What's going on everybody?
Welcome back to an explosive episode of the Vilephile going deeper edition.
I'm your host Nick joined by the household. We have scooters. I'm your host, Nick. Joined by the household, we have Scooter.
I finally remember to say Scooter now.
She's not here.
Well, she's in the other room.
We got Ally, we got Sierra,
we got sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet boy Justin.
We have Natalie Joann.
It's typically love of my life, father.
Love of my life, mother of my child.
And with us, my friend, the rock star, the queen,
our friend, friend of show.
There it is.
Jojo Siwa!
Yes!
The crowd goes wild.
Jojo's with us to help kick off this episode.
So excited.
Talk about her new music.
We also have Daisy Kent with us in this episode. It's Daisy's big
episode, her big VioFiles premiere. We were very excited to have her. Turns out she was
excited to be with us. We'll get into that in a little bit. What's going on, household?
What's going on? What's new? What's cracking? Anything we need to get into before we get
into JoJo? Get into JoJo, that sounds...
Take it back.
Reverse that.
Flip it and reverse it. Jojo. Get into Jojo, that sounds... Ah, take it back. Reverse that.
Flip it and reverse it.
Taylor Swift's going to Coachella?
She is?
To see Lana Del Rey?
That's who we want to see.
That's literally why we're going.
You guys are going to Coachella?
We're taking the Vow Files.
May the force be with you.
We're taking the Vow Files on the road to Coachella.
Vow Files on the road.
Yeah, Vow Files on the road.
It's a working weekend, but if we do go to the festival, we'll be...
Never mind Coachella.
Yeah, we gotta talk to you about that.
No, we're bringing my mom out.
Oh yeah. So why? on the road to Coachella. Vout falls on the road. Yeah, Vout falls on the road. We're on the road. It's a working weekend, but if we do go to the festival,
Never mind Coachella.
Yeah, we gotta talk to you about that.
No, we're bringing my mom out.
Oh yeah.
So you watch.
Yeah, mom's coming out the babies.
Yeah, we're nuts.
I love it.
We're not crazy.
Putting her in a backpack.
If your mom doesn't want the dogs, I'll take them.
The child will not be at the festival.
Wait, actually.
Maybe.
The dogs.
I'm trying to convince Nick and Natalie
to let me take Steve.
Natalie.
And Steve is so rotten, so bad, so terrible
on the dog right now that I'm like JoJo, please.
Steve's balls drop.
Like we've been busy with Childs.
So like he was supposed to get neutered at like six months.
He's getting neutered next week.
Oh, that'll hold up.
And he's been really bad lately.
Yep. So bad.
And every day, Natalie's like, fucking Steve.
And I'm like, she's like, well, you gotta punish him.
I'm like, we're literally cutting off his balls balls next week I don't know if there could be a
more severe punishment that's awful we are putting him under the knife under
the knife just snip snip snip imagine just cut off his balls
we also had to shave him because turns out Steve's glowing hair does need to be
rushed more than we realized yeah like recently you had to shave him because turns out Steve's glowing hair does need to be rushed more than we realized
Yeah, like recently you had to shave him. Yeah, it actually fits his personality. Oh, yeah. All you see is his balls now. It's just
Wait, so he's skinless or not skinless
Just good. He's short. It actually fits his personality. It looks good on him. Yeah better than Jeff does with short hair Yeah, that's true. Nick is getting absolutely flamed on tik-tok right now
Why?
Because he posted a video with River talking about
how great it is to be a dad
and how if anyone's out there on the fence.
I'm really worried about our society.
And it seems like for all the relationship
we did in talk, we do.
A lot of people are just giving up.
It's just like, you know what?
All the young men seem to be playing video games,
fucking dolls, women are just like, men fucking suck.
And I'm just here to say,
in case you haven't given up, give it a shot.
I thought I'd get flamed for that.
People being like, shut up,
you've only been a dad for a day.
Kids are hard and turns out I'm just ugly.
No, everyone's like, oh my God, he looks so tired.
Oh my, he looks so different.
He's so tired.
And it's like, he's holding his newborn child.
Like no fucking shit. He's tired.
We're not sleeping.
And also catching the 3 a.m. shifts.
I'm like, everybody like pipe down.
Yeah.
It's pretty bizarre.
Do I look different?
No.
I think it was the pink shirt, to be fair.
Like color matching.
I think like pink brings out like dark circles.
Oh.
Sassy.
Say more, Justin.
Anyway.
Say more and you're fucking fired. That's not what I was saying. Are you saying I can't wear pink? I like, sassy. Say more, Justin. Anyway. Say more and you're fucking fired.
That's not what I was saying.
Are you saying I can't wear pink?
I like, I've always...
I think it's a good color, but I think when we have lighter skin complexions,
like I think that's what people were pulling out of him.
Weak.
I do too, I do too.
Can I hire you as also like my stylist?
To dress me every morning?
I'll dress you.
He's like, hmm, no, no, that's giving you a unibrow. No.
I thought it was a cute message to be fair though.
His TikTok?
Yeah.
I swiped up.
I was like, oh.
Oh, I thought you were saying the fans.
No, yeah.
No, yeah, that was bizarre.
Well, anyways, do you think we won't?
Do you think we'll see Taylor and Travis?
There's no way they're gonna be roaming the grounds.
They're gonna be back fucking stage.
Yeah.
There's no way.
I was like, no.
There's a lot, I was like, no.
There's a lot, I mean, you know,
Leo always shows up at Coachella in a hoodie and sunglasses.
They're like, you're at the right place
in the right time it could happen.
Maybe.
Somebody there will see her.
1000%.
That's true.
I also feel like she's becoming more comfortable
like going on the field after his games
and like going to the Super Bowl party with him.
Like they've been in like big crowded areas.
And you know what?
Travis Kelsey is six five, 250 pounds full of muscle.
Well, did you see the clip of her after the Super Bowl?
Cause her security is always with her
and there's a clip of her holding his hand
and she goes, don't bother.
And then points to him.
Oh, that's so hot.
Hot, yeah.
God, I usually say that.
I always feel safe with Nellie by my side.
What?
Such a good bodyguard.
Okay, because I'm a big fat bitch apparently.
Goddamn.
It's an episode of Roastin'.
Geez.
I got my big gruff, my big fiance over here.
My big meaty, my big meaty fiance. My big meaty fiance.
That's not meaty.
Yikes.
Now,
I see how you took it that way.
In the first
weekend that we, what are the first weekends
that's like maybe we had known each other
for a month. We had met in New York, we went back to New
York, we were with our friends Shirley and Andy, we were in the line
at Pizza Man.
Was it Pizza Man?
No.
Prince Street Pizza.
Pizza Man's that place in Milwaukee.
For all you Milwaukeeans out there.
And we're in line.
It's like 11 o'clock at night
and some girl in the front of the line turns to me
and she goes, are you Nick Viall?
And I'm like, yeah.
She's like, you have a podcast, right?
And this is like, the podcast was popping,
not popping like it was, but it was doing fine.
This was in 2019. This was like 2019, but it was doing fine. But like-
This was in 2019.
This was like 2019, it just started.
2020? No, 2020.
I don't think there was a child
that could do that.
She looks at me and she goes,
yeah, people like your podcast.
I don't.
But a lot of people do.
And then she like started talking shit.
Meanwhile, I barely know Nellie.
Nellie was like wanting to pick a fight with this chick.
And I was kind of turned on
because it was like, don't bother, leave it alone.
And she was like, lioness energy.
Ready to throw down.
On the other hand, Nick literally won't even speak to me.
And I'm like, I'll fight for him.
I will fucking kill a bitch for him.
And he's like, I'm not interested in you at all.
I'm like, I'll go to prison for you.
He's like, but look at you now.
I know, look at me now. Anyways. I will say, and now you're a's like, but look at you now. I know. Look at me now.
Anyways.
I will say, and now you're a mother,
so you're even scarier.
You have like the force.
Yeah, I've been raging for months.
Maybe not that, but.
I am man enough to say you make me feel safe by my side.
Well, thank God.
You and Travis Kelsey have picked out
your future baby names.
He also has?
He also has and his are Eddie, Freddie and Teddy.
So I feel like you have got to figure something out.
Shit, we got to change it up.
You've got to figure something out.
All right, where's Eddie, Freddie and Teddy?
Yeah, Freddie, Eddie and Teddy, yeah.
Freddie, Eddie, I'm sorry, Freddie's first.
Yeah.
Jojo, are you going to break the news to Nick
that Tyler gets a name and he doesn't?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I heard that and I go-
You have to expose me like that.
My best friend Tyler and I go, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no charming. He's just more likeable than I am. I'm like, I'm the friend you need, not the friend you want. I get it. That's fine.
You are the friend I need and want.
No, it's fine.
You quite literally are the reason my feet are attached to my body still from special
forces.
Yep. No, but you're the one who carried Tom Sandow.
I did. Carried him for miles and miles while you wept.
You know what? I'm going to let you have that because it's been really hard on you lately.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Let me have one win.
Can we talk about your music career?
First of all, I just want to say congratulations.
Thank you.
I think what you're doing is awesome.
You're putting yourself out there.
You're taking big risks, big swings.
You're going for it.
You've been a child star your entire life.
Fuck.
I mean, ever recently we are learning more and more,
sadly, unfortunately, just how difficult it is
for many child stars in the LA space.
And I said this to you when I after getting to know you
and becoming friends with you,
and I remember saying to you,
like you have a million reasons not to be okay,
but not to be normal, to kind of be fucked up,
to be this kind of out of touch star.
And yet, you're like so cool, down to earth,
hard working, you're a good person,
you have great character, you're good at your core.
I don't know if people recognize that enough about you,
I just, I felt as your friend, I need to say that.
No, that means so much, especially because you know me.
You know what I mean?
You know me on a surface level.
You see my life publicly,
but then you also know me very personally.
And so that means so much.
And I say it with all the child star stuff coming out
right now, I'm very lucky that my hardships
were my hardships because a lot of child stars
had it way worse.
But it still, I mean, it's just a whack.
It's a whack life.
But we made it and now we're in the adult world.
And you're making moves.
I feel like a lot of people don't realize
that you have never had a normal life.
Never.
I mean, you were on Dance Moms.
Nine.
Nine, yes, it's been 11 years.
And even before that, I was in the competitive dance world,
which is also not a normal life, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
So crazy.
So you are, this is fully your,
as you even refer to your Miley Cyrus moment.
Yeah, this is my, this is my,
let's turn some heads moment.
Let's go, someone used the word,
I didn't come up with it,
but somebody used the word unrestrained.
And I really, really liked that word
to explain what I'm doing right now.
My biggest thing is I just wanted to make something
that made people quite literally go, what the fuck?
You know what I mean?
Turn their head, be like, have to talk about it.
Mission accomplished.
Well, what's really scary is mission accomplished
with the song out, the video has not seen
the light of day yet.
And the video, that is the head turner.
Oh, that's crazy.
And so I'm like, shit!
How do, I mean, you're just gonna go up.
How many chicks are you making out with in the video?
Two.
You didn't expect that, did you?
No, I mean, I've seen clipped videos.
Yeah, teasers, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, it's definitely, I do some good, bad things in it,
but it tells a story and I really wanted it to.
No one nowadays makes major music videos
like Gaga did back in the day, Britney did back in the day.
And so that for me is a massive thing
and it's not funded by anybody,
it's not funded by label or brands,
it's funded by myself,
because no one wants to put money into them nowadays,
because they just aren't what the thing is.
You know what I mean?
Like you can, apparently it's more valuable to like sing
your song on TikTok and get that view.
But I'm like, no, I want to, I want to visual.
That's the kind of artist I want to be.
And so I fought for it, I paid for it.
And I'm really happy with it.
What were you hoping?
I mean, obviously, other than shock value and turning heads,
what were you hoping to accomplish with this new JoJo Siwa?
Honestly, the shock value and the head turn is the number one thing.
I definitely want to be taken seriously, but I kind of realized that no matter what I do, no one's going to take it seriously.
People are like, you're not an adult because you're wearing rhinestones still.
Okay, name one pop star that doesn't fucking wear rhinestones.
I'll wait.
Like, find me one.
Boy or girl.
And then someone today just being a dick about my speech impediment that I had when I was
a kid.
And I was like, y'all really just like, people just take things too seriously.
You know what I mean?
But they're also like,
they're coming at you when you were a child.
So it's like how there's nothing else
for them to comment on.
I literally, I was like,
if the worst part of your day is something that I did
or a song that I sang, you're so welcome.
Yeah, like the worst thing that you did to this person
was have a speech impediment at nine years old.
Like, oh my god.
Like none of us can fucking talk at nine.
I still can't.
Yeah, that's really.
You know, so.
No, that's like, that's what I tell myself though,
is just like, okay, you need to find it,
go touch some grass.
I remember.
Beat it.
I'm too old to like have been a fan of Hannah Montana
and that whole situation.
You watched Hannah Montana and that whole situation.
You watched Hannah Montana, right?
Oh my God, yeah.
But I do remember Wrecking Ball, you know?
And I remember, like, I see Miley Cyrus now,
the big star that she is, and this, I guess,
a question for you and anyone who followed her career,
but when she turned into the Miley Cyrus we know today,
and even then, I mean, I think she's kind of
also matured and balanced things out, but when she even then, I mean, I think she's kind of also matured
and balanced things out.
But when she came on, it was,
but didn't she like show up negative
at the VMAs or some crazy shit?
She was censored at the VMAs.
Yeah, I mean, she went hard to the paint.
How was that received?
I'm assuming with a lot of hate and criticism.
Now people are like, I loved when she did that,
but when it happened, people hated it.
I loved it.
I literally, because ever from the time I was two,
I was saying I wanna be Hannah Montana.
And then when I was eight, I said,
I wanna do what she did with bangers.
Like I looked at Miley's career and like truly idolized her,
but people are forgetting that they hated it
back in the day.
And like the world is just scared of new, scared of art.
People don't like change.
People don't like change, they don't.
And I think for me, I'm just like,
I'm not afraid to make art,
I'm not afraid to give you change,
I'm not afraid to make you question,
you know what I mean?
Like, let's have fun with it.
What was the response of your family, your team,
when you brought them this idea?
What was your response of your family, your team, when you brought them this idea?
So I brought this idea in a 160 page doc.
Oh boy.
Of my- Excuse me?
Yeah.
She's like.
Me?
Yeah.
I have, cause I have about 20, 28 songs done in the bank.
Ready to go.
And so I, in December of 2022 sat down and I was like,
I am making the plan because I don't want anyone to make it for me. I want to look at
my songs. I want to look at what I want them to come out. I want to choreograph what video
I want in my head for what song, what era, what chapter, what makes sense. And so I structured
it all out, made my 160 page doc and I pitched it to everybody, I pitched it to my team,
and everyone was like, yes, slow down.
And I was like, okay.
But when we're ready for the plan, it's right here.
And then come December, 2023 is when we filmed Karma.
And that was in my massive ass doc
that was scheduled to be first, number one.
Big, big, big ass video.
I will say everyone was very curious as
to why I wanted to make such a big video because it's just people don't anymore.
But for me it's the people that I idolize and the people that I want to be
like as an artist they did and everyone fought me on it and they're like they
just don't do it anymore and I was like like, well, at some point, lady,
someone had to be the first. You know what I mean?
And so I think for me, that was kind of my like,
my phone call started really nice.
Then this is now for a new project,
but same world, same thing with a music video.
Why do you want to do a music video for a second song?
Started really nice.
Finally an hour into the conversation,
I was like, okay, here's the thing.
I am filming a music video on this day.
If you wanna come, you are more than welcome
to be there on set.
If you don't, I'll see you the next day.
Like no stress, no.
And then once, you guys know, I mean,
once you put your foot down on something,
your team has to be like, okay, you know what I mean?
You are a foot in the bell too, so.
That part.
And that's why I said, I said,
if I wasn't paying for it or funding it, I wouldn't care.
But because I am, I'm gonna make it exactly.
Did you reach out to Miley or any other rock stars in this space that
tried to do what you're trying to do?
I've talked to a lot of people.
Shocking that she even looks at her fucking DMs, but Ariana Grande has been so supportive.
So nice, so supportive.
Demi Lovato has been incredibly supportive.
Miley has been incredibly supportive.
What was the best advice you got from any one of those three?
Honestly, I think back to it,
and I talked to Demi about it a very long time ago,
and Demi told me that it's gonna be harder than I think. And I was like,
she was right. I was like, oh shit, oh shit. Okay. But, um, yeah, right. I mean, just keeping
real. The internet is coming brutal at you. Yeah, hard. They are. We got fucking,
fucking tick tockers who James Charles. James Charles is talking some shit.
James texted me yesterday.
This fucker, like yeah, he texted you?
No, he texts, he texts.
After he mocked you?
So he texted me and he was like,
do you care if I post this?
Oh, okay.
And he was like, do you care if I make a dance video
to Karma?
And I was like, please do.
I was like, go in, like poke fun, get the deal.
Well, here's the thing.
Well, good for him for calling, I guess,
asking permission.
Yeah. Did, who was the other one? Tana Mongeau. I mean, she just a thing. Well, good for him for calling, I guess, and asking preparation. Yeah. Did, uh, who was the other one?
Tana Mongeau.
I mean, she just did like, yeah.
I mean, here's the thing about Tana.
Tana, I've loved Tana since I was 13, 12.
And where I'm confused with Tana is I have been not friends with her, but we have
been close,
like homies. I did her podcast and it was like,
we were talking about having a fun night,
you know what I mean?
Like, so for her to go do all that shit,
because she was mocking, you know what I mean?
So I actually texted her.
I just sent her her own video and I said, LOL.
And she just responded, ha ha ha ha ha.
But I was like. You just said, LOL? I think that's what I said, LOL. And she just responded, ha ha ha ha ha. But I was like.
You just said LOL?
I think that's what I said, let me see.
You didn't say what the fuck, biatch?
I think it's just JoJo being like,
like I saw this.
Yeah.
It's cocked, bitch.
Oh, I said, I said.
But her being ha ha ha ha ha.
I said first question, no, second question, yes.
Ha ha ha, she respond ha ha ha.
But the thing is.
It's like a dick Tana, Moja.
I saw Tana tomorrow, like Tana, like Tana what's up?
Yeah.
But then to do that I'm like wait.
It's just to get the views.
That's why I appreciate that James reached out being like
hey do you care if I.
But you don't, why do you?
Well for me I mean look.
If you had it, I mean it does promote promote your song James Charles does have a massive platform
Yeah, I mean press is press and I get it
But at some point it might like you're putting your heart and your soul in this you're literally paying for it doesn't it like it?
It hurts it fucking burns it burns
Yesterday nope not yesterday day before day before I was pretty upset about it.
And then yesterday I was fine all day.
And then this morning I was kind of a little again like in a wah-wah head space.
But I think that's just where I'm at physically right now.
I'm just like, keep it pushing.
But then I looked online and TMZ asked Gene Simmons what he thought of me.
And he gave a fucking gnarly response,
coming to my defense, supporting me, saying that
people are hating because it's not ordinary,
but I am extraordinary and that is what.
Love it.
So it's like, as dick as people have been,
Gene fucking Simmons.
Iconic.
Like that's crazy. That's crazy, you know what I mean? And he is right. Iconic. Like that's crazy. Yeah.
That's crazy.
You know what I mean?
And he is right.
I mean, you are right.
People fear change.
People aren't creative or interesting enough to-
Ballsy enough.
Or to come up with something original,
like mocking someone that's lazy.
It's not even comedy.
It's just lazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But you know-
At the end of the day-
But they are talking about it.
My song has gained so many creates daily on TikTok.
The song charted before it's out. That doesn't happen.
Like there's so, there's so many goods.
The pre-save number is gnarly apparently.
I can't complain. I knew that I was asking for this.
I honestly, I think that I didn't think
it was gonna be as successful as it is.
I knew people were gonna hate on it.
I mean, that's been my whole life.
No matter what I've done since I was nine,
people have been dickweeds to me.
Why do you think that is?
Honestly, I think I was fun to hate.
I think I was easy.
I was an easy target.
There was a lot that you could say,
and I would feed it.
If people said I was loud, I'd get louder. If people said I was loud, I'd get louder.
If people said I was annoying, I'd get more annoying.
If people said, oh, your bow's too big, I'd wear it too.
You know what I mean?
I knew from a very young age how to mark it
off of that type of commentary.
And so I think that just kind of faded as I got older.
People when I turned like 18, 19 were super nice to me.
Then once I turned 20 again, they went back to being dicks.
And I don't know, I think 16 year old me,
I'm like, damn, you really, really grew some tough skin
for me now, because like, it's not easy.
I did that video where my gas started like flying out
of my car and I was not set up.
The original caption was supposed to be like,
my head 24 seven with this song in it.
And then all of a sudden the gas starts flying out.
And like, comments are funny, right?
But someone telling me to light a cigarette right there
and see what happens, like, that's not funny.
That's fucked up.
You know what I mean?
And so I'm grateful this is gonna sound ass-backwards.
I'm grateful that it's me getting that hit.
Because there's a lot of people that could not handle that.
That could not handle being told that. And I feel like right now I'm a that it's me getting that hit, because there's a lot of people that could not handle that,
that could not handle being told that.
And I feel like right now I'm a very easy punching bag
for the internet, but I don't care.
I can take it, you know what I mean?
But I feel like if somebody else was in this position
right now, they might not be able to.
It is brutal.
I know the competitive dance world is really harsh.
So do you think that is kind of like
what started your tough skin?
I think it's like engraved in me from a very young age.
Because even people on Dance Moms were like,
how'd you deal with Hebe?
She's such a mean teacher.
And I'm like, she's actually like one of the nicest teachers
I ever had in my life.
And then people are like, what do you mean?
And I'm like, what sport did you play?
Were you any good?
How was your coach?
And they're like, oh, like exactly.
Dance is that same way.
But people think dance is supposed to be light and fluffy.
Polite.
Yeah.
Speaking of dance moves, another thing
that people are being very hard on,
and I know you bust your ass.
Anytime I call you, you are in your studio, dancing,
working your ass off.
And it also seems like the internet
is having a bit of fun with this one particular move,
which Nally told me that this is happening.
I'm like, show me what she's doing.
Please tell me you got up and did a move.
Well, no, I merely said,
why are people acting like this,
like anyone could do this or it's a nothing move?
I mean, I'm not even trying, again, I'm biased,
you're my friend, blah, blah, blah,
but it is objectively hard, I can't do that.
And I think-
It's a very hard dance.
I think I'm a pretty decent dancer, you know?
But like-
Well, well.
The point is is like-
Think all four of us, five of us,
and you have me back to the center.
When you see that happening on the internet,
it must drive you nuts not to respond or some
fucking middle-aged fucking dude on the internet has the fucking gall to have an opinion about
your dance moves must infuriate you.
I mean, I have been so hard on me in the dance world.
I don't think I'm a good dancer.
I don't think I'm a good dancer. I don't think I'm a good singer.
But that, so like people saying shit, I'm like, okay.
Like, you're not telling me anything
I've not already told myself, you know what I mean?
But with that particular dance move,
it started because I was fucking around in the studio,
videoing the dance, and I was like,
I wanna see what happens if I do it like overly full out,
what it looks like,
because that shit would sometimes be really good on TikTok. because I did this series back in the day that was like
Doing this dance trend as if I was 11 year old me
So I was like, oh, I want to see I want to see what would happen if I did that but as this dance step
So I did it as the queer art of human karma and that's that first one that I posted where it like is like what the fuck
Is she doing and I sent it to my mom and I was like,
dude, look at this.
I was like, something about this is crack ingested
and you have to watch it twice.
And I was like, I don't know what I did.
And she said it's the extra reverb when I land it,
when I land the step.
And I was like, I just gotta check it out.
I was like, I know I'm going down in flames for this one
because I look crazy, but like this, this. So I checked it
up and what do you know? It goes nuts. And so then that became a thing. You know what
I mean? I kind of had to keep doing it like that. And so yesterday we were doing a promotional
pro dance class where I invited all of the top, top dog dancers in LA, all adults, come
to the studio, me and Richie the choreographer are gonna teach you the dance.
And we get to that part of the dance and I was like,
and we made it, truth.
This is the part that everyone's seen,
but that is not the version of the step that we do.
I was like, but now that is the version.
So you have, we have set a standard now.
But when the video comes out, you'll see we are in the ocean
at that point and there's water splashing everywhere.
And the step is a little more contained, essentially, but that dance section is fucking gnarly in
the video.
It's the water splashing around.
I mean, it's crazy.
I mean, the video comes out tomorrow, right?
Yeah.
9 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, midnight Eastern.
So when this video goes out, are you gonna like put it out
and then turn your phone off and get under your covers
and like just wake up in the morning?
I will, I will.
So I have my Club Karma event.
I'll be doing my big one.
Having fun, we'll go out after,
and then I will come back to my house
and I will stress my ass off.
I will check views, I will refresh, I will update, I will check, I will update, I will check, I will come back to my house and I will stress my ass off. I will check views, I will refresh, I will update,
I will check, I will update, I will check, I will refresh.
And I'll go crazy about it for a while.
I told my friend that I was like,
take my phone away from me, come 3 a.m.
I was like, I don't need it anymore.
Like, let's find it.
I'll be back home at like 3, 2, 30, so.
I got 30.
Do you feel like you're competing with other young stars that you came up with that are
also kind of out on the scene?
100%.
Like Tate McCray and some other people.
So Tate and I, we've been competing against each other since I was 10.
She was in the dance world with you, right?
Yeah.
She was an incredible, she is an incredible dancer, but she's from Canada and there's
big dance convention.
At the time it was just Nuvo and Jump,
and then they had a combined nationals
called the Dance Awards.
And all of a sudden we're at the Dance Awards, right?
And this girl from Canada comes in
and is better than everyone.
There's no shot of anyone else winning.
She is the girl that would do her solo
and you would have gone stage after her
because you just like didn't want,
like she was like freak of nature good.
We went through a phase when we were like 11
that we were friends.
She's very, very, very nice girl.
Her mom is amazing.
She's just fun, fun, super talented, super cool.
Wanted to be just like her.
And now, I mean, it's definitely that she is,
she is my same age in my same world of career.
So she definitely naturally is somebody
that I'm looking at being like, okay,
what I love about music is there is room
for everyone at the top.
There is room for everybody, you know what I mean?
Like if you're going to a movie, you are picking one movie.
If you're playing a song on a car ride,
you're picking 10, five, you know what I mean? So
it's like I don't necessarily think there will ever be said like one artist, you know what I mean?
Yeah, I do. And Tate's, I mean that girl is so talented. So are you. I know you don't think so.
I don't know why you even said that but you are. Never. I literally never will believe that.
I think I can indoor skydive. That I know I'm good at.
That's the only thing.
OK. Can we go real skydiving?
Please.
Billy said he wanted to take me.
Oh my. Fuck.
That's who we should go fucking skydiving with.
Can't end up with Billy? Yeah.
It'd be so fun.
We're just by ourselves.
No parachute. Just go for the best.
OK. Well, you have a kid. That sounds morbid. God, No parachute, just go for the best. Okay, well you have a kid, so let's...
That sounds morbid.
Guys, it was a joke.
It depends how the video goes, you know?
Yeah, we'll circle back.
How do you handle the criticism?
I mean, reading that stuff, I'm like, I feel like mentally that would be toxic, draining.
Very.
It hurts?
My closest bubble knows how much reassurance I need. Okay. It's like, I thought, you know, we were cool. I thought we were friends. And then you're like, online fucking making fun of me.
Like, that hurts.
Yeah.
Tana, I will say, was, that was confusing.
James, I literally told him to go for it.
You know what I mean?
James was literally at my studio last week.
Like, that boy, I was like, please do it.
And he was like, I'm not going to do it.
I'm not going to do it.
I'm not going to do it.
I'm not going to do it.
I'm not going to do it.
I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it, I literally told him to go for it. You know what I mean? James was literally at my studio last week.
Like that boy, I was like, please do it.
And he actually said the same thing with his song.
He was like, if you want to make a TikTok
and you want to blast me, he was like, go for it.
Cause that shit will do good.
It's all a game.
But I don't think he would though.
Me?
I don't think he would make a video blasting him.
No, no, no, no.
And I think he, for me, was just doing the dance trend.
Like, it is what it is.
Like, I...
I know, but I'm glad he asked.
I appreciate you as my friend.
But I wish he would have been like...
My defense.
I think he, I wish it would have landed better
as a friend if he would have just, you know,
supported you and like used his massive platform
to like, you know to give you a shout out
or do something creative or funny and not just... The dance.
I like build you up.
Mock you.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean look.
I wish he would have done something
that didn't require him to call you up
and ask for permission.
That's valid, that is valid.
I think I'm just like, I don't take anything to heart.
You know what I mean?
I know, that's what makes you great.
And he is somebody that I would consider a friend. You guys I would consider best friends. You know what I mean? I know, that's what makes you great. And he is somebody that I would consider a friend.
You guys I would consider best friends,
you know what I mean?
We're not on a level, if he needs to use my space,
come over happily, if we wanna do a video together happily,
but we've never gone out to dinner.
I've never gone and hung out with him,
we've only filmed together, you know what I mean?
So it's like, I definitely, I-
Can I be mad at him for you,
even though you're being super gracious?
Sure.
I have nothing to be mad at.
Like, I would want him to do that
and get the view off of that,
because logically speaking, if he came to my defense,
no one's gonna give a fuck.
I don't, it's not like,
I don't want him to come to your defense.
I don't think you necessarily need defending, you know?
Like, you are taking risks, you know what you signed up for I just
Support it, you know, like find the good in what you're doing rather than find the low-hanging fruit that part
I think that's how I stay sane right now is like my close people
Really have my back right now. Ty called me as I was on my way over here and he was like, you know
It's coming over here and I was like, yes, I'm going right now
He's coming here next week.
Oh, love that dude.
Is he coming to our wedding?
No, all right.
Is he really not coming?
I told him he was in trouble.
He's in trouble.
I told him he's in trouble.
I quite literally, I called him out.
He said he's trying to make it happen.
Oh, we said that you guys need to do an LA wedding.
Oh, I'm sorry.
We're literally closer to him.
Yeah.
We're literally going to him. I. We're literally going to him.
I said also, Nick's wedding was over the last night and they said, you're trying to bail.
He said, they got me doing press and work stuff and so I am kind of screwed, which is
same time as Nick's wedding. So legit, no stress, all the press as much as possible.
And his wedding is also in the middle of Georgia.
Which is closer to him.
That I said, I said, he said, I know, are you going? And I said, for sure, trying to,
I have it blocked off on my calendar, but if something super important for work comes up,
that would be the only thing if I got asked to perform.
Jojo's not going now.
No, Jojo is going. We actually, are you ready for this one?
Take two off.
No, no bitches. I just scheduled my new music video
and they wanted to schedule it for
and I said no.
I said, I have a wedding that I am at.
So the only thing would be as if it was like something
that I like literally could not do.
But then we were saying that y'all need to have
a mini LA wedding.
Like, no, you took all your years.
Well, if you and Tyler want to throw us a wedding in LA,
we will attend.
No, we're having one wedding.
No, that is something,
I think that is something about you.
You are incredibly supportive to everyone that,
to your circle, to your friends, to your people.
You take care of everyone around you.
I don't think we've ever been together where you're like,
we have to fight you to pay for something.
You just like wanna take care of everyone.
It's a little obnoxious.
It's like, I make money.
Shit.
I remember we had that conversation.
You're like, you know, I can like buy my own things.
I make money.
And I was like, sit down.
Super generous.
Thank you very much.
I can buy this piece of pizza.
Like, oh my God.
But no, I just think like, yeah, you care about your people. You work so insanely hard.
Like Nick said, anytime we talk, you are in the gym,
you're in the studio, you're like up at 6 a.m.,
you don't fucking sleep.
You're just nonstop working and you're 21 years old.
Not even.
When did you turn 21?
May 19th.
Everything but alcohol party, be there, be square.
A BBA.
What's that?
Everyone but alcohol.
Wait, EBA.
Everything about alcohol.
She counts with her fingers.
Okay, anyways.
We love you anyways.
Anyways.
No, but I just think like it's extremely fucked up
that people are mocking you,
but at the end of the day that they're making-
It's getting the view. they're giving you the view.
Yesterday we had our highest day of creates on TikTok,
and for songs three weeks old on TikTok.
You know what I mean?
We can cut this out if you want,
but I do wanna try to convince you of one thing.
Me?
Yeah.
Okay.
I want you to take the decals off your car.
I want you to take the fucking,
just drive a car not the judge
immobile. So here's the thing you can't be a badass like edgy. So I get it. It's a
massive marketing tool. Always has been since my first tour. I've been doing
this with cars since I was 14. Once this era of life is over I'll take it back to
white. But it is a massive marketing tool because look what you wanted to talk about.
Harriet, Harriet.
I think I just made him sit down and shut up.
I think he did.
You're sat.
I wasn't arguing that doesn't get attention
and just for your own safety.
But you know about it, you know what I mean?
When I'm driving, I'm always wondering like,
how do people know it's you?
They're always waving.
I know you're super famous. And I keep forgetting're in the car as your face all over it. Yeah
Yeah, was that your like when you said you did this at 14? Yeah, so were you like no
So I might I when I went on dream the tour
And I was my first concert tour. I was very young when ticket sales started. I was 15 and I was put on everything.
I wanted this tour to be everything.
I put it on a wall in my house.
I put it on all my clothes, only wear that clothes.
So then for my 16th birthday,
my manager wanted to buy me a car.
And so nice, so gracious of her.
But my parents were like,
but we wanna get our baby her first car.
Like that's, so then for my,
when I turned 15 and a half and I could get my permit,
my parents went and they got a little,
it was a great car, it was my little baby Beamer.
And they had it wrapped.
So that was the thing that my parents started
because they knew that I loved that.
I wanted to promo that all the time.
And so they put the graphics on it
and I had no idea it was coming.
Like I had full surprise.
And then, yeah, after that, it kind of was like,
oh shit, now it's a standard.
You know what I mean?
It's like showing up to the event two days ago
in that fucking costume, it's like,
fuck, what am I gonna wear next?
You know what I mean?
It's like now I can't show up in a,
you know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah, you always gotta go one step.
It is a safety hazard.
Massive.
Slightly.
Yeah, no, not even slightly, massive.
It's just like, follow me.
You're asking people to stalk you.
Literally like, oh, wanna know where JoJo is?
Right there.
Yeah.
Well, JoJo, thank you for joining us.
Rallying and showing up.
Talking about all this.
I got you, I appreciate you guys.
We're really excited for you.
This is gonna be such a fun new chapter of your life.
It's fun.
I can't wait for a couple years from now
where all the assholes are kissing your ass
because you're the next big thing
and I just want you to remember all the tanimojos out there.
Thank you.
Who decided to.
You'll make me remember them.
Oh I will. No yeah. Comes with to- You'll make me remember them.
Oh, I will.
No, yeah.
Comes with receipts.
Oh my God, I can be so petty.
Let's be petty.
So petty.
I love you.
I love you.
I think you're amazing.
Thank you guys for having me.
And you are a better person than you are a celebrity.
And a dancer and a performer and rock star.
And I wish you nothing but the best.
We have Daisy Kent coming up
and super excited for you guys to hear that. We have Daisy Kent coming up and super excited
for you guys to hear that.
We don't normally do this but following,
JoJo's also gonna be here for texting office hours.
So Daisy couldn't, she was doing her,
super busy right now coming off her show.
So she didn't have time.
JoJo's stepping in, she's gonna do texting office hours.
So hang around if you came here listening for JoJo,
she's not going away quite yet.
Next up is Daisy Kent.
And then following texting office hours,
I have some final thoughts on Daisy.
I don't usually do this,
but I felt after meeting Daisy,
compelled to share some thoughts,
especially after learning about,
we talked to her about, you know,
why she isn't a Bachelorette,
that decision that went into that.
And it made me think.
So stick around for that.
Anything else before we get to Daisy?
Nope.
Okay, Daisy can everybody.
Hinge.
Hinge is the dating app designed to be deleted.
Why?
Hinge gives you a sense of someone's personality
and lets you share your own.
You get to know potential dates
through their unique answers to prompts
plus get a sense of someone's dating intentions
and what they're looking for.
As we know, I am a single data person out in the wilds.
And as I've spoken about before,
I recently have started trying HingeX,
which is Hinge's kind of premium subscription service,
if you will.
And you just have so much more customization
of who you're matching with,
different credentials that you have.
And I was just thinking, I was like,
this would have saved my girlfriends
so many like frustrating dating experiences,
because I have some girlfriends who don't drink
and don't want to party.
And you can customize that if you want someone
who maybe also doesn't drink or only drink sometimes.
Some of my girlfriend's religion is very important to them.
You can also like filter those things out.
So what I love about Hinge is it really helps you find people who are what you're looking for,
and you don't have to waste time and get frustrated and then end up giving up as so many of us do.
Yeah, Hinge is so great to get the conversation going because so many people elsewhere are saying,
saying like, hey, or what's up or or things like that. Not with those hinge prompts.
So get those conversations started with hinge
and start getting yourself off the app.
And in love on hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games.
If you are feeling inspired, give hinge a try.
Download Hinge today and find someone
worth deleting the app for.

Lines out the door sometimes, what dermatologist should you go to?
Well, not with apostrophe, with Apostrophe, you have an online platform

I love how easy the Apostrophe website is to use. I was prescribed a topical cream, a pill, and some
sunscreen to put on top every day. And she wanted to see me again in six months because she told me
it could take two to three months to fully go into effect and start working. And my supplements were
only for three months. So I went onto their website and I said, I would like my second supply of three
months, please. And they just shipped directly to my house. And then I can use my second three months and then I'll, you know, send her a little
update. Well, change that.
And you're looking like a glazed donut.
Thank you.

Daisy.
Hello.
Welcome to the Vilephiles.
Thanks for having me.
We're excited to have you.
I'm such a big fan.
Of me or the show?
Both.
Amazing, we love.
Love that so much. Love that. You can go either way. It's just like, hey, you know, you're okay, but the show? Both. Amazing, we love. Love that so much. Love that.
You can go either way.
It's just like, eh, you know, you're okay,
but the show's pretty good to watch.
The show's awful, but you're amazing.
I liked you, but then I listened to your show
and I was like, ugh.
We are very excited to have you.
Thank you.
How have you been?
How's your heart?
I'm good.
We usually ask how's our heart.
It seems more relevant in this particular interview.
Yeah, definitely.
I'm doing really good, honestly.
I think people don't realize that the show also,
like it ended a while ago.
Yeah, what, Thanksgiving-ish?
Yeah, I think I got home, yeah.
What did you do to decompress from that whole experience?
Oh, I was like, I need to be on the first flight
to Minnesota, back with my family.
Chopped down some Christmas trees?
Yeah, chopped down some Christmas trees.
But yeah, I just went back home.
Parents picked me up, went home, siblings came over,
just talked to all of them about everything,
broke down a few times, but now we're good.
So then why aren't you the Bachelorette?
I...
I wasn't expecting to get to that fast,
but she's like, I'm fine.
Right away.
I'm thriving, because Monday, but she was like, I'm fine. I was like, I'm thriving.
Cause Monday night, it was like, you know,
you were, you were still soul searching.
You were finding yourself.
You were maybe not quite ready for love.
Yeah. So there's, there's like a few reasons.
So one, my like health is like an aspect of it.
And like I knew as the lead, like it's very,
like it's a lot on you,
not only emotionally, but also physically too.
It sure is, yeah.
There were a lot of, I mean, you know,
cause you were the lead, but you're up super late.
Like you're always.
It was the worst experience of my life.
So it's nonstop.
And I talked to a lot of past leads
when it was in talks with me.
And I just knew from from like the health point
it would be a lot.
And then I also, like it's not that I'm not ready to date.
It's that I wasn't ready for that specific thing.
And I think like coming off the show and doing the show,
I didn't realize like how much of kind of a big thing it is,
if that makes sense.
I think right now, like I just wanna live and be happy,
and I'm always gonna jump at opportunities,
but I think just this specific opportunity
wasn't right for me right now.
So obviously your health aspect, which makes sense.
And when you say health, I mean,
I totally understand if you don't wanna,
that's personal information, per se,
but what's, you know, cause you're right,
physically, emotionally, I mean, I'm kidding when I say it's the worst thing ever, but like what's, cause you're right, physically, emotionally,
I mean, I'm kidding when I say it's the worst thing
ever done, but it is very taxing.
It was the most challenging thing I've ever done
because you're right, it's 18 hour days
for eight weeks in a row.
You're emotionally responsible for your feelings
and 30 other men, that's a lot.
But other than your health,
and if you are able to elaborate more
on the biggest concern of where you're at
and that kind of journey with your health,
but what else scared you about that process?
I think, well, just not getting enough sleep
and all of that stuff.
I knew they would take care of me
and they made it very evident that they would.
Also, the fact of hurting other people
and being in that process.
I mean, there's what?
Usually around 30 people.
You can't send everyone home at once.
You know what I mean?
And what if I didn't actually like them?
I don't think I could actually sit there
and kiss somebody.
You'd be, it's brutal.
You know what I mean?
So I thought really long and hard about all of it.
Like a lot of it, it wasn't an easy decision,
but after, I was wondering after it got announced,
like how I would feel if I would be like,
oh, like, like I wish I would have done it,
but I'm like, I'm so happy right now that I didn't.
So yeah, so it feels like good.
Like I know I made the right decision for me.
Good for you.
Most people in your position, including myself,
don't have the guts or the, I guess,
maybe even the emotional maturity
to say no to an opportunity like that.
Yeah, and I think I know when things are getting too much
and when it would be too much for me.
Like I said, I'm not someone that just easily
turns down opportunities, especially something like that.
But there's also so much I want to do.
And right now I just felt like it was important
that I kind of take control of my life
and the path I want to do.
So it was like a lot of reasons, a lot of thinking.
Was there a person from Bachelor Nation
or a conversation that you had that helped you come
to this decision, or was it mostly kind of internal
processing and conversations with your family?
I think it was a lot of conversations I had.
A huge one was with my family, but also with other people.
Everyone's like, it's the hardest thing I've ever done,
but a lot of people were like the best thing too.
And no one regretted doing it, but people were like,
if you're doing it, make sure you're ready.
It just, it didn't feel right.
When did you come to that decision?
How long before AFR were you pretty clear
that it wasn't for you?
I was very open and honest about it and very transparent
that I wasn't for sure if I wanted to do it,
but like two weeks before.
And they were all super nice and respectful
and understood all of my reasons too.
And they still wanna see me grow and do other things.
And they said, if we can help you in any way,
we want to.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
You can't predict the future,
but do you think there's a possibility,
because you never know, next season,
we'll see how it goes with Jen and her men.
We've seen some pics,
we don't know their personalities.
We don't know if there's a star among them.
Right.
And even if there is, that know, that person, you know,
it's not just a TV show,
it is a show about people finding love.
And the lead does have a lot of say
in who they bring forward.
You know, for example, when I was named the bachelor,
it wasn't off my last season of The Bachelorette.
This is all to say if down the road,
maybe a year from now,
if all of a sudden they were going through
their current options and they thought,
you know what, you know who would have been great?
That guy, that Daisy Kent.
What's she up to these days?
Are you willing to leave the door open
for maybe in the future as a role that you might be,
being the best friend might be a role
that you would consider down the line
or are you pretty content with letting that go away?
Right now I'm content with letting that go away? Right now I'm content with letting that go away
and I know most people might not understand that
and I think if you were to ask me like even a year ago,
like did you think like this would be a possibility?
I would be like, oh my gosh, 100% I'll do it.
And it was interesting too because everybody,
I was posting on social media so much and they're like,
oh she just wants to do The Bachelorette.
She's like campaigning to be The Bachelorette.
And I was like, no.
Quite the opposite actually.
Quite the opposite.
But like.
And so it wasn't, you weren't,
your decision wasn't based off of proving anyone wrong either?
No.
Okay.
Definitely not.
Good, that was good to hear.
Yeah, no, it was definitely something
like it was just about me. It's also reassuring to find out that it wasn't your music video that was good to hear. Yeah, no, it was definitely something like it was just about me.
It's also reassuring to find out
that it wasn't your music video that did it.
Yeah, I know, I saw your podcast
and then there was so much on that.
I was like, no, it wasn't because of that.
And I know it wasn't because, well, because one, like I-
You had already decided.
Yeah, and then like that had already been on the internet
for like so long.
Like they all saw it.
Like some of the producers would like call me laughing
and I'm like, I know.
When was that by the way?
It was like four years ago.
Are you a singer?
You are a singer.
Well, very nice voice.
Yeah.
Thank you.
But when I was, so like growing up,
I played piano, taught myself how to play guitar.
I was always in like theater and did choir and stuff.
And then I would sing for fun.
And then I started losing my hearing
and I was kinda like,
I'm just gonna record as many covers as I can.
Because I was like,
I don't know if I'm gonna be able to do this ever again.
So I just recorded myself singing all the time.
It was kinda like my outlet in a way.
And then I did that. Oh. I mean, your all the time. It was kind of like my outlet in a way. And then I did that.
I mean, your part was gorgeous.
I want to be clear.
I loved it.
I thought that was amazing.
Honestly, I was, I've been talking to people about it.
And it was a point in the show where like,
I was kind of like fizzling out, I feel like.
And then all of a sudden that got resurfaced.
And I was like, I was kind of back in it.
So I was like, here she is.
No. But it was great. Yeah. I sometimes forget.
And it was just out of pocket too, I feel like, because people are like sweet, wholesome girl on
the Christmas tree farm. I mean, your part on the song was still fairly sweet and wholesome.
You know, cut to- Following.
Following. Kind of sweaty balls or something.
I don't know, sack of nuts.
I think we were just all wondering,
what's the context of the song?
Was that one of your friends that you just featured on?
Yeah, so actually, yeah.
Like a Romeo and Juliet thing, like two lovers.
Are you talking to each other?
So he's one of my best friends
since fourth, fifth grade, probably.
Oh, nice.
Yeah, and we've just always been best friends.
And he's very creative.
Like he's awesome.
And the thing that I love about him is like,
whenever I was like holding back from like doing something,
even like after the show, I was like,
maybe I should stop like posting on social media so much.
And he's like, no, like keep doing it, keep doing it.
Like he always kind of pushes me to step outside
of my comfort zone.
But yeah, we did that.
When did that happen?
That, when did you make the video?
Like four years ago.
Four years ago.
And it was interesting though,
cause that was the time when I was really sick too,
from Lyme disease.
And so like every once in a while I would have a day
where I like felt okay.
And that day I like felt okay.
And he's like, do you want to do this?
I'm like, sure, why not?
Did you know his lines? I remember him like singing's like, do you wanna do this? I'm like, sure, why not? Could you know his lines?
I remember him singing or going over them to me
and I was like, that's interesting.
And then I went home and I was like, mom, listen to this.
My mom's like, I don't know, Daisy.
And I called her when it was going all over the internet
and my mom was like, I was like, mom.
And I was laughing and she's like, what's going on?
I was like, remember that music video
of Brandon's eyes thing on?
And she was like, yeah, and I'm like,
it's going all over the internet
and my mom starts laughing, she goes, you know, Daisy?
And my mom's always so supportive of me
and she goes, you know, I get it.
I get why these people are here.
So it was funny. It was great. Yeah, I sometimes why these people are here. So it was funny.
It was great.
Yeah, I sometimes forget about when I say things
on this show, people just run with it.
I mean, it was a true story of what I said, you know?
Like someone told me my douchey thirst traps
did not help my...
But then you still got it, right?
Or was that like following?
Yeah, I mean, again, when I told that story,
Ben, in that particular, Ben was always their guy.
But she did point it out, at least back then,
they took a very wholesome approach
and they didn't like stuff like that.
That was also back before the internet was what it is today.
I mean, certainly the internet existed when I was on,
but it wasn't like the, there's a,
so, you know, like it was back then it was the, you didn't really, yeah, you didn't have the
following. You didn't really, you, you didn't put yourself out there. You know, if you looked like,
if you looked any part of an influencer, that was a huge red flag thing nowadays. It's,
you should be putting yourself out there on the show. So, but yeah, people ran with that.
Are we gonna get some new Daisy music?
I don't know, probably not for a little bit.
I think getting my cochlear implant,
music doesn't sound perfect,
and voices don't sound perfect,
singing doesn't sound very good,
so it's hard for me to tell.
But if I would,
it would be something that I would do to like prove
to myself, like I'm not trying to be like a rock star.
Like, you know what I mean?
But it would be something to like prove to like myself
and be like, okay, like I can still kind of do this,
but not trying to be like.
It's the music biz, it's tough.
Not that I know anything about it.
It's very vulnerable.
I would just do it for like, my.
Yeah.
Like a nice little YouTube cover for Huff.
Maybe.
People are so brutal in the music.
Like objectively, that song was good.
Like is it like Grammy worthy?
I'm not the one to say.
But like I can't do shit like that.
You know what I'm saying?
Like 99% of the public can't sing like Daisy.
And yet the internet was all like, oh shit.
Oh, like secondhand embarrassment.
It's like, shut the fuck up.
You guys can't say, but it's, that's what I'm saying.
When it comes to the music industry,
people are so fucking, they're harsh.
Yeah. Yeah.
But yeah, I think it'd be something just to like
prove to myself and be like,
okay, I can still play piano, guitar, sing.
And yeah, I feel like it'd be like empowering for me
to be like, yeah, I can do this.
But I wouldn't know exactly what it sounds like.
So that's the hard part.
Damn.
How did you end up on the show?
Did you answer?
I'm sorry if I don't know.
So I'm sorry if you've answered that question.
No, you're good. Yeah, I ended up on the show? Did you answer, I'm sorry if I don't know. So I'm sorry if you've answered that question. No, you're good.
Yeah, I ended up on the show.
I was making TikToks about my cochlear implant
and then going into my surgery.
I like documented like the whole thing through on TikTok.
And so I kind of drew like a small following on there.
And a couple of them had went viral.
And one of the casting producers saw one of my TikToks and reached out to me and was like would you
be interested in going on The Bachelor and I was like um I don't know. So were
you much of a fan? Yeah I've like always watched it growing up with my mom and I
was back in Minnesota visiting when I like got the message I was like mom this
is weird. Was that weird like being being scouted for a show you love?
Yeah, it was.
And then I remember I was watching all season.
I'm like, who's it gonna be?
Who's it gonna be?
Because I kind of figured I was gonna be on.
But yeah, then got the call I was on.
I was like, okay.
Did they tell you that it was Joey?
I found out when I was watching with my friends.
We were watching the finale.
Okay. But you already knew you had already said yes. No, I think it was Joey. I found out when I was watching, like with my friends, we were watching the finale.
But you already knew you had already said yes.
No, I think it was shortly after that.
Shortly thereafter.
Yeah.
But I was like, I was very unsure honestly
until even when I got that call,
how it was gonna go and I was very open with them
that I didn't know once I got there
if it was gonna be too much
because I was still really struggling
with like speech and understanding speech.
And the night I walked into the mansion,
I was like, I can't do this.
I don't think I should be here.
And I talked to one of the EPs and another producer,
I said, you know, I think it's too early for me right now.
And they just said it was gonna be probably the hardest
like night for me that night.
The night one is wild.
Yeah, because it's like overwhelming and crazy too.
And I literally couldn't hear anything.
So I was like going outside and all the girls were like,
it's like they probably think that I'm so rude
because I kept walking away.
And Rachel's one of my good friends
and she always tells the story to everyone.
She's like, I was talking to Daisy and she just walks away.
And I was like, yeah, this girl's kind of rude
but I kind of dig it.
I'm like, I just so overwhelmed's kind of rude, but I kind of dig it. I'm like, I'm just so overwhelmed
and I couldn't hear anything.
You know what's really embarrassing for me is I do that
and I don't have cochlear implants.
I'm just aloof and in my head
and it's more of an ADD situation.
I still think it's a condition I have.
Yeah, I know you can be talking right at it.
Or just my personality.
I'm just like, I got a million things going on in my head
and someone will be like, I was just talking to you.
I don't even realize I'm doing it,
but you have a valid excuse.
So you really, you really,
I don't think people realize just how new
these cochlear implants were for you
before you went on the show.
No, people don't.
And that's why it was a big deal for me to go in there
and the timeline and the things that they captured too,
like me hearing my little brother's voice
and like different things like that.
They were huge milestones for me.
And people were like, a lot of the stuff online was like,
all she does is talk about her cochlear implants.
And I was like, I don't, I'm like-
I just started hearing it.
Yeah, I'm like, I just started hearing it again.
I'm sorry, internet.
Exactly.
And it's like, it is a huge part of my life.
And also the shows edited.
Your camera's following you around.
That's how they, yeah.
And it was a huge part of my story.
Wow.
Daisy, can I ask about your cochlear implant?
So my cousin was born deaf
and they ended up getting bilateral cochlear implants.
So they have two.
Is that because they were a child when it happened
and you were an adult and you just need one,
or are you planning on getting a second one?
Because I know they had to have two separate surgeries.
Yeah, so I got this one first
because my left ear was completely done for.
I still had a little bit left in my right ear.
I can hear snaps in my right ear.
I can't hear speech.
Speech is very distorted.
So if you were to come whisper, say something this year,
or if I have my cochlear implant off
and I wasn't looking at you,
I would have no clue what you were saying,
if that makes sense.
Eventually the way it's looking, probably yes,
but they're doing a bunch of research
for Meniere's disease, which is what I have.
So I kinda wanna wait and prolong it as long as I can.
Yeah, night one, it is crazy.
I remember my night one.
Cause I think everyone's very similar night one.
Yours is different cause you obviously had
your health to consider.
But everyone's thinking, just don't go home night one.
Just don't go home night one.
At the time when I went on,
I had this job that I very much liked.
I had just got promoted.
I was nervous about sacrificing that.
I remember night one, me showing up,
and it was like one o'clock in the morning at this point.
I hadn't talked to Andy at all.
And I remember thinking to myself,
what the fuck am I doing here?
This is ridiculous.
This is for me.
And then I was there.
And I had this thought of like, just go.
This is not for you. But then I was like and I had this thought of like just just go this is not for you
But then I was like I'm here. So yeah, you got to go talk to her before
Mm-hmm, you know you at least leave and but yeah that night the night one is wild
Yeah, isn't it like crazy like till the Sun comes up? Yeah, I didn't talk to him until 6 a.m
Geez, please. Are you the last one to talk? You're like am I even speaking English at this point? Am I awake?
Did you get the first impression Rose? No, I was the last one to talk to him. You're like, am I even speaking English at this point? Am I awake? Uh-huh.
Did you get the first impression, Rose?
No, I got the first date.
Leia got the first impression.
She threw the lead in the fire.
Yeah, okay.
Dramatic moment.
Yes.
Can I ask what your expectations were going on
to this season versus like,
how was your actual experience being on it?
Yeah, so do you mean like how far?
Like what were you anticipating
or like what did you think it was gonna be?
And like, did it live up to your expectations
or was it completely different than what you?
So I went on and I actually,
I didn't even know if I was gonna have feelings for him.
I was kinda like, I'm just gonna do it
and see what happens.
So yeah, I kind of blew my expectations, honestly.
Like it was so much,
because you hear like horrible stories
about people doing it,
and then you hear great stories about people doing it.
But my whole experience,
like I honestly had such a great time.
Who are you closest with, as far as the women?
Rachel, Autumn, Kelsey T and Krissa probably.
I talk to them the most.
And then like Lea, Jess, Kelsey A,
I talk to Sydney, Caitlin, who else?
I talk to a lot of the girls.
I was gonna say that sounds like most of them.
Yeah, I know, yeah.
I talk to like most of the people.
You seem like a preg. Lexi, yeah. Lexi Yeah, I know, yeah. I talk to most of the people. You seem like a preg.
Lexi, yeah.
Lexi too.
Me and Lexi kinda had a unique connection
from the beginning because we both have health things
with different health things.
And so she was someone who I could always talk
about that stuff and we just kinda understood it.
Do you know if the show spoke with her
about being the lead at all?
Because she seemed to have a compelling story
that I think a lot of people would have been interested in.
No, but I think the same thing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm curious, because you seem like a pragmatic,
level-headed person, but there was a lot of drama
between Marie and a lot of the women early in the season.
Yeah.
And you seem to be staying out of it.
Yeah.
What was your read on that?
What was the truth?
What was going on?
I think it's just like you get a group of women
and they're very like big personalities
and like obviously it's gonna like clash sometimes
but I honestly I think everyone's like a great person
from my standpoint.
I just think it was a situation
where it got the best of people at some times,
but also, like, it's, you don't see everything too, you know? So, but...
Very political answer.
It's like, who can't you stand on that cast?
Whose side? Gun to your head. Who you pickin'?
I mean, what is your relationship history prior to going on the show?
We didn't get to learn much about that when it comes to your story. Yeah, I haven't had many
Like serious relationships the last like four years
I've like dated people but I haven't really had anything serious
But it was because of a lot of the stuff that I went through and I was kind of just focusing on me
So coming on the show too. I was like, I haven't been in a relationship in a really long time.
How long was it? I think since I was 21. Okay. What's your longest relationship
you've had? My longest relationship I think it was like a year but then it was
on and off for a while after and then I had like a high school boyfriend for a
couple years I think but. Have you had your a couple of years, I think, but.
Have you had your heart broken?
Yeah.
You have?
Yeah.
Okay, who broke it?
You know, I don't need a name, but was it like,
where's his address?
Address, social security.
Just like, was it the one,
was it not the high school one?
Like what happened?
Yeah, it was my ex boyfriend.
Okay.
And we like were in the same college friend group.
Actually, all my college friends, we all used to date each other.
And then everyone broke up, but we're also really good friends.
Is it San Diego State University?
Yes.
I saw that.
Yeah, I saw that.
I have a lot of friends that went there, yeah.
Yeah.
It was a good time.
How'd you end up going to San Diego State?
I wanted to go somewhere warm,
and my brother went to ASU, he's a year older than me.
Visited there, didn't love it,
and then went to San Diego State,
was between there and the University of Tampa,
went to SCSU, and I had the time of my life.
Were you part of the rave culture?
I know that's a big thing.
I mean, I was in a sorority. I go to frat parties, but.
What is the craziest thing about you that would surprise people?
The craziest thing?
Like most out of pocket. Like, do you have a, oh, like a, I don't know. Yeah. Like,
holy shit, Daisy's into that? You know?
I don't know.
I can't think of anything that would like shock people completely.
I might have to think about that and come back to you.
I wish I had something.
That's okay.
I mean, I used to do like performance water skiing.
Really?
Yeah.
That's something.
Yeah, that is something.
But it's like, like the pyramids and stuff.
Have you ever seen them?
That's like the perfect Minnesotan thing. Yeah, I was gonna say it's the very- That's the last thing. I was it's like like the pyramids and stuff. Have you ever seen them? That's like the perfect Minnesotan thing.
I was going to say it's a very, it's a very midwest thing.
Yeah.
So you're you're you can slalom.
That's my worst fear.
So yeah, really good.
Wow. Yeah, I can follow them.
I used to do like doubles.
That's like the guys skiing and then you're on top like doing tricks and spinning and stuff.
Love that.
Scary.
Yeah, terrifying.
So I mean, I feel like that's not like,
well, but interesting a little bit.
What part of the season did you really start saying,
holy shit, I'm actually starting to like this guy?
Honestly, like every time I spent more time with him,
I felt myself liking him more and more,
but I would get confused.
Cause when I was away from him, I was like, I don't know.
I would say, really, in Jasper was when I was like,
oh, wait, I do really, really like him.
What was it about him?
And I know he's in a relationship now
we want to be respectful of that.
It's just more, I'm curious, what was it for you?
How did he make you feel and why? Being in It's just more, I'm curious, what was it for you? You know, like, how did he make you feel
and why, you know, being in that environment
sure can affect things, but, you know,
what was it about that relationship that made you feel
like this potentially could be your person?
You know, so less about Joey,
but more about how it made you feel
and which of those emotions are you hoping to replicate
potentially in your next relationship?
Yeah, I think I look for someone who's very kind
and I always watch how they treat other people
and watching how he treated all of the girls in the house,
which with such respect and also the camera people,
the people behind the mics, like producers,
he was just always so kind.
I think for me, it was a time period where I hadn't really,
I hadn't dated anyone in such a long time.
And he just kind of helped me see there's more to me than what I thought people can
see past.
I just felt different and I don't expect anyone to understand that.
But I went through a really life-changing thing with losing my hearing and then getting
it back.
And I think it was just kind of,
it made me insecure in a way.
And I think him still seeing me for me
and a group of beautiful women who all had amazing jobs,
amazing things going for them.
I think it was kind of like,
oh, I do deserve to feel good about all of this.
But I think that's why, I don't know, like I do like deserve to feel like good about all of this.
But I think that's why I don't know. Did I kind of answer the question?
Yeah.
Was it the, or just in general, when you were like,
no shit, he's not picking me.
Or did you start seeing a connection
with Joey and Kelsey earlier?
Like at what point did you start thinking,
yeah, we have something here, but I don't know,
the way he's looking at Kelsey or how he is with Kelsey
or how aware of that connection were you?
Because certainly we certainly had some fun
with that whole line Joey gave you where he was like,
I want you to find love with me or in general.
And it's like, oh, oh, oh, okay, yeah, yeah.
No.
Yeah, I was like, yep.
Yeah.
I thought it was you.
But, but I, no, I always saw it between them.
And I was the one person that I always saw it between.
And I didn't even realize, I think,
my connection with him right away.
And then other girls in the house were like,
you guys like really vibe together.
He really likes you
and I always, and people have said that about Kelsey too.
And then I just remember, like, I don't know,
I could just see it, I could always tell.
And I remember one day, it was in Jasper,
me and Kelsey were sitting on the dock, just me and her.
And we were having like such a good conversation
and I went back to my room and I was writing my journal
and I was like, if it's not me,
him and Kelsey are perfect together.
And I went back and I was reading it,
I'm like, oh my gosh, I feel like I kinda knew.
And then my like, oh shit moment, it's really not me.
It was at the rose ceremony when Rachel left.
And I just remember, I was at the rose ceremony when Rachel left. Okay. And I just remember I was like,
when I walked up, I could just like tell,
Kelsey had something about her.
She was just like, I could just tell.
And then I saw him come up and we were like,
cheersing and they looked at each other
and I was like, oh yeah, I'm done for.
So that rose ceremony is always super fucking weird.
Yeah. Just because it's just super fucking weird. Yeah.
Just because it's just down to two.
Yeah.
And it's like the strongest connections
and the lead is just like, I don't know what to do
or how to handle.
And I don't think it's, yeah,
it's hard to hide your true feelings.
Yeah, definitely.
I think I was pushing everything aside, I think.
And I met the family, it went super great.
But on that day, like you don't get to talk a lot to him.
I barely got to talk to him.
And then going into our last date,
I was just super anxious, didn't feel good,
walked up, saw him, and I was like, you know,
something's off.
And it was, yeah, I think it was just me coming
to the whole realization that it wasn't me too.
But I don't know, I knew.
I knew something was missing between us also.
And I think it was that realization too that was hard.
So what conversations did you have with producers towards the end about your feelings and your
thoughts about the strength of your relationship?
I mean, I was very honest, like 100%.
It wasn't, like 100%, I felt it wasn't me.
And I just wanted like to be happy.
I just, I've never been so sure of something, honestly,
but it was also really hard.
I mean, you guys watched it.
Like I was like crying a ton
and I think it was just everything kind of coming together.
Did you have to fight hard for how it ended?
Because I guess watching it, having been in that position before and having been on Joey's side,
I guess my commentary after the finale was like, I think there's been other people in your position
who probably knew it wasn't them and weren't able to kind of end it the way you ended it.
So did you have to insist that it wasn't you,
I know it's not me?
And I guess how did the whole finale come to be?
From you going to Kelsey's room,
to you guys showing up together,
like whose idea was that to do what was done?
Because obviously it was a first for Batch Donation
in terms to see two women in solidarity drive up together.
And I think overall the sentiment was pretty positive
in terms of how people received it.
But for the critics, it was like,
oh, well, like is Daisy stepping on Kelsey's moment
or vice versa?
So like, how did it come to be?
And did it play out the way you hoped?
And for any of the critics,
what would you have to say to like,
their thoughts on how it all went down?
Yeah, I was very vocal about that it wasn't me.
And I knew it wasn't me and I knew it like felt wrong.
And I was, I said, if I'm feeling this way,
there's no way he's not feeling this way.
And it was really, really hard.
And if it would have been a different girl
besides Kelsey that I didn't build such a good friendship
with and somebody who I know and respect, I don't know.
We just had a lot of really good conversations
and we were really good friends on the show,
especially towards the end.
I wouldn't have went and done that, but I did.
And I wish people could have saw the whole conversation
between me and her, but obviously,
it's a two hour thing, it gets cut.
Are there specific moments that you remember
that you would love to share in terms of things
that were talked about between the two of you?
We were very supportive of each other.
And I was like, I know he's not my person.
I know he's your person.
And she was like, I, like you saw her,
she was like, I love him so much.
And she was like, I've been worried about you.
And like, cause I thought it was me
if you were going to be okay.
And I'm like, I'm okay.
And I want you to be happy.
And that was kind of like the gist of it and everything.
And then we decided to go together. What that was kind of like the gist of it and everything. And then we
decided to go together.
What made you go to Kelsey's room versus going to Joey?
I wanted to talk to her because I wanted to make sure that she knew that I supported them
and that even though it did really like her in the moment, I wanted her to know that I want you to be happy.
And I also wanted him to know that I wanted him to be happy.
And I think the people who are criticizing me
and being like, you stepped on her moment,
I mean, she said too it was relieving for her
and I got confirmation, she got confirmation too
in a little bit and I don't know,
I don't regret anything I did.
I think I did the right thing and I think I'm happy
with how it all played out.
Yeah, well, I'm actually, now that I'm hearing you speak,
and that's something I didn't even point out when we were you know
Recap in the finale. Yeah, but you can make a strong argument that you did Joey and Kelsey a huge favor
Yeah, because for all of the criticisms and like, oh, maybe you took Kelsey's moment
I don't think people fully appreciate just how difficult it is to be in Joey's position
Yeah, definitely have to like,
right before you're about to get engaged.
And I knew it was probably killing him because,
like, he's so nice and I know,
like he didn't wanna hurt me,
even though that's what had to happen.
Leading up to, the day you get engaged,
you don't get to think about getting engaged.
You have to think about, unless you're an asshole,
you know, crushing someone's heart potentially,
and you're hoping that you didn't lead them on enough,
but you don't really know, you have no idea.
So instead of thinking about your proposal,
you're thinking about that.
And then when you break up with them,
you feel like an asshole, you feel like a jerk,
and you have like, I don't know, an hour before you're about to get engaged
to the person you love, but instead of thinking about that
and what you wanna say, you're like, are they okay?
Are they gonna, you know?
And so you actually, you know, you couldn't do anything
about that first part, but that second part,
Joey knew you were okay.
Yeah, and me and Kelsey too, I remember in the car,
we had a conversation, and I was like, you know,
not today, today's your day, but you let him know like I knew and that like I'm okay and
I want you guys to be happy too, which I like told him up there too.
But I don't know, it was a really cool moment between me and Kelsey and I'll always be thankful
for it because I mean that day for me it was really hard and it did honestly suck. But it was also uplifting too.
And so I am really thankful that she was there
to be there for me and also I was able to be there for her.
So.
Were you able to watch it back?
Did you watch the season?
Yeah, I watched it.
I had a lot of fun with it, yeah.
Was it hard to watch your moments with Joey?
Not really.
I think because I walked away from the process,
like so happy and I knew in my heart,
even though in the moment I was heartbroken,
but watching it back, I knew after I left,
I knew in a way I felt relieved.
And so when that happened,
I knew it wasn't supposed to be me and him. in a way I felt relieved. And so when that happened,
I knew it wasn't supposed to be me and him.
Like it was supposed to be him and Kelsey.
And I think they're perfect together.
Yeah, so almost watching their moments,
almost confirmed that despite whatever connection
you guys did have,
it didn't add up to maybe his and Kelsey's.
Oh yeah, definitely.
But it was fun, but.
Fantasy suites are always kind of a weird thing.
Yeah.
What were your expectations of fantasy suites going into it,
especially a fan of the show?
Yeah.
And was it kind of surreal that week?
And how did you and Joey use that time?
Yeah, I mean, I didn't really have any expectations
going in, everyone was just like, keep an open mind.
I like love the
producer that was paired with me. He's like, you just like got to do you, talk
about whatever you want to do. So we just spent a lot of the time talking
because there's things that has like happened to me in my past like I didn't
want to share on TV and stuff like that. So we talked a lot about that.
So you still don't want to share?
Yeah, I'm not gonna share it because it involves more people than me.
But maybe when, if I do eventually get my like memoir published about my life,
then maybe I'll come talk about it again.
Well, you can't maybe share specifics this period that you share with Joey.
Yeah.
What was your biggest takeaway from that moment?
Like what did you learn from it?
Or and why did it impact you so much? Joey, what was your biggest takeaway from that moment? Like what did you learn from it?
Or and why did it impact you so much?
I think because it explains a lot about why I am
the way I am and how I care about people
and why understanding and like forgiveness
and like taking somebody who you know has been through
a lot and kind of seeing how it's made them into them,
made them better.
I think it made me a lot and kind of seeing how it's made them into them, made them better. I think it made me a lot more compassionate.
And it's also a reason why sometimes like emotionally,
like I do struggle, but I mean, I'm not sharing what it is.
So I guess that doesn't really help much, but.
What is something you feel like people often misunderstand
about you?
I think like regarding the season,
like people think that, or online, I think, like, regarding this season, like, people think that...
or online, some people are like,
she's trying to just, like, put on this, like, sweet, like,
like, I don't know, and they're like,
she's just trying to, like, TikTok and do all this stuff.
I don't know. I guess that's one thing,
but I genuinely, like, I am a pretty sweet person,
but I also do get pretty am a pretty sweet person,
but I also do get pretty crazy sometimes, so.
That's the craziest thing you've ever done.
I can't say.
Is it illegal?
Is it illegal?
Yeah.
Maybe.
In five countries or less?
But I don't know.
I'm trying to think of something my friends would probably be better at asking that.
So you mentioned that you've been single for a while,
you're taking some time.
Are you looking to get into a relationship
at some point soon, or are you still kind of
working on being by yourself?
Yeah, I mean, I've gone on dates since the show's been over,
or I mean, not over, but since I was off the show and stuff,
like very low key, because I didn't want, you know?
I would be like, ah.
I was dating Ben.
I got a picture.
It's like, so listen, I can't go out in public,
but do you want to like come over and Netflix and chill?
I would.
It's like, what?
This chick's like a fuck boy.
Like, what are you doing?
No, no, it's like, I can't.
No, it's like, I can't be out in public.
They're like, sure, okay.
Yeah.
Lo and behold, it's her family Christmas farm.
It's actually a nice time.
Yeah, come cut down a Christmas tree.
Like, no, I'm not gonna say, like, no,
I'm not gonna date and I'd be down to get in a relationship
if it was somebody I really cared about I would be like
Yeah, I want to be in a room. Like I'm not gonna say no
Is it something you're actively pursuing or just like if it happens it happens just if it happens it happens, but also
like whoever
I'm gonna be with like I'm gonna be very vocal about like right now in my life
It's a time like I know I really need to focus on me.
Just because like I said in the finale,
I haven't been healthy and I haven't been happy
in a really long time.
Like I'm both of those things right now.
So it's time to put myself first a little bit.
I'd be down to get in a relationship.
I love that for you.
Who's your celebrity crush?
Um...
What's your type? Do you have a type? That's the thing. All my friends are like, you do not have a type. I'm like for you. Who's your celebrity crush? What's your type?
Do you have a type?
That's the thing, all my friends are like,
you do not have a type.
I'm like that too.
Cause it's like all over the board.
I say line up the Xs and yeah, none of it makes sense.
Yeah.
Okay.
What about personality?
Personality, I like somebody who's outgoing
and likes to do things.
I really like to do things, anything.
Like outdoorsy.
Active.
Yeah, outdoorsy, I like going to concerts.
I like going out to dinners.
Are you more introverted or extroverted?
I would say I was super extroverted
up until I was like 21.
And then when I started losing my hearing,
I became very introverted.
And I spent like a lot of time by myself
and I didn't really like being around people because I couldn't understand them half the time. And so that made me
more introverted. Have you learned sign language or like reading lips or are you have been
relying on the cochlear implants? I'm sorry if my questions are ignorant. No, no, you're good.
The interesting thing about it is I didn't even realize
that I was reading lips and like facial expressions
and like people's body mannerisms.
But I went to see my doctor probably like two years ago,
my surgeon who did gave me my implant.
And I was talking to her and I had done a hearing test
and I came back and she was like,
you're not hearing speech. And I was like, and then she had put her like mask up and said something
and I had no idea what she was saying. She was like, you like subconsciously you've picked up on so
many. Yeah. And I've noticed it a lot too now because if someone, like if I'm not facing someone
and they say something, like right now, cause I know you guys are talking to because if someone, like if I'm not facing someone and they say something,
like right now, because I know you guys are talking to me,
it's easy and I can figure it out.
But if we're at a bar and there's a bunch of people
and I'm not looking right at you,
I probably wouldn't know what you were saying.
Wow.
Mm-hmm.
Are there a lot of advancements down the pipe
when it comes to cochlear implants in terms of,
or is this like the technology that you have, kind of what is what you're gonna experience
for the time being?
This is the most advanced right now,
and they just came out with this one,
I think, last November.
But, I could be wrong on that date,
but they advanced, I think it's every four to five years,
a new one comes out.
So it is just getting better and better,
and they are doing a bunch of research about it too.
Great.
Yeah.
Awesome.
It was life changing.
I literally can't imagine.
Oh, also it seems like talking with you,
like when back to the whole batch right opportunity,
I'm getting the impression you're just like,
well, you may be ready to date.
You may definitely not be ready to like
get engaged in nine weeks.
Was that something that you were thinking about
or just the fear of that?
Because there is, you know, people always ask,
like, do they make you get engaged?
Like, they don't make you, but there is a pressure
that you feel from the audience or even the men.
Yeah, that you should.
Others would be like, well, why did you do it?
Yeah, and so every lead wants it to happen
even if they may or may not necessarily feel ready.
Like how much thought in terms of like your readiness
for an engagement played a role in that decision?
None.
Oh, okay.
If it was the right person, I would do it.
But I think I'm strong enough in who I am.
If I would have done it, I would have got to the point
and there would have been two guys
and I would have been like, I don't want it.
I don't want it. Like I would have been like, I don't want any of these. I don't want any.
Like I would have been able to not do that.
Have you looked at the pictures of the men for next season?
Yeah, not all of them, but it was like when I got,
I think at like AFR it was released or something,
and my friends are sending it to me and they were like,
I don't think, but they were like looking through
all their Instagrams and stuff.
Is there anyone there that you thought kinda cute?
I didn't really, I didn't look that closely, honestly.
I'll have to go back and look, but...
We could show you them right now.
If we wanna go through one by one, smash or pass.
With Jen's guys.
Rapid fire.
She's only gonna like two.
No, but I'm excited for Jen.
I think it'll be really good for her.
What do you think makes her a good Bachelorette?
She's very well-spoken and can be very composed.
She's fun.
So I think it'll be-
Shot o'clock.
I think, yeah.
What is shot o'clock?
Can you shed some light?
I have no idea.
Okay.
It was not an in-house or in the mansion situation.
No, if it was, I wasn't around when it happened.
But, and like for the representation too, I think.
It'll be huge. Yeah, we love the representation.
We just want to know more about Jen because no one knows.
I don't feel like we really got to see her story.
They should do like a little like recap.
Or she like best moments, meet the bachelorette.
We have a bunch of ideas here at the Valve House. And she like- Yeah, best moments, meet the bachelorette. We had a bunch of ideas.
Meet the bachelorette.
And she just talked about, you guys should get her,
well, I think she's already filming now, but.
Does it go that fast?
The bachelorette does, yeah.
Jeez.
Yeah.
Hey, you're the bachelorette.
All right, start tomorrow.
Honestly, like night one might be tonight, maybe.
What was your favorite part or like experience
or maybe travel?
Like what was your favorite part of being on the season?
My favorite place was Jasper.
Okay.
Six of us girls, it was just a beautiful spot and I felt like everyone was more just like chill and it was good vibes.
And I mean I have my one-on-one right away and I got my rose.
I was just chilling the rest of the week.
So I was like, this is great.
Just having a good time drinking wine.
And all of us girls, we just laughed a lot
because we were all kind of like, okay,
this is like the last time we'll all be together.
And also I loved, I didn't really understand
what a producer was until I was on the show.
And I loved getting to know the producers
and spending time with them.
And I'm still really good friends with a lot of them.
And I really, I don't know, I like that aspect too.
That was a really cool part that, I mean,
nobody gets to see, but I loved that,
and they did play such a big role in my journey.
Were there any women that went farther than you thought
or went not far enough?
If Lexi would have stayed,
I think she would have went farther.
Interesting.
I think that too, but I mean, I don't know.
Yeah, Joey's 10 year plan really kind of didn't,
like, okay.
Yeah, was that talked about in the house after Lexi left?
Because I totally get where Joey's coming from
and we had a chance to talk to him with about that,
but I could see how Joey having a conversation with Lexi,
Lexi leaves and he like,
yeah, by the way, he's like,
he's not planning on having kids
for the next six to 10 years.
You know, you're only 25, so like that can make sense.
But at the same time, you know,
with it being a show with the expectation of engagement,
it's a bit of information that might have been surprising
to some of the ladies.
Was that talked about all that much in the house?
A little bit, not as like a big group.
Like I talked to a couple of the girls about it.
And then I remember on our one-on-one in Jasper
after that, when I talked to him,
I was just like, you know, if I'm getting engaged,
I just wanna make sure like an engagement
is like just as important to me as marriage.
And so I was like, I just wanna like make sure
that like when at the end of this,
whoever like if you're getting engaged to me,
that it's gonna be like a forever thing.
I was like vocal about it that way, you know?
And he was like, yeah, whatever. Like this is, yeah.
This is what?
He was just like, no yeah, an engagement to me too
is like a forever thing.
You got some shit on the internet about vocal fry.
Yes.
Would you like to respond?
I would like to respond and say like,
I have a hearing issue.
Like anybody who's making fun of my voice like honestly
Like not even kind of I'm
Did people come to your offense at least I feel like that would be the obvious response
Yeah, people did but a lot of it too like I don't know it
Honestly, it just like disgusted me and I think as a fact, seeing that there's so many other
little girls probably watching this,
and I was like, I wanted to be a good example for them.
And then people coming at me about my voice
when I have a hearing issue, I was like,
this is just so messed up.
Because I don't want them to see this and be like,
now I don't want to post, now I don't want to talk about,
I don't want to talk.
So I was like, you know what, no, I'm just gonna keep going. going because for a while I was like should I stop talking about my cochlear implant online?
So never I'm like no, I'm like I'm gonna talk about it even more now good for you
How do you want to be treated? I suppose like I don't how do you see your do you see yourself as having a disability?
I mean obviously you do but like I guess as
People interact with you, you know,
sometimes people can get awkward and weird
and not know how to deal with something
they're not familiar with, right?
So a lot of people aren't familiar with communicating
with someone with a cochlear implant or someone who's deaf.
What is your expectations of people
and what advice would you have for people
who might interact with someone
who also has a cochlear implant
and how do they not make it more weird or make it a thing?
You know what I'm saying?
Like how do you want people to interact with you
or treat you?
Yeah, I think it's different for me because I had my hearing
and then I lost it.
So for me, it is a big part of me
and I speak a lot about it and I'm very comfortable if people ask me questions
or if they have questions about it.
But I think just being open about it,
I mean, yeah, it does make my life a little different
and I'm not being like, oh, poor me.
But there are aspects of my life
that are a little harder because of it, but I don't know,
I don't expect people to treat me different.
I can still do everything everyone else wants to do.
So just treat you like anyone else.
Yeah, you can treat me like anyone else,
but if you have questions, ask.
And that's the only way you learn about it too.
And that's on the show when I came on too.
I said I'm worried about how
people are going to take this. I don't want people to be offended because like the deaf
community, hearing loss, all of that, it can make people upset how you talk about it. And
so I was very like, I want to make sure like I'm not going gonna offend anyone. And they were very nice and receptive about that
and wanted to make sure my story was done in a way
that showed light on it.
And they did a really good job with it
and I couldn't be more happy with how it went for me.
So.
We obviously are just big fans of a lot of TV shows
on the show.
What are you a fan of?
Like, what do you enjoy?
Like, obviously you watch The Bachelor with your mom,
but are you into reality TV in general,
like a lot of our audience members are?
Or are you, like, what do you consume?
What do you?
I've always been super into The Bachelor,
which is why I was like,
it's weird that I got asked to go on it,
because I've watched it since I was super little.
Love Island I'll watch here and there.
And then I'll just watch like random reality TV shows.
I watched the Kardashians.
I watched the Demelio show.
But I would like to get into more, but.
I mean, it is a.
I'm not like a huge reality person.
Oh, are you scripted girly?
I don't know, I like like Grey's Anatomy.
Okay, that's a big one.
Yeah.
All right, McDreamy or McSteamy or?
Yeah.
We're all the mix?
I don't know, I was gonna say,
you can tell we don't watch it.
Yeah, I don't.
I don't think either of those people
are on that show anymore.
McDreamy, McSteamy, McWhatever.
That shows on it's like 60th season.
Yeah.
It really is. Who's your favorite doctor on Grey's Anatomy?
Um, like Dreamy for sure.
Celebrity crush there.
That Patrick Dumse?
Yeah.
That's what we actually said.
Honestly, yeah.
That was Joey.
There we go.
That would play Joey in a...
Oh no.
Oops.
But you've moved on.
Yeah, I've moved on.
And you're living in LA now. Mm-hmm. I feel like a lot of people don't know that.
Yeah, I am.
What made you move out here?
So right after I got off the show, I called my best friend and I was like, so yeah, this
is what happened.
And she's like, I know you're going through a lot, but I got a job at L'Oreal in LA,
so I have to move at the end of the month.
And I was like, well, you want a roommate?
And so I moved up here.
And how are you spending most of your time now?
Are you working or are you kind of still in limbo or...
Yeah, so I'm working on my nonprofit and...
Which is what?
Hear Your Heart.
Okay.
Oh, I love that name.
Thank you.
And so it was for kids with cochlear implants,
but it's in the process of being changed to just empowering kids
to embrace what makes them different.
So that's what I'm focusing on.
I'm excited about it.
Is there a website people can go to to support?
Yes, it's hearyourheart.org.
All right, go to hearyourheart.org.
Yeah, that makes me so happy.
And then obviously you came here
and gifted my daughter River with a book,
Daisy Do, All the Sounds She Knew.
It's a great title.
Thank you.
Great illustrations.
When did you write this?
I wrote it maybe in like May or June.
And then I started just working on it
and getting it illustrated.
Not that long ago.
Yeah, not that long ago.
So was it done before you went on the show?
Yeah, it was done.
I think end of July or beginning of August,
it was published so
we're like worked out perfectly people even criticize you for this although
yeah people were like she just went on to get her book sales up I'm like I
didn't even apply to go on the show I got asked to come on the show and I'm
like why would you be mad about a book that's helping all these little kids
yeah and I'm getting so many pictures from like parents And even, I've gotten so many messages from parents
showing me on the TV and then showing their little kid.
And they're like, we only let them watch certain parts
that you're in.
And they're like, just so they can see somebody.
Sure.
That's amazing.
Where can someone find this book?
On Amazon.
On Amazon, amazing.
Again, it's Daisy Do All the Sounds She Knew by Daisy Kent.
Go to Amazon.com to support and buy. It's a great book. Great illustrations. Thank you. Dedicated to your mom and dad.
It's beautiful. I know we have to let you go, Daisy. Yeah. Any final thoughts? What's the last impression
you want to leave with people before we let you go on your merry way? What can people expect, I guess, next for you?
I plan on doing a lot of big things and I plan on taking this.
I feel like some people who are like at the end of the day, this like was too a huge opportunity
for me and I'm going to take it and run with it and do everything I can with it.
So I plan on doing a lot of big things
and maybe surprising some people along the way.
Oh, okay.
Well, we're excited to watch and support.
Especially if it's illegal.
Uh, I don't even know if Paradise is,
do you know if, are there conversations
of Paradise going on?
I don't believe it's a thing, but I don't know.
I don't think, yeah.
Truly doesn't think. Especially because it seems like this lot.
I feel like it would have been a good season to do it.
Just because I feel like the girls on Joey season.
So many big personalities.
Yeah.
What a shame.
But I don't know, maybe.
I don't know what it was.
She said not for me, though.
What?
Would you go on Paradise? I think I'm no.
You're done for now.
Done for now.
Okay.
Maybe another music video.
Yeah.
Waiting.
You guys will be the first to know.
Thank you.
Can we do a premiere here?
Yeah.
Well, Daisy has to go
and unfortunately she can't do texting office hours with us,
but we have it coming up.
So don't go anywhere. And then when we return from texting office hours with us. But we have it coming up, so don't go anywhere.
And then when we return from texting office hours,
we'll give our final thoughts on days
we're gonna talk about you behind your back.

Oh.
One Skin.
If you want to reverse aging,
there is no other place to look than One Skin.
That's right.
The smart and talented people at One Skin
have literally invented reverse aging.
Thanks to their secret proprietary OS1 peptide, the first ingredient proven to switch off
the aging cells that causes lines, wrinkles, and thinning skin.
And they've got several studies to back it up.
I've been using their product for a while.
Can't you tell?
I'm literally reverse aging, as they say.
But don't just take my word for it.
OneSkin has over 4,000 five-star reviews and we're recognized by Fast Company as one of the
most innovative brands in 2024. Treating the symptoms rather than the root causes
of aging has long been the norm. Most skin care available on the market is
designed to provide a temporary reduction in visible signs of aging,
addressing just the surface symptoms of the underlying decline in skin health,
but not OneSkin.
In a third-party 12-week clinical study performed by a third-party research organization, OS1FACE
was clinically proven to strengthen the skin barrier, improve skin health markers, and
diminish visible signs of aging.
Wrinkles were diminished in 87% of users.
OneSkin is the world's first skin longevity company by focusing on the cellular aspect
of aging.
OneSkin keeps your skin looking and acting younger for longer.

How's it going? Good, thanks.
My name is Erica.
I am 30 years old and my friend joined a pyramid scheme.
We no longer have a friendship.
Okay, well what's the pyramid scheme?
It's one of the popular ones.
It's called Amway.
I'm not familiar.
I had a friend, I had one of my family members friends join and it is very hard to navigate.
They're still friends, they're still kicking it but.
What are they known for?
Both like, what does Amway want you to think they're known for and what are they also known
for?
And how do you know them?
So I didn't know them previously but I guess I live under a rock because they're one of
the biggest ones in the world. They're known for skincare products, makeup, home cleaning products, things like that.
So the background is that this is a friend from high school and we reconnected a couple years ago
because we briefly lived in the same place, stayed in touch and I welcomed our first baby
over the summer and she'd been texting me saying that she
has a gift she'd like to send.
I ended up being in town a couple of months ago and I reached out to her, said I'd love
to see her.
She could meet the baby and she said, perfect, I'll bring the gift over.
The gift was a product and she charged you for it?
She didn't charge me for it, but she did mention that it was a gift from the business that
she started with her husband.
And it was baby products, baby shampoo, maybe.
So we were grateful, didn't think much of it.
But after she left, she sent a text asking if we could go over her business's website.
Found it a little bit weird, but wanted to be a supportive friend.
So I agreed.
And it took about 30 seconds into the call for
me to realize what I had gotten myself into.
Some of the verbiage she used around redistribution of products and
things like that, but I was kind of so taken off guard that I didn't really know
what to do in the moment other than just listen.
She wasn't trying to get me to buy into the company, but she was encouraging me to buy products that I otherwise would buy elsewhere
through her and her husband. So I'm in therapy and my therapist and I are trying to work on being
more direct with friends and work settings, you name it. And I figured, you know what, I need to
get ahead of this because she'd mentioned like, I'm going to follow up with you next week and see if you
bought anything. And I wasn't really about it. So the text that I sent you guys was,
was me trying to get ahead of it and say, Hey, listen, like I appreciate the time, but
I'm not gonna, I'm not going to purchase anything from your company because my values don't align with MLMs, multi-level marketing
companies. And I hope that you understand and don't take it personally. And she immediately
got defensive. She accused me of not trusting her. And then ultimately made some passive
aggressive comments about shipping back the gift that she got for my
child.
But she asked for it back?
She asked for it back.
Yeah.
That's sassy.
Should we do a dramatic reading?
Who wants to be who?
Sierra, you can be our caller and you can be the friend, Jianjian.
Okay, so I'm the one that sent the text.
No, the right is the response.
Yeah, you're the sassy response.
Okay.
Hey, girl. Thanks again for showing me around last week.
I ended up researching Amway a bit more over the weekend.
And while I always support you and your family's journey, my beliefs don't align with multi-level
marketing companies.
So I'm not comfortable purchasing any products in support of them.
I hope you understand and that you don't take it personally.
How are things with the new place?
Are you guys adjusting okay?
That's interesting, but okay.
I would have been happy to have a conversation with you
to clear up some misconceptions that you may have,
but I understand.
Thought you'd be supportive of me and trust me,
but it's all good.
I do trust you and I wanna support you in other ways.
I don't wanna harp on this.
To me, it's okay if we don't see eye to eye on it.
Our friendship means a lot more to me than this.
Just want to be straightforward with you so you can put your time and energy into other prospects and we can move forward eye to eye on it. Our friendship means a lot more to me than this. Just want to be straightforward with you
so you can put your time and energy into other prospects
and we can move forward without feeling weird about this.
Thanks.
Since you're not going to use the baby products,
feel free to give them away or ship them back.
This feels like a malicious comment.
I'm disappointed that your gift to our son
and also the way you're treating me as a friend
is dependent on making a sale.
I don't feel like feeling pressured or bullied
for politely declining.
It's really disappointing.
It's not at all.
You said yourself that you weren't going to use it,
but you're good.
Actually, that's not what you said.
Yeah.
I was like, definitely did not say that.
But you're good.
If that's how you feel, then it's all good.
I know my heart and that's all that matters. That's not at all what I said. I said I wasn't going to make any purchases.
Okay, well, we're good.
I really respect you as a friend and I wish I didn't feel like you were putting our friendship on the line to make some cash.
I've been really thoughtful and intentional with my words and your lack of response earlier paired with the petty comment just now makes me sad.
Okay. I respect how you feel, but you're making your own assumptions
and that makes me disappointed too.
Gotta go though.
I've got meetings.
Take care.
Meetings.
Hooked and busy.
No rush, but when you get a chance,
I would like it if you could clarify
what assumptions I'm making.
It feels passive aggressive on your end,
but if it isn't, I'm open to moving past this.
Your comments were very passive aggressive
and I didn't call you out on that. But again, I respect how you feel and I'm good. I need to focus on what I'm open to moving past this. Your comments were very passive aggressive, and I didn't call you out on that.
But again, I respect how you feel, and I'm good.
I need to focus on what I'm doing.
We can dead it.
Can you clarify what I said that was passive aggressive?
I'm okay with being called out.
I think transparency is more important in our friendship than avoidance.
She sent a message and then decided to unsend a message.
I noticed you unfriended me on Instagram.
I'm hurt that we couldn't handle this as adults,
but I've received the message.
Sad you're willing to throw away a friendship spanning multiple decades over money.
Wish things had gone differently.
She thumbed up the message, then said,
Okay, I will accept fault.
To be clear though, your assumptions that this was about money were completely wrong.
And that's why I'm choosing not to entertain what you're saying.
But since you think of me that way,
I'll let you think whatever you want.
I never pressured you to buy anything from me.
All I did was ask for support.
But you said your values don't align with my business,
and therefore I don't see why I should have to explain myself
or convince you otherwise.
I would never say those things to you or about you.
And so I learned what I needed to learn.
We can agree to disagree.
If you feel disappointed, I'm sorry,
but maybe consider how your statements
were equally damaging.
Oh my God.
Your friend's been-
I don't think she's your friend.
Yeah, no.
She's been sucked into the vortex
of the culprit as an MLM.
I think it's too late, right?
It's too late, you can't save her.
This needs to bankrupt her first, unfortunately.
I know, I know.
And it makes me sad.
And I think at this point, it might be too far gone.
How long has she been in it?
I think it's been a couple of years. I realize I've been naive to it for a while because
about five years ago, she did start her own business. And so I thought this was another
business that she started. But now like looking back on past Instagram stories
of the houses and the choose your own destiny
and things like that that you see commonly
through people involved in these things,
it's been a while.
Okay, yeah.
So it sounds like she's actually having some success with it.
I don't think so.
No.
Okay, what makes you say that?
I mean, I know she has some other side jobs as receptionists and things. I don't think so. No. Okay. What makes you say that?
I mean, I know some other side jobs
as receptionists and things.
And so I think it's all about trying to look a certain way.
My older sister was in one a long time ago.
And then, you know, we have a lot of siblings
in our family.
So it's like, we'd all get together
and get like joint gifts from our parents.
And then my sister suggested that we get mom
some makeup, different company, and basically she tried
to sell us all her products for us to give as a joint gift
that she wanted to be a part of.
And we were like, no, and she took a great offense.
Psycho.
I don't know what it is.
I don't know if she does it anymore.
But yeah, when they get their hooks in you
and they start speaking the language
and they start, every conversation
feels like a sales pitch.
Unfortunately, I don't think your friend,
she's getting defensive because like she doesn't see it
or she doesn't wanna see it, you know?
And these MLMs are all about like your ability
to get rich on your own and get rich quick
and be your own boss and all these very attractive,
you know, things that people aspire to just in life.
And no one wants to think that they're working hard
to get rich off of possibly, you know,
shady business practices, you know,
like she doesn't think, she doesn't think reaching out
to you and asking you if you've bought anything
is somehow crushing you for money.
She doesn't like, and she's,
and the fact that you've triggered her,
deep down she knows what she's doing
and she doesn't wanna see it.
And you're calling her out and you're right,
you're not being passive aggressive.
You were being, you weren't direct, you know, arguably right, you're not being passive aggressive. You were being- Thank you.
You weren't direct, you know, arguably aggressive,
you know, actually you weren't aggressive.
You were very, but you were direct.
And that directness-
Maybe a little overly direct, but-
Well, I don't, you were direct.
You called it an M&L, you called it-
What it was.
What it was.
And they don't, no one in that space
wants it to be called multi-level marketing.
They wanna be.
Entrepreneurship.
Yeah, it's being your own boss
and taking charge of your life
and making other people rich and blah, blah, blah, blah,
but you can't win unless someone's losing in this space,
unfortunately, and that sucks.
So you guys are thinking no techs back,
just kind of leave it alone? No. I think you tried and you said everything And that sucks. So you guys are thinking no text back? Oh my God.
Just kind of leave it alone?
No.
I think you tried and you said everything
that you could say to try to salvage this friendship
or give her an opportunity to be forthcoming with you.
And instead she came back defensive.
I mean, listen, on her birthday, you could send her,
I love you, I miss you, send you a,
I don't think you should go out of your way
to try to bring up this argument,
to try to get on the same page.
You can send her love, you can send her well wishes,
you can see if she comes around,
but I don't think you're going to convince her
that she's doing something that you don't agree with.
You know what I'm saying?
I don't think you're gonna get your viewpoints aligned.
So you're gonna either have to be her friend
and like look the other way. And it's not like, I'm not saying you have to be her friend and like look the other way.
And it's not like, I'm not saying you can't be her friend
because she's doing this,
but you have strong feelings about it and so does she.
And right now just might not be in the cards for you guys.
Yeah, I might just give it some time then.
Yeah, I don't think you should stop being her friend.
I just think you're not going to win this fight.
You're going to, the only way you guys.
You can be a friend from a distance.
Yeah. You're going to have to reconnect
and then just pretend this argument never happened.
Okay.
Is my guess.
Yeah.
Well, I appreciate it.
Yeah.
Thank you for weighing in.
Fascinating.
Boy, those, yeah.
Good luck.
Yeah.
Ooh, thank you. They're a little culty for sure. Just, those, yeah. Good luck. Yeah. Thank you.
They're a little culty, for sure.
Just a little.
Yeah.
Straight away.
Yeah.
Well, thanks for the tea.
Yeah, no problem. Hope you guys enjoyed it.
Well, keep us posted if there's any update on this, but...
I sure will.
She's a, she sounds almost too far gone.
Plus, no one wants to feel like you're judging,
they're being judged.
And there's nothing you can do, unfortunately,
because she's only gonna take what you say to her
as judgment, whether you mean it that way or not.
Yep.
Right.
All right.
Hey, listen, sometimes we outgrow our friends.
It's true.
It does happen.
All right, well, take care.
Keep us posted if anything else happens. Thank you.
Congratulations on the new baby, by the way.
Thanks so much, we appreciate it.
Thank you, you too.
Bye, talk to you guys.
Bye.
Bye.
I like Mom for saying congratulations on the baby
and you saying you too.
She had a baby.
Oh really?
She said she welcomed a baby that summer.
Yeah.
Jojo.
I didn't hear that.
We weren't listening.
The bedazzles were blocking your eardrums. Yeah. Jojo. I didn't hear that. We weren't listening.
The bedazzles were blocking your eardrums.
Yes.
Yes, they were.
Well then, you know what?
You were being very, what's the word?
Obs.
I was listening.
Observant, active listening.
Observant, she's very observant.
Present, one would say.
Yeah.
Well.
I'm gonna get the fuck out of here.
I love you.
I love you guys. She's the best. Jojo. No. I love you. I love you guys.
Jojo, thank you.
Thank you.
Truly love you.
Thank you for having me.
I can't wait for all the.
Bitches to shut up.
We're gonna knock you.
Shots be fired.
Yeah.
Thank you.
This video is gonna take the world by storm.
Your career is just going to continue to grow
and get massive.
And we are excited to be on the sidelines.
Thank you. we love you.
You guys are my people.
Love you.
You're stuck with me.
I love you guys.
All right, well, that was Daisy.
Thank you, Daisy, for coming on the show.
That was, she's so sweet.
So sweet.
Here are my thoughts on Daisy.
So obviously when this episode started,
Daisy started by saying she was such a fan.
And normally I would just said something like,
oh, we're such fans of you.
But I remember being like really taken back
by her saying that to me.
Like.
Why's that?
Why?
Yeah.
I think there's a, there isn't sincerity that Daisy has
that I think most people don't have.
You know, she said it in a way where like,
like it meant, like it mattered to me.
I was like caught off guard. I was like, oh my, Oh my God, thank you. I would, I definitely
rattled me her like enthusiasm to be on the show. And I think there's this, there's something about
Daisy and her sincerity. I think, I really think the show missed out. You know, I think it's really
fascinating for Daisy to talk about obviously why she actually chose
not to be the Bachelorette.
And there are so many times where so many contestants
on the Bachelor or Bachelorette will say
they turned down the opportunity.
And that's kind of sometimes half true.
A lot of it is they out-negotiated them.
You know, they negotiate themselves out of the role.
They asked for too much money,
they asked for too many accommodations,
and as I've pointed out before,
the show famously will not negotiate,
almost to their detriment.
And I think in this case, it was to their detriment.
I'm really happy for Jen.
I'm very happy for the representation
that Bachelor Nation is finally having
when it comes to Asian representation.
I'm really bummed they went about it this way
because clearly Jen wasn't their first choice.
They never planned on Jen being their Bachelorette
and they haven't set Jen up for success.
Like we don't know who she is, we don't know her story
and it's a bummer that Jen is going into this role
being set up like this.
They have time to turn around.
I hope they get Jen out there.
I hope they allow us to learn about her backstory
and who she is.
So, you know, because they're clearly more to Jen
than just being the first Asian bachelorette, you know?
And so representation is important,
but I want them to set up Jen for success.
But that being said, I think the show should have done
whatever they could have done to make Daisy the bachelorette.
I think they should have paid her an amount
that would have been hard to turn down. I think they should have done to make Daisy the Bachelorette. I think they should have paid her an amount that would have been hard to turn down.
I think they should have bent over backwards
to make sure that her health was taken care of.
I just think, you know, so often their best Bachelorettes
have this kind of sassy snark, you know,
they're, you know, they, the spitfires,
and that's very entertaining.
They haven't had like a real true girl next door Bachelorette.
Daisy has more followers than Joey does right now.
She has an compelling story,
and even though she's sweet, she's not a pushover.
She was able to go through this whole process
and not succumb to the pressures and fall in love
and just say I'm falling in love because it's what you do.
Whatever she lacks in experience, she makes up for in emotional maturity as I see it, right?
And I think we often haven't had that in a lead.
And like the, the bachelor's been down bad
for so many seasons.
They had Joey and it was like a resurrection
of the franchise.
And for them, and again, like this has nothing to do
with Jen the person
they just didn't they did not set her up for success they weren't planning on having her be
the Bachelorette you know it was clearly going to be Daisy or Maria and for them to not be able
to close that deal for whatever reason I think is such a huge miss because she could have been
such a unique Bachelorette you know She could have been this very demure,
but yet powerful, someone who really,
it's like you can either be demure or you can be loud.
I think Daisy showed that you can be demure and strong at the same time.
I think they really had a chance to have a true girl next door season.
I think they really missed out.
I'm really bummed that we don't get to see Daisy as a bachelorette.
Totally understand and respect that she, you know, made the choice that she did.
But you just knowing how bachelor negotiates, you know, they were just like,
we can only do so much and they can only pay you so much, you know, cause they
never want to set a precedent.
And I think they missed out on having back to back,
just iconic seasons.
And yeah, I'm bummed that they didn't do whatever
they could to close that deal.
Yeah, that's really all I have to say about that.
I would agree with you.
And I think they also could have done the fun
handout daisies instead of rosettes.
They could have done so much.
It would have been so fun.
It could have been so different.
It would have been such a new breath of fresh air season of The Bachelorette.
Yeah. And I know, like, and again, Daisy was here. She seems very content in her decision.
I respect her decision. She chose herself first. I just think they could have made it
hard. Like they could have said, no, we want like what can truly what can we do?
Right. She's also so self aware too, that it's like, I think it would be interesting they could have said, no, truly what can we do?
She's also so self-aware too,
that it's like I think it would be interesting
seeing her in the process of going through
the dating with these men,
because I'm like, she's just very like,
checks in with herself, knows what she wants,
knows who she is, and it would have been nice to watch.
Like I said before, she's clearly not the first runner up
to have wanted to have it end the way she did,
but she is the first one where it happened.
And the fact that it happened the way it did
is because, as Daisy pointed out,
she spoke up, she was very vocal.
She said no to the producers who probably were,
you know, no, like that, when you get to that far,
and I can speak from experience,
everyone's just telling you how in love they are with you
and how you're destined to be together
and making sure that all the final two are just obsessed
and set themselves up for heartbreak.
And like Daisy was, you know, self-assured enough
in that crazy bubble to say, no, this is what I wanna do.
And yet do it in such an elegant and demure way.
I just don't think they've had that
in a Bachelorette in a long time.
And they should have made it work.
Hopefully maybe a season down the line or something,
they'll bring her back,
give her another opportunity to at Bachelorette.
Maybe, it's always possible.
Like they did with you.
Yeah. Yeah.
Possible, but missed opportunity, I think.
All right, well, I hope you guys enjoyed this episode.
