Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, Millennials! Welcome back to the shows, and happy Wednesday! Oh yeah, oh, I knew I was feeling like a little... A little humpy in your dumpy? Let's get it on! No, I'm feeling more appreciative for the Wednesday because, alas, it feels like a Tuesday. So true. It is a Wednesday and we're getting over the hump.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And what's so great for everyone listening is that we have such a long episode today because like actually a lot to discuss. We have dear toasters. So by the time you're done with this episode, like the day literally will be over. The week will be more than halfway over. And that's amazing. Yeah. Are you someone who looks at the week half full or half empty it really depends on what
Starting point is 00:00:46 I'm going through that week like if I'm feeling grateful for life you know and there are some weeks where I just like I'm I'm happy and like I yeah I have a lot to do and the weeks are long but like I'm alive and I'm you know knock wood healthy like but then there are some weeks where I hate everyone everything and just myself like and I yeah and this week did you say well I wouldn't say I'm feeling like you make your stance clear no I wouldn't say I'm feeling like so grateful and blessed this week like it's not one of those weeks but I'm not feeling like depressed yeah so it's really it's somewhere in the middle okay that's great what about you that's great um as in this week or weeks in general?
Starting point is 00:01:25 Oh my God, this week. This week is great because it's a short week. We cannot feel anything other than blessed for the short week and the big weekend coming up. And I'm so glad my Travi made it to the big game. One step closer to Kelsey being my last name. Can you send me that audio file how do i find that song somewhere on the web like the full version actually does exist what's it called fortnight ai's version oh is that the same tune as fortnight no but when she released the track list oh wait no
Starting point is 00:02:04 i'm sorry no no that's something else i'm getting my No, but when she released the track list. Oh, wait, no. I'm sorry. No, no, that's something else. I'm getting my AI versions confused. When she released the track list, like a leaked Fortnite came out and it was like AI. Got it. Okay, I'll do some due diligence. I don't know the actual origin stories.
Starting point is 00:02:20 I just know and I don't know who exactly. It would be like a full like expose on this person. I don't know who generated the AI song. I don't know like that deep. I just know somebody made it. Like I don't know who generated the AI song. I don't know like that deep. I just know somebody made it online. I don't know who did it but do more. But I know the boys who did it. Even though Taylor literally hates AI in music. She was just saying that.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Oh wait. And I feel like she was literally talking about that song. Did you see Cynthia Erivo's like Instagram story about AI today? Not about AI. Oh yeah because people were like doctoring the Wicked poster. So they released their like official Wicked poster, which is like a recreation of the iconic one where it's like Glinda whispering into the ear of Alphaba
Starting point is 00:02:54 and Alphaba's hat is like a little like turned down. Like it's like iconic. Turned down for what? And they recreated it. And like, I'm not going to lie. I'm really excited for the movie. And like, I thought it stunk. It looked like seriously, it looked wrong. They didn't, they put their own spin
Starting point is 00:03:07 on it, so it wasn't the exact hand placement of the OG. I don't know, it just looked kind of weird, and so people like, fixed it, like they made it how they wanted it to be on AI, and then of course, they made memes, because in the, in the poster, it looks like Alpha, i mean um glinda is whispering a secret to glinda and so the meme that's going around i'm sorry glinda's whispering a secret to alpha and the meme that's going around it's like ariana grande whispering to alpha is your pussy green so cynthia arrivo like made a post about like all the ai generated ones like and then as she said is your asterisk asterisk asterisk green um like basically saying stop like she found them really offensive like she made an intentional choice not to look because in the poster she's um like looking at us
Starting point is 00:03:55 she's looking camp right in the eye in the and in the OG she's sort of like looking down okay and so like they made a few and like Ariana's hand is a little different they made a few choices to make it their own and like people hate it like they really hate it okay and cynthia arriva was like stop using ai and deep bakes like it's so disrespectful everyone including cynthia like needs to calm down on this like first of all people who are mad that she's looking camp right in the eye and that ari's hand is not like the original poster calm down like hands move eyes eyes look in different places like people change not a big deal you don't need to like go and change the poster now that is not a funny joke I feel like I'm in a classroom a teacher like in second grade that is not funny to write that on that picture
Starting point is 00:04:35 I think it is funny sorry like I guess like but that's what the internet does what's crazy to me I didn't see any of this except for Cynthia Erivo's post Instagram telling everyone to stop I think it's like so crazy that Cynthia Erivo like posted about this yeah I think that like this is maybe her first time being involved in a project that is so global and so mainstream like for Ariana Grande everything she does becomes like an internet meme it becomes huge news I think up until now Cynthia Erivo like really hasn't been in something that has captured the culture so widely and it could be a lot like when people are like like making deep fake images of you like it's jarring of course I have to see these deep fake images I'll send them to you I mean some of them are just harmless but she still really doesn't
Starting point is 00:05:19 like anyone like changing her eyes or like her intentional choices, like with the hat and the eyes, she's like upset at. She doesn't want it. I won't do it. It was, it was, I was shocked to see like her addressing like Twitter. I won't do it.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Yeah. Jackie, if you could stop making deep fake AIs of Cynthia Erivo, I would appreciate it. And I know Ariana would too. I'll try my best, but I can't stop making deep fake AIs of tailored songs. I know you can.
Starting point is 00:05:44 And I won't. We have an amazingIs of tailored songs. I know you can't. And I won't. We have an amazing show today. Let me tell you why. One, we're together, period. Per-uge. Classic toast. It's Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:05:56 It's a classic slice. Dear Toasters, we have some hilarious submissions today. Dear Toasters is our weekly advice segment. So every Wednesday, Jackie and I will take three submissions. You can write to us via email, deartoasters at gmail.com or you can head over to our website, thetoastpodcast.com slash tour.
Starting point is 00:06:11 I'm not me like hockey tickets. Sure. Also, you could go there too. And also when you're on toastpodcast.com slash tour, like you could click the homepage and get to Dear Toasters that way. The toastpodcast.com.
Starting point is 00:06:20 There's a submission box. They're both totally anonymous. You can write in about anything and we try to help the girlies out. And today's submissions are really unique so I'm excited to get into that I think the stories are really good the stories are good the big story of the day is Victoria's Secret Fashion Show which I have so much to say I watched the whole thing did you of course I watched it live I felt like really accomplished that I watched the whole thing
Starting point is 00:06:39 I just want to say like shout out because I have critiques I have legitimate critiques I have illegitimate critiques but I want to say my number one like credit like thank you to whoever decided to make the program 30 minutes long like I was done with it and I was like eating dinner I'm like okay I'm ready for bed it was 7 45 I was getting bored but I was like let me see how much more I have left because if it's so much like forget it and it was like 15 minutes I was like Parji I'll watch till the end and I'm glad I did for today's recap. But I was also able to read my book afterwards. I finished my book last night, Long Island Compromise.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Go me. And? It's good. It's not for everyone. It's like definitely very chewy. But I liked some of the overall themes. And the way that it ended, it wasn't about the ending for me. I feel like she kind of didn't know how to end it. But it wasn't about the ending for me like I feel like
Starting point is 00:07:25 she kind of didn't know how to end it but it wasn't like I was like waiting how is it gonna end I just um I don't know it was one of those just like it was kind of a weird book but uh I'm glad that I read it because it's something it's my 14th book of the year womp womp womp oh by the way you're ahead of me I literally have read like three books this year it's insane did anyone in your book club finish Long Island Compromise I don't think so not even the person who chose it who chose it Abe I could see him choosing it um wait I also did want to say the uh tell me lies season finale dropped today slash last night or whatever I've heard it's amazing I'm gonna watch it today we'll do official recap tomorrow um people are saying like it is shook worthy even though it's my favorite show I'm kind of like relieved that it's a season finale
Starting point is 00:08:09 because it gives me anxiety no and like it's so perfect I'm like okay one more episode it's going to remain perfect like they're not so true out like oh wow it's ending like this was a perfect season and so I'm really excited and there are so many theories that people commented on our episode from last week that I think are true. And I do hope they come to fruition today, even though I don't think that they would. I think it's a long-term play. I will get into all of it tomorrow. I just want to say, like, that is something I'm currently looking forward to.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Me as well. And then I'm going to start another book. How about that? Oh, wow. I'm a librarian. How about that? For another book club I'm in it's a first meeting it's the inaugural so what is it you and your neighbors not neighbors not like not
Starting point is 00:08:52 next door neighbors but I guess like community you're yeah you're you and your community but it's not my community but it's like it's extended I understand I understand it's extended um so like what else do we need to talk about before we talk about like what I'm dying to talk about, which is the Victoria's Secret fashion show? Like I actually took notes like a nerd. I was going to write down my thoughts, but I felt so strong. I was like, girl, trust yourself. Like you can remember because like.
Starting point is 00:09:16 Trust yourself. Because they're just at the top of my brain. I think I can remember them. Just really briefly. And I don't want to to get into it so deeply because personally, I need to protect myself, but I just wanted to update everyone from yesterday. I did go to the DMV, and I did do what I needed to do.
Starting point is 00:09:35 It was a worse experience than I could have possibly imagined. And the man who ended up helping me, after being turned away by so many people and being yelled at by so many people and not being helped by so many people and like not being helped by so many people, Anthony ended up coming to my rescue. And he did give me a good tip that I do want to share with people. He was like never come into the DMV on a Monday or Friday.
Starting point is 00:09:54 And because Monday was Indigenous slash Columbus Day, he was like, today's basically a Monday and I've never seen it this busy and you're dumb for coming today. He said, if you came tomorrow, aka right now, empty. Okay. So that's just my, that's my tidbit. Don't go after a federal holiday and don't go on a Monday or Friday. And also don't go looking normal.
Starting point is 00:10:15 This was my major takeaway from the DMV because like I felt so taken advantage of and I'm so polite. Like not that I'm like naturally saying I'm like polite, but you know, when you're at the DMV or somewhere like that, like your kindness will get you places. You catch your flies with honey at the DMV.
Starting point is 00:10:29 That's not true. Okay? I was so, like, nice and normal and, like, sound of mind. And I didn't have headphones in. Like, I was too approachable. First of all, I got walked all over. Yeah. Second of all, my fellow, like, DMV customers.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Like, everybody was asking me things. Like, I fucking work there. Like, don't talk to me. And it was just so unpleasant. yeah second of all my fellow like DMV customers like everybody was asking me things like I fucking work there like don't talk to me and it was just so unpleasant I was like and there was something like you know you know the DMV it's full of characters I was like and it's New York too and it was like Penn Station so it was like real real eclectic bunch nobody was talking to like the crazy looking people I needed to like seriously start barking at people because I was far too sane and sound of mind and like like, I looked so like, I looked capable. Like I'm on my phone. I'm a young person. Like I obviously know how to use
Starting point is 00:11:09 technology, the TV with the numbers. Like I, I was far too sane for this place. Like everyone wanted a piece of me. And because you weren't insane, they weren't trying to get rid of you. You know, maybe if you started talking to yourself a little bit. Oh, and I had to take a picture, which I wasn't going to be told that I needed to and so they called me up first to like do the picture and then you have to wait in another line for like the actual ID and he gave me like no warning no nothing and like I think I looked I was just like that's the thing about the DMV you don't get ready you have to stay ready I know and I wasn't because I was already feeling so flustered by the experience what smile did you go with I went with my like cheesy smile
Starting point is 00:11:46 but like I have this new thing you hit him like the teeth I of course where I smile so hard so every time I smile it's like right as I'm smiling I need to remember like chill it down yeah and so like I unclench a little bit I actually think I did a good smile and then Anthony um I was like can you show me the picture and he was like I, I'm not allowed, but you look great. You have a beautiful smile. Slay. Okay, Anthony. You can call me Mrs. DMV. Mrs. Anthony.
Starting point is 00:12:12 It was really horrible. And just knowing that, like, I left there and I was like, I will not pay my next tax bill. Like, it was so disheartening to know that, like, this is my fault, you know? Like, as a taxpayer taxpayer what am I doing I'm not doing it anymore I was so mad oh my god like I had to it took me I got home and like took a bath I had to like actually unwind from the experience it was so upsetting if I may lead us out in song an AI generated one I'm so glad my auntie made it to the dmv one step closer to getting my real id
Starting point is 00:12:51 i love that let me just say this what's the lesson right what's the lesson what is the takeaway don't waste attorney when she's on a breakaway and the tapestry here in turd skin is a map of the victory she wins look what she does i make everything happen look at me me me mario what can i say what's the lesson right what is the takeaway my takeaway is this because i was left with such a profound impact mostly negative overwhelmingly negative but Anthony like really you always I know I know I'm such a flirt there was Mark yeah then there was Frank yeah and there was Tom yep when I got up to his desk like I immediately knew he had listen he had like a warm spirit to him and I could tell that like this was going to be
Starting point is 00:13:46 a pleasant experience and he got me in and out as quickly as he could and I just think that real real grace and kindness like it goes a truly long way even though you just said the opposite I know I mean from a DMV employee nobody else like oh yeah for sure and you're probably like working in the wrong place if you've got a positive can-do attitude yeah because then the other person who like they skipped my number I really don't want to get into it but like we're not getting into it because that's the only thing I could like prolong make it worse I know is we just have to leave it in the past okay but I just want to say like they skipped my number and like I went over to the like help desk I'm like oh hello they skipped my number they literally I'm 103 they went from 101 to 104 I'm like me and
Starting point is 00:14:24 number two like we got we got screwed and like she was so mean and her solve was to tell me to get into like she pointed to one of the lines the longest line I'm like so you skipped my number and I have to wait in this line like okay you know what I'm getting angry again I don't want to talk about it because we all have to go to the DMV at a time in our lives yeah so no need to spend more time at the DMV in our minds agreed like and I it's a slippery slope like once you start talking about it you have to like then go into the whole experience and oh and my coccydynia was really really flaring up it wasn't like a cock so it wasn't an accessible
Starting point is 00:14:57 environment no and so when they call my number I couldn't even get up it took me like 35 seconds my ass was killing me. That's tough. Now I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. I'm done. Okay. We're moving on.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Let's start. Let's go. Okay. Let's get into the Fast Five Stories that you need to know. Oh my God. Not me like forgetting my actual job. The Fast Five Stories that you need to know are brought to you by AG1, Ben Sopper Celebrity's absolute favorite brand to ever exist.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Actually, Ben Sopper Celebrity, when we did a panel last week, met the founder of AG1 and he was like actually starstruck. So AG1 is kind of like changing people's lives. If you feel like you don't really have a good morning routine, you lack energy and you want to get some prebiotics, probiotics, gut support, digestion support, reduction in bloating, staying regular, check out AG1. When I drink my AG1 first thing in the morning, it'll feel like you really don't even need coffee. It'll give you an energy boost, and it doesn't have that caffeine crash like coffee does. And you're also giving your body the nutrient support that it needs to power throughout the day. In a research study,
Starting point is 00:16:00 97% of participants felt digestion improved after 90 days of drinking AG1. And in a research study, 80% of participants noticed less gas and less bloating after 30 days of drinking AG1. Throwing it into your daily routine will get you so many benefits, especially digestion. I think a lot of us, in the mornings, we really try to evacuate. Take a dump. Yeah, well, that too. And AG1 is just such a great thing to add into your routine. It has all non-GMO ingredients
Starting point is 00:16:25 and it has no added sugar. They help fill nutrient gaps, support your gut for healthy digestion, and just one scoop daily provides the whole body benefits like gut immune and stress support. So start with AG1 and notice the difference for yourself.
Starting point is 00:16:37 It's a great first step to investing in your health and that's why they've been a proud partner of The Toast for so long. Try AG1 and get a free bottle of the vitamin D3K2 and five free AG1 travel packs with your first purchase when you go to drinkag1.com slash toast. It's a $48 value for free, but only when you go to drinkag1.com slash toast.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Today's episode is also brought to you by Prolon. Did you know that there's a nutrition plan that doesn't just help you lose weight, but actually has been shown to lower your biological age score? a nutrition plan that doesn't just help you lose weight, but actually it's been shown to lower your biological age score. It's called Prolon by El Nutra. And the craziest part is that it includes food, but it is a fast. So Prolon is a revolutionary plant-based nutrition program that nourishes your body while making cells believe that they're in the state of fasting. So fasting has so many benefits, but obviously like it's fasting. Like we just did it for Yom Kippur. We don't want to do it. And Prolon is so fabulous because you're basically, like, tricking your body into thinking that it's fasting. And you're getting all the benefits of fasting without actually, like, not eating or drinking anything.
Starting point is 00:17:31 It's researched and developed for decades at the University of Southern California Longevity Institute. And it's backed by leading U.S. medical centers. Prolon helps promote healthy blood sugar, support cardiovascular health, and reduce abdominal fat. It's not a diet. Prolon is science. And it's science based on Nobel Prize winning discoveries in medicine. All of it starts with their five-day program and includes snacks, soups, and beverages. And it's all designed to keep your body in a fasting state. It's really unlike anything you've ever experienced. It's kind of been a celebrity secret for a really long time.
Starting point is 00:17:55 I feel like celebrities have been on the Prolon train for a while and now so many people are getting hip to it. Right now they're offering toast listeners 15% off their five-day nutrition program. That's like the, I think the most like accessible way to start. If you go to prolonlife.com slash toast, that's P-R-O-L-O-N life.com slash toast for our special offer. Prolonlife.com slash T-O-A-S-T. It is not a diet. It is science and try the five-day program and get 15% off. Today's episode is also brought to you by Skims. So there are different types of women out there, right? You happen to be speaking to two women who, like, need bras.
Starting point is 00:18:32 And we're not just talking about, like, bras. We're talking about bras. We have breasts that have been through things. We have brassieres. We have brassieres that have been through, you know, major life changes, major weight losses. Like, we need support for our backs, for our breasts. And I can really cannot sing the praises of Skims bra enough,
Starting point is 00:18:48 especially their t-shirt bra. It's like one of my favorite. They are comfortable. They are flattering. And for me specifically, like I actually was going to physical therapy because my back was hurting me so much after I lost weight and it didn't work. And it turned out that like I actually just needed a new bra. I went to Skims.
Starting point is 00:19:03 I got the t-shirt bra. And when I tell you I never went back to physical therapy it's a crazy thing the best thanks yeah given what I've been through yeah um so it's the fits everybody t-shirt bra it is the best bra it's a great everyday bra it's supportive and I think what people love most about Skims is one their range of colors like to match all different types of skin tones and two they're super size inclusive I think they have yeah 62 sizes They have every type of bra. Like the bras that I wear, I'm not a girl who can just like not wear a bra
Starting point is 00:19:27 even like around the house or to sleep. I wear what I like to call my relaxation bras, like their cotton jersey bra, eraser back and scoop neck. It's really just like whatever type of bra you need, go to Skims. Like they're gonna have everything that you need. So shop Skims bras at skims.com,
Starting point is 00:19:40 now available in 62 sizes. So they go from 30A up to 46H. And if you haven't yet, be sure to let them know that the toast is at you. After you place your order, select podcast in the survey and select our show in the drop down menu that follows. Thank you to the turt down menu that follows.
Starting point is 00:19:55 You're welcome. Jert down menu that follows. Our first story, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is back after a six year hiatus. Victoria's Secret Fashion Show returned this year. The show went down in New York City last night, and the girlies were on display.
Starting point is 00:20:10 So I have so much to say about the show, the set, the music, the outfits, everything, and I want to get into that. Now, I know everyone's so tired of hearing me talk about this, but I could not enjoy the show. I was watching, and I actually was, like, enjoying with, you know, I was thinking what I'm going to say on the toast the next day. And I will get into all of that, but, like, I would be absolutely remiss
Starting point is 00:20:31 if I didn't acknowledge, like, the fucking slap in the face when I saw Bella Hadid closing that show. Like, Gigi Hadid is, like, I don't know. I don't know why I, like, give her a pass. Like, I can ignore her, like, blatant anti-Semitism. Her sister. They post different stuff. But she posts really bad stuff.
Starting point is 00:20:46 But like when you compare it to her sister, it's like Gigi is Jewish. Like compared to Bella. Like it's insane. Like Bella is so atrocious to me. Like I find her so personally offensive. And I'm not even like easily offended. And just to see like her have this moment, it was such a slap in the face. When it's been so clear that in the last year, like so many brands have distanced themselves from Bella Hadid like she used to be the face you go to an
Starting point is 00:21:07 airport she'd be all over duty free that's not the case anymore nobody really wants to be associated with that type of like hatred right she's so controversial like it's such a stark choice to have her in the show it was a choice close the show and that it was a choice and she closed it it's like fuck you Jews no I was so upset like I I was so shocked to see her there they didn't announce that she was going to be there and I don't know it was so it was like deeply offensive to me I couldn't get over it and and it ruined the whole experience for me because I was like enjoying it up until that point and and like I I think like there's there's room in everything for for different
Starting point is 00:21:47 people with different opinions on stuff like Bella Hadid is so different to me like she is such she has said the most vile things like on par with worse things than like actual terrorists like you know the hostages like yeah don't forget she was excited that the hostage uh said that Hamas had baked him a cake for his birthday, only to taunt him with it. But she said, look, he baked him a cake. Like, she is pro-hostage taking. When, like, literally, Hersh Goldberg's mom has just, like, said exactly what her son went through after being hostage for 10 months and being shot right in the fucking head.
Starting point is 00:22:17 She told us that they were kept in tunnels underground with no oxygen, no water, no food, no bathroom. They were emaciated by the time that they were killed, malnourished, starved, and tortured. And this is something Bella Hadid champions. I'm like, I'm sorry, I can't talk about the show without talking about how upset that made me. It was such a choice, and it was so intentional. And not only to put her in there, but make it a big thing at the end, like the final walk before Tyra.
Starting point is 00:22:41 There were so many icons in the show. When I saw her at the end, I was like, oh oh why is she only walking once? Did I miss her earlier? Yeah. Then I realized it was like she was closing it but it's like there's Adriana Lima, there's Candace Swampland, there's all these angels throughout the years. Who built that brand. So many icons they could have picked. It was such a choice and a random one at that because it's not even. She's not associated with. She's not an iconic victorious secret person actually one of my critiques was that there was too much talent and that we didn't get to see like our girls they were on screen i mean justice for jasmine toques who literally got cut out of
Starting point is 00:23:13 the show and she's everyone's favorite my biggest critique is the camera work because it was so terrible they were missing all the big moments they were capturing someone as they're turning around we missed their strike and pose. Even when they see the strike and pose, it wasn't punched in enough. It was shit. Not, I feel like I sound like one of those people that like complains about like the plot line in a porno,
Starting point is 00:23:33 but the camera work at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was atrocious. So they didn't need her. And so it really was a choice. And I just, I'm going to talk about the show and I have really positive things to say overall. But like, to me, that was such a miss and such a slap in the face and of course like now you know her fans are mad at her because Victoria's Secret is a brand that operates and like has
Starting point is 00:23:52 factories in Israel so it's like one of the biggest manufacturers is an Israeli company they actually opened two like honestly slay Victoria's Secret they opened two stores in Israel this year like during the war slay the house down boots supporting the Israeli economy like I think that so she's also a fraud yeah I think that speaks to like Bella not even knowing what she stands for and also the fact that like Victoria's Secret corporate is very different than Victoria's Secret like marketing entertainment division of like let's do this show and throw all these different things at it. So I just wanted to say that, like, sorry to like get all serious,
Starting point is 00:24:27 but it had to be said because it really like, I was shocked. It hit me right to my core and I was like, oh, it's ruined. So there's that. And like this, I'm sorry. This is a person who has literally
Starting point is 00:24:35 admitted openly on a podcast that she's not allowed in the homes of her Jewish friends anymore. Like, please. And I don't know, would she say that as like a slay? I don't know. Like, I think she wanted us
Starting point is 00:24:42 to like feel bad for her because of how brave she is. I'm not just saying that like, you know, if you don't know like I think she wanted us to like feel bad for her because of how brave I'm not just I'm not just saying that like you know if you don't agree with me you can't be in the Victoria like it's so stupid I'm pretty sure like everyone in the show like is diversity by the way they had an Israeli model like diversity of opinion is really I embrace it sure what Bella Hadid does is so damaging and so different I don't embrace it no I'm not like I'm seriously like it's not just like me I don't agree with no I'm not like I'm seriously like it's not just like me I don't agree with it I don't want no like seriously she's such a dangerous person and I I was personally offended so but I want to move on because I actually have other notes and for
Starting point is 00:25:14 the most part I enjoyed like it did bring back this sense of nostalgia now when it comes to like actual like production I have a lot of critiques but I just want to say like overall, I actually really enjoyed it. Like it was fun. It was back like it used to be. Like I really, I thought they captured like the nostalgia of it all. Overall, I was excited to watch it because I was like sitting there like waiting to see what would wash over me. Like what sort of feeling like we're back or this or that. And I felt mostly confused. I'm'm like what are we doing here aside from the fact that it's called the Victoria's Secret fashion show like there was nothing Victoria's secret about it in terms of like what are you selling there used to be like the pink segment the lingerie segment like I thought that the costumes were pretty ugly there were some better ones but
Starting point is 00:25:59 overall there was something really ugly stuff some really ugly wings it wasn't gargi pargi no the wings were not winging some of the people who were wearing like leggings outfits were so ugly looking but the outfits were like adriana lima's outfit like not a cute outfit it doesn't make me want to shop at victoria's secret when you want to talk about tyra banks's outfit like we will talk about outfit was so she deserved better than that like pargy she was wearing black leggings right to the victoria's secret fashion show there was a lot of like really bad fashion and so it just made me wonder like are we trying to sell clothes here we're not doing a good job this is for victoria's secret like what are you guys up to these days there was no one was even like in the past there used to be packages which
Starting point is 00:26:41 was actually my least favorite part but like like they told a story. Explain. They just like had Tyra narrating at the top like this show, all women. So I guess that means like only women work behind the scenes. I think I'm just trying to piece together because they didn't really like tell us anything. What about talk about like they kept saying we're back. Where'd you go? What happened? It's been six years. Like what's everyone up to?
Starting point is 00:27:01 It just sort of like did nothing. I thought that the runway was really ugly and terrible. There wasn't a runway. It was so industrial. That's so not Victoria's Secret. It was so industrial. That's so not Victoria's Secret. All the like squares on the runway where people like kept popping up.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Like we don't need people to pop up. It's making your runway ugly. Did you see Dootson? Like her foot got caught in that thing. Her shoe fell off. Yeah. And it was just like a very ugly stage. That, people coming up out of the ground, like we didn't need that.
Starting point is 00:27:30 And it ruined the stage. Yeah. The whole like warehouse industrial vibe. It's a certain aesthetic. It happens to be one of my least favorite aesthetics, but that doesn't mean that it's bad. But it's so not Victoria's Secret. Victoria's Secret is like plush, glamorous. And I felt like where was
Starting point is 00:27:45 the actual like there was no physical runway which I think was a huge miss. Agreed and when like the lights went down everything was like so matrixy but it's not even like that was the theme of the show like futuristic and there usually is a theme. I didn't think like the themes were that like good or well articulated. There was like red at the end there was some like midnight's vibes my overall like biggest issue with the show was the music selection I think that performers I thought they were all bad choices except honestly Tyla Slade like she and I liked that like is that Lisa from Blackpink yeah I like that like she literally looked like a model Tyla too I was like oh are you a model or a singer um but I think when you look back on like the the performers of your like not nobody
Starting point is 00:28:30 last night did anything on par with like Rihanna Bruno Mars Jay-Z and Kanye um Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy like but they weren't having any men okay fine but I don't care I'm just saying like I knew one song yeah I mean honestly Katy Perry should have performed 1000% the music wasn't pussy pop and I actually thought the performers were all good choices but the songs as they were and maybe my tv was on low um just like not wake anyone up but um still I don't feel like the girls were like dancing around to the songs or like having a lot of fun with the songs Lisaisa's song moonlight just repeating that one line over like paris moonlight like was seriously like irritating to me where are the other lines
Starting point is 00:29:10 from kiss me that song you know it yeah you're talking about like kiss me yes but she kept saying what about green green grass all she kept saying was kiss me under the paris moonlight on repeat 100 times i was going to lose my mind i'm sorry I actually don't think any of them were good choices like I I don't think the songs were recognizable enough and no one is gonna like what I have to say when it comes to Cher it it did absolutely nothing for me first of all that was the first time people were the models were singing along oh well that's the other thing I wanted to say I felt like they well because nobody knew the music right right so at least Cher had recognizable songs Cher's songs are great but when it comes to Cher like and I have I I was texting with Shannon the whole time we were like talking about she had
Starting point is 00:29:54 such a good call yeah actually I like had a big Shannon day yesterday we like spoke on the phone for like an hour um she was like Cher is just and it's and I'm stealing it but it's so true like Cher is just too accessible right she's like, but it's so true. Like Cher is just too accessible, right? She's like this icon status, but she's literally popping up everywhere. It's like not special anymore. And to be honest, like, and of course she's a woman of a certain age. She can only do so much, but she wasn't singing live. And like, I think that that should be, that's like the best part of the show.
Starting point is 00:30:17 When you think of in the past, like the vocals, it's just, I don't know. It did not do much for me. And I, yes, I agree. I like that. It's a song. Her songs are songs. And you have to think about the, I agree. I like that it's a song. Her songs are songs. And you have to think about the models. They're from all over the world.
Starting point is 00:30:29 So just because a song is popular in America, and I feel like in the past, everybody knew everywhere to every song because they chose people with global hits. Yeah. So that's the only thing Cher had. But I think, seriously, I didn't like it. I understood why they chose the people that they did.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I think they were good choices, but then it just didn't like translate. Oh, and oh my God, Laney Wilson. That was Laney Wilson, right? No,
Starting point is 00:30:55 that wasn't. I have no idea who that guitar player was, but it was not Laney Wilson. Are you sure? I'm 1000% positive. She was just wearing bell bottoms. Laney Wilson doesn't own bell bottoms. I'm cracking up. Why wouldn't that beainey Wilson pants She was just wearing Bell bottoms Lainey Wilson doesn't Own bell bottoms
Starting point is 00:31:05 I'm cracking up Why wouldn't that be Lainey Wilson If it was Lainey Wilson Why wouldn't she have Sung I thought she was Singing I love rock and roll
Starting point is 00:31:12 No she just She must be like A famous guitarist I have no idea who it is Claudia I think it was Lainey Wilson What's her name Oriathi
Starting point is 00:31:20 She's like a guitar player Okay well I really liked Lainey Wilson's segment Because those were Recognizable songs Like when the girls were singing I love rock and roll and then they got the like the leather black vibe for the runway like okay we're doing something thank you like there's energy. Yep. The show didn't have energy at times and even when the girls were like trying to like do their thing like the camera was missing them. They had the camera missed everything.
Starting point is 00:31:45 They had two girls walking down the runway parallel. And like, you only really got to see one or the other. They had these like cameras on the floor, like trying to follow them. It was the camera work was a mess. Sorry. The camera work is a mess.
Starting point is 00:31:57 I agree. Far too many people on stage at once. Nobody had their own moment. Even people that opened the show. I'm like, wait, is that the opener? Like it really wasn't special. I think there was far too much talent. Even people that opened the show, I'm like, wait, is that the opener? Like, it really wasn't special.
Starting point is 00:32:05 I think there was far too much talent. And also, the vibe was so, and I know everyone's, like, gagged over Kate Moss. What I think Kate Moss, I do not think Victoria's Secret. Victoria's Secret is so commercial. It's so, like, not serious. And I thought, like, so many of the girls were doing, like, such serious model walks and model faces when in history, like, previously, everyone's been smiling. They put their hands in the air. They dance. They sing. It's been so fun but previously everyone's been smiling they put their
Starting point is 00:32:25 hands in the air they dance they sing it's been so fun and it's been so not runway and this was just so like serious fashioning like Kate Moss she's like we love she's sick she's not Victoria's Secret it's like they don't know who they are anymore so they just hired everyone and they did everything and Carly Koss let's talk about Car and Cara Delevingne let's talk about Kendall I think yeah but Kendall's the glaring I'm sure we could have a whole list of people
Starting point is 00:32:48 who used to do it who weren't there Kendall was the one like because I was thinking where's Miranda Kerr where's Miranda Kerr but I think she's at a place in her life
Starting point is 00:32:55 where it's like she's evolved a little bit past it and I don't know if she looks back on that time positively I think she's like had said stuff
Starting point is 00:33:02 in the past like in interviews just about like personal things in her life I don't know if she like loves it. Kendall. I feel like is Kendall the face of, she must have some sort of contractual like issue
Starting point is 00:33:13 because I feel like maybe she's the face of La Perla. Oh, maybe. Or Intimissimimi. Yeah, Intissimimi. Intissimimini. So I feel like that's why she wasn't there, but it was a huge miss, honestly, because like she only did it once but it was a huge miss honestly because like but like she only did it once that huge miss for them because like it would have
Starting point is 00:33:29 like rounded out and like you wouldn't have been like feeling as many gaps but like not for her I I just I don't know the whole thing was just kind of like forgettable yeah yeah now that we're like breaking it down like maybe I didn't like it but I actually I don't know I enjoyed the experience of watching it like I'm I'm it's a good like it was always a fun thing in the culture and like fun that it's back but like it just it wasn't iconic in any way no it wasn't iconic I think they tried really hard to be iconic but there was like honestly too much going on and the photos from the evening are like much more iconic than the actual show because we didn't get to see an iconic moments because the camera operator was drunk yeah the camera operator like was really not doing what needed to be done and lastly um wait I just had
Starting point is 00:34:17 oh and you know who I was really taken by and I didn't know who it was and then when I found out who it was I was like oh Barbara Palvin my queen I know her I knew who it was. And then when I found out who it was, I was like, oh. Barbara Palvin, my queen. I love her. I knew who that was. Victoria Chiaretti, Leo's girlfriend. Oh, my God. Wait, I didn't realize she was there. She was in the show twice. Both times I was like, who is that?
Starting point is 00:34:35 Like, it's a new fresh face model. I was like, she's so gorgeous. And then I saw that that's Leo's girlfriend. And I was like, OK. OK, but I need to see. And she's 26. So that's something. What's her name? Vittoria. 26 so that's what's her name Vittoria no hold the C oh Vittoria yeah sure Vittoria's secret Vittoria's secret
Starting point is 00:34:54 oh here oh yeah yeah yeah I love that yeah and she's 26 so she's frontal lobe do you think it was weird uh between Irina Shake and Gigi Hadid yes and let me tell You what I also thought was but first All Irina shake looked amazing and I Know that page six tries to make her Seem like a desperate loser but she know She's cool she's the most gorgeous woman
Starting point is 00:35:14 On the planet like seriously the most Gorgeous woman up there what was weird Was in backstage interviews Irina was Saying how her daughter is like gonna Watch probably tomorrow you know but She'll like watch the show and then Gigi Was asked like something about where's Bradley and she was said that he's on dad duty and they're definitely watching it together to like no it's weird some girl down the road like talking about your daughter about your daughter like it's weird I completely agree
Starting point is 00:35:39 there's like a couple of like weird like relationship types things people. Do you remember that Victoria's Secret model the year Taylor Swift performed who like said something nasty about Taylor in the press and literally got fired? Yeah. Jessica something with a gap tooth. I think she was there last night. I'm like oh. Obviously went into the archives.
Starting point is 00:35:59 Interesting. As they should go into the archives. I also don't think it's weird that Karlie Kloss wasn't there. Like I think she's really evolved out of modeling and specifically like lingerie modeling. Like she's married to like someone who's like connected to a president. Like she can't be like out here in her underwear, you know?
Starting point is 00:36:14 No, I agree. I do agree. Like she's been to the White House probably. Maybe? Probably not with them. No, but like she might have been to the White House in some capacity. Yeah, but I feel like some of the other girls probably go to the White House too
Starting point is 00:36:27 now I want to say why are there so many models with the last name Sampeo it's a great question in my like fantasy they're all sisters but like they're not no they're not like Valentina Sampeo was like this new model last night I'm like like, wait, is she related to Sarah Sampea? That's like Irina Shayk and Shanina Shayk. Yeah, not related. The thing is like, if I just, I can just think that they're related. Like it makes no difference to the world. But like in my mind, it's really nice. I want to say like, it's really impressive to me that like the most sickening looking
Starting point is 00:37:00 ladies were like all older. Like Adriana Lima, ace Candace who's literally like when you think of Victoria's Secret you think of you really do think of Candace like who got literally one minute where was the million dollar bra the fantasy bra like where was she she got no screen time um they looked like it was actually that's inspired oh I remember what I was gonna say what's so interesting about Victoria's Secret and, what I was really interested to see in what they're going to do, is the biggest critique in how they really have, like, failed to enter this new modern times was, like,
Starting point is 00:37:32 their unwillingness to give on really body diversity, right? Like, they maintained for a while that, like, you know, it's a fantasy and we're not going there. Like, we're just not. And that was a huge critique. And I think part of the reason why the show like didn't, you know, make it in modern times. And I was curious to see how they were going to do it. And I have said this in the past, and as somebody who was like fat my whole life, like inclusivity is great, but I always find like when they do start being inclusive of other bodies, it's never in like a way they're like,
Starting point is 00:38:04 this is real. Like it's always in a way they're like, this is real. Like it's always in a way that's like, like it's like unattractive almost. It's like they've given up the fantasy thing. Yeah, there's not like the glamour anymore and it's just real. Now everyone's included, right? We're not airbrushing anymore. Why? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Like it just, and so I do want to say to their credit, I think they did a really good job of like having a wide range of bodies, mid-size and curvy without like forsaking that glamour I agree with that and I thought it was really nice we didn't even talk about the fact that Ashley Graham was there for the first time I didn't realize me neither reading the recaps that it was the first time and that that was a big deal and then I also saw like Daily Mail was writing how like they did stuff that they hadn't done in the past in terms of like keeping it real and one thing I don't know if this was intentional I don't want it to be real there was a lot of tan lines I think in the past they would like airbrush they would like you know I did see someone's
Starting point is 00:38:52 vagina line there was a lot of tan lines I think that was them keeping it real oh please like keep your tan lines I don't care yeah weird no I that to their credit I think they were able to like modernize a little bit without losing that like whole the whole point is that it's like fantasy like you can be like glam and stuff and have big legs like who cares. Yeah. I just feel like any time when I think of like real campaigns with real women it's like always like they're not taking out their pimples.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Why? They're not wearing makeup. Why? Yeah. We just have glam or two. Yeah I think on that front it was achieved But in terms of like why are we here? What are we doing? That question was not answered.
Starting point is 00:39:29 And it didn't make me want to go shop at Victoria's Secret. No. Because I thought that the costume design was not strong. I feel like it almost felt like. I don't know. Is this going to become another annual recurring thing? Or it kind of just felt like this one time thing. We're throwing everybody in. I don't know if they this going to become another annual recurring thing? Or it kind of just felt like this one-time thing. We're throwing everybody in.
Starting point is 00:39:45 I don't know if they can afford to keep doing it like this. It didn't feel like they were back, like, every year. It didn't feel, it felt kind of, like, final, cumulative. I think that they need to be back every year. And what I also liked is I felt like I saw a lot of new faces that I had not seen before. And it was a lot of, like, talent discovery, which is what Victoria's
Starting point is 00:40:05 Secret used to be like great at no and it should be cutthroat by the way like you can't make it every year there's only so many spots not everybody's invited yeah like it needs to be like 20 girls every year even if you're at the top of your game maybe this year's not the year for you like it should be like a little competitive yeah not just like you know we're all winners yeah I think that it doesn't make sense if they don't bring it back again now like i think they need to if they want it to mean anything um especially because this was like so short it's not and they didn't say anything it's not like they said like we're back one night only victoria's secret reunion that would have been
Starting point is 00:40:41 something that's what it felt like reunion because everyone was invited yeah but reunion happens once every five or ten years right right right no i don't know i don't know what this means for the brand i don't think they know what it means for the brand and that came through yeah yeah yeah so all in all though like watching it like eating pizza back in the day critiquing everyone like that's the fun of being a woman. Yes. Yes, it is. Like being a slob and a half and just like sitting there being like ugly, ugly bikini. There was one girl who walked down the runway and the camera, I'm not over the camera, was filming her shoes like the whole time. And probably spent like eight seconds on her shoes in one second on her face. Like what are you showing? The camera work was, was by the way let's say it all in unison
Starting point is 00:41:25 justice for jasmine toques justice for jasmine she got so screwed and let me say i think she was one of the people people were most looking forward to and then there were some people who like he went by in the blink of an eye because they were coming down the runway in twos and there was people two feet behind them and there were some people whose walk never ended no and by the way they didn't send the models back for the most part. They walked off camera. They kept walking straight. That's weird.
Starting point is 00:41:47 I think they thought that was a slay narrator. It was not a slay. No, everybody's screen time cut in half. Yeah. It was weird. It was weird. The stage direction was bad. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:58 But I just want to say, with all my critiques, I actually enjoyed it. Yeah. If I didn't enjoy it I would have turned off and I watched the whole thing oh people are really mad about the Victoria's Secret hair I saw that's not something that I noticed when I was watching it but then when people said it I was like oh yeah that's that's pretty fair because usually they have like the glam in in right historically has been like very feminine bouncy bouncy blowout, light makeup, like really very like feathery. And this time was a lot of like Slickback Buns eyeliner, very Matrix-y like you said.
Starting point is 00:42:32 I do think that's like a little bit more of the trend now, like in glam, like everybody's wearing Slickback Buns. But no, do I think it is Victoria's Secret? No. No. And yes, it's a trend right now. But like but like you know voluminous hair never goes out of style yeah glam natural makeup never goes out of style so yes now looking back at the pictures and some people had um reasons for their hair like I saw some like really cute like ponies or whatever but then some people were wearing like their hair blown out down and it's like you it should have been more judged and I do think that is a fair critique so yeah me too hair and makeup also not on point yeah so that's the Victoria's Secret fashion show Victoria are you ready for our next
Starting point is 00:43:14 story switching gears in a major way Sophia Richie Grange is recalling her very difficult pregnancy with her daughter Eloise so Sophia Richieie-Grain is on this new podcast called SheMD which we were just talking about because the host is a big OBGYN to the stars. Yes I had actually heard of her weirdly. She's Dr. A. Dr. A from the Kardashians. On the Kardashians like they literally send her like on her own private jet like whenever they're on vacation she like literally stays nearby she must be so wealthy right so she has a podcast and Sophia Richie Grange was one of her patients and now she is talking about her pregnancy in her first postpartum interview and she revealed that pregnancy was not
Starting point is 00:43:56 an easy journey for her so on the latest episode of SheMD she said she recalled gaining 70 pounds while carrying her baby and being out on bed rest when she began having contractions at six months pregnant. So she said, quote, I had a great pregnancy up until about 32 weeks. And I woke up one morning and I texted Dr. A and I was like, hey, I woke up and I'm really tired today. My back really hurts. I feel a little crampy. And I thought it was going to be another one of those. Yeah, babe, that's pregnancy.
Starting point is 00:44:22 You're going to be fine. But you can come in if you want me to check you type of situations she was like you know what actually I think you should go see the fetal specialist to monitor that everything's okay and then you'll go home it's not that big of a deal she said thank god that she said that because they hooked me up to a monitor and they were like you are in active labor she ended up having to stay in the hospital for six days that was at 32 weeks pregnant she said I was begging please please let me go home and Dr. A was like you can go home but you're on bed rest we have to monitor you so that's what I did bed rest but contracting and then we induced at 38 weeks I had a fantastic delivery however then she says that
Starting point is 00:44:55 when she went home she developed a rare postpartum condition called preeclampsia postpartum right I didn't know you could our sister Olivia had it while she was pregnant it's like common to get it not common but you get it while you're pregnant I didn't know you could, our sister Olivia had it while she was pregnant. It's like common to get it, not common, but you get it while you're pregnant. I didn't know that you could get it afterwards. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:45:08 if you have high blood pressure after you deliver, that's why they're like taking your blood pressure every two hours in the hospital. She said, I stayed in the hospital
Starting point is 00:45:16 for two days. I went home and then I blew up like a balloon, quite literally just swelled. I felt very ill. My blood pressure was 165 over 103.
Starting point is 00:45:24 It was postpartum preeclampsia so she had to go back to the hospital and leave her daughter at home which she described as being really hard for her but in the end everything was okay oh man yeah I kind of love this concept of a celebrity ob-gyn like people exclusively telling their birth stories like on this podcast I actually think it's like a great concept I know she does other stuff like she had I think like halcyon talking about her endometriosis like other like feminine health things but I feel like we don't get like every podcaster or influencer like it's like here's my birth story it's like a thing you kind of like have to do um we never hear celebrity birth stories
Starting point is 00:45:57 yeah but everyone has a birth story I find them so even if your births went exactly according to plan like that's actually like more uncommon than not. Is giving Dr. A, is giving West Coast Dr. Fox, like OBGYN with a podcast. Do you want to promote something? My birth stories? No. The Redheads?
Starting point is 00:46:19 Yeah. Dana's birth story, she took her stories to the Redheads and her story is actually a crazy one so on the most recent episode of the redheads uh Dana shares her birth story and my birth stories are on patreon if you want to hear my birth stories yeah I think they're good stories I heard them at the time and I thought they were good as well do you enjoy listening not to mine because of course we have a kinship like no other do you enjoy other people's birth stories like yeah yeah like yeah I feel like I wouldn't have cared about people's birth stories as much
Starting point is 00:46:49 until I was pregnant and gave birth like people that I love like yeah of course I'm curious what happened to you right but like birth stories in general like no they don't really do it for me celebrity birth stories like did that fall into people that you love no but like olivia like we were all kind of a part of olivia's birth journey and her getting preeclampsia was kind of traumatizing and so hearing that sofia richie like i i can connect yeah but eat like just sofia richie in general like a celebrity that you love take sofia richie out of it like a celebrity that you love are you interested in their birth story like I might be interested in Taylor Swift's birth story like that's literally it okay I'm so glad my turdy listened to the birth story I'll work on that one yeah that's not your best I'll ask AI to fix that one up are you ready for our next story don't worry it's not a birth story. I'm ready. It's actually a weird story.
Starting point is 00:47:46 Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman are going to be starring in a movie called Song Sung Blue, which is a musical film about a husband and wife, Neil Diamond tribute band. Okay. There's a lot in there. Let me just unpack. There's a lot in there. Let me break it down into multiple sentences, okay? Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:05 Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman are taking the stage in a new musical drama film. Wait, stage? You know, soundstage. Oh, okay, it's not a play. No. Okay. The two are set to star in a movie called Song Sung Blue.
Starting point is 00:48:22 Such a bad name for a movie. As Claire and Mike, a real life couple from Milwaukee who form a Neil Diamond tribute band called Lightning and Thunder. Based on a true story. So a lot of things here. A lot of things.
Starting point is 00:48:38 I actually think like this is a good natural next step for Kate Hudson who's really been in the latter half of her career like embracing music. If you watch Glee, you know that she like, some people are like, wait for Kate Hudson who's really been in the latter half of her career like embracing music if you watch Glee you know that she like some people are like wait Kate Hudson can sing like if you watch Glee you know this has obviously been like a passion of hers but it's never been like her work um and so now like our rom-com queen starring in a movie but also it's a musical that she sings in like I think it's actually a good next step for her because she is starting this like music career I love the idea of Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman being in a movie musical together.
Starting point is 00:49:08 I love them both. I love movie musicals. However, the subject matter here, I don't know why this was the story that needs to be told. And is that to assume that the soundtrack of the film is exclusively Neil Diamond music? Or is it going to be original music? I think it's going to be a lot of Neil Diamond music and maybe that's maybe someone got the rights and said hey. Yard sale. Let's do a movie. Now Neil Diamond of course sings. Sweet Caroline. And now I'm looking at his other big hits and I haven't heard of them and that obviously
Starting point is 00:49:42 is cause for concern. Let us know what are they?ling rose crackling rose it's crackling okay here tell me what you think all these songs sound like okay song sung blue oh wait is that the name of the movie yeah all right hit me I'm so glad my song come on no no no seriously stop with that song like it's getting annoying. And I want you to actually sing what you think. I want to know what you actually think Song Sung Blue sounds like. I genuinely... Song Sung Blue?
Starting point is 00:50:13 I think it actually sounds like this. Song Sung Blue. That's so Neil Diamond. That is. Why don't you play it? Let's find out. No. Holly Holy.
Starting point is 00:50:27 I don't even know what genre Neil Diamond sings. sweet caroline is like a genre of its own you know so it's like am i going country am i going folksy am i going blues they say that neil diamond makes music for like older white people so just like embrace that like that's giving like come on eileen you know exactly like exactly Does he sing that No no So what was that song called Holly Holly Holly Holly What a crazy name I know these are all crazy
Starting point is 00:50:53 I am I said Sounds like Dr. Seuss September Morn Rural Ger These are not real song names According to Google these are his songs i guess even the name sweet caroline is random like yeah not anymore because it's like a part
Starting point is 00:51:14 of american culture and the lyrics are sweet caroline bomb bomb bomb that's actually not the lyric it's the sound of the drum he doesn't say no it's sweet caroline like drum drum drum and then you know people at weddings took it to the next level but now hearing his other song titles like i could see him having lyrics he sounds kind of nutty yeah yeah for sure so this movie So this movie Like I can't give it the Jackie O stamp of approval For her great creative processes
Starting point is 00:51:53 However I'm open And I like what they did with half of it That's unfortunate that you can't give it that award But I understand The J-O-S-O-A The Jisowa The Jisowa award yeah for creativity yeah right and ingenuity and innovation yeah but I'm open yeah I'm definitely not going to be seeing this so
Starting point is 00:52:19 like this is the last I'll probably hear of this movie I could I could see myself like seeing this movie like because Zach really wants to go to the movies and like we have to see what's in theaters like that particular day even though I didn't want to see anything. And then I see this is out and I'm like, okay, I'll see that one. Yeah, that's so funny.
Starting point is 00:52:35 Like of all the ones that are out, like this is the one you'll stay. Like I don't go to the movies when the movies are good. I just like go because like I have to go that day. When time allows it. Yeah, or like it's Zach's birthday and he wants to go to the movies. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:47 All right. So I guess we're going to see this movie in May. If you want me to see your movie, come out with it in May. Release it on May 2nd. On May 2nd. Yeah. Yeah. Are you ready for our next story, which is some major news in the podcasting world that's
Starting point is 00:53:00 really going to shake things up around here. Oh my God. I'm so excited. What is it? Because guess who's announced their new podcast? You'll never guess. Keeping Up With Sports? No, I wish.
Starting point is 00:53:10 That would have been a first story, not a fourth. What is it? Rachel Ray announces her new podcast called I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. It's unscripted, raw, and real talk. I have so many things to say. Rachel Ray isn't slowing down anytime soon. Just look at her new podcast, Name is Evidence.
Starting point is 00:53:30 The celebrity cook and TV host debuts her first podcast, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, on yesterday, October 15th. The show focuses on what fuels us, our drive, resilience, and how we face life's challenges. According to a press release, it will feature a melting pot of conversations with celebrities, chefs, artists, musicians, and other familiar faces with no topic off limits.
Starting point is 00:53:50 Did you think something was going to be off limits with Rachel Ray? No. So let's, of course, do what we do and evaluate the name of this podcast. It is legitimately atrocious. Legitimately atrocious because obviously that is- But if you would have told me a celebrity has a podcast
Starting point is 00:54:05 you just tell me who you said new celebrity podcast was just announced the title is I'll sleep when I'm dead I would have said Bethany Frankel no it's giving people say that when they're like 18 and they like stay out all night I'll sleep when I'm dead for me it's like giving like girl boss hustler culture the other thing and like I love Rachel Ray and I don't want to ever stop like a woman from entering the podcasting space but like do not come do no do not come first of all like relax like I feel like you worked so hard on your daytime show like for so many years like take the time to enjoy that second of all like not to be mean but like the daytime show was canceled so it's like the daytime show was canceled.
Starting point is 00:54:45 So it's like the need for you to interview people. Like it really isn't there. The demand isn't there so much anymore. And three, like you recently have come under fire for like your like actual inability to speak like slurring and being like kind of crazy. So I don't know if like, I don't know if like a job where you speak all the time,
Starting point is 00:55:04 like isn't best for you even though that has been her career up until this point I think a better title for this would have been 30 minute combos I love it I love it and that's like we know where your show is now like it's a 30 minute combo what are we talking about what are we making tonight and you know what I could listen to it while I make my 30 minute meal yeah by the way I love that but nobody asked me that's a problem like I could see her doing like ray of light oh Rachel's rays the thing about Rachel Ray and correct me if I'm wrong she's Rachel Rachel yeah and as somebody who is so deeply connected to like phonetics and language like her name being Rachel pronounced Rachel which like it's not that crazy I think
Starting point is 00:55:52 there's like a million girls named Rachel who spell it Rachel but her specifically she's the most famous you know Rachel um she'll always be famous to me you know yeah she just needed that extra letter because she's extra she needed the extra letter she didn't need the extra responsibility of this podcast and like I just know in a year from now if they make a movie about her life it'll be called extra a Jackie I know in a year from now we are going to be talking about Rachel Ray's podcast in the context of our list of celebrities who started podcasts and then never pick them back up and I don't even think our list is comprehensive enough no although our list of you know podcasts that came and went is one of my favorite things like do you remember a time where like you couldn't
Starting point is 00:56:35 leave the house without hearing about Ashley Graham's podcast or JVN's JVN yeah I remember JVN more so than Ashley Graham he was like one of the bigger biggest biggest podcasts yeah Anna Faris is she on our list no because because she's not like fully quit it yet like every couple of weeks she releases like an episode where it's like a celebrity I think I'll start a podcast she actually had like a very successful podcast even if she's done with it like I actually don't think it falls into that list Yeah she was doing podcasts like long before anyone else She has like many seasons of a successful show I just don't think it's the same
Starting point is 00:57:10 Let's see Anna Faris It It's like reruns and stuff right Yeah the last Oh They haven't released an episode since January And every episode before that has been a re-release for the last year So it's officially over But I still don't think she's on the list I don't think she's on the list either They haven't released an episode since January and every episode before that has been a re-release for the last year.
Starting point is 00:57:26 So it's officially over. But I still don't think she's on the list. I don't think she's on the list either. She's not a celebrity who woke up and said, I think I'll do a podcast today and then a year later shut her down. And then it was like too much for them. But I'm telling you, don't be surprised if Rachelle Ray ends up on that list.
Starting point is 00:57:38 Well, I personally am rooting for her because I don't think it will be in the comedy category. And so it does not compete with us and so therefore no threat to us yeah our ability to be happy for like a anyone joining the podcasting sphere is like what impact will it have on us it's true I don't think this has any impact on us whatsoever therefore like I I'm always gonna root for Rach that's just me and I feel like you used to be that way and then I definitely and then something hardened you something changed definitely with me and Rachel Richelle you used to champion her even more than I did because I watched her show recently and it was not for me yeah you did watch 30 minute meals and kind of take a like a giant dump on it it was a wild ride that's not
Starting point is 00:58:25 like kai we were talking about another creator recently who does food videos and i was explaining to you how like she says like really great videos but like it's just not for me like it's just too crazy wait and i don't like my memory is so bad she's a great creator i'll just text it to you because i would not slander this person. They're a great creator. It's just the style is not for me. Sent to you. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:58:54 That's like Rachel Ray. Yeah. A great creator. A creator. A creator. She's been creating for a while. And really, I couldn't help but wonder are all chefs creators i couldn't have a wonder i think we are all creators of god's universe
Starting point is 00:59:12 we are all created by the creator oh that's beautiful and he is the ultimate creator Amen. That's so Pesach. What tune is that? Damn. Damn. It's a classic Passover tune. Svardaya. Svardaya.
Starting point is 00:59:39 Svardaya. I have a question for you. Is there a reason why you haven't moved to the next story yet? Like you're really dilly dallying. I'm like, I wonder when she's going to stop talking about Rachel Ray. I'm sitting in this. Okay, I'll send you your toasters. Actually, you know what?
Starting point is 00:59:57 I'm glad that you're pushing me forward because my next segue is so pargy. If I may. Okay, yeah. Before we get to the fifth and final story, may I say something? If you must. May I let you know that if you want to be the creator of your own kitchen, that you should check out Little Spoon? Because we need to talk about something really important that most people don't realize.
Starting point is 01:00:20 Did you know that there aren't actually any requirements for baby food companies to test their products for chemical contaminants? Yikes. Not cool. 93% of parents are concerned about the presence of toxic levels of heavy metals in their baby food, as they should be. And cooking three meals a day plus snacks for your little one can be very hard. And that's why there is Little Spoon that is going to help us through. So Little Spoon is amazing practically because they are like home meals
Starting point is 01:00:43 for your children that can just be warmed up. They're hitting every category, carb, veggie, nutritious, and they're easy, but they are also clean and healthy. Today's episode is also brought to you by State Farm. So now it's time for a special segment of the toast. We're calling Adulthood Moments, which is sponsored by State Farm.
Starting point is 01:01:50 Now, I know this is in the copies. Obviously, if someone at State Farm wrote this and they're trying to hurt me and spread lies about me. But I'm just going to read it. I'm going to read it as it is written. I'd love to see what they said. You know, as our toasters know, I just turned 30. Now, I don't know who would write such libelous things about me. But let's, for the sake of the segment, let's just say that's true.
Starting point is 01:02:09 It's what the sponsor wants you to say. Right, right, right. So as our toasters know, I just turned 30. And it's fine. Obviously, it's not a big deal at all. I'm not going to, you know, I'm not going to change anything. It's actually just kind of amazing. And Jax and I love being really in an honest way.
Starting point is 01:02:24 We love being at this stage of our lives where we get to experience a lot of huge milestones of adulthood right along with the toasters who are going through the exact same things as us mostly milestones like you know having kids starting businesses masking one of those big first adult purchase making one of those first big adult purchases and then masking it stop like you know buying a house or a car these are big things and these are things that we're all entering that phase of our life on and like it's exciting you know it's it's kind of a big deal you know not to make everything about us um and as we said before getting a new car buying a house these are huge things and the first thing you might be saying to yourself is like question
Starting point is 01:02:58 mark how did i get here how do i get out but really the words you want to be thinking or singing are like a good neighbor state farm is there like a good neighbor state farm is there i'm so happy my neighbor made it to the state farm one step closer listen listen listen listen we can't be like with our like 30 seconds of copyrighted material okay this is a sponsored segment by state it's copyrighted by AI and State Farm loves when they sing. They've literally told us that. Yeah, not copyrighted materials. Okay. By AI.
Starting point is 01:03:29 My God, it's like you've never met Jake from State Farm. Couldn't be me. State Farm is there with the coverage that you need for your car, your home, even boats, motorcycles, RVs, and other things that matter to you. With a State Farm agent, you know that someone is there to help you choose the coverage that you need. With so many coverage options, it feels good knowing that you can find what fits for you. And when you need ways to get help, State Farm gives you options there too. So you can do it in person or on the phone if you're kind of like a grandma in that sense, very Jackie O coded.
Starting point is 01:03:54 Talk to your local agent in person or on the phone. Or you can head over to their website, statefarm.com, or their award-winning app. Obviously, like really technology swirly. That's very, very turdy coded. State Farm lets you do things your way. So in honor of being a good neighbor, right now Jax and I are going to take a second to compliment one another
Starting point is 01:04:09 on something they're absolutely crushing in terms of adulthood right now. So, you know, like a State Farm agent, we are here for each other. So Jax, I'll say this. I feel like obviously everybody knows you're like an amazing mom. That's like low hanging fruit.
Starting point is 01:04:21 Yeah, I'm not gonna say that, but just wanna let you know, like I obviously think that. But I think something you're really crushing right now is like being a home owner like having all the dip like your home is beautiful it's like always well stocked with like food and chargers like things that you need I think you're a really good homeowner turdy that is so sweet and I would like to compliment you on something as well. I think you're a really great business owner and businesswoman and girl boss, CEO making herstory.
Starting point is 01:04:50 So there you have it. Just another day of Jackson and Claude being good neighbors to each other in this crazy world of adulthood. So when you need help protecting the things that matter most, remember to say, like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. Like a good turdy, State Farm is there. How about that? Now I'm ready for the fifth and final story.
Starting point is 01:05:05 The fifth and final story. So it's a little bit of an update to a story from this week, which was Travis Kelsey's ex going on Angel Reese's podcast and kind of getting her ass handed to her by... On the internet, yeah. So she is having... And you know, the more I thought about that, I thought it was so interesting because like for the most part,
Starting point is 01:05:21 I feel like the Swifties like are torturous to everyone, right? Like anyone in their path. And they've kind of like left Kayla Nicole alone I feel like she hasn't really gotten maybe I don't know but I feel like they haven't like come for her they've really just let her be and she sort of like woke a beast with that podcast yes um so she is now talking about um and reflecting on the online backlash after being on the podcast. So she said on an episode of I Am Athlete Daily. She said, after the podcast came out, I thought that I handled things with grace. I thought that I answered the questions to the best of my ability. The public had their interpretation of things.
Starting point is 01:05:54 It didn't matter to me. She said she wasn't initially bothered by the social media reactions. Oh, her mother called her and expressed concern. She said, my mom calls me, though, and it's those conversations. That's what matters to me because it's those conversations that's what matters to me because she's offended she's hurt by the way people are perceiving her daughter she's hurt with the negative headlines in the way that people are spinning it so I only saw clips from this interview so it's hard to like judge the entire thing but based on what I saw like I do
Starting point is 01:06:18 agree with Kayla Nicole that like she she didn't she spoke like very gracefully about this situation the questions to me or what was more problematic and even like someone I think in Toast After Dark like screenshotted the uh Angel Reese podcast Instagram page and like it's all clips of Kayla Nicole like pictures they're milking it they're really milking it and I feel like that's what is unfair and has put this in a bad light not necessarily anything that she said in context by the way I agree with you that like most of the blame I think lies in like the questions the promotion and like it looks like Kayla Nicole's non-stop talking about Travis but like she literally was asked about it and then the account posted a million videos I agree except I did feel
Starting point is 01:06:57 like what she had said like Travis and her can't like communicate or acknowledge each other because his current girlfriend is like such a big star was like disrespectful like no you can't talk to him because like you're not with him anymore and like you don't you don't do that when someone's in a new relationship so I don't think she helped herself but like some of the things that she said but I agree that she was kind of put in like a shit position yeah no but I agree that like exes of five years like don't need to talk to each other especially when someone's in a in a new relationship but she was saying like even if we walk past each other we can't say even like hi because it will just be taken and made into a big thing which is true like I think that's a true statement yeah so I feel a little badly um I mean I think anybody
Starting point is 01:07:37 who like emo in the video and I'm sure it's been hard for her like and also let's not forget she's just a girl like she was dating someone for five years and she probably thought that that was her future and now he's like moved on with Taylor Swift no I feel bad for anyone who like goes on a podcast like tell their story and like gets backlash even if it's warranted or not like getting backlash for just like saying something that you think like is horrible like people people always take it too far right yeah then you're being like you know ushered by the police because you got death threats like I feel bad for anyone who goes through that like really you you can't know how really traumatizing it is until you go like experience it yourself so i always i'm gonna end up like defending it and feeling sorry for the person
Starting point is 01:08:11 even no matter what they said if it was like bad or good like so i agree with you she's just a girl and like at the end of the day like it's gotta just be like she's horrible that your boyfriend who like you invented right like nobody was looking at travis kelsey like you like saw something in him before everybody else did. And then it was a meaningful relationship, five years long. Like that's long to have him end up in a relationship that's like so happy. That has to be hard, of course. But then it's like with the most famous person and they become the most famous people. And everybody loves them together.
Starting point is 01:08:37 Like everybody's worshiping their relationship in a way that they never did yours. Like it's heartbreaking. That's just like anybody would feel that way. No, and like he's over here like getting 100 million dollar deals for his podcast and like when you were with him he was probably just doing it like as a hobby and like making and maybe you were holding the camera like supporting his dreams it's giving you know Austin Butler and Vanessa Ann it is she invented him she invented him and she was the one who told him I bet Kayla Nicole was the one who told him to do a podcast with his brother. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:05 Imagine. When did they break up? Kayla. I feel like six months to a year before tailored. That's my guess. Oh, that's close. I would have assumed like way longer. They broke up.
Starting point is 01:09:24 2022. And they started dating in 2023 three that was 2023 yeah um well those were good stories thank you so much for sharing and what's so exciting is that we still have your toasters our weekly advice segment so if you're ready it's not your farmer no it's your toasters rats okay okay hey jackson turd i'm getting married this spring And so far the planning hasn't been stressful Until my fiance's girl best friend Asked to do a special dance with him Red flag the great GBM He wanted me to ask her to be a bridesmaid
Starting point is 01:09:55 But I said no because we really don't get along I think this dance is insane But he doesn't want to upset their families So basically their moms have been best friends since childhood His older brother is married to her older sister. They're basically like family. My husband had two brothers growing up and he considers her like a sister. Should I give this, give in to her stupid dance or should I put my foot down?
Starting point is 01:10:14 This is weird. So she's not his sister. Just like make that very clear. And even if that was his sister, he wouldn't do a dance with his sister at the wedding. The dances are between the husband and the wife, the mother and the son, and the father and and the father and the daughter period put your foot down this girl I don't like this dynamic no this is fucking weird first of all the fact that she would ask for a thing that doesn't exist like to dance with someone else's husband is so egregious and really I get why you don't like her she's obviously fucking disgusting like I hate this bitch with my whole pussy like and like
Starting point is 01:10:41 everybody can make you feel like it's weird and that you're being rude we are here to tell you like third party individuals with no particular interest in the matter this bitch is crazy do not I'll kill you if you let this bitch bitch at your wedding like and also even if it was like a reasonable request which is not if it doesn't make you comfortable and it's your wedding like you're allowed this is the one day where you're allowed to be unreasonable mind you you are not being unreasonable like it is completely out of bounds for her to even ask this I don't give a fuck if these two people like we're are twins let's say you were marrying twins about marrying a twin a fraternal twin and the twin sister was like I would have a dad to my twin brother no like not unless you're
Starting point is 01:11:17 professional dancer not unless you're Julianne and Derek Hough can even then. Can they dance? No, you can't. I feel like they would, though. And I was going to say that if she wants to dance with your husband at his wedding, then she should marry him. Because that's the only way you're getting with the man on the dance floor. I think that is what she would like to be happening. Then go marry him. But if you're not, then I'm going to. Absolutely not. This is so out of bounds.
Starting point is 01:11:44 But you can't because you're his sister, right this is so adam bounds you're his sister right yeah right sister also keep this girl away from your husband like she's i'm sorry hate that when people are close they're like it's like my brother it's not but it's not it's not like you could still technically fuck this person and it wouldn't be weird or illegal so it's not your brother it's not your brother it's not like no i hate that too like our moms are i don't give a fuck like but our moms like we were born in the same hospital i don't give a fuck it's not your brother like grow up i hate that okay ready for our next one yeah hello by the way i chose this one because it's interesting but i also need your help in
Starting point is 01:12:25 understanding what she called us because that you know one of my favorite parts of dear toasters is seeing how people were references hey turtle loolah hi toast birthers b-i-r-t-h-e-r-s like giving birth to the toast okay because we like she said we like invented the toes okay aka jackson turney She said we like invented the toes. Sex, no. Okay. A.K.A. Jackson Turney. I need advice because my boyfriend's ex-girlfriend recently posted a TikTok where she says one of her red flags is that she has a complicated relationship with her ex. I know my boyfriend is her only ex. Is this valid for me to be upset about? Like, what do you mean complicated?
Starting point is 01:13:06 Should I be upset at him? At her? I know help am I overreacting so you can't like get mad at him over something that like crazy over there said and did you need to like actually find tangible proof and also she can have a complicated relationship with him in her mind and that like shouldn't come between your healthy relationship no but also you have to know like people on social media are always dramatizing their own life like I bet like there's a time by the way you should look into this but there's no there's a possibility where like she just wants attention like I'm a crazy girl look at my red flags I have a crazy ex like no you don't and dynamic and blame like it's fine it's been crazy mine I would be like look at their recent text messages like dm history if you're history if that's available to you.
Starting point is 01:13:46 But do not take out something on him that crazy over there did and do not let her affect your otherwise healthy relationship if it is a healthy relationship. Yeah. And you also have to think about what she said. She said, I have a complicated relationship with my ex. Now that could mean obviously like there are things left unsaid. They talk and it's weird. It could mean that for sure.
Starting point is 01:14:03 But if you have a complicated relationship with your ex, like you could have a complicated, like you see it in a complicated way. Yeah, I have a complicated relationship like with my history. How I think about it. Yeah, with how I think about it. It could be a few different things.
Starting point is 01:14:16 It's giving delusions of the mind. But by the way, we're not delusional. Like it could also like be bad. Yes, but like your boyfriend, I'm assuming like he's trustworthy and you love him and you know him and so like you need to go with that over like crazy down the way like let me ask you another question those things I'm assuming this girl is single right what single girl doesn't have a complicated relationship with her ex like once you move on that's where it stops being complicated right nohips are complicated, right?
Starting point is 01:14:45 No, but also it's like you love this person, now they're a stranger to you. That is complicated. She's not wrong for that. It is complicated. Do a little digging, but, like, don't automatically assume the worst because, like, I think she could just be, like, attention, like, seeking for likes.
Starting point is 01:14:58 Yeah, and also, like, then she, like, put a little poison in your relationship and she's happy about that. Yeah. Our third and final final dear toasters. Hello, swirlies. I'm newly married. I've been with my significant other for over eight years. I'm currently on my honeymoon and I received a text from my sister-in-law.
Starting point is 01:15:15 The text was screenshots of my latest Instagram post on my honeymoon. And it said weird, fugly ass outfits. And she edits her pics. Obviously, I'm actually so relieved. This isn't like about your husband being a philanderer obviously this was meant for someone else I responded out of anger and said next time I'll borrow some of your v-neck shirts since you have a closet full of them honestly it's like um my husband supported my message but now I'm worried that I responded
Starting point is 01:15:37 too quickly and I'm maybe driving a wedge between him and his family he's very close with them but they can be overbearing his sister has made passive aggressive comments to me before about how I'm white. He's Hispanic, but she's never said anything like explicitly rude before. Right. What do I do? I think you did the complete right thing. Like she's a bitch. Now, you know, keep your eyes open.
Starting point is 01:15:58 And by the way, you don't have to like do anything. If anyone should be having a pit, like, oh, what do I do? It's the sister. Like she actually said something so nasty. By the she's obsessed with you like refreshing your instagram she's probably one of those sisters who wants to fuck her brother it's giving theresa juda it's like sorry you should just send a video of you two fucking and being like is this what you wanted yeah just it's hard to see people living your dreams keep doing you yeah ignore like seriously you don't need to send any more text message if anyone like needs to be coming up with a plan
Starting point is 01:16:24 writing into her favorite podcast, it's the other bitch. Like she needs to make amends. It's not on you. Yeah. Haters gonna hate. And I want to say, your response. But you just love, love, love.
Starting point is 01:16:32 Your response was hysterical. Like seriously. And it wasn't like that mean that like you need to ever feel bad. You gave it to her back, but hers was way meaner. And I think your response was perfect. Like leave it alone. Yeah. And you don't, when someone makes like passive aggressive remarks at you and you don't want to stir the pot you don't really get a lot of
Starting point is 01:16:46 opportunities to give it back to them it's true that was like clear as day and I'm glad that you took the opportunity because when opportunity knocks you best be answering you best to be weren't those good submissions today yeah I'm like I feel like the girlies are going through it which obviously I'm not happy about but I feel like in different seasons of life like sometimes the toasters are doing well and like the submissions are not on point number three's on her honeymoon number two has a boyfriend and what was number one oh the the number one's getting married to a man who's so desirable this girl wants to dance with everybody wants a piece of him the girl of course everyone's jealous of the toasters of course
Starting point is 01:17:24 of course and maybe if you listen toasters. Of course. Of course. And maybe if you listen to the toast. You'd have a man. I'm talking to somebody who is obviously not listening. But maybe if you did, like maybe you would be happy and like planning a wedding. But you're not. So. So keep screenshotting your sister-in-law's pictures and talking shit.
Starting point is 01:17:39 See where that gets you. By the way. And just so you know, like you should sleep well on your honeymoon knowing this bitch has the biggest pit. Like, what is worse than sending the wrong thing to the wrong person? Like, talking shit edition. Like, sometimes it's, like, embarrassing you send a picture that was, like, meant for your doctor. But, like, no, there is nothing, there's no experience worse on the planet than what that girl is going through.. So seriously, you should find peace knowing she's having a terrible day. Yeah. And that like their child, like she's like being like, mom.
Starting point is 01:18:11 Yeah, mom, what do I do? And it's just like, you got your man. And you're on your honeymoon. Like, that's fun. What's that like? Can this v-neck bitch say the same? Claudia and I didn't take honeymoons. No, I was just having this conversation with someone because I ran into somebody who just
Starting point is 01:18:24 got married and she was telling me about her honeymoon. And she got married around the same time as me, which is right before the Jewish holidays.
