Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, Millennials! Welcome back to the Toast and happy Tuesday, also known as Tuesday, kind of the final Tuesday before the official Tuesday, if you know what I mean. If you know what I mean, Tuesday has always been a day of choice, but it harks from its original history as the day of choice on Election Day. The first Tuesday of November is next week this making this actually the last Tuesday of October that is what it makes this that's so true so now that you know that I feel like you're prepped 1000% now do I feel like I have a different energy today
Starting point is 00:00:38 yes you do what do you think it harks to? Can you pinpoint the energy differentiator? I think it harks to something different you did with your hair or your makeup. No, no, no, no. It's not physical. It's actually not physical. Oh, something that you watched. No, something that I did this morning. I actually did something really crazy this morning.
Starting point is 00:01:01 You went out for breakfast? Yes. How did you know that? Because it's just like a crazy thing to do in New York when you wake up early or something. Yeah. Like it's just a crazy thing to do. And you and Ben like just found a diner that you like. So I'm so glad you brought that up. I've been wanting to talk about that. There's only so many things you could have done before the toast this morning. So I do think you went out to breakfast. I did. And actually we didn't. So
Starting point is 00:01:21 a new diner opened up on our block that like is really exciting for us. You know, diners are the backbone of America and we just love to support local diners. And I feel like diners are sort of like on the decline, not on the rise necessarily. And you have probably your diner that you love, but it's not often that you get a new diner. And so we went over the weekend and it was good. You know, they still have some, you know, kinks to work out, but like the basics were there, thank God. And then it kind of put us on this mission of like, you know, we need to try more diners. So over the weekend, we actually went to three different diners. And I didn't want to share because like some of them were really bad. And like me and Ben, Ben got food poisoning. He actually came home and threw up from one. Like we, and so I don't
Starting point is 00:02:01 want to, I was thinking, I'm like, it would be a funny series for Ben to like share, but I don't want to disparage local businesses because even a bad designer, there's a designer, a bad diner, there is a place for that diner in this city. Like it is the backbone of our economy and I'm not going to be out here like disparaging local businesses. For sure. It's the backbone of someone's drunk late night antics. Yeah. And so this morning we had all this extra time. We're like, should we try another diner? Now we had been to this one before. It's kind of a, it's kind of like out of our way, but we had the time very, this morning it was like a very dink morning, you know, like just sitting down for breakfast, like watching the news. It totally, it was so, it really like
Starting point is 00:02:38 made me wish it, like I lived in a world where like, I just went out for breakfast in the mornings. Like if I woke up at six in the morning, like yeah, and it got like I could have breakfast every morning out. But that's not real life. I mean, I want to have breakfast every morning out, but I more so want to sleep. Yeah, I more so want to sleep. I, breakfast is underrated, you know, and I love like a breakfast of champions,
Starting point is 00:03:02 like eggs and toast and a hash brown like I really do enjoy that and now it's like if I ever want that I'll just I make it and that suffices the hash browns I I don't know how to make hash browns I still do frozen yeah like the traitor what do you get today I got a grilled cheese and like let me not the traitor chose let me tell you this grilled cheese has got my vote. Like, it was so superior. And, you know, I'm not really one who, I don't believe in, like, you know, do you want a whole wheat or a spinach wrap? Like, I don't think those things make you healthy, right?
Starting point is 00:03:35 So. No, the spinach wrap is not going to make you skinny. No. So just get the tasty one. Right. And so when they ask what kind of bread, like, I'm never one to be like, seven grain. But I do always, with a grilled cheese, get whole wheat bread.
Starting point is 00:03:47 Not for the whole wheatiness. I actually think it's a superior sandwich. I agree. Something about a white bread is like, what am I, six? Like, it's just not right. No, it's too basic. I actually, I like a rye bread. On a grilled cheese?
Starting point is 00:04:04 On a grilled cheese. Oh, that's disgusting. Oh, you, Jill. With a little ketchup. I knew you were going to make fun of me, sick I actually I like a rye bread on a grilled cheese on a grilled cheese disgusting oh you with a little ketchup I knew you were gonna make fun of me and I actually like didn't even want to say because I knew that my my yum was gonna be yucked but I had to like I some people like rye bread so here I am representing those people and I just like I was almost gonna say like don't say don't make fun but I was like no she could handle it I thought maybe she'd even be like oh cool yeah no because let me tell you this I don't have a problem with rye bread I think it's actually important to my culture rye bread it is I just think that like certain sandwiches I'll allow
Starting point is 00:04:32 rye bread even though I would seriously never touch rye bread I think it's literally disgusting of course you're having a pastrami sandwich a turkey sandwich like certain sandwiches of course rye bread grilled cheese is sacred don't you dare bring rye bread into this like that's sick it's tasty treat I well because I don't eat store-bought bread yeah I'm just kind of superior in that fashion this weekend I actually made so many grilled cheese cranberries because we had a fresh loaf of sandwich bread so I made grilled cheese for lunch on Saturday and Sunday and for the kids and for Zach and I and like it was the best grilled cheese ever grilled cheese to me is like so important and it is something that will truly truly never go out
Starting point is 00:05:11 of style like I don't know if I've ever turned down a grilled cheese I don't know if I've ever not been in the mood for a grilled cheese like I think when it comes to sandwich culture everybody's focused on the meats right and grilled cheese kind, you know, thrown by the wayside a little bit. They think it's for kids. It's not. Let me tell you, it is superior. And it's, I'm not talking about a cheese sandwich, by the way. Ugh, yucky.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Cheese sandwich is like actually, it's insane how like the same exact ingredients make up a cheese sandwich. No, like just like what a little heat can do. And butter. Like there's no butter on the bread of a cheese sandwich. It's just like plain bread. Cheese sandwich is actually filthy. Like, ugh. Like it's fire festival on the bread of a cheese sandwich. It's just like plain bread. Cheese sandwich is actually filthy.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Like, ugh. Like it's fire festival. Yes, it is. So what you're saying is grilled cheese is always a good idea? That's exactly what I'm saying. And like you really, you can have, it's totally a breakfast food, right? Yeah. You can have it any time of day.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Like I've never not wanted a grilled cheese. It's not, sorry, people are going to be like, what? It's not, it's not like overwhelmingly a breakfast food. It's acceptable. But like you can treat yourself to a grilled cheese. It's not, sorry, people are going to be like, what? It's not, it's not like overwhelmingly a breakfast food, but like you can treat yourself to a grilled cheese for breakfast because like it has the same ingredients as your bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. It's so true. Like you're having toast and cheese and your eggs. Like you're having like bread in different form with cheese.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Like you're not. I think it's a totally acceptable breakfast menu item. Agreed. I didn't know that's going to crazy for some people and here I know that I had like I know that like diners in New York like are much more of like a cultural thing and I know that because like a couple of years ago I was like I was getting so much hate on my Instagram story people being like you spelled dinner wrong and like I literally didn't like I was talking about diner in the sentence I'm like we just ordered diner and I guess like a normal person would be like oh you ordered dinner
Starting point is 00:06:47 moron and no no but or you would say like we ordered from a diner yeah no but like I would say we ordered diner to you yeah but in a sentence like the grammar is not you see how people thought I was like and they're like we got you in a typo I'm like actually you fucking didn't bitch you didn't I ordered diner yeah but they're not like so actually like crazy. No, for thinking that. But then like they were like, you're lying. You're doubling down. That's like saying I ordered Chinese.
Starting point is 00:07:12 I ordered Italian. I ordered a diner. It's a type of cuisine. It's a type of cuisine. Right. And so then I doubled, people are like, you're doubling down because you're lying. So it was at that moment that I realized like people don't. She doubled down because she's lying.
Starting point is 00:07:21 People in New York like take diner more seriously. And so I don't know if like, because like at this point in my life, I'm eating at a diner once a week. And if you don't live in the city, like is that a common occurrence for you? Like how often are you eating at a diner in Minnesota? Well, I think it just depends.
Starting point is 00:07:37 I think there's like some fast food chain diners, which are probably more prevalent like Denny's. That counts. I feel like even IHOP is considered a diner. Oh wow, that's actually a really interesting question I'd have to take a like a hard look at the menu to see if they cover all food groups but I think that they do by the way IHOP is 100% a diner and by the way I think that chains count like when I talk about diner culture I'm including Denny's I love it it's a
Starting point is 00:07:59 different it's different like to go to like your diner on the corner since 1910. Yeah. Versus like going to Denny's. Technically it's the same but you don't always say when you're going to Denny's like I'm going to diner. No but they really got that right in Seinfeld. Like the diner of it all. But the diners are going by the wayside I find. If diners.
Starting point is 00:08:18 We grew up on diners and like now it seems as though you're having a renaissance. But previous to this week like they kind of slipped through the cracks no way even though I'm definitely having a diner renaissance I have been supporting local diners my entire life like maybe not no no I know but in the last few years maybe it's just like this gap that you slip through the cracks like after you're no longer like drunkenly eating at that you're not like as a kid going to breakfast and you're not like drunkenly eating at diners and like diners like as a kid going to breakfast and you're not like drunkenly eating at diners. And like diners have to kind of find their way back to you in adulthood. It's so true.
Starting point is 00:08:50 And you found your way back. I just, like Ben and I go into a diner and we like clock everything about it. Like the vibes, the staff, like. The smell. The smell, of course. Well, if it's not a good smell, like we won't say. But, and the one that we ate at where Ben got food poisoning this weekend, we had such high hopes for.
Starting point is 00:09:04 The soda was so good. Like we, because the one we went to previously had like a little bit of a flat soda so we were like we were ready to go we were ready to go and it was just not I actually saw a bunch of toasters there so hi guys it was just not good okay well you live and you learn I think that might be a dream of mine to open a diner yeah I love just so I could sit there all day dream big what would you call it Trudy's place oh TP I'd go you would go to a restaurant with a name turn in it well I of course I would I support my sister other people I don't know we would have to make sure that we like are the highest of cleanliness standards well I just feel like any time the name Turdy's not applicable
Starting point is 00:09:46 to, like, a restaurant or whatever, like, we go Trudy. Yeah. Like, that's your backup. Trudy's Place, I like that. Just like that note. Someone sent, remember that PR? Of course. They're like, are you sure you want to send this to Turdy?
Starting point is 00:09:58 I am sure. Are you sure you don't mean Trudy Lou? Trudy is cute, too. What would you name your diner? She's so cute. Well, actually, Jackie, our diner would have to be called Toast and Ham. Of course. That's the thing.
Starting point is 00:10:11 We could talk all the talk all day, but at the end of the day, yeah, it's like Toasties. Eggs and Toast. Toasters. Toast time. Or The Toast. The Toast. The Toast. Yeah. That's the name of the diner's the name we serve bread yes we do including rye
Starting point is 00:10:30 so that's what's a little different about me this morning well i'm glad you're well fed oh i i ate she ate and i'm sat she ate and i'm sat i love saying i'm sat the southern charm trailer came out yesterday i You were sad? I'm sad. I was sad. Is there anything different about you this morning? Well, I got a pargy loaf out of the oven this morning. Okay, so that's not new at all.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Nothing new with my HMU. No, I'm wearing like a new sweatshirt. So you're regular degular. We want to get technical. I'm pretty regular degular, I'd say. That's good. Just a regular Tuesday. I have a big afternoon.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Huge. What are you doing? Big things. I'm doing that secret project with Zach that you know about, that everyone's going to know about very soon. So like hold your horses. And then even bigger news, I am going to the dentist. I was so inspired by Bruno and so jealous.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Like my tooth was radiating pain and it's time to go. And I'm genuinely frightened for what they're going to find. Like it's, I know it's not good. the dentist is like genuinely one of the worst places it's so uncomfortable like not even because like I know teeth cleaning's like we don't like them dentists not fun but like I'm more so frightened about like what they're going to say I need oh and I'm worried it's an RC an RC not the RC and I've been seeing a lot of like not good stuff about RCs. You know what? I saw that clip from the Skinny Confidential too.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Did, right? And now like I'm going to be looking for alternatives. Maybe I could get a silver cap. You should get a gold tooth. I think that that's definitely the next step for you. At one point in my life, I had a silver, I guess a silver filling. I don't know what happened to it. It must have fallen
Starting point is 00:12:05 out can we talk about that like is that have have we have just like evolved past the need for like gold and silver fillings yeah they have porcelain too but there is like something there's merit in the silver of course the porcelain I think is more expensive but I also feel like the silver it's like better like as kids we were all just like walking around with cavities that got filled by pieces of gold. Like I don't get it. No, maybe. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:12:30 I think a cavity. Listen, I'm going to know my limits. I don't know. Speaking of don't quote me, I need to issue a correction from yesterday's episode. This is a big one. And I learned a lot. I learned a lot about my own Floridian history, which is that Florida was very much a state during the Civil War and that they were part of the Confederacy. Yikes. So I don't know why I like Florida just always gave me the vibe of like a later state.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Kind of like nouveau riche. Like a little Hawaii, Alaska. Not that late, but I certainly did not think they were part of the South, but they're part of the South. So that's a bit of history I need to study up on. Speaking of geography I'm glad you brought that up you know I just found something out. I just recently found out about the geolocation of Hawaii like I just found out where it is on the map. Okay where did you think it was? I'm glad you asked. I thought it was like i don't know attached excuse like i don't know i thought there was like a brit like i don't know something like you're lying i thought like okay maybe not attached fine but like i thought i feel like like a fairy ride in the maps that we like grew up with textbooks like they move it closer it was
Starting point is 00:13:41 condensed right so it was just like in the bottom left yes kind of like to the left of Mexico a little bit yeah yeah like south left south left California yeah yeah yeah yeah I thought it was just like right there and I knew that to get to Hawaii like you do have to go to California so yeah yeah yeah I was really really shocked when I found out that it's actually like so far left in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by nothing. It's an island. So yes. And that was shocking. Even though we're miles and miles and miles apart. Yeah. That was just new information.
Starting point is 00:14:14 All I want to do is go to Hawaii with you. Literally same. Literally same. We want to go to Hawaii so badly. We've never been. Never been. It was where I wanted to go to Hawaii so badly we've never been. We've never been. It was where I wanted to go for my honeymoon. I feel like that's where most people go.
Starting point is 00:14:30 I know, but usually you would think with me, I wouldn't really have a destination in mind because I'm not such a wanderlust type of swirly, but I really wanted to see Hawaii. Yeah, we will. We will. Oh, now that I got my real ID I can travel within the continental U.S. it arrived yesterday um yeah maybe we do a little jizz no Hawaii
Starting point is 00:14:51 aloha jizz no I'm obsessed I think there's probably four toasters in Hawaii like who live there and we're gonna give them one hell of a show we are they deserve it there's no such thing as a small crowd what do they say as small oh that's a small part that's mine by the way there is there is the part that i got in 13 the musical for my senior play i think her name was cassie that was a small part yeah i think i was the peach and james and the giant peach one summer i am not like still upset about it. I just, I know it came off that way, but I know that sort of,
Starting point is 00:15:27 let's talk about it because that sort of changed the trajectory of your life. You were like going one way. I think it was like show business, the theater. Let me say this. I never, ever got involved in drama or theater or choir throughout high school. I just like knew I was a star and those sort of extracurriculars like were beneath me honestly like and I feel like you assume
Starting point is 00:15:50 that like if you ever did deem to join one of them like you'd be the star soloist you'd be the star of the show like you're kind of like and I talked about this a lot in my book that like you know there is a stigma with like being in the play and that was just not a sacrifice I was personally willing to make that had a lot to do with my choice and by the time senior year rolled around there was this thing called the senior play where it's like all the seniors get together and put on a play like you don't have to be in theater it's like everyone gets involved and it's really fun. Yeah it's all the scene you just have to be a senior so like everyone. Okay it's. Finally you'll lend your talent. I'll allow it and you know the people who ran like the it was a student run production and the people who were put in charge were the people who had been in theater for four years.
Starting point is 00:16:28 They didn't, like, like me. I wasn't a part. So I literally show up, and actually I remember that the girl who auditioned right before me, she sang, I think Rumor Has It by Adele. Like, she was literally awful. And I was like, I'm going to absolutely crush this. I sang Don't Rain On My Parade, like, from Funny Girl. I literally thought I was Rachel Berry.
Starting point is 00:16:43 And we all know that Claudia can sing that song. And let me tell you I ate and I sat like it was I remember being like you ate they were sad I remember thinking to myself like I've never auditioned I'm never going to audition like this is the one like I didn't even have time to be nervous I'm like let's just go in and rock the socks off those theater kids okay yeah there was literally no doubt in my mind that I deserve the part now the lead in this play was a boy role so I was like and if I don't what was the play again 13 yeah that's a little racy it was very Shiva it was racy not the Shiva a thousand percent um and so I was like if I don't get it like it's fine they give it to a boy like it's not a big deal now I didn't get it it went to a girl and it was obviously a coordinated attack from like the theater kids like they did not like me and um you know she did a good job Zahava I'll say
Starting point is 00:17:38 she did and she's kind of a queen so I'm not going to disparage her she actually did a great job like as a boy and the more I thought about it like I wasn't mad at it. She had to like run around in like a boy's wig. Like I didn't want to be that. So I got cast as a cheerleader and you would think that sounds good, but like there were a lot of cheerleaders. I was literally one step above an ensemble cheerleader. The only reason mine was different was because my role had a solo and it was like a whole song at the very end. And it's kind of one of the better songs of the musical. I wasn't familiar with the musical at the time. Cut to like a few weeks into rehearsal. I told you it was a coordinated attack by the theater kids in my, they cut my solo. They were like, we don't have time. We had to make some cuts. This song is getting cut. And
Starting point is 00:18:16 I said, are you fucking kidding me? Like I said, I knew this was a coordinated attack, but you all just like pretty much confirmed that you hate me. All that to say, like I was not taking it lying down. I got the song put back in. Wait, it gets worse. It's the dead last song of like by the time all the parents are asleep, like it's the worst time. My song comes on. I've been practicing so hard and I like really was about to crush it.
Starting point is 00:18:43 The first couple of bars, my microphone is off. Tell me it's not a coordinated attack. My friend Ada has a video on Facebook. I have to go find it because literally you can't hear me for the first couple of lines. Like stop. Then I was like, seriously, I was so determined and determination. Like the show must go on. Determination was not a quality I actually really embodied as a young woman.
Starting point is 00:19:02 So I don't know where this like kind of courage and determination came from but like I was I started singing so loud without a microphone I'm like everyone in this giving Katie Heron everyone in this room is gonna fucking hear me and they're gonna like it then the microphone what a bright time then the microphone came on and like I really I I absolutely crushed so much so that I haven't been back to my high school in a while but like when Margo was in high school I would go back and like let me tell you they were still talking about it. And I'm being dead serious. Dwight.
Starting point is 00:19:28 So because we went to a Jewish J school and they have like full armed security, like 24 seven. And like the OG guy who's always standing outside, all the students know him, love him. His name is Dwight. And like,
Starting point is 00:19:36 you know, if like if you were really cool with Dwight, like you would have like, you know, kind of like inside jokes and stuff. And let me tell you, after that solo for the rest of the year. And then every time I came back to high school
Starting point is 00:19:43 for the next following year, it's like see Margo graduate and shit. He would be like solo. Like he could, like and then every time I came back to high school for the next following years to like see Margaret graduate and shit he would be like solo like he could like he was deeply moved by it and I by the way I am not making this up no I believe you we gotta get Dwight on the pod okay we do we have to get his side of the story but yeah they tried to keep Trudy down but I just I feel like if you did get the lead in that play like you might have pursued immediately like a career in music because I felt like if you did get the lead in that play, like you might have pursued immediately like a career in music. Cause I felt like you always planned to, like not always planned to,
Starting point is 00:20:08 but like you always thought if you wanted to, you could. But them keeping you down like that, they were, it kind of, I think a little bit, like made you doubt yourself. No, it definitely turned me off to the community because say what you want, like about the theater, but it should be a meritocracy. And I'm sorry, I know you guys think I'm crazy. Like audition was the best and I was like it was very political you know and
Starting point is 00:20:29 I'm dying to name names of like the three people like the students who were like in charge of they had a complex like for the first time ever they were in charge of everyone like I get it let me ask you something where are they now that's an amazing question actually ever since I deactivated my Facebook because I'm a celebrity I like haven't really been able to keep up with so many of my classmates so much so that I was actually with a friend recently and we were going through the yearbook and he was like pointing to someone and I'm like I've never seen that person in my life like it actually it's kind of sucks not to have a Facebook yeah yeah I do agree with that but I guess like if they were somewhere
Starting point is 00:21:02 maybe like we'd know them you know there are there are a couple of kids from my high school graduating class that are like doing big things. Are there? Yeah. You don't have to say who they are, but like what sorts of things? You know, there is a company out there that I think a lot of people know and like. It's like kind of these new healthy food companies. Okay. Started by a girl in my grade.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Go her. And by the way, she was like had the best voice and she actually I don't think went out for the play hmm what did she knew something yeah no like she already knew of the about the corruption it was really corrupt that's what it was and I hate to sound like like just a naggy wench because I didn't get the part that I wanted um but it wasn't a meritocracy and for me that's what I realized like theater is very political the best person doesn't win. And honestly,
Starting point is 00:21:46 people who are heavily involved in the theater are like generally, I'm obviously making a generalization, are generally insufferable. Cynthia Erivo. So like that wasn't a community I wanted to dive into. So you, you took your talent solo to the podcast. They couldn't stop you.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Yeah, they couldn't, they couldn't stop you from being the star that you became. Honey, tell me, gonna have a good time. We gonna get toasted tonight. They couldn't. They couldn't stop you from being the star that you became. Hunnitown, we're going to have a good time. A hand up to this guy. We're going to get toasted tonight.
Starting point is 00:22:09 Well, thank you for sharing your truth. What happened to me in my senior play was also really sad. Tragic. What happened to Jackie? Let me tell you what happened. So senior play is here. As Claudia said, everybody does it. I was never a theater kid because you guys have heard my voice.
Starting point is 00:22:21 However, like I really wanted to be involved in the play. No, Jackie, I'm telling you, the senior play brings out a sense of determination. It's like a spell. A spell comes over you. I actually remember Jackie, like, coming home being like, I'm going off for the play. And we were like, okay. Like, she was so determined.
Starting point is 00:22:35 I was so determined. Plus, the play was really good. It was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. And so I practiced really hard on my bad singing voice. And I sang the climb for my audition. And you guys know, I'm like, I can carry that tune. You can tune you can to a degree to a degree and I got a really great part I got the part of Violet Beauregard like arguably one of the best ones yeah like I couldn't Charlie he's so annoying and dumb like or like for a girl that's one of the best parts like I couldn't
Starting point is 00:22:59 have been happier like oh my god blessed me no and then they canceled the play and I just canceled it and I just want to say like the fact that you got a bigger role in your play is proof of the corruption I was discussing but maybe the corruption and the inner workings of the theater group that you mentioned is what like got the play to the stage and maybe because we didn't have that my ear and there was no one like making those hard decisions like pushing the whole thing through that's why it slipped through the cracks that's actually terrible like look they're always cutting funding for the arts like it's disgraceful it's disgraceful so both of us were stopped dead in our tracks in pursuing a career in the theater I'm going to find that video of me you better I'm going to find that video of me. You better. I'm going to.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Great. But now, now, now I see a brand new you. And I can stop myself from loving every itty bitty thing you do. I absolutely need to see this video. Have you ever seen it? Because you don't even realize that a lot of the toothpaste and dental hygiene products that you use are not fixing bad breath. They're just masking it, very much like a perfume. Starting point is 00:29:07 Our first story, some very exciting pregnancy news. Giselle Bunchen is pregnant with baby number three, her first with boyfriend Joaquin Valente, the jiu-jitsu instructor that she's been linked to for over a year now. People magazine is reporting that they are expecting their first baby together. This will be Giselle's third baby. She has two children with Tom Brady, a daughter and a son.
Starting point is 00:29:32 Her son is 14 and her daughter is 11, just for context. And how old is Giselle, please? 44. That's what's so crazy. 44. Her being pregnant is not a big deal. She's in a relationship, go off queen.
Starting point is 00:29:45 And I feel like she's one of those people who loves being a mother like loves motherhood it didn't change her body like I think it's like not a big deal for her but being 44 that is a big deal and that's really crazy that's some biblical ass shit and I feel like when you are seriously in perfect shape and you take care of your body every day with a green juice and meditation like this is what happens yeah I think it's so beautiful and also what I really like about it is well just life you know a million things that I like but I feel like also when a long-term like couple breaks up usually like the man moves on and if he's with someone younger like he's able to have more children if he wants to but like women biologically like can't do it forever and this is like kind of turning the
Starting point is 00:30:22 tables a little bit that she's doing it and And I agree, like when you are healthy, it reminds me a little bit also of Kourtney Kardashian. Like getting pregnant at a later age, it is possible. And I think this is a great reminder and just a beautiful thing overall. No, I love that take, by the way, like flipping the total gender stereotypes on their head. And I also know that like this is making Tom Brady sick. Like I know it is. It's such an unexpected thing for her to do, but it's a real,
Starting point is 00:30:46 like when you have a baby with someone, like that's a real testament to your love and the longevity of your relationship. Like this isn't just like a floozy and I feel like he's been spotted out with like a couple of models, like really not deep relationship stuff. And I think that like,
Starting point is 00:31:00 I don't, and we know he's like a really family oriented guy. And I think that like this woman, that the mother of his children is like having her own family now like I just know what's making him sick and I love it yeah also like in some ways like this is similar to what happened to him in Bridget like he moved on and had more children and so like now he's sort of like feeling what that is like and I would love in this moment to hear from Bridget I know she's not gonna speak I feel like up until now like I wasn't convinced she was dating the juju instructor And I would love in this moment to hear from Bridget. I know she's not going to speak. Also, I feel like up until now, like, I wasn't convinced she was dating the jujitsu instructor.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Like, I thought maybe she just, like, likes jujitsu. Yeah. Who doesn't? However, I guess they are together. Yes. It has been, you know, just widely speculated up until this point. And they were, like, physically spotted together two years ago. So that's all we have. They go on vacation together.
Starting point is 00:31:41 But, like, maybe she loves jujitsu. A lot of celebrities bring their trainers. Can't go a day without the ju. Yeah. The but like maybe she loves jujitsu. A lot of celebrities bring their trainers. Can't go a day without the Jew. Yep. The jujitsu. The jujitsu. The jujitsu. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:51 So this was really unexpected. Honestly, mostly because of her age. Like I know everyone's going to be like, stop harping on it. Guys, it's really crazy. No, it is biblical. It's biblical. And I think it's a really great thing. No, this is really.
Starting point is 00:32:03 And I don't think about Giselle a lot. Like she's not one of the people who come across my desk. Really, I feel like maybe in a quarterly manner. I really don't think about her a lot. But because she was in the news so much yesterday, I was just like seeing a lot of photos of her, like recent photos. And it's staggering what a Giselle looks like these days. Like she is literally, and I know she was the biggest model,
Starting point is 00:32:23 but she's so insane looking like she really is that bitch and she looks the same now like I would say she's just as beautiful perfect looking now as she was at the height of her career like it's insane and she doesn't look like she's Giselle like her name is actually an adjective at this point like oh I'm not Giselle yeah um however so people were like saying you know and noticing that she wasn't on the Victoria's Secret fashion show whereas a lot of the OGs were and like not to you know make it about us but like it would have been actually like really cool and iconic if she walked and like revealed her pregnancy on the runway I actually completely disagree like it
Starting point is 00:33:00 was such a chaotic clusterfuck like nobody they would have they wouldn't have given her enough screen time to keep a belly like I completely agree but like they needed like that would have been really awesome for them and with nothing for her and I'm sure she would literally never yeah that would have been really great for them just like I think it would be great like to have a pregnant person on the cover of Sports Illustrated that's like what I want to see next what's so funny is I actually do not think of Victoria's Secret when I think of Giselle. Like to me, she's so much more, like I don't think, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:33:33 like even the biggest models in the world, like yeah, Adriana Lima, Alice, like I think of all of them and I think of Victoria's Secret. And I actually didn't even know Giselle walked in Victoria's Secret. I feel like she just did so much more than that in her modeling career.
Starting point is 00:33:43 Yeah, she does more, like there, I agree with you. There are some models that are kind of like forever and always Victoria's Secret in a's Secret. I feel like she just did so much more than that in her modeling career. Yeah, she does more, like, I agree with you. There are some models that are kind of like forever and always Victoria's Secret in a good way. Right, yeah. But Giselle also because she was like Tom and Leo and I guess I'm just like naming her partners and not actually things that she's done, which is a bit of a mix.
Starting point is 00:33:58 No, and by the way, I'm like looking, I just Googled like Giselle model and like there's nothing even remotely recognizable like that I would be like, oh there's nothing even remotely recognizable like that. I would be like, oh yeah, she was the face of Gucci. Like,
Starting point is 00:34:07 I don't know what the hell she did. Yeah. And there's a lot of Victoria's Secret. She's so gorgeous. Like it's really unfair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:18 So, Mazel Tov. All's to say, this is beautiful. To life, to life, L'chaim. She sneezed on the beat. I'm really happy for her.
Starting point is 00:34:28 She sneezed on the beat. And the beat got sicker. L'chaim, l'chaim, to life. She's just the type of person that you could actually sit on Google and stare at pictures of her. And it's actually, you know what she is? As Kim Kardashian would say,
Starting point is 00:34:43 she's extremely interesting to look at. Yeah. She is. and it's actually she's you know what she is as Kim Kardashian would say she's extremely interesting to look at yeah she is well put her with your video for mana that you can look at later and I can't treat for after the show I can't wait to see what that daughter gets into yeah I don't know what she really looks like and she's 11 so she probably like maybe is going through an awkward phase like I don't think what she looks like now is what she's going to look like but uh I could see her you you know, making waves as well. Yeah. Plus, like, her genetics. Same with the sun.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Yeah. You know? I'm sure he's into football. Yeah. I'm sure. So that's very exciting. Are you ready? It is.
Starting point is 00:35:19 It was more so shocking than anything. I know. I agree. I love a shock. It takes a lot to shock me. Yeah. I feel like there's been like a couple of like shocking bits of news recently. Everybody's just kind of acting out. It's true. It's that time of year. That time of year. I am ready. Our next story, some podcasting news. Someone is entering the world of podcasting. my god it's like enough who army hammer oh like
Starting point is 00:35:47 i said it's enough has launched a new podcast joking that he likes the cannibalism scandal so of course the first thing he launches podcasts the title of it is the army hammer time podcast now that's a really bad name. And it had potential. And actually, the name Army Hammer is such a unique name that there are so many different things that you could have done. And I think he wanted to focus on Hammer Time. So, like, why didn't he just call it Hammer Time?
Starting point is 00:36:16 He should have called it Hammer Time. Obviously. That's it. A one-name wonder. What did he call it? The Army Hammer Time Show? Podcast. Awful. The Army Hammer Time Podcast. Five Armie Hammer Time Show? Podcast. Awful.
Starting point is 00:36:25 The Armie Hammer Time Podcast. Five letters. I mean, five words. Tatip. Tatip. So he launched his podcast Tatip on YouTube Monday as he continues to quote, put his life together. He said, some of you are going to love this and some of you are going to fucking hate
Starting point is 00:36:40 it. He said in a clip posted via Instagram while skateboarding in Venice Beach earlier in the day. He explained that the podcast will serve as a journal for him to acquire wisdom from his guests he says i've gone for the last four years i've been gone for the last four years and now i'm back you know what are you gonna do so it's going to be sort of a journal or chronicling of putting my life back together he continued i'll let you into my world a little bit then he sat down with Tom Arnold to discuss personal growth and rebuilding his career.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Who is Tom Arnold? It sounds familiar. Yeah, he's like an actor, a working actor. Yeah, that's a perfect way of putting it. He's a working actor. You might recognize his face, but you don't know him. Armie Hammer is so interesting because he has this sort of,
Starting point is 00:37:24 like we were saying before, determination, much like the ones you and I had during the senior play. Like, he's really not willing to give up his, like, limelight in public life. And I think a lot of times when there are such, like, heinous accusations made against you, like, you just sort of, rightfully so, like, you just give in. Like, there's no Kevin Spacey, right? Like, there's nothing left for you out here. Like go home. And Armie Hammer will not give up. Like he just sort of isn't taking this lying down.
Starting point is 00:37:54 And he really needs to stop. Yeah. Yeah, but I guess with like Kevin Spacey and the other like, you know, egregious actors that come to mind, it's like they're caught up in like lawsuits and stuff and like are maybe going to jail um but he doesn't have that but I feel like sometimes with not with Kevin Spacey but like certain people who get accused of things okay here like Chris Brown
Starting point is 00:38:15 there's like a contingency of people who like still believe and support and want more music I don't know that there's like a large group of people begging for Armie Hammer to return to public life. Right. So like who is this for? For that group of people? Like there's always gonna be one or two, but like if it's large enough to- It's not.
Starting point is 00:38:36 Really monetize, well then you've got a little business. Now let me look at something really quick. I feel like Armie Hammer could like change his name, move somewhere and like get a job like, I don't know, in sales as a realtor. And I think he would have a lot of success in it because he's like really good looking and people would be like,
Starting point is 00:38:52 oh, you kind of look like Armie Hammer. And he'd be like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. And he could like rise the ranks and have a lot of success. Wasn't that a story that he was like selling real estate in the Cayman Islands? Yes, but like as Armie Hammer, like I think he could do like a full identity
Starting point is 00:39:05 change so I went to his Instagram to see like is it what's the engagement like what is what are people saying so his podcast announcement has 2,000 comments which is a lot and the ones that I'm seeing so far like are positive love this idea I can't wait to watch podcast is gonna be awesome King Armie great to see see you king army maybe he has like a lot of restricted words in his comments that he blocks because i don't see one being like but you're a cannonball you definitely can't you're a cannonball you definitely can't write the word cannonball on no not cannonball cannibal excuse me like i feel like it's a blocked comment you know should i just write a comment like cannibal and then quickly delete it uh would you even know like it's a blocked comment, you know? Should I just write a comment, like cannibal, and then quickly delete it?
Starting point is 00:39:48 Would you even know if it was a blocked word? No. And then you're just like hating on, like in the hater section. I have finally got to the hater section. Thank God. Hi, back to the place you were. We don't want to see you as you remind us of how twisted Hollywood is. Really?
Starting point is 00:40:01 Hashtag nobody gives a damn what you have to say. There it is. But you know what? There are are people there are people who will listen to this podcast so as we always say whenever someone launches a podcast like the cream rises may the odds be ever in your favor yeah if you've got it you've got it and nothing can stop you nothing that's the beauty of podcasting yeah you're on your own kid um, I saw something interesting on social media that was kind of lighting up a debate in the podcast space because a lot of people want Kamala to go on Joe Rogan. And he has actually issued an update on his conversations with Kamala. And a lot of people are like, are you kidding? So he said, I have been in contact and she wants to do it, but they want us to come to her in wherever she is, like DC or whatever.
Starting point is 00:40:48 And they've given us a limit of one hour. Now, the Joe Rogan thing is like everybody, Elon Musk, everybody goes to his studio in Austin and they sit for however long the conversation goes. There's no time limit, usually around two to three hours. So a lot of people are either saying like, Joe Rogan, who do you think you are? Like the vice president. And then other people are remarking on really the power of podcasting that you can make these types of demands because it is such an influential show i thought that was interesting i think that is interesting we the trump one came out on friday so we never even talked about it but it's like
Starting point is 00:41:15 breaking every record right and i think they're like kamala's being like oh damn i want that too i think she should 100 do it and i think his terms are fair that like I do, because he said it's not the same if it's not in his studio. But I feel like she's moving around the country. Like she could pop into Austin. I said this last week. People thought I was like saying Trump is more mobile than Kamala. I was saying Trump is more mobile than Joe Rogan. And same for Kamala.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Like she's in a different city every day. Like pop down to Austin, do a little something and then could leave. He's the one who sat so I do think I think like really remarkable and kind of a statement on like the impact of podcasts like you can make these type of demands and like literally people running for president will fly down to your home or wherever his studio is I feel like it's like a touch to his house and come to you like that's kind of crazy yeah but I But I think that like the beauty of his show like is in the format of it being so long.
Starting point is 00:42:09 And the same every time for everyone, no matter who you are, you sit in the same chair. But you really get to like, he gets to know a person, we get to know a person. Like you can, for three hours of someone talking to like listen to them for three full hours, like you really get a sense of what they're about. You can't like really fake it
Starting point is 00:42:24 or have like sound bites for three whole hours. Like you just have conversations. So I think it would be like a great thing for her to do, but she has to do it that way. That's what he said. And I don't think he's budging on his terms. Maybe they could compromise on like him going there, but it will be three hours. One of the things. That's like what they call compromise.
Starting point is 00:42:41 I wonder what's going to happen, but there's only like eight days left. I know. I don't think it's going to happen in time. And you know, I was thinking, cause I know there's only like eight days left. I know I don't think it's gonna happen in time. And you know I was thinking because I know there are a lot of undecided voters and I had a thought that I want to help if anyone's undecided here's what they should do okay. Flip a coin. No no that's terrible like this I actually think is a foolproof way of figuring out who you should vote for. Okay. The person in this world that you hate the most, you need to find, and like who you just think is like an awful person
Starting point is 00:43:08 on the inside, you need to find out who they're voting for and then vote for the opposite. Ooh. I think that's like not a bad strategy. I know. Not like the worst thing I've ever heard. I really have to,
Starting point is 00:43:21 I need to see it. I need to see practical application of policy. Um, but she's onto something perchance. Did you hear that? I did hear that. Oh, speaking of, no, I think it was like, you know, a crane falling. It's fine. The update everyone's kind of been waiting for. I have a lease in hand. When do you move? I don't know. I need to, my lawyer's looking at the lease, making sure I'm not, you know, getting myself into a bad situation.
Starting point is 00:43:51 But once it's signed. Sealed and delivered. Sealed and delivered. So I might need to do like a week of audio only while I get my new studio up and running. Okay. Anything for the new studio. I'm really excited. I'm excited for you and for us and for a new era.
Starting point is 00:44:06 And we will do like a proper goodbye to this facility that has really treated us so well I don't want to get into it because I don't want to get emotional but on to the next on to the next um so yes major podcasting news between Armie Hammer and Joe Rogan and Trump and between Armie Hammer and really like podcasting has been the name on everyone's lips. Oh, you want to know something interesting? I feel like recently when I've been talking to, like, people that I don't know, especially, like, older people, and I tell them that I do a podcast, you know what a lot of people have been saying to me?
Starting point is 00:44:37 You know what they've been referencing? What? Nobody wants this. That's really interesting. That has become the older people like touch point for podcasting especially because like I do it with my sister and it's like swirly and so and you guys know I hadn't watched it yet but now I actually want to watch it to see the representation of podcasting because that's like what people are thinking that we do and is it a good representation
Starting point is 00:44:58 of podcasting? I actually do think it is like they treat it as a real job and like the potential for x y and z and they have all these meetings like with spotify and so it's like taken really seriously and then also like their personal lives have like a real impact on the show because their show is like a dating show and sex and so when she starts dating this rabbi she like stops wanting to like talk about like sluttiness and you know blow jobs and gag reflexes and it like kind of poses an issue for the other sister when it's like that's our shtick um interesting it's kind of poses an issue for the other sister when it's like, that's our shtick. Interesting. It's kind of the intersection of growth and podcasting. It's actually interesting.
Starting point is 00:45:30 I think I would like that angle. And now I feel like I should watch it because that's how people are like seeing our industry. Yeah. No, I think it's a good representation. That is so funny. Well, are you ready for our third story? I am. Not so funny.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Not funny? Not funny. Liam Payne updates. Couple couple updates um so a lot of stuff is coming up about Liam Payne and his previous OD uh prior to his death um where he had to be revived also um he has a Netflix show that was supposed to come out oh um about bands like it's called building the band it was a Netflix show that was supposed to come out about bands. Like it's called building the band. It was a Netflix show that he was a part of alongside Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland.
Starting point is 00:46:11 And now it's like, it's being shelved for a little bit. Oh, but that's kind of like a good idea for a show. Yeah. I don't know what will come of it. I think like, I think eventually it would come out.
Starting point is 00:46:21 I had read somewhere that maybe they wanted to like show it to his family first and like run it by them, but that's what he had been working on. And then also security footage allegedly shows that he fainted before accidentally falling to his death. Oh yeah. So Argentine officials are in possession of security footage showing Liam Payne fainting before falling to his death from his hotel balcony.
Starting point is 00:46:42 A local journalist claimed, uh, the journalist said on Buenos Aires-based TV station Canal 13 show that the video backs up the theory that he was unconscious before he accidentally fell from the third story of Casa Sur Palermo Hotel on October 16th. He said there's footage that is not being released to the media with the balcony scene where you see that Liam faints
Starting point is 00:47:00 and tragically, because of where he is, falls from that balcony. If he had been beside his bed he would have fallen on his bed it's not that he jumped deliberately this footage is in the official case file this journalist says all right i mean i guess there was like a lot of speculation as to whether this was like an attempted suicide or just like purely an accident for someone who was had a lot of drugs and alcohol in their system so if that's true then like i guess that confirms that it was the latter which is so sad yeah so sad did you also see that like Naomi Campbell like had said like made remarks on Liam Payne's death because at one point they had dated
Starting point is 00:47:34 yeah I didn't know that I didn't remember that they had dated if I did ever know it so that was like new news or old new news to me. That was crazy, crazy news for me. Yeah. Yeah. This whole situation is like really so sad. Yeah. Really. Truly. Well, I guess like, you know, getting that sort of closure or at least like.
Starting point is 00:47:57 Knowing what happened in his final moments, I think would probably like. Bring family peace. Closure. Yeah. For sure. For sure. Are you ready for our next story if it's our next story that's brought to you by Peloton perchance perchance it is so Peloton is the convenient and varied instruction that I personally need when it comes to working out so Peloton you obviously know for their fabulous bikes I think a lot of you guys
Starting point is 00:48:20 probably have them in your house and you love them but what I love about Peloton so my gym actually has a Peloton so I'm able to do the classes and I love my membership and I think a lot of you guys probably have them in your house and you love them. But what I love about Peloton, so my gym actually has a Peloton, so I'm able to do the classes and I love my membership and I think it's totally worth it. But you actually don't need a bike to do Peloton. Like they have really great floor classes. I do a lot of their arm exercises. Pretty much anything you could think of. You could take it with you on the go.
Starting point is 00:48:36 So if you're traveling, you're in a hotel room, like you can do workout classes ranging from like five to like 60 minutes. So it's really versatile. It's really like depending on your mood, they have a workout for it. And I really recommend a lot of their like intro to running ones because when I first started running, I had no idea where to start. And somebody did recommend that like the guided walks and the walking slash running classes on Peloton. And I found it so helpful being like, oh, I guess we're not all running for 30 minutes at a time. Like we're
Starting point is 00:49:03 taking breaks. We're walking for one song we're running for another and their instructors are just like all really like cute and great personality and the music is so fabulous so really can't recommend enough having a Peloton membership you can challenge yourself you can choose to not challenge yourself so they have classes that really challenge you to try new things and push yourself like marathon training and boot camps but they also have a variety of classes to help you relax like the the walks, the meditations. So if you're really not wanting to do much that day, like you can just do a nice little walk. Find your push and find your power with Peloton at onepeloton.com.
Starting point is 00:49:32 That's O-N-E peloton.com. Today's episode is also sponsored by BetterHelp. So this month is all about gratitude. And along with the, you know, many reasons you should be grateful, you should also be really thankful to one person in particular. And that's yourself. Yourselves. It's sometimes hard to remind yourself that you are trying to just your best to make sense
Starting point is 00:49:54 of everything. And in this crazy world, that really is not an easy thing to do. So here's a reminder to send some thanks to the people in your life, including yourself. Therapy is one, like, really good way to get in touch with yourself and really learn about yourself and, you know, gather and learn the tools to just take care of yourself. Therapy is one like really good way to get in touch with yourself and really learn about yourself and you know gather and learn the tools to just take care of yourself and if you've been thinking of doing therapy give BetterHelp a try. It's done entirely online so it's really different. It's designed to be convenient, flexible and most importantly suited to your schedule. How it works when you sign up is that you'll fill out a brief questionnaire and
Starting point is 00:50:21 then you'll get matched with a licensed therapist. I think one of the best benefits of BetterHelp, and I think what really draws a lot of people to it, is the fact that you can switch therapists at any time for no additional charge. And it's also just not awkward. I think in-person therapy, it's like really common to not like your first, second, third, like it's just not a good match personality-wise because it's so personal. And they make it really easy. They don't charge you more. It's like not awkward. You don't have to like call and be like, sorry, like I need to cancel next week's appointment. It just takes a lot of like the really uncomfortable parts of therapy out of the equation. So let the gratitude flow with BetterHelp. Visit BetterHelp.com slash toast today and you're going to get 10% off your first month.
Starting point is 00:50:55 That's BetterHelp, H-E-L-P.com slash toast. BetterHelp.com slash T-O-A-S-T. Thank you, BetterHelp, for sponsoring the remainder of today's episode. Thank you, BetterTurt. You're welcome, BetterJurt. Our next story, another new face of Skims, another Skims campaign,
Starting point is 00:51:13 slaying the house down boots. Tate McRae slays in Skims' new holiday campaign in a variety of sexy lingerie and cheeky intimates. So Tate McRae is the burgeoning pop star who reminds me of our sister Margo
Starting point is 00:51:26 because Margo loves her and they also look alike. And she's literally celebrity doppelganger twins with Ariana Bierman. It's the craziest thing ever. Interesting. She is. But like when you look at her in a different light, like I don't see her in Ariana Bierman
Starting point is 00:51:39 because I'm just like seeing her in a different context. Yeah, no, but she's Ariana Bierman. She is Ariana Bierman. She's dating the kid Leroy. Yes. And this is what the kids are up to and Kim's got her finger on the pulse. Yes, this is just like another instance of Skims
Starting point is 00:51:54 like knowing what's good with the kids. They really cover all demographics. Yeah, like from Olivia Munn to Tate McRae. But this is also like kind of a big sort of like stamp of approval for tate mccray because she's very much like a big pop star but she kind of exists like within the internet a little bit and this is like a really big um like opportunity for it i think it'll introduce her to a lot of people who aren't familiar her music she got her start on tiktok and yeah she sells out like
Starting point is 00:52:20 madison square garden but like so does sabrina carpenter like i don't feel like the two are given the same sort of credit no it's like it's a little frustrating for me like as a Tate swirly like I really do like her like it's like why isn't she in the running with Sabrina Olivia and Chap like why is Tate slipping through the cracks I don't know why why isn't she getting there I don't know I think she's like a little confined to the internet like I think if you're not on TikTok you don't know her or her music I'm not on TikTok and I know well I'm a pop swirly so like but you're gonna know if you're not like an avid internet user yeah but like why shocking that she's got the talent she's got the songs she's got celebrity boyfriend why isn't she like one
Starting point is 00:53:03 of them I don't know and actually I was just reading something about her really interesting is that she's not eligible for best new artist this year because there is a limit on how many times you can be submitted for the Grammys best new artist and I guess her team has already submitted her three times I don't know at what point they would have submitted her I heard about her last year but she like she's someone who could have won like yeah I just I don't know why she's like falling behind when she should be right up there with them. So this Skims thing, I think it's like a good push
Starting point is 00:53:29 into like, into the offline community. Yes, yes. But there needs to be more of a push, I think, from her team. Yeah, it's, it does feel like stalled a little bit. Yeah. So, sorry. Do we have Shawn Mendes as a story?
Starting point is 00:53:47 Sorry to ruin your big moment. No why i don't know we have to talk about it okay boot whatever the fifth thing is what boot whatever the fifth story was oh i like the fifth story but um okay our fifth and final story then is sean mendez was making waves at his concert talking about his sexuality. For like the first time. Still figuring it out. So he had a concert in Colorado on Monday, and he's speaking candidly about his sexuality. He said he was weighing in on conversations about sexuality in his lyrics that are like, some days I have a change of heart.
Starting point is 00:54:23 You can say what you need to say. You can say I'm too young. You can say I'm too old you can say I'm too old you can say I like girls or boys whatever fits your mind however that sort of like was in line with things that he said in the past because he's addressed the fact that in the past like people have said that he's gay and like so that's just like a part of his story so um he told a crowd since I was really young there's been this thing about my sexuality and people have been talking about it for so long. I think it's kind of silly because I think sexuality is such a beautifully complex thing and it's so hard to just put into boxes. He said it always felt like such an intrusion on something very personal to me,
Starting point is 00:54:56 something that I was figuring out in myself, something that I had yet to discover and still have yet to discover. Insisting that he's speaking freely now so he can be closer to everyone. He continued, the real truth about my life and my sexuality is that, man, I'm just figuring it out like everyone. I don't really know sometimes and I know other times. And it feels really scary because we live in a society that has a lot to say about that. He said, I'm trying to be really brave and just allow myself to be a human and feel things.
Starting point is 00:55:20 And that's all I really want to say about that for now. Right. So like on its face like he didn't say anything he's not like I'm gay I'm bi like he didn't say a great proclamation but it is the first time where instead of his line thus far has been like people are always commenting on my sexuality like leave me alone and has girlfriends we're like okay but this is the first time he's like well my sexuality is kind of up in the air. And I didn't know that that was a possibility. And to be honest, like, I am so happy for, like, specific gay men in my life who would seriously do anything for Shawn Mendes.
Starting point is 00:55:52 Like, he really is, like, a gay icon without being gay. Yeah. Or, you know, who knows up until this point. And so I think there is, like, thousands of gay men who dream about him. And, like, they actually might have a chance. Like, that is exciting for them. Yeah. To go dream about him. And like, they actually might have a chance. Like that is exciting for them. Yeah. To go out with him.
Starting point is 00:56:07 Yeah. Like, you know, you can have a crush on a celebrity and like, you obviously don't have a chance, but if that celebrity doesn't even like your gender, like you really don't have a chance. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:15 Yeah. But now like, so you're saying there's a chance. So who would you set? Who is it? Who would you set him up? Oh my God. Nobody,
Starting point is 00:56:20 nobody loves Shawn Mendes more than Scotty Kuna. Like he is his dream. Like he is obsessed. And now it's actually a possibility. Yeah. So I'm happy for them. Now, what does this remind me of? Ask me.
Starting point is 00:56:33 Turdi, what does this remind you of? Turdi, what does this remind you of? Joshua Bassett. You're telling me that all these girls, like Camila Cabello, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, bending themselves out of shape getting so heartbroken writing all this incredibly popular famous music over a man who maybe maybe doesn't even like girls like because Joshua Bassett did come out shortly after that saga as like a queer person and he wasn't very specific about what that meant
Starting point is 00:57:03 and then I think he did like go back on it I think he did like something like like a little conversion therapy type of thing I don't know I don't know but there was like a whole thing with his sexuality and it's like oh well we were all fighting over you and like you don't even like either of us like that he could like girls and boys he could he could so and I actually think that's what Shawn Mendes is getting to same at least right now I don't yeah yeah so I don't think it's that like he never liked the girls that he was with like and that they don't still have a chance like but that maybe he's just open to other human beings like but it is sort of giving like a little bit word salad it's giving word salad for sure.
Starting point is 00:57:49 But see, I feel like, here's an example. Like Harry Styles has alluded often to him being like very fluid, right? A lot of his music videos are suggestive of both and some of the lyrics. And he's like, he wears dresses. The imagery, yeah. Yeah, he's very like, you know, whatever. But he's never dated a man, right? Like he's spotted out all the time in these relationships. He's currently dating someone who I actually,
Starting point is 00:58:08 I've been meaning to tell you that I think you should start following because she has a cover of, okay, I just followed her on TikTok. Mom, my way. He's dating, is this a food blogger? No, that was a while ago. She's a singer, but she's kind of like a jazz singer. I think her name is Olivia Dean. She's very old.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Yeah, Olivia Dean. Her Instagram is at Olivia Dino. How do you you spell that D-E-N she's insane looking and her music she has a cover um that's going really viral on TikTok right now like an old stress of like an old Frank Sinatra typey song like I actually think you would like this girl's whole vibe I've been meaning to tell you yeah yeah I'll bookmark it um and so he's someone who we've actually and that's why people accuse him of what what the kids are calling queer mating it's like you use it for like music videos but like where's your boyfriend to be honest when you put it like that that word comes to mind yeah no it's like well are you like yeah like talk the talk but not walk
Starting point is 00:59:00 the walk so that's kind of been a criticism of Harry Styles so I wonder and so I I would personally love to see maybe Shawn Mendes and Harry Styles dating like that like that's a possibility now now I actually don't think that they are compatible and like in a lot of different ways because they're like they're the same right it's like a magnet you have two at the same end and it doesn't click yeah what you're referring to is like I think they're both tops like if I had to guess and I don't know if this conversation is like really out of pocket like I'm sorry if it is but like it's fine um I like I don't think that they would be compatible are you saying that they are of the top variety or that they're just of the same like could they also both be bottoms like
Starting point is 00:59:37 well anything's possible but are they both when they're like are they the elk of tops based on my pretty extensive knowledge of like gay culture and, you know, I am, I've been told like I am a power bottom. I would identify, and you could be wrong about these things, but I would assume, now my gay friends, like please sound off in the comments like if you agree. Like, and also I don't know if like speculating about somebody being a top or bottom is like the most offensive thing. So I'm sorry if it is.
Starting point is 01:00:03 I'm just like, I'm just having fun. I'm just happy for the, I'm excited for the like speculating about somebody being a top or bottom is like the most offensive thing. So I'm sorry if it is. I'm just like, I'm just having fun. I'm just happy for the, I'm excited for the possibilities of what's to come. I feel like they'd be the elk of bottoms. And I feel like that really points to you not knowing much, honestly. No, but I, no, no, no. I feel like I have my reasons and we can chat. The elk of bottoms.
Starting point is 01:00:23 I have my reasons and we can chat offline. Okay, I would love to hear them. I actually don't know if they're the same elk now that I think about my reasons. So maybe they are compatible. Maybe they are. Like a positive and a negative charge. That's what I'm saying, like a magnet. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:34 Click. Click. So. This is just kind of like. You're very excited for like, because there's kind of endless potential here. If he could use. If he doesn't go the route of like Harry Styles
Starting point is 01:00:46 and like saying he's one thing, but then only dating girls, you know? Yeah, I don't think this is that actually. I don't think so either, but it really wouldn't be. Because he could have done that for years. And instead he's been like really adamant that he is hetero. And so I think actually if he's like
Starting point is 01:01:02 really opening up this door, it's because like it's very real to him yeah yeah and I have to imagine if he's like sharing it like he's obviously done a lot of growth and discovery and I don't know I just kind of got to a place where at first I was like oh maybe he is gay but then he was like so not and he said in so many he spoke about it too like you know you everyone's always talking about my sexuality but I am you know what I am that he really convinced me that he wasn't yeah I guess like the reason I feel like what Sean Mendez needs like his space to figure it out and that's probably why I did not choose this story
Starting point is 01:01:33 because it's like I don't even like talking about this so much because it's like he doesn't even know so what do we know right but I guess the the fact that he's admitting that he doesn't know is like the first sort of crack in uh otherwise what's going on no I'm not yeah yeah but it's just like I want to give him space I agree the one thing like he definitely needs is like time and space to to figure all this out yes which means like we have to wait and I guess that's what we'll do because we literally have no choice yeah heard you back together and if that's true actually at the diner today they were playing sabrina she's everywhere she's everywhere and that is so good for society and humanity you guys don't even know we're all eating breakfast like we're getting like a sprinkle of fairy dust so So true. As opposed to like a storm cloud.
Starting point is 01:02:26 Just out of curiosity. Of ugliness. What was the other fit story? It was like pretty big list news. What was it? The Forbes creator list. Can we save it for tomorrow? Because that's like, that's actually, I feel like story number one type of material where
Starting point is 01:02:40 we dive into what everybody makes. Yes. Yes. I just like, I was putting it at the end for like, for us to have a big runway, you know? Yeah, but I actually think- I'm happy to save it for tomorrow, happily. Because I also want to look at the list
Starting point is 01:02:53 and see what shocks me, like about- You want to have- How much money people make. Yeah. And yeah, it's pretty good. So we'll save that for tomorrow. A little teaser. We never do that.
Starting point is 01:03:05 That's what's going on tomorrow. That's what went on today. A little tease. Oh, show a little skin by Sabrina Carpenter. Stream it.
