness, like for real. We are. To a fault. To a fault. All's to say, Kelly Breanne sl slays again what's like do i look shocked

Oh, love. Who are we defending today? are we what defending i actually am not defending okay bumble is forced to issue an apology i saw but i don't know what the crime was okay so bumble posted some billboards that said you know full well a vow of celibacy is not the answer like in response so i guess people have been like saying like, oh, dating, like I can't find someone,
Starting point is 00:49:45 I'm being celibate. You know, like that's kind of the zeitgeist. So one says, you know full well, a vow of celibacy is not the answer. Introducing the new bumble. Another says, a vow of celibacy is not the answer. Another says, thou shalt not give up on dating and become a nun.
Starting point is 00:50:02 Introducing the new bumble. Oh, they're getting religious. Yeah, yeah. So people didn't like that. They have issued a groveling apology amid the backlash from these offensive billboards that are mocking celibacy, really. And then in their apology,
Starting point is 00:50:17 they acknowledge all the ways in which they've offended people, ways I actually hadn't even thought of. Okay, read me their apology. To our beloved Bumble community, we made a mistake. Our ads referencing celibacy were an attempt to lean into a community frustrated by modern dating, and instead of bringing joy and humor, we unintentionally did the opposite. Some of the perspectives we heard were, that's actually like a kind of crazy thing to do. Yeah, like here's what people said to us.
Starting point is 00:50:44 Here's everything we did wrong from those who shared that celibacy is the only answer when reproductive rights are continuously restricted oh i didn't even think about the political element from others for whom celibacy is a choice one that we respect of course no you don't oh my god and from the asexual community for whom celibacy can have a particular meaning and importance which should not be diminished we are also aware that for many celibacy may be brought on by harm or trauma oh yeah for years bumble has passionately stood up for women in marginalized communities and their right to fully exercise personal choice we didn't leave it live up to
Starting point is 00:51:20 these values with this campaign and we apologize for the harm it caused. No that's kind of like a fire you know what that's giving? It's giving accountability on all fronts like it is a good statement I didn't even think of all the ways this could have been harmful I was obviously thinking about like what's wrong with being celibate like if you want to save yourself for marriage like that's a nice thing like everyone's choices are their own like and why we have to clown on them just to like sell sell our our app yeah no but it's it's much deeper than that it is giving accountable it's giving like we're very sorry and I believe that they're sorry I believe it was a mistake and I like not that they needed me to forgive them I wasn't like I didn't know about it until I never saw the billboard I'm not on the app so it's not
Starting point is 00:52:01 for me to forgive but like I can feel their sorrow. Yeah, no, it's giving genuine. But then it does beg the question, how many people saw and approved this and thought that that was okay before it went live? Like to get something on a billboard. Especially when like Bumble from the very beginning has kind of been this like progressive woke platform. I think they progressed too hard.
Starting point is 00:52:24 And they left behind like, you know, some non-progress. been this like progressive woke platform where like I think they progressed too hard and they did and they left behind like you know some non-progress and usually you don't get canceled for going so hard like that but that's how like really bad and offensive that was well that's so interesting I feel like Bumble has been making a lot of news recently the first being that they were going to use AI it's going to be like the first platform to use AI to like find your perfect match or something. And people were like, okay, this is a little crazy. What does that mean? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:52:49 And then the second was that they officially dismantled the whole girl has to call boy first thing because that was like how they started. You know, it was like a platform for women, by women, no more harassment. Like women could, had to make the first move. And I just felt like that was letting the harassers win because like I never really, you guys know me,
Starting point is 00:53:07 I'm not that type of woman. Like, I'm actually quite traditional in a lot of senses. So I didn't like that. I don't think it was only about harassment. Like, I think it was also about power. Like the females, you know, changing the gender norms. And also it was a way to distinguish themselves from any other app because without that one feature,
Starting point is 00:53:21 when they started, now there are a million other things. When they started, like, how is this different? Why is this different night different from all other app because without that one feature, when they started, now there are a million other things. When they started, like, how is this different? Why is this different night, different from all other nights? Manish,. It was definitely challenging gender norms in the dating space. And I happen to like those norms only really in the dating space.
Starting point is 00:53:37 Like when it comes to romance, like you guys know, women in the kitchen, men at work, things like that. Like I like that. So, so yeah, it never going to be the platform that I chose but it's immensely popular yeah and they have like bumble bff and and they they do a lot of other stuff now but that's always been their raison d'etre yeah um and I think on this they one lean too hard into it and like left behind and offended a lot of people. And two, tried to capitalize too much on an internet trend in an, like in an, what they call billboards out of home space.
Starting point is 00:54:13 And it's like, okay, the people driving on the highway aren't so people who are so deeply embedded in TikTok. They have no idea what the fuck you're talking about. And you look nasty. It's just like a bad ad. No, but it's like, you could put that ad maybe on tiktok and the people on tiktok would be like oh haha because we all said we're being celibate now ha ha ha yeah ha on a billboard when like there's like just regular degulars driving all day who aren't so
Starting point is 00:54:37 embedded on the internet like it's it's not connecting i agree but you know good job good job on the apology. I liked it. Yeah. And thanks for reminding, like, thanks for teaching me new ways you were offensive. Because I, of course, my first, second, third, not even my millionth thought was the asexual community. No, like, I didn't even cross their mind. No, me neither.
Starting point is 00:54:59 That one, you could have given me a hundred guesses. And yes, I would have, have of course gotten the celibate community I actually probably would have gotten to the point where people are celibate for choices other than you know religious maybe they've been through things like trauma I would have gotten there I never would have gotten asexual yeah I don't think they apologize to the religious celibates no like the lifestyle choice yeah just they say for whom celibacy is the choice, one that we respect. Sure.
Starting point is 00:55:28 Okay, that's, yeah, yeah, yeah. It sounds like it. It sounds like you respect it. I feel like those were the people who Miss Ad was for. Yeah. And the other ones got unintentionally harmed along the way. Yeah, no, like not them dragging the asexuals in. And when like it wasn't, it wasn't about them.
Starting point is 00:55:42 Like leave the asexuals alone. Yeah, yeah. They just want to be left alone really they do are you ready for our fifth and final story yeah which is not asexual okay it's sexual i guess so you'll have to tell me because okay the idea of you the movie oh my god i didn't talk about it i want to hear your recap that's why i chose this has nabbed nearly 50 million viewers in two weeks marking its number one spot as a rom-com debut for Amazon MGM so Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galzatine's age gap romantic adventure the idea of you attracted nearly 50 million worldwide viewers in its first two weeks on prime video
Starting point is 00:56:18 becoming Amazon MGM's number one romantic comedy debut of all time according to the studio okay I'm gonna tell you my thoughts on it but in case you guys don't remember like I on MGM's number one romantic comedy debut of all time, according to the studio. Okay. I'm going to tell you my thoughts on it, but in case you guys don't remember, like I read the book, hated it, and actually took like a moral stance against it being made into a movie. Correct. And then I had a lot of travel,
Starting point is 00:56:37 and people were talking about it, and I needed to watch it. And net net, I adored it. Like it was literally the best movie I'd ever seen. Would I like it? Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There were a few things that changed
Starting point is 00:56:52 that made it okay from a moral perspective, okay? In the movie, Anne Hathaway's daughter, well, no, actually, the age gap is different. He's 24. 24, she's just turned 40 yes in the book he's 20 yucky 20 and 24 is much different and she's like 38 okay so that was the first thing they did to make it less icky now I thought the ickiest part in the book was two things. One, she kept calling him my sweet boy, my sweet boy, my sweet boy. And she's like literally fucking a boy.
Starting point is 00:57:30 So it's weird. She didn't say it. So thank you for that in the movie. But really, the second thing was that she met him, this young boy band member in the book, because her daughter was a huge fan of the band. And they went to a meet and greet. In the movie, they changed it. The daughter does not like the band.
Starting point is 00:57:50 Which is better. Because in the movie, I mean in the book, excuse me, she's in love with the Harry Styles character, the daughter. Anne Hathaway has to like sit down with the daughter in the book and be like, I'm, you know, fucking the guy you like. Like it's weird. It's like her and her daughter have a crush on the same boy. It's weird. Mommy got your man. Exactly. They got rid of that whole element in the movie. The daughter is older. She's like 17. And by the way, the actress they chose, she looked older than Anna Hathaway. I'm
Starting point is 00:58:19 like, no way is this a daughter. So they had a much older daughter in the book. She's like 13, 14. And in the movie she's 16, 17. So it's, it's different. In the book, she's like 13, 14. And in the movie, she's 16, 17. So it's different. And she happens to like hate the band. But her dad got her tickets. And she's like, oh, I'll go. She doesn't like the band. And when she was a kid, she liked the band.
Starting point is 00:58:33 But she really was into a different band member. So they kind of, they made it a lot better from like a gross pedophile perspective. Okay. To the point where I actually didn't get that much ick. I more so was like, Ann, you're 40. Why are you hanging out with these 16-year-olds? Like, yeah. It was more like cringe than it was ick. Okay. To the point where I actually didn't get that much ick. I more so was like, Ann, you're 40. Why are you hanging out with these 16-year-olds? Like, yeah. It was more like cringe than it was ick.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Okay. Was it funny? So then I was able to watch the movie like as a. As a real movie. As a moviegoer. No, it wasn't funny. Why would it be funny? Oh, I'm just asking because I might watch it.
Starting point is 00:59:01 I want to know if I can expect a laugh. It's a romance. It's a rom-com. Where's the com? No, there wasn't com. It's a romance. It's a rom-com. Where's the com? No, there wasn't com. It was a rom. It was straight rom. And it was really good.
Starting point is 00:59:11 I only think the fatal flaw of the film, and the book is very, it's like smutty a little bit. So like it's, there's a lot of like sexiness in the book and they tried to translate that into the movie. And I just think the fatal flaw of the film is that Anne Hathaway is not sexy like and I don't think she plays sexy very well and there
Starting point is 00:59:31 were parts of the movie I had trouble suspending disbelief on because like that sort of like sexiness was not coming through for me got it was it like weird to be watching on an airplane people seeing what you're watching like inappropriate nakedness? Not nakedness because Anne Hathaway doesn't do that but like Anne Hathaway gets fingered. Like which you just know of like like the people behind you watch
Starting point is 00:59:57 like on the airplane. Would they have known that? Yeah. So when you put your hand out someone's pants. Oh okay. So you see that. Yeah. She gets fingered. Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:07 Okay. So it's like. But she's just not naked as well. I'm not saying naked. She's not naked. She's not naked. Sexual scenes. No boobie, no tushy, no penis, no vagina.
Starting point is 01:00:18 Okay. But it was definitely uncomfortable to watch in public. That's the question. Yeah. But I really liked it. I really to watch in public. That's the question. Yeah. But I really liked it. I really, really liked it. Like, he's so cute, Nicholas Galatine. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:31 Okay, well, I will watch it. Add it to the plate. Yeah, like, you'll like it. It's sweet. I like a rom-com. I think it's a lost art. Yeah. I think Emma Roberts does what she can to save the genre.
Starting point is 01:00:44 Sydney Sweeney's pitching in. Yeah. But we need more, and she can to save the genre. Sydney Sweeney's pitching in. But we need more and I want to support the arts. I mean, not that I need to 50 million viewers. That's wild, by the way. I'm glad it's doing good. Because I feel like it's really for everyone. It's something like it could be for older people, younger people. I mean, yeah, that's how it started.
Starting point is 01:00:58 It was like fan fiction by an older woman. Like imagine you take your daughter to a Harry Styles concert, One Direction, and Harry Styles ends up falling in love with you. Like this woman literally wrote her fantasy out. Olivia Wilde. Right. But it was before Olivia Wilde, which was what made the Olivia Wilde thing so weird
Starting point is 01:01:13 and why the book had like a second wind after it came out. Because people were like, this is a book about what would happen. And it actually ended up happening. But also, then you get like the younger generation who are obsessed with One Direction, Harry Styles. Yeah, you're right. It's really for everyone.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Yeah. Cute. Oh, thank you so much for making that a story. I was like, I was shocked at how much I liked it. I was like fighting this inner battle the entire time because I took this like moral high ground. Yeah. And I felt this like superiority. I'm like, no, I don't get involved with pedophilia.
Starting point is 01:01:38 But I got involved and I liked it. It was really a good movie. And honestly, it was because they changed those few minor things it made a big difference that the daughter wasn't a fan maybe like palatable and that you could move on from the age gap and like maybe the ickiness in the book i'm dying when when the mom character is sitting down with her 13 year old daughter her 13 year old daughter is sobbing that her mom stole her crush like it's insane her mom stole her crush oh my god okay yeah yeah that's bad and like in the and her and the daughter is like a she's an only child in the
Starting point is 01:02:12 book and she's obsessed with her mom her mom is her best friend her mom is everything so the betrayal is even greater in the movie she's like older and all she wants to do is hang out with her friends and she's like mom leave me alone you know yeah it's just better okay great yeah great okay great great I've got my homework tonight I've got my sourdough Vanderpump Rules reunion maybe a little the next game Ben is like torturing me trying to get me to go but like I can't you can't VPR reunion you're working I know I'm working yeah you should go with Dana no like I was down to go but like I looked up tickets like they're insane in New York? Yeah, you know me.
Starting point is 01:02:46 I'm like, I need to be in the front row. I can't even see anything. I bet I said, and I'm so short. Like, I need to be on the floor. Like, that's just. And, like, Ben was showing me tickets that were, like, so much money. Like, in row 19. Like, I'm like, no.
Starting point is 01:02:57 Row 19? How am I supposed to see anything? Can he go with one of the boys? He can, but, like, as we always say, like, the annoying. He's, like, obsessed with you. Thing about Ben is, like, he loves to spend time with me. And it's like, it's so nice. Can you blame him, Turdy?
Starting point is 01:03:11 No, I'm in crêpe. And look at these arms. They're looking good to me. Are they? But as established, my angle is not the camera angle. Also, I have to hang up soon because I have a really fire piece of original content coming your way. I've been working on it all morning. You're going to die.
Starting point is 01:03:28 I've made my own sound. Are you making like a TikTok or something? I'm making a reel. I've made my own sound. Oh my God, where is it going to live? It's on reels. And it's like. Whose?
Starting point is 01:03:38 A collab between me and The Toast. Oh, I'm so excited. And it's literally like I'm making it for you. Yes, millions of people will see it. But like I, it's only for you. Mill millions of people will see it, but like I, it's only for you. Millions of people will see it. No, Claudia. Okay, bye.
