Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning, Millennials! Welcome back to The Toast and happy Friday, Friday. Gotta get down on this day of the week that we love. That's Friday. That is true. Hey Jax, how ya darlin'? I'm Gerd. Gerd. I've got that Friday energy. I've got that frog in my throat, apparently. Not cool. Not indicative of how I'm feeling which is incredibly swirly how about you I'm glad you brought that up because I meant to ask you do you happen to have that swirlitude I've got that swirlitude I've got
Starting point is 00:00:36 that swirlitude I just feel like if you get that reference like we love you so much if you get that reference seriously move in with me like that's the energy I need in my home it's so true and if you don't get that reference I'm gonna do some explaining because I realized I did something yesterday really crazy which was talk about Lenny Hochstein's breakup without ever mentioning like who he was what he's from like why you should know him do people not know Lenny Hoch I saw a comment that was like who are the people in this fifth story and that's so fair because like we know Lenny Hoch? I saw a comment that was like, who are the people in this fifth story? And that's so fair. Cause like we said Lenny Hochstein, he's not a main character on a show.
Starting point is 00:01:11 We said his fiance's name, who you also don't know. And we only said Lisa, like it could be seriously anyone. You have to be like so deep in it. So just want to let you know, that's from Real Housewives of Miami. Like my B, I'm starting to give content.
Starting point is 00:01:24 Imagine not knowing who Lenny Hochstein is. Like you probably have so much like my B I'm starting to give context imagine not knowing who Lenny Hochstein is like you probably have so much free time I'm so happy for you so I'm in my giving context era and Swirlitude is a play on gratitude from the Bratz movie I'm in my um straight hair era it's kind of changing things in which I see the world a lot of people are commenting on it you know we were talking about red nail theory. I'm creating, added to the list of theories we're creating. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Straight hair theory. Okay. And what does the theory entail? Well, it entails like when you, like, I think there are people who are either born with straight hair or straighten their hair every day. I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to people who like mostly like curl their hair or have like wavy curly hair. And then every now and then remember like the flat iron exists and straighten
Starting point is 00:02:07 their hair for a couple of days. And when you're living, and it can't be all the time. So I'm not going to straighten my hair all the time. But when you're living in that window of straight hair, like everything is easier. Everything is lighter. You look so young, but it only works if you don't do it all the time. That's straight hair theory. Okay. I've've got it you should straighten your hair even though I feel like you do I do I never straighten my ends though which is why like maybe I should straighten my ends one time and just shake you all yeah very ever Levine Steen of you yeah but I do actually use a flat iron most days okay so I learned the craziest thing last night that I need to tell you about okay I'm listening so I'm sad okay I'm sad as the kids that I need to tell you about. Okay. I'm listening. So I'm sad.
Starting point is 00:02:45 I'm sad, as the kids say. I went to Veronica Beard Fashion Week party. Right. And it was so fabulous. It was at the Nines, by the way. Like our favorite restaurant. Like really swanky. Where I had my birthday.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Yeah. Really swanky. Star studded. Like the girlies were out. Shailene Woodley. I literally thought it was Grace Van Patten from Tell Me Lies. And I was like, wait. I couldn't tell who was who.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Shailene Woodley. Cammie Marone. my favorite girl from Ginny and Georgia, Sophia Bush. Like, really popping. Is Sophia Bush your favorite girl from Ginny and Georgia? My favorite girl from Ginny and Georgia, Sophia Bush, lots of people were there. Thank you for the clarification. And of course, who was at the Veronica Beard party? Veronica Beard herself. And, you know, Ben is
Starting point is 00:03:25 like friends with her. And so we went over, we gave her a big hug. She was super nice. And then like the night went on and they like had a performer. So Veronica Beard went up and she kept referring to her and this other person as the Veronica's, which I thought was like so funny, like the band, you know. And then I was like, wait, what? I'm like missing something. Something wasn't adding up for me. Jackie, do you know that there are was like wait what I'm like missing something something wasn't adding up for me Jackie do you know that there are two Veronica Beards their names are Veronica Beard and they both started the company together so how did they meet at a Veronica convention no both of their names are Veronica and they married brothers so then they all both became Veronica Beard Beard
Starting point is 00:04:00 is not their maiden name it's their married married name. And they met through their husbands. Yes. Like through being in-laws. I thought you were going to say that it's two Veronica's and it's the Veronica's from childhood and they run Veronica Beard. I fucking wish that's a better end to the story. And also or the musical guest was the Veronica. Oh my God. I wish the musical guest was Banks, which was cool. But I like when they said oh we're the veronicas i was like wait i knew that there were like maybe we ain't gonna live forever i knew there was a musical performer so i was like and then i wanted to pitch the idea to them but like they were busy and they probably didn't want to hear my stupid ideas but i was like next time maybe you guys should try and get the veronicas i feel like they're not that expensive they're kind of like out of work for sure hopefully like a pr swirly
Starting point is 00:04:42 on team veronica oh i met the PR swirlies from Team Veronica. They are all swirlies. And hopefully they're toasters and they're listening. They're like next year, Veronica's ex Veronica's. No, that would be huge. What a great name, Veronica. Like your name isn't Veronica and you don't not have a great, like a big personality. Not only that, like your name is Veronica and like you are successful.
Starting point is 00:05:02 You are bold. You have an amazing personality. You're bold. I think like the Archie comics really sort of set the standard for girls named Veronica. I don't know any girls named Veronica. I kind of love it. I think that's the problem in our life that we don't know any Veronica's. Also, the movie Heathers set the standard for girls named Veronica.
Starting point is 00:05:19 So that was the first thing I wanted to tell you. Just like a fun fact that I found out that I thought was fun. I really love that name the more we talk about it. It's so strong. It's so strong. Like you don't have to worry if your kid's going to have a personality if you give them the name Veronica. Like it's coming through.
Starting point is 00:05:35 And then like they get called Ronnie, which I think is really cute too. It is. Okay. So then the second thing I wanted to share, and I'm sure everyone's sort of like waiting with bated breath to hear how my thumb appointment went. I actually am. I am. I'm speaking in double negatives today because I was about to say I'm not like not waiting
Starting point is 00:05:51 with bated breath. Which is like such an annoying way to talk. So like all is to say I am waiting with bated breath. I hate to let everyone down. The x-ray was inconclusive. The bones in my hand look good, which is obviously a good thing. No broken bones. The bones are good. The rest don't matter. So it's probably a nerve issue. And I went to a doctor
Starting point is 00:06:10 and this is- Are you nervous? Yeah. I went to a doctor where this has happened to me before, where like there's like a resident in the room. You know, they're like shadowing. I think it's often like when your doctor's like at a hospital or something. I don't know. So there was like a young guy and like, I don't like that. there was like a young guy and like I don't like that I I feel like you should be able to opt out of it like it's personal what goes on in this facility and the first Claudia there was a resident in the room when I had like my 39 week checkup when I was pregnant like going into the cervix to see how dilated I was. Like he's standing at the end of the table.
Starting point is 00:06:46 And honestly, like I'm too tired to complain or be like, hey, that's a little weird. I just was like, I hope you don't remember this. When I was in the 10th grade, I had an issue in my tushy. I'll just leave it at that. And I had to go to a doctor. And there was a resident in the room
Starting point is 00:07:03 during the inspection. Is the resident in the room during the inspection. Is the resident in the room with us? No, and I know that it's just like a part of life we've all accepted, but I do feel like there should be an opt out form. But then it's like, how are people supposed to become doctors if everybody's opting out? It's not a perfect system, but I don't know. To be honest, that's not my problem. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:23 Totally. Figure it out another way. A thousand percent. And you know what? Yesterday I totally figure it out another way a thousand percent and you know what yesterday I wouldn't have opted out it was just my hand right and I would love and honestly this guy was really smart but they were literally teaching the doctor was teaching him no and it's like you're I'm on my time now you're cutting into my time and it's like a lecture that I didn't ask for I just like need my hand fixed and did it help you understand what was going on no low-key the resident was so smart he was like yeah it's the EMG or whatever I was like okay it was all good it was my hand I'm not embarrassed like not a big deal but it did you
Starting point is 00:07:55 know make me wonder how we got to this place where we don't give consent and you can drop out of being a resident and like you're not a full doctor yet right so you can like drop out and then tell everybody what you saw no I think that they've always asked like by the way we have a resident do you mind if he like watches in and that's such an innocuous thing that like who's gonna say no until you're like lying on the table like with a hand up your cooter being like who are you yeah no your story is really crazy right yeah and when I was in the 10th grade but I'm just like teaching the future of America what can I say well I just know that oh I'm sorry I forgot to I like buried the lead
Starting point is 00:08:30 when that thing happened in my tushy in the 10th grade there was like four residents and the thing I was experiencing was kind of like a medical mystery like I feel like I was on an episode of house like they couldn't figure it out um and they had all these different like people coming in to look at my tushy. Thank God I got it like worked out. But that was definitely low. Yeah. I would say so. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Like four residents. In situations like that, you just kind of have to like take yourself out of the room like mentally. Like this is not my body. They will not remember me. No. mentally. Like, this is not my body. They will not remember me. No, you have to really identify with what are those things called that start with a C
Starting point is 00:09:09 that you use in medical school, like the dead bodies that donate their body to science, like a carcass? No, like a cadaver. You just have to embrace your inner cadaver
Starting point is 00:09:19 and move on. No, and you also just have to say, like, I'm moving medicine forward. Like, I am the future of science. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:25 I will go down in history for my contributions to this field. Your contributions to medicine. They're going to publish me in the New England Journal of Medicine. Like, that's sort of what you have to do. Yeah. So we're all really local heroes. So all's that to say, I have to go get a nerve test, like, 150 blocks uptown. I haven't made the appointment yet.
Starting point is 00:09:43 I'm really hoping this thing resolves itself. He did say it's a nerve issue that like the worst possible case is surgery, but a lot of times it like resolves itself. But it's been a long time that I've been having this issue. Not that like anyone cares about my problems, but that's just sort of what I've been dealing with.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Maybe by the time you make the appointment, it'll resolve itself. A lot of people thankfully said it off in the comments yesterday. They said they just got like a steroid shot and it like fixed it. Yeah, I feel like now that you know the x-ray was fine like you were worried that something really bad was going on but like now that you know that it's not anything that bad probably gives you a bit of peace of mind and maybe if you've been like munch housing yourself and taking your thumb is
Starting point is 00:10:19 really bad don't gaslight me it is really bad no no I believe you but sometimes like your mindset can really set your reality that's actually so true I was having this conversation with a friend of mine who's been dealing with like a chronic illness um and like he's been to a million doctors can't get it diagnosed and he said which I thought was extremely self-aware he's like and I'm all I'm also making it worse like with my mindset being toxic like I'm thinking I'm sicker than I am like I definitely have something going on like I can't figure out they thought it was like acid reflux whatever but like my toxicity is contributing to
Starting point is 00:10:47 the illness which I thought was an extremely self-aware thing to say yeah like stress and anxiety are not good for your health so true that's why it's important that we take vacations as much as we can and why you listen to the toast to uplift your mood 1000 Okay so I feel good about that. Any big medical advancements made for you yesterday? No not anything major. That's good. In the medical sphere which is good. In the medical sense. No news is good news. Yeah. In that sense. We're both showing arms on the pod today hashtag brave. We are in like a in a low-key sort of way like what do you call this type of sleeve it's like cap no no no it's not cap it's like it's baggy cap baggy cap yeah I like that so is mine which I like don't love but it is hot here but I wanted to wear like an outfit not just like shorts and a t-shirt that's not an outfit I'm saying this and I don't do it but like we
Starting point is 00:11:41 really just need to like let go do you know what I I mean? Of like all of our spilkas. In regards to? Like our bodies. You know? Oh, so I should be sitting here in shorts and a t-shirt? It's not about my body. No, no. You were saying like that your arms are out.
Starting point is 00:11:57 You're like not loving it. Like we just need to like let go and let go. Because like either do something about it or don't. No, and also like one day my arms will be bigger and I'll look back on this episode and be like what gargy arms she had. That's so important to remember that you could always like you might be a reference point for your future self. So like be happy now.
Starting point is 00:12:15 And if one day my arms are smaller I'll look back on this episode and be like wow I've come so far. Right. It can either like it can like that's such a positive outlook. I love that. Yeah. Either way like it gets better. It gets gets better also yesterday was such a busy day we recorded our uh an interview for the toast that we're going to drop next week someone really special I had
Starting point is 00:12:33 so much fun I'm so excited for people to listen to it I'm also glad we did it like we had a lot of questions for this person and they were answered yeah I feel like very satisfied satisfaction is is the feeling and this is a person I had never met and I also just wanted to see like what they were like in IRL I liked it good vibes good vibes GB yeah okay well that comes out next week so stay tuned stay sat for that we've got a great show I think we have to get into the stories because the other big thing that happened oh oh yeah evening was football returned tailored took to the Chiefs game so we're gonna get into it in the fast five stories that you need to know I raced home literally raced home to catch the

Starting point is 00:16:26 a new sponsor here, but not a new product because Jackie and I love Dr. Teals. Bath time is so important to me and the products, I don't skimp. I think there are certain places where you don't have to have, you know, the best of the best. Bath time is super important to me. I love Dr. Teals. I've been using their body wash, their Epsom salts for years. And then being a sponsor of the toes, it's kind of a huge deal for us. It is. It's toe full circle. It is. And we used it all summer long. We had like a huge box sent to the house because we literally can't live without their products. So recover and relax with Dr. Teal's. They're powered by magnesium and essential oils. That's why Ben loves it. Ben is obsessed with magnesium. His sister told him about
Starting point is 00:17:02 it like a couple of years ago. Now he looks for magnesium in everything. He like takes it before bed. He loves the Dr. Teal's products. They have pure Epsom salts, foaming baths, a variety of other wellness products. I love their foaming bath products, but I also use their body wash and then like make myself a bubble bath with it sometimes. It's so good. It'll be love at first bath.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Just feel the Dr. Teal's difference with just one bath. Now I'm a bath person, even if you're not, because Ben loves to shower. We have their products in all the bathrooms in our house. I cannot recommend Dr. Teal's difference with just one bath. Now I'm a bath person, even if you're not, because Ben loves to shower. We have their products in all the bathrooms in our house. I cannot recommend Dr. Teal's enough. The magnesium is fabulous. The essential oils are fabulous for their pure Epsom salts and foaming baths being powered by magnesium is a real game changer. And there's just a difference with Dr. Teal's, the relaxation, the muscle recovery. I take a bath after every single workout and I always use Dr. Teal's and I feel like it makes a really big difference in my recovery. So find Dr. Teals at Walmart or at any
Starting point is 00:17:49 major retailer near you. It's fabulous. Like you can trust me on bath things, you know. Dr. Teals is the goat. The goat bath salt. As the kids say. The goat wrapper bath salt. Exactly. Our first story, the big news of the evening. Chiefs versus Ravens. Tailored in the stadium. Rocking the stadium at Arrowhead watching her mans play. The Chiefs won, which is like, you know, a subplot here. The main plot is that she was there.
Starting point is 00:18:17 She was looking gargi-pargi. Like, looking hot. Yeah, we need to talk about. H-O-T hot. We need to talk about, like, the sexiness, right? Because I feel her outfits are always speaking to us. She uses her clothing definitely to signal new music, to remark on what era she's in.
Starting point is 00:18:32 And like, she's in her hot wag era. Like I was shook at the patent leather over the knee boots, booty shorts, and tight denim corset. She looked so hot. Yeah. She really,
Starting point is 00:18:46 really did. And you just know, she just wants to like show out and like shake her titties for her man and I loved that I loved it yeah she was in the box with Mr. and Mrs. Kelsey yes Donna and Ed it is like a crazy outfit to wear next to your boyfriend's dad like that made me think for a second for sure I just feel like I would be so I but she's also like on state you know she's it's true she's really comfortable in herself maybe we're just like insecure losers well not maybe we are and that's like reflected in how we talk and what we say right like we could barely show our arms so without like talking about it and like oh my god we're such losers no I felt this overwhelming sense of nostalgia like I forgot how much fun I had last year during football
Starting point is 00:19:25 and how I really started to like football, but also like the tailor of it all. And just like getting home, I got into bed and the game was like delayed and it started kind of late. So it was not even- Oh, was it because there was like a tornado? Something, but it was like the middle of the second quarter. I was like, oh, I didn't even miss anything.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Nothing happens in football to the fourth quarter. Like I'm on my phone seriously to the fourth quarter. And then the fourth quarter, I'm sad. Nothing matters before that, dead ass. Because they all stay like pretty with each other within whatever and then then it's time during the first quarter fourth quarter but like seeing all the footage like I just loved how much fun we had last year and how it brought people together and it was like this weekly thing we were all doing and that sense of nostalgia just sort of washed over me and I felt so happy last night like going to bed with a smile on my face. Yes. And the Chiefs won,
Starting point is 00:20:05 which is great for the Chiefs. Well, as an empath, it was really hard. Cause this was like Lamar Jackson. Oh, I was trying to tell Ben this like fun fact you had told me about the first game of football of the season,
Starting point is 00:20:15 but I couldn't remember. You told me that like the first scheduled game of the NFL season is always like what the Superbowl could have been like the two losing teams. Do you know what I mean? Did I say that? Maybe you didn't. I feel like you did. Like I'm.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Who was in the Super Bowl last year? Chiefs versus 49ers. 49ers. So is this like what the Super Bowl would have been if the. Ravens had beat the 49ers in their league. But I think maybe the Chiefs. No, if the Chiefs had beat. Yeah, the Chiefs beat the Ravens.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Yeah, right. So maybe it's just like. And then it tomorrow the Eagles and the 49ers or today or tomorrow. Today. Today. Today. Today. They're playing in Brazil the Eagles. How stupid is that? On a Friday night. No tonight is the Packers. Like I seriously I don't get it. You had told me like a fun fact about the first NFL game. Oh well I hope that I can recall what it was that sounds fun but I have no recollection I feel like Zach told it to you maybe you can ask him what I'm talking about okay I will but it might be like the thing about the Super Bowl rematch like sometimes they do a game that doesn't count towards the season and it will be like Chiefs
Starting point is 00:21:20 first 49ers again oh just like how last year maybe i'm making stuff up last year chiefs first eagles played like just for fun just for shits and giggles we are so back with our uninformed nfl takes like seriously we're back it feels good i feel like a lot of girls though like are learning on the job whether it's because they're fans of taylor switch or just like they're dating someone or married to someone who's into football so like we're getting an education alongside our partners and i feel like you're probably just asking a lot of questions too like never stop asking why there's no such thing as a dumb question no but you know what there are like not to be like a hater but there then are like girls who have been watching football for
Starting point is 00:21:54 a while and they are like oh you guys seriously like stop talking about football it hurts my ears like shut the fuck up okay like you're it's giving pick me it's getting not like other girls like I drink beer and watch football like we're trying to learn and there's always people who like join the conversations being like, I've been watching football like with my dad for a year. So you guys don't know what you're talking about. Well, why don't you go away? Why don't you go watch with your dad? Because we don't want to watch with you.
Starting point is 00:22:12 We are learning on the job. We're listening and we're learning actually. Yeah. So that'll be fun though if the Chiefs and the 49ers play each other again, like for shits and giggles. And then we got a picture of Taylor and Travis like leaving. He was wearing his cool outfit. She was wearing her cool outfit post game post win
Starting point is 00:22:27 I just it's the honestly as the words and as the great Ali and AJ once said it's the greatest time of year and it's here let me celebrate it that's what we're doing what do you think about her decision not to bring any friends like she usually does like she really showed up so low because I feel like last season there was a lot going on in football like the football world is really intimidating and you like you bring your friends with you as sort of like security blankets right 100 and you're meeting his family maybe you don't know them so well but now it's like this is all potentially it could be her family and she feels comfortable it's like enough to go with the dad or the mom. It's not as big of a deal. That's what I think.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Okay. Because then she got to a place where she stopped bringing friends because she had Brittany. And Brittany was her girl. And they would like be in the suites together. But I don't think she needs that anymore. And she has Brittany because Brittany's always going to be there. But I don't know. I think she's feeling comfortable.
Starting point is 00:23:20 And her outfit was sort of reflective of that too, right? Like. Yeah. And she was with some of the other wags last night that they had posted on their social media videos of her she seemed very happy and exactly what you would think when your man's wins a big game no it's I'm so glad my Travi made it to the big game one step closer to Kelsey being my last name I like the name I know she would never because she's such like a modern woman. She'll never change her name.
Starting point is 00:23:48 And like from a business perspective, she shouldn't. It's stupid. But like Taylor Kelsey, so cute. So cute. But I mean, if Kim Kardashian West could do it. Yeah. It could be done. People forget because Taylor is like, you know, a woman, you know, a modern woman.
Starting point is 00:24:02 She's so traditional. She's like a hopeless romantic love story you know I feel for her whole life I'm just saying like I didn't think Kim could do it or even would have thought that she should do it but she did it she had her name on all her makeup she made it all kkw like true it can be done it's all I'm saying but not saying that she should not saying that she should and she's so, her name means everything to her. Yeah. I really resonate with that on a much smaller level. Like, my name is everything to me.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Mm-hmm. I loved, I just loved, loved, loved every minute of last night. Yeah. And I'm excited to be back, back in the football groove. Yeah, just be doing more of it. Yeah. Like, this weekend, Football Sunday. Oh, I was looking at the schedule coming up, 49ers-Jets. Is Aaron back?
Starting point is 00:24:49 Yeah. Is he not? I don't know. We'll find out. I should have asked Shane Lee last night when I saw her. Oh, my God. She's really beautiful. She's like the type of person, I don't think I've ever seen her in person.
Starting point is 00:25:02 She looks very different in person. Like, not like she does in the movies or on the red carpet she's insanely beautiful nice she looks like you saw what Aaron sees in her oh I saw what Aaron although I don't know being in your faction week doesn't give the vibe that you're giving up all your material items remember when she said she was doing that yeah but also being at New York fashion week like are you going home to Aaron's in New jersey oh my god so true like what brings you to town possible opportunity to reconnect yeah we're so toxic like are you ready for our next story yes another one of our queens stassi schroeder sitting down with bustle revealing past
Starting point is 00:25:39 self-harm battle and how she shudders when her three-year-old daughter notices her scars. So Stassi Schroeder is talking about herself, her future, her book, and she revealed that she previously engaged in self-harm and she struggles with how to relay that information to her three-year-old daughter Hartford. She discussed her mental health journey in her upcoming book, You Can't Have It All, and she explained why she chose to share that part of her life in this new article. She said, it just feels like it's been a secret and I don't like secrets. She share that part of her life in this new article she said it just feels like it's been a secret and I don't like secrets she added that part of the reason she's chosen to have a career in podcasting and reality tv is because there's this feeling of I'm free everybody knows my shit I don't have to hide anything she also said that she decided to tell her story about self-harm
Starting point is 00:26:18 because her daughter began noticing her scars she said quote when I look at myself naked Hartford will see a little line and she'll be like, mommy, ouchie. Oh God, that feels dirty. How will I ever explain to her that this was something that I chose? She said. Oh my God, that's so sad. Yeah. By the way, her book just arrived here.
Starting point is 00:26:35 I have one for you. I'm so excited to read it. Her books are great. They are really great. She also talks in the book about her past addiction to Adderall, which is not something that I knew. It's not something I knew either. But Craig Conover talked about it in his book, how he.
Starting point is 00:26:53 And I think that like a couple of years ago, when Vanderpump Rules like had gotten really popular, they did like this Bravo special where they all like sat down and talked about the early days of Vanderpump Rules. And Stassi said, and she said it very like flippantly, but I think you could tell there was more to it. They were also broke and they were like dying to be models and dying to be on TV and they had no money for food. They would just like literally take Adderall
Starting point is 00:27:11 because they couldn't afford food. And it got them all into like really bad routines. And so this isn't surprising to hear. Yeah, she has, this article mentions that she has previously spoken about it. I just, that's not something that I knew, but I also feel like, and we've definitely talked about this before,
Starting point is 00:27:26 how like Adderall usage and also like drinking, like how it coupled, like with the lifestyle of a reality TV star, it's like being awake all day, drinking all night, getting up early, filming again. You don't have all of that energy usually in you. And like, I feel like it's an easy road to go down when that is your job yeah so she also talks
Starting point is 00:27:47 about how that um the abuse of it like caused several of the dark passenger outbursts yeah sure right because it also like makes you tense and irritable and angry and coupled with drinking and intense schedules and drama like it's a lot yeah Well she looked insane in this photo shoot. Like so purgy purgy. Loving the like moment she's having with the book and the reality show. I didn't know these things. So I think that's like awesome that she shared it. And I just love her. Yes.
Starting point is 00:28:18 Me as well. Looking forward to the book. Me too. And the cover is really. It's a very pretty book. Yeah. It is. All of her covers and her titles are 10 out of 10. It's really kind of crazy and underrated that this is her third book.
Starting point is 00:28:29 Like nobody gets, like, I don't know anybody's written three books. About themselves. Themselves. Without being, I don't know, I guess a writer. But she is a writer. That's like her, like when we met her on Manor Pump Rules, like she was also blogging. Like writing in her DNA no and also to write almost like three memoirs in a 10-year period that you're saying something people are liking what you're saying and like
Starting point is 00:28:54 that you have all of that to share is a major talent yeah but you have to think about how like okay the first book was like her first book ever so you write about your whole life second book she went through this enormous scandal which gives you tons of material to write about then she became a mom of two which is what the third book is about like she really keeps evolving yeah it's not like you're writing the same book three times no no and she's not yeah but like for one person to write three books about themselves in 10 years like is a feat thousand percent I can't wait to read especially because it is a lot about motherhood and I think her take on motherhood and it's literally called, you can't have it all is not a POV that we get often, you know, we either get like, you can have it all or lean in or this or
Starting point is 00:29:34 that. And I'm really excited to hear what she has to say. And she talks a little bit about it when she was on the toast with me, like about this philosophy that she has, which is that like, yeah, things are going to suffer. You can't do everything. If you want to be a present mom and you want to be a working mom mom like there are going to be things that you miss on both ends and like yeah we only have 24 hours in a day yeah like that's just facts right so can't wait to read it same are you ready for our next story which is not a category that typically makes news however for this person and this color it's news because King Kylie has returned to her King Kylie era with blue hair so Kylie posted on Instagram some selfies of
Starting point is 00:30:13 her with her famous blue hairstyle and she captioned it what was it teal the end of time no this was major throwback I feel like like once again, it's a wig. I feel like even if she winds up wearing teal for like six months, it's a wig because I think it really harms your hair to like go back and forth with hair colors. But like when she did that pink hair selfie, I was like, oh, that's just like for a photo shoot. That's not her hair.
Starting point is 00:30:39 And it wasn't. I just feel like Kylie sits around in her house and like does whatever she wants. And she just wanted to fuck around with either a wig or semi-permanent whatever. And like that's it. I think a lot of people are looking so much into this. Like I think Kylie is returning. Like I just think she wanted to dye her hair.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Do you think the next picture. Oh you think she dyed. Like do you think the next picture of her is going to have teal hair. Or like this is just like for a photo shoot moment. She didn't show us her scalp did she? Or she was like playing with her old wigs no she was wearing a hat oh then it's a wig yeah and she was at the sushi park wearing a hat she was spotted and I think it's a wig too I think it should be a wig because it's a lot to like but this particular shade of teal like seriously changed a generation do you remember when she had this color hair at Kim's wedding and she was like so mad yeah Kim was not wrong for that no she was not wrong thankfully like it wound up being like
Starting point is 00:31:37 a very iconic hairstyle and for Kylie to be in the photos with that hair like it's more than just like Kim's wedding photos yeah it's reflective of a moment in time. But she was not wrong for that. I feel like a lot of people are making more of this than what it is. Like they think it's just some signaling to like a whole revamp of Kylie Cosmetics. Like I just think like she expresses herself
Starting point is 00:32:00 through hair and makeup and like she was feeling a little crazy. Yeah, and she was like playing with her wigs and was like oh this would be fun people will love that. She definitely kept the iconic colors and the iconic wigs somewhere and maybe she like was cleaning out her garage and found it. But we do need to see a picture of her scalp to know. For sure right I do agree that. She really dyed her hair. I think her hair has gotten to such a great place like in the last few years because she hadn't been coloring it and she's just growing it I don't think she would risk at all jeopardize that and dye her whole head um Sushi Park what do you think she ate hopefully like something good if we ever go to LA like I need to start a list like we need
Starting point is 00:32:39 to go to Sushi Park 1000% Ben needs to go to Sushi Park and give a review yeah because I don't even know what I would eat there. Right. And how would you know if it's any better if it's just like white rice? Totally. Like anyone can do that. I can judge a facility based on their rice. That is a talent of mine.
Starting point is 00:32:53 But I hear what you're saying. Yeah. Yeah. I'm hungry. I am always hungry. It's just sort of a byproduct of my post-Olympic life. And let me say I'm not enjoying it whatsoever. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Well, we'll get to the next story so I don't keep making you hungry. Is the next story about food? No. Do we have any food news today? We do not. Thank God. Friday is so food news coded. Today's episode of The Toast is supported by State Farm.
Starting point is 00:33:19 We know the toasters can agree that nothing feels better than a personal win. Like when you get a final piece of furniture delivered to your apartment and your home really feels complete. You hit a personal best in a workout. Perhaps you're running. Perhaps a 5K. Well, whatever it is that makes you feel good. Jackie, what's like a personal win you've had recently?
Starting point is 00:33:35 I have home-cooked dinner every single night this week. That was my goal for the week. And I'm about to make beef bourguignon tonight. And then I'm five for five. So whatever it is that you define as a win, it calls for a celebration. And who's cheering right beside you, Jax? Any idea? State Farm. It's true. So with the State Farm personal price plan, you can create an affordable price just for you when you bundle home and auto. Coverage options are selected by the customer. Availability, amount of discounts, and savings and eligibility vary by state. Like a good neighbor state farm is there like a good neighbor state farm is there oh you stole my little rip no but today this next story is again something that like might have not been news on the toast but because of the person that it's about one of our favorite people so underrated now that we're on our desperate housewife journey like she's so top of mind and that's madison de la garza who plays Juanita Solis. Listen, no matter what time of year I'm in,
Starting point is 00:35:07 like I am wanting to hear news about the girl who played Juanita, whose name is Madison De La Garza, who was also Demi Lovato's stepsister. You guys need to know that she's Demi Lovato's little sister. She plays Eva Longoria's daughter on Desperate Housewives in an iconic role of Juanita Solis. And Madison De La Garza is pregnant and expecting her first baby with her boyfriend, Ryan Mitchell. You're literally lying.
Starting point is 00:35:29 Sorry to make you feel old today. Oh my God, how old is she? It's 22. And she posted a photo on social media holding her baby bump while posing with her boyfriend actor, Ryan Mitchell. Oh my God, Madison de la Garza is pregnant. Like, I'm not okay. Juanita Solis, like, we actually, we should start another list, because I actually think this is a good list,
Starting point is 00:35:51 of like, I don't even know what the right word is. Like, not iconic characters, but like, characters from random TV shows, like, who are perfect. Yeah, I agree with that. Do you know what I mean? And it's not the obvious ones. It's not like, you know, Eva Longoria. It's Juanita Solis. Yeah, but also something that like- It's kind of like goat supporting characters. We'll get there, but something that's also like one of my Roman empires is like Juanita Solis
Starting point is 00:36:18 is Demi Lovato's little sister. Oh, it's my Roman empire. I have never stayed there. Like I never moved past that we were watching juanita solis like and sunny with a chance at the same time and we had no idea yeah and life was good also her being 22 makes me realize like we watched desperate housewives when we were so young like we probably didn't understand half of what was really going on yeah i feel like now we're having that experience yeah okay do you have anyone else have anyone else other than Juanita Solis to add to the list right now?
Starting point is 00:36:46 You don't have to. No, but, like, I want to think, like, what I'm thinking of. Because, like, yeah, like, everybody loves Blair Waldorf, but that's not what I'm talking about. Dorota is who you're talking about. Yeah, but she's not, I don't like that. What's a show, like, I recently had a renaissance with? I'll figure it that. What's a show like I recently had a renaissance with? I'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:37:09 Okay. The list will always be here for you. Yeah. Juanita Solis has such a special place in my heart. And if she wasn't Demi Lovato's sister, it wouldn't change that. But the fact that she is just makes it all the better. It like changes everything.
Starting point is 00:37:22 And I say this like with utmost genuine and utmost love, like Mazel Tov on this huge milestone for you, Juanita. I'm sorry, Madison. Like to me, she will always be Juanita. Yeah. Mazel Tov. Like that character was just everything. She seriously was.
Starting point is 00:37:38 And it's crazy she never continued acting because she clearly was extremely talented. Yeah. Well, she's obviously very happy in her personal life yeah and that will mean Demi's gonna be an auntie love that love that I actually was on I wound up on Demi Lovato's Instagram page the other night like okay catching catching up with her because I follow her but like I just because she does like cooking videos so I was like okay like what's Demi cooking what was she cooking and what is she up to otherwise so she's doing a lot of cooking content on Instagram she gets a lot of views yeah she has like hundreds of millions of followers
Starting point is 00:38:14 yeah she like redid her album of you know her songs of like punk rock and nobody cared so she's like I'm just like in her content creation era. Love that. I think she's in a relationship. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She looks good. She looks healthy. Like my Roman empire is the fact that Demi Lovato like was on the brink of
Starting point is 00:38:32 death and is now like fully functioning. It's the craziest thing. Yeah. Really? Really. Are you ready for our fifth and final story, which is in two parts? Like I technically am.
Starting point is 00:38:41 I just want you to know, like, thank you. Like, thank you for sharing that story with me about Juanita like that's really crazy yeah no we need to know what the major milestones in Madison Delgado's life and that's what separates the toast from every other pop culture podcast out there like no one was going to pick that up as a story and that's what's wrong with the world yeah it's so true, twisted world. What publication wrote that up?
Starting point is 00:39:06 People Magazine. Classic, perfect. Perfection. Perfection. Our fifth and final story is in two parts because it's a bit of Kardashian news. Okay, they like seriously, I was thinking about them the other day. I don't know what to make of them.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Even though technically like Kylie is Kardashian news. I don't think of them. Yeah, it's different. Kim Kardashian makes her son Saint sign an extensive contract before starting his YouTube channel. So Kim's son Saint is a YouTuber for now. She made her eight-year-old son sign an extensive contract before allowing him to create the channel, giving her right to make it private or delete it altogether at any moment.
Starting point is 00:39:42 She posted on Instagram that she finally allowed Saint to launch an account on the platform asking them to please subscribe while also sharing a picture of the contract that she made him sign that's clearly written by her because it's in her handwriting it's a contract between saint and kim subject youtube channel i'm literally finding his channel from what we can see it says it's Saint the goat is his handle. Oh my God, literally you. It says Saint West. I, Saint West, agree to follow my mom's rules in order to have a YouTube channel. I'm not allowed to comment any personal family information. I am not allowed to film any personal information.
Starting point is 00:40:21 I am not allowed to film North while North is recording music. Then some of it is covered. And it says, I need to ask a grown-up. I must show my mom or guardian all videos before I post them. I give permission to show and to any grownup. If mom says to delete my video for any reason, if I don't listen to all of the rules, mom could make my page private or delete my account. I literally can't find his account. Like I'm trying.
Starting point is 00:40:40 At the goat saint. Where did she post this? Because it it's on her instagram story but it's expired at the goat saint shouldn't just be like youtube.com slash the goat saint oh you said saint the goat oh sorry my bad the goat saint the goat just want to know how many subscribers he has 11.7k and oh he does like he does, like, gamer type shit. Yeah, so it really shouldn't be, like, personal family information, which makes me think, like, she's so cute. I mean, it's cute that she shared this with us,
Starting point is 00:41:13 and also, like, it's giving, like, lawyer mother. Yeah. But it's, like, because it's not even videos of him, no mom would have ever known if he just, like, wanted to start a YouTube channel. Yeah, but I think he wants to be successful at it, so he needs followers, and his mom has billions. Oh so this is like it's giving nepotism. I do wonder what he who shall not be named thinks of this like I think didn't
Starting point is 00:41:35 they have a very public feud about the kids on social media? Yeah but like North has her TikTok. Yeah but it's Kim's like it's North and Kim and it's just both of them. Yeah but this one seems more I mean he's eight but this one seems more innocuous because like you said like it's just gaming videos. Yeah. So. Well that's cute. He is so cute. I thought you were gonna say Kardashian story that Cindy Crawford is the new face of Good American. That's number two which is Cindy Crawford is the new face of Good American. Was shocking. It was shocking. Now, you hit an inflection point as like a Kardashian brand or any sort of like influencer type brand where you're no longer like considered.
Starting point is 00:42:15 That's not like Khloe Kardashian's brand, right? And I think they hit that point a really long time ago. Good American is like one of the most underrated Kardashian brands. It's the best jeans, the best clothes. They're in every single store. They're in Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's. They're major. I don't think people talk about it enough as like Khloe's business.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Really, they have to be valued at over a billion dollars. Like they crush it. E-commerce, retail, everything. So for Cindy Crawford to be the face of a brand that size, like it's not surprising at all. I don't know why. I just was shocked. I was shocked too because it's also it seems more
Starting point is 00:42:45 like it's like what Skims does with like iconic faces but I also feel like the Skims campaigns are like more short term like per collection whereas like I think this would be a longer thing and I think it's a great get yeah and the thing about Good American it's like you're right they never have like spokesperson they always have the good squad it's always real people they're not models they're just like average looking people different heights sizes and they work with influencers too which are also like real people and then Chloe like that's always been and it's really worked for them I think that a lot of people okay it's not like high fashion but it's real and people really actually wear their stuff every single day I have so many things for them it's really it's a I think it's
Starting point is 00:43:20 one of my favorite Kardashian brands it's amazing um and then Cindy Crawford like yeah she's Cindy Crawford but she's still like of that elk she's an older woman she embraces her age I think it's one of my favorite Kardashian brands. It's amazing. And then Cindy Crawford. Like, yeah, she's Cindy Crawford. But she is still, like, of that elk. She's an older woman. She embraces her age. I think that she still has that level of, like, real that Good American is known for. So I think this is really brilliant. Yeah, I think so, too.
Starting point is 00:43:37 Except I was shocked because Kourtney commented, like, wow, this is incredible. As if she didn't know. And I do wonder because I feel like the girls are so big these days, they actually don't talk to each other. Or it's like, that's just not the sort of thing. Or you're just playing. That, or it's like, yeah, Good American is like, yeah, Chloe's business.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Like when they do catch up, like do they talk about like who they book for their latest campaign? Like maybe not. I don't know. This is like a major milestone for Chloe's company. Like I could see you doing a brand deal that like was, I didn't know you were working with that brand.
Starting point is 00:44:05 I could be like, wow, that's incredible. Okay, let's say the brand was like Chanel. You wouldn't know. Yeah, I wouldn't. I wouldn't. I would hope. Yeah. Turdy for Chanel, I see it.
Starting point is 00:44:17 I mean, if they want to be a successful company, they would, but they obviously don't. So they'll stay flopping. Chanel X Turt. Turt x Chanel my name we actually went to Chanel this summer we did and literally I haven't been to like a store where I literally want to buy everything off the shelf usually like I feel like recently like things have been ugly in stores so like it's easy to like not buy stuff but like we were seriously like not okay everything's so cute the Chanel in East Hampton is like a special store they get like
Starting point is 00:44:43 special items oh my god it was so gargy-pargy. We were like kids in a candy shop. I forgot to mention at the top of the episode, today we also have Queenie and Weenie of the Week, which is so exciting. The show is not over. I had the easiest time picking both my Queenie and my Weenie this week. For me, there were two people that anchored the week
Starting point is 00:44:58 in positive and negative ways. Oh, wow. Let's start with Queenie. Okay. I am tempted to give it to Madison De La Garza this week. Well, I didn't know that she was pregnant when I chose my Queenie. Yeah. But I already had my Queenie,
Starting point is 00:45:13 and it was actually, like, even more Queenie behavior from Gwyneth Paltrow, who has just been, like, such a staunch gargi-pargi ally to the Jewish people, like, one of the few celebrities who put out, like, a meaningful statement after the hostages were executed last week and she just like keeps showing up for us and we don't deserve her actually i would love her i would love her regardless me too right but this as if i couldn't love her anymore like she is seriously my role model in every sense of the word i couldn't love her more i agree i wish i went first because like now mine seems like stupid and vapid but I agree it's okay it's yours and I just want to say like she is a queenie of the week like it's
Starting point is 00:45:51 supposed to be like light I know because the thing is if we really went like with like hardcore weenies of the week like Sinwar Bella Hadid would be the weenie every week yeah no I agree yeah um okay you're a queenie my queenie is Ines de Ramon. Like seriously. That's a good one. That's a good one. She, I kept getting tagged all week and people saying that it looked like me. And even if it doesn't, like that just helped. Like that made me feel good all week.
Starting point is 00:46:12 If I've been carrying this sort of confidence, that's where it came from. I thought she slayed her first big public appearance with her man. I loved everything she wore. I love how she acted. I also recently found out she's been married to Paul Wesley from Vampire Diaries, which
Starting point is 00:46:26 is just like, OK, another notch in her belt. Obsessed. I just didn't know her. And now I'm learning a lot about her and everything I'm learning. I like love. Yeah. My weenie of the week, which I just think it I mean, if the week it's just so hard. But she exuded weenie like behavior.
Starting point is 00:46:43 Me too. Me too. Katy Perry. Jackie, it was seriously so easy. I wrote behavior. Me too. Me too. Katy Perry. Hey Jackie, it was seriously so easy. I wrote it down last night. Like I literally knew. No, it was like when Justin Timberlake got weenie of the week that week. Like it was his week to be a weenie.
Starting point is 00:46:52 She spins slowly inching. Even though she hasn't done anything like actually nefarious such as what Justin did that week. Well, the Dr. Luke thing is bad, but. Oh, I guess. She has been like inching towards weenie hood and I feel like she can feel that in the culture. So she did a lot of things this week to try to undo that. And in turn, she just dug herself like even bigger of a grave.
Starting point is 00:47:12 Her behavior this week was so out of control. It's so funny how like she's my weenie of the week on a week where I listened to her music so much. I'm having a renaissance with Daisies. It's the best song and it's a really good running song. Lifetimes, Woman's World, like, sorry, like two things can be true. Look, I'm holding space for true truth.
Starting point is 00:47:31 Some of the best music she's ever made, in my opinion, and nobody agrees with me and I understand that, like I'm alone on this island. I'm obsessed with her music. Seriously, I think she might be one of the worst,
Starting point is 00:47:40 most insufferable people on the planet. Yeah, like I, she's my winning of the week, but don't forget, like I'm the biggest fan of hers. Right. Music. Right.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Cause we are complex. Like people think they can put us in a box and you seriously can't. No, like nobody. I, I think if I was on like one of those shows, like finish that Katy Perry lyric or like beat Shazam, Katy Perry edition,
Starting point is 00:48:00 like I would win. No. Okay. I'm such a big fan of hers. Remember Kelty and I had that um game show super fan you would seriously be on the Katy Perry episode it's true while also living space for the fact that she's my weenie she is she by the way and I think weenie is the perfect word to describe her because like seriously the way she was acting on that podcast on Call Her Daddy
