Starting point is 00:00:09 It's Jackson, Claude and neighbor show the fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off, swirly. It's the toast. I sound amazing. Welcome back to The Toast and happy Tuesday. I hope everybody had a great night. I did. I watched the Family Stone. So I wouldn't say it was like a great night. We both did our homework. I watched the Emmys. You watched the Family Stone. So we could come here today and discuss both at nauseam. And the streets were really interested to hear.
Starting point is 00:00:43 what I would think about the family stone. And as predicted, did you feel like SJP was the victim? For a minute. But like things change quickly for her. No, no. And actually, like at one point, like the family did take it too far. Like in the kitchen when she like dropped that thing on the floor. Oh no, but by then they were all good because she really redeemed herself with that present,
Starting point is 00:01:03 which like actually brought a tear to my eye. By the time. Also, I haven't seen the movie at a while. What was the present? She got everyone and she's passing out the same gift to everyone. So we're like, what did you get everyone? And they all opened in as like a frame photo of the mom, Sybil, just like looking very beautiful and pregnant and like radiant.
Starting point is 00:01:19 And they were just all moved to tears. I would say by the time the sister came like, SJP's doing better. She's obviously hard to root for. Like what was she doing and saying at the dinner table? The dinner table. My girl, shut up. What was she doing?
Starting point is 00:01:37 And when she was like, she was like, that's not what I mean. And then. her boyfriend was like, why don't you say what you mean then? Like, just find the words to say what you mean because it sounds really bad. Georgia Rule is her boyfriend at the time, right? Dermit Milroney. Dermit Milroney. And then she, spoiler leaves with Owen Wilson, right?
Starting point is 00:01:56 Like the derelict brother. Yes. And then the sister goes with Dermit. So it's great. But unfortunately, like she still has to join this family that she was never right for in the first place. And I guess we'll see how that turns out in the long-awaited sequel. Yeah, I guess there will be like a lot of kids. why was the, not that you would know this because you barely remember the movie,
Starting point is 00:02:13 but why was the husband of the pregnant daughter not there? Who, I don't even know what you're talking about. I haven't seen the movie until long. There's a pregnant daughter, Susanna. She's like, she's pregnant and she also has a kid already. And her husband, like literally only comes on Christmas morning, like walks in and says, Merry Christmas. Like, he wasn't there.
Starting point is 00:02:34 I don't know. Like, why? I don't know. Yeah, if someone could sound off if I miss something, like. Is he in the armed forces? I don't know. I watched the Emmys, one, because it's my job and two, because, like, I did have to support the matriarch of television, Miss Marcia Hargatay.
Starting point is 00:02:49 And, like, I'm sure we'll talk about it in the stories and we'll go through, like, all the winners and stuff. But in her monologue, first of all, she was cracking me up. Like, she did a good job. And I feel like a lot of the times when you're a comedian, you write a lot of the jokes. But she's just, like, an actress and a host. Like, everything was written for her. So I was a little bit afraid that, like, it wouldn't be, like, it wouldn't be, like,
Starting point is 00:03:04 good or personal. It was funny. Like, obviously some of the stick was stupid. but she did what she was supposed to do. She brought Jalen Brunson and Taylor Swift into her pre-recorded sketches. And like, thank you, Queen. And we got like 11 lawn otter jokes. Like, thank you.
Starting point is 00:03:15 That's all we needed from you. And, um, oh, and in her monologue, she was like, I'm the first woman to host the Emmys in 15 years. And like, seriously she shouldn't have said that because that's genuinely embarrassing, like for Hollywood, which claims to be like this extremely inclusive, progressive institution. It's like, wait, we're still doing that. Like, first woman.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Like, what? It was just kind of like awkward when she said it. I guess, but it also like it makes it a huge woman for her. So she should get her flowers. Like she should not get them because they should be embarrassed. Of course, but like every speech, you know, every, you know, classic award show stuff, even though I found that it wasn't like a terribly annoying award show.
Starting point is 00:03:52 No one was being like so patronizing. They just love to say what we do is so important. We're storytellers. It's like, oh, yeah. By the way, that's fine with me. But what firefighters do is so important. Do you know what I mean? Like they just were putting themselves on the same level as firefighters.
Starting point is 00:04:04 And they're not. Where are the fireies? Correct. like this just sense of like real importance. And like Sally Field, she was like, it started in the caves and the fires and it's like, okay, like you're just like doing movies. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:04:19 You're just playing for 10, but okay. I enjoyed it. And the, I think I need to watch Widows Bay. I've never heard of it until last night. And it won every award. And so it was a lovely evening for the small screen. I'm so glad. The last few awards shows I've,
Starting point is 00:04:37 watch. I've, like, deeply regretted. And I think I'm in a place of boycott right now. So I was not going to watch the Emmys. And I'm glad I had homework to do because I maybe would have felt conflicted. But like, no, no. It got really bad towards the end of last award season. So I'm on there. There are various types of award shows, right? Like music, TV. I find the music ones, like, way more tolerable. Because at the end of the day, like, we're getting performances. Yeah, we are. And even if you, like, don't agree with the winners or you find it like, you still get music and that's always fun. There was one performance last night during the in memoriam with Noah Khan so like was it wasn't like um I didn't watch it why sounds good it was only at the end like I'm
Starting point is 00:05:19 sorry it was such a long award show and I thought there was a tribute to Dolly I heard like I saw this morning there was like Reba and oh oh I missed something huge who I'm sorry like I gave two hours of my time I feel that if you can't get the whole show in in the two hours and maybe if you took less commercial breaks, that was insane. It was literally like one award commercial break, one award commercial break. So many commercial breaks. I can't believe people complain about the ads on this show. Like, take your complaints to the Hollywood Farm Press. Like, that was an insane amount of commercials. And at least we do ours with like style and pizzazz and comedy. Like, oh my God, it was dreadful. It's true. Sally Field and Reba led an emotional tribute to Dolly Parton at the Emmys.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Oh, I must have missed that. My bad. But I feel that I saw the lard, the gist of the program. Yeah. So big winner was Widows Bay. Anything else noteworthy? Actually, we're going to talk about some of the noteworthy things from the Emmys that like everyone will care about. But I just want to say Mariska did a great job. We got like her whole family there, Peter Herman. Like anytime we get the Herman, Hargeta take crew out of the house, it's a good day. Do you think this is the, because now I'm remembering our conversation about Marisha hosting the Emmys and like my prediction that she will be like the next Kelly Clarkson. Oh, did you say that? Because I was thinking last night that she's actually giving Kelly. She could be the next household name in this country, America's sweetheart, you know, product line, TV show. She's just like very warm and welcoming.
Starting point is 00:06:47 She's got the Rachel Ray formula. Yes. So do you think that last night was the beginning of like Mariska Incorporated? 1,000 percent. You want to know why she was not divisive at all. She didn't make any political jokes. And I think like we always say about Kelly, the reason why a lot of people can't fill her shoes is because they almost can't help themselves, but like put their personal thoughts and agenda and political. and which I totally understand.
Starting point is 00:07:07 That's why we said pink wouldn't be a good host because she's like a prince because she's very principled on a lot of political issues. I feel that Mariska just wanted to entertain and I think that she would make an amazing Kelly and like I'm ready for the Wayfair for Mariska Hargitay for Wayfair line.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Yeah. Yeah. Okay. She's on her way. I feel like we're going to see more of that. And she gave us like looks too. Like she changed every time she came on stage. She did a hilarious game of throw. She was actually cracking me up. She's funny.
Starting point is 00:07:38 We don't get to see her in that light a lot because she's like a sex crimes, a detective. But she was like joking just about like, she said something funny. She was like, I won my first Emmy in 2000, whatever for Olivia Benson. Everybody clapped. And she's like, and I won a number of them since that day. That number being zero. She was just funny. She had good delivery.
Starting point is 00:07:56 She looked glad. Like seriously A plus choice. I never would have thought like so random. But she is. She doesn't even get enough credit just because she's so like embedded in culture. She's literally the matriarch of daytime television, not even daytime. She's holding it together. Yeah, and she's like, what is, they're going on to their 28th season.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Like, she doesn't get enough credit for being the hardest working women in Hollywood. I think credit starts now. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful journey from Mariska. Yeah, maybe like her, she was raising her kids, so she was happy just to have this, like, consistent gig with Law & Otter. It films in New York. She lives in New York. She doesn't have to, like, miss out on the recitals and stuff. But now, because I saw a picture of her kids, they're like kind of grown, like little preteens.
Starting point is 00:08:30 So maybe now she can start doing things outside of just Olivia Benson, a homeware line, a cooking show. No more recitals. No more recitals. I got the vibe that like maybe this is kind of like a like a debutante quitsyniera like a coming out party for Mariska. Yeah, like the beginning of I think a five point plan. I live and I love live left love Mariska Hartgetay. With like probably like new representation. They have a moon board. Yep. And she definitely like needs the backing of like a VC firm to take her product line, her beauty line and just make it come to life. Maybe. be like food line. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Big Salamau news. We actually have great stories today. Actually, four out of the five stories could have been number one story of the day. So the first four will be in like no particular order, but just know like they're all fighting for the number one spot. We also up to your toasters. Whereas it's usually the opposite. Like none of these stories are a number one story.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Not usually. I've never had this problem of four number ones. Yeah, this is a great problem to have. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But so don't be like, oh, why is like McElmore number four? Like he could be number one on a different day. I don't feel that he would ever be number one. That story is what could have been number.
Starting point is 00:09:43 No, sorry. I was just saying like McElmore in general. The story could be, maybe it will be number one. Let's see where the conversation goes. But that's big news. We also have dear toasters and we also just like have a lot to do. So I won't deal with daily, too much.
Starting point is 00:09:55 But I did want to say, talk about one thing. I went down a rabbit hole yesterday. Like I'm not sure if anyone's following because it's all happening in Europe. Like Celine Dion's big comeback. Oh. So I watched her documentary. If you've seen her documentary, like you know. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:10 She was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2021. And she basically lost all motor function. Her documentary was chilling because she had like a live seizure on the documentary while she was getting a massage. And they kept the whole thing. And it was like very graphic and deeply disturbing. But I think like it was a real window into what it's like to live with that chronic illness.
Starting point is 00:10:28 And over the years, you know, we've heard from her very briefly. She did perform at the Olympics. And that was like a really big deal. I do believe her condition got way worse after that. And then a little while ago, I remember she went on Hoda and was talking about how like, she's in the process of rebuilding now. Like basically how like, you know, you get in a car crash, you have to learn how to walk. Like she had to learn how to do everything.
Starting point is 00:10:47 And that includes singing. She like lost complete control of her vocal cord. So she's literally taught herself how to sing. And over the weekend, she had her first show back. I think it was in France. Brian Kelly was there. So I was like following the whole thing through Brian's Instagram. And now I've seen like a million clips.
Starting point is 00:11:02 It is actually like, it's. the craziest thing to watch. First of all, her voice sounds completely different. Like, you can tell, like, it almost sounds like a different person singing. And first of all, she sounds amazing. She doesn't sound like herself. And I feel that, you know, she sounded like, everything was so much harder for her. Like, she used to belt out these lyrics, like, not even move. Like, it was nothing to her. She's so focused. She's trying so hard. She sounded incredible. It's very emotional. Like, you have to watch these videos. Of course, she's serving looks and she's, like, still being her Celine Dion's self. But she sounds really different. But it's literally amazing to see somebody,
Starting point is 00:11:34 like literally completely rebuilt, just basically teach them. It's like literally if we sat down one day, I was like, I'm going to learn how to sing. Like, couldn't even talk. It's the most insane thing ever. She's such a queen. And I do think now she's going to go, like, do a series of shows, not just this one comeback show.
Starting point is 00:11:48 It's a beautiful thing to watch. I think it's very inspiring to people with chronic illnesses, like especially stiff person syndrome. Yeah. Wow. Okay, I have to see the videos. You do have to see the videos. Like, it's insane.
Starting point is 00:11:59 It's very emotional. I'm curious to hear what she sounds like if it's so different. It's so different. And then I think her big thing was like she really wanted to hit that one note in all by myself. It's like, anime. And that's like her whole, that's like her thing, her whole life. I think that's literally what made her famous back in the day. The video of it, first of all, she slighted it.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Like she hit it hardcore. I saw some other video. She doesn't hit every note. It's not a perfect performance. She's like literally rebuilding. But this particular note, like I think means the world. To her, it was, like I actually started crying when I watched it. It was beautiful, like really beautiful.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Oh, wow. It's kind of one of the great tragedies of our time. Like Celine Dionne is one of the greatest vocalists In the modern era Like maybe in the last 100 years And She got diagnosed with this illness That robbed her of that
Starting point is 00:12:44 And it's kind of a modern tragedy Yeah Her documentary was so sad If you haven't seen it at some prime Yeah Okay I was embedded to the premiere The night I met Kelly Clarkson
Starting point is 00:12:55 I remember I just wanted to share Like that really annoying fun fact That's a good fun fact Yeah You're free to share that at your will. Do you feel like sometimes you forget famous people that you've met?
Starting point is 00:13:09 Maybe, but I think I forget like fun facts. You know, when people will be like, what's like the craziest thing that's ever happened? Or like, you know, we just had this conversation about close on Sunday. Yeah, right. Who do you think is the most famous person you've ever met? I can't even rack my brain. And what do you mean met? Like, like either taking a photo with or chatted with, like,
Starting point is 00:13:34 not just been in the same room. Because yeah, okay, Taylor Swift, I went to our concert. We were in the same room. Or like, do you do a meet and greet? That counts. That counts. If you exchanged words, photos, glances, that counts. Besides me, obviously.
Starting point is 00:13:54 Who was I just? Like, I met Miley Cyrus once. That's what I was thinking. The most famous. That's like my most famous celebrity, like, running, you know? Running, yeah. That's different than, like, being an event or something. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:09 like before he was who he is now and he was just sort of like the Wonder Kid building spaceships I met Elon Musk at like a party and he was like I love your blog and I was like okay and I always forget that that happened because he's like Elon then is different than Elon now but I feel like that's probably the most famous person I've ever met that's a very famous person
Starting point is 00:14:27 yeah and I didn't even understand the magnitude of it at the time I've met him I've met him yeah I've met him yeah this is just genuinely like one of the ugliest photos together and she's the most famous person in the world So that's the most famous person. When did you meet Kim? Like a work, like you wouldn't even know. It was probably like 10 years ago.
Starting point is 00:14:48 But like. It was a work event. It was, um. I feel like it's not bringing up any memories for me. It wouldn't. I would like, it was like a corporate thing. Corporate, back in my corporate days. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Oh, I met Sarita Williams. That's like really up there too. That was a corporate meeting. Yeah. Corporate meeting of the minds. Yeah. Cool. Very cool.
Starting point is 00:15:11 I love celebrities. Super cool. Super cool. Yeah, I feel like I'm like a girl, like I'm literally Megan Fox in confessions of a teenage drama queen. Like I feel that my worth is directly tied to like how many celebrities I met. Megan and Sue Wolfe like into his party. Like whenever that was like.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Exactly. I forget you had like a birthday party or something and someone like famous was like there. I'm not going to remember. It was literally 10 years ago. Wait, hold on. It sounding. familiar. And I told you you were being like Megan Fox and Stubel. There was somebody famous at my birthday party? Yeah, like a million years ago.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Like maybe someone from The Bachelor or something. Oh, okay. I guess we're playing fast and loose with the word famous. That meant everything to us then. Back in the day, it's so true. And I stand by what I said yesterday, which is like, I don't know, famous, like, celebrities, like, don't really do it for me. Now. Yeah. Oh, I met Alex Earl. So I guess Alex Earl would be her and Elon Musk. I'm really like in my influencer era. Like I only care about the influencers. I wonder if other people feel that way at all.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Like I don't know. I find celebrities so boring. With the exception of like Taylor Swift and Select Feet. And Kylie, yes. When it comes to who would I would rather be in a room with like a bunch of boring actors or like a bunch of viral TikTok and YouTubers. Like yeah, I think I'd go for the latter. Honestly.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Same. Maybe it's because like that whole parisocial element where it feels like we really know them. I don't know what it is, but they, at least for me, just like eclipsed interest. They're more interesting, yeah. Yeah. So good job. I think a lot of people feel that way. Good job influencers.
Starting point is 00:16:50 You're doing your job. Good job influencers. Yeah. Consider me influenced. For sure. Now, I feel like we should dive in. We do have like a shit ton to do today. And like there's a lot of things that we need to talk about in tandem of like what we
Starting point is 00:17:01 already talked about like Taylor and Mariska. So without further a do-to-do-do, it is time for the fast-eye stories that you-da-do need to know. Starting point is 00:18:35 loungeware, undergarments, underwear, bras. Skims is top tier. Their fabrics are truly one of a kind. And they're in their cotton era, which I think a lot of people are because we're all becoming just like way more conscious of the materials that we're wearing, especially in our, you know, intimates. And when it comes to cotton, they have everything, especially in these like warmer times, like you need cotton. So their cotton clothes, underwear bras are super popular for a reason. They're very lightweight. You guys know I love their brawlets. I think it's the best product that they make. And I have the fits everybody one, which I love. but I wear to sleep a lot. I have the cotton one. The rib tanked. Rib tanks are like very viral and very trendy. People love them. If you're looking for one that's still going to hold up over time because I think a lot of times you get a rib tank and it just like stretches and loses its fit. But it's not too tight too. That's an important distinction. We love that it keeps its shape. It doesn't get baggy after a few wears. Everything from Skims is amazing. Starting point is 00:23:09 Well, whatever it may be. The Starbucks rapuccino drink is a perfect option for you. You can find the bottled Starbucks Rappuccino drinks wherever you buy your gas or groceries. They're delicious. Buy a couple. Keep them like at home if you're a stay-at-home mom and just need like a midday treat at the office. Make sure to put a post. posted on it so Sally from the water cooler doesn't steal it. And you can find it anywhere, really. Wherever you buy your gas or groceries, check it out. It's a bottled Starbucks for Appuccino drinks. Thank you, Turticino. You're welcome. I feel like, do you ever watch the fruit AI like soap operas?
Starting point is 00:23:39 Yeah. And their names are always Banana Cheetah, like because it's a banana. And then it's like orangina. Yeah, and you're Turticino. I'm Turticino, yeah. Our first story, Taylor Swift appears at the Chiefs game last night, chatting with Tom Cruise as they curing. on Travis Kelsey at the first Chiefs game of the season.
Starting point is 00:23:57 So I forgot this is something that happens. But the Chiefs played last night. Travis's wife, Taylored, was in attendance sitting next to Tom Cruise. Taylor's back. Growing to Turney for comment. Okay. I feel that last night between the Mariska Hargitay pre-taped segment and her in real
Starting point is 00:24:20 life at the Chiefs game, we got a very, very good look at the new haircut. And might I say I love it? Like it's really inspired. I don't even know what to call it because it's not a lob, but it's not like mid either. It's a very unique length. And I think it looks great, especially for a girl who like relatively never changes her hair. Like if she had her curly era and like that's pretty much it and then the bangs. Like she's kind of consistent in that.
Starting point is 00:24:42 And getting a haircut is of course scary. I just want to say I love it. Like I really love it. I love it too. Are you talking about the hair so much because you're avoiding having to deal with the fact that she was with Tom Cruise, your mortal enemy? No, I'm not. I hate to just lead with negativity because as you guys know I'm not that type of person.
Starting point is 00:24:58 Yeah, of course, like devastating to see my biggest like my role model sitting with my op, Tom Cruise. Like, because one thing about me, I keep my foot on the neck of Tom Cruise. Now, do I think that this is a poor reflection on Taylor and like the people on Twitter who are like, it's so disappointing to see her. No, because I'm not a loser.
Starting point is 00:25:16 But it is so disappointing. I'm kidding. No, but I think also, I like to see her we're like interacting with famous people. Like I don't care really that much. They could have just wound up in the same box. I don't think he's like the personal guest of Taylor. No, he is because as we know, Taylor.
Starting point is 00:25:31 He is the personal guest. Yeah, Taylor exclusively goes to games at Arrowhead. She won't go to other stadiums. And it's because she has her setup there. I believe that they're in the same suite every time. It's her suite or it's Travis's suite, because there's always like Travis's family. So no one is in there because they like had some extra tickets
Starting point is 00:25:46 and they gave them to the marketing department. Like, no, he was a guest of Travis and Kelsey. Maybe it's Travis and Taylor. Maybe it's like he's a guest of Travis. Yeah, and I just want to say, like, there's nothing wrong with being a Tom Cruise fan. Like, he is, like, one of the biggest movie stars in American history. And I do like that, like, in recent years, like, Taylor doesn't give a fuck. I feel like she used to be, like, so afraid of any sort of scandal that she would shy away from, like, maybe a potential friendship.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Because, like, Tom Cruise has bad PR, like, whatever. I like that she doesn't care. She likes her friends canceled. I do think that that's something that comes with maturity. And so I like that she It is because it's also not even about Like if you did like your friends canceled You would be friends with like lively
Starting point is 00:26:28 So it's like what are you talking about? Or like Kelly Teller Like what's literally what's going on So I like that she doesn't give a fuck Yeah I just like it would have been more exciting To see her there like sitting next to Chloe Kardashian You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:26:41 Like if I'd choose anyone like I ain't choosing Tom Cruise By the way fun fact Chloe Kardashian is a big fan of your favorite creator, the one who meal preps. You're kidding. She knows our girl? She does. She's been commenting on her videos. Chloe is literally so real. And what's the name? What's the name? It's them something. Do you mean the name of my favorite creator? Yeah. I should just say her name because it's literally so disrespectful. Oh, them Hoffers. Them. Oh, she's like saying that's probably the name of her family.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Yeah. Her name is Cindy Hoffer and her handle is them Hoffers. We keep talking about her, but we like can't, we forget the name. So that's her name. Chloe is a big. I can't. Chloe leaves comments. Chloe loves Reels, by the way. Yeah, she's a Reels mama. I, like, seriously love this woman with my whole life. No, me too. That's my goal.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Like, I want to be like her. She made, like, an amazing meal prep this week. She does every week. Like pizza rolls, just insane. No, I will be her in due time. Kinawa bites. So good. And she's a Cowboys fan.
Starting point is 00:27:48 Oh, is she from Texas? I always got the vibe. she was Southern. I have no idea. I'm just sort of following along for the ride, you know? Yeah, I love her. But I thought you would like that for Chloe. I do. I do like that for Chloe. Chloe commented like, you're amazing. Taylor took like a big break last season from going to games, even at Arrowhead. Remember we were like wondering if it was because she got like a botched facelift or like she because of her stalker. There were a lot of different theories. But I guess she's back. Once you're married, like you got to go. Yeah. And I think, you know, the facelift has set.
Starting point is 00:28:20 It looks really good. So she's going. She didn't time it perfectly. She probably timed it perfectly for the wedding, but she didn't time it perfectly for the Toloas press run. Yeah. And the beginning of football season. Because she had to be hiding.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Right. It was the end of football season. It's hard to find time to get a facelift when you're a public figure. Like when our time comes, I don't know what we're going to do. Well, you know, I'm very conflicted about getting a facelift. Okay. Because like obviously my conflict is that I love. of plastic surgery and I'm a believer that like if you need something, get something and I'm sure
Starting point is 00:28:53 I'll need one. Like I know I will need a lip lift one day. Like it's in my future. But I feel that people genuinely underestimate like how big of a procedure a facelift is. Like it's not like boob jobs are like low key standard. Like nose jobs too. Like you do like you do recover in like a week. And also like we could do, I'm not talking about us. We could do this show recovering from a boob job. Oh yeah. I mean, I have no shame. I'll sit here with a thing on my face. You'll sit there wrapped up. Yeah. It's more so that I feel that it's a major. major recovery that I'm really not prepared for. I'm not a good patient. No, you're not. Do you remember when I got like one thing done to my chin and like seriously never never stop
Starting point is 00:29:29 talking about it? Yeah. Yeah. No, I agree. Maybe you're not like the best candidate. Olivia said she could hear me. Olivia picked me up. She said she could hear me from screaming from the waiting room. And also as much as you said like I'll sit here with a bandage. Like you wouldn't be able to talk your face off for over an hour a day recovering from a facelift. Like it's not just about that you're wearing a bandage. Like you're in pain. I think you forget. I'm the girl who got a public eye. on this podcast. I used a podcast hungover. If you could do that, you could do anything. That's not true. That's not a deal. But you're not even listening to what I'm saying. Like, I don't think I have the Constitution to go through such a, like a major, major procedure. I think people underestimate generally.
Starting point is 00:30:08 What goes into getting a facelift? Sorry, I skipped over that point because I heartily agreed and there was enough said. Like, I'm scared. I'm not doing it. I think I'm more scared of the facelift than I am of looking old and ugly. Yeah. That's fair. So I think I'll stick with like Botox fillers, like literally everything but like only because I'm afraid.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Like but from the neck down, I'll look 26. Face up, 62. But will that not make you look older? At least they're talking about me. You know? Yeah. Anyways, also say like, let's give them something at suck of that.
Starting point is 00:30:45 It is hard to time your facelift as a public figure. Oh yeah. Right, right. However, because like we said, it's a major surgery. One year later, she's looking amazing. Settled flawlessly. Yeah. She looked.
Starting point is 00:30:58 It was a great night for Taylor. Like, she just looked. And she's also like in an off era for her. Right. She hasn't done any work professionally since T. Lois, it's like Travis's time. She was planning a wedding. Right, right. She was getting married.
Starting point is 00:31:13 And then she was timing. I don't know what when she does start working and stuff, like what that means for her football attendance. Yes. Well, we'll get to that in the next story, sort of, but I just wanted to say one more note about Taylor that people were noting was that she wasn't drinking. Yes, I of course saw the theories the Taylor Swift's stomach watchdogs. I'm with them. Like, she also could have just not been drinking. Like maybe she had to wake up early. It doesn't mean anything. She doesn't usually have a vodka soda in her in her feed. But I think that if she were pregnant, then she would go to the effort to pretend like she could just get a cup of ice water and it wouldn't raise any flags. With a lime.
Starting point is 00:31:48 So I actually think because she wasn't drinking That's more of a clue that she's not This is the girl who shows up to her shows In a fruit refrigerator like she She goes there's no length she won't go to To pull the wool over your eyes 1,000% So she could pour herself a little drink
Starting point is 00:32:03 A little seltzer A cup of grape juice She's not even going to pour it herself Like someone's going to pour it for her Yeah so I don't think that that's a smoking gun at all No me neither I would love for the gun to be smoky as hell But I don't think it is Yeah I don't think it is
Starting point is 00:32:17 Okay, well, it does lead into our next story, which is a bit of Emmys discussion, including the Easter egg video that Taylor Swift did with Olivia Benson, the sketch, the SVU sketch. Apparently, there's a lot of Easter eggs in there. Well, the concept of the sketch was very funny. They were like trying to solve a crime in the SVU office, Ice Tea, everyone was at Rollins. And the crime, no, well, not the crime. Like the question that they were trying to solve using all these, like, different clues was Will Taylor Swift attend the Emmys? and they're like going through all the different shows and what it could possibly mean. And then the new guy shows up, Taylor, the detective. She's like, I think you guys have got this all backwards. And whatever, they ended up getting to the conclusion
Starting point is 00:32:55 that of course she's not going to attend the Emmys. Her husband has a football game that night. The answer lies in TV. And then her and Mariska do this like cute. It was very, very, first of all, funny. Like me and Ben were cracking. It was well written. Of course, because that is how the Swifties are with her clues,
Starting point is 00:33:09 like putting them on board like detectives. And we actually got clues from Taylor last night. Right. So here are some things on the board, okay? We have Tuesday 8 a.m. The clock is set to 10.13. And 1013, October 13th is a Tuesday. So then we have Tuesday 8 a.m. October 13th. Question mark. Personally, like, I do draw the line with the Easter eggs. Like I feel that my, you know, we all have a role to play in the war to come. And my role as a Swifty is not the decoding department. I am not sitting down with my cork board.
Starting point is 00:33:55 I can't get involved in these types of things. I really can't. We have DTF St. Louis. What's that? TV show. Great. Thank you so much. Because they were also using like the TV shows nominated last night to like.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Yes, yes, yes. There's a lot. Abbott Alimentary is here. Hacks. Elementary. Elementary. Just that I'd switch it up. Elementary. And then there's also speculation based on this
Starting point is 00:34:23 that two Taylor's versions are in here. Two albums. Because it said to TV. TV could be the television because it was the Emmys or it could be Taylor's version. And then also when she said it all comes back to TV, that could also be a Taylor's version.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Nod. Yeah. Even though we're, yeah. North South, she said. I do think, like without getting too specific, into this. One, I'm setting alarm October 13 8.m. Two, I do think this is the beginning
Starting point is 00:34:48 of clues. Like, I think some, like, like how you said. She's due for an album. And you said CMA's her going. This ain't my last call. I think we're on the road of an announcement. And you know that her clothes are always a part
Starting point is 00:35:04 of the universe. And her like gingham Southerny country dress last night, like was giving CMA country album of the year. Yeah. Yeah. I think we're on the road. I think we're on the road too. It's exciting to be on the road.
Starting point is 00:35:17 It's frustrating and annoying, but it's also exciting. It's one of the worst places to be. At this point right here. No, the road gets really rocky when it's like all for a special additional vinyl album. All for merch. Yeah. Yeah. I agree.
Starting point is 00:35:33 But when it's all for something, I'm sad. Agreed. And then do you want to talk about Emmy winners? Oh, yeah. Nothing, I feel like there wasn't, the pit was like the most nominated. Actually at one point, I think in like the supporting actress category, there were four actresses from the pit. None of them won. Like, Alice and Janney won.
Starting point is 00:35:55 They split the vote. It was so random. But so there wasn't I feel like a show. Actually, Widows Bay probably. I kept calling it. Me and Ben were talking about. We're like, what is this show? Widows Peak.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Widows Bay. What's it about? I have no idea it's a comedy. It sounds like it's about a lot of like wealthy widows who live on the best. No, I saw the clips. Nobody looked wealthy. Okay, there is a bay. A New England mayor trying to boost tourism on his island must navigate strange events suggesting it might be cursed.
Starting point is 00:36:23 That sounds great. We dodged like a major bullet. Thank you to the Lord and the voting members of the Emmy Academy for not voting for Hannah Einbender. Like I personally could not have sat through one of her speeches. Like I was going to turn it off. So thank you. And then Gene Smart one, which I was glad because like even though I didn't finish hacks, like I root for hacks and Gene Smart like is a queen.
Starting point is 00:36:45 She won and I think, I don't know what the statistic is, but what is it? Like four or five seasons of hacks. She's won every single year. Wow. And now the show's over. So it was like very much everybody gave her a standing ovation. It was very like conclusive. Wow.
Starting point is 00:36:57 Has that ever happened before? No, there were a couple of records. That guy Matthew Reese. Yeah. He's in two different shows, the diplomat and Widows Bay. And he got nominated for both as like lead actor and won both. You mean he got nominated two different categories? For two different shows.
Starting point is 00:37:15 Yes, but in two different... For two different characters. Yes, yes, yes. Okay, okay. He won twice. Like supporting actor. He won lead actor in a comedy and lead actor in a drama.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Yeah, in a limited series. Oh, and then the weird thing was, but they had a category of, can you read me the categories? Which one did Sally Field win? I'm on my way, my birthday, buddy. Yeah. She won lead actress in a limited or anthology series.
Starting point is 00:37:42 So that's in like a mini series. Okay. what she won for Remarkably Bright Creatures was a movie, okay? When they included her in the nominations, I'm like, well, she can't win. She's not in a series. Are you positive?
Starting point is 00:37:55 But I watched it. Okay. It was a two hour long movie. You're sure about that? I'm sure. It was a movie. Okay. And so I thought it was weird that she won.
Starting point is 00:38:04 And her speech, she said something like low-key, like, hella disrespectful. Her first thing was that like she wanted to thank the woman who wrote the book for writing this amazing story about a man, a woman, an octopus. So shout out Shelby Ben Peltor, whatever your name is. I was like, is that a joke?
Starting point is 00:38:21 But then the rest of her speech was so serious. I was like, I was actually really shook by that comment. That's really crazy. Maybe it stems from something. Maybe they have beef or it's like a joke. Or they have not. I don't know, maybe they have jokes. But yeah, that is weird to the naked eye.
Starting point is 00:38:38 And I thought it was weird that she won. Because you didn't like it. No, because it's a movie. Oh, right, right. She was a series. Right. Claire Daines, Beeson, Me, Carrie Mulligan, Beef, Sarah Pigeon, Sarah Snook. The fanning sisters, like, had a sister night out. They were both nominated for, like, separate TV shows.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Margaret's Got Many Troubles, and she's in the Sarah Snook one. What the hell was it called, tell me? All her fault. Yeah. And they were just, like, in the front row, like, having the time of their lives. I don't think either of them won, but they were just happy to be there. That's so cute. That's where I would have liked to have sat.
Starting point is 00:39:10 That's really cute. They're obviously spending a lot of time together working on the Nightingale. as they motherfucking should get to work. I think they're working on it. Like it's being worked on. Good. So, yeah, I guess Pitt won best drama for those. Noah Weil won also, like for his lead actor.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Comedy, Widows Bay, limited series, DTF, St. Louis. Truly have never heard of it. I thought it was like. The Traders won. And the Traders Returns this week. For nobody's. For nobody's. And they won for competition series.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Reality competition program. Reality. Yeah. Dancing with the Stars. tonight and then traitors later on in the week and it's the one without celebrities. I wonder if it's going to be so much better or so much worse. I think it might be like if you're into games, I think it will be better on the gaming end.
Starting point is 00:39:53 People don't know who each other are, who's smart, who's not. The other show like has that inherent flaw that all the smart people get out first. Yeah, it's so true. It's annoying. Yeah. So I think if you're into like actually the art of the game, it will be better. And yeah, I'm down. Okay, that's your Emmys recap, a bridged Emmys recap.
Starting point is 00:40:14 Yeah, I liked it. Our next story is a little more TV news. Michaela Matthews from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives announces her exit after hearing recent news that she said went against her morals. So Michaela Matthews from Secret Lives and Mormon Wives posted yesterday that she will not be returning to the show. She said, I made my decision over a week ago after hearing some news that I will not be continuing the show at this moment.
Starting point is 00:40:38 In her post, she said that she was no longer comfortable being a part of the show, which she said was platforming behavior she didn't agree with, especially given her own experience growing up in a home with multiple forms of abuse. There's no amount of money worth going against my morals or changing the stance I've had since I first saw and heard the things that made me feel this strong lane. She added, though she did not share further details. And for her personally, she said continuing to directly profit from this behavior feels wrong and unethical.
Starting point is 00:41:01 It feels like a disservice to the children, everyone's healing, and the millions of people watching. Supporting an adult doesn't mean constantly making excuses for toxic behavior while giving unconditional sympathy and grace with zero accountability or change. I was in that enabling cycle for years and I'm not going to be a part of it again. Give yourself a pat on the back. It is, first of all, I was just not expecting. Let me rephrase. This shocked me for a multitude of reasons.
Starting point is 00:41:34 It's hard to imagine that anyone would walk away from a show that's like literally just making you so much money and you're so famous. Printing money. To walk away because, it conflicts directly with your core values is something that only somebody with an enormous amount of integrity does. And to be honest, like, I never saw that for Michaela. Like, maybe I just don't know her, but like, she wasn't giving me the vibe that she was
Starting point is 00:41:58 like this extreme stand-up citizen, like, who would do something like this? I was so shocked. I was very impressed. Like, her statement was there's, so everyone's walks, the walk, condemns this, condemns that. But nobody would actually walk away. and hurt themselves, right? Everybody still continues to profit it, you know, inadvertently platform it by putting themselves on the show.
Starting point is 00:42:22 And it's a huge sign of like unseen maturity. I don't know. And someone who has a serious problem with what's going on, which is a lot of people, they might be like, you know what I'm going to go on the show and I'm going to tell them. Like, but to actually walk away to be like that mature and evolved to be like, I don't want any part of this.
Starting point is 00:42:40 I don't want to be seen to support this in any way. don't care if it's at the detriment of like my finances and my career like my morals and my values are more important to me wow wow I just I I was shocked reading this genuinely and it also pretty much confirms that production will continue to film with Taylor and share her story and we knew that yeah um I wonder what she found out last week yes like what is the more stuff and I remember even when the production pause happened and then the video came out of the bar stools. I remember the girls, like, Miranda and people were saying, like, there's so much more
Starting point is 00:43:21 that you guys don't know. Like, we had to pause because we found out all this stuff. And, like, there's so much more. There's so much more. And I just feel like they're always saying there's so much more. Like, can someone tell us? Because it's really hard to adjudicate when we have. Is the more in the room with us?
Starting point is 00:43:33 10% of the information, it seems like. It's so true. Michaela and Taylor were, like, beefing on TikTok. Yeah. Um, Michaela had posted some like snarky TikTok towards Taylor. It was responding to when Taylor said in the show like, Michaela needs to be humbled.
Starting point is 00:43:52 And then Taylor posted like something in response about how like, she commented on a creator's video who was like recapping the drama. And she was like, this is bullying at this point. Um, I'm pretty sure she spelled it B-U-L-L-I-N-G, which is the way they pronounce it, bullying.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Bullying. They say so many things. For real? No, when they say like understand like they always have an SH in place of an Utah accent is very real yeah um and then I saw a comment like oh that Michaela won't associate with anyone who is associated with Taylor she like cut off like Miranda or something because she's associated with Taylor and then Taylor posted a video of like screenshots of
Starting point is 00:44:28 Jace following Taylor being like well your man is still associates with me and I think like I'm sure Jace didn't know that he's still followed Taylor no and I'm sorry all of Taylor's TikToks recently are about her like finding the Lord and finding celibacy and so it's like if you really are wanting us to believe you're on this healing journey um why why the fuck are you like making TikToks about Michaela's man you know yeah yeah and then I saw a really strange comment by Taylor that like hasn't been dissected yet so I feel like it might not be what I think it's about but it was something about like I don't even want to repeat it because I think I might have my wires crossed
Starting point is 00:45:09 because I can't imagine she would say something like this, like to Jason Michaela. Speak it. It was like something about like thinking, like using Taylor in the bedroom or something. I don't know. I have to find. She's disgusting.
Starting point is 00:45:21 I have to, wait, I think I, if you give me a minute, I don't want to like. Yes, I will also say Jackie pointed out to me yesterday that Michaela is currently, I think,
Starting point is 00:45:28 in Milan or somewhere with all the women. They're clearly filming. So I do think similar to how we found out Whitney was leaving, but then we still got a season. I think we will have one more season with Michaela. And then that'll be the, that but they're sort of dropping like flies over there how do you find like drama information you know what you mean um you can google like salama mckela taylor well it probably happened on
Starting point is 00:45:51 ticot what exactly are you looking for a comment that taylor frankie paul left on in in a tic talk you comment about jace yes jemini's trying to help me oh found it What is it? So he had commented, okay, so she made a TikTok saying, let me get this straight. She cuts off anyone that supports me. So who's going to tell her?
Starting point is 00:46:17 Oh, I guess he can. And it's the fact that Jace still follows her. So Jase commented, what the hell? This is how I find out you don't follow me anymore. That's funny. And she said, I'm so irrelevant, you thought of me to seek advice in the bedroom.
Starting point is 00:46:30 I guess when they were going through their intimacy issues, maybe he reached out to Taylor because she's sort of like the advanced one in the group. Is that what happened? I thought that would comment was like, I'm guessing. Seriously so inappropriate. Taylor is a fucking crazy person. Yeah, she really is. She really is.
Starting point is 00:46:46 Well, that was easy to find. You got to get on TikTok. How did you do it? How did you find it? I searched Taylor Frankie Paul comment, Jace, and it came up. The comment just shows up. Recap videos like drama channels. Drama channels. Honestly, thank God for the drama channels. We kind of are a drama channel. We are. I always like, I don't want to be at all.
Starting point is 00:47:05 But when they show those clips and on Secret Lives, Of course, I know. Commentating on the drama. I'm like surprised and glad that we're not on there. Well, I know that we're not on there because we have been used. And they have to reach out for rights. And like they have to sign over the license and stuff. So I knew we weren't going to be on it.
Starting point is 00:47:24 And honestly, like, I didn't want to be a part of that. I'm so glad. When they use people's TikTok videos, do they have to get the rights? Maybe not. I have no idea. Because I feel like. Maybe that's why they do TikTok. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:33 Yeah. I think so too. Yeah. But when they take our podcast, they have to license it. That's why they don't include it. No, I didn't want to be done. I don't want to be done. No.
Starting point is 00:47:40 I want to say, just when I was starting to like Michaela, she disappears, I respect this decision wholeheartedly. Like, it's very rare to see someone walk the walk and talk the talk. Yeah. And I commend her. She will be missed. I saw Macy. People were commenting, Macy, like, are you also leaving?
Starting point is 00:47:56 She was like, I'm, you know, filming now and thinking about it. So I just feel like she's getting pressure to also, like, do the integrity thing. And she's like not doing it. And I understand it. It's like this terrible person is going to come in the way of me supporting for my family. Like no, actually. I could see that wanting to. You can make the argument.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Like, you know what? I'll have, you know, I could be more effective if I'm on the show and I'm calling out the behavior and I'm raising the red flag. And that is a good argument too. But like just to walk away from it is so mature and a big of a person. And I just hope that in the last two years like she's made more money than she'll ever really need and she can live comfortably and she'll have brand deals and she has tons of followers. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:35 She'll still make a ton of. money just from being like a high profile influencer. But yeah, you don't. And that's what we were saying about like that tier of girls who like never like really switched up their life too much, have enjoyed all the benefits. But do you see Michaela's house? Like she seriously lives in, I think the same house since season one. Like she doesn't seem to live beyond her means.
Starting point is 00:48:52 Yeah. So I think that's great for her. And it's a good place to be up because then you don't need the show. And then you can leave on your own terms. And I also think that she's definitely on season six, which is going to be like the Bachelorette fallout because that was months ago. And she maybe even. filmed after that.
Starting point is 00:49:07 Like she's going to do the same way Whitney quit the show, but we're still watching her. We're going to be watching her for like at least another year before she's out. I bet this just makes like Whitney feel good about her decision. Like everything that's happened because she made her decision before all of this. And now it's like, yeah, who the hell wants to be a part of this? It's so lowbrow. No, but she made her decision.
Starting point is 00:49:25 I thought after like the Bachelorette drama. No, because it was, her decision was all about like Broadway. It had nothing to do with the fact that like the show was in jambles. No, but like right now in the show, Whitney's on Broadway and the bachelor is about to come out slash not. Did Whitney leave the show like three weeks into Broadway? So good question. I feel like, yeah, I feel like she left it when she started Broadway.
Starting point is 00:49:50 But we're following her. She's on the season when she starts Broadway. That's when did Whitney Levitt leave secret lives? Announce. Announce. She announced her exit. May 4th. When was the Bachelorette?
Starting point is 00:50:11 I think it was like April. Was a bachelor's before Westman. When did ABC cancel the Bachelorette? March. March April. March. So yeah, after. I guess that makes a decision easier.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Like, this is becoming, this used to be like a fun show. And now it's seriously like trash. Yeah. And of course you could say, CPS. Of course you could say like production should, you know, take Taylor off the show
Starting point is 00:50:39 and Michaela be on the show. But it's like they're not going to do that. The show needs Taylor's, chaos in order to be a show and Kayla's never going to stoop to that level. So like this is just, it's wrong, but it's the way it goes. It's wrong, but it's right. It's wrong, but it's the way it goes.
Starting point is 00:50:57 And I just think everyone should have immense respect for her. I agree. Like seriously, kudos to you. Yeah. And I do want to know like the more stuff. Yeah. Everybody's going to need to stop like pussyfooting around the more. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:11 Hopefully next season in what, six months? That season was too short. We really needed like a part two. It wasn't a season. Like that's the thing. It was a part one. I feel like we're in a midseason finale. I feel like that too.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Don't drag it out. Like a month. Don't drag it out. We might lose interest. Yeah. I almost did by the time the show came out. No, I'm sorry. The second I started watching, I said I'm so back.
Starting point is 00:51:36 Oh, the second I started watching. But like before I'm like, I never really thought about it in a while. Yeah, I haven't thought about it in a while either. Just no. Okay. Our next story. Maclemore has been dropped from the Ed Shearren tour after his Free Palestine speech at a September 4th concert at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. So Ed Shearin had a tour going on, a stadium tour, and he had tapped McElmore to open for him.
Starting point is 00:52:02 And on September 4th, McElmore did just so and turned it into an opportunity. A political rally. To make it a rally for Palestine, stating free Palestine, wanting everyone. in Gaza and the occupied West Bank to know that they had not been forgotten. Of course, people were upset about this. There was, like, petitions for him to drop. Maclemore, which he wouldn't have done because he chose him. And McElmore has been this person for many years.
Starting point is 00:52:31 The whole times he does, like, Jew face. He dresses up as a Jew. He does Hitler salutes. Like, it's an intentional choice because it's not like he's this insanely popular in-demand artist who you want on your tour. Like, no. It's almost like that's who's opening for Ed She. No, he's certainly like a washed up has been artist who now just makes headlines because
Starting point is 00:52:51 uses like political movements about like Israel and free Palestine, free Palestine, free Palestine. So since that, I didn't really, I haven't been paying attention because I'm like, this is the world now. You know what I mean? Like this is how things go and I don't know what that means, but I can't think about it all the time and pay attention to it and like, fuck Ed Shear and fuck Macalmore. I'm on my way, you know? Yeah, there are so many people involved in this and I don't know.
Starting point is 00:53:15 if I have a lesser opinion of anyone, more than I do, Ed Shearin. Well, so here's what happened, and there was a signature with a protest with a bunch of signatures, like drop him, but like he would never. But then Robert Kraft slammed his dick on the table and told Ed Shearin that he could not bring his tour to Gillette Stadium
Starting point is 00:53:36 if McElmore was the opening artist, and he also said a bunch of other stadium owners are in agreement and he could not tour there. Now, he is set to play like, 10 more stadium shows in the U.S. I think McElmore was going to open for him at eight of them. And they sort of forced Ed's hand. And Ed dropped McElmore from the show.
Starting point is 00:53:57 And to be honest, like I said, like I don't know if I think, I don't know. I don't know what I thought about Ed Shearren before. But like I now hold such a low opinion of him because he couldn't make the decision to drop McElmore based on his own values. And he also like almost high. hired him, like the hiring seems so random to me, because like I said, this is a huge stadium tour. Like Sabrina Carpenter opened for Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 00:54:22 You know what I mean? The opener for a stadium tour is not a nobody. Yeah. So to have chosen McElmore, who seriously is just like, and obviously like I dislike McLemore, but this is just facts, like completely unbiased. Like, it's not successful or talented, besides for one song from an actual over a decade ago.
Starting point is 00:54:37 It's such an intentional choice. So you made that choice and then you couldn't, you didn't do anything when there was backlash. And it wasn't until your own bottom line, have been affected. Like, I just feel like he's spineless. Yeah, it's really crazy. He seems very committed to not taking a stance on the issue, which I have a lot of respect
Starting point is 00:54:56 for it. And I think people, you have every right to do. People should be able to in all different like areas and conflicts, like to have no opinion. Like seriously, I love that for you. Stay out of it. Agreed. So to initially invite him on the tour when he is so outspoken and so polarizing and so
Starting point is 00:55:13 hateful, why would you do that? if you really want to be that guy because now he's in this spot where like he has to drop him otherwise he's making a huge statement and he doesn't want to make a huge statement so why would you thought you could like bait everyone and like you would get away with it and everyone would just have to made to be uncomfortable and he macamore could speak for you and and you just get to play all innocent what did you think was going to happen and obviously Robert Kraft or you know his friends Columbob has been like getting heat now being like you know you're a billionaire using your and it's like this is my place of business I don't want uh these this going on there like he's well within his rights
Starting point is 00:55:53 to have done that like let me say this whole situation once again is terrible for the Jews just like John Galliano what's worse than it actually happening is that it being canceled fuels more rumors Jews control the world right they obviously don't however like Robert Kraft yeah control your stadium we happen we happen to have a Jew in a high place. Feel free to control your stadium because people don't know how to behave. And so even if it fuels more, you can't say it more, can't be worse right now, really.
Starting point is 00:56:20 So say Jews could draw the world because my Acklemore had to be dropped from Ed Shearren, whatever. Yeah, I just, like, I'm focused here on how big of a loser Ed Shearin is. And the funny thing is that I think sort of what's uniting the world is that people from both sides like hate Ed Shearin now. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:56:39 And he had wanted to stay out of it. the unification. But like he refused to do anything pro or anti or just like sort of let this whole thing like happened to him. And so yeah, everyone hates him now. And I think that's funny. Yeah, it is funny. And I'm sure he's having like a really bad week like PR wise.
Starting point is 00:56:56 A thousand percent. Especially because like being, aside from the fact when you want to go to like Robert Kraft's stadium for the most part like being free Palestine like is good for business. Career. You know because anyone who's like an outspoken Zionist is suffered. and is isolated and look at Pink. I mean, look at Gal Godot. Look at the boy from Stranger Things.
Starting point is 00:57:17 It's been less than a week for Pink. And like literally, I feel that the damage done to her reputation, you see Elizabeth Banks? Yeah, we tell everyone. Elizabeth Banks is a loser. Elizabeth Banks sat next to Pink at the U.S. Open and I posted this carousel of photos of her at the U.S. Open and, like, literally cut Pink out of every single one.
Starting point is 00:57:37 Yeah. Yeah. So it doesn't pay to be, pro-Israel on this issue not at all it does to be free Palestine look at mark ruffalo look at billy ishlish look at all of these people Hannah eindbender um who just get to act like a victim yet they're thriving um so yeah that ed shiren now has to be in this position it's kind of gorgeous yeah it is poetic yeah you literally did this to yourself nobody was asking to see macklemore open up for you there are so many like whiny male artists right now
Starting point is 00:58:11 who would be perfect opening up for you. Like, what about Alex Warren? No, I can't even stress how like opening acts, obviously, you know, you think it's like a shitty gig. Opening up for Ed Shearin. In a stadium. It's akin to opening up for Taylor Swift. Like, it's not nothing.
Starting point is 00:58:26 So the people who would be a part of that lineup are not on the rise even. They're risen. Like, and it was such a bad choice, almost, you know, an intentional choice. And so for you have ended so poorly for Ed Shearin, I'm personally. thrilled by that. Yeah. So I'm going to have a hard time on Friday deciding between Robert Kraft and Michaela Matthews for Queenie of the Week. Honestly, Michaela Matthews.
Starting point is 00:58:51 Honestly, Robert Craft. No, it's like easy to like, not that I'm not diminishing what Robert Craft did, but like it's, it's easy to whip your dick around like when you have a billion dollars. Like Michaela Matthews is just a girl, like up against a network. Yeah, that's true. It's like David and Goliath. Yeah, but it's like, you can talk your shit, but not here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:11 Yeah. I was reading Maclemore's statement and like it's so crazy like the the obsession that he has and he thinks he's so brave. I'm going to say these. I'm taking the stage to say these two words. It's like you are seriously simping for a terrorist organization. Like you don't actually care. And he also said October 7th was like justified resistance. So like he's a piece of shit. He does Jew face. He's an anti-Semite. He wants to say he wears a fake nose. He wants to say I don't hate Jews. I just have criticism of the Israeli government. Like we know what that means. So why are you doing Heil Hitler if you don't hate you? You're a piece of garbage. Like seriously, everyone who liked his post unfollowed. Thank you. Honestly, it was no one. One girl, I didn't even know why he followed. Like, I actually didn't follow it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:52 It couldn't be happening to a worst person, for real, and I'm loving it. And I just want to say, like, this is not good for the Jews, honestly. Like, it's just going to fuel, like, more hate. I went to look at McLemore's statement, like, yesterday afternoon. He had 6.7 million followers. And then later that night, I went back to, like, show someone, someone something. And he was at over 7 million. And the post has like, what, almost four million likes?
Starting point is 01:00:13 And now he's at 7.2. This is really, really horrible. I'm going to have someone else. Oh, sorry, just got to do that real quick. Oh, you found someone else? Yeah, who liked it. I'm literally. It's great.
Starting point is 01:00:25 I was following too many people. What a crazy saga, honestly. Yeah. Oh, another one. Another one bites the dust. What was that the fourth story that you said would be? Those are four stories. Okay, okay. Taylor at the game, the Emmys,
Starting point is 01:00:43 Michaela Matthews, McElmore. My number one story is Michaela Matthews. Yeah, but I just felt like I couldn't put that first. Given like how big of a night for TV it was. I get it. Yeah. Okay, our fifth and final story. Stage coach 2027 lineup, Garth Brooks, Riley Green,
Starting point is 01:01:03 and Zach Topp will be headlining. I am so upset. Why? You're telling me Kelly Clarkson is performing before Riley Green and Zach Topp. Like the disrespect is insane.
Starting point is 01:01:24 First of all, not even to have a female headliner. Like, okay. Sorry, and I like Riley Green. I actually listen to his music. A headliner, he is not. Now, I don't know Zach Top, and I feel like maybe I missed out on the whatever,
Starting point is 01:01:35 so I can't judge whether or not he's inadequate. But, like, I also feel that he's not. and to seriously to grade Kelly Clarkson into opening up for one of these artists. Like I feel it's disgusting. Well, she's opening for Garth Brooks, which I do think in the order of things. I know, but I'm just saying based on like the lines.
Starting point is 01:01:50 Yeah, but maybe she wanted to perform on a Sunday. Like, maybe. Because I do think if she wanted. It's hard to imagine if they offered her the headlining. She would say, no, I'd rather go Sunday second to last. I don't know. And also like Lasquez late. She's a mama.
Starting point is 01:02:05 I feel like this has more to do with her than it does. No, I don't. I don't. Because she could also just easily not do stage coach. No, I think it's like genuine disrespect. I wanted to throw up when I saw this. So here are like the big names. On Friday, we have Riley Green as the headliner.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Headliner. Before him, Hardy and Brothers Osborne. And then throughout the day is also Shaboozy, Stella Lefty. Cameron Whitcomb. I'm just going based on the people that like I know and like. Cameron Whitcomb is great. That'll be great. Saturday, Zach Top.
Starting point is 01:02:38 I don't know who that is. I mean, like, I've heard of him. He's definitely new. It's, it's really not headline material. Yeah, and then before him is Willie Nelson. And I think other people would make the argument that you're making for Kelly about Willie Nelson. That Willie Nelson should be that.
Starting point is 01:02:56 Obviously. The headliner. And Journey. And I feel that so much of country music is like respecting the artists who came before you. And Willie Nelson opening up for Zach Top, like is not Congress with the values. I know country music to have. Yes.
Starting point is 01:03:10 Also, Charlie Crockett, Stephen Wilson, Jr., who's like literally nominated for everything, the fray, Dasha, Ingrid Andres, good luck to her. Hopefully it's not another national anthem. Mm-hmm. I like how, like,
Starting point is 01:03:24 the genre's a little mixed. Yeah, it's less country and more, like, not pop. And then there's Sunday, Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, Pitbull. I think I have to go for just like that hour and a half of Kelly and Pitbull.
Starting point is 01:03:38 And I love Pitbull. Like, I hate this. I like it. There's like one mainstream country music festival. And now it's like getting co-opted. And I'm actually, I'm not even mad at like Pitbull because to be honest, the country roster is really not doing it for me either. So yeah, like let's supplement with Pitbull.
Starting point is 01:04:00 It feels like the big dogs like didn't want to do it, you know? Because if Luke or Morgan wanted one of these spots, it would be theirs. I feel like they're sort of supplementing like, maybe. Maybe it's not an amazing, like, high-paying desirable gig. I think it is. Like, I really do. I think also it's something that a lot of artists want just, like, for the prestige. But yeah, Luke, Morgan, even Zach Bryan, like, all the bigs, the ones who play stadiums and arenas,
Starting point is 01:04:31 Casey Muskraves, like, no, like, all missing from. Ella. Blake Shelton. Ella! Yeah. Lainie Wilson. Like, where is everyone? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:04:40 It seems like it's not desirable. Jason Aldine. I'm going with that. Yeah. And then late night we have Florida Georgia Line, Sean Paul Floraida. Oh, I saw Florida Georgia Line a couple of days ago teasing this. They like made this video. And they're really trying to recapture the magic of whenever they were.
Starting point is 01:05:00 And I'm so down. But like I don't know if you saw that how committed they are. There's two. The Democrat and the Republican, right? That's how I know them. I can never remember their names. Brian and Tyler. Back in the day, the Democrat had like that long hair.
Starting point is 01:05:14 He had like a bob. He grew it out. Okay. That's commitment. Commitment to. Like they're trying to literally replicate. Oh, he grew his short hair back to his lob. Because then he had his solo career where he had like a buzz cut.
Starting point is 01:05:30 I don't say he didn't even recognize him. He brought the lob back is what you mean. He has the lob back and he had a buzz cut like normal boy hair for years. Like he's been off the lob. for the better half of a decade. But now the Florida George line is trying to recreate. They're taking a very copy-paced approach,
Starting point is 01:05:46 even the hair. Yeah, but is it like, are they going the Jonas Brothers, Backstreet Boys route of, like, nostalgia, like, let's create those good old days of cruise. It wasn't giving nostalgia. It was just giving, like,
Starting point is 01:05:55 truly picking up a little off. Or, like, you are trying to compete with Ella Langley and Morgan Wallen and you think, because you were the Morgan Wallen of the 2010s. So are you trying to, like, for those of us who were
Starting point is 01:06:09 there, like cater to us, or are you trying to get to top the charts again? I guess we'll see, like, if they play a lot of new music or if they just go down memory lane. Mm-hmm. I'm not sure, but I thought the hair was very telling. They could be the Jonas Brothers of Country Music. Yeah, it's hard to imagine, like, where they would be if they hadn't broken up, because I do think, like, they were very much on track to be, like, even more famous than Morgan Wallen.
Starting point is 01:06:35 Yeah. Because they really transcended genres. and Morgan is so so successful, but really within country. I mean, that's also like Sam Hunt, too. I know you hate him, but like he was also the number one, like viral guy of country music. Yeah, and people just all over loved him because he was like so handsome. And Dan and Shea. Tequila. Dan and Shea.
Starting point is 01:06:56 Tequila. Yeah. It's hard to be in a duo. Dan and Shea and Florida, Georgia Line should go on a joint tour. Tour. That's like a Jonas Brothers Hillary Duff, Nostalgia Country Tour. Love that. the people like us. And I like how we say nostalgia for something that was 10 years ago.
Starting point is 01:07:13 Yeah, no, but and for people like us, I mean like millennials who like aren't really consuming that much new music, like a little bit, sure. But like we just want to hear our favorite songs and like rock out. 100%. I just want to rock out. And that's all we've ever wanted. It's true. I've been consistent in that. No that. 100%. No that. That's, that's all on that. Well, those are the fast five stories. We still have dear toaster. So before we dive in, let me just remind you that dear toasters. Our first one is I actually think like a very real thing for a lot of
Starting point is 01:13:09 people going on right now, which is why I chose it. Okay. Hi, Swirlies. I'm so happy you're back. My friend and I got dinner the other night and the Lindsay Clancy trial got brought up. She was very pro-Linsey. She thinks that Lindsay's victim and basically like God's gift to this earth. No, she didn't say that.
Starting point is 01:13:24 No, no, but that's how this girl interpreted it. Okay. That like she's, you know, going through something that so many women go through and like, you know. I like Claudia. Right. I'm so firmly against this. She talked down to me because she works in an OBGYN, in an OBGYN an office and I do not and I just left our dinner feeling really gross. I saw her again this past
Starting point is 01:13:42 weekend due to a mutual group of friends being in town and I asked to not discuss it with her. She brought it up and I truly am not sure how I can maintain being friends with someone who supports a literal psychopath. Do I just blow it off or can I be done with being her friend because I don't like her anyways? Minus that there's a lot of history there. Well you don't like her anyways. So don't be friends with someone that you don't like. Now let's take. Well yes and I actually also think. I don't know if you saw, like, there was like a couple of news story, like a man leaves his wife for her take on Lindsay Clancy. Like, I actually think, more often than not, I'm not the type of person who believes that like people with different political differences can't be friends
Starting point is 01:14:18 or even married, although I do think that's very complicated. Like, I don't like to be that type of person. Like, I do think that human beings can and should work through most things. Now, I have experienced this too where it's like, I actually find myself like shifting opinions of what I think of people based on their Lindsay Clancy take, like genuinely. And I can't help it. I think it's such a layered issue and it's so, it's so dark that like, yeah, I can't help myself, but I actually think that you should not be friends with this girl. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:50 And I think maybe she, her friend who agrees with her and be telling the same thing about you. Like, I actually think like if you disagree with somebody on this like fundamentally, it really is not a match, friendship or otherwise. Yeah. I think that there are a couple issues, not every issue. but there are a couple things, at least for me, that are like a true test. If you don't agree with someone on.
Starting point is 01:15:10 That are a true test of like if we could see eye to eye about most things. Right. And for me, this would be one of them. If I had a friend who, you know, who very much, very strongly, to the point that she couldn't not talk about it because you asked her, like the right thing to do is be like, let's not talk about it. We disagree. Right.
Starting point is 01:15:28 It's uncomfortable. But the fact that you said that and she still's talking about it. So if I had a friend that could not stop talking about it, and that was her, in my opinion, awful take, wrong take, evil take. That's it for me. I'm out. Yeah, I think that this is an exceptional circumstance because I really don't. I think a lot of people automatically are like, oh, well, you can't be friends with that person.
Starting point is 01:15:52 They're hateful. It's like, well, no, they just have a different opinion than you. Like, calm down. I think that this is one of a few issues that at least for me personally, and this is not universal, but I think if you're feeling like you can't be friends with this person, like you probably are my type of person. Like I think, especially if you sound like you have reasons to get rid of her anyway, outside of this.
Starting point is 01:16:11 I'm okay. I'm okay with this friendship ending. Yeah. And if it's so like core to her personality, like some people like sometimes an issue or a political thing happens and they just make it their personality. And that's that. And no, I can't be. And that's also just annoying.
Starting point is 01:16:25 And that's also just annoying. So like if that's who you are now, not my kind of person. are you following juror 11 the lone rural juror like and all the information that's coming out about him what's all the information so one of the jurors went on Gayle King CBS
Starting point is 01:16:43 I saw this and Gayle was like asking a lot of questions about like the socioeconomic backgrounds the racial backgrounds like how many men how many women how many black how many white and they eventually like the woman wasn't offering up the information until Gail like sort of figured it out herself and she said there was only one person of color and it was a man.
Starting point is 01:17:00 And Gail was like, wait, is the holdout juror a person of color? And the female juror was like, yes. And Gail said she needed to sit with that. And that sort of like took the internet by storm. I guess like people weren't expecting that. Not that it makes a difference. And then this local NBC station in Boston, like figure, oh, by the way, I had said last weekend I do want to make a correction that a picture of the loan juror got leaked.
Starting point is 01:17:23 The picture I saw was of a white man. So obviously, like, that leak was fake. Okay. People had not figured out who it was. NBC, honestly, the juror should sue NBC. His identity has not been revealed yet, but they combed through court documents
Starting point is 01:17:37 and found that he has a criminal record. He owes, like, a bunch of back rent. And then there was, like, a... He was, like, the police got called on him for, like, a domestic violence dispute with his wife, who's now his ex-wife. And so, like, now, like, obviously, we have to make the lone juror into...
Starting point is 01:17:53 Like, they hate him and he's a criminal. But all this information is getting leaked about him. And it's like, why would anyone want to be a juror? Like, literally ever. Well, you have to be. And nobody actually wants to be. It's the funny thing. No, but like, you're not, the one thing that being a juror had for you was like you would maintain your privacy.
Starting point is 01:18:12 Right? And it's like, and that was something I feel that everybody really respected. Unless the person wanted to go on TV and there have been a bunch of the women going on TV. I think it's so crazy that like all this information about the guy, even though his name and identity have not been revealed, all this like sort of leading details and information. about him have been leaked and they're being reported like everywhere. Yeah, including his race. Well, yes, his race. But I guess it's like on the other juror to share.
Starting point is 01:18:39 I don't know if she did anything wrong. I don't think she did anything wrong. And I think those are like fair questions. And honestly, maybe it's not fair in the grand scheme of things. But given that this case has garnered so much national attention. Like I actually, I think that fact is sort of like put people in a tailspin. Yes. They didn't know like Gail's King said she needed to sit with that.
Starting point is 01:18:58 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I think. I also heard he might be gay. I don't know if that's true, but people are just, like, obsessed with, like, these facts. They said he was an older gentleman. Yeah, I think that I may be strong for me. I think it's interesting.
Starting point is 01:19:16 Yeah, I do too, but I, like, feel bad. Like, unless you're, a lot of them, you know, left the courthouse and called up TMZ. Like, a lot of them want this. And I can imagine not wanting to. And when we said, like, this person obviously could go and tell their story or sell their story or whatever. But like if it is like an older person,
Starting point is 01:19:32 they're probably not interested. They just sat on the jury and they came up with the decision that they thought was best. And because maybe it was like an older person, they couldn't really be swayed by what people were telling them and all these like women yelling at him. Like, well, I just think it's funny that like now we know he has like a allegation of domestic violence against him.
Starting point is 01:19:50 Like everybody's so aghast. But like Lindsay Clancy literally strangled for three kids. Like what are we talking about? Where's the gasness? And also all of that would have come up in jury selection, right? You have to. Well, so that's also a discussion is like a lot. I think if you have a criminal record,
Starting point is 01:20:02 sometimes you're not allowed to be on a jury. So I don't know how that information. Well, they might. They might. I think you have to go to jury dirty. You have to try and serve. That's everybody's like civic duty. But if you have a criminal record and you say that and then you'll be excused because they
Starting point is 01:20:16 don't want something like that. But I'm sure he disclosed that information and he was still chosen. Right. And also they can look up that information too. Like truly a thankless job. I would never want to be on a jury. Like for real. I'm going to say next, like, this has cured me.
Starting point is 01:20:30 Sometimes I'm like, you know what, I could do it. This, I feel, has really cured me. I'm just going to go in, like, next time I got for jury duty and say the most insane shit ever. You don't really have to because you're the public nature of my job. The facts of your life being like a young working mother. Like, the last time I did jury duty, I was like, you know what? Like, I guess I could be a juror. I mean, always say I'd be a really good juror.
Starting point is 01:20:54 We always say that. So I was like going along. And then I'm like, I'm sorry. I can't actually miss work and I have like, I think I have one child at that, like, I actually can't. Yeah, like I actually can't. Yeah, like I actually can't. Yeah, like a lot of times if you, if you take care of like an elderly relative, you can't, yeah, no, 100%. If you're like the provider and you have to go to work, there are people who actually can't give in the facts of their life. The requirements of the job, too. For you, you don't even have to start saying crazy.
Starting point is 01:21:27 stuff. Well, I'll still say it. Sure. You are literally, you would never. Maybe they'll put something on my file say never let this bitch in here again. You would literally never. I know you. You're turdy shy. I am. You would be so, you would be so shy at jury duty. I'd end up being the foreman. That's where my, my shyness comes out. Jury duty. I can't even be like, I can't. I have to wait for them to tell me I can't. Yeah. All right. Next up. Hey Jackson Claude. I never thought I'd have an interesting enough problem to send in, but here we are. I'm 23 years old and I live in New York. I'm currently a grad student. I'm a nanny for an affluent family.
Starting point is 01:22:01 I am with the family minimum three nights a week. It's two girls. The parents are both married and they both work. Dad works from home so I typically see him around the apartment and he's almost always wearing AirPods. The parents are both married like to each other? Hmm, the parents are both married and work. I'm going to assume they're divorced.
Starting point is 01:22:21 Married to each other. Okay. Like she just sounds weird. The dad works from home. I typically see him around the apartment. He's almost always wearing AirPods and very locked into his computer. computer. Neither one of us have ever paid much attention to each other. Like most girls my age in New York, I am on Hinge, and I got home from work the other day and was mindlessly scrolling, and I saw that the dad had liked my profile. I was shook. I went to work the next day and acted like nothing happened. I've not said a word since, but I don't know what to do what to do what to do the right thing. I'm sick. Seriously, not my circus on my hinge. Do I confront the dad? Do I leave it alone? Do I leave it alone? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It sounds like you have a great gig for this. I don't know what agreements. I'm a broke student who really can't afford to lose her job and wants to do the right thing. I'm sick. Like, seriously, not my circus. Sounds like you have a great gig for this. It sounds like you have a great gig for this. It sounds like. It sounds like you rich family and like the unless he like makes an advance a very Paul Giamati in the nanny diaries
Starting point is 01:23:05 unless it goes any further just pretend like you can safely ignore this yeah pretend like you didn't see it ignore until you can like all moral and tell the wife but then it's like you're gonna lose your job no no don't get involved i yeah not your sir not your problem like um that's unfortunate it will probably like escalate in some way he will probably make an advance and you will have If he like grabs, yeah, then you have to go. Yeah, you have to leave. And I guess maybe it's like bad advice to tell you to like wait around and like until that happens.
Starting point is 01:23:36 But it also could not. And I just want to say a lot of times people are catfishes on hinge. It is possible. Like I've heard that happening a lot. And it happens to be the man that she lives with. Yeah. And I guess like your phones obviously know that you're like in close proximity with one another. They think you'd be a great match.
Starting point is 01:23:52 No, it's 100% him. That's nauseating. That's nauseating. That's disgusting. So ignore until you can't, but that'll probably be in a couple of days from now. In the words of Ashley Dupree, like men are pigs, they all cheat. Yeah. That was, she was crazy for that.
Starting point is 01:24:07 But it's like, even if he was like a single dad or whatever, and she was like, horrible. That would be worse, actually. It's like, it's as much about the cheating nature as it is about like the power dynamic and the fact that you guys are in the same house and that he would do something like that. Like, what a, no, it's like a boss. A sicko. But it's worse than a boss because the job is so intimate.
Starting point is 01:24:26 Of course. horse in the home. Like, it's terrible. Our third and final, hey, swirlies, love you guys. I have a relationship question and I need to know if I'm in the wrong. I'm getting married later this year and once we were married, my fiancee wants to combine all of our bank accounts. I told him I wanted each of us to keep one separate one and just put like $50 to $100 a month in it. Nothing crazy for small gifts for each other in case of an emergency or something messy were to happen between us. He's looking at it like I don't trust him and I'm not fully committed. What's the right thing? I just don't think, I'm sorry, I don't want to just give in because I feel really strong.
Starting point is 01:24:57 about this, but he's hurt and he's acting like I think he's going to run away with all of our money. Love you both. Hope you enjoyed your summer break, but I'm so glad you're back. So first of all. Here's the thing. You made a mistake. In what? In telling him.
Starting point is 01:25:08 I need to know everyone's financial situation here. I don't know. I feel like they seem like two like young professionals on the same level because if he had like a lot of money, she would have said that like. And I feel like the what he's saying to and the way he's acting like is like someone that you can't financially trust. I don't know why but like him being like, you trust me. Like I, that's interesting.
Starting point is 01:25:30 And I also think that you should have your own account for like so many reasons, both serious and benign, but like you should be able to do what you want when you want and not have to answer, especially if you are working. And same for him. So like I like the idea of separate and joint personally. I think that's a nice thing to have. And I think that his, especially if you're talking about $50 to $100 a month into a personal account, like I don't know why that would upset him.
Starting point is 01:25:55 Yeah, I didn't see this so much as a red flag. but I guess if you wanted to look in like him being controlling over your money, sure. I saw it more of it was like an immaturity thing. It's like, well, we're getting married. We share everything. I just think every woman should have a separate bank account that honestly her husband doesn't know about.
Starting point is 01:26:09 I think you never should have told him. What the fuck does he need his own bank account for? He doesn't. You do. He doesn't. Make your own account on the side. And it's called a conipple where you like, you know, you just stow away money for a rainy day.
Starting point is 01:26:19 Just in case you should never, like your husband should not know all. That's how you end up in financial abuse, which is a real form of abuse. Like you need a little, count if you ever needed anything, you need to run, you need to go. You have a little something on the side, even if it's a box of cash under your mattress. Yeah, but also like taking away those extreme circumstances just for like your daily
Starting point is 01:26:39 operating. Like you want to have freedom. You don't want to have to explain everything. As long as you are working, that is your money. And you're giving him the option to do the same thing as you. Well, and I think you're wrong for that because I think we always talk about how like men and women are different. And there are situations where men can do something and a woman can't and a woman can do something
Starting point is 01:26:57 And I don't think that a man can have his own bank account. Honestly, I think that's weird and shady and like it never leads to good things. And I think a woman, like, it is integral to her survival that she has one. Yeah. So I think that you should tell him that he's right. He should put all of his money into the joint and that you're right. And you'll keep some out. Yeah, I'd say I wouldn't even tell him.
Starting point is 01:27:18 Yeah. Agreed. Like just drop it and like make your own account on the side. Go to like some. But I just think his insistence. Go to a different, totally different bank, like a rich. Wood savings or whatever. His insistence regarding like what amounts to maximum $100 a month is strange.
Starting point is 01:27:35 Well, yes. I think if you wanted to look deeper into that, like maybe we could find fault and like potentially, you know, controlling of the finances like is a little bit of a red flag. Yeah. I wasn't even thinking controlling, but just like not, I don't know, like just that seems like a very normal situation to have like a small personal account and a joint account. So what is his expectation for like marriage if you can't have any independence? I also don't think that there is a standard way to do finances. I think some people keep everything.
Starting point is 01:28:12 In the modern world, I agree. Yeah, it's not a one size fits all. I think that people just do what works with them for them. Completely agree. But I do think like if I had to prescribe like what I think a healthy situation is for, you know, two working people. Young people. And also, but then it's also like if the woman's not working with, then that's a separate issue that has to be dealt with.
Starting point is 01:28:32 But to have like personal accounts and a joint account, I think is healthy. Yeah, I think so too. I don't think that's like a bad option, but it's not what it used to be. No. But and how did it used to be? Like one account because the woman's not working. There was like a family account that the women really knew nothing about but technically had access to. And I think also men mostly had separate accounts too for like, you know, philandering and things of that nature.
Starting point is 01:28:55 Yeah. And like the family account was like for groceries. I was just watching Mad Men and they got a bank as a client and they were offering this thing called like executive accounts, which is basically just for men to have their own separate accounts
Starting point is 01:29:10 so that women can't access. Two, you know, buy liquor and prostitutes. Yeah. Things of that nature. Also not good. No, also not good. Well, those were your toasters. Thank you to everyone who wrote in.
