Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, we've got a secret. This podcast is supported by Apples Never Fall, a chilling new mystery series from the author of Big Little Lies, starring Annette Bening, Sam Neill, Jake Lacey, and Alison Brie. It's sure to get people talking. What dark secrets lurk in this family? Tune in on March 21st to find out. Apples Never Fall, exclusively on W Network and Stack TV.
Starting point is 00:00:26 I've been so excited to have you here just because the first time I had you on, it was like, I did my homework and I knew you a little bit. It was like, okay, we'll talk about it. But now... Now the show has won our heart. Now I'm all in.
Starting point is 00:00:39 It's just my favorite show on television. And then I also know you all a little bit and I'm personally invested. And then I also like know you all a little bit and I'm like personally invested. And then like hearing you talk to me about Tom last time and then like watching it, it's like, oh. You have all the contacts now. I have all the contacts. And I'm like, this makes so much sense.
Starting point is 00:00:57 And I was just like so enraged when you were talking to Tom at the bar, that one scene. Oh yeah. Was that last episode? That was a few episodes ago. Yeah. Oh, which, okay. Oh, yeah. Was that last episode? That was a few episodes ago. Yeah. Oh, which, okay. Oh, when he was,
Starting point is 00:01:07 he kept, like, saying hi to everyone, and you're just like, what the fuck? He literally shook someone's hand, like, breaking their face. You dragged me over to have this conversation.
Starting point is 00:01:14 And that was, like, one of his, like, buddies, like, one of our friends. I'm like, this is, this was not some investor you needed to, like, charm. Like, you were saying hi to your friend.
Starting point is 00:01:21 It was, like, our friend. Like, it was, like, dude. Oh, my God. Yeah, so. I feel like maybe, like, the comparison with L Lala comes from like, I feel like both of you are very like principled. Like once you like kind of like stake a claim and like willing to like say how you feel, even though you go about it in different ways.
Starting point is 00:01:35 But like, I think you guys are both kind of like equally like. You enforce your boundaries. Yeah. Yeah. Totally. You're just like, yeah. That's a good way to put it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:45 You have your own styles. Yes. Stylistically different. And those boundaries might be different. But the enforcement. But the enforcement. Consistent and strong. Strong in my convictions and assertions.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Yeah. I honestly love the, was it last episode? And someone was like, where's Katie? And I don't know who said it. Katie's at home. And then it just pans to you like calmly making tea and then it goes back to them just being like crazy and i was like katie won okay well i think it was during sheena's or like party at lisa's like the tea that i was obviously gardening or something well at first i was at christina's
Starting point is 00:02:21 gardening and then i obviously didn't go to Schwartz and Sandy's but I stayed home for that one all right just a couple quick housekeeping notes before we get to Katie and it's such a good episode uh Phoebe Robinson is with us this Thursday to break down all things love is blind episodes one through eight it's juicy it's amazing. It's so good. And Phoebe is the perfect person to break it all down with us. If you're super anxious to get into Love is Blind and want to get into the weeds, we talk about episodes one through five behind Vile Files Plus. That dropped last Friday. In addition to some pop culture conversations like the Gwyneth Paltrow trial and things like that, don't miss that. Also, if you haven't been able to check out Better Date Than Never because it's live on Thursday,

Just go to vilefiles.com to check that out, and you can try it for free for seven days. It's super amazing. Literally, everyone loves it. They think it's amazing. It's rated fresh 1,000 and amazing and wonderful. So check that out. Also, we have an update behind Vile Files Classic. It's available to everyone. So we dropped one of those updates that dropped on Friday. If you haven't listened to it, be sure you did.
Starting point is 00:03:35 We have even more updates available behind Vile Files Plus for all the people who just can't get enough of those. Anything I'm missing before we get to Katie? Let's get to katie what's going on everybody welcome back to another episode of the Vow Files, I guess, going deeper edition because we have Katie with us and we'll be going deeper for sure. What's going on, everybody? The household's with us. Katie, how are you?
Starting point is 00:04:13 Excited to have you. I've been so excited to have you. I'm good. I'm happy to be here. I'm happy to be here because now I feel like you know. I know. You know some things. I know.
Starting point is 00:04:22 It's a, yeah. Banner pump rules. So yeah, I know you a little bit better. I know it's uh yeah banner pump rules so yeah i know you a little bit better i did the show a little bit better i'm fully invested it's it's been wild how are you otherwise like this has been i think for everyone just i think intense and you have the show going on have you been in an experience like this where the show was simultaneously airing while new stories were constantly unfolding every day? And has that been pretty emotionally taxing on you? No, and not like this and not to this level and degree, obviously. I mean, it's national news.
Starting point is 00:05:03 And this season was already an intense one for me on that emotionally taxing kind of level. Normally, it's not difficult for me to watch it back because I'm like, okay, I lived it, and now I've put it to bed, and obviously people are going to watch it and have their own reactions to it. But it's okay because I don't know them.
Starting point is 00:05:26 But this one, because of the tender subject matter, it's already been a difficult rewatch, but then adds this other like layer of just mayhem. Yeah, yeah, it's wild. I just kind of wanted to gossip with you today. Just like, you know know I don't know because I've been like yelling with them
Starting point is 00:05:50 you know or Natalie about like can you believe this I'll read a story and I'm always sending it to people so now I feel like I'm in the cool group now with everything is that what it is I don't know I guess maybe I realized how like during like a bachelor season
Starting point is 00:06:07 where i felt like i was you know whatever you know i was kind of involved on it but now i'm like just truly become a fan it's kind of wild you were sleeping for too long on it i was yeah i apologize a lot of people were it's a yeah it's one of the best reality TV shows I've seen. The reason why I like it so much is because despite, you know, your personal pain or Ariana's personal pain, like they're real issues, you know? And it's like real people discussing real events and you have some people willing to like
Starting point is 00:06:40 learn from mistakes and hold themselves accountable. Other people, it doesn't seem to ever want to click and i just it just seems the most real and as opposed to like with you know bachelor and some of these other shows it's like these kind of very cookie cutter storylines that kind of come and go where yeah this is just more you know true life well I think it is really like the human condition in reality TV form. The different personality types and disorders, if you will, just right on TV. But yeah, I think people often,
Starting point is 00:07:17 because there are also real relationships that have been established for many, many years and people have grown up with us from whether it's college or high school years. established for many many years and um have people have like grown up with us from you know whether it's college or high school years so they've seen themselves in their own you know friendship dynamics and relationship dynamics and yeah and it's just yeah i think like the amount of messages i get with you know from people that have like just by sharing uh my own stories as not pretty or shiny as they are, sometimes it's like, well, maybe this could help someone. No, truly.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Yeah, so yeah. You know, when we get into our 30s, I don't know, at least for some of us, you know, if we've experienced disappointment or heartbreak or whatever it is, things didn't play out the way we thought they might in our 20s and i think there's usually this kind of for people who are willing to kind of recalibrate or recenter themselves or however you want to talk about it like we'll we'll take tragedy in their lives or disappointment and figure out ways to benefit from it or to take something that sucked and like figure out how to you know learn and grow from it and i think we realize in our 30s that like this was this was always going to happen you know life has ups and downs life is hard and like there's a lot of shit along the way and i think when we're younger we have all we just we just assume nothing bad is going to happen to us and then when it does how
Starting point is 00:08:41 we handle it and how we work through it i think really plays a huge role on the rest of our lives. And I think that's what people relate to so much because I think they see, you know, you or Lala or Ariana make some mistakes, you know, fuck up, you know, have their own apologies at times to issue, but, you know, be better for it. Right, I mean, well, the idea is that you, something happens, you mess up or there's heartbreak and you are supposed to take a lesson and grow from it and build character from it. Some people don't, some people keep making the same mistakes over and over and over and over. Yeah, so like the tops.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Has your relationship with your ex-husband, I guess, can I just call him Schwartz? Schwartz, yeah, yeah, yeah. has it changed with this scandal in a sense because obviously last time we had you on it was and it seemed like you guys are you know your ex your exes so there there seems to be at least you know obviously some respect and and you know admiration but like, but ever since then, has it changed? Because it seems like Ariana's one of your best friends, and this has really shined a light on the Toms specifically and how people see them,
Starting point is 00:09:58 especially just from an outsider like your ex. He just, to me, like I said, he's like the fun guy is where I refer to them as, and it's just guys like that have always pissed me off just because to so many people, they come across as incredibly likable, incredibly charming, nothing's a big deal, you know, everything's fine. And they just have this way of dismissing important things
Starting point is 00:10:28 or important feelings to people just because they're always putting on the good face. You don't have to tell me that. Yeah. And it seems like this situation has made that even more clear where even now it doesn't seem like Schwartz is really willing to take any type of meaningful stand about what's right or what's wrong.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Yeah. Gosh. I mean, yeah. Having been with him for over a decade and him minimizing and trivializing big issues because he doesn't deem them to be, or he thinks, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:04 just, just get over it. Just, you know, just get over it. Just, you know, just let it go. Just let it go. And it's like that is so frustrating. And yeah, he is so likable and cute and charming. And, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:14 to be the other person in a relationship like that, you know, you're going to be looked at as the difficult one or the less likable one. And it's... Not as fun or what's wrong with Katie or whatever. It's just like, oh, why are you killing the vibe?
Starting point is 00:11:30 Yeah, shit like that all the time. Exactly. So I didn't really stand a chance to be likable, I think, in that sense. And so with this whole scandal situation, I've had conversations with him about it and just trying to ask him to like really take a hard look at it.
Starting point is 00:11:52 And his friend, and I know it's difficult to do because it's like, you wanna always give your friend the benefit of the doubt and try to be there for them even in difficult times. But I told him, I'm like like this isn't that kind of situation you know because this is like a these are character flaws i think you know like this this is something that like i like ariana was your friend as well and you were close to ariana and so it's just like and i told him i'm like now that like you've really hitched your wagon to this person and you're in business with this person and the fact that they could go out into the world and be so careless and not think about the ramifications and how it could affect
Starting point is 00:12:29 you like that has to be frustrating to you what'd he say he he didn't i'm trying to remember but like i don't think he hadn't like not considered that but he's just very much concerned about the business and that aspect of and just is like well i don't think you know the business should like have to fail because of it and i'm like well i don't like cancel culture in that sense in general but like when your business is you know solely based off your reputation when you're when you're slapping your name on something like and it's and it's based off of you know your reputation yeah if you want to be the fun guys who like you know everyone wants to come have a drink with you better maintain that you're a fun guy that someone wants to have a drink with yeah so the minute in the minute you're not that guy anymore well it's kind of par for the course and i think that that's mean to say. I don't know if that's mean to say.
Starting point is 00:13:25 But I hope that Tom is able to make smart choices. Starting point is 00:16:40 Does he even get it now? It doesn't seem like it registers at like, not to sound like, like actions have consequences, such a common, hey, actually, you learn when you're six. Yeah, basic fundamental shit. It's like they're more operators
Starting point is 00:16:55 as long as everyone's having fun and as long as we're having a good time and as long as people like me, it's fine. Right. But that is like their MO, but it's fine. Right, but that is their MO, but it's like, well, right now, people don't like your friend.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Yeah. So you can live in denial if you want and try to ignore the very truth of this matter, but I don't know. I don't know because I think he's just yeah wanting to live in that denial just based on like other stuff that you know i've been watching the show and um feeling other ways about just how he handled himself and the way he spoke about me and you know just everything i've kind of distanced myself a little bit so i'm not trying to engage
Starting point is 00:17:43 too much with him these days that makes sense but i do care about him and i want the best for him and i know that he is being also directly affected by this do you think his friendship with sandoval has forever changed or do you think there's still a loyalty there i think he feels like he has to have a loyalty but i i don't think he realizes that he has a choice. Yeah. That there's options here. People can be in business all the time and can sever friendships. Like, hey, this is work going forward.
Starting point is 00:18:17 You know, I don't necessarily trust you, so to speak. I mean, you got to make it work, I get. But like they were best friends. You know, they've been kind of inseparable. I mean, you got to make it work, I get, but they were best friends. They've been kind of inseparable. Many people think that Swartz knew much longer than he has let on. And I'm not still certain on that timeline, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:18:35 You're not? Okay. Yeah. Do you know what Ariana believes? I think we all kind of are in that same boat, but I think the main thing with Tom and Tom is that we've seen in past that, you know, Sandoval or Schwartz is very much subservient to Tom in a lot of ways. Like he lets Tom kind of dominate him and the friendship and the business. And because Schwartz is kind of like wants to just go with the flow and doesn't want to be confrontational about things. with the flow and doesn't want to be confrontational about things.
Starting point is 00:19:04 Had the roles been reversed, let's say in this whole situation with the scannable at all that I told them that, you know, I think Tom would throw you under the bus and save himself. Like he would drown you if the ship was sinking, you know, and save him, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:18 he would hop in a lifeboat. So I think as much as you want to maybe say that that isn't true or you don't think that would happen, like think about it because I think that much as you want to maybe say that that isn't true or you don't think that would happen, like, think about it because I think that would. Yeah. I don't mean, you know, you know them a lot more than me. I just know them through TV. But Sandoval seems like the worst to me. Wow.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Just the absolute, like his bad, I think is hilarious. His band for attention. That's what it is right yeah well i never saw them play yeah on purpose what is going on with are they calling tmz on themselves that's right it seems pretty clear that they are supposedly rachel did with in front of the blush and we're rachel now we're just calling her rachel, I've just gotten the habit of it. That's fine. I've honestly been confused. I don't know what to say. I want to call her Rachel, but I don't want to
Starting point is 00:20:10 confuse people. Well, because it's, well, the thing is, I think because we've all known this girl Raquel when she entered this group, you know, however many years ago. But this other person who is now showing her face is
Starting point is 00:20:26 you know who she truly is so we're going back to the going back to Rachel Rachel because you know pretended to be Raquel yeah Raquel was the persona okay that was the stage persona so like Rachel pageants and age out of being Rachel
Starting point is 00:20:41 is the kind of former pageant who couldn't make it in the pageant world and is clinging on to like you know relevancy and validation and has pretended to be friends with people who graciously let her into their world and then started fucking a bunch of people and then now after she's been caught is still not really other than a written statement which i thought the written statement was pretty pretty solid but we don't honestly know who wrote it but her actions yeah yeah ever since then have have reeked of she's enjoying this story i mean honestly she comes across as if nothing else to be enjoying
Starting point is 00:21:25 the attention i don't know what an enjoyment or just just really not understanding the gravity of it like how could she show up at their fucking house oh yeah oh yeah did she sleep over i think so yeah right like you didn't you don't just pop by and bring all your overnight luggage like how could she i mean i i why do i ask how could she do that as if like but like i i get i could even i could even say all right maybe sandoval was the more manipulative in power maybe kind of control and then rachel was had some thought they were in love thought they would get caught up in a romance and whatever and just maybe she you know has some past trauma she needs validation but now after she's gotten caught and this is all out there and and you see all the damage to to have the such lack of empathy to go to her house even if tom's like it's my house
Starting point is 00:22:28 we can do the fuck i want it's just like do the fucking decent thing and to say it would be really inappropriate for me to come by there let's just go to my place or somewhere else like you don't need to fucking do that no she has her own place that they could go i mean this whole thing began out of just poor judgment and just no shame so for them to apply any of that now i mean like i guess please you know i know in speaking about the beginning i'm sure everybody's going back and like putting all of these things together like just from like a kind of a friendship or closeness standpoint like was there a turning point where you were like oh raquel and like sandoval are spending a lot of time together oh totally yeah yeah yeah because i mean i knew that they were all like between tom and ariana
Starting point is 00:23:21 and sheena and raquel and you know other people like yeah they they were all like a group that hung out like consistently like they were all very close and I was more like on the outsides of it also um but then when I kind of started realizing like well Tom and Raquel are very close like they spend you know when Ariana's like not around like they'll still be hanging out like if Ariana chooses not to go to like a party or an event well tom and raquel just go together and i'm like i mean like you can have platonic friends you know but it's like there was just something off about the situation there was just something that reeked a bit to me and thomas had like really good you know girlfriends in the past do we now we wonder if maybe he was fucking them too
Starting point is 00:24:07 like has ariana gone back in her head and wondered if there's been more infidelity that she just didn't catch i'm sure but i don't think that's like what good would that do now you know someone who ruminates on things uh over and, I have found that I've done unproductive things at times. But if she's not, good for her. I think at this point, I don't want to know. I think this was enough for her to put the nail in the coffin. But I think also for everyone else, because for me, I'm just like oh god
Starting point is 00:24:45 like the lightning bolt necklaces i mean i'm when i'm around my friends all the time i notice things that they're wearing especially if they're going to be wearing something all the time i'm like is that new and like you wear it all the time what's this like significance a lightning bolt for like it's not like it's a heart or a butterfly like it's like it's like cute like i wouldn't ask it you know but a lightning bolt i'd be like what's with the lightning bolt you know but like no one did and i i don't know i think that like when you're so close to something that like maybe you just you can't see but when you start to take you know like i keep saying like well then i were in the cheap seats like so like we had like bird's eye view on something and we could see
Starting point is 00:25:21 everything that was happening well and it's also just kind of a shitty thing too because when stuff like this goes on especially from ariana's standpoint and i guess even yours or lala's you know because you guys are all friends with everyone it's just a shitty feeling to to think to yourself you know like well i don't want to be the jealous one or i don't want to question them or i don't want to you, and then you start almost like gaslighting yourself almost in a way. Yeah. You want to trust your gut,
Starting point is 00:25:48 but then you're just like, well, if me trusting my gut is me doubting people or making accusations and then only to find out it was true is such a just shitty feeling. I think Ariana just like was just wholeheartedly like, I trust this girl so much and like I'm not like a jealous type person
Starting point is 00:26:06 and or like not of this situation i don't i'm not i don't get jealous of my friends and i i trust her and i don't think for a moment that she would ever do this so like i don't know if those thoughts entered her brain before maybe like i don't know yeah can we put the whole threesome rumor to bed? Is that... Oh, that's, yeah, that's so not true. That seemed... That was concocted somewhere on the internet.
Starting point is 00:26:32 I figured. And I assumed, I knew it wasn't true when Raquel denied it, because I figured, well, if it was, that would... Sandoval would use it to gaslight Arianariana in a way right i mean i think if it was true then this wouldn't have been such breaking news and all right you know what i mean because that's i think she would have had certain feelings about their you know friendship and you
Starting point is 00:27:03 know what i mean? Totally. Well, I'm just glad we were able to put that to bed. How's Ariana doing now? Is she on the mend? Is she thriving? Is she still healing? Where is she at now? I mean, it's all of that, I think.
Starting point is 00:27:22 I mean, I think when it comes to any kind of relationship that ends, especially after a decade, almost long relationship, it's not linear. You're going to have days where you're like, I feel great. It's always easier when you can really hate the person, I think. But I think for the most part, she's feeling really good.
Starting point is 00:27:39 She has a really healthy outlook on it all that she wants to just leave it in the past, move on. She thinks they're scumbags, so that's helpful. But she understands that every day her life is going to get better. But it doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. Oh, sure. So it's like, yeah. You'll have your moments or something triggers you and it just kind of ruins the afternoon.
Starting point is 00:28:04 But as a whole, like she's doing good. She like looks good. Like she's like lit within. I don't know. It's just like, it feels like the life is just brought back to her. Because, you know, when things just like aren't like the best that they've been and you feel like they're just drained, you know, I could just see in her face that she just. Do you think going forward she will be... Because Ariana,
Starting point is 00:28:26 again, I don't know her that well, but she seems, at least in the past, to be more Switzerland. Definitely can be friends with a lot of people. She's... Do you think now, going forward, she'll be... Jaded?
Starting point is 00:28:42 Not necessarily jaded, but like, you know, just a little bit more willing to not be friends with everyone or just a little bit more outspoken with how she's feeling rather than maybe in the past where it was like it's not happening to me i guess i don't want to upset this you know she was just you know everyone's friend you know and she's a good friend but i guess when something like this happens to you i think it's easier for you to just have a pov on a on a situation and that's how i found myself you know if i've been wrong in the past you know not necessarily just because it's something that happens just like it happened to me but it's just you're just quicker to be like
Starting point is 00:29:23 nah it's fucked up you know and i'm gonna say this is fucked up like last episode when uh fucking james james is you know getting in a fight with some guy in the hallway or whatever i when she just went after james i loved that i was like more of that ariana thing is she she's always had that edge to her she doesn't she doesn't get to that place as quickly or as easily. The thing I always liked about Ariana is that she can be very objective in her opinions. And sometimes it's a little bit Switzerland and neutral. But I think she can often see both sides. And when it comes to me especially, she's been in between, you know, me and Sandoval, but like still like really love me and, you know, and been
Starting point is 00:30:08 able to like have a really great genuine friendship with me, even though like her boyfriend has really not liked me. And, you know, and she's not always gotten along with like one of my like best friends, but like she's not withheld friendship with me or judged me for, you know, it's like, so I've always- It's your quality to have. I've always appreciated that about her thing it's a it's very mature and it's something that i've kind of like aspired to be in my own ways as well you know so i like that kind of influence but i think yeah i
Starting point is 00:30:35 think this like will kind of harden her a little bit and not in a bad way but just to kind of be less trusting and welcoming of like whoever and whatever into her life because a little more careful yeah yeah because i think she was always like oh this person just needs a friend you know and i think she's going to be a little bit more cautious of people and a little bit more like you know just like she's going to have like some walls up a little bit but yeah maybe a little quicker to call some things out that she doesn't agree with her she thinks is wrong because you know look at what happened i think i think just kind of dismissing some things in the past has maybe not worked out the best yeah i saw tiktok recently that was saying you know obviously
Starting point is 00:31:17 everyone is like rallying behind ariana and being like i hate tom sandoval ariana's the best but something i think a lot of people are forgetting is that the Raquel and Schwartz kind of storyline was basically a scapegoat or like a way to hide the Sandoval storyline. And then you have to watch all of that. And you're brought into that. And it's being waved in your face. And I don't feel like people give you enough credit for what you had to go through, even if it was kind of like a way of hiding what was actually going on.
Starting point is 00:31:45 That couldn't have been easy. Yeah. I mean, i couldn't agree more that well couldn't have been easy wasn't a scapegoat or was that just raquel not being able to get enough of attention from everyone you know the world may never know because truthfully she will i don't know like i've heard her say even that tm thing. She's like, no, I really like Schwartz. Listen, I think I've spot on.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Who knows? She's always been a fan. So maybe she really did like them both. But you know, I don't know. At the end of the day, it was still extremely hurtful because I had sat in front of her, not once,
Starting point is 00:32:21 but twice and told her that it would hurt me. And so could you please not, you know, I don't think she understood what i was going through and so that's why i kept kind of jumping to the like okay well you know like we're still like married not like in my mind being like i still am in a relationship with this person but she wasn't grasping like like that this wasn't like my high school boyfriend or some dude i dated like we were like in a marriage like we were together for 12 years like we we owned a home together we were planning a family like do you know what that means like she's very thick-skulled so yeah so for her just to still continue on with that anyway and then to learn later on that she also was you know so for her to be dirty in plain sight like that it was like wow but then she was also being dirty like in the
Starting point is 00:33:05 shadows was like the girl is soulless you know um so yeah so it's like it's just it's just it's such a gross feeling all around and that's the other thing is like i i believe that tom schwartz to like in mexico when that hook kiss went down like he didn't know at that time that like i think he still genuinely thought that like she was down to make out and he was down to make out and that like because that would have been weird had he known for him to do that yeah but also like him and santa are weird i don't know but that's the thing it's like sheena has now said that someone who one of her friends who was there for the wedding was going through photos and saw in the background of a pool photo that Raquel and Sandoval were in a cabana the morning of the wedding during which Sheena was getting ready. Ariana was helping her get ready. So they were completely like out of sight, out of mind. But Raquel was just basically at a part-time job down there. I think everyone's noticing that they were just always kind of just like they're in the background to get like, you know, just yeah. Have you ever had that feeling where you buy something and then like the next like day or two
Starting point is 00:34:16 you see it listed for less expensive and you kick yourself? Like that is the bane of my existence. Like I am not trying to leave money on the table. Like I want to be spending money on treating myself and having a good time. But I want to be doing that in a way that's like efficient and smart. And so one thing that I really like about Drizzly is in addition to being so convenient, it's a really good way of price matching all of these different stores, seeing which one has the best rate and also making sure that, you know, you're not driving all the way out to a store only to find out they're out of stock for something oh yeah and it's just like not only that yeah the convenience of something just coming to your door you know it's exactly what you want you know it's the right brand you know it's the best price and you don't even have to leave your

Starting point is 00:37:49 of like reconciliation between you and Sheena? Because I know Sheena a little bit. I've known you. It seems like there's probably a lot I don't know
Starting point is 00:37:57 but it seems like two people who deep down maybe just like it's almost like a fight you don't know where it started. I don't know where it's just like
Starting point is 00:38:04 It's not a fight that had a starting point. It's almost like a fight. You don't know where it started. I don't know. It's not a fight that had a starting point. It's 10 years of knowing each other and having a hard time clicking and then just sort of being like, you know what? Maybe we just aren't meant to be friends because we maybe just have different personalities. We like a different type of friendship and if I can't give you the type of friendship you need and i can't
Starting point is 00:38:28 and vice versa then maybe we just like don't because it's like we're just going to constantly be fighting when somebody shows you like who they are you believe them and i feel like with she knows it's kind of been a cyclical thing where she like kind of does this thing where she'll throw rocks and hide her hands and she doesn't want to take responsibility for like the little like shit stirring that she does and i'm somebody that is like you know exactly what you're getting with me and sometimes i'm harsh with my words but like that's it i'm but i'm never gonna like fuck you over or be you know the was sheena she always wants to pretend that she's gonna be like super sweet and super nice and all this but it's like no you no, you do shady shit. And, um, so it just,
Starting point is 00:39:05 it can be like a very frustrating time with her. So it's like for her, if she just wants to like change that behavior, you know what I mean? And just kind of like, I don't know then, then possibly, but I just,
Starting point is 00:39:15 I don't, I don't know. Yeah. I think most likely what you said is probably most true. It's just like after this long, maybe just like a friendships, not in the cards, but like, have you ever had a conversation where it's just like, it just seems like it's, you know, you sit down, it's like we're wasting too much energy on each other, not getting along.
Starting point is 00:39:45 mutual like best friends so it does take more energy to to be actively avoiding each other and like not getting along so when we are in a place where it's like okay maybe you and i aren't like texting and going to like you know lunch together but like when it's something that we're all doing like if you and i can just like be in the same room and have a laugh and it's you know but it's not nothing serious then that's kind of like the sweet spot but you know this past summer was like very fucked up yeah watching back like the wedding especially because like in the past few episodes of vanderpump we've seen that kind of unfold and all the drama about the hotel room like do you have any like what is your perspective on that now? The hotel room? She moved you. Oh, 36. How much is that like the show?
Starting point is 00:40:26 Because honestly, I'm watching it and I'm wondering like, as someone who's been on reality TV before, but like I'm in a bubble, I am fascinated by like, is there a line between like what's reality and what's part of the show versus like, you know, you guys have to make a good TV show. You have to, you know, show you have to you know are you ever leaning into that stuff or is this all just like they're just capturing the real authentic drama that's always going on or is it like you know we're making a tv show let's move katie's ass you know to this tower to this tower and like you know i i'm i'm genuinely curious okay there's a couple things
Starting point is 00:41:05 for one thing they're always capturing like the drama of what's happening but the other side of it is that in order to do that you know
Starting point is 00:41:13 they have to like there's a whole production team you have to be in the same place yeah you have to be in Mexico they have to get they have to get permits they have to
Starting point is 00:41:21 they have to be able to clear hotels that we can stay in it's not just like it's not that we can stay in. It's not just like, it's not that we can just go wherever we want and the cameras are going to follow us. They can't do that. They also,
Starting point is 00:41:29 you know, schedule like crews and where they're going to be at whatever time, you know what I mean? Like, and then our job is just to like talk about what we need to talk about, say what we got to say, you know, and they're going to be there with the camera,
Starting point is 00:41:40 you know, but I can't just go stay at whatever resort I want to stay at. Like that's not a freaking option you know what i mean i know i know exactly what you mean i'm thinking if if this wasn't a tv show i don't think katie would have insisted at going to this resort well also the truth i i did book my own room and back in june well like i got sheena's wedding invitation end of april i then went to Italy for Stassi's wedding. So right when I got back, I was also in the midst of packing up my house to move. So I had so much going on, but I was like, okay, I got to figure out this Mexico room situation.
Starting point is 00:42:20 I then booked my room end of May. I put down a deposit or whatever to secure the room. And then by beginning of June, I had paid my room end of May. I put down like a deposit or whatever to secure the room. And then by beginning of June, I had paid my room in full. I got the receipts to prove it. But so like my room was paid for. We knew that we were going and like we were going to be filming there and everything like that. Like I couldn't say like, no, I'm going to stay back here. Like, you know, at that point, they're like, no, no.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Like we're all going. You're going. You're going. You're going. You're going. Like we're all going to stay back here. Like, you know, at that point, they're like, no, no, like, we're all going. You're going, you're going, you're going, you're going. Like, we're all going to Mexico. Yeah. Like. To make a TV show. Yeah. Like, this is where, like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:53 So it's like, of course, it's like a little uncomfortable. Like, obviously, you know, and so like when she moved my room, I wasn't like pissed. I wasn't like, how dare she? But I was kind of like, all right. Like, why are you thinking about this? this like aren't you getting married right now like you're spending a lot of time and energy like into what i'm doing and where i'm at like i truly like i just want to be here with my friend hanging out by the pool having some drinks just like like i really am not trying to be around your wedding believe it or not like that's really what i'm not trying to do that so you know i know that because i'm here it's
Starting point is 00:43:30 gonna be less avoidable but but i'm like not like actively trying to like ruin your day by being here okay i'm i'm rooting for some reconciliation in the future with everything that's happened with the scandal and everything, obviously we've kind of put that aside, some of it to bed, and we've seen each other more than we have in the last year, basically. Me, Sheena, and Ariana are hosting Emo Night this weekend,
Starting point is 00:43:58 so there's that. Okay. We're guest DJing, I guess. We're not hosting. Where is this? In Hollywood. Okay. So there's that.
Starting point is 00:44:06 How did, I know you're probably limited in how much you can talk about it, but like reunion, was it? Yeah, I'm limited obviously, but. Crazy or surprised? There's rumors of physical altercations. Was there a physical altercation? Lala did say security was
Starting point is 00:44:25 called yeah there was definitely like oh my god like there was people had to get involved okay was there one person whose behavior particularly surprised you at the reunion um i don't know if it was a pride but yeah there was multiple people that i was like that was weird weird okay yeah the i was like definitely interested in like people's body language That was weird. Weird? Okay. Yeah, I was definitely interested in people's body language and the way the body language was changing depending on who was speaking to them or who they spoke to.
Starting point is 00:44:56 Can you give us an example? Well, this person at times would either just be kind of hunched over and staring at the ground, and other times they'd, you know, be a little bit more like animated. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:09 Interesting. Yeah. Just depending on who was addressing them or who they addressed. If, because Raquel was seated between the Toms, you said, right. You saw the seating chart.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Yeah. Yeah. So if Tom, if one of the Toms was talking to her easy to just, you know, it's not known for his eye contact. Sometimes that's what I will her. Easy to just, you know. Schwartz, not known for his eye contact sometimes is what I will say. Maybe, maybe.
Starting point is 00:45:29 On the Raquel Sheena of it all, or Team Sheena there, in terms of this bullshit, what seems to be restraining order that then got dropped afterwards, it seemed like a very performative thing on the part of Rachel. Yeah. Oh my God. I thought afterwards. It seemed like a very performative thing on the part of Rachel. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Oh, my God. I thought it was nonsense. Yeah. I was like, you're- Kind of gross. You do not feel like your life is threatened right now. Like, that's not- Like, it was just-
Starting point is 00:45:56 The absolute worst time to play the victim. I also love that one of Sheena's main defenses was she was like, I can't ball a fist with my nails. Like, she was like, I physically can't make a fist. Wouldn't that be the different, like if you're going to punch someone, you need like, and to actually like cause harm, you would actually need to be able to make a proper fist. And you'd break your nails. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:19 If you had any type of nails whatsoever. Yeah. It's like, I know I don't want this to go to court for Sheena's sake, but can you imagine the play-by-play where they have, you know how with Gwyneth they had the reenactment, the recreation of the ski accident? That would have been kind of wild. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:39 Do you think, like, if you had to guess, because it seems as though, you know, with the overnight visits and their continued contact, Tom and Rachel are trying to make it work the america's sweethearts um how if you had to bet like how long would you give that before they're like completely broken up and done with each other oh my god well i said i'll watch that because i you know at this point they may as well like give it a you know real shot because you think they should give it a shot who was gonna who's gonna be like call me you know what i mean like i only have each other now guys i mean i i'm i'm certain that sandoval can uh talk his way and manipulate plenty of of willing fans
Starting point is 00:47:21 and i don't think sandoval from where I stand has a problem with, uh, hooking up with fans. Um, yeah, I mean, and then Raquel, I could see why Raquel was, wants to make it work with Sandoval because once she's dropped by Sandoval,
Starting point is 00:47:38 then really who does she have? Right. And is she even on the cast? I have, at this point, i have no idea as yeah has there been any discussions like going forward next seasons of how this looks because like you know for the drama of the show hey i i see yeah i see the upside right i see this the storylines i mean i'm watching i want to know what the fuck's going on between sandoval
Starting point is 00:48:02 and and rachel and a and Ariana and Sandoval and Rachel and you and Swartz all in the same room. Holy, that's TV, you know? Sounds like a nightmare. Yeah, but what I'm saying, on a personal level, it's just like, is it even doable? Because like a few of you have the right to be like, I'm not fucking doing this, you know?
Starting point is 00:48:21 And that would be more than understandable. I know, I know. But then it's like, you have to be like, okay, well would be more than understandable. I know, I know. But then it's like, you have to be like, okay, well, this is kind of the job, I guess. But also, you have to try to make sense of it in your head. But what is the reality of the situation? In what world, how do I make sense of, I'm going to be in the same room as this person?
Starting point is 00:48:44 Beyond it just being like, this is a show that we do. You know what I mean? Like, you have to make it make sense. I don't know, I have no idea what's gonna happen. No, I don't think anyone does. I'm just trying to like, we just like, did the reunion. It's like, we're just fresh out of this season, you know? So it's like, I can't even wrap my head around a next season.
Starting point is 00:49:04 How do those conversations go? Do they even have to ask you you guys i don't know i kind of like no like we we don't really get let's say i mean i think they could also they could have a conversation and see like where our heads are at but it's at the end of the day it's not like you know we're not producers on the show. So we don't get like. I guess. What's dating been like for you? Have you been able to prioritize your love life with all this drama going on? How are things going for you in that department?
Starting point is 00:49:39 Well, not because of any of this stuff, but just hasn't really just been, you know, I haven't been like aggressively pursuing dating or a relationship. It's kind of like if I meet someone and I'm interested, then I'll be interested in seeing them or seeing where it goes. There's no like expectations or limitations when it comes to that. But, you know, it's not like I'm putting myself on apps and like really trying to like find a boyfriend you know i'm pretty solid where i'm at and um don't feel like i'm missing anything in that area um i don't know i mean it's kind of content and open yeah yeah with um the new with the restaurant something about her sandwich shop um i'm so curious like one how that's going and then also in watching obviously like you and ariana had a front row seat as your partners at the time started a business so like
Starting point is 00:50:31 what are some of the things that you witnessed firsthand that you're like fuck no we are not going to make those mistakes like we are definitely going to do this differently oh my god pretty well pretty much everything they did we were like well i mean the entire approach we wanted to do differently um we wanted to really crystallize our idea and our plan budget branding all of it before we even started spending any kind of real money well we did we worked with a consulting uh company who would you who opened their own restaurants, who have helped other people relaunch and other, from hotels to coffee shops
Starting point is 00:51:13 to other bars and restaurants around LA. So they're total pros. They know really what they're doing. And then working with a branding person. And I think a lot of people think like, okay, well, is this ever going to happen? You've been talking about this for so long. And it's like, yeah, but this is part of the process.
Starting point is 00:51:31 This is part of the process that probably takes the longest. Aside from finding a location, which can also add a lot of time to that process. And then depending on the location you find, what kind of construction or- Do you have a tentative open date? I think it's going to be like early, early summer.
Starting point is 00:51:47 OK, I'm super. I mean, yeah, like we're big sandwich people. We're huge sandwich people. I mean, I feel like I feel like most people are whenever people have a sandwich every day for lunch.
Starting point is 00:51:57 And if we can get something on the menu that I love, I will be eating every day. There's going to be something for everyone. But I think it's so funny when people are like, why sandwiches? I'm like,
Starting point is 00:52:07 what do you mean why sandwiches? I'm like, do you not like sandwiches? They're like, no, I love sandwiches. I'm like, exactly. It's not like I'm opening up a magic shop.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Like, what the fuck are you talking about? Although we would go there too. I would go there. We just have some sort of like turkey club option and then maybe like an Italian. There's turkey options and italian options
Starting point is 00:52:26 on there like it's gonna we're not it's i'm really excited nick has a sweatshirt he bought us something about i was gonna wear it today but it's dirty i wore it it's uh i already sent it to katie great great that's a big compliment i was gonna wear it but i wore it so much i couldn't yeah there it is yeah real fan uh i honestly uh james and what's his name? Ashley? Allie. Yeah, she seems kind of like whatever the fuck. Like why is she there? You like her?
Starting point is 00:52:54 I do like Allie. You don't? Okay. I do. No, I think she's- I'm an asshole. I think she's really- She's my favorite quote. Why is she there?
Starting point is 00:53:00 I think she's really sweet, actually. She does seem sweet. I do enjoy Allie, yeah. Okay. What do you think of like... Their relationship. Yeah, because it seems like there's a lot of ways in which... And maybe part of this is just that we see her on camera
Starting point is 00:53:11 where she's kind of like James's plus one, so to speak, or new to the show. So maybe that's like a skewed picture of like that we're getting. But like sometimes it just seems like she's very much like kind of like going with the flow and the tempo that he sets. Like, how do you feel like their relationship operates i know i mean because i was trying to also kind of just observe and figure out what the dynamic was and how how how they operate because obviously we were all like all right so you were engaged to raquel and then you guys broke up and then
Starting point is 00:53:44 literally six weeks later you're in a new relationship and then you guys broke up and then literally six weeks later, you're in a new relationship and you're so, so, so in love and you have to remind everyone every five minutes that you're so, so, so, so in love.
Starting point is 00:53:52 And so it's like, it can be like a slightly concerning cause you're like, are you trying to convince everyone else or yourself? Like what is going on here? And so, you know, it's like, are you just genuinely excited?
Starting point is 00:54:01 And you know, but I think he really is in love with her. And I think she's kind of smart enough to just keep her kind of self in check with it all but she's pretty strong um and i think she isn't afraid to kind of put him in his place when he needs to be i've seen it doesn't come across on the show although no i mean the thing is you don't get to say everything but um but i like i like them and i do and i've you know i've spent enough time around them i'm like okay i can see this dynamic here and i do like them together and james is you know yeah i think he can be i don't i don't know that i could be in a relationship with him so you know props
Starting point is 00:54:42 to her but it's weird i i don't again like i'm i'm new to the show and i've i've seen james out in the past around the city i've certainly known of all of you before i got to be friends with some of you i truly never thought that like james would be the least problematic on season 10 i don't even know if that's fair but like you know because at least it seems like james has i mean he says he's fairly cringe fairly often on the show but he he does seem like with lala or like with you the reason why i feel like if it's like i watch a show and i and i think lala katie these are people like have my personality or like, you know, while they might be different, like I like people who aren't afraid to give their POV to take a stand to be like, ah, it's, you know, like that's fucked up or whatever and
Starting point is 00:55:33 speak their mind. And like, it seems like James a little bit has that where like, whether I agree with him or not, it seems like he, he's willing to like say what he thinks is right or wrong. Because again, it's like literally the opposite thinks is right or wrong. Because again, it's like literally the opposite of, of Sworch is like, I hate the, I'm just going to, I'm not going to stand up for anything or anyone because I just,
Starting point is 00:55:54 I don't want to ruffle feathers. And, and I, and I hate that. And at least with James, it's like, I may not agree with you, but at least you will,
Starting point is 00:56:03 you'll have a POV and you, you'll ruffle some feathers, ruffle some feathers. And at least you will you'll have a pov and you you'll ruffle some feathers ruffle some feathers and at least you will you have conviction yeah no what i like that's you nailed it yeah no i it's it again going back to just with tom being in a relationship with him was very frustrating because he would have opinions, you know, in private. He'd have plenty of opinions, but when it came to sharing them with the group, he'd be like, no, I don't want to. Do you feel a bit vindicated with all this going on?
Starting point is 00:56:35 I mean, obviously, but it's not, but I don't feel, it's not like a prideful thing. Like, ah. No, but a little bit more seen and understood. Yes, I do. And that that's and that feels very nice because i feel like i've been very misunderstood for a very long time so for to kind of have that like veil fall down a little bit or become like a little bit more
Starting point is 00:56:59 transparent then yeah 100 when he called you selfish that one day at the bar oh god yeah and i was like it was this i i knew right there that tom was an incredibly selfish person who called other people selfish all the time because like selfish people do that yeah because by definition if you are a selfish person then you can't see other people's needs and therefore anytime other people consider their needs to you they're selfish well yeah because it's like he pulled me into that conversation and we were yeah was calling me family you're like my only family here okay great wonderful and then you know once i tried to you know let him know that i felt hurt by a situation i can't have feelings around tom because you know he because you're i felt hurt by a situation i can't have feelings around tom because
Starting point is 00:57:46 you know he because you're making it all about you then well well it's that but it's also like emotions freak him out anything that's like below the surface is like too much for him you know and it's also like he didn't want i know that like having that conversation in that environment when all of his friends were around, it was a friends and family event. It wasn't open to the public. He didn't need to say hello to that person in that moment right then.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Is therapy in the cards for any of the Toms? Do you think that's something? I had heard that Tom Sandoval was doing therapy. Really? Yeah. From? Ariana. Oh. Yeah. Okay. sandoval was doing therapy really yeah from ariana oh yeah okay is this prior to scandoval or post i don't know what he's up to post but like so this was like before news had broke he'd been
Starting point is 00:58:36 seeking out some mental health resources and yeah but tom no i i tom and i had done like some couples therapy but like and i would i had encouraged him to do therapy on his own but he's like i don't want to like they'd ask me like how does that make you feel and i'm like that's kind of the point like you want to unpack those things tom that's kind of the point is getting down to those those things ask yourself some tough questions yeah he's like, I'm like, they don't need to frame it that way. You know,
Starting point is 00:59:08 they could phrase it another way if it makes you feel better. But if it's too like, they're pissy or, you know, shrinky for you, they could do it another way. I kind of,
Starting point is 00:59:19 I want to talk with the Toms. Do you think they'd ever, I've been hard on them though. Do you think they would come on? Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't know about vandival shorts man you might because i want to be like what the fuck dude he might yeah he's he's he's you know i'd be very curious what your thoughts would be i would be too could you uh not be charmed oh yeah oh yeah he's hard oh charm doesn't work on me what do you think
Starting point is 00:59:47 nick would be fine he's like very very nice oh i and i'm sure and i i wouldn't want to be a dick to him hey man you gotta come by the bar oh yeah totally oh yeah you know he's like i'm not a big drinker yeah are you from the midwest I am, yeah. He's got the Minnesota fucking nice in him. No, I'll do it right back to him. I'm from Minnesota. See, you guys are all gonna become best friends and you're gonna be like. I will be, I'm not gonna be an asshole to him,
Starting point is 01:00:16 but I wanna have like an honest conversation with him about like certain behaviors that I find obnoxious and certain behaviors that I find obnoxious and certain behaviors that I find to be conveniently like obtuse, you know, to other people. And, you know, it's like, it was fine. It's fine in your twenties, but like, it's not cute. You're the definition of, of, you know, Peter Pan, you know? And it's just like, doesn't that bother you doesn't it bother you at this point in your life that you're you're going the wrong direction so to speak and he even opened up on the show about like he's a cliche and things like that and i'm really curious
Starting point is 01:00:57 like i'd want to pick at that scab so to speak and and see when he goes to bed late at night like that must really bother him and instead of like ignoring it and then leaning into you know popping bottles like you know i want to know if he's willing to ever what like what's this like this this path you're on tom so to speak you know if it doesn't change directions, how's this going to look in 10 years? Because like, you know, you're only like 39 or whatever. You still got a good head of hair. You're good looking.
Starting point is 01:01:31 40, you know, but like, it's real fucking weird in 10 years. And I'm just wondering, are you, do you plan on changing your behavior around people or not? Because I don't know, you know, and I'm just really curious. I think you could do it. Yeah. I think you might, like, because he would feel like he's in a safe place with, you know.
Starting point is 01:01:53 And I'm sure he's a swell guy, you know. Again, I have friends like him. Then you would know how to, like, get in there. Yeah. Because unlike the Sandoval, I want to believe that Schwartz just has to get some conviction and
Starting point is 01:02:09 I want to believe he's not capable of doing what his friend did not like that I mean like does he cheat yeah yeah well I'm okay let's take a quick break from Scandoval and Vanderpump and do a quick texting office hour
Starting point is 01:02:28 and we'll talk about other person's problems. Great. How's it going? I'm Olivia. I'm 26 and I need help crafting a text because I slept with an NFL player and I want to do it again. Okay. You want to sleep with them again or you want to try to like hang out with them again and
Starting point is 01:02:44 pursue a relationship? Or is this just about the sex? You know, being fully honest, I don't care if he ever knows my middle name. I would just like to run that back and sleep with him again. Okay. And if it, you know, maybe continues on. But yeah. All right.
Starting point is 01:02:56 All right. What position does he play? Quarterback. Oh. He doesn't play anymore. I should throw that out there. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:03 Former NFL. Did play. Was he a starting quarterback? Yes. I should throw that out there. Former NFL. Did play. Was he a starting quarterback? Yes. So sexy. Wow. Good job. I'm very proud of myself.
Starting point is 01:03:14 As you should be. We're very proud of you too. All right. Well, walk us through. Bring us into the how did you meet? Give us the romantic story. Give us the, you know. So he's kind of family friends i've known
Starting point is 01:03:26 known about him for a while and we had a wedding last weekend and i was invited he was invited and he was the first person i talked to we talked all night i was sitting at a different table by myself didn't know anyone he came and sat next to me to keep me company that was great and then after the wedding we went out played a game of pool went back to his hotel fantastic night he dropped me off in the morning and i was hoping to see him the next day at the brunch but we missed each other okay but he did follow me on instagram so that's how i got it okay so we have his gram and how did, when he dropped you off, was it like, I'll have to see you again? Where did he leave it?
Starting point is 01:04:07 How did you leave it? So, yeah, he asked me where I lived and we live like basically in the same town, like one town over, but very close. Okay. And there's actually a ferry that can go back and forth to the towns. And he did say like, oh, you should take the ferry over and come see. And then like he kissed me by, but then I never got his number. So I was like, oh, no.
Starting point is 01:04:27 But then I saw he followed me on Instagram. And so I want to, like, send him a DM. So he had sex with you and then followed you on Instagram. Yeah. I think that's something to work with. That sounds like an invitation. Yeah. Because if he was more like a hit and quit it, like, oh, I had sex with her.
Starting point is 01:04:43 And now it's like uh i don't know like you know like that kind of post nut clarity so to speak as they say i feel like he would he like and there's a difference between a follow and a follow back you know because a follow back's like okay i don't want to be an asshole i'll follow her back but he followed you first some initiative yeah yeah so i didn't see it till a few days after but it was like that sunday it's like the day he dropped me off so it was it was quick i love i love how you're feeling good about yourself um so yeah what what's stopping you from just like hitting them up like what are we trying to craft the perfect text or
Starting point is 01:05:23 yeah trying to craft the perfect dm because i don't want to be like too forward and like sexual but i also don't want to be like what do you got going on this weekend let's hang out you know so i'm trying to find a good and just out of curiosity despite how you said it what is wrong with what are you up to this weekend let's hang out i don't think you should send a video doing what you just did no no no no set a date don't whatever and so well i mean i guess what's the tone right i mean like i know you're i mean you're joking but you're not that like you just really loved having sex with this guy and are you let me ask you this are you put off are you just like looking at him and like this is he's got a really beautiful dick
Starting point is 01:06:10 he's great in bed but like honestly i don't want to i don't need to like fall in love with a former nfl quarterback like i'm like i don't want to date that I just want to fuck that is that where you're at or are you just like protecting yourself telling you I don't even know if I have a shot with this guy and I'm not even going to romanticize it I just I know I can have sex with them because I did and that's where my focus is at which which one is it I'd say I mean a little bit of both I'm just not really looking for a relationship at all because my job's changing I might be moving so like I'm not even trying to get involved with anything like that but I mean yeah a little bit of both
Starting point is 01:06:52 but uh yeah uh well if you like a little humor if you like a little humor you could hit him up and saying something like down for seconds question mark yeah I say humor is always a good way to go because you can be like direct and, you know,
Starting point is 01:07:10 but also lighthearted with it. Yeah. So like down for seconds or like, did you like dessert as much at the wedding? I don't know, something. And he's like, what? I didn't have any cake. I'm like, well, I wasn't talking about the cake.
Starting point is 01:07:23 I don't know. Just, yeah. Like don't overthink it. Like, you know, in your head, any cake. I'm like, well, I wasn't talking about the, I don't know. Just, yeah. Like, don't overthink it. Like, you know, in your head, I'm guessing you're like,
Starting point is 01:07:29 I want to be funny, but not serious, but I don't want to be too sexual and like lead with, like, who gives a shit? Like, you've seen each other naked.
Starting point is 01:07:37 The amount of capacity this has taken up, it's a lot. Yeah. You've seen each other naked. You've exchanged fluids. P's been in the V. We're friends. Like, it's all, it's all fine. Yeah. Yeah. You've seen each other naked. You've exchanged fluids. P's been in the V. We're friends.
Starting point is 01:07:46 Like it's all, it's all fine. Yeah. That's a way to say that. And as a, as a, as a former NFL quarterback, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that he is not going to be turned off by quote unquote locker room talk,
Starting point is 01:08:04 so to speak, you know? And I just think maybe a little sexual humor, if you want to keep it light, might be, you know, I love, we're probably saying, we're probably giving her this advice and he's just like, I don't know, I just feel very sexualized by you. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:20 Just be like, you should get your ass on the ferry for round two this weekend. Yeah. Perfect. How do you feel about that? katie say right there yeah yeah i was thinking about pulling in the ferry into it yeah conversation so that's not a bad one just like there's a ferry at this time you should be on it for round two are you open to like him visiting you you visiting him like was it it kind of implied which way it would be? Yeah, I'm feeling more so me go to him. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:48 Because I currently just moved out of my apartment, so it's disaster zone. Also, yes, and as a celebrity or a public figure, you want it to be safe and comfortable for him. He needs home field advantage yeah he wants home there we go okay well then the other way then you say i'm thinking about i'm thinking about this getting on this ferry and yeah or what if it's like which of us is so which of us is getting our ass on the ferry for round two this weekend and then it's a question because
Starting point is 01:09:20 then you can kind of respond right yeah yeah i. Yeah, I want something that ends with, I'll come to you, I think you need home field advantage. Okay. Or something like that. Give him a little football. A little football humor. Yeah. Well, my favorite, do you want a shot at the title? Unhinged.
Starting point is 01:09:41 Do you want another shot at the title? I'll give you home field advantage. Oh no. That's a little... Yeah, I know. I don't think any... I would never say that. Yeah, I mean...
Starting point is 01:10:01 How about round two? Or I'm down for seconds. Round two this weekend, I'll give you home round two or down for seconds? Round two this weekend, I'll give you home field advantage. I like that. Yeah. We like that? Yeah. I like that.
Starting point is 01:10:13 Do you feel good about it? And you hit them up on a Monday. I love it. Yeah, because plenty of time. You can't make plans then. It's either that or craving that D. No, I'm just kidding. Maybe not.
Starting point is 01:10:24 Trying to avoid that sort of talk. No, I'm just kidding. Maybe not. Trying to avoid that sort of talk. Yeah, I know. I like, what are you up to this weekend? Like round two this weekend. Round two this weekend. I'll give you home field advantage. I'll give you home field advantage. It's pretty to the point.
Starting point is 01:10:36 Yeah, I don't think we overdo it. I promise you this much. If he wants to have sex with you again, you can literally say anything is the point. You know what I'm saying? Like you would have to say something really fucking weird. Yeah. For him to be like,
Starting point is 01:10:52 you know what? I was going to have sex with her, but no, I don't want to, you know? And there's always a chance, like, you know,
Starting point is 01:10:59 as a NFL quarterback. I mean, like high school quarterbacks get laid more than they can handle. Like he's an NFL quarterback. So like he, you know, he just might not be down because, you know, he already was. So I, all I'm saying is whatever you do say, and this is, it's been fun to come up with something. If it doesn't really make a difference, don't overthink it or waste your energy on trying to craft the perfect response to ensure that you get another shot at having sex with him like if you're open and chill and he's down he'll be down okay that's very true i have been overthinking the shit out
Starting point is 01:11:37 of this the more chill you are the more you're you increase your chances yeah and he apparently he was talking all about me Sunday and good things. So that's good. I feel like I won't get shot down. Yeah. Don't give him the, I've been thinking about you,
Starting point is 01:11:54 missing you, or don't romanticize anything. Just real cutthroat a little bit. Make him feel a little used. It's okay. Okay. Guys get always thrown off when they feel a little objectified. That's true.
Starting point is 01:12:08 Yeah. They're like, wait, what? Huh? I want to cuddle. Should we send it now? Or is it too early? What part of the country are you in? I'm East Coast.
Starting point is 01:12:17 So it's later than you guys. You can send it now. Okay. So what are we saying? Oh, God. Are you down for round two? Round two this weekend? Question mark?
Starting point is 01:12:25 I'll give you home field advantage. Yeah, perfect. Yeah. The last part. I'm doing it, though. Home court advantage? Home field. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:12:34 Not court. I know sports, I swear. Three strikes, you're out. Get all the bases. Get all the sports. Home rink. Goal. Goal. Goal.
Starting point is 01:12:47 All right. Do we do it? Yeah. Are you down for round two this weekend? I'll give you a home field advantage. All right. Send. I sent it.
Starting point is 01:12:56 Yay. Shot, shot. All right. We love that for you. Let's just wait for like two minutes and maybe he'll respond. Well, I have a question, which was when you played a round of pool like are you good at pool did you win the game is he good at pool like tell me a little bit about that because i think for some follow-up banter granted probably don't want to be talking too much before this but if you need like one more
Starting point is 01:13:17 touchstone how did the pool game go it went well we won and he was like coming up behind me and like hugging me during the thing like oh so you were doing doubles oh yeah yeah him and i were on a team together and so we yeah so him and i won okay yeah i feel like if you wanted to you could also make a joke be like i was talking about pool by round two like what did you think i meant that's funny yeah yeah. Yeah. That's funny. You're sad. You could do that. What was the best part about the sex? Well, one, very large, like I'm a tall person and whatever, but it was just like constant all night, never ending. And that's just, I haven't been with many people that can go longer than a minute or
Starting point is 01:14:03 two. And so that was lovely. Well, he is a pro. It was like, it was like, it was like every hour. It was great. Wow. Wow. Good for you.
Starting point is 01:14:15 That's awesome. I'm like good for him. Good for everyone, honestly. Good for everyone. Love wins. Okay. And it was, he was a generous lover very okay have you posted a story on instagram at all since then he hasn't watched any of them but
Starting point is 01:14:38 trust me the last photo he's posted is like from years ago so i don't think he's very active on there okay so like he hasn't posted like i think he got like one but it was like a repost of a friend so i really don't think that he's like on there it would be almost strange if he was lurking lurking a little bit yeah yeah but i have been looking but all right well keep stop doing keep us posted yes i was hoping he'd reply but please as soon as if he's if the message changes to scene if he responds please update us immediately we are so invested in this i will don't worry i will let you guys know how it goes amazing all right well we're rooting for you can't wait to find out
Starting point is 01:15:20 oh that was fun. That was amazing. I was about to say like, is that a classroom? Yeah. Have you ever shot your shot with a professional athlete before? What do you think? I don't know. I think you're more than capable.
Starting point is 01:15:36 You were there. Oh, I didn't know he was an, oh, I didn't know. Well, he's no longer, like a former. Oh, I didn't know. I didn't even know who it was they were in Vegas remember the next day I was like oh my
Starting point is 01:15:50 god I remember that I just didn't know who it was I didn't know yeah you guys still talking no okay he was he said that he's bad with texting I was like well I don't know how else I'm supposed to communicate with you that I was like, well, I don't know how else I'm supposed to communicate with you.
Starting point is 01:16:06 That's just like a soft breakup, I think. Well, listen, I feel like I was like. Oh, yeah, you were. I was just, it was fun. You were definitely the conqueror, I feel like. Yeah. That night. Is that the wrong word?
Starting point is 01:16:20 Conqueror? She conquered him. He was so hot. You just seemed to be that that night you seem very kind of like he was the moon she put the flag yeah he was fine yeah you were thriving and glowing the next day yeah it was could we do a game where i say a member of the vanderpump cast and you say if you were designing a sandwich that was named after them like what you would put in it yeah because I yeah okay but the Lala like what would be in the Lala sandwich Lala it would be like it would have to be something spicy for sure
Starting point is 01:16:59 so it would have peppers in it I have to have to be very, something pretty. So lots of color. So peppers and tomatoes and lots of greens. I feel like Lala gives me like wrap energy. Like put her in a wrap. Maybe we put her in a wrap too. Yeah. With a pepper. Yeah. With a lot of the greens and the colors.
Starting point is 01:17:18 Yeah. I like that for Lala. Yeah, she does give me wrap energy. All right, Sandoval. He's just like a dry. It's a real messy, sloppy. Sardines. You can't really eat it.
Starting point is 01:17:30 It falls apart. It's just falling apart. That's true. I like that part. Yeah, there's nothing on the inside because it's kind of heartless. Yeah. You're like, what?
Starting point is 01:17:42 Is this even a sandwich? The James. I keep wanting to say like he's like some kind of like English little tea sandwich or something. Like on an English muffin? Yeah, like just like a little tea sandwich even. Yeah. Oh, like with a cucumber. A bunch of little guys just all together.
Starting point is 01:17:59 Like a little like display of them. On one of those like multi-tiered. Even though it's like not James, there's just something about that it just makes me want to it's the english thing but it's also like just i don't know i have one for rachel okay unless you do i know i don't even want to think about it it's it's a peanut butterena it just be it just be one of the sandwiches where you bite into it and everything falls out the other end because you can't trust it like a meatball sub this is your chance to be nice well that's what i mean it's like you try to bite it and then you try to only go the other end it's just like it's just yeah but it would
Starting point is 01:18:45 be a meatball sub then i guess it's one of those it's also a little bit messy what about lisa like a really fancy like brie and like big gem sandwich with like pears on it just like it's just like the most expensive cheese and the most like it's. Like gold flakes. Yeah. Sprinkle the sauce. It just is like, yeah. The Schwartz. Like grilled cheese. Just like. Everyone loves it.
Starting point is 01:19:15 Super reliable. Everyone, yeah. Yeah. But it's also like, it's like on the kid's menu. The Ariana. I know this is one of her favorites, but i kind of like it because it's like this should like a smoked salmon sandwich because it's like it's a bit of like a refined taste you know like not it's not like maybe you know i don't know there's just something like sort of like
Starting point is 01:19:36 classic and regal about it at the same time with the capers and like cream cheese and you know i don't know yeah now i'm hungry yeah and then finally the katie i'm a spicy italian because i am a spicy italian she knows herself we love that what did you think of uh sandoval saying hindsight's 2020 and kind of giving it is what it is kind of response to regret over his decisions. Like his lame platitudes, I don't know. Like it's like, that's it? Yeah. Like hindsight's 20-20.
Starting point is 01:20:12 It's like, well, no shit, but like, can you give a little bit more to that insight? Yeah. Perhaps like. It comes across as very like, like, I'm sorry, I guess. Water under the bridge. Sorry, I guess. I mean, I, people are mad at me. It's like, that's the thing.
Starting point is 01:20:26 It's just like, he's only, it's like the definition of I'm only sorry because I got caught or I'm only sorry because this is an inconvenience for me. It's just like, but what am I going to do? Can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. Yeah. Going to cry over spilled milk. It's like one of those things where it's like. Is he still performing in that band of his? his yeah they're like planning a whole ass tour and i'm like like who is going
Starting point is 01:20:52 to that i mean i know people like out of morbid curiosity perhaps but it's like we're going to see if like who's gonna be there just to like look around but it's like the answer's i mean i i don't understand it because i don't know if it's my catholic upbringing but i have the ability to feel shame and ever since i've been in the reality tv space there are certain opportunities that we are given that i cringe at or i feel like i can't do that i'll i'll hate myself and But I'll never underestimate, especially for men in the reality TV space, their willingness to show up at a bar to have 10 to 15 fans treat them like a rock star. I find it to be a very embarrassing moment for myself.
Starting point is 01:21:40 The few times I've been involved, I just get self-conscious and I'm like, this is weird and creepy. But I have seen far too many bachelor guys or other reality TV stars like truly thrive and love the experience. So like, it just seems to me like Sandoval is one of those guys who will never get enough of being, you know, quote unquote, you know, walk into some townie bar or ever and be treated like a rock star. Well, that's- Even if it's 10 people.
Starting point is 01:22:08 That's the difference between having a healthy ego and having a very unhealthy one. My issue with the band started because it just seemed like the worst timing of it all. It's like him and Schwartz are, not even at the beginning, but they're already well into planning this bar. And it's like they're behind on every time, you know, frame that they've already set forth.
Starting point is 01:22:30 And he's like, I think I'm going to start this band and I'm going to have practices and then I'm going to go on tour. And it's like Schwartz is just sitting there like, OK, sure. And I'm like, I would lose my mind. Why doesn't he say something? Well, I mean, all the people who are loaning Sandoval, what, a quarter of a, how do you borrow that much money from people and then not do everything in your power
Starting point is 01:22:54 to pay them back as soon as possible? And then turn around and spend how much money on a practice space and then paying nine people in a band. It's just not cheap. Priorities, they're non-existent in a band. Which is not cheap. Priorities? Non-existent, I guess. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:23:09 Priority is Tom. Always been. Always will be. And yeah, so as someone who's never really or hasn't gotten along with Tom before, it's almost like you're like sadly, turns out like you were right all along. Even at the sad and unfortunate expense of your friend
Starting point is 01:23:28 well correct yeah i'm never wrong no no but i mean like no my my i feel like i get good read of character and i have good judgment of character when it comes to people and I think some people think I'm just being judgy or a bitch or like you just don't like anyone or you know but it's like no that's not that's not where this is coming from it's coming from like my gut intuition on this person is not great
Starting point is 01:23:57 so do with what do with that what you want but like at the end of the day when eventually reveals itself you know you're gonna have to look at me and be like, you were right. Yeah. Especially in LA, this LA,
Starting point is 01:24:08 this, this, this city is filled with people that get by on being charming and nice when it's convenient for them. And then people will see that as they'll take that as loyalty and they'll take that as, you know, friendship.
Starting point is 01:24:24 And then as soon as things get a little inconvenient for them it's obvious yeah and I'm with you you know it's easy to see through that stuff but people have a hard time well they didn't mean it like that
Starting point is 01:24:39 or it's like a you know no they fucking did they absolutely meant it like that and they don't care no you well that's why i well i mean i don't i have more than a few friends but like that's why when when certain people come around they're just like oh well yeah katie she's just kind of a bitch or you know i'm like that's not it you're shady that why. Do you feel like you've been able to, I guess, like having been on the show for so long, like I'm sure you've developed like pretty thick skin when it comes to like knowing that the way you are portrayed on screen is like not indicative of who you are as a person. Would you say there's anything that's like come up for you
Starting point is 01:25:19 where you find yourself really wanting to like defend yourself or add context or just like ways that you feel a little bit misrepresented on screen that like kind of irk you yeah i mean i feel like that has happened throughout the years like so many times but i mean that's just gonna be non-stop because there's gonna be so many different and differing opinions um depending on who you're gonna talk to but like like, when you are in shows like this, they do kind of make us all like sort of one note or like very just like this is, you know, and- You get siloed.
Starting point is 01:25:54 Yeah, and that's just like not who we are in general as like people and humans, you know, we have just like so many different, you know, layers to us. Like as much as I love to like advocate for myself in real life i cannot do that online to like convince mary in iowa that that's not like really what happened and this is what i did like it's a full-time job i also in real life too i i've kind of i'm fine with like not being for everyone in general too like it's it's way easier that way too like i
Starting point is 01:26:22 don't care what people think of you is none of't care it is none of my business i don't i mean it's not it doesn't mean it doesn't like like feel good all the time to see or read those things but it's just like i've gone my majority of my life not having those people's opinions and i've done just fine so like the only people's opinions that matter to me are the people that i value and i you know and those are the people closest to me and they know me you know so when i so when i fuck up or i'm doing something that is harmful or that they don't you know think i should be doing they'll tell me and be honest with me and then i'll listen but other than that like if i'm being misrepresented in a scene that you know sort of cut down a little bit i i can't explain the
Starting point is 01:27:06 it's like take your battles yeah it's not worth it split hairs all day long so yeah do you think there's any chance of redemption for rachel no because she would not know where to start at all i just i think that girl again I said, she lacks a moral conscious. She lacks empathy. She doesn't have a soul. She's like a droid. Again, the fact that I sat across from her, my mom sat across from her and told her that and she's just kind of like, hmm, and did it anyway.
Starting point is 01:27:39 It's just like- Yeah, that whole thing when she did the, hmm, I'm so sorry. Yeah. yeah that whole thing when she did the yeah it's just those people don't care do you think her panic attack was fake or just self-indulgent i don't think it was fake i think she was like really hung over she was having like anxiety mostly oh and also but she definitely remembered when the next day when she was like pretended to not remember how she was acting with lala she's like but like i think i said something to you but i don't remember what i was saying but i remember exactly when i heard you talking to me like oh my god about the stupid lights oh my god first of all it's like not that deep like we we didn't know that she travels with the Cosmo projector lights, which listen,
Starting point is 01:28:30 there's nothing wrong with those. I think everyone at one point had those, especially during the pandemic. Or when they were 12. Yeah. Or when they were 12. I don't know. Like I remember like I for like a week was like, this is really cool. I put it in my bathroom when I take a bath and I was like, all right, that was fun for
Starting point is 01:28:42 a minute. However, you want to self-suit to make yourself fall asleep. Like that is bad. But like, like again when Christina went to go get my toothbrush my toiletry bag she was not expecting to walk in she was thought Raquel was going to be in bed asleep she was not expecting to walk into the fucking Sahara tent at Coachella with like EDM music and the light projector so she came back she was like that was so weird I was not expecting that we're like what is happening so she's describing the scene to us it's four o'clock in the morning we're like just laughing because it's just it just sounds hilarious we didn't know that she was listening
Starting point is 01:29:12 outside the door and that it was going to be the most upsetting thing that's ever happened to her but again like we weren't making fun of her or to her face it was just like it was just a funny like situation i thought it was. Yeah. Was it a catty moment? Perhaps. But I think, I don't know for her to really ride that one and go back and be like, that was bullying. No, it wasn't. If you've ever been bullied, you know the difference when someone comes up to you unprovoked and barks in your face and says you're a dog when you're just trying to get to class that's bullying not not someone in a in a hotel room down the hall from you saying like a projector light what well technically like bullying like you didn't even think she was listening you were talking behind her back
Starting point is 01:29:58 yeah like a normal person like it's a whole nother thing but yeah you're right technically not bullying it was like being you have to do something i don't know it's it's a whole nother thing, but yeah, you're right. Technically not bullying. You have to do something, I don't know the proper definition, but I feel like you have to do it in their face. It is like unprovoked to somebody who is like you deem of lesser power than you. That's by definition. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:30:15 People throw around bullying a lot and I'm like, well. People throw around a lot of words now. Just because I can be bitchier or meaner to somebody when I'm reacting to some behavior doesn't't make me a bully it makes me just bitchier not your friend not your friend yeah like i don't know if you're gonna be an asshole and i think you're being an asshole i'm gonna let you know and it's not gonna be nice but like maybe don't fuck with me what do you think an interview with rachel would be like oh painful painful is it worth our time no we try
Starting point is 01:30:47 it's she it's very like rehearsed with her and it comes across very rehearsed like it's she there's no her like even with her voice there's no like inflection and like her like it's it sometimes it's like it's hard to listen to her because she it sounds like she's memorized and rehearsed things and it she doesn't believe what she's saying because she doesn't she there's no real like emotion or anything behind it all you're just kind of it's hard to follow it because and it's going to be a real tragic ending because regardless i mean you know maybe she stays on the show for a while who knows but i don't't see any social media campaigns coming her way. I mean, she literally, she was shown. She had the opposite of a social brand deal.
Starting point is 01:31:30 She had a brand renouncer. Yeah. What was the, what's her? It was a bag. The suitcase company. It was like base. It's like, yeah. It's a, what's her name's company?
Starting point is 01:31:40 Shea Mitchell. Shea Mitchell's suitcase company. And they were like. We provide the bag, not the baggage. Please stop using our shit. Like, that's not a good look. Shay Mitchell's suitcase company and they were like we provide the bag not the baggage please stop using our shit that's not a good look yeah
Starting point is 01:31:50 they sent Ariana the whole collection that's awesome do you know who this is does this person ring a bell on the screen is that outside your apartment were they filming this was at like 7pm.m. on Wednesday. I walk up.
Starting point is 01:32:07 I was walking Kiki. And there was two vans of production, like a PA by the front door letting people in. And they filmed there before. Like I've seen production people like on our floor coming into our building. And then I went out to my patio to send them a photo of the production vans. And then this SUV pulls up and this guy comes out the driver and lets this woman in and so I snapped a photo of her and I was like who is this woman she clearly is part of this process
Starting point is 01:32:30 this person her sister like typically has curly hair so I mean like not that she couldn't have straightened it but like Rachel's sister it looks a little curly yeah like blown out and curled maybe her sister's coming over for some counseling me I mean,
Starting point is 01:32:45 I'm just wondering who would be coming to her place to like... Dressed in a power suit. Yeah, and like with a driver. Yeah. Because like Uber Black,
Starting point is 01:32:54 I don't feel like they'd open the door that way. Well, that's definitely a different hairstyle. She could have straightened it. Yeah, like sometimes
Starting point is 01:33:02 it's like a little like less. But that very much could, that definitely could be her. Yeah. I think it's like a little like less but that very much could that definitely could be her yeah i think it's raquel's sister interesting that she has the car what does she do because i've seen raquel just jump in a normal uber outside of our apartment so clearly the sister's got car service going on no well might be like production but aren't like basically paparazzi hanging out like living outside their houses right now yeah i mean so like as far as like the tms ego i mean if she did it's not totally unlikely that she called that one that the nail salon but listen
Starting point is 01:33:36 the one there's one guy in particular he knows where we all live and like when when tom and i for instance announced our divorce there was like for a week straight, he would just sit outside of our place. And when I'd leave, he would follow. So they know where you live. They'll just wait and follow you. Yeah. You don't have to call. You don't have to call.
Starting point is 01:33:55 You don't have to call. If they know where you live, they can wait till you leave and then follow you and then take pictures of you where you are. Because it seems like in some of these interviews, it seems like some of the cast are saying more than they're even supposed to because i feel like production wouldn't want them to and they're kind of acting like oh i can't help it because there's a camera in my face oh my well that's just stupid because it's you can absolutely say no comment do you know these people are used to it all the time all the time i'm always like oh sorry i'm really
Starting point is 01:34:23 busy and then i like start like running to my car or something. Oh, man, I'm so sorry. I just have to go. I get so awkward. I'm like, hey, I don't know. I just laugh. I don't know. I get so awkward.
Starting point is 01:34:33 Yeah. So they want to talk. I don't know. Well, then there's Tom, who's just too nice of a person that can't be mean to a stranger. And he's like, how are you doing? Well, what do you think? He's like, he's now interviewing the guy. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:34:46 he does. Yeah. Stop. You can say no comment. That's an option. No, I don't know. I was tired.
Starting point is 01:34:54 I was really tired from the drive. I'm like, when I'm really tired, I can barely figure out like simple words like the, and you pulled out auspicious. That's. And when I'm really tired, I you pulled out auspicious. That's. And when I'm really tired, I am not pleasant.
Starting point is 01:35:07 Yeah. I look forward to my chat with Tom Swartz. I think you should get him. You putting a good word for me? Sure. I think I'm going to see him later today when I get my dogs. I'll hit him up.
Starting point is 01:35:20 I'm going to be honest. I've been a little hard on you. I just want to be upfront, but I'd love to. Hey man, it's all good. I understand. I understand. What do you think, bro?
Starting point is 01:35:29 I mean, listen, I'd love getting the other side. I'd love in a perfect world to push him a little bit and then have some accountability happen on this couch where there's some recognition of maybe the lik know, doesn't want to offend anyone guy actually is a, is a hurtful thing to the people you claim to care most about, you know, because it's like, if you're trying to make everyone happy, you can make no one happy and it's great on the playground, but you know, in the real world, it can be rather hurtful. And I think it's important to understand how people justify it to themselves.
Starting point is 01:36:10 Like, I think so often we're like, well, I don't want to ask you why you did this because you shouldn't have done it in the first place. And it feels like being sympathetic, but in understanding what the thought process is, I feel like is the first step in actually understanding how anybody would ever go about like debunking that or like changing their mind. Yeah. Well, especially if they themselves have not done any kind of real work, you know, introspective work. And like I've been trying to figure that out for a long time, to be honest. Yeah. Yeah. Because I imagine it's something that was like just you were constantly on the receiving end of and like in proximity to.
Starting point is 01:36:47 And it must have been so confusing having someone who like on one hand is so close to you and loves you so dearly. And then on the other hand, like there's these very simple, basic things that he can't provide. Yeah. And I thought like these are fundamental things like spend come want to come home at night. Just not let your friend pick me apart especially in public you know like just i don't know this that i mean it just at times where he just wouldn't have your back at times it was like all the time i mean i wasn't there he's like well yeah no i like it was like it was frequent and all the time and And yeah. So he was playing devil's advocate in lieu of having your back. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:30 Yeah. And it didn't matter. It didn't matter how right I was or how wrong I was. It just, it didn't matter. It didn't matter who it was against or not against. It didn't matter the situation. It was just like, if I was involved, he was against me. So it was almost like if i was involved he was against me so it was almost like the opposite of like having your partner's back it was like any any frustration
Starting point is 01:37:49 he had with you maybe in the relationship when someone else disagree with you he it was almost like his way of saying see i'm not alone in my frustrations towards you but yeah kind of yeah like you stab her in the front i'll stab her in the back like we'll tag team it. Yeah, well, I don't even know if it was that deliberate. It was just more like when you're in a relationship, it's not uncommon to get frustrated with your partner. But rather than dealing with it, he would, and anyone else who would have an issue with you, Katie, he would validate his frustrations through the frustrations of others
Starting point is 01:38:24 instead of having your back. Yeah. Yeah, but again, like, if it was frustration, they were, like, bottled up. I don't know what it was, but, I mean, I worked really hard to work through my own issues of, like, getting over, you know, infidelity and transgressions and trying to, you know, work to trust and all of that.
Starting point is 01:38:42 Like, I was dealing with a lot, too. I would ride so hard for him and have his back and defend him and even defend his bad behavior as means of justification for reasons to stay with this man. So his whatever resentment that he had. Just again,
Starting point is 01:38:58 I was constantly like, what is this? So that's why we're not together anymore. Just makes so much more sense after watching this season. Yep. Katie, it's always fun chatting with you. Thank you for having me. Thanks so much for coming.
