What's on everybody? Welcome back to another exciting episode of the Vile Files reality recap edition. I'm your host Nick, joined by my wonderful, gorgeous, sexy wife, Nali, and partner in crime, Natalie Joy. Yes, of course. And we're also joined by the gorgeous and the sexy Jimmy, so does.
Gorgeous and sexy. Yeah, baby. How are you? I'm good. How are y'all? We're tired. We're tired. Yeah, we're surviving. You guys had a rough one? You guys? Honestly, honestly, Paisaliener. Honestly, Pais.
Parenting is kicking our ass right now.
We're in a season of just some difficulties with having three under three.
Yeah, it's like when we had our first, when we had our first, you know, we had to be parents.
We were like, didn't know what to expect.
River showed up.
Everything was new.
Had its challenges.
But we're like, you know what?
We can do this.
This is one, you know.
Easy.
Yeah.
It wasn't all that bad, you know.
Looking back, easy.
Easy.
And then like, you know, found out we're having.
twins, a little scary, you know, obviously, the twins showed up. At first, it was like, okay,
that's so bad. We're just eating and sleeping. We're just eating and sleeping, you know? We're
thankfully had a lot of help, you know, early on. No longer sleep. We haven't sleeped a full night
in three months. And I think it's like, it's, we're in this, like, like, Natalie said,
we're in a season of like, holy shit. It's just like, you know, we're busting our ass. It's
it's also just like we're we're both doing so much and I think it's just really easy for like I
imagine there a lot of parents out there who've done this journey before where it's just like you're
both doing so much and it's just like you both can feel like unappreciated at times because like you're
you're you're you're you're just running on fumes you know what I'm saying and it's just like you're
it's like but I did this well I did that you know and it's just like it's it's a lot you know and the kids
aren't old enough to be like thanks no and it's yeah and
Being a parent, like we've talked about this, one of the most rewarding things, and I thought about this over the weekend, it's also just like pretty thankless, you know?
Yeah.
But it's like.
But also I was, I got the opportunity to go to the grocery store by myself the other day.
I love that.
You guys like rejoice in those moments of like, who gets to go.
You long for those periods.
Yes.
We all turn to be like, well, I got to go yesterday.
So I guess you can go today.
Rock for a person who gets to go next time.
Yeah, literally.
But on my way there, I was just like thinking about obviously just the season that we're in and how we're kind of were struggling a lot.
And I was like not wishing for it to go by, but kind of was also.
You know, I was like, wow, I just like, when they're a little bit older, it'll be so much easier.
And then I found myself feeling so guilty for thinking that because I'm like, they're this small for this day.
And here I am being like.
I'm glad you did that.
That's so real.
Yeah.
That's so weird.
You don't feel that way?
I can't wait for these motherfuckers
are going to school.
Yes, not because now
because like Rivers is in preschool
and it's three days a week
and she doesn't have school the day.
Oh my God.
When you're like,
there's no fucking school.
What the fuck?
You know?
And you're like,
you're mad at the school.
Like, what's going on?
Why don't they have school?
Yeah, it's hard.
Parenting's hard, guys.
Don't do it.
I'm kidding.
Well, you skipped.
You skipped a step.
Y'all went from one to immediately three.
Like, no buffer.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But I can't believe you don't want, like, and then I kept seeing on these pictures of River.
And River was like four months and five months and six months.
And I was like, oh, my gosh, like, she's so delicious.
And I remember that time so vividly.
And it's obviously because I didn't have any other kids.
I didn't have any other responsibilities.
She was like my only priority.
So it was like all of my attention went to her all the time.
And now not only do I have to split between,
have an iris i also have to split between river i think it's because we don't have any real efficient
way to communicate with the twins like crying and like like net like and i grab one of the babies and they
calm down and you can you know that's that's the closest i get to feel like i'm communicating with them
where i feel like they they feel me that's great but the newborn cry is uh our wonderful
dr curry mentioned when we had a chance to interview with her it like breaks your fucking brain
It's like a drill in your head.
And there's like when you're trying to put the twins down and then like one cries,
you have one going to sleep and the other one cries and it's back and forth.
Like those moments are just excruciating.
And I can't wait for that cry to go away.
I don't know what at what age.
It's like there's something about the newborn cry.
It's just a little different.
And even like I don't forget when I forget when River, I think it was like around five or
six months, you can tell, like, they're communicating a little bit with gestures or even grunts.
And that just, to me, makes it a lot easier where now it's just like these screams.
And it's just like, it'll, they don't scream that much.
Are you trying to get rid of my baby fever? It's working.
Yeah, he's really like, I think you should hold off a little bit.
No, they don't. We have, they're really good babies. But when they do scream, it's, it's hard.
at what age are they old enough to
emote and like
respond like facial interaction
well they're starting to smile now
which is cool
yeah they are smiling
you like make a face and they laugh
yeah they're recognizing like us
and the people that they see all the time
you know like my mom
they'll be crying
and then I'll go over and like look at them
and smile and then they smile really big
and it's like oh you know I'm your mom
and you know me
are they like things they like
my brother will sing one song to my nephew and like
He just like he enjoys it.
He'll like bounce a little bit.
Well that's,
oh,
well,
River's singing a lot now.
But River also like recently,
I just feels like recently
she's hit this era of like,
like I want this,
like repeating what she wants
until you give it to her.
Pick me up,
pick me up, pick me up, pick me up, pick me up, pick me up.
It's just like,
oh my God.
Like, ooh, who's getting that personality.
Oh my God.
It's,
uh,
anyways,
it's kicking our butt lately.
And,
uh,
I just,
I know we say a lot of,
a,
things about being parents and we talk about how much we love it and I just want to acknowledge we still
love it we still love it but for all the parents who roll their eyes at us because you know they probably
were listening at us being like oh we just love being parents meanwhile their kids were we're probably like
hitting them over the head with something and the other kid was like screaming and crying and and
asking for things we hear you we see you and we feel you over the weekend yeah yeah i'm sure that's like a
never-ending kind of journey just like the highs and
lows of parenting and just navigating all that. I have faith in y'all. In the midst of struggling this
weekend, Kelly Clarkson really made my day. Did you see this? Let's get into it. Yes.
For anyone who hasn't seen, many people have, Carly Clarkson, and I just felt, she went shopping in Brooklyn,
and she went into a store, and she didn't feel like she was treated appropriately. And she went to
X. She went to Twitter, like the old school days of, you know, what Twitter was there for, where you
had a bad experience and you would just complain about it on Twitter. Well, Kelly Clarkson did this.
And it created quite a firestorm. And then she started going back and forth with the store online.
She wanted this piece of art, this wooden clock or this bird or something? Like a bird thing.
It was a singing bird. It was a singing bird. It was like $15,000. She wanted it. It reminded me of that
recent thing I had that I am the asshole when I went pants shopping and I bought a pair of pants
with a broken zipper and I tried to return it.
and they gave me hell.
I just feel like everyone...
You give me hell for that?
I think every once in a while,
like, it just feels good to complain
about the lack of customer service you receive.
The only problem with Kelly Clarkson,
she's just like ultra famous
and has a massive following.
So no doubt, like her followers,
then attack the store.
Do we have the tweets?
We do.
So Kelly Clarkson went into the store,
wanting to buy something.
So she, Kelly Clarkson takes to Twitter
and she says,
Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad
and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn't afford it
and was told he could find something comparable for me.
Wow, dude, you're an idiot and you just lost a huge sale.
But y'all should go check out Art of Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated
like Julia Roberts' character and Pretty Woman.
For sure, check it out, thumbs down.
Like she named the store.
I didn't realize she was that pointed with it.
She was that point in.
No, she was like, this is the store.
The store then responds.
Internet, do your work, she said.
Oh, God, Kelly.
And they did.
I mean, that she chose violence.
The store then responds and says, yesterday Kelly Clarkson visited us in Brooklyn and inquired
about buying Molly, a one-of-a-kind singing and dancing bird automation who plays on
an important role in the magic shows we host here.
Molly is permanently attached to the wall and isn't for sale.
However, the negative experience Kelly does.
described on Twitter would resonate with anyone who has ever felt judged in a shop. At Art of Play,
whether someone comes in to make a purchase or simply look around for a while, they are equally
welcome. We greet everyone who walks in the door with an invitation to pick things up and play.
And they do. Many stay for hours enjoying our puzzles, games, and toys. Imagine our surprise when
our small local business was suddenly attacked by 8 million people who have never visited our store.
It's been a surreal experience to be the focus of such widespread outrage after just one mentioned by a celebrity.
Thanks to all of our friends for their support and welcome all the curious folks who have discovered us admits the drama.
We're going to keep our heads down and hopefully we can clear things up with Kelly someday.
As a talented popular singer once said, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
They also chose violence.
They were like, low-key, great response.
Great response.
Great response.
As a talented popular singer once said, what doesn't kill you makes you strong.
So they know it was her in there.
That's what's crazy.
Or maybe they just found out right now.
They didn't necessarily know at the time.
At the time.
But once she tweeted about it.
Yeah, I guess.
Well, then Kelly responds to that.
Yeah.
No, she had a follow up.
She responds with, cool, cool, sure.
It wasn't for sale.
That's the narrative art of play is going to go with.
So the whole conversation we had when I asked you if it was for sale while pointing to the price tag,
hanging on the wall with the title Singing Bird,
did it happen as you elevator-eyed me, saying in a condescending tone, yes, it's for sale, but it costs
$15,000.
So if you'd like for me to find something more comparable for you, I can.
That's all, that all never happened.
And now it's not for sale.
Okay, cool.
So you're not only rude, you're also a liar.
Got it.
And by the way, I obviously support small businesses because I was literally at a small business
trying to purchase things.
I love small businesses.
And no, they are important.
And I always support them.
but you don't get a free pass to treat people less than in your store just because you are a small business.
It's not that hard to be kind.
I never blast people, but my friend, you were an exception.
Your store is really cool.
Unfortunately, you aren't.
Was the owner the one there?
I have no idea.
She did not.
I'm guessing it's not.
Yeah.
I'm guessing it was like some, the problem with these stores is, well, the employees, probably, because they don't give a fuck, you know?
Yeah.
Like when I, when I got that pair of jeans,
and the zipper broke like the next day and I tried to exchange it and they were they literally like
we can just buy another pair of jeans we can't help there's no one here that can facilitate a return
and I was like what are you talking about yeah no it was the whole thing somebody's got to no and I
ended up having I just got the zipper fixed eventually they gave me an email address to and I'm like I'm not
writing another email like whatever it was crazy no but like there's this sometimes when you go like
Listen, Kelly was probably wrong for tweeting about this because of our massive following,
because the fallback for small businesses.
I think Kelly Clarkson and people like Kelly Clarkson, like, this is the whole Kevin Durant thing in the NBA.
Like, he attacks journalists.
Like, he doesn't give a fuck.
What is Kevin Durant do?
Oh, he will go back and forth on the internet.
Like, he will argue the day ends.
Like, you're Kevin Durant.
Have you ever complained about, have you ever used your social media to
complain about an experience shopping?
I've never slandered somebody and used, like, my platform to, like, make you go viral and, like,
tear someone down. I just would feel...
I just wouldn't feel good.
I do feel like there's a difference when it's big corporations, for sure.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, that's different. That's definitely different.
But I also understand, like, first of all, Kelly has put this place on the map.
Now it's going to be, like, a tourist stop in Brooklyn.
It's going to be, like, let's go to the place that...
Next time we go to Brooklyn, I just...
I definitely want to go take up this bird.
Yeah.
That's the KD argument.
Like, you're actually giving these people a platform.
Like, so you're kind of giving them what they want as long as they handle the backlash
appropriately.
Who do you guys believe?
I believe Kelly Clarkson, but I just feel like, yo, you could have rose above that.
There was a price tag on it.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
I kind of believe Kelly, but it's just like you're Kelly fucking Clarkson, yo.
Like, just call the owner some shit.
There's a photo on the internet with the, like, singing bird and the price tag next to it.
Oh, the price tag's been verified.
The price tag has been verified by the sleuths.
Also, if you're a Brooklyn, if you're like a Brooklyn trinket shop selling, or not
trinket shop, but like vintage, whatever store, selling things for $15,000, you're probably
kind of annoying.
And like, Kelly Clarkson, do your thing.
Yeah, I'm like not, I'm not really mad at Kelly for this.
A lot of people are very divided.
Oh, of course they are.
Yeah.
I feel divided, like, in my own head, because, like, I just think when you're that much of an A-list
or you have that much money, that much just, like, like, you have that much gravity and, like,
your words hold that much weight.
You probably could have handled it privately if you really cared that much about it.
In that moment, like, and we met Kelly once when we did her show, nicest person in the world.
But, like, I'm sure Kelly can, you know, probably in the store.
there's a good chance
no one recognized her, right?
I mean, you know,
Saturday afternoon,
she puts a hat on,
just,
I'm sure there's times
or she,
like, can,
like,
live a normal life,
is all I'm saying,
right?
And I just,
like,
when you have that experience
when you're trying to shop
and you've,
and you feel that
rudeness from people,
when you feel that,
like,
I don't give a fuck about you
and that condescension
and that kind of like,
and you just,
and you're trying to be nice
and you're just trying
to have a good experience.
And like,
you know,
like,
you know,
Kelly knows it sees of somebody.
she almost probably feels like she can't do anything, right?
She's probably even very careful about like how she acts in public.
She wants to live a normal life.
You know, because she doesn't want people to think, you know,
oh, Kelly Clarkson, here she goes again, you know, type of thing.
And she was very much a human in this experience.
She wasn't famous Kelly Clarkson.
She was just like, I don't even.
She was just like the pissed off like woman on Facebook.
She probably wasn't even thinking about her eight million followers.
She just like wanted.
You guys might be winning me over right now.
I actually, I'm really starting to hear this because.
then it's like so I just have to rise above everything I can never I always have to be the bigger
person yes I kind of hear that argument yeah and and when you're just in someone's just like
you know like when I went and like try to exchange those pants like you know at the end of the day
it's it's not the end of the world right but it was more like I just bought I spent money here I just
and I want pants that I can wear and they like when they refuse to help you because they
give you some bullshit excuse and like they can't do this like they don't want to help you
When you feel someone who doesn't want to help you
and it's their only job to help you
and they're just being a prick about it
like there's just something that just enrages you.
It's less of,
it becomes so quickly not about the pants
or the magic bird and just more about like the principles.
I mean that's the Kevin Durant.
He's like,
just because I'm a famous basketball player
doesn't mean I'm not a regular person.
Like I want to,
I like to talk shit,
I'm going to talk shit.
I don't care who you are.
I don't care what you think of me.
They're also trying to position it as like,
oh, she only spent five minutes in the store.
Like, she just, like, walked in and then walked out.
And she literally said in her official statement that, or the original statement, was that
she saw some things that looked rad.
So I feel like she saw the singing bird and was like, I need to get this.
I know exactly who's going to love it.
She goes in.
They're like, yeah, you can't afford it.
And she's like, okay, I'm going to Twitter and walks out.
Why would you spend any more time in there when someone is, like, not being nice to you?
Now, how long do you have to look around?
I'm sure she's a person who knows what she likes.
Is it like security camera footage or like a body camera footage?
We can like watch this.
Oh my God.
I'm sure the store is going to drop.
If this store thinks they're right, it'll come out.
But if Kelly Clarkson is telling the truth, we'll never see it.
But the price tag is on the damn thing.
And their first thing out of the gate to defend themselves was it wasn't for sale.
Trying to position her is like this out of touch celebrity who thinks she's entitled to everything.
To like buy their decor.
Including things that aren't for sale.
If you're the store, how do you speak?
spin this narrative in your favor though?
If you're who?
If you're the store, how do you recover from this?
If you are on the wrong, if you're the store, how can you spin this narrative in your favor?
Well, I think there was another, I think they responded to Kelly's response. Do we have that?
Because remember on Love Island when Gall and Jen got into the beef and like nobody was going
to buy coffee at Gall's. So then anybody named Jen got free coffee at Gall's coffee shop?
Like, is there some shit like that they can do?
Yeah, but it would require Kelly to want to like, you know, break bread with them.
I do think that this store is, the store is going to break bread.
be fine. It's going to be like they didn't, she didn't attack the small business to where people
are like never going to step foot in it anymore. People are going to be like, let's go see the
fucking bird that Kelly Clarkson wanted to buy. And now the store is going to be so busy.
Unless, I don't know how much like Yelp reviews and Google reviews matter to the store like this.
Do people still read reviews on like Google and Yelp?
Shit. It fucked up the, the scant of all Vanderpump restaurant number.
Their Yelp reviews like went down the train. No, I know that. But that's why I brought up because
I remember them talking about that, but how much did that actual, it also became like a tourist attraction, though.
Yeah, yeah, and that all publicity really fucking is good publicity, huh?
You know?
Yeah.
There was another post that they responded to Kelly.
We'd like to clarify some additional details.
Oh, yeah, about that.
Now they would like to clarify.
Oh, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
It's a Brooklyn curiosity shop, which I think is what you need to know about it.
See, right off the bat, they already kind of sound like elitists.
Yeah.
Again, it's a Brooklyn curiosity shot.
Curiosity shot. You've already pissed me off.
Okay.
Once again, I feel the same way about the pants as I do this.
Everyone's the asshole in this situation.
But I ride for Kelly.
So, all right, during the five minutes she spent in the store,
she inquired about our mechanical bird puppet aide Molly.
We explained that while Molly is permanently attached to the wall
and serves as a de facto mascot for our shop,
a nearly identical automation is owned by the.
creator of the machines, a brilliant artist named Bliss Kolb, who lives in Seattle.
He told us he would be willing to part with Molly's twin for $15,000.
We explained all of this to Kelly Clarkson.
We also offered to show her...
But she was only in there for five minutes.
Apparently.
We also offered to show her a different singing bird automation made by a traditional
clock-making shop in Germany that she could have taken home with her that day.
Why does it have a price tag?
$2,000.
She did not stick around long enough to see it.
We've reached out to Kelly directly to try and clear the air.
We really do wish her the best and hope that someday we can all laugh about this misunderstanding.
Girl, I'm already laughing.
Yeah.
I'm team Kelly.
The misunderstanding is why does it have a price tag if it's not for sale?
I mean, they said it's the basic replica of, I'm like, yeah, why don't you just give
the replica away then?
No, but the thing that she wanted that's on the wall.
Yeah, they sent a photo.
Has a price tag.
Yeah, Molly's twin was for $15,000.
That's her twin.
They said Molly needs to stay, but Molly's twin can go for $50,000.
But did Molly have the price tag on it or not?
In the photo I saw on the internet, which has been verified by other people on the internet.
So you know it's true.
There was a price tag next to a very cute bird automation that said Molly $15,000.
It's a singing bird.
And the curiosity.
The shop is now claiming that's Molly's twin.
Of course they are.
Now they're scrambling.
Now they're all liars.
What is this?
The Young and the Restless?
There's an evil twin.
Our brilliant artist in Germany by the name of he resides in Seattle.
You're talking too much.
You're given too much nonsense.
And like I don't care about any of that, you know?
And I think they're trying to like distract from the facts of the story.
Yeah.
She walked in.
She saw the Molly on the wall.
She saw the price tag.
She clearly had a conversation with.
the person at the store.
They're like,
I don't think this is for you.
Let's, as they said,
let's,
here's a,
here's a cheaper option.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
And that's where you get
the pretty woman comparison.
I'm Tim Kelly.
I'm Tim Kelly.
I also just think it's like,
it's,
this is way better drama
than the drama
that we see on the internet these days.
I also love a woman
standing up for herself.
This really is about misogyny.
This, at the end of the day,
so true.
You know what? And at the end of the day, it is. And I'm team woman always. So I want one of like the worker employees do like a TikTok tell all and give her side of it as like. I'm sure that's what's coming next.
What really went down. That's what I need. I want a Vanderpump rule show of art of play and everyone that works there. All right. Well, Dancing with the Stars is tonight. It's another jam packed episode with some great people still on the show. Sierra went home last week. That was a bit of a surprise. We're going to miss her fits.
That was crazy.
I definitely was not accepted.
Your great outfits.
At all.
Well, who do we predict is going home tonight, do we think?
Yeah, what does Kalshi say?
Bro, Kalli has Tyler Cameron 40% odds going home.
What?
And I want to bet against it.
Yeah, they got...
Really?
Tyler Cameron most likely to get voted off.
And then second is Jack Olson and then Giermo.
And I love Geremo.
I'm his biggest fan.
But as a betting man, self-admittedly, I'm putting my bread on Geremo going home.
Respectfully.
Really?
Game, I love your word.
They think Tyler?
What are the odds?
So if I bet...
The public does.
Yeah, the public, so that basically, because the public makes the prediction.
So it's like who's...
Like who you're voting for, basically?
I don't know how it calls he does it, right?
But the odds are based off of other votes or other predictions.
So most people think Tyler's going home.
I guess I just like I understand Guillermo, but I feel like everyone is so mad that Sierra went home over Guillermo,
that like are they still
they still think he's going to say it?
It's Tyler with a 40%
Jackson Olson, 28%.
So Kalshi doesn't make the odds.
It's the wisdom of the crowd's sentiment
where like the public votes on who they think
and then they, the odds, you know,
just naturally develop from there.
So just the public, everybody that tunes in
and dance with the stars,
group think that it's going to be Tyler Cameron going home.
Why do you think the public
not the
vibe being with Tyler
I don't know
I think maybe it's just
such a star
it's just such a great cast
that it's like
I think everyone's just
struggling and maybe he's
I don't know
what week is this
is this week seven
no week
I don't want to read into
I don't want to read too much
into like
the gender is here
but like a girl just went home
last time
maybe they think a guy's gonna go
yeah that's of the guy
smart Tyler Jackson
So wait, we had Sierra this week
And then the week before was Giaada
That's two women
And then before Giaata it was
Sarah Jane Nader
And we're on week five
So week five
Got to get a guy out there
It's got to be a guy
But it can't be Tyler
It can't be Tyler
Well
Can't be
My boy got to show up
What's the theme for tonight?
Connor
Super Bowl
You can predict
Connor
Oh he's definitely a lock
He's a football player
Right
He's not going home after this
Hey the public doesn't know
What the fuck
They're talking
Wait, this week is a
Super Bowl?
It's like Super Bowl performances.
So it's like they get
whoever's,
they get like an artist
at the Super Bowl.
His football background
actually has
zero effect on his performance.
But Tyler's got to make it to the,
he's got to make it to the
dedication week.
That's week nine, right?
Yeah.
Last night, we're sitting
at the dinner table.
We're eating supper.
And River,
randomly says
Uncle Tyler
has to come to my birthday party
and I was like, what?
And she's like, yeah, my birthday party.
He's not, I just, let me just play the audio.
It's just mandatory R's VP.
Listen. Also, dedication night is
week six, by the way. It's week six?
So it's next week? Five. So if he
makes it this week, then he can make it
to next week for dedication. Oh my gosh.
We've got to get tired of next week.
Wait, listen to what River said last night.
Uncle Tyler's going to
Come see your birthday party?
Yeah.
What about Aunt Tate?
Can she come to?
Yeah.
She's not coming here.
Why?
Well.
Not coming to your birthday.
Like out of nowhere, we're just talking about Uncle Tyler at a birthday.
See, y'all can't tell me what y'all said earlier, then play that and expect a baby fever to not come back.
Like, no, we mean, we love our kids.
You know, every once in a while.
It's adorable.
She about to ex Tyler out of her life if he doesn't show up to her birthday party.
I sent it to him and he was like, when's her birthday party?
And I was like February.
And he was like, oh, okay, we have time.
I'm like, yeah, she's a diva already.
She's like, yeah, you better be there.
I know.
You better not miss my birthday.
It's so cute.
We also, I'm looking at, I'm looking at Kalshi on the Dancing with the Stars.
The three people leading in terms of who people on Kalsh, think are going to win is
Ezra, Mara, and Harry.
Harry with a 12% chance.
Mara with a 12% chance and Ezra, 56% chance to win.
We all knew Ezra was going to win from the moment we saw.
Yeah, the public does no ball in this one.
They do.
Have you seen the way the odds fluctuated, too?
Like the spike in Harry Shum and then Asra just.
Amber Glenn at 10% as well, another Olympian.
Oh, that's a dark horse bet.
Mm-hmm.
She's only at 10%.
Hey, I might throw a honey bun on that.
The craziest thing just dropped.
Let me guess.
Okay, you can guess.
New Drake album.
You'll never guess, actually.
But I would love for you to try it.
Not a new Drake album, no.
The GTA game.
ETA 6.
Think illegal.
And actresses.
I don't know.
Did a real housewife like
Monty laundering, scandal?
Somebody got arrested.
Somebody got arrested.
Real housewives?
Adjacent?
He said actress.
Alma Blair.
Yes.
Isn't she?
She gets arrested after allegedly
biting a flight attendant
trying to open the plane
door.
Isn't she fighting MS?
she bit a flight attendant?
In the dispatch audio obtained by TMZ,
officials requested medical personnel at the gate
after reports of minor injuries,
including bloody nose and bite marks.
Blair was arrested and taken to the hospital for evaluation
where she remains as of this post.
The FBI is currently investigating the incident.
The audio notes,
the disruptive passenger apparently bashed her head
against a bulkhead with law enforcement waiting
when the plane landed.
Some of Blah.
Yeah, she's in cruel intentions.
Yeah, legally gone.
Hellboy.
Yeah, and she's an MS remission.
We're told the actress attempted to open the aircraft door while the plane was in the air Sunday on its way to JFK airport leading to a confrontation with crew members.
She tried to open?
Open the door while in the air.
So she must have had some kind of...
Her team has responded saying that Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct upon land.
She received immediate medical attention and is currently in a stable condition.
It's unclear what caused the medical emergency or whether Selma could face any criminal charges.
Scary.
Well, I hope she's okay.
Very scary.
Very scary for everyone.
Yeah, well, you're on a flight and that's happening and you hear chaos.
Like, that would be terrifying.
Yeah, actually, that's my biggest fear.
I feel like flying so much.
You just kind of take for granted and you just take quick nap.
You wake up and you get there.
I've been woken up to that kind of panic.
Every time I'm on a plane and I see another pilot, like,
walk on who's like just like hopping a flight but they're not the pilot I'm always feeling a little
better you know yeah I haven't I'm most recent one we got some we got some backup
back here with the rest of us don't be sleeping don't be napping we got some adults in the room we got
some adult right we got a sew ready no seriously I'm I always I always clocked that
well speaking of actresses we have Elizabeth Banks set to play Karen Reid in the new I in the new
true crime series I mean I'm kind of
it happened really fast
don't we think
what do you mean
like this turnaround was just so fast
the way that it's just
I guess
gotta give the people
what they want
gotta get their money's worth
do we know where
is this is this a lifetime thing
is she funny
Elizabeth Banks
Claire is
oh my god she's on 30 rock
yeah she's playing
this is like a serious case
I wonder what angle
that that show will take
will they make her out
to look like she did it
or or not
you know
eight episodes
on Prime Video, scripted drama series.
Prime video.
Well, Elizabeth said she grew up in Massachusetts,
and like so many people there,
we watched this case,
divided families, friends, and entire towns.
How do you want them to position Carrie and Reed
in the show?
Well, as she is, innocent, of course.
Do you think they will?
You know, I think they'll,
they're going to give a divisive show
and make people also argue this.
Okay, there's no official date.
Okay.
Karen, we might have to wait.
Have we heard from Karen Reed at all?
Like, has she done any interviews,
or has she been out there?
What's she up to these days?
I don't follow her personally,
but I do think she's kind of like,
I think she had to move out of Boston.
Like, she was getting recognized too much.
We have a great show lined up for you.
We have the recently banished Sherry
from Traders New Blood,
joining us later this episode.
We also have Gabrielle Wright
from the new hit show,
Wankas, the Golden Dead.
ticket. Everyone's loving this show. She's the winner. She won, she won the show. A dream come true,
honestly. And this is like every childhood dream. People are loving this new hit show on Netflix.
I love that Netflix is like they have Wonka, the Golden Ticket. They're doing this with
Squid Games, right? You know, Dylan and Hannah are going to be a part of it as well, like these
very popular shows or movies and they turn them into these competition shows. I'm loving that
all these competition shows are taking off. I hope it sticks around for a while. But this isn't
celebrity Wonka. This is like Trader's New Blood, where it's just like this pulled people off
the street to compete for a chance at the Wonka. Do you think that Wonka kind of setting is actually a
dream? Because to me, I have like nightmares. It feels like a little like scary to me. I mean,
as a kid, I always wanted to like drink the chocolate river. But then as you got older,
still, honestly, like it looks like refreshing chocolate milk. Yeah. To be honest. How much did she win?
So you're just fixated on the milk on the river. Yeah. How much did she win? How much did she
win. Three million dollars.
Three million dollars.
Yeah. That's a lot of...
Netflix paid her three million?
We can ask her how that works.
That is the highest I've heard of a winner.
That's crazy. It's a lot of money. I'm wondering what she's...
I wonder what she's going to spend it on. And she's up next. So let's find out because
Gabrielle is here.
Gabrielle, welcome to the show.
Thank you so much for having me.
We're so excited to have you.
First of all, congratulations.
You won.
Thank you.
The news is out.
What?
I mean, just such a cool, exciting, popular show.
I mean, like, I guess this is a start.
How does it feel to win $3 million?
Honestly, surreal.
I don't even know.
I keep having pinch me moments every couple of minutes because it still doesn't seem to have set in yet.
Okay.
But it's amazing.
I mean, it's honestly.
once in a lifetime experience, a dream come true, a dream turned into a reality, all of the
things in one umbrella.
What have you been doing since the show wrapped?
Keeping it a secret.
I feel like I've been in the cut.
No, just normal life, honestly, I have been doing all the things, dancing, DJing.
I'm prepping for a tour right now.
Okay.
It's been a lot of fun, fun endeavors.
Now, you did this show with your lifelong friends.
and Sasha. Yes. I must know. Did you guys have an agreement going in that if like do you have to
split it? Like is it all yours? Are the conversations weird? Like what does that look like?
We're like sisters. So there's never a weird conversation between us. But under contract,
I'm actually not able to talk too much about the split or if that's a possibility. So I have to
talk to Wonka about it. Okay. Okay. Where do I want? I have so many questions. Where do I start?
I think, well, let's just start with like how it started.
Early on, I think you said that you didn't really come in with much of a strategy.
Is that accurate?
It's accurate to an extent.
I'm a reality competition show junkie.
I've watched them all ever since Game Show Network was a thing.
I was watching it with my mom, my grandma back in the day, card sharks, the whole nine.
So I came in knowing I wanted to play under the radar, but really just wanting to absorb and take in as much as possible.
Again, this was the first time anything like this has ever been done. And I was one of 24 people to get to
experience that. So I didn't want the competition and the strategy to get in the way of just enjoying the
experience. And that's kind of how I went into it. Obviously, things shifted as days progressed.
But that was my initial time. My follow of question of that is, did you notice people have a lot of
strategies? And it seemed like just watching the show, it would almost be impossible to have a strategy just because
it was like, you didn't really know, you know, if you make this decision, you don't know what
what the result was going to be.
You know what I'm saying?
Like it seemed like it would be really hard to try to strategize.
It was really hard, especially for somebody like me who's an overthinker.
I took every clue and tried to dissect it.
I did that with Sean Garrison's mom.
And we sat everybody down.
This isn't on the show.
But we sat everyone down and we're giving them our pitch of, hey, this is going to be
the next challenge.
We deciphered the code.
This is it.
We were completely wrong.
So at that point, I just left it up to face.
I was like, you know, if I have positive mindset going into this, what you put out is what you're going to receive.
And that was my mantra throughout the whole show, was just writing the positive wave because, again, there were so many twists and things Wonka was throwing our way to throw us off that thinking ahead was pretty much your demise in the factory.
Did anything change once Sasha was eliminated?
Oh my gosh.
Yes.
I would say the honeycombs for me was definitely a big turning point in my game.
but then the second one was when Sasha got eliminated.
That lit such a fire in me that I, and I said it on the show.
It was me and my brain at that point.
I didn't have my best friend to talk to in the middle of the night to strategize with,
to kiki about all the crazy things that were going on in the factory.
So it was definitely hard.
But, you know, at that point I just had to turn into myself and really hone back to who I am as a person,
think about my morals, think about, you know, how my family raised me and how I would
navigate such a crazy space on my own now without my partner.
What was the most delicious candy to eat?
Okay, I didn't get to try the grass.
Everybody was raving about the grass.
I actually never got to try it.
What was the grass?
Like, what did they say they tasted like?
It's a sweet, sour, lemon lime vibe.
Yum.
Did you drink the chocolate river?
I wish.
That was my dream.
Right?
as a kid watching the OG movie, if I was Augustus Gloop, I would have been in there all day filming.
Did you watch the movie right before you went in just as like a, this is fun?
I watched all three movies.
I read the books.
Sasha's sister gave us a whole binder full of Quizlet notes, trivia.
We had it on lock.
We were in ready for a trivia game.
Again, all that preparation wasn't for much, but it was still good to know.
Oh my gosh.
It kind of felt losing your best friend Sasha to the elevator challenge.
It kind of almost felt a little unfair just because the way people were eliminated, so many people were eliminated all at once.
Like, was that pretty demoralizing?
And I imagine at that point it kind of felt like you really weren't in control of anything.
But like how did you process that?
It was really difficult to process.
I will say the one okay thing about the way that Sasha went out was five people went home that day.
So there were a lot of other members that had just lost their partners at the same time that I did.
And that's something I love about this cast is we came together, put competition aside.
We're real human beings experiencing this crazy experience for the first time altogether.
And Tatum actually was my like shoulder to lean on throughout that whole process.
I had this pink fuzzy robe.
I was sitting on my bed, bawling my eyes out.
my mom had written me a letter before I went in there and luckily I was able to bring it into the factory with me.
And I just read that over and over again to remind myself who I am, why I'm here, you know, keep going strong.
And she always told me, you know, just do better than you did yesterday.
So at that point, I couldn't look back and I wasn't just doing it for myself anymore, but I was doing it for Sasha as well.
Do you feel like the rest of your peers kind of underestimated you to?
Like they didn't expect you guys to be as good at the challenges as you were?
1,000%
100%. Honestly, it worked in our favor, though.
I told Sosh going in, I said,
listen, all we have to do is observe,
listen to everybody, be in the cut, do our own thing.
If we have to play a little ditsy, we can play a little ditsy.
Love it.
That's fine, you know?
You got to do what you got to do.
And it worked.
I mean, even talking to some of the contestants after the show wrapped,
they were underestimating us from day one.
They wrote us off immediately.
And I was like, score.
They just thought you were like the good-looking, getsy girls.
Yeah, we're just here for a good time, not a long time.
But little did they know.
Little did they know.
The internet has a lot of opinions on Ziod.
Yes.
What are yours?
That's a vague question.
My opinions on Zad.
Honestly, I could read Ziod from the jump.
And I think that's when my strategy really started to
build, especially with his team. And Sasha and I, we knew we wanted to get close to them because
they were strong players and Z was a very vocal person in the factory that a lot of people
were afraid of. That's one thing. I was never afraid of him. I could read him. I could kind of
see through his game who he was as a person. I think I was just waiting for the right time to capitalize
on it. Which you definitely did. Yes. Yeah. I was like patience. Patience is a virtue here.
But I didn't appreciate the way that he was speaking mostly to a lot of the women on the show.
It just didn't resonate with who I am as a person.
So I didn't ever really get along with him on a personal level.
But gameplay, you would never know.
So when you kind of, well, when you basically double-crossed them, so to speak, was that, was it a little bit of personal in gameplay?
How would you rate versus like a personal move or like was it extra cherry on top that you weren't like
necessarily huge fan with them or was it strictly gameplay at that point at that point?
I would say it was a cherry on top for sure because at the end of the day you don't want to send your best friends home
that you've been building up a bond with throughout the game and I was really close to Garrison's mom.
So also Garrison and I was super close to Taylor and Bryce.
So I knew that out of our group of four those were the two I won.
wanted to go with me for the next round. And picking those coins, it was a no-brainer. Honestly,
I was reading that little riddle over and over again. I was decoding it. Wonka said it may
put others at a disadvantage. It never said that it would. So my wheels started turning. I'm
thinking back to the Wonka Vader when Sasha went and then she got eliminated, but Taylor and
Ava didn't have to play a game and one of them was still safe. So it's little things. Wonka always
leaves hints in the fine print and I made sure to read it over and over again. And then Ziod
coming in after me, I didn't want to give him any sort of power over me. And I didn't.
Well, did you ever get to explain your reasoning behind the three coins?
Not to him, actually. No, he wouldn't let me speak much on the jury in the finale either.
So I didn't. But my strategy at that point was, again, I was reading the fine print. I noticed that there
was a verbiage saying it may put others at a disadvantage. When I walked in, I had coins on my
podium and so did Zod, but Taylor and Garrison didn't at that time. So I'm thinking that maybe
it started with 10 coins and Taylor and Garrison took a couple and left me three. That was my
first thought process. Then I started thinking further and I'm like, wait a second, maybe these
coins aren't going to be used for myself, but I'm going to have to bargain, which is exactly what
ended up happening. And I just knew at the end of the day, no matter what, Z could not be in
possession of any of these coins, because then that meant he had the power over my game. And there was
no way I would let that happen. So I went with my gut. I said, you know what, let's take all three.
Let's be greedy, greedy, Gabby, give me, gimme, Gabby, give me all the names. I'll take them.
The jelly bean challenge with, who was it? What's her name? Kayla. Do you feel like her tears were
genuine or performative?
I love Kayla outside the factory.
We're so cool now.
In that moment, I was so frustrated just with her decision-making process.
I understand watching back after she explained it, I get where she was coming from.
But it just felt personal to me for whatever reason.
Obviously, Sash is my partner.
She didn't do anything to Kayla, to backstab her, to ruin her game.
so I was just upset.
And then the fact that she was safe and then came in crying,
before she even explained what happened to Sasha or Bryce or Poppy,
I was like, girl, give us a second to really understand what's going on
before you put your emotion into it as well.
But again, high stakes, lots going on.
So it is what it is.
How many people like after the game was done,
did you kind of have to mend fences with or have conversations to talk about like,
It wasn't personal. It was just the game.
You know, it's funny. I really didn't have to do that with anyone.
I think everybody kind of has taken what the final edit was and made it into a joke somewhat lighthearted, which has been really nice.
We've all been able to bond over the little comments that we said on the show were Everett, for example, me not picking Everett in the Out of Swords Challenge that really stirred the pot online.
But between Everett and I, it's so funny.
I was like, let's stir the pot even more.
Why not?
Well, that was my next question.
Why did you make that decision to?
It was purely strategy.
Again, I came in with somewhat of a strategy, but again, it was more just to fly under the radar.
And then I'm happy that on the show you can kind of see it start to pick up.
But it doesn't make full sense.
So in the Out of Sorts Challenge, I knew I was going to pick Bryce.
Even when Garrison turned to me and said, you know what needs to be done.
The first thought that came into my mind was Bryce.
I didn't even think twice about it
because I knew I wanted two skins in the game.
I just saved Taylor and the Wonka Vator.
If I save her boyfriend and out of sorts,
I have both of them in my corner.
And I think I was three steps ahead of them the entire time.
I knew that they were in a close alliance with Ziod and Austin.
So it wasn't an unknown variable for me.
Whereas Everett, on the other hand,
I didn't know what game he was playing.
I didn't know what side he was really on.
We didn't get much time to talk in the factory,
so we were never that close.
And on the show, you can see, they called me a swing.
So I think the singles were really just using me as an extra number versus a true alliance.
Well, I guess how did it feel when all is to said and done to be in the final with Taylor?
I thought it was awesome.
Yeah.
I love that the two youngest women in the competition were the final two on top.
I mean, it was really interesting to have to live with people from all.
different walks of life, all different age ranges and trying to navigate that. And again, having
the last two that come out are the two youngest women, I thought that was super special. And just an
ode kind of to society today, you know, just breaking those glass ceilings. What was the name of the
father-daughter couple that a lot of people online were chatting about? There was two. So it was
Kayla and Bill or Ava and Jeff? I think it's Kayla and Bill. A lot of people are, did you, like a lot of
people are noticing, you know, we love a father-daughter duo that's close, but I guess they were,
they seem to be a little touchy feeling in ways that the internet picked up on. Is that something
that you think is this the internet, like, did you notice it while filming their closeness?
I did notice their closeness. I didn't think anything weird of it, though. Again, I mean,
I don't know if I'm the one to judge, you know, what that kind of relationship looks like.
But at the end of the day, you know, that's their prerogative.
I don't have a better answer for you.
I don't know.
When you saw the jury members in the final, what did you think?
Were you feeling good or were you feeling nervous about it?
I was nervous because that was my first time in court.
First of all, I don't know why my first time in court was in a chocolate factory,
but it's as it should be.
It was iconic.
It's fine.
And I was nervous just because that filming process was a lot.
It took a toll on me mentally, physically.
That finale portion was a lot more than obviously was aired.
But I always bet on myself.
And at the end of the day, I kept that through the entire competition.
So no matter who was in that jury, I feel like I treated everybody with respect and played my game at the end of the day.
And so it's my famous line, but don't hate the player, hate the game, you know?
We can put our differences aside.
We can put our personal relationships aside at this moment.
and just chalk it up to the game.
What was that phone call like to Sasha when you got out?
Well, it wasn't even a phone call.
She was there.
Oh.
She was there.
That was the hardest part was when she got eliminated.
I had no idea if she was still in Australia with us.
If she was back in Orange County, she was like kicking her feet up, ordering room service somewhere.
I had no idea where she was.
So when she ran out in the finale, it was this whole full-servoir.
circle, every wave of emotion hit me. And I was like, wow, we started this together. And now we're
here ending it together. So it was really special. Do you have any like things on a shopping list,
like things that you want to splurge on? Like there's got to be a few things that you said,
if I win this money, I'm going to buy this. People have asked me this question. And I still don't
have a like solid answer for it. I think from how my family raised me and like my values growing
up, my mother always instilled the value of giving back to others first. And unfortunately, that really
wasn't shown in the finale. But when Kayla asked what we would do with the money, I had a three-pillar
breakdown of everything that I would use it for or intend to use it for. The biggest thing was
giving back to others. I mean, since I was eight, my brother was 10, we started a nonprofit called
a birthday party wish and we provide birthday parties for homeless and foster children. I obviously,
want to give back to the people that have poured so much into me, which is my family. They
sacrifice so much in their life in order for me to be where I am today. So that was a no-brainer.
Also, the part that got me so emotional on the show, which unfortunately the rest of the
world didn't get to see, was that I was talking about my grandmother and how I wanted to give that
money to my mom to help her because she's been suffering from severe dementia for the past
six years. She watched Wonka with me and didn't even know it was me on the TV screen. So it's
difficult. She's with us all day, every day, 24-7. I mean, the care is no joke. My mom is working
nonstop and then having to take care of my grandma's a lot. So if there's anything I can do
to kind of lessen that battle for the both of them, I obviously want to do that for them.
Very sorry to hear about your family and what they're dealing with, but also what a blessing that
you're able to help out now and that non-for-profit, I mean, you're better than me. You're a better
person than me. I've not done that yet. So good. That's really incredible. Hey, if you want to volunteer,
we're always looking for volunteers. Yeah. Yeah. Probably should. It's been a world one and it's
been so amazing. And again, to have like platforms like this, to be able to share what I'm actually
intending to do with the winnings has been such a blessing because, again, not many people.
got to hear that side. And I don't know what you can share, but like, it's like an annuity, right?
It's not a lump sum of cash. You're getting paid out over the court. How many years?
30. 30 years. And I'm only 22. So this is like setting myself up for my future as well and just
financial stability. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Get a good financial planner. Save that money.
Oh, I know. Honestly, when somebody asks what I'm going to do with the money first, I was like,
I don't know if you can buy a financial advisor, but that's what I'm doing.
What did you think of the final twist in the finale?
The funniest part is I had no idea that that was the end.
So I thought the voting happened.
Then we hear about the twist.
But I didn't think that was the last game.
I thought there were eggs on the screens on the wall, golden eggs.
And I'm thinking, okay, well, whoever wins the guessing game probably has the advantage to pick the egg and then it comes back to chance.
So you have to crack an egg open and if the money's in it, you win.
And so in my head, I told Taylor, before we started the voting, I said no matter what, I'll give you egg number two because that's Bryce's number in life was egg number two.
And I'll pick egg number one.
Here I go overthinking again.
And that was not the case.
And then I end up winning the voting game and Howie yells that I won the whole entire competition.
And I was in disbelief.
I had no clue.
Zero.
I didn't think that was the last challenge.
I imagine on some level hasn't really, has it sunk in yet?
I mean, no.
No. To an extent because a lot of the cast came out, I actually held a fundraiser event in Orlando for my nonprofit a couple weeks ago. And a lot of the cast flew out to Orlando to come support, which was the best thing ever. And so I took them all to Disney and we were getting stopped at Disney. And I'm sitting here thinking to myself, I grew up in Orlando. I come to Disney all the time. Nobody knew who I was a couple weeks ago coming to Disney. And now I'm getting stopped by kids going on Tron.
Oh my gosh, that's crazy.
It's starting to set in more and more.
The show seems like a hit.
So like, who knows?
I mean, hopefully it'll be around for a long time.
But being the first winner of season one is an incredible oncology.
You're like you're, you're cemented in reality TV competition history.
I know.
That's so crazy to think about.
You're going in the Hall of Fame.
The Willy Wonka Hall of Fame.
That's crazy.
Now, as part of the Netflix family, once you're in the family,
there are opportunities sometimes come your way.
I'm listening.
You're young, you're talented.
Like, are there other reality TV shows that you would want to be a part of?
And since you are a part of the Netflix family, I imagine you will have to start with those.
Of course.
Well, I have always been a lover of Is It Cake?
So I don't know if there's a world where I could judge Is It Cake.
If anyone out there can pull some strings, that would be a dream come true.
I also really loved battle camp.
I think you can really get down and dirty,
and it's super focused on the physical competition
as well as the strategy.
So I'd love to test my physical ability as well
in a competition setting.
I'm sure a lot of people would be interested.
What is your relationship status?
And if you're single,
would you consider any love competition shows?
I'm taken, so I wouldn't consider any dating shows.
But if you guys need a host,
I got you.
Guest host, co-host, whatever it is.
I'm in there.
Okay.
Well, your boyfriend, I'm sure he's great, but now you really have to keep him on check
because if he screams up, I mean, I'm sure too hot to handle will come a calling.
Hopefully we don't have to get to that point.
What was it like telling him?
Oh my gosh, it was awesome.
It was so hard.
I mean, we were gone for four weeks with no phone.
So I couldn't contact my family.
I couldn't contact my boyfriend.
He wrote me.
actually he didn't just write me he made me a whole scrapbook with photos in it and I was able to bring it
into the factory which was the best thing ever but kudos to him because as hard as it was for me I know
it was really hard for him to continue living his life and not being able to know anything that was
going on in my life for a whole month so just having that support system you know meant the world and
I felt it in the factory I felt the positive energy all the way from Orlando from all my family
and friends.
And yeah, it's just, it's amazing to have that support in your corner.
Before we let go, I'd be remiss if I ask.
As a reality TV fan, what are some of your favorite shows that you're watching?
Ooh, well, I loved Age of Attraction.
Did you?
I did.
Yes, I binge the entire show.
Thanks for watching.
What was your favorite couple on Age of Attraction?
Ooh, I love Livy.
Yeah, she's great.
We actually ran into her at the airport not too long ago.
And she's just, like, she always gave.
such positive energy and I love that. I really resonate with that.
Gabrielle, it's been so fun to talk with you. Congratulations on this amazing win.
It must be so cool. I mean, obviously this show like, I don't know if you were a fan
as a kid. I was growing up. I think so many people watching this, both young and old,
are finding the show to be fun and nostalgic and it's so cool that you won such a fascinating
show and clearly took a lot of talent and wit and you're obviously very deserving. So
congratulations. Thank you so much. This was so.
so much fun. I appreciate you even having me on. Like, this is a dream come true for me.
Well, thanks for saying. We appreciate you. And it's always great to talk to fascinating people like
you and the winner of the Wonka Challenge. I didn't mention, but I have a kids book that I wrote
and it's coming out next week. And it's all about like channeling positive vibes. So I would
love to send you a copy for your kids. Yeah, send us a copy. What's the name of the book?
It's called Wavey the Wonder Wave. And it's a little positive wave that teaches Dave how to channel his
negative emotions into positive ones.
Where can people find this?
Amazon.
It's going to be on Amazon next week.
How are you like what?
How are you so impressive?
Like what?
Like I was not at 20.
How old are you again?
22.
You got a non-for-profit.
You're writing books.
I'm about to go on tour with AJ McLean.
A.J. McLean.
How did you get such a like, I mean,
were always this ambitious?
Like clearly you were you were ahead of the curve,
so to speak,
when it comes to most 22-year-olds or 40-year-olds.
Well, thank you. Yeah, I mean, I left regular schooling in seventh grade. Kids were just really mean. And I had priorities in life, which was to be where I'm at today. So I decided to leave. I did homeschooling throughout high school. And I was bouncing back and forth from New York in L.A. doing little kids productions in New York, whatever I could find. I didn't care if I was an extra. I just wanted to get out there.
and meet people and get my foot in the door,
I'm a hustler.
I always have been.
I get it from my parents.
And then from there,
I graduated high school in three years at 17,
moved all the way out to Berkeley, California.
I attended the University of California, Berkeley,
graduated in three years,
and then moved out to L.A. last year in February.
And my apartment, you could see the Netflix sign,
I'm a big believer of manifestation and just positive thinking.
So I was trying to figure out ways
how I could air-drop my resume to the people at Netflix just so I could get a job or something.
And then three days later, I was sitting on the floor of my apartment because I had no furniture
yet. And the ad popped up for Wonka's Golden Ticket and seven months later and my life changed
forever. So it's all about persistence. I really don't believe in luck. I just believe that if you
have a positive outlook on life, good things will happen for you. And you just got to stick with them.
You can't give up. And that's what I've been doing. And it's just the start. Like I'm nowhere near
finish. So I'm just excited to be able to share that with some people, hopefully the world
someday. Very impressive. Any advice, like I have three young daughters. They're three under three.
But if, uh, I hope they are as ambitious and as accomplished as you, any, any advice as a dad that I can
give to my daughters that you think would resonate with them as they kind of get older in their teen
years, you know? My biggest one is just to block out the noise and for them to really stay true to
who they are and their upbringing and their morals because it's so easy to get caught up,
especially nowadays in the fast pace of social media and, you know, things are always coming
at rapid moments at all points of the day. So if they are able to block that out,
ride their own wave of positivity throughout their own life journey, I kid you not, that is the
key to success, especially now. Like, just tapping into who you are as a person, being unapologetically
yourself, that takes the cake any single day and every day. I mean, and that's how I played the game
too on the show. I was myself. I was in the corner putting my red light on my face. I didn't care
what people thought about me. I played my game. I stayed, you know, genuine, nice,
maintained my relationships when I needed to. But at the end of the day, it was me versus me
in there. And there was only one winner. So yeah, I would tell them, tell them to ride their own way
do their own thing and try everything.
Do it all.
Like, don't put yourself in one box.
Oh, that's great.
As a fan of reality TV,
you'll have to come back and break down some shows with us if you want to.
And just like just...
Oh my God.
Wait, I would love to.
Just talk reality TV.
Wait, this is awesome.
Please.
You're a friend of the show now.
Oh, is this real?
Stop.
I'm fan-girling.
I'm so impressed.
Like, even more impressed after,
after speaking with you. But congratulations again. What an incredible accomplishment.
Thank you so much. You're the best. Thanks so much.
Jimmy, what would you spend three million dollars on? Or probably $1.5 million
because, you know, that government's going to take their cut. First thought, coffee shop,
and basketball gym. Really? Yeah. You can't judge him for his $1.5 million spending.
What would you spend it on? That's what I would do. You couldn't just find another gym to go to that you'd want to
spend all that money just on your own gym? I'd buy myself like a whole Madden League.
I would buy a basketball gym.
Okay.
Would you, if it's just for yourself, or would you charge and let other people come?
Oh, I would turn into a public gym.
A boom in business.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
So coffee and hoops.
I would have to think this through.
Jimmy, I got a random question.
How do you plan on proposing to your wife?
Getting on one knee and handing her a ring.
Nah, I don't know.
I saw, there was a commercial out there.
I don't want to calm out because I, you know, whatever.
It's a lovely commercial.
It's a Julia commercial.
And in this commercial, they are, like, they play a montage of all these men proposing to their partners.
And in, in the commercial, they're at the grocery store.
And the guy just like, he's handing her oranges or apples.
And then he like hands it, and then he hands a ring.
And honestly, he hands her a ring.
And honestly, in the, in the commercial, like, he did pull it off.
It was, it was quite charming.
But I just, I just kept thinking to myself, in the real world, like, if I did that at a, like, would you tell me to
put her away at a grocery store then it's cute that's the only that's the only way that's okay even then
i think you still have to do like a second beautiful proposal or something private you immediately have to
leave the grocery store like can you imagine like having one of those an amazing moment and then be like
all right well i guess like you got then you have to wait in line and be like you know oh you go up to
the meet conner and then you have to do the whole thing that were you here first were you here first
whose turn is it it's like oh we just got engaged and then sharing that whole story she's crying
Yeah, like you up to the cashier, like one of the first moments, one of the first people you're enjoying this moment with is the cashier at the grocery store who's asking if you want paper or plastic.
Anyways, it just good bit for a commercial, bad bit for real life.
What are you going to do, though?
It made me think you.
There's no way he could have that plan.
You didn't have ours planned, years of advance.
Yeah, but I, yeah, but I, yeah, but I knew I didn't want to get married.
I knew I didn't want to do that.
I had this vision of doing it in Santorini where the most beautiful sunset is in the world.
That's like the vision I had.
but what if this, what if Santorini means nothing to my future wife?
Then I might have to.
Well, there is that.
You know, definitely ask her what she wants.
That's the easiest way to be successful.
I've been thinking about just getting a couple in.
I like weddings.
Think about throwing a couple different weddings, you know, just, you know.
So, yeah, a couple divorces that would lead to as well.
Yeah.
At least I get practice for the proposal, the official one.
What if somebody proposed with a dildo in their hand?
Who you asking?
Like Lisa Barlow was holding in the real house was in Salt Lake City
Jimmy don't you have a question about Dildos?
Yeah, I have a question about like the double standard of
Of toys for masturbation.
Oh, please. Let's start.
I'm just wondering like because I feel like-
Are you saying you feel like you want a toy but you feel like you can't
Just hear me out?
Yeah, yeah, let's hear him out.
I feel like dildos are like common and like widely accepted.
Whereas like a fleshlight.
sounds crazy or like a pocket pussy feels just like insane.
I beg your part of it?
But they're both they're both toys used for the same purpose.
That's what's called.
It's disgusting.
Do you?
That's disgusting.
I agree.
I agree.
I do not.
But you want one.
I feel like without judgment.
No, no, no.
I'm just, I'm curious about the double standard like the dildos versus the flush lights.
First of all, I think there is no double standard because.
men can go into a bathroom and wank that thing and they're done in about 0.5 seconds.
It's so convenient.
Now us women, I got to be, it's got to be quiet.
And I've got to be home alone.
And the light's got to be a little bit dim.
I got to be under the covers.
My legs have to be straight.
There's a lot of things that have to be going on for me to get.
Yes, straight.
Why do you have questions about that?
Like, because I kind of feel uncomfortable.
I would like a little bit.
A little like a little stirrup thing.
You do not want to bend.
Spread easily.
Next time we have sex, I'm going to look down and wonder if your legs are straight.
They have to be straight because everything you're your...
Yo, you point that toe.
Lock in.
You know what?
I'm not explaining this to you too, because men get the easiest way out, okay?
And y'all don't need...
Is that a youth thing with a straight leg or...
I think it's a wildly accepted women experience.
Okay.
Yeah.
And I think if you're not a.
experiencing an orgasm with straight legs, you need to reevaluate what you're doing and try it out.
There's a follow-up question. The adult film entertainment consumption, right? For men,
we hear like, you know, is epidemic men masturbate too much, right? And they do. But is it,
is it the, can I say porn on here? My life. Yeah, you can say porn. Okay. Is it, is it consuming the
porn that is the bad part or is it the act of masturbating that is the bad? I think it's the porn part.
It's all disgusting.
I agree.
I agree.
So then when the girls use the dildar, are they just like reading like a romantic novel or are they just like envisioning like their lover?
We're in our heads.
That's beautiful.
Good for y'all.
I got to get there.
I'm in my head or I'm watching 365 day yacht scene on Netflix.
Have you ever put that on?
Yes, I have.
Just.
Yes, I have.
Has anyone ever know?
Y'all have got to see the yacht scene.
Next time I see that and read it.
I've never just casually thrown up brazzers on the TV.
First of all, it has Mike, what is his name?
Michael, what is his name?
Michael Morone or Michelle Marone?
Yes, it is Michael Morone.
I can't wait to see that on recently watched on Netflix.
It's on there.
It's on there.
If we want an explanation of sex toy double standards,
traditional cultural scripts treat female sexuality as something that needs help or unlocking,
whereas male sexuality is stereotyped as hyperactive,
uncontrollable or purely primal,
making solo devices for men seem redundant
or perverted to outside observers.
Female-oriented products are commonly marketed
as sleek, soft, discreet, and wellness-focused,
often resembling abstract art or cosmetics.
Male-oriented products are frequently stereotyped
as hyper-realistic, grotesque, or mechanical
which amplifies societal cringe or taboo.
They are fucking disturbing.
Because we are dainty and beautiful creatures
and...
What if they just want to butt plug?
Isn't that pretty sleek and simple?
No?
I don't think I've ever seen a butt plug in person, honestly.
What does it butt plug do?
I don't want to get into this.
I really was just trying to transition into Salt Lake City.
Yeah, I really unlocked a whole new conversation, Mary.
I'm sorry, y'all.
She'll love.
Getting back to Lisa handing over that dildo to Bronwyn, I have to say, I think this was a bad episode for Angie.
And I think it's only going to get worse.
I think she's being a bully.
and being mean to Lisa, and she's only doing it because she's like nothing else to say.
The whole lip conversation at the dinner and her being like, your lips look like a vagina turned side.
It was like, whoa, like first of all.
Lips look wonderful.
And all vaginas are beautiful.
I'm really on my women today.
Can't get off this topic.
No, but it just felt so mean.
And like you've been doing your lips.
You look like a clown.
You look like a, I don't know.
It just felt really below the belt.
Jimmy, have you, do you, do you say I love you?
in a casual way to your girlfriends?
I say love.
Like, all right, love.
Love.
Has that ever gotten confusing
in a relationship?
It depends on the relationship.
Like, if I, I'm just,
I say to my boys, like,
let me get up what you love.
It's just kind of like,
goodbye.
Take a girl home, you have sex.
I would never use the word love
if I didn't.
Yeah, I thought you meant like a home girl.
Like, if there was like anything romantic,
anything intimate.
No, no, like a girl you're seeing,
a girl you're hooking up with.
Anything like that,
I'm not playing around with that word.
love. Me personally. I don't...
Because Heather's telling her boyfriend, they say, I love you, but they're not in love.
Yeah, I could never. I can't. I don't really understand that.
Do you think they're just trying it out?
Taking the L word for a spin?
I have learned that people do use it differently. Like, depending where you're from, how you grew up,
which parents showed you, like, some people do is to say, I love you very kind of flippantly.
I definitely did. And then Nick was like, please stop telling the moment that you love them.
And I was like, heard. I understand. I understand. It definitely is too far for sure.
I feel bad that I'm very, very interested in Brown's divorce.
Because she was introduced in this show as like the wife of Todd who was like introduced to us as like this
tech investor.
I thought like at first he's like worth a billion dollars and I don't think he's worth a billion
dollars, but it sounds like he's worth a lot of money, but no one really knows how much money.
I really want to know how much she's getting in the divorce.
I love it when she was like, he, you know, she's like, do you think he could, do you think he could
screw you over?
And she's like, yeah, he gets a little feisty about me fucking other guys.
She didn't say that.
specifically.
Spicy about the brand and stuff.
The brand and stuff.
I'm like, well, yeah.
And like, honestly,
Heather is so right.
Her being like,
the ink isn't even dry
and you're like rubbing it in his face
that you've moved on.
You're with this hot younger guy.
Yeah, it's all over the press.
All over the press.
He's filming the show with you.
Yeah, he's on the show.
You've, like, he's literally been,
as the world knows,
he's,
he's gone.
Do we know the details of their pre-knap?
They don't have one.
According to Browen, there's no pre-nob.
She damn, it just came up.
Yeah.
I'd be doing my big one, too.
What?
Yeah.
I don't know.
I think pre-ups are fascinating.
How so?
I just think, like, how people go about them differently and, like, you know, which couples
decide to not get one.
Like, I don't think any of my brothers have a pre-up.
What's crazy about a pre-nob is that everyone, the thing that people don't know is everyone
signs a pre-nub.
But in terms of, like, you know, do I get to keep what's mine?
Are we going 50-50?
But like if you, whatever state you get married in, if you don't have a pre-nub, if you and your partner, the person you're supposed to agree on life to and plan a family together and share your finances, if you don't have the awkward conversation, like, you know, like, but you're about to get married. You're supposed to have a lot of these conversations. If you can't have this conversation, what are you doing? But if you don't have that conversation, the pre-nub you are signing is the one that the state that you get married in comes up with. So you are agreeing to their rules regardless. What are the default
rules like 50.
Depends on the state year in.
Even more fascinating.
Okay.
But you are signing a pre-up.
Like, all it is is an agreement on what happens if this marriage gets
dissolved.
So you either can make your own rules.
You can make your own rules or you can make your own rules or you can just state rules for you.
I made Nick sent a pre-up.
I was like, you're not getting any of my shit.
But when you think of it that way, like, it's a no-brainer.
And you know what I'm talking about.
You know what I'm referring to.
Like when the financial gap or the disparity is very obvious, but the love is also.
obvious. So it's like, but anything can happen, you know, like.
I think no matter what, everyone, no matter who you are, no matter where you are,
no matter what your job is, everyone should sign a pre-knap.
But then we just establish that no matter what, if you get married, you do. So like the,
the terms of the pre-no. Right, but you should make your own, I guess, yeah, you should make your
own rules for your own pre-nup, I guess. Like, if you're like Todd, you know, you could have been
like, well, you know, like I had all this money before we met. I just think about whoever I
end up, you know, marrying or whoever I end up selling down with, it's probably going to be somebody
that I meet later in life. I've been, like, grinding, you know what I'm saying? It's just like,
I'll be damned if I just met you now. And, you know, we have a great five years and all of a sudden
things crash and burn. Like, so now the 30 years of the work I put in is like, you getting that?
Like, ooh, that just makes my stomach turn. Yeah. That might be the state of Illinois law. I don't
know what that is, but... Good thing. I'm an L.A. baby now.
Oh, he's the LA baby now.
Well, actually, no, it's worse.
Wisconsin and LA, Wisconsin and California, to my knowledge, I believe, are the only 50-50 states, which means that, like, regardless, it doesn't matter infidelity, it doesn't matter what happens.
If you sign the California or Wisconsin pre-nub, half, no matter what.
I'm going to get married in Florida.
They got their own set of rules.
Florida's a while while west.
I am loving this new housewife, though.
Yeah, I love Ashley Kwai.
She seems like you don't want to get in her bad.
side in a good way. I agree. I also feel her pain when it came to that conversation with Whitney
or when Whitney was trying to be like, you're trying to tell me that we didn't have that conversation
in my foyer. And she's like, no, I remember standing in your foyer. And they're just like having a
stare off. And it's like because you know that whatever she said about Meredith, they said it.
It really wasn't that bad. It was like, oh, she like moves in the group like calculator or something.
Whatever. They all fucking do. It wasn't that bad. But it was the fact that like her and Whitney clearly
have been friends for a while. Whitney gets her, Whitney and Lisa, I guess, get her onto this show.
And the way that Whitney so quickly turns her back on this girl to, like, just have drama and a
storyline on the show is crazy. Damn, so you think she just, like, took advantage of their,
their friendship and just was, like, made her a little pawn in their TV show, essentially?
I mean, yeah, I think she just was like, oh, this is good drama at the table. I'm going to tell
everyone that you talk shit about Meredith and then when you are shocked that I'm telling everyone
because we were genuinely friends, I'm going to act shocked that you aren't telling the truth.
You know, I don't know.
It was giving, it was giving I wanted to make more of this than it actually is.
But do you think she invited her on the show with that intention?
Like, this will be easy beef for me and like.
I don't know about that one, but I definitely think house, I do think friends get recruited
and then they get on the show and then all of a sudden the people who they thought were their
friends attack attack i mean it happened with bronwyn and lisa like Lisa brought
Bronwyn on and then that happened so fast i'm so afraid to say anything negative about
lisa barlow like the internet does not play about her i've come to learn honestly i said a lot of negative
things for a long time and that's i i survived did they come for you lease is a good sport about it
lease is the best sport in the world about it oh lit it's just a job our fans i'm not so you know
listen i'm sure i made a lot of enemies that i don't read about or pay a
attention to because of what I said about Lisa, but Lisa, God bless her, is not one of those enemies.
And I'm grateful. Is Lisa the one whose home is in the LLC?
No, is that someone else?
Rawans.
Bronwyn. Can you explain that to me how you can buy a home using your LLC?
It's something I think a lot of people do, especially public figures do. So it makes it harder
for the public to find out where they actually live. Because when you buy a house, as as, as
as Brittany showed us, it's public record.
So you can look up like, you can, yeah, you can look up their name and like you can get
access to their, where their house is and how much they spent and yada, yada, yada. So you could put,
you can buy your house. You put into trust. But to put in a trust, you have to have a business
name. So people will create LLCs and they'll make up some whatever name like, you know,
coffee lover 23 is the name of this LLC, you know, and it's just, like an aim account name back
in the day. Yeah. And you put it like into a trust. It's like a legal.
protection and that way like people can't necessarily they they wouldn't know where to go to look for your
house because it's not under your name is that what rich people do nowadays like is that like the move
it seems like the move honestly for proxy when you buy your house you should definitely do that
100% but say less you'll get better protections and things like that but most more most like
but the first and foremost is like it won't be under your public name and so if you pick a name of
your LLC that has like you know nothing really to do with you or hard you know it's just some random thing
will be much harder for people to find.
Interesting.
Appreciate it.
So, Bronwyn did that?
Bronwyn didn't do that.
It sounds like, oh, wait.
No, Todd.
But how did she, yeah, so how did she find out the name of the LLC then?
Interesting.
Maybe I'm wrong then.
Because it is under an LLC and looked like in Bronwyn found it out.
These house lives are crafter than I ever could have thought.
I guess Todd bought the house under an LLC and then.
Yeah, but how did Brittany know that?
Maybe he bought it under like his actual company name or something.
If they, like, signed it together.
And Brunner was like, yeah, we did.
But her name's not on it because it's the LLC.
That's why they were saying she didn't actually own the house.
Yeah.
Is what Brittany was trying to argue.
Hear me out, though, can you also, if, like, me, like, I'm a content creator,
can I make content in the house?
And because I bought it under the LLC, can I also write off the house?
You can write off parts of it.
If you live there, it would be, you'd have to designate an amount of square footage for your, like,
So win-win,
sounds like.
You can already do that now, Jim.
But I don't own a house.
It doesn't matter.
You can still, like...
I know people do that with, like, their cars.
People that, like, do food reviews in their cars, like, they write off their car and stuff.
But if you could take a portion of your rent and deductory...
Why has nobody told me this?
Who does?
Do you do your taxes by yourself?
Mommager, baby.
Okay.
Oh, mommy does it.
Well?
Mommager.
Hell yeah.
Well, you know, maybe it's time to level up.
No offense, Mom.
No, no, no.
And my Dukes, we trust.
Anything going on an O-C?
Other than...
What's the word that they use that I would...
Factless.
Factless.
That Tamara's daughter.
Stunt?
Stunt.
Do you use stunt?
I've used it.
I'll use it like, I'll use stun.
But I don't use it often.
But like, yeah, casually.
Do you want to give us a definition, Jimmy?
I use stunting.
Like, yeah, like you poppin.
Like you're doing your thing.
Like, you look good.
Look the part.
It's stunned.
There's like a stunter shades.
Those sunglasses.
Those are a thing.
Isn't it wild?
that like one eventually at some point we're going to be like remember when we all said period
yeah my daughter's going to make fun of me no it's going to be a whole new that's going to be
so vintage when they're talking period yeah people still people still don't understand my use of
the word shorty so i feel like period and all these buzzwords are just going to take on new shapes
and forms is Alexis bellino the most desperate person on bravo she's definitely one of them
John Jansen as well.
John Jansen for sure.
How can you come on this show and call Heather these names that don't even like,
again, Heather's one of the most put together housewives and the way that she like acted
as if she rattled Heather or called Heather delusional.
Like Heather's the most undelusional housewife in the history of housewives.
That's why we like love Heather because like she never has to be delusional.
Her life is already fantastical and she has like common sense.
Every once in a while, like, she might, like, you know, not be totally honest about the paparazzi, but, like, that doesn't make her delusional.
I do feel like she heard the word feckless and was like, oh, I need to, that's like such a good dig.
I need to give that.
You know, like, she practiced it.
It's like my brother-in-law once used the term prevaricate, which means, like, to lie.
And I have always wanted to throw it in a sentence.
But it just doesn't roll off the tongue.
And neither does feckless.
Feckless is an actual word?
Yeah.
Wow.
They looked it up.
Doesn't it mean like ignorant or dumb?
It feels good to say, though, I will say.
Feckless is an adjective that means lacking initiative, character, responsibility, or effectiveness.
Incompetent, feeble, careless.
And then she called Heather?
Yes.
That's crazy.
Yeah, she could have just used it for somebody else.
Maybe used it for herself.
How about Mary's just like in the shadows?
Lurking, homing in the background.
Is there any else Mary about OC that we should get into?
Maybe just sending love to.
Archie and Shannon. That was heartbreaking,
watching Shannon with her dogs and, like,
facetiming her daughter and then it doing the, like,
replay of her with her kids when they were younger and, like,
how the dog has grown up with it. It makes me like,
I can't jump and Steve. It's, like, so sad.
You don't even want to think about it.
They need to make a new rule with housewives.
You have to come on the trips if you're going to be a housewife.
You have to go on these trips.
I'm loving her this new season, and I'm missing her in Tokyo.
I also love like when you watch these shows
and they every time they go on a trip
and I'm always like oh god now we have to fly to Tokyo
how long is that flight 15 hours and they're there
and it makes me real like that's why
that's why my if I ever had a superpower
I wanted to be the to teleport
yeah like they do in Bravo or any other
like reality TV show I would fly to enjoy the ride there
well I think they'll wrap up some housewife
I think we're just in a law like it's Salt Lake City's like
taking off overseas like celebrating 20 years
There's just not a lot of drama.
We do have Potomac that aired on Sunday,
and those ladies are always giving.
Jimmy, you're going to like Potomac.
Where is Potomac?
It's in like Washington?
Yeah, like Washington, D.C. area.
Oh, Pacific Northwest.
Oh, Washington, D.C.
D.C.
D.C. Oh, D.M.V.
Yeah.
Interesting.
Well, we'll talk about Potomac tomorrow.
We also have Kelly Ben Simone on tomorrow.
A fantastic interview with Kelly.
She is part of the iconic cast
of the Golden Life, many of the OG
Rony Women. Kelly is with us to talk about the new show. I honestly, after talking to Kelly,
I am so much more excited about The Golden Life than I was before talking to Kelly. I'm excited for
you guys to hear that tomorrow. To wrap things up, we have Sherry from Trader's New Blood. I don't know
how you feel, but every time I interview these people of Trader's New Blood, these people have
these big giant personalities that are not coming through the TV screen. I don't know if it's
because everyone's got a big personality, but like, yeah, the absolute character. Maybe they're just
excited to talk to us, you know? Maybe they just love coming on a show.
Sherry, the oldest amongst the cast joins us next.
She's an absolute delight.
We get to hear about her experience,
what she thought about being unlimited from the show,
what she thinks about the rest of her cast,
and she is up next.
Sherry, welcome to the show.
I'm excited to be here.
Thanks for having me.
Very excited to have you.
Sad that you were banished.
I mean, you know, it happens.
I actually had fun with my banishment,
so there is that.
I enjoyed it.
Tell me more.
Why was it so fun?
Well, I mean, you know the vibe.
Like as soon as you walk in, I mean, you know, I can read a room and I was reading that it was not going to go well for me.
But I just go, okay, first I got to have my piece about Jay.
I'm just like, you know, banish me after, but I'm going to, I'm going to have my piece about Jay.
Because he was like, you know, creating a crop pot of confusion that we were all simmering in.
I mean, as a faithful, we couldn't focus on the trader because all the talk was about Jay, Jay, Jay.
I'm like, he's got to go.
So I had a to do list.
I go, yeah, this is probably going to happen.
Let's say your piece about Jay first.
And then, you know, tried to defend myself to the best of my ability.
But, you know, math is hard, Nick.
It's really hard.
Two plus two people, it's hard.
Alan said two traders adding another one.
Math is hard for some people.
So, you know, we got to give grace.
We got to give grace.
Did you think Jay was a traitor or was he just pissed you off?
No, he was not a traitor.
You know, no, he was just, no traitor would act out like that.
And people go, it's a double bluff.
I go, it's not a double bluff.
He's just being a fool.
So, no, there's no double bluff.
You came in and you were noticeably quiet with your peers early on.
And then you...
This was my strategy.
Would you like to hear it?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So we get to the castle, and that's the first time you're seeing everybody.
Sure, you saw a couple people on the choo-choo train, but you get to the castle.
So you're seeing everyone.
And so I'm clocking, you know, faces.
And I go, no, I'm there.
I'm the oldest person here.
I go, where's the grumpy 70-year-old man?
I did not want to be the oldest person there.
But the oldest person by decades.
Like, I think Joe was the oldest person, man, and he's 44.
I got two plus decades on him.
And then Tamika and Christy were like 50.
I'm 65.
I'm like, oh, no.
So let's pivot in how we're going to play this game.
So I knew if I came in 100% full personality,
I was worried about some okay boomer vibes, you know?
There's a target on your back being a boomer.
Well, Donna Kelsey got, she got an early, early elimination too.
Yeah, so I'm just like, you don't want to do that.
So I go, you know, I'm going to go in low and smoky.
You know, I'm going to observe.
I'm going to be super nice, not try to mother these people because that's obnoxious.
You know what I mean?
So just be nice, low key.
I'm a journalist by trade.
So I know you learn more, you know, listening.
and talking. So, and then, you know, and I would collect evidence. So that was like, you know,
that was my theory, especially as soon as I saw a oldest person there. I also knew that I needed to
bring it on all the challenges, missions, whatever. And I'm fine with that. So, you know, like,
oh, you can't handle that. Give me that, you know. So because you don't want to be the person that I can't
do the talent, you know, you want to like be a member of the team and you've got to be able to deliver on anything
you know, an athletic mission, which, like, I enjoyed very much.
So, and then, though, something happened on my journey.
I got, I was really mad at myself for voting to get rid of Madeline and ERISA and, like, banishing.
It was, like, terrible.
And I didn't know I'd feel that much guilt about it.
And then I was really mad that, like, you know, what, we're just getting rid of women.
I mean, come on, come on.
So I got a little activated.
And I'm like, you know, we got to stop this.
And you can see on the show where I go to Abby, I go, we got to get rid of a guy.
We get rid of, I mean, you know, and that's when I said, all the three, you know, people in the turd, they all can't be, you know, women.
And, you know, she took off and ran with that.
Yeah, no, you got screwed there because that was definitely a logical thought.
I'm a very logical person.
And I've watched like UK traders, all these different traders.
I go, the common, the average number in the turret is three.
If there's not three, it's an anomaly.
But it's always three.
It's a safe bet to say.
But like I said, math is hard for some people.
You would think for an astrophysicist, she would have been able to keep up with that, though, at least.
I'm going to have no comment on that.
Do you regret saying that, or do you regret, or do you wish you would have delivered it in a different way that would have maybe taken the target off your back?
Or do you think there was no way to do that?
Well, the thing that I regret most is my posture, because you forget there's cameras around.
and like I'm seeing myself on TV like slouched over like the hunch a hunchback.
I'm like, oh my God, why didn't I sit up straighter?
So, no, I don't think there's any way that you could have, I mean, I guess I could have said possibly.
There's possibly three traitors in the castle.
But I didn't know it was like, you know, on a deposition.
So, no, I just like three, that's common knowledge.
It's common sense.
That's like nothing to be worried about.
Alas, I was so very, very wrong.
Who, once you got banished, did you get to notice?
anyone who looked the most guilty,
not, or that felt the worst about getting you wrong?
Well, the people that I really liked did not vote for me.
Okay.
So that was good.
You know, that was good.
So I'm like, okay, excellent.
And then the people that voted for me, I was just like, honestly, at that time,
God's honest truth.
I'm like, okay, you're going to be banished.
Let's make a good exit.
Because I didn't want to ever be murdered because you never have the last word.
If there's one thing I love is having the last.
word. I mean, I live for it. It just asked my husband. Um, so any fight, I better have that last word.
So I'm thinking, okay, my outfit's cute. So that's a win. And I'm like, you know, what am I going to,
you know, say when I go up there? Because I don't want to waste, you know, my banishment moment.
Um, but, you know, and I didn't want to, you know, I mean, usually you thank everybody and blah,
blah, blah. And I'm like, yeah, I don't think I'm going to do that. I was feeling feisty.
So I just leaned into it. And I enjoyed it very, very much.
Because obviously hindsight is 20, and like, getting to know you now just in these brief seconds,
like you have so much personality. Do you maybe wish, do you maybe think you were maybe too
calculated with your approach or like you wish you were maybe just a little bit more of just
yourself and that would have resonated a bit more?
Sweet Jimmy, I have played that over and over again in my head. And I just really think,
and one, let me just tell I'm a little delusional. So let's weigh that and everything I'm saying.
I just really think that if I had come in like full 100% me, people would have been like,
what's that old lady?
You know, the age vibe is real.
It's real.
And, you know, there's a lot of main character energy in the castle.
I mean, you know, I'm not talking at a 10.
I'm talking about 100.
And I just felt like I would have been competing for attention.
And, you know, I don't feel like I have to compete for attention.
But I don't know.
I mean, like, Jimmy, I played that back in my head over and over again.
I think they would have been like, she needs to shut up.
Who's that?
You know, honestly, I do.
I think I was better going in, like, you know, trying to find out, like, you know, who I thought was a traitor was actually going on.
Plus, full disclosure and confession time, I was pouty the whole time I wasn't a traitor.
Seriously, a part of my brain was like super ticked off.
I wasn't a traitor because I wanted to be a traitor so badly.
So part of me was like, oh, I am I not a traitor?
Sure. So, you know, but yeah, I play it over and over. I'll just be walking my dog and I'll still think about, should I have just gone in like 100% full me? But, you know, it's a classic conundrum that I think women get a lot. You're not enough. And then when you show more, it's like, oh, you're too much. That's what I felt happened.
How would you have been a better trader than the three traders that were selected?
I thought the selection process was genius, actually, because Joe was Mr. Popular.
I mean, he was like the most beloved in the castle.
Like, Joe would trade her?
Forget about it.
Tamiko was wonderful and she's like super smart.
And then Katie's perfect because she's the youngest and no one would think, oh, you know,
she's like, what is she 23?
Like, you know, why would they have Katie?
So I think how they selected the traders was awesome.
I just think the game plays more to my traitor's strength.
Because as my children have said to me many times over the years,
I'm an excellent gaslighter.
I'm a pretty good fibrer.
You guys have kids.
Are you even parenting if you're not gaslighting?
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
Oh, you're the best soccer player.
Don't quit.
You're the best.
You just need to work a little harder when your kid actually stinks at soccer,
but you don't want them to quit.
You know, because it's a life lesson.
You can have a popsicle if you go peepee on the potty.
Oh, I didn't say you could have a popsicle.
Who said you could have a popsicle?
Never said that.
We fake cry all the time.
So true.
We are master manipulators.
No, mommy's going to lay here with you.
I'm not going to get up and go to my bed.
I'm going to stay here soon as they're asleep.
You're hauling out of there.
The amount of times that I've laid down with River,
and then she's like, oh, can you turn the fan on?
And I'm like, I'll turn it on when I leave.
And then she's like, what?
And I'm like, what?
Oh, the tails we weave.
Would you've been good at tossing the apple?
Would you've been able to execute that?
I would have done it totally differently.
Yeah, I feel like they overcomplicated that whole thing.
They did overcomplicate.
I would have been like, that's where I would like play into my age and like trip or something
and be like, oh, oh, can you get that?
Oh, I wanted that apple.
So that's what I would have done.
I would have made it very easy, breezy, not like a big deal.
That's how I would have done it.
But, you know, it's, you're not there in the middle of it.
So I'm thinking of it now, but who knows what I would have, you know, done if that was
actually happening.
But that apple thing, that was cuckoo for cocoa puff.
I'm like, come on, guys.
Did you suspect something was going on with the whole apple thing in the moment when it was when it was happening?
Yeah, you would have to. It's like like Victor said, it's so weird. Like, when did you see Joe eat fruit? I mean, he was so weird. And really, nobody ever ate fruit except at the breakfast table and was cut fruit. You never saw anybody just like, you know, eat like a whole apple. So, yeah, that was, that was something to watch. It was just like, oh, my gosh, guys, come on.
So you're an accomplished published author.
Yes.
Snarking in the suburbs.
I am snarking the suburbs.
It's a whole series.
By day I give advice on the internet.
And usually it's, I hate my mother-in-law.
That's like the number one.
I have the worst mother-in-law ever.
And then it's about brides.
Like, you know, crazy brides, upset bridesmaids.
Yeah, it's a lot.
Which is why the book I'm working on now is about a mother-in-law murder.
Because why not?
But what is snarking in the suburbs?
Is it about like suburban drama?
Is it like housewives in your novels?
It's about suburban tyranny.
You know, and it's about revenge.
It's kind of revenge comedy because I love revenge.
I love getting revenge.
So, you know, I've had my share of like getting revenge.
What's the best mother-in-law or in-law advice you have for our audience?
If you are a mother-in-law, and this is what my mom did because she was a freaking genius,
she treated her daughter-in-laws like queens.
And my sister, I'd be like, you do anything.
for them. You'll let them do anything. You're so hard in us. And she goes, but they're my daughter-in-laws.
I treat them very differently. I mean, she kissed daughter-in-law backside. And she had a great
relationship with her daughter-in-laws. So there you go. Would she be mean to my sister and I?
You know, I mean, not me, but you know, that mom be, are you going to wear that? Sherry, no.
Uh-uh. Stop that. You know, she would, you know, maybe say stuff about our child rearing.
I don't know if I would have done that with her daughter-in-laws. Absolutely not. It was
just kissy, kissy, kiss, kiss.
So, and she had a great relationship.
So there you go.
There you go.
Love it.
Love it.
Give me who you think,
give me three people who you think are going to make the finals.
Well, I'm in love with Shane.
We were like the same person.
We were two pieces in a pod.
We were both kind of introvert, extroverts.
Like we, like, you know how some people,
they're extroverts and they just, like,
they're out of 10 all the time and they drain your energy.
And some people get hyped up by that.
Shane and I were the same.
Okay, this is kind of draining, you know.
they could take it down a notch.
So I love him.
So I'm totally rooting for him because I adore him.
He's like a great guy.
And then,
because Shane and Mark were the first two people I met.
We were in the two-two train together and just bond it with both of them.
So I'm going to say,
Shane and Mark,
and Katie as the little traitor,
oh my gosh.
I mean,
I'm kind of rooting for her too because I,
you know,
once again,
when the first people met and she's just like,
she's amazing.
So that's my trio that I'm rooting for,
my train buddies that I was close to.
Okay.
Okay. Well, Sherry, we're sad to see you go. You're obviously a breath of fresh here. We wish we
got to see more of this very dynamic personality on traders. But it was a real pleasure getting to
know you. I mean, could the show be about me more? Because what would be wrong with that?
That's why we're here. What would be wrong with that? Exactly. Love you guys. Thank you so much for
having me. This was fine. Thank you. We appreciate you, Sherry. Best of luck with everything.
Hi. Bye bye. Bye.
All right. Well, that will do it for today's episode. Thank you to our guest.
Gabrielle and Sherry, and we appreciate you all. Thanks for listening. We'll be back tomorrow with
Kelly, Ben, Simone, and a lot more. See you then. Bye-bye.
