Coach.
Turn up, Coach.
Coach, head up, head up, coach.
We're back.
Be excited, coach.
Damn.
He's begging on some.
You're just facing the phone.
You know what he's doing?
He's texting Ryan Day.
He's like, standby.
Stand by Coach Day.
We're going to have you up on the triple option next.
He's ready to go.
He's Urban Meyer, Mark King, from the second.
I'm Rob Stone.
Thanks for joining us.
As we just mentioned, Buckeye head coach, Ryan Day will join us from Columbus after that big
win at Iowa.
We answer your questions.
We say, what is next?
in the QB room in Ann Arbor.
My goodness, Mark gives you his dog of the week,
and we look ahead to a couple of matchups,
including Bama and Georgia.

Guess what?
You said Wednesday.
You said Wednesday.
Every Monday.
It was another.
great weekend on what, Mark?
Any heavy Saturday.
All right, so this week we wanted to turn the spotlight on to you, our listeners, and our viewers
with questions and comments that you have sent us over the course of the season.
They were posting them up on our social media account, 3X option show.
So let's start.
At Buckeye Natty, I'd love to hear Coach Meyer's thoughts on efficiency versus explosiveness on
offense.
Yeah, I think it's very rare.
Yeah, it's very rare to be able to drive the ball 80 yards without someone screwing up.
So I think the mix is, you know, that's the easy answer.
Efficiency, but also, you know, once every five plays, you got to shoot that thing down the field.
It's just you can't be that relying on 15 play drives because those are rare.
At some point, we kind of had a clock in our head.
And I was a reminder of our coordinator, once you got two first downs, take a shot.
Get them off you.
And if you come down with it, then, you know, it's, you know, it's, you know,
I think it's both, but you have to have explosiveness.
And that's, we're going to talk about a program right now.
I see zero explosiveness.
Save it.
I know, I know exactly.
Oh, my God.
I know exactly where coach is going with this one.
All right, Mark, this one's more for you, big blow.
In response to Alabama being 26 for 26 in the red zone.
Pretty good.
Doesn't get better than that.
Keel and Russell is the real deal.
But Georgia is a step up in competition.
Can Bama keep it up?
We are going to talk this game a little bit later with our picks.
I don't give away too much.
But how about this?
What have you seen from Russell so far this season that has put a smile in that beautiful face?
Well, I think the first thing that you can look at and be proud of is the growth from week to week.
He's looked comfortable more and more each and every week.
He's leading the offense as a leader.
He can throw the ball in a tight window.
He's very accurate.
He also is explosive with his legs.
So you talk about being 26 in the red zone.
that's efficient. That's making good decisions.
And that's obviously the offensive line and being able to run the football as well.
Now you got Georgia coming to town.
It's a more supposed to step up, like he said, in competition.
Last year, when we played them in the SEC championship, negative three rushing yards.
So you will have to be able to dominate the line of scrimmage.
And Keel and Russell, I think this is a maturity test for him, being able to take what the defense gives him.
It's going to be tighter coverage.
They obviously have better athletes.
So you're going to have to throw in the tighter windows, especially in the red zone.
So I think what's going to come down to is our offensive line being able to block us being able to run the football.
And Keelan also being able to make the right decisions in tighter, condensed windows,
but also being able to use his legs when stuff breaks down.
So I'm proud of this young bull, man.
And he's a special player and we're lucky to have him.
If there wasn't Jeremiah Smith kind of running away with the Heisman right now,
Keelan would be getting a lot more attention in that category.
Listen, Keelan keeps playing the way he is.
It would go to New York.
It'll be a tough, it'll be a tough ass to be able to take the Heisman from him.
He keeps playing the way he does.
What year is he, he?
He's a true sophomore.
Wow.
Now, Jeremiah Smith is the best player in the world.
He is by far in college football.
But this dude Keeler Russell, he keeps playing at this level.
Alabama keeps winning football games of the magnitude that they're going to play on Saturday
is going to be hard to take it from him.
And again, Coach Ryan Day, the head coach Ohio State,
joining us in a moment.
Yes, we will be talking to him about Jeremiah.
Smith. Let's go. Eric Beatty. Remember last week we had
John Sumerl join us on the triple option. I had a great conversation with him.
He says, Florida will be fine. Now the coaches will have the team's complete attention
again. Coach, do you agree after Mazoo beat the Gators 45 to 17? I would argue, I mean,
it was a beat down. A little precursor to the. Yeah. So like clearly something got lost in
translation from the win over Ole Miss to the collapse at Missouri.
But I can't imagine Coach Somerall ever lost anybody's attention.
No, I don't think it's a coach.
I think the reality is in Gainesville and probably Tuscaloosa,
but I can speak for Gainesville and Columbus that I used to tell people,
I wish I could just take my players away on the desert island for three months
and get them the hell away from everybody because fans are nuts.
And you start believing the hype.
And Florida is one of the places about as serious as I've ever seen as far as you just got to somehow get your guys away from that mess.
And so I don't know if that's what happened.
I'm not spoke to him yet this week.
But that was an ass beating that I did not see come.
And I picked the gators in it.
That was everything that you saw, that you saw nothing like it in the first part of the season from Florida.
You saw the opposite.
You saw rugged.
You saw play hard.
You saw smart.
It was a mess.
the little bit that I've seen so far of that game.
But they'll be back.
They've got a good staff.
They'll be back.
Scott Boring asked, do college football coaches have a preference between athletes that just play football versus those that play multiple sports?
If so, what sports are most beneficial to play?
Coach, I know you got strong feelings on this one.
Sure, very strong feelings as a parent because all three my kids were Division I athletes.
But, yeah, I only speak to, you know, coaches I really know.
And I'm pretty sure this is pretty unanimous.
Absolutely, they should play other sports.
The one sport that I think should be mandated is basketball.
You know, there's nothing like big people moving your feet and playing defense and bending.
And, you know, baseball is such a unique skill sets.
Same with golf, same with tennis.
But when you start playing basketball, watch the movement.
When a big man played basketball, I normally took that guy.
And I'm talking about offensive and defense alignment.
So I think the basketball, and I would always, and our coaches knew it, if they wanted me to go take a kid that I wasn't sure about.
And he played basketball, I'd be on a flight to go watch practice or watch a game.
And I'd stand right there.
And what, not, I don't care if he scored or not.
It's just how does he play the game?
And I love basketball, and I think everybody should play it.
How does he move?
Did you ever see a recruit play soccer that wasn't a kicker?
I had not.
Soccer really wasn't big back.
then. I know. I think soccer was bigger for younger. I think that's changing all the, all the,
you know, the World Cup and everything. But no, back when I was coaching, soccer was for little
kids, you know, you just didn't see much of the. AYSO. Yeah. I'm surprised you didn't mention
track and field, coach, you know, that's, first thing to ask, can he run? Absolutely. Yeah,
track and field. That's a given. First thing, can he run? Can he or she run? You had division
on athletes. The first thing any coach wants to know, can he run, can he move? Now, I'm going to ask you
this, Mark, what's the most evaluation-friendly event attract me?
Obviously, the 100, but what else?
The most evaluation-friendly event?
I'm telling you, I never missed on a player when I took them for this event that they were great at.
If he ran the 400.
Nope.
Steeplechase.
No.
No, no, no, no, no.
Discus.
Lines.
The 110 hurdle.
110 hurdles?
Oh, that's all.
That's it.
That's Zique.
So Zick because of that.
Yeah, that's a grown man's race.
That's a grown man race.
That's acceleration, explosion.
I ain't running those sticks, man.
Those short lagers would have a hard time getting over those men.
Man, Zick's the same right.
What are you talking about?
He doesn't have a big, like you have, though.
You'd have a...
What?
Two shots.
That's two shots, do's deuce.
Me and Zik really like the same prototype.
The wild swings in the SEC this year,
have been kind of crazy, right?
Remember, Old Miss gets that win over LSU,
and then they absolutely vault, vault up.
And then what happens to Old Miss,
they get pounded by Florida.
Florida jumps up.
So the Missouri win over Florida gave them the second biggest jump by a team this season
in the AP poll.
So Missouri went up 11 spots all the way up to number 14.
remember. We were kind of joking last week on Big Noon kickoff.
Like, why is Missouri even still ranked? Like, just hanging on there at 25, yet they get
this big win and they jump 11 spots. The biggest jump of the year, it was Florida going
up 13 spots after the win over Ole Miss. So these AP voters are giving wild value to these
SEC in-conference wins. And it doesn't totally make sense, right? Like, Indiana keeps dropping.
And I know their schedule, say,
you will about them, but they keep going down.
And then you get an SEC win, and I feel like the voters' eyes mark are blinded, like,
oh, that's a double-digit jump.
All of a sudden, all of a sudden, Ole Miss is a national title contender.
All of a sudden, Florida is a national title contender.
All of a sudden, LSU is now back in at number 10.
All of a sudden, Missouri is now inside, you know, the top 15.
Right.
These wild fluctuations that you wouldn't see in any other conference.
To me, man.
To me.
Listen, the rankings are the rankings.
The AP going to do what the AP do at the end of the day.
It doesn't even matter until, what, a couple weeks to the playoff committee starts ranking people.
Totally fair.
Totally fair.
Yeah, the AP, people always got their beef their grass with AP.
They're going to jump people up, especially the SEC stuff.
You know what I mean?
I'm a SEC guy.
But it doesn't even matter until the playoff people start, the playoff committee starts ranking people.
And we feel one way about the AP.
we feel more we're about the playoff committee.
The rank for the rankings, whatever, you know.
I do think there is some credence to the fact that the college football playoff ranking people do just kind of take a side eye to the AP poll just to make sure, like, they feel we're within a certain range.
Yeah.
Of what the temperature is out there?
You didn't ask, but let me throw this in there.
The way I've started to train my mind to look like, Indiana's 2 and O to me.
I don't even, I don't watch the highlights.
I don't care.
You know, I don't, and I hope our voters do that.
I think the CFP should do the same thing.
You know, I look at Ohio State's close loss of Texas
as a much better performance than playing Howard.
I don't even look at Howard.
That's not, why would you look at that?
I don't think they should count.
I think at some point there should be some kind of bylaw that says,
yeah, you can do whatever you want, but you're going to finish season, you know,
nine and, nine and oh or something, because it just does not count.
That's not fair to both sides.
It's not good for the game.
So, you know, the mercy rule.
Remember, we had that nonsense conversation.
Coach, you said it.
They did it last year, and they won the Natty.
Yeah.
So they can do it, but it just doesn't count.
And I would agree, you beat Florida at home.
You need to jump.
Yes.
You need to jump, certainly over teams that don't play anybody.
So I don't know if I've agreed to Indiana and going backwards,
but Indiana's 2-0 right now.
And they've got a massive test Saturday.
Massive.
Massive.
In Lincoln, an unbeaten Nebraska team.
Games come back.
And then they know Ohio State real fast.
Fast, fast.
We're going to find out about Indiana.
The SEC, this is from D Short 3.
D Short. Short.
D Short.
Three.
I know.
You know what we're all thinking right now?
Pick six.
Shawley.
So D Short 3 says the SEC is a regular season conference.
The Big Ten runs the postseason, at least the last three years.
Does the SEC need to win the Natty this year, Mark, to be back,
on top of college football.
I feel like they need to have a better showing in the playoffs,
and I feel like they need to have a better showing in bowl games,
because what do people always resort to?
The Big Ten's head-to-head record against the SEC in bowl games,
the Big Ten's head-to-head record in the playoffs.
So do they need to win the Natty?
It would definitely help, yes,
but I think they need to have a better showing in head-to-head matchups overall,
regular season and post-season.
And I think that will help people accept the fact that, you know,
SEC might be, you know, tilting the scale back in their favor a little bit.
I think they've been the strongest conference this year.
They have been. No doubt.
They have been.
No doubt, right?
But when you're Vanderbilt and you play everyone on your starters and you go play Iowa in the bowl game and you get beat,
those are middle tier teams in the conferences, and that's what they talk about.
We talk about having more depth.
When your depth loses to their depth, they say the conference is superior.
So you have to have a better showing head-to-head matchups overall, in my opinion.
Just pure film evaluation of, you know, I know the, you got the Wolverines, Penn State, Illinois,
seemed to be way down from what they were.
And then you got a couple, you got A&M and who's the other one, Oklahoma is kind of, you know,
kind of bit the apple and the other side.
So just pure film evaluation, the SEC's better conference.
Yeah.
Ken, we just give a little love to the Big 12 right now while I have the moment.
Because I love what this conference is doing.
Currently, five Big 12 teams are ranked.
That's pretty good, right?
That's pretty good for that conference.
Do you want me to name them?
I can tell you where they are right now.
Utah.
BYU is at 8.
Texas Tech is at 11.
Utah's right under them at 12.
Where am I going to Oklahoma State up a spot to 18 this week?
and Houston down a couple of spots to 21.
But here's what's really interesting.
If the college football playoffs began today, based on the AP poll,
two from the Big 12 are dancing.
Two programs.
That's like the next step for the Big 12.
Can we not just get the one kind of ceremonial team in?
Can we really get two in?
Yes, you can.
And right now, BYU would go in as an eight-seed and host Ole Miss.
Texas Tech would be an 11 seed.
they would be at Alabama.
A lot of football to be played.
I get it.
They had a championship game
and they probably kicked one of them out.
Understood.
But I love the fact that there's a conversation right now
and a legit conversation that two big 12 teams can't be in the college football playoffs.
I was pulling for Cincinnati and they laid an egg on me.
Oh, well.
That happens.
All right, Mark, you're going to get this one as well.
This is Lieutenant Bamba 918.
Lieutenant.
I guess so. It says L.T.
So I'm going to go with Lieutenant Bama 918, which by the way sounds pretty awesome.
I would put that on the back of my shirt.
Who's that?
That's Lieutenant Bama 918.
So 918 must be an area code or something.
Lieutenant Bama, 918, reported for service.
Who do I need to talk to to Mark the Minister of Culture at Alabama?
Lieutenant Bell, what that's what I'm talking about?
This is the type of stuff we need.
You need to go ahead and talk to Greg Byrne, A.D.
You're going to talk to President Mueller, the president of the school.
And we need to make this happen because Belmont needs an administrator of culture.
The minister of culture.
Is that a job you need this?
Is that a job you would accept?
I accept Mark Ingram II.
Minister of culture.
Minister of swag.
Minister of the...
The dogs.
I am him.
Minister of culture for the University of Alabama.
Give me my name to have.
Give me my office.
It's time to go, baby.
Lieutenant Bamma 918, and you're going to be there right there with me
because you brought this to fruition.
I want more Lieutenant Bamma 911 918.
By the way, do you know where the 911 area code is?
You get one guess.
Tennessee somewhere? No.
Coach.
Birmingham.
Northeastern Oklahoma, including the major city of Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and Muskegee.
All right.
Lieutenant Bamma, 918.
Enjoy your minute of fame here.
Appreciate you, Lieutenant Bam.
Yeah, and we appreciate all of you guys with the questions and the comments.
Again, send them to social media 3X option show on all the platforms.
All right, that was fun.
Hopefully we can do that again.
College football rivalries, they don't have an offseason.
Nobody works harder at keeping beef fresh than college football fans.
Well, except our friends at Wendy's.
At Wendy's, they use fresh, never frozen beef for hot and juicy burgers.
So when it comes to keeping beef fresh,
they know a thing or two.
Which is why they have a lot of respect for college football fans.
Keeping the same beef fresh for decades isn't easy.
I should know.
Most people move on, college football fans turn it into tradition.
And while there's nothing they can do about the beef between you and your rivals,
they can make sure the beef on your game day menu is fresh.
So this season, whether you're tailgating before kickoff
or spending four quarters reminding rival fans,
why they're wrong.
Just remember, your team's beef is never frozen.
and neither is theirs.
Wendy's, bring the beef, fresh beef, available in the contiguous U.S., Alaska, and Canada.

Michigan's loss at Minnesota.
We were there with Big Noon kickoff.
By the way, before we get into this question,
all praise to the great people at the University of Minnesota and the state of Minnesota.
What a great crowd.
Awesome.
Turn out.
They did that.
How many apples do you?
did you guys eat?
Did you eat any of those apples?
I didn't realize Minnesota was such an apple.
You traveled an apple from Minnesota?
Well, you're damn right I did.
Michigan's loss at Minnesota.
So now the Wolverines coach, 3 and 2 overall, 0 and 2 in the cellar of the Big 10.
Bryce Underwood, 10 of 21, 101, 2 picks.
That's through the air.
He ran it just 10 times 20 yards.
After the game, here's his head coach.
Kyle Whittingham asked if changes were coming.
to the offense. Here's Wittingham.
Well, we'll sit down with the entire
offense and get
everybody's input and everybody's
perspective and there's
nobody more frustrated than Coach Beck.
I mean, his track record is outstanding as an offensive
coordinator and so
we might have to make some tough decisions
here. We'll see. But
you know, right now, to this
point, through this
portion of the season, it's unacceptable.
The results are unacceptable right now.
just a kiss of context to that.
Michigan is entering their byweek.
So this is a typical time that you would certainly re-evaluate,
do some self-scouting, see where you are.
But coming up on the schedule, this is crazy.
Back-to-back home games versus Big Ten bangers, Penn State and Indiana.
So, Coach, what a beautiful day it was in Minneapolis.
And you and I kind of talked after we did our halftime show,
like, you want to go down the field and just enjoy football at this beautiful day?
So we went down.
By the way, Mark, this stunned me.
Coach and I walk down the stairs.
We get on the field, and we're right on the Minnesota sideline.
And I see this pocket of sunshine.
And I'm like, oh, let's just go.
Coach, I point over there.
I'm like, let's go over here.
He goes, let's go over to the other sideline.
I'm like, we're walking over to the Michigan sideline.
Coach trying to check it out.
Well, again, he's got his boy waiting half over there.
There's a lot of stuff going on with Coach in Michigan lately.
He's going to the Michigan side line.
I've seen him.
He's in their offices.
And the block and next to each other on the graphic on Fox.
I'm like, it's a lot of weird stuff going on here, man.
Yeah, I normally could give a damn about that place, but I do now.
I understand.
I got five or six former players, coaches on that staff.
Plus, it's, you know, it's an enigma right now.
And I'm going to do a quick history lesson and go back when Kyle,
coach Wittingham called me, who to this day,
still arguably the best I've ever been around, Mark.
I've said that many times.
And what in the heck is going on?
And then so Mark and I or Rob and I, we went, I mean, we were right there.
And I wanted to see.
Because a lot of times, a whole second half coach.
A lot of times, Mark, you were beautiful about this, I bet.
On the sideline, man, if you have grown-ass men,
James don't get away from you.
Very rarely.
Very rarely because grown-ass men take care of business.
I did not feel it.
I did not see it.
they had three turnovers, bang, bang, bang, right in front of me.
You can blame Bryce Underwood all you want.
I don't see any explosiveness on offense.
I see a quarterback getting hammered.
You know, I don't know.
And I go back to Coach Witt.
First of all, they're two and three.
The record is not three and two.
You know, I know they lost Western Michigan.
So the answer is, yes, the change has now been forced upon them.
Coaches, we got to get to Coach Meyer records because you're given, you give him,
You're taking away wins.
You're giving losses.
Indiana's 2 and O.
Indiana's 2 and 0.
Coach,
Wolverines are 2 and 3.
What are you against Alabama all time, coach?
2 and 1.
Well, not all time.
2.
No, no.
I don't know about all time, but against me.
3 and 3.
There's a hazy one.
There's a hazy one with Bama.
So that's an enigma right now.
And I don't see a fast solution at all because
it's it.
I have not said this yet.
It's a train wreck right now.
I stood right there.
watched it.
The one thing that kept coming up when you and I were sitting on that sideline,
this was through the course of the entirety of the second half,
was where are the dudes that put fear in you?
Where are the dudes that can take over a game?
And really, there was only one guy who fit that bill.
And it's the guy that's having all the heat on him, Underwood.
Right.
He's the only, he's the explosion.
And I said that to you, when he against Oklahoma,
a couple of those runs, you're like, damn, there you go.
Big fast athlete.
You know, you have JJ Buchanan, you have Marsh.
I think they're good players.
I don't see first rounders out there bouncing around like you used to seeing the Wolverines now.
Or even second rounders.
Maybe I'm missing something.
Yeah.
But we've watched them closely now.
And the only first round athlete on the field is Bryce Underwood.
But that's an athlete.
He's not a quarterback.
He's not playing.
But coach, he wouldn't be a first round quarterback.
No, no, no.
No, no.
I said first round athlete.
First round athlete.
Let's make him into a wide receiver type thing.
We're talking about people who looked apart.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, we're talking about people who looked at.
Am I missing something, Mark?
We've had it.
We've covered them a bunch.
No.
I mean, we've seen their backs that we've seen receivers.
We've seen Lyme and we've seen tight ends.
And we haven't seen that type of playmaker,
that type of difference maker on that offense.
Now, the defense is playing tough,
but they're also playing 100 snaps because the offense is going three and out.
So we haven't seen that type of playmaker,
that first round athlete on the Michigan offense come to fruition yet.
So, coach, you were talking about.
those back-to-back-to-back turnovers. One was a botched punt. One was an interception. One was
Underwood was hit as he was throwing and it got picked off. I will say this. There were a couple
other passes that probably should have been picked or even could have been picked sixes.
You got a buy week. You got time and you got a talented QB in Tommy Carr just kind of
sitting there. And if you're looking at your offense and looking at what they have done and they
haven't done.
Despite all the money that's going to Underwood, do you just say like, hey, my, my obligation
is to this team, is to this locker room, is to get some wins.
And it's not working with this young man under center.
Is it time to just try something different?
I know how Coach Whit feels about Carr.
He brought that up to me in the spring.
I really likes him.
He's a little under, you know, a little slight development wise because he's skinny,
skinny dude, and I saw him on the sideline there.
So you made a good point.
So here's where we're at.
I'd say the previous weeks, no.
Because I saw some improvement with Bryce Underwood.
He played his best game, Arkansas, Iowa.
He looked like a quarterback.
Look, they were doing some good things with him.
You saw the athleticism.
I didn't even see that they didn't run them very much Saturday.
10 carries.
But I think the result is now it's been thrust upon you if C.J. Carr, in your mind,
can give you a chance to win.
Tommy Carr.
Tommy.
I'm sorry, CJ's brother.
He's in.
And you have a by week to get him ready.
Now, here's the reality.
I don't know, Bryce Underwood.
Coach, this is Monday.
Is he in today?
If you're going to make that change,
does Tommy Carr have to be notified
and the team notified today on Monday?
I would say yes.
I'm trying to think if I've ever had this situation.
I don't really, in 20 years, I don't think I have.
So I would say yes.
Now, here's the real dilemma.
Does Bryce, I don't know this.
Does Bryce Underwood grab his bag and say I'm good?
I have no idea, Mark.
We don't know.
We don't know what's happening.
We don't know what's happening.
I don't know what kind of person.
I hear he's a good dude, Bryce.
But that's,
you talk about the,
that's going to be a lot of pressure on that dude, man.
This is all hypotheticals because we don't know that Tommy Carr is even taking over the snaps right now.
We have no clue.
And the fact of the matter is, can the guy,
can the young man help you and put you in a better position than you're in?
and if he can't, then you let it ride, like coach said.
You know what I mean?
And only the people in that building know.
If I'm a player and I've seen the backup quarterback,
I've seen him take reps.
I've seen him go against the number one defense.
You know if that guy has a chance to give you a shot or not.
And if he does, you have to put him in
or you have a chance of, you know,
the team not losing trust in you, right?
So we don't know what's going to happen.
We don't know how they feel about Tommy Carr.
We don't know if he's available and ready.
We don't know if he's ready for the task,
but if he's not, then you've got to ride with Bryce Underwood,
and he has shown some improvement.
And this is not just an all-Brice problem here.
I was going to say that.
This is not an all-Brice problem.
This is what we have to get going across.
Like, the kid needs more playmakers on the outside.
They're not running the football worth a dang.
The running backs themselves are, it was like 90 yards per game,
and it's less than that now.
So you don't have a great supporting cast around him,
which definitely doesn't allow the quarterback to be able to shine.
So this is a bigger problem than just price Underwood.
Does money factor into this decision, Mark, the big money that Underwood is being paid?
I feel like if you're shelling him three, four million dollars, whatever it is,
it probably buys you at least another start or three.
That leash is long.
Right?
But that leash right now is like, ooh.
It's tight.
Ooh, you're up against.
You know how you click the thing and the dog.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like the leash is getting shorter, but I just am hesitant to put the blame on this kid all because it's a bigger problem than just him.
I stood on that.
I'm going to go back to the sideline mark, and you made a good point.
This is not all on him.
Unfortunately, it pays that position that it is fall on him.
You know, whenever they win, the quarterback gets too much glory, and when they lose, they get too much blame.
But that sideline, I just didn't feel the dudes anywhere.
And I was looking.
I was staring.
You know, plays are going on, and I'm staring.
because I did that for so long.
And I'm saying, where are the grown-ass men?
And I didn't feel it.
I didn't see it when there had to be a big stop.
I didn't see the, you know, the energy.
And, you know, I just didn't see it.
And still college football, to me, so much different than pro,
still passion, energy and toughness.
I didn't, I didn't see it.
That D's for real.
The kid's getting hit in his mouth.
He's getting hit.
That's protection.
Don't have a run game.
They're not getting separation with receivers.
We can put it all on breast earner with as much as we want.
The kid is improving.
The kid has had a good attitude, but it's not all on Bryce Underwood.
Boy, they got a tough-ass schedule coming up, two points.
You got By-Wing, Penn State, Indiana, Rutgers, Michigan State at Oregon.
And UCLA comes to the Big House.
And at Ohio State.
And at Ohio State to end it up.
Oops.
Yeah.

Oops is right.

College football season, it's finally here,
and there's nothing quite like a college football Saturday.
But you two guys know better than most
what it means when an entire season builds towards that championship stage.
You know, I remember, Mark, our first national championship run,
and that was in 06.
Really, we didn't think we'd be there.
This is back in the BCS era where there was only two teams that would make it,
and ironically, we got to play Ohio State.
There's nothing like it, man,
and being able to, obviously,
winning national championship with the squad,
win the Heisman Trophy.
There's nothing quite like chasing those goals
with your boys, man.
The blood, sweat, and tears you put in,
and I'm glad that these young guys
going to be able to experience it soon,
and especially it's going to be in Vegas.
And we know how Vegas gets, man.
It's going to be turned up.
It's going to be electric atmosphere.
So, man, national championships,
Heismans and Vegas, sign me up, dog.
I'm all for it.
Yes, sir.
And this year, the road to Vegas is real
For the first time, as you mentioned, Las Vegas is hosting the college football playoff national championship.
College football doesn't just end in Las Vegas.
It builds there all season from opening kickoff through rivalry weekend to the college football playoff national championship.

Welcome back to the triple option presented by Wendy's.
We take the show to Columbus, Ohio right now.
Bring in the head coach of the Ohio State.
Ryan Day.
Got Maryland at home this week and then a road trip at Indiana,
the following Saturday. Coach Day,
thanks for joining the triple option.
Yeah, good to be here, guys.
We used to have a saying when we were together that
you don't know a team until contact has made.
That was that militaristic model.
And then remember what you would always say,
and by the way, contact will be made.
And contact was made at the end of the Texas game.
And you don't know until you know.
You have 16 new players.
To me, it looks like they responded with great effort
and all the above.
how has your team responded to the end of that Texas game?
Well, so much of it was during the off-season.
We really spent a lot of time bringing this team together.
And when you have that many new guys, half your team is new,
you think guys know you make assumptions,
but they've never been through it before.
They don't know what it's like at Ohio State.
I mean, guys come from different programs,
and it's all good, but like you're not allowed to lose.
lose a game here. And so that mindset has to change. It's not being arrogant. It's just what it is.
And so, you know, trying to explain that as we head into the season, you know, and working through
all of those things. And then when you get into a game like that and the way it went, you know,
it brings you to your knees. And so, you know, you got to regroup. But what I told those guys is
is I know what I saw for three quarters. And I know what this team can be. And so when that happens,
I mean, it's all about accountability.
And, you know, today's day and age, everybody wants to, you know, as we used to say,
Coach Blame, complain and defend.
And that's what we all had to avoid, you know, players and coaches included and figure out,
all right, what is this team going to look like?
You know, this is not last year's team.
It's not any, this is this year's team.
And so we just had to get back to work and fix those things.
And, you know, I think this weekend allowed us an opportunity to go on a road and, you know,
establish some things.
And so I think we're building that identity as we continue to work through the season with this group.
You know, before I hand us off to Mark, you said something.
I just think it's so cool that it's not my problem anymore.
It's yours.
But it honestly, Mark, it's my job description when Gene Smith handed it to me.
It's first time ever in my career.
It did say win every game.
I mean, that's, is there any place, I guess maybe Bama back in the Sabin?
But you're not like seriously, you're not allowed to lose a game.
And waking up every day with that, and like you said, you're getting players from all over the country.
How do you get that to the, you know, that's got to be early in and, you know, 16 new players.
And by the way, boys, welcome to how this day.
We can't lose.
So let's get our ass going.
Well, you got to challenge them, you know, and you were the best at that.
You know, you got to challenge the coaches and you got to challenge these players.
You know, look them right in the eye and see how they respond.
And again, it's not being arrogant, but it's like, you know, you going, you know, eight and five or whatever it was last.
year, I know that was good where you were at, but it's not going to be good here.
Everyone's going to be having to leave. You know, like, you have to understand that that's what it is.
And I think sometimes, sometimes their pride gets in the way. Like, hey, man, I've been somewhere for three years.
I got a lot of pride where I came from. And so they fight it a little bit early on.
But then after a while, you embrace, okay, this is this is a whole different deal.
And so, you know, no one, no one made you come to Ohio State. You know, no, no, no,
made you coach at Ohio State. Like, this is what you chose. So this is what you have to buy into.
And I think when you have guys that are here for two, three, four, and five years,
they understand that a little bit more.
So getting these guys up to speed has to have a lot of urgency right now.
Coach, man, you've had the pleasure of coaching some tremendous receiver,
some of the best in the league, Jeremiah Smith.
We know how dominant he's been.
I got him number one on my Heisman battle right now.
We know how special and gifted he is physically.
We know that he is the best player on the team, but also the hardest worker.
We know he has a great backing and support.
system around him, but what can you share with us that people might not know that makes him
so great? I mean, you would love to be around him every day. He's as serious as it gets. He's as
competitive as it gets. And he practices so freaking hard every day. Like, you've got to pull him back.
And it almost becomes an argument sometimes. I need this rep. We've got to have this rep. And so
that's why he's in so rhythm with the quarterback all the time because he's out there running those
routes. And so, you know, if he sticks it at 10 and we need to stick it at 12 or, you know,
whatever those things are, he gets the confidence of the quarterback because he's always out
there running these routes. And he's a perfectionist. But he's a guy that's not about me,
though. As competitive as he is, he just wants to win. I mean, when you saw Devin McEwen catch the
double move on second in 19, I mean, he is going wild because he knew what a big play that
was for the team. And so it's just such a great example for the other players. I mean,
Yeah, you just can't imagine how hard he works every day in practice.
It's like a coach's dream, quite honestly.
You know, I talked to Mark Pantone about him, Coach Day,
and talk about his lifestyle.
I was asking him, he said he wakes up every morning.
I said, does he have a girlfriend?
What does he do?
He goes, no one really knows he's kind of quiet,
but he has no desire to do anything other than to be the very best of what he does.
I don't know if I've ever heard that.
you know, at that kind of the, that kind of a player.
And the sacrifices he makes because he can't go downtown.
I mean, he's become like a culture.
I mean, you saw it with, you know, Tebow and the guys you coach, like, they can't go downtown.
They can't go anywhere.
So you have to make sacrifices.
And like, that's what he has done his whole career.
He just had that mindset.
Like he has the facility and he has home.
And I think, quite honestly, like, that can get lonely.
it can. And so he's really grabbed on to the people here in this building. I mean, this is sort of his,
you know, we used to call it sanctuary. I mean, I think it is a sanctuary. You know, this is a safe
place right here. And I think that's why when you watch him, you know, he really does love Ohio State.
He loves this place because it's more than just what's going on in the field. Because this is,
when you look at him, you don't think he's still just a young man, but he is. He's only in year three.
Right. And, and so, yeah, I think, you know, he's had to do that, but he's also matured.
in a lot of ways in the three years here.
With where he sits in the Heisman conversation, coach,
do you find yourself saying maybe let's give him one more series
and try and bump a couple of these numbers up
just to make sure those Heisman voters come December
are fully aware of his capabilities
and what he's been able to do?
So if that's the way he was wired, I would say yes,
but that's not how he's wired.
He cares about one thing, and that's beating the rival
and that's winning a national championship,
win the Big Ten championship.
That's it.
He doesn't care about any of that.
stuff. If people can't recognize who the best player at college football is, then that that's their
business. But like, he's not interested in that. Does he want to win the husband? Yeah, he's
competitive, one of the most competitive dudes ever been around. He wants it all. But he also recognizes
what the most important thing is. So, you know, we're going to do what we can to win games. And if
we're doing that, then he's going to have a chance to win the whole thing. You brought up beating
the rival. And we've noticed that from him as well. Like, he jumps into that rivalry with that
program up north. When's the last time you saw a guy that was that invested into Ohio State,
Michigan? There's a lot of them over the years. There's a lot of them. But he's, you know,
he now he didn't grow up in Ohio. So, you know, so much of, you know, the foundation of our program
are guys that grew up in the area. You know, the guys from Ohio, you know, Luke Montgomery's,
the Jack Sawyers, I mean, the Sunny Stiles, these guys grew up. They understand it. They were
three and four and five years old when on Saturday.
after Thanksgiving, I mean, it meant everything to their family.
So that's the foundation.
But then these other guys who come in from different parts of the country, they quickly
learn how important it is.
And you think about his experience, his freshman year.
And then, you know, throughout that whole, and then winning the national championship.
I mean, he learned really quickly.
And so he's embraced it in a big way.
So last question about Jeremiah.
So the mom and dad must be unbelievable.
I mean, when you start, this doesn't just happen.
Yeah, I'd love to tell you that, you know, we, we, you know, develop this mindset,
but it's not the truth.
He came in this way.
And so absolutely, his mom and dad are unbelievable.
And during the process, like, their relationship has just been very strong.
Exactly what we said we were going to do.
We did exactly what they said they were going to do.
They did.
He's got a really, you know, his uncle's great, really good coaches down there.
So it's, yeah, you're right.
I mean, he had the right mindset from a young age.
Coach, you know, I'm a running back.
some big running back guy, follow your backs, both the Jackson's.
Earlier this season, you challenged them to create some more explosives in the run game.
I thought that they've been running really hard, being really physical.
How do you think they responded to that message?
And have you been proud of how they responded to it?
Well, I think that they ran hard the other day against the defense that typically you don't run the ball very much on.
I think that they were hard yards.
I think everybody was involved with it.
I thought the offensive line, tight ends, even the wide receivers were in there knocking around the safeties.
I mean, when you put the film on, there's people getting after it.
I think they ran hard as well.
But so I think they answered the challenge.
But we're going to continue to challenge them because if we're going to get to where we need to be,
you think about the national championship run that we had with Trayvion and Quintan,
when coach won it was Zeke.
I mean, you know, when you were there, like, you've got to have those guys.
If you want to go win those big games, you've got to be able to run the ball and have a back that you can count on.
So they know the challenge.
I think they were responding, but we're going to keep challenging.
Urban would tell us that they always did some Michigan drills.
There was always something involving Michigan through the course of whether it was fall camp or spring, summer, whatever it was.
Now that Indiana has become this team, at what stage do you start kind of investing Ohio State time into what Indiana is going to be?
And I know it's coming in two weeks.
Well, when you looked at our schedule, I mean, there's a lot of monster games on the schedule this year.
So the big thing for us right now is like we've got to continue to get better and making sure that we're putting these guys in a situation to be successful.
So like for instance, Quay Russo, I thought played his best game by far.
I thought what we did with him on defense and the steps he took was big.
And you see Christian Allegro starting to show up.
I mean, these are guys that, you know, we didn't know much about until we started getting into these games and started to figure him out.
So Jacoby Jackson were learning more about.
Devin McEwen, you know, had some big catches in the game.
So for us, it's more about refining what we're doing
and making sure that we're doing the right stuff
that's right for these guys.
But for sure, like, you know, we have to be looking ahead.
We have people in the building that are ahead of all this stuff,
making sure that, you know, the scheme is going to be right.
But at the end of the day, it's going to come down to us
more than it is our opponent.
So where are you guys right now if you're to give your team a grade heading into Maryland?
Yeah, I wouldn't say a grade because I just think we need to have a good win at Iowa
in that type of environment coming off what happened the week before.
I thought there was really good things.
The issues are always there.
We have a lot of areas we've got to get better at.
And so the challenge is for everybody to improve and an upgrade.
I usually have done this before, like the Apple phone, like the 2.0 and the 3.0,
that stuff doesn't work anymore.
You can't even turn it on.
I said, so if we're in the Apple 4.0 next week, we're going to get our ass kicked by Maryland.
It just has to be the mindset.
So we have to continue to upgrade.
It has to be a challenge.
Everything we do, there's got to be, whether you're,
watching a little more film, you're practicing a little harder, you're getting extra sleep,
like whatever it is, everyone's got to upgrade.
And then we'll go because all we're doing is chasing the, you know,
trying to maximize who we can be as a team.
So in terms of a grade, I don't know, I like the way we respond.
I like the way we competed.
I think that was a step in the right direction.
Last question I got for you, Ryan, is that we talked in the preseason, you know,
you're as good offense coach I've been around.
I had the hardest time handing the keys to an offense that, you know,
It was always going to be our offense.
Yet you hire a former head coach in NFL, Arthur Smith, the guy that's obviously very good at what he does.
Were you able to just say, okay, go do what you want to do, or did you try to keep the terminology?
How did you mesh a very successful with the Ohio State offense with a new guy coming in?
Yeah.
I think, like, that was sort of a pipe dream to think that I could just, you know, go play tennis, like you would say, for a couple hours or other games.
team planning. It's not going to happen. Arthur is a quick study, but transitioning from the NFL
to college, as you know, coach, is very different. It's a different game. And, you know, he's brought
some different perspectives and different things to table, which has been really good. And I think
every week he's getting more and more comfortable with how we've done things, how he's done things.
And so, you know, he's called the game before, which is great. He's got a really good feel for calling the
game, but we're still very much involved with merging what we're doing together and then
fitting the guys that we have in what we have this year. But yeah, not out of it yet, Coach.
Maybe one day I'll be able to, but not right now.
Hey, Coach, before we let you go, I just want to take you back to a moment last week when the
whole team and everybody waves to the Children's Hospital at Iowa. And I know you had written a letter
to all the patients inside that hospital. What triggered the concept for you to write that letter?
and have it sent off, and then take me through that moment of the pivot in the wave.
Yeah, I was just driving home on a Wednesday night, and I called Quinn Temple.
And, you know, I was just thinking about, you know, sort of that wave and, you know, thought about
the patience and then thought about the parents as a parent, like having to go through that.
And it's just, it's the least we can do.
And not only, you know, is it an opportunity for us to show support, but also for our players
understand, like, man, like, you better be grateful for what you have because this thing can go away just like this.
And it gives you great perspective. And so, you know, I think it's something that we try to do.
We try to send our guys over to the hospital whenever we can, you know, to kind of help lift the folks spirits over there.
But also, again, to give them perspective just to show how grateful, you know, we all need to be.
And so, yeah, when you look up there between the first and second quarter and see some of these kids waving at you, I mean, to say it doesn't move you is,
not accurate. I mean, it, it, like, it moves you. And then you get to get right back into playing
football, which is sort of a strange thing. But like I said, in the president, it almost motivates
you more to go out there and just, like, do a great job because you just never know. I mean,
it's just life goes fast. And I think it's an unbelievable tradition. And what, what they do for
those families and those kids is tremendous. Do you talk to Coach Ferrence about that before or after?
No. No, and again, like, I didn't, I just thought it was a small gesture. Just, just, you know,
So I didn't think much of it.
But it was cool to see the response.
And of all the people from Iowa, just the messages like, hey, man, we appreciate you.
You know, showing the support and being a part of, you know, support these families.
That's nice touch.
Perfect place to end it.
Coach Day, we really appreciate your time.
Congratulations on the success.
So far, I know there's so much more to go.
And we will see you in two weeks in Bloomington.
Coming up next, Mark's got his deuce, deuce dog of the week.
We take a look at the biggest games of week six on the triple option presented by Wendy's.
Thanks again, Coach Day.
Right.
Welcome back to the triple option, presented by Wendy's.
Let's take a look now at week six, but first, you know what it is.
Coach, it's your favorite time in the show.
It's your week five dog of the week.
Put your mic back on, coach.
Put your mic back on.
Put your headphones back on, coach.
Because you know you got to hear this dog.
You know you got to hear about these dogs.
And when I look at dogs across the nation, you know, I'm looking everywhere.
Who balling? Who shot calling?
And what's the most important thing, coach?
Who helping their team win?
I look at Jeremiah Smith, another dominant performance.
11 catches, 206 yards, two TDs on the road.
I look at Turbo Richard, Indiana, 13 carries, 24 yards, and a touchdown.
15.7 yards per carry.
Blasted Rutgers.
I look at the boy, K-12.
You know who that is?
Kela Russell, quarterback Alabama.
301 total yards, four TDs in a row victory in Starkville.
But when I look at one and I only got one,
I got to go with your boy, Jamal Roberts, Missouri, running back.
That's my doose, douche, dog of the week, coach, 24 carries, 211 yards,
three tuddies against the number 18 in the country.
And what I love most coach, it wasn't just open holes.
It wasn't just big lanes running through.
No, he was breaking tackles.
He was imposing his will because guess what?
He had 149 yards after contact.
So when you talk about a dog, going into a hostile environment,
beating the number eight team in the nation,
imposing his will on the gators,
that's what you call a dog.
And that's the dog of the weak, Jamal Roberts, Missouri.
Yes, sir.
Again, Missouri up 11 spots to number 14 in this week's AP poll, and that was Bring the Beef.
Your team's beef is never frozen, and neither is ours.
Wendy's Bring the Beef.
All right, time now to pick our week's six days.
How y'all like that segment?
How y'all like that segment, huh?
That's the segment of the show.
That's all right, all right, right.
It's no puppy dog.
No, no, no, coach.
She don't want no puppy, coach.
She won't a, hello.
Ha ha ha ha ha.
Just two ranked matchups this week.
By the way, next week on the table, seven ranked matchups.
The big one this week, though, no-brainer.
No-brainer.
It is Bama.
It is Georgia.
Bama clearly seems to be back.
They're putting up offense, almost 48 a game,
but they've got Georgia a number two team in the nation
that somehow is flying under the radar.
But go ahead, Mark.
Go ahead.
We ain't playing with them, Coach.
They tried to embarrass us, and they did in the SEC championship game.
And what I tell you, Coach, sometimes this shit is about pride, coach.
And this is about pride.
We got boys coming to the town.
They're coming to T-Town.
They come into our crib.
And we got to stand on business, and this is about pride.
And before I want to say anything about this game,
what they do to us in the SEC championship game a year ago?
Mine is three rushing yards.
So when you talk about dogs,
We talk about who are the dudes in your team.
It got to be your O-line.
They got to step up.
They got to set the tone.
If we can't run the ball, we can't protect the quarterback, we'll have a chance.
So I challenge our O-line first.
I challenge the line of scrimmage first.
Georgia got great offensive line coming back.
They got a veteran O-line coming back.
They got two of their backs.
I challenge our D-line, hit them in the mouth, set the tone.
And I challenge Belma as a whole to come out and start fast.
We come out, we start fast, we control the line of scrimmage.
We have a great defense.
We have a quarterback who can push the ball down the field vertically and horizontally.
We have great runners.
So let's all the T-Town we need y'all.
Loud, proud, and this is about pride.
When you come to Tuss-Lose, you come to Brian Denny, you can't do this to us because we bout that.
And you want to see us?
Come see us.
We're writing T-Town.
We bout that, baby.
Let's go.
So I got Belma in this matchup.
You know I do.
Keelan Russell, Ryan Coleman Williams.
Lottie Brooks, RICO Scott, Zabian Brown, all the dogs, they're going to hold it down.
Roll damn tide.
I know y'all don't want to hear this, but you're going to have to hear it because this is my time.
Bamma, let's go.
How much do they win by?
Three points.
Walk off field goal.
A typical urban.
How many times does Urban made a prediction?
He's like, walk off.
It's going to be a walkoff.
Three points.
I've heard like 12 walkoff field goals from Coach Meyer already this season.
And three points.
All right.
I had a whole, I had a whole dissertation, how I was going to do this.
And then when you mentioned it, I just felt the chills.
And I just got, I just felt the energy and the passion.
And I just, I just had to let it go how I let it go.
Sorry.
No worries.
No, you can save that other angle for Big Noon kickoff on Saturday.
All right.
Coach, the other ranked matchup this week from the Big Ten.
13th ranked Oregon up two spots this week, despite not playing taking on number
21 UCLA. Coach Chesney is doing a hell of a job in Westwood, but this is a big test and a huge
trip to U-Chene. Coach of the year candidate because they were awful. UCLA there for a few years,
and he's resurrecting him. And Chesney is the Signetti-type protege. He kind of worked his way up
through the ranks and won a bunch of games. And now he was at UCLA. I don't know him, but I've had
people that do know them and say it's obviously a hell of a coach, but they beat Cal, San Diego,
State, Purdue, Maryland, they're nothing like what they're getting ready to face.
However, Oregon, three weeks ago, I watched the Oklahoma State game and that was as bad as I've
ever seen at Oregon team play. We had coach landing on, and obviously we got great respect for them.
They got a little juice after their win at USC. A win that Dylan Rayella came off the bench and
won and played not good, played great. Against the team, the
just, you know, USC's, they just had a big win against Washington.
So that's a great win.
They have a bye week.
I think we still have yet to see the best version of Oregon, a team that I know
Mark Engram picked the one at all, and I certainly agreed that they'd be close.
I don't care about Oregon anymore.
Dad Lanham said he don't want me, so I don't care about them no more.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, hold on.
So I don't care about you, Dan Lanning.
We had Coach Dan Lanning live with us on big new kickoff on Saturday.
And you know what?
Coach Lanning wants no part of your love, Mark Ingram, play at the tape.
Well, guess what?
He could get this hate because I don't fool with y'all no more.
Explain to me why I should stay on this Ducks bandwagon with Coach Lannning and the Ducks.
Hey, you know what?
I'll be really honest.
We don't want you.
No offense to you.
Hey, Mark, I love you.
So don't hear me wrong.
I love you, but I love when no one else believes in us.
So I don't, we don't need anybody else to hop on the bandwagon.
The only people that matter are the people in the locker room.
It's about what we do on the field.
He wants, you know what, he wants none of that rat poison.
That's all, that's all I could think of when that interview was going on.
It was just, just don't let my guys eat the rat poison.
Let them, let them find something, let them have something that they can go, us against them.
Well, two new coordinators, they found that at USC.
They're starting to come of age a little bit.
Two new coordinators, remember, offense, that rarely happens.
Two new coordinators, and now they're into it.
And I think you're going to see an inferno in Eugene, Oregon, and the old, that's going to
see the old Oregon show up and get a win.
I don't care about them no more.
I think that
hit that Dante Moore took, and we asked Dan Lannning
about Dante's status, and he was very
purposefully vague about it, and I got it.
But I felt like that moment inside the Coliseum,
that program turned, rallied,
refound themselves, recalibrated,
and I don't want to play Oregon right now.
I would like to stay clear.
I don't care who's at QB.
we want Dante Moore to be back.
Ryola, great job.
Like, classic Oregon the last couple years, right?
Like, we've got a established dude at quarterback
that's just waiting in the wings for his chance.
Not trying to steal it from anybody, right?
Not trying to clip you.
I'm just waiting.
Classic Oregon, lay egg in the playoffs.
Play that, Coach Lannon.
There you.
You just keep giving him some more info.
I'm going to keep, I'm going to be the damn head.
I'm going to be the poster child over there.
I'm hating on y'all for the rest of the season.
We're going to have to keep that tradition going.
That's a good, you got in my mind thinking about something, Mark.
All right.
Finally, guys, we're going to end with the Red River rivalry.
Fourth straight week that Texas is at number one after they took care of the Buckeyes in week two.
They take on an Oklahoma team.
Mark, do you know what Oklahoma's record is right now?
What is it, Coach?
I only go by Coach Myers' records.
No, no, no.
Where's your chain?
It's your chain.
Two, two.
Two and two.
Two-and-two.
Doce-duce.
They are two and two.
they really kind of limped into that by week.
And guess what they've got?
They got a QB issue.
They got a big time quarterback issue.
You go back last year at this time heading into Red River.
John Mateer, we were talking about him at the top of the Heisman conversation.
And then this game happened.
They lose 23 to 6, 50% completion rate, three interceptions.
Go back to his last game.
That was against Georgia.
Two fumbles and an interception.
And one of his teammates this week was say, man, he just has to get his swagger back.
And then, you know what doesn't help?
His coach admitting that the backups got, quote, a lot of reps the last couple days.
And understandably, the offense averaging 12 points a game over their last three contests.
Oklahoma offense averaging 12 a game over their last three.
What?
And it's Texas coming in off of a buy as well.
I felt like Texas kind of needed to get their house in order.
I think the buy came at a really good time for Sark.
And he admitted it whether it was a blunt assessment or a toned down assessment.
I think deep inside he's like, I got to get my guys focused.
Like I was thinking about this coach.
Because you said that last week on the show.
They had a couple instances.
And I want the kids to celebrate touchdowns and sacks and do these things.
But they had a couple, two instances that were, I guess, PG-13, right?
or a little more on the scandalous side.
And I think Texas as a whole, the community, the football community whole looked at like,
hey, and it got me thinking, Coach, what did you tell your guys when they scored a touchdown?
What are they supposed to do?
Yeah, I used to, we used to joke around about it, but there's no joke.
I mean, you're going to flip the ball the official and go hug the most important people
on the team in the lineman.
You do something else.
I would joke around in Zeke, what everybody, they laugh at and say, listen, if you're going to go do something wild,
I shit take your helmet off your pad
jumping the crowd, run around the stadium
if you have to, because that's your last score for a while.
I just, I don't, I disagree with you.
You like to see all that. I don't.
I like to see hug teammates.
No, no, I like to see, I like to see.
Yes, I want to see them.
You said you like to see guys celebrate it.
I'll be honest, I can't stand it.
Well, I guess my point is to celebrate with their team.
To like enjoy it.
Like, you know, like you earned something,
but do it in a smart, respectful way.
And I think that was, those are just two visuals of Texas from their last outing.
See, the AD came out and said it's not going to happen again.
Exactly.
And that's my point.
He said it won't happen again.
It got that far.
It got that for.
Get your house in order.
I feel like this by-week, Texas got their house back in order.
And I expect them to come out and play like a number one team.
I will say this.
If you're John McKeir and you want to resurrect your career, there is no better stage to do it than inside the Cotton Bowl.
against your rival and bounce back and take your Oklahoma swagger back.
But I think Texas is a different team in week one,
and they're going to take this one by double digits.
That does it for the triple option.
