I had to leave my bridal party to go sign a pre-up.
Part of the issue was I made one on chat TV.
All the day before the wedding.
Wright and Myler grew up in front of millions as one of the original stars of Ninja Kids TV,
a kids martial arts channel with over 24 million subscribers.
My dad wanted to start a family vlog channel.
So we went to Costa Rica and Panama for two months.
We got burglarized.
So all of our camera gear, electronics.
If we would have started that family channel,
we may not have ever started Ninja Kids.
A decade later, Brighton is all grown up
and just celebrated his first wedding anniversary
with his wife, Jade.
Everyone thinks I'm pregnant all the time.
There's a YouTube channel that posts fake thumbnails
of our family.
But it's kind of a big problem with my whole family.
Sometimes his sister, they get in a huge accent.
My siblings die all the time on YouTube.
Yeah, and people message us like,
are your siblings okay?
We talk about getting invited to perform
for the Princess of Malaysia,
why they had two weddings,
and living with their in-laws as newlyweds,
all on today's episode.
Please welcome Brighton and Jay
What an introduction!
Welcome!
You guys are so awesome.
Guys, this is your first podcast, right?
Yes.
We're so excited.
Are you nervous?
A little.
A little bit?
They've done a lot in their careers.
I feel like this is probably more chill.
Yeah.
True.
But Jade said the same feeling of nervousness is excitement.
Yes, that's what I tell myself.
So I'm like a little bit nervous, but also the same feeling.
I'm also excited.
Yeah, as I said that I'm like, Brighton,
You grew up on a family channel that has like 24 million subscribers.
So I feel like you're probably just used to this stuff at this point.
Yeah, it's true.
It's definitely different podcast style.
But, you know, I love being on camera.
And so it's a good time.
I want to get into how you guys met.
You just got married a year ago, which congratulations, by the way.
But when you guys met each other, did you know who he was?
Did you know that he was this famous YouTuber?
We actually have the best.
story about how we met.
I don't think it's pretty of it.
No one would ever be able to guess.
It's not we didn't meet on a dating app.
We have the best story, I'd say.
Let's hear it.
So I was actually on another date.
What?
That's how we start.
We love this.
I was on another date.
I was on another date.
And it was a fun time.
But it was just like a first date.
And so I was driving in the car with my with my bro as a double date.
And so we were driving on State Street.
And then I,
I saw Jade in the car next.
You got to say you dropped your date off.
Yeah, she's not with us.
She's not with us.
I was going to say if you like.
Right, no, no.
Pull the mood.
You got to double date with your brother.
Was it also his friend?
No, my bro.
My friend.
Oh,
not my brother.
Was it also a first date for him?
Yeah, yes.
Oh, that's so fun.
Just a fun, casual thing.
So we dropped off the girls and then we were driving down State Street and she was in
the car next to us and I just said, hey, she's cute.
So I rolled down my window and I was like, roll down your window and she rolled down her
window. Oh, not the first time actually. She tried to ignore us.
We need to tell my side of the story, but you can keep going with yours. She ignored us at the
first light. So I followed her to the next light. Followed her. And then she finally rolled down
her window. I got her number and I called her right away and the rest is history. So that's how we met.
Wait, I need to hear your side of the story. Well, my side, he followed me for a good amount of time.
Were you by yourself? Yes. And I looked crazy. I had just gotten done with work. I changed into my
workout clothes. I was going to the gym. He had just gotten on a date, so he looks his very best,
you know? And I see this car keep following me, and they keep looking over at me. I'm kind
of nervous. I'm like, why is someone following me? What's going on? I was in a college town,
so I thought someone was pranking me or something. I didn't know. And so I kept ignoring them,
and then finally he was like, roll down your window. And so I did it. And then, yeah,
then he was nice, but he followed me for a second. So I was a little concerned, but he was really
cute. So I was like, okay, I'll trust him. Is that all you heard him say was, what's your number?
He said, I think you're cute. What's your number? Like yelling it because it was loud. And so I don't know why. That was the first time I ever gave my number out to anyone. Like a real number. I'd always give a fake number. I'd always give a fake number. I don't know. I want to try it. So I gave my number and then we drove off and he called me immediately. And then we drove off and he called me and he's like, hi, I'm Brighton. What's your name? We talked for a minute. And I asked him what he does for work or does he didn't know who I was. I had no idea. So we met. And he called me and he's like, hi, I'm Brighton. What's your name? We talked for a minute. And I asked him what he does for work or does he.
to school and he's like, oh, I'm not in school. I just make videos for fun. I was like, is that a red
flag? You just make videos for fun? What does that mean? I probably said YouTube videos. No, I don't
think you did. You were very chill. I just make videos. And so I was like, okay. And then later,
I looked him up after the gym and he had like 100,000 followers on just Instagram and I was like,
oh, who's this guy? And I go home and I ask my little brothers about it and they were freaking out.
Freaking out. They were like, you just met the ninja kid. You need to go on a date with him. He's
He's so awesome. I've watched him forever. And I actually wasn't going to go on a date with him.
I was supposed to leave on an LDS mission. And I was kind of done with the dating scene. I just moved home from college. And so I said, I'm not going to go on a date. It's fine. He's cute, but it's fine. But my mom's the one that was like, you should just go. She kind of forced me. I was a little bit annoyed.
Yeah. My mom's like, just go. You never know. And we went. And the first day, I was like, oh my goodness. He is so different. He's the best. He just was so cool. And then we literally hung out every day.
then. And she didn't go on her mission. And I didn't go on my mission.
You didn't go on my mission. We don't know instead. You guys totally broke my theory because
I've literally always said, why do guys try to make moves at red lights? Because this would
never work. What would this ever work on? It worked on me. It worked on me. That's really sweet.
What made him different? Because you said you've been on dates before. You did another guys.
You went to, you were at college, you said? Did you, did you, did you, did you
stop college early to do the mission because you just didn't feel fulfilled you needed to do something
else in your life yeah i was in i was at college for over a year and a half and then my friends and i kind of
just wanted to serve a mission i wanted to grow as a person and so maybe a mission's where i should go
and i love adventure so i was like maybe they'll call me summer cool and then i got my mission call
i moved home and then i was supposed to leave within two months where was your call to denmark
Copenhagen. So I was really excited. I was really learning Danish. I was like, oh my goodness,
it's going to be the best. I'm going to take her this year to make up for it. Yes.
He said he would take me there. But yeah. And then I met him and he was just so genuine. He just
felt like, you know those college guys, those bros they always hear about? That's kind of the
people I was just going on dates with and they're kind of lame. It was okay, but he was just the best
and he had the coolest stories. And I thought our lives would just fit so well.
What was the story he told you on the date? Oh, okay. So on the first date, I
like to ask people like three truths in a lie. Do you have anything cool? And I ask him and he says
the most insane things. And I'm like, do you know how this game works? You're supposed to tell the
truth and then one lie. But he told me, what was it? You visited the princess of Malaysia. You went to
her birthday party. Oh my goodness. What was it? You like, I don't even remember the other ones.
Something like scuba diving with sharks. It was just crazy, adventurous stuff. And I'm like,
you were crazy. I want to do that. I want to do that. Pause for a second. Can you tell us a
story about you visiting the princess of Malaysia. Yeah, it was a great time. It was a great time.
The royal family called us up and was like, hey, we want you to come to the princess's birthday
party and we're like, this got to be a scam. This can't be real. Right. But it ended up being real
and we went and it was super cool experience. We got to see the palace and that birthday party was the
most insane birthday party. They spent millions of dollars just on a birthday party. Wasn't it? She's like
six years old or something. Yeah, six year old birthday party. Oh, so she watched the YouTube channel.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So she was a subscriber and wanted us to come, which is why they, they made the effort to
reach out and to fly us out there. Bro, that's like when I've heard about different rappers or like
Justin Bieber performing at like Saudi Prince's birthday parties. Like, that's what this was for you guys.
Exactly.
That was a good time.
So we've got to go to a few fun birthday parties.
That one's probably the most unique.
But we just did DJ Khalid's kids birthday parties.
Patrick Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes.
He went to the Ninja Kids Action Park for his kids birthday.
The Kardashians came to the Action Park.
Yeah.
To meet them, unfortunately.
But like, cool people.
That's insane.
That is insane.
Also, I don't know why when you said the princess, I was not thinking a six-year-old.
No.
That's so sweet.
Like a six-year-old, like mom, they're like,
asking her, what do you want to do for your six birthday?
She's like, well, I know I could probably literally have anything.
So my favorite YouTubers, let's bring out.
Yeah, yeah.
That's sweet.
Were you able to vlog the birthday party?
We did.
It's on YouTube.
It's on the Ninja Fam channel.
We did a lot of fun stuff in Malaysia, so people can check that out.
They got like a police escort to the soccer game.
Yeah.
I don't know.
They just got cool stuff in Malaysia.
Very unique.
He's got the second largest car collection in the world, over 2,000 cars.
It was amazing.
Over 2,000?
Yeah, over 2,000 cars.
Beautiful.
It was insane.
You have lived some life.
That is crazy.
Imagine this on our first date.
Someone's just telling you these stories.
I'm like, goodness, you're crazy.
Did you tell him on the first day that your brothers watched him?
I think I did mention it, right?
I don't remember.
I remember on our first date, it was during Christmas time, so all of my extended family
and cousins were over, and they were all mega fans.
So when he came to pick me up, I had to keep everyone inside.
They were trying to run out and get his autograph.
Well, I couldn't come in anyways because I was on a knee scooter.
I couldn't walk on our first date.
He wasn't supposed to drive.
That was my first time driving after I hurt my foot.
It was a very chaotic first day, but it worked out.
That's sweet.
I love you guys remember all the details too.
What was the timeline from the first date to getting engaged?
It was.
Almost a year, like 11 months.
Okay.
So it's still pretty quick.
I feel like in Utah, that's a long time.
I was just about to say.
Some of my friends that grew up in Utah were like, yeah, we met.
It was measured in weeks.
Two weeks later, we got married.
It was awesome.
That's crazy.
So that's good.
So why 11 months?
Why did you guys wait 11 months to get engaged?
I know.
We were young.
We weren't in a rush.
And it just felt like the perfect time for us.
And just trying to figure out, we wanted to date through every season just to know we were
making the right decision.
It's a big deal.
It's the biggest decision.
Yeah.
ever make and so i know i mean and to make that while you're a teenager is crazy right because yeah
were you 19 when i was when we got engaged wait were you 19 when we met i turned just turned 20
when we got engaged okay two months before so yeah it's a little scary yeah and i don't know why
in my mind i'm like i want to be 21 when we get married i'm close enough let's just wait till after
then yeah he always said that why do you have a specific age that's weird but i don't we're just so
close. I'm like, let's just cross that benchmark and we'll get married. You know, what's funny is my
entire life, I always wanted to get older. I wanted to get to the age of 21. Like in my mind,
that was the age when you could, yeah, you're already able to vote and you can drink and you can
just like, people take you, I thought people would just take you seriously. Yeah. And ever since
passing 21, now I'm like, oh gosh, I'm getting old. Oh, oh, Frank. Okay. And so like,
it's, it's kind of fun. Do you feel, because you're right now, you're 20,
too, right? Yeah. So how does that feel? Do you feel older? Do you feel how do you feel your age?
I don't know. I still feel pretty young for my age, especially, I can't believe we were married
over a year now. And I still feel young, but I'm already ready for those next steps. When are we having
kids? You know, I've always been the person of my family to just want things early in life. So I've always
gravitated to do older people things. And I don't know, I've always been an old soul in just wanting
to do the next progression in life and keep things moving.
Well, you've been in your career already for a very long time.
Yeah.
You're like very established.
You're like kind of like we're almost a part of the adult world like as a young
teen because you, did you guys start the channel?
You were 13?
Yeah, I was 13.
Okay.
Do you, okay, so it blew up pretty quickly, huh?
Yeah, our first video has over 100 million views.
Goodness.
That's not most people's YouTube journey.
Let's just put that out there for anyone that's.
like trying to grow on YouTube. That was not our journey. That was not our journey by any means.
So that's pretty crazy. So with that type of like eyes on you at such a young age, like did you go to
regular school? Like were you able to do normal things? Yeah. So up until that point I was going to
normal school. But I was also full time competitive and gymnastics. So even before YouTube,
we were always very active. And my dad owns a martial arts studio. So I was already
a second degree black belt by the time I was 13 and I was doing competitive gymnastics. And so
I was already doing part-time school, just doing the core classes at school and then
basically doing electives with other activities. Thank you to OCF for sponsoring this portion of
today's episode. I was just talking with a friend about how in the summertime it's almost
overstimulating to have lotion on, even though we certainly need it out here in the desert. My skin is
definitely really dry and I try to moisturize my entire body every single day because of it.
But sometimes it's just so sticky and hot in the summer, but that is not the case.
And I've used Osea's serum.
I love it.
Lather it all over my body.
Their product has this invisible lightweight feel and it layers on super, super easily, especially
just on my legs after I shave.
It is the greatest feeling ever.
For 30 years, Ocea has stayed consistent with clean, clinically tested skin care from the C.

Girl, you're glowing.
Can I just say that?
Thank you.

That's unplanned at os ea malibu.com.
And so when we started YouTube, we were just even more busy.
And so we started an online thing.
And I kind of did online through high school.
And it's definitely different.
I think every kid wishes for something they don't have.
And I didn't have the typical experience of going to school.
And maybe I didn't have as many friends as a lot of people did.
But I wouldn't trade it for anything because, you know, I had a great life.
and I have so many fun opportunities that comes with creating YouTube and doing things like that.
So I wouldn't trade it, but it's definitely different.
It's not the normal childhood experience, I would say.
Yeah, it's probably more like the life of like a child actor or like any child like
prodigy in certain area.
Like that's like high achieving.
Did your parents both stay home then with you guys as you went through the rest of the school?
Yeah.
family was always very, very important. I think our family's closer than a lot of families. Jade,
sometimes I'm jealous because Jade has tons of friends, great friend group, but like my family
was so tight. And so she's like, hey, at least you have a really tight family. It's okay. It's just
different pros and cons. I mean, she has a great family too. But they were always around. We always
work together. Even the martial arts studio, we would go together. My parents worked together at the
studio. They work together in YouTube. So they're always around.
Are you saying you didn't really, did you not really have friends outside of your family?
Yeah, we didn't have a lot of time. Like, I do have friends, but not, but it wasn't like a
priority in my life where I got to go hang out every single day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was,
yeah, just different, different focuses. We were out of town all the time.
Visiting the Princess of Malaysia. Yeah. And sometimes when you're busy, friends will just
assume you're busy and then stop.
Yeah. It's just a different experience.
Yeah. That's pretty amazing.
I feel like the way that your parents navigated such a,
they probably didn't have a lot of friends that they could call up and be like,
hey, so when our kids go viral online and like have these amazing opportunities that no other,
like, there's not a large network of other parents to consult,
but it seems like they did like a pretty awesome job of like keeping you guys grounded
and rooted amidst a crazy life.
And did like did the YouTube channel come first or did you start acting first? Because I want to say I saw when I was
looking things up, you even had a stint in in a movie, correct? Yeah, exactly. So we, this is a long story. So
YouTube was supposed to come first. We were on a fan. So we went on a two month family trip because
my dad wanted to start a family vlog channel. Okay. So we went to Costa Rica and Panama for two months. And we got
burglarized. And so all of our camera gear, electronics, and my family, we did all right, but that was
a huge setback financially. And it was a big deal. And so when we got back from our trip,
then they signed us up for acting and to do movies. So I did get into movies and that ended up
coming first. And I was in a movie called The Last Straw. So it was a great time. And I think that
definitely prepared us to what ended up happening. And I think if we would have started that
family channel, we may not have ever started Ninja Kids. So everything happens for a reason,
I guess. So it worked out. But yeah, we were trying to start a family vlog channel first.
And getting burglarized, do you remember the burglars? Did you see them? No, we didn't see them.
We think we were staying at a house in Costa Rica. And we think the people who
own the house have something to do with how it happened.
We don't know for sure, but when we left,
someone came in and took everything and then it was gone by the time we got back
and it was just a very suspicious scenario.
So we think it has something to do with the people who own the house.
Like the hasn't looked broken into or anything.
Right.
And it was like perfect.
None of their stuff was taken or anything.
All the stuff that was there.
It was just our stuff.
So it was a weird thing.
situation. That is
unfortunate.
Wow.
Why don't even know what to say?
Yeah, I don't know if that's been shared on YouTube.
I don't know if that has either. Your dad didn't start YouTube for what?
Seven more years after that?
Well, that's 2012 and then we started in 2017.
Oh, okay.
That's crazy.
Several years later.
What's your relationship like with your parents?
Was this like one of those situations where you got like the tiger mom and tiger dad
or like, get back out there and do your thing?
Like, I don't know.
I don't know what that, what's that vibe?
It was a very interesting thing.
If you ask any of my siblings, that's still probably one of their favorite family
adventures ever, just because it was the first time we had ever done something big like that.
So it's very monumental in our minds.
And I think my dad was quiet for like two or three days.
And we all knew it was a sad thing.
And my mom would take us.
I think she took us to go do surf lessons.
while my dad was coping with all the lost items.
But then after a couple days, we still had a month or a month and half left of our trip.
And so we were deciding if we go home or not.
And my dad said, just, hey, let's finish out the trip.
Let's have a great time.
And now I don't have work to do.
I have time to spend with all of you guys.
And then at one of our next locations, we were out at night and there were a bunch of people
on their work computers working while they're in this beautiful,
tropical paradise and it was almost a silver lining he was just able to say hey I'm just here with
my family enjoying it and so it turned out into a really great thing in the end but it was the the
first few days right after was not a lot of talking happen just but after that it was a great
trip and I was only eight and then my Ashton was six and then the twins were four so we were
all really young. Oh, goodness. But it ended up being a great time. Hmm, that's sweet. It turned around for
sure. Jade, what is, what was the first, you know, year of your relationship like being, you know,
that while you guys were dating because you weren't, you didn't get engaged for 11 long months?
Oh, it was the best. We are so similar that we stayed so busy. We went to Egypt and Finland in Paris.
What? And Dubai. Where else did we go?
So we went all over.
And it was, that's just my dream.
And so we got to go and make some videos together.
And he was so busy.
Yeah.
And I was happy that she was someone who was excited about my life to be a part of it.
Because other people I've dated weren't necessarily as excited about those certain aspects.
And so it would have just been a completely different life if I was doing it on my own rather than having someone that wants to do it with me and travel.
and make content.
Yeah, was that like a question on the first date of like, hey, are you okay with being public
and having this crazy life?
I don't know if it was a first date question, but I think it was an important thing to me
when it came to getting married that I needed someone like that.
And she was the perfect person because she always wanted to do content creation,
just never got into it on her own.
So it was a perfect segue for her life.
That's cool. At what point was it like, okay, we're not married, but we're going to be like a couple online.
When we got engaged.
Okay. Yeah, that's pretty much. Yeah. We tried to keep it pretty chill. And then we got engaged. We're like, let's make videos. Let's make a channel together.
That's awesome. Yeah. How do you ever made any videos on the internet?
No. And so I would have for fun a little bit with my friends when I was younger just because I thought social media was awesome, but it's scary to start. I'm sure you guys know that too. It's just scary to put yourself out there and everyone could just.
you and so I was in a very different path. I was going to dentistry and so very different.
You're going to do you have amazing teeth. Oh, thank you. That's, that's confident. That's so nice.
Thank you. That's so cool. You're into dentistry. Yeah, so I loved it. I went to trade school walls also
in high school and I did oral surgery assisting. Wow. And so that's actually another story. That's how
people think that we met because that was my first time on camera. Ashton, his brother came in and I took
his wisdom teeth out. And so, but that was my first time on anything. And that was, that was a big thing.
Everyone thought that's how we met. That I was Ashton's nurse. That's funny that you mentioned that
because I saw somebody mentioned something about how you guys met with you getting your wisdom teeth.
Yes. So I went back to watch the wisdom teeth video, but I didn't, I didn't see anything about you
stopping her to stop like. So I'm an assistant, but I was in the surgery and I helped most of the time.
I'm not the surgeon, but it was just me and the surgeon the whole time.
So, yes, I saw his wisdom teeth and everything.
Oh my goodness.
So me and Ashton are tight.
It's his brother.
I didn't even take his out.
Took his brothers out.
So it's probably why you didn't see it.
It's on his brother, Ashton's channel.
Got it.
Okay.
But yeah, that was the first time I was on camera.
So you can see me in the background kind of nervous because I'm not supposed to be in it,
but I was just awkward.
Yeah, but we kind of talked about it and we're like, hey, she's cute, but she had never
been announced on social media.
So it wasn't a full, hey, this.
is my girlfriend. Oh, did you, did you kind of tease it though in the video? Yes. Yeah, we teased it. Or did you, like,
oh, I think we should go on a date sometime. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. He was like, I should get the
nurse's number. I think I should get her number. That's cute. Yeah. And so people know, we've told our
real, like, how we met, but people just assumed that's how we met because I hadn't met on video anywhere.
Got it. Okay. That, you know, it must get confusing with people, us making, yeah, making a
Obviously, you guys.
We tease that for sure.
Teased that there, but like, has there been like an assumptions once made other than that?
That was just completely incorrect.
Yeah.
I have one.
Everyone thinks I'm pregnant all the time.
Why?
I don't, I think they just want us to have babies, I think.
I'm hoping that's why and I'm hoping it's not because I look pregnant, but.
There is a YouTube channel.
There's a YouTube channel that posts fake thumbnails.
of our family all the time.
They get good views on our videos.
So it's been posted and they've seen thumbnails of it.
So they feel like it's real even though that's not us.
Interesting.
Are these AI thumbnails about Jade being pregnant?
Exactly.
A lot of times.
Sometimes I'll have twins.
Sometimes it's just one baby.
But it's kind of a big problem with my whole family.
Anything shocking or even things that make us look bad or something,
these channels will be like this happen.
click on this video and the thumbnail's crazy.
And obviously it never shows anything like that.
But it's kind of scary.
It can get confusing.
Sometimes his sister,
they get in a huge accident or Peyton almost dies is what they say.
Yeah.
My siblings die all the time on YouTube.
Yeah.
And people message us like,
are your siblings okay?
Yeah.
And yeah, it's a big deal.
I don't know why people do that.
But just a couple weeks ago,
we were at a meet and greet thing.
And one of the parents said,
congratulations, dad and aunt and uncles to my siblings.
as if she was having kids.
And I did even correct her because it was so quick.
Yeah.
But I figured she just assumed Jade was pregnant because of those videos.
Yeah.
It seems like your audience is very obsessed with the idea of you guys having kids.
Definitely.
Is that something that you guys see down in your future?
Yeah, we want kids.
Just not right now.
Let's just get the record straight.
Let's see.
I don't know.
I don't think it's something we need a rush, but I'm excited for kids.
and I want to be a young dad so I could see it in the next couple years maybe sooner.
I don't know.
We'll see.
I think I'm probably more on board than she is as of right now.
That's funny.
Oh, yeah.
I would love to be a young parent and have lots of kids.
It's just scary to move to that next step.
That's a big deal.
And it's a lot more physical on her.
And so it's easy for me to say I'm ready.
You're like, yeah, let's do it.
And you're like, wait a minute.
I don't have to go through it.
This is a lot.
100%
Right.
And then you get to the next stage,
which is actually taking care of living, breathing,
little mini human.
And you aren't getting sleep.
And so that's like,
I think becoming a parent was probably the biggest change
that I've ever been through,
like ever.
And I feel like that's probably,
I think a lot of parents would probably say the same thing.
Well,
I'm curious because we got married the same ages.
How long did you guys wait?
We waited three years.
Okay.
Okay, yeah.
It's a good amount of time.
Well, no, we started trying after two, and Griffin was born after three.
Yeah, a little after two.
Because our oldest is about to turn four, and we're about to celebrate seven years.
Well, he wasn't born.
We didn't have the baby until three years.
Oh, okay.
Okay, I see.
Yeah, like literally exactly three years.
I don't even know what you're...
What do you mean?
He was born July 3rd.
Yeah, three.
Our anniversary was July 6th.
Yeah, yeah, he's born like right after.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's almost perfect.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We just have to wait another.
year before you get pregnant or something like that.
Yeah.
If you guys want to copy us.
Hey, I think it's a good timeline.
We also did date a while like before we got married.
We did three years before we got married.
Okay.
Yeah.
So, but that season of newlywed like life is so memorable.
Like we talk about it literally every day.
We're like, remember when we did this?
Just because that stage of life is just so, it's so busy.
You're doing so many like mountain top things like because you can do things.
at a faster pace than with kids you slow down.
Like what was your first year of marriage?
First of all, wait, I need to ask about the wedding.
Was it a massive wedding?
It was awesome.
We had the best wedding ever.
It was a party.
It was.
We wanted it to be a party and it was a party.
I don't know.
We probably had six or 700 people there.
Whoa.
Yeah, we didn't expect that either.
We just sent out of our friends and then everyone showed up.
I was shocked.
How'd you feed that many people?
We ran out of food very quickly.
Oh, you did.
Yeah, we didn't have a full meal for the reception.
Okay.
It was just a luncheon right before with like the close.
It was 175 people, I think.
So we fed all those people a real dinner.
And then we had this massive jumbo charcutory board that was supposed to feed that many people.
I think it was supposed to feed 500, but we had more people.
Wow.
And it was fun.
Goodness.
We don't know that many people.
Yeah.
I didn't think I did either.
It must be him because I didn't think I did either.
He's like, I have no idea.
Who paid for the wedding?
It was, so my parents were in charge of mostly, mostly the wedding, and then his parents
were awesome and wanted to pay for the flowers and the honeymoon.
So it was kind of split.
It just depended.
It's probably pretty even, honestly, it's really even.
But as our parents.
Most couples are moving towards that now.
Right.
We're both the oldest, so we didn't really know how to do it.
And so our parents just talked to each other.
We just figured out what everyone feels comfortable with.
Yeah.
Sweet.
Are your family's both pretty close?
I would say so
They're friendly
They don't go out every weekend
But every once in a while
Yeah
That's fun
Are your siblings close?
Yes
I ask because our family is just
abnormally close
Are they?
Like people are like not even
necessarily related
Or just like all considering everyone family
Wait that's sweet
Yeah
So cute
Our siblings are actually really similar ages
And opposite genders
So we keep trying to have our siblings date
Yeah we're trying to stay
Always
So we had my sister and his brother in a video
and the whole video we kept pushing them close.
We're like, you guys should date.
That's cute.
We keep trying.
It probably won't happen.
They've never been on a date.
No, they haven't.
You could have double cousins.
I know.
That'd be kind of cool.
That would be kind of cool.
And then I have another brother and his sister.
We keep trying to set up, but it's not working out.
But they'd be so fun.
That would be really fun.
Yes, but then our little brothers are tight.
They hang out all the time.
That's cute.
The 12-year-olds, they love each other.
That's really sweet.
The fact that you have 12-year-old little brothers is so.
crazy to me. I know. Like our kids are like almost four. Not a big different.
Question for you guys. So you guys got married in the temple and then did a reception afterward.
Yeah. That's kind of the norm in Utah, right? Like that's because I think usually at least like I'm
from Missouri, everyone just gets married once. Could you explain for somebody that doesn't know like
why the two weddings? Why the two events? Yeah, that's a great question. We, it didn't used to be a
normal thing because the reception, the second wedding where we do a normal ceremony isn't an official
wedding at all. We're not getting married. It's just for fun, honestly, because everyone's seen
the movies and they're like, I want to walk down the aisle. Like my parents and most people,
our parents' generation, never did the second wedding thing. It's more of a newer thing because people
want to experience that. And you might not. So also in the temple when we got married, that's when you
officially are married through the state and we believe you're getting sealed in the temple
together for all eternity. But a lot of people that aren't members can't go in the temple.
And so he has a lot of family and I have a lot of family that couldn't go in. So we still wanted
them to be part of the ceremony. Can you take pictures in there too? No, just outside.
Just outside. So then is that another benefit then too is that you get like traditional wedding
pictures. Right, exactly. That's cool. Your parents, do they have wedding pictures or no?
Yeah, just outside the temple? Just like the beautiful castle looking temple. Usually just take it outside.
Yeah.
But that's mainly why.
Just because people want that experience,
even though you're not actually getting married.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Thank you to Our Place for sponsoring this portion of today's episode.
We recently did the monumental task of swapping out our cookware.
Our new Hourplace set is gorgeous.
I literally get compliments on it all the time.
Oh yeah.
And it's so easy to flip eggs in it.
I love it.
I love over easy eggs in the morning.
And oh my gosh, you don't have to.
to do like butter in the pan, it just, it just flips.
If you're someone who really loves cooking or want something more heavy duty, the titanium
pro is awesome. That's what we have. It's great for high heat, cooking, searing, and everyday
durability. It's the first nonstick with zero coating made from pure titanium and a stainless steel
exterior. So it's incredibly durable and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. And it also performs
beautifully. For browning, crisping and getting that perfect sear, they are so easy to clean too.
Have you noticed that? Yes, yes. When I've cleaned.
the skillet oh my gosh everything comes right out you're not having like junk hang out in

it cleans right up and that really makes a difference to me as well upgrade your kitchen with

Are you like really good at making food? Because I, that's so, that's such a
stereotype. All our friends are LDS make amazing food. Such good food. I'm definitely
learning. I'm trying. I wouldn't say I'm bad, but he is amazing. I like to barbecue.
He's an ultimate barbecue master. Oh. Yes. I wouldn't say I'm master, but I really enjoy it.
I've always loved cooking with my mom and so it's kind of stuck.
So I just like to cook food.
Every party I'm always the one to cook the burgers or I did a brisket recently.
Oh, do you smoke it?
Yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
So I enjoy it.
I never thought I'd find someone that's such a good cook.
I just figured I would be better, but I'm not better than it.
Bryden cooks more than you do is what I'm picking up on.
She probably still cooks more.
I cook more, but I think he cooks harder things than I do if that makes sense.
all the smoking. I don't know how to do any of that. Do you make Hawaiian haystacks? I never have. I
never have. I was going to say all of our friends that earliest would make us Hawaiian haystack.
That's what my mom would make me all the time. Really? You know what I think? We've got to describe what
this dish is because it's kind of crazy for people that have never had it. Describe the Hawaiian haystack.
What is it? It's like coconut. Yeah, it's like, I don't even know how to describe it.
It's like a cream of chicken soup looking thing on top. But I don't know what it. How do you describe that?
It's just like a casserole of things I've never had.
vine, but it tastes really good. Pineapple?
Pineapple. That's not, that's what it is. Pineapple and chicken and something crunchy on top.
Yeah, these little, yes. I need it. Wow, I haven't had that in years. I forgot. I just unlocked
before memory. I remember and we lived in Hawaii. Our neighbors were like, this is kind of an LDS delicacy.
You got to know how to make crepes though, right? Like, have we ever made crepes?
I don't think we ever made crepes. What? We are not breakfast people at all. We don't eat breakfast. We don't
eat breakfast. Skip that. When I think of a classic Utah breakfast, I think of crepes. We are not fitting
the Utah stereotype, I guess.
Goodness.
Dang.
It's because you guys, like,
been to Middle Asia
with the,
with the princess.
We do love
so much.
Asian cuisine.
That is our favorite.
Okay.
Love it.
Yes.
So that's probably ramen.
We did a ton of, like,
ramen.
Yeah, hot pot,
cream barbecue,
Thai food.
What about our,
do you have a,
I can't talk to it now?
Do you have a swig order
that, like, is your go-to?
We don't drink soda.
Goodness.
You guys are literally not hitting
any stereotype.
I know.
We shouldn't live in.
Utah because we don't go any to any of the drink places. I don't love that people normalize
dessert for breakfast. And so that's just not something I do. You are a black belt, so you probably
eat super healthy. Yeah, you're fit. Yeah. I was at the gym. Yeah, we, we, I try not to eat junk food.
Yeah, I could go for some like French toast, you know. That's my favorite, but we still just,
for breakfast, we eat chicken and rice. I think it tastes great, but people just don't really.
They realize they're literally eating dessert for breakfast.
I eat three even though it tastes good.
Okay, all of my stereotypes about like that I just made a bunch of assumptions and I was so off
What is it most of time you're so right?
Okay, what is it that people get wrong about Utah?
What's like an assumption that people are just I don't even know if people get it wrong or I think we're just weird
I think they pretty much nailed it
Yeah, you guys nailed it like everyone I know drinks like we don't drink soda
which is weird because most people do.
And the fact that I don't and she doesn't.
It's weird.
And you don't drink coffee, right?
No.
So no caffeine.
No.
No, we drink caffeine sometimes.
Was what?
Like you, the drink we had this morning.
Sometimes I work with brands and they're really clean ingredients and they have like some
type of natural caffeine.
I love that stuff.
But I don't know.
I don't know why we haven't had to live off of caffeine yet.
No, it's definitely not a need.
I feel like every day.
But I'll drink it if the drinks.
good, not too crazy.
That's funny.
Do you guys, you guys don't have a swig in Arizona, do you?
We actually do.
And our neighbor designed the swig logo.
Oh, dang.
So that's our claim to fame.
That's pretty cool.
Right?
Yeah, it lives down the street from us, so pretty cool stuff.
Okay, so you get married.
That was a year ago.
Life's been crazy since, right?
You guys have been doing a lot of travel.
I saw you guys went to be.
Eastland in Saudi Arabia.
Can you tell us about what the past year is consisted of?
We went to Beastland in Saudi Arabia and it was so cool.
We've been hired out to go to Dubai the last few years.
And so it was just a quick hop away to Saudi Arabia, which is why we had to stop by.
But we've been going to Dubai the last few years.
They've been hiring us out to do some shows.
So yeah, that's been really fun.
They build a Ninja Kids Action Park on the beach every year.
What?
So they've got this big.
billion dollar event in abu-dobby it's the mottian festival mother of the nation event and then
they always build a ninja kids action park and and fly us out this is a term this is a temporary
action park yeah yes it's not a permanent one no a temporary one and it's a huge thing they have
tons of other things on the beach too it's like a mile long maybe not that long but tons of fun
things who is the business partner that's like helping with the action park I think it's just
the government yeah the government
government funds.
They have a lot of tourism.
Like their tourism board does a lot.
Yes.
They're trying to compete with Dubai because Abu Dhabi and Dubai, they're an hour away from each other.
Same country and they're the biggest competitors.
And so they're just trying to one up each other.
We had to hop over see Beast World or Beast Land while we were there.
And it was cool.
I think Jimmy did a great job with Beast Land.
That's crazy.
And the people there loved it and the culture loved it.
I think it was great for their tourism.
It's temporary, right?
Yeah, it's not very.
Just for like only two months or something.
Two or three months.
Have you met Mr. Beast?
I have met him.
No way.
Uh-huh.
I met Jimmy.
You worked with him.
Kind of.
So basically I did a video on my channel.
I flew out to his first Beast Burger location.
Okay.
And we got to go in the back.
We met him for a little bit.
And then I asked if I could just work the Beastburger line because there was like 20,000 people waiting for burgers that day.
So I had, I got to help sell some merch and just hang out with the guys for a little bit.
And it was a fun time.
This was at the first actual physical location that they opened.
The American Dream Mall.
And actually, at the American Dream Mall, the owners of the mall came up to us because his kids were subscribers to the channel.
And they're like, hey, we want you to put a trampoline park or something in our mall.
So now we have an action park because I wanted to go to Beast Burger.
No way.
That is so cool.
How many action parks are there?
I think there's 12 or 13 locations.
fully branded, but there's about 20 in process of being switched over from other
trampoline parks or being built.
So there's about 30.
That's a local one.
That's called,
that's a local park?
I think we have one there.
It's a train.
Yeah.
Okay.
They're in mini ninjas class.
Our kids are in mini ninjas class.
They absolutely love it.
That's so cool.
That's so cool.
But yeah, it's trampoline, ziplines, slides.
Cool.
We do all sorts of things.
That is so fun.
We're actually going to the first opening out of the country in Scotland, I think, this year.
Oh.
Is the first out of the country action park that they're doing.
It's just crazy.
That is so cool.
Do you ever get sick of your family?
We spend a lot of time together.
We spend a lot of time together.
They're great.
And we get to do so much fun things.
But it's a lot more time than most people get to spend with their family.
But they do so good compared to thinking about it.
Yeah.
I'm impressed that they don't fight as much as I would think.
We have a great family dynamic so it works, but I just don't know if life's nest,
I don't know if you're supposed to be around your family 24-7 like we do.
So sometimes it's a lot, but we love it.
We've had a break.
We haven't done much in the last few months.
And so we're going to go on tour and it'll be fun.
That's really cool.
Growing up on a family channel, were you getting paid at the time?
or did you have some sort of like equity stake in in the family business? How does that work?
Because you're still operating, doing shows, touring, right? With ninja kids. How did how did all that get
worked out? It's a great question. I do have an equity stake in the company. And also we get paid
from the tours and things. But when I was a kid, it was a little bit different because we mainly got
paid. We started our own personal channels around the same time. And we mainly got paid from those.
And so a lot, our channels obviously got really successful as Ninja Kids grew.
Yeah.
And so it was kind of as we were working on our own stuff.
And a lot of times something would happen and they'd even throw videos onto our channels.
And so then we would make most of the revenue off our own personal channels, which all kind of grew as we worked on Ninja Kids and the kids channels.
So it all kind of worked out that way.
Wow.
Okay.
So then like everybody, basically every kid within a.
Ninja Kids has her own dedicated personal channel.
Yeah.
And it was almost like we were collaborating when we'd come together.
And then for big things and big events, we always get paid for those.
Okay.
A percentage.
But that's how it mainly went for the YouTube videos.
We would just collaborate together.
And then some people would make the money for that video.
And some people would make the money for that video, just whoever's channel it would go on
pretty much.
Is it true that you guys lived with your in-laws for like a little bit after you got married?
Yeah, it's newlyweds.
Yeah.
Newly wets. Tell me about that. Yeah, living with your in-laws as newlyweds. I want to hear from your
perspective. Yes, we did. So we got married and about a month after we got married, we went on a
tour for 12 weeks and we lived on a bus with my in-laws. Yeah, it was awesome. Honestly, I was
little nervous going on this thing. Twelve weeks is a really long time. I had never gone anywhere
that long in my life. Where are you going from? Like, from what city to what city? So we had 50 cities
across the U.S.
So we didn't leave the country,
but we went to basically
every major city in the country.
Okay, well, 50 cities,
12 weeks, how many days is that?
You're doing a show,
multiple shows a week.
Five shows a week.
Wow.
Yes.
So it was...
Were you in the show?
I wasn't.
I worked behind the show,
so their dog is also in the show.
I was in charge of their dog.
Cute.
So me and her hung out all the time,
and I helped her get on and off
And then I also worked the VIP in Meet and Greet's because I wanted to be a part of it too.
And so I got to work with that and it was so fun.
Yeah.
And we were also on a different bus than my family.
Yeah.
There was two big buses.
And each bus had a room in the back like the suite.
And so we took the suite of the crew bus because we were the only other couple.
Yeah.
And then my family was on the other bus.
A couple nights we would go over there to play games with my siblings and stuff.
Cute.
Yeah.
So we had a good time.
but for the most part, we were on a different bus.
And that made it a little more manageable
because during the day, it's not like we were just with them the whole time.
We had our own space to sleep in a full room and stuff, which helps.
But it honestly was awesome.
It was way better than I expected.
I feel like I actually got really close with his siblings.
It was just a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
I've never thought I would go on tour.
And so I actually thought it was great, way better than I expected.
Yeah.
How do you sleep?
Like, are you sleeping while the bus moves?
Yes.
So we never knew where we were going to end up usually.
We just would go to bed and wake up in a new city.
And it was great.
But yeah, it got rocky some nights, especially going through the mountains or wherever we were driving it.
People would get car sick sometimes.
It would wake you up because you're shaking so bad.
So, but you get used to it, I feel like.
You can't use the bathroom on the bus.
You can't shower on the bus.
You can't use the bathroom on the bus?
You can't go number two.
Oh, yes.
The number one rule is you can't go number two is what they always say.
sick. I don't know why, but. Did anybody ever go number two? I don't think so. They said it was like a
$500 fine or something. Well, some people got sick and they like threw up in there and they got in trouble
for that. You're like, what do you do? I know because no, like where do we go? Oh, okay. Yeah, that's one of those
things you don't think about. Like I feel like I was like romanticizing this bus a little bit. And now I'm like,
no, it was terrible. And the first, the first leg, we got lucky because my parents bust smelled
so bad. Like urine. Just when they got it. Yeah. I smelled so bad. Something wrong with the pipes
were broken. So our bus was totally normal and their bus they couldn't hang out in the family
room area. We had a little. So sick. Yeah, we had a little break in between and then we went back
out on tour and their bus was much better. That's when we were able to go and play games. But
I kind of felt bad for them those first few weeks. They had a stinky bus. I'm just picturing
an entire herd of like little children doing like,
Ninja moves while watching you guys perform.
Is that what, is that what this looks like?
Kind of.
It was really fun.
You should.
You should.
Are we coming to Arizona this next year?
No, I think we're staying on the East Coast because it's a much shorter tour this year.
It's only two weeks.
Yeah.
Really quick.
We'll travel.
I mean, they would love.
We could get you tickets.
They think they're ninjas.
They think they're ninjas.
It's so awesome.
That's, yeah.
Except they can't say ninjas.
They say engines.
Yeah.
Our youngest, instead of calling it many ninjas, he calls it many.
Any engines.
That's actually where they're having their birthday party.
I'm giving way too.
Wait, that's true.
You got to shut that out.
Oh, yeah.
No one.
Yeah, we don't.
It is actually the coolest show.
You would think you'd go and it's just like a little kid show, but it's a full storyline scripted show.
I've watched it, what, over 50 times now?
And it's actually so entertaining.
You guys would love it.
We've had many parents come up to us and just be like, I didn't expect to come with my kids and enjoy it.
Yes.
Because we do a lot of fun stuff, acrobatics type things.
and then it's very interactive with the kids, which is fun.
That's so cool.
Your parents were always entrepreneurs, right?
Because if they started this martial arts gym,
so they had the base knowledge of how to run something like this,
but I'm sure they never intended on it becoming what it has become, like to this size.
That is pretty wild.
That's pretty cool.
So everyone in your family did have to be a ninja, I guess, apparently.
Pretty much.
Imagine marrying into a family where all of them have the most insane skills.
You show up and everyone's just hucking backflips and splurly.
Can you do a backflip?
I'm learning.
I can do it on the tramp.
We just made a video where he taught me to do a backflip in like four hours on the ground.
She faced planted a few times.
I face planted a few times, but I got it a couple other times.
Cute.
But they're just a very athletic, skilled family.
I think that's sweet.
You're like trying to learn the family train.
Yes.
All of them are doing 50 pull-ups.
I'm like, okay.
Here we go.
This hasn't been announced yet, but we are.
are going to be in the circus this year.
They called us and they want us to come
do a couple shows and the, what is it?
What's the circus called?
It's the biggest circus.
Rigby or something.
Rick and, no, we'll have to look at it.
I don't know what it's called.
Ringling.
Ringling brothers.
Yeah.
That's amazing.
Yeah, we're going to be on the Ringling Brothers circus.
Yeah.
That would be a good time.
You guys need to do a residency in Vegas.
Seriously.
Seriously.
Yeah, that'd be fun.
No, actually for real.
but wait maybe that's not
maybe that's family friendly
in Vegas yeah maybe Branson
but maybe it'd be good to have a family friendly
friendly show in Vegas
because families go to Vegas
hold up no this is where your resume
she would be
Branson Missouri is like have you guys heard of
Dollywood in
yeah in like Tennessee
so Branson has a very similar
you know vibe to that
there's Silver Dollar City which is
actually owned by the same company
that owns Dollywood
but there's just a ton of different
country music artists.
But there's also like a lot of family performers.
Family performers.
Like family singer groups, just all sorts of family shows.
That would be like Branson Missouri would love you guys.
Branson would be very grateful to have it.
Exactly.
All wholesome.
You know, nothing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Very different than like a Vegas show.
Honestly, it's like a very wholesome version of Vegas in a way.
Cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You guys need to go visit.
We're always pushing Branson.
Branson.
That's my childhood.
Branson, Missouri.
Branson, Missouri.
That's awesome.
Thank you to Lisa for sponsoring this portion of today's episode.
We recently swapped out one of the mattresses in our house for a Lisa mattress, and let me just say,
the delivery experience was a dream.
It came shipped straight to our door.
It was vacuum sealed, and all you literally have to do is open that packaging and just watch
that mattress grow.
It was a great experience.
I feel like mattresses can be daunting because it's a massive, heavy thing.
but that was made about as simple as it possibly could be.
Thanks to Lisa.
Lisa has a lineup of beautifully crafted mattresses tailored to how you sleep.
Each mattress is designed with specific sleep positions and feel preferences in mind.
From night one, you'll feel the difference.
Premium materials that deliver serious comfort and full body support no matter how you sleep.
Just take the Lisa sleep quiz and you'll find your perfect match in two minutes or less.
And this mattress, you guys, is so comfortable.
Like they said, they have something for everyone on the market,
but for us personally, we love a firmer mattress on the bottom,
but with a pillowy soft top.
It is so comfortable.
And sleep is really, really important to both of us.
When you can get it, I want it to be high quality,
and the mattress is key to that.
So definitely recommend Lisa mattresses.

What's like the most common question people ask you guys
when they see you out and about?
They see you in public.
I mean, I always get the question, the pregnancy question.
When are you having kids?
When are you having kids?
When is the next ninja babies?
They always ask me that.
But what's another question?
They always like, Ninja 2.0.
That's funny.
One thing they always ask, my family stopped making
content for a long time. And so they haven't made videos on Ninja Kids for a couple of years.
And Ninja Fam, it's been over a year. No way. So one thing, they'll ask about that. And we're
mainly the only ones making consistent content. Okay. So there's been talks about revamping Ninja
Fam. I've also, there's been talks of revamping Ninja Kids. And there's a chance I'll be like a
producer and Ninja Kids to create the content and bring on a new generation of Ninja Kids. Because we
love for this Ninja Kids to be a brand that grows well beyond our family. That's cool. It wasn't
meant to be a family channel. Even from the first video, we had tons of other actors in it.
And I was, I wasn't a main character. I was like a bully and then there were several other
power Rangers. And so it was meant to be a brand that could, you know, rival Disney one day. And so
the action parks is like the first step to that. And so the goal of Ninja Kids is to create content
with future kids, which there's a lot of really talented kids out there.
And we want to give those kids a chance to shine.
And I think they used to have a chance in Hollywood, but that it's gone pretty much.
Hollywood doesn't need people who are really good at stuff anymore because
CGI is really good.
All the old martial art actors are like the last one was, you know, who is Shark Boy.
I forget his name.
He was in Twilight.
Taylor-Larner.
Taylor-Larner.
We've had them on our podcast.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, I watched it.
Taylor Loudner, he's great.
But you don't pronounce his name like that.
What was it?
Loudner.
Loudner.
I learned that from you guys.
I was like, wow.
Sorry, continue.
But Taylor Louder, he was like the last person that was really skilled to get into that world.
And it's not really a thing.
And so we'd love to give more kids opportunities and then to grow the brand into something
that lives for a long time beyond our family.
I can already see a show coming out of this.
honestly, finding the next ninja kids.
Yes.
Like kids would think that was so cool and fun to try out for.
The new ninja kids.
That's a really great idea.
I like that.
We want ninja kids to keep going.
It's got huge potential.
And so finding great kids is honestly the easy part.
It's finding great adults to run the content.
And my family and my dad, there was so much happening and so much going on that we couldn't
keep everything up.
So we're trying to build the team from the bottom up to potentially restart the content to bring you back to life.
I'm confused though because, okay, two things.
One, I looked at the Ninja Kids channel.
I saw that you guys posted nine months ago.
Was that like a collab?
It was probably a compilation.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Okay, that makes sense.
And then the other question it had is, did you leave?
I thought I saw a video that was like, I left.
I'm gone from the Ninja fam.
Right.
That was probably when I left on my main.
mission.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
So there was like, and I'm leaving.
I think it was after that.
It was like shopping for a house.
Oh, yeah.
I'm leaving the Ninja Fam house.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, so that's what it would have been.
That was on my channel, actually.
But it also was because there was different ninja kids.
You guys aren't kids anymore.
Right.
And so you guys had other people acting on Ninja Kids TV.
And so he kind of was like, I'm going to focus on my main.
We actually did try that.
We did a talent search.
Yes.
And the talent search was really successful.
The kids were awesome.
It did well.
But that was also when we were handing off, not just new kids,
but new creatives, and the creatives just didn't have what it took to keep the brand going.
And so my dad just shut it down until we can find creatives who can continue with new kids.
But yeah, left the Ninja Fam, moved out of the house.
That was just before we got married, I moved into an apartment with a friend.
And so that was that video.
Was going on your mission?
Was that, was that humbling?
Was that like just to go from being on camera a lot?
and, you know, people recognizing you.
I'm sure you still got recognized for your mission.
But you have to go and, like, commit yourself to service.
Was that kind of like a hard shift to get used to?
I loved it, honestly, because I had been doing YouTube since I was a kid.
Okay.
And it was honestly the perfect time in my life.
I just became an adult.
It was the perfect time to leave and go experience something else rather than what I
grew up in. It wasn't just me being a YouTuber. It was about it was time to go be selfless and see what
the rest of the world is like. Yeah. And of course I still had a lot on my mission. I did get recognized.
I did a couple assemblies and things like that because yeah. So that was fun.
So I explain that for people that don't know what you're talking about like what is what is this
assembly that you did. Right. So in one of my areas that I was in there was. There was,
a school teacher and she she knew about the ninja kid stuff and she was like hey you should come to my
school and do an assembly at the school and so I think that was a really cool opportunity my mission president
was going to say did you have to get special permissions yeah so basically the leader of the mission
I called him up and he said that's fine he was a big fan of using your talents and I didn't go up
and preach we didn't talk about the church at all okay I had a name tag on but besides
that it basically wasn't mission related very much. I just went up. I did a few flips,
talked to kids. Ninja Kids is a great thing for family values, which align well with religion and
Christianity. And so it was more about being a great person and showing respect to your parents.
And that definitely comes from our martial arts background as well. So we were able to share
some of those things. We did some challenges with the kids at the school. And I think it was super
cool opportunity.
That's really sweet.
That's cool.
Okay, I'm just so curious, this is such a dumb question, but martial arts versus
taekwondo versus karate, what is, is martial arts both of those?
Is what's the, I had that same question.
I don't know.
I need to know because I need to sign some kids up.
So martial arts is, I'm sure you've heard MMA.
So mixed martial arts, mixed meaning basically all different styles.
you're learning different styles.
So it's karate taekwondo.
And so I did martial arts.
Our base was tequendo,
but we did jujitsu, grappling,
moitai,
and all of those things are kind of different.
And so martial arts is just
enveloping all the different
fighting styles together,
basically,
and learning those things.
So tequizabetho is more traditional,
like, forms,
and it's very,
and...
I liked watching you do MMA.
Boxing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Have you fought somebody before?
Have you ever, like, punched somebody in the face?
So I've done sparring with full gear.
I've never been in a street fight or anything.
I don't know why as a kid I always kind of wanted to.
I'm not the kind of person to hop into a fight, but I always felt like I'd do pretty good.
You're like, I'd be ready if it happened to happen.
But I did do sparring, especially as a kid I did a lot of sparring.
That's cool.
That was a fun time.
I feel like it would suck to get punched in the face, dude.
Broken nose.
You probably had some serious injuries.
Yeah, I've broken 10 bones.
Oh, my.
How?
Walk us through all things.
That's a great.
Okay, let's see.
I've broken my collarbone.
This was Christmas Eve sledding into a tree.
Okay.
Not ninja-related.
I don't think any of them are ninja-related.
Nothing too crazy.
I mean, this one was gymnastics.
I broke my elbow.
That sounds really painful, actually.
So I was vaulting.
I don't, the event, the vault.
And I was just doing a roundoff.
It was a simple thing and it was just kind of hyper extended.
Oh.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh.
I've broken both my wrists.
I've broken my knee, some fingers and toes and I don't know.
Yeah.
Ten total.
A couple other things.
Yeah.
Luckily, I haven't had anything huge.
I've never needed a major surgery.
And so nothing.
You did just get stung by a deadly jellyfish.
True.
I did see that thumbnail.
That looks pretty intimidating.
Deadly?
Yeah.
So it was a Portuguese Manor War and they can be.
Was it in Hawaii?
It was in Mexico.
Yeah.
Okay.
That happened to Abby.
She got sung by a Portuguese Man Award.
Yeah.
We think.
That's what all of our neighborhood local kids were like, that's what that is.
Oh, okay.
They told us.
It wasn't super bad, but it was not good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I peed on it.
It was crazy.
No, you did not.
And also, it was, I didn't get sung bad.
But, yeah.
Oh, that's still.
It was not fun.
Yeah.
It did not feel good.
And I never felt like my life was in danger, luckily, but it was really painful.
I got stung on the calf and something about how it works.
It just goes up your nervous system.
And so it hurt really bad in my groin and then like up my stomach.
All the locals are spraying with windex.
Apparently that helps the,
they didn't feel like it helped.
This doesn't feel right.
Yeah.
You're supposed to not put this on your body.
But the best thing was jumping in the hot.
to that was that kept the pain from spreading and I don't know if it would have ever been a permanent
thing or actually harmful but it was really painful an hour or two that's freaky
in Mexico you're kind of like okay what do yeah I didn't want to go to the hospital if I needed to
what are the craziest things you guys have traveled a ton already where are some of the craziest
things like have you skydived have you we have gone skydiving I would say for me the crazy
thing we did. We flew to London
for the weekend and we went wing walking. Do you
guys know what that is? Oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh. I think so, but describe it to me.
Yes, you're literally strapped on the top of an airplane
while it's flying. It was crazy.
And we did a loop. Loopty loops.
While I was on top of the airplane, it was so cool.
It was crazy. I thought my face was going to fall off.
Oh, yeah, do all that stuff before you have to do it.
Because I think afterwards,
my fear has gotten so much worse.
Has it? I'm sure. I don't understand.
The plane goes and.
You're just strapped on and it goes, you're on.
Oh, so they, the plane goes upside out.
This was in London?
Yeah.
I would not have thought this was a London excursion.
So it got shut down here.
Okay.
Why do you get shut down here?
Because it sounds, that's a whole not right.
So the main guy that did it here in the U.S.
Did something really dangerous with two children.
I think it was his grandkids.
They were like 11 years old and he had them not strapped in.
He just had them hold on to the part of the plane while he did a loop-de-loop and brought him back down.
No.
So they didn't fall.
I don't know how they held on to the plane.
No.
Would they have parachutes?
on? I have no idea. I heard the
I don't know. You have to wear a parachute when you do this thing.
No. How are you not? What?
They strapped you in with like a good harness and you just are standing there?
No, I'm wearing a parachute. Did you tell your parents before you did this or did you just
do it? They're all on board. My parents. I don't think I told today. You were raised by different
people. Her parents are adrenaline junkies. They're crazy awesome. My parents, my mom gets really
nervous. We tell her mom after we do. My mom is this kindest soul, but you're, but you're,
Yeah, she was a little nervous, so I just don't tell her things until after.
So, like, I got Scoop is certified and she was stressed after I told her that.
Yeah.
What'd she say about wing walking?
Oh, I don't even know.
Can you remember?
She tries not to react.
She tries to pretend like she's cool, but it really stresses her out.
But I need someone in my life that keeps me like that.
But she cares a lot.
Yeah, I'm skydive certified.
So I took her skydiving.
Yeah.
And so we went, and that was a fun time.
That's so cool.
Yeah.
And we, like, she got Scoot up.
was certified for our honeymoon and we went scuba diving with sharks. Some sharks that made me nervous.
Yeah. But it turned up great. That's cool. That's awesome. Okay. We did ask our audience to submit some questions for you guys.
Okay. And if it's okay, the first one is from Lizzie. She said, what was your first big argument in marriage?
Oh. Our first big argument. We never argue. I can't even think of one.
For second, I could tell if you were serious. No, that was big argument.
No, we're pretty good.
But, you know, everyone has something.
I can't, can you think of a first big argument?
Well, when I was watching the Brock and Boston one, Brock and Kessley, I related to the toilet
paper being the wrong for sure.
Oh my.
She puts the toilet paper on wrong.
That's funny.
Which way does she put it on?
Towards the wall.
Wrong, I guess.
You know what I mean?
So like, it comes down towards the wall.
Well, she doesn't do it on purpose.
That's not why she prefers.
She just doesn't think about it like I do.
Oh, you just like throw out.
You just put the roll on there.
things you think about. I just like put it on. Yeah. Exactly. He just sets it on top.
Yeah. I'm like half the time you don't even put it on the roll. What are you even? You just
set it right on top? Sometimes you know if I'm going to rush if I'm scrambling and I'm like, oh no,
we're out. It takes no time by the way. It's a lot of work to put that thing on there.
It's true. But getting used to living with someone where you're obviously we have a lot of similarities,
but we're inherently different. One example, I'm a lot more introverted.
than she is. She's more extroverted. Most people don't know that because I grew up on YouTube,
but it's a skill I've had to grow. And so she's always like, feels like I'm never responding to her.
When I'm like, I just, I'm not talking right now. I don't feel like I need to talk. And she's always
talking. And it's just a different life experience getting to learn and grow together.
Yeah, really learning and different personality. It's been really fun. But different. Do you have different times
that you both are wanting to go to bed because I feel like that was a major hurdle that we still
we finally resolved but that was like he was like such a night out and I was like it's time for bed
like what are we doing here like did you feel like that was a heart or were you guys already
aligned that's better to go into marriage align that was one of our best things we're very aligned we're
very on it she will not go to sleep without me it's never happened it's so fun it's the best
it's the best thing about make merry is that you don't have to sleep alone yes exactly
What time is bedtime for you guys?
We just started a new routine.
As of today.
Yeah.
This morning we woke up.
We waking up is hard for us.
We love staying up late and sleeping.
We're night owls.
Yes.
But we woke up at 6.30 this morning.
And that's what we want our new routine to be.
So we go to bed around 10 or 10.30.
We were really proud of ourselves today.
Yeah.
We got a full workout in before we usually wake up.
It was great.
But usually, I don't know, between 8 and 9 is usually.
we wake up, but we're trying to do earlier just so we can be more productive during the day.
I think one really hard thing in our marriage has been because we're entrepreneurs and we're always
thinking about business and we're always working. It's hard to know when that time is that we can spend
that time together and enjoy our marriage. We never clock out. I'm sure you guys feel that too. We're learning
how how do we clock out because our brains are always thinking about the next thing. I don't know if you
ever figure it out. I don't know. No, I feel like we force ourselves to clock out. Well, I feel like, see,
I feel yes.
So when you have kids, it's easier because they get you on a schedule and you know that you have to be there and be present for them.
So like five o'clock is like hard.
What's hard for me is like my brain, like even was like I dropped out of college to do TikTok.
But before I did that, like how I got through college and high school and, you know, even got good grades was just always, always just like working at the night at nighttime.
And so like growing our huge channel, growing our, yeah, YouTube, TikTok, growing everything.
I've always just been a night owl as well.
And just over the past like year, I've kind of turned to just spend all that time with Abby.
But now I feel incredibly lazy because I'm not getting nearly as much done than I used to.
Yes, we get that.
So we're like, so we're like, if we wake up earlier, maybe we'll feel productive enough.
We have some quality time.
Did it work out?
Yeah.
I mean, I believe in you guys.
I believe in you guys.
I'll mess it up.
I believe, yeah, you will figure it out.
You're going to make it happen.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Another question.
This question came from Hannah.
It says, how did you know you were meant to be together?
Aw.
Kind of talked a lot of us.
You can start.
I think a huge sign was just she was a person that I could see my ideal life with.
And we loved adventure and we wanted a similar path.
And I think there's so many amazing people out there.
are so many amazing girls, but not very many people that have the same vision for life
and what that looks like because there's so many different paths that you can go, that you can go
down. So I think just finding someone that has a similar path and a similar moral compass
that we can come together and feel like we click and someone that was my best friend. I think those
were my, my most important things I was looking for. And I think she filled those boxes. And we
met in the coolest way. I'm like, it must be fate. So, um, but yeah, we just had a really great time
dating and our lives meshed really well. And, and I think that's how I knew that we,
that we should get married. You put that so beautifully. Now how do I top that? I would say something
similar. I was really looking for a good, genuine person that wanted the same life as me as well.
And also my goal, I would love to be a mom. And I was looking for someone that would be a great
dad and I seen him with all these cute subscribers and he's just so sweet and so nice so I was just
looking for a good person that's great yeah that's really sweet you guys that is really sweet
this next one is from grace crossly I don't know okay yeah great this is from grace
she said what is it like living apart from family for the first time hmm I guess that's more
question geared towards you yeah so I did have about six months before jade and I got married
married. Oh, actually, I served a mission. So as a part, I was ready. I've always been the person
to want the next thing. And my younger brother, Ashton, he's not that way. But I've always been
the person who's just ready to do the next thing. So I was ready to move out and go experience that.
And I get to see my family enough. We still see them multiple times a week. And so I still feel
very close to them, but I was ready to do my own thing. I wanted to grow up and I wanted to experience
life and I wanted to grow. And there's just some things you can't learn when you're in your parents'
house. And so I just wanted to get out and experience the world and, you know, have to figure
things out on my own. I like that. I like what you said right there. What's something that you've learned
since leaving your parents' house, something that you really couldn't have learned from them and
you had to just learn through experience. Yeah, I think one big thing is my, my life was very scheduled
for me. Okay. Like we did gymnastics, martial arts, we'd film YouTube videos, but learning to
schedule your own life, put your own priorities, learn to, you know, pay bills and do the normal
life, go grocery shopping for yourself and really not have someone always looking out for you,
which having a great mother who can do that is such a blessing.
but it's also a great skill that you need to learn because if you don't learn it,
you're going to feel like you're behind.
And if I didn't already know some of those things going to marriage,
then that might have felt more awkward for you because you would have been my new mom
having to take care of me.
But I wanted to, I've always been very self-sufficient in that way.
I like it.
Thank you to Nutrifle for sponsoring this portion of today's episode.
Summer is full of vacations, weekend getaways, and spending more time outdoors.
And when you're packing for a trip, the last thing you want to be worrying about is your hair.
That's one reason I've loved having Nutrifle as part of my routine.
It's helped me feel more confident about my hair, whether I'm headed to the beach,
exploring a new city, or just enjoying a long weekend away.
With all the time that we spend in and out of the water during the summer months,
getting your hair wet can feel really daunting if you're experiencing hair thinning.
It just makes your scalp more exposed.
You notice it more.
And it's just not a good feeling, especially as a woman.
And that is why I personally really, really love.
Nutraful. Nutraful is the number one dermatologist recommended hair growth supplement brand,
and it's the number one hair growth supplement brand personally used by dermatologists.

This one says, do you miss doing parkour?
And what was your favorite thing about it?
Yeah, I love parkour.
I honestly need to create time to do more.
You know where this lies on the realm of martial arts.
Is it the same thing?
Yeah, no, that's completely different.
He has so many talents.
I don't even know.
Yeah, parkour is basically getting from point A to point B as fast as possible.
And so that's like vaulting and flipping over walls and things like that.
So I loved parkour.
And I honestly haven't been doing very much Ninja Warrior.
I haven't been doing very much parkour or even martial arts.
The main training I've been doing is what I'm doing in the shows.
But the rest I've been really busy.
And so that's something I need to make sure I hone my skills because I'm going to lose them if I don't do them at all.
So I need to get back out there every once in a while.
and I'm a little bit bigger than I was when I was doing parkour a lot in Ninja Warrior,
so I could lose 10 pounds probably and make it a little easier.
But yeah.
It's so funny.
Maya says what was the best part about touring?
And then she also had the follow-up of what was the hardest part.
So whichever one comes to you first.
I can say my favorite part of touring, I met so many cute and awesome people.
It was just a time to actually put the people on the screen.
watch us on the screen. I got to meet them in person. How cool is that to fully see who you're who's
watching you. It was great. Yeah, it's more than a number and being able to impact lives that that was a
really great thing to see because my dad had a vision when he started ninja kids to impact people's
lives to go out there and do more than just watch YouTube and to go out on tour and see that we're
successful and have fun and see all these lives that we touched was you know that's honestly
why we do it and why we're going to do it again i the show aspect is fun but it's nothing near getting
when does the next tour start uh is it august september time end of august sometime cool you say that's more
the east coast yeah i forgot about that but what was what was the worst part what was the hardest part
Maybe sleeping on that.
I was gonna say I was tired a lot.
What else would you say?
It was really hard to be productive outside of touring
because it took up your whole life.
And almost we were so busy outside of tour
that it was almost we had to put our lives on pause.
So it was really nice getting home.
Going home was great after tour.
That's true.
We couldn't make as many videos because it was busy.
Yeah, because I love touring, but it's not my life.
It's not something.
I don't want to be a tour person.
I don't want to have to do shows.
constantly. I think a couple weeks out of the year is great. I don't think I wouldn't have done
the 12 weeks again, honestly, this year. It was a great one-time experience, but I don't think I would
have done it again. For you, it was hard on your body. You hurt your back really bad. I forgot about
that. I mean, I just got sore just doing the same thing every day. And so I don't think I'm a
constant performer for the rest of my life. So I don't think I'll be opening a show in Vegas,
but going out for a couple weeks and meeting the people.
That's cool. Yeah. That's what I enjoyed. Okay, so you just like casually mentioned America Ninja Warrior while we were talking. It got me thinking about what your experience was like competing in that show. Can you tell us about that? Yeah. We love American Ninja Warrior. And actually, we started Ninja Kids and they called us and was like, hey, we want you on our show. That was when we were a little bit younger. I was 14 and they were opening the American Ninja Warrior Jr. show. So we had never done Ninja before. And then,
we went out, started practicing, we went on the show. We all completed the course at a buzzer,
but none of us got close to winning or anything. But then me and my siblings, we loved it,
so we kept training. And then we all got to go on the adult show together, all together on the
same season. And so it was a really cool experience to go out there. Honestly, I did pretty bad
on the adult show. I saw a video. Yeah. You looked really good. Like there was a TikTok
I saw where you're going from thing to thing
and you somehow were on this wheel
and like went up
like the like one wheel
was like lower than the other wheel.
Be a graphic on the screen
because I'm not getting good.
Do you throw a video on the screen of this?
Yeah.
Like it was crazy how you just
flew in the air upwards.
Yeah. I think I'm a
I think I'm a decent ninja.
I didn't go in expecting to win
but I fell on balance.
And so balance is really tricky
because it's hit or miss.
It can
take out, even if you're really good, because one tiny miss-up. When you're doing hanging obstacles,
it's really how strong are you and you can get it pretty consistent every time. But balance is a
hard thing, especially when it's a balance course you've never tried before. So I fell on balance
and it was like third or fourth obstacle. So that was disappointing. But the next year,
the rest of my siblings went on again. I didn't compete again. I should have. My sister airs
tonight, actually. No way. Yeah. And, but yeah, I,
I thought it was a cool opportunity.
And my siblings, that's what they do,
majority of their time is train and American Injew.
Yeah, that's their main focus.
How do you make money doing that?
You don't make a lot of money doing that?
I don't think they've ever made money off of doing it
besides potentially making YouTube videos about it.
But they're like world champions.
They're on the USA team.
Yeah, my brother, Ashton, he's really good.
and he won world finals in Sweden.
That's so.
That's pretty cool.
My sister Payton got second.
Goodness.
So they're pretty good.
Paxon's pretty good too, but he's in the same competitive realm as his older brother.
And so it's hard to compete.
Yeah, I was going to ask, are you guys really competitive with each other?
We're really competitive.
We've done tons of challenges.
And the competitiveness is real.
Is it ever like actually hurt your relationships or is it just like fun competition?
No, we can get upset for sure.
I think our relationships are strong enough.
We work through it.
But it's a real big deal.
We just did a challenge recently.
Honestly, it'll probably be our last YouTube challenge we do in that way.
And it's coming out this next week.
But I don't think we're going to do much competition because we're changing so much.
I'm not training as much as I used to.
so I'm falling behind.
I don't want to.
That's like their main priority.
And then my younger brother,
Paxton,
has a hard time sometimes keeping up
just because of the age difference.
So I don't know if we'll do much competing in YouTube videos anymore,
but we'll always be competitive on who's better.
Ashton,
he wrote in his 10-year goal to beat me at an arm wrestle.
He'll never beat me.
He'll never beat me.
He'll never be able to.
But he's training.
So I got to make sure.
I got to make sure I stay up to shape.
But yeah, we're very competitive.
I know that someone on the recent Mr. Beast Games,
there's a couple Ninja Warriors on the show.
Yeah, I know both of them.
You know them both?
Yeah.
Yeah, I think Beast Games would be really cool.
It's a little different coming from an influencer perspective.
I'd love to be a part of Beast Games and maybe go collaborate.
I don't know if I necessarily need to go sign up and compete for the money.
But I think he did a great job on the series.
But Ian Weber, who won the island, he coaches my siblings.
Oh, really?
He's the coolest guy.
Yeah, he's great.
No way.
What a small world.
Yeah.
And actually right after the, after the episode aired, he called up my parents and was like,
what do I do with this much money?
Because I think my parents were like the only ones he knew that had money.
And so he came over.
They're smart with their money.
Wait, I actually saw followups.
He bought some cars.
didn't he? No, no. That was just, that was fake. Okay, few. He's very smart. We're good.
That's funny. You're like, your parents were like, buy a bunch of luxury cars.
Best advice. You're like, I have a great plan for you. Yeah. But he got all the money, so he hasn't
paid taxes yet. So it's about maximizing how much he can earn through a money market or something
before he has to pay taxes. And so that was a kind of cool thing. You even talking about just like
all these like logistics behind the scenes, your parents,
I guess how do they set you up to be where you are today?
Like where you're like independent.
You're still in the entrepreneurial space.
You didn't want to leave it.
But you're recreating something your own.
Like that's probably a big question to ask.
But I'm just interested from a parent perspective.
My parents were raised very differently.
My dad didn't have a father figure in the home.
And my, my grandma married four different guys throughout his childhood.
and so he didn't have a strong family.
He left home at 17 and he was on his own.
And so it was up to him.
And it was up to him to learn.
And he had a lot of failures and successes just learning through the pains of what most people don't learn.
And so he wanted to set us up in a different way because he wasn't set up like that.
my mom had a more normal childhood with she had parents and stuff but she still didn't have parents
who taught her about money finances and so that was very important to them to teach to us because
you're right the education system doesn't do a great job at teaching those things um so that was
very important to them to to make sure we understood those things are you are you putting money aside
for retirement yeah yeah we've got money let's go let's go boy
That's awesome.
Yeah.
Okay.
Are you a part of the money conversations just out of curiosity?
Yes.
We, obviously he's taking the reins on it just because he's so educated in it.
But yes, I'm a part of every conversation.
We work together.
We work together, literally every conversation.
She knows about it, but she just lets me handle it.
See, yeah, I, this is my, we've done stuff with the Ramsey financial.
Oh, yeah.
And every time I'm like, I'm going to do better.
And then every time Matt starts talking about money,
I'm like, ah.
Abby took me to a money and marriage retreat where like the whole retreat is about like growing
your marriage and then also talking about like how to have money conversation.
And I'm like, all right babe, we're going to have a like we're going to do a meeting about
our finances.
And she was like, please no.
Like I don't want.
Let's not do that.
It makes me nauseous.
I don't know anything about it.
So that's why I'm like, I can't start now.
It starts to stress me out a little bit too.
Do you see how my brain is functioning?
If you start saying ETFs, I literally will check out.
Yeah, well, I've had some investments not do great.
Like, she doesn't want to hear about my crypto right now.
That's, that's been down.
We still beat crypto is like 1% of your portfolio.
It's larger than 1%.
Okay.
All right.
Less than 10%.
I'm hopeful.
Oh, God.
But you have an investment in an Indy Kids Action Park in Texas.
True.
You own the majority of that, and that's cool.
That's fun to go see.
That's a good one.
Yeah, we have other investments.
Yeah, other great ones.
She doesn't want to hear when they're doing poor.
And that's the one.
example. So maybe she's like half involved
as long as it's doing well.
Yeah. I like positivity about that.
It's weird because like it kind of feels like gambling.
I mean,
it's not.
It's very different.
I don't know. It kind of feels like I'm going to put my money in here
and just see if it grows.
I could lose it.
Well, the thing with the Ninja Kids Action Park is he has
not that. Not that. Not that.
He has a vested interest in.
Yes. I'm talking about
random.
Like crypto.
Like crypto.
He's using his name and likeness to
grow this thing you know see I'm just amazed I'm like how did your parents raise
entrepreneurs I see Addie's like let's get to the okay okay okay all right back now we're
going to play agree to disagree I think these are the same questions you asked Brock
Brock and Boston they are I'm looking at them yes okay this what this let's start
with this one I'm gonna come in hot guns of blazing are we ready first one is
agree to disagree flirting is cheating
Three, two, one.
I agree.
Agree.
Okay.
Why do you think it's agree?
I think if you're intentionally flirting, I think sometimes people can be really unintentional.
But if you're like, I'm flirting with this person.
Like, that's not cool.
Do you say that when you're flirting?
Like, I'm flirting.
No, but like if you came to me and you're intentionally flirting with someone, that's not cool.
But if you were accidentally like, oh, I think that's really cool that you do, I can be like, you're kind of flirting.
I wouldn't really care.
But it's more of your intention, I guess.
Do one of you tend to be like a little bit more jealous type than the other?
Probably, probably me, I'd say.
Yeah, I'd probably say I'm more jealous.
You answered that so quickly.
I would think so.
I don't think you're overly jealous, but I think, I don't know, maybe I'm more chill personality about that.
I don't know.
She's more chill.
I think she had more relationships.
She likes to flirt.
I just like to flirt all the time.
Yeah.
She was more of a flirt in high school.
Oh my goodness.
And I wasn't around as much.
He dated one girl for a long time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I had a couple of boyfriends.
Okay.
I'm gonna...
How about you just take over?
Because I'm just not...
I guess...
I don't know if we're saying if we agree or not.
I'm going to say, though, what bugs me is if someone...
Now, this is going to make me look like I've done this.
I have not...
Oh, no.
Nor whatever do this.
Where is this going?
But like, when someone's like, did you hear that this person like cheated?
And you're like, oh my gosh.
It's like, yeah, they kissed some...
And it's, I'm like, you got to, you got to like specify for me.
Yeah, what kind of cheating.
Yeah, yeah.
There's a scale.
The type of cheating, right?
Because if someone's like they cheated and it's like, oh, they, they kissed this person
at a bar.
Like, that's not cool.
You don't do that.
Yeah.
Or pump the brakes on that.
Yeah.
But that's also like, there's a huge difference between that.
Right.
And like the actual.
Yeah.
I get what you were saying.
Because like the flirting, I would be like, okay, that's kind of not cool.
You wouldn't just call that cheating.
Right.
I wouldn't be mad.
It's not like.
It's not like, we're done.
You flirt it.
No, I wouldn't do that.
But we would just have a conversation if we were uncomfortable or something.
We're done.
We're done.
Yeah, it would take more than that to be done.
Yeah.
Agree to disagree.
Couples should combine their finances after getting married.
Oh, see, we're back to finances.
We love finances.
Three, two, one.
Agree.
I would agree with that.
that's good i'm even stronger on this one than the last one for sure i think it's really important if
you're going to be a team with someone i think it's a great thing to combine and do things together
and especially money is really hard for a lot of people and you know if you're not doing it as a
team it's going to be more difficult and if you're not yeah so i'd rather do it as a team than
separately are you anti pre-nup um no we have a pre-nup you go we signed a pre-term
You guys signed a pre-up.
Yeah.
We did.
No, I want to know more.
Yeah, so we have a pre-up.
It just felt like the smart thing to do.
My parents had talked, even her parents were like, you should have her sign a pre-nup.
She's loaded.
She basically...
No, that's her sign it for me.
They wanted me to sign it.
Yeah.
I didn't grow up with like crazy wealth.
And so I didn't really know anything about it.
When someone says pre-up, it's a very awkward conversation.
I immediately was like, you're just planning our divorce?
Like, you don't trust me, you know?
you know um but the more i did research on it it was he's tied to a lot of family businesses
with ninja kids and stuff and i did not want to come to this marriage for that reason i had no ill
intent and so yeah it ended like all sign on the dotted line yes i was like i just want to marry you
for you i'm not coming in this because of you're part of ninja kids that's weird but it is an awkward
conversation it really hurts your feelings when it's first brought up i've got my feelings her i was
like you're going to sign a pre-up yeah it and the worst part
was it is an awkward thing and so I kind of pushed it off until the night before the wedding. So it was
really we were showing up at the bank at closing time to notarize this thing right before. I had to leave
my bridal party yeah I was doing to go sign a pre-nup. I was a little bit sad I was like why did
you wait until the last day yeah you're like I girls just hold it my husband soon to be
yeah I was like guys I have to run in the bank real quick I'll be back like why
Yeah. So it's really, it is a really awkward thing planning on what if, worst case scenario. Yeah, it just kind of sucks. We're really hoping, I mean, obviously things have been going great. And we're hoping it's never an aspect of our lives. Totally. Most of the time it's not. Yeah. It just felt like a smart thing to do. Does it have a sunset period or like some sort of clause, some sort of clause where it just goes away. Like if you're married 30 years, does it just?
No, we didn't. I chose not to this.
that far. I chose not to listen to the details. My attorney was like, you got it. Did you get,
did you get like an attorney to like review this thing? Well, part of the, part of the issue was I made
one on chat GPT. You made the freedom on chat. You're so romantic. Because he was so nice and he's like,
I feel so awkward. I'm just not going to get a lawyer. I'm just going to chat you BT and have you sign it.
Right. My lawyer checked over it and he's like, this can be like, I could take this to court.
It wasn't a great. It wasn't a great.
It wouldn't have worked out.
I could have taken everything.
And I didn't want to do that.
I wanted him to be set up too.
And so I was like, well, let's write a good one.
If we're going to do this, I'll help you out.
And then my parents had their attorney look over it after that.
And so there was kind of.
All the day before the wedding, I was stressed.
This all happened the day before.
We got a lawyer.
He got a lawyer the day of the day.
Because I had my Chad GPT1 ready.
But it wasn't approved by people's families, which is why it was last day.
How many days before the wedding did you do your ChatsbyT pre-up?
I don't know a couple weeks, but I probably spent like five minutes on it.
It wasn't it like.
See, this is so interesting.
Yeah.
Because when we were like, yeah, combine your finances, we were talking about like,
combined $250.
We were like, yeah, no problem.
Yes.
But that is more complicated.
And so I think you, I feel like the way you went about it was like it's prioritizing
the marriage and also just not being.
Right.
you know, negligent of businesses that you have, like, established previously.
Right.
And I wasn't even a part of that.
So I don't care to have the Ninja Kid stuff.
Like, I didn't grow that.
So I was just like, I don't care if I signed a pre-nut.
But before my wedding, I was mad.
Yeah, it was like, I'm focusing on the next day.
Tomorrow is a big day for me.
Tomorrow was a huge day.
I'm waking up before I am for my makeup.
Yeah, it would have been a lot easier if I would have planned it more officially ahead of time.
But he's sweet and just didn't want to bring it up.
Some learning experience.
I feel like everyone has to.
to crash out the day before the wedding.
I certainly did.
So your finances are now combined.
Right.
But the pre-nup protected everything you had before.
Okay, so the pre-up doesn't protect any money.
So we'd still split money 50-50.
It's just the business itself.
Yes.
So you don't have equity in Ninja Kids.
You don't have equity.
Right.
Right.
In the Brighton-Miler channel.
Your channel, that's yours.
Yes.
Right.
Got it.
But then I do in our couples channel because we started that.
after.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
That makes a lot of.
The stuff I wasn't a part of, I'm not.
But she'd still make half the money from even what we're doing right now together.
Okay.
It's just she wouldn't own the business or future plans because there was another creator that
did that with his wife and they didn't have a pre-up.
And so they couldn't even upload after because there were disputes like two people
own the channel and they don't like each other anymore.
You know what I mean?
So it wasn't about the money.
She can keep all the money that we were growing together.
But it's I want to be the one to have the same.
say on the channel.
Which is valid.
I don't want to just have to shut down because,
yeah,
especially because it's something I had long before our relationship.
That is a really awkward thing to pass.
Yeah, it's a hard one to have.
It's awkward.
Hey, you know what?
It's done.
It is.
It did it.
And you did it the day before.
Day before.
And it'll literally never play another role in your life.
Have you guys talked about that since that day?
Was this the first time talking about?
Pretty much.
No.
Kind of been mentioned.
We,
it was, there was some hurt feelings in the beginning.
just because of the timing, literally was mainly why.
But we don't really talk about it a ton.
We've never shared that.
This is the first time we've shared this information.
I have talked about maybe I should get it virtually
because there's nothing stopping her from shredding that thing right now.
So it's just, she's not crazy.
It'd be very easy for her to just go shred that.
And then if stuff was going back.
You never know one bad fight.
You can really alter every.
I'm not above it.
You get into a toilet paper altercation.
Yeah.
And that thing's getting shredded up.
I need to take some pictures just in case.
Oh my gosh.
Okay.
Well,
that we talked about our favorite thing to talk about,
uh,
bickering.
Yeah.
Now that we talk about fighting.
Let's do this one.
It's okay to go to bed angry.
Oh.
Our answer to this was different when we got married versus now.
I agree to disagree.
It's okay to go to bed angry.
Three,
okay.
Two,
one.
Disagree.
Oh no.
We're different.
What's funny?
That's literally the same answers that we would give.
Yeah.
I disagree in the sense.
Sometimes it gets late and we're not going to figure it out.
Yes.
And you're, yes.
Keep going.
Not agree.
We're not going to figure it out until the sun starts coming up.
So I'd rather get a good night's rest.
And we're always so much happier in the morning.
Do you wake up happier?
No.
See?
That's what I said.
It's a difference between women in bed.
I think about it all night.
I dream about it all night.
We've never gotten to the point.
We've always stayed in the same bed.
Like,
I've never had to sleep on the couch or anything.
And so we weren't angry enough that we couldn't literally be next to each other.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But there's been times where we're like, let's talk about it tomorrow.
But I don't like it.
Yeah.
My personality,
I like to hash it out right away.
Let's get this going.
Let's just figure it out.
But he's more of a processor.
And I think that's great.
Figuring out is great.
But if we're figuring out at 1 a.m.,
there's,
We're just our minds.
We're not going to figure it out.
And then it escalates.
And you're more tired and more feelings get hurt.
And then it's just like a snowball.
Hey, I haven't done this in a lot.
I'm just way too tired.
Oh, my.
And then you're just like, and then you think you're making the wise decision by saying,
you know what?
Let's go to bed.
Let's put this away.
And then it's like, you don't care about this marriage.
And then that's a whole other fight.
But you know what?
You're so lucky.
I've just been so exhausted.
I have no file left of me.
It's just shocking.
Honestly, I think it's, I think we've both gone to therapy.
That really also did play.
I think that's really helped.
That did some things.
Yeah, it's really good.
That stuff is real.
Okay, agree to disagree.
It's okay to go to bed at different times.
Different times.
Agree.
Yeah.
But we never.
But I disagree because we go to bed at the same time every day.
I agree.
But I think it would.
I think it would be okay in certain scenarios.
I wouldn't be mad, but I'd be sad.
But I don't know if it's necessarily always the most healthy thing.
Like, say...
If you don't have different schedules...
If she has a girl's night and she's going to be out really late,
I don't necessarily need to stay up all night.
Right.
Or vice versa.
But if we're just at home together, then I'd probably say it's...
We're going to go to bed together.
Yeah.
You don't stay up till 2 a.m.
your wife to come home? I used to. It actually would make it worse because I'm like, I just
miss her the whole time. I wasn't having fun. So it's worked out better and not staying up.
We've tried both. Jade, does that work out better for you when he's asleep when you come home?
Yeah, I stay out all night. No. No, I miss him. I always want him to be waiting on the couch for me or something.
Yeah. But I'm not as fun as her friends are like, hey, I'll tell you about my night.
I do that too. You got to wake him up. Got to get him the low down. Exactly. Agree to disagree.
white lies are okay if they spare your spouse's feelings.
Oh,
agree to disagree.
Did we,
have we ever talked about this?
This is such a good one.
Oh no,
I don't know my answer.
Three, two, one.
Disagree?
Okay, we said it together.
I don't know.
That was a hard one.
I could have gone either way.
But I feel like I'm really honest.
I was going to say we were both probably way too honest.
Like too honest.
Like,
I don't know.
I'm not worried about hurting her feelings sometimes because she just knows it's
coming from love, right?
And so she gets over it.
That's true.
If you show me enough love during the day, I can take it if you need to tell me something.
That's true.
But our biggest issue, that's a good take.
Yeah.
Our biggest issue, though, is she doesn't feel like if she asks me about an outfit, I am not a style guy.
I don't even know if it looks good.
So I just feel like I'm.
That's true.
I think that is a white lie.
I feel like I'm guessing, which isn't a white lie because I do like it.
But I also don't know, like, yeah, I.
guess it's great if you like it so
so man has opinions on outfits
I do you but for me it really it really just comes down to the way
like the way it fits you I think that's what it is
you're a pervert what's wrong I think you look amazing
I like I like uh he does not like baggy clothes I don't know well okay if it's baggy
like I don't want it to be like baggy pants and a baggy shirt I think you got to
fit your figure yeah you got to pick either the pants or the shirt
This is actually the only thing that you actually form an opinion on if I'm wearing it.
If you're like if it's too baggy or too loose, I'm also 5'2.
So sometimes when I wear some really loose things, she's going to say like you get,
I don't know the trends though.
Right.
So like if you're asking me about like trending stuff, I don't know.
Well, my family, they're not fashionistas.
And so I never was.
Jade's how to teach me.
Ah.
And so I just trust her.
You showed up on our first date with skinny jeans and running shoes.
Hey, he's got skinny jeans on you.
Those aren't skinny jeans?
Those are like slacks.
These are some khakis and they kind of are tight-fitting.
They're becoming skinny slacks.
But the point is, I was way off-rend.
She remembers what you wore.
I do remember because I was like, skinny jeans stuff?
You're like, this is going to have to, we're going to workshop this.
We would have not have gotten married if I didn't change my style.
Oh, goodness.
That's a little dramatic.
This is bad.
Skinny jead fill me in.
Skinny jeans are out, right?
Yeah.
They're out.
I mean, they're coming back, I think, but I still feel like boys shouldn't wear them.
See, I'm so far out of the loop that like I'm probably going to still be wearing them.
Honey, you don't have any skinny jeans.
I don't anymore?
Not a single pair.
She's thrown them all of it.
Okay.
They are not.
They're not in your closet.
I haven't seen those.
But she's helped me in dress better.
Or even your hair is way different.
True.
My hair is completely different.
I don't know if you've seen his old things.
He used to do like a slick back.
He didn't even know he had curly hair until me.
No way.
Yeah.
She discovered that you had curly hair?
Yeah.
Yes.
He would go to Puerto Rico and he's like, my hair's kind of frizzy.
It's kind of.
like in the humidity and so I said we should try curly hair routine and he has really curly hair
wow he would blow dry it every morning and slick it back what a discovery yeah we have the same haircut
what yeah yeah wait wait oh this was your haircut yeah yeah just like a little side if matt's hair is
curly under there that would be crazy that that was my haircut no way and that's not like in your hair
just naturally does that yeah yes everyone thinks he got a perm but it's real he just didn't know
that's cool i know crazy i need to consult you honestly you are
a genie.
You figured that out.
Yeah.
Agree to disagree.
Checking your partner's location is totally normal.
Three, two, one.
Agree.
Totally.
Do that all day.
That's my favorite pastime.
Yeah, that's great.
Why do you check each other's location?
See where each other are at?
You don't tell me when you're going somewhere.
It's like you just know that I'll check it.
I'm probably getting salad and go.
It's like where's that salad and go?
He wants to go get a salad because he was hungry.
That's funny.
One time you were just walking around.
around and I thought you were getting me a book.
And I knew before you
you walk around the mall. And I was like,
what is he doing at the mall?
Yeah. That was funny. Yeah.
I think it's just a convenience thing.
Right. It's nice to have. And we're always together
so when we're not together, I kind of be like, where are you
going? Could you possibly be doing with that? Yeah.
Agree to disagree. Social media can ruin a genuine
moment. Three, two,
one. Agree?
Oh. Sad. I would agree
that too, though.
Yeah.
Can you elaborate on what that means?
Are you meaning like filming the moment or are you meaning like if we're on our phone scrolling
during a moment?
Oh, you,
I was thinking filming as well.
Yeah, I think sometimes the stresses of filming in the moment, we don't do a ton of logging.
That's kind of not what we do.
But sometimes it's like we have to hurry and get this shot.
Like this is important.
We can't miss it and it just causes some stress because we're working, you know.
Yeah.
Was that what you think?
We don't vlog normal everyday life, and I've never been a vlogger.
Yeah.
Even Ninja Kids, it was never everyday normal life.
Right.
But we'll vlog big things.
Like our big adventures are big milestones.
And so, yeah, it does change the dynamic slightly.
Totally.
That's my problem with it.
As a creator, I love to, like, create the videos.
But then at the same time, sometimes if you create too much, then it's like you're robbing yourself of just like living in the moment and not thinking about like the angle.
Did I like set up the scene and explain what we're about to do?
And then and then sometimes I'll just say, I'll just fix it all in post with voiceover.
Exactly.
But then like you film the video and you're like, oh gosh, I have to go through and figure out.
Kind of film this gap.
Yeah, explain what the heck's going on here.
Hey, I think that was honest.
That was very honest.
Yeah, that is honest.
But on the other side, it's awesome because you have a journal of what I did.
It's so worth it in the end.
Yeah.
And we'd film it anyways.
It's just filming it for a different reason.
Yes.
Because all these big moments, we've always filmed everything.
It's going to be filmed, so might as well just make it good.
Yeah.
This one I know we asked Brock in Boston and Kessly.
Agree to disagree.
I've tasted coffee.
Oh.
Three, two, one.
Agree.
What?
We're crazy?
That's wild.
We might have to end the interview.
No, that's so funny.
I've never had a full cup of coffee, but I've tasted it.
Did you like it?
I think it was just like black, dark coffee.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Well, so the time, one of the times I really remember tasting it, we were in Finland,
and I thought it was hot chocolate and I was freezing.
I'm like, let's go.
Really sugar hot chocolate.
They give me black coffee.
And it was just gross.
That would be really scary if you're thinking you're going to have.
Yeah, it's just when you expect something else.
And it just wasn't, it just wasn't good.
But we've never had like a sugary.
I've never ordered it.
So I'm sure it's better than what we had to taste it the one time I was in front of me.
Why did you have to taste it?
I don't know.
I was just curious.
Oh, okay.
And I'm like one swig.
our friends that were like they were members of the church they he was like we went to get coffee
and I always felt like so high maintenance because I really do want coffee every morning and I would
always panic if we were staying with people that didn't drink coffee because I was like what am I
gonna do I'm a freak but um he was like we stopped at Starbucks he was like but what is it
tastes like I don't want to lead you astray but if you take one sip of this is that going to be a
problem and he was like okay I'll take one sip I was like I feel so bad that was basically the thing I think
the word of wisdom which is what not drinking coffee is based on I think it should be more tailored towards
health and I think people don't treat it as being healthy and I feel like I'm plenty healthy to say I'm
following the word of wisdom yeah if I do drink a coffee here and there which I don't but I think it's
about health and that's how it started it was a word of wisdom not by commandment and
it's become a commandment, but I, but you're not going to, it's about help to me.
Oh, so it's not, okay, sorry.
Have you guys ever seen,
this is just a curious question.
I'll ask later.
Have you ever seen where they compare like a monster energy drink to a cup of coffee?
Energy drinks, yeah.
And you're seeing like the difference in the health benefits.
I mean, that there's no health benefits, but that's the weird line.
Yeah, I don't know if I've ever had a monster, but.
Yeah, we don't drink energy, we don't really like drinks.
What's the energy drink we had this morning?
Alani.
I've tried a Lonnie. Lonnie's good.
We're just not big drink people, which is
everyone is surprised about by being in Utah. I just don't
love drinks. I'd rather have like a treat.
Yeah, I drink a lot of water.
That's good. But you haven't drank
your provided water. Oh, shoot.
I gotta like dodge the microphone.
You know what I mean? I'm not ended that you guys
haven't had to give this water.
See, now we pressured him.
Agree to disagree.
Agree to disagree.
We look happier on social media
than we are in real life.
Oh, wow.
Two, one.
Agree.
Wait, is Agree the good one?
We look happier on social media than in real life.
Do you think we look happier?
Well, I think the moments that we're showing are genuine, but we don't show any negative.
We're pretty happy.
It is genuine.
I feel like when we're showing it, but we're not really bloggers.
And we don't spill our drama and we don't hang our dirty laundry outside.
Yeah.
which everyone has that's a great
everyone has that yeah and so I think the moments we do share are genuine but we don't
share everything that's a good that's a good take yeah I like that I felt sad when he
first answered but it makes sense now yeah I was like we're not happy you're like I'm
having a great time yeah agree to disagree your spouse should come before your family
three two one agree
easiest one yet yeah I feel like we kind of talked about that a little bit but I feel like
you guys do you have a good job of that. Okay, getting married young as well, I feel like this is
something that plays a more prominent role than probably people that wait until their 30s to
get married. And so it is something you kind of have to be proactive in doing. I feel like we had
to as well, like, and learn because it's like you kind of are just used to following the flow
of your family and like, oh yeah, they tell me what to do, I do it, we do. Like this is how we do
things as a family. It's like, oh wait, we're establishing our own family now. And you kind of
kind of have to be more of a bulldog in that, in my opinion, if you get married super young,
especially as the oldest.
Right.
Skinny pigs.
You're like setting the standard a little bit.
And so especially since you guys are both the oldest.
Right.
Especially with how involved we are with my family.
It's really important to keep those boundaries different.
Because it was with her family, it's pretty easy and her parents are really chill.
It's very simple.
But with me working with my family, it's a little more complex to keep it.
Yeah.
Like, she's my priority.
If something happens between us, I'm going to go this direction.
And luckily, things have been good, but it's much different.
Yeah.
Agree, disagree.
It's okay to have a best friend of the opposite sex.
Oh.
Okay.
Three, two, one.
Disagree.
Why do you disagree?
I don't like that.
I, no.
We've had some friends, we're laughing because we've had some friends that have some problems
with that.
and they come to us and it just doesn't I just don't think it's a good look I don't know you're like I think
you're having this problem because it's not yeah set up yes I think if she did have a guy best
friend or I had a girl best friend maybe there was we'd have a different opinion potentially but we
don't and so I feel like it'd feel weird if she had a guy best friend if she was ever sad would call him
I'd be like, I'm right here.
You don't have to talk to that guy.
Okay, we're ending on a very juicy one.
Okay.
Agreed to disagree.
We got married too young.
Oh, sorry, three, two, one.
Disagree.
I was going to trick you.
No, I disagree.
I'm very glad we got married young.
I think it's going to be easy to grow our lives together.
I think we were ready.
I think it just depends on the person.
I think some people at our age would be too.
young, but... Because it is a very young age, but I think we both feel more mature. Yeah, we were, we were
ready for that. Yeah. I feel like the more that we haven't been married super long, but we've been
married seven years. And I feel like the more that we like age out of that season, the more I'm
grateful that we started when we did, because we have so many things that I'm just like,
we already know that about each other. We've already crossed that bridge. Like, we've crossed all these
bridges. I feel like we're just able to go further with and it's it's such a blessing that we met
each other when we did to be in this place now. And it's so cool seeing you guys like at that like
beginning stage. I mean getting through the first year, I feel like the first year is usually like
there's a lot of learning and growth that happens. But it's such a fun time too. It's just sweet.
Like kind of like looking back and like talking like such a similar season. I do miss it. And I also think
that you have a lot to look forward to.
Awesome.
I really like you guys.
Yeah.
Oh, we like you too.
It's so fun.
So happy for you and you're, you know, being newlyweds and you have so many fun things happening
in your lives.
But yeah, thank you so much for coming on the show and chatting with us for, gosh, it's
been like two hours.
This has been really fun.
We're best friends already.
Oh, heck.
Sorry about that.
It's all good.
Oh, I don't care.
We don't have anything else.
Our flights at 8 or something.
Yeah, we're just hanging out.
We're chilling.
Awesome.
Well, thanks.
guys. Yeah, where's the best place for people to connect with you on the internet, you know,
on the interwebs? On the inner webs. On the inner web. Just on our YouTube, Brighton and Jade,
we've been grinding that out. And then we've also been doing a lot of shorts. This has been a
recent thing. Instagram, TikTok, we all, Brighton Myler and Jade Myler. Yeah. Nice. All of the
above. Awesome. Let's go. All right. Thank you guys.
