Starting point is 00:00:09 It's Jackson, Claude and every show the fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off, Swirley. It's the Toast. I sound amazing. Welcome back to The Toast. Happy Monday. Mondarries post-Super Bowl Monday. I'm here with Olivia Oshry, aka Troutskin. Totally. And by the way, can we just do one for old time's sake? Like, good.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Like, I was waiting for that, you know? You know, times have changed around here. No, I know, but it's so nostalgic for me, you know? For sure. Do you want to hit them with the good? Yeah, ready. One. Together or just you?
Starting point is 00:00:49 Together, of course. I'm by myself, embarrassing. Ready? One, two, three. Good morning, millennials. Hi, everyone. Hi, Troutskin. Welcome to the Toad.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Thank you so much for having me. This is my favorite place on Earth, you know? Olivia's filling in for Claudia today. Claudia had something come up this morning and I was like, Trout, you're up. Today is such an exciting day of toast because we have Super Bowl. Recap. And you're a great girlie to have for our Super Bowl post-show recap because you're the marketer. Yeah, I am. And you like dabble in football. I dabble. You dabble. You have knowledge.
Starting point is 00:01:24 I have knowledge. I have knowledge. Yeah. And we all watched Super Bowl together at my house last night. You did an amazing job. It was a love, well, it was a lovely day. We had a great day. Well, okay, first of all, I just want to say the Super Bowl being at 6.30 p.m. Like, never again, please. It was so not it. I I expected that it would be like late afternoon. So I was like, oh, we're going to be home all day, like preparing for the Super Bowl. The kids will be home. Like, so I got a bouncy house for the backyard so that they could bounce all afternoon and we could like watch the game and they could be bouncing and it would be like so much fun.
Starting point is 00:01:55 But like the bouncy house left by the time the game actually started. But it was like inadvertently worked out, you know? It did work out. And plus the kids love to watch football. So it did work out. But when I thought to have like a bouncy house, it was because I thought we would be watching football like all day, which didn't happen. We didn't watch football till like what would be.
Starting point is 00:02:12 their bedtime ordinarily. You know what's crazy? It's just like it's wild how big of a difference that one hour makes. Because I feel like normally the Super Bowl starts maybe like closer to 530 and this was starting like 630ish and like that one hour, you know, people call it witching hour. But like for a reason. It was just like we were sort of like waiting for the game to start and it was like, do you eat dinner? But like you should wait. But we've also been eating all day. Like a hundred percent. So like what's dinner even? It was just I really feel like for the parents it was not mama friendly. It was the time. And that's what I, actually that was a big thing that I wanted to talk about.
Starting point is 00:02:44 And I saw like other mamas saying this as well. So I don't even think we're just like sharing our own experience. And the game was on in my house like the entire time. We had a Super Bowl watching. I wouldn't say it was a party, but a gathering. A gathering. Yeah, but by the way, when you have more kids than adults, it's not going to be a party.
Starting point is 00:03:02 I did not watch one minute of the game until the last quarter when everyone was finally in bed. I had showered. I got in bed and I watched the end of the Super Bowl like by myself. in bed. I was going to say I really didn't watch that much of the game either. Also, the game wasn't interesting enough for people to really, I think, like, dedicate. Like, there wasn't that much going on. The score was so low the whole time. So it was just like, oh, you knew that like, honestly, you could get up and, like, tend to your kid or get a snack or go to the bathroom because, like,
Starting point is 00:03:30 what was even going on? No, like three bath times, three bedtimes all during the course of the Super Bowl. Like, that was my Super Bowl. Bedtime last night was my Super Bowl. A hundred percent. Well, we're going to talk all things Super Bowl, halftime show, ads, openers, Charlie Poo's Charlie, he crushed it, you guys. He really did. He really did. So did Coco Jones. Oh, amazingly beautiful.
Starting point is 00:03:53 We will recap all of that in our stories. Of course, Super Bowl will be first story. So before we get into the stories, which I feel like we'll do in a timely fashion because that's sort of the news of the day. That's like what people want to hear what we have to say. Yeah, but I can't just like scroop over the fact that Trout is in studio.
Starting point is 00:04:07 How are you, dear Trout? Dear Trout is doing so great, my darling. How are you? I'm good. It was really hard for me to like introduce you as Olivia. I'll try it. By the way, I saw like that come out of your mouth like awkwardly, you know? But it's like when your kids call me Olivia. But it's very awkward for me to hear. I'm like, whose name is that? But like people are listening. And if I just like lead with trout, it could be their first day of listening to the toast and they don't know what trout is. It could also be their fifth year and they still don't know that like trout is Olivia. So I had to like address you by your legal name. But it's trout. My legal name. I always come on the toast and I say, and I say, and. And I really mean this when I say it. Like you guys are growing so fast that I feel like every time I come on here, like people don't even know about the other sister, you know? And it is me.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Olivia Trout says, no, but Margo people know, you know. Oh, you think? Because she's like an influencing queen, you know? You think you're like the hidden sister? No, I'm not saying I'm hidden. I'm just saying I think people more times than not, I feel like when people find out like there's another sister, the other. It's like me.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Like, oh, you have another one? Oh, that's so interesting. I don't feel that. way, but that's, you know, like, this is your lived experience. Like, that's your truth. I'm not going to take that one. No, like the real ones now, you know, but as you're growing so fast, as you're growing so fast, people are just like, oh, who's that girl? Oh, yeah. So, who's the fish, you know? This is your first day of toast. Claudia and I are sisters. I think that's always a big shocker. Totally. And we are two out of four sisters. Yep. We are the two middle children, classic. Olivia's
Starting point is 00:05:34 but you are older than Claudia. And I feel like a lot of people don't know that either. Olivia, Jackie, Claudia, and then Margo, who's snitch, aka Satchie. Right. And she's like... And Olivia thinks you all already knew that. I do. And Ben is Claudia's husband. Boy with no job, celebrity chef. Boy with no job and girl. They both have jobs, though. I'm so happy to be here, though, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:58 It's just always such a fun time. It is a fun time. And I haven't co-hosted the toast with you in a while. Since Claudia's maternity leave. I was here. I was here. Claudia and Ben. We did the first ever, like, non-Jackie and Claudia episode, which was incredibly well received. So thank you. We had so much fun that day, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:16 What was that day? Claudia had something and you were on maternity leave. She was sick, maybe? I literally was giving birth that day. She was sick, yes. And I was on maternity leave already. And I think I went to, like, I had my doctor's appointment that morning that, like, eventually put me into the process of labor.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Got it, got it. Yeah, I don't remember what the date was about. Because if I was just on my maternity leave before I gave birth, like, I could have just done the toast, but no, I think I was out of commish. Oh, I remember something about it, actually. Something about it was, it was November, early November. Yeah, that's when all of the stories were about, like, November 3rd, because that was like when Kraft Hines, like came out with some weird, like, and I said something like November 3rd, big day. And everybody read into it and they were like, that was dead, Jackie Adder Baby. And I'm like, no, it's just like November 3rd came up in a
Starting point is 00:07:03 bunch of stories. People think we like leave so many, like, we're Taylor Smith. Like, I mean, I can only speak for myself, I shouldn't say we, like, way too lazy to think about, like, leaving a fucking hint anywhere about anything, you know? Yeah. Just, like, going about living our lives. Yeah, just more so going about living our lives. I think people are just also so accustomed to trying to read into everything thinking it means more than it actually does.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Yeah. When, like, I'm just here to tell you, like, with respect to my life, it means nada. It's like paranoia, I think. And sometimes, like, that we were talking about that when Claudia did mass singer. Yeah. Because, of course, like, people realized that it was Claudia. And but then they also felt like on the one Wednesdays that was the day mass singer was airing and I was doing claudia usually does the ads. But the last few Wednesdays I was doing the ads.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Oh. Without Claudia. And they thought it was because like Claudia couldn't do the ads on days where mass singer was airing. It's seriously not that serious. It was more so she was rushing to a music class. So I just like did them so that she could get out of here earlier. You know what I mean? Of course.
Starting point is 00:07:59 Of course. And that's the thing is like that's why you can't assume because you make an ass out of you and me. Thank you. That's really beautiful. leave you with that. Other than that, it was a beautiful weekend. Olivia took us all to her favorite farmer's market. Yes, I did.
Starting point is 00:08:14 And honestly, everybody really had a great time. They did. You and Ben were thriving. You liked the farmer's market. I feel like sometimes it just like, also you have a new baby, but like it just hasn't always like jived with your schedule, you know? I haven't been to the farmer's market in a while. And I remember when I was going to the farmer's market like more often, like a year ago.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Like when I was forcing you to come with me every weekend? Yeah, I remember I would talk about it a lot on the toast just like, the inner conflict I feel at the farmer's market. And when I was back there this weekend, I felt it again because it's really hard for me to like want to consume things from like people's personal kitchens. By the way, I said that. People I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:54 By the way, do you remember that I said that on an episode of The Toast? It's like if people knew you like back in the day, like you were the girl that like really only ate stuff that was like packaged up and sealed, like you would never like eat something that was like homemade like that you used to be like that and now you're sort of you make everything you know from scratch and whatnot but it's different I still feel like who is this stranger what goes on in their kitchen like it's not you know like it's incredibly fair you know the farmers market they they aren't like regulated right no a lot of them are not and it says it on there like it'll say like
Starting point is 00:09:25 this was made in like somebody's house you know like I bought a jam once and it was so tasty and then I looked at the label and it was like, I actually should look up like the exact verbiage, but it basically said that. Like this is not made, this is not made with any oversight whatsoever, you know? Yeah. And when it's your friend or your family, it's like, oh, well, I trust this person. I've seen them wash their hands. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:46 The thing about the farmer's market is that it is the same vendors week over week over week that I do feel like if somebody had, God forbid, gotten sick or there was an issue. Do you know what I mean? You know what I mean? It would get sick or there would be an issue. Like, I just think it could be yucky and you would never know. it could be but like but your body is handling a fine yeah no no not about getting sick but just about like the yuckiness um but there are many things are yucky you know yes and there are things at
Starting point is 00:10:11 the farmer's market that like like the produce you know produce and the eggs like amazing and that is predominantly what i remember i bought like i bought eggs from farm what are they there like farm fresh eggs the blue eggs yeah i remember i had last year like i bought eggs from the farmer's market i don't know if i ever used them and they just like sat up my sat on my counter staring at me because i was like i don't know what's in these eggs like who is this farmer but that's any Dear farmer. Dear farmer is probably better than like. No, no other eggs have oversight.
Starting point is 00:10:36 But that oversight, I feel like sometimes is actually worse, you know? No, no, that's why. There's one guy at the farmer's market. He has a bakery and he used to have a storefront. And then like now he just does the farmer's market circuit. So I'm like, I feel like your bake goods are like legit because you under, he probably cooks in a commercial kitchen. His pastries are delicious, you know, but I'm predominantly going for the produce and the produce.
Starting point is 00:11:00 of like have faith, like, give it all up to the farmers market. Like things that are just maybe like in jars or bottles, you know? Does that make a difference? No, I know. But so you agree. Like there's an element of suss. Thousand percent. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Yeah. And so I was remembering like my inner conflict on this suspiciousness. But like I personally am not the type of person that's like buying Civeche at the farmer's market. You know what I mean? Like there is a line that I draw, you know? I understand. There's like pastries, things in bottles.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Like I, Ben also really liked the barbecue. sauce guy. Like I own some of his barbecue sauces. My honey, like the honey is the best from the farmer's market. I feel like people seeming use it all the time. And like it's kind of pricey. So like I feel like, you know, he's working really hard to like suck that honey out of the bees. Do you know what I mean? I'm like, oh, I'm going to support this local business. Yeah. Have you heard that old adage like you can't eat in everybody's kitchen? No, but I sure you have. Yeah. Like it's like a saying like I want to get the, it's so funny. Why? Because everybody's yucky. Yeah. Eat.
Starting point is 00:12:00 everybody's kitchen. Yeah, you can eat at everybody's house. Yeah, I will also say, though, like being outside, like everybody, there's music. Oh, I was there for the vibes. And you were like, oh, go, your eggs are here. I'm like, I can't carry eggs. Like, I'm having a baby shop to me. Like, I'm here for vibes.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Like, we're not shopping. And I loved that for you. Yeah. No, and the vibes were high. We had a great time. We went out to lunch. It was just like a beautiful day. A beautiful day.
Starting point is 00:12:27 We had the best time. I agree. And the weather has been so fabulous. I know it's like hard to say that because, you know, the weather is not so nice in other places in the country. But down here. Yeah. Our favorite. Our favorite time of year.
Starting point is 00:12:39 And then rolling into Super Bowl Sunday, super bounce. I mean, yesterday was a busy day. Like the kids went from like a birthday party and like whatnot to like bounce bowl at Jackie O's. That's what we called. They called a bounce bowl. Yeah. Yeah. Feel free to use that.
Starting point is 00:12:53 No, honestly, feel free to get a bouncy house and like let the kids roam free while the parents like, like Nosh, watch, and we were also like quasi watching like Olympics. Like it was actually like a pretty relaxing. Yeah. I was hoping we would play a little mage, but we didn't get around to it. And that's okay because I already was like overwhelmed. Yeah, well, you had a lot going on in your house. Like hosting.
Starting point is 00:13:15 There was so much food. And like anytime Ben like makes anything, he just like makes his mess. So like you got to clean up after Ben. And I started and I forgot to empty the dishwasher before everyone came over. So there was a full dishwasher of clean dishes. So nobody like emptied it. And everyone just like, I a couple of times had heard. like, is this clean?
Starting point is 00:13:31 I'm like, I have no idea. Like, I, that was. Handwash is your worst night back. Yeah, everyone like hand washes it and leaves it. My husband handwashed all your plates on Thanksgiving. And then I put them in the dishwasher after everyone left. I'm sorry, but those plates and they were the turkey plates. I'm not going to use them again for a year.
Starting point is 00:13:46 I think he thought that like put, they weren't like, they were too nice to go in the dishwasher too. No, no. You do have a lot of nice stuff that doesn't dishwasher. Everyone was like trying to be helpful. And you can only put so much stuff in the dishwasher. But I was like, it's worth, you know, doing multiple loads. You can only put so much in the dishwasher when Ben's offer is making a dish in your house.
Starting point is 00:14:04 He, and by the way, his cowboy caviar was delicious. It's so good. It took him two hours to make with every utensil in Jackie's house. Yeah, yeah. If I had known. Shout out to Ben. We love you. Yeah, no, and shout out to his cowboy caviar.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Everyone loves it. Loves it. It's so good. And honestly, I... Everybody loves us. I wasn't going to, like, say that I was skeptical, but like, honey Chipotle, like, just not usually my vibe, you know? You have to trust. I did.
Starting point is 00:14:26 I did. I did. Yeah. Yeah. So it was a tasty, yummy weekend. Let's get into the stories. We're going to talk all about the Super Bowl, the Super Bowl self. And without further, a do-da-do-do, do, it is time for the fast five stories that you do need to know.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Today's episode of The Toast is brought to you by Home Chef. I am a tried and true home chef chef. I've been home-cheffing for like seven, eight years at this point. And I love it so much. It helped me learn how to cook. It helps me think of creative meals to make because sometimes I just have break. and I don't know what to make for dinner. And when I get my home chef box, there's always something pargy that I know that I'm going to love that's like creative with new ingredients. I love to try new
Starting point is 00:15:08 things. I love to learn how to make things. That's how I learned how to make stuffed peppers. It makes cooking simple fresh. Food is delivered. The recipes are easy to follow. And the meals actually taste amazing. Every time I make a home chef meal, my husband is like, this is my favorite thing that you've ever made. And I'm like, thanks. And it was probably also the easiest for me. So home chef is a meal delivery kit. People really love it, myself included. It is rated number one by users of other meal kits for quality, convenience, value taste, and recipe ease. And they do warn you if a recipe is like more difficult, if it's intermediate. So if you want to start out simple, you can work your way up with Home Chef. I learned how to make so many things using my Home Chef meal kits. For a limited time,

It has had everything that I've needed in my house, in various rooms of my house, indoor furniture, outdoor furniture. I love my patio set that I got from Wayfair. We were just sitting on it last night during the bounce bowl. Everyone was thoroughly enjoying as we watched TV outside. It was a parjolicious vibe, might I say.
Starting point is 00:16:40 I love it for bedroom essentials, like little like, you know, we can just need things to spice up the place, like knickknacks and decorative items. You can get the cutest things on Wayfair. You could also get a bounce house on Wayfair, like, by the way. I was actually looking into doing that. And as I sit here reading this ad for Wayfar, I think I might do that because yesterday it was such a smash success. We could watch the kids on our Wayfair bounce house from our Wayfair couch. So another amazing part about Wayfair,
Starting point is 00:17:07 in addition to their vast array of items, is their convenience. The shipping comes so quick. Like they've changed the game in terms of furniture delivery. You used to have to wait weeks for things. And now you could have things. I redid my guest room in under 10 days with all items from Wayfair, dresser, armoire, nightstands, lights, desk, chair, amazingness, wallpaper.

It's what babies get in their first days of birth. And cows produce it and armor harvests it so that we can enjoy these benefits as well. So some of the benefits of colostrum are strengthened immune health, fortified gut health, healthy metabolism, hair health, skin health, for me, nail health. I notice that like
Starting point is 00:20:31 my cuticle beds are so much less dry and crack and flaky when I'm up on my armor grind. And And it fuels performance and recovery. So everybody is talking about armor colostrum. And it is for a reason because it is like such an easy ad to your every day. It's like a couple teeny tiny scoops. That's A-R-M-R-A dot com slash toast.
Starting point is 00:21:26 I have to say, just talking about what we were talking about before, like, my cup is not any inclination about like who I was rooting for or whatnot. But I actually will say I loved that the Super Bowl was. like Battle of the Brues, you know? Battle of the Brues. So Super Bowl 2026, Seahawks dominate Patriots for a second championship. So who were you rooting for? So I was rooting for the Patriots, actually. And in the Battle of the Brues, that was actually really hard for me because you know I ride
Starting point is 00:21:54 harder than most for Starbucks. Like I'm a Starbucks girly, but I just feel like I, you know, I have a deep appreciation for Robert Kraft in my heart, even though that Super Bowl ad was an abomination. We can talk about that. Honestly, I don't want to talk about it because it's too upsetting. Okay, so we won't talk about it. I'm just like, it's such,
Starting point is 00:22:13 it's so not the vibe. I also like, I love Drake May. I love Anne Michael. I love watching her cooking videos. Like, I was just rooting for them. I also like, I didn't have like a real stake in the game, but like if I had to pick somebody, I was going New England.
Starting point is 00:22:25 I also felt like because like we are East Coasters. Like it was an East Coast versus West Coast Coast battle. Like I'm an East Coast coaster, you know? Yeah. Not that I didn't. And then there were like such cute stories of people coming out from the sea. Sam Darnold used to be on the Jets. Like, why couldn't you make a go of it when you were on the Jets?
Starting point is 00:22:40 Well, whatever. You know, like I just- Why couldn't you get to the Super Bowl with the Jets? Sharks first Jets. Our dad would have loved that, okay? A Sharks First Jets Super Bowl is what I'm looking for. What does I mean? It's so great that you asked that.
Starting point is 00:22:56 I feel like you're speaking for the people. Claudina can't talk about the Jets without saying sharks versus Jets. There's like a Poh Dunk, bring it on remake. like the seventh one. Oh my God. That's like too niche for me.
Starting point is 00:23:09 And I think a lot of people are probably really grateful for the clarification today. But yes, I think bringing on seven was two different rival cheerleading teams called the Sharks and the Jets. Some of the shit you guys say. It's like it's so wild to me that like you and I are only like a year and a half apart and Claudia and I are three years apart. And like we all grew up in the same house because like what the fuck were you guys watching and like where was I?
Starting point is 00:23:31 I don't know. I don't think you stood around for Sharts. So many things. Like there's that other like. education Disney song education connection that was not a part of my life that's surprising no like a lot of those things that you guys talk about I'm like huh maybe that was when you were like locking us out of your room I don't think so I don't think so listening to awesome shooters and no like I was like literally watching do you know that one yes I was like watching seventh heaven I don't know like you guys
Starting point is 00:24:00 were like down for the Disney channel you know that's true you weren't you're not Hannah Montana No, I'm not. You're not Jonas Brothers. No, I'm not camp rock. You might be a little bit camp rock. Are you a little Lizzie McGuire? I am Lizzie McGuire. Lizzie is your year.
Starting point is 00:24:15 For sure. Because I'm like less Lizzie. And by way, that's why like people my age are like dying over the Hillary like Renaissance. You know like those songs really shaped our childhood. Her songs did. But like Lizzie's self is a little like a year ahead of me. People went abroad because like of her experience, you know?
Starting point is 00:24:30 Yeah. In the Lizzie McGuire movie. Yes. No, all of that. But yeah, there is like a little bit of it. generational gap, I guess. But like, in how? Do you know what I mean? Like, we are so close in age. No, but that was probably like the year when you were like locking us out of your room. Yeah, listening to your awesome music. Like seriously. Okay, but like I shared a room with you, you know? Yeah, but I think you were kind of like out. You had one foot out of the door at that point. Maybe. Yeah, you were out in the world. The streets raised you. I'm sure that's another toastism. No, no, no, I was that are anything. But I do appreciate the clarification. Okay, let's get to the entertainment, which is why like we're here. Anyways, the game game. I don't think it was. I don't think it was. I don't think it was. I don't think it was. I don't. I don't think it was. I don't. I don't. I don't was a particular good Super Bowl. But the teams played well because they really couldn't get a point off one another.
Starting point is 00:25:10 The Seahawks won. The defense played well. The defense was, I mean, the Patriots offense was really sad. Oh, your nails look so nice. Oh, thank you so much. I'll give you this color. It doesn't suit me. I like it.
Starting point is 00:25:22 I will also say, like, you know, I love to talk about football as the football expert that I am, but I, like, barely watched the game last night. So I'm not even going to, like, offend you guys with, like, my take on the football because I can admit, like, I'm uneducated as I did not watch the game. until the end. Yeah, it was a bad game. It was boring as how. Entertainment. So, show opening, we had Charlie Puth singing the national anthem, which I was really jazzed for because I think, like Taylor Swift, I think Charlie Puth is underrated. I thought he was amazing. I thought he was amazing too. I was so proud of Charlie.
Starting point is 00:25:54 And I, you know, when I used to lock you out of my room, like, I used to just watch like renditions of- Charley Pooke's videos? No, all of the national anthem, like Super Bowl. Like that Whitney video was like so iconic for me. and I thought he just did an amazing job. Like the production around it was great, but then at the same time, also like sort of simple. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:13 You know, I also did feel like a little bit production-wise. They like showed everybody in the audience and didn't focus enough on Charlie, but whatever, his voice and just the choir of it all. Like I thought it was very good. A beautiful start to the game.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Also, a beautiful start to a boring game. They introduced him as like a multi-award-winning singer and composer. And I feel like the composition element was what really made this so beautiful. He is a musical genius. You know that about him.
Starting point is 00:26:38 No, I don't actually. He has perfect pitch. He is like a music theory genius. And he also has a nice voice. So he sings. But he's more so, he's more on like the back end of music. We love back end piece.
Starting point is 00:26:48 And all together, it made for a really beautiful and I think like memorable performance. I think everybody was really impressed. Yeah, totally. Also because like I feel like he was the type of person that like people weren't like overwhelmingly excited for or not excited for it. It was just like, oh, looking forward to seeing what this is.
Starting point is 00:27:05 He had a lot to. prove. Yeah. Then Coco Jones sang lift every voice and say gorgeous. Gorgeous. She looked gorgeous. It sounded gorgeous. By the way, it also looked like it was like a beautiful day in San Francisco. Oh, also, I know the time. The sky opened up for everybody. The time didn't work for us East Coasters, but it did work for the Pargy vibes.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Because even the halftime show, it wasn't fully dark out yet. It was like sunset and it was so beautiful to watch. I mean, I'm sure amazing. Yeah. Yeah. By the way, we're having a couple like West Coast Super Bowls for the next couple years. It's in L.A. next year. So pargy for everybody there. Well, we'll get into like pargy for everybody there and not pargy for everybody at home because I have some thoughts on that. It's in LA next year. Yeah. I feel like it's always in LA. It's in LA. Plus they're getting the Olympics. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Okay. Brandy Carlisle saying America the Beautiful. She's from Washington State. So. Oh, interesting.
Starting point is 00:27:58 That one was just like moot for me, you know? Wasn't good. It wasn't bad. Yeah, I agree. Like not memorable the way the others are. Sometimes it's just what I'm looking for. Like sing the song, you know, sing nicely. Honestly, and what I'm looking for is not a cluster fuck. You know, where it's just like, uh, with these like beautiful songs that like means so much to people, like just sing it. And you know what? Honestly, you're right. She did that. It was great, Randy. Yeah. And Green Day performed as a bunch of Hall of Famers walked out of a box. Yeah, the box. So by the way, that's the funny part. It's like that stuff actually left more of an impact because like,
Starting point is 00:28:33 Again, 5.30-ish time frame. Like, we were ready for the show. We were sitting on the couch. Like, all, everything that happened then was so much more memorable than anything that happened once the game started. By the way, funny enough, like when they, at kickoff, we literally paused the game so we could give the kids a bath. So, you know, Ruby got his bathe the kickoff.
Starting point is 00:28:48 We paused the game. Then we catch up. Then we're like, wait, let's give Charlie and Harry a bath so that they can go to And then the TV turned off and then it turned back on. By the time we turned the TV back on, the Seahawks were up 3-0. We literally just didn't even watch kickoff because like we were like turning, like, it was a mess. It was a mess.
Starting point is 00:29:04 But I do feel like a lot of people have the same experience. No, 100%. And I was thinking about, like, I mean, what did people do in the day when you couldn't pause, you know? Yeah. But we also forgot to, like, record it. So we couldn't go back. Is that what it was? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Because I didn't, like, press, like, add to library on YouTube TV. So, like, when we turned it off at certain points. Like, so we. Well, the TV turned off by itself when it was paused. The kids, the game was over. When we turned it back on, like, we missed everything. We missed everything. It's so funny.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Yeah, not like, I feel doing experience. And us, like, like, it stopped where we left it. No. Oh, yeah. And we're all fighting. Like, I can't with us. Okay. Then cut to halftime show.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Bad Bunny did the halftime show. Great. I only got a chance to watch it this morning, given the scheduling. I was going to say, I didn't even watch it. The scheduling disaster. I think he literally performed at 8 o'clock, like bedtime. Yeah. I thought it was so great.
Starting point is 00:29:54 I thought it was so fun. No, I left her house at halftime. That's why I literally was like, okay, time to go. And then I had put my kids down. Like, it was a whole thing. and I've only seen like bits and bobs on the internet. I didn't want to see the bits and bobs. Like I, so I've been avoiding like spoilers.
Starting point is 00:30:07 I saw like, I had seen Lady Gaga join, but I didn't even know what she's saying. I didn't want to see anything. I didn't want to see people's opinions before I formed my own. So I literally watched it this morning. I haven't even, I don't even know what everyone is saying, but I think it's been pretty well received.
Starting point is 00:30:19 I think it's been well received. I thought it was so much fun and like upbeat, colorful, beautiful to look at. I thought the set design was great. For me, like, if I knew the songs, I would have liked it even more. Yep. But even without knowing the songs,
Starting point is 00:30:31 It was just like fun, beaty. It was a vibe. Everything was vibes. It was vibes. And it was just like really fun, I would say. And I like that sort of positivity. Yeah, totally. And I think the one thing, this was a point that I wanted to make because we did go to a Super Bowl once.
Starting point is 00:30:45 We did. And the Super Bowl halftime performance show is really made for everybody at home. It actually is not such a great experience for people who are there because a lot of the production is around like, remember it was Justin Timberlake. And it was like, because like, because, like, you know, because, like, you know, Like, it was weird for us because so much of the production was happening TV-wise, but people were like, this was amazing. And I'm like, wow, you had a totally different experience at home than we did. And I actually feel like from what I'm seeing online, because again, I only, I've only seen bits and bobs. I think it was an amazing experience for people that were there.
Starting point is 00:31:17 And I think it was an amazing experience for people that were home. And I think that's something really hard to do. Yeah. Also, there was a bunch of cameos. First, there was like a house full of celebs, Alex Earle. I saw her dancing. Cardi B. Who else?
Starting point is 00:31:28 Jessica Alba. Pedro. Pascal? Yeah, it was like fun. You know, it was like, Where's Waldo of celebrities, which was really like a fun. Do you think those people rehearsed? Or you think they were just like, get out there and dance?
Starting point is 00:31:41 They probably had to go to one rehearsal just for like, you know. To know where to walk on and off. Yeah, what's like blocking, you know, just so they don't like get in the way of a tree on its way. Yeah, the trees. And that's what I'm saying. Like so cool. It was people that were literally like their costume was a tree.
Starting point is 00:31:56 Yeah. To be shvat of them, you know? Yeah. No, it was just like a real celebration. and of his culture, and I think people were, like, upset that, you know, it was all in Spanish. But, like, if that's what Bad Bunny does. So when they chose Bad Bunny, like, that's the halftime. You're going to get, like, music in Spanish.
Starting point is 00:32:10 He's talking in Spanish. So, again, like, if you have a problem, have a problem with the choice, not with the performance. Well, the other thing I saw because, like, again, I totally understand and respect your opinion of, like, not wanting to ruin stuff online for yourself. But, like, I had the similar experience when it was the national championship game with Miami versus Indiana. And the whole time, I, like, didn't give a shit about the game because, like, I didn't go to either one of those schools. And then after the fact online, I saw all these amazing things about that
Starting point is 00:32:33 kid from Indiana and his family. And I was just like, oh my God, I would have been rooting for Indiana the whole time. Like, wow, what a story. So Bad Bunny, like literally 10 years ago in 2016, the year of 2016, he was literally like bagging groceries at a grocery store, uploading his music online. And then like 10 years later, like performing at the Super Bowl. Like, what a story. You know, that is the American dream, if I'm being honest. So like very full circle, you know? Yeah, very full circle. Yeah. I do like, I And there was, there's a lot of good, um, information, like, on the internet of, like, some of the, like, cultural symbolism that, like, yeah. And again, I need to watch it in full.
Starting point is 00:33:08 And now actually knowing some of that stuff, like, I'm excited to watch it through that lens, too. Yeah. There's, like, things like to learn, but also just at face value, like, you could see how it was such a celebration of his culture and it was really beautiful. Yeah. And I just loved it. It felt like one big party.
Starting point is 00:33:22 And honestly, like, pargy vibes. Like, and that's also like what we're looking for at all times. Like, you want to be. And same with the ad. Same with, like, every. aspect of the Super Bowls. Like, the game's going to suck. The vibes have to be pargy everywhere else. Yeah, little positivity. Boop-woo. Can we talk about the ads for a second? Yeah, now let's get. Oh, we also,
Starting point is 00:33:41 sorry, Lady Gaga joined. She sang Daiva with a smile, which is an amazing song. I need to watch it. Was it amazing? It was amazing. I don't want to say anything. Okay, fine. She was amazing, but she was, I'll call you later after I watch it. She was singing with, um, a bunch of instruments playing, like, around her. And they were, they were, it was like, kind of like a mashup of like musical instruments and die with a smile and I just didn't feel like it matched. It felt like she was like singing against them.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Like it wasn't, I don't know why. I don't know if anyone else felt that way. What do you think about Ricky Martin? I didn't see that either. I thought it sounded great. Amazing. And it's just like. Do you watch Palm Royale?
Starting point is 00:34:15 No. Okay, it's that like Apple TV show that he's in. He's so great. Oh, I didn't know he was in it. Yeah. It's like Palm Beach. Palm Beachy, yeah. And he is, he's a big star in it.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Oh, I didn't know that. And he's really good in it. Yeah. I'm loving the Ricky Martin Renaissance like good for him I didn't know there I didn't know that was happening no I and I think that's what makes it cool
Starting point is 00:34:32 you know yeah he's just still around doing his thing and people are excited about seeing him you know more than just a 15 minutes you know I was watching a clip yesterday someone like reference the Justin Timberlake Janet Jackson like the nipple thing which like happened when we were so young
Starting point is 00:34:46 and it was such a big deal but I've never really like thought about it or watched the clip like trying to understand it yeah what did he think he was doing like what was his like when he like ripped off her boob cover like what did he think he was doing other than ripping off her boom cover oh i have no idea i mean also like maybe he didn't think he was doing that maybe his arm got caught like she had like a whole contraption on i need to go back and watch it also it was such a big
Starting point is 00:35:10 it was such a big deal it's amazing they brought him back knowing that he totally no and i think it's like wrong i think like people have a lot of issue with that because it's like he did that well she didn't do anything wrong but he she got all the heat for it totally then watching and by the way Waldrow. What was he thinking he was... Word droll malfunctions are very normal. But it wasn't a... What did he think he was doing?
Starting point is 00:35:30 He literally ripped off her boob cover. Did he need to... That's an... Add it to my watch list. Yeah. Another thing I need to watch. Sorry. Like, I feel like that comes up
Starting point is 00:35:36 every Super Bowl halftime show and I've not really thought about it in a while, but like, what was the, what did they think they were... What did he think he was doing by doing that? What was supposed to happen? I mean, we could go down a whole rabbit hole on that. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:35:49 Um... But the ads. The ads. Okay. I just want to say... Our resident marketer, we couldn't have a better person to join us. Thank you for saying that. I actually feel like I don't have a lot to say because of the way that the Super Bowl was structured.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Like did I get time to watch a lot of the ads? Did you watch a lot of the ads before? Some of them. Yeah. What were some of your standouts? I thought the Pepsi ad was fantastic. I loved that they used the Coca-Cola like polar bear and were able to sort of like draw comparison without being so overt about it.
Starting point is 00:36:14 I just thought that was like beyond creative. I also like and every everybody Jackie can attest to this. that coinbase ad karaoke for the backshee boys was i i was literally like busting out in song and everyone like started following after me because it was like what is happening it made everyone stop and stare and it was like you were going to we didn't know what we were watching but like whatever it was going to be we were going to remember it so when it's just like coin base rock your body right like yeah yeah and also like the backsheep boys had like a big moment like every other ad was about them like another millennial renaissance it's the year of the millennial base and
Starting point is 00:36:51 Maybe. Call me Chugi all you want. But yeah, no, I feel like I need to go home. There are so many things I need to watch. I feel like I need to have like a watch party of the things that are relevant for the Super Bowl because given the timing that the show was at, like I know. I'm sorry if we sell like broken records. But it's just true.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Like I feel like during the ads normally like for me, I'm like hunkered down sitting. I'm like also my kids are older now. So like they need, you know, they're playing. Yeah. A mom, I want a snack. A mom. I got to go to the bathroom. I'm like there was no sitting for me and just like paying attention, you know?
Starting point is 00:37:25 So now I have to go to like ad age or ad week and then watch everything. But I also think that's like that's what it's meant to me. It's like a gathering. You're not supposed to like sit and like like a zombie and watch a Super Bowl for four hours. But then if you think about that in the context of people paying like $7 million just for the ad spot, knowing that people are not going to just be like glued. You know, it is interesting from a marketing spend perspective. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:49 But it's also like the buzz before, during, and after. Yeah, I thought those Claude ads, have you been seeing them on the internet? No. These are some that I saw pre because there's a lot of commentary around them. So, like, as a chat GPT girly, I feel like I'm so, like, knee-deep in my AI that I can't fathom any other AI platforms. But, like, Claude basically, like, did a whole stream of ads making fun of, like, chat GPT's, like, announced ad model. And they would be, like, pretending, like, as if your AI was talking to you, like, helping you with something. and they're like, insert an ad, you know.
Starting point is 00:38:20 It's actually much better when you watch it versus me describing it. But all that to say, I mean, the AI company is, they came out in full force at the Super Bowl. It's always interesting to see, like, what the groupings of people are. I thought the manscape ad was really funny where they like, did you see the hair ball one?
Starting point is 00:38:35 The hair was like singing. That's cute. And then Liquid Ivy also, I think, where they had like the toilet bowls, like also singing or like moving. And then I was like, fucking hydrate yourself, Liquid Ivy. Just like cutesy.
Starting point is 00:38:46 But again, I need to like go. deep. Yeah. That, yeah, they're really, there's some fun stuff. Yeah, there's some fun stuff. Did you see the one with like Travis Kelsey's ex? No, I saw something on the internet about how there was something like that, but I did not watch it. Yeah, it was a bunch of like famous exes, but the brand, I never got around to it. The brand was. Did they play the Kendall one during the Super Bowl? Sleeper. What's that? I think betting. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:39:20 I don't know. I just made that up. But it was other exes to Ben Simmons, Tiffany Haddish, offset. It was like an ace from Love Island. Okay. Yeah, they were like playing a bunch of lawyers. Being well, it's well received or just confusion. Well, it's definitely buzzy.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Yeah, it's buzzy. And that's what you're going for, you know? Yeah. Yeah. I thought the Kendall, was it fan duel or draft kings? Fanatics. Fanatics. Oh, fanatics.
Starting point is 00:39:44 I thought it was fantastic. Yeah. I just couldn't remember the brand. name so I guess it wasn't that fucking good. Did they activate at the Super Bowl? Did anything further happen? Because like the commercial that came out last week was like a pre-gate on her way to the Super Bowl. So I thought like she would do something at the Super Bowl. But if she did. I saw my boyfriend Robert Kraft. I'm kidding. Robert Kraft like posted something. That's your boy and was like like thanks for rooting for us. Like they were having like some like sporadic moments. But I don't know if that that's
Starting point is 00:40:10 what I was saying like did that ad run during the Super Bowl? Right or like a new, a new version of Yeah. Yeah. Maybe I'll find out later. Do you see the T-Mobile one where the back Street Boys, like, we're just performing in a store, like, in Times Square, like, in January. I guess it was, like, real and live at one point. Oh, cool. What a thrill for all those people that were there, you know? Yeah. Like, honestly, the game itself was so bad that I think everything else was just, like, heightened, like, better from an ad's perspective, because you're just, like, wanting to watch anything that's entertaining.
Starting point is 00:40:38 All in all, looking forward to next year, Super Bowl. Yeah. I love a Super Bowl. I love a Super Bowl. It really is so great. It's such a great day. I know. like always a fun. There's so much fodder. Like pop culture, sports, family. And it's becoming like
Starting point is 00:40:52 even more so, you know, like just every year I feel like the experience in whatever city it is, all the celebrities that get to go, all the brands that activate. Like when we went to Minneapolis in 2018, there were not as many brand experiences. There were no creators that were there. I mean, we had the time of our lives. But like if we actually think about it, the experience that we had, which again is actually a long time ago now, like eight years, which is so crazy to think. about very different i think super bowl like total experience and like what they do now yeah they just keep like raising the bar yeah um our next story is a little more super bowl news two couples spotted at super bowl i don't the kids even say couples but also can't even say this is the next story this is
Starting point is 00:41:33 super bowl oh my god this happens every time gosh busy lady every time i'm on the toast my phone rings sorry um tom brady and alex errol were spotted getting cozy at a super bowl party oh no this is controversial like obsessed. What are your thoughts? Um, it's my thoughts are just like I, first of all, I love Alex Earl. Like I think she is. Oh yeah. Fun fact about Olivia. She's Alex Earl's number one fan. Number one fan. And like a longstanding fan. I just like honestly, I think that I, I don't even have the words to describe like just like why I think she's so great. But like I just love her. Like I love watching everything she does. I love watching her success. I like watching her being a part of her family. I like seeing her. Excited for her show.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Yeah, and I just like, I like seeing how she maneuvers her business. Like, I feel like she is a real example of, like, a girl that, like, got famous while in college and is, like, figuring out how to sort of, like, monetize and make the best decisions for herself. And it truthfully, and this is not blowing smoke in any way, like, it does remind me of Claudia because I feel like in the early days, Claudia was another person who, like, got famous in college. She was, like, going on, like, some brand trips and doing brand deals, like, really all the stuff that is, like, so influencer now was, like, so foreign back then. I remember when Claudia like didn't have a way to describe even like what she was doing to people. I remember when like she was not going to go get a full time job and that was like blasphemous, right? Like now nobody wants a full time job and everyone wants to be a fucking creator. So it's like just interesting to sort of see like 10 plus years later like how somebody
Starting point is 00:43:05 else is navigating that in this new sort of like influencer economy. And it just like it reminds me a lot of Claudia like the things that like she's doing or testing and like I mean her opportunities are just like enormous, but she really always handles everything with like a lot of grace and like just fun and excitement and like just fashion and beauty and all the things. And it's just like, I'm so glad for like a girl that looks like her that like to me she's doing it right. And that's why I'm kind of obsessed with the story because like first of all, I just don't think of Tom Brady as being like a 50 something year old man. Like I just don't, I don't want to know about his age. I know that is probably. He's 48 if that helps. Okay. That does help. I thought he was 52 actually. So yeah,
Starting point is 00:43:43 that helps a lot. But it's just like he. He. He is like goat, like best at what he does. And like from an influencer perspective, like she is goat at best at what she does. And I just think like when you think about that, forget the age. I agree that like maybe that's not my favorite part of this piece of the story. But I don't know. It's just like you want like you want to see two people at the top like vibe. And that's what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:44:06 They're nobody's there. And by the way, when they were dancing like, yeah, get it. Like I was. I don't know. I watched a video like three times. I was sort of shocked that they were like spotted together. again, like given the reception, like the fact that it became such a big deal, just that she rubbed his back, like everyone's saying they hooked up and see her. I also think she's like so pretty and like flirty.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Like she talks like that. You know what I mean? But I just feel like for him like after that, like I feel like I mean, I keep like misreading the situation because I feel like it's not a good look for him. Like he looks like like like I think a worst look for him was saying that he didn't have a dog in this fight when like it was like about the Patriots versus the Seahawks. Like of course you have a dog in the fight. He said that. So he's been saying like a lot of things that's like he's kind of like loving people hating on him like I don't know what it is so like I don't think he gives a shit okay well if that's the case because yeah I feel like after it became such a huge story that they were just spotted together yeah that I would feel like they wouldn't want or he wouldn't
Starting point is 00:45:00 it's good for her it's all good for her yeah but like for him he kind of just looks like like an old man what are you doing go home no I know but at the same time like I that's kind of why I love us even more it's like two people that just like don't give a shit what other people think because they don't need to. Well, that makes me think maybe because they love each other so much, like, that they, they're bucking, you know, what people think, but not even that. I think they actually just like, like, like, clicked in like a friend sense. So it's like, I'm not going to like look away from my friend because of what people think. You know, that's a good friend. Well, I could look into it, like, really deeply if you want me to. Also, I did hear rumors that her in Braxton were like, you know,
Starting point is 00:45:37 maybe like talking again or something like that. So like maybe they just genuinely are friends that, like, maybe he's like a father figure to her who the fuck knows but I feel like for Tom Tom always like wanted to like keep playing football I read something actually the other day he's a part owner of the raiders and apparently he wanted to like retire as a raider and um jazelle like didn't want him playing any more football obviously that was the cause and demise of his relationship I feel like it's a similar situation with Alex where she probably didn't want to settle down and brachston maybe wanted to like these are two people that their lives sort of like blew up because they were like pursuing their passions, you know? So maybe they relate to that in some
Starting point is 00:46:16 regard. And maybe it's not love and not a relationship. It's Mr. Right now, you think? Or it's just like two people that are like genuinely confiding in one another because they've been through like somewhat of a similar life experience and they can therapies with each other. I don't know. Wow. I mean, the mental gymnastics. Was it that? Olympic. Olympic level. Well, it is. Simone Biles. The Simone, she's the Simone Biles of justifying Alex Searle and Tom Brady's relationship. Oh, by the way, give me five more minutes. I'll come up with 10 more fucking things. That's really beautiful, Olivia. Do you not agree?
Starting point is 00:46:48 I feel like when it first came out, you were like not super pro this. No, I've actually, like for me, it doesn't really do. I can't, I don't know why you would think that I would be. But it's just a bridge too far. It's so funny because like there's so many influencers and things that like just really don't do it for me. And like I could give two shits and I won't say what they are here because like I just don't need people coming after me. And nobody like, you don't have.
Starting point is 00:47:11 Yeah, and it's just like, I'm, and I'm not like super pop culturey and like caring about like everything. But you're so Alex Arling, you're so Tom Brady. I know. So like, can you imagine what this does for me? Yeah. That's so funny. And then our other new couple spotting, Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton, hard launched their relationship at the Super Bowl in their first public outings.
Starting point is 00:47:31 So rumors have been swirling that they were rendezvousing. They were seen like leaving and arriving at a couple hotels in Paris last week. And now they were spotting. enjoying the big game at Levi's Stadium last night. Here's the thing. I just want Kim to be happy. Like, I just feel like she deserves like happiness and like a good solid man. And I don't know anything about Lewis Hamilton so I can't comment. If that's what makes her happy now, amazing.
Starting point is 00:47:56 But I would just like to see Kim be in a very like fulfilling, nurturing normal relationship. And by normal, I mean no drama. And I just think like when you go with a big athlete like that, like drama. Would you call an F1 driver? Is that what he is? He's the athlete. Yeah, yeah. So that's my take on Kim.
Starting point is 00:48:13 It's like I just want like some peace and calm for her. You know, like the highs and lows of all of her relationships. I mean, her relationships are really like what put her on the map initially, right? So it's like I just like I want to see some like kumbaya vibes for Kim, you know? I agree. And I feel like this is more fun vibes. You know, like where it's like she's probably had a.
Starting point is 00:48:35 Which is also amazing and great and I love that for her. Where she's like in her Kim era like doing what's fun. I don't know if like this is forever, but because I'm saying that it's not, it probably is. Did you watch clips of her on Chloe Wonderland? I watched both episodes, yeah. Yeah, and I thought like it was lovely. Yeah. Yeah, it's very.
Starting point is 00:48:51 And they gave a lot, actually. Oh, you thought so? Well, again, I only watched the clips online. Oh, you saw what they gave. But there was what to give, you know? What was the most interesting part for you? I was just like they were commenting on everything like, are you friends with Larsa? Are you friends with Jonathan?
Starting point is 00:49:05 Like, it's just like all these things that people asked, like, Chloe just straight up asked her, you know? And I was like, okay, like, good for you. for you for tackling head on. Now were her answers like totally strategically maneuvered to just be like, I love everybody. I'm busy. Yeah. Yeah, but she still addressed it. Like, good for her. If someone was like, he who shall not be named, they would not even bring them up. A hundred percent. Yeah. And I do think a lot of things are just like sort of totally blown out of proportion in the media regardless or like the media trying to make a story out of something for the sake of a story. So I'm glad that
Starting point is 00:49:34 she was able to sort of like have that moment. I also think Chloe is doing a great job with her podcast. So like good for Clow money. I think so too. Is she your first? Is she your favorite, Kardashian? Oh, it depends on the season that they're in and the season that I'm in. Super fair. She's pretty consistent. Like, she's always a favorite. But sometimes I'm in my Courtney era.
Starting point is 00:49:51 I just want to say, I, too, I vibe with Courtney. I also have, like, vibrated with Kimberly very deeply for a number of years. I feel like at this present moment, it's not. But, like, I deeply love her. Kim is, I deeply love her. I also feel like Kim is just sort of. of not, I don't want to say like non-existent, but like not out there as much. I also feel like that's why this like story is blowing up and she was seen with someone because
Starting point is 00:50:17 it's like we haven't heard from her in a bit. Yeah, but when you watch the show, it's like their sisterly dynamics also like as moms. Then you start to like everything changes a little bit. So yeah, I really do relate to a lot of them. And of course, Kylie's my favorite. Yeah, of course. It's Kylie. Kylie is my favorite. Today's episode is brought to you by Pepsi. The aforementioned Pepsi ad in last night's Super Bowl commercial was so amazing. Olivia and I were just talking about how much we loved it and how they showed the Pepsi Paradox. So the creative of the Pepsi ad showed this phenomenon that when like you blind taste test colas, it has repeatedly proven that Pepsi is the preferred cola. So Pepsi zero sugar was chosen even by
Starting point is 00:50:59 the polar bear over other zero sugar colas. And yet everything's coming up Pepsi these days. Pepsi is the name on everybody's lips. And Pepsi Zero Sugar is the the number one zero sugar beverage and everybody knows it. The Pepsi ad followed a cola-loving polar bear who stepped up to the iconic Pepsi Challenge and with only taste on the table when taste was the only thing that mattered, he or she chose Pepsi Zero Sugar over Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. 50 years after the original Pepsi Challenge showed America preferred Pepsi when labels were removed, the brand did it again.
Starting point is 00:51:33 So in the 2025 revival of the Pepsi Challenge, 66% of participants agreed Pepsi. Zero tastes better than Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. And Pepsi Zero Sugar won 100% of markets where Pepsi conducted the Pepsi Challenge, even in Coca-Cola's hometown of Atlanta. So you have to try out Pepsi Zero Sugar today. Go out and try Pepsi Zero Sugar today. You deserve taste. You deserve Pepsi.

Okay, let's shift gears a little bit. Still on NBC Peacock, the Olympics. Woo, woo, I said tis the season. Olympics opening ceremony was Friday night in Milan, Milan, Cortina, 2026.
Starting point is 00:56:57 I watched the opening ceremony. You did. Okay, I didn't even know when the, first of all, I fucking love the Olympics. If there's one thing about me, now I am partial to summer over winter, but I love the Olympics. And I actually felt like there wasn't great promotion for it because I didn't know when the opening ceremony was, and thus I missed it, add it to my watch list. Well, I, yeah, it kind of like snuck up on you, even though I've been watching like Peacock every
Starting point is 00:57:21 week for the last four weeks and they always have like snow. You're watching traders and someone's getting snowed on in a promotion for the Olympics. Right, but you're watching Peacock. So like that makes sense, but I'm saying it should have been broader than that. Like I was not watching Peacock and thus like I was. was living under a rock, apparently. Yeah. So I got the memo.
Starting point is 00:57:36 I watched the opening ceremony, not live. With, you know, opening ceremonies, it's kind of like a Super Bowl halftime show. Like, Barr is very high. Sometimes they miss the mark. I was, like, thrown back to that forlorn Paris opening ceremony. That was so terrible. Right. So I was like, I didn't know what to expect from Roland Cortina.
Starting point is 00:57:54 And I loved it. But it's Milan Cortina. I guess actually you could say Paris. I thought Milan Cortina was beautifully done. Love. There were so many things that were just gorgeous and so artfully done. And obviously, like, it was all... It's Milan Cortina.
Starting point is 00:58:09 It's so much about, like, fashion, art. And but it's like, how are you also going to, like, implement pasta into the opening ceremony? Yeah. That's prezzo. Did they? Yeah, they had... I can't wait until it. So they did this, like, one of the bigger moments, it was like a couple, like, probably a big chunk of the show.
Starting point is 00:58:24 It's like, they're three great composers. And they were, like, dancing in the shape of the Fibonacci sequence, which was also part of of the Duncan commercial last night. And I was like, oh my God, that was opening ceremony, synergy. And then they had all of these different, like, dancers come out. And, like, a group of dancers were dressed as, like, colorful espressos. A group of dancers were dressed as, like, colorful buildings to celebrate the architecture. And it was just, like, very on the nose and very cute.
Starting point is 00:58:53 And then it was all about, like, color. And it was just, it was very beautiful. Love that. One of my favorite parts. And then it's like, how are they going to, you know, celebrate fashion and Milan fashion week? They had rows of models, supermodels, red, a row of supermodels dressed in red Armani suits, because Armani is Milano. 14.
Starting point is 00:59:13 A row of supermodels dressed in white Armani suits and a row of supermodels dressed in the green of the flag. So they looked like the Italian flag. They're walking down the road in a way these supermodels dressed as the Italian flag. And then the last model is Leo's girlfriend, Victoria Charettei. She's dressed in a beautiful white dress carrying the Italian flag. She gives it for like the flag raising. It was just like a beautiful way to like see. celebrate their country. Yeah, which is amazing. It was, I have no notes. It was great. I feel like
Starting point is 00:59:38 accomplished everything that an opening ceremony should do, which is like highlight the culture of the place that's happening the ceremony. Andrea Bocchelli sang. Oh, King. It was beautiful. Mariah Carrie sang. Got to watch. How'd she do? She sounded amazing. I was actually shocked that she sang because I don't know why I feel like she doesn't sing anymore. I don't, I agree with that. She has one of the greatest voices of all time, but like there was the New Year's kerfuffle. So I'm like, does she even sing live anymore and if she doesn't why have her do the opening ceremony it's not like she's italian right but she has a beautiful operatic voice right miss popular so busy if you need to take a call i'll understand um no i'll be okay uh so sorry so she crushed it tape mcrae did not get on a
Starting point is 01:00:24 Ferrari and sing sports car so did people think that was going to happen it was my that could happen in LA in 2028 because Ferrari is Italian no I'm I know, but they're not going to have so many American people. She was doing promo for the Olympics, and she said, I'll be it. We're going to the open ceremony and then back to Super Bowl. She was doing it for Peacock, like, about explaining their programming. So I'm like, what is she talking about the opening ceremony for? And then I was like, maybe she's in it.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Trouty. I just want to tell you something. The reason why my ringer is on is your fault, just so you know. My fault. I'm going to tell you, I'm literally turning my phone off. Okay. Because I, first of all, I got this new phone, the iPhone 17. And it used to have this, like, thing on the side where you could, like,
Starting point is 01:01:01 up and down like the sound, whatever. And it is your fault, I'll tell you why, but like in the best possible way. Because like two months before you were about to give birth, you called me and you're like, you need to start leaving your phone on at night, like, if I need you. And I just want you to know, my phone is completely silent except for phone calls because that's how I set it up so that in the night I didn't get like a beep for every single thing on my phone. And like now I just like, I don't even know.
Starting point is 01:01:23 I got to like figure that out. Yeah. But I just left it like that. So my ringer is just always on now. Is that spam calls? Do you get a lot of spam? No, no. These are people that I know that are looking for me. I get a lot of spam. I can never leave my ring around.
Starting point is 01:01:35 I get so much spam. I'm just saying this in particular happened to not be spam. Got it. But my phone's off. So I'm so sorry, everybody. I have to be like that person like I'm so busy. She's so, I mean, we know she's so busy and she's so popular. But we'll begin to wrap up. Well, the one thing I wanted to comment on was that I am very much looking forward to the opening ceremony in 2028. Well, it made me think about what the LA is going to do. You know what I was thinking. I'm not to like go down this rabbit hole and waste the rest of the show time. but this is what I was thinking about
Starting point is 01:02:01 because they had to pick their biggest Italian singers like who represents Italy they also had an actress from White Lotus Sabrina Impatiatory did you see her did you watch that season
Starting point is 01:02:11 I didn't watch it I only saw the name of the actress and I didn't know if I looked at a picture of her I'd be like oh but I don't I didn't know the name of the person and what that correlated to yeah so I guess she's just a popular Italian actress she did like this whole thing
Starting point is 01:02:23 it was really cute so then I was like who represent and it's not just about Los Angeles it's about the country because I was like you know, I was expecting like Milan to be like only Milan, but it's like, no, we can go to Rome. It's okay. Like we can do other Italian things. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:36 So LA can be. But also like L. That's very different, I think, in Italy than it is here. Then they're not states in the same way, but like L.A. is very representative. I feel like or, you know, just having it in different places in America of like the U.S. And Milan is like, Milan and Rome are like, they could be like two different worlds. I agree. That's why they always say when you travel to Italy, you should like go to multiple places.
Starting point is 01:02:57 It's about the host country. So I think that... I get that. So who do you think would be the right performers for L.A.? And like, of course, your mind goes like Taylor's with, Beyonce, but like, I don't know that they sum up
Starting point is 01:03:09 like all of America. Yeah. And then I was like, I think it has to be someone older. And a lot of the people I was thinking have passed, like Whitney Houston would be amazing. Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 01:03:19 Yeah. Well, I always... So who are those people who are still living. Like Billy Joel. Like we need him. Or Bruce Springsteen. Yeah, Bruce Springsteen. And I thought...
Starting point is 01:03:27 You know who else I thought? Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton? That's a great one. I do also think that you also have to think about in two years from now. There's going to be like another big star that will be somebody that. But not enough to like hold it down for the whole country. No, no, no, but you're going to have multiple people.
Starting point is 01:03:41 You're going to have like young, old and new. Yeah. Little people. No, like, you know, like, and also that is so like Hollywood is to like put on a two and half hour like Super Bowl halftime show. 100%. Put in everyone. No, it'll be a lot of people.
Starting point is 01:03:53 And there'll be somebody on that stage. This is my prediction. There'll be somebody on that stage that is like not somebody that's even remotely famous right now, but that's somebody that's like up and coming over the next two years. Like it will be a hodgepodge of different. I mean, this is what I hope they do actually because God knows what they are going to do. But I feel like, I mean, L.A. and that 2020 Olympics committee, they are working in, oh, they were working in overtime to get it.
Starting point is 01:04:15 I feel like it's going to be a lot of Billy Elish. They love her because she's like from L.A. No, that's not what we want. And she was in the like the baton toss from the closing ceremony. It's not what we want. I know. but that's what it's going to be. It's not what we, I'm just telling you that's not what we want.
Starting point is 01:04:28 And red hot chili peppers, they were in it too. Great. Love. Done. Love. Okay. Do you know that I went to a red hot chili peppers concert in high school? They should do like an around the country, like take us on a tour of the country.
Starting point is 01:04:39 Or just like, start New York, Billy Joel, down to Miami, Mr. 305. Just please put fucking pit bull in there, okay? Mr. 305. I love him. Mr. Like that's who we need. Like Dolly. Then we're going to.
Starting point is 01:04:49 By the way, great idea. Oh, we could stop in New Jersey for Bruce Springsteen. Sure. And I guess if like you're not associated with a certain place, like you're not going to be on our tour. If you're not associated with a certain place, like you're not a star. Do you know what I mean? Like all stars, like they like talk about their humble beginnings or, you know, like it's part of their, you know. Yeah, I think most people are associated with a certain place.
Starting point is 01:05:09 Yeah. Where's Taylor associated? I guess Nashville is where she got her start. Not Reading PA. No. I mean, sure, if they want to like. Nashville is like another place. You could have like 10 people over in there, you know?
Starting point is 01:05:21 Well, Dolly is like Dolly Wood. Yeah. You know? And that's in Memphis. Somewhere in Tennessee. The Graceland's in Memphis. Elvis would have been great. Would have been great.
Starting point is 01:05:31 I mean, he would have been dead by now regardless. He would have been amazing for the opening ceremony in 2028. Okay, let me get to the rest of the stories. I'm crying. Is there some nonsense that you know what I might say for another day? But let's just hit to our fifth and final story, which was a headline that I thought was so funny. And I saw the video, but when you put it to words, Cardi B takes a tumble while giving a robot a lap dance.
Starting point is 01:05:57 So this video was on TMZ. There was like a robot outside of a hotel. So she jokingly like starts like dancing on it, whatever. And at a certain point she like put pressure on. I thought the robot was going to like fight back. Because I like saw the headline that the robot like takes a tumble with Cardi B. So I thought like maybe he was going to like assert. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:15 Some self, you know, dominance and be like, don't touch me. Yeah. But no, she like put pressure on it. He like fell and she fell. And she fell. Oh, God. And it was just like the craziest. It felt like something like not real.
Starting point is 01:06:27 Yeah, no, I haven't seen that video, but like that's a not real headline, you know? It's a not real headline. I love not real headline. Are you into like Cardi B like being a wag? So I think also her and Stefan like broke up yesterday. You're kidding. Yeah. Is that another story?
Starting point is 01:06:42 No, no, no. I mean like it's news. Where was it? Let me find it. That would be insane. Where did I just see that? Why? Because he lost?
Starting point is 01:06:50 I don't know. Oh, it's at the bottom. Okay. They spark breakup rumors post Super Bowl. Yeah, I don't know. I don't feel like they're that rock solid. No, I know. But like, I mean, to break up, like, he just played in the Super Bowl and lost.
Starting point is 01:07:05 Like, I mean, that would be like a fucking whammy. Yeah. Is that what you're saying? Yeah, maybe we eight a week or something, you know? Yeah, I don't know. I just, I feel like they're very on and off. No, for sure. But like, also, I did kind of like her wag era.
Starting point is 01:07:17 I didn't know, like, enough about it. But it was like, it's always fun to see. see like who But I didn't feel like she was at the Super Bowl as a wag Like she was at the Super Bowl as Cardi B Which is sparking the breakup rumors No I don't know That's just like my take
Starting point is 01:07:28 She was also in the halftime show She was in the halftime show yeah But was she in the halftime show Because she was a wag so of course she was gonna be there No I think she was in the halftime because she's Cardi B So of course she's gonna be there I mean was she at the Super Bowl the last time last year Like she's somebody that's always performing
Starting point is 01:07:42 Like you know the direct TV pre-super Bowl party Yeah like 50 Cent performed somewhere Did you see that? No I love Fofti he's my favorite Yeah, there were a bunch of performances. It was a big weekend. It was a big weekend.
Starting point is 01:07:54 Everyone was out. Christian McCaffrey played the piano at the Zach Bryan concert. I saw that. And he played the whole concert. He did great. And then he's also in that commercial for like NFL. Where he has like a belly? No.
Starting point is 01:08:06 Did you see that ad? No, I didn't. I was talking about the boys and girls club, youth club of America. It was an ad for like NFL's philanthropy work with youth organizations. Oh, that's sweet. And Kristen McCaffrey is playing the piano for a bunch of youths. That's what I was talking about. But tell me about the girls.
Starting point is 01:08:19 belly. Okay, there's an ad. I actually don't know who it's for. He's in a locker room and he has literally a belly and he's like shoving food in his face and they called him like Christian like me Caffrey or something. I don't know what it's for and it's like and he's like the meh is signly or something. I'm sorry, Dandre is rolling over in his grave. I'm going to send it to you after again, I only saw a clip online. So I like I wasn't fully processing what was going on. I also was like, I don't know. I'm not one of those people where it's like if you're shoving food in your mouth like this is like entertaining ASMR for me. So I was like, what is this got to go? But I'll go back to it now. I thought that's what you were talking about. He also won an award over the week. Comeback player.
Starting point is 01:08:58 He made a beautiful speech. I actually love the NFL honors. Have you ever watched it? No, it always like misses me, you know? Oh, yeah, miss me because you want to know why. Because they do it, I think, like Thursday night. And you find out everybody that wins and you see all the red carpet pictures and everything. And then they usually air it on Saturday night, like on TV for the folks at home. And it's like, like nobody gives a shit. By then. They've sort of bifurcated their moment.
Starting point is 01:09:22 I forget who it was a couple years ago. They had like an amazing host. It was so funny. It was like very moving and celebratory. I've always like I really like that they do that. I just don't like they should just air it live. Like don't give us like a few days because I want to see people's speeches live versus like if I'm seeing it online, then I'm not necessarily going to go and watch your live stream
Starting point is 01:09:41 on a Saturday night, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, thank you so much for joining me today. Thank you so much for having me. It was an absolute pleasure. That is your Super Bowl recap.
Starting point is 01:09:52 Oh, Olympics, we had started to dabble and then like the sports, but it's also like preliminary. At this point, Lindsay Vaughn is like the big news. I'm just in love with that couple, the married couple that's... The figure skaters. And the guy who liked his flips. He won something. I think he got gold yesterday.
Starting point is 01:10:08 We watched one... Oh, they're already giving out colds. Yeah, but also I saw a gold medal chart and like America isn't even in the top five. So I feel like our sports are not anywhere near that yet. And also, we're just rooting for. Jared Firestone from Eretz Israel, okay? Oh, yeah, he's playing for Israel. Oh, and the Israeli team was robbed.
Starting point is 01:10:23 Their apartment was robbed. Thousands of dollars stolen in their passports. Yep. Another day. Just another day. But yes, I need to get more into the Winter Olympics and rooting for Team America. I just always feel like the first few days, it's like, you know, everyone's falling and figuring it out.
Starting point is 01:10:40 Yeah. And it's like semifinals vibes. It's semi-vinal vibes. But then at the end, it's like, this person is already won two medals. I'm like, when did that happen? But it's in these days that I'm consciously not paying attention to. Yeah. No, and I just, I love the married couple.
Starting point is 01:10:52 Yeah, I think everyone is. Apparently their moms were like friends. And then at like 12 years old when they were like skating together, they decided to become partners. And then they were like skating together for like 15, 20 years and then like said I love you. Like, could you die of cuteness? Like for men and women like figure skating partners to not be married. Like when I'm looking at them, they're dancing like so romantically.
Starting point is 01:11:13 I'm like, oh, you guys should be married. You should. And I think that's why these folks. are so great. Yeah, because it's a lot of trust. A lot of physical contact, a lot of long hours on the rank. Yeah, and like a lot of eyes, you know, looking to my soul. Yeah, so happy for them. We will continue to recap Olympics this week. We'll have your toasters tomorrow, TV recaps, all the things. Troutskin, thank you so much for joining me. Thank you for having me. I love you so much. I love you dearly. Follow me at Olivia Ashtray. Do it, and we will see you on the next one. Love you.
Starting point is 01:11:43 Bye.
