Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, Millennials! Welcome back to the Morning Toast. Happy Thursday. We are almost done with the week. It's our second show in our new studio. And it's wonderful because Vachemin is here. He heard us singing about him on yesterday's show. Oh, he's taking his rightful spot on the throne of the Morning Toast studio. Before we start going live, like he's like licking my leg, like humping us, and the second he hears that soothing, delicious sound of Good Morning Millennials, he takes his rightful spot as the king of this castle. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:31 And he just lays. And that's why he's the perfect crunchy angel Dora. Beautiful chairman. Oh, God. We're going to sing that song when we're leaving somewhere. So we can't sing it in front of him. Yeah. He's going to think like it's time to go O-U-T.
Starting point is 00:00:44 I hope everyone had a fabulous week. I'm so looking forward to this week being over. Me too. I can't believe it's Thursday. Since we did our first show yesterday here, it feels like a Tuesday. Yeah. Which is a wonderful feeling because tomorrow's Friday. I know.
Starting point is 00:00:58 It's really all about how you can cheat the week. Do you have any big plans this weekend, sis? I have some little plans. Yeah. But I just plan on reading and being home and just doing my thing. I know. I know we've been at home for so long, but I just want to say, like, I still love it. I don't even know what I love anymore.
Starting point is 00:01:15 That is the mantra of quarantine. Like, I don't even know what I want. Actually, I know what I want to be doing. But as far as being in New York City, like, I don't want to go to a restaurant. I don't want a roachy vibe. Yes vibe yes like I made a pasta primavera last night we were facetiming while I made a primavera and um it was good there was no roaches in it I had um chicken fingers for dinner um in the air fryer so it was like totally healthy and delicious and I'm so pleased with my decision and then I had some ices. I ate like a real six-year-old at the country club meal yesterday.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Like chicken fingers and lemon ices. That sounds delicious. And what did THEO have for dinner? He had the usual Royal Canin. Only the finest. The low-fat gastrointestinal kind. Because he is, you know, a predisposition to heart conditions. It's part of his breed.
Starting point is 00:02:00 He's so cute. I'm so happy he's back. Like there was a time when I was spending every day with him.. Like there was a time when I was spending every day with him. And then there was a time when I was spending no days with him. We got a lot of comments on our YouTube that people were so excited. We were back in studio and the quality is so fabulous. And now I'm just like worried because I didn't shave my legs. And like, is the quality too good?
Starting point is 00:02:18 Um, no, I don't see any hairs. You look good to me. Oh my God. That is so sweet. Thank you so much. I mean, I watched, I guess I got so comfortable doing zoom from my house that like when I went on yesterday's episode like I just looked like a like an actual piece of cardboard like I was so wide and like it was just so bad so now I'm like so aware of my body and everyone gave me shit they were like you're wearing a sweater and jeans in
Starting point is 00:02:38 90 degree weather and it's like yeah it's called being self-conscious like leave me alone it's called being in quarantine there's no such thing as weather so now I've been shamed into showing more skin wow yeah well I'm I can't I'm not complaining oh thank you I'm not complaining we have a fabulous show for you guys today of course I sound like a guy on the news who's like I am not complaining like the weather guy Ernie oh a little skin today I'm not complaining um We have a fabulous show for you guys today. Of course, we are going to deliver the Fast Five. There's no TV recap this week. So like, okay. But I did watch.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Bravo was just being so kind to me yesterday. And they were playing like three-year-old seasons of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, like Dorit and Teddy's first seasons. And it was so enjoyable. It was just like such a good time to be a Housewives fan. And then they did one of those Watch with the Housewives, but they had Luann and Sonia watching an episode of Beverly Hills where the girls from Beverly Hills were in New York oh and it was hysterical like Sonia Morgan
Starting point is 00:03:34 is just like made for tv she kept calling Dorit Dorit oh my god and she like who's that girl oh don't mess with LVP pat the puss like Like she knew a little. And it was just so enjoyable. Like they were being so funny. And it was actually a great concept for a show. That is. Outside of quarantine. Yeah. I really enjoyed it. It's like the people's couch.
Starting point is 00:03:52 But with. Interesting people. With the people themselves. Yeah. Talking about the other people. Oh and also you know what I found out recently. Did you know that Destiny from Shaws of Sunset. And her sister were on the people's couch.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Yes I did know that actually. Fascinating. I think you knew that. But it's probably fresh news for you and it'll be fresh again in three months. Also about the people's couch. Um, I forgot what I was going to say, but speaking of me forgetting things, I had a, another therapy session yesterday and I was telling her like about my memory and she really thinks that it's like something I'm doing subconsciously. Like selective. Yeah. Like to bury memories from my past or something. Wow.
Starting point is 00:04:30 That's, Claudia, that's deep. I know. It was really profound. I didn't want to hear it, you know? No, of course not. No, doctor. I just have bad memory. No. So they could come back to you.
Starting point is 00:04:36 You could bring them back. Bring them back. Yeah. No, I need to see some sort of like hallucinogenesis. Like dreams. Yeah. Ooh, you are getting sleepy. It's pretty spooky stuff.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Pretty spooky. Speaking of spooky stuff, we also have a KMN segment today. But it's actually not so mindless, so I'm really looking forward to getting into that. Me too. Also, yesterday we did a Patreon episode, general Q&A.
Starting point is 00:04:59 People asked us a ton of questions. We were like feeling particularly honest. And we were feeling particularly raw. We were. And we talked and we were feeling particularly raw we were and we talked about the new studio why we move studios it's like not that uh the tea's not that hot but it was interesting um so head on over to patreon.com slash the morning toast if you want to hear that full story along with other tidbits about how we're doing spoiler alert it's not well no not well bitch ask me how i'm doing, bitch. But we're entering phase two.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I'm feeling, back in the studio, like yesterday I felt like my life had purpose. I completely agree. I'm so glad. It was a new leaf, but then I weighed myself this morning and it's a big old leaf. And so now that's my focus. Okay, well, whatever. You look fine. You look great. It wasn't good. You look great. It wasn't good.
Starting point is 00:05:51 You look great. It wasn't good, but thank you. So should we just like do the damn thing? I think we should get right into it, into the fast side stories that you need to know. Yes, you. Before you wake up and take a bite out of your morning toast. And I'll do it. I promise. Like I will, I will dive in. I always do. I don't make promises that I can't keep. But it's really important to me that I say something, if you'll allow me, the floor. Sure. Yes. I'm all about like open dialogue. Please. It's really important to me that I let everyone know that today's episode is brought to you by Noom.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Getting in shape doesn't have to be about losing a specific amount of weight or a magic number on the scale. It's about building healthier habits and feeling better about yourself. If fitting into that favorite pair of jeans is your goal, great. But there are more reasons why you might want to practice self-care and every person is different. For me, when I want to lose weight, it's always about like just feeling better physically because when I do gain weight, like I feel very fatigued and very tired all the time, which makes sense. Okay, first story. You ready for it? I've literally never been so ready for anything in my entire fucking life. Caitlyn Jenner goes golfing with Bachelor Peter Weber and his family. In today's most random headlines
Starting point is 00:08:28 of the day. Ever. Caitlyn Jenner and Peter Weber are getting competitive. The 70-year-old reality star took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a pic of herself with the former Bachelor star and his dad, Peter Weber Sr., and his brother, Jack Weber. The group was all smiles and a selfie after
Starting point is 00:08:44 spending the day on the golf course. Caitlyn and peter senior walked away from the game victorious with the former showing off one dollar prize in the picture i just have to say like playing for one dollar is like only a thing rich people do like ironically it's so annoying like play for real money first of all second of all peter's brother's name is jack we Weber I just feel like that is like I could build a whole like tv show around the name Jack Weber well isn't that the name of a barbecue oh maybe that's why it's Weber barbecue whatever like Jack Weber attorney at law like something about it it's just like a fabulous name yeah it's catchy um so many people sent me this photo on Instagram and I didn't know what I was looking at for like 30 minutes because I didn't recognize his dad or his brother and then like Peter was just in the corner I'm like why do I care about
Starting point is 00:09:27 Caitlyn Jenner going to play golf I'm like she's not wearing a mask very interesting but like I I didn't understand what I was looking at and then I was like what the fuck and Barb the mom was like commenting on it like I just it's killing me deep down to not know how these people got connected yeah I I don't even want to begin to pretend like I know like I know that there was a spotting of like Peter at the same house party as Kylie one time I don't think that translated into Peter playing golf do you think that Caitlyn is like a big fan of The Bachelor maybe but I don't really see that for Caitlyn no not at all like she's too mature yeah so I mean maybe maybe like they all oh actually because Peter is from
Starting point is 00:10:07 California maybe they all just belong to the same country club like maybe the country club set up like reality tv stars has been like session community community in the group yeah and then from there they took it to the links or they're both from the country club and like Peter's dad met Caitlin yes through like a support group for like reality for washed up reality stars yeah it's so confusing i would love to know like the actual truth i'm sure it's not that interesting um how they all got connected i just i think it's worth noting that caitlin has food in her teeth in the photo um a little piece of it looks like bread in between her two front teeth and i just think it was really fucked up
Starting point is 00:10:44 with peter not to like point it out before she posted a photo that he knew was going to be seen by millions of people he does in the background like he didn't know this is all on caitlin she took the photo she posted the photo and she didn't do zoom but you know what she's eating good and like let her live you know when um we were we had the discussion a little while ago like uh when taylor swift released her track list for her album and there was a song called paper rings yeah and we were like the whole concept is like oh I love you so much like I'll marry you with a paper ring like not a diamond which is like only a thing rich people say um to like prove that they're humble that's like the same thing here playing for one
Starting point is 00:11:16 dollar like if Ben plays with his friends they'll each like put in like a hundred dollars so like you make it interesting you're working towards something like winning has meaning besides just the arbitrary win and this is just like like I don't know why the out of all of this the thing that bothers me the most is that they played for one dollar it's like everyone on this course is rich like they obviously belong to a rich country club like let's play for some money yeah yeah i wonder what the dollar symbolizes maybe we'll get some answers you know yeah a bit of a follow-up it's just such like a quirky rich thing to do and it like bothers me so much. Yeah. That would bother you.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Yeah. No. It doesn't not bother me. No. It bothers me so much. Oh. Hey Theodore. I think it bothers Theo too.
Starting point is 00:11:51 Yeah. He looks very disturbed. He is just alert. Disturbed. Disturbed. Whoever said that orange was the new black is seriously disturbed. Orange is the new pink. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Oh my God. Are you ready for the next color? For the next color? I thought you said the next Taylor. Because I was talking about colors. Yes, I'm ready. Okay. Jenny Slate and Kristen Bell's animated TV roles
Starting point is 00:12:10 will be recast with black or mixed race actors. I saw this. Very interesting. Big Mouth's Jenny Slate and Central Park's Kristen Bell are stepping down from their roles on the animated series, which will both recast the characters with a black or mixed race actor. Jenny Slate revealed the news on Wednesday, explaining that she, a white woman, can no longer play the role of Missy,
Starting point is 00:12:30 a biracial character on the animated Netflix series created by Nick Kroll. She said she has come to the decision today that I can no longer play the character of Missy on the animated TV show Big Mouth. At the start of the show, I reasoned with myself that it was permissible for me to play Missy because her mom is Jewish and white as as am I. But Missy is also black and black characters on an animated show should be played by black people.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Yeah, no, I think this is very noble. I do understand why she took the part. Like if the character is half Jewish, like it kind of makes sense. But I'm curious. I want to talk about the Kristen Bell of it all. She played a black character so she um voice playing Molly Tillerman who's mixed race on the Apple TV plus series Central Park oh so this is a different show yes okay okay okay yeah Ben loves Big Mouth so I'm only familiar with Big
Starting point is 00:13:18 Mouth oh he tried to get me to watch it once and like I have such a hard time as an adult like watching adult cartoons and I know that there's like a huge demographic for it and there are some really funny like family guy stuff but like between like South Park and I'm not like shitting on them they're fabulous programming but like I as an adult like I cannot watch cartoons like I just can't and you know what like you can't consume everything and not everything is made for you and so if you're not going to do cartoons like that's fine but you know what's weird about that is that like I am probably the biggest fan of the movie Ted and that's really the same it's Seth MacFarlane it's the same type of humor 100% I thought you were gonna say that somehow as a cartoon because it is because he's a bear but the whole movie is set in real life
Starting point is 00:13:58 Boston but I just find it interesting that like that's probably my favorite movie and I've never seen any of other like Seth MacFarlane's other work. Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, same for me. So it makes sense to me. So Jenny Slate, like I know she's, we talk about her all the time because she dated Chris Pine Cones or. And because she's the wife of the Polka King. Well, so that's what I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Like, I'm sure she's like renowned in her field for many things. Like she's very successful. But in my mind, she will never not be Jack Black's wife in the Pol polka king and did we ever assign the polka king as a toast movie of the week no and we wouldn't do that to you guys because it was like an insane movie oh yeah i loved it no we like i don't know i daddy loves you it was just a very strange premise crazy it's the craziest story i ever heard but what's crazy about it It was so crazy. It's the craziest story I ever heard. But what's crazy about it is that it's true. It's the craziest.
Starting point is 00:14:49 If you're interested, like. It's about, it's honestly could have been an episode of American Greed. It's about like a small-ish Ponzi scheme. Yeah. That happened in the Northeast about this Polish guy who like came to America and like literally just started taking old people's money and like investing it in his polka band. But he was a polka singer with a polka band. Remember they band remember they had the bear wait they was like investing in more bear costumes at
Starting point is 00:15:09 one point got nominated for a grammy in like the polka category and they went to the grammys and they were snubbed of course but like just the fact honestly the movie's so good because the fact that this actually happened like in our country like in recent history is the craziest thing of all time yeah jb smooth was in it like it was actually really star-studded yeah if you like if this sounds interesting to you watch it but it's not mandatory viewing because a lot of you will probably be like what the fuck am i watching it's not mandatory viewing because we saw it and we thought it was like fabulous and then we made our husbands watch it when we were on vacation in turks and cagos right and we thought they would love it because they love jack black and they're just weird like together they're just weird and
Starting point is 00:15:43 we thought they would like it and like they never forgave us for taking up those two hours of their life. And so we wouldn't do that to you guys. But some of you guys might really like it. And it was a fabulous movie. It's just insane that it happened. So like that's what really carries the movie. Of course. Like if it wasn't a true story it wouldn't be interesting.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Yeah. Because it would be like this could never happen. Ever. So anyways Jenny Slate. Maybe she'll be in the Polka King sequel oh I very much looking forward to him when he gets out of jail didn't he go to jail oh yeah okay well we'll spoil it another time yeah um but anyways I think that this is the right decision uh for both of them and I look forward to seeing who they cast not that I watch these shows but you never know yeah I feel like I would love to seeing who they cast. Not that I watch these shows, but you never know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:27 I feel like I would love to do some voiceover work. Of course. That's everyone's dream job. It's the easiest paycheck of all time. Yeah. All you have to do is talk. Right. And also, it's not just a paycheck. If you get into the right animated feature, wow.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Right. So it's all the perks of podcasting. No makeup, but just way more money because you're working for like Pixar. Right. I could just see me in the booth, you know, like with a fountain. Actually, I wouldn't have fountain soda. It creates carbonation and, you know, hurts my vocal cords. Maybe your character would be a burpee character.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Oh my God. I would be like the 7-Eleven junkie who like never leaves the fountain soda station. And oh, I would, you know, I would work at 7-Eleven and I would like always be like chomping on my soda. Wow, this story is just writing itself right exactly okay are you ready for our next story some people we've been talking about this week who are just some of our faves and they're being sweet okay who are we talking about so it's some sweet news is it Gabrielle Union no we've been talking about her so much we haven't it's Lauren Bushnell who penned a tribute to her
Starting point is 00:17:22 husband Chris Lane as she reveals they've been praying to start a family it was it put every other instagram caption ever created to shame it was the sweetest thing i'd ever seen in my life and i fucking love her and i stand and i ship 1000 otp for the rest of my life 100 we don't usually make instagram caption stories here at the morning toast but we actually have a rule not to because it's so insane. No, our rule is not to make Instagram comments stories because it's like just a comment, not a story. But this caption in particular just struck a chord. So I'm going to share it with you guys if you don't mind. And I think it was kind of in response to like why she didn't post about Ben's season, like where she's at in her life.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Yeah. So she said, husband appreciation post we got engaged about a year ago and y'all I don't know what I did to deserve this man about to get personal but I am very excited to start a family and get asked when we are having kids all the time but it just hasn't happened yet she went on to share how she opened up to Chris her husband about expanding their family she said when I was talking about it with Chris he said well have you, have you prayed about it? I said, well, yes. And he responded, have you really prayed hard about it? If that's what we really want, pray
Starting point is 00:18:30 and know it will happen in God's time if it's what he wants for us. I'll pray with you. As I write this now, I literally have tears streaming down my face because I cannot imagine living without you, Chris Lane. I'm so lucky I get to wake up next to you every morning. Lucky I get to pray next to you
Starting point is 00:18:43 and I'm continually humbled by your heart of gold. Before we dive into like the preciousness that is this, I just need to cut out and say like, we need to stop asking like married and engaged people like when they're having children. It is the most disrespectful question. Like you never know. Like what if, you know, the person you're asking
Starting point is 00:19:00 has been trying and like having a hard time and like you're just fucking digging the knife in. Like let's stop fucking asking that question. it is inappropriate and it's none of your fucking business okay sorry now back to the sweetness I just this caption is it's so beautiful it's so sweet yeah that's beautiful and I feel like it's a real window into their relationship and you know they share a lot on social media but like you really never know like what is going on in a relationship and I just feel like this was just everything I needed to know about them like You know, they share a lot on social media, but like you really never know like what is going on in a relationship. And I just feel like this was just everything I needed to know about them.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Like they're religious. They're so in love. I mean, the way their relationship came about was so interesting because she was just like I think hired to do or like a friend connected them to film. A music video. One of his music videos in the Bahamas. And everyone was like, are they dating? Are they dating? And I think we spoke about it like on the morning breath. And texted me and she was like we're not dating I'm like okay
Starting point is 00:19:48 so I got the scoop and then literally a month later I was like talking to her I'm like what's up she's like oh my god I'm getting married I love him so much and I'm like what I'm like the last time we spoke you said you weren't even dating she's like no like literally this is the man I'm gonna marry I'm like this bitch is crazy but she was right yeah when you know you know when you know you know and this was just sweet. I love them so much. And I really like, there are very few people in this world like I truly only want good things for. And these are two of them.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Like, I just love them. Agreed. Okay, next story is kind of sad. So shifting gears to a sad gear. U.S. Paralympian Angela Madsen, have you seen this story? No. Died at 60 after an ocean rowing accident. U.S. Paralympian Angela Madsen passed away when she was attempting to row from L.A. to Hawaii.
Starting point is 00:20:31 So this is a really sad story. She was rowing from across the Pacific Ocean. From where to where? L.A. to Hawaii at 60 years old. Oh my God, that's far. And her wife, Deborah, confirmed the news in a personal Facebook post saying, with extreme sadness, I must announce that Angela Madsen will not complete her solo road to Hawaii. I received her last text Saturday night.
Starting point is 00:20:51 Sunday, she was not responding to my text messages. When I checked the main message box, she had not returned any messages. When I looked at the tracking, it did not appear that she was rowing the boat, but rather that it was drifting. Knowing she was planning to enter the water to fix her hardware to deploy the power anchor from the bow, I was concerned she did not text when she got back on the boat. She was about as far from any land as she could get, and the communication can be a challenge. I was hopeful, but still had a feeling of heaviness in my chest. Wow. So what was the point of this journey? Like, was it to, like, break a record? Perhaps. Or just, like, this is her craft. To do it. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Yeah. Wow. Oh my god, that's so craft. To do it. That's crazy. Yeah. Wow. Oh my God. That's so sad. How do you communicate with someone who's in the middle of the ocean? I guess she had her phone. Maybe she has like. She said she checked the message box. The inbox.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Like the voicemail? I don't know. Maybe they were using some chat app or something. Wow. That's so sad. Really sad story. What an amazing woman. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:40 So that's why I wanted to highlight it today. Wow. That's like so sad. I know. But I could flip with some other amazing woman news that's why I wanted to highlight it. Totally. Wow. That's like so sad. I know. But I could I could flip with some other amazing woman news that's positive. Sure. NASA names. Do you see this?
Starting point is 00:21:51 Oh, my God. Of course I saw this. Like, it's just everything. Fabulous news. Fabulousness all around. This situation oozes fabulousness. NASA names D.C. headquarters after its first black woman engineer, hidden figure Mary Jackson. So since we've all seen hidden figures at this point, Mary Jackson was played by Janelle MonĂ¡e.
Starting point is 00:22:09 And NASA plans to immortalize her, one of their trailblazing alums, by naming Washington, D.C.'s headquarter complex after her. Wow. This is just incredible. Can I say something controversial, though? It's such, such good news. But I can't help but wonder if they would have done this if that movie hadn't been made. Because they were the hidden figures.
Starting point is 00:22:35 NASA was responsible. NASA, the corporation, was responsible for hiding these stories. And I don't think as many people would have known about it. I know Katherine Johnson wrote a book. But it became this national sensation with the book and and the movie but it's like I don't know part of me is like this is a little late yes I see how you could see it that way I'm choosing to see the positive here also buildings are named after people all the time and we don't talk about it on the show because they're not named after people who are starring in movies yeah so there's a chance that they would have done this anyway and we just wouldn't have understood the significance is mary jackson
Starting point is 00:23:12 still alive um i'm i don't i don't know i don't think so because i'm just curious like if she um is able to see like the fruits of her labor i know know. No, she's, okay, she's dead. So it's like, oh, wouldn't it have been nice for them to do this, you know, when she was alive? Right. And she could like finally get the respect
Starting point is 00:23:31 she fucking deserves. Well, now her legacy lives on forever. Forever, forever and ever. I think this is fabulous news. I just, you know me, I'm always so cynical. Yes, of course.
Starting point is 00:23:39 But I just think it was worth noting. It's worth noting. And if you haven't watched Hidden Figures yet, you guys are missing out on the film of a lifetime well if you're watching the show you obviously participate in toast but like maybe they like got maybe they push back their homework and like they haven't delivered yet speaking of homework we decided to just change up toast movie of the week i wanted
Starting point is 00:23:57 to tell everyone we're assigning it on mondays and we're going to start recapping it on mondays because i really like watching them on sundays yeah and we've been recapping them on mondays and that way everyone gets more time to watch it and I think that makes more sense. Monday to Monday. So if you're ever looking for a recap it's on a Monday. If you're ever looking for the new assignment it is also on a Monday. Great. Now it's time for one of my favorite segments ever created and it's going to be a little a little crazy today. Is it some Kelly's mindless news? Like the 4th of July. Whenever you're around. It is.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Because it's actually not so mindless, Jackie. And Kelly's, you know, kind of joining our crew. Because she's found herself in a little bit of a controversy. Is it Kelly's controversial news? It's Kelly's, you know, mysterious news. Because according to Good Housekeeping. Still KMN. According to Good Housekeeping, where is kelly rippa fans are asking a lot of questions about the live co-host fans of live with kelly and ryan routinely routinely start their day off with co-host
Starting point is 00:24:55 kelly rippa and ryan seagrass seagrass i'm sorry i'm like having a stroke when the coronavirus pandemic prompted shutdowns and quarantining in march the abc stars reassured fans that the show would go on even if it meant filming remotely. Since then, the pair has been doing just that, though it hasn't always been clear where Kelly is filming from. In case you're curious about Kelly's whereabouts, here's what we found. Where is Kelly Ripa filming live with Kelly and Ryan? In late May, news broke that Kelly, her husband, Mark Consuelos, and their three children were quarantining in the Caribbean instead of New York City. So she was a little, like, shady about not mentioning that for a while.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Right, and we, that was actually what spurned Kelly's Mindless News because I reported that as Mindful News, and then you were like, there's always these stories about Kelly Ripa. Now it's coming full circle. The story goes that the family was enjoying a vacation when they were suddenly instructed to shelter in place. And that's exactly what they did, though the talk show host chose not to disclose this information to the viewers
Starting point is 00:25:46 until a fellow ABC employee brought the story to light. I'm telling you, there's tea here. We had planned a trip for our family, Kelly said, and we arrived three days later, the entire world changed. Really, I mean, everything shut down, the government shut down, our country shut down. I hate to use the word stuck, but we were. So we decided to stay where we were.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Kelly went on to explain that she and Ryan decided to continue filming live with Kelly and Ryan in the hopes that it would bring some normalcy to their lives during an unprecedented time. I think it's been a great benefit to have each other, to have our viewing audience. So, is Kelly Ripa still in the Caribbean or back in NYC? It's a fabulous question. Now, it appears that Kelly is back in New York. Over Father's Day weekend hello magazine noticed that she posted footage of mark wearing a mask and walking around the big apple though we can't be 100 certain the social media post seems to be a sign that the couple has finally returned to their home after being away for three months regardless of her location kelly intends to
Starting point is 00:26:37 enjoy her summer of course some mindlessness which includes having a fun and safe celebration for her mom's birthday when ryan asked what the plan was she said i don't know probably just going to hang out in the driveway if i know my mom she doesn't really want to talk about it or address it in any big way so it's going to be a big driveway hang maybe look at her through the glass so what this article is saying is that you know kelly ripa's just like us she's a little shady she's a little shady to see it honestly um i feel actually maybe like all this mindless news was like a distraction from the fact. That like her whereabouts were slightly unknown. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:11 I mean, I feel actually in the real world, like I feel two ways about this. Like Kelly Ripa is a celebrity, but she doesn't have this like, we don't have this entitlement to like know where she is at all times. Like that's her fucking business. She's with her family. But also at the same time, like girlfriend, you do an everyday show. Like where are you? Yeah. Where are you at? But it's like at the at the same time sorry i have so many feelings about this actually people are just especially in the quarantine like
Starting point is 00:27:31 so quick to judge all your decisions like what you do with your family like you left the house you didn't do this and so it's like of course she doesn't want to put her and her family in the center of that so actually you know i guess you respect her being shady yeah but it i mean she found a way to go three months in the Caribbean making it look like a New York City apartment somehow so good for her yeah I wonder what the tea is with the ABC staffer who like exposed her yeah after she was not having her no because she's also like yeah no I mean when I think when you think of Kelly Ripa what do you think of Kelly's mindless news well okay now okay but then if I think deeper and harder, I think about like Michael Strahan.
Starting point is 00:28:08 And like how she acted in such a disgraceful way. Yeah. Like literally she makes like $30 million a year and she just decided not to show up for work for an entire week because her co-host decided to get a better job. Like good for fucking Michael Strahan. Michael Strahan is the definition of like being funny, nice, personable, and good at your job. Like gets you really far. Like, no, it's like he did such a great job on Kelly and and he got a better
Starting point is 00:28:30 job like what we should not encourage people to get promotions yeah and I know she was like upset about the way that he told her but I just think like not that I was that's my least favorite thing like ever when people get upset like not about like what the news itself even though like that's really what you're fucking upset about it's like how you did it that you said it it's the way that you told me how you told me I'm like it the news is the news no and like what's bothering you let's be real is the news like of course I mean I don't get me wrong like I do that all the time I'm like it's not that you said it it's like how you said it yeah no I do not subscribe it's like you should have you should have texted yeah you know I love Kelly's mindless news it's like some of my favorite fodder I hope to never run into her you know yeah good thing we run in very
Starting point is 00:29:10 different circles good thing we can't leave our house oh good thing she's in the Caribbean allegedly right um so that's Kelly's mindless news we have no tv to recap like I hate that our episodes have been so short recently but it's just because we usually we're doing the same thing but we usually have more to talk about because there's so much TV on, whether it's The Bachelor or Housewives. And we'll talk about our lives and fabulous things that we did, but we're not really doing There's none of that. I did start a new book last night.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Actually, two new books, but one that I'll share is Such a Fun Age by Kylie Reid. Yes, also there's a truck coming to take us away. There's a major truck behind us. But I heard that everyone was really excited about all the sounds yesterday and by everyone I mean like one person um so just it's exciting it just means that life is here you guys like life is resumed I can't get upset about the fact that there's like major construction because they haven't been able to construct for three months no but like literally the biggest truck like an actual yacht just drove by like it was so loud like there's a ship coming in what book did
Starting point is 00:30:03 you start it's called such a Fun Age by Kylie Reid. A lot of people, I think it was a Reese's Book Club pick. So, you know, it's really good. And I think a lot of people have already read it. But I just started it last night. I love the way that it's written. It's like such a great story already. So I'm looking forward to it.
Starting point is 00:30:18 And we're doing the Redheads next week. So I'll recap all of the books that I read. What's the Redheads book for this month? Maya Angelou. Oh, right. Oh my God. You know, I started it. It's so hard to keep up with books I don't know how you guys do it I literally don't even know where the book is now. I took it. Oh okay that's why. So that's your excuse I did snag it from her. So why the cage I know why the cage word sings by Maya Angelou and um there's also tons of new episodes of TNN shows. Yes. Margaret Josephs
Starting point is 00:30:41 and her co-host Lexi have been fucking churning out in quarantine video podcast episodes and they move to twice a week so you can watch it on YouTube or you can listen to it anywhere you get your podcast. They're having like premium guest conversation. They had Carson Kressling. Yeah they're like talking to producers like they're flipping the table.
