Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, Millennials, and welcome back to The Toast, and happy Friday. That's it. Happy Friday. We made it. So many accomplishments today. Huge. It's Friday, which we can all celebrate. I think we can all celebrate Friday.
Starting point is 00:00:14 Some of us can specifically celebrate last night's GSNO, Girly Sprilly's Night Out, first night at West Hampton Beach Performing Arts Center, the WAPOC. I think what you're saying is some of us accomplished more this week and have more to celebrate. Or just accomplished more last night. Yeah. We did. Things we did?
Starting point is 00:00:31 That. We kicked off our residency in West Hampton Beach, and it was an evening to remember. It's going to be a night. It was amazing. It was literally the best night of my life. One of our best shows yet. But we say that every time. No, I felt the best about that show, which is good. It should keep getting
Starting point is 00:00:49 better. But the show is in such a great place. We have so much to talk about. It's just like beachy, swirly, casual, fun energy. I love that everybody comes to the shows dressed to the nines, ready to have a good time, great attitude. It was just a great environment. And some would say it was the best it ever went. Yeah. We had such a great time. I don't know whether it was just a great environment and some would say it was the best it ever went yeah we had such a great time like i don't know whether it was the hamptons vibes and what's so funny is that you know the people who came to the show last night mostly weren't from the hamptons we did a meet and greet we got to meet a bunch of toasters and it was just people from all over yeah and so it was kind of giving melting pot it was we were so funny. We were. And gorgeous.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Of course. And normal. Professional. Professional. And what's so great is even though we're bragging about this show that most of you didn't go to, we vlogged the whole night for our Patreon. We just finished watching it this morning. And like, I really feel like we're reliving the night.
Starting point is 00:01:41 You'll get what was going on like from the vlog. It's such a fun vlog. It made me feel like I was reliving and rehiving the night. You'll get what was going on from the vlog. It's such a fun vlog. It made me feel like I was reliving and rehashing last night. Yeah, we've gotten a lot of requests to have the audio from our live shows turned into episodes for our Patreon because I know a lot of other people do that.
Starting point is 00:01:55 I don't know. We feel like, one, how much fun can it be to listen to something? You have to be there, you know? Yeah. Two, it's special. If you bought a ticket, that's kind of our moment.
Starting point is 00:02:03 And also, the energy we're bringing to the shows is very much like this is a safe space it lives here and here only not that we're saying like the craziest things but certainly things that we wouldn't say on the toast so if we had to keep that in mind it just might affect the show which is not fair but this is an opportunity for people to not only see like how the live shows work because we get a lot of questions about just like logistics but also there are big chunks of the show you'll be able to like see a little bit of what goes on that we filmed. So that'll be up. And some of the conversation that we had
Starting point is 00:02:28 that was just like topical and fun. So it was a really great episode. It'll be up after this episode today. So if you're looking for a little extra content from the Swirly's, a little extra Swirly content, patreon.com slash the toast per usual. Per usual, that'll be up.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Hopefully tonight the wifi in this house isn't the best. It's not the greatest. But like I said like i said a survivor i am making it work but that is why the videos the youtube videos have been like an hour or two later than they usually would be so thank you to the youtube community for your patience although i will say there is very little of it one thing about the youtube toasters which i totally get like they have no patience we're on swirly summertime yeah sst yeah like island time yeah swirly time we just. SST. Yeah. Like island time. Yeah. Swirly time. We just sort of, we're going to get there when we get there. It is what it is. It is. But thank
Starting point is 00:03:13 you to everyone who came last night. We had a ball. We're so excited to do it again next week. Yeah. And I think, you know, there was a little bit of like, you know, we just performed for 3000 people at the Beacon Theater, like this little show in the Hamptons. We weren't sure. Let me tell you, the vibes were immaculate. The vibes were pristine. It just was a really great venue. Thank you to the venue. Treated us like seriously princesses.
Starting point is 00:03:36 And the audience was great. I'm really excited about where we've decided to plant our roots. Yeah. And the creative direction of the show. We've never, you know, up until this point really haven't done live shows. And I think, I'm so glad we waited. Yeah, we are ready.
Starting point is 00:03:52 We're ready. Come and find us at the Hampton, West Hampton Beach Performing Arts Center this summer. We'll be there all month. We'll be there all month. And it's the weekend, which is just so fabulous. You know, when you take the Wednesday off in the middle of the week, the week really
Starting point is 00:04:07 does fly by. It's so true. We have a fun weekend planned celebrating your birthday. That's like the big celebration. I did feel like stupid. You know, you turn a certain age and you get one day, right? But when it's a Wednesday on a watershed birthday. Well, that's the other thing.
Starting point is 00:04:23 It's not going to work. Not only like, do I feel okay celebrating again, even though I'm way past the age of that, my birthday was sort of rocked by the sickness, the mold. It did kind of get, I wouldn't say ruined, because I still had a great day and I got amazing gifts, but we didn't get to celebrate properly. So I feel like I'm actually grateful to the mold,
Starting point is 00:04:43 because now I get to celebrate my birthday again. And this weekend will be really fun. Oh, also speaking of, I don't get to celebrate properly. So I feel like I'm actually grateful to the mold because now I get to celebrate my birthday again. And this weekend will be really fun. Oh, also speaking of, I don't want to spoil anything from the vlog because it's all in the vlog. But so many of the influencer swirlies who happened to be out in the Hamptons came to our show last night.
Starting point is 00:04:56 Like truly women supporting women. You know, I don't believe in that, but it was really beautiful. And influencers supporting influencers. Tinks, Shannon Ford, Remy, Hannah Burner, Taylor Strecker. Like everybody came out. So I feel like for the girlies who Hannah Burner, Taylor Strecker. Like, everybody came out. So I feel like for the girlies who came last night, like, it was so fun to, like, see everyone.
Starting point is 00:05:09 And they were a part of the vlog. Shannon was such a real one, like, vlogging for us where they were. TNN Employee of the Month. TNN Employee. I know we forget to do that segment, like, that we said we were going to do called Employee of the Month. So let's do it right now. Shannon Ford.
Starting point is 00:05:22 She was premium camera woman taking so much so the the uh vlog has it all but it also has shannon's pov no that's not what i'm going to say it also has probably like the greatest meeting of the minds in recent history american history i'll say that tinks and jackie met tinks is british true but she lives in the states she's stateside jackson jackson tinks oh my god i didn't even realize you guys have like the same like name like tinks and jacks they met and of course employee of the month shannon ford got the whole thing on camera yeah i met tink it was hard for me what did you think she was so lovely yeah lovely is the word i would use and i feel so i already knew this because you obviously like
Starting point is 00:06:02 love both of us so much that obviously she and I are very similar but I just got like a similar simpatico vibe from her like even our dress like I want to wear her dress her dress was cute yeah I want to wear her dress yeah yeah so I just feel like we're really similar and I'm excited because we're gonna see her again this weekend and I can get to know the woman but the first impression was solid gold you know I thought I would feel like threatened I feel happy I feel at peace it's like you know that feeling when your summer camp friends like met your home friends yeah you thought it would be a good idea and then they start really jiving and you're like I'm in hell I'm in hell and I thought I was gonna feel that but I do I feel joy okay good I feel at peace yeah and it's like
Starting point is 00:06:38 great for the larger group thousand percent we've run in a fabulous circle of influencer friends yeah and I'm glad to kick off swirly weekend and swirly summer is officially here we talked about it last night at the show we've been talking about it on this show too but we got through yesterday completely normally we did i we had an extremely productive day normal people day and today i feel like it's less of a fight you know no it's just kind of the normalcy has washed over me i'm back i do still feel like i have to keep tabs on it you know can't go wandering off into silly checkups silly swirlyville yep but it's definitely coming easier today to be normal and i also think one of the my working theories which is that the coffee we were getting every morning was poisoning us
Starting point is 00:07:20 by the way jaggy put that in my head. I completely agree. Cause you know, I stopped going out for coffee like yesterday when I started to feel normal again. Yeah. Yes, I agree. I don't want to slander the place, but like, it's not good. I don't know what it is about it, but I just like had this theory and maybe it, maybe it's also that the coffee wasn't strong enough. Let's just, that's like benign. It wasn't strong enough. We weren't caffeinated. We were losing our minds. I guess. Caffeine withdrawal. I'm personally not someone who relies on caffeine. Or the owners of the place we were getting coffee are smartless. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:53 And they're trying to ruin our show. Okay, we'll tell you. We were getting coffee at Smartless Coffee Co. We were getting coffee at SCC. Yep. And they were trying to ruin our show, so they gave us drugs. And meanwhile, it just made our show better. But as a business- Joke's on you. It was making our show better but as a business jokes on you it was making our show better but our business worse let me ask you a question are you able to say the word withdrawal without sounding like theresa judice withdrawal withdrawal
Starting point is 00:08:12 and my my daughters are going through withdrawal my daughters are going through withdrawal i have to say every letter of withdrawal i don't i don't know which one gets dropped. I totally... But also, I don't want any of them to get dropped. Withdrawal! But also when I say drawers. Yeah, my daughter's drawers. It's giving the world... But which... What's it supposed to be?
Starting point is 00:08:34 Draws? But my daughter's not drawing with her crayons. Okay, I don't know. Your daughter's drawers. I got a shirt from my drawer. Wait, where's the shirt? It's in the drawer. Drawer. Drawer. But it's... shirt? It's in the drawer. Drawer.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Drawer. Drawer. D-R-O-R. Drawer. The inventor of language, the English one specifically, really didn't have to do that. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I like the English language. I know you do. I'm not going to lodge any complaints. Oh, I have actually a lot of complaints. Except for facsimile facsimile is obviously when that comes to mind
Starting point is 00:09:07 the word guarantee why did it have to go so hard in the paint like that like guarantee of course the word dachshund fascist smile dachshund is not English
Starting point is 00:09:18 and that's what we've been saying all along yeah and then a couple of other words come to mind not as but like garage, like there's a,
Starting point is 00:09:25 I have a problem there, like with the sort of soft G. Oh, okay. Of course. Yeah. Confusing stuff sometimes. What's your favorite language?
Starting point is 00:09:35 Urdu? That's a good one. Girly Swirly's Night Out, Night Three. We'll know that one. I feel like my- All 600 of you. My favorite language, obviously will come as a shock to nobody, is definitely my native tongue.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Español. Right. Right. I actually really do love Español. Because I like the, like, there's so many fun, like, things you could do with it. The. The. The.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Also, I also like Hebrew because you could do the. Yeah. I kind of have a mouth and a throat for languages. For sure. Yeah. A guttural, you know. Let's like master the one. By the way, I feel also I have a firm grip on English. Do you not agree?
Starting point is 00:10:15 You have a firm grip, for sure. Right? Yeah. I do. So in case that was in question, Tertia speaks in question. i actually feel as though it was in question by you for a second it was because we didn't know how to say drawers well but that thank you to bring it back to that that's not on us it's on the english language got it yeah tell me about the stories today oh they're good i'm excited to get into them like we're really good
Starting point is 00:10:42 for a friday they're good for a friday We're going to round out the week. There's some newish news, but I really feel like it's going to just put the perfect bow on top of the week as we embark on the weekend. Got it. And what are you most looking forward to this weekend? Is there a specific answer I'm supposed to have? No, no, no. I'm just trying to get to know my sister. Oh, okay, cool. Of course, like the party, you know, but I really am looking forward to not working. Well, I think that's actually like a really relatable sentiment, you know? Yeah, because it's really, it's awkward that you like said it in front of our customers, like my coworkers. No, I'm not offended. The customers for sure. Yeah. Sorry guys. But just
Starting point is 00:11:22 like, we have so much fun in the mornings and then we kind of have to go and do the toast and then once we're in it it's really fun but just like the having to go and silo ourselves from the group and like sit in this moldy room and talk while trying to remain normal is really hard and it's like just stifling all the other things we could be doing so we were like all having coffee the whole family this morning and yeah we had to like leave but it's important to know like when we leave so does the entertainment entertainment. Yeah. But it's just bad for everyone. So. Obviously,
Starting point is 00:11:46 I feel more sorry for the people we left than us for leaving. Yeah. Our presence is truly a present. No, but I love the show. And like I said,
Starting point is 00:11:53 once we're in it, we're in it. But it's definitely like hard to break away from the group and stop fun times. So I'm looking forward to this weekend,
Starting point is 00:12:00 like not having to break away, not having to stop fun times. Yeah. Stop fun times. What are you looking forward to this weekend? We having to break away not having to stop fun times yeah stop fun times what are you looking forward to this weekend we have a big party yeah it's probably like last night was really tough because everybody all the influencer girlies came they were like drunk and they were like having so much fun like i was working like yeah claudia was like should i drink tequila i got there i was like jackie should i like have a shot like maybe i'll like
Starting point is 00:12:20 loosen up for the show and jackie was like no and i was like oh yeah right i'm working because we've never done that that's not how i don't like to get i don't like loosen up for the show. And Jackie was like, no. And I was like, oh yeah, right. I'm working. Because we've never done that. That's not how we function. I don't like to get into the habit of drinking like for shows. I don't think that's a good habit. No, but even for one show, like I don't work with drunk, dirty, drunk, dirty, don't work with me. We have a perfect thing going. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:34 But it just like, I definitely felt, you know, like left behind. Yeah, for sure. When they came in, they had been like drinking. But they were coming for you. No, I know, I know. I'm not complaining at all. But I'm looking forward to like seeing them again. And you know, job is done. You know, check that off the list. So you're also looking forward to not working. Yeah, but I'm looking forward to seeing them again, and job is done. Check that off the list.
Starting point is 00:12:46 So you're also looking forward to not working? Yeah, but I don't like to say it, because I actually love working. I don't dread coming up here, you know? You don't dread the breakaway? No, no, because I really know, like, once we leave, I think other people dread the breakaway. I think everyone in this house... You think they're like, get the fuck out. No, I think everybody in this house, when they know it's time
Starting point is 00:13:02 to toast, like, seriously, morale goes down. Oh, I was going to say, like, there's peace and quiet. No, no. Yeah, I think there's quiet. No, I think everybody in this house, when they know it's time to toast, like seriously, morale goes down. Oh, I was going to say like there's peace and quiet. No, no. Yeah, I think there's quiet. I don't think there's peace. Interesting. I think they really miss us. I think they're probably sitting downstairs like talking about how much they miss us.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Yeah, but it's like funny because we never get that moment of like the quiet because we're just always together. By the way, that's so true. Except for that one nap we took a couple of days ago. We were still napping together. Yeah, but it was quiet. It was quiet. That was a good nap.
Starting point is 00:13:24 That's how you know how tired we were. Claudia and I were watching TV on bed together. We pressed pause. It was your birthday. Let me take a nap on my birthday. That's how you know it was kind of like a low-key bad birthday. It was just a low-key birthday. A nap is good, except I didn't sleep long enough and I woke up horrible.
Starting point is 00:13:37 No, except I took a nap on my birthday and I got woken up because I had to go sign for a delivery. Somebody sent me flowers. Like, thanks, my friends from high school. Thanks, Rude. Thanks, my friends from high school, but, Rude. Thanks, my friends from high school, but you were in my birthday nap. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:47 Anyways, I'll just say, even when we're having peace and quiet and napping, like, we were doing it together. No, and also, like, we were napping, and I wasn't sure if this was, like, in my dream, and I was slowly coming out of it. Like, Mikayla was seriously at the foot of our bed singing to us.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Singing High School Musical, yeah. Was it High School Musical? I think so. I was trying to recognize a song in my sleep, and by the time I came out of it she was out. And I was like, are you kidding? Like, get out. Get out. No, I would never. I literally
Starting point is 00:14:12 love her so much. She bought me for my birthday two lipsticks. And I'm wearing them today. And let me tell you, she ate with her selections. I don't have lipsticks. Only the best for anti-cogers. It was Pat McGrath. Okay, budget. Budget. And then this other one that I have right here, it's like a lip balm. I thought it was at first like the Clinique Black Honey.
Starting point is 00:14:30 It's Chantekelle. Try it. It's kind of sheer. It's not anything crazy. Like she popped off with her selects. Wow. Yeah, you've been like wearing them ever since. I wore them on the live show last night.
Starting point is 00:14:41 I meant to tell her this morning. She got me such good lip. Oh my God. It looks even better on you. Okay. I'm going to get one. You should. We'll go to Blue Mercury today.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Or maybe I should wait for my birthday and she'll get me one. Yeah. If you could wait six months. So thank you to Michaela for waking me up, but then making it up with her beautiful lipsticks. That's lovely. We have such a great show today because we are great girls. There's a lot to discuss within the framework of the story. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:03 I actually, I'm excited for the stories so i kind of want to get to them so that we don't blow our load which is something we do often do we often blow our load bruno is here he is committed to working even though we are boring him constantly yeah so now without further ado yeah it's time for the fast five stories that you need to know that i brought to you byton Green Tea, a proactive wellness hack to support your overall health. Starting point is 00:19:59 T U R T Y. Why were you looking at me during that ad? Like you were giving me, like I thought you wanted me to stop or something. No, I didn't want you to stop. You never want me to stop. I never stopped talking about kibiko and our wonderful sponsors who make these shows possible that's so true our first story is the sbs 2024 sbs were last night i missed i mean i guess we were really busy yeah but like i didn't
Starting point is 00:20:20 realize it was the sbs last night until i was looking for stories today and like that's kind of on the sbsYs. I agree. I usually know if we're doing something and I'm missing a big major event. Our first live show was during the first presidential debate. We knew we were missing something. I had no idea that the ESPYs were on literally until this morning. They didn't do any sort of influencer marketing to let us know that the ESPYs were going to be on. I think that's okay.
Starting point is 00:20:44 Maybe not all of us need to know that the ESPYs are on, but I do think a sports podcast should know when the ESPYs are on. I just feel like I know everything. I know such useless facts. I feel like last week we were talking about the Pat Tillman gate of it all, and we said the ESPYs are on July 11th. We probably said, oh, we have a show that night.
Starting point is 00:20:59 Oh, do you think we said that? I do. It does sound like something we would say. Yeah. Make it about us. Well, I think the biggest news from the ESPYs last night are that Meghan and Harry were in attendance. Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:07 They did not walk the carpet. They were photographed inside. She looks gorgeous. She looks gorgeous. She's wearing a dress that's very similar to her second wedding dress. Remember when she changed into like that halter white dress? Yeah, that one was more silky
Starting point is 00:21:17 and this looks like a different material. Otherwise, I would say like maybe she's wearing her wedding dress. Relatable. Yeah, similar silhouette, but maybe I feel like a lot of people, there was like a lot of, not controversy, but people were like divided on whether they wearing her wedding dress relatable yeah similar silhouette but maybe i feel like a lot of people there was like a lot of not controversy but people were like divided on whether they loved her first dress but when she came out in that second dress and they got into
Starting point is 00:21:30 that little green sports car everybody was like oh this is a moment i feel like everybody you mean us no i feel like everybody i don't know if everyone was divided about her first dress i think yes they were one said nice things about it no i think the overall um message was that a was like honestly kind of similar to olivia coppola they're like it's too boring but b that it was ill-fitting yeah like that it um that was not tailored to me it's like one of the most confusing things what her first wedding dress oh so you didn't like it no yeah me neither i and like not to sound like gown eyed girl um i would add it to like list of things that I'd love to know more about
Starting point is 00:22:06 like in this world like the elevator you know like yeah why that dress like what happened like I feel like she had no control like someone
Starting point is 00:22:12 I feel like somebody put her in that dress I don't oh based on what we know someone who didn't like her but I feel like not even someone who didn't like her
Starting point is 00:22:19 I just feel like someone who didn't like her put her in that like your weddings are so personal when you're planning a wedding as a civilian like when you're planning a wedding of a civilian. Like when you're planning
Starting point is 00:22:25 a wedding of that scale, like you have seriously nothing to do with it. And I feel like Kate probably had a little bit more power. She was marrying like the future king.
Starting point is 00:22:31 I think you'd be surprised by, this is just what I think, not anything that I know, but like I do think when it comes to their wedding day, like they can choose
Starting point is 00:22:39 their wedding dress as long as it like fits royal guidelines of like sneer. Modesty. Yeah. I don't know. I just feel like, and she could guidelines of like sneer. Modesty. Yeah. I don't know. I just feel like.
Starting point is 00:22:46 And she could have had anyone in the world dress her. Yeah. I feel like when we see Meghan Markle's personal style, like she really is dressed very well. Oh, yeah. So the wedding dress, the first one is incongruous with what we know about her. I just love to know more about that. Yeah. So anyways, as an aside, she looked amazing last night at the ESPYs.
Starting point is 00:23:07 He got his award. He got his award. Ako Choco. Questionably deserved. Questionably deserved. And then a lot of other athlete celebrities were awarded as well. I like the ESPYs. Venus and Serena were there.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Everybody showed up and showed out. It's been a big year for sports. Travis Kelsey was not there. Yeah. He was making headlines elsewhere. Yeah yeah which is our next story i don't know what he would be doing there but it's like it's why wouldn't you go i guess now he can kind of go to anything maybe he went to the espys for so long because it was the only invite he could get and yeah it's like the biggest night of his year i can go to the grammys i could go to the met gala if i
Starting point is 00:23:41 want like i'm gonna take a i'm gonna let someone else have my spot. Yeah, I guess. But also, I don't know. He should have been there. He should be there. It's the night in sports. I guess also it's NFL honors. But I think it's a loss for the ESPYs that he wasn't there. Not a loss for Travis. A loss for the ESPYs.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Of course. No, and also knowing, we know what Travis was doing instead of going to the ESPYs. He was having fun. Yeah. Oh, well, I was going to Travis was doing instead of going to the ESPYs. Like, he was having fun. Yeah. Oh, well, I was going to say, our next story, sorry to the ESPYs,
Starting point is 00:24:09 we're just going to move on swiftly, is that Travis Kelsey and Christian McCaffrey were filming a commercial together yesterday. Oh, but do we also have the other story? Which is what? Oh, that he was doing karaoke. No, no, no, no. By the way, so,
Starting point is 00:24:20 I feel like I'm always talking every year, like, literally begging for an invitation. Something happens once a year, like in the summer. I only know about it because I follow Kelly Teller on social media, and she's always there. And one year, Rascal Flatts performed. And ever since then, I think it's like a golf tournament where all rich, famous people go to get drunk and listen to music.
Starting point is 00:24:35 And they're always listening to country music. And that thing, I don't know what the hell it is. It's this year. Thank you, Kelly Teller, for reminding me. It's this weekend. It's right now, yeah. And I guess a part of the programming was karaoke last night. Got it.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Travis Kelsey is at this affair. Whatever the fuck it is. Honestly, I don't even want to know what it is. Is Taylor there? No. Because of her shows. Because of her shows. Where is she performing this weekend?
Starting point is 00:24:57 Milan. Milan. It's very chic. I wonder if he's going to go. Like, after having so much fun, you know. Straight from Tahoe to Milan. Got it. Travis Kelsey was there. Part of the programming last night was a bunch of famous people that got together and sang karaoke. It was for charity.
Starting point is 00:25:14 I know there's a charitable element to this weekend. I don't know what it is. Miles Teller and Kelly Teller are there, as is Travis Kelsey. We know that they know each other. Got it. I'm interested. He was shooting a commercial with Chris McCaffrey for Lowe's. Just given that they know each other so got it well I'm interested in he was shooting commercial with Chris McCaffrey yes for Lowe's and just given that they're two of like the biggest names in sports right now and pop culture like and they've shot commercials together in the past yeah I just need there to be more friendship no not only that I do wonder if like you know Travis like talk to Christian about like marriage and, you know, made it look enticing. Like I did wonder like so fresh off the wedding,
Starting point is 00:25:50 of course, like if they're catching up, the first thing it's like, Oh, you got married three days ago. Tell me about that. And I don't know. I just feel like Christian and Olivia make a really good case for marriage.
Starting point is 00:25:58 Oh, I was thinking more. So like if I'm Olivia, I'm sending Christian in, like become friends. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:04 Double date friends with Taylor. I feel sending Christian in. Like, become friends. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Double date. Friends with Taylor. I feel like it's already. We'd be unstoppable. I think it's already in the cards because they're so close, the McCaffreys. Is she going to be Olivia McCaffrey? I like that name. They're so close with the Kittles.
Starting point is 00:26:16 And the Kittles are really close with Travis from life. Are they? Yes. And also now with Receiver even more. I follow Claire. She's always posting pictures of Travis and George. They know each other. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:27 So it's already there. It's all happening. Right, but maybe the lows of it all could bring them together further. I just need the women here to get together. I doubt Travis, Christian, and George can't all be thinking about how they can get their wives together. The wives need to orchestrate this. I just want to say, I do believe that the wives are thinking about it. Yeah. And we just kind of
Starting point is 00:26:48 have to let the chips fall where they may. Also they were like Super Bowl rivals so maybe they couldn't have a real friendship until now. I forgot about that part. Right. I was just like thinking about like the fun stuff. No. They look at each other. They are not thinking like our wives would be good friends. They're thinking. But that's what's wrong with the NFL. Like that's because that's not their first thought yeah and maybe if it was their first thought they would know what it's like to all be at the heiress tour together but i just want to say i'm excited for this commercial yeah i wonder what's the brand lows i wonder what the angle will be like will it be super bowl rivals will it be um what are the lows like vibes in their commercials
Starting point is 00:27:22 i can't i'm like it's like what's their slogan? Yeah, I was thinking, but that's Home Depot. What is the Lowe's slogan? Well, they had this Lowe's commercial with Christian McCaffrey, Travis Kelsey, and Dak Prescott from last year. But I just feel like everything has changed. Last year is irrelevant. Everything has changed.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Totally, by the way. The creative is completely different. Like Travis, his whole narrative has changed. He's with Taylor, his whole narrative has changed. Like he's with Taylor. Christian is a married man. They're Super Bowl champions and heroes. It's just different. It's just different.
Starting point is 00:27:53 And it's different. There's literally a Taylor song for everything. What's also crazy is that whatever this commercial is, is going to be playing like every weekend, all the time, every game. You know, whenever we do see it, we'll never stop seeing it. Good, because I also just read another story. So it better be good. That Travis Kelsey, oh, you just reminded me of something.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Just remind me of the school bus, okay? Okay. That Travis Kelsey, it just came out, he said on his podcast that he ended up spending $3 million for his suite at the Super Bowl. Now, Travis Kelsey is extremely liquid, and I think last year was a banner year for him, but that's still a lot of money.
Starting point is 00:28:21 It's not a lot of money for Taylor Swift, it's a lot of money for Travis. So I'm glad that he's booking gigs like this. It's an investment in his future, though. Of course. I hope that the commercial gets syndicated nationwide.
Starting point is 00:28:30 I hope for success for Lowe's. I do. And for Travis, ultimately. Wait, I was just reminded of something, but I can't remember. The podcast,
Starting point is 00:28:38 I might have this, okay, wait. The podcast that Travis went on when they were sitting in the school bus. What was it called? Bussing Boys? No, like the Bussing Boys.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Oh, you were right. Boys on the Bus. Yeah. Boys on the Bus podcast. And then I think like colloquially they're called the Bussing Boys. Oh, yeah. Bussing with the Boys. Bussing with the Boys.
Starting point is 00:28:55 Oh, it's Barstool. I didn't know that. Okay. Apparently, I was just remembering another podcast like that went. Okay. I can't remember what exactly I wanted to say. Just give me one second. You said School Bus.
Starting point is 00:29:04 No, no. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. I know. podcast like that went okay i can't remember what exactly i wanted to say just give me one second said school bus no no i know i know i know but so they're also the podcast that did something i can't remember i realized the other day i was like oh wait the bus podcast is also the podcast that something but i can't remember what it was so i'm just trying to look for like the most popular things it was like important okay Germane to the culture. I mean, it's still the effects of the mold. Try as we may to be normal. We still have brain fog, okay? Crap. It's like really
Starting point is 00:29:31 bothering me. I'm sorry. Whatever. Well, maybe it'll come to you. No, like I had seen a clip of it. If anybody knows what I'm talking about, what else did the Bustin' Boys podcast do? Oh, they'll tell you in two seconds. They'll know. I wish we could have it right now in this moment.
Starting point is 00:29:47 Okay. Maybe it will come back to you. Like seriously, being brain dead like has its lows. Yeah, we experienced highs earlier in the week, but like now we remember why we don't want this life. Right. I think you have to let it go. You think?
Starting point is 00:30:03 Okay. I think I know what it was. What? I think Jelly Roll announced his being on the 5K, that like on their podcast. And then we use that as a story. Okay. So like us and the boys are connected.
Starting point is 00:30:20 I do think that's what it was. Although I'm not feeling like that that's what it was. No, but that's pretty good. Okay. Even if that's not it, but that was true also. Yeah. But I don't feeling like that that's no but that's pretty good okay even if that's not it but that was true also yeah but I don't remember it being that no I know I'm like so annoying like annoyed with myself yeah now everything is like completes first 5k and also when you say podcast it's like Bert and Tom yeah so just sound off in the comments you guys is that what I'm thinking like you guys always know what I'm thinking I feel like that has to be it hold on Claudia is that like that interesting I don't know why I would like clock that in my memory what you barely clocked it though no I know so maybe it is that no I don't know what also like
Starting point is 00:30:58 what else did the bus and what the boys do like in our universe that would mean a lot in our universe also then it's just good to know what they did, even if it wasn't what you were thinking. Correct. Our next story is something really important to discuss today, which is Woman's World dropped last night.
Starting point is 00:31:11 Claudia and I are closely monitoring the situation. Closely monitoring the situation. We had a little listening party before the show. It's in the vlog.
Starting point is 00:31:19 It's in the vlog. You guys, the song is so amazing. The song is so amazing. I i will say it's two minutes and 50 seconds like she really did the least yeah there's no bridge the whole song is the one chorus which is really good and the verses are bad the chorus is amazing we need this summer so sonically i love the song i love the song i wish she like put in a little bit more effort just a little bit and i wasn't gonna have one negative thing to say about it until this morning we did something
Starting point is 00:31:48 stupid and we watched the music video. We did because watching the music video was self-harm. Like it was self-harm and like now I'm reminded of everything I said yesterday where it's like Katy Perry has sold her soul. Katy Perry has sold her soul. Katy Perry doesn't know who she is. Katy Perry is trying so hard to be something. I couldn't even tell you what the message of the video was like i watched the whole thing and i was like what are what is she trying to say here i don't even think she knows what she was trying to say like there were urinals there were vibrators there was a robot there was a gas pump in her ass it was weird and also at the end when she takes that influencer's like camera and the girl's like who are you who are you who are you and maybe? And maybe that's like a self commentary on like people who
Starting point is 00:32:29 say that Katy Perry doesn't know who she is. And they said, I'm Katy Perry. It's not a self commentary. She does. She's not self-aware enough to know that like, that's the critique of her. Okay. Well, I can't think of any other reason why I would be there. And like, still it's not like, Oh, she slayed and she let us know like no we ask again who are you yeah the music video was really bad and i think like it did damage to the progress that the song made for her and i also i don't want to look at the song like too closely because like i said like sonically it's perfection but then we were listening to it in the car on the way home and the lyrics no there's just like the one lyric when when you're singing it like you don't
Starting point is 00:33:05 really think to ask the question but it's like here um oh god woman's world by little mix oh i didn't realize they did that oh wow copyright infringement yeah woman's world oh what what is it it's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it. Uh-huh. That's all I know. Yeah. Because it's like, we ain't going nowhere. Where would we be going? So true, first of all.
Starting point is 00:33:34 No, like, women have been around since the dawn of time. But I do want to say, like, before I saw the video, when I was just listening to the song, like, I approve of that message. It's just a celebration of womanhood. Well, I like it's a woman's world. Like, it's giving who runs the world girls. Literally. But it just got a little too stupid. Like it's giving who runs the world girls.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Literally. But it just got a little too stupid. Like we ain't going nowhere. Like where would we be going? That's what I mean. If we go anywhere, then like men go too. Civilization goes everywhere. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:53 That's what I mean. Like a little bit more effort into like maybe a bridge. Just don't look too closely into it. Yeah. Like if she had put in like 90 more minutes of work, for real, just like made the lyrics
Starting point is 00:34:03 like a little bit more substantial and perhaps added a bridge. I think it could have been a 10 out of 10, but I guess we're taking it for what it is, which is just like a song. And I feel like those critiques that we have, not to just like make it okay in my head, but I feel like that's the Dr. Luke.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Like he doesn't know how to celebrate women. So he writes this dumb shit. So, and it is really crazy now that we're like, now that we're going there, like we're like getting really into the weeds on the song to write a song that celebrates womanhood like produced by dr luke like is really crazy no but then i think when you look at the song in the video it's like yeah that's fake feminism yeah yeah yeah and like yeah but i love the song but i love the song but i guess yeah i don't know what the point of the video was or the message was but for me like
Starting point is 00:34:45 message was received for me it's what I'm always going on about like the worst type of woman feminists like lifting each other up it's like it's so fake
Starting point is 00:34:52 however like if you want to do it do it to a good beat and we'll minimize our complaints the song is really good like I'll be listening to it and that's really
Starting point is 00:35:01 actually at the end of the day all that matters so Katy Perry stays winning so we can say like go stream Woman's World it's worth your time and it's only two minutes and 50 seconds like turd said yeah i do feel like we're maybe the only people on the planet who care which is so crazy like when we were at our live show last night like asking people about it the crowd was so like we don't care about this i think like you and i are closely monitoring the situation and nobody else yeah but i think for two reasons. One, like we've been Katy Perry fans
Starting point is 00:35:25 and we just want our Katy back. Yeah. I want my Katy back. Ba-da-da-da. My old Camaro and a firework track. Ba-da-da-da. I want my fish and my water bowl. Da-da-da-da.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Now Katy Perry's gonna rock and roll. She was with Trisha Paytas in the music video and I love Trisha Paytas, no complaints. But I do feel like putting like a YouTuber or a TikToker in your music video is what you do like, you know. When all hope is lost. Like, no, not when all hope is,
Starting point is 00:35:54 or, okay, yeah, or when you're on, it's either you're on your way up or you're on your way down. Like Kid LAROI just had Alex Earl in his music video and it was like huge. And like, that's perfect. He's on the rise. Like she's a young hot thing.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Like I feel like Katy Perry doing it, like she should be like a little bit beyond that yeah and was alex earl like the music video star yeah i love that yeah that's everything what this was yeah no it was everything even if like morgan wallen who's at the top had alex earl as like the girl in his music video like that would be unbelievable if to have like an influencer just like pulling a truck like it's giving megan trainer who's like and i like her and i like her music but that's perfect for megan trainer yeah but but also katie perry has kind of a complex history for those who don't know um with like working with influencers in you know her flop era swish swish bitch another one another one in the basket
Starting point is 00:36:39 she um had a influencer in it and there was, there's like a lot of controversy. She like basically called the influencer fat in the video. It's really weird. And the influencer was like, I had no idea that that's what I was being hired for. Like if I did, like perhaps I wouldn't have done it. So like,
Starting point is 00:36:55 it's just weird. Like it's weird that she would want to do that again. With Trisha Paytas to have an influencer in? Yeah. She just has like sort of a complex history. Yeah. Anyways, I'm here for influencers
Starting point is 00:37:06 starring in music videos. Maybe she made the music video so bad so that we wouldn't be following her Cameron Westcott trial, which we are. Yeah. Oh, we also have to,
Starting point is 00:37:14 we have to hold space for two things at the same time. And that's going to be a hard one. It is. Because Woman's World is just a bop.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Yeah. Bops are bops. Bop's going to bop. Are you ready for our fourth story uh no no just you it's okay is it our fourth story that's brought to you by state farm it is and is there something you want to say about that like a good neighbor state farm is there this episode of the toast is supported by state farm when you get a new car a new home the first
Starting point is 00:37:41 thing you might think is how is this real really, the words you want to be thinking or singing are, like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. State Farm is there with the coverage you need for your car, your home, even boats, motorcycles, RVs, and other things that matter to you. With a State Farm agent, you know someone is there to help you choose the coverage that you need. With so many coverage options, it feels good knowing that you can find what fits for you. And when you need ways to get help, State Farm gives you options there too. Maybe you're like me and you're a technology swirly who loves to do everything from their phone. With State Farm, you can get help on statefarm.com or on their award-winning app. Or maybe you're like Jax, you'd like to handle things in person or on the phone with a local agent. That's what
Starting point is 00:38:16 we love about State Farm. No matter what kind of toaster you are, State Farm lets you do it your way. So when you need help protecting the things that matter most, remember to sing it like Jax and Claude do. Hit it, Jax. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. State Farm is one of my favorite brands for a multitude of reasons. One, because they just sort of demand that we sing. It's in the copy. It says, sing, sing. And I feel like they see us as the stars that we are.
Starting point is 00:38:37 But they're also there for us when nobody else is. You know, with the insurance coverage that we need, their personal price plan, it's so personal. So make sure, you know, when that time comes for you, congrats. Make sure to celebrate. Yeah, we just got a house. We just got a car. But do what's right. Call up your local State Farm agent. And just remember that like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. Today's episode is also brought to you by Dreamland Baby Co. Thank you, Turt. I love Dreamland Baby Co. Starting point is 00:40:55 You're welcome. Our next story, trailer news. The Perfect Couple trailer has dropped. Oh, my God. Nicole Kidman, Megan Fahey are starring in the Netflix limited series, which is an adaptation of Ellen Hildebrand's murder mystery novel. So we both read the perfect couple. It's by Ellen Hildebrand. Now, if you don't know Ellen Hildebrand, like seriously, educate yourself. You're missing out on the vibes. It's Nantucket. It's Northeast. It's
Starting point is 00:41:20 hydrangeas. It's rich. It's elegant. It's, it's everything it's it's everything she's the nancy myers of authors yes perfectly put honestly and this is one of my favorite books of her golden girl is one of my favorite too but this is really like it's a perfect book it's a perfect book it's a little murder mystery but it's not in like a spooky way it's a glamorous setting a fabulous wealthy family a wedding it's a whodunit it's a whodunit and now it is being laid into a netflix show and we have been show a movie a limited series oh my god i don't know why i thought it was a movie we have been updating you guys about the casting and now the trailer has dropped and it just looks perfection and so i'm so hopeful for this because the book and the story
Starting point is 00:41:59 is so great but they gave it the hollywood treatment oh that's why i thought it was a movie like not skimp oh my god it's so because it's about this very very wealthy family and the whole thing takes place at their cape cod or nantucket house um so it's like this huge sprawling estate and they really look like they they gave it the budget that it deserves and we've been so excited about the casting nicole kidman liev schreiber our queen megan fahey dak Dakota Fanning. Like, my question is, who is playing who? There were so many people in that trailer. Like, who is playing the blonde girl? The bride?
Starting point is 00:42:32 Yeah. I don't think she's blonde. I think it was that brunette girl who was like, well, looking in the mirror in the trailer. You don't think that that's Merritt? Oh, oh, oh. Because the friend of the bride. I think Megan Fahey is the bride.
Starting point is 00:42:44 But she was being bitchy, and the bride isn't bitchy. Megan Fahey was acting like she owned the bride. I think Megan Fahey is the bride. But she was being bitchy and the bride isn't bitchy. Megan Fahey was acting like she owned the place. Also, Megan Fahey felt like the sister-in-law because she was like, think about this family. I thought that Dakota Fanning felt like the sister-in-law because she was quirky. Because she was wearing a fancy dress.
Starting point is 00:42:59 I guess we'll just watch it. I feel like they added stuff too. Which is going to be a little annoying but I guess sometimes like for a limited series like you need a lot of stuff you need a lot of characters so I think they're going to change it I hope it is a perfect I hope they don't change who did it well yeah that's the other thing and and even if you're not a reader like this is a like an amazing perfect book it's not too long it's just it has everything like get the experience of reading the book because it's a whodunit and like seriously you are never ever going to guess it it's like kind of the perfect plot twist but i
Starting point is 00:43:28 also feel like i read it so long ago that whatever the show is usually i don't like to watch shows of like books that i like but i don't feel attached to this book in a way that i loved it like i just really enjoyed it even if they change it like it just looks like a good show on its own that had a really good inspiration in that book and we know that like Nicole Kidman does books well Big Little Lies like she has a track record she's proven time and time again nine perfect actually I didn't read nine perfect strangers and also you're kind of like one of the only people who didn't like that I think it was universally like accepted oh my god I really didn't like it I found it insufferable I didn't finish it and I didn't read the book so I guess I'll never know what happened with Masha oh no oh no but I trust
Starting point is 00:44:06 her I do and I'm thrilled even though the last time Netflix did an adaptation it was luckiest girl alive and I didn't think that was so great I hate to say it yeah because we love that book and we and I just feel and I love me they gave it everything they had. Did they? I think they, they actually didn't. I think they took the book. The book is perfect. And I think they took the book and like took the worst parts of it. Like they missed out so much on so much good stuff.
Starting point is 00:44:34 I guess. Maybe it's just, maybe some books just don't translate. Maybe. I do think this one has the potential to translate like perfectly. Yeah. If done right, which it looks like it was,
Starting point is 00:44:44 I think the casting is just fabulous. It looked, I right, which it looks like it was. I think the casting is just fabulous. It looked, I mean trailers are supposed to look amazing, but it did look incredible. So it comes out on September 5th.
Starting point is 00:44:52 We will see you then. Like that is just something I'm really looking forward to. If you're going to ask me like what's on the horizon post-summer, this. Here,
Starting point is 00:45:00 here's a picture of the family. Dakota Johnson, Dakota Fanning, looks pregnant. So she would be the sister-in-law. She's not the bride. Megan Fahey would be the bride. I guess this, where's Megan Fahey?
Starting point is 00:45:09 She's not even in this picture. This girl looks like, I think she's the bride, but. Yeah, I think she's the bride too, because that's obviously a family photo. The bride was supposed to be blonde. I guess it doesn't matter so much. Not to nitpick. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:45:21 It's just like. So is Megan Fahey married? Because she's not in that photo. Because look on my ID. No, it's so much more fun to just like wait. I don't know. It's just like. So is Megan Fahey married? Because she's not in that photo. Because look on IOMD. No, it's so much more fun to just like wait. Okay. Okay. Great.
Starting point is 00:45:30 And there's like a lot of brothers. Yeah. And which one is the husband to be? We'll never know. Not this one. It was like silly. Can I go eat? We'll like never know.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Okay. I'm excited. Me too. I love that they're giving us not only trailers, family photos. They're giving us assets. There are assets to consume, and we are extremely grateful to Netflix and everybody involved in the project. Yes. I can't wait.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Are you ready for our fifth and final story? Fifth and final story of the final episode of the week? It's getting sad. It is. But yes, I'm ready, because I do have to be. Our fifth and final story is that Sabrina Carpenter is a Nepo niece. Okay. Is she?
Starting point is 00:46:05 Bart Simpson, the actress who voices Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright, is Sabrina Carpenter's auntie. So Nancy Cartwright, who voices Bart in The Simpsons, is that a man?
Starting point is 00:46:15 Yeah. Okay. Learned that a woman. The dad, right? I learned that a woman. No, that's Homer. Bart's the little kid. I will learn that a woman
Starting point is 00:46:22 plays Bart. Didn't know that. Do you know that? No. Confirm that she's Sabrina Carpenter's auntie. The actress made a TikTok on Tuesday about her familial ties with Sabrina. She said, isn't that amazing
Starting point is 00:46:32 when you find out that somebody, maybe you've known me for a little while, doing this little 10-year-old boy for 35 some years, and some of you guys for way less than that find out that I'm related to this superstar? She's pretty amazing. She captioned it, the rumors are true, Sabrina Carpenter is my niece. The aunt was a peach on it. related to this superstar. She's pretty amazing. She captioned it, the rumors are true,
Starting point is 00:46:45 Sabrina Carpenter is my niece. The aunt was a peach on it. I saw this video. She's just like so proud of her niece. But it does beg the question of nepotism. Now, I think one could argue like these are two totally different spaces. Like it maybe is a coincidence.
Starting point is 00:46:57 But it is important to remember like, you know, Sabrina got her start in TV and Disney. Like I feel like her aunt definitely helped her. Yeah. Who cares? Even if it was just like, hey, I saw this role, you'd be good for it. But here she took her to a premiere in 2011. The thing is, of Happy Feet 2. The cream rises.
Starting point is 00:47:12 And that's exactly what we've seen with Sabrina Carpenter. She's an extremely talented songstress, performer, songwriter, vocalist. And there are a lot of kids, girls who came out of Disney and wanted to be singers and didn't quite hack it. Yeah. No, Sabrina Carpenter Disney and wanted to be singers and didn't quite hack it. Yeah. No, Sabrina Carpenter didn't get to be the summer of Sabrina because her aunt is Bart Simpson's voice. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe she got her, you know, audition at Disney because her aunt, but everything else was
Starting point is 00:47:37 Sabrina. Yeah. Yeah. Also, she talked about, she's like spoken about it forward. I guess like people just weren't listening back then because you guys were sleeping on all of her previous albums and you should stream skin. You were sleeping, but you know what we were doing? Twiddling them thumbs.
Starting point is 00:47:52 Skiddly-dee-da-dum. But in March 2021, if anyone was listening other than us, she said, it's pretty wild, isn't it? It runs in the family, I guess. By relation, I'm also a legend. No, absolutely not even close, but I will just say that my whole life that was the coolest thing in the world to me i wasn't even allowed to watch the show until i was
Starting point is 00:48:08 a little bit older the woman is a woman of many talents she's not just bart and she always blows me away well let's also talk about how probably rich this woman is like that's a job in the industry true that pays for life wait she also is known for voicing chucky and rugrats rufus and kim possible and mindy and animaniacs so yeah kim possible she has that disney oh just she knows a phone number of someone at disney no she's like a legendary voice actress who's playing like an important role at the time in the disney like she's sabrina got her job at disney because of her aunt like let's just say that everything else she got I think she got a closely looked at audition because of her aunt
Starting point is 00:48:50 like a very consistent she didn't get just thrown into a pile of names her her resume was plucked out because of her aunt what happens next is on Sabrina yeah Rufus, that's, yeah. Yeah, no, it's good to know. Yeah. The thing is, once you sort of understand that everybody in Hollywood, like, is in one way connected to someone or something. Like, there are very, very few people who were truly discovered on the streets of, you know, Mississippi. Of their farm, right? Or, like, in a Wendy's. You'll just feel better.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Who was discovered at Wendy's? Emily DiDinato. At Wendy's? Yeah. I thought the mall. No, Wendy's. She tells the story. I might be making that up.
Starting point is 00:49:33 I never remember Wendy's. Okay, so speaking of somebody. For me, her story was the classic mall model scouts. I'm pretty sure the lady behind her in line at Wendy's. I'm 90% sure. Oh, wow. Or I'm making it up. But it was a story like that. that a tale as old as time I had two thoughts I wanted to share totally randomly I was watching DCC and I know I like watched without you but they do that they give
Starting point is 00:49:54 them all makeovers at one point they take them to the salon and it really made me realize like DCC is America's Next Top Model coming back because it's very unfiltered show like you know Kelly will tell someone when they need to lose weight when they're ugly like their hair is bad and that's like was kind of the best part of america's next top model and like how they were all having breakdowns when they got their hair chopped off um but i feel like tyra did it to hurt them no and like not to make them like more beautiful objectively but like to make them more interesting but like it's like i have to live like this it's not just for one picture it's to make them more interesting not to make them more beautiful and i I think for DCC,
Starting point is 00:50:25 like I didn't see the episodes you're talking about, but like they're making them just like gorgeous. More Instagrammy. Yeah, they had like more hair. All the girls got extensions. And she kept talking about that one girl. It must be like so hard on her that like she just like,
Starting point is 00:50:36 her face has like no features and she just kind of fades. And I was like, what are you talking about? And then I saw what she was talking about. No, but the makeovers were good. Like they were actually, cause they just want, and it was like this big Dallas salon.
Starting point is 00:50:45 They just wanted them all to have like bigger hair, brighter hair and bigger lips. Like it was not. Did they get injections? No, no, like they didn't make up makeovers too. So they all got like big lips. Maybe like an eyebrow. Yeah, it wasn't,
Starting point is 00:50:56 it was, nobody was like destructive, but it just reminded me like, and DCC is so good and it's so popular and I think that they'll have seasons to come. Like I think it's going to become a big show for Netflix and we need that back in the culture. Like it's not PC. Yeah. And it's so popular and I think that they'll have seasons to come. Like I think it's going to become a big show for Netflix and we need that back in the culture. Like it's not PC. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:07 And it's everything. Hysterical. The other thing I wanted to say is those are the fast side stories and I am going to request that in lieu of Queenie and Weenie of the Week today, we do a new segment because I discovered the craziest thing and it's going to be called, instead of Queenie of the Week, it's going to be called Question of the Week. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:51:22 I have long been confused by this one person. Her name is Alexandra Daddario. I'm sure you know her. Yeah. She's an actress with blue eyes from White Lotus, from Why Women Kill, from a bunch of things. From True Detective. From Baywatch.
Starting point is 00:51:35 She has made waves this week because she announced she's pregnant. And I was stalking her, and her pregnancy announcement was so cute, and her caption was hilarious. Like, can't wait for my kids to be a nurse. My son or daughter, I forget, to be in nursery with Haley Beavers and Margot Robbie's like very cute, very funny. And then I just got stalking her Instagram. I want you to guess how many followers Alexandra Daddario has. 20, 12 million, 28 million. And I have to know why.
Starting point is 00:52:08 Now, if you wanted to start a list, I wouldn't be mad. Like, people who have way more followers than they should. Mark Ruffalo also has 28 million followers. I know that there's a lot of lore to Alexandra Daddario that I'm not familiar with. There is.
Starting point is 00:52:19 I think she's kind of like a like a Sidney Sweeney who only has 20 million followers. So wait, Alexandra Daddario has 20 million followers. So wait, Alexandra Daddario has 8 million more. Like please, actually somebody explain it to me. Let's,
Starting point is 00:52:31 like I think she was really big from True Detective. I feel like she's in something, maybe like Marvel, something we don't know about. Like how is she so famous? Because for me, she was the girl from White Lotus
Starting point is 00:52:41 and White Lotus was huge and she definitely like got a couple of million followers from that. Oh, but, but no. I feel, and White Lotus was huge, and she definitely got a couple of million followers from that. Oh, but no. I feel like she's just a busy and booked actress, but not like 28 million. That's on the level of the kids from Riverdale. What was she on that had the thing? I think it's True Detective.
Starting point is 00:52:57 That was the first time I heard her. The people who watch True Detective don't Instagram Stan. Yeah. Does she have anything that resembles like a DC Marvel? I think she's like hot, Claudia. There's no way. Like Instagram. Because her Instagram is like fruit from the farmer's market.
Starting point is 00:53:15 But I think people are like waiting for like ass and titties. No. Yeah. But why would they think that of her from True Detective? Is she naked in True Detective? Yeah. And like her breasts. It's always sunny.
Starting point is 00:53:29 Was she like a mainstay on that? I feel like she might have been. I don't know. I think she was naked in True Detective. This is like a blind spot for me in the culture. Alexandra Daddario. And then I just like look and she has 28 million followers. And I'm thinking to myself, what did I miss?
Starting point is 00:53:48 Yeah. I think people like want to look at her. And so they follow her on Instagram. That's like who you would follow. Someone that's nice to look at. You think it's like a lot of men? Yeah. But also she's like fashion.
Starting point is 00:53:58 So she's like women. But yeah, I do think men. Okay. Not to like diminish what she's doing. No, of course not. She's an extremely successful and talented actress in her own right but please sound off like that's just my theory like just based on glimpses it's an Amanda Knox to me it's a blind spot in culture like I know
Starting point is 00:54:13 everything are you okay my butt pain is so bad yeah I just had the worst butt pain so I saw you doing I saw you rearranging today when we were downstairs I rearranged and it was the most pain I've ever had. Oh my God, I'm actually going to pee. I don't want to go back to that place, so I have to go really slow. No, by the way, when you were doing the dream, I was moving so slow. No, you guys, my butt hurts more than ever. I think we have sciatica.
Starting point is 00:54:38 That's what I said I have. But we're having the same thing. No, but we're describing it differently. No, we're just having different regions. My tailbone is not part of this problem. Okay. And you would say that your tailbone? Yeah, I have a pelvic floor issue.
Starting point is 00:54:51 I have sciatica. I need to be doing figure fours. So that's my question of the week. Who in the world is Alexandra Daddario? Like, how did I miss that? All because I didn't watch True Detective. I don't watch every show, but I still know people.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Like, you don't watch Euphoria, but you know Zendaya. Like seriously help. Do you like that segment? Question of the week? Yeah. I like your question. And then also my list.
Starting point is 00:55:12 People who have so many followers and like seriously how? Yeah. She was on All My Children but like anyone could be on that for like a minute. You don't get followers from All My Children.
Starting point is 00:55:22 Yeah. White Collar. But who knows maybe she just had like a little cameo mayfair witches i don't think so santa andreas yeah like i think she's gonna got a lot of guys stuff like yeah that's what i'm saying like the rock baywatch yeah like stuff for guys oh bruno you choking bruno said Alexander DiGiorgio? Yeah, I follow her. Bruno's a man's man. Bruno is
Starting point is 00:55:49 such, like, he's the embodiment of toxic masculinity. It's so true. Look at him just sleeping while the women work. Man spreading. Bruno, it's a woman's world and you're lucky to be living in it. Uh-huh. So those were the fast five. That's our week. Swirly Summer Week 2 in the can. Uh-huh. So those were the best five.
Starting point is 00:56:05 That's our week. Swirly Summer Week 2 in the can. In the can. First full Swirly Summer Week, even though we didn't do Wednesday. But no, we didn't have video last week. We came out on a Tuesday. True. True.
Starting point is 00:56:18 And maybe I should get used to just one episode not happening a week. Yeah. Not if I have anything to say about it. You know me. I'm like, seriously, I'm such a toxic. It doesn't make sense. I just like to episode not happening a week. Yeah. Not if I have anything to say about it. You know me. I'm like seriously I'm such a toxic. It doesn't make sense. Like I just like to threaten you.
Starting point is 00:56:29 Okay. That's so true by the way. She's all talk no action. Like I would never just not do an episode when we're sitting here. She's all bark and no bite.
Starting point is 00:56:36 We have ads like what. Don't listen to a word this bitch says okay. I just I'm being like making empty threats. Thanks for an amazing week. Thank you so much for listening to The Toast
