Welcome to The Ultimate Blog Podcast. Hey, welcome back. Today I am here solo to do an episode that's going to kind of take it back to the beginning.
Starting point is 00:00:43 And when I was doing the research for this episode, deciding what I wanted to share with you, it's more of a pep talk today. And if you're a member of our roadmap community, then you know that I'm always up for a good pep talk. and I just felt like today that was needed and you might have hit play today hoping for that and that's what you're going to get. And even if you don't think you need it, I hope that this is a reminder that your voice does matter. It matters more than any system, any strategy that we could teach you here. And sometimes what we need to do is just lean in and we need to refocus on the why behind blogging. Behind that blog that you're working so hard on, like what is the why?
Starting point is 00:01:28 I want to encourage you to just keep showing up. It might feel imperfect, but I want you to do it in an authentic way that feels right for you. I think going back to the heart of blogging is really important. I think that having that shift and that refocus on occasion is necessary. I think it's needed. And I think that it is something that we can use to our benefit when we might feel like we're stuck or the strategies or the algorithms aren't going in the way that we're we're we want them to. And we can lose sight of why we started this whole thing in the beginning and what we truly wanted to do with it. Like, what is that? And so I want to take just a moment and I want to allow you some time to just think about that, whether you hit pause on this
Starting point is 00:02:17 episode right now. And I want you just to like sit with yourself and your thoughts. And I want you to go back to the beginning or maybe you're at the beginning. And I want you to really connect with your why. And I want you to ask yourself, why did I want to do this or why do I want to do this? So I'm going to give you just a couple moments to just kind of think about that. Okay. You might have pause if you didn't. That's okay. I might be driving or something like that. But I really do want you to think about that because I think it's very, very easy in the world of strategies and trends and you need to do this. this is what works and this is the algorithm shift and it can get so exhausting. It can get so
Starting point is 00:03:04 overwhelming. And I just want to truly remind you that your voice, your story, your perspective, it matters. It truly, truly matters. And don't lose sight of that when you open up Google analytics and it might not look the way you want it to. Blogging is about so much more than traffic. It's about so much more than the money that you're making, and it's about more than SEO. It's about more than a follower account. It is about connecting with that why that you were just reflecting on your story and your purpose. What is the ultimate goal? What are you trying to achieve here?
Starting point is 00:03:46 Why did you decide to do this? Why are you sitting down at your computer and pouring your heart and soul into this? This is so much more than about creating content. Blogging is truly about creating confidence within yourself to understand that you can do the hard thing. You are fully capable. You have everything inside you that it takes. It's already there.
Starting point is 00:04:10 You just have to tap into it. You have to remind yourself that anything you want to do is within your reach, but you just have to have the confidence to keep putting one foot in front of the other. There have been so many times in the roadmap that we have walked to this journey with women and seeing the impact that they've been able to make via their blogs and how they are helping others, how they are encouraging others, how they are providing a solution for something that they once felt maybe was unattainable. And this doesn't have to be like some big emotional thing either. It can be something as simple as getting dinner
Starting point is 00:04:46 on the table or a workout or how to refinish furniture or how to plan a family trip. watching them go from like the beginning like when they join us and then watching them blossom and grow into this this actual blogger like they're actually blogging is such an incredible shift and I want to tell you that we have seen so many different to kinds of women join our community that have all come with this basically kind of the same intention of like I have this dream inside my heart of something I want to share but I'm not really sure how and then we're able to encourage them and walk alongside them and provide them the tools and resources was within the roadmap, that they begin to believe in themselves again.
Starting point is 00:05:28 And in that believing in themselves again, it's really amazing to watch that shift happen. And then there is a point, I think, with most bloggers that we reach, that you ask yourself the question is like, is this working? Am I doing this the right way? Is this what I should be doing? Maybe I should be doing this instead. And I want to tell you that those questions are valid and those questions are necessary for growth. you should be assessing where you are. You should be assessing the thoughts you're having.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I think that is a really healthy way to assess to make sure that you are still in alignment with where you think you should be and where you feel in your heart that you should be too. And that is, that comes from a place of, is this still working in a way that is in alignment and in a way that is actually working? Those are really important conversations to have with yourself, whether that needs to be data driven, whether that needs to be, like you sit down and do a time inventory, whether that is via a task or something that you are doing, asking yourself, like, what I'm doing is it working,
Starting point is 00:06:32 you know, is it currently working? And allowing yourself to just sit with that and have that be part of the process of this blogging journey, kind of like what I asked you to do in the beginning and connect with that. Why? Ask yourself why you're doing certain things in your business. Are you doing it because everybody else is doing it? Are you doing it because that's what somebody told you to do, but it's not really working? Are you doing it because it's something that you think you should do, but you actually hate doing? I want to talk about the heart of that. I could sit here all day and tell you about strategy. I could share with you a million different podcast episodes about strategy. But at the end of the day, if you're not enjoying what you're doing, or if what you're doing isn't working,
Starting point is 00:07:09 then you need to get to the heart of why. You need to understand why. And I truly do want you to connect with that. You're not going to be perfect at this journey. from the get-go. Realize that your first posts, they're not going to be perfect. The first draft of your blog is not going to be perfect. It's going to evolve. It is going to change. You are going to evolve. You are going to change. That is a beautiful part of the process, truly. You're going to learn so much about yourself on this journey with blogging. Be willing to learn about yourself on this journey. Be willing to evolve. Be willing to evolve. Be willing to evolve. Be willing to let go of things when it's time to let go of them.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Imperfection and growth and learning is all part of this process of blogging. But as long as you're reconnecting to the why, as long as you're keeping your eye on that, why are you doing it? Why are you putting time and effort and energy into this? Why do you want to help people? Why do you want to encourage others? Why are you spending your free time doing this and truly understanding the bigger picture you will begin to realize that your impact is far greater than any amount of money that could ever be
Starting point is 00:08:27 deposited into your bank account. It has no correlation with the follower account on your social media accounts. And it doesn't mean anything in regards to traffic. Because if you know that you're even making impact with one person, that's pretty incredible when you think about it. like as a new blogger I think sometimes we like say well I only have like 20 people on my blog today or like that's what my traffic says or 50 people or whatever and I want you to picture like 20 people in a crowd and imagine just like being able to talk to them that's what you're doing don't lose sight of those small numbers in the beginning those numbers will grow and then they will go down again and then they will grow again that's just the nature of it and
Starting point is 00:09:14 but when you stay aligned with your why, with the heart behind your story, your journey, your passion, and your purpose, I promise you that that's where you will find the joy in this journey. Don't get so wrapped up in the strategy that you lose sight of all the lessons along the way and that you forget why you're doing it in the first place. I hope this encouraged you. I'm not going to give any strategy today. My only, like, CTA today would be to publish something.
Starting point is 00:09:53 It doesn't need to be perfect, but have it reconnect with the why behind that person who started this blog or is starting the blog, but have a connect to that person. Have it be purposeful, have it be intentional, and have it be grounded in who you are and who you're inspiring others to be or what you're inspiring others to do. And just another reminder, blogging is about so much more than just creating content. Anybody can create content.
Starting point is 00:10:31 We can create content all day long. We want to create confidence in each other and in the people who are showing up on our websites and learning and growing alongside with us in the communities that we are a part of. And I want to remind you that you can do it. Your why is important. And when it gets tough and when it gets hard and when we feel like the odds are stacked
Starting point is 00:10:53 against us, I just hope that you will click play on this episode again and remind yourself that you do have everything that it takes and that the heart of why you're doing it matters. Be willing to shift, be willing to pivot if necessary. But always stay in alignment with the heart of your why and why you're doing this. Thanks for tuning in today. I hope it encouraged you. If you need a pep talk every once in a while, I am notorious for them within the ultimate blog roadmap and can do so on a much more personal level in there.
