Welcome to The Ultimate Blog Podcast. This week on The Ultimate Blog Podcast, we are really excited to share Jackie with you from Interact. We met Jackie when we went to the ConvertKit conference back in June, and we actually attended her live session
Starting point is 00:01:54 about using quizzes to build your email list. And I love an opportunity that we have to be more interactive and really give you guys some tangible ideas that you can do to whether it's building a part of your business or monetizing and that's exactly what we're gonna do today with Jackie from interact so Jackie welcome to the ultimate blog podcast thank you so much for having me yeah it was so great to connect with you at the conference anytime that we can go to a
Starting point is 00:02:24 conference we always love to. It's so awesome just to be able to meet people face to face and also sit in rooms with people. And your session that you did at the conference was very interactive. We actually created a quiz that we could use to grow our email list. And when we were in the session, I remember looking at Jennifer and saying, this is something that I really think that can really help people because quizzes are pretty easy. People kind of want to know like, oh, what am I going to rate here? What am I going to get? And so this is kind of a fun and exciting way to do that. So let's just kick it off with that.
Starting point is 00:02:58 So tell us a little bit about Interact and the quizzes that you guys have and how that is built for bloggers. Yeah, so that's exactly why quizzes convert so well. Our quizzes average a 40% conversion rate, which is if 10 people go onto your website, that's four of those people subscribing and getting onto your email list. So you can see the effect, especially as you grow your traffic, how many people you can really grow your list by. But the reason quizzes are so fun, the reason people really enjoy taking them
Starting point is 00:03:26 is because it honestly offers a personalized answer or solution to whatever your quiz topic is on, right? So what type of blog should you start? Where should you travel? How healthy are you, right? Those are things that as we're scrolling through social media, as we're looking at different blog posts, we don't have to, I mean, first you could stop the scroll, right? Like I want to know
Starting point is 00:03:47 more about myself in that area, especially personality quizzes, like which friends, character are you actually like is a very popular one, right? But you can go with like things like that where it literally will stop your scroll and you just want to know, you get to answer a few questions, talk about yourself, and then you're told more about yourself too. What makes you tick? How to solve this problem that you're specifically looking for, right? That sort of varies, like the information I get at the end of my quiz based on what your business goal is. But I think for bloggers, what's really cool, what you can do with quizzes is, A, have an evergreen quiz that maybe helps people with a general topic that you discussed, like where should
Starting point is 00:04:23 you travel, for example. But then maybe you also have different blog posts that are like traveling within Europe, traveling within Africa. And then on that blog post, it's which trail should you take in Yellowstone? Wow, it just went from Africa and Europe to get back to the US. But you know, like, you know, which trail should you hike in Yellowstone or where should you visit in Europe in the winter? Which safari should you take while in Africa? And rather than having everybody read through your blog posts, it's a really engaging way for them to be able to tell you, hey, this is what I like. This is how I prefer to travel or whatever your topic is on. And then you're recommending a personal solution for them. So that's the benefit for the quiz taker.
Starting point is 00:05:02 The benefit for you is not only just growing your email list, but you get all of that data, zero party data about the person who has just subscribed. You know how they like to travel, what their preferences are, what they're probably looking for, what their needs are, specific problems that they might be having. And then you can address that in your email campaigns through sending different blog posts, which will help with your traffic and page views SEO, right? Probably sending affiliate links. If you do that, hey, check out this gear. If you're going on Safari, this is what you're going to need.
Starting point is 00:05:33 And so you can really tailor and pinpoint messages to the right people at the right time based on what they've told you in your quiz. So it really is like this broad way of getting a clear understanding of who is actually engaging with your content, too It gives you that that capacity to be able to really understand who is coming and how can I offer them a better user experience? Totally and with the quiz analytics that you see with an interact it gives you a great idea of like market research, right? So are there topics that people want to know more about that you're not currently blogging on? Write blogs about that. Or are there emails or affiliate links, like resources or I guess like specific products that people might need that you're not talking about? Get those affiliate links and put them
Starting point is 00:06:20 in the blogs that you have because people are telling you and you can see like an actual percent breakdown of, hey, 50% of your audience is answering this specific way or landing on this specific trailhead, right? Or this specific destination. Talk more about that because that's going to grow not just your email list, but your business, both in sales and traffic because you're giving people what they want. So when somebody is answering the questions, is there a way that you can tag them in your email marketing software so that you could potentially even send them different messaging depending on the types of answers that they give you?
Starting point is 00:06:57 Yes, totally. And so we have a direct integration with most email systems. So ConvertKit, MailerLite, MailChimp, Flodesk. And so yes, it works exactly like that, Jennifer, where if I tell you, hey, I'm answering, I don't know, option A versus option B, you can tag them. You can trigger a specific workflow or a specific sequence. You can send different newsletters based on those tags. You can also tag people based on the way
Starting point is 00:07:22 or segment people based on the outcome or final result that they get. So if it doesn't necessarily matter for you the specific question that they're answering, but rather, hey, they got this result. They're a new blogger versus an experienced blogger. They're a new traveler versus an experienced traveler. You can speak to those very different people in very different ways that relate to them. So you're really building a relationship and a connection with them before you're actually emailing them anything, which you can't do with most other opt-ins.
Starting point is 00:07:50 So you said something there that kind of triggered a thought. So what about somebody who's a brand new blogger who might not have a lot of content on their blog yet? Is this something that they could utilize as well by adding a quiz that they could take in order to help grow their email list? And what would be some ideas of things that they could do? Because somebody who doesn't have a ton of content
Starting point is 00:08:09 yet on their blog, how would you recommend that they go about creating that content for a quiz in order to convert people over onto their email list? Yeah, it could be a fun quiz, like trivia style, right? Just to start engaging with people and seeing how they're responding and what they're saying. But you can also do things like look up specific keywords. So that's what you're doing with your blogs, most likely anyways, looking for keywords
Starting point is 00:08:33 that you're wanting to target that you can rank for. But instead of necessarily, or I guess, in addition to writing that blog post, we have a tool called interact AI, where you can literally plug in the blog posts, and it will make a quiz for you based on that. So it's an additional way for you to grow, again, engagement for people that are finding it. But also think of how many people type into Google a specific question. That's a longer tail keyword
Starting point is 00:08:58 which are usually easier to rank for. And so if that's literally your quiz title, people are gonna search this thing because that's what they want to know. Where should I travel? Let's go with that example. And then that's probably not easy to rank for, but let's pretend it is. If you're asking that specific question and that's your quiz title, it's going to surface in Google. They're going to click it and then there you go. You're growing your email list right away and also traffic to your blog because it's taking them to the specific page.
Starting point is 00:09:29 And the other thing I'll say is probably you have a niche or at least some topic of interest that you're blogging about when you first get started by using a quiz. You can ask things like, again, I'm totally making this up, but hey, are you a parent, do you have kids? Right? So if you're traveling with kids, you might want to, and you see, Hey, a big segment of your audience is answering in that way. There's a whole different set of blogs. You can start writing on what that looks like versus solo travel versus group travel or whatever, again, your niche or topic might be on.
Starting point is 00:09:53 And when you know, hey, people are interested in learning more about traveling with kids, link them to after they, hey, this is your quiz result, link them to blogs that would support them in those areas. So you're not just keeping them on the one blog and getting them to subscribe and only engaging through emails, but you're also growing page views and traffic views by sending them to other posts that you have as well and finding new topics to write about all at the same time. Oh yeah, I didn't realize how comprehensive this could be. And especially like you said, even trying to rank for specific keywords for your quiz. So that made me think about the logistics of where is this quiz housed? What does it look like?
Starting point is 00:10:30 Are you sharing it or are you embedding it on like a blog post? Can you talk a little bit about what that looks like? Yeah, it could be all of the above. So typically I would say you want people to go to your website, so embed it on your website, have it as a pop-up or an announcement bar on your website so they can find it. If you're using one like general topic quiz, I don't know, again, we'll go with the where should you travel. Then maybe that could come as a pop-up
Starting point is 00:10:54 on all of your different blog posts or blog posts that are specific to travel versus something else that you might be writing about. You can also use multiple quizzes that, hey, I want this quiz to be about specific trail heads if you're traveling to Europe or somewhere, a specific destination. That quiz you can set to only appear on those blogs, whereas the different blogs could have a different set of quizzes on it, right? But then also people will find you through social media.
Starting point is 00:11:20 They won't necessarily know your website exists. So posting your quiz on socials as a way to bring them over to your website and as a way to get them into your email list is a great way to promote your quiz as well. I would recommend sharing your quiz wherever it is that your ideal customer hangs out. So I know we're talking to a group of bloggers right now. I would really focus on that keyword research of what are people looking for, how are they finding your site and focus on a quiz or quizzes that relate to that. But if you're finding that a whole bunch of people find you through Instagram and then make their way over to your blog, absolutely share your quiz on Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, again, wherever it is that your
Starting point is 00:11:59 ideal customer would be online. And actually I'll say this too, because we did a podcast episode with specifically a travel blogger who, and this is where I think I keep coming up with this trailhead quiz, because he has one, which river cruise should you take, they do a lot of traveling themselves so that they can recommend the right river cruises to people. And so you don't have to just share your quiz online. Think about the cafes, the co-working spaces,
Starting point is 00:12:23 the hostels or hotels and lodging options that have those community boards, right? Where you could just pop a QR code in there where people can scan it and then they can take your quiz and then find you online. So there's also ways to share your quiz. If you have a business card, right, there's also ways to share your quiz in real life and not just online. There's lots of options. But again, think about where is it that you're running into this ideal customer and get it in front of them in that way. I think that is a really good tip because I think that we are in a day and age that we have to almost kind of like go backwards a little bit and consider outside the box
Starting point is 00:12:59 a way to tell people about what we're sharing online. More and more people are blogging and blogging is definitely not dead and it's, but the voices are just louder, obviously. So I love that you gave that example of putting it on a QR code. You know, I'm thinking of like Starbucks or something, how they always have those community boards up or a gym or something like that
Starting point is 00:13:18 as a way for people to interact with you in your content. And that's also something, especially if you're like a local blogger, let's say, I have a couple of people in mind. We live in Kansas City. So I have a couple of people in mind to are more like in the health and fitness space or the fashion space, like thinking about how they could put their things up
Starting point is 00:13:37 like boutiques and different things to connect with people on a local level too. Because I think that level of individuality and being able to actually connect with people face to face is becoming important too. So I don't know. I just love that you shared that because that is an idea that I had not had before as a way to use the quiz. So that's a really good idea. Yeah. I think it's something that we don't always think about. And when I was talking to Ron, this travel blogger who did this with the trailhead idea, he was like, oh my gosh, like, why didn't I think of that? I run into so many people in my everyday life in coffee shops and restaurants that we like and people like them. So why wouldn't
Starting point is 00:14:12 they want to take your recommendation? And even more so when you give them the quiz and you're not just like, Hey, take this trailhead, right? It's like, I'm actually interested in your interests, what you have to say before I actually recommend anything. So it's a really great way again to make connections with people before you even start emailing them. Let's talk a little bit about the quiz creation. This was something that before I came to the presentation, I was like, I have no idea how this is going to pull anything up. Like I was very, very confused about about am I going to have to know all the answers to my own quiz? And so I would love for you to talk a little bit
Starting point is 00:14:49 about that, like how somebody can have this idea and then how they break down the questions and how do they come up with the answers and all that. Can you give people any kind of reasoning for how that is all comprised? Yeah, totally. I'm going to scare everybody a little bit first, but hang with me because I have a really easy solution for you at the end. When I started with Interact about three or four years ago, I led a cohort group coaching where
Starting point is 00:15:12 we would go through five weeks of putting that quiz together, coming up with your quiz title, focusing on where do we want to send them, what are your quiz results, what questions do you need to ask to get them to the right result. There's logic within Interact that's super easy to connect. So they get to the right, the result that you want them to have. And then how do you connect that with your email system, publish and let it go live? So all of that took five weeks and probably half of the people that we went through group
Starting point is 00:15:39 coaching with me didn't even finish the quiz within five weeks. And so I say all this because when I started at Interact, that was the, your question Amy is the exact thing that we would get all the time is I don't know what to make my quiz about. I don't know where to get started. It feels really hard and it's going to take a long time that I don't have to do this. It sounds great, but I just don't have the time or the bandwidth. And so with Chat GPT coming out at the end of 2022, we focused almost all of last year on building our newest feature, Interact AI. And it's literally a plug and play model.
Starting point is 00:16:11 So again, don't even get scared because you're not using ChatGPT. It's literally a form or if you will, a quiz on our website where you're putting in your website, you're putting in a blog post if you wanna make a quiz specific to that. And we, or not even me, AI, Interact AI will make the entire quiz for you. It is a super easy and super fast, great way to get started with
Starting point is 00:16:31 what are even some quiz ideas that you want, because that's the first thing it will do. You give it some copy, write your website, a blog post, you guide it a little bit with what does your business do and what problem do you help your customer solve. And you can change that up based on specific blogs or your overall business, depending on your goals. You can try it a bunch of times as well. And then, in our day, I will actually recommend a few quiz titles for you. I'm always a fan of using a quiz that is like the number one question you always get asked.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Because if somebody is on your website and they're wondering this or they're typing it into Google and it's that low ranking keyword that you can hit, right? Then people are going to want to take that quiz and subscribe and learn more from you because you truly get them. And so all that to say, I would go to use the Interact AI tool. It'll make a quiz for you in about a minute, literally by you just telling it a little bit more about your business. All of the questions are put together. All of the logic is set up to get people to the right results.
Starting point is 00:17:28 You can tell Interact AI, hey, let's go back to that Trailhead example, right? I want to list these specific four hikes because I've taken them and this is what I wanna recommend. AI will do that, or rather Interact AI will build the quiz in that way, but set up all the logic,
Starting point is 00:17:42 ask all the right questions to get people to the right spot. Once that is built for you, literally in the matter of minutes, and Amy and Jennifer, that's what you saw in our session at ConvertKit's conference. Once that's built for you, you can customize anything in your account. Maybe you want to add like a, I call it segmentation question, but essentially what I mean is a way to gather a little bit extra data about your people, right? For example, if you want to know if people have kids or not, how are they traveling, right? Like with family, alone, etc. And that's not a question that AI includes. You can add that in so that you can tag them that way
Starting point is 00:18:16 or just do a bit of market research of, oh wow, I didn't realize I was talking to an audience with families versus an audience that were solo travelers or digital nomads or something else. Are you looking for a fun and interactive way to engage your audience while also generating leads? Let us introduce you to Interact. Starting point is 00:19:37 I think it's so important to know who we're talking to. And so I just, I love this level of being able to really figure that out because sometimes we think that we know who our audiences or who's actually reading our posts. And Jennifer and I use this example a lot of like sending out surveys. And several years ago, Jennifer sent out a survey, she has a slow cooker blog, and she sent out a survey thinking that she was talking to people who were like families who were like trying to get dinner on the table. And what she found out is a lot of people who back then were reading her blog were like two people. And she's like, well, that is not what I thought. That is not who I thought I was talking to. But unless you ask those questions, you don't really know. And sometimes
Starting point is 00:20:23 as a blogger, it can feel like, why is my traffic not growing? Why am I not able to reach the people that I think are coming onto my site and things? And this is a really good way. I mean, this goes so much farther than just adding somebody on your email list. This is also understanding who you're talking to so you can understand their pain points, so you can understand how you can better serve them, so you can give them a better user experience on your blog and that's going to keep them coming back. I mean, I just think it gives you really important data to continue serving the people who are coming and keeping them engaged and keeping them on there.
Starting point is 00:20:57 So I love the idea that you can use AI obviously to save yourself five weeks because that is a long time. And so, yeah, it gives you a more targeted approach for what you're doing. And I think oftentimes, we do feel like we're spinning our wheels or whatever we're doing is not being effective for whatever reason. And so having this data at the front end can be extremely helpful. And like you said, time saving too. I just think it's looking at this on a broader scope versus just building your email list. Think about this as like really truly getting to know who
Starting point is 00:21:31 you're talking to and how you can serve them. Yeah and I'll just say to this because we're adding in so many different things you can do with quizzes. I think that's like my number one problem at work is I can be too overwhelming with but look at all of the things that quizzes can do for you, right? And so what I would encourage everybody listening to do is start with Interact AI. Make one quiz. Just start with one.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Some people are like, I have five quiz ideas. That's great. But just do one and get it launched. And don't try to make it perfect. It doesn't have to segment everybody in every single way possible to start. You don't have to have different newsletters or different email sequences for every single person
Starting point is 00:22:07 taking your quiz or every outcome that your quiz might have. Start simple, launch it, see how people are responding. You may be pleasantly surprised, like you were saying in Jannefer's blog, you may be pleasantly surprised what you're finding out about people, and then use that to optimize the quiz over time.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Oh shoot, it would have been really great to know this about my audience. Great. Add it in later because the benefit of using interact is once your quiz is already live on your website, on your blogs, on socials, all you have to do is re-edit and then republish the quiz within your interact account and wherever it's shared will update automatically. No changing codes, no changing links or anything like that. So I would highly recommend starting simple, done is better than perfect, get it out there, see how your audience is responding.
Starting point is 00:22:53 And our level of analytics will even show you, okay, and I'm a terrible numbers person, so if I can read these analytics, I promise you all can too. It's a really great funnel of how many people have viewed the quiz. If you're not getting enough views, are we hitting the wrong keywords?
Starting point is 00:23:08 Are there other keywords that you could be looking at? Are you sharing the quiz? Not enough, we're in the wrong places. Once you have the views, then how many people are clicking in to start the quiz? If they're not clicking in to start, then let's really focus on what's the quiz title, or are there certain images, or like the actual tech
Starting point is 00:23:24 of them clicking in to get started with the quiz, or are there certain images or like the actual tech of them clicking in to get started with the quiz, right? Let's look at that. From the starts, how many people are completing the quiz or getting to a quiz result? You can actually see on our growth plan which questions people might be exiting off on. And if there's a drop off on a certain question, you can remove the question. You could change the question, you could move it further down into your quiz. There's so many different things that you can do with your quiz, that you can do to optimize your quiz, but you really won't know what it is until you get it out there and start having these conversations with your audience by way of having them take your quiz to get started.
Starting point is 00:24:00 I think that some people will put their first quiz out there and they'll be so excited and then they'll go to look at their stats and they'll be like, wait, what am I looking for here? How do I know if this quiz is quote successful? Is there like a certain percentage that you recommend people aim for? And I guess what key metrics would you look at? Because you're probably looking at how many people have been presented the quiz versus how many people have actually taken it.
Starting point is 00:24:28 Is there a good number to know if it's actually successful? Yeah, a good benchmark would be about 40% conversion. So that would be from views to completions because that's the average. And so if you're hitting the average or if you're above it, you're doing a fantastic job. If you're not, there's different things that you can look at based on like those different levels of analytics, right? So is it literally just because this happens all the time where you'll
Starting point is 00:24:53 get really excited about your quiz and it doesn't do enough? First of all, what's enough? Especially if you're a brand new blogger, 10 views or 20 views might be a great start for you. There's a lot of case studies on our website where people are getting 100,000 leads from their quiz, $100,000 in revenue from the quiz leads that they've collected, right? But if you're not at that level, then don't compare yourself to that. So I would really encourage you to first start with a goal. What are you looking for? And maybe come up with that before you actually launch your quiz so that you are having the right expectations when you look at these numbers. But again, yeah,
Starting point is 00:25:29 I would say Jennifer, a benchmark of 40% conversions would be great. But again, remember, if you're not getting enough views and you're not hitting 40%, then focus on sharing the quiz because that's what I was going to say, especially in our group coaching, people would launch the quiz, they would take five weeks to make this thing. I mean, now it's going to take you a couple of minutes, but they would spend all this time creating the quiz. They would post it one time ever on Instagram and they're like, well, the quiz doesn't work. Nobody's subscribing. It's because nobody saw it. You really want to take the time to make sure people are able to find your quiz and take it and then use the metrics to do what it is that you want your quiz to do based
Starting point is 00:26:04 on your business goals. So I'm super excited about this 40%. You said that's an average. So that's people that are actually inputting their email address. Those are email addresses that you're collecting. So when you talk about the views on it, if you have this embedded in your website, is a page view similar to the views of the quiz? Will everybody coming to the site see the quiz? It depends on where you put it. It's a great question. And so these are things that you'd want to think about. And maybe there are specific reasons that the quiz is in certain spots
Starting point is 00:26:36 on your page, right? Think about that design. But I would say above the fold. So it's something like when I land on your page, your website, I can see the quiz very easily. Maybe it pops up or maybe it's embedded right there. Maybe it appears as an announcement bar. I will say when I look at some analytics, I can see thousands and thousands of views, but people aren't taking the quiz. And it's because our analytics show, okay, someone hit this page that the quiz is on, therefore they saw it, but the quiz is so far down the page, I have to scroll miles and miles in order to get there,
Starting point is 00:27:11 nobody actually saw it. So that's what you want to consider when you're putting your quiz out there is where are people's eyes going? Are they scrolling down in a blog and it should be in multiple spots throughout the blog? Does it need to be right at the top and prevalent? Does it need to pop up and get in their face? Should it be based on an accent intent, right? So all things to consider and all things to play with. Again, another reason not to
Starting point is 00:27:34 try to make your quiz perfect before you launch it, because you can play with all of these things to see what's going to work best and then optimize from there. When you talk about like changing things, if you feel like it's not working, what's the amount of time that you would suggest that somebody wait and let it play out? Because you don't want to try something for three days and be like, oh, it's not working or whatever. So what is that amount of time that you would say,
Starting point is 00:27:58 hey, give it X amount of days or weeks? What is that you recommend? Yeah, I think it's more so it's less about days and weeks and it's more so about the views so that you have enough data to look at the conversions, right? So if you're a brand new blogger then it's probably gonna take you a little bit longer to hit the traffic so that you can see how people funnel through. But if you're getting thousands of tens to thousands of visitors on your site every day, then you're probably gonna notice pretty quickly
Starting point is 00:28:26 how what's going on and what you might need to change. So I would more so focus on, again, what's your goal? Like how many leads are you even trying to get here? And if you're brand new and you don't even have any malice, don't aim for a hundred thousand. Make it a smart or realistic goal there. And then base it on that. So maybe get 20 people, 30 people
Starting point is 00:28:45 to take your quiz and look at the conversions from there and see if there's something that you need to optimize. But again, I would encourage you, especially newer bloggers, don't compare yourself to big blogging sites where you're like, well, I didn't see a result in a day, therefore this isn't going to work. I think that's good advice all around for new bloggers. Everybody started out at the beginning. Okay, so if somebody's like, all right, I want to take the next step. I want to do this. Can you just kind of walk us through that?
Starting point is 00:29:12 This is where you start and this is what you do on Interact? Yeah, so right on our website, tryinteract.com, you will see the AI form where you can add your website in. So the first thing you'll do is drop in your website. Now because we're talking to bloggers, I will say, if you're wanting to make a quiz specific to a blog that you have, like destinations or certain health equipment or health levels, right. Then use the link to your blog rather than your website because interact AI is
Starting point is 00:29:38 going to pull details from that content. And that's just going to make the quiz sound more like you and be more on brand of what you would actually say or recommend. So once you do that, you'll click next and then it will ask you a couple of questions. One, if you, the first question is, do you have a quiz idea or not? If you don't, it's okay. We'll come up with ideas for you. If you do, you can sort of guide it with the quiz that you want to make, right? You'll answer those and then the quiz will generate. You'll get a huge confetti bomb at the end when it's ready. And then you're able to do all of this for free, which I really love too. You can try the Interact AI tool without an account,
Starting point is 00:30:13 without a credit card. You can actually see, you can take the quiz and edit the quiz on a free plan with Interact. And then any of our plans start with a 14 day free trial. So what I always recommend is get the quiz started for free. Little pro tip, if you don't like the quiz, it creates for you, delete it from your account because the free account, you can have one quiz per account, right? So delete it and start over with Intract AI
Starting point is 00:30:36 so that you're getting the hang of it, finessing it, playing around with it. And then when you have that one quiz that you're ready to start testing out, customize it, get it ready to go so that you're ready to launch. Again, done is better than perfect. Don't go crazy. You're able to then hit publish. At that time, I would start the 14-day free trial. And then you have 14 days to actively market the quiz. It'll be ready. You can connect it to your email system. You can see how it performs and then choose your plan or subscription from there.
Starting point is 00:31:03 That's awesome. So people can really understand in that two weeks time whether or not this is going to be something that's going to give them leads. But what you said, share this in multiple spaces. Don't just pop it on a blog post and use it there. I think my question with that would be, is there a benefit to sending your quiz out to your existing email list? I guess it probably depends on the quiz. But does that just help you just gain more information about who's already on your list?
Starting point is 00:31:35 Yeah, I think the benefits to sending a quiz to your existing list is your existing list is probably already filled with ideal customers. So you're going to get that market research of how are people responding. They're also good. You can ask them for literally ask them for feedback, right? What do you think about this quiz? Are there things that you like or don't like and see what they say? But then also remember if you, especially if you're not segmenting your list currently, anybody who takes the quiz, even if they're already on your list, is going to be segmented based on those tags that you set up of, hey, they answered this question this way, or they fell into this result bucket. And so using that, you can then start to say like, just as an example, I don't know, like Jennifer, I forget
Starting point is 00:32:10 this specific example, but like you thought you were writing to families when maybe actually people were looking for like foodie restaurants. Okay, shift, right? Let's write some foodie blogs about restaurants people can go to. Let's maybe make a quiz of which restaurant should you try in Kansas City, right? So there's lots of insights that you'll get once you launch it. But I would say, yeah, the benefits to sending it to your existing list is ask for feedback. It's a great way to get people to take your quiz and then segment them. You'll segment them and you'll use the market research to perfect your brand and your business. I love these ideas. I think that this is just a great idea for people who they just might
Starting point is 00:32:46 be burned out with a freebie or they don't want to create a PDF or they don't want to do an ebook. Maybe they don't have a product or service that they want to use, but they feel like they want, well, hopefully they want to build their email list. If you're listening to this podcast, my guess is that you're wanting to build your email list because that's a heavy focus here. So thank you so much for giving so many actionable tips. Can I add one more? Oh, yeah. Let me add one more because you made me think of this when you're talking about eBooks and
Starting point is 00:33:15 PDFs. I'm a huge fan of not recreating the real. And so if you have an existing freebie or opt-in right now, you can use that link or you can copy and paste text into the AI form and use that as your website. Right. So I said you can use a specific blog. You can also use an existing opt-in and that way you're able to compare like a B test. How does the quiz perform compared to this ebook or this guide or this PDF that you're already sharing?
Starting point is 00:33:41 And chances are if you're already sharing this PDF or whatever the opt-in is currently, you have a funnel set up afterwards. So another, I think, area where people get overwhelmed with quizzes is, okay, I've launched the quiz, but now I need to create what I want them to do after. What emails do I want to send them afterwards? A, you can just send them to your main newsletter. Again, don't feel like you have to create
Starting point is 00:34:01 all these crazy sequences post-quiz. But if you already have something set up that's guiding people into funnels or launches that you've already had, then just recreate the quiz as your top of funnel lead magnet and then put them into the funnel as it already exists. So that's a really great way to get started as well, especially if you're just like, hey, how to quiz this different one for my brand. A, B, test it and literally compare the conversion rates from what you're already doing. Yeah, we are definitely fans of reusing things that you've already spent all the time to create.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Yeah, because you said it earlier, Jackie, we assume that somebody has already seen it if we share it one time or in one way, and that is not the case. We are inundated with content on any given day from all different kinds of places. And so don't be afraid to do that in any capacity, not just with quizzes, but with any capacity.
Starting point is 00:34:53 Like if something is performing well for you as a freebie, write it as a blog post, go on a podcast as a guest, put it in your email nurture series, make a quiz out of it. Like just think outside the box with how this could be reiterated and you're going to know, especially if it's something that people are engaging with often, then you know this is a heavy hitter and this is something that people are really wanting to know more about. I love that idea of just thinking outside the box and repurposing content. I think it's super, super insightful because that whole spinning whole spinning your wheels thing, like how can we make this easier to do?
Starting point is 00:35:26 How can we make it to where our time is actually really focused on turning people into email subscribers to be able to connect with them in a deeper way and serve them better? Because that's really the goal of what we're doing here. So Jackie, I would love for you just to share the website for Interact and we will be putting all that in our show notes and we are really excited and cannot wait. If you try these quizzes, please let us know. We are so excited to hear how they perform on your blogs. Yep. We are tryinteract.com. So T-R-Y-I-N-T-E-R-A-C-T.com. And right when you get onto the website, you
Starting point is 00:36:01 will see the AI form. Actually, our developers have been playing because I just saw pop up up here where if you're on any of our blogs or sites, you're able to start with using the Intract AI tool right away as well. We're also on YouTube as Try Interact, or I think it's just Intract. Tons of demo videos and support tutorials if you need those. We talk about strategy there. And then also when you are signed up with your Interact account, we have a live chat option. So we will give you quiz feedback, real people. My friends Damaris and Nia are there.
Starting point is 00:36:33 They will give you quiz feedback and they can talk your quiz strategy with you if you have any questions about your quiz, the analytics that you're getting from it, where you should share it, anything like that. Yes. Yes. You're so helpful and you're so knowledgeable. Thank you, truly. I enjoyed the live session.
Starting point is 00:36:48 I enjoyed this. I just, you found your zone of genius here with these. So I just appreciate all that you're willing to share and can't wait to see all these quizzes that people are going to create. I will also put a link in our show notes so you guys can check out, interact and make some quizzes and start connecting more and more with your audience. Thanks, Jackie, for coming on today.
