Starting point is 00:00:01 Oh, Jasmine Crockett, your days are numbered. We are all over this story as Texas proceeds with its redistricting in the here. And now, welcome to the program, everyone. I am Trish Regan. It is great. And we got a lot going on. We got the D.C. crackdown going on. We got Jazzy out of office, it looks like, in this new congressional redistricting, they're out of Texas.
Starting point is 00:00:25 And, of course, we've got some trouble for Rachel Maddow. Yeah, Rachel Maddow is. rumored to be next out with the view expecting some kind of cancellations. So we're going to get into all of this, guys. It's a big show ahead, but we begin on Jasmine Crockett. So Jasmine Crockett, you know, Jazzy, from Texas, the girl from the hood, who's not really from the hood, you see, because she's from St. Louis, Missouri, and went to private schools and grew up in a very stable household. The dad was a teacher and a preacher. The mom was a postal service worker, so she got great retirement benefits, you name it, government employee.
Starting point is 00:01:03 Anyway, Jasmine is now looking like she's going to be redistricted right out of her region. And I'll just tell you guys, you know what? They've done this before. They've done this throughout the country. You go around, you take your pick of all these states where you have, say, 38% or 48% or 49% Republican, and yet the whole state is somehow blue. Like, how does that make any sense? And so now Republicans are like, okay, we've got the ball, we're going to run with it, we're going to do what you guys did to us all those years.
Starting point is 00:01:33 And as they run with it, you've got Jasmine freaking out. This is a total meltdown on her part. But you know what? Jazzy is going to be out. So we have to get into that. Hot Wheels, remember Governor Hot Wheels? That kind of crass name that she called him? Well, he's back for some bite.
Starting point is 00:01:52 Governor Hot Wheels Abbott, Greg Abbott is coming back and he's saying, no, no, no, you're not going to. to be here as one of us because we're going to redistrict you right out of the region. This is the new map that they are proposing right here right now. So we want to get into all of this today. We also want to talk a little bit about one Rachel Maddow because I'm not kidding. We've talked before about how the view is about to be canceled. Well, the next one up, what I'm hearing anyway, the intel is it's going to be one Rachel Maddo because Rachel Maddo's ratings just aren't there.
Starting point is 00:02:26 So she's expected to be out at MSNBC. And this is, you know, this is part of the course, right? This is the media industry. And I'm sure she'll be fine. She'll do her little podcast somewhere. Hey, by the way, it's not that bad. As long as you have a following, look at what we're doing. I mean, we're nearly up to a million subs.
Starting point is 00:02:43 I got to tell you, I'll take that trade any day of the week. I don't know if she can pull it off, but you know what? She has some kind of following, some kind of niche. I just don't think it's going to fly in mainstream media anymore. so she's expected to be on the way out just as the view gets its cancellation notice from none other than Rosie O'Donnell. She seems to be putting them on notice. The other big story that we're all over today, again, is this one because the media, much of the media, is trying to present Washington, D.C. as some kind of, you know, lovely panacea where, you know, you can raise a family and this, that, and the other.
Starting point is 00:03:24 oh, you know, it's cleaned up since 2019. I'm sorry, it's not cleaned up. You know what's cleaned up? And I'm not supposed to say this, but I'll tell you what's cleaned up. The way they register crimes. And so there's been an effort, a push to say, okay, we're not going to have so many crimes in this area. And so consequently, the numbers look better. But everybody knows, including an ABC reporter who went rogue and even, even a CNN reporter who went rogue and said as much. So I want to get into all of those stories with you guys again today. It is a big day.
Starting point is 00:03:58 Jasmine Crockett, the representative from Dallas, Texas, who is not as she seems, and she tells us she's the girl from the hood, but she grew up with a kind of affluent middle class, upper middle class background, going to fancy schools and all that. Jasmine Crockett is seeing her way right out of D.C., and you know what, this is actually healthy for the Democrat Party. I'll tell you that, because they don't need the Jasmine Crockets of the world. They don't really like her, by the way.
Starting point is 00:04:23 They use her because she's good for fundraising, apparently. But they don't really like her because they know that this kind of image and this kind of language really isn't appropriate for the Democrat Party. Again, I want to get to this map. This is what's going on. Okay, so they're taking the opportunity. They've got the ball. They're going to run with it.
Starting point is 00:04:41 They're in Texas, the Republicans, and they're going to redistrict just the way California's redistrict, just the way Illinois has redistrict, just the way Massachusetts has redistricted. You know, I'm not saying two wrongs make a right, but here we go. Right now, in the here and now, you've got a situation where, hey, they've had their opportunity, right? And they've run it and they've redistricted everything. They've gerrymandered their way in such that, you know, it's really hard to have fair and equal representation as a Republican in Washington, D.C. So now Republicans in Texas are like, we want these five seats. You've got California totally losing it.
Starting point is 00:05:17 You've got Ken Paxton saying, hey, I'm going to back up the governor of. of Texas, Greg Abbott, you know, Hot Wheels, Hot Wheels, Jasmine called him Hot Wheels. Well, he said, I'm going to fire you all. And Ken Paxton, as we speak, is seeking the judicial authority to be able to do it because, you know, you don't show up for work. You're not going to get, you're not going to get your seat. So he could actually conceivably nominate, Greg Abbott could, the governor of Texas, nominate a whole bunch of people. You know, again, I just say she's not great for the party. In some ways, Abbott is doing the day. Democrat Party a total favor because do you really want this? You know, this woman who's known for
Starting point is 00:05:55 her bleach bit nonsense? Ms. Green for four minutes and 21 seconds. Mr. Chair, point of order. It's me. Ms. Crockett. I'm just curious, just to better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody's bleached blind, bad-built, butch body that would not be engaging in personalities, correct? A what now? Chairman, I make a motion to strike those words. I don't think that's a part of me. I'm trying to find clarification on what quality. Chairman, motion to strike those words.
Starting point is 00:06:31 We're not going to do this. Look, you guys earlier literally just voted to do it. I did it first. So you don't want to vote in to do it. Order, order. I'm trying to get clarification. Look at calm down. Calm down.
Starting point is 00:06:45 No, no, no, no, because this is what you're all doing. I'm trying to get your credit. Hey, Ms. Crockett, you're not recognized. Ms. Crocker. And you don't want me to be, calm down. No, don't tell me to calm down. Calm down.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Because y'all talk noise and then you can take you. You're out of control. If I come and talk shit about her, You'll have a problem. Mr. Chairman. Order. All right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Order. Chair now recognizing. Yeah, that was a really bad moment. There was a really, really bad moment for U.S. politics in general. And I didn't even realize there was an obscenity in there, but I should have because you know what? This woman, Jasmine Crackett, can't keep her mouth clean. And it's an act.
Starting point is 00:07:22 All right, just keep in mind. We're going to get into that because I want to kind of school you a little bit on her background and where she came from and how this whole appearance of being somehow from the wrong side of the tracks is not entirely, it's not at all true. Okay, it's not at all true. So she's the girl from the hood who, by the way, her own staff now cannot stand. And they're recognizing that she is nothing but a social media. You know what.
Starting point is 00:07:48 She wants to be an influencer. Okay. So she wants to have a podcast. I guess. I don't think she could. I don't think she could actually string an argument together and have A, B, C, and D in some kind of conclusion or thesis. But who knows? The woman did go to a fancy law school that cost somewhere around 60K a year. She did go to fancy private schools to the tune of $35,000 a year. So she's certainly been well educated. Not that she's doing anything with the education. Let's be honest, given what she's proceeded to do. do in Congress. So she's kind of an embarrassment. She's a disgrace, if you would, for the Democrat Party, but they're stuck with her until now. So I think they owe Ken Paxton and Greg Abbott a gigantic thank you note and a whole bunch of flowers because Texas may just actually take this woman off their hands. So there's a lot of procedural stuff that has to happen. And so we don't want to
Starting point is 00:08:44 count our chickens, right, before they hatch, so to speak. But the new map is being designed to really combat some of the things at California, Massachusetts, Illinois, even New Hampshire, have done in the last however many years. When you look at the numbers, it's kind of stunning. I was looking at this. Somebody put this out on social media just within the last 24 hours, and these numbers are really quite something to see. So let me see if I can bring them to you. So if this is correct, then basically you're looking at a situation where I guess the Democrats have frankly already gerrymandered, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, I mean, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Vermont, Hawaii, Delaware. I mean, they don't have any seats in these places.
Starting point is 00:09:27 How can you have a state that is 42% Republican and not have any seats? I mean, it's remarkable to me, New Hampshire, which is basically half Republican, and not have any seats at all? Well, they only have a few congressional reps there, but, you know, Rhode Island, another great example of this. So what is going on? The gerrymandering has already happened, right? And so now suddenly you've got Republicans that are willing to fight back because they need to hold on to Congress, right? It's a big deal. They want to hold on to Congress because if they don't, then I'll tell you, it's going to be really ugly. And you know how I know it's going to be really ugly? I know it's going to be ugly. Because these guys want to impeach Donald Trump again. I mean, they tried three times before, right? So why not?
Starting point is 00:10:11 you know, if they get the house, that's where we're right back at. And so that would not be a good thing. I think Donald Trump now is suddenly realizing he can't be on defense. He knew that going in. His team knew that going in. He can't be on defense. He's going to be on offense. So if he's out there on offense, this is the way you do it.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Meanwhile, California's freaking out. Oh, my goodness. Wait, to you see what the governor of California is saying. But before we get to that, remember Jasmine. Okay, Jasmine, who I predict is going to be over. I just don't think she's got the stamina, frankly. I think she'd rather be a social media influencer. I'm not the only one.
Starting point is 00:10:45 The staff apparently thinks that. I think she'd rather be an MSNBC anchor. I don't think she could actually hold a podcast because there's some heavy lifting over here. Okay, guys, you know, this is all me, right? So the editorial responsibility of doing something like I'm doing right now would be too, well, difficult, shall we say, for somebody in too much work, I suspect,
Starting point is 00:11:04 for the likes of Jasmine Crocky, who wants to ride around in a SUV driven by her staff all the time. So she needs lots of staff and apparently doesn't treat the staff very, very well. Jasmine Crockett, after that bleach bit thing with Marjorie Taylor Green, wound up on our favorite show, kidding, the view, where she was asked about it. Because you know what she did? She went out and trademarked that term. And then started selling T-shirts.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Yeah. Selling T-shirts, coined a new phrase about it the whole bit, right? Oh, well, simultaneously criticizing Trump for some of the, commercial efforts he has undertaken. So the hypocrisy is just pretty stunning, but, you know, this is what you should expect from a woman like this. Again, I'm predicting here that her career is over and that the Republicans are doing this, but really Democrats should be sending a thank you note because you don't need any more of this. Take a look. You have fundraised off of merchandise around this and you've gotten some pushback from people
Starting point is 00:12:04 saying, you know, are we just lowering the institution if we're both kind of playing into this? How do you respond to that? Kind of like the audience just did. Listen, here's the deal. There are people such as Trump that want to peddle Bibles, pedal gym shoes, pedal whatever it is,
Starting point is 00:12:23 and anything that he can sell, he's going to sell it, and he's not doing it for his party. He's doing it for self. So what she meant for evil, in my opinion, God meant for good. And so that's what I was going to do in that moment.
Starting point is 00:12:38 When I set out to do the trademark, that is not personally done, it's done under the campaign. It was because there was a demand. I'm a business major who also is a lawyer. So the two things came together, right? So this is about making sure that we can raise the monies. It's so that I can help save our democracy. My money goes to frontliners, people that are in fights to make sure that we can take the house. We've seen that the house has been run like a circus.
Starting point is 00:13:05 We need Hakeem Jeffries as the Speaker of the House. Right. And so if they lose the house, I'm just go ahead and blame it on Marjorie. Okay, yeah. So back to Marjorie, right? Because there's this like thing between the two of them. Well, Marjorie did criticize her fake eyelashes, which was understandably warranted. And she fired back with, you know, the bleach bit nonsense. Anyway, bleach butch. You know, we just, have to be able to follow her lingo, but apparently she spends all her time, like, thinking up these things in order to kind of create a social media storm, because that's what she's interested in doing. All while now, we get this crisis of sorts going on in that it's
Starting point is 00:13:53 really, really important. I kid you not, that the Republicans secure the House in 26, and one of the ways to do this is to redistrict in Texas, much like they did in California. Again, you know, it's sort of payback, and this team in the White House now is on offense. not on defense. So this is a different kind of thing. Well, Governor Newsom is flipping out about this. This is Texas versus California, you guys. And he put this one out. It's kind of funny. I was reading some of his tweets and I'm like, excuse me, is like, is this some kind of, I don't know, flattery for President Trump? They do say imitation is a form of flattery, right? Take a look at this tweet, the social post on X. He wrote in all capital letters.
Starting point is 00:14:39 final warning, Donald Trump, maybe the most important warning in history. Stop cheating, or California will redraw the maps. And guess who will announce it next week? Gavin Newsom, many say the most loved and handsome governor and a very powerful team. Don't make us do it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Starting point is 00:14:57 Okay, so is it playful? Is it funny or is it just annoying? I mean, it's amazing how he's just trying to challenge. He took what he wanted to say and he put it into chat. He put it into chat. And he said, hey, sound like Donald Trump. and they spit this thing back out. So I think that Newsom is now looking at this,
Starting point is 00:15:13 and he's kind of freaking out. He's trying to say, okay, we can go back and we can do something. But I get to tell you guys, I don't think they can do a lot. I don't think they can do a lot. I want to show you what Greg Abbott is saying on this. He went on to CNN recently.
Starting point is 00:15:26 He spoke with that, you know, if you want to call him an anchor, I don't know what you want to call him the Tapper guy, you know, that came out with the book because he's always looking to cash in and make a good payday. the one that's friends with Clooney and tried to take down Lara Trump
Starting point is 00:15:41 and say, oh, you know, Joe Biden just had a stutter and how dare she make fun of kids and people with stutters? Yeah, that guy. Anyway, Abbott went on with him, and he basically sent a really big warning to the state of California. And this is important because if you listen to Abbott, there's no way in H.E.L.
Starting point is 00:16:00 that Gavin Newsom and California are going to win this battle. Abbott has it locked up. Watch. as a bigger picture item, which is what's unusual about this is that you're attempting to do it in 2025 as opposed to waiting until the end of the decade as normally is when the redistricting takes place. You've explained the Supreme Court decision that led you to do this. But what's going on, obviously, it's not happening in Texas, it's not happening in a vacuum. We have Democrats in California and New York and other states saying, well, if Governor Abbott does this in Texas, we're going to add five Democrats. seats, are you not worried at all about a redistricting, gerrymandering arms race going on?
Starting point is 00:16:44 And theoretically, is it not just better for voters to be picking their politicians instead of politicians to be picking their voters through gerrymandering? Well, to be clear, listen, all those big blue states, they've already gerrymandered. Look at the map of Illinois. Look at the map of California, New York, and Massachusetts, and so many other blue states. they gerrymandered a long time ago. They got nothing left with regard to what they can do. And know this.
Starting point is 00:17:14 If California tries to gerrymander five more districts, listen, Texas has the ability to eliminate 10 Democrats in our state. We can play that game more than they can because they have fewer Republican districts in their states. Texas Governor Greg Adams. You see that? And he's right. They can play that game a whole lot longer and harder.
Starting point is 00:17:37 than California possibly could because they have already in California gone about as far as they can go. So this is a big deal, okay? Like we're talking about changing the map here. And I get it. You know, people are frustrated. How dare you? How dare you? But, you know, I'll tell you how dare you.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Just leave the state of Texas. 50 of them. 50 Democrats just took off and said, you know what? We're not going to do this. And they're not actually sitting down to try and negotiate or get anything done. And so, listen, Abbott and Paxton are totally right to say, hey, guys, you're going to be fired. Jasmine Crockett, you're going to be fired. You don't show up for work.
Starting point is 00:18:13 That's not going to fly. You are going to be done. Meanwhile, as we discussed, this woman is not who you think she is. She is a fake. Jasmine Crockett is not the girl from the hood. Jasmine Crockett is the girl from the upper middle class background who went to fancy schools, private schools, grew up in a stable household. Guess what? We've talked about this before, the importance of having two parents in the household.
Starting point is 00:18:37 She had two working parents. One parent worked for the government, the postal service, her mom. The dad was a teacher. So education was really important and a preacher, right? So education, family values, all those things that we talk about that she doesn't care about it anymore. Suddenly, because I don't know. It's not popular. She wants to be on the other side of things, the girl from the hood.
Starting point is 00:18:56 These are the things that actually go into having productive members of society. I'm sorry. I mean, I know that every marriage is not a panacea. And, you know, I'm not telling people that need to get divorced that, you know, there's no other way, but you certainly try, right, when you have kids. Well, she grew up the product of a stable household background, which is something that a lot of the kids in D.C., for example, that they're talking about right now that Janine Piro is putting on notice, along with the president of the United States, and kids in the Dallas district that she represents didn't have.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Has she done anything for the people of Dallas? The answer? No. and they would tell you this. In fact, Benny Johnson was just down there and saw that. You know, they're like another YouTuber. They said that there is nothing that she is doing to help them. So I would just ask you, why the heck are you electing her?
Starting point is 00:19:47 Well, maybe you won't have to elect her anymore because, because of what? The new redistricting. Anyway, this woman is phony as you know what. She's also, according to staff members, the boss from hell. So take a look at this. This came out in the new. New York Post. It's some kind of mutiny on the Democrat Party, right? They're really trying to take her down. You have three of the staffers coming out and telling the New York Post. She's the boss
Starting point is 00:20:09 from hell that she cares more about doing her social media thing and being an influencer and maybe getting a gig in cable one day than she does about actually legislating, actually going to the office there on Capitol Hill. She doesn't do that. Instead, she stays in her quote luxury, D.C. apartment, while they complete all of her tasks and they drive her. She even has them doing her laundry. I mean, this is wild to me, wild, absolutely insane. Like, why would you ever, ever allow this? I thought this was really clever.
Starting point is 00:20:43 My former colleague over at Fox, Jesse Waters, was talking about this recently. He called her the princess passenger. Mm-hmm, because of the SUV thing. Take a listen to this one, guys. But when the cameras are off, Crockett's real claws come out. Staffers say, she bites harder than she. she barks. And the whole fighting for you act, one big cheap fake. She even works from home.
Starting point is 00:21:05 Quote, she's laying around her apartment. We'll come into the office. And it's really just indifferent to staff and will scream at them. When Crockett actually shows up for work, she wants to be treated like Governor Hot Wheels. She hates using her legs. She demands her staff play chauffeur and drive from the Capitol to her office. It's only a few blocks. And the car can't be some cheap Subaru. It's got to be an escalate. After that, the aid must, and this is important, stand outside the car and open the door like it's the Met Gala. Another aide says Crocett's obsessed with being the black Sidney Sweeney. Quote, she's focused almost exclusively on being an influencer, not a member of Congress. Crocett's Aldiva, no wow. And Crockett might talk a big DEI game,
Starting point is 00:21:52 but if you're black, you're the first to get the pink slip. Quote, I don't want to hear Jasmine Crockett talk about helping black women when she just fired one for no reason. Wow. He's funny. You've got to admit, I like the Subaru comment and a few others in there. But, you know, she does put on a bit of an act in terms of the DEI stuff. But the staff is actually saying that she doesn't treat people that are also black fairly. And they've got like just complain after complaint after complaint. I mean, this is something when your own staff is coming out against you, must be a pretty horrible kind of boss, shall we say. Now, she's treating this like a badge of honor for goodness sake. She just went on to CBS and she said, hey, you know what? Like, if they're not
Starting point is 00:22:38 talking about you, then what's it worth? It must mean that I have reached some kind of status, some kind of power level that they are out there complaining about me. And she's, well, she's just kind of not likable. Can I say that? I mean, she just comes across as not a likable person. So it leaves you, you know, when you hear this, saying, yeah, I have no doubt. I mean, she just doesn't seem like there's much in the way of any kind of empathy in there. She doesn't seem like she's a kind person at all. So the boss from hell kind of label, I think that that's going to stick for a while. Now, she'll say this is just, you know, you know, poor me, woe me. I'm a black woman. I'm young, this, that, and the other. And therefore, they're going to attack me in this way. But I don't
Starting point is 00:23:25 think so. I really don't think so. I don't think this has anything to do with being black. I don't think it has anything to do with being young. And I don't think it has anything to do with being a woman. You know what? I haven't actually heard this about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I haven't heard the bad boss stuff, which is kind of interesting because you hear a lot about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but you don't hear the bad boss thing. And I think there's a reason for that, right? Maybe, you know, There's a lot to fault her, including somehow paying, you know, sketchy payments to salsa dance teachers instead of actually using her constituents' money in the right ways. I mean, that's a whole other thing. And not to mention the other situation with the taxed the rich dress that she somehow didn't realize she should ever pay for.
Starting point is 00:24:18 I mean, she may just be stupid, right? Jasmine Crockett is a little bit stupid as well. Donald Trump keeps insulting her IQ, and I suspect there's a bit of a reason for that. But again, I'm looking for this sound bite, because if I can show you this, I think it's worth seeing with her there on CBS where she spoke to the reporter saying,
Starting point is 00:24:39 oh, you know, well, this is just par for the course. You know, they're coming after me now because I have made it, et cetera, et cetera. And I think people even see that and say, again, there's no sort of humanity. Why didn't she show something? some humility. Maybe she's just not capable of it. While I look for that, I also want to show you. Here is Jasmine Crockett on CNN trying to say, you know what? This is all about race. Take a look at
Starting point is 00:25:04 this one, guys, because I know it's going to make your blood boil over watch. And so I want people to see him and understand who he is. This is a person that has a problem with people of color, period. I don't care how many black maga out there with a hats. I want to be clear when we look at who it is that he's kicking out of this country as people of color. When we look at who he always disrespects and says that they are low IQ, even though when you look at his cabinet, this has to be the most incompetent cabinet we have ever had in the history of this country. When we're talking about people that literally have the ability to drop bombs or order that bombs be dropped or make recommendations that bombs be dropped and they literally don't know how to get the signal chat
Starting point is 00:25:47 right. So we're talking about low IQ individuals, but so long as they say that this guy is their guy and usually if they work for a certain news network, that's the only qualification that's necessary. I've got news for the president. I am not going anywhere. No matter how many squiggly lines they draw in the state of Texas, I will be back and I will be on his behind and making sure the real accountability that the American people are demanding, whether they're Democrats, Republicans, or independents that it has had when the Democrats take control of this House
Starting point is 00:26:18 in the midterms. Congresswoman? Hmm. Do you really think the Democrats are going to take control of the House in the midterms? I can tell you it's important that they don't, but I can also tell you I really don't think it's going to happen because guess what?
Starting point is 00:26:32 Donald Trump is seeing all kinds of success. On the economic front, on the immigration front, you just look at the poll numbers and he's outperforming anyone, you look at the Democrats' poll numbers, for goodness sakes, I mean, you've never seen. I'll quote CNN on this one. They're in the basement, right? They are absolutely in the basement.
Starting point is 00:26:47 The Democrat brand at this point has become garbage. Absolutely garbage. And so, you know, where does this head? I think it heads towards Jasmine Crockett losing her gig. And it's going to be for good reason. Again, this is not a nice person we're talking about. You know, there's a story that came out of the Atlantic. this past week. And it kind of struck me because it was like this puff piece, right? But then all of a sudden,
Starting point is 00:27:16 if you read the first sentence in the thing, it says all the comforts of a Waldorf Astoria city view suite did not at that moment seem to cheer Jasmine Crockett. That's the opening line on this story. The 44-year-old Texas Democrat known for her viral comebacks was frowning as she walked into the hotel room in Atlanta last month. Okay, so she's got this Waldorf Astoria suite, a city, view sweet that she's staying in, but she's mad because, you know, she didn't get the chairmanship of the House thing that she wanted. She can get to the committee that she wanted. So she's freaking out. I would just say, you know, this idea that she's somehow a fighter is very misleading. She is a social media influencer who will take the opportunity at various
Starting point is 00:28:00 times to come out with some biting comments. But is there any substance behind it? I think the short answer and the long answer in this case is no. If you read through this piece, They kind of hint at that. They say that, look, you know, she's always on MSNBC, and so she's known to MSNBC watching households, of which, let's be honest, there are very, very few right now. And then the president also has elevated her in a certain way, calling her low IQ.
Starting point is 00:28:26 She has taken aim, as we've discussed, at Marjorie Taylor Green, with her bleach blonde. That's what it is, bad-built butch body. And then trademarked the phrase, which she now calls B-6, and then sold some t-shirts, of course. So the Democrat Party doesn't love her, but they're actually oddly willing to put up with her. Not oddly.
Starting point is 00:28:45 I mean, of course they would. Of course they would. Governor Hotwiel, she's the one that coined that one, right? A really kind of disrespectful term for somebody who is the governor of Texas. And so she's just one thing after another. I would just say that they've got a situation on their hands in that you're elevating people that you really shouldn't be elevating. Absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Thank you so much for the generosity, guys. You know, we have a few of these super chats. here and I didn't get a chance to thank you all yesterday, but, you know, just looking at Tom's wild and wonderful views. Thank you so much. Keep up the great work. I definitely will. You know that I'm always with you guys, no matter where I am, as long as I can be here, as long as I can get a signal. And right now, I'm relying on Elon Musk and Starlink from a boat. All right? So if the signal goes down, you know who to blame. Anyway, I always try and be here no matter what, because this new cycle is insane. It's so rapid and we need to stay on top of it. We really are on the front lines of history
Starting point is 00:29:41 in so many ways right now. So you get the Jasmine Crockett thing going down. All the Democrats freaking out. Listen, I would just say that this is the right time to actually be looking opportunistically for these things that you can do. I mean, they have taken every chance they can, right, to do exactly the same. And so why wouldn't you do this? Seriously, why wouldn't you do it? I think it makes all the sense in the world. Let me share with you a soundbite from Tommy Lerrin, who actually echoes this as well from Fox the other day. I think she kind of, she lays it out properly because this is an important time and we need to make use of what we have in this given moment. They do the same.
Starting point is 00:30:25 Don't kid yourself. First of all, the Democrat Party has been reduced to essentially a social media stunt at this point. That's the only way they can get any attention. It's not through legislation. It's not through ideas or policy. It's through stunts, whether it's getting arrested at a press conference or outside of an ICE facility or skipping work to go to Illinois. Also, the hypocrisy here. For Democrats now to clutch their pearls when Republicans play the same way that they've been playing is really rich.
Starting point is 00:30:54 Please spare me. Also incredibly hypocritical. Democrats had no problem for a four-year span of time importing millions and millions of people into blue sanctuary states and cities to pass. their numbers to pad the census. But now they want to cry wolf and they want to cry crocodile tears because Republicans want to draw new maps in Texas. Democrats would do it every single time. They don't like it that Republicans are playing the same game. We learn from you. We're going to be cutthroat like Democrats and we're going to win where we can. Yeah, I mean, what I see is, you know, again, I think it's the right time, the right moment to take advantage because you need to
Starting point is 00:31:33 you need to be able to fight back, right? Fight fire with fire, if you would. And so I think that Tommy did a pretty good job articulating that. Just again, back to Jasmine, because she is not who she says she is, no matter how many times she tells you that she's somehow the girl from the hood and that she, you know, wants to run the potty mouth and this, that, and the other, and coined these little social media phrases, I think it's just important to remember that she came from Missouri where she grew up in a stable house, told him went to fancy schmancy private schools, not public schools, okay? Private schools. So she had a lot of advantages.
Starting point is 00:32:11 We're talking schools that cost 25 to 30,000. I think I said 50,000 the other day because, you know, I live in New England where all the private schools are somewhere around 50. But she, you know, Missouri, it's somewhere around 30-something. And then she went to University of Maryland as an undergrad. And she was out of state tuition. So again, pretty expensive. And then on to Denton Law School, where, again, you're looking at 50, 60K a year.
Starting point is 00:32:40 So she's had a lot of advantages. But to act the way she does, it's all importantly. Remember that key word. And act. Turning to the craziness going on in D.C., and frankly, it's not crazy. It's high time that somebody did something about D.C. Well, Donald Trump means business. He's laying down the lawn.
Starting point is 00:33:01 You know what? He's got Jeanine Piro. by his side. You remember Judge Jeanette? Well, now she is the U.S. attorney in D.C. And she's good. Like, this woman is good. She's highly experienced.
Starting point is 00:33:14 I love seeing her in this because I'm used to seeing her, you know, in the television environment and worked with her at Fox. But, and she's obviously very good on TV. But this is her sweet spot. And she was always a prosecutor. She's got the background.
Starting point is 00:33:27 She became a judge. And she knows what she's doing. And right now, as they try and lay down the lot and they clean up the situation there in D.C., they've got Judge Janine on their side, and she let the media have it. Here, I want to show you from the press conference yesterday, Janine Piro, saying exactly, exactly what the issue is. Take a peek. We all want the same thing. We all want a safe city. We want a safe capital. We want to be able to bring our families here. We want to be able to come and enjoy the history that makes this place
Starting point is 00:34:02 great. And unfortunately, we are not in that position right now. And Mr. President, I want to thank you for taking the step that we need right now to make criminals understand that they are not going to get away with it anymore. And I'm not going to stand here and go over and over the cases. But what I can tell you is this. I see too much violent crime being committed by young punks. They don't care where they are. They can be in DuPont, but they know that we can't touch them. Why? Because the laws are weak.
Starting point is 00:34:38 I can't touch you if you're 14, 15, 16, 17 years old. I convict someone. I convict him. And you know what the judge gives him? Probation. Says you should go to college. We need to go after the DC Council and their absurd laws. We need to get rid of this concept of, you know, no cash bail.
Starting point is 00:34:59 We need to recognize that the people who make that the people who matter are the law-abiding citizens, and it starts today. But it's not going to end today, because the president is going to do everything we need to do to make sure that these emboldened criminals, understand, we see you, we're watching you, and we're going to change the law to catch you.
Starting point is 00:35:22 And my final note is this. These kids understand that the jurisdiction is through the state attorney general, Brian Schwab, because I can't arrest them, I can't prosecute them, they go to family court, and they get to do yoga and arts and crafts. Enough. It changes today. She's so good. Okay, she's just so good. I love seeing her in this position right now. But I'll tell you, the thugs that she's talking about, watch out, watch out, because they're out to change this. These homicide rates are out of control. We've talked.
Starting point is 00:36:00 about this for the last week, right? D.C. having a murder rate of 41 per 100,000, it's unacceptable. It's unacceptable. You look at Norobi, for goodness sakes, it's five. You wouldn't have thought that, right? You look at Lima. Hey, go to Lima. It's only seven per 100,000. Mexico City, only eight per 100,000. Think about that. This is our nation's capital. As she said, where you want to be able to take your family. She totally gets it. J.C.G. The word is saying, you know what? Janine Piro gets it. And she, she means business and you're right. Okay. You're right. So she's going to, within the confines of the law, work with the president to cry and clean this up. She mentions that she can't do a lot because, you know, Brian, in his position as the state AG there, or the district
Starting point is 00:36:50 DC, AG, it's a little bit different, you know, because it's not actually technically a state. But anyway, he's the AG and he's prosecuting juveniles, but they're sending them all to yoga camps because of this, you know, DEI thing where you're supposed to feel bad for people and reform and this, that, and the other. And she's like, no, I've had enough. And the president has certainly had enough. You heard what he said the other day about the slums. And I'll tell you guys, you know what? The people of D.C., they deserve something better. Watch this. And we're getting rid of the slums, too. We have slums here. We're getting rid of them. I know it's not politically correct. You'll say, oh, so terrible. No, we're getting rid of the slums where they live.
Starting point is 00:37:28 Yeah, he's not wrong. Let's see if we can get our camera back up for you. Let's see here. Can you guys still hear me? I'll ask you in real time. If you can still hear me. Can you still hear me? You can now see me, I think.
Starting point is 00:37:47 We'll see. Again, I told you I was blaming Elon if anything happened. But the DC thing is really remarkable what's going on. So they want to clean this up. And they have the legal power to do this. They've got Janine Piro out there taking it on. You saw Pete Hankseth by the president's side. I think they're actually going to be able to accomplish something.
Starting point is 00:38:07 I think this is a really, really big deal. It's important at this moment in time. Nobody likes it. The New York Times saying, oh, you know what? This crime rate, this really isn't as bad as you all think. Well, did you ever think for any reason at all that maybe there might have been an incentive to possibly report some numbers that were not entirely truthful? They're like, oh, you know, the murder rate.
Starting point is 00:38:27 It's down to where it was in 2019. they're like celebrating in at the New York Times and saying there's really no reason to be concerned but I'll tell you when you've got even CNN remember subscribe, share, like, all that good stuff when you've got even CNN out there saying no, no, no, no, here's the truth about DC even though those numbers are showing you one thing
Starting point is 00:38:45 the reality is something else entirely I want to share with you what the CNN host said to Democrat Jamie Raskin totally put him on his heels. It shows you what a brilliant political issue this really and truly is because the CNN host is And I don't think you can get more left than this lady that's about to come on.
Starting point is 00:39:02 I don't know her name, but I've seen her a few times. And she's really uber-duber left. So she gets out there and she's like, yeah, you know, you're all saying this. But look, we're in D.C. and we feel it. We feel the crime rates and the challenges of that. Take a peek. But people don't always feel the statistics, right? Do you, as someone who works in the District of Columbia, you drive through it all the time,
Starting point is 00:39:26 You know a lot of people who live here all the time. Do you feel like crime is down in D.C. compared to other more recent years? Well, definitely when you compare it to, you know, other periods in the history of Washington, D.C., when there was, you know, very serious spikes in crime and it, you know, felt really dangerous to go out. But look, I agree, you know, you can't feel safe enough, especially these days. The question is, who you trust to promote your security. and public safety, is it the mayor and the council and the people who actually report to people who live there? Or do you trust Donald Trump to do that? Because, you know, his attention span is like, you know, 32 seconds.
Starting point is 00:40:11 And then he's going to be off to talking about the tariffs or he's going to be off and talking about something in Los Angeles or whatever. I mean, you've got to trust the local officials to do this. And, you know, there's something that's very fraudulent about what's taking place. He also. something very fraudulent apparently that's taking place. I don't know. The guy actually wants to clean up D.C. And you guys have a problem with that? You get CNN hosts that are like, you know, you all tell us that things are better, but they really don't feel better in D.C.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Because we live here and we kind of know, right? And an ABC reporter said the exact same thing. And yet you look at the talking points. Someone sent me this. Every Democrat in the world is like, oh, no, things are great. You know, the crime numbers aren't what you think. Blah, blah, blah. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:40:53 Everybody who lives in D.C. feels the same thing. I'm going to share with you what Kiro Phillips said. Again, from ABC, she happens to be married to John Roberts, the Fox reporter, so maybe she's not as biased as the rest of them over there. But take a listen to her because she's just admitting reality, like completely going rogue, similar to the CNN lady. Take a peek. We've been talking so much about the numbers. And yeah, usually that's how you play devil's advocate as you talk about, oh, well, stats say crime is down. However, I can tell you firsthand here in downtown D.C. where we work right here around our bureau, just in the past six months, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:28 were two people shot. One person died, literally two blocks down here from the Bureau. It was within the last two years that I actually was jumped walking just two blocks down from here. And then just this morning, one of my coworkers said her car was stolen a block away from the bureau. So we can talk about the numbers going down, but crime is happening every single day because we're all experiencing it firsthand while working and living down here. Driving home, my staff who lives here in the hill reminded me, don't stop at a stoplight until I'm out of town. If I see a red light late at night, since there's very little traffic, slow up at the other block. So I never come to a full stop except in the middle of the block because of carjackings.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Stopping the light, people standing in a corner, walking up with a gun. Okay. So he, that's fine, right? back in 1992 saying things were bad. So things have always been bad. Like you can go back to 2019. I don't think that's going to help you. Maybe you've got some better statistics from 2019.
Starting point is 00:42:38 Maybe right now you get some better statistics because there's been this pressure, if you would, on law enforcement to not actually report what's really going on. But if you look at what the laborhead of the D.C. Police Union has said they're very concerned. They're very concerned that things are not being properly reported. And I realize everybody's, oh, no, you can't say that. You can't say that.
Starting point is 00:42:59 hey, you know what, don't take my word for it. Again, go back to what the CNN reporter who lives in D.C. is saying, go back to the ABC news reporter who lives in D.C. They clearly have their own biases there at that network, and yet they're coming out and admitting that. And I think it's a brilliant political issue. It's really brilliant because it leaves the Democrats once again on defense. In the first Trump administration, he was always on defense because of Russia, Russia, Russia.
Starting point is 00:43:23 And now he's totally turned the tables. And he's doing things like, okay, we're going to fix D.C. and the Democrats are like, no, no, you can't fix D.C. And he's like, oh, yeah, how much do you want to bet? We can fix D.C. And guess what else? The people want us to fix D.C. I mean, that's the amazing thing, right?
Starting point is 00:43:41 So he's on the side of the people on this one. And so think about the brilliance from a political standpoint, because what it's doing is it's exposing the Democrats for the resist movement that they're embracing to the point where they're not even willing, it seems, to do the right thing vis-a-vis trying to help. right, trying to help clean up a community that so badly, desperately needs it. There was a woman who was interviewed in Fox, on Fox, who came right out and said, you know what?
Starting point is 00:44:08 We need this. We need this because, you know, she said, for example, I'm older and I got to get to and from work. And right now it's really scary. Like, it is really scary. And it sucks to have to live in that kind of environment. I mean, what kind of freedom do you have, right? if your kids can't get to and from school without having to worry about the very basics.
Starting point is 00:44:31 And that's what's going on. It's the very, very, very basics. And so a lot of people have come out, and we've seen this on social media. They are thrilled that somebody's doing something finally. That's what I'm saying. It is a brilliant political issue, absolutely spectacular because we're basically seeing front and center what these folks are really about. In the meantime, in the meantime, even the mayor is like basically saying, yeah, we'll work with them, right? We have to work with them.
Starting point is 00:44:56 And she's smart, politically speaking, because if she comes out and says, I'm going to resist this, I don't want Donald Trump, I don't want his help, then what's going on? I mean, shouldn't you want all the help you can get if you're dealing with a crime rate like the one we saw? So everyone on MSNBC is like, but-pap, but-pah, and she's like, well, you know. So I like this because she's being a little bit of a realist. I mean, she's, we'll get to the, I see what you guys are saying in the chat about the woman who is in. charge of the police union. And we'll talk about that in just a moment. But first, here is the mayor, Muriel. One of the things that we have seen over and over from the president, from his team, you know, Stephen Miller saying it's like Baghdad and Ethiopia, they seem to hold their
Starting point is 00:45:41 harshest criticism sometimes for cities that are majority black and brown. Do you see that? And what do you think that means? I think that I have been dealing kind of with this issue for a number of years is kind of easy fodder on the campaign trail. But now we're talking about governing. And my job is to focus on making sure our city is running, is running well, and people enjoy a great quality of life. And I think we're doing a really good job. We do need the federal government's help, as I mentioned, because they have an outsized influence on our criminal justice system. We need more prosecutors. We need more judges.
Starting point is 00:46:29 There are other ways to help even. We want to rebuild our jail and there are ways that the feds can help with that. But also just doing their part, cutting the grass, fixing the fountains, making sure that federal law enforcement is doing all of the policing
Starting point is 00:46:47 that they can do. And I just have to say thank you to MPS, FBI, ATF, who've always worked cooperatively with us and we expect that they will again. Okay, that's like brilliant politics. So she's being smart there. But a lot of Democrats, you heard Jamie Raskin, they're falling into the trap. They're fallen into the trap and don't take my word for it. Go to a Democrat like Chris Matthews, who was on MSNBC saying exactly the same thing this morning, saying they're falling into this trap of trying to defend
Starting point is 00:47:16 an indefensible crime record. And so now they're making it, oh, it's all about race. Rev Sharpton saying that and oh mpr saying all that you know i'm sorry i'm sorry i'm sorry you know this is not this is not a time to be talking about race because who do you think if you're if you're black and you're living in a community and you're being terrorized by these you know teenagers that are running around and they describe them here in this mpr piece as criminals in this case often teenagers many of them black washington has struggled at times with violence caused by young men who sometimes ride motorcycles and four-wheelers. They're like trying to paint this picture of, okay, it's really not that big a deal. Well, let me tell you, if you live there, if you're one of the families that's been affected by this,
Starting point is 00:48:00 you better believe it's a big deal. And this is what Janine Piro was saying. For every single family that has suffered a loss, it is a big freaking deal. So Democrats are stupid, once again, politically speaking, I mean, that 28% is going to go down to 18% before you know it. Trump has them totally backed into a corner because they're trying to defend this indefensible crime record and trying to make it about something. It's not, and people see through it. They see through it so fast. So this was actually really smart for the administration to tackle this. I don't know if they had planned to do this or if this was just recent, but it's really smart because they have the legal ability and the legal standing to be able to do this. I would say the mayor is trying
Starting point is 00:48:44 to play both sides here. She knows that she's up against it. And that if she comes out as being against the federal government's help? By the way, don't most Democrats want more federal government? They want all the federal government and all the money they can possibly get. Except when it's Trump offering to help, then they don't want it. You understand how this exposes them so badly from a political perspective. Meanwhile, you know, and I'm seeing in some of your comments right now that you're concerned about this D.C. police chief and you have right to be concerned about,
Starting point is 00:49:20 Pamela Smith because there are some real questions about why it is that Pamela Smith has the job. I mean, you can probably go back over the last 10, 20 years and say, why does some of these people have this job? But in this particular case, it's believed that this is somebody who was put there for one reason and one reason only. We talked about this a little bit yesterday. I was really struck. I'm like, wait a second. She was a dog trainer, a police dog trainer. She was running the K-9 unit, apparently. She was a park ranger. So she worked on the park team. And then she was training drivers. She was also a social worker, having been apparently a foster child herself.
Starting point is 00:49:59 She went to work in Staten Island in the foster care system, rehabilitating juveniles. So you see where this is going. I mean, if you're trying to crack down on the juveniles that are such a problem in D.C., then maybe you need somebody in charge of the police force that cares as much about cracking down on juveniles as this woman does on rehabilitating them. So Pamela Smith is being criticized from all directions. Again, here's the dog trainer bit. This is unbelievable. She joined the canine unit in New York as a canine handler.
Starting point is 00:50:31 Wow. Whoopty-do. Okay? And then she was an instructor at the federal law enforcement training center, law enforcement driver training program down in Georgia. Whoa. You know, not exactly the kinds of things that you would expect of somebody who's about to become a police chief.
Starting point is 00:50:47 And then here's this one. She somehow became head of DEI for the police in D.C. And from there, what do you know? She gets the big gig. So she's just like an HR person, right? Who's a social worker who's now in charge of D.C. police. Are you kidding me? Nothing against her.
Starting point is 00:51:08 I'm sure she's a perfectly nice person. But this is not the kind of qualification that you would actually deem necessary, right, for such an important job. So what's going on? Well, we know what's going on. I mean, it was DEI City, right? Well, Donald Trump has actually challenged all of that. That's being challenged. I mean, Harvard had to learn the hard way, right?
Starting point is 00:51:25 A lot of these universities paying big, big fines, learning the hard way that that doesn't fly. So they're all up a creek without a paddle and minus, in the case of Columbia University, $200 million in their case. I mean, they're all paying fines. One after another. Harvard is still fighting it,
Starting point is 00:51:41 but the DEI thing is not flying. And so this is who is in charge? of the DC police? I mean, I'm sorry, ABC is learning the hard way too, right? Brandon Carr talking about how DEI has got to go, got to go, got to go. I mean, it's part of why I started 76 research. Quick shout out for my firm. Inflation coming in at 2.7 percent. Don't tell the New York Times. Oh, my gosh, or Bloomberg, they were just chomping at the bit, trying to hope for lots and lots of inflation. And, of course, they spawned this as, oh, it's tariffs. But I'll tell you what, the market went up. The market went up because investors are still encouraged,
Starting point is 00:52:16 I look at the market today. You get a NASDAQ that's flat. You get the S&P that's a little bit higher right now. You get the Dow Jones up about six-tenths of a percent. So there's still a ton of optimism out there. I encourage you to invest right now. Go to 76 Research.com. This is my company. I started with a friend and now colleague there at 76 research. And we just have lots of good ideas for you. Lots and lots of good ideas. We even have portfolios. Actually, there's three of them. American Resilience. Take a look at that. One of our tech picks up 84%. We've got a tech stock. Another one up 54%. Inflation protection. If you're If you look at some of the material stocks, we have industrials, all of this. You know, energy stocks and the income builder, income builder being for people who are more conservative, there's a lot there to be looking at. So I encourage you to go to 76 research, use my code word dollar, sign up at least for the dollar or month for the first two months. Goes to 9.95 thereafter for the 76 report. Meanwhile, make sure you subscribe, share, like, all that good stuff. As we talk about this DEI thing that's taking over D.C.
Starting point is 00:53:13 And the concerns about that, you know, it's all. hit hard at some of the networks, specifically, of course, ABC. We talked about this, but it's worth addressing again. The View is getting a cancellation notice by none other than one Rosie O'Donnell. Rosie O'Donnell, who used to work at the View, apparently twice. I didn't realize that. I knew she was there like once, but she apparently was there twice. So she did a couple of rounds, which she mentions in this TikTok post that she put up, guys, and she's telling them, look, you're out, and you may not know it now, but here, I'm going to prep you for what's coming down the pike,
Starting point is 00:53:54 because what they're doing in this moment and time is they're just trying to tell you, oh, things are being looked at. They are being reviewed. And then she said they're going to drop the hammer. And this is something I've been saying for a while. I think for different reasons. I just think that this show. is too expensive to produce and you get too many high salaries and they haven't been able to
Starting point is 00:54:14 kind of catch on within the sort of streaming world they're trying they've got like a weekend edition of the view that streams now where they're trying to do more entertainment topics it took whoopie a while before she agreed to even do that in part perhaps because she simply uh wanted more money so if they're paying her more money again they're looking at this and going oh my gosh can we really swing it um rosy told them look you guys are getting canceled She said they're reviewing the liberal bias on the view, which means, quote, it's code for, and I'm going to go to her statement here, it's code for we're going to cancel it. We're going to cancel the view. We're just trying to soften you up first. And then she's like ranting. It's like a four-page thing. I won't bore you with all of it.
Starting point is 00:54:59 But she goes on and on and on about how you're trying to silence women. You're trying to silence a whole group of women who are speaking the truth. and of course we know that's not to be the case because they have promoted all kinds of lies including lies direct from Hillary Clinton's mouth about Russia, Russia, Russia. All this is coming out now. Brendan Carr is citing it, but you know what? I'm not surprised, and I don't think they're surprised on the view either.
Starting point is 00:55:27 I think they were worried about this. They're going to blame Donald Trump. I'm going to just blame the economics of this situation. In other words, the show doesn't make enough money to support all of the people that have to work on. on it. You're talking a live studio audience. You're talking about the person who tells everybody when to clap. I mean, they actually hold up signs and they say clap and they say, you know, laugh. And this is like a job in and of itself. They have to have somebody to literally book the audience, right?
Starting point is 00:55:51 Because you've got to get people in there to watch the view. There's a whole bunch of things that they have to do. So it doesn't surprise me that ABC will look to pull the plug right now because it's just, it's not economical. It really isn't. And Joy and Rachel Maddow, interestingly, address this ahead of the election. It's like they were just like prepping themselves, right? Just in case, just in case. And I think Rosie's doing her part to help them as well.
Starting point is 00:56:18 But I think it's over and it's not because of Trump. It's because of them. And the product that nobody wants to be associated with and nobody wants to watch anymore. Here we go. Take a look at them, threaten that they were going to lose their gigs ahead of the election. So you said recently that you thought
Starting point is 00:56:35 that you, as an outspoken critic, could be a target yourself. Some people think that sounds over dramatic, but I'm right there with you. I think that he is so vindictive that he will go after, however he has to do the IRS maybe, or even through sponsors to get us off the air, maybe. Or you.
Starting point is 00:56:56 How seriously should we be taking that? Well, so I was asked, am I worried about me? And my answer was, I'm worried about all of us. I'm no more worried about me than I am worried about everybody in the country. I think it's bad. to have somebody saying, give me as much power as you can in this country so I can use it to go after other Americans. So I can use it to go after these subhuman internal enemies and I'll destroy them.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Like that's just not a good system for anybody. And I don't think anybody's safe if that's the sort of basis on which he wants to get more power. Well, remember when Nixon had an enemies list. That was a proud moment for a lot of people if they were on the enemy's list. Maybe we need to turn it around like that. Well, I don't, I mean, I think that if he decides that he's going to go after you or me or anybody who's well known, you know, we have resources will be, we'll likely be fine. But I think there's a pattern where he picks out individual people and effectively terrorizes that. But I mean, there's Stormy Daniels wearing a bulletproof vest to get into the courthouse.
Starting point is 00:57:56 Once you have political violence, you have fascism following that. Yeah. Look, I mean, they were they were trying to grease the wheels, so to speak, because they knew what was. coming eventually, but it's kind of a dying industry. I mean, network television itself, I see one of you guys saying, well, what about outnumbered? You know, look, Fox is also, I mean, they're definitely the big cahuna, the cable bunch right now, and they've done better than the others. But when you look at their numbers, they're not great either. So it's just, it's the reality of where we are. I think people are switching because you have this sort of big menu that you can choose from.
Starting point is 00:58:32 And hopefully you're choosing here and you're subscribing and sharing. Make sure you hit the like button, but you have this opportunity to get more news in new places and more opinion in new places. For example, on Spotify where I am or on YouTube Live, where I am right now. I mean, this is a whole new market, right? So you can be more selective. You can go out and find more perspectives and you don't have to, you don't have to listen to whatever they're dishing up, right, in network television. And so all of this is coming at a time of massive appeal for the industry. Rachel Maddo now I'm hearing is. probably, probably not long for the new versant, which is the spinoff of the cable properties
Starting point is 00:59:14 from Comcast. If we are to believe that she's really making $25 million a year for one show a week, that's not going to fly because that show in and of itself is not earning its keep. So why do you continue to have her there, right? Just because you want her on a billboard somewhere, those days are kind of over. Cable television is not what it once was. You know, Granted, it can continue in some ways to print money, provided you run the costs really low. So as long as you can squeeze some profitability out of the place, then maybe you'll be fine. But if you're paying $25 million for this lady, it's not going to happen. Listen, you can narrow or widen the aperture as much as you want.
Starting point is 00:59:59 You can look at the very big picture or the small local picture anywhere in the country. and we try to do as much of both of those things as we can every week here on this show. But whether you're looking at small-scale local stories or the biggest picture stories about what's happening in our country, the story is the same, and it is now an undeniable thing. We have crossed a line, we are in a place we did not want to be, but we are there. The thing we were all warning about for the last few years is not coming, it is here. We are in it. This is what it likes, it turns out.
Starting point is 01:00:32 This is what it's like, right? I mean, it's August. It's a Monday. Every day the sun rises and the sun sets and there are, you know, sports and movies and there are new hit songs. There are scandals here and there. There are crimes. There's everybody's personal quotient of family drama and health worries and money worries and falling in and out of love and in and out of faith. Life has not stopped and none of our personal lives have stopped. But also at the same time, life in the United States is profoundly changing, is profoundly different than it was. even six months ago. Because we do now live in a country that has an authoritarian leader in charge. We have a consolidating dictatorship in our country. Because it is a...
Starting point is 01:01:17 And it sounds melodramatic to say it. I know. But just go with that for a minute, right? Think in melodramatic terms. Think in cinematic terms. Imagine the cartoon-level caricature of what you think a dictatorship looks like. I mean, it's secret police, right?
Starting point is 01:01:39 A massive, anonymous, unbadged, literally masked, totally unaccountable internal police force that apparently has infinite funding, but no identifiable leadership. And they act in ways designed to instill maximum fear and use maximum force. I mean, when you imagine an authoritarian country, right, what you imagine is masked secret police breaking people's car windows and snatching. watching people off the streets and out of church parking lots and courtroom hallways and taking them away with no charges, no notice, no paperwork, no explanation, not letting them see lawyers and then moving them secretly to what are effectively black-site prisons where they won't tell you who's there and where no one's allowed in to see what's going on. And that kind of a cartoon caricature of an authoritarian country, the one you might have imagined. And in melodramatic and cinematic terms ever before we got here, you would expect, right, that you'd have a scapegoated minority group, blamed for all things. You get where she's going and I'm not going to torture you by making you listen to the whole thing. But she had this complete meltdown, right, the other night on her one show a week that she does on MSNBC.
Starting point is 01:02:48 And I just want to point out when she's talking about this manipulation of the truth, can we figure out what she actually did? Somebody posted this on X. And it's fantastic because this was the ultimate manipulation. And we had to deal with it, frankly, for years. Well, I think her time's up. The bottom line of this dossier, the bottom line allegation, the point of it, is that the Trump campaign didn't just benefit from Russia interfering in our presidential campaign. The point of this is they colluded.
Starting point is 01:03:18 They helped. They were in on it. This is kind of a real story. The connections between the Trump servers and the Alpha Bank servers were real. They were covert communications that someone was trying to hide, that the Trump organization and Alpha Bank appear to have been trying to hide. Now we know that the vaccines work well enough, that the virus stops with every vaccinated person. A vaccinated person gets exposed to the virus. The virus does not infect them.
Starting point is 01:03:53 The virus cannot then use that person to go anywhere else. cannot use a vaccinated person as a host to go get more people. We and other news organizations have generally stopped giving an unfiltered live platform to remarks by former President Trump. It is not out of spite. It is not a decision that we relish. It is a decision that we regularly revisit. And honestly, earnestly, it is not an easy decision.
Starting point is 01:04:22 But there is a cost to us as a news organization of knowingly broadcasting untrue things. That is a fundamental truth of our business and who we are. Wow. I mean, the brazen lies, the rabbit holes that she took us, I'm kind of going to miss it, you know? I mean, it's entertaining, if nothing else, right, guys? It just hit me. Is she wearing black in every single one of those? I think she might be, or at least every Monday she wears black because I was like, wait, which Monday is this?
Starting point is 01:04:53 The woman wears the same outfit all the time. She's got her little uniform of the black suit. you know what I think look it's over for poor Rachel but you know she'll go on to do something else it's not all bad on the other side I mean look at what we've been able to do here right at the Trish Regan show and I thank you guys for all that
Starting point is 01:05:14 for all your support because we're climbing steadily towards a million it's really actually sort of amazing when I look at these numbers in cable TV which are lousy I think gosh you know we've been able to do more than they're doing on any given day. Take a peek, okay? These are the average viewers tuning in, I mean, 359,000. We're doing upwards of a million here on the channel every single day. We've got 562,000. We're beating MSNBC just on the little old Trish Regan show right here, right now. These are pretty shockingly bad
Starting point is 01:05:45 numbers. And I think that the real number you need to focus on here, somebody just brought up Fox in the chat a little bit earlier, is what we're seeing from Fox down 16 percent. And respectively in the demo, down 41% just in the last week. So this is bad stuff, right? It really shows you the direction of cable news, which is down, down, down. And I don't think that's going to change. I mean, the reality is you can save a ton of money by cutting the cord. And a lot of people have, and you get a little more authenticity. I mean, hey, John Lyons, you can get to see me put the lipstick on live TV. I would have done this in a commercial break. But we don't have the same kind of commercial breaks here in the podcasting world, live right now. So,
Starting point is 01:06:25 So you're here for all of it, really. The good, the bad, the ugly, including when we lose the signal, et cetera. True detective asking if we're going to hear about La Monica, La Monica facing any justice soon. I did read, and maybe we can talk about this some more. I did read this morning that she went out and did some kind of event, you know, fundraising because she has to fundraise to pay her legal bills and to try and elevate her status. I don't see AOC trying to help her. I don't really even see Jasmine Crockett trying to help her anyway.
Starting point is 01:06:52 She's out doing the speaking round, trying to work. trying to raise money saying, oh, you know, I'm a mom, I'm a wife, I'm this, I'm that, and they're going to send me away for 17 years. You better believe it. They're going to send you away for 17 years because you can't do what you did. I don't think she'll get the full 17 years, honestly. I think she'll get some other kind of settlement, but she still is in serious, serious trouble. So we can get into that, John the detective, on tomorrow's program, because I think that's worth at least scoping out. It's my understanding that she continues to actually pay visits unannounced to these prisons,
Starting point is 01:07:25 even though you're supposed to give them a seven-day notice. Because, you know, she's La Monica and she thinks she can. Reminder, go over to 76 Research, my firm. Use code word dollar. Make sure you're investing for your future. I created this for you guys. Along with this show that I created for you, please make sure you subscribe.
Starting point is 01:07:44 I think the button is right down there. Hit the subscribe button, hit the like button. I will be back here live again with you tomorrow. See you then. Thank you.
