The Trish Regan Show - Is Islam Itself the Problem? A Conversation With Dr. Zuhdi Jasser

Episode Date: October 4, 2026

In this special Sunday excerpt from this week's Trish Regan Show, I sit down with Dr. Zuhdi Jasser for in an-depth look at why Islam, as a religion, does not mesh with America's values. According to D...r. Jasser, Islam is a political movement -- and its alliance with the left, including political candidates from Michigan's El-Sayed to Minnesota's Ilhan Omar, are putting the nation at serious risk. Starting point is 00:00:00 You consider what went down in the UK, when you consider what we're learning right now, when you consider what just transpired with that plane heading for Israel. And when you consider, think about this for a moment, the position that Iran is in and now, you have to ask yourself, are they all connected? And I think you'd be a fool to say that they weren't. Zudi Jasser joining us to talk about the role of religion in all of this. because it's one of my concerns here, and I brought it up. And I was saying to the viewers, just yesterday, Zudy, I've mentioned you a few times over the years.
Starting point is 00:00:36 I'm like, you know, whenever this comes up, I'm like, I got to call Zudy. So finally today, I called you. And I was like, we got to get you on. But, you know, what is, and this is, if you're just joining us, Dr. Zudy Jasser, who's actually a Republican nominee for Congress out there in Arizona. So a reminder to get out there and vote. But is Islam, in your view, part of this problem? Well, absolutely, the normative Islam, the bandwidth that takes up leadership in Islam, whether it's petro-Islam of Iran and their theocracy or the Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia or the Jemad Islami of Pakistan, wherever it is right now, the institutions that are Islamic have a cancer, and that's Theocracy.
Starting point is 00:01:18 And the West went through a reform against Theocracy and defeated Theocracy. That was the American Revolution. and it took an enlightenment process of separation of church and state and to render under Caesar what is Caesar and to God's what is gods. Islam has not gone through that process. And as you and I have talked over the years, political Islam is the root cause, is the cancer. It has civilizational jihadists that come into the West, pretend to be law-abiding citizens and will fight to counter our society.
Starting point is 00:01:50 And then there's terrorists who are anarchists and believe in asynchronous warfare and we'll do where the ends justify the means, and they'll do anything possible. So, you know, my family escaped Syria, came to the West and embraced Americanism. I believe that the only solution to Islamism, theocratic Islam, if you will, is Americanism, is the embrace of a society with a social contract where our rights come from God, not from any particular specific religion. Obviously, America is a Judeo-Christian country, but I believe that our rights come from God, just as our founding fathers did.
Starting point is 00:02:27 And Islam right now is such that Islamic governments believe that the rights come from the clerics, from the Islamic government, and their national identity, their jihad is about a military that is fighting a war where the world is divided into the land of Islam and the land of war. So we have to have an offense. We've not had an offense. We continue this whack-a-mole program, and President Trump finally, after 47 years, put his foot down and has been, you know, ending the nuclear program of Iran. And thank God they're much further away from getting a nuclear weapon today, because if they did get one, they would ultimately use it as they're using every tool that they have to fight against us right now. Oh, we're seeing that. Yeah, we're certainly seeing that. I think they're also kind of at the end of their robe.
Starting point is 00:03:17 who we heard the Treasury Secretary say over the weekend that they had basically two weeks left of oil that they could sell that was outside the blockade. And so as that thins out, they're getting pretty desperate. And I think that desperation is being reflected in, and we don't know all the circumstances. I'm going to get to the plane in just a moment, but we don't know all the circumstances surrounding that, although, again, my sort of instinct on that one is it's a plane heading for Israel. And, you know, you got this guy, I believe he's from Oman, trying to kill everyone in sort of a 9-11 type style, you know, we'll let them do their due diligence, but my instinct is that that was probably a similar type thing as what we were perhaps seeing in Fairford. But you mentioned something,
Starting point is 00:04:00 you know, people coming here, and your family came here from Syria. You know, we are a country that embraces diversity of religion, but how do you embrace the diversity of something like Islam if Islam is encouraging this kind of hate? And in talking to you over the years, I've actually learned a lot and I've done some reading on my own. And one of the things that struck me is that the only, and correct me if I'm wrong, because you know this better than me, Dr. Jasser. By the way, Zuni Jasser is actually a real doctor, not like Abdul-Sal-Said who never went and did his residency. He's a real doctor. But if Islam is saying, hey, the only way that you're going to be saved, the only guaranteed way for salvation is to be a martyr, is that sending a person? Is that sending
Starting point is 00:04:46 young men in a very dangerous, obviously, very suicidal and destructive direction. Because I also understand that once you get to heaven, in theory, not only are you saved because you're a martyr, but you have the opportunity to ask for up to 70 relatives to get saved. Yeah, there's no doubt that, you know, many of us in the Muslim Reform Movement have a vision of what we see as Muslim reformation that needs to happen. Not only is that the separation of church, of mosque, and state, much as in the West, to have an establishment clause mentality where religion can ever be established through government, but also in that personal relationship with God and how we see it in being a positive relationship, not one based in fear and hell and brimstone.
Starting point is 00:05:31 If you look, the most deadly day in the Islamic week is Friday after Friday prayers. Why? Why? Because they rile up the senses of militarism, of hate, of, you know, tribalism. All of these, you know, collectivisms need to be defeated. And if you look, for example, in the West, I was saying this in my testimony to Congress many times. I said, you know, forget that Muslims are just 1% of the population. This is going to infect your kids in universities. It's going to infect the far left. And if you look with Black Lives Matter movement and other far left's progressive, so-called progressivist movements, it was infected by this same type of violence where anything goes. And we can destroy federal buildings. We can, you know, cause riots and havoc and violence because it doesn't matter. Everything's upside down morally.
Starting point is 00:06:24 So I will say, just like in Christianity, where the Reformation got back to the love of Jesus and the embrace of a point. positive relationship with God. And yes, the concept of salvation Islam does not have. It's probably more similar to Judaism and that we don't know what happens at the end of time. We believe that we're being judged and we have to live humbly and in a life of grace, if you will, in humility and character. But that judgment day is something that an individual should have by themselves before God and not through government, not through the clerics, and not through a sense of of demanding and forcing coercively religion. So that's really, if you look at the 80 million Muslims in Iran that are on our side of this,
Starting point is 00:07:14 not the 10 million IRGC supremacists, the 80 million that either reject Islam totally or believe in it and have a version that they just haven't been able to have free speech to rise above theocratic version, those are the ones that have to go through the process that we did that we have in the West over the last hundreds of years and thankfully we have the best, you know, democracy on the planet at our 250th anniversary. That's something Islam has not gone through yet. And I think ultimately we need to have an offense to embrace Muslims that share our values on the ground. You mentioned something that I think is very important to understand right now, especially as we're on the eve of these elections. You mentioned this sort of correlation between this extremism on the left and the Muslim face.
Starting point is 00:08:04 What's going on there? I think Justice Thomas said it best. He was giving a speech in Austin two, three months ago, and he said, you know, the difference between progressivism and conservatism is progressivists think that you get your rights from government, while conservatives believe that we get our rights from God. So that's why the progressivists have been so wedded to the Islamists, because, you know, substitute government for the clerics and that tribe that's running government and it's Islamists.
Starting point is 00:08:32 That's why they're arm in arm, the red, green, asses. The Marxist jihadists worked together. My parents, my family have seen this movie before. When Nasser was rising in Egypt, he was a fascist socialism that had ridden the wave with the Islamists. Once they get into power, the Marxists and jihadists will have a duel at the end, if you will. We see this every time. And Iran, the Tudah party was hung from cranes in 1983, three or four years after the Islamists got into power. but they rode the wave together against the Shah.
Starting point is 00:09:07 So this is the issue is that the Marxist Islamists, the Chinese Communist Party works with Iran, Russia works with Iran, the Islamists, the El Sayyads of the world in Michigan or AOC work with El Sayyid. So they work together against their primary enemy, which is liberty, which is classical liberalism, freedom, the individualism, free markets, capitalism. And I've seen this here in America. You know, I saw my profession taken over by socialists through Obamacare where we lost competition and health care.
Starting point is 00:09:42 And they've been riding this into power. And the Islamists now, I'll say it is a perfect example of somebody who has embodied both of those, which is the Islamism as he rode with care and the Islamic Society of North America in and as he wrote the book on Medicare for all. They ride economic dependency along with political Islam and theocracy and do it in America and a DEI program where Islam isn't an ideology, it becomes a race. And they ride that wave in. And next thing you know, they're in power and they take away the rest of our rights. And so what does that mean for everybody following them per se? I mean, is it, you know, what is it that people are, I mean, how could they be duped by this?
Starting point is 00:10:27 Why do you think that that's actually happening? It has to do with, you know, suicidal empathy, as many have talked about. It has to do with a sense of somehow we are to blame for everything rather than celebrating the beauty and the individualism of America, where we have an American dream that our families came to embrace economic independence, economic freedom, the beauty of competition. They don't want that. They want handouts. The left wants to basically. not only control the table, but destroy the table so that it becomes globalism,
Starting point is 00:11:03 where America is a post-American society rather than an Americanism exceptionalism. So this is why, if you look, Shadi Hamid at Brookings, funded by Qatar, wrote a book called Islamic exceptionalism. And I've been trying to debate him for over a decade, and he won't do it, because they believe that the only thing exceptional is Islamist Theocracy. while I believe American exceptionalism is the only thing I would die for, which is why I served in the Navy. I would never die for my faith because I don't believe God needs me to die for him. That's a personal relationship.
Starting point is 00:11:38 But my country does because my wife and I are three kids. If we don't leave a country behind, which is why I'm running for Congress, is if I don't leave a country behind that embraces and protects this constitution for that 80% in America that really care about the America we're going to leave behind, the progressivists and the Islamists are going to destroy that table, that constitution, and make it meaningless. Well, I know this has been your passion. You've been working on it for years as long as I've known you, Dr. Jasser. And it's great to see you running for office. You can go to Z4AZ.com to learn more about Dr. Jasser and all that he's doing and leading this reform. It's been an important movement. Again, as long as I've known you, which is going back some time. You say you started this actually right after 9-11, right? Yep, after 9-11, we formed a foundation to counter political Islam, the Islamic State concept.
Starting point is 00:12:30 So you're like up against care. Yeah, exactly. We've provided not only an alternative to care, but a pathway for an offense, which is we've been playing defense. We need an offense, which is why we need a firewall in Congress. Now you've not only have Ilhan Omar, Rashida, Tlave, you've got three more Islamists, Aisha Wahab taken over Swalwell's seat. So Swalwell's seat went from a CCP seat. to now being an Islamist seat who is a Taliban sympathizer, Adam Hamoui in New Jersey, the former blind
Starting point is 00:12:59 Sheikhs translator and Andre Carson, so many others that are Islamists in Congress. We need a firewall against them because if I'm in there, we can immediately tell them, you know what, it's not about Muslim identity, it's about a theocratic ideology that's incompatible with being American. They shouldn't even have security clearances to be tour guides at government facilities, let alone be in Congress. I know, which is what cracked me up about the whole, you know, I shouldn't say it cracked me up, but I'm like, are you guys serious? You actually want to get a warning before we go in and bomb Iran? Do you know how long that would have lasted? Our advantage would have lasted. You're a former member of the military. Lieutenant, right, in the, in the Navy, I mean, for goodness sakes, that would have actually been putting American lives at risk.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Exactly. They really want to deconstruct. That's why the DSA is in the process of taking over the Democrat Party because if you look at their their list of goals, it's to take apart the Senate, is to end the military leadership of our president. All of the separation of powers that exists in our constitutional republic that has been so successful, they want to dismantle, no different than the Islamists want to dismantle. So hopefully America will wake up and we can get away from the siops that are these fake polls everywhere. And I think you're going to be surprised on what happens on November 3rd.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I hope so. I've said that. I'm like, everybody like, keep up hope because, look, stranger things have happened. I remember 2016 quite vividly. Zudy Jasser, thank you so much. Z4AZ Arizona.com. Appreciate you joining us today. We'll have you back soon. Good luck there. Anytime. Thanks, Trish. God bless. Appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah. He's just such, and I promised you guys for a while. I'm like, we've got to get Zudian. We got to get Zudian. And today felt like a day when we should really have Zudian. Because, again, you know, everything he's talking about we've known about for some time. Think about Iran smuggling all of these so-called agents as it was reported by the telegraph just a couple months ago. Over the summer, they were reporting that, hey, Tehran is boasting of this. They're going to do
Starting point is 00:15:04 bad news. And then what happens in the early morning of Sunday, you know, around 1 a.m., you get three vans rolling up to the edge of RAF Fairford, which is that British base that the U.S. is using. It's where we're launching all those American B-1 bombers against Iran and armed police arrested five British men in their 20s. Okay, so they're British. I get it. They're British. But they've been indoctrinated in ways that Zootie was just telling us about, okay? And so they're out there ready to commit heinous, heinous acts, or at least stage some heinous acts, because I think this was a dry run. And the next thing you know, they get to empty out 85 homes. They've got bomb robots going through. I mean, they let the guys go.
Starting point is 00:15:52 I'm just blown away. I'm like the UK. They just don't get it, right? They can't get this through their head that they are sitting ducks. And now Andy Burns, big news is, oh, yeah, there are strong indications that Iran played a part. Iran, as they said, they're denying it. Police found the petrol, not a bomb. And you heard Nigel Farage say that he thinks that this was a dry run and that they were deliberately calling when they did.
Starting point is 00:16:18 See, you know, you just can't keep bringing everybody in one hour. after another. You can't bring them in without vetting them. It is why we locked this border down. It's why we have to keep locking this border down. And I'll tell you, if the UK can't get it together, we're not going to be able to have this, you know, hunky-dory relationship with them either, or any of the Europeans or the Canadians or anywhere else. I mean, you know, you're able to travel so freely back and forth, and we love that. And that's a great privilege. But for goodness sakes, if you can't keep an eye on who's in your country, then how are we going to be enabling or allowing for this kind of travel. Marco Rubio here saying, look, you know, it's important to think
Starting point is 00:16:58 about, and I stress this, it's important to think about who you're bringing in, how you're bringing them in, whether you should be bringing them in. This was a pretty brilliant quote. I want to go back to Marco, who, look, you know, the polls are showing he could be the next thing. We'll see. I mean, J.D. Vance, I think, wants in, but Marco Rubio is waiting in the wings, and he'd be great. We've all seen the images, for example, of what's happening in Spain. The truth is this, whether it's in Europe or in the Western Hemisphere, the United States, or whatever it may be, no country, no country in the world that's responsible, governed by responsible people, can allow their borders to just be open and allow anyone that wants to come in to flood in.
Starting point is 00:17:36 You can't flood countries with migration. You know, this is a country that was built on immigration. And immigration has to happen through an orderly process in which you get to decide who comes in, you know a lot about them, and you pick and choose how many people who are. who and how many people can come in every single year. This is proper migration, proper immigration. What we have seen in the broader West, and what we saw in the United States during the previous administration,
Starting point is 00:17:58 is an uncontrolled flood of people coming in. It's what analogy I've always used is, I'm not against rain. I'm against flooding. And that's what I would say about immigration and mass migration. Mass migration is terribly costly for any society. It's simply not sustainable over the long term. I think countries in Europe are learning that now. The United States learned that after four years under the Biden.
Starting point is 00:18:18 administration, and I think other countries in our own hemisphere, are dealing with some of this as well. Yeah, you bet we are. Okay? We are. I mean, Canada is, for goodness sakes. And so nobody's actually thinking about what the ramifications of all of this are. And it's becoming a really big problem. Case in point, what we're seeing in the UK right now. The UK just announced hours after it went through this ordeal with Fairford, guess what? We are opening up in ways that we never did before. We haven't opened up like this in what? Two years. Meanwhile, you know, there's these memes going around the internet where they're joking about the president. President Trump's looking out the window and say, hey, you know, what kind of third world country is this? And somebody saying, oh, that's the UK, sir,
Starting point is 00:19:06 right? Because that's how it feels these days when you go to the UK as they bring more and more people in despite all of these threats. They announced this week they got a resettlement scheme. Their word choice, not mine, but I think it's rather appropriate, don't you? The resettlement scheme announced by Shabana Mahoub. So Ms. Mahub has decided she's just going to bring in all kinds of legal refugees and we're going to open up the spigot once again because, you know, we didn't get enough up until 2024. This is the problem with having Andy Berm there. Okay? This is the problem. It's a complete takeover. Let's go to Ms. Shammood talking about her grand plan. We can announce today that from next month, we will begin accepting applications from charities
Starting point is 00:19:51 and non-profits to sponsor refugees through our new safe and legal routes. They're all crazy. I mean, they're really, truly. These are crazy people that have some kind of death wish, I think. But, you know, in her case, maybe she feels, I mean, she's clearly British, right? she speaks with a very proper British accent, is she feel more allegiance to the people that she wants to bring in as opposed to the people in Great Britain? I mean, one of the great things about America, and you heard it from Zudi,
Starting point is 00:20:23 one of the great things about this country is that you can come from anywhere, and as long as you're willing to be American, right, and adapt to American values and American theocracy, as he was saying, I mean, capitalism is good. All of this stuff, then we welcome you, no matter who you are.
Starting point is 00:20:39 You know, I look over at the UK, And for whatever reason, you know, you've got a team of people that just are very hell-bent on bringing everybody else into the country. And if the people don't speak up about this like that British anchor, Alex Phillips I told you about, then you're going to have more and more of it. Here's another story. This just came out, of course, this week to our police investigate Iran-link in suspected RAF base bomb plot. But they let everyone go. They let everyone go. And now they're saying we're bringing more and more and more in.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Why? Why? Let's go back to Talk TV because Alex said it well, you know, you guys got to come up with a plan because people aren't feeling too happy about this. Buck stops with you, Defense Secretary. I want to hear a concrete plan and I want to hear you say, admit that people coming into the country illegally are a security risk and then do something about it. Yeah, do something. Okay, but he's never going to say that. You see? He's never going to say that because the woman who's in charge of the whole resettlement program that he handpicked is all about bringing more and more and more people in. I mean, it's really, really nutty stuff. And just to kind of give you some idea on what she's planning to do and what the UK government is planning to do, she is the home secretary against Shabana Mahou.
Starting point is 00:22:04 And she announced that, guess what? Big news. We got a scheme. The resettlement scheme. It's easy to remember, scheme that it is. They're basically going to take on the first new, they home referrals since December of 2024. So the program has been on hiatus for a while.
Starting point is 00:22:25 And now all of a sudden they're going to work with the UN. Oh, the UN. And the International Refugee Assistance Project, someone getting payback here? Like, are her buddies getting a payday out of this? I'm just wondering. Like, what is the incentive to do this? The first arrivals are expected before the end of 2026 this year.
Starting point is 00:22:44 Local authorities are going to be involved in the resettling of people and the placing of people. The government says around a quarter the referrals are expected to be Afghan women and girls and Palestinian refugees. Okay, so we're bringing in Afghan women and girls and Palestinian refugees. Does it count if you're like trans? Like could you say, hey, I'm a girl? I feel like a girl today. I digress and I shouldn't joke about it. Although I really wonder, like, would it count?
Starting point is 00:23:16 I mean, because there might be some guys in Palestine or in Afghanistan that would take that trade. They could put on a wig and some lipstick for a day and say, hey, I feel like a girl. Officials describe the program as safe and legal for people fleeing war, not necessarily for the people that are going to be receiving them there in the UK, but for the refugees. that are fleeing the war, and they claim to have expanded these routes in order to reduce. They say it's going to reduce small boat crossings. I think it sends the wrong signal.
Starting point is 00:23:54 I'm just, I'm going to go out on a limb. Having lived through the four years with Joe Biden in office, you with me, he sent the signal that, you know, we're really happy to have everybody. And the next thing you knew, you had the worst invasion at the border that we have ever seen. So millions of millions of people came because they knew they couldn't get turned away. And it's kind of similar to what we're seeing now in the UK. Like, why does the UK have to take anyone? Seriously, if you're going to look out for the UK first, and you should,
Starting point is 00:24:26 why do you need to take anyone? Why do we need to take anyone? We don't. That's the easy answer. And for everybody says, oh, you know, we got here because of immigration. And, you know, we are the country. We are because of immigration. Sure.
Starting point is 00:24:38 Okay. But right now we get something else kind of bigger going on, right? we're at war with Iran, and Iran is trying desperately to seed its people in our country, in the UK, in all of Europe. So, you know, if you're smart and you're interested in self-preservation, you're probably going to start thinking about some of this stuff quite differently. And I think it's high time that we actually see that. I mean, here they are. They're going to work with universities, I guess. They're going to work with community groups and charities. Like I said, somebody's getting a payday out of this, somebody's getting a payday, to sponsor refugees.
Starting point is 00:25:15 And universities are able to sponsor refugee students. And a work employer sponsorship route is apparently going to be made available. Ms. Mahmhm, Mahmoud, however you say her name, has framed this entire scheme as something that will help them live up to international standards. Here's what I'm going to say to hell with international standards, okay? to hell with them. You know, you guys, you get some standards of your own you ought to try and live up to. It's high time you kind of meet the needs of the British people, like we have been trying to meet the needs of the American people.
Starting point is 00:25:54 A lot of thanks we get for that, right? Look at what's going on with midterms, they'll tell you. Iran is out with a new newsletter, and Iran is calling on Americans to vote for Democrats. Now, if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about the Democrats right about now, I don't know what else does. Because when I see this, and historically, right, what have they loved to say, death to America, death to America, death to America?
Starting point is 00:26:20 And they shout it from the rooftops. Well, now it is not death to America, but vote Democrat, vote Democrat, vote Democrat. Iran is telling you to vote Democrat. Like, if that doesn't get you to the polls in November, I don't know what does, because, like, I will just go. Well, I was going to go anyway. You know that. I never not vote.
Starting point is 00:26:38 If your neighbor says they weren't going to, you remind them, okay? Iran wants you to sit home. Iran wants for you to not vote if you're going to vote Republican. I got to say, you know, Brennan Gill, he's on to something because he kind of like Zuti. You know, I should have asked Zudy what he thinks of Brandon because I guarantee you, Zudy wants no Sharia law, none of that here in the U.S. of A. we are governed by our American principles and our Constitution. But Brennan Gill has come out swinging repeatedly. He is the junior congressman from Texas,
Starting point is 00:27:18 who I think has a good shot of being president one day. I'm just saying maybe I'm a little bit biased because I like his parents. But anyway, Brandon Gill here, his in-laws, his in-laws, I should say, his mother-in-law and his father-in-law. Here's Brandon talking about how the Democrat Party is really just hating on Trump, much like Iran, right? I see the similarities. There are two things that unify the Democratic Party right now. The first thing, I think, is a deep loathing for America, for its founding principles, for its culture, its history, and especially its people. And secondly, I think is a deep, visceral blood-curdling hatred for Donald Trump. You can't turn on MSNBC or CNN for more than five seconds before you hear some deranged left-wing lunatic screaming Donald Trump's name, blaming him. Blame
Starting point is 00:28:06 for everything wrong under the sun, never giving him credit for a single thing that he's accomplished already in just less than two years of this administration. That is what unifies this party. They don't have anything to put forward other than socialism and hatred for President Trump. Yeah, that's it, right? Socialism and hatred for President Trump. So if you're with Iran, go for it. vote for the Democrats. Iran will be very happy. If you stand with America, you have a patriotic duty
Starting point is 00:28:46 to vote a Republican. Please remember to tell your friends. We're here live every afternoon. Make a comment. I do read them all after the fact. We always pin the show to the top of the channel, and I'll see you tomorrow.
