Starting point is 00:00:00 what's going on everybody welcome back to another exciting episode of the vile files going deeper edition i'm your host nick joined, joined by Allie in the studio. Amanda is in Brooklyn? Amanda's in Brooklyn. All right. What's new? What's going on? Hung out with you over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Allie was a good employee who came to my party. Amanda was on a wedding. Amanda was a terrible employee who went to be a bridesmaid in her cousin's wedding. And missed the party. It's okay. And I want to get caught up. What? Tell me a little bit about it. Is it a good party?
Starting point is 00:00:52 I understand there was a theme. Like, how was it? It was Natalie and her friend Keaton's party, which has become like, it's coming on an annual event. I like, when I bought my house, like, I'm not a big partier or even entertainer, but every once in a while I did buy a house and fix up to the backyard. You know, this would be a cool place to like a host gatherings from time to time. So good space, good indoor outdoor vibes. Yeah. So every once in a while it's fun to do. Uh, but as a homeowner, you're like, I really want to do this. It was great. Uh, her friend Keaton, uh, her mom,
Starting point is 00:01:23 I like party plans on the side. It was Keaton's mom and aunt, I believe, like really like ran the whole show. Her mom, Shana, and her sister. And like, they were like, we're going to do this. And then things started showing up days in advance. Like they brought a bar. I mean, it was like, I love my girlfriend this much,
Starting point is 00:01:39 but I truly didn't do anything or have to spend any money. They're like, we're just going to do this. And they had a vinyl guy come, they had kitters come, she hooked it up. So like, shout out to Shauna out there. And then I pretended that I was like,
Starting point is 00:01:52 Oh, I don't know if this is okay because I really appreciated it. But yeah, it's an amazing party. Yeah. There's a DJ. Well, and it was like the little details too,
Starting point is 00:02:00 because it was like an all white theme, like in terms of like clothing, but they continued that over. So for example, like we we had there was like chick-fil-a sandwiches but they weren't in like the normal chick-fil-a bags there were specific monochromatic white and tan chick-fil-a bags yeah and doritos were not in like the normal doritos bags they were like resealed into like white doritos they had gnats snacks and keats treats. It was a super cute thing. It's not like my thing, but it made me realize just how cool you can throw a party if you want to. They have candles.
Starting point is 00:02:33 I mean, it was quite fun. I had a good time. And Allie did show up. I did. Well, now we're like neighbors. So I pretty much just like stumbled upon it. Yeah. What else did you do for Natalie's birthday?
Starting point is 00:02:44 Her birthday is today, actually. Ah. I'll give her a gift, and then we'll have dinner, and then we'll hang out. Are you excited about the gift? Was it something that once you decided on it, you got very proud of? I'm confident she'll like it. I've joked with, Natalie sometimes takes the fun out of it. This is what I've realized about her, is part of the gift receiving love language that she shares with others it's one of her many love
Starting point is 00:03:10 languages of she she's open to receiving love really anyway you give it to her but she likes gifts and I realized that part of gifts being her love language is the whole process of guessing what the gift is and I don't like lying. I'm just not a good liar. So like the, you know, I was like, she's like, oh, where are you? And I'm like, oh, I'm just, I'm still at the studio. But I wasn't at the studio.
Starting point is 00:03:37 I was getting a gift. And then I felt like bad. And then like, I was like, hey, I gotta be honest with you. Like I wasn't at the studio. I was just getting your birthday gift. I really don't like lying. i do not like lying to my girlfriend well i also think if you're an overthinker like i find lying to be the most stressful yeah because i was like i was like i'm thinking about the all the different ways that i was like oh what if she
Starting point is 00:03:56 was at work and she drove past me or a friend saw me i just saw nick walking to the store and then she's thinking i lied to her and i'm just like you know what it's not worth it i was getting your birthday present and then i wish i never told her that because then it was like she's been asking me all the day but i realized she likes doing it but like she also likes guessing what these presents are and some of her guesses i know she's joking but they're like extravagant and i'm just like no i didn't fucking get you a car you know she did that she did that with me though because i brought uh amanda and i got her a gift and it i brought her that i wrapped it and i put a photo of her at the like location that we put
Starting point is 00:04:32 the little i don't i don't know how to describe this like a photo of her at her sister's farm on the little jewelry box as like a hint and so i hand it to her and she was like oh my god this is so cute and i said yeah it's a hint for the gift and she like her jaw drops and she goes you got me a horse like that's natalie yeah i mean she's doing it for fun but like i've been giving her shit i'm like you're really taking the wind out of my sails i think she'll quite like it and she's very good at uh being great gracious grateful gracious and grateful very appreciative appreciative of gifts i think she'll like it yeah i think it's so interesting how fucking better people say guess like i'm someone who i'm like
Starting point is 00:05:11 i want you to guess i will guess i will guess i will get clues if i'm not getting there are you people who like will participate in guessing in all range of things i don't want to know natalie loves loves the fucking guys it's like a whole thing it's's like when people are like, let's play some riddles. Like, why don't I poke myself in the eye? No, Natalie's been like, I got your gift like months ago. Do you want to guess? I'm like, no. No.
Starting point is 00:05:32 It's so fun though when your friend is like, okay, guess who I ran into the other day at Orange Theory. No, I'm always like, I literally have no fucking clue. How about you just tell me and I won't have to like yeah i don't someone did that to me the other day they're like someone they were in our sorority and i was like i didn't and then i finally heard who it was and i was like i forgot she was even in our sorority i was like this isn't fun i'm with ali on this one i'm not part of it it's not a right or wrong thing it's a matter of personal preference and you and natalie i also talked to both of you for sharing one. Fuck you, Amanda. I hate your stupid guesses.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Wait, guess how I feel about you. Yeah. Guess what I want to say in response to that. All right. We'll keep the people guessing. We have a great episode for you. We do have a great episode for you. Shout out to all the people who helped Natalie and I throw a really cool party.
Starting point is 00:06:23 I appreciate it. Especially Shauna. The Lady Gang's with us. They're great. We also get into the whole Olivia Wilde of it all. Juicy, juicy stuff. We got some fun and exciting guests for you lined up. I'm not going to say who.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Guess. Guess. Guess who. I think you'll, some exclusives, I think. Post-breakup interviews, maybe. I think you'll be excited. I think post breakup interviews maybe I think you'll be excited
Starting point is 00:06:44 but I think the next two months will be promising for the show and for your ears for America for
Starting point is 00:06:53 why two months specifically because I think we have a lot of cool potential guests coming up over the next two months very cool
Starting point is 00:07:00 yeah you know it's like the summer's off not that we didn't have great guests in the summer but like a lot of people were like doing things. And it seems like there's some juicy
Starting point is 00:07:09 bites at the apple, some people ready to share their truths. And we're here to listen. So we'll see. Lady gang, everybody. Get away. Get away on vacation and with away luggage. I go to weddings with away. I go to Cancun withaway. I go to Europe withaway. I was doing a weekend getaway and I literally could not bear the thought of bringing anything other than my away bag because the charging port, the laundry bag, the ergonomic design. So I was a hero. I brought more than enough clothing. I brought books, Bluetooth speaker, all the goods because it lets you pack in such an efficient, organized manner and the wheels glide. 360 spinner wheels guarantee the smoothest roll and even in the most hectic airport stations.
Starting point is 00:07:52 They're incredibly durable. I mean, one of my away suitcases I've had for three years now looks brand new and I beat the crap out of it. Every suitcase comes with an interior organization system that includes a built-in compression pad to help you pack more and a hidden and removable laundry bag that separates your dirty clothes. You won't want to because you'll be in love with your Away suitcase,
Starting point is 00:08:33 even after the first few days. Luggage makes such a great gift. Treat yourself to some luggage. It's incredibly affordable. If you're listening to this and you're looking at your luggage that we all know your zipper's breaking, you got stuff popping out, it's super inconvenient. One of the wheels doesn't spin right. One of the wheels doesn't spin right. Maybe even stop by like one of the TSA's agents. That's not going to fit above. You have to check it.

Of the Lady Gang.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Thanks for having us back. I can't believe that we got invited back. You're surprised? Yes. Why? I mean, we can be a little embarrassing sometimes. I think that Nick and I's friendship has really grown over the past few years. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I'm just kidding. Like at first, I was clickbait, and now I'm friend. That's true. You were clickbait. Yeah. I forgot. I was just trying to like hustle you. And now, you know, we're on the same level-ish of the podcasting sphere.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Yeah. And Nick was so nice that when COVID happened, he hosted our book launch for our last book, Wartux. He's a great guy. He's always on time. He's a great friend. I am on time.
Starting point is 00:09:51 He's very punctual, which thrills me to the core. Or if I'm late, I will give you an appropriate heads up. It's not that much to ask. It's not. It's the least.
Starting point is 00:10:01 It's my pet peeve. It's a big one. But yeah, I am shocked that Kelty made a friend. She doesn't have many friends. So this is a big one. We're not really friends. Do you not like her that much?
Starting point is 00:10:11 No, I love Kelty. But we're co-workers first. Friends second. Friends second. But we have to be. That's the only way the Lady Gang works. Well, she is the, I feel like from what I know, like the business arm. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Of the franchise. I'm the Kris Jenner of the Lady Gang. Okay. You know what I know, like the business arm of the franchise. I'm the Kris Jenner of the Lady Gang. Okay. You know what I mean? Like I'll spin anything in our favor. Look over there. Look over there. First of all, Lady Secrets.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Yes, Kiltie. What does that mean? What are Lady Secrets? Are these secrets between the ladies? No, we wrote our new book. And basically what it is, is it's a collection of over 30 essays that Jack Beck and I each wrote. So on the Lady Gang podcast, we share everything about our lives, obviously. And so there's essays about infertility, baby, when I snuck onto the Oscars red carpet, why Julia Roberts hates me, when Jack went on a mission in Italy to find a head in a jar, how she accidentally went on a date with Josh Duhamel.
Starting point is 00:11:04 I mean, there's like many, many versions of stories in this. But then we also set up a line, 1-844-SEXY-LADY, where girls called in and they shared their wildest secrets. And so they range from a girl that has been lying about being narcoleptic for 17 years to avoid her in-laws at family functions.
Starting point is 00:11:21 She was lying about this. So she falls asleep every football game, Thanksgiving. She just. Yeah. Whenever she wants to like get out of a family function, she pretends that. No one bought into this? No. No, they believe it.
Starting point is 00:11:30 No one called bullshit? No. Everyone believes it. There's a lot. Everyone's cheating on their husbands. Everyone. Everyone. Everyone is cheating.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Everyone is pooping in places you shouldn't be pooping. Your pants, the letterbox, the boat. Everyone's pooping. Girls are pooping so much. And I feel like we're freeing the poop because like I think everyone's pooping their pants and no one ever wants to admit it. Every girl has like shit her pants publicly accidentally in her adult life. Yeah. Nobody's talking. That is one of the biggest themes that we have throughout the book. So it's kind of just like, you know, freeing the shame that everybody has of their deepest,
Starting point is 00:12:01 darkest secrets. And then there's lots of serious stuff, too. There's a there's a lot of like, well, wait, then there's some serious serious stuff too. There's a lot of like- Well, wait. Then there's some serious stuff. Everyone cheating on their husbands. That doesn't fall in the serious stuff department. To me, that falls in the cringe- And then there's the serious stuff. Like, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:16 full-on affairs that destroy families. Yeah, no big deal. No, then there's like, I mean, the serious stuff is really serious. There's like women saying postpartum depression, saying they wish they hadn't had children, rape, sex trafficking. Like, there's a lot. Someone's been sex trafficked?
Starting point is 00:12:31 Yes. It's a crazy, really sad, horrible story. Her husband was sex trafficking her to make money for their family. It's an insane essay. But you never think, like, you don't really ever think that's happening in the lady gang community when you look around you're like okay are we pooping our pants sure but like when the really serious essays came in we were like i can't believe this is like in our world you know so there's a lot and there's also everyone's cheating on their husband everyone so set me this is the thing that we learn you're married i'm engaged you're engaged the thing that
Starting point is 00:13:04 we learn are you cheating i'm not cheating no. You're engaged. The thing that we learn. Are you cheating? I'm not cheating. No. I literally could never. I would destroy my. I would die if I cheated. Do you think women cheat as much as men? Well, this is what I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Yes. So the whole thing is like men cheat on women. Like we're always worried that we're going to be with a cheater. Like that's the whole stereotype of like the gender roles. But what we have found out is women are probably cheating on men just as much, if not more. But we're like so much better at hiding it. Yeah. Excellent liars. And we have hobbies.
Starting point is 00:13:35 So it's easy to cover. What is going on? Like, would you be willing to share a lady's secret about how? Behind me the buckle. How? Look one up. Well, not so much looking it up, but I want to know
Starting point is 00:13:45 how do we catch these cheaters? If you're a guy and how are these ladies lying? How can we find them out? Or do we not want to do that? I mean, I just think that men and women operate in such different capacities
Starting point is 00:13:55 with that kind of stuff. Yeah. That you would have to start thinking like a girl. You say this with a sense of pride. Like women are smarter and men are cheaters. No.
Starting point is 00:14:03 I think it's that, like for instance one of the stories in lady secrets is about this woman who is so she's hooking up with a guy and then she ditches him and she goes home with a friend and then in the middle of the night she's having sex with a friend and the original guy comes in and they end up having a threesome that's fun that was a wild one. But that's not cheating. That's not cheating.
Starting point is 00:14:28 I mean, she was having sex with someone who wasn't her boyfriend. I mean, yeah, I guess that is considered cheating. But do you think in general there's a cheating epidemic going on amongst women as well? Yes. There always has been. Always. Always. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:40 I mean, since the beginning of time. Since the beginning of time? Well, since the beginning of relationships like a lot of humans are not made to be monogamous. I agree. Creatures. Yes. And societally we're put into these relationships, whatever. But yeah, I just think that it was very shocking getting all these different secrets of women talking about their affairs and stuff like that because we're too afraid to ever talk about it with friends or you know anybody close to us and it I just think stereotypically women don't have that yeah but you know how men were always like you need to feed the ego of a man like it's like let them help you with your car let them help carry the shit and like pretend that you need them you know what I mean when you don't really need them or that's what we're taught anyway on arsenics like what are you talking about but like it's like the man let the man be the man and then men's egos they need all this sexual attention and that's what causes them to cheat but i think females and i'm have a very masculine energy but i think females need the same thing like the times that i've been like maybe i need to go find a boyfriend
Starting point is 00:15:42 when i've been married have been very far and few. But it's always when I'm not getting that attention from my husband and he's not, you know, using my love languages to make me feel seen and important and special and all that stuff. So it's like it's when you lose the interest, when the spark goes out, it can go out on either side. Or it's like when she finds her high school boyfriend on Facebook. He's coming to our show in Boston, which I'm so excited about. Justin, can't wait to see you. Who? High school boyfriend?
Starting point is 00:16:08 Yeah. The one that got away because I just moved out of town. We never actually, we're still together. Yours. We never broke up. My high school boyfriend. But he is married and so are you. Married with children, yes.
Starting point is 00:16:18 But they're still dating. But we never actually broke up. Why not? I got a job and I moved when I was 18 out of my hometown. He's a hockey player and he was in Boston playing hockey. Just never had the condo. I just love a man with a big ass. Hockey players have such big thighs and big asses and it's so hot.
Starting point is 00:16:41 I agree. I mean, I have big thighs and a big ass. That's why I find you so attractive, Nick. Oh, wow. I do. I was, I had Greg over. Well, it was Natalie's birthday party this weekend. We had some people over.
Starting point is 00:16:54 And I loaned my swim shorts to some of my friends. Greg Grippo being one of them attended the birthday party. And his legs look very different in my swim shorts. Little chicken legs in those shorts? I didn't think I just had big, fat, meaty thighs. But yes, it was like, mine are like breaking the swim shorts. And he's a big guy.
Starting point is 00:17:10 He's my height, big guy. But our legs are different. I've noticed that it's... Maybe you skipped leg day a few times, you know? I think it's more I have big legs rather than... Did you play sports growing up? Oh, yeah. That's why.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Your muscles grew like that. I'm an athletic bod. I love a big butt. Anyway, enough about my butt. Anyways. Can I read you one of the secrets? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:31 It's called the climax. When I was in, this has been submitted by a lady ganger. When I was in elementary school, I would climb the rope in gym class or at recess, and I would get tingly feelings down there. Obviously, at that age, I had no idea what was happening. As I got older, still in elementary school, it started to feel even better. So I would climb that rope every chance I got. Sometimes it would even end really well, and I'd have to play it cool in front of everyone when I was done. I did this so often, even throughout junior high school. It wasn't
Starting point is 00:17:56 until my first orgasm with a guy in high school, good for you, by the way, that I realized what was happening to me every time I climbed the rope. Pretty sure I've had more orgasms as a child climbing rope than I had with men as an adult. And look, we drew a picture. The thing about Nick is you can't tell if he hates your guts.
Starting point is 00:18:13 I know. Like, I can't tell if you're enjoying this or if this is the worst interview you've ever done. It's wild. It's chaotic. But I'm just wondering
Starting point is 00:18:20 if you'd be talking about adolescence on the playground. We didn't talk about it. Not our playground. We didn't talk about it. Not our secret. I didn't talk about it. Somebody else's secret. I do keep it tight to the vest, so to speak. Yeah. So tight. Tight as that wife. Uncomfortably tight to the vest. Uncomfortably tight. Have there ever been secrets that you've received that you didn't feel like it was appropriate or acceptable to share? And how do how do you go about deciding like any kind of censorship if it exists? Great question. We did have some that were truly illegal. I mean,
Starting point is 00:18:50 there's definitely fraud, stealing crime in here, but like things that were literally like you should be in jail for. Or like an animal cruelty. Animal cruelty we kept out. Or they were like, I kill my animals. Like an accidental killing. What kind of audience do you ladies have? We have a couple killings of animals, but it's a hamster, so who cares? You know what I mean? Just replace that. Nobody will notice. Yeah. Some people like Macy's Jail.
Starting point is 00:19:14 Macy's Jail is where we cut the fraud crime line. You can go to Macy's Jail, but not real jail. And then some of them were just weird. Some of them were just so fucked up that it was like, this is not an enjoyable book to read in your bathtub before you go to bed. You know what I mean? Yeah. We're trying to keep things, I mean, except for the book is broken up into four different chapters. So there's cringy confessions. Mortifying. Gold medal confessions. The ones that you're like, I did something terrible, but like, yeah. And then there's like the vulnerable ones. You can skip over that if you're feeling sad.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Yeah. So they're all into like their own different categories. Exactly. And the amount of cringe or fuck yeah-ness. Nick, I did the chapter on when I was on The Bachelor. You were on The Bachelor? Yes. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:20:00 As a contestant? Yes. How have we never talked about this? Oh my God. You were on The Bachelor? Yes. How did I not know about this? Oh my God. You were on The Bachelor? Yes. How did I not know that? Well, because I was only on for one day.
Starting point is 00:20:09 It was way before your time. It was way before your time. And they didn't even invite me to after Final Rose because I was not important enough. Anyway, I wrote my answer. You went home night one? Who was The Bachelor? I went home night two. No.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Brad Womack was The Bachelor. Brad Womack, number two. You got a rose night one. Yeah. When he didn't know the names and he had to go out and be like. I'm not familiar. They're like, you're not familiar. Well, that's every bachelor.
Starting point is 00:20:30 That is? Yes. Yeah. When they're night one. They're like, go in and say Sarah. And he walks and he's like, Sarah. Oh, it's you. Cool.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Come on. I mean, night one. I mean, yeah. They don't remember 30 people's names. I feel like you only have one job. What? To remember people's names? Yes.
Starting point is 00:20:44 No, you probably only remember like three names that you're like night one when you're like really nervous about like TV cameras and they don't give you a
Starting point is 00:20:52 tip sheet to study beforehand or anything or no no that's the whole thing they don't want you to know you're meeting them for the first time it's supposed
Starting point is 00:20:58 to be a surprise afterwards yes yeah like help you you want to try to learn them as fast as possible
Starting point is 00:21:04 like your mnemonic devices and all that shit but during rose ceremonies they often say three or four names step away get three or four more names that's what happened it was so embarrassing and demoralizing i hated they literally do that every season i know it doesn't matter like i'm not memorable enough no obviously not my chain mail headband did not impress you brad womack look at me now oh you were one of those yeah no she did a high kick when i had i had a girl night one asked me if i remembered her name and i was like no i wouldn't have done that i was i thought it was really good and some girls on my it was ida marie ida marie yeah how did you not remember her i was like i don't know i'm not gonna
Starting point is 00:21:42 be here tomorrow got her damn no it was like the night one and know. I'm not going to be here tomorrow. Got her. Damn. No, it was like night one. And the first thing she asked me was like, do you remember my name? I'm like, oh, you're one of those. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I'm nervous.
Starting point is 00:21:53 You're nervous. You're trying to like challenge me. Yeah. Night one. Sort of build rapport. Yeah. Kelty does have the best exit interview of any contestant. It's fucking incredible.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Is it available for? Yes. It is on YouTube. Please watch it. It is desperate. It is chaotic. Well, it's a lot like this, like same energy. So I, well, it's all in the book. The reason that I went on the show, how it came to be, I had already met my husband now, Chris, and we had just started dating. And then I had dated somebody I was like, I'm not giving up this opportunity for like this dude I've been on four dates with, even though I like felt like he was my person. So I went and then I had dated somebody I was like I'm not giving up this opportunity for like this dude I've been on four dates with even though I like felt like he was my person so I went and then I made him buy me like the dress to wear on the final night like you know they make you
Starting point is 00:22:33 pack the like engagement dress or whatever so I'm like hey do you want to come with me I need to do some shopping on Saturday this is your now my husband but I was like he bought you your he didn't buy it for me i bought it for myself thank you nick but i did break up with him at the 101 cafe not break up with him but i was like i he was like will you be my girlfriend at breakfast and i was like i can't i'm going on the bachelor so you would have been one of those people had you made it to the end where he would have gone to us weekly and been like she broke up with me for the bachelor he would never have done that and i think that being such an egomaniac that if I had made it to the end, I wouldn't have even remembered him.
Starting point is 00:23:10 Wow, the truth comes out. I don't know. You are self-aware. You know, I don't know. I'm glad it all worked out the way it is. But my exit interview, and Nick, I think you can, well, no, you were farther along. But like they build you up so much. You're like stuck in that hotel for all these.
Starting point is 00:23:25 They take away your books. You can't even read. I've been reading for an hour before I go to sleep every night of my life. The anxiety was so high. And then they get you there and you're all ramped up and everyone's pretty and everyone smells like coconut butter. It's so delicious. And then when you fail, it was like the failure. It wasn't him.
Starting point is 00:23:44 It wasn't Brad and weird face womack i remember not wanting to like i just remember showing up and be like just don't go home you know early you don't want to fail and like i felt like two is almost worse than night one i feel like right it's like it's like hey you were cool enough to like the producers to make me keep her because she had a good story yeah and then night two is like i actually really hate her and i had to go in a room yeah it's like i didn't get a chance to know you didn't get a chance to know me keep her because she had a good story. Yeah. And then night two was like I actually really hate her and I had to go in a room to like get that one out. Yeah, it's like night one it's just like
Starting point is 00:24:07 I didn't get a chance to know, he didn't get a chance to know me. Yeah. And then night two it's like, oh, you should go. And he immediately doesn't like me.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Yeah, but the stuff that I had to do on my, this was 17 years ago or whatever, but like the stuff that they made me do in my challenge was so politically incorrect
Starting point is 00:24:22 that now they would just get, they would never do it. Wait, like a group date? My group date was like some blood drive. You know, they always try to be like, we're going to like emotionally scar you, but like, we're going to do it for charity. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it was like a blood drive or something. We all had to, we were doing PSAs, you know, filming. And so like Emily Maynard was like in a French, sexy French maid's costume. And like everyone
Starting point is 00:24:44 was like in slapping each other and doing like soap opera acting. And then they put me, my character was, this is not me. This is what the character was. Butch woman with two arm casts. They put me in a bald cap hat, two arm casts. And my scene was like sitting there with Brad Womack being like, like disgusting. What was the date? Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:25:04 A blood drive? It was a blood drive where you were doing like PSA little commercials, acting, and they were going to release them. So everyone had a different. What was your commercial for? Just the blood drive? It's like the important of getting,
Starting point is 00:25:16 I don't know how they do this. This is the reality TV. They just wanted me to wear two casts. And so ugly. It was horrible. And I'm already not a pretty face without hair. You gotta have hair. Okay, sorry. I gotta stop talking. No, it's okay. I didn't know
Starting point is 00:25:30 that you were ever on The Bachelor. Yes. It's worth a watch. My essay is called My Final Rose. Of course. She got two. No, you got one. Did you get one rose in total? You got one rose, yeah. And then like a whole set of luggage. I'm still marinating on all women cheat. Not all women. So not cheat. Not all women.
Starting point is 00:25:45 So not all. Not all women. You guys said everyone's cheating. Everybody. Well, you know. I think more people are cheating. Than you think. Than you think.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Women. I guess so. Yeah. My point was probably as many women are cheating as men are cheating. What's the key? I don't know. How do we make sure we're not being cheated on, I guess? You're not to be cheated on. How can we tell? I guess I want to know,
Starting point is 00:26:09 what are some red flags and what things we should notice, even though you guys are good liars, as you claim? Well, we aren't cheaters, so I don't really know. This time. Have you ever cheated? Me? No. Kelty, have you ever cheated before? Probably, yeah. I know. Kelty, have you ever cheated before? Probably, yeah. Probably, yeah? I had like six boyfriends at one time when I was 21.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Like at the same time, I would go in the corner. I'd have them all meet me at the bar in New York City and they'd each be in one corner. And I'd just be like, I'm going to the bathroom and then I would go see the next one. I was a hot piece of ass in New York City. So you were creating your own bachelorette for yourself? I don't know. I mean, no, not on someone important.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Okay. Not someone you're in a committed relationship with. Yeah. I mean, I feel like, I mean, unless you're the sneakiest person in the entire world, there's always going to be some type of a red flag. And it depends on if you are ignoring it, or if you're blocking it out, or if it's too hard for you to deal with at the moment but i feel like if you're in a relationship that you trust somebody and you are close with and you have a like a decent relationship with you like you you'll know there'll be some there'll be something a lot of these relationships are relationships where there's not a lot of paying attention to one another yeah no no for sure.
Starting point is 00:27:25 I mean, unless you're like very, very. The horror stories is when you always like hear the person who like was like, no, I really didn't see it. Or they have a complete double life that you didn't know about. And that happens a lot. Nick, one of the things I love about your show and your advice is that you're like, we really are pretty straightforward as like a gender, you know gender when you're dating a man. It's like, if we like you, you'll know. If we don't like you, you'll know. And I think with women, we're a little less straightforward.
Starting point is 00:27:53 So if we like you, you'll know. If we don't like you, you'll know. If we're having an existential crisis about our aging process or our own whatever, you won't know that. And that's where i think women cheat is like you need attention you need to feel something men get very lazy once they get you they're like oh i'm good like so do you think men get more lazy than women in committed relationships because women i feel like love a thing like they love to get dressed up and go to a wedding as
Starting point is 00:28:24 your date and it's fun and it's sexy and like you know. Like, they love to get dressed up and go to a wedding as your date, and it's fun, and it's sexy, and like, you know. Well, and I think— Men just get lazy. Well, and for women to be, you know, physically attracted to their person and want to have sex, it requires, I think, for a lot of women— A whole emotional thing. Yeah, it's like we need to feel emotionally connected. We need to feel taken care of. Warm.
Starting point is 00:28:40 We need to feel comfortable. We need to feel warm. We need to—Kelty needs to have, like, socks on. Like, it's a whole— Physically warm physically warm physically warm is important to me i'm emotionally warm too but she might physically warm but like women as a baseline just like need need a lot yes to just feel comfortable with their partner i mean i'm talking for myself every woman is different to want to be physical with them so if those things are kind of taken away then maybe you're not going to be as attracted to your as your partner sexually and want to be physical with them. So if those things are kind of taken away, then maybe you're not going to be as attracted to your as your partner sexually and want to be not wanting to be looking around.
Starting point is 00:29:11 But like then your eyes start wandering. Well, I would say on two, there's two separate ladies. There's lady who's like out for a night, one night stand, like having a hot make out, hooking up. And you don't, I don't need to be warm then. That's just exciting. Yeah. But when you're in a long-term relationship, which is when the cheating happens, there needs to be effort and in to like have that relationship be special and important and still feel beautiful and wanted and all of those things. And when you're not feeling that way, that's when you,
Starting point is 00:29:42 you know, and I think for me, and I'm just going to like give you a lady secret, Nick, one of the things we got a lot in the book submitted was like women who travel and they take their wedding rings off when they travel because they just want to like see what's out there. Which Kelty has done. I do that all the time. Not all the time, but I've probably done it a handful of times. What?
Starting point is 00:29:59 Why? What do you mean see what's out there? She wants to see it. If you still got it? Yeah. Like one time we were traveling as a group and like three blondes like on the plane in business class and we were so excited. And so then like I just didn't wear my ring
Starting point is 00:30:11 and I was trying to hit on the guy that was sitting next to me and he was not having it at all. Did you tell your husband you did this? Well, he heard about it on the podcast. And the funny thing is men don't give a shit if you're married or not. Men don't care if you're married at all. He wouldn't have even cared. I find my husband is hotter now don't give a shit if you're married or not. Men don't care if you're married at all. He wouldn't have even cared. I find my husband is hotter now that he has a wedding ring.
Starting point is 00:30:29 Like when you get married, Nick, the women are screwed. It's so attractive. A man with a wedding ring is so hot. Sorry. Isn't that an issue? What part? Yeah, probably.
Starting point is 00:30:42 It seems like all women want to have sex with married men yes you not all women you are going to the extremes with our statements that we're making well it's a common stereotype i've heard it before you've repeated the stereotype yes i think men want to have sex with married women too i think it's just generally humans want what they can't have yes do you think non-traditional relationships have its place in marriages? Is in like, not necessarily, yeah, some version of open relationships. Do you think those will continue to be on the rise? I have come to learn from many of my gay friends that apparently, and Amanda, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:31:22 I think I hear this with more gay men. So I don't know as a bisexual woman and and you might be able to add or not add to this conversation but I have heard from a lot of my male gay friends that it's common in the gay community in long-term relationships to like still date new people yeah but it's like it's a totally different type of thing than your relationship you know there's boundaries and there's some rules and i don't know what those rules are but they still go on dates sometimes and they're very happy very happy couples and i'm just wondering is the gay community doing something
Starting point is 00:31:58 correctly when it comes to you know prioritizing this relationship and this emotional real connection they build and they sometimes start families or just have this long-term partnership, but get their occasional fix because they, I don't know, want to fuck a blonde or something. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:16 And I'm just wondering, I see that talked about more and more in heterosexual relationships. And I've heard from many of my gay friends that that is a kind of unkept secret or a little known secret in the gay community where it's pretty prevalent. I'll say this. I've been married nine years, 12 years together. In the first five years we were together, if Chris went and had sex with someone else, I would be devastated. Now at year nine, I think I would
Starting point is 00:32:46 be more into it. I think the longer you're with someone and you build this life together, like I'm like Chris and I've talked about this on the podcast before. It's like Chris is my person. He's my human. We have our life. He's my favorite person on the planet. If it was his dream to go have sex with something else, a flavor that he couldn't get with the Kelty, I don't think I would be as upset. So I can absolutely see. There's a world where you could get on board. There's a world where I could be like, yes.
Starting point is 00:33:14 Like if he came to me and he was like, hey, I'm a little bit bored. There's no nipple tassel that can excite me. You know, like I'm always trying to keep it fresh, pulling out a nipple tassel every once in a while. Nipple tassels. You know, like. Anytime always trying to keep it fresh. Pulling out a nipple tassel every once in a while. Nipple tassels. Anytime she goes on vacation and has sex, there's a nipple tassel involved.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Not every time, but there was. It's fun. I would find that distracting. No, it's fabulous. It's very naughty. Not like a tassel that goes, I mean, I have done that too, but like they have pasties that have like... Yeah, but you've done the tassels. I did a tassel, yeah. It's hard to stick. But you would be down with it
Starting point is 00:33:45 if he up front... You have to be up front about it, right? You can't do it after the fact. That's my thing and I would want the same. Like if I was like, I'm bored, I'm turning 50,
Starting point is 00:33:52 I feel terrible about myself, I want to have sex with a 20-year-old. Would you start the conversation by saying, I'm bored? I'd probably do it nicer because we speak to them. She's very blunt though. But I am a blunt person.
Starting point is 00:34:01 What if we, you know, yeah. I think it all comes down to communication right i agree if you're in a situation like you guys say potentially could be in where you've been married for a long time you've only been with each other yeah and naturally everybody's eye is going to kind of wander at some point and you're going to see like a hot guy you'd be like fuck i wish i could make out with him at a bar get wasted and make out this guy at a bar it'd be so fun but like they're not your person they're're not your person, but like it sounds exciting
Starting point is 00:34:26 and it could like get your rocks off for like X amount of time. If you're both open and communicative towards it, I think more people would be open to do that than you would think. Yes. Especially if you're in a long-term relationship and it's just like this is my person
Starting point is 00:34:41 and I'm going along with them, but you know. It wasn't so poo-pooed. You just have to learn how to channel your feelings. In what way? I think part of growing older or being an adult is when we're younger, we feel feelings and then we just react to whatever that feeling is, depending on how our ego is. whatever that feeling is, depending on how our ego is. And then as we get older, we experience life. You can learn how to channel feelings differently.
Starting point is 00:35:13 You know, like you can turn in this situation, you could turn the feeling of your partner being desired by someone else. But depending on your communication level, let's say you guys, there's still a lot of trust there. You could turn that jealousy into- Attraction. Attraction. Yeah. You can manipulate your own feelings, I guess, as an adult in a way. I have an important question for you, Nick. There's an age difference between you and your
Starting point is 00:35:37 girlfriend, right? What is it, like seven years or something? I don't know that much about you. It's a little bit more. It is? Okay. Do you know how much it is? No. Anyway, here's something that I've been going through a lot with my friends that have married older men. So pretend you get married. So there's a thing that happens where the guy that you married that was like so hot at 35 when you were 25 or whatever, right, is then 55. And you're 45 or 43, which is like where I'm at right now.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Sure. Is your husband older than you? No, no, no. uh just by a couple years but like a lot of my friends married like a guy 10 or 15 17 years older than but now it's like you're old saggy balls no it's not that it's you're hitting your 40s and you're feeling so having this whole mental breakdown about getting older and you want to still be hot. So you're looking at the 30 something now. You're wondering if I still get the younger person. And so that is the thing about when you have someone younger is like eventually the older guy is so hot when you're young, but then he's old. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:36:42 I get what you're saying. Do you understand? So it's like it's not just the guys wanting to cheat is what I'm coming back to. It's like, there's that moment when all these girls are turning 40, 43 and their guy's like 55
Starting point is 00:36:51 and you're like, holy shit, I'm old and you're doing old person things and like, I want to still be young. So basically, being in a successful relationship in the modern world
Starting point is 00:37:00 is just figuring out how to stop your partner from like- Aging. Aging. Oh my God. And meeting their fantasies outside of the relationship. You either have to be a part of it- Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Or- Help them or be okay with them doing it themselves. Yeah. Well, and to your point, when you're talking about as you get older and being more in touch with your feelings and channeling them different ways, when you're younger and as you get older and you know being more in touch with your feelings and channeling them different ways when you're younger and say you have the desire to cheat or you do cheat it's probably very reactive or you're stuck in a situation you don't want to be in and you're like it's easier to just cheat than to break up i'll never understand that i won't i don't either
Starting point is 00:37:41 because cheating seems so hard i was stressful it would just like kill me on the inside. It's like just rip the bandaid off. But as you get older and you have these desires, it's a lot easier, hopefully, if you've done a lot of work on yourself to be like, why am I feeling this way? Why is my eye wandering? Why do I feel so jealous? And then hopefully be able to, especially if you're married or in a long-term relationship, be able to focus that into a productive way or fix a problem before you just cheat on somebody and blow up an entire marriage or family or whatever. And it naturally goes that way. When you have your person and you love them so much, when things start to go wrong and you've had bad years or bad months, it's like you love
Starting point is 00:38:20 them so much that you don't just want to be like, I'm not going to blow it all up. That's something a very young, a very new relationship does. Like when you love someone long term and they're your person, you're like, hey, I'd rather not turn this into like a fire, dumpster fire today. Like I'd rather work this out with you because you're my person. Yeah, it's all communication at the end of the day. But you got to be having a good orgasm too. You know what I mean? Well, I was going to say very quickly, if we could on the topic of cheating and talking to people about it. So there's a viral TikTok and there's definitely
Starting point is 00:38:49 been other stuff like this in the age of social media. But most recently, there was a viral TikTok of a girl saying, hi, if you are a girl who lives in this place and you're marrying your husband, this name, et cetera. Like he was relentlessly hitting me me at a bar, kind of recounts the story of this guy doing some really shady stuff towards her. And when she found out he was on a bachelor party about to get married, she wanted to warn his fiancé that he was a bad dude. And I think it
Starting point is 00:39:16 raises this interesting question. I've seen the opposite with men, too. I mean, there's so many of these, yeah. But like, if it's at a bachelor party? Wait, what was the question? Well, i think it raises the interesting question of like what do we owe others in terms of if we know that cheating is happening like whether it's to a stranger whether it's to some like our friend's partner like do we owe them especially maybe in a in a world where these non-traditional relationships
Starting point is 00:39:40 are becoming more prevalent yeah it's like part of me, I've seen these Tik Toks. Part of me is thinking, fuck yeah. Like call that person out. Like as someone who's never cheated, who like doesn't cheat. And I think it's a really shitty character flaw for people who so easily do it. Like part of me wants to like,
Starting point is 00:39:58 like, fuck this. But like, who's policing this? It's just like, it's one of these things where like, when we let us society, we're ridiculous. You know, when we start doing these things and I just feel like over time, it has more
Starting point is 00:40:12 bad than good. And it's just a lot of reactive projecting your own problems, you know, in the comments. And yeah, I don't know. I just, part of me likes it. Part of me hates it. What do you guys think? I'm sorry. I have like very mixed feelings on both of these things because obviously as an outsider you watch them and you're like you said it's like yeah fuck you like catch the cheater like save the girl but then you also have to and i catch myself i have so much empathy for this poor
Starting point is 00:40:38 fucking woman that's going to get married to this guy that is now so humiliated and so embarrassed That's going to get married to this guy that is now so humiliated and so embarrassed that her cheating guy has been blasted all over the internet. Like it's not just him that is getting brought down with it. It's also this poor woman that had no idea. And yes. Maybe she wants to know before she gets married. Of course. But that's where it's like there's it's it's both things because she she needs to know before she ends up marrying this guy. But also like what a public humiliating way to find out, you know?
Starting point is 00:41:09 But also like if the guy was like, it's my bachelor party. This is my last hurrah and I'm going to hit on this woman. And like I did not penetrate her with my dick. Sorry. That was so aggressive. Yeah, that was a gross way of saying that. I did not have like. I didn't have sex with her.
Starting point is 00:41:24 I didn't have sex with her. I didn't have sex with her. She's like, why do you have to feel like, I didn't insert my penis. I don't know why I did that. I'm so sorry. I'm, like, very embarrassed for myself. But anyway, like, so what? Like, maybe she doesn't care.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Well, that's the thing, too, is, like, maybe there's sometimes, it's like, yeah, he was hitting... Also, that's all subjective, right? Like, he... They could have been innocently flirting, and now this is getting blown out of proportion, and now this guy's a cheater when nothing actually happened,
Starting point is 00:41:49 or he could have been, like, the shittiest guy in the entire world, and now he's getting exposed. So, like, it runs the entire spectrum of what could have actually happened. I have a friend that had sex with a stripper at his bachelor party and still married, and they're very happy. Did she know? I think so. I mean, they might have an agreement, too. I do feel like in relationships it's kind of you know how you know you always
Starting point is 00:42:08 went to school with like the kids who had like super strict parents and they like rebelled yeah and did a bunch of shit yeah like i know obviously in in monogamous relationships there's just like hey you don't fuck other people you know kind of thing and i know like for some that might feel like a lot of pressure but i think there's still something to be said about like not being in a relationship where you are like hovering over your partner and like and just knowing that like hey when you met you you you were attracted to their flirty energy and like they might be if you if they have a girl's night or a guy's night like there's a difference between like being flirtatious and cheating oh my god you know and like innocent innocent flirting it's so fun not having being
Starting point is 00:42:49 the partner where you're like freaking out about a lot of shit like it kind of can go a long way and again it can build trust if you as long as you guys know you're on the same page and you still have the ability to be like yeah i don't know you're can you like bring it back a little bit like as opposed to like that's fucked up and like you know saying you're a yeah, I don't know. Can you like bring it back a little bit? Like, as opposed to like, that's fucked up. And like, you know, saying you're a bad person. I don't know. It's a fine line and everyone's different. But with social media, it's we take out this stranger component, though, and we say it's one of your close friends. You know, they are cheating on their partner. You understand the relationship. You know that what they're doing is outside the bounds of that. Do you have the right to tell their partner about it
Starting point is 00:43:25 if it is going on long term? Like, and you're bearing witness to this. I think so. Okay, so you're saying if your friend, like, say it's Kelsey cheating on her husband, do you think I, or should I tell Chris? Yeah. Who you're, I assume, on some level of friends with.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Yeah, not, yeah. I don't like keeping other people's lies. To the point where if I have some level of friends with. Yeah, not. Yeah. I don't like keeping other people's lies. To the point where. You have to lie. If I have to lie. Yeah. And it's affecting my character. I like that, Nick.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Fuck you. Like, I'm not. I am not going. My character is not going to, like, take a dent. Yeah. Because of yours. I had a friend. So, like, if I can.
Starting point is 00:43:59 If I can stay out of it. Fine. But, like. But once you have to be like, yeah, she was over at my house. Yeah, we were at of it. Fine. But like, but once you have to be like, yeah, we, we were at the movies. Yeah. I had a girlfriend of mine, Nick,
Starting point is 00:44:08 that I hired a private investigator on her husband. That's how messy I am. But this is a cheating thing. So she had been having a rough time with him for a long time. And all signs point to this man is cheating on you, but she would not accept it. And I'd be like, I don't know when your kid is like, is there someone in the hot tub?
Starting point is 00:44:28 Like, you know what I mean? Like, oh my God. So I went behind her back. I hired a private investigator. I didn't tell her. I saw them in the park. I got the photos. And then I decided what I was going to do with it.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Because I felt like it was. And then when I knew, then I could make a decision. And I let her be sad for another six months and be in this bad relationship. And then eventually when the time was right, I sat her down and I was like it was. And then when I knew, then I could make a decision. And I let her be sad for another six months and be in this bad relationship. And then eventually, when the time was right, I sat her down. And I was like, hey, I did something. You're going to be so mad at me. And she was very happy because she was like, I have felt this. I have known this in my soul.
Starting point is 00:44:55 But I just couldn't. Yeah. And then I texted him to his mom. To his mom? To his mom. I love that for you. That was really good. We got to talk about Olivia Wilde.
Starting point is 00:45:04 OK. And Shia LaBeouf. So for anybody who needs a brief catch up on the situation. So Olivia Wilde is directing a film coming out soon called Don't Worry Darling. Shia LaBeouf was originally cast as the lead alongside Florence Pugh. Who is now being played by Harry Styles, her lover. Yeah. And originally when the replacement happened, the public statement was that it was due to scheduling conflicts. You know, the classic Hollywood. It happens all the time.
Starting point is 00:45:28 Olivia Wilde then was doing a cover story with Variety where she basically says Shia LaBeouf was fired. She did a nice little piece. Oh, that was hers? Yeah, that was hers. Elizabeth is amazing. Olivia Wilde says Shia LaBeouf was fired. And then Shia LaBeouf has since come forward. And then she's saying that she said it was because of his behavior on set or something like that.
Starting point is 00:45:49 I think it was because of the allegations against FK Twigs, right? And then she, Florence wasn't, like, comfortable with. It's a very sexual film, allegedly. Yeah. The quote, the direct quote from Olivia Wilde is, his process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions. For our film, what we really needed was an energy that was incredibly supportive. With a movie like this, I knew that it was going to be asking
Starting point is 00:46:12 Florence to be in a very vulnerable situation. And my priority is making her feel safe and making her feel supported. Those are strong. It's a strong statement. That's a strong statement. It's not like being like, yeah, it just didn't work out. You know, like. It wasn't scheduling.
Starting point is 00:46:25 And she could have just said, he's fired and say, I don't really want to get into the lies. I mean, you could read between the lines if that really was the reason why he was getting fired. Well, he has enough of bad press and he's done some, well, I guess, self-admitted that he's acknowledged he's been a terrible human. Abusive, yeah. And his bad behavior has ranged from everything from an incredibly abusive relationship with FKA twigs to a very controversial approach to acting, both directed out like everyone from Alec Baldwin to female co-stars, where the word method acting is thrown around a lot for the way he gets into it. And so kind of creating the same contentious dynamics that he wants to exist in a film, kind of like blurring the lines between what's being shot
Starting point is 00:47:13 and the interpersonal relationships of actors. But then a video was leaked. A video gets leaked. Well, so Shia kind of makes a statement saying like, please do not be dishonest about this. We both know that it didn't work out. It wasn't that I was fired. Like I walked away.
Starting point is 00:47:29 He did it in a very polite way. Was this on social media that he did it? I believe so. Or did he like give it to Variety as well? I think he gave the video to Variety. Yeah, he emailed it to Variety and then it was later leaked. And it's a video of Olivia Wilde saying. She was in the car. She just got done with horses, as she claimed. Have you seen this video?
Starting point is 00:47:50 I've seen it. I haven't seen this. Another piece of context to add is that there's been a lot of speculation about what about potential drama between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh. Olivia Wilde has said nothing but positive things about Florence publicly, while Florence Pugh has remained kind of quiet and not really commented on Olivia Wilde. And then she came out, I think, over the week and before this video came out, that she was only going to show up to like one fist of a...
Starting point is 00:48:16 When she's only doing... She's not doing any press. She's not doing any press. I mean, good for her. That is not someone who looks like they fired someone. No, it looks like somebody who is desperately trying to have that person stay on their project. Yeah. The Miss Flo comment is really, that's what gets me.
Starting point is 00:48:33 Why? I was going to bring that up. Do people think it's condescending? It's so condescending. It's like, if Miss Flo can get on board, it's like, dude, this doesn't sound like you're trying to protect the safety of your actors on the set. Like, it goes completely against what her statement was. At the very least, she was
Starting point is 00:48:51 placating Tashia. Yeah. Which is a big part of a director's job in Hollywood. You know, you're working with colossal personalities who have very high expectations for what they're entitled to. So it is fair to say that, like, to a certain degree, every director will be trying to appease various parties very fair to say that this goes beyond that but just to add that yeah i think the problem is it's just her
Starting point is 00:49:14 statement the statement like if she didn't make that statement of why she fired him and then the video wouldn't be that i mean it's still not good but it wouldn't have just been like like respectfully it just just didn't work out yeah and i just think for everyone involved it was just better that it went the direction that it did she could have said that regardless of how shitty shia labeouf is or has been like he still didn't get fired and if you're're him, who's already having a hard enough time getting work, rightfully so, he probably doesn't want to be falsely accused of I guess anything,
Starting point is 00:49:51 let alone the fact that he got fired. And what's worse? The fact that, because if he was in fact a monster on set and was in fact demeaning or just rude to cast and his co-star and then claims that like, that's what,
Starting point is 00:50:06 that's what makes it the worst part is that he wasn't fired. It seems like. And like, it almost sounds like she should have fired him, but didn't. As opposed to, because you know, there's two scenarios.
Starting point is 00:50:17 One, he just was lovely and she fired him for scheduling. I don't know. Right. Does not seem like that happened. In light about that. Or two, he was in fact a bit of a terror for whatever reason. Maybe deserved.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Made Miss Flo uncomfortable. Made other people uncomfortable, including his co-star, Miss Flo. And she, instead of firing him, was trying to keep him on. And then lied about firing. Both are terrible. Not great. There's like, yeah, there's a lot of layers. And like the thing thing i don't know
Starting point is 00:50:46 anything about her i only started watching tiktoks about this this weekend because i thought it was fascinating like i love a good expose i think she's a very talented director i always felt like she's been unfairly ridiculed because she's dating harry styles and like right but that was another layer to it where after shyla buff leftouf left then Harry Styles came on the set and then coincidentally they started dating like two weeks after he came on the set and then there was all this talk that she was being unprofessional on the set and she was spending a lot of time with him and so they weren't dating when she hired Harry no even adds to the no they met quote met so that there's just like there's so much mess to it and i think she's like the boss power dynamics well but is she the boss because the director is not i mean yes it's
Starting point is 00:51:31 her movie and she's the director but just i'm gonna hollywood on this for a minute it depends on there's seven more steps above olivia and when i watched that video that i think my brain went to placating that she's made a decision in one boardroom with a certain amount of people with all of Florence's team and all the funding people that are funding this movie and getting it made and millions and billions of dollars or whatever that maybe millions for this if it's an indie then she's like trying to not ruin a relationship with someone that she's probably been friends with for a long time so she's like wanting to be like hey it wasn't me it wasn't like i'm not trying to break up with you
Starting point is 00:52:09 it's them you know that's what it seems like to me i feel really bad i think she's really lovely and very beautiful now do i think this is the best harry styles album kill me no and so you know when you're in love you make bad records so what harry yeah you don't think it's i mean it's fine so i'm not a harry styles fan yeah we're not like huge anyway get out yeah sorry i like niall get out i'm a niall girl i know it's controversial but he's my guy yes have you been to a harry styles concert no yeah because i wouldn't spend money no no i i felt listen i i felt the same way you did. I understand.
Starting point is 00:52:46 Like, listen, I understand it. Go to a concert. I also don't, I'm not a Taylor Swift fan. Like, I just, there. She doesn't like anything that's normal. She's wearing a Smash Mouth t-shirt, Nick. Nick, do you think that Olivia is being, sorry, one thing back to this.
Starting point is 00:52:59 Do you think Olivia is being unfairly judged because she's a woman director? Like if a man was playing both sides, would it be different? Or is it because she's a female and then? I think 100% she's being unfairly judged by a lot of people for a lot of different reasons, including Harry Styles fans. And I'm sure from a directing standpoint of being a woman in Hollywood, there's definitely, I think, challenges women are made to face that men aren't i still think she fucked up here yeah and i think yes and that's
Starting point is 00:53:30 a thing it's like she's probably paying for it more like you know like the harry styles fans are like all like there's a hashtag times up olivia like did she fuck up sure did she lie but like i mean i don't like but anyone that anyone that's successful in Hollywood is lying and being shady to a point. Except Jack. She like literally is like the salt of the earth. But if you're. But I'm not in Hollywood. How many people in this, who listen to the show or in this room have been like, well,
Starting point is 00:53:56 I don't know if we like, I mean, he didn't break up with me. I broke up with him or she didn't break up with me. You know what I'm saying? It wasn't my decision. It was Frank's. It was Rich. Well, we're like, you know. I think it's really the perfect storm of like bad it's
Starting point is 00:54:08 like she probably shouldn't have filmed a video of something that she was gonna lie about it's like rule number one in hollywood phone calls only yeah don't text it that was like a mistake and then i think that i don't know anything about olivia wilde again but apparently she's like a very much a self-described like feminist so for her to be gung-ho on protecting the women that are working for me and blah, blah, blah, blah, and then going and doing something where you're kind of enabling an abuser in a situation like that, that's where I feel like...
Starting point is 00:54:36 Which I don't know if we know that was happening for sure. Alleged. He certainly... Has a troubled back story. Yes. I don't know if we know for sure what's happening on set, so I don't want to make false back. Yes. I don't know. I don't know if we know for sure what's happening on set. So I don't want to.
Starting point is 00:54:48 No, I didn't mean that. Yeah. But like, I'm assuming that like Florence was like, yeah, he's admitted. Right. Yeah. Now, do you think it's going to help the movie or hurt the movie? Or do you care? We don't go to the movies anymore.
Starting point is 00:55:01 I think I haven't seen a movie in years. I think if the movie's bad, this will not be good for Olivia. Yeah. If it's good, then I think it could help. I think this will be old news. But if it's a bad movie with bad reviews, I think she'll get fucking flamed for it. You know what's interesting is that the two worlds that are coming together now is like the TikTok and the online culture and then also like the high powered Hollywood publicist thing. So it's like, she's got this big cover story.
Starting point is 00:55:29 It was a variety. You said Elizabeth did it. It's like this big cover story. And then, you know, you're like, your publicist is seeing that before it goes to print. And they're like, what's our plan here? The plan is like female director empowerment. And like they go and they do that so well. And then like the internet behind it can be so different
Starting point is 00:55:46 than like what the publicity plan is and that happens all the time like there's this new kind of celebrity where you can't just like hide behind these high-powered people that have the plan like there's all like a real life and yeah you can't print and the receipts and like yeah that's you no longer can just you can't be a brad pitt anymore never never you know like or a leo never and even brad pitt and leo can't be leo and brad pitt anymore but yeah this whole idea that like you give very little of yourself and you only show up and look your best self and then a couple big articles a year and a cover and it doesn't exist anymore it doesn't they people get all of you they get 24 7 365 days of you yeah and it's like oh anymore. People get all of you. They get 24-7, 365 days of you.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Yeah, that's so true. And it's like, oh my God. And then you're never allowed to change. I feel like when I read your New York Times article, Nick, congratulations on that. It was a wonderful article. But I felt like when I read it, it was like that feeling of like,
Starting point is 00:56:37 well, you're Nick from The Bachelor. You're never allowed to change. You're going to be held to what you did forever. There was definitely questions that were asked. I'm like, we're still asking about this. Okay, cool. yeah yeah for sure yeah it is what it is yeah but it's like it's just a new world we're like tiktok and the we have a lady gang facebook group lady gang detectives that literally just goes and does this kind of shit all the time like they get on a story and then they're like like but it's like people love it people love it so you can't we're not
Starting point is 00:57:02 free to just be like here's what i'm going to present to the world now. No. That's why we put everything in the book because it's going to come out anyway. Squirt, squirt. Do you think people are being more invasive towards celebrities' personal lives? Or do you think celebrities are also like now expected to be on all these other platforms
Starting point is 00:57:16 so there's just inherently more material for people to comb through? I don't think you can be culturally relevant in 2022 to the demographic in which matters to print online video publicity without being on all of the social platforms. Like Nick said, there's no Julia Roberts anymore, and the kids don't even care about Julia Roberts. We're seeing it with our book. We're going around, and they're like, well, if you had 15 million TikTok followers, we might. And I was like, I have three Emmys. What else do you want? You know what I mean? No, people care about Addison Rae's mom going to the VMAs with that young girl. Oh my God, yeah. More than anything else.
Starting point is 00:57:55 That's on our agenda for today. I mean, listen, I watched 15 TikToks about it because I'm like, this is fascinating. I love it. I met him. We were talking about having him on the podcast. We'll see. I was DMing him I like him I think he'd be a good guy Halsey being like my record label won't let me put something out unless I have a viral moment on TikTok like this is the way people live now was that real was that the viral moment we have no
Starting point is 00:58:15 idea but like you just can't just be a famous person poor Edison Ray her fucking dad I have the best tea I have the best tea on this do you can you say it sure I'll say it I have a best tea. I have the best tea on this. Do you? Can you say it? Say it. Sure, I'll say it. I have a friend in Hollywood that took like a management meeting. No one close to me in my management circle.
Starting point is 00:58:34 I'm married to a manager. Took a management meeting and like the deal was like you could get Addison, but you also had to manage the mom. Like allegedly the mom is like really into being famous. Seems like the dad is too i mean you can tell yes they both are you can tell from the tiktoks that wasn't good tea not really okay i thought it was being so exclusive no it's more specific but i think it attracts yeah surprising no one but but like why is it so bad that she went with him she's hot she wore bad no it's not
Starting point is 00:59:01 it's just that the parents like are capitalizing off her daughter's fame and because i don't know her name he's out there being like a 50 year old fuck boy and then like making his wife his ex-wife look bad and now like good for her yeah she's going with you know young to the the vmas but like this is all going out like this is all happening before our lives right and it's just like Addison's only on her first single. Well, she's like, what, 19 years old? And her family is literally, her whole family unit is breaking before her eyes.
Starting point is 00:59:32 But Hollywood is so hard. But her parents seem like they give a fuck about Addison. No, they don't care. They just care about like, themselves. Oh, this moment. Her parents are acting like they're both having a moment and like
Starting point is 00:59:45 love it but it's not was she at the vmas or is it just her mom her mom i guess just her mom i don't know it's so weird it's it's a little fucked up if you were gonna have a cougar moment is that who would you have your sight set on like who would you machine gun kelly for sure i don't know if that's that cougary kelty i think he's around elder i think he's around your age oh hot whenever i'm in the car, this is like. Yeah, which TikTok star do you want to have sex with
Starting point is 01:00:07 is basically the question. Cougar moment. Oh, the one that, no, we can't talk about it. It's too young. It's illegal. Jesus. Is it illegal?
Starting point is 01:00:17 No, it's not. It's not illegal. We like one TikToker and we like him, but he's kind of faded. Faded? Like he hasn't stayed at popular. I'm trying to think of a...
Starting point is 01:00:28 Might be available. Yeah. Who would yours be? I feel like I'm in my 20s so I feel like a cougar moment might be deeply illegal. Yeah. Okay. A child. Alright, well, I think it's time for texting office hours. How's it going?
Starting point is 01:00:44 Hi. Good. How are you? Good. What's your name? My name is Emily and I'm 25 years old. Hi, Emily. How can we help? So two weeks ago, I was at my friend's wedding and I met one of the groomsmen and we just really hit it off and had a pretty natural connection and ended up spending the night together. And we hooked up. He currently lives in Philadelphia and I'm in Texas. So there's quite a bit of distance there. But I have a friend in the city that he lives in who I was already planning on going to see in the next couple of months. So I was looking for advice on how to draft a text saying like, I'm going to be in your city and wanting to see him without applying too much pressure on it. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:21 Have you been talking? So after the wedding, we talked for a couple of days afterwards, but communication right now has kind of been not very existent. I actually talked to my friend whose wedding I was at and he said he's not the best communicator. So I'm not sure if texting with him like constantly is going to be as in the cards as I thought it might be because when things left left we kind of left it on very open terms of saying like let's keep in touch and we even called once and it went well so I was looking forward to keeping in touch but I don't know how much he really wants to what is your goal of
Starting point is 01:01:57 potentially going to philly he's in philly yes like what do do you want? Do you want to hook up again or do you want to see where this goes? An ideal world? You being honest about that answer is a really big first step. Yes, of course. I ideally would want something more than just to hook up with him
Starting point is 01:02:20 which with the distance isn't as realistic. It's not ideal but i wouldn't say it's it's been done yeah for sure so i know probably and since it's only been really one night we've really spent together i can't get my hopes up too much right now because i don't even know him all that well at this point but i do know from the times we spent together we just had a really strong connection and i was really excited about him and I want to see where it could go in the future. So I wanted to be just more than a hookup. So I think the way to do that is you're going to have to really be hard on yourself. Because I'm
Starting point is 01:02:54 willing to bet that if you let him know that you were in this city and you were DTF, that he would probably be available. The other part, who knows, right? Like you hooked up at a wedding. You don't know much about each other. You had a fun night. He texts a little bit. He's faded away. That's a whole different story, so to speak.
Starting point is 01:03:17 And so you're going to run into the challenge is how honest are you going to be with yourself? Because every step of the way, I can picture a scenario of like you reaching out some, you know, trying to play it cool, because that's the thing. I guess my general advice is I don't think you should play it all that cool. Because playing it cool is going to get you in some trouble with yourself and get you in a situation you might not want to be in, right? Because this whole time, I feel like it's a classic case of play it cool. Don't scare them.
Starting point is 01:03:48 Don't put too much pressure on them. And that is going to turn into you acting like you just want to fuck. Yeah, and that's not my goal. And you don't want to. Yeah. So I hear it a lot, but I think you and anyone listening,
Starting point is 01:04:02 who gives, like, stop worrying if they're scared. Stop trying to worry about not scaring them away. I don't truly understand that logic. First of all, you're not scaring them away. You are just finding out that they're not interested in what you want. And that's okay. But at least you're getting an answer. This whole version
Starting point is 01:04:25 of like well i don't want to tell him something about how i feel because it's going to scare you will never scare away the right person yeah exactly so get that out of your head about worrying about like what you should or shouldn't say or what you should or shouldn't do because he won't do the thing that you want him to do and then call that like and make that your fault. It's not your fault. You just might not be into what you want, you know, because I think people do it because people would rather convince themselves that they fucked up rather than just accept. Maybe they just don't want what I want. Well, I'm a big believer in the going to the city. You never know what's going to happen. I'm going to give you a little taste of this. I did this in my 20s with someone that I met. We met in New York City and
Starting point is 01:05:09 then they were in Europe for work and I bought a plane ticket and I had a friend that lived in Vegas. I was like, oh my God, this is so crazy. I'm going to see my friend in two weeks. I wasn't. I went to see the guy and we ended up dating for like three and a half years and then he was a douchebag. I mean the story did not end well but like I also feel like if you have a friend in Philly go to Philly be like hey I'm dying to see you again I'm gonna be in Philly in two weeks let's have dinner and if you hook up again like you have to get right with your expectations like Nick said but I'm all for like take the wheels of your own life and just like,
Starting point is 01:05:45 go make your destiny happen and blame it on your friend in Philadelphia who loves so much. You're barely going to see because you're going to be hooking up with this guy the whole time. It sounds so fun. So there's this whole concept that I didn't make up, but it's like the vacation boyfriend. It's like every time that I would go on vacation or I'd go to a wedding, like I'd find the love of my life. And then I feel like we romanticize that because how great of a story would it be if we met at a wedding and we hooked up and then we were long distance dating and then we fell in love. Like I did this all of the time. And then I think you kind of get this idea in your head that is a lot bigger than what it is, because in reality, you don't really know this guy. He barely knows you. And obviously your
Starting point is 01:06:22 communication styles are different if he's like not a big texter. So what I would recommend, and I tell my younger self this, that I've done this in so many different situations, is make that trip to Philly, go see your friend, and then tell him maybe when it's like closer to when you're actually going, like, I'm planning this trip. I would love to see you and see what happens. And then go be a yes man. And like, whatever whatever happens happens. Don't put too much pressure on the situation. Don't put too much pressure if you're going to hook up with him or you're not. And then just see what happens. But like try to have low expectations. It's really hard to do. But like I feel like we might have given her given her contradictory advice. That's what I would do. Your advice I would give myself. Nick's advice is like you need to figure out what you want
Starting point is 01:07:05 and then be up up front with it and Jack and I are like YOLO but she doesn't know what she wants she knows what she wants
Starting point is 01:07:11 what do you mean she doesn't know what she wants she knows what she thinks she wants but she doesn't know him well enough to know what she wants
Starting point is 01:07:17 yeah she might get there and be like wait on second thought I don't like you no so like cause like were you drinking at the wedding
Starting point is 01:07:23 she's dreaming and a man looks why are you yelling we were friends over too a man looks so good No. Because were you drinking at the wedding? She's dreaming. Why are you yelling? A man looks so good in a suit. I've never been more attracted to my husband than when we're guests at a wedding. You need to see him. Is he wearing a cargo shirt and a flip-flop? What is his?
Starting point is 01:07:39 Is he nice to the waiter? It's not so much him, but it's the random not wanting to feel or just randomly hook up over and over. She doesn't want to hook up, but you don't know him well enough to know if it's even worth you trying to not scare him off yet. Or even if he's cool, you know? You don't know. And if you're not.
Starting point is 01:07:57 I really like from what I've talked to him about, like about himself and we align a lot on similar values and just like our lifestyle seems like we would get along in a normal sense, like outside of the wedding. So I could see that potential there with him. I guess what I'm saying is I've like, your advice is like, it makes a ton of sense in a lot of situations. I've seen too many times people like Emily who like I met for whatever reason, whether they know them a lot or not.
Starting point is 01:08:26 But they've like I like what I see. And I I know I I don't want to just fuck around. Right. But then they say, well, I want to be, you know, the cool chick YOLO. And yeah, and it's just like I'm going to live. I'm just going to live it up and see what happens. I'm going to be a yes person. And then they get these situations.
Starting point is 01:08:43 And what happens is they start like negotiating with themselves about like what they actually want. And then they hook up with the person and it doesn't go the way they want and they feel used or let on. But what they really did is kind of lie to themselves about what they didn't want or want. And then they like spend like weeks being bummed and talk to their friends and then they feel rejected again, and it just becomes this perpetual thing. So are you planning on seeing this friend regardless if you never talk to him again?
Starting point is 01:09:11 Okay, so plan the trip. Right? Don't tell him right away. Definitely do not be like, hey, I'm planning a trip two weeks. So I think, yeah, you book the trip, and then a few days before you're coming out, and this is some risk, because who knows what his plans are going to be.
Starting point is 01:09:27 Book a refundable ticket. No, she's going to see her friend. She says she's going regardless. I'm going to see my friend regardless. I also have family in the area. So I have other plans regardless if I see him. But you tell him a few days before. Be like, hey, I'm going to be in your area this weekend.
Starting point is 01:09:42 I'm pretty busy catching up with friends and family. What if he's at another wedding like you might know that weekend that's the risk you could tell him say you're booking when are you planning to go in like a month two months in a month i think about like a month and a half i feel like you could book your trip and then you could be like i'm coming in a month and a half without playing it cool be like you know i really liked spending time with you i'd like to spend more time with you if you're going to be free that weekend. So then that's you being honest with yourself. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 01:10:09 Well, I actually think it's one, I think you do one of two things. I think you just put it out there via text right now that you really enjoy the time you got to know him and you hook up or whatever and you just see what he says. And at most likely you'll get some kind of like, well, you know, I'm not really looking to work over right now and you live far and a half across the country, but at least you put it out there and you stay do what you want. And then you can see if he responds or you don't do that quite yet because you only hooked up once and you probably already know the response.
Starting point is 01:10:35 And since you know, you're going to visit them, I would book the trip and maybe not wait till the end. Yes. Give them a slight heads up. Just be like, Hey, you know, I'm visiting my friends and family. I'd love to see you. Keep it real short and brief. Not like, I'm going to be busy, but hopefully maybe we can run into each other.
Starting point is 01:10:51 And see if he makes that up. Warms back up. Initiates. Or just knows that you're coming into town and just makes that a priority to see you. Yeah. Right? And then when you hang out with him, you can see if you have another good weekend, decide whether you want to have sex or not, suss it out. And if you have a good weekend,
Starting point is 01:11:07 then at that point, you should at least put yourself out there and say, hey, I've really enjoyed the wedding. I enjoyed this weekend. Let's see where it goes. But at least you'll have your, you know, I would do that. And then always keeping in mind that it does take a long time to get to know somebody. So even if you're like, I really see a potential with him, you haven't spent that much time with him. So I think you should take that time when you get to know somebody. So even if you're like, I really see a potential with him, you haven't spent that much time with him. So I think you should take that time when you're in Philly, I think that was the city you're going to,
Starting point is 01:11:30 to like really be like, do I like these things about him? Like, is he somebody that I actually like instead of kind of giving him the power in that situation? Like you're both on even playing fields, spending time with each other if you are to see if you actually like each other.
Starting point is 01:11:44 Because you might not like him. Don't romanticize the next month about him. And maybe leave it open-ended. Don't have the expectation, but maybe, maybe if you say you're coming out, maybe he will initiate conversations, but you don't. You don't try to like, don't try to force this ongoing text conversation of talking somewhat on a regular basis in hopes that you guys get to know each other in preparation for this weekend if he wants to great book the trip in the next week and then right after you book the trip in the next week give him the i'm gonna be in your area on this weekend to visit my friend whoever the fuck and family uh i'll be pretty busy but like if you're around it would be fun to like maybe see you yeah and just keep it
Starting point is 01:12:25 real like casual and real non-committal and you're not all that excited and see if he takes the bait okay sounds good so in the next couple weeks i'll text him yeah but also this is the only time you're ever texting him i've been married uh almost 10 years or nine years i've never texted my husband first ever in our relationship. She's hardcore. Don't ever text first. Don't listen to her advice. It's a little hardcore. He texted me, I love you this morning. I haven't even responded.
Starting point is 01:12:53 I don't mind texting first. I mean, I could double text him. I wouldn't really mind. Don't double text. If I'm interested, I want to see where it can go. Don't. Wait a week or so. Book the trip and do that. And then see where it goes.
Starting point is 01:13:10 And be confident because you're a cat. You're beautiful. You have a great smile, great eyebrows, beautiful curls. Go in there. Just you're,
Starting point is 01:13:17 if not this, something better, baby. And you won't have to double text your right guy. Yes. Because your right guy will be so excited to talk to you all of right guy. Because your right guy will be so excited to talk to you all of the time.
Starting point is 01:13:28 Alright, well keep us posted. I know. Good luck. And have fun. Thank you so much. Yeah, I'm so excited to see where this can go, but also I won't get my hopes up too high. Yeah, just play it cool. Show that you're interested. And if you have a good time and like Jack said, if you spend a whole
Starting point is 01:13:43 weekend and spend the weekend not only having having fun but like getting to know him and and being willing to like find out that you don't like him as much as you thought you did yes yeah but if you still do then you can be like hey i don't know we've had two like cool weekends i'm not saying i want to marry you or even date you but i would like to see if like i'd like to spend time with you honestly it's easy to fly. Yeah. I love that. All right. Sounds good. And I work remotely so I can work from wherever also.
Starting point is 01:14:09 So as long as since we're in the picture, don't look, you're thinking, you're thinking too far ahead, but like, okay. She's like, anyways,
Starting point is 01:14:16 when I changed my last name, don't say that. Be like, just so you know, like I can move anywhere. I won't say that yet, but it is in my head. If it comes up you know
Starting point is 01:14:26 but yeah first you it's not your job to convince him to like you he should already know yeah yeah actually i feel like i take that advice now much more hard than i used to um like from your listening to your podcast honestly i never like realized it until listening to you like i don't need to fight for someone if they don't want to fight for me like i just let it be totally yeah yeah yeah he doesn't know you well enough to even reject you yeah that's true you just you know you're a girl from a wedding all right let us know thank you so much all right take care all right thanks for calling all right bye-bye bye how's it going? Good. Hi. Hi. What's your name?
Starting point is 01:15:06 My name's Kaylee. I am 26 as of tomorrow. Oh, happy birthday, Kaylee. Happy birthday. Thank you. I need help shooting my shot. So I work for a small company and I do their bank deposits every single day. And the bank tellers are like my coworkers, I would say.
Starting point is 01:15:24 And I've gotten to know them really well and there's another so you're showing up on the regular to deposit stuff for work yes and there's a hottie bank teller yes he's my age we have a lot in common he always asks about my life i know a lot about his life just from going there consistently for the last year and a half so for a year and a half, you've been building his crush? This is a rom-com. I love all this sexual tension that's going on. Yes.
Starting point is 01:15:49 And do we know for sure he's single? So here's the deal. Like six months ago, he told me about his long-distance girlfriend he had. And I haven't heard about her in a long time. Do you know his last name? Have you stalked him on social media? I have stalked him. He's super private.
Starting point is 01:16:07 So it's like I need to either request him or just shoot my shot in person. So you're handing him physical checks, correct? Is there a beautiful card you could send? No, this is what I'm saying. Maybe you write him, you give him all the checks, and then you write one of those old school, do you want to go out with me?
Starting point is 01:16:25 A check yes or no. Oh, that's so cute. And then write your phone number on it. And then he can text you. The only problem is. You can never go to that bank again if he says no. You can never go to that bank again. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:34 I have done this before. She has to. At a bar with a bartender that ignored my message. I think this is really easy. And then I can never go there again. I actually think this is really easy. Next time you go. You just said you talked to him a lot about a lot of different things and at one point six months ago
Starting point is 01:16:48 he brought up this long distance girlfriend of which you haven't heard about recently yes so bring it up in conversation how's that girlfriend of yours it's literally all you have to say oh that's cute okay okay so then if he's single how do i shoot my shot because your immediate follow-up is well you know we broke up you'd be like great now we can let's get together let's let's go out do you guys have like do you have like flirty vibes like is there a flirtation between you oh yes okay then yeah then it's not coming out of nowhere and she could just like we had a girl who who asked out her chiropractor successfully in a sense that he said yes only to find out that he had a girlfriend oh my gosh still gets the adjustments no still gets the adjustment yeah he did that he did it
Starting point is 01:17:32 you know wow some people don't i mean listen if this some people don't care if this happened to you and you shot your shot and got like i would not care i would go back i don't give a fuck listen the only the nightmare scenario and it's not a nightmare. Yeah, there's no bad scenario here. But the worst possible scenario is he doesn't have a girlfriend. You ask him out. He turns you down. If he has a girlfriend, there's nothing to do.
Starting point is 01:17:56 He has a girlfriend. Then you don't even have to ask him out. Should we practice? Nick will be the guy. Oh, my God. Hey, how are you doing? How's your girlfriend doing? You want to go that strong of a hoop right off the bat?
Starting point is 01:18:08 Actually, I love that. When are you going to visit your girlfriend? Hey, I was just wondering, how's that girlfriend of yours? I love that. I think that's hilarious. Long distance got too long. Well, we should hang out sometime. Okay, that works.
Starting point is 01:18:18 I would love- Cute, simple. We need it. I like the note idea. I'm not going to lie. I like the note too, but I'm a girl. Yeah. I'm saying as a guy, I just ask. Really? I don't need the note idea. I'm not going to lie. I like the note too, but I'm a girl. Yeah. I'm saying as a guy, I just ask.
Starting point is 01:18:27 Really? I don't need the note. They don't have each other's phone number because there's the awkward like, okay, cool. Let me give you my phone. Have your phone number ready on a piece of paper. It's just ready to... Do you have a business card? You could like...
Starting point is 01:18:37 No, that's too formal. I mean, he has all my information. Like it's in the computer. He could look me up. I think that's probably against the rules though. Yeah. If he's at a bank, there's probably like something about him here or you could do this or you could do this you could you could play it a little softer oh it's going to take two visits and you can give him a chance to ask you out how's you know how's that girlfriend of yours we broke up your immediate response after we broke up is, thank God. But you don't say anything else.
Starting point is 01:19:06 Whoa. You just see what he says. Or what about like, oh, really? Like a little- No, no, no. No, thank God. Old, old. Just say, thank God.
Starting point is 01:19:16 She was terrible for you. You obviously know nothing about her. Yeah. What if she goes, oh, what if she goes, thank God? If she's like, oh, you broke up? Thank God. I can't wait for you to ask me out. And then just walks away.
Starting point is 01:19:29 You could do that. That's a lot of good. That is good. I will never hear the end of it from his other coworkers. It doesn't matter. That's great. And then wear a nice pair of pants and make your butt look really good so he can watch you bouncing away.
Starting point is 01:19:40 You could do that. That's strong. But you could do that. I'm saying the thing, God, and you just make great eye contact. I can't wait for us to go out. You just make great eye contact. You say that with your eyes, but you just say, thank God. See if he has.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Because then, unless he's a dum-dum, you're really making it obvious. How ballsy are you? Are these things actually you? She seems too cute to do thank God. She kind of whispered to me. She's going to have to say something. I know. That's how much I know.
Starting point is 01:20:04 She's going to say, oh, good. I can't wait for us to go out that sounds like you yeah like i i can be bold but like can you just say thank god in the bar you're joking like that but like i see him every single day so that's what i'm saying i think it's a warm-up you just say thank god that's all you say do you know anybody else that know like is there a situation where you could like bump into him out and about not at his workplace? I know people from like my childhood that are best friends with him, but like I'm not close to them anymore. So I'd really-
Starting point is 01:20:31 Not be too weird. That's too weird. I think she's capable of this. Nick, how does this work? Do they call in and give you an update? Because now I have to know what's going to happen. Yeah. We have an update episode coming out September 8th.
Starting point is 01:20:41 Fuck, this is such a good episode. Okay. It might be anticlimactic. You might just have a girlfriend and I'll have to let it go. Yeahember 8th okay it might be anticlimactic you might just have a girlfriend and i'll have to let it go then he then he has it but then you don't even have to face rejection you're like oh too bad i'm great in bed yeah either i mean yeah i mean honestly depending on how bold you want to be if he's like yeah you can be like oh what a shame too bad with a wink yeah because like who cares he has a girlfriend like you can you already said he's flirty yeah he's gonna like the compliment anyway exactly like nothing
Starting point is 01:21:10 like nothing bad can happen by like you know it's a little shitty for his girlfriend i guess but like we don't know her who cares but it's like work wives right like i feel like everyone has like a work husband or a work wife not everyone but like if you work in corporate it's like your bestie lover that like if your significant other does pass away you probably end up together you know and that's okay this is your work husband i mean again again there's a couple options of how bold you want to play it i think you know guys like to be it's like it's a fine line between like emasculating a man and emasculating a man you know what i'm saying and so yeah you say how's the girlfriend going uh we broke up thank god you say nothing after that if he just kind of awkwardly like fumbles with his receipts you go this is where you ask me out or like so when are you gonna ask
Starting point is 01:22:00 me out then or something no no you say this is when this is where you ask so you're telling him what to do yeah yeah he'll feel like he missed the opportunity to ask you out and it's like a really soft emasculation yeah but like not yeah light that he'll be like super turned on by but like yeah he'll rise to that you're like oh yeah like he'll he'll like that and then if he doesn't give you an answer right away like if he's like i gotta be like better luck tomorrow and then just walk out yeah and honestly ask them right as as you're fine you know like you obviously know the routine whatever routine you guys have as the routine's wrapping up you're about to wrap up you're like oh how's that girlfriend of yours going we broke up thank god so you have two options don't do it too early because then you're gonna be depositing chest
Starting point is 01:22:43 and it's awkward so you do it towards the end you say thank god you can either two options. Don't do it too early because then you're going to be depositing chest and it's awkward. So you do it towards the end. You say thank God you can either do two options thank God and just leave. Or thank God like 30 seconds
Starting point is 01:22:52 before you're about to leave and he says nothing and then you go this is where you're supposed to like ask me out.
Starting point is 01:22:59 But you do need to be prepared that he might have a girlfriend. No. He might freeze and not know what the fuck to do.
Starting point is 01:23:05 And that's when you go. Then when that's when you turn around and you go try again tomorrow. Yeah. And then if you really freeze to be like, all right, we'll try this next time. See you tomorrow. Yeah. Oh, my God. Have some swag.
Starting point is 01:23:16 This is really cute. Yeah. And you're really you're hot. So this is going to go so good. Yeah. Unless he has a girlfriend. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 01:23:22 Once again, imagine you're a fuck boy and come in with that energy. Yeah. I love this. All right. Do it tomorrow. Let us know how it goes and let us know
Starting point is 01:23:33 which direction you played it. And film it if you can. Don't film it. Put it on TikTok. Yes. I need to know. I do think if he says he still has a girlfriend,
Starting point is 01:23:44 it wouldn't hurt to be like, that's a shame. Yeah. You need your answer for if he does. And I like that. That's good. You're way too good for her. Well,
Starting point is 01:23:53 she's cheating on you. So then you break them up and then you go back in. No, don't, don't say that, but you can fuck with them a little bit. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 01:24:01 Let us know. Good luck. Will do. All right. Take care. I love her. Jack Kelty.
