I got a hair transplant
In Turkey
I had to sleep at a 45 degree angle
No caffeine
No sweating
No sunlight
Couldn't work out
Are you just so attracted to me right now
Did it hurt
It's one of those things
Like if you don't like the way your hair looks enough
You have to accept that
You're probably gonna have a little bit of pain
I thought the kids were gonna be more scared of you
You were really scared of me when I came home
It literally looked like you'd a donut on his forehead
Hey real quick
We're taking a look at our analytics
And notice that over half of y'all
haven't subscribed to the podcast.
What does that mean?
Like, half the people that are listening right now
aren't actually subscribed?
Exactly.
How do you know that?
YouTube told us based off of the data.
Isn't that crazy?
I'm offended.
I'm actually offended.
No, no, no.
So you can make it up to us by leaving us review
on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, as well as hitting the subscribe button.
Or whenever you're listening, just do the things that you need to do on that
platform to let the algorithms know that you're happier here.

Give us an idea of someone you'd like this to have on to interview because we would love to interview them.
We'd love to have on people that you guys would like to hear from.
I'll have a conversation with literally anybody.
Let's give some backstory here because a lot of my friends and family when I said that Matt was going to Turkey to get a hair transplant.
The first thing they said was, is he balding?
Like, is he losing hair?
And it's like, no, Matt did not have profound hair loss.
but that's kind of like the point in time that you want to do something like this.
So you still have follicles that you can use and move to, you know, where you are receding.
That was part of it.
And he'd been talking about like wanting that down the line.
But then also this was a hosted experience.
And so it was really like all the reason more to pull the trigger at this specific time.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, what happened was a year and a half ago when I shaved my head, I realized how much my hair really was thinning.
I realized how much my hair line had receded on both sides, but especially on the side that I, like, part my hair to, you can really see.
Oh, it's uneven?
Yeah, like, look, there's more recession here on this side because it's where I part my hair.
So it's been, you know, pulling back my hair follicles year after year.
And so I didn't really realize how bad it had gotten until I shaved my head.
And I did it look good.
Like, let's just be honest.
You also did it yourself in our garage.
True.
Yeah, I just bought some clippers and shaved my head.
But it was a wake-up call.
And so I immediately started taking fanasteride and monocidil, which if you guys don't know what
those are, my noxidil is at least the type that I took was a topical serum that I put on top of my
head to help regrow hair.
It's effective.
I want to say for most people that do it, but it's not like 100% effective.
So not everyone that tries it.
Do you think it helped you at all?
I really don't know.
I don't think I did it long enough.
But to be honest, I didn't really see any results.
I didn't see any noticeable result from monocidil.
I was also on Phanastriide.
Phanastriad, I was on that to help prevent hair loss.
Okay, I want to actually say something about that because I was telling some that you had taken
finasteride and they're like, oh my gosh, how did you get pregnant?
Because apparently if you're taking finasteride, it can affect fertility.
So know that.
No, definitely be aware of that.
I didn't even know that.
I didn't know that, but thank goodness I have ADHD and just didn't get fulfilled.
I didn't refill my prescription for fanastriide.
And part of it was like, well, I'm about to get this hair transplant.
So, like, I'll just make sure I get back on it once I get the transplant.
Because you actually do have to continue taking that stuff after a hair transplant.
I didn't know that either, but I learned that recently.
And so I'm back on finastride.
But, yeah, it apparently makes it harder to get pregnant.
And apparently you're not even supposed to do finasteride while you're pregnant because I think it can even, I want to say.
No, no, while you're trying to concede.
Can it, like, harm things too?
Maybe.
I don't know.
I'm so glad that you, you forgot to take it or, like, chose not to take it for a little bit there.
And so he wasn't taking it when we conceived with baby number three.
Yeah.
But that is something to note because we didn't know that.
Because I was making videos about my hair loss journey and, you know, just, we kind of, like, share a lot of our life with you guys.
And so I was documenting that.
This company reached out from Turkey saying, hey, we want to give you a hair transplant.
And I was like super honored that they thought of me.
But at first I was like, okay, I'm still pretty young.
Like, do I go all the way to freaking turkey?
Like, this is a really far journey.
Turkey's very far from here.
But I thought about it.
And I was like, well, you know, I've never been to Turkey.
And I do want to get a hair transplant.
You know, I'm sure if I get it now, I probably will need another one at some point in the future,
maybe when I'm 40, maybe when I'm 50.
But it would be nice to have like a clean hairline.
in my 20s. Like this is, this is the time where I don't have, I don't have wrinkly skin. I don't have
gray hair. I've only got a couple gray hairs. So it's like, if I want to look good, let's look
good now. Okay. So I told them, yes, I'm down. And so shout out to Estenove. They are the
people that I partnered with on the journey. And I was really impressed with them. Like,
truthfully, I recently put out a YouTube video documenting the whole experience. And it was good. Like,
I'm talking five-star hotel, really fancy transfers to and from the airport.
port to the hotel, all-inclusive buffet, you know, breakfast buffet, really good food, really good
coffee. And then I even got to like tour the city of Istanbul. So it was awesome. That's awesome.
Yeah. The way you yawned right there showed me that you were. Why did you stop talking right when I was
yawning? Just showed me how interested you were in what I had to say. Anyway, Matt was trying to
convince me to go. And it's not like I didn't want to go to Turkey. I really wanted to see Turkey.
But I was like, I just don't want both of us to be gone from the kids. And all.
Also, I was in the first trimester, and, like, the flight time alone was, like, 19 hours.
Well, yeah, it was, it was like a four-half-jerk.
With layovers in between.
I think it was a five-hour flight to Seattle, which, by the way, did you know that Seattle
is, like, basically the distance from here back to Missouri?
Like, Missouri is, like, over halfway across the country.
We figured that out that day.
Yeah, no, we're so far south in Phoenix that Seattle is a freaking, like, it was over three,
I want to say it was almost four hours, yeah.
anyway. But I was like, I haven't thrown up this first trimester, but I surely will if I'm on a plane for 19 hours plus layovers. Yeah. So Abby did not come. Maybe next time I get in her transplant, she'll go with me. Yes. But it was a long flight. We'll bring the grandkids. Oh my God. It was a long flight. But you know what? Like I took some unisome, which you guys, that stuff works wonders, knocked me right out, fell asleep on the plane. I was even in economy. I didn't even sit and. I didn't even sit and.
you know, first class or extra leg room. Like I was in, I was in the very back of the plane. Do you
are drooling or snoring? I don't know. I have no idea. I was asleep. And then I landed after a 19
hour journey in Turkey. First night, ordered some room service, started to see dudes with bandages all over
their heads at the hotel. The city was beautiful. I was very impressed. Abby, I think I'd
mentioned this to you baby but you know we grew up in in the midwest we grew up around the bible belt
and so it's like everywhere you go there's a church like there's just churches everywhere over in turkey
it's like that but for islam so there's like there were so many mosques they were all so beautiful
it was like everywhere i looked there was a mosque and they just looked like works of art i mean
these were so tall so beautiful there's over 3,000 mosques in the city of istanbul
can you believe that how big is Istanbul it's bigger than new york city
It's a massive city. I want to say 20 million people live there. Oh my gosh. And there's an Asian side and a European side. So not only is it. Yeah. So like the city itself, Turkey obviously is also, you know, split up into Europe and Asia. But the city itself is split up onto two continents. So I was staying in a five star hotel, which by the way is included in the package that Estanova, which hosted me. That's like part of the package. It's procedure and staying at a five star hotel.
Honestly, I'm biased because Estanova took such good care of me, but that, I want to say that's, like, a lot of the places that do it there.
Like, you don't have to go with the place that I went to, but a lot of the places there, they'll include the cost of all your transfers to and from the hotel and the hotel within the price, like, in a package with the hair transplant.
So it's such a freaking good deal.
The only thing you have to cover in addition to that would be like your food and then fly, like the flight.
Yeah.
So you're really looking at about like 4,500, maybe.
5 grand. This episode is brought to you by Google Gemini. College students, if you are trying to
learn a new concept or understand something in a better way for a class that you're currently in,
you need to check out Google Gemini. I'm telling you guys, it is so helpful. You can give it
information that your teacher gives you, like even pictures of pages of your textbook, and it
will turn that into a podcast for you to listen to so you can really understand and resonate
on the information you're learning.
I wish that we had this when we were in college.
I'm so jealous of students nowadays
because with a resource like this,
you can take super complex topics
and condense them down into more simplified,
palatable amounts of information.
You can also, like Matt said,
turn it into podcasts.
You can take hours of research
and condense it down to like, what, 30 minutes?
Yes.
Whatever you need.
With a resource like this,
like it changes the game of studying,
classwork, coursework.
It's insane.
I actually use it and talk to it like it's a person, which is so cool.
I'm just a huge fan.
The great news is students get Google Gemini's pro plan free for one year.

Well, how much is a hair transplant in the U.S.?
So like a hair chance went to the U.S., you're looking at probably 15,000, sometimes upwards of 20,000.
And that's not counting your lodging either.
It's crazy how you get a really good, high quality product.
You're getting the same thing you get here in the States, but at a, like sometimes 10%, like literally like 90% off is like what you're paying.
So I thought that was cool.
The sad part is, you guys, I definitely felt lonely while I was there.
Like being away from you and the kids, absolutely.
He sent me this video of her leaving the airport with Griffin and Augie.
They were crying.
And they were both crying after they dropped me off at the airport.
So just that really made me sad.
Especially Augie.
But I just kept thinking about like, hey, this is only temporary.
I get to see a city that I've never seen before.
And a year from now, I will have my full result and full, you know, beautiful, luscious hair.
And my wife will think I'm like so much hotter after that.
I did it for you, babe.
I think you're very hot.
No, it's funny.
Every time Matt called me like at least three times a day, I would say.
Called you a lot, yeah.
And which is good.
I feel like we're like that.
We just like always stay in close touch, which I like.
But every call was like a history lesson on Turkey.
What did you learn?
And you said the word Constantinople, like.
Okay, what is Constantine?
I don't, it's like a Roman Empire.
It's the capital of, it was the capital of.
The Roman Empire.
Yeah.
But that was when the Roman Empire split because it got so big and they couldn't really manage it that well.
So they made like a western side and the eastern side of the Roman Empire.
And then about around 500 AD is when the Western Empire fell to Germanic tribes.
And then the Eastern Empire, which Constantinople was the emperor of, they held out for another like thousand years after the Western half of the Roman Empire fell.
So, yeah, Constantinople was literally the capital of the Roman Empire for a very freaking long time.
It's such a beautiful city.
It's crazy how many ancient Roman artifacts they have there.
I felt like I was in Rome.
Like, when we went to Rome on vacation, that's kind of what it felt like being in Constantinople.
But then you could definitely feel the Turkish influence because Turks took over, converted a lot of churches that used to exist into mosques.
And it's just really cool because it's this hybrid blend of...
Well, because they were Catholic before, huh?
No, they were Eastern Orthodox.
Oh.
Yeah.
Have you ever been to an Eastern, one of my friends growing up was Eastern Orthodox
because he grew up in Egypt and his family was Christian.
What is it?
I'm sorry.
It's very similar to Catholic because before.
Can you make me, I said Catholic, you're like, no.
No, it's not.
Well, it's similar to Catholic because before Protestants existed, there were two, like,
the church divided, kind of like how Muslims divided into Sunni and Shia Muslims,
like there's two big groups of Muslims.
But on the Christian side of things, you had, yeah, Eastern Orthodox.
Christians, and then Catholic.
And so, wait, hold up.
Somebody fact-checked me on this in the comments.
Can they become Protestant?
I want to say the reason there was two sections of Christianity was because of the
split of the Roman Empire, because the Roman Empire was Christian.
Can someone fact-check me on that?
Somebody do that, please.
Anyway, I'm a history nerd, so I thought that was fascinating.
I got lost a few times, but it's just like when you say Constantinople,
immediately my brain just starts thinking about that word.
Yeah.
I can't keep I can't move on with your next sentence I got to check out what they call like the the area where they had their version of the Coliseum in Constantinople it was this like arena that could fit nearly a hundred thousand people did they kill people there yeah they'd have gladiator fights oh my gosh and anyway I'm I'm rambling you probably don't really care about any of that but needless to say beautiful city beautiful mosques I stepped inside a mosque for the first time I actually wasn't dressed appropriately so
they had me wear a robe.
They gave,
they had like stuff you could put on over your clothes.
What was wrong with your?
You were wearing shorts.
I was wearing shorts.
Yeah, you can't show your knees.
That's why I packed pants for you.
Shoot,
I didn't even think about that.
Do you thought about that?
Yes.
You knew that for me to go inside a mosque.
I was figured.
Because that when you went inside.
You told me you were going to see mosques.
Yeah.
So when you went inside cathedrals in Europe,
you had to wear pants, right?
Yes.
Well, I was a kid.
I don't think they make kids,
but my mom did.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
It's the same way there.
And this is.
I think they probably prefer universe.
This is fascinating, babe.
The Haya Sophia Mosque, super famous mosque in Constantinople, used to be a cathedral.
Used to be a church.
Oh, you said that.
Yeah, Christians worshipped there until the Turks took it over.
And that was really interesting because at the time it was built, babe, which it was built,
oh gosh, I want to say 1500 years ago, it was literally the biggest domed building in the entire
world and it held that record for nearly a thousand years what topped it uh eventually i think it was
in the 17th century i think it's st petersburg cathedral one of those new cathedrals a couple hundred
years ago ended up beating it but it was a big deal so i got to like step inside this school
this mosque that's literally existed for over a thousand years just i mean it's just crazy when you're
an american to go somewhere that has so much ancient history yeah it's really interesting because
everywhere here, especially in Phoenix where we live, it's like, whoa, this building is a hundred
years old. Yeah, that's like crazy. If things are 100 years old. You go to Washington, D.C., and it's like,
this is 200 years old. And this is 300 years old. It's like, wow, that's crazy. And you go there
and they're like, this area is actually 10,000 years old. Like, it's just insane. That's crazy
to think about. Yeah. So that's nice that you also got to do a little tour. Yep.
See around Turkey. But you were feeling lonely. I was feeling lonely. I ended up
buying some baklava to help cheer me up. But then I didn't eat it because I wanted to keep it
sealed for you and the boys to try it. But unfortunately, the baklava didn't really save. I brought it
home and it. It still tasted good. It wasn't. I mean, you got to eat it fresh. You got a little
soggy. When you're in Turkey, you got to eat fresh baklava and fresh Turkish tilite.
The Turkicilite was fantastic. That was nice of you to think of us.
But I did make the mistake of drinking Turkish coffee the wrong way because I like try to drink
it all together and they have the grounds at the very bottom so it got on my teeth did they tell you
not to yeah they were like yeah you they looked to me and they were like laughing like all the people
know with me was it so strong very strong coffee's like thick right yeah it took really good care of me
though this episode is brought to you by square your favorite neighborhood spots run on square
i was just thinking back to christmas and there's a really really cool neighborhood in our town
that goes all out for christmas i'm talking about every
single house is deck to the nines. And since it's warm here in Arizona, we love just walking
through it with our kiddos and their wagon, seeing all the lights and stuff. And a lot of the
homes have hot cocoa stands or cookie stands, anything, you name it. They have cotton candy,
all these little shops from the kids in the neighborhood. And if you know us, you know that we
never have cash on us. So I was like, ah, we can't. Say, you know, we never say no to a kid selling
us something. But we don't, we never. We'll always be yes if you're under the age of 16. Yes, but we never
have cash. And so this kid was like, do you guys want hot chocolate? And I'm like, oh, kid, I'm so
sorry. We don't have cash to buy the hot chocolate. And he goes, oh, that's okay. I take credit
card. And we're like, what? This man was an entrepreneur. And that's because they were using
Square. Unless you're living under a rock, you probably have heard of Square because it is everywhere now.
These businesses are what makes the neighborhood the neighborhood. When we show up as a community,
it can mean big business for local business owners. Square is a proud partner of more than four million
neighborhood businesses around the world. Honestly, support your local businesses.
Support your neighborhood hot cocoa stands. Because it's not just the neighborhood hot cocoa
stands, though. It's like the local sandwich shop, maybe your local restaurant. Support your
community. You can go to square.com slash go slash unplanned to learn more. But before you do,
go support your favorite neighborhood spot. You'll be happy you did. Square, see you in the
neighborhood. Okay, so the actual procedure. Did it hurt? Actually, yeah, it did. The main part that hurt
was the anesthesia section that lasted about five minutes they put needles in my head to numb it so that
for the four hour long procedure where they were implanting 2800 grafts in my head which is if you if you're
watching on video you can see like they they brought down my hair line on the corner so I have recession on
the left and the right that's where they brought my hair line down and they yeah they had to numb all that
as well as the back of my head they pulled hair and extracted them from
like the sides of my head that have the thickest amount of hair and brought it on top.
So yeah, the numbing hurt.
It's like shots in your head.
Yeah, the numbing hurt, but it was manageable.
I've never had a shot in my head.
I think I was just naive.
Like I didn't, I didn't really do much research going in.
I really trusted Estanova though because my brother-in-law is a huge fan of some of the
Barstool podcast that they have and a bunch of guys from Barstool got their hair
transplants from Estanova.
So I knew that they were reputable.
I knew that they had done hair transplants for.
a lot of, like, well-known, you know, internet personalities. And so I, I, I just knew that they
weren't going to mess up. I knew that they had a good reputation. Didn't even take a look at
their website until afterward. And then looking at their website, I was like, oh, wow. Like,
I, I went to a really good place because they have so many good reviews, so many cool before
and after photos. And I could just tell from the, just the way they treated me. Like, I was like,
this is a top tier, high-quality place. Did they speak English? They did. Everyone spoke English that
I talked to. It was rare that there wasn't somebody that spoke English. But on top of that,
I had a translator, babe. So this lady Yasmin, she was so nice. She spoke freaking, I think it was
four or five different languages. Wow. Because she spoke Turkish and English. I want to say French
and then Spanish and then Arabic. Yeah, five languages. I was so impressed. And her English was
incredible. So I was like, I was like, you're so much smarter than me, Matt, Yasmin, because you're,
you're like walking me through everything, telling me everything that, like, that's going to happen.
like just casual everyday talk like it's like no yeah medical terms no yeah using medical terms just
i'm always impressed by people that can speak not only two languages but if you're like in the two
plus club holy frick like you are you are impressive how to keep it all straight but yeah i just i was
always told what was going to happen before it happened and luckily i got a d h i hair transplant
don't ask me what that stands for but what that essentially meant is
is rather than doing this old technique where they would get grafts from the back of your head
ripping off like entire strips of your of your skin.
It was one at a time.
Yeah, they would one at a time extract individual like, you know, clumps of hair follicles
and didn't have to rip off like a strip of skin.
So people that do the old technique where they would take off strips of skin,
that leaves your head with scars with the DHA technique.
They don't have, you don't get scars on your head.
But it probably takes a lot longer.
Yeah, or at least like it's less invasive.
it's uh there's just a bunch of little dots where they went in and ripped out hairs right and when
they implant them they used this like special sort of pen and we just go choo choo choo chooch and just like shoot
the follicles no because they numbed me so yeah it was like the numbing process that hurt but the actual
you know procedure itself that took four hours during it no during it during it wasn't in pain
it just was a little weird because i was awake the entire time but i brought um air pod so i could
listen to a podcast i thought it hurt the whole time no it didn't hurt until i got
back to the hotel and that's when my pain medicine started to wear off and so I took some more like
pain killer because I started to get like a really bad headache but that's just apparently that's pretty
normal it's one of those things like if you if you don't like the way your hair looks enough
you have to accept that you're probably going to have a little bit of pain to get what you want but it's
it's so it's such a short amount of time and then once I took the painkiller and put an ice pack on
my forehead like it basically went away I just felt bad that I wasn't there to take care of you
oh you're good you're good you had to be with our children you know our kids need their mom did you
basically spend the whole next day in your room yeah and it was funny like my head hurt so bad initially
i just closed my eyes and listened to like youtube videos about um the history of constantinople
oh my gosh that checks out in the history of turkey it was fascinating stuff i learned quite a bit
see that would give me a headache in itself really learning about history i thought it was so cool
I'm like, I'm interested, but I'm like, gosh, it's going to take me some effort.
I was literally in a city that predates, I want to say the New Testament.
Like it's been around so long, so ancient, even got to check out, I didn't even mention this,
even got to check out this ancient cistern that supplied water to the palace for the emperor.
So it was like this underground Roman water reservoir where they had, is it called an aquifer?
where they would like transport like the romans built these transport systems for water to come in and out of the city they it was one of those where they would transport water into it i just thought that was so freaking cool and i got to see uh we saw those in rome yeah but then and then they had this famous uh column where it was a statue of it was medusa's head you know medusa the mythological creature with the snake um hair yeah got to see that lady she was pretty creepy i know you guys know that feeling at the end of the day when you get to your bed and it literally just feels like
like you can finally exhale last night I literally hit our cozy earth sheets and literally was like
oh thank goodness I'm in bed because it was just one of those days and your bed is a place that you really
want to go all out in you spend so much time in your bed you want it to be comfortable you want it to
be luxurious even and that's exactly what cozy earth is cozy earth's bamboo sheets are
temperature regulating guaranteed to give you a comfortable night's sleep which is really important
because I sleep basically next to a human furnace and it gets really hot
especially because we live in the desert, and so it's nice to have, it's called viscose,
that type of material, and it kind of breathed. It keeps you warm when it's colder and
keeps you cooler when it's hot out. Their cuddle blanket is also so luxury. It offers a
combination of comfort and style. And the great thing about cozy earth is that it is a risk-free
because there is a 100-night sleep trial. Yes, you heard that right. Try them out if you don't
love them and return them hassle-free, but trust me, you won't want to. They also have a 10-year
warranty because once you feel this level of comfort, you'll want it to last a decade.
Head to cozy earth.com and use our code unplanned for up to 40% off.
And if you get a post-purched survey, make sure to let them know you heard about cozy
earth right here because your bed should be more than a place to sleep.
It should be your happy place.
Cozy Earth makes that possible.
What questions have your friends asked you when they find out?
Most of them ask if it hurts.
Oh, yeah.
A lot of people are interested in cost because like with turkey, you hear a lot, like you see those
videos of like guys with bandages or bald heads on their way to turkey.
Yeah.
And so I think a lot of people can put two and two together, two and two together that if you're
flying all the way to turkey, there must be a significant price difference in the
procedure.
100%.
People also get like veneers done and other cosmetic surgeries.
Yeah, I was talking to a kid at the hotel that asked me about the bandages on the back
of my head.
And he was telling me that he's known people that have gotten all sorts of plastic surgery
there.
He was somebody from the UK, so he had like a really cool accent.
See, he's interesting that you call him a kid, but he was clearly an adult.
Well, he, he, he, I called him a kid because he was probably like 18 or 19 years old.
Dude, we're getting older.
I feel like I could be this kid's father, but I'm obviously not that old.
I'm not that much older than him.
Right.
But yeah, there were quite a few people that were getting, you know, I was talking to different
people and, you know, there's just a lot of, a lot of medical tourism is what it's called.
People going to Turkey to get their teeth.
done, boobs done, nose done. Everybody's getting things done. Noted. Yep. Noted. Um, what else were
people asking me? How would you have reacted if I would have come home with a pair boobs?
You asked me that. What did you say? Maybe you should it say on the internet what you said to me?
What did I say? I'm not going to say it. Divorce.
that would have been a pretty shocking way for me to come home
I'm sorry I would have to be a pretty good wife
I would know I don't know what's doing those things
we're getting off topic
okay anyway
Matt literally asked me that question
is this something you're considering
do we need to have a conversation
what's the deeper layer here
what if I said babe
the whole time it was never a hair transplant
It was actually boobs and I was just too afraid to tell you.
I think, okay.
Moving on.
I mean, I guess like what was the recovery like is like what a lot of people say.
Like a lot of people afterwards were like, how's he doing?
The funny thing about the recovery, babe, is I didn't read the aftercare instructions that Estanova sent over before I even flew out.
Like, they sent this out well in advance.
Yeah, you just never read it.
Yeah, we had a consultation all over Zoom to where they could like look at my head.
I sent pictures.
We messaged over WhatsApp.
So there was this whole process and system in place.
True Matt Howard fashion.
He's like, I'm just going to wing it.
Yeah, so I won it.
And the night before I was like, you know, maybe I should like take a look at these aftercare instructions.
First thing I said is wear button down shirts because you can't pull like a regular shirt over your head.
I packed you a button down shirt.
Are you sure?
Did I actually have one?
Maybe I did.
You packed one.
But it looked like I was, what was I going to wear?
A freaking like polo with, you know, Nike gym shorts.
It just looked. It was a weird look. That's what you had to do.
Yeah. So anyway, buttoned down shirts were a must.
Because you can't pull shirts over your head.
I had to sleep at a 45 degree angle for 12 days with a neck pillow.
So, you know, completely different way of sleeping.
I slept horrible the first night because I'm just not used to sleeping sitting up.
And that's that like all the blood and crap can drain out of your head.
And the other main thing was no sexual activity.
two weeks is what it said okay wait pause right there can we talk about the donut you had on your
forehead yes is that what had to drain out yeah okay so to be able to extract all the hairs
around the sides of my head babe they pumped like water or some sort of liquid i forget what they
said but they like pumped something into my head like saline yeah like to expand my skin that way
they could see the graphs and and extract them and so all that travel to your forehead oh yeah
Yeah, so all that had to slowly drain out.
So that's why I had to sleep at a 45.
It literally looked like you had a donut on his forehead.
And swelling.
You guys, I actually have pictures of my forehead being massive.
And then it going down to like my eyes to where I had squinty eyes.
It freaked me out.
I had squinty eyes for an entire day.
I looked like a different human being.
Like I did not look like myself.
I thought the kids were going to be more scared of you.
Yeah.
They were like, dad.
Like they didn't even care.
You were really scared of me when I came home.
Like I didn't, I looked very creepy.
I also had, like, bloody, like, wounds on the back of my head.
I don't, I don't like holes.
So all those holes.
A bunch of mini, tiny little holes.
It didn't look as bad as I thought I was going to look, though.
Wait, what's that, that fear called when you're afraid of, when you're afraid of, what is, like, honeycomb or, let me look this up.
Holes.
Trippophobia.
Yeah, tripophobia.
Tripophobia.
Tripophobia is an aversion to the site of, is repetitive patterns.
Oh, repetitive patterns or clusters of.
small holes or bumps and then this is what it shows yeah so a honeycomb would be would be an
example of that do you feel that way when you see that type of thing you know i was trying to like
empathize with you right there and like understand it some pictures can be a little creepy to me but for
the most part no for me it's like geographical too like if there's like a porous landscape
oh or someone's like if it's like someone's foot or like just like a human human body i could never
work in the medical field yeah with like a bunch of tiny holes on it but yeah that's that was what my head
looked like so i think you were a little freak out they weren't like deep holes but there's just like
little dots i can do dots better um yeah i was more so concerned about the swelling and i was also
just concerned that you were in pain but i think you were doing a lot better at that point yeah wait so
let's go back to you couldn't have sex yeah so we couldn't have sex and um i don't think that one
Last and flat long.
What did they say?
I learned that the day, I learned that the day after the surgery.
We were talked, I talked to the doctor because I had like a checkup the day, the next day.
You're telling me sex came up with this doctor.
Well, they were like, okay, so no sexual activity, no this, no that.
I'm like, wait, I was like, hold up second.
You're telling me no sexual activity for two weeks.
You like had to repeat that one?
Yeah.
I was like, nobody told me about this.
This is my favorite part of being married.
that's sad don't say that it was it's one of the benefits one of the many benefits one of the many benefits so
anyway um yeah they they uh they hit me with that one at the end but um what probably thought that
wasn't going to be that big of a deal but there was quite a few things though like stuff you'd never
think of i'm not a smoker but they said like no smoking for um i think it was two weeks after the
surgery gosh that could be really important for no alcohol for two weeks after the surgery um you know
just like any sort of anything none of that no caffeine i couldn't have caffeine the day of the
surgery even because that can affect things a lot of people ask me like is he just going to wear a hat
and i was like he actually can't wear a hat couldn't wear a hat for an entire month i'm actually
back to wearing hats now can't be in the sun no sunlight no direct sunlight exposure yeah no
working out no sweating yeah no like physical activity really wait wait wait wait what are you
to talk about what you said. When you said that, well, you called me and you're like, Abby, this isn't
good. They said that I can't have sex for, what is it, 14 days? 14 days. 14 days. And I was like,
now, why is that? Like, I couldn't figure out, like, how there was a correlation between your hair
transplant and, like, us having sex. And you're like, well, they said that it could cause me to sweat
or bonk my head. Yeah, bump your head, sweat. And then it's the blood pressure, too. So your
blood pressure quickly rises and falls and that apparently is what does it weird right crazy yeah
who knew that the the restrictions after hair transplants were that extreme there's even more that
we're not even mentioning there's so many that like i can't even put hair products or hair spray in my
hair for six months yeah i i have been able to get that's why it's really long on the top yeah so that's
yeah so that's why my hair's it looks so weird right now is because they just buzzed the sides they
didn't, you know, try to blend it or make it look good. They just, you know, it was all a medical
procedure, right? And they said that I couldn't get a haircut for a month. So today's, the day that
we're filming this right now is actually the first day that I can get a haircut. Probably should
have gotten one today, but maybe I'll, maybe I'll get one here in the next day or so because I,
I would love that, you know, that would be great. It's funny because like me telling the kids,
I'm like, they're in Turkey and then girlfriend's like, I want to go to Turkey. Of course, I want to go
in Turkey and then I was he's like dad like why is dad there I was like oh he's getting a hair
transplant he really locked on the word transplant because obviously he probably hasn't really
heard that before yeah and then there was a podcast I was playing and they said something about like
an organ transplant and he's like transplant like he's like knows that word no way he's like
like a hair transplant in turkey like it's so like they're so smart they're just trying to put
everything together and I was like you are so smart buddy I was like it's kind of different
wait what did Griffin tell his friends about where his dad was he said hair transplant and turkey like
he knew but I thought I thought he like I thought he said my dad's in turkey to feed the turkeys
or like to eat turkey at first he thought you were going to eat turkey in turkey that is very
confusing there was a lot of like he's like yeah eating turkey why do I think Turkish delight was
actual like turkey coated in sugar oh my have you ever seen the line the witch in the wardrobe yes as a kid
watching the line the witch in the wardrobe when she said turkish delight me being a dumb little kid
didn't really think through the fact that it was turkish likes it's from the country of turkey
but in the same way as griffin was thinking like literal turkey i was like oh that must be a sugary
like you know meat snack i played lucy in the line that's the wardrobe so i knew about turkish
It's good. It's really good. I ate it a lot there. For the show, they got it at a
T.J. Max. They sold it at T.J. Max. They sell Turkish Shalai at T.J. Max. With nuts in it. It's probably
less expensive than the Turkish Shalai that I bought in Turkey. Surely. Well, probably less
authentic as well. Yeah. Yeah. I literally bought it in the country of Turkey. So it was
yummy. And it's covered in like powdered sugar, right? Oh, you've been eating it. I know. I had it
when I was in the show. Oh, you haven't opened up the Turkish Shalai that I brought home for you?
I didn't realize you brought home Turkish Shalite. Is it in the pantry? It's in the pantry. It's in the
pantry yeah this my gift to you. We need to crack open to that. Crack that open. I like it. Griffin and
Augie would love it. They would. Yeah. Oh, they surely would. Does it have nuts in it? Uh, yes, pistachios.

Results take six months to a year to like fully come in.
So be patient with Matt's head for the next year.
You're still around a year from now.
It's going to take a while.
It kind of freaked me out in the days after the surgery because on the 12th day when I could
shampoo my hair fully and like remove the scabs because I had a bunch of scabs form
where the hairs were coming in.
I had a ton of hair fall out.
Like a lot.
There were so many long hairs and like my hair has never been this.
Like not the new follicles, but like the actual hair that was already on his head fell out.
So it fell out.
But apparently that's very normal.
I can see. It's like thinned a lot. Yeah, my hair has thinned quite a bit. It's harder to notice because right now, like my hair is like slicked back. But if my hair was going to the side right now, you'd be like, oh, wow, Matt's hair looks like it's thinning. But that's just part of the recovery process because your head's freaking shocked. Like they just... It went through a trauma.
Yeah, they just injected my head with needles to numb it and then extracted a bunch of hairs, 2,800 graphs, and then implanted those graphs on top of my head. So, you know, I went through a lot.
And it makes sense when you think about it that way, why I lost so much hair.
That's probably the same thing that happens when you are postpartum, like after birth.
Yeah.
Your hair, you lose a lot of hair because you're probably like, I just went through a thing.
Yeah.
But anywho, I...
Overall, it was a really good experience.
You weren't gone that long at all.
Like, you literally left on a Sunday and we're back on a Friday.
Yeah.
So it felt long for us because I'm pretty sure that's like the longest we've been apart.
I tried...
like six years. Abby and I tried sleeping with our bed at an angle so that I didn't have to use
like 50 pillows to do a 90 degree angle or a 75 degree angle. And Abby felt like poor thing like
couldn't sleep that way. So we. I sucked one night like that and then the other night's I was like
I'm going to go to the guess better. Another thing. I have been styling my hair by leaning backwards
into our bath and just running water over the back of my head because I can't put product in it.
I'm technically not supposed to comb it or use a brush for a couple months.
Oh, I can use shampoo, but I can't, like, style my, I'm not really able to style it, you know?
That's just a you thing, though.
I can't use a you thing, though.
I can't use a brush.
I can't use a brush or a comb.
I can't use, um, the, you know, a lot of guys use American fiber or just like any sort of pomade to style their hair.
Can't do that.
So I've been just going into.
How long until you can do that?
Uh, oh, I have to review my, my, my, my, my, um, I have to review my, my, my,
sheet explaining everything. If you can get a haircut, they're going to use a brush on your
hair. Oh, wait, you're right. Yeah. I didn't even think about that. But I thought,
can't they, wait, you're right. They do use a comb when I, I need to ask somebody about that.
Yeah. Maybe, maybe like, since they're only doing a haircut every so often, it's not a big deal.
Maybe they're just saying, like, daily brushing is bad, but me getting one haircut isn't going to,
you know, drastically affect the results. I feel like you don't even use a brush really anyway.
You just kind of run your fingers through it. Yeah.
it's not like you're getting tangles in your hair yeah yeah but um yeah super excited to see the
results here in 12 months that's how long it takes and I uh I couldn't be more thankful to
Estenove for you know making this all happen it's a great experience yeah it really was a great
experience and I'm hoping that Matt was like eating like halibut in his room like he had nice
fish dinners yeah just they they have Tirmisu I felt like I
I got the luxury experience because they just know how to do it right in Turkey.
I was really impressed with the country.
It felt very safe.
There was never a time there that I didn't feel safe.
And it's, you know, it's a big city, a lot of people.
So just.
I'll have to go with you next time.
I know.
You will.
It would be fun.
30 years.
Actually, like while I was there, I really wanted to bring the kids and just like get them, get them used to the culture, you know.
Yeah.
People would love.
I think all the people there love kids.
So I think it'd be fun.
to bring little kids to that would be good to turkey but um let's enough about me babe let's talk about
you how are you how are you feeling today everybody knows you're pregnant everybody knows that we've got
baby number three on the way so how how are you feeling really let's do that how are you feeling
really i feel really good yeah really i'm cooking let's go what's making you feel really good
anything specific i'm eating good i'm staying active that makes me feel really good you're working
out quite a bit. How many days a week? How many days a week are you working out? I work out like six days
a week. That is insane. Yeah, five, six. I'm like that. See, like, it's one thing to do that when you're not
pregnant, but then to do it when you're pregnant, very impressive. Thank you. Super impressive. Seriously.
Like, that's, that's so hard. Well, you can't just start that when you're pregnant. You got to,
I've been consistent for years before. You know what I mean? Today's my first day I can work out after not
being able to work out for a month. I was thinking about that. I was like, how did he not go to the gym this morning?
You know, it's like my favorite outlet.
It's weird.
Like, I just kind of like, I think I have gotten a little complacent.
I really need to go tomorrow, though.
Because I haven't gone today.
I really enjoy it.
Baby, I'm getting a little chubby.
No, you're not.
I am, babe.
Like, my belly has definitely moved a couple.
Moved a couple inches horizontally.
I'm growing horizontally.
So am I.
I know, but you have a child in your belly.
I'm just eating cookies.
It's fine.
It's fine. I'm eating cookies, too.
It's not.
baby. But I probably eat five times as many cookies as you eat. Let's be honest. Come on. Just gain weight
with me. Gain 45 pounds with me. All right. All right. Whatever. Yay. Um, no, I feel really good. The only
thing is I get headaches at this stage of pregnancy. Both times I've gotten a lot of headaches. Like late,
first trimester, early, second trimesterester, I get a lot of headaches. And you can't take
Excedrin. Yeah. And then now apparently they just canceled Tylenol. Wait, okay. Why is Tylenol
canceled? Do you explain that to me? I haven't really looked into it because I, my, my
doctor hasn't said anything. Okay. So I'm just going to...
You're just going to listen to what your doctor says. Yeah. In case your doctor recommends
to change, you're cool with it. Yeah. I mean, I'm in so much pain. Like, when I have these
headaches, so I'm like, don't take the one thing that we can take. Oh, yeah, because Tylenol is the one
thing you can take. Is ibuprofen allowed when you're pregnant? I take a sedent. No, you can't
take ibuprofen. I take a Cedaminopin. Wow. Yeah. That, I forgot about that.
I mean, these headaches will last days for me if I don't. Like, and I took it with my other
pregnancies yeah i mean i'm sure people read that and wanted like cut it out completely and i totally
get that um i didn't look into it too much and your bump has grown it's so cute you can i think
you can like noticeably tell you're pregnant now really yeah like when you wear your workout sets to the gym
you got this cute little bump and it's just it's clear like oh that's a pregnant mama and i i think
it's really i'm like so unaware of like my bump at this this time around oh yeah like i'm just
going with it. Like, I don't, I think the last time I was, like, checking in the mirror every day to see
both times, like, see what it looks like, and now it's just like, ah, okay, surrah, sarah, whatever
will be. It wasn't like I was worried about it, but I'm just like, it's just happening and it's
just not my primary focus, like it was, but, um, so excited for this baby. Obviously,
we have a long ways to go. Yeah. But it has been going really fast. Yeah, lots of headaches.
I've been sleeping. That's the thing. I've been eating really good. I've been sleeping really
good. I've been active. So I feel like those things really help. The reason I'm in sleep
really good is because Matt wakes up with the kids every morning, basically. You put them to bed
like every night. Like I'm just kind of spoiled. I think about moms that don't have that luxury
or like their husband isn't able to or doesn't do anything for the kids. Like I'm like, wow.
This would be a whole different ball game if you were like working all the time or like out of the
house or had to travel a lot. So I feel very spoiled and that's why I think I've been able to.
That's the reason why I'm able to be active.
Like, let's be honest, if I worked full time and then you also had a crazy work schedule
and we still had two toddlers take care of, like, no, I would not work out six days a week.
Yeah.
Like, absolutely not.
So, like, if you're pregnant and have little kids at home and also work or don't have the same situation with your spouse, like, don't be sitting here judging yourself because this is literally just the, like, this works for our lifestyle.
But if I had that lifestyle, I certainly would not work out six days a week.
Yeah. No, it's a privilege to be able to be active like this. It's not like I'm like tougher than other pregnant women.
And we've definitely both transitioned from working, you know, a full time job to like working less than that in the week so that we can't have more time with our kids.
Yeah. Just because like we love them and we want to spend as much time with them as we can.
It's the reason. Yeah, exactly. I think, I mean, you literally said it perfectly. So there's nothing else for me to add there.
Got to prioritize that. So yeah, it's been really good.
Yeah. It's been really good. We're looking for it to the anatomy scan. Yeah, excited to find out what the gender is. That's coming up. We're going to, you know, be waiting for the anatomy scan to find out the gender. But the recent holdup we've been dealing with you guys is trying to decide when we're going to pull the trigger on Abby's new mom car. Because we just got done looking at so many different vehicles, so many different three-road vehicles. Yeah, I'm so sick of looking at cars, honestly. Yeah, but it was, it was fun. Like, we got to really, we tell.
drove a ton of vehicles we we did minivans we did freaking escalades then we did um like electric vehicles
that have three rows and it was shocking to like see the comparison between all these cars because
they're so different but at the end of the day they're just getting you from point a to point
b um however you know if you don't have enough space for your growing family it can be it can be
inconvenient you know so i think you know abby's in that nesting phase right now where she is so eager to pull the
trigger on a car like right now but something I think we're still figuring out is if we're
going to wait closer to when the baby's born just because then we have more more options we can
really think through what we want to do but I'm also getting side eye right now and I think
well more options like what's like something else is going to hit the market between now and
January I don't know I don't know how how do you feel on like buying a used car versus a new car
like what what's your what do you think about that i really don't i think that all depends on your financial
situation yeah that's yeah yeah because part of me we you know we the last time i was raised to never
ever buy a new car same same and it just so happened that when we bought our cars three years ago
the cars that we have now it was when there was a shortage of chips and so the only cars available
were really new ones because, I mean, or the new cars were the exact same price as the used car.
So it just did not make sense to buy a used car at that time.
I will say, I want the next vehicle we get to be like a long-term vehicle because both the cars that we have,
we haven't really had that long.
Like they still feel new to me basically.
Yeah.
But we've just unfortunately grown out of them too quickly.
Well, when we bought that.
So I'm like, it's appealing to get a new one to get exactly what you want.
Yeah.
So you can just like.
really get the most out of it.
Well, Abby, our family has over doubled since we bought the two vehicles that we have now.
And then I start to think, I'm like, I want to be able to take, like, their cousins with them
someplace.
I want to be able to take their cousins out and, like, all of us go together.
But then I'm just like, oh, my gosh, there's too many factors to consider.
But it's not like I want one now, but I did tell you, I was like, there is just like a certain
sense of, like, urgency of, like, wanting to get all.
It's just all related to nesting, but I feel it now really strongly.
like I tell Matt every single day
I feel like my stress levels
this pregnancy have been really high
which is like not necessarily related
well it was related to the pregnancy
at the beginning now we're at the stage
where it's like related to like our surroundings
which is so dumb because we have all of our needs met
I understand that but like sometimes it's just like
stress is just a thing that you feel that you can't like
you can't rationalize your way out of
and so I'm like oh my gosh
like they're toys I need to go through all their toys
and like get them in a good system so we can keep our house really, really organized.
I'm like, I need to go through all their shoes and the mudroom.
The mudroom needs to be sorted.
And I'm like, the garage.
Got to do the garage.
Yeah.
Like they're clothes.
I got to get rid of like the clothes and get, like, it feels like everything is like piling up and I have to take care of it.
When logically, the logical side of my head is like, okay, you have plenty of time.
Not everything has to be perfect when this baby comes, but there is just some instinct that kicks in.
It's weird.
Yeah, it's funny.
how you you have that like nesting instinct because i get that i understand like the desire to
make our house functional and nice and we've you know we're we have a good system down but it almost
feels like no matter what you do there's always going to be the next thing oh totally to make your
life even better but you know what i've what i've found to be really funny is i've just you know
set the kids loose with a little a little bucket of water in the backyard we got it we got it fenced off
to where they're enclosed in a safe space where they just, you know, we'll be in the kitchen
like doing dishes and they're, you know, right, you know, literally 10 feet away. But to them,
it feels like they just have the freedom to, you know, throw the rocks in the, around our
ficus hedge if they want to or roll around in our, and the grass. Like, they can do whatever they want.
That's not the same thing. Yeah. I'm talking about like organizing cabinets. Oh yeah, but I'm just,
I'm saying, like, I love that our kids don't need a lot to create fun.
Right, totally.
Like, I think sometimes parents think they need to do all this stuff and buy all these things for their kids
when their kids just want to get to, like, throw rocks and splash in some water.
And, yeah, you might want some toys for your kid, but they create toys, right?
Like, they, half the time when we buy something, they end up playing with the box more than the actual thing.
That's not what I'm talking about, though, Matt.
Really?
I'm talking about just making our house organized.
Okay.
Maybe I got, I got a little sidetrack there.
I'm not talking about buying toys, but I'm sorry, because I totally am aligned there.
And I see what you mean, but that's, I'm just wanting you to know.
That's not what I'm talking about.
No, I guess what I'm saying is I've noticed that our kids playing outside, especially when they do like a water activity, like with water guns and stuff, they end up not missing up the house as much.
Yeah.
And I feel like they have more fun.
Oh, they love the outside.
Because, you know, Griffin and Augie are attached at the hip and they do everything together.
And it's the cutest thing in the world when I'm like doing this.
and they're just cracking up at each other.
Well, a lot of my friends that have girls, though, they're like, we spend six hours a day
coloring.
And I'm like, oh, coloring is an activity that happens on our walls for like five seconds.
And then the crans get bitten or broken and then no actual coloring happens.
Yeah.
It's kind of shocking to me when people tell me that.
I'm like, oh, you guys just like do crafts?
The other one is Play-Doh.
Oh, Play-Doh never works.
Our kids somehow get Plato all over the carpet.
it all over the nice tile in our backyard.
Shove it in their trucks.
I'm not a fan of the Play-Doh.
They shove Play-Doh in their trucks and it gets stuck there and it dries all up.
But you know the toy that I actually love that our boys have been obsessed with recently?
Magnetiles.
Oh, I want to get more magnet-tiles.
They're so good.
They've been playing with those for like an hour.
In other news, we are currently planning our two-year-old's birthday party.
And you're probably like, wait a second.
Wasn't his birthday last month?
We've already celebrated his birthday twice.
We've celebrated with your family in the Midwest.
Yes.
And then we celebrated it on his birthday with like our.
our family here.
And this will be his third birthday party.
This will be his third birthday party for his second birthday.
And it's going to be with all his friends.
Yeah, it was a busy time.
So we're like, we're going to.
And we had to push it further back though because we're having two babies born
in our family and we kind of wanted to hit it dead center.
Yes.
So hopefully, well, hopefully but not hopefully.
The second niece or nephew doesn't get born before or during his birthday party.
Yeah, we don't, we don't want that to overlap, you know.
Yes, but he's really excited to celebrate it.
I've been asking him every single day.
I'm like, do you want it to be at Superplay or do you want it to be at home?
And he'll be like, home.
And I'll be like, do you want it to be at home or at Superplay?
Superplay?
I'm like, okay, do you want it to be Lightning McQueen themed or Buzz?
And he's like, Buzz.
Like, but do you want it to be Buzz or Lightning McQueen?
Lightning McQueen.
He always just says what I say a second.
But Buzz and Lightning McQueen are the two action figures that he always carries with him?
I know.
So we're going with Lightning McQueen at Superplay.
Okay, that's cool.
That was the answer I got the most from him.
I didn't realize that it was Lightning McQueen themed, and now I'm stoked because I love that movie.
It's going to be too fast.
Too fast?
Too fast.
Oh, yeah.
Lain McQueen themed at Superplay.
He literally loves Superplay.
It's like this indoor play park thing, which is great being in Arizona because it's so hot.
Should we try to make the cake?
Because I know you've been really into baking recently.
I thought about making cupcakes.
Okay.
Do we get a professionally made cake?
I don't know.
As well?
Maybe he would like a professional one
So it actually looks like Lightning McQueen
That's true
That would be kind of cool
I'm no professional cake artist
Yeah
Maybe we hire someone to do that
Yeah
I don't know
And you still make the cupcakes
Though because you make
Really good cupcakes
He loves Superplay
It's like this indoor play park
They literally get in there
And they're both
Beat Red and sweating the entire
They like go so hard
They love this place
There's balls
There's places
Like really cool slides
Just place for them to run around
and climb and just be wild and though there's a basketball court that Augie loves it's like a bouncy
floor so fun anyway and they also love that they serve soft pretzel nuggets there they both can eat
so many soft pretzel nuggets they just go crazy so it's going to have all of his favorite things and
we're going to have like 15 or 20 toddlers so it's going to be amazing that's so funny i know
speaking of 15 to 20 toddlers you guys we have people over at our house all the time it's like oftentimes
abby's family or my family we've been
hosting swim lessons.
There's been families coming in and out of our house.
Nine kids.
Every day.
And then recently we hosted a pool party.
It was just a spur of the moment.
Saturday night.
Yeah, spur of the moment.
And being 25 people in total, including kids.
And I thought I bought enough pizza.
Like, I got six pizzas, wings.
Did that include kids?
I think so.
Okay.
And breadsticks.
And bro, we cleared it out.
Like, we cleared all of it out.
That's the worst thing that could happen at a party.
And I felt, you run out of pizza.
But we didn't run out of food.
until like literally the last five minutes.
No, you did a pretty good job.
So I think everyone got enough.
You nailed it.
You hit it honestly spot on.
But yeah, it was just like, it was fun.
It also made me realize like, dude, if you're going to host people at your house,
ordering pizza is the move because it's so, like, it's so comparable to buy,
to buying food at the grocery store.
Like I spent less than a hundred bucks to feed 25 people.
That's not that bad.
Right.
And it was delivered.
It was delivered too.
That included tip.
And the delivery driver was so nice.
Yes, so I'm team order pizza whenever we host things at our house because it tastes great
and then we both get to just like enjoy the party and not like spend our entire time trying
to make sure everybody else is enjoying the party.
Oh yeah, no, yeah, people brought stuff too.
But also it's going to be really fun to host once our new play set is in.
Yes.
You guys, we, this is the things you get excited for when you have little kids.
But I have been, it's literally going to be Christmas morning when this new place that arrives.
Matt is the one, you were the ringleader for this decision.
This play set is so extra.
So extra.
It is, it's a castle.
I was like, Matt, you decide.
And I was like, he's like, I don't know.
He's like, well, their friends are going to want to play on it.
Their cousins are going to want to play on it.
We're going to have more kids.
Like, let's just send it.
If we're going to do it at this point in our life.
And I was like, I love the way you.
Honestly, that was like such a turn on.
Really?
Yeah.
Well, I was just thinking about the fact that the place that I had as a kid,
I grew up using that thing from when I was four to when I was like almost 14.
Right.
So it was just such a part of my childhood.
And I kind of view it as an investment in our children.
Matt.
It's more than just a play set.
The way that this is turning me on so much.
And luckily, you know, luckily I was able to pull some triggers.
I talked to this local company and I was like, are you guys looking for any.
Rough house?
Let's give a shout out.
Rough house.
They're a local company in Arizona.
I was like, hey, are you guys looking.
to do any advertising and they happen to be doing that because they work with a lot of creators
who help them get the word out about roughhouse so they were able to cut me a deal but we still
had a dish out quite a bit of money i mean it's it is very uh you know it's it's expensive top
tier play set but it's an investment in our kid's childhood so i think it's worth it you know
and i would have paid top i could agree more i would have paid top dollar for it but i am frugal
and so i was like hey maybe if they need some advertising i can get a discount and it worked out
It's going to be so fun with all their little friends, like, and our kids are just going to be over the moon.
I would much rather spend money on something that's going to get them to be outside, being active, using their imaginations, and not investing in something that's going to keep them inside on a screen.
Well, this, okay, so this swing set, you guys.
It's not a swing set.
It's really called like the Citadel or something.
Yeah.
It has a bridge from one section of the swing set to the other side.
It has two towers. Yeah, so two towers. Three slides. Yeah, I think one of the slides that you're mentioning is technically a rant, but it has like a swirly one and then a big really long one. It has a rock wall. Three swings. Three swings. It has the biggest. It has to keep them cool. LED lights at night. Yeah, it's going to look sick at night. And I love, I think eventually we'll get a shade for the top because think about like July in Arizona. It's like 110 degrees out. I don't know if our HOA is going to be like chill with that. Oh crap. I didn't even consult HR yet.
Yeah, really. I swear if we get a notice from the HOA saying that we can't have this, if they like flag us or something.
You should report this. Maybe we'll just like plant more trees around it or something. I don't know.
You're not going to be able to hide this citadel. Dude, I think if we put more, because we have a ficus hedge in our backyard, if they give me a notice, I might just like freaking plant more ficus hedge everywhere and then you won't even see it. And they can kick rocks.
Because it's like, okay, if you're going to if you're going to get mad at me for putting an investment.
in my child's future in my backyard like that's not cool okay okay yeah I think it should be fine
one of our neighbors got a citation from the HOA because he had this like teeny little shed that was
too close to the fence that is next to the road on the side of the house but there's a tree in front of it
like you can't even see it and he pointed out to me and he told me that he just ignored the HOA
violations and he's never been fined Arizona and their HOAs they never actually like went after him
that's surprising that's what he told me he also told me that's none of the neighbors who have also
gotten violations from the HOA they've like they haven't gone after them either okay good to know so
I'm just I'm learning stuff from people in the neighborhood well anyway this thing is going to be so
awesome I feel like the kids are going to have a total blast it's going to get so much use in her
house we have always have so many kids over I'm just really grateful I'm literally going to be
like Christmas morning like this is better like I'm so excited for this to be here I want to play on
it I want to go on that down the slide
Yeah.
It's going to be awesome.
I feel like this has been like a long time in making because we first started planning this in July, like the beginning of July.
Yeah.
So this is going to be totally awesome.
Yeah.
We're so stoked.
I'm excited for, you know, a year from now when we've gotten a ton of use out of the swing set.
My hair is going to be all grown in on the corners.
So if, hey, like, take a look, you guys.
If you haven't seen a look.
We will have a six month old.
Oh, my gosh.
We're going to have a six month old a year from now.
Once you get to six months, you're like through it.
Wow.
It's going to be cool.
