Starting point is 00:00:00 Ilhan Omar talks so fondly about Somalia all the time. I really hope she likes it as much as she has let on because she may just be going back. Sooner than she thought, welcome to the program, everyone. I am Trish Rue. We want to get a big show for you today. I want to get into Ilhan Omar and what the Justice Department has just revealed, which is a pretty big reveal. We're going to talk about why they're considering denaturalizing one Ilhan Omar
Starting point is 00:00:24 and the alleged evidence they have to go on. We're going to talk about the future of legacy. media going, bye-bye, really fast, bye-bye, bye-bye, bye-bye. They're freaking out over at CNN, literally right now. They are absolutely freaking out because, you see, Barry Weiss is going to be their boss from CBS. I mean, they're freaked out enough at CBS, and now look what's going to happen at CNN. David Ellison is getting Time Warner.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Not Netflix, not woke Netflix. Oh, well, you know, happens to the best of them. Welcome to the program, as I said. Quick reminder, you know, if you haven't gone and subscribed to my 76 research. this for you guys and I really encourage you to go there and do that. We're very proud of our recent stock pick that we just added mid-February. It's already up 45%. What do you know, since we added it. Lots of good ideas in those model portfolios. So go check it out. We begin today's program. Ilhan Omar is about to go home. So it seems they're at least really
Starting point is 00:01:23 looking quite hard into this over at the DOJ. You know, this has been talked about for some time, but we have not really heard anything so emphatic as what we heard on my friend Benny Johnson show earlier today, Harmeet Dillon, who is the assistant attorney general and primarily in charge of some of the racial discrimination issues, says this is on their radar and there's an investigation going on. She can't say much, she says, but suffice it to say, this is kind of a wow moment. To see her contempt and right next to her, Sheetadab, you know, another person with an immigrant background. Look, Ilhan Omar has some legal issues regarding her citizenship.
Starting point is 00:02:06 I'll just leave it at that. I think that they've been well covered in the press. But it's shameful. Yeah, that was an interesting answer. Could you, like, elucidate at all for us on these citizenship issues for Ilhan Omar? Will we ever see anything on that? I will tell you that I was very... I don't get ahead of anything, but I think it's been well covered,
Starting point is 00:02:25 and I covered it certainly myself before I joined the DOJ, that... Certainly it's a truism of immigration law that if you commit fraud in the course of obtaining your citizenship, if you lie about being a, oh, that you weren't a Nazi guard at a concentration camp, you can be denaturalized. If you lie about your marriage status on which your citizenship depends, or your familiar status or what have you. If you fake any of those documents or you lie, that's a grounds for denaturalization. And so I think it's been credibly alleged that there are serious questions about the circumstances of the paperwork around that naturalization. I'll just leave it at that.
Starting point is 00:03:11 I'm not working on that issue. That's not part of what the Civil Rights Division does. But I think we need to police that seriously. It is a precious privilege to be granted citizenship as a naturalized citizen in this country. And I don't think it should be taken away lightly, but it's just a basic concept of law that if you commit fraud in the course of obtaining a benefit, you're not entitled to it.
Starting point is 00:03:34 I just think this is fantastic. So Harmeet is a fantastic lawyer. Okay, fantastic lawyer. I'm just going to say that. I know her from Fox, and she was a Fox News contributor. And I'm just going to add that she's not only a fantastic lawyer, She's not going to throw stuff out there just for the heck of it. Am I throwing shade at Pambondi right about now?
Starting point is 00:03:57 I may be, but I have reason to, okay? I have reason to. Leticia James is reason number one. James Comey is reason number two. But anyway, her meets the real deal. And so what she's saying here is that they have some thought and process that's going into this. And she really couldn't say much. But listen, if what is out there is believed to be true,
Starting point is 00:04:20 if that turns out to be true, I'm going to tell you, and I put a nice little time together for everybody, we're going to go through this together. There is a lot to go on, and it's very, very, very suspicious. I'm just saying, okay? So in 2002, Ilhan Omar is 19 years old, and she marries a guy named Ahmed Hirsey. Now, they're not married in like a legal government ceremony at all. They're married in a religious ceremony. So as far as her culture is concerned, yes, they're very much married, but they weren't married officially in the eyes of the law. So this is important and a distinction that we're going to come back to in a minute. She has two children with Mr. Ahmed Hirsi in 2003 and 2006. So it's a real marriage. Okay. They're together. They have kids.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Then they separated in 2008. She marries again in 2009 to a guy named Ahmed. Oh, you know, that makes it easy, right? Ahmed. She likes the amends. She marries a guy named Ahmed Nur Saeed Elmi. That's the guy that some people online believe might be her brother. I'm here to tell you, it doesn't even matter if it's her brother or not, because if it wasn't a real marriage, if they didn't love each other, if it was just you know, for money only or to help somebody get citizenship, this, that or the other, that's a huge problem, okay? Like, huge problem. Like, we'll get to that again in a second. And I'll explain to you legally why it's such a huge problem. But she marries this guy and she marries him
Starting point is 00:05:53 officially. Like this is on the books, right? This is in, you know, the government register. She does this the right way when she goes and marries this guy, another Ahmed, nurse Syed Elmi. And she divorces him like a year and a half later. Okay? That's what's weird. And then what's even more weird is that a year later, while he's off at school allegedly in one of the Dakotas, she has a third child with the first guy, the first guy that she's just divorced. So you tell me how that makes sense to you, right? She's married to one guy in a religious ceremony. Then she separates from him, divorces him, marries this other guy in an official ceremony,
Starting point is 00:06:39 but no religious stuff around it. Like they don't do a religious ceremony. It's like an official ceremony and not within her church. She has another kid with the first guy, and then, boom, presto, like a year and a half, two years later, she divorces the second guy. I know it's confusing, you know, she must not be a very good Muslim because she keeps getting married. And now the latest and greatest runs an alcohol company, you know, wine company. Well, maybe not. There's no wine.
Starting point is 00:07:10 And then I used to run a cannabis company. So we'll tackle that. Again, momentarily. I want to go in order because there's so much. So in 2012, she then gets back together with hubby number one. So the thing about it, hobby number one, the one she marries in the religious ceremony and has two kids with, she divorces so she can go for hubby number two, who seems a little sus and was over in the UK, comes here, apparently went to school, and they weren't even
Starting point is 00:07:40 living together while they were married, apparently. She still has a third child. She goes and gets pregnant with the other guy, the first husband, and he's not around. The second husband, then he, like, I guess goes back to the UK. Apparently he lives in South Africa right now, but there's not a lot on him. He's posting some stuff on social media from South Africa. So the belief is he's now there. She then goes back and she marries, again, hubby number one.
Starting point is 00:08:06 And hubby number one, now they have three kids together and she are together for a few years until, who, I don't know, Mr. Minet. like sweeps her off her feet, Timmy Minet, you know, the looker he is. Not. He comes in, out of the blue, and he has some kind of affair with her. It leaves his wife, Beth Minet, for this one. Gosh. You know, there's not much to say.
Starting point is 00:08:36 I mean, again, she's obviously clearly not a very good Muslim in any way, shape, or form. But, you know, Timmy Minet suddenly becomes Numero uno in her book, and she divorces. That poor guy that she's been with since she's 19 years old that she's got three kids with. She's already divorced him once. She divorces him again. And marries Timmy Minet, the guy who has multiple times been accused of fraud. Not only does she marry him, she marries him on the exact same day that she reveals her big feeding our future. Boomduggle to the tune of $250 million.
Starting point is 00:09:15 dollars than American taxpayers were defrauded out of. And all her, you know, peeps back in, I almost in Somalia, like little Somalia in Minneapolis, they're all involved in it. So, yeah, we have questions, and so does Hermit Dillon have questions. Because you see, I want to go back to marriage number two. Maybe, you know, if you believe the Internet, she could be related to the guy. But we don't even need that, okay? if she married him under false pretenses, pretending, in other words, that she was in love with the guy
Starting point is 00:09:53 so that she could help him get into the country, ooh, that's a problem. Okay, it's a problem because that's actually grounds for denaturalization. I've done a lot of research on this, and it turns out that if you have been naturalized as a citizen, and then you go out and you use your newfound citizenship to then go marry somebody and it's not a real marriage, but you just want to get them citizenship, that's like a really big, bad thing to do as far as the U.S. government's concerned. Like, you go out and commit some pretty heinous acts and do some pretty heinous stuff. I mean, like, you could be convicted of murder and you'll go to jail, but you won't get denaturalized.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Think about that. That's how seriously they take this. So if you have been naturalized as a citizen and then you go out and you use that citizenship to offer to someone else in a false marriage, that's a big deal. And they will and can denaturalize you over that. And then you're in the country without a visa and you're going to get deported. 18 USC, 101, false statements to the federal government. They consider it as false.
Starting point is 00:10:57 They're saying now you don't have the right character to have been in the country initially because you clearly don't believe in our constitutional values. And then 8 USC 1451 procurement of citizenship by concealment or misrepresentation. we're going to get to that because there's some talk out there that she never should have gotten citizenship in the first place because of who her family was, who her father was, and because she was being naturalized as sort of a derivative of his status and his citizenship. The belief in some communities is that he never was deserving of citizenship because of his connection to the Somali rulers that were so barbaric and so horrible there that led to this civil war. So this is actually pretty, pretty, you know, significant and something that is also being looked into. As Hermit alluded to, and I want to go back to what her meet said again, because I think it's really important,
Starting point is 00:11:55 especially as I go into 8 U.S.C. 1451 and talk about that. But in terms of the false statements to the federal government, you know, if she was out there marrying somebody because she thought that, you know, this was for whatever reason, I don't know, maybe there was financial gain, Maybe it was just gain because if, in fact, he was a relation, et cetera, they wanted to get him into the country. I don't know, but I'll just have you at this. Like, it doesn't really matter. If it wasn't a real marriage, then they can go after her for that.
Starting point is 00:12:25 And that's a big deal as far as the government is concerned. And I think we have reason. I'm just saying, not accusing anybody of anything, but I'm just saying we have reason, right, do we not, to say, gee, you were married to one guy. You had kids with him. you suddenly dropped him like a hot potato marry this other guy. That was like a whiz bang, right? Like that didn't last long.
Starting point is 00:12:45 You guys weren't even living together. And then he ups and leaves. Maybe this was a marriage plan gone awry because, you know, a couple years later, she's back with the other guy. And in the interim, she has the other kid with the first guy. It's really strange stuff. But again, I want to get to this next part. 8 U.S.C. 1451.
Starting point is 00:13:05 In other words, did she never deserve citizenship in the first place? Let's go back to my friend Benny, really good interview with Harmeet, and he's smart, right? Because he heard what we all heard. And he's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. He let her finish her sentence. And he's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Like, slow down. What did you mean by that?
Starting point is 00:13:23 Because he kind of dropped kind of a big, big spectacle in our lap. Let's go back to Harmeet and Benny. To see her contempt and right next to her, Rashida Tlaib, you know, another person with an immigrant and background. Look, Ilhan Omar has some legal issues regarding her citizenship. I'll just leave it at that. I think that they've been well covered in the press, but it's shameful. Yeah, that was an interesting answer. Could you, like, elucidate at all for us on these citizenship issues for Ilhan Omar? Will we ever see anything on that? I will tell you that I was very... I don't get ahead of anything, but I think it's been well covered, and I covered it certainly myself before I joined the DOJ, that
Starting point is 00:14:05 certainly it's a truism of immigration law that if you commit fraud in the course of obtaining your citizenship, if you lie about being a, oh, that you weren't a Nazi, you know, guard at a concentration camp, you can be denaturalized. Okay, that's really important what she just said. And we're going to go back to the law and talk about the father as it relates to what Harmeet's saying. I want to play it again and I won't jump in. But just listen to these words carefully. You know, guard at a concentration camp.
Starting point is 00:14:42 And we're going back again. If you lie about being a, oh, that you weren't a Nazi, you know, guard at a concentration camp, you can be denaturalized. If you lie about your marriage status on which your citizenship depends or your familiar status or what have you, if you fake any of those documents, or you lie, that's a grounds for denaturalization. And so I think it's been credibly alleged that there are serious questions about the circumstances
Starting point is 00:15:14 of the paperwork around that naturalization. I'll just leave it at that. I'm not working on that issue. That's not part of what the Civil Rights Division does. But I think we need to police that seriously. It is a precious privilege to be granted citizenship as a naturalized citizen in this country. And I don't think it should be taken away lightly,
Starting point is 00:15:31 but it's just a basic concept of law that if you commit fraud in the course of obtaining a benefit, you know, you're not entitled to it. Boom. Okay. So this is a big deal. Again, you know, think about what she's saying here, and we talked about the marriage fraud and the possibility that there may have been something funky going on there. But let's look at this other thing.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Procurement of Citizenship by concealment or misrepresentation. She said, for example, you know, if it turns out you were one of the Nazis and you come here and you're looking for asylum and you don't admit what you were actually engaged in. and what you were doing, then they can go back after the fact retroactively and revoke the citizenship. And you could also thereby then revoke the citizenship of the children because the children, it becomes null in void. She apparently got citizenship from the USA because of her dad when she was 17 years old. So just to sort of reiterate, under U.S. law, someone's barred from asylum or residency if they have
Starting point is 00:16:28 committed war crimes, if they've participated in persecution in any way, if they've committed any crimes against humanity or engaged in terror activity, this is a very big deal because what has been alleged, and I'm not saying this is true, but what is being discussed about the father in Ilhan Omar's case is that he may not have been fully representative of who he was. Here's an article from a biased publication. Okay, so like, you know, I'm always fair. I'm not going to try and present something that isn't, but let's just, you know, indulge this for one minute because I think it's important to at least understand what is out there and what has been alleged. So they're saying that this colonel in the army, and apparently that has been confirmed.
Starting point is 00:17:13 He was a colonel in the army. Now, she says he's a teacher, but he was at some point a colonel, right, in this army. His name was Nur Omar Mohammed. He's since been deceased. He was her father. And so they're saying in this article that he had a certain kind of rank and certain kind of authority, a membership of the regime Darud clan and was there for like 10 years and he climbed the hierarchy in Somalia military to the rank of colonel, placing him squarely.
Starting point is 00:17:40 They write in the Somalia military lands command hierarchy during and at the height of the Asak genocide campaign. Now, this is important again. I'm going to caution you on the source. It's from Somalia land chronicles and they don't like Ilhan very much. So continuing on with their publication, they say based on his position, loyalty to the regime and his role in the military, it's virtually certain that he had intimate knowledge and involvement in the planning, conception, direction, and the execution of the genocide. So if that were the case, and he did not admit any of that, well then, guys, you're going to have, if this comes out, the ability to, yes, take away her citizenship because he never should have gotten citizenship in the
Starting point is 00:18:30 first place because he would not have been of the right moral character in standing in order to have gotten it, right? Committed war crimes. Participated in persecution, crimes against humanity, you name it. And so this is why we get back to this law, 8 U.S.C. 1451, the procurement of citizenship by concealment or misrepresentation. And in the eyes of the law, if you did this, your citizenship would be stripped and your children. citizenship thereby that had gotten them from you would also be stripped. Now, again, you have to balance this with what's real, what's not. And one of the frustrating things about this is because she's from this war-torn area and kind of make up anything, right? Like, where are all the records?
Starting point is 00:19:14 What do we actually know? What do we don't really know? And so if you look, what you see, there's all these allegations that have been made about the dad and then what is really documented. And so it's going to take a fair amount of work, I would imagine, to really figure this out. After all, there are no formal war crimes that have been recorded. He wasn't part of any kind of international tribunal that investigated him. There are no criminal charges filed against him, but they're arguing that he had to have been part of this ruling clan because he served as a colonel under Saeed Bar. And that actually seems to be the case.
Starting point is 00:19:50 In other words, he did have this position within the military. So if he had the position within the military, as it has been. been alleged, and I do believe that that could be proven out, then you'd have to go to the next column, right, and think about what did he engage in, and that's where it starts to get really murky. So there's two sort of lines, I think, of thinking that they're going after her on, and that would be, in terms of the citizenship, it would be whether or not the father deserved the citizenship, and therefore did she, and then whether or not she committed some kind of marriage fraud in that second go-around with the second hubby, and then, you know, we haven't even gotten,
Starting point is 00:20:28 to Timmy Minet. Timmy Minet. I keep saying, My Net Worth goes up when you, you know, she marries, this is what she's saying to herself. Mynet Worth just went up when she married Mr. Timmy Minet. I mean, if nothing else,
Starting point is 00:20:40 for goodness sake, she gave the guy a great payday. Remember this one? I mean, this is why she was initially being investigated by the Ethics Committee, because Timmy Minet's firm, he was her campaign manager. He received $878,000
Starting point is 00:20:53 between the years 2018 and 2020. So, what was that? 18, 2019, 2020. So, you know, he's making somewhere, you know, someone around, I'm guessing, like 300 or so if we, if we span this out over three years a year. And then suddenly he jumps to, woo, nearly three million during the 2020 campaign cycle from Omar's campaign. Now, I'd like to know, given that campaign cycle, given that in 2020, he was making suddenly so much, did she say to herself, heck, yeah, you know, this is the guy for me. I got to marry this one. And how looker that he is, I'm paying him. Nearly three million bucks. That's a lot, by the way, for a campaign
Starting point is 00:21:37 manager. I just want to take a little aside and tell you, that's a heck of a lot. Like, that's unheard of. It doesn't exist in congressional campaigns, except, you know, in Minneapolis, with Ilhan and Timmy. It doesn't exist to the point where Joe Biden was being criticized in front page peace in the New York Times. They were like, oh my gosh, he's painting. his campaign manager, $4 million. I think there was the sweetener if the guy actually got him elected. Hey, you deserve $4 million for getting Joe Biden elected too, right? $4 million would be a lot for a campaign manager.
Starting point is 00:22:06 They couldn't believe this. Well, hey, Timmy Minnet out there in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he's getting nearly three. Hey, not bad work. If you can get it, of course, you're going to be married to this one. Pick your poison. Listen, they're going to have. problems because the administration is now laser focused on her and they're laser focused on fraud and they're laser focused on Minnesota or Minneapolis. Her district is ground zero for all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Trump said it the other night. Listen. There's been no more stunning example than Minnesota. We're members of the Somali community of pillaged and estimated $19 billion from the America taxpayer. Oh, we have all the information. And in actuality, the number is much higher than that. And California, Massachusetts, Maine, and many other states are even worse. This is the kind of corruption that shreds the fabric of a nation, and we are working on it like you wouldn't believe. So tonight, although started four months ago, I am officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great vice president, J.D. Vance. Boom. Okay. So that means Ilhan, they're on to you. You get the Treasury Secretary, you get the IRS, you get J.D. Vance. And we're not talking Pam Bondi territory. This is J.D. Vance territory, all right? So good luck with that one. Not to mention, you know, they're going to send you in the meantime, as you so well deserve, as does your little friend Rashida. For this.
Starting point is 00:23:47 You should be ashamed of yourself, not standing up. You should be ashamed of yourself. You should be ashamed. ashamed of you, sir. That is why I'm also asking you to end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who block the removal of criminal aliens. In many cases, drug lords, murderers all over our country, they're blocking the removal of these people out of our country, and you should be ashamed of yourself. ashamed, ashamed. And they doubled down, of course, this week saying, you know what? Send him home. When you watch low IQ, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Talib, the president of the United States, writes on true social as they scream uncontrollably last night at the very elegant State of the Union.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Such an important, beautiful event. They had the bulging, bloodshot eyes of crazy people of lunatics, mentally deranged and sick, who frankly look like they should be institutionalized when people can behave like that and knowing that they are crooked and corrupt politicians so bad for our country, we should send them back to where they came from as fast as possible. They can only damage the United States of America. They can do nothing to help it. So he's calling them crooked. He's calling them corrupt and he wants them out of here. Okay. And now we have learned as of today, it's official, the DOJ, as we understand it, courtesy of Thank you, Benny, and also Harmeet Dylan, Harmeet coming up with this revelation here. In fact, they're looking into it.
Starting point is 00:25:22 And she says it needs to be looked into. Indeed, it does. Quick reminder, 76 research, one of our great stock picks, just picks mid-month. It's up, oh gosh, I got to change these numbers. I said 35.5%, but hey, guess what, guys, it's up 45%. Now, since we picked, up, up and away, right, since we picked it just a couple of weeks ago, I want you to have access to that. Get the 76 report at least for a code word dollar a month for the first two months. Or if you're more ambitious, go look at those model portfolios. We've got three of them there. That particular stock was added to two of them.
Starting point is 00:25:55 So please take a look. I'll give you the names of the two portfolios. One was the inflation protection portfolio. And then the other was the resilience portfolio, American resilience. So please go check those out. You know, look, I'm looking at these impeachment articles against one. Tim, I keep calling them all Timmy. They must have lots of Timmy.
Starting point is 00:26:16 He's, I guess, popular name in the state of Minnesota. Timmy, the governor, right? I don't know if he's going to be governor much long as I look at the screen. I see subscribe, come back up and please make sure you subscribe. If you haven't, do me that favor. Do subscribe to the Trish Rican show. Every little bit counts. Make a comment.
Starting point is 00:26:31 We are live and I see everything right now. Dragon Rider writing, if her citizenship is revoked, does she go to prison in the U.S. Or back into her country? That's a great, great question. I actually, I think that, you know, we could kind of flip a coin on that, which would be worse. I think it would be worse to go back there, don't you? Well, let me know what you think.
Starting point is 00:26:53 All right, impeachment articles filed against one Timmy Walsh, because, you know, it's a little strange, just a little strange. Have you seen this? The autism numbers? Dr. Oz is all over this thing. He's like, how is there a 34,000, 34,200 percent increase in the amount of autism spending under one Timmy Wals? I mean, it started at like one million.
Starting point is 00:27:18 in 2017. And now by 2024, we're all the way up to $343 million in autism spending. That's a little peculiar, so peculiar, that now these Minnesota congressmen at the Freedom Caucus there, they're filing articles of impeachment. Listen. Representative Mike Weiner, impeachment articles for the fraudster and chief, Tim Walves, holding politicians accountable. holding him accountable for the massive amount of fraud in the state of Minnesota estimated nine billion.
Starting point is 00:27:56 Uh-oh, Timmy. He's like, don't look at me. Don't look at me. I mean, hey, I'm all about going after fraud, oh, yeah. You can trust me on this. The person who's angriest about this fraud is me. There is certainly no political upside to having fraud in your state. And it undermines the very program that I have spent a lifetime advocating for and trying to implement.
Starting point is 00:28:16 And we have got criminals. It seems like the Republicans, the only people they're not concerned about in this is the actual criminals. No, no, we're pretty concerned about them. The criminals are the problem, and you're a problem because you allowed them. Okay, like we're not looking away from that. We want to know who's enabling the criminals because it's not just the criminals fault. It's the people that were enabling them, whether it be Timmy Walsh, whether it be Ilhan Omer. whether it be Keith Ellison.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I want to go to a Fox report on this. It'll just blow you away. It's really disgusting. The allegation is that the treatment centers would encourage parents to get a bogus diagnosis that their kid was autistic. The treatment center would then get a check and the parents would get a kickback. The treatment centers could not receive surprise inspections because they were not licensed. Now that licenses are required, only six out of more than 500 centers are even applying
Starting point is 00:29:15 for the provisional license. Dr. Ross says this goes all the way to the top of state leadership. This is not a problem with the people of Minnesota. It's a problem with the leadership of Minnesota and other states who do not take Medicaid preservation seriously. Any delay in services should be laid at the seat of Governor Walz. Now, Governor Tim Walz says the decision to withhold a quarter billion dollars in Medicaid money is an example of the Trump administration weaponizing the federal government and punishing the people in a blue state.
Starting point is 00:29:46 The sense of retribution, no state has experienced this before. How does taking and punishing children and elderly have anything to do with fighting fraud, when that's not where this issue was taking place? It does nothing. Now, in 2017, the money repaid to the state of Minnesota for autism treatment was less than $2 million. By 2019, word got out that money was available, and then when COVID hit, the money really started moving until we see in 2024. almost $350 million paid out for autism treatment. Quite a...
Starting point is 00:30:22 I'll tell you. You know, the idea that they're trying to say that this is retribution when we're like, hang on, we got $650 billion, according to the nonpartisan GAO in fraud happening every darn year. And you people are like, oh, how dare you look at us? No, no, no, no, no. We want to know every single last cent and where it is being spent fraudulently and we're going to hold everybody accountable because there's got to be some kind of system that prevents this
Starting point is 00:30:55 insanity, don't you think? CNN freaking out because guess what? David Ellson from Skydance, from Paramount, he got Paramount. He's coming in and he's going to get CNN. He's going to get all of time Warner and the CNN people are like, you've got to be kidding me. Oh my gosh, we have somebody who's kind of like on good terms with Trump, taking over a major media company. No one in Hollywood wanted this, and I mean, no one, and no one within the mainstream media news business wanted this. They're throwing a fit because you get Barry Weiss over there running the show at CBS.
Starting point is 00:31:37 They don't know what to do. You get a mutiny going down, right? They're all threatening to leave some of them. Have left Anderson Cooper. He left CBS and says. 60 minutes, but you see, he's still at CNN. So I think he's going to have to leave twice. I think he already wore out his welcome in the CBS negotiations.
Starting point is 00:31:58 What's going to happen next? I'll tell you, they are not happy about any of this. Here's the big news. Netflix, awoke Netflix, they're humiliated in this loss. They completely got squashed like a little bug, okay? This is like the company that Susan Rice is on the board of. She was the one just out recently, promising retribution for anybody who was aligned with MAGA. We're going to come back and get you and we're in charge.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Yeah, she's the one. Oh, no wonder Barack and Michelle got that Netflix deal, right? They get Susan Rice on the board. Anyway, Netflix is backing out because David Ellison is coming with deep pockets and the promise that he can get that job done. He can get the merger done. you're not going to run into all kinds of regulatory challenges. He does not believe for a variety of reasons, possibly including the fact that he gets along
Starting point is 00:32:51 better with the president. And so consequently, Netflix is now backing out. You know, they stood there and they were like, we got this, we got this, we got this. And they gave like a week of due diligence at some point because you have to. Right. Duty to shareholders means that if you are Time Warner, you can't just say, oh, we really like Netflix because they're so woke just like us. and you know everybody's going to be happy together.
Starting point is 00:33:13 His shareholders are like, some of the money, right? And if David Ellison is like, I can do better, and I promise you, I'll do better and I'll give you more money, then you have a duty to the shareholders. And so they had to go and entertain this offer, and it turns out, Netflix is out. Woke Netflix, totally humiliated and out of the game altogether. So now you're looking at Paramount and WB, Warner Brothers together.
Starting point is 00:33:37 And Warner Brothers, of course, owns time, well, CNN, okay, we're going back, a few mergers here. Let me start talking about Time Warner. Anyway, this is great because there's this little blog by this guy, who is a little guy who used to have a job at CNN, and now writes a newsletter on Substack or something, and he's pointing out that, okay, it's called Status. There you go.
Starting point is 00:34:01 I couldn't remember the name. I can't remember his name, but he's got this little newsletter, and he said, it's so bad there. They're like freaking out, quote, inside CNN, alarm bells went off as staffers began to panic over the suddenly very real prospect that they could be working for Barry Weiss before the end of the year. Within minutes of the news crossing the wire, my phone lit up with messages, I'm sure, from anxious employees fretting about the future.
Starting point is 00:34:26 Quote, we are doomed. One staffer candidly said, we're effed. Another said everyone is reeling about all the obvious things, said the third. The panic at CNN right now is off. the charts. One insider told his newsletter of the larger mood that had arrested the entire network. Of course, they're worried, right? Because Barry, like, actually wants to have the other side of the story. Like, if you're 60 minutes and you're going to do a whole thing on the Salvador prison, she kind of actually wants to hear from, say, oh, I don't know, Tom Holman.
Starting point is 00:35:03 And you don't even try to get Tom Homan? She's like, well, let me see if I can make the call. we're going to hold the story until we can at least try to get the other side in there. So CNN's like, well, what do we do now? I think they saw this one coming, though, because I've been seeing some of the information that they've put on the show recently, and it's like, oh, gosh, CNN, really? Like, you actually sound like a real news organization now. You're actually admitting things like, oh, you know, Americans feel that he is better on the immigration front than, say, the Democrats who want open borders.
Starting point is 00:35:33 They admitted that, right? Like, that's a big step, baby steps. but a big step in terms of their baby steps that they're making to try to be less insanely biased. Here's Variety saying just a couple of weeks ago that most Warner Brothers Discovery staffers were now in favor of the Netflix merger with Warner Brothers Studios, and the HBO Max would much rather be fully consumed by, say, Netflix than by David Ellison's Paramount Skydance. They're all worried.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Well, you know what? Now they're going to have to worry. and worry some more. And this is going to be one big company. They get HBO, HBO Max. I was just going down the list. CNN, CBS, DC Studios, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Paramount, Nickelodeon, MTV, showtime. TNT, I'm going to run out of breath. They got Harry Potter. They get DC Comics. They get Game of Thrones, the Lord of the Rings. I mean, this is going to be one massive. They've got SpongeBob and they've got Door the Explorer. Okay. So need I say more? Oh, Star Trek too. Okay. So this is massive. This is going to be a huge, huge entertainment company. And of course, these companies are free
Starting point is 00:36:36 out because they're like, what does this mean? From a wokeism standpoint, right? Like, they're really, really worried. But I'm going to tell you, it's not just what it means from sort of, are we going to actually have to be neutral in our coverage. I think it's actually, it means more than that. There's such an opportunity, and I say this all the time, I'm blown away by what I'm able to do on this little show and how many people I'm able to reach. And it's more than I was ever able to reach on any of those networks I worked at, which is incredible. If you haven't subscribed, make sure you do. But this is really just an enormously important time. We're like on the cusp of something massive. And I think David Ellison gets this. All of my sources that know him well say he's
Starting point is 00:37:16 one of the smartest guys that you'll meet who really thinks about tech and the future of this entire business in a new way. So he wants to bring that kind of innovation that you would see in the technology side of things to Hollywood and to the news business. So what could that mean? I mean, I think it's like incredible. I think about this stuff a lot. And I was thinking about it when I was at the Apple store and I tried on the goggles, you know, that they have there. And you feel like you're right on the front lines of something, like a sporting event.
Starting point is 00:37:47 And I thought to myself, gosh, this can be huge. This could be huge for news. Think about CNN. It used to be in the old days, right? They were bringing you in your living room to the front lines of who knows what. They can bring in the front lines of Gaza or Ukraine or right out. there in the middle of a hurricane. Well, what if it was no longer bringing these things, shall we say, to you in your living room? Think about the power of news in the future.
Starting point is 00:38:13 Because it won't be about, in the old days, when you first got TV, bringing the news to you in your living room, but rather bringing you to the news. So that, to me, is the power of the future as we think about the metaverse, et cetera. And, The news organization that can harness that is going to be way out ahead of the curve. So CNN, like they already have, right, all these bureaus all over the world, and they're just sitting there and it's like this dead asset that nobody wants. It's like the hot potato, right? He's the only guy who's like, yeah, I'll take it.
Starting point is 00:38:47 I'll take it. Well, you know what? He could do a lot with it. He could do a lot with it if he actually found a way with technology to bring the viewer from their living room directly. I think, beam me up Scotty, right? the Star Trek reference, to the news. And then they would be on the front lines of all these events,
Starting point is 00:39:08 sort of, I mean, not actually, not physically, but in that sort of metaverse world, and that, to me, is the huge opportunity and the huge future. And some people may say, is it ethical, really, and there are concerns about that, but you probably had all the same exact concerns when you first had television in the first place and you first had the likes of the CBS evening news bringing you all of this footage.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Now you're going to be able to probably, at some point in the future, experience it yourself. I think about it here on the show. We could have you right here in the studio, right? Boom, boom, boom. And like, it's not just me looking at your comments in real time. And thank you for your comments. They're wonderful. But, you know, you'd be, like, here with me.
Starting point is 00:39:55 The potential is enormous, enormous. And I think David Ellison is probably one of the few people that sees this. And so if he's got that kind of vision, and I don't know, maybe I'm the one with the vision. I hope he does. I mean, again, I'm hearing from sources he's really, really smart. And if you also think about the potential to bring AI productivity to Hollywood, I know this is scary for some people, but think about it, you could be writing your own movies. Like in real time.
Starting point is 00:40:26 You don't need to sit there and watch somebody else's movie. you can have your own movie. And I bet you he understands that and the power of that. And this is what scares Hollywood. I mean, forget the woke stuff. That's scary enough, right? But what's really scary to them is the reality that the entire business is about to change. We need innovators.
Starting point is 00:40:52 We need people to think about all of this stuff differently. And I think he will and I think he can. meanwhile over at the view, they need to start thinking about things differently. Do they not? Because the FCC's breathing down their back. The FCC's like, we've had it with you. And it's not just because of stuff like this from Whoopi. I'm not sure. I don't know if we moved on to another piece.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Amendment. Right. It's time. 25th Amendment is time. It's time. It is time for her to go. All right? I think we need the 25th Amendment for her. Anyway, the FCC is conducting this investigation.
Starting point is 00:41:26 It's been kind of heated because they're conducting it not into just all of Disney and all of ABC, but specifically into the view. And they're conducting it over the equal time rule that the FCC, under Donald Trump, Brennan Carr, is actually enforcing for the first time. And what the equal time rule is, is, oh, if you're going to have a candidate from one side of the aisle on, you've got to have the candidate from the other side of the aisle on. And this happened recently with Jasmine Crocket. They brought Jasmine Crockett. She's a gift for ratings, right? Maybe not. onto the view and then they had to bring on her, well they didn't have to. They chose to bring on
Starting point is 00:41:59 her competitor, James Nolariko, who looks like he's about 12 and he went on the view and got to talk up how great Jasmine is, right? It was like having two jasmans, well, different jasmen's on the view. And that's a problem because they never invited the Republican. And so they got called out for it. And now they're like freaking out and the view hosts are realizing they're realizing that they're in trouble, and so they got to do something different. And the different is possibly bringing on a diversified list of guests. Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, the rest of them, Sonny, they all just got humiliated, humiliated by what do you know, a little business reporter. You know, we business reporters, we're kind of smart. You know why? We don't just see things
Starting point is 00:42:47 through a political lens. We see things through an economic lens, through a market lens, through a numbers lens. And so this girl, who used to work with me at Bloomberg and then went over to another one of my former employers, CNBC, and does a pretty good job, she just put whoopee and company right darn in their place. Let me see if I have this little video to show you. Do we have it? Do we have it? I think we do. And I'm going to bring it up for you right now because Sarah Eisen took these guys on in a way that, you know, they did not know what hit them because they're not smart enough to really understand the economy. And so, consequently, they took it right on the chin. Let's see. This is fantastic, you guys. I mean, utterly fantastic. I want to make
Starting point is 00:43:36 sure it's the right one. Oh, yeah, I got it. Okay, here we go. Way to go, Sarah. After we do what we're supposed to do, I do want to ask you about the market because it's, it seems that the market doesn't really pay attention to who is president. The market does what it does. Actually, the market likes who's president, I think. Really? Oh, interesting. There's a lot of upbeat sentiment from companies and from investors about policies that are helpful for growth.
Starting point is 00:44:05 You know, deregulation? Do the tariffs are helpful for growth? The tariffs usually wouldn't be helpful for growth, but they haven't been as bad as everybody expected. But they're not good. Well, it helps for rich people. It doesn't help poor people or middle-income people. Well, but you know, when the tariffs were announced, everyone thought it would be, like, massive inflation, and the market would fall apart, and the economy of fall. And it hasn't.
Starting point is 00:44:28 Well, it's not yet. Companies have absorbed it. You know what? They've never been more profitable right now. But also, they like a tax bill. So it's like K-cur, right? So if you're an investor, if you're wealthy, then it's great. If you're middle class or under the middle class, then it's not good at all.
Starting point is 00:44:43 100%. But what I would say to that is that, you know, it helps to have exposure to stocks. Like, more people should have exposure to. to stocks, and that is something. Well, but if you're getting paid minimum wage, you don't have exposure to stocks. And that's part of it. I love this. I am loving this.
Starting point is 00:44:58 Yes, you need more exposure to stocks, 76research.com. But in other words, she's like, listen, this is good. This is good to the economy. It's all everybody's happy. And they're like, but it can't be. It can't be. It's going to get bad. And she's like, no, actually, it's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:45:10 So there you have it. Whoopee, were you listening hard enough? Do we need to give you another lesson in this? I think we need to give the whole mainstream media lesson in this. Here's one I found on Vox. Vox.com. They're talking about why Eileen Gou is the winner and why the U.S. men's hockey team is the loser. Have I said enough here? You get the point. They're like, okay, Eileen Gu, she's great because, oh, well, I guess they don't see her as being somebody who the Trump camp likes.
Starting point is 00:45:36 You know, the Trump camp is looking at her saying kind of, girl, you're like some kind of traitor? I mean, like, why the heck are you skiing for China when you could ski for the U.S. of A? For her, it's probably all the almighty dollar that kind of is dictating things I'm guessing. She got a lot of money from China, money that, you know, because we play by the rules here in the U.S. we wouldn't be giving to an amateur athlete. Meanwhile, the U.S. men's hockey team, oh, they're bad because you see Trump likes them. So that's how they, that's how they think about things, really. That is the mainstream media, guys.
Starting point is 00:46:06 That's the mainstream media in a nutshell. So two on that. And know that Brendan Carr is on the case. and know that we're going to get huge changes. Really? I mean, you cannot even begin to think about all that's coming. I mean, I can. I can see it all, right? I'm predicting the future. A lot of changes are coming from the media industry. Good to have you all here. I see somebody from my hometown of Hampton, New Hampshire. Love that. Live free or die. I put on my coffee cups. Live free or die, New Hampshire. So thank you for being here. All of you guys. If you have not,
